- 0:07Welcome back to the Simply Christ podcast hosted by Leon
- 0:10Martin, along with Aaron Keaton, Melvin Martin, Andrew Schrock
- 0:14and Dan Blatz. Let's get right to it.
- 0:19All righty, I guess we are ready for another Monday Night Bible
- 0:24Study webinar, so thanks for being on here.
- 0:27Looking forward to continuing our study through the Book of
- 0:31Colossians and see what we can learn there.
- 0:37So. Part of me, I got a little bit
- 0:39of a rough throat tonight that will make it through.
- 0:45So tonight I got Andrew and Melvin with us going to go
- 0:48through the 1st chapter of Colossians starting in verse 18.
- 0:54And as always, last week was a good one.
- 0:58I went back and listened to it a couple days ago just to see if
- 1:03it was as good as I remembered it was and it was.
- 1:07I enjoyed it very much. And so you can do the same
- 1:11thing. You can go back and check it out
- 1:13at my website www.simplychristmin.com or
- 1:18Google Simply Christ Ministries. Find it there before we kick it
- 1:22off though. Melvin, would you open us with
- 1:24the word of prayer? Sure, let's pray.
- 1:27Father, we praise you tonight. We thank you for this
- 1:30opportunity to be able to dig into your word and that we can
- 1:35look into Your word and take it for the way it is written.
- 1:39Father, I just pray that you guide us with the Spirit,
- 1:42Father, as we go through your Word, that it wouldn't, we
- 1:46wouldn't speak things that we want to speak from the flesh,
- 1:50but that it would, we would speak through the Spirit.
- 1:54And Father, we just thank you for giving us wisdom and
- 1:58understanding. And Father, I just pray for the
- 2:01people listening that you would open their hearts and open their
- 2:07ears, Father, that they can maybe see you in a new, greater
- 2:12way and your Kingdom. And because it's not about us,
- 2:16it's about you. You are the King of Kings and
- 2:19the Lord of Lords, and we thank you and we praise you in Jesus
- 2:23name, Amen. Amen.
- 2:27All right, Colossians Chapter 1. So going through this last week,
- 2:35one of the things that that we talked about is how that verse
- 2:401516 and 17 and we're going to continue this and just to kind
- 2:46of get the context here, he previous to the to verse 15, he
- 2:52was talking about who we are in Christ.
- 2:56That was what he he said. He delivered us from the power
- 3:00of darkness. He translated us into the
- 3:02Kingdom of his son. He made us suitable to be
- 3:05partakers of the inheritance of the Saints, swinging us with all
- 3:09might, whatever, whatever, whatever.
- 3:11Now verse 15 and on he's telling us why we can believe this
- 3:17basically, I think is what it what it is.
- 3:20He is going about talking about this, this Christ who is the
- 3:28image of the invisible, the first born of every creature.
- 3:30So on and so on goes he's whether they'll be from Thrones
- 3:34or the menus or powers. All things were created by him
- 3:38on for him and he is before all things and by him all things
- 3:42consist verse 17 and I we we talked about a little bit that
- 3:49This is why we can believe the things that he said about us is
- 3:55because he is the maker of us. He is the one that he says that
- 4:00he is the and another scripture is that he says that he is the
- 4:04author and the finisher in Hebrews of our faith.
- 4:08He, he wrote the plan and he wrote it based on our needs.
- 4:12He knew what when he made us, when he was, he was part of the
- 4:16creation team. God was however you would want
- 4:20to say that. And so when he designed us, he
- 4:23knew exactly what our shortcomings were, what our
- 4:25strengths were as a human race. And then he built this
- 4:30redemption plan that way. And that's why it is important
- 4:35that we know that this God is this, this Christ, this Redeemer
- 4:42knows what he's talking about when he calls us and, and he
- 4:48says that we he delivered us from the power of darkness.
- 4:51We can believe that we're supposed to believe that.
