Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back to the North Florida Sports Network.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Rest in peace.
- 0:13Speaker 2: College football you had a good run man.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Great sport once.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I've been.
- 0:24Speaker 1: You know that was in the bank for a loss for a loss, but that was in the bank.
- 0:29Speaker 1: It'll work.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'm heart sick.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We didn't lose this year, no, surprisingly, like everybody else.
- 0:34Speaker 1: No, no, it's a.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Rankings were just revealed.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And Florida State drops one after winning a ACC championship by double digits, finish in the season undefeated, by shutting down a team that scored 30 points average, 33 points A game, yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So I tell you what man beating Oklahoma State was definitely worth a four spot.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Beating a team, yeah yeah, because blowing out a team that UCF blew out, that's really impressive.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Or do?
- 1:11Speaker 1: Mexico State went into Jordan here and, like all, burn three scores Better than the team that needed a fourth and 31 Hail Mary to do the same thing, not to mention losing at home in it.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You know, losing at home.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Out of conference schedule.
- 1:28Speaker 1: All right, florida State's out of conference opponent was LSU.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Alabama's out of conference opponent was Texas.
- 1:35Speaker 2: They got they got Texas and Bryant didn't.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and they lost, they lost.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But hey, we benched Jaylenman Rome.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We taught him how to play Well.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So what?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Right, like it goes back, it goes back to what you know.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain this to an attorney who's interested only because they're talking about lawyer stuff and not football.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So breaking it down by the black laws that they set up with, by this fraudulent committee, when they set up, like pretty much, a chair, a board chair, decide something that should be a sport.
- 2:10Speaker 1: They're they.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So this was a net inevitable and it like it's poetic that it happens on the last season.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Next year you'll have qualifiers, but in it you shouldn't.
- 2:23Speaker 1: It shouldn't come down to that and I want to say best, the whole best thing.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well then, what?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Why play the game?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Why play the game?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's profitable.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It's profitable and these matchups are profitable.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, anything other than that would be unrealized.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And that's why I'm going to give the unrealized to myself.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I'm going to give yeah, we're going to give it to myself, man.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I'm going to give it to every college football fan out there that still believed that there was still anything other than just unrealized idea.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Who you know?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Hey, who's going to get the most eyes on the?
- 2:56Speaker 1: team.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know that best.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You know, and I remember back in the 90s there's some best man.
- 3:03Speaker 1: What if they had this back in the day?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, those teams wide right, oh yeah, but that team wasn't best.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But you know why.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You know why it's so great and historic about it is because the upsets happen and teams are allowed to come back and get revenge or be able to play with an injured player and step up for them.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Right, they'll be dominant.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Well, this is, this is even this is this is bigger man, it shouldn't matter like that.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The game shouldn't come, but based on the best thing.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So they pretty much made it subjective and they took the sport out of it and they've they've gotten lucky Well, and they haven't flipped on that up till now and they knew they did it and it was something they wrote in the bylaws.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But for what?
- 3:44Speaker 1: To write that in takes away the whole.
- 3:46Speaker 1: What.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 3:49Speaker 1: I mean, what are you doing anyway?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I think it's pretty cut and dry is it was cut and dry.
- 3:59Speaker 1: They just blew it.
- 4:00Speaker 2: The gender was that what you saw is for weeks.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 2: As soon as Jordan Travis got hurt.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they, they was there.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You had a tie.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You had the entire sports.
- 4:10Speaker 1: They didn't have a chance.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Sports leader.
- 4:11Speaker 2: ESPN pushing a narrative of best Right.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And for some reason, things like say Alabama's three point win over Auburn right was much more impressive and indicative of being better than Florida State.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You know, winning covering down in the swamp, winning with two different quarterbacks Because it looked you know two different quarterbacks Winning with two different quarterbacks.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It looked more entertaining.
- 4:35Speaker 1: You're going to yeah, yeah, Exactly which?
- 4:37Speaker 2: one was it, was it?
- 4:39Speaker 2: You know well, people watch this game in its entirety, right, yep, you know that doesn't really have anything to do with it.
- 4:44Speaker 1: More energy Offense moves the needle man.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Right Offense moves the needle and the big teams that look, look pretty when they win.
- 4:50Speaker 2: They don't look at the substance.
- 4:52Speaker 2: There's literally no difference between Auburn and Florida.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Right None.
- 4:57Speaker 2: None, and one team needed a, you know, just a a prayer.
- 5:03Speaker 1: There's just games this year that you played that one of them you actually lost by double digits.
- 5:07Speaker 1: There was a game that you needed a prayer to win.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Is there any point at this season that floor, St Hamlet, where they were at any point put up?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Maybe BC?
- 5:17Speaker 2: maybe.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Okay, fine, that's on the road to BC, but I I go back to you know and it didn't take a four, like you stopped them, and it didn't take a Hail Mary, so like there's on the road to BC.
- 5:26Speaker 2: When you're, you know, 31, 29 win on the road.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And then the the ACC had a better impressive than a 17 to seven win on the road against your USF.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, the ACC had a better record against the SEC.
- 5:39Speaker 2: It's got nothing to do with any of that, but it?
- 5:41Speaker 1: what does it have to do with them?
- 5:42Speaker 2: It has to do with television, the fact that we're not going to leave the SEC out of playoff.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Well, they knew that when they set up the thing.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and, and that's why you saw, texas moved to number three because we can't justify leaving.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Texas out at all.
