- 0:03Speaker 1: You know how we regularly do injury set. What you
- 0:06Speaker 1: know how we do injury set?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, regularly. The segment.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Today happens to be one of those days where a
- 0:13Speaker 1: lot of guys are actually returning. We'll get to some
- 0:15Speaker 1: of them later, but there were a few that I
- 0:16Speaker 1: just had mentioned here at the top on my notes.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Cal Raley coming back from his oblique.
- 0:25Speaker 1: They're still missing Brendan Donovan, but the Mariners are in
- 0:27Speaker 1: basically the same spot as last year. So M's fans,
- 0:30Speaker 1: you're good, and the three visions worse and divisions I
- 0:35Speaker 1: would say worse if you significantly worse. The A's are
- 0:39Speaker 1: starting to ball out a little bit.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Nick Kurtz is.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Six homers in his last eight games to yesterday, five,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Ribby's four forty something.
- 0:48Speaker 2: OBP.
- 0:51Speaker 3: OBP has never been his problem, no strikeouts, starts out
- 0:55Speaker 3: a lot.
- 0:57Speaker 2: He's an outcomes guy, but he's the top of that list.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Him and your boy Murakami do that right, right, If
- 1:07Speaker 1: you're going to be three true outcomes, do it like
- 1:10Speaker 1: Nick Kurtz and Murakami if you can. Yes, Drake Baldwin
- 1:15Speaker 1: coming back, Yes, I don't know. Did he play one
- 1:18Speaker 1: rehab game?
- 1:19Speaker 3: They're probably like everyone's turt we need you.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I know he like one ten exit blast. They're like
- 1:25Speaker 2: he's good hitting, my heart.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Let's go rehab against the against big league teams.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, rehab rated overrated under.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I think it matters you do. I think as on
- 1:43Speaker 3: how long you're out, I think you need. Most people
- 1:45Speaker 3: needed at least two games. Okay, at least two games.
- 1:50Speaker 3: He played one guys he got three at bats. Some
- 1:53Speaker 3: guys don't.
- 1:54Speaker 4: The thing for him, though, is the catching, just jumping
- 1:56Speaker 4: back in after missing like over a month, you're not catching.
- 2:00Speaker 4: It's been just under a month. Sorry, So I think
- 2:03Speaker 4: he went out on May eighteen. He hasn't caught anything.
- 2:07Speaker 4: So that's going to be for me.
- 2:09Speaker 3: They were the problem.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So they'll probably manage the workload.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Is DHM to start.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You could do some of that.
- 2:20Speaker 1: He certainly deserves every day bees if he looks like
- 2:22Speaker 1: he did before the injured listent.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, true.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Yeah, we're charging the mound with Dustin May. Dustin May
- 2:35Speaker 1: going cg look at the CGS lately. Yeah, nine k's
- 2:41Speaker 1: one hit, one walk.
- 2:42Speaker 3: He was doing.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He was carried in a perfect game into the seventh.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I was gonna say no, no, but it's perfect. Machada
- 2:50Speaker 1: broke it up well a walk to Tatista and Machado
- 2:55Speaker 1: knock broke it up in the seventh.
- 2:56Speaker 3: But just the thing with the great job justin Maybe
- 2:58Speaker 3: this is the thing with the Potters don't hit. They
- 3:01Speaker 3: we talked about it.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I think yesterday we were like, oh, Crat said oh
- 3:04Speaker 4: Gavin Chets and went on Gavin Cheeks.
- 3:06Speaker 3: But they just they don't hit. They don't hit consistently enough.
- 3:09Speaker 4: And when you have Manny and Pities and Meryll all struggling,
- 3:13Speaker 4: it's a hard way to live.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Man.
- 3:16Speaker 2: You know they're missing Louis. It shows.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry some people owe me apologies about Louisa.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Rice spoke about him in the off season. You don't agree.
- 3:28Speaker 3: You think Louis Rise changes this lineup? Yes, stop, he's
- 3:36Speaker 3: a great piece. He's a great piece to add to
- 3:38Speaker 3: your lineup. But he's not. People are like, oh, the
- 3:42Speaker 3: Padres lineup is deadly with Louisa Rise. No, it's just
- 3:46Speaker 3: another swingles hitter, swing and sway and hit your singles.
- 3:50Speaker 3: They need some thump and they have thump. It's just
- 3:54Speaker 3: crazy that these guys don't thump. As a team, they
- 3:58Speaker 3: make a collective effort to stay in the at bat.
- 4:01Speaker 3: They make a collective effort to not strike out. At
- 4:04Speaker 3: some point, we need these guys to be able to
- 4:08Speaker 3: help their starting pitchers go past four or five innings
- 4:12Speaker 3: because their bullpens delicious, but their offense is just it's
- 4:17Speaker 3: not there right now.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It's not it's not it's been a struggle for him.
- 4:23Speaker 4: It's been a struggle for him. Sorry, it's been a
- 4:26Speaker 4: struggle for Louisa Rise. I mean, he's gonna take the
- 4:31Speaker 4: first pitch, he's gonna hit a single. Oh, he's their best.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Like if you add him to their lineup right now, Scott,
- 4:36Speaker 4: you can't tell me that. You're like, oh, the West
- 4:41Speaker 4: top spot in the wild card.
- 4:43Speaker 2: It's yours. And you guys are overstating it.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm saying when I'm watching a game with the Padres,
- 4:49Speaker 1: pictures get in such a rhythm.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Sometimes against them, they're like, are.
- 4:53Speaker 1: They going to do anything any traffic, Because that's what
- 4:56Speaker 1: we're looking at this is there's a power problem for years,
- 4:59Speaker 1: right that was a problem last year, but it's beyond that.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Now you're starting to see a team that can't get
- 5:03Speaker 1: on base. Luisa Rice can get on base.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I mean he doesn't get on base. No, he doesn't
- 5:08Speaker 4: get on base. He's an average guy, I.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Know, but he's three nineteen, three point fifty two four
- 5:13Speaker 2: thirty five.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yeah, but they need where's crone zone? They need cron zone? Well,
- 5:17Speaker 4: he was an on base guy. That's ja Marra was
- 5:19Speaker 4: supposed to be an.
- 5:20Speaker 3: On base guy.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, he hasn't been their catchers.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Of There's just a lot of holes on this team.
