- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hello, hello.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Good morning. Thank you for being here. Thank you.
- 0:05Speaker 4: Join us starting your Wednesday with Ricky, Zach, and Mano
- 0:08Speaker 4: in the morning. Ricky's got those three things for you
- 0:09Speaker 4: presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 0:11Speaker 5: Lionel Richie has been hospitalized. Sources told TMZ that he's
- 0:15Speaker 5: receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation. So it's an irregular heartbeat
- 0:20Speaker 5: that's bothering him and kind of causing him to be
- 0:23Speaker 5: hospitalized now for the third time in the last few months.
- 0:27Speaker 5: He's going to be treated with a minimally invasive surgery.
- 0:31Speaker 5: But the next three tour dates of Lionel and Earth,
- 0:34Speaker 5: Wind & Fire's Sing a Song All Night Long tour
- 0:36Speaker 5: has been canceled due to this health scare.
- 0:40Speaker 1: So hopefully.
- 0:41Speaker 5: This surgery helps and he can be, you know, back
- 0:43Speaker 5: to himself and healthy as can be. Obviously, anything that
- 0:46Speaker 5: has to do with your heart is insanely scary. So
- 0:49Speaker 5: we are wishing him all the best and sending a
- 0:50Speaker 5: lot of positive vibes his way and his family's way.
- 0:53Speaker 5: The Titans Foundation 5K is this Saturday. 5k finishes on
- 0:57Speaker 5: the football field was just pretty sick honestly it's probably
- 1:00Speaker 5: your one chance to actually see the football field cool
- 1:03Speaker 5: uh when you participate in the 5k you get a
- 1:05Speaker 5: tennessee titans game ticket as well so when you participate
- 1:08Speaker 5: you will get a ticket to when they play the
- 1:10Speaker 5: jaguars on november 15th at nissan stadium pretty cool as
- 1:14Speaker 5: well even cooler when you think about the fact that
- 1:16Speaker 5: this is the last season that they will be playing
- 1:18Speaker 5: at this stadium because the new stadium is supposed to
- 1:21Speaker 5: be ready by next season so this could also be
- 1:24Speaker 5: your last chance to see the titans at the old
- 1:26Speaker 5: stadium You can sign up to participate in the 5K
- 1:30Speaker 5: and their goal to raise $ 10, 000 in donations to advanced
- 1:34Speaker 5: programming to empower the next generation of Titans, both on
- 1:36Speaker 5: the field and in the classroom, as well as the community.
- 1:40Speaker 5: You just go on to their website. You can search
- 1:42Speaker 5: Titan Citation 5K in Google and you can find exactly
- 1:45Speaker 5: where you need to sign up. Duncan and L.O. Bean
- 1:47Speaker 5: have launched a collab. Yesterday, customers were able to get
- 1:51Speaker 5: a limited edition Duncan L.O. Bean bird's eye sweater cup
- 1:54Speaker 5: sleeve when you got your coffee order. So if you
- 1:57Speaker 5: saw people walking around with little sweaters on their coffee,
- 2:00Speaker 5: that's why. They were very cute. While you may have
- 2:03Speaker 5: missed that, there's more to come. So next Tuesday is
- 2:05Speaker 5: National Coffee Day. It's the national launch of L.O. Bean
- 2:09Speaker 5: and Duncan's product collaboration that you can buy online. And
- 2:13Speaker 5: there is a second limited edition coffee accessory giveaway.
- 2:16Speaker 2: The L.L.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Bean coffee tote. And it's exactly what you think it is.
- 2:20Speaker 5: It's a tiny little tote that you stick your coffee in.
- 2:22Speaker 5: It's quite adorable, honestly. I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are
- 2:26Speaker 5: the three things you need to know.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Thank you very much, Ricky Sanchez.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Getting back into the music with Bruno Mars. We do
- 2:31Speaker 4: have another chance for you to win your way into
- 2:32Speaker 4: our big Jingle Ball announcement party happening Friday morning at
- 2:36Speaker 4: the radio station. That's coming up for the first caller
- 2:39Speaker 4: of the day. Let me do some quick math here.
- 2:41Speaker 4: About six minutes, we'll ask you to call.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:46Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River. This is Benson Boone.
- 2:49Speaker 3: It's The River.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Kristen in Mount Juliet is on the phone right now. Kristen,
- 2:52Speaker 4: what are you doing this morning?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Tell us everything.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I am on the way to the gym, and then
- 2:58Speaker 6: I'll head to work at Zach's alma mater, where I'm
- 3:01Speaker 6: a high school counselor.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Bear pride not really high, honey.
- 3:06Speaker 6: And you're going to help me with something in a
- 3:08Speaker 6: few weeks as well. So you're my celebrity judge for
- 3:12Speaker 6: Lip Sync Battle.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I'm so excited, honestly.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Oh, that sounds exciting.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Yeah, so that's one of the chances that I get through.
- 3:18Speaker 6: I mean, amazing, amazing. So we're super psyched.
- 3:22Speaker 7: Have you, you're going to draw a big crowd.
- 3:25Speaker 5: No pressure or anything, Kristen.
- 3:27Speaker 8: I am just going to say I am so proud
- 3:29Speaker 8: of you for getting up and going to the gym
- 3:31Speaker 8: so early.
- 3:32Speaker 3: That is dedication at its finest.
- 3:35Speaker 7: I'm just two weeks into this, so we'll see how
- 3:38Speaker 7: it goes.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Two weeks is more than I'm doing.
- 3:40Speaker 5: That's still a start. You got to start somewhere, Kristen.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Well, thank y'all.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Well, hey, I want to go back to this lip
- 3:45Speaker 4: sync battle real quick. Who else is judging it? Do
- 3:47Speaker 4: we have some other famous alumni there?