- 5:58Speaker 2: If we're going to have the SEC in right.
- 6:00Speaker 1: We could have done it with Georgia wins.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, no, if Georgia beats.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Alabama, then the SEC is going to make it Right Florida States in.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Right, that's what.
- 6:09Speaker 2: That's what screwed everything.
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's.
- 6:10Speaker 2: What's so amazing about this is that if Georgia wins and it comes down to Florida, florida State and Texas as you know which team's more deserving they're going to, they're going to look at okay, well, florida State is undefeated.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But they didn't look at that yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Because they have to get the SEC in there.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Well, it's.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That's where you have a problem with it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: You need to have.
- 6:30Speaker 1: There shouldn't be rankings when it's just ridiculous, it's when I it's football.
- 6:36Speaker 1: No, it's not football anymore.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It's not football anymore, it's a sport is dead.
- 6:39Speaker 2: It's a reality TV.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's professional wrestling with you know a little bit less of a scripted outcome.
- 6:45Speaker 1: It is, it is, yeah, it is man.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's, it's, it's dead.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The legitimacy of the sport is over.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You know you, you saw it drag out over the last few weeks exactly what dictates what in college football.
- 7:01Speaker 2: What do you think you are?
- 7:03Speaker 2: I am.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It's not, it's sad, wins and losses it takes like a break from.
- 7:09Speaker 2: so you remember like I would say anybody that that what do we do?
- 7:13Speaker 1: We just go bare watching.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It has the capacity, yeah, to just it's starting to ignore in college football.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Just ignore it, man.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's a dead sport, it's stupid, it doesn't matter, it doesn't.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You saw that right now, you saw that today and you, you know what.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You know what.
- 7:26Speaker 2: What it's going to move towards next year and in the future.
- 7:28Speaker 2: They're going to 12 playoffs, and that's what it's going to be, man.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It's going to be a three, four hour show every Saturday and those same four idiots are going to be up there and what they're going to be bitching about and arguing about is going to be who's seated where.
- 7:41Speaker 2: And well, you know, this is who you know all these bylaws, and they look good, they should be seven, no, they should be sitting at the nine seat.
- 7:47Speaker 1: and who cares?
- 7:49Speaker 2: And ultimately, who?
- 7:50Speaker 1: cares Because it doesn't matter.
- 7:51Speaker 2: No, it doesn't matter.
- 7:52Speaker 2: It's going to be a bunch of teams.
- 7:53Speaker 2: You're going to get to the point where it's to be happy that you won your rivalry games.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Why?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Why, If you're, if you're a good team, why not just rest your starters early in the season, Knowing that later in the season, when everybody's going to be paying attention, you know that's when you need to look good, that's when you need to look your best man.
- 8:09Speaker 2: You know you're going to start playing for that 12 game playoff and not so much just playing the season.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that leads me to my next point.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Mike Norvell.
- 8:18Speaker 2: If I'm Mike Norvell, I get the whole team together.
- 8:20Speaker 2: You know I obviously address them.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And then I find every single player that is considering the NFL draft or is going to go to the NFL and I tell them to a man off doubt.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You got nothing left to prove to anybody Right, right, and they don't owe the fans anything.
- 8:37Speaker 2: They've given the fans everything that we could have asked for.
- 8:40Speaker 1: They did and we don't want you to risk injury.
- 8:42Speaker 2: No For what?
- 8:43Speaker 2: For what?
- 8:43Speaker 1: For some bullcrap bowl game.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, Doesn't mean deadly poo man.
- 8:47Speaker 2: No, it doesn't mean anything.
- 8:48Speaker 2: You can go out there and go play Georgia now.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Go play Georgia or go play another.
- 8:53Speaker 1: But if you were good it wouldn't matter.
- 8:54Speaker 1: But like you're not giving us a chance, Doesn't matter, we are good.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Anyway, it doesn't, you won.
- 9:01Speaker 2: You think anybody thinks UCF is really the national title winner and their little undefeated season?
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he said.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Does anybody remember Auburn?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Right, no, dude, like, if you're going to the NFL, if you're an NFL prospect, you're on Florida State.
- 9:12Speaker 1: If I'm Mike.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Norvell I say dude.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I understand even the kids that want to play Like dude, I understand, but this is nothing more than an early practice.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys can still practice, get it, stay in shape, you know, but get ready for the NFL.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's time for us to start working the young kids out.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, this is the idea.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You're exactly right.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, screw the whole system.
- 9:31Speaker 1: We're just trying to make you good and better at being a man and be a better NFL talent.
- 9:37Speaker 1: All you can do is control that.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Exactly, I mean, I just saw his reaction.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I mean, you could see just heartbreak.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You hate it for every, every one of you, dude, and you got to sit up there and listen to people like Greg McElroy and Joey Galloway and all were so sorry for effort You're not sorry for it.
- 9:55Speaker 2: You pushed the narrative for the last three weeks.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You constructed what best was.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You literally sat there every day and whittled Florida state down into just Jordan Travis.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you ignored every single other player on that.
- 10:07Speaker 2: That team Yep, it was just going on last night.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Jesse Palmer, you know, suggesting Mike Norvell, you know, try to put it in for more style points.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Exactly Like yeah, you win that.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we got to look sexy.
- 10:19Speaker 2: We can't just you know we can't.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Do what football is and do the smart thing to secure the win.
- 10:23Speaker 2: You got to look sexy man.
