  Speaker 2: And guys, people said a man, all right, all right, okay,

  Speaker 2: chapter eight, the Book to John chapter eight, we're gonna

  Speaker 2: take the first two verses together, Verses one and two.

  Speaker 2: It says, but Jesus went to my olive. Now we
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: know little background in John chapter seven. We just got
• 5:20
  Speaker 2: done seeing the five thousand fed Well that was six actually,
• 5:27
  Speaker 2: but seven. Uh, this is the feast of Tabernacles where
• 5:33
  Speaker 2: his brothers encouraged him to go openly Jesus decided to
• 5:38
  Speaker 2: go secretly because the Jews decided decided to kill him
• 5:42
  Speaker 2: because he healed a man on the Sabbath. And as
• 5:45
  Speaker 2: he went he taught the crowd. And he is always
• 5:48
  Speaker 2: making these claims that I am the bread of life.

  Speaker 2: He who eats of me shall be satisfied. I am
• 5:56
  Speaker 2: the living water. He who drinks of me shall never
• 5:59
  Speaker 2: thirst again. And so we need to get the hint
• 6:03
  Speaker 2: that Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the only one
• 6:09
  Speaker 2: who could quench that longing in our soul, the thing
• 6:13
  Speaker 2: that we search for. We try to get it out
• 6:15
  Speaker 2: of relationships. We try to get out our drugs or
• 6:18
  Speaker 2: gambling or whatever sin of our choice. We try to
• 6:22
  Speaker 2: feel a void in our hearts where only God can
• 6:26
  Speaker 2: satisfy our souls and fill that void. And so that's
• 6:32
  Speaker 2: step one, is allowing the Lord to satisfy us, to
• 6:37
  Speaker 2: fill us up. We need to drink and eat of
• 6:41
  Speaker 2: him daily. And we saw his disciples walk away from
• 6:45
  Speaker 2: him because of this teaching. They said it was a
• 6:48
  Speaker 2: hard saying. But we also saw the twelve stay with
• 6:53
  Speaker 2: them because they said, you are the only one who
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: has the words of eternal life. Amen. And we also
• 7:02
  Speaker 2: saw that you cannot follow him for the wrong motives.

  Speaker 2: The crowd wanted to follow him because they ate the
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: loaves and the fish. But he says, no, you know,
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: eat of me the things that would satisfy you, not
• 7:24
  Speaker 2: just food for your belly. You know, I'm paraphrasing, But
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: that's some of the background that we see. But in
• 7:35
  Speaker 2: verse eight it picks up. It says, but Jesus went
• 7:37
  Speaker 2: to the Mount of Olives. Now early in the morning,
• 7:42
  Speaker 2: he came again into the temple, and all the people
• 7:47
  Speaker 2: came to him, and he sat down and taught them. Now,
• 7:55
  Speaker 2: this was a normal practice of Christ. He loved to
• 8:00
  Speaker 2: sit down, and he loves to teach, and he loves
• 8:04
  Speaker 2: to explain. Now, this was a familiar place for Jesus
• 8:14
  Speaker 2: to retreat and to pray. The mouth of Allahus was
• 8:17
  Speaker 2: a place of communion with the Father and the quietness
• 8:24
  Speaker 2: of that early morning. Jesus returned to teach, showing his
• 8:30
  Speaker 2: consistent devotion to both God and to people. How amazing
• 8:38
  Speaker 2: would that be to sit there and hear from God
• 8:42
  Speaker 2: himself a man physically like we hear from him in
• 8:46
  Speaker 2: the spirit. But man, they didn't know who they had
• 8:53
  Speaker 2: in their miss you know what I mean. Now, also,
• 8:58
  Speaker 2: this shows us his consistency. You see, Jesus didn't just
• 9:01
  Speaker 2: show up for the crowds. He showed up for the Father. First,
• 9:07
  Speaker 2: we learned here that private prayer fuels public power. Let
• 9:12
  Speaker 2: me say that again. That is a t shirt private prayer,
• 9:18
  Speaker 2: it will fuel public power, public ministry. Amen, that is awesome.