- 3:49Speaker 6: Celebrity panel this year includes Carrie Sharp from News Channel 5.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I believe.
- 3:55Speaker 7: It's Mount Juliet High School choir teacher because.
- 3:58Speaker 6: He's going to be able to judge whether or not.
- 4:00Speaker 7: People actually know what they're doing.
- 4:03Speaker 6: And then we have celebrity bartenders. So local people around
- 4:07Speaker 6: town are going to be raising tips for our sweet
- 4:09Speaker 6: children in Haiti.
- 4:10Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Yeah. So I'm getting my act ready.
- 4:14Speaker 7: That's why I need to go to the gym.
- 4:16Speaker 6: Because last year we did Salt-N-Pepa, and my friend and
- 4:19Speaker 6: I have something bigger planned.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Performing.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Yes, not to give it away, but we did a
- 4:26Speaker 6: mom version of Salt-N-Pepa's.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Push It last year.
- 4:30Speaker 7: And I'll do anything for the children of Haiti.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I love that.
- 4:33Speaker 5: That's amazing. I'm also so happy that you got through to.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yes, so come out and see him.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Well, I'm glad you said this because Zach has not
- 4:40Speaker 5: told us about this yet. I think he's been waiting.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I think he's been waiting. Well, I don't have an
- 4:44Speaker 3: outfit or anything.
- 4:45Speaker 7: We've got less than a month away, so we've got
- 4:47Speaker 7: to start spreading the word.
- 4:49Speaker 5: That's great. That's why we're happy that you called. We're
- 4:50Speaker 5: happy that you're here to spread the word so anybody
- 4:53Speaker 5: can go to this. Anybody in the public can experience this.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Yes, and it's a community open event. It's a lip
- 4:59Speaker 6: sync battle because we don't want karaoke. Not everybody can
- 5:02Speaker 6: do that, but we can all lip sync. And all
- 5:05Speaker 6: the tips and votes.
- 5:07Speaker 7: And everything goes to a local children's.
- 5:10Speaker 6: Charity that was started by my friend, Hannah Clark.
- 5:12Speaker 5: A Mount Juliet mom.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 5:14Speaker 5: We love that so much. We're also, Kristen, we're excited
- 5:17Speaker 5: for that, but we're excited to tell you that you're
- 5:18Speaker 5: the first caller of the day this morning on 107.5
- 5:20Speaker 5: The River.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Are you serious? That means that you have won your
- 5:25Speaker 5: way into our Jingle Ball lineup announcement party. So you're
- 5:28Speaker 5: going to hear who's coming to the very first Music
- 5:31Speaker 5: City Jingle Ball before anybody else. And you're going to
- 5:34Speaker 5: have a chance to win tickets into Jingle Ball.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Unbelievable.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 7: I'm going to have to take off work for this.
- 5:40Speaker 3: At least a little bit in the morning.
- 5:41Speaker 7: High school's going to have to let me take a
- 5:42Speaker 7: personal day.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Sure.
- 5:44Speaker 3: At least a couple hours Friday morning. We will see
- 5:46Speaker 3: you at the station. Congratulations.
- 5:47Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 5:48Speaker 7: The kids can wait for me then. Thank you.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Thank you. We'll put you on hold to get all
- 5:53Speaker 3: your information. Hang on, okay?
- 5:54Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Thank y'all. Of course. Have a great day, love.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Another chance to win your win. Well, a few more
- 6:00Speaker 4: throughout the day today, but same time tomorrow.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Having neighbors is such an interesting experience in life. Something
- 6:07Speaker 5: you can't avoid for the most part. And something that
- 6:10Speaker 5: now Kevin is having trouble with. It's Ricky, Zach, and
- 6:13Speaker 5: Mano in the morning on 107.5 The River. What's going
- 6:16Speaker 5: on with you and your neighbors? Because I can almost
- 6:18Speaker 5: guarantee it's your fault.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 6:21Speaker 4: So we live in a cul-de-sac, and across the street,
- 6:25Speaker 4: there's like a long driveway and then a house up there,
- 6:26Speaker 4: and it's this couple. They just had a baby, so
- 6:28Speaker 4: the grandma moved in, and she's living in their apartment
- 6:30Speaker 4: above the garage.
- 6:32Speaker 2: She's very nice.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I've had all these interactions with her. She's a lovely lady.
- 6:34Speaker 3: She's very, very nice.
- 6:35Speaker 4: But she sent us a text the other day saying
- 6:38Speaker 4: it was this long thing about how, like, would you
- 6:40Speaker 4: mind turning off your exterior lights at night because it
- 6:42Speaker 4: could disrupt? birds migration patterns and all the stuff about
- 6:46Speaker 4: the birds.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Okay, but at the end of the text, it.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Said like, plus the lights kind of keep me up
- 6:51Speaker 4: at night. And so we were like, is this about
- 6:53Speaker 4: the birds or is this about you? There was a
- 6:55Speaker 4: long preamble about birds before you let us know that
- 6:58Speaker 4: the lights are bothering you.
- 6:59Speaker 3: So we responded very nicely.
- 7:01Speaker 4: We were like, oh, I'm so sorry that's happening. We'll
- 7:03Speaker 4: look into the bird thing. We didn't know about that.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Just so you guys know, we have very minimal lighting outside.
- 7:07Speaker 4: We have like a porch light and then another one
- 7:09Speaker 4: over by the garage, okay? It's nothing extreme by any
- 7:12Speaker 4: means and there's nothing pointed in her direction. We were like,
- 7:15Speaker 4: unfortunately we like our exterior lights on because it's for safety.