- 10:26Speaker 1: The consequences of giving into a narrative of the moment and are destructive.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's what's so exciting and permanent, not just for Florida state but college football as a whole.
- 10:36Speaker 1: From FSU AD Mike Allford.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's bigger things that play here for Florida state and this for me like dude, you got to get out of the ACC.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, yeah, that's nothing to do with with, you know, teams in the ACC not being as good as teams in the other.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It's a hundred percent about.
- 10:58Speaker 2: The ACC has no media pull.
- 11:00Speaker 2: The SEC is the ASPN's top dog.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yep, the ACC sits back and they were like well, we're not gonna, yeah, not have, you're not gonna put us in the SEC and in our big conference and we're gonna go and try to get in the big 10 and have Fox pushing it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta do none.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're honestly.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, I'm not a lawyer, but there there seems to be a collusion with with right, you know, kind of a conflict of interest with ESPN and all of this shit.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But again.
- 11:31Speaker 1: They own a sport and both networks, yeah, and when they pay more for one, and it's just when you have all that.
- 11:39Speaker 1: It's just a shame.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And I remember 10, I remember when this committee came out and you and how could you forget if you're an FSU fan, and it just happens to be, you just have to be the poster child of the BCS era and the the Bull Alliance era.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You see how we're gonna use you the Bull Alliance with Ohio's like it goes.
- 12:03Speaker 1: This sport has just always been like this.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I guess that's why we it's just nothing more than a reality TV show.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Right, that that's kind of what it is now.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Is that it was never played out on television for you?
- 12:15Speaker 1: until now, and what you love about it is the competitiveness, the, the chance that you have, and no matter against against Oz, but you don't, because you don't control.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't only control you control.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And you have.
- 12:31Speaker 1: You went out and did everything you were supposed to do.
- 12:33Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying when it goes to 12 teams.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm telling you, you're gonna see Teams there should have been by all early season.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Just start to the best team crap.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I just, I just.
- 12:43Speaker 1: That's trapped they don't do that in any other tournament.
- 12:47Speaker 1: They don't do that in March, madness.
- 12:48Speaker 1: They don't do that in the NFL playoffs.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It's you earn your spot.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It should be earned, not not decided on politically.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I for me.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I don't understand why they didn't just go ahead and start dropping Florida State.
- 13:00Speaker 2: It would have been less of a right as soon as it like.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Why I keep it happens.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yeah, why keep them there?
- 13:05Speaker 1: just put them at nine and be like hey, this is where we think they are, but don't, don't just say they're at four, they're at four, they're avoiding what, they're just avoiding it.
- 13:13Speaker 1: They were praying to God.
- 13:15Speaker 2: They had to sell drama.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They had to sell drama and they were just hoping that Auburn didn't do what they did, or Georgia would have won.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah for the people on that committee state.
- 13:23Speaker 1: So they didn't.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It's got to be a nightmare for everyone, but like it, the but the.
- 13:29Speaker 1: The reason why it's messed up is because you, the whole, the, the bylaws are subjective.
- 13:34Speaker 1: It's what do you think the best team are?
- 13:37Speaker 1: But there's no Set standard to figure that out.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So well, we, we come like a.
- 13:42Speaker 1: We called it a money raising fundraiser, who can recruit the best, who can get the most.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And then you go back with what we've been talking about the tv deals and who's paying for what and you're like, well, no, but then you get a chance to play it out on the field, right and no matter what.
- 13:56Speaker 1: They might have four stars and five stars or, but you got a chance Because you can play the game and you work your ass off all year and you can go out there and you can play the game and you can, you can be in every single game, new Mexico state and roll into Jordan here right and yeah beat them by three touchdowns Right, but it doesn't matter, because, at the end of the day, if one of our big guys figures it out and they their five star Learned how to throw the ball and halfway through the season, yeah, or you know, they change the offense, they play a little bit weaker after they've already you know, whatever dude, they struggle after they benched him, so we don't have to like there's no, there's no, we're not punishing losses, we're not punishing losses, we're forgiving losses.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we're not rewarding Perfect.
- 14:40Speaker 1: We're not rewarding results, we're not, you can look.
- 14:43Speaker 2: good enough, you can look good.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 14:47Speaker 2: What?
- 14:47Speaker 1: are we teaching.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Well, I, you know I don't want to.
- 14:50Speaker 2: This is a sad.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I don't want to send straight shots at Washington, but I kind of yeah, send him send him to everybody.
- 14:56Speaker 1: send him, it's just the microscope is the microscope wasn't shine.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Because the only win is Oregon their injury, they had lost an offensive tackle.
- 15:04Speaker 1: If their only win was Oregon, yeah, who else did?
- 15:06Speaker 1: They beat Well yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I don't play out of conference, why they automatically do they play out of conference?
- 15:11Speaker 1: No one.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Who did Michigan play out of conference?
- 15:13Speaker 1: No one, okay.
- 15:14Speaker 2: But why was Michigan or was?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Washington always just automatically in because they didn't have an injury.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 1: They're taking one.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Well, they look, but they look better at times, I guess.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I, that's where you and it all comes down to like yeah where it's decided on the field and not where a fucking bunch of old white dudes or where yeah, or that's what it is, man we saw there's a old retired people there's whatever Slabs just sitting there sitting around deciding.
- 15:45Speaker 1: And I know disrespect to them.
- 15:48Speaker 1: It's not fair that they have to decide that.
- 15:49Speaker 2: It's a shame to each and every one of them.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It's a shame.