- 4:55So that that really was powerful last week, I thought to realize
- 5:01what what this is all about. And so we're going to is he's
- 5:03going to continue through this in verse 18 and verse 18 says,
- 5:08and he is the head of the body, the church who is the beginning,
- 5:13the first born from the dead, that in all things he might have
- 5:17preeminence. And I'll turn it over to you,
- 5:23Andrew here, here in a second. It's interesting to me that he
- 5:28says the first born from the dead.
- 5:31How many times have you seen something born from something
- 5:36dead that is OK, that is a seemingly innocent statement,
- 5:41but think about it for just one little second there and think
- 5:44about how that could have actually been.
- 5:46I think that is A and and really kind of the the central point of
- 5:50what he's going to talk about here.
- 5:51But anyway, Andrew, go ahead on your thoughts.
- 5:54Yeah, He uses that a lot to bring out his supreme supremacy
- 6:02or like his how he's superior to anything that has ever been
- 6:08before that he was God and man. He was begotten.
- 6:14In Hebrews we were dealing with the only begotten, the begotten
- 6:19of the Father or whatever was saying, and he was born the
- 6:23first born from the dead. And he's using.
- 6:27That. You say that's why he asked the
- 6:30pre eminence that in all things he might have the pre eminence
- 6:34that gives him a whole new level, that gives him a whole
- 6:39new authority, a whole new right.
- 6:41And Adam, Adam was the first Adam, this, the second Adam, the
- 6:49first Adam died and never came back.
- 6:52He wasn't born from the dead, he died unjustified, alienated,
- 6:58separated strangers and that Adam died without sin and he was
- 7:07born and roar raised from the dead and that gives him full
- 7:14authority. Like you look up the word
- 7:16preeminence. It means it's a state of
- 7:19paramount rank, dignity, or superiority, often meaning to be
- 7:24the best or most distinguished in a field.
- 7:27Key characteristics include undisputed, supremacist,
- 7:30supremacist, high distinction. Like on top, he's king, he's
- 7:39he's king, he's Lord of Lords, and he's the head of the church.
- 7:44He doesn't say a whole bunch of other things.
- 7:50He just says that he is the head of the church, and I use that a
- 7:54lot in our fellowship. If people try to think that I
- 7:59need to be Jesus for people, like I need to be the Holy
- 8:02Spirit for people, I need to get my stick out and start telling
- 8:06people how they need to act. I tell them Jesus Christ is the
- 8:10head of the church. I am not.
- 8:12Jesus Christ gave his Spirit to live and convict people.
- 8:15Andrew Schrock, hidden Jesus Christ is in fact the one in
- 8:22charge. He's the head of the church.
- 8:25And his point is that we follow him, not the Bishop, not the
- 8:30man, the Bishop. The ministry is supposed to
- 8:35teach. And I think the greatest part of
- 8:38ministry that no one talks about is if you look at Paul's
- 8:43ministry, what was he doing constantly?
- 8:46If the work of the ministry was what we would think today, then
- 8:51Paul kind of didn't do a really good job.
- 8:54His his job was to try to keep, get people to stop working and
- 8:59believe the gospel. The ministry today is trying to
- 9:03get you to believe the work, to prove that you believe the
- 9:07gospel where Paul's minister was stop working and believe the
- 9:10gospel. Stop believing people that are
- 9:15trying to tell you what to do. You know, the book of Colossians
- 9:20is all about that. It's about men have come in and
- 9:23begot you and bewitch you. And he's like, don't listen to
- 9:27him. Jesus Christ is the head of the
- 9:29church. Jesus Christ is the first born
- 9:31from the dead. Jesus Christ is righteous.
- 9:34His blood is what covers your sins.
- 9:36So I think it's quite awesome. Yeah.
- 9:41Yeah, that's good. That's that's absolutely right,
- 9:43Melvin. Yeah.
- 9:45You know, so I think we have gotten this really mixed up or a
- 9:49lot of people have gotten this mixed up in the church today.