- 7:18Speaker 4: You're a lot less likely to get intruders or prowlers
- 7:20Speaker 4: if you have some sort of illumination outside.
- 7:22Speaker 3: But we will look at it. We will see what's
- 7:24Speaker 3: shining in your direction.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Then she sent us back this long text about how
- 7:28Speaker 4: she likes to sleep with the door open and the
- 7:30Speaker 4: curtains open to feel the breeze and she can't do
- 7:32Speaker 4: that because of the light.
- 7:34Speaker 5: This is the grandma?
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Okay. At this point, I was like, is that our fault, though? Like,
- 7:40Speaker 3: get a sleep mask or something, right?
- 7:41Speaker 1: I mean.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Kevin.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Well, look, there's no spotlight shining in her direction.
- 7:45Speaker 3: It's just a couple lights on for security purposes. Kevin,
- 7:48Speaker 3: number one, you have to respect your elders, okay? Number two,
- 7:52Speaker 3: you have to be a respectful neighbor.
- 7:54Speaker 8: If you are ruining their life, the last thing you
- 7:56Speaker 8: want is a grouchy old lady because she didn't sleep
- 7:59Speaker 8: all night long.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah, but you live in a society with other people.
- 8:03Speaker 4: There's a street with houses.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Correct. You live in a society with other people. That
- 8:07Speaker 3: means you have to be respectful of them as well.
- 8:09Speaker 8: If your home across the street is inconveniencing her, that
- 8:14Speaker 8: is your fault.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I think you're just trying to argue just for argument's
- 8:18Speaker 4: sake here.
- 8:18Speaker 3: No, I'm on Granny's side.
- 8:21Speaker 5: It is kind of weird that she sleeps with the
- 8:23Speaker 5: door and the windows open. That sounds like a Prowler's favorite.
- 8:29Speaker 3: She's up above a garage. She's not street level. It's
- 8:32Speaker 3: still weird.
- 8:33Speaker 5: You've got to get into said garage at some point.
- 8:36Speaker 5: It's just weird to me that she does that to
- 8:38Speaker 5: begin with. But, I mean, unfortunately, I agree with Kevin
- 8:43Speaker 5: that if none of the lights are actually pointed... In
- 8:46Speaker 5: her direction, this sounds more like a her problem than
- 8:48Speaker 5: a them at all.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I mean, clearly they are pointed in her direction. They're not, though.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I promise you that. It's bothering her that much.
- 8:53Speaker 4: And we went out, we looked, we stood over in
- 8:54Speaker 4: their driveway, like nothing was pointed in the direction of
- 8:57Speaker 4: their house. It's just a couple lights that are, sure,
- 8:59Speaker 4: they're illuminating our house and like probably creating a little
- 9:02Speaker 4: bit of light outside, but we're not the only people
- 9:03Speaker 4: on the block with exterior lights at night.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Honestly, I'm more concerned about the birds than I am granny.
- 9:08Speaker 5: You do need to look into that. The birds have
- 9:12Speaker 5: enough to deal with with the climate change and everything
- 9:14Speaker 5: like that. Don't be an added thing for the poor birds.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I want to take care of the birds. I promise
- 9:18Speaker 3: you I do. But I started wondering, like, did she.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Just Google reasons to turn off your exterior lights and, like,
- 9:25Speaker 4: find that and send that before she let us know
- 9:27Speaker 4: how it was affecting her?
- 9:28Speaker 2: Most likely.
- 9:28Speaker 3: That's kind of what it feels like. It was a
- 9:30Speaker 3: weird way of approaching it.
- 9:31Speaker 8: Well, I'm just saying, according to Google AI overview, yes,
- 9:35Speaker 8: light pollution does affect bird migration, and it can disorient
- 9:39Speaker 8: them and also drain their energy, leading to fatal structural collisions.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Let's not cite Google AI.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Overview as a source that we trust around here. Let's
- 9:48Speaker 3: not get in that habit.
- 9:49Speaker 5: I'm just saying, I'm more worried about the birds. I
- 9:51Speaker 5: feel like there's a compromise here, though, Kev. I think
- 9:53Speaker 5: you guys can compromise on something. That's what this is
- 9:56Speaker 5: all about. That's what having neighbors is about, is compromising, unfortunately.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Even if they seem wacky and don't make any sense.
- 10:02Speaker 3: She's a lovely lady. I don't want to call her wacky.
- 10:04Speaker 3: She's very nice.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I've already called her wacky.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Motion sensor lights. So they stay off.
- 10:10Speaker 8: That way you still have the safety in case anybody
- 10:12Speaker 8: does come on your property, then they turn on.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Honestly, Zach.
- 10:15Speaker 5: A compromise.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Thank you for that. That compromise is something I can actually...
- 10:18Speaker 3: Look at me go.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Accomplish?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Thank you for that. We'll look into it.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Now everybody loves each other again on the cul-de-sac.
- 10:24Speaker 4: I wonder if the birds will set off the motion-activated
- 10:26Speaker 4: lights when they're migrating over my house.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Anyway, I'll look into all this. Thank you guys for
- 10:30Speaker 3: hearing me out.
- 10:31Speaker 5: I'm genuinely worried about the birds.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Here we go. Just after 7 o'clock on this Wednesday morning.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Thank you for starting your day with us.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Ricky's got those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Taylor Swift has announced a new single. Fans noticed yesterday
- 10:45Speaker 5: that Taylor had updated her profile on Instagram to add
- 10:49Speaker 5: zeros to the O's in the words in her profile bio. Luckily,
- 10:54Speaker 5: they didn't have to wait long for her to announce
- 10:55Speaker 5: that she is releasing a new single this Friday called
- 10:58Speaker 5: Patient Zero. She showed a post to Instagram saying that
- 11:01Speaker 5: she's been patiently waiting to share this news. Or impatiently
- 11:04Speaker 5: waiting to share this news.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Get it?