- 15:52Speaker 1: It's a damn shame.
- 15:53Speaker 1: You know what?
- 15:54Speaker 1: They should have kept the beat.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I've been saying this should have kept the damn bcs rankings.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Just move it before bcs.
- 16:00Speaker 2: They are, yeah, they're foreign bcs.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't.
- 16:04Speaker 1: What are the final bcs rankings?
- 16:08Speaker 2: I.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I think it's Alabama, I can't remember if it's Texas or Alabama at three, but Michigan and Washington are number two.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Fsu is at number four.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Oh well, yeah, that's, but it wasn't.
- 16:20Speaker 2: It's not about rankings anymore, it's not about it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's not what you're perceived to be, even if you do everything you have, there's no, there's no chance for you if you're not, if you're not donating the money, if you're not paying for this and you can see that now Ticket prices are gonna go up why?
- 16:39Speaker 1: What makes the fan like why am I gonna go see a team so they can go end of feed it and not even have a chance?
- 16:43Speaker 1: No, because we got to pay more, because these other teams are paying more.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So it's not about the field, it's about money.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Really hard to convince people to keep pouring money and Interest into it at all.
- 16:58Speaker 1: It's really tough, yeah, man.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It's just like I said, sports dead If you, if you are on the face you have the capability of being able to just ignore.
- 17:07Speaker 1: The results on the.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I would encourage it, yeah, so that gum it yeah it's reality TV at this point which isn't healthy, been proven in science.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yeah, this isn't healthy.
- 17:17Speaker 1: No, it's not it's not been healthy.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I didn't get any sleep, nobody got any, so I didn't get any sleep sucks for the kids, but, like I said, just they, they, they did everything that yeah fan base could ask.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Hmm, no, no, don't, don't even worry about this.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I hope they don't even go to the bowl game.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Well, they got, they're going, it's money for and it's a chance to it's a chance to practice.
- 17:40Speaker 2: You know you got a bunch of young kids on the team that are gonna need reps.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just well, man yeah well, they're scared nobody wants, anybody wants any of this.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Nobody wants that.
- 18:05Speaker 1: D.
- 18:06Speaker 1: No, dude what he wants.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Another four weeks with Tate Rodimé here I would have shit out of here with.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's just bullshit.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Jalen Milrow.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Well, he lost, yeah, he lost, lost the game.
- 18:19Speaker 2: He lost the game, you know.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Oh, we didn't know how to use them properly.
- 18:22Speaker 2: That's on you, that's your fault, man.
- 18:24Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 18:26Speaker 1: No, it's not cuz you get allowed to.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's dumb, it's stupid that that I mean Will, uh, who knows dude who cares at this point.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But you know, it's something that I'm serious about.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Dude, like I don't, uh, I don't think Mike, that kind of like, just give up, kind of feeling in him.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean he sat there but I would, I would seconds and I don't.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He went up and then like but that's not like when, when the players are like well, dude, I love you man, but what do you?
- 19:03Speaker 2: what do you want us to say?
- 19:04Speaker 2: Like I don't want you guys to say anything.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Man, you know you gave everything you can.
- 19:08Speaker 2: We'll talk to you guys tomorrow.
- 19:10Speaker 2: You know, I'd start having me, I'd have, I'd have the individual meetings with the players and start talking to them.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Start your interviews at the end of the season.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Well, they're gonna get a decide.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they'll get announced the bowl.
- 19:22Speaker 1: The bowl announcements.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Man, where are they gonna play?
- 19:25Speaker 2: They're going to the orange bowl, shouldn't matter, shouldn't matter.
- 19:27Speaker 2: You should be talking to players right now.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no one.
- 19:31Speaker 2: One on one, one on one conversations with all your guys.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That tray Benson playing in the orange ball.
- 19:35Speaker 2: No.
- 19:36Speaker 1: You know Colin playing in the orange ball.
- 19:37Speaker 2: No, no.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson, are you gonna go to the draft?
- 19:40Speaker 2: Are you gonna come back even either way?
- 19:41Speaker 2: No, you don't need to play.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Play for what?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah, all the D tackles?
- 19:46Speaker 1: No, why yeah?
- 19:47Speaker 2: verse.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I mean, did Jerry verse hell no, visc, hell no.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I yeah Farmer.
- 19:53Speaker 1: if you want, josh farmer, if you want to play with you coming back if you want to play with DJ one last time you know I will see you, but like make it clear that you're in that.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys have any intentions for you any intentions of Jumping into the NFL, do it, you know, going to the senior bowl because you guys play great on, guys can go to the senior Bowl this year and come back NFL.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and the NFL scouts are looking at game tape.
- 20:16Speaker 1: They saw the performance that they had on defense.
- 20:18Speaker 2: They're not deciding the new thing this year underclassmen can go to these all-star games and then come back if they, if they want, even if kids are thinking about doing that, I would say alright, it's a travesty off doubt, don't even play in this bowl game and I know, and I know that there you know there's best teams that it just when you pet at the bylaws to have best.
- 20:37Speaker 2: As such a broad, subjective thing, I Mean why you knew it was coming inevitably whenever you had a situation where they flex, they were doing it, the thing that is supposed to when it's opposed the way out, and they didn't take when you write a bylaw like that, the assumption is and I can't believe that it has to be explained in sports is that you're comparing two teams that have the Identical record right nope, you know so that's the best thing, get in there.