  Speaker 2: All right, let's go to three and six. Three. Then
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman caught
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: in adultery. And when they had set her in the
• 9:47
  Speaker 2: midst they said to him, teacher, this woman was caught
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: in adultery in the very act. Now, Moses in the
• 9:56
  Speaker 2: law commanded us that such should be. But what do
• 10:02
  Speaker 2: you say this? They said, testing him, that they might
• 10:08
  Speaker 2: have something of which to accuse him. But Jesus stooped
• 10:13
  Speaker 2: down and wrote on the ground with his finger, as
• 10:18
  Speaker 2: though he did not hear. Now this is very interesting
• 10:25
  Speaker 2: right here. You see the Pharisees they were interested in
• 10:30
  Speaker 2: accusing him, not in righteousness. They were interested in trapping Jesus.

  Speaker 2: At this point, if he said stoner, he'd contradict his
• 10:45
  Speaker 2: own message of mercy, and they were trying to trip
• 10:49
  Speaker 2: him up that's what they're trying to do. You see,
• 10:52
  Speaker 2: if he said let her go, then he'd seemed to
• 10:56
  Speaker 2: disregard the law of Moses. So it's one of those
• 11:01
  Speaker 2: catch twenty two's you're wrong if you do and you're
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: wrong if you don't. Right now, this is the heart
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: of religious hypocrisy right here, using people's pain to push
• 11:18
  Speaker 2: an agenda. And we see this so much, We even
• 11:23
  Speaker 2: see this in politics. Right, So be careful of anyone
• 11:27
  Speaker 2: who wants to expose sin more then they want to
• 11:32
  Speaker 2: restore a soul. Let me say that again, beware of
• 11:38
  Speaker 2: anyone who all they want to do is expose sin
• 11:44
  Speaker 2: more than they want to expose, I mean, restore someone's life.
• 11:52
  Speaker 2: My question is where was the man if she was
• 11:55
  Speaker 2: caught in the very act of adultery. According to the
• 11:59
  Speaker 2: law of Moses, the man was to be stoned as well.
• 12:04
  Speaker 2: And so hypocrisy was all over this thing, all right.
• 12:13
  Speaker 2: Let's go to a verse six through eight and says,
• 12:25
  Speaker 2: right here, they said, testing him that he might be
• 12:31
  Speaker 2: might have, that they might have something of which to
• 12:33
  Speaker 2: accuse him. But Jesus stood down and wrote on the
• 12:38
  Speaker 2: ground with his finger, as if he did not hear.

  Speaker 2: So When they continued asking him, he raised himself up
• 12:52
  Speaker 2: and said to them, he was without sin among you,
• 12:57
  Speaker 2: let him throw the first stone.

  Speaker 3: It looks like you lost another one.

  Speaker 2: And again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

  Speaker 2: Now this is very interesting. Then those who heard it,
• 13:16
  Speaker 2: being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one,
• 13:21
  Speaker 2: beginning with the oldest, even to the least, and Jesus
• 13:29
  Speaker 2: was let alone and the woman standing in the midst
• 13:37
  Speaker 2: All right, let's stop right there for a quick second.
• 13:43
  Speaker 2: Now that's an interesting that Jesus stooped down twice to write.
• 13:49
  Speaker 2: Once he wrote, and once after speaking, is symbolic of humility.
• 13:59
  Speaker 2: He who who was without sin, humbled himself before sinners.

  Speaker 2: Let me say that again, he who was without sin,
• 14:10
  Speaker 2: humbled himself before sinners. Now, notice Jesus didn't argue with
• 14:16
  Speaker 2: the Pharisees. He let conviction speak louder than confrontation. Sometimes
• 14:25
  Speaker 2: silence and truth are the loudest sermons. When you say
• 14:31
  Speaker 2: that again, silence and truth are the loudest sermons. He
• 14:39
  Speaker 2: just spoke the truth. We don't have to argue with
• 14:43
  Speaker 2: people about the gospel. All we have to do is
• 14:48
  Speaker 2: allow the conviction of the Holy Spirit to work. Sometimes
• 14:55
  Speaker 2: all we have to do is just sit there and
• 14:58
  Speaker 2: remain silent. There we quote the scripture or speak a
• 15:04
  Speaker 2: true principle out of the Word of God. That is powerful.
• 15:09
  Speaker 2: And I've heard pastors say that he was writing in
• 15:12
  Speaker 2: the saying maybe their names and what they did last night,
• 15:16
  Speaker 2: right because they walked away convicted. I mean, I don't know,
• 15:21
  Speaker 2: you know, that's just I think you know their interpretation.
• 15:27
  Speaker 2: But either way, the conviction of the Holy Spirit is real,
• 15:36
  Speaker 2: all right, nine through eleven. Let's go Versus nine through eleven,
• 15:47
  Speaker 2: and it says and those who heard it, being convicted
• 15:52
  Speaker 2: by their conscience went out one by one, beginning with
• 15:55
  Speaker 2: the oldest, even to the least. So something was convict them.