- 5:28Speaker 3: That's why I said it a couple weeks ago. Remember
- 5:30Speaker 3: I said, are they fools goal? Do we really believe
- 5:32Speaker 3: in the Padreds or do we not believe in the Padres?
- 5:35Speaker 3: And slowly they've kind of making pitch. I want to
- 5:38Speaker 3: believe I do. I want to see this team. I
- 5:43Speaker 3: want to see this fan base that supported this team.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I want to see them succeed. I think they've built
- 5:50Speaker 3: a devastating bullpen for the playoffs. I think they're starting
- 5:56Speaker 3: pitching is how it is. I love Michael King. I
- 6:00Speaker 3: want to see this team succeed with all the athletes
- 6:04Speaker 3: that they have and how the team was built. But
- 6:07Speaker 3: I don't see it. I don't see where this turnaround
- 6:10Speaker 3: is gonna be. I think they can make the playoffs,
- 6:13Speaker 3: but I want to see them go deep into the playoffs.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I want to see how the team was built have
- 6:19Speaker 3: success to other teams are like, okay, well we can
- 6:21Speaker 3: do that too.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, cronin Worth will help if he figures the concussion
- 6:27Speaker 1: symptoms situation out. Did you see the batting average board
- 6:31Speaker 1: while Kratz was talking not very good? Tatisa's two seventy nine.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Nobody else is over two thirty.
- 6:37Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Two thirty nobody else.
- 6:42Speaker 3: They had one of the best hitting coaches, and I'm
- 6:44Speaker 3: not blaming the hitting coach. I'm not blaming the hitting coach,
- 6:46Speaker 3: but they had Victor RODRIGUEZU form me as one of
- 6:48Speaker 3: the best, and they got rid of him. For a
- 6:50Speaker 3: guy who's steven SUSA, who's played in the big leagues,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I get that he had a lot of homers in
- 6:56Speaker 3: the big leagues, but he's never been a hitting coach
- 6:58Speaker 3: at this level, and there's something to that, especially when
- 7:01Speaker 3: a team that's trying to win, unless you have a
- 7:03Speaker 3: guy that's really been a hitting coach and really done
- 7:05Speaker 3: some things.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Again, I'm not blaming him, but you know, from what
- 7:10Speaker 4: I've heard, he's gone heavy analytics. We've already seen Manny
- 7:13Speaker 4: Machado come out and say it's not all about analytics.
- 7:15Speaker 3: So maybe there's some two I don't know. It's just
- 7:18Speaker 3: an easy blame and I shouldn't say that. I should
- 7:20Speaker 3: take the easy way out. But they can't hit.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's part of it. It's a whole village. It's
- 7:26Speaker 1: the personnel, it's the coaching. All of that can contribute
- 7:29Speaker 1: to the lack of hitting. Support for today's episode comes
- 7:34Speaker 1: from Square, and they've got big news. During Squar's biannual

- 7:57Speaker 4: many restaurants and businesses I walk into, not only in

- 8:35Speaker 1: positive though. Dustin May draft season signing.
- 8:40Speaker 3: He's been great for the Cardinals all since he got there.
- 8:43Speaker 3: He's been awesome. He's kind of like the one veteran
- 8:45Speaker 3: guy they have in their rotation. I guess him and Liberatore.
- 8:47Speaker 4: But if he's healthy, this is the potential that everyone
- 8:50Speaker 4: saw if he could stay healthy.
- 8:51Speaker 3: And right now he's healthy and he's dealing.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Remember last year he was dealt to Boston. He didn't
- 8:56Speaker 1: really pitch well there. I mean, how many starts you
- 8:58Speaker 1: make five and a relief appearance close to thirty innings
- 9:03Speaker 1: five and a half is ra red, SOX fans were
- 9:07Speaker 1: like bye, and now, as you can see, our friend
- 9:09Speaker 1: Gabrielle Star covers the red Sox said, the list of
- 9:11Speaker 1: pitchers who struggle with the Red Sox and then become
- 9:13Speaker 1: elite immediately with a new team is no longer or
- 9:17Speaker 1: is longer than a CBS receipt, and that's a longer seat.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We've spoken a lot about Harrison, but it's time to
- 9:22Speaker 1: give Dustin May some flowers here three seven five earned
- 9:25Speaker 1: run average, eighty one and two thirds innings.
- 9:31Speaker 2: This guy's got it right now.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He's been really, really solid for a team that can
- 9:35Speaker 1: bang so Kratz. What do you need guys that are
- 9:38Speaker 1: gonna post, put up innings and keep you in games.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Dustin May doing that to a t as we check
- 9:44Speaker 1: out the rotation here right now and then click in
- 9:47Speaker 1: on May. But others too, right I think Plante is
- 9:51Speaker 1: pitching tonight. There's some guys that you know, most aren't
- 9:54Speaker 1: paying attention to that are helping the Cardinals stay in
- 9:57Speaker 1: the mix. And it's why the Cardinals and the Nowationals
- 10:00Speaker 1: hold playoff seats right now.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's I don't I'm not gonna lie
- 10:08Speaker 3: like I couldn't be more surprised. I think Dustin May
- 10:11Speaker 3: I thought he was going to give them solid innings.
- 10:14Speaker 3: The question was always will he stay healthy, which hasn't
- 10:19Speaker 3: been the case for his career. He lines himself to throw.
- 10:23Speaker 3: You know, if he can throw his thirty starts here
- 10:25Speaker 3: like that would be just a massive turnaround for him.
- 10:29Speaker 3: It just seems like he's not afraid to throw strikes
- 10:31Speaker 3: in the zone. And just like the rest of this rotation,
- 10:35Speaker 3: they don't really rack up a lot of strikeouts. They're
- 10:38Speaker 3: not afraid of contact, which is such an old school,
- 10:42Speaker 3: old school mentality that I think a lot of people
- 10:45Speaker 3: are surprised by it. I think a lot of people
- 10:47Speaker 3: are like, well, I don't know how it's gonna last,
- 10:50Speaker 3: including me. You gotta strike you gotta strike dudes out,
- 10:53Speaker 3: but it's not the end all be all, And if
- 10:55Speaker 3: you're only throwing throwing pitches for strikeouts, you're never gonna
- 10:59Speaker 3: get to where Dustin may have got yesterday to the
- 11:02Speaker 3: ninth inning, because it takes a lot of pitches to
- 11:05Speaker 3: try to rack up strikeouts and try to get swings
- 11:08Speaker 3: and misses.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Yeah. But their defense is so good because the defense
- 11:15Speaker 3: are actually defense is so good.