- 21:07Speaker 1: It's subjective.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It's like alright, well, it could mean that we want the four teams we want to see play the most, because we think they're the best.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Should have been in there, and that's what it is, if you're undefeated and Are they, are they be compared against the team that has a loss at that you would think.
- 21:21Speaker 2: That's the rate, that's the way that football, that's how the playoff system start a long time.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Getting ranked behind a team with a loss, and that's how it ended getting ranked behind 14.
- 21:29Speaker 1: There's another two teams with losses right right now.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest, man.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Ohio State won a title in 2002 and it Bro.
- 21:39Speaker 2: They needed Hail Mary week after week just to get to that season wrong and needed, takes away the beauty of sport man, whatever, it is I feel so bad for coach Norville.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I feel I feel so bad for 80 Mike Alfred.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I see it feels, but more importantly, I still feel so bad for those players.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And and what?
- 21:58Speaker 1: What did I mean?
- 21:59Speaker 1: Just what do you say to him?
- 22:00Speaker 1: I?
- 22:01Speaker 2: don't think there's anything you can't say yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Like that nothing.
- 22:04Speaker 2: This has never happened.
- 22:05Speaker 2: That you got to like dude this has never happened for in college football what you do.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You can control how you react to it and well, you got it.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You got to show me like dude.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I need to grow man 40 like dude.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I'm left speechless guys.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah so, like I understand that all of you are left speechless and hurt like that, that's just how it is.
- 22:21Speaker 1: You got to take it we lost because a guy got injured and you guys got his back.
- 22:26Speaker 2: No, we didn't, you didn't lose anything.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You didn't lose anything.
- 22:29Speaker 1: You're right, you got, you didn't lose, yeah, even lost a damn thing.
- 22:32Speaker 1: That's totally right.
- 22:33Speaker 2: You got screwed over because big money networks wanted something else.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Because, no because they thought that, no man, they'll.
- 22:40Speaker 1: The bylaws say the four best teams by these 13 individuals decided that they're not.
- 22:45Speaker 1: There's someone's better than you, someone's better than you and we're not gonna be able to decide on the field, guys, sorry.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Yeah everything that I've been saying all year.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, what does that mean?
- 23:02Speaker 1: I mean I didn't mean it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I'm sorry, my bad.
- 23:05Speaker 1: What do you tell me?
- 23:06Speaker 2: I wish I could go back and tell you it can get you a success.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Man, you can be successful.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Everything you did, it got you the 13th in the championship and it will.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And it will.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now the character that they.
- 23:16Speaker 1: You know how you respond to this in life.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I mean, I guess that's going to be a lesson, but man yeah it feels stupid.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It does.
- 23:23Speaker 1: The sport feels dumb.
- 23:24Speaker 1: The sport feels just absolutely stupid.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And I know that hey you're the North Florida Sports Network.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Hey, austin, you got your degree from Florida State, well, duh.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Well, hey, man, you're a rabid fan for FSU.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Well, I am, I am, you know what I am, and I and I've and I came back to this to watch it, and I started this thing because I missed my dad and father and we used to talk about these things After the job, sitting on the work, and you can hear him after every show.
- 23:56Speaker 1: We talked about these things and it was fun to be able to talk about upsets and talk about, well, you know you, you can't decide it out there.
- 24:04Speaker 1: That's why they play the game and all that stuff, but all that's dead now.
- 24:07Speaker 1: No, it's not why they play the game anymore.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It's not Now.
- 24:10Speaker 2: They play the game for advertisement.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, so people are getting caught up in bylaws and things like that and and you know, yeah, the cap to the committee.
- 24:18Speaker 1: right, there's your tip of the cap.
- 24:21Speaker 2: All the bylaws talk, all the, all the the talking heads on ESPN, all of that, that stuff is just to get people to ignore the fact that what they're really doing is picking what they assume is going to get the most watchers, the most eyeballs on TV.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Right, the thought of how much money involved, right, and they.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You know they took a hit last year when TCU had to play Georgia for the title game and this perceived oh man, what if we get in there and Florida state?
- 24:51Speaker 1: These are board meetings.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Yeah, these are board meetings.
- 24:53Speaker 1: That's what that committee is now.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It is a.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It's a charade that this is a committee of football minds, and they came up with an objective thing.
- 25:02Speaker 2: There's no team.
- 25:03Speaker 2: There's no team in that playoff that's going to blow Florida state out.
- 25:06Speaker 2: There's not.
- 25:07Speaker 2: There's not a team in the country that's going to blow Florida state out, not that defense.
- 25:11Speaker 1: No, yeah, but they were denied a chance they it's.
- 25:14Speaker 1: So, whatever this is going to be, this is the worst and I want to say you know, if this happened to Miami I'd be just as pissed Not like emotionally I guess, but it would be bullshit, I'm sure the rival if it's happened to.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Clemson, probably laughing their dicks off.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but if this happened to Clemson I'd be just it'd be bull crap.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it would.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It would.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, Exactly, it wouldn't.
- 25:38Speaker 1: This shit wouldn't happen to Clemson.
- 25:40Speaker 1: They'd be like wow, and you know, Dabba would have been like all over that politic and you know he's.
- 25:49Speaker 2: he's a media clown, he's a puppet.
- 25:50Speaker 2: That's what he does.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Norvell did it the right way, man.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Norvell had to win games, bill man just toughness.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And I, you know, I saw this team all year.
- 25:58Speaker 2: And that's the thing is like.