- 11:05Speaker 5: Patient Zero.
- 11:07Speaker 2: But.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Obviously, we're going to play it on 107.5 The River.
- 11:10Speaker 5: We're all excited to hear it. I am going insane
- 11:13Speaker 5: reading all of the theories about what this means because
- 11:16Speaker 5: she made a point to say that this is a
- 11:18Speaker 5: brand new single, okay? Normally, if it's a vault track,
- 11:22Speaker 5: she says it's a vault track. This is brand new.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Does this mean a new album? Does this mean that
- 11:27Speaker 5: this is an encore album with only a few songs?
- 11:31Speaker 5: Because that's a theory that's out there. Does this mean
- 11:34Speaker 5: that this is the death of a showgirl? Which was
- 11:37Speaker 5: a theory when Life of a Showgirl came out that
- 11:40Speaker 5: this was a two-parter. But she also said these were
- 11:42Speaker 5: the only songs from Life of a Showgirl. So I
- 11:44Speaker 5: don't know if that meant just because Death of a
- 11:47Speaker 5: Showgirl is separate or if it means that that whole
- 11:49Speaker 5: era is done. We just don't know. And I'm going
- 11:53Speaker 5: insane reading all of the theories.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:58Speaker 5: This is the first time that I feel completely clueless,
- 12:00Speaker 5: but we will see on Friday what it sounds like.
- 12:02Speaker 5: We're very excited to play it for you. All Hallows
- 12:05Speaker 5: East is happening in Five Points on October 31st. This
- 12:09Speaker 5: Halloween block party runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- 12:11Speaker 5: It's free to attend, and it's intended to bring the
- 12:14Speaker 5: community together through DJs, contests, trick-or-treating, food, spooky surprises, costumes,
- 12:20Speaker 5: all that good stuff, all ages. So go show up
- 12:24Speaker 5: and celebrate one of the best holidays ever. God, I
- 12:27Speaker 5: love Halloween. And it's starting to feel like actual spooky
- 12:30Speaker 5: season now, and the weather is getting nicer now. And
- 12:33Speaker 5: I'm so thrilled about it. I'm also so thrilled about this.
- 12:36Speaker 5: It's officially Fat Bear Week. My favorite time of the year.
- 12:41Speaker 5: 16 very large and cuddly brown bears are battling to
- 12:46Speaker 5: be named the Fat Bear of the Year. This started
- 12:50Speaker 5: so fans can vote for their favorite resident of Alaska's
- 12:52Speaker 5: Katmai National Park. So Chunk, who won last year, defending champ,
- 12:58Speaker 5: is in the running this year. Last year, he was
- 13:01Speaker 5: estimated to weigh 1,200 pounds by the time that he
- 13:05Speaker 5: went into hibernation.
- 13:06Speaker 3: So there's lots.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Of big boys and big gals on the list this year.
- 13:09Speaker 5: They spent the summer packing on weight by eating salmon
- 13:12Speaker 5: ahead of hibernation. Like I said, they're pretty big. 1,200
- 13:15Speaker 5: pounds is massive. You can go to fatbearweek.org to vote.
- 13:19Speaker 5: The winner is said to be announced September 29th. Right now,
- 13:23Speaker 5: my money's on 910. He doesn't have a name yet,
- 13:27Speaker 5: but 910.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Wait, that's not his name? 910?
- 13:30Speaker 5: Well, he doesn't have like a name name. They give
- 13:31Speaker 5: them numbers because they're tracking them.
- 13:33Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:34Speaker 3: My money's on 910 as well. I trust you. You
- 13:37Speaker 3: got to do your thing.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Oh, I'm Ricky Sanchez. Those are the three things you
- 13:40Speaker 5: need to know.
- 13:41Speaker 3: There you go. It doesn't feel right if you don't
- 13:43Speaker 3: do it.
- 13:43Speaker 5: I was looking at the fat bear.
- 13:45Speaker 4: After Dracula, we're learning together. Zach's Facts, next on The River.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Class is in session.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Zach's Facts, brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 13:54Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 13:56Speaker 8: Well, because Ricky just told us that it is indeed
- 13:58Speaker 8: Fat Bear Week, I have a fact about brown bears.
- 14:01Speaker 8: Did you guys know that they can run up to
- 14:03Speaker 8: 35 to 40 miles per hour?
- 14:05Speaker 3: That's way too fast. It is like about the same
- 14:08Speaker 3: as like a racing horse.
- 14:10Speaker 5: That's actually wild when you compare it like that.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 8: So if you ever try and outrun a bear, good
- 14:15Speaker 8: luck because the fastest human ever was Usain Bolt at
- 14:19Speaker 8: 27 miles per hour.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 14:20Speaker 5: So good luck.
- 14:21Speaker 3: They're faster than him?
- 14:22Speaker 5: But they're so cute and cuddly. And, like, if not friend,
- 14:26Speaker 5: why friendship?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Cute and cuddly?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Rick, you're going to get mauled.
- 14:31Speaker 1: They are.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Teddy bears. You cannot tell me that I am insane
- 14:36Speaker 5: because we give kids teddy bears and we say, good
- 14:38Speaker 5: on your teddy bear. And then when they get older,
- 14:39Speaker 5: we go, but don't touch the real bears.