- 11:17Speaker 4: So sometimes though, but sometimes even you know, strikeouts, yes,
- 11:20Speaker 4: is great if you get strikeouts, obviously, but if you
- 11:24Speaker 4: have a team that can put the ball in play,
- 11:26Speaker 4: and you have a team that just catches everything you
- 11:28Speaker 4: don't don't necessarily need. Now when the playoffs, it's nice,
- 11:31Speaker 4: and there are certain times where it's nice, But man,
- 11:33Speaker 4: it's nice. If you know of a pitcher, what do
- 11:35Speaker 4: they always tell? Let them put it in play?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Right forever? Let them put in play. We'll catch it. Well,
- 11:39Speaker 3: the Cardinals, you know what they do. They catch it.
- 11:42Speaker 1: They catch it everywhere they catch, they hit, and they're
- 11:45Speaker 1: pitching well enough, well enough to be here right.
- 11:48Speaker 4: And Walker, Jordan Walker should be in the all three game. Yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 4: of course he's not even I think he's like six
- 11:54Speaker 4: or seven in the voting.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Him and James would need to get more, of course,
- 11:57Speaker 1: so we'll we'll look at that. Uh can we get
- 12:00Speaker 1: the dustin may quote? It's like five seconds, let's running.
- 12:05Speaker 2: He walked down and said, how do you feel? I said,
- 12:08Speaker 2: is that a question? Like I'm going back out there?
- 12:11Speaker 3: I felt great.
- 12:12Speaker 2: It was a good outing, great defense, great great teamwork.
- 12:14Speaker 5: As I checked in with him just to make sure
- 12:16Speaker 5: he had enough in the tank. It was a three
- 12:19Speaker 5: second conversation. But man, when you're feeding off of the outing,
- 12:23Speaker 5: it's a Monday night. This place was The energy was awesome,
- 12:26Speaker 5: and I appreciate it. I could tell you our players
- 12:28Speaker 5: appreciate it. You had the place was fun of playing,
- 12:32Speaker 5: and you have the tarpsof section. I mean by the
- 12:34Speaker 5: ninth thing, that place was packed out. So you feed
- 12:36Speaker 5: off of all of that. I asked him if he
- 12:38Speaker 5: had enough in the tank. He gave me a quick
- 12:41Speaker 5: glance and I walked away.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Six biggest differences twenty twenty six to twenty twenty five
- 12:50Speaker 1: looking at this year back to last year, walk great
- 12:53Speaker 1: down a lot out of his own swing percentage up
- 12:57Speaker 1: a lot. Talking about Dustin May, of course expect batting
- 13:00Speaker 1: average is going to go down a lot when we're
- 13:01Speaker 1: going over these stats. Velocity up a tick and change
- 13:05Speaker 1: almost aero point and a half. Slugging percentage down a lot,
- 13:10Speaker 1: Viral percentage down a lot. Those are some big key
- 13:13Speaker 1: stats Dustin May is looking at right now that are
- 13:15Speaker 1: working for him.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You know, he joins a new party here.
- 13:18Speaker 1: He had been with the Dodgers for a long time,
- 13:20Speaker 1: Red Sox for a second, and then with Saint Louis.
- 13:24Speaker 1: What did he tell us he didn't feel like he
- 13:28Speaker 1: was doing what he wanted to do. Wasn't he one
- 13:30Speaker 1: of those guys you know sometimes you ask the pictures
- 13:32Speaker 1: are interesting because you got the team philosophy, the picture
- 13:34Speaker 1: thinks they know themself, and there's a back and forth
- 13:36Speaker 1: there sometimes where team's like, hey, we've got the answer
- 13:39Speaker 1: for you might wrong on this one, Kratz.
- 13:40Speaker 3: You think Kyle Harrison said he wasn't doing what the
- 13:44Speaker 3: Red Sox were kind of making him do. What he
- 13:47Speaker 3: you're talking about from spring training when we talked to him.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Right, we talked to Dustin May though I remember both
- 13:55Speaker 1: of them.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I don't remember him saying that, but yeah
- 14:01Speaker 3: I don't I don't remember him saying that either. But
- 14:04Speaker 3: you do have to pitch. He did say that, but
- 14:05Speaker 3: he talked to a lot of people we have last
- 14:08Speaker 3: couple of years. You do have to pitch your game.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I don't care if AJ's your catcher, if I'm your catcher,
- 14:12Speaker 3: if the picture's out there and they're like, he just
- 14:14Speaker 3: never calls what I want to throw. This organization never,
- 14:18Speaker 3: They're never shifted where I want to be shifted. Boom,
- 14:22Speaker 3: it's your career.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Dave Roberts yesterday said Edmund Diaz coming along really well,
- 14:28Speaker 1: set to throw a bullpen this week. Still looking at
- 14:30Speaker 1: post All Star Break return for him. Encouraged with his progress.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Tyler Glass now is still not throwing or making much
- 14:36Speaker 1: progress with his back injury.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Remember it was like we didn't even know if he
- 14:39Speaker 2: was going to go on.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I l and it wasn't even like a thing.
- 14:42Speaker 2: He goes down.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Always curious. I mean, maybe we'll get Tyler at some
- 14:46Speaker 1: point to ask him about that. And then Tommy Edmund
- 14:48Speaker 1: back today. Edmund's back. They're gonna I.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Forgot he was even on the dust.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I know he's good. I know they're gonna work him in.
- 14:55Speaker 1: He's going to play a few different positions, a little infield,
- 14:57Speaker 1: little outfield, a few days a week, ramp up.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Okay, we'll come back. Yeah, I forgot that he was
- 15:04Speaker 3: even on the team. Honestly, is it been so long.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's been a minute, and you know, and he was
- 15:09Speaker 1: bothered by things last year too, But still helpful.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Miggy row by the way, yesterday I had the big
- 15:14Speaker 2: pinch hit danger. That was a good game. Dodgers raised. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 2: Eric lower quality start.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Mm hmm. It's weird.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Nobody wanted he gets a start and not have an
- 15:29Speaker 4: opener and.