- 25:59Speaker 2: This is a roster that had to be developed and put together piece by piece from different areas and you know they're not this big sexy.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You know we had back to back.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Number one recruiting classes.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Type of roster.
- 26:11Speaker 1: What do you tell?
- 26:11Speaker 1: What do you I mean, oh my God.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I just you thank him for this.
- 26:17Speaker 1: You thank him man.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You know you, and what do you say to FSU fans, to FSU?
- 26:24Speaker 2: fans yeah, thank them.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I mean you, just like, what I would say to FSU football fans is, if you know, if you, if you have the capacity to to just not care about the sport, I would suggest it.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to say, stop supporting the team and stop going to the games and and no it's a heartbroken fan yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 2: It's fun to watch football and it, but don't don't put as much into it as you.
- 26:47Speaker 2: They wonder.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to, because that's what you, because you're not going to be able to compete when you put everything into it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Even if you do compete and you can't do everything.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly it can come down to.
- 27:00Speaker 2: We don't like the way you look.
- 27:01Speaker 2: You'll be able to get in.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You'll be able to automatically get in Now.
- 27:05Speaker 1: It's the only way you'll be able to get in.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It'll be 12 teams.
- 27:08Speaker 1: We'll get four teams from the big 12.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sorry, four teams from the SEC.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Move it, yeah, moving forward.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You're just going to see that the ACC is dead.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Cal and Stanford and SMU, without even taking money into your conference.
- 27:23Speaker 1: It's the sham man.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And and it, I love so many things about it.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It had a good run and it's so heartbreaking to see it.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And but you, you realize, like every I get their point, I get hey, Vegas would have these teams favored, but they had, or they had, or they had favored, but they had Oregon favored against Washington by double digits.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You know, like that's not, it shouldn't be what it's about.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's about what it's earned on the field.
- 27:46Speaker 1: And when they said best, without defining what best is, the thing was inevitably going to happen and it happened in the last year possible to FSU.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And it's a shame.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And you know you, what do you tell your kids?
- 28:05Speaker 1: You say, hey, you did everything, you did You're, you're a champion and like you, like we're just worried about you, man.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to ring.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Damn.
- 28:15Speaker 1: It's just, it's so sad they're always going to like for the rest of their life.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Have to be.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It's the sport died a little bit today.
- 28:23Speaker 2: I completely died the college football.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I mean you still got the NFL, which is, is you know, records determine those playoffs, right, so it's still got some legitimacy.
- 28:33Speaker 1: That's true.
- 28:34Speaker 2: You know, it's also very very media driven it is.
- 28:36Speaker 2: But college dude, I'm telling you, the only real, pure college athletics anymore.
- 28:41Speaker 1: It's been like that for a while and you don't.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It happens right to you to your team, I guess or right in your backyard.
- 28:46Speaker 2: You got college baseball.
- 28:48Speaker 1: This didn't happen to anybody before and then no, nobody even got close.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Just last year.
- 28:54Speaker 1: TCU made the Dagon playoff.
- 28:56Speaker 2: It was two losses, right?
- 28:57Speaker 2: No, they lost their first game.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But lost in the big 12 championship and got it.
- 29:02Speaker 2: They lost their last game of the season and got in because Georgia two years ago won a national championship after losing the conference.
- 29:10Speaker 1: You know that was the last game they won.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I mean they've never beaten Alabama in an SEC championship.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 29:16Speaker 2: So I mean, why is it so impressive that Alabama beat them?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I get it, they're one.
- 29:23Speaker 2: It's impressive.
- 29:23Speaker 2: But why is it worthy?
- 29:24Speaker 2: But it's not more important.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I would say impressive is not more important to the score and to have that fact that you lost at Coach.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Valvano moment and to have these, these moments that we teach everyone that it's about what you do on the field and it's not.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And they did that when the Biles were written and technically they could say all these things and be like well, we want to make sure that the best teams are playing, instead about your matchups.
- 29:48Speaker 1: We want to have the best matchup, and that's not right.
- 29:51Speaker 1: That's not why the sports doing otherwise the Dan and Dave guy remember the Olympics.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they would have put those guys in the Olympics, right yeah they would have One guy didn't qualify right.
- 29:59Speaker 1: No.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 30:00Speaker 1: But they put a lot of damn money in those marketing campaigns.
- 30:03Speaker 2: God, those are great, they were the they were the future of the country, man, and let it supremacy.
- 30:08Speaker 1: It's not already going to be.
- 30:09Speaker 1: You know, you're a Homer, You're all.
- 30:11Speaker 1: You just saying that's because of Florida State, whatever.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Well, yeah, of course I would be saying the same thing.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I yeah, hell yeah, I'm pissed.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But I would be saying the same thing if it happened to anybody in any of the Power Five conferences.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, with less fury and rage, but like they play talking about, I mean they played- LSU and Florida on the road and they beat them at Clemson.
- 30:30Speaker 2: They beat anybody.
- 30:31Speaker 2: It went up to Death Valley.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Nobody did it, except us again this season.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Right, notre Dame got handled.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they beat Notre Dame, got handled by Louisville.
- 30:41Speaker 2: It's.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I won't say it's complete collusion, but it sure smells like it man it is.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 1: But it's just a sport and it's for making money, just money.
- 30:52Speaker 2: We got to pay.
- 30:53Speaker 2: We got to pay these kids now.
- 30:54Speaker 1: So they're going to the nightmare happened and they weren't about to.