- 14:42Speaker 3: What do you mean? Way different. This hurts my head,
- 14:44Speaker 3: but there's your fact of the day. Don't try and
- 14:46Speaker 3: outrun a bear. Or cuddle them.
- 14:48Speaker 5: I'm going to cuddle one.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 14:51Speaker 3: We are going to take a poll right now, and
- 14:53Speaker 3: we need your input.
- 14:54Speaker 4: 615-737-9107. That's our phone number. It's 107.5 The River.
- 14:59Speaker 3: We want to know how you greet a stranger.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Do you?
- 15:02Speaker 3: These are your options.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Shake hands. Hug or kiss them on the lips?
- 15:07Speaker 3: Oh, plant a big old fat one.
- 15:08Speaker 5: There's a reason why we're asking. There was a poll
- 15:11Speaker 5: already taken. We want to know if this matches that poll. 615-737-9107.
- 15:17Speaker 5: Those are your only three options. Shake hands, hug, or
- 15:20Speaker 5: kiss them on the lips. What do you do the
- 15:22Speaker 5: first time you meet someone?
- 15:24Speaker 2: 107.5 The River.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 15:28Speaker 5: We just took a little bit of a poll on 107.5
- 15:30Speaker 5: The River. We asked you to call in. Your options were...
- 15:34Speaker 5: Shake hands, hug, or kiss them on the lips for
- 15:36Speaker 5: when you first meet someone. This is the very first time,
- 15:39Speaker 5: total stranger. There's a reason why we asked such an
- 15:42Speaker 5: insane question with a very insane option on this. Because
- 15:46Speaker 5: Kevin found this poll. They did this poll for all
- 15:50Speaker 5: of Americans, like across the country, and asked them, you know,
- 15:53Speaker 5: when you first meet someone, what do you do? Do
- 15:55Speaker 5: you shake hands?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Do you hug?
- 15:57Speaker 3: Do you kiss them on the lips?
- 15:57Speaker 5: What's your vibe?
- 15:58Speaker 4: Well, we couldn't believe that the results of the poll
- 16:01Speaker 4: were 1% of respondents said they kiss a stranger on
- 16:05Speaker 4: the lips. And that is too big of a percentage.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I feel like that's just like a European thing.
- 16:11Speaker 2: No.
- 16:12Speaker 3: That's even cheek. That's a cheek.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 5: They don't kiss you on. Nobody kisses you on the
- 16:16Speaker 5: mouth except for an absolute creep. And we are very
- 16:18Speaker 5: happy to say that the people who called in, the
- 16:21Speaker 5: majority of them said, I shake their hands.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Like you shake their hand and then you introduce yourself.
- 16:27Speaker 5: That is a normal, polite, you know, a pleasantry that
- 16:30Speaker 5: we do in America. And then after that, they said hug,
- 16:34Speaker 5: which I think is normal. I hug people when I
- 16:36Speaker 5: first meet strangers.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm a hugger.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Of strangers.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Like, if you're meeting a friend of a friend or,
- 16:43Speaker 4: you know, somebody, you'll go in for the hug right away.
- 16:45Speaker 9: 100%.
- 16:45Speaker 8: And I always preface it with, like, hey, so nice
- 16:48Speaker 8: to meet you.
- 16:49Speaker 3: By the way, I'm a hugger. And then I go
- 16:50Speaker 3: in for a hug.
- 16:51Speaker 5: And honestly, if I'm in New Jersey, I even kiss
- 16:53Speaker 5: them on the cheek because that's a very normal thing
- 16:54Speaker 5: to do in Jersey.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: No way.
- 16:57Speaker 3: No wonder you're always sick. You kiss a stranger on
- 17:01Speaker 3: the cheek.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Yeah, cheek to cheek.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Wait, what?
- 17:04Speaker 4: But are your lips touching? I never understood the fake
- 17:06Speaker 4: kiss thing. It's like a fake kiss.
- 17:08Speaker 5: But it's just a pleasantry. But you hug and you
- 17:11Speaker 5: cheek to cheek. You kiss each other kind of thing.
- 17:14Speaker 3: You kiss the air sort of next to them.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 5: I don't hate that. You kiss your cheek, but it's
- 17:18Speaker 5: not really like... put a wet one on your cheek
- 17:21Speaker 5: and i don't really know you but yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 4: That's like what we do a lot i'm not going
- 17:25Speaker 4: to criticize your cultural lifestyle over there in jersey how.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Do you guys free of new jersey.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Be completely honest how do you greet your partners every
- 17:32Speaker 4: day when you see them like after work or then
- 17:34Speaker 4: when they get home or something kiss yeah every single time.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Every single day every day that aj comes home he
- 17:40Speaker 5: has to kiss me okay yeah me too no kevin
- 17:43Speaker 5: you're lying it's usually just the way that you just
- 17:46Speaker 5: said that it's usually.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Just a hey from across the room yeah kevin is
- 17:49Speaker 3: like walks in.
- 17:50Speaker 5: You guys you guys are keeping that sparkle out huh
- 17:54Speaker 5: Maybe today when I go home, big, big time kiss.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I'll film it for you guys.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Whoa, what's that?
- 17:58Speaker 5: We don't need it filmed.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Please don't film it.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I don't want to see that. I don't need to
- 18:02Speaker 5: see that. I think that's normal that when your significant
- 18:05Speaker 5: other comes home, they kiss you.
- 18:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. I agree.
- 18:09Speaker 3: That's why I do it too.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 18:12Speaker 5: It's Kevin Mano's game of the day on 107.5 The River.
- 18:15Speaker 5: We're playing jingles for Jingle Ball because as we have announced,
- 18:18Speaker 5: we are getting our very first 107.5 The River Jingle Ball.