- 15:30Speaker 2: The Dodgers got him like for free. Nobody wanted him.
- 15:34Speaker 2: It's not a money thing.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Teams don't need starters. They don't, especially quality left hander
- 15:38Speaker 3: ones that were good last night. They don't need those.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Did anybody watch him last year?
- 15:43Speaker 3: No, I'm that one.
- 15:46Speaker 2: The Dodgers ended up with him. Of all people, it's
- 15:49Speaker 2: unfair of all teams, Scott, it's unfair.
- 15:51Speaker 3: We need a cap.
- 15:55Speaker 2: With over thirty five million downloads.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You know, sekeek is the spot when you're looking for
- 15:58Speaker 1: tickets tonight and there's some hot tickets for games tonight,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm going to bring one up to start. Hunter Brown
- 16:02Speaker 1: returns for the Astros to a rotation that has any
- 16:05Speaker 1: ra over seven this month, and he goes up against.
- 16:11Speaker 2: That's a good game to get that seat.
- 16:14Speaker 3: How's he going to get a big, big, huge He
- 16:18Speaker 3: did nothing round to Houston fans.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And also he spoke yesterday to like a sea of reporters.
- 16:23Speaker 1: They were like, did the Astros call? He was like, nope,
- 16:25Speaker 1: nothing in the off season. We knew that was gonna happen.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I mean there's a game. There's a bit way bigger
- 16:33Speaker 3: game than the game you're talking about.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You know, the White Sox play today the Yankees.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Do you know who's pitching for the Yankees?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Davis Martin against Garret Cole?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Yes? Do you know who? The White Sox are going
- 16:42Speaker 3: to avenge? That poor guy that Garrett Cole threw at
- 16:46Speaker 3: an a ball after he took him deep. They're gonna
- 16:49Speaker 3: forget his name, Boomer Boomer bro. He was like a
- 16:54Speaker 3: he was like a big prospect. Right, it's a revenge game.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Do you think anyone on the White Sox actually, no
- 17:02Speaker 2: even know?
- 17:04Speaker 3: I think it's Bonemer what. They're all young guys. Why
- 17:07Speaker 3: would they not know that. I'm gonna avenge my buddies,
- 17:10Speaker 3: you guys, revenge game for the White Sox tonight. Oh
- 17:14Speaker 3: now I need to watch it because that was trash
- 17:16Speaker 3: that he just threw at him. That was trash. The
- 17:19Speaker 3: dude was rocking you with trash. I love that. I hope,
- 17:23Speaker 3: I hope. Let's see Brad Montgomery. He's got to know him.
- 17:25Speaker 3: He's a ute. How many you? I mean, there's a
- 17:27Speaker 3: ton of utes on the team, like they're all they're
- 17:31Speaker 3: all young guys, so why would they not know him?
- 17:33Speaker 2: You're right?
- 17:34Speaker 3: I need it true? I mean raised Dodgers Rasmussen versus
- 17:38Speaker 3: Robleski's a good matchup. Rasmussen's nasty and then Guardians at
- 17:42Speaker 3: the Brewers. That's a that's a big that's a big series.
- 17:45Speaker 3: The Guardians especially is.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 17:47Speaker 3: So did you say that?
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yes?
- 17:50Speaker 3: Oh, I was just gonna say. See Rasmussen his last
- 17:52Speaker 3: two starts, fourteen innings, twenty two punchies, he's feeling it.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That'll play good one. Yeah, there's some good matchups tonight.
- 18:02Speaker 1: So go get a ticket territory ten ten percent off
- 18:05Speaker 1: tickets on sea Geek, MLB's official ticket marketplace. Tickets are
- 18:09Speaker 1: fully guaranteed, instantly fulfilled in your account after purchase.
- 18:13Speaker 2: That's important.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Sea Geek is the number one rated ticketing app. They're
- 18:17Speaker 1: with us all season long. Ten percent off MLB tickets,
- 18:21Speaker 1: any of them when you use that code.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Grayson Rodriguez to the IL, I mean, can't keep them
- 18:29Speaker 1: out there, man, it's the back barking now him and
- 18:33Speaker 1: Troy Melton. I don't Melton, I don't think hit the
- 18:36Speaker 1: shelf yet as far as I know, but he was
- 18:38Speaker 1: supposed to pitch yesterday and he got scratched with back tightness.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But for Grayson, it's the back low back inflammation Drew
- 18:45Speaker 1: Pomerant's dfade. If you don't recognize the current Angels, it's
- 18:49Speaker 1: because most of the roster doesn't look like it did
- 18:52Speaker 1: at the start of the year.
- 18:54Speaker 3: No, but they do have one guy that's pretty good
- 18:57Speaker 3: and he's pitching to night.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Oh is thats Thatmer's pitching tonight. Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Talk to Grayce and we just had him all and
- 19:03Speaker 3: he was so excited to be back out there. He
- 19:05Speaker 3: missed a year. So it sucks. Man. Injury suck. We
- 19:09Speaker 3: always talk about it, but injuries suck.
- 19:10Speaker 2: They do.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Demers have better numbers than Soriano. Now close, let's see
- 19:17Speaker 1: probably two seven nine for Soriano eighty seven innings.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I think, Yeah, he's got better numbers.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Strikes out a lot of guys.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Oh no, he doesn't. He's got a four. He's got
- 19:28Speaker 1: a four. Yeah, he strikes out way more. Yeah, he
- 19:31Speaker 1: still got a four. I mean, he had a pretty
- 19:33Speaker 1: slow start, but then he's he's rolling right. Now, there's
- 19:37Speaker 1: the rotation of ninety one innings that'll play.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I found out. I found out it was November nineteenth
- 19:46Speaker 3: that I said, how do the Orioles trade? Or yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 3: trade Grayson Rodriguez with years of control as a starting pitcher,
- 19:53Speaker 3: and somebody hit me back on Twitter and I said, well,
- 19:56Speaker 3: you know what, I was wrong, but the reality is
- 20:00Speaker 3: and figure it out. They still have control of them.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Taylor Award, he's gone after this year. So yep, I
- 20:07Speaker 3: just have a hard time getting rid of starting pitching,
- 20:10Speaker 3: youthful starting pitching. I get it, he's been hurt. You
- 20:13Speaker 3: don't want to see this. I was wrong. I didn't
- 20:16Speaker 3: say he wasn't going to get hurt. I just have
- 20:18Speaker 3: a hard time seeing teams get rid of really good
- 20:22Speaker 3: starting pitching that's young.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And for the Angels, I mean they've struggled in that
- 20:26Speaker 1: department forever, so they weren't going to win this year regardless.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Taylor Ward was not going to be the difference maker
- 20:34Speaker 1: for the Angels for sure.