  Speaker 2: Feels well he was righting the saying, or as he said,

  Speaker 2: he who has no sin cast the first stone. And

  Speaker 2: you think sinners would be merciful, but sinners can be

  Speaker 2: the hardest on each other, especially when we see our
• 16:18
  Speaker 2: own sin on somebody else. That's when we really get judgmental.

  Speaker 2: And Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in
• 16:30
  Speaker 2: the midst. When Jesus had raised himself up, he saw
• 16:35
  Speaker 2: no one but the woman. He said to her, woman,
• 16:39
  Speaker 2: where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?
• 16:48
  Speaker 2: She said, no one? Lord? Now this is interesting, right,
• 16:57
  Speaker 2: no one, lord. Now, let's look at this. This is
• 17:08
  Speaker 2: the heart of the full Gospel of Christ. Mercy first,
• 17:16
  Speaker 2: then transformation next. Jesus didn't excuse her. Sin a freed
• 17:24
  Speaker 2: her from its power. Jesus didn't say, you're fine, keep
• 17:31
  Speaker 2: living how you want. He said, go and sin no more. Real.
• 17:37
  Speaker 2: Forgiveness empowers us to change. Now, let me make sure
• 17:44
  Speaker 2: I know I read. Let me see. Oh I didn't
• 17:49
  Speaker 2: read the whole verse. On eleven, it says, and she said,
• 17:52
  Speaker 2: no one, lord, And Jesus said to her, neither do
• 17:54
  Speaker 2: I condemn you. Go and sin no more. Let's park
• 17:59
  Speaker 2: it there for a second. He didn't say, oh, it's okay.

  Speaker 2: I know your heart while you're out there sinning. Oh
• 18:12
  Speaker 2: you know what, as a matter of fact, my grace
• 18:15
  Speaker 2: gives you a license to sin. Just pull out the
• 18:19
  Speaker 2: grace card every time you go and indulge your flesh.

  Speaker 2: He didn't say, oh, you know what, that's okay, you
• 18:27
  Speaker 2: can sin and still make it to heaven. No, he says,
• 18:30
  Speaker 2: go and sind no more real forgiveness empowers us to
• 18:37
  Speaker 2: change real forgiveness. Forgiveness will cause our lives to be transformed.

  Speaker 2: There's no such thing as one saved, always saved. That
• 18:52
  Speaker 2: is from the pits of hell. A lot of believers
• 18:56
  Speaker 2: are backsliding, and they're going back to their old life.

  Speaker 2: They're getting comfortable in their sin once again, not being convicted.

  Speaker 2: They might say they struggle with something, but the truth
• 19:15
  Speaker 2: is the power that comes from God in the Holy Spirit,

  Speaker 2: in the Word of God, can deliver us instantly from
• 19:25
  Speaker 2: any bondage of the flesh. Doesn't take twenty years to
• 19:32
  Speaker 2: get delivered. It just takes a heart. It takes us
• 19:38
  Speaker 2: to truly be renewed in our minds. It takes us
• 19:42
  Speaker 2: to cast down imaginations and taking every thought captive. It
• 19:46
  Speaker 2: takes us crying out to the Holy Spirit to change
• 19:50
  Speaker 2: our desires to line up with His word. It takes
• 19:58
  Speaker 2: in some cases, fasting in praying. It takes faith. It's

  Speaker 2: a fight. Don't give it up. Don't give up. All right, y'all,

  Speaker 2: in our lives. It's good to have someone pour into you.

  Speaker 2: Then also we need a mentee, someone that we can