- 18:22Speaker 5: We are so pumped about it. The lineup comes out
- 18:24Speaker 5: 8 a.m. right here on Ricky, Zach, and Mano in
- 18:27Speaker 5: the morning. But on Friday. But we have a huge
- 18:30Speaker 5: announcement party we're throwing. Jeff in Kingston Springs. If you
- 18:34Speaker 5: win this game, you're going to come to our announce party.
- 18:37Speaker 5: You're going to hear the lineup before anybody else. And
- 18:38Speaker 5: you're going to have a chance to win the first
- 18:40Speaker 5: tickets into our Jingle Ball.
- 18:43Speaker 3: All right, let's do it. Let's do it. Buddy, have
- 18:45Speaker 3: you heard this game at all this week?
- 18:46Speaker 6: I actually haven't.
- 18:47Speaker 3: I've got four daughters I drive to school.
- 18:49Speaker 7: And today I'm not.
- 18:50Speaker 3: So they're not with me, but wish me luck. Okay. Well,
- 18:54Speaker 3: good luck with the four daughters. That's a lot. And
- 18:56Speaker 3: good luck with the game. Here's how it works. It
- 18:58Speaker 3: is Jingles for Jingle Ball.
- 19:00Speaker 4: One of us, Ricky, Zach, or myself, you get to
- 19:03Speaker 4: choose who, will hum jingles at you, like commercial jingles
- 19:07Speaker 4: that we all know, just humming them at you.
- 19:09Speaker 3: You have to identify two out of three of them
- 19:11Speaker 3: to win your way in, okay?
- 19:13Speaker 5: All right, let's go.
- 19:14Speaker 4: So far, Monday and Tuesday, both people picked Ricky and
- 19:17Speaker 4: both people won.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Ricky's very good at this.
- 19:19Speaker 4: So now you get to pick. Do you want Ricky, Zach,
- 19:21Speaker 4: or myself to hum to you?
- 19:23Speaker 2: Let's go Ricky and keep it going here. Let's keep
- 19:25Speaker 2: it going.
- 19:28Speaker 5: All right, Jeff, are you focused?
- 19:29Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 19:30Speaker 5: Are you locked in?
- 19:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 5: All right, I'm going to hum the first one now. Okay.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Liberty, liberty, liberty.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Oh, yes. Liberty Mutual. Liberty Mutual. Great job. Great job. Ricky,
- 19:49Speaker 3: when you're ready. jingle number two. Okay. Do you want
- 19:58Speaker 3: it again? Do you want her to do it one
- 19:59Speaker 3: more time?
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Okay. Oh, my God. I have no idea.
- 20:07Speaker 3: No guesses?
- 20:08Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 20:08Speaker 3: That doesn't do anything for you?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 20:15Speaker 3: That one was Ricola. Remember the Ricola commercials with the.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Great product.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a great product. Great humming job, Ricky. All right,
- 20:25Speaker 3: you need this one for the win.
- 20:27Speaker 4: If you want to stay alive and come to our
- 20:28Speaker 4: party on Friday, Ricky, jingle number three.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 20:37Speaker 2: All right. Let's do overtime.
- 20:41Speaker 5: You got this one, Jeff.
- 20:42Speaker 3: You got this one.
- 20:43Speaker 5: It's an older product. This has been a classic jingle
- 20:46Speaker 5: for so long, Jeff. I'm going to do it one
- 20:49Speaker 5: more time, okay?
- 20:49Speaker 2: All right. All right.
- 20:56Speaker 7: Klondike Bar!
- 20:57Speaker 3: It was the second time hearing it in ClickForum. Way
- 21:01Speaker 3: to go, man.
- 21:02Speaker 2: You're awesome.
- 21:03Speaker 5: I appreciate y'all.
- 21:04Speaker 2: We appreciate you. Hang on, Jeff.
- 21:06Speaker 3: We're going to get all your information. We'll see you Friday, okay?
- 21:09Speaker 2: I appreciate you. Thank you so much.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Ricky, I appreciate you. I know you're really, this is
- 21:12Speaker 3: taking a lot out of you every morning.
- 21:14Speaker 8: So I'm so thankful to keep choosing you because it
- 21:16Speaker 8: gives me so much anxiety every time.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I will say I feel very honored that everyone keeps
- 21:20Speaker 5: picking me.
- 21:21Speaker 3: So I'm holding on to that.
- 21:22Speaker 4: So far, you're batting a thousand here. We're playing again tomorrow.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Same time if you want to win your way in.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 21:29Speaker 3: All right, let's go. Good morning. Thank you for starting
- 21:31Speaker 3: it with us.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Ricky's got those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Ella Langley officially has the longest running number one song
- 21:38Speaker 5: on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She beat out Mariah
- 21:41Speaker 5: Carey for this honor. Her song Choose in Texas has
- 21:44Speaker 5: been number one on the chart for 23 weeks, which
- 21:47Speaker 5: beats out Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You,
- 21:50Speaker 5: which held number one for 22 weeks in December of
- 21:53Speaker 5: last year. So congrats to Ella on the new record. Obviously,
- 21:57Speaker 5: this is something that they've been working towards and she's
- 21:59Speaker 5: gotten closer and closer each week and it's finally happened.
- 22:02Speaker 5: So congrats to her. You've heard of Oktoberfest, but now
- 22:06Speaker 5: I present to you. Docktoberfest.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Dock?
- 22:10Speaker 5: I think that's how you say it. It's hard because it's...
- 22:12Speaker 5: Or Dashtoberfest because it's Dash Hounds.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Like Dachshunds? The beginning.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Yeah, like that.
- 22:19Speaker 3: That's a confusing word.