- 20:36Speaker 3: That Mars.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You know, it's surprising that Mers.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I mean these the last what a few starts, he's
- 20:42Speaker 1: been on a heater, but I mean he had May nineteenth,
- 20:45Speaker 1: eight runs and five and two thirds.
- 20:46Speaker 2: That really Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Yeah, he's starting to get on a roll. He's got
- 20:52Speaker 1: good stuff. Teams want him. He's a guy team.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Can definitely see being moved.
- 21:02Speaker 1: The dude's entertaining Pete Crow Armstrong with a cycle. It
- 21:06Speaker 1: was a reverse straight homer, then a triple, then a
- 21:09Speaker 1: double finished for the single was picked off right after
- 21:12Speaker 1: that next pitch.
- 21:13Speaker 2: But let's focus on the positives.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Thirteenth Cubs player to do it first since Lash July
- 21:19Speaker 1: Byron Buxton.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And it was a wild game.
- 21:23Speaker 4: They would have lost, they came back and won.
- 21:26Speaker 3: For granted, they were playing the Rockies.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Rockies have been given him a fight, yeah, but I.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Mean the Rockies bullpen Is. But if he hit the
- 21:37Speaker 3: cycle and they were losing, and I was like, they're
- 21:38Speaker 3: losing and he's got the Usually when the team.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Guy hits for the cycle, your team is crushing the
- 21:42Speaker 4: other team. And they were losing four to two at
- 21:45Speaker 4: the time, and then they came back and scored three
- 21:47Speaker 4: and all that. So but PCA, you talk about being
- 21:49Speaker 4: on a heater. PCA has been on a heater ever since.
- 21:53Speaker 4: You know, the team hasn't been doing good, but PCA
- 21:55Speaker 4: has been doing good.
- 21:56Speaker 3: He's like the one player when you turn on the
- 21:57Speaker 3: Cubs game, You're like, all right, I want to see PCA.
- 22:00Speaker 3: What he's gonna do.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Now.
- 22:01Speaker 3: He's made some he has made some mistakes. In the field,
- 22:04Speaker 3: but he's improved out. I mean, look, i mean he
- 22:05Speaker 3: to seventy seven, which you used to not be that great.
- 22:08Speaker 3: But I mean, I'm just amazed. Every time we show these.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Betting everages for every team, it's like, damn, but you
- 22:14Speaker 4: see his numbers. I mean, he's one of the best
- 22:15Speaker 4: players going right now, and he is fun as hell
- 22:18Speaker 4: to watch. I love this guy, said it's in State one.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I love watching this dude play. And he's an All
- 22:22Speaker 4: Star right now. He truly is an All Star right now.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, crats.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I mean he's been inconsistent, although that was the case
- 22:29Speaker 1: last year where it was a tale of two halves,
- 22:31Speaker 1: this year it's been more like a tale of different months.
- 22:33Speaker 1: But the defense is always there too, And even if
- 22:36Speaker 1: there's a gaff here and there, he's the best defender
- 22:39Speaker 1: in center field in the sport.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Heirs. Dwayne Murphy, I think he won three Gold Gloves
- 22:46Speaker 3: said about playing elite outfield defense. He was like, you
- 22:51Speaker 3: know what, you're gonna have airs. But the good outfielders,
- 22:55Speaker 3: especially good center fielders, they track balls down, they get
- 23:00Speaker 3: they just they make your right and left fielders better.
- 23:03Speaker 3: And that's what PCA does. Yes, I get it. He's
- 23:06Speaker 3: lost balls in the sun. He dropped a fly ball, Like,
- 23:10Speaker 3: those are things that happen. You're gonna have your airs.
- 23:13Speaker 3: It's just a matter of what balls he gets to.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Those are the game changers, Those are the games that
- 23:18Speaker 3: or those are the plays that keep them in the game.
- 23:20Speaker 3: And the fact that the cycle, the one cycle I'll
- 23:23Speaker 3: never forget was Christian Yelich hit for a second cycle
- 23:27Speaker 3: and it was against the Reds. I think we ended
- 23:30Speaker 3: up winning the game, like thirteen to eleven, but every
- 23:33Speaker 3: single one of his I think he had five hits
- 23:35Speaker 3: that game. Every single one of his hits went for
- 23:40Speaker 3: like the game tying RBI or go ahead RBI at
- 23:44Speaker 3: each point in the game. So for PCA to have
- 23:48Speaker 3: they were losing two to one and he had the
- 23:50Speaker 3: cycle at first base, You're like, all right, wait what
- 23:54Speaker 3: he gets picked off? Well, that's kind of a big deal.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Like it was crazy. It's so rare that you see
- 23:59Speaker 3: something like. Let alone the fact that he did it
- 24:02Speaker 3: in reverse order, like hardest to easiest. He rarely goes
- 24:06Speaker 3: that way.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Mm hmm. It was unique.
- 24:10Speaker 3: But the hardest is the triple yes, so he but
- 24:14Speaker 3: he did it. He did a reverse. Yeah, there were
- 24:17Speaker 3: triple double single pickoff.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Not easy to triple, and it's hard.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Not even I could get a triple on it and
- 24:25Speaker 3: I had speed.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You couldn't do it. Who could?