- 30:56Speaker 1: They weren't about to piss off the breadwinner.
- 30:59Speaker 2: No, not the breadwinner got fed.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Now when Nick's eating we feel so sorry.
- 31:04Speaker 1: They don't believe any of that crap.
- 31:07Speaker 2: He cares Nobody gives two crabs, yeah, and that it's whatever dude the sport is now, you know it's died, dead over, finished.
- 31:18Speaker 1: So what are we going to do?
- 31:18Speaker 2: I guess, I mean, I still watch football, you know.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But, like, what's the point of, of really caring?
- 31:24Speaker 1: Getting a bird watching man.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I really am going to get my binoculars.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I'm going to go out, hit the trails, you know learn more about those birds out there and what you know what kind of birds, environments, what trees, their mating habits, yeah, stuff like that, stuff that matters, right?
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's a no Sucks man, give me back my son.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Personally, I guess I'd like to see Michigan.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I don't, I don't, I don't even want to watch it.
- 32:00Speaker 1: No, I mean, just hear me, you hear me, I mean Michigan.
- 32:03Speaker 2: win it all Harbaugh immediately.
- 32:06Speaker 2: You know, take a job with the Bears or whoever, and then come out nonchalantly.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we were, we were.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, not to mention we cheating the whole time.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we kept doing.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Oh, that's not even talk about that, they're number one we forgot about all that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 1: That whole, that whole manifesto about that guy.
- 32:26Speaker 2: That's why I want them to win.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Win the title.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Oh, don't worry about that.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Don't worry about that.
- 32:31Speaker 2: A elaborate sign stealing scheme.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Everybody else can have a little taste of what didn't really happen.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Florida State fans are feeling right now, so I got an TCU fan to add about it.
- 32:39Speaker 2: It is man.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Sham, yep, it's all the sham, dude.
- 32:46Speaker 1: What are we going to do?
- 32:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:55Speaker 2: Or a psychological thing.
- 32:56Speaker 2: So it is it is officially the Orange Bowl versus Georgia.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I knew it.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I knew it.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Oh man, that's that.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh, you think you're good Go play Georgia, yeah, for real Like what, what I'm yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I wouldn't even, I wouldn't even want to go to that.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:22Speaker 1: That's just.
- 33:22Speaker 1: It makes me sick thinking about it.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You're playing Georgia, but it's going to be in the orange bowl.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so ridiculous.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Here's a statement from Mike Norvell.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I'm disgusted and infuriated with the committee's decision today to have what was earned on the field taken away because a small group of people decided they knew better than the results of the games.
- 33:44Speaker 2: What is the point of playing games?
- 33:46Speaker 2: Do you tell players it is OK to quit if someone goes down?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Do you not play a senior on senior day for fear of injury?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, huh, yep.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Where is the motivation to schedule challenging non-conference games?
- 33:56Speaker 2: We are not only an undefeated Power Five Conference champion, but we also played two Power Five non-conference games away from home and won both of them.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I don't understand how we're supposed to think this is an acceptable way to evaluate a team.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I'm hurting for our players, who have displayed a tremendous amount of resilience and response this season.
- 34:15Speaker 2: What happened today goes against everything that is true.
- 34:18Speaker 2: In writing.
- 34:19Speaker 2: College football a team that overcame tremendous adversity and found a way to win, doing whatever it took on the field, was cheated today.
- 34:25Speaker 2: It's a sad day for college football.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Preach.
- 34:28Speaker 1: It really is.
- 34:30Speaker 1: I think he really means that Of course his heart's hurt.
- 34:33Speaker 1: But I mean you can?
- 34:34Speaker 1: You can kind of see when I were interviewing Jim Harbaugh and like there's something wrong with this.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah there's something wrong with this, god.
- 34:44Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 34:45Speaker 1: We're going to tell Are we supposed to quit?
- 34:47Speaker 1: Nope, you quit.
- 34:49Speaker 1: When someone like where we damn it, don't play your senior on senior day, damn it.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Hell yeah, he's going to be regretting that decision for the rest of his life.
- 34:57Speaker 1: So travesty.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm glad that they addressed it.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Fsu opens as a 12 point underdog Of course, of course.
- 35:09Speaker 1: There's no way.
- 35:10Speaker 1: How do you?
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's just, it's bull crap, man.
- 35:13Speaker 1: And the way, how do you show up to even play this game if your floor is state I'm yeah, you're not going to have anybody.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Like you said, if Norvell is going to go in there and be a man there's, he is not going to break down the trust.
- 35:25Speaker 1: He feels absolutely devastated because he's been Telling those kids, telling those men what, what he wanted from him.
- 35:33Speaker 1: He got it.
- 35:34Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 35:35Speaker 1: That's just I know, Just disgusting.
- 35:37Speaker 2: That's why I'm saying like I know it on the on the outside, it appears weird for me to suggest that Norvell would would encourage players to just not play in this game.
- 35:45Speaker 2: But after I think about, it.
- 35:47Speaker 1: I think it's very smart and I think it's showing them that he looks out for the best of their interest.
- 35:52Speaker 2: You've done everything I've asked for you to do.
- 35:54Speaker 1: You know they, if those they're not going to want to quit.
- 35:56Speaker 1: No, I know they're not going to want to quit.
- 35:57Speaker 1: They'll be some of them that will.
- 35:59Speaker 1: That will happen.