- 22:21Speaker 5: It's very confusing. But it's all about the wiener dogs, okay?
- 22:24Speaker 5: That's what this is for. This Saturday at Urban Dog Bar,
- 22:27Speaker 5: they are celebrating all things wiener dogs, okay? They're raising
- 22:30Speaker 5: money for the rescue with an open bar, weenie races,
- 22:34Speaker 5: costume contests... silent auctions, a DJ, everything that you can imagine.
- 22:39Speaker 5: It's a ticketed event. You can grab tickets for them
- 22:42Speaker 5: at their events section on their website, urban bar or urbandogbar.com.
- 22:49Speaker 5: It's all for a good cause. We love to see
- 22:51Speaker 5: a good cause. And honestly, there's something about those little
- 22:53Speaker 5: wiener dogs when they race that is so funny to
- 22:55Speaker 5: me with their little tiny legs. I love it so much.
- 22:59Speaker 5: And drinking has decreased for the first time since the pandemic,
- 23:04Speaker 5: for most people at least. Alcohol consumption among Gen Z
- 23:08Speaker 5: and millennials has declined, but adults age 50 to 64
- 23:11Speaker 5: saw a 36% increase in heavy drinking since 2018. Women
- 23:16Speaker 5: experienced a larger decline in heavy drinking than men, while
- 23:20Speaker 5: Gen Z saw the biggest drop in overall alcohol use,
- 23:23Speaker 5: according to this new study. And obviously, that's great news
- 23:26Speaker 5: for everybody, because as much as we love a drink,
- 23:29Speaker 5: Kevin and I love a drink, obviously, too much of
- 23:32Speaker 5: something is never a good idea.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Correct.
- 23:35Speaker 5: I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three things you
- 23:37Speaker 5: need to know.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 23:41Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 23:43Speaker 5: What is your most useless skill? It's Ricky, Zach, and
- 23:46Speaker 5: Mano in the morning on 107.5 The River. We do
- 23:48Speaker 5: want to hear yours, but first, we have to hear
- 23:51Speaker 5: Zach's completely useless skill that I don't even know why
- 23:55Speaker 5: you started.
- 23:57Speaker 1: To know these things?
- 23:58Speaker 8: I'm just saying I feel like it's useless, but also
- 24:00Speaker 8: I'm really proud of myself because whenever there is a
- 24:03Speaker 8: car behind me, I can tell what kind of car
- 24:06Speaker 8: it is just based on their headlights.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Like in the rear view mirror.
- 24:09Speaker 8: If I look, I can literally be like, oh, that's
- 24:11Speaker 8: a Toyota Corolla.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Do you mean, hold on, do you mean at night
- 24:14Speaker 4: when their lights are on or just any time of
- 24:16Speaker 4: day you just look and you just see the lights,
- 24:18Speaker 4: like the grill of the car and you.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Can tell what it is?
- 24:20Speaker 5: When it's daytime, you can see what.
- 24:22Speaker 3: The car is. Well, that's a good point. That's a
- 24:24Speaker 3: good point.
- 24:24Speaker 8: So especially at night, like I can see like just
- 24:27Speaker 8: based on the headlights of what kind of car it is.
- 24:30Speaker 8: And I think where it started from is, I'm always
- 24:32Speaker 8: terrified of being pulled over.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Well, you're a terrible driver, so that makes sense.
- 24:36Speaker 8: And so I was just analyzing the headlights to make
- 24:38Speaker 8: sure that it was not a police car behind me.
- 24:40Speaker 5: He's being sneaky about it.
- 24:42Speaker 3: I respect it, Zach.
- 24:44Speaker 5: I respect it.
- 24:44Speaker 3: You're such a gearhead.
- 24:46Speaker 4: You know everything about cars. You can just identify any
- 24:48Speaker 4: car based on that. Yeah, that's me, car guy over here.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Clearly.
- 24:53Speaker 4: If I had to pick a useless talent for myself,
- 24:56Speaker 4: I was thinking about this. I think I'm really good,
- 24:58Speaker 4: and obviously I'm looking at clocks right now, but I'm
- 25:01Speaker 4: really good about knowing what time it is without looking
- 25:04Speaker 4: at anything.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Like, if you ask me, like, what time do you
- 25:06Speaker 3: think it is? What do you mean? I feel like
- 25:08Speaker 3: I could come within three or four minutes.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Are you trying to say you're psychic?
- 25:11Speaker 3: No, I just feel.
- 25:12Speaker 4: I can feel it, like how much day has passed
- 25:15Speaker 4: and what time it is.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I can usually come within a few minutes of the
- 25:18Speaker 3: exact time.
- 25:19Speaker 8: I will say, to be fair, Kevin, you are on
- 25:21Speaker 8: your phone 24-7, so it's not like you miss a
- 25:24Speaker 8: minute on the clock.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that might be it, too. So you're like, okay,
- 25:26Speaker 3: it's been like five minutes. No, I want to test this.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I'm going to.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Put my phone away for an entire day, and I'll
- 25:33Speaker 4: be able to tell you. I'll be just like wandering around.
- 25:35Speaker 4: I can tell by where the sun is in the
- 25:37Speaker 4: sky or something.
- 25:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Also, how are you going to tell us if you
- 25:40Speaker 5: don't have your phone with you?
- 25:42Speaker 1: We got to.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Figure out the details here, guys. We're not, you know,
- 25:45Speaker 4: we'll hammer that stuff out later.
- 25:46Speaker 5: We're in a studio where our whole, like, thing is
- 25:48Speaker 5: that we need to know timing.
- 25:49Speaker 4: I'm saying let's pick a day where we go wander
- 25:52Speaker 4: around in a desert, and I bet you.