- 24:27Speaker 3: That was my only chance of a triple when I
- 24:29Speaker 3: found out I didn't have a triple at the end
- 24:31Speaker 3: of my career. My only chance for a triple was
- 24:34Speaker 3: thwarted by ben's Obrist. I hit a lester back door
- 24:39Speaker 3: cutter down the first baseline and ben Zobrist made this
- 24:42Speaker 3: like dive against the wall because you know there's no
- 24:45Speaker 3: there's no foul territory there. It was like rolling right
- 24:48Speaker 3: down the line and he like dove to stop it,
- 24:51Speaker 3: and Moose was on first and I got to second.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Had it had it gone by him, it would have
- 24:56Speaker 3: been easy stand up triple. My only triple on my career,
- 24:59Speaker 3: So I could have said I had a cycle in
- 25:00Speaker 3: my career, not in a game in my entire career. Well,
- 25:07Speaker 3: you know some of us have walk off triples. Cratch sorry,
- 25:11Speaker 3: figure out how you get a figure out how you
- 25:12Speaker 3: get a walk off triple by the way, mm hmm
- 25:16Speaker 3: speed speed. I can't stand when announcers say he's a
- 25:21Speaker 3: triple triple shy of the cycle. Please don't say that.
- 25:25Speaker 3: That's not you're just having a good day. You have
- 25:27Speaker 3: three hits. Let's let's keep it at that.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Now.
- 25:30Speaker 3: If you're like a single shy, double shy, that's fine.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Don't say a triple shy of the cycle. Like triples
- 25:38Speaker 3: in the big leaues are really hard to come by.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Ken in the chat said, why does anyone throw a
- 25:43Speaker 1: PCA strike? Makes no sense? Chase right, it's like forty percent.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We used to say that about Hide Bayaz when he
- 25:50Speaker 1: was the star and about aj.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So answer that.
- 25:55Speaker 3: You want to know why they do because pictures are
- 25:57Speaker 3: conditioned to throw strikes, yes, and they throws the can.
- 26:01Speaker 3: They're not conditioned to throw balls. They're told their whole
- 26:03Speaker 3: life throw it over the plate, especially, you know what,
- 26:07Speaker 3: especially the really good pictures. That's that's what's funny, is
- 26:10Speaker 3: like people were like, oh, who'd you hit well? And
- 26:11Speaker 3: I'm like, Maddox, why because he threw it over the plate.
- 26:16Speaker 3: It was the guys that couldn't throw it over the
- 26:17Speaker 3: plate that I was suck against because cranky, Sure, I'll
- 26:20Speaker 3: hit him all day long because he threw it over
- 26:22Speaker 3: the plate.
- 26:23Speaker 4: It was the dudes that couldn't throw a strike, and
- 26:25Speaker 4: I was like, oh, swing at the one up here.
- 26:27Speaker 4: The guys threw it over the plate.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Those dudes you can hit guys that got you out
- 26:31Speaker 1: of the zone. Worse quality of contact generally.
- 26:35Speaker 3: But even but like, yes, but their misses are smaller too,
- 26:38Speaker 3: Like those guys addicts and those guys that were strike throwers,
- 26:41Speaker 3: their missus were smaller. Even if they're trying to throw
- 26:43Speaker 3: it out of the strike zone. Max's out of the
- 26:45Speaker 3: zone was like this far I could hit that.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Still, Well, that's the blessing in the curse is you
- 26:49Speaker 1: can get to those pitches out of the zone and
- 26:52Speaker 1: that leads to hits. Now there's a line if it's
- 26:56Speaker 1: a non competitive pitch, I mean it gets spit out
- 26:59Speaker 1: by you PCA. But I mean the point is there.
- 27:02Speaker 1: The chase percentage actual thirty eight percent, it's eleventh percentile.
- 27:08Speaker 3: It's not actually that bad. There's people that are way
- 27:09Speaker 3: higher or not.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Yeah, way ten percent of the league is worse than that.
- 27:16Speaker 3: So to try to get a big, big picture, who's
- 27:19Speaker 3: been established when you tell them, like this guy is
- 27:22Speaker 3: O two. We used to say about Hobby Bias, He's
- 27:25Speaker 3: O two all the time. They'd be like, huh, what
- 27:28Speaker 3: does that mean? Means if you're two? Oh, you're still
- 27:31Speaker 3: in O two count because two oh big league pictures.
- 27:35Speaker 3: They're now like, okay, I'm missing on half the plate here.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I might even just throw throw one, you know, in
- 27:42Speaker 3: that area, and I'm totally fine. We'll see a contact.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Those type of guys, you got to be like, hey,
- 27:47Speaker 3: who cares, I don't care. If it's three to one,
- 27:49Speaker 3: you're O two. Think you're O two. And they're like, huh.
- 27:52Speaker 3: It just means that you expand the zone at all
- 27:54Speaker 3: times because they'll help you out. But let's put it
- 27:57Speaker 3: this way. PCA is not hobby bias. We're not trying
- 27:59Speaker 3: to Hobby Bayas was another elite level as far as
- 28:02Speaker 3: chase and contact and damage outside of the zone is
- 28:11Speaker 3: pretty good though.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Right now he's good.
- 28:12Speaker 3: It got paid too. Oh no, no, I mean I
- 28:15Speaker 3: mean Hobby chased everything. Yeah, he's gotten a lot better
- 28:22Speaker 3: than where he was too.
- 28:22Speaker 2: He's gotten better. And chasing is chasing.
- 28:26Speaker 1: If it's out of the zone, right, if it's a
- 28:29Speaker 1: few inches out of the zone, you chased, right, watch
- 28:33Speaker 1: PA chases. There's some that are like whoa, but watch
- 28:37Speaker 1: Hobby bias chases. That's another level chase.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I mean, there's there's memes all over the place of him.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Yeah where like that's in another area code and he
- 28:46Speaker 1: went for it.
- 28:46Speaker 2: That's just how unique Hobby Baias is.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And when he had that little run where he was
- 28:53Speaker 1: getting empty p voats, it's pretty incredible that he was
- 28:58Speaker 1: able to do that, hitting you know, many pitches that
- 29:00Speaker 1: were well outside of the zone and turning the legit contact.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yep, exactly. Oh here's your boy, Kratz.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Gabriel Rincones junior first career hit was a homer yesterday
- 29:13Speaker 1: against Miami in a shutout win for Zach Wheeler, who's
- 29:17Speaker 1: been dealing quietly.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Thoughts on this one.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I mean I heard I heard a lot about him.
- 29:25Speaker 3: One of the coaches on my high school team is
- 29:27Speaker 3: the bullpen catcher with the Phillies, and I'd heard like, Hey,
- 29:31Speaker 3: you know what this guy he's he's a little bit different.