- 36:00Speaker 1: That should be the message Like, yeah, and they're not good, they're and it doesn't matter.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I don't care what happens in this game, because it's not going to matter.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Some of them could just be like no, it's not going to matter, I'm going to play.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not going to matter.
- 36:11Speaker 2: It's not going to matter, I don't care what happens in this game.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It does not matter.
- 36:14Speaker 1: You've disgraced the game, you've disrespected the game and you knew it was inevitably about this.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Once, once the bylaws came out, once that they dropped the whole ranking system right, once they moved to.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Let's make it, where 12 people in a room decide this a sport, that they sacrifice their freaking health and their livelihoods.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 1: And at least in NFL they're able to decide on the field.
- 36:42Speaker 1: So these guys are risking injury when they did get injured and now you're penalizing him.
- 36:49Speaker 1: He's going to live.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Oh, he'd let his team down.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Now You're going to tell that guy.
- 36:53Speaker 1: You're not going to preach that you're going to.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Oh no, you step up and you and you know this is sending all the wrong messages.
- 37:00Speaker 1: You'll see all the wrong messages.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I don't want to hear it about best.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Best doesn't matter in front of the integrity of the sport, because bull crap.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now Houston team that lost to NC State and College of basketball was better than they were better.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 37:19Speaker 1: I mean yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 1: What are we doing here?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Hey man, this is a whole new.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It just laughs in the face of anybody like Mike Norbell and I just feel so bad for him, and I know he makes millions of dollars, but when you work so hard at something, yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 1: And he just just threw the integrity of it out and I just feel bad for him as someone who drowned it, drowned out the noise.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Why should he?
- 37:55Speaker 2: Why should he?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Yeah, this is going to.
- 37:58Speaker 1: This goes up there.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I want to say I guess the basketball team, fsu basketball, they didn't get a chance to play in the tournament.
- 38:07Speaker 1: That was different because everybody had to suffer.
- 38:09Speaker 1: That you know it was a shared.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It was a shared suffrage.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Dude, it was a pandemic.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a worldwide pandemic.
- 38:16Speaker 1: This was just a damn sham and it was an absolute sham of the sport and you knew it was inevitable.
- 38:22Speaker 1: In the back of my mind and because you're sitting there listening and like, if you say, for instance, you didn't know anything about football and you were an attorney and you looked at the bylaws and like, well, they're technically not wrong because they're the best and this is how they rank it, but that, what are you playing the game for?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that doesn't make it fun.
- 38:40Speaker 1: That doesn't make the sport fun.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It makes it fun because they're all there's.
- 38:44Speaker 1: It's unpredictable.
- 38:45Speaker 1: We don't, we can't predict who's going to happen.
- 38:48Speaker 2: We play the games.
- 38:49Speaker 2: None of those guys are showing their formula for how they came up with the best.
- 38:52Speaker 1: That's the other thing like those guys we know exactly or transparent about.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Nope, nope.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Why we think this?
- 38:57Speaker 2: These are the best it was the injury.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we hide behind the collective group.
- 39:01Speaker 1: That was the injury.
- 39:01Speaker 1: We hid it behind the narrative that they started pushing.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Immediately you gave and that should have never mattered.
- 39:06Speaker 1: The ESPN gave you an out and there you go, if those other teams run to feed in.
- 39:10Speaker 1: There was five undefeated teams, ok.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Or if there was, they all had one loss, ok.
- 39:15Speaker 1: But just sick, yeah, sick man Bird watching.
- 39:24Speaker 1: And you realize, like, because I mean we're just talking about it, I'm doing the SWAC championship reaction last night.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You know I'll talk to the SWAC commissioner and it's just the reality in sports.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Man, you have a SWAC championship team, that's number five.
- 39:40Speaker 1: You can't host a playoff game, yeah, they can't even host one.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Can't even host one.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Nope, can't even host it because their stadium is not up to capacity or whatever bull crap rule that is, and you have to pay for it.
- 39:55Speaker 1: So no, we're going to go to this bowl game where we're going to make some money by who owe the TV money that the ESPN, because they run the damn sport, exactly.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And it's not about Playing and controlling what you can control, because you can't control the results of what you work for as a fan.
- 40:15Speaker 1: You're going to lose.
- 40:16Speaker 1: It's hard, it's hard, man.
- 40:17Speaker 1: You're going to lose some fans.
- 40:20Speaker 1: You're going to lose some fans.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and you should.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Nobody wants to watch some that's hard to like.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 1: What, what I mean, and I know that people are going to.
- 40:30Speaker 1: It's just sad man and I, and I'd say this to my, say this to Miami if they and I hate Miami, but they're in the ACC and the same thing happened to them, I'd be just as I'd be.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Just I mean if you're a fan of, if you're a fan of any any ACC school or or a B12 or, or, or anybody.
- 40:49Speaker 1: That's not those two big ones, because they got to four, they got four and this is the future.
- 40:54Speaker 1: You got your in a AFC NFC, so get out of the ACC, have to.
- 41:00Speaker 1: What are we doing in here?
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 41:05Speaker 1: There's got to be collusion like oh, this is ridiculous, and I just feel so bad for those players, man, Just feel so bad for a man.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Man, it's four.
- 41:17Speaker 1: What are we going to do?
- 41:18Speaker 1: Man?

- 42:35Speaker 1: But the money created in football is going to be used to fuel the other sports under athletic departments and you're seeing that already.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and basketball, and baseball, and uh.
- 42:51Speaker 2: I encourage everyone to just watch a lot less college football.