- 25:54Speaker 5: I can do a pretty good job.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Deal.
- 25:55Speaker 1: 615-737-9107.
- 25:56Speaker 4: If you have a useless skill, like Zach and myself,
- 25:57Speaker 4: we want to hear about it.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 26:06Speaker 5: We've heard from both Kevin and Zach about their useless skills,
- 26:10Speaker 5: but now we want to hear from Sondra. Welcome to 107.5
- 26:12Speaker 5: The River.
- 26:13Speaker 3: What can you do?
- 26:14Speaker 7: I don't know if it's useless or not, but.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I just, people think it's crazy, but I just, I.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Don't trust alarm clocks. And I never, ever, ever in
- 26:22Speaker 7: all my life, over 50, use an alarm clock.
- 26:25Speaker 5: But you wake up at the right time every morning?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Every morning.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Every morning.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Whether it be 4 o'clock in the morning, whether it
- 26:31Speaker 7: be 7 o'clock in the morning, sometimes I got to
- 26:33Speaker 7: get up at 3, if I have a 6 o'clock flight.
- 26:35Speaker 7: I travel all the time.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I've worked all my life. And I think it's the
- 26:39Speaker 3: craziest thing to rely on an alarm clock.
- 26:41Speaker 5: No way.
- 26:42Speaker 3: It's way crazier to rely on your own body.
- 26:44Speaker 2: That's nuts.
- 26:46Speaker 1: No.
- 26:46Speaker 5: I just think it's... I said, how could you rely.
- 26:48Speaker 6: On something that might die?
- 26:50Speaker 7: The battery may go off. I mean, ever since I
- 26:52Speaker 7: was a teenager, I cannot.
- 26:53Speaker 3: I never, ever, ever use an alarm clock.
- 26:56Speaker 7: Girl, if I.
- 26:57Speaker 8: had to rely on my body or my brain to
- 26:59Speaker 8: wake me up, I would be late to everything.
- 27:01Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Like, there's no way.
- 27:03Speaker 5: This is a useful skill.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Sure.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Is it useful? I don't know.
- 27:06Speaker 5: People are telling me, you're.
- 27:07Speaker 7: Going to set your clock, you're going to set your phone.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I'm like, what?
- 27:10Speaker 3: No, no. Are you a bad sleeper?
- 27:12Speaker 4: Like, do you wake up a bunch throughout the night
- 27:14Speaker 4: and just look at the time? Or do you just
- 27:15Speaker 4: wake up, like, when it's time to get up, you're up?
- 27:17Speaker 1: Impressive.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I'm blown away right now. I don't know if that's
- 27:21Speaker 3: a skill or crippling anxiety.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You have one of the two.
- 27:23Speaker 3: It's a skill.
- 27:24Speaker 5: You know what?
- 27:34Speaker 3: You keep.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:36Speaker 5: It's a skill.
- 27:38Speaker 7: So now I'm doubting myself.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Now I'm doubting myself. Yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Don't doubt yourself. That is absolutely a skill that is
- 27:44Speaker 5: super impressive. I am blown away by this.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Okay, Colby. Thank you so much. Bye-bye.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Have a great day, love.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Ricky said that today's Daily Double Tap was for anybody
- 27:56Speaker 4: that does not have their ducks in a row.
- 27:58Speaker 3: And Zach felt like she was talking directly to him.
- 28:01Speaker 5: I am kind of talking to you, but I also
- 28:03Speaker 5: don't necessarily have my ducks in a row. I've got
- 28:05Speaker 5: maybe like two.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 5: The rest of them are just strung about all over
- 28:09Speaker 5: the place.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Just all over the place.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Yeah, this will just make you feel better, though, if
- 28:12Speaker 5: you don't have your ducks in a row.
- 28:14Speaker 9: Okay, today's Daily Double Tim. So what if not all
- 28:16Speaker 9: your ducks are in a row? At least your ducks
- 28:18Speaker 9: are everywhere having fun, bopping around, side questing. Like, some
- 28:22Speaker 9: people who have their ducks all lined up in a
- 28:24Speaker 9: row probably resent them.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Because why are you making them line.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Up like that? This ain't middle school. I respect it.
- 28:31Speaker 2: See?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Yeah, this ain't middle school.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Makes you feel a little better.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Why would I line up these ducks anyway?
- 28:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I like him.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Ducks are not meant to be lined up unless they're
- 28:39Speaker 5: going somewhere and they can't lose their ducklings.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I looked it up.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I just looked it up where that phrase even comes
- 28:44Speaker 4: from because it doesn't really.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Make a whole lot of sense.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Because the ducklings.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the ducklings just because they line up?
- 28:51Speaker 5: Yeah, they line up behind the mama duck and they
- 28:53Speaker 5: follow the mom. And that's how she doesn't lose all
- 28:55Speaker 5: the ducklings.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Well, I guess that, yeah, this says historians do not
- 28:59Speaker 4: agree on a single definitive source for the idiom. But
- 29:01Speaker 4: a lot of people think it's from 19th century amusement
- 29:05Speaker 4: parks where players would use BB guns to hit mechanical
- 29:07Speaker 4: or wooden toy ducks.
- 29:09Speaker 5: Oh, wow, that's completely different than I thought.
- 29:10Speaker 4: I think what you said makes more sense, honestly.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I just thought that's why.
- 29:16Speaker 3: They said it. The ducks naturally do a great job
- 29:19Speaker 3: of being organized.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Yeah, that's how they know where to go so they
- 29:22Speaker 5: don't lose each other.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Okay, then forget all about my Google search. I trust
- 29:25Speaker 3: what you said way more.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