- 29:35Speaker 3: They don't have a lot going on down at Lehigh
- 29:37Speaker 3: right now, but he was a little bit different in
- 29:38Speaker 3: the fact that his first big league hits a homer.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I always thought that would be so cool. I know
- 29:43Speaker 3: it took him a couple of days I think he
- 29:44Speaker 3: made his debut on Friday, so you hit your first
- 29:48Speaker 3: hit then Monday at home and it's a dinger. That's
- 29:52Speaker 3: pretty cool.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:54Speaker 3: One more from Bomb by the way too, you didn't
- 29:56Speaker 3: see it.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Yeah, a few bombs from Cold Heath yesterday too.
- 30:01Speaker 3: I know he had won, didn't he going into.
- 30:02Speaker 2: There and come a while to get one. I think
- 30:04Speaker 2: he had won.
- 30:06Speaker 3: And then he got one. Four. He doubled him.
- 30:09Speaker 1: He's strong. I mean he should have. He's a big guy. Yes,
- 30:15Speaker 1: So that was a nine to three win for the
- 30:17Speaker 1: Tigers yesterday. Kwa Tang had been really good and then
- 30:21Speaker 1: he's starting to unravel. For the Astros, they're patching together.
- 30:24Speaker 1: The rotation it's been Brown back to Hunter Brown is good.
- 30:29Speaker 2: That will help.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Well, we'll see how I mean first start back, We'll see.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 3: But again, it psych school. You can't throw all the
- 30:36Speaker 3: team's hopes on one guy. Everyone.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, once a week relying on the guy. It does
- 30:44Speaker 1: help if they can go deep into games, because it
- 30:47Speaker 1: starts to fall apart with the bullpens when guys aren't
- 30:49Speaker 1: giving you length.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Ma has been a huge issue with that where it's
- 30:54Speaker 1: like you watching like, oh, he doesn't have it, get
- 30:57Speaker 1: the bullpen going early.
- 31:00Speaker 2: That's part of the problem here too.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You hope that some of these guys come back and
- 31:04Speaker 1: even on their worst days they gave you six, maybe seven.
- 31:09Speaker 2: You know, stuff like that's important too. Go ahead, Gretz.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Oh no, I was just gonna say, you don't have
- 31:17Speaker 3: six guys in the bullpen that are just going to
- 31:19Speaker 3: be able to cover six innings on certain nights. So
- 31:23Speaker 3: when guys are only giving you three or four, you're
- 31:25Speaker 3: gonna get to the underbelly of your bullpen, which is
- 31:28Speaker 3: just going to cause more havoc later down the road
- 31:32Speaker 3: in the series. All that stuff. It's it's a tough
- 31:34Speaker 3: spot to be for a Spota when he's making those moves.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Mike Trott hasn't played, hadn't played at Chase Field in
- 31:43Speaker 1: eleven years. Oplahomer in the fifth first career at that park,
- 31:48Speaker 1: twenty ninth part.
- 31:49Speaker 2: He's homewarding, so good for him.
- 31:52Speaker 1: A couple other things from yesterday, and get to remember
- 31:55Speaker 1: we talked about the padres orioles beef.
- 31:58Speaker 2: They suspended Mayernachi although he's appealing.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I know they have to do it, but come on,
- 32:04Speaker 3: I mean, I know, why don't they used to spend
- 32:06Speaker 3: the guy who hit overts in the.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Head, because the person who retaliates always get to punish
- 32:11Speaker 1: the hardest.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Poor Trey Gibson, he's already been called up and sent
- 32:16Speaker 3: down five times. Don't find the guy too, Trey Gibson
- 32:19Speaker 3: hit him.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I don't know if we're going to get to the Mets,
- 32:24Speaker 1: so I'll throw it in here. Christian Scott iieled hip
- 32:27Speaker 1: and pingement. Mets got blasted yesterday. Tobias Myers was Sheldy's
- 32:31Speaker 1: around the.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Ghost fork is back anywhere close to the plate. Not
- 32:38Speaker 3: in Great American small park. Please do not make him
- 32:41Speaker 3: throw in that park. Oh wait, he's starting tonight.
- 32:44Speaker 2: He's starting. They need it. I mean, they're they're hurting again.
- 32:47Speaker 1: It's it's one of those you know for some teams
- 32:49Speaker 1: they fall apart and you're like, oh, they couldn't hit
- 32:51Speaker 1: it all in the beginning, and they couldn't yesterday, But like,
- 32:53Speaker 1: offense getting going a little bit now, they're rotations in
- 32:55Speaker 1: shambles twentieth and starting pitching RRA guys are going down.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Like that's how nightmare seasons go, where you're like, oh, look,
- 33:02Speaker 1: Bow's hitting now, and then you're like, oh, wait, now,
- 33:04Speaker 1: our starting pitching is a mess. Bullpen's been pretty good
- 33:07Speaker 1: for them, but they're on a track to sell it
- 33:10Speaker 1: the deadline and that is that is the wild stuff.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Second highest payroll in baseball.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Did you guys see the bat of Chase Burns and
- 33:21Speaker 3: Juan Soto last night? Oh? Yeah?
- 33:24Speaker 4: All the time out and then Burn's like, oh yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 4: I watch his doors gone.
- 33:28Speaker 3: He knew exactly who he's facing. And credit to Chase Burns.
- 33:35Speaker 3: First one goes to him. I mean he went. I
- 33:37Speaker 3: mean that was that was a fun at bat to watch.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Chase Burns doors stupid good stuff wise, he's just getting
- 33:47Speaker 1: the training wheels off and learning on the fly and
- 33:50Speaker 1: it's really impressive.
- 33:52Speaker 2: It's two drafts ago. I mean this, this guy's lights out.
- 33:56Speaker 1: And remember the whole thing was wait, they didn't pick
- 33:58Speaker 1: Charlie Condon. No, because the Reds need arms and it's
- 34:02Speaker 1: not easy to recruit arms out there, and that method works.
- 34:07Speaker 2: You draft him. It's smart.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Let us slap. I was looking at the guest list
- 34:24Speaker 1: for the rest of the week. Jeff Passen is scheduled
- 34:27Speaker 1: to join us tomorrow. We haven't had him on in
- 34:28Speaker 1: a minute. Brandon Hyde, former Oriols manager is scheduled to
- 34:32Speaker 1: join us on Thursday.
- 34:34Speaker 4: Where is he, crats, You know, I do not know.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Is he in Orlando? Because his daughter used to play
- 34:41Speaker 4: volleyball and there's a huge volleyball tournament.
- 34:42Speaker 2: We can get him on live raise what I was
- 34:46Speaker 2: just told.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Where at.
- 34:49Speaker 1: He's a senior advisor to the Baseball Operations department with
- 34:53Speaker 1: the race.
- 34:54Speaker 3: That's some pray for him because he lives in the
- 34:55Speaker 3: Tampa area.
- 34:57Speaker 1: It is, and he's slat on with a good team
- 35:01Speaker 1: right now.
- 35:02Speaker 3: I love when you run into a random X big
- 35:08Speaker 3: League manager. Freddie Gonzalez just randomly showed up at a
- 35:12Speaker 3: at a game in the fall, and I was like,
- 35:14Speaker 3: what on earth are you doing here in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
- 35:17Speaker 3: He lives there. I'm around there. Some guys are home.
- 35:19Speaker 3: You just don't think of those guys being home. He
- 35:23Speaker 3: lives there. He lives in outside Philly.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, there were two firings last year. I might be
- 35:29Speaker 1: missing others, but Brandon Hyde and Derek Shelton not your fault.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Derek Shelton is.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Management Twins team that has no business being this good
- 35:38Speaker 1: right now.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I mean they're not great.
- 35:39Speaker 3: But Brandon had that team in the playoffs two years
- 35:43Speaker 3: in a row.
- 35:43Speaker 1: And then they gave him negative pitching and they fell apart. Shocker,
- 35:49Speaker 1: those two both got the raw end.
- 35:52Speaker 3: And now Craig Alburnos is dealing with it.
- 35:54Speaker 1: He is, but they had a much better offseason and
- 35:57Speaker 1: that's why they're at least in the mix. Last year
- 36:00Speaker 1: they were already a disaster.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:04Speaker 1: The Eorls, yeah, I mean, for all that's gone wrong,
- 36:06Speaker 1: they're what a few games under.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Five hundredybody in the wild card in the American League, right.
- 36:11Speaker 1: But they're not like fifteen under five hundred or whatever.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I mean, they're they're there. Pete's playing well lately again
- 36:17Speaker 1: obviously not surprising, but the bats coming along there. Mark
- 36:25Speaker 1: Trumbo is good. He delivers it if things are going well,
- 36:30Speaker 1: if things are not going well, and of course for
- 36:31Speaker 1: the Angels things are not going well. He does not
- 36:34Speaker 1: hold back, and he watches every game and when you
- 36:38Speaker 1: hear him go over what's going on with netto right now?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Both defensively and at the plate.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I mean, he lays it out and it's a guy
- 36:45Speaker 1: with credibility, this guy who's watching the games, and he
- 36:48Speaker 1: delivers in an entertaining way. So you don't want to
- 36:51Speaker 1: see a guy play this poorly. But if that's happening,
- 36:55Speaker 1: you're there for therapy. Halo Territory has a Foriocrats, and
- 36:58Speaker 1: I mean we were cracking up to Trombo's delivery is good.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I mean sometimes, don't you think sometimes a player like that.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily saying that Oakuse he's never come on
- 37:08Speaker 1: the show. I don't know him for anything. He won't
- 37:09Speaker 1: do interviews. But don't you think sometimes a player needs
- 37:12Speaker 1: that kind of combo, like, hey, dude, stop pimping singles
- 37:15Speaker 1: or whatever he was talking about.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, I think everybody needs to be
- 37:21Speaker 3: kept in check. Obviously I haven't watched enough Angels games.
- 37:24Speaker 3: But what Trumbo's saying is what he's seeing. And this
- 37:28Speaker 3: is a dude who was in the clubhouse. He's talked
- 37:30Speaker 3: about it a lot in the clubhouse, and some things
- 37:33Speaker 3: need to be said. It's cool on that show because
- 37:37Speaker 3: he's saying what needs to be said and fans get
- 37:39Speaker 3: to hear it.
- 37:41Speaker 1: You know, we're just mentioning the Oriols. They're two and
- 37:43Speaker 1: a half out of a while card. The Astros are
- 37:45Speaker 1: four out, they're thirty three and forty one.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Like that. That's not good. But Hunter Brown is returning tonight.
- 37:51Speaker 3: From ravel does is returning well other side, you're different team.
- 37:55Speaker 1: They also have a top five hitteror easy in baseball.
- 37:59Speaker 1: He might be number won this year for act for
- 38:02Speaker 1: players that are playing right now, I mean Judge is
- 38:04Speaker 1: hurting not the same, you know, with the injury right now,
- 38:07Speaker 1: you're not abreas is. He's a monster, ridiculous. He's so
- 38:11Speaker 1: fun to watch on ABS too. He is putting up
- 38:16Speaker 1: MVP caliber numbers. Yeah, he's got a shot.
- 38:19Speaker 3: He's a monster. If he stays healthy.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and if he keeps the astros in the mix.
- 38:24Speaker 3: We always say if, why is it always if he's
- 38:26Speaker 3: because I's not like it's always if. It's always if
- 38:29Speaker 3: if if if if if? Because I hope he wins.
- 38:32Speaker 3: We need more. I hope he wins the MVP because
- 38:35Speaker 3: we'll go back and I'm gonna have somebody go back
- 38:37Speaker 3: and clip Scott saying he's an MVP. There's no chance
- 38:42Speaker 3: he's ever gonna win an MVP. I mean, he's he's
- 38:44Speaker 3: a DH. There's no chance he wins an MVP. So
- 38:48Speaker 3: he'll be my vindication. Come on, you are don hit
- 38:50Speaker 3: fifty six homers with one hundred and thirty four RBIs
- 38:53Speaker 3: for your.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Last place, Astros. I hope he does.
- 38:56Speaker 3: They're not the last place because they have the Angels
- 38:57Speaker 3: in their division. Okay, second to last place.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Good game tonight, watch that one Bramber against Hunter Brown.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Fun show. Thanks Tommy fam great interview.