- 9:53It seems like in a lot of churches and that, you know,
- 9:57pastors are bishops or whatever, or the head over everybody.
- 10:02And we blame it on the pastors and the the bishops, but it's
- 10:09not just all their fault either. Because the simple fact is, is
- 10:13that like you said, Andrew, there's there's a lot of people
- 10:17that just want someone to tell them what to do or to and they
- 10:22don't want to listen or to the spirit or they don't.
- 10:26I don't know what to write. I'm not sure what what they're
- 10:29thinking necessarily, but they just want a person, if someone
- 10:35in the flesh to tell them what to do.
- 10:37Where we just got done, you know, going through the book of
- 10:40Hebrews and now we're going through Colossians and it's like
- 10:44God is making a point. Well, Paul is making a point.
- 10:48God's making a point through Paul that look, guys, you have
- 10:53like in Hebrews, it says, you know, that we have a full access
- 10:57to the throne of God and that we can come to the throne boldly,
- 11:02each one of us, right? Not just the Bishop or not just
- 11:06the pastor of the church. And so he says, it says here he
- 11:12is the head of the body, the church.
- 11:15And in First Corinthians 11 where it talks about the head
- 11:20covering and most people, you know, that's all they talk about
- 11:24when they read First Corinthians 11.
- 11:26But there it says, but I would have you know that the head of
- 11:31every man is Christ and the head of the woman is a man and the
- 11:35head of the Christ is God. And so that's pointing out very
- 11:41plainly that it's, you know, God, Christ, man, and then the
- 11:46woman is the headship order. And we've got that all mixed up.
- 11:50And a lot of men don't want to take that responsibility, right,
- 11:54of of being able to listen to the Spirit and take control or
- 11:59take the lead, so to speak. They are looking to a pastor or
- 12:04someone else when Christ is the head of the church.
- 12:07And if we get that right, and I appreciate what you said,
- 12:11Andrew, about pointing that out to people that come to you
- 12:16because that is important because they need to know that
- 12:22it's not you or it's not me, it's not Leon, it's not anybody,
- 12:27it's Christ. Was Paul crucified, Right?
- 12:30Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:33So and then he says that he is the beginning in the first born
- 12:39from the dead and that in all things he might have pre
- 12:43eminent. So it's just that's why he can
- 12:46be the head of the church and that's why you or me or Leon
- 12:50can't be a head of the church is because we're not the beginning
- 12:53of the first born, right. We didn't raise from the dead,
- 12:56right, like Christ did. And so we don't have that
- 12:59authority and we don't have all things in preeminence like
- 13:04that's not us, like we're not. So it's just pointing out here
- 13:10very clearly what it looks like when Christ is 1st and Christ is
- 13:16the authority in everything and not here.
- 13:19It's talking about the church in specific.
- 13:25Good stuff, Melvin. Yeah, Cameron just posted and
- 13:28said Amen, Andrew been through that one.
- 13:31It's Jesus Christ as the head, not Jesus Shrock.
- 13:34That's. Right, that's a good one.
- 13:46You just got a new name, man. That's good, but you know, it,
- 13:53it's actually an age-old issue. And I agree with what Melvin
- 13:57said. We, we bring it on ourselves.
- 13:59Actually in a lot of ways, it's not, it's not just the pastors
- 14:02and the preachers, it's fault if they take a role that is
- 14:05unbiblical, they actually get pushed into that role.
- 14:09Will you anyone that's ever been in in part in in a in a new, you
- 14:14know, church or whatever you get pushed, you get pushed for that
- 14:19spot and and it just made me think of, you know, the the
- 14:24children of Israel when they came up to the promised land to
- 14:28Canaan and they sent the spies in, you know, and the spies came
- 14:32back and and they were so discouraged.
- 14:36They knew the promise. They knew that God said that
- 14:38this land is there is all they have to do is go in and possess
- 14:40it right. That was that was the promise
- 14:42that God had given them very plainly through Moses.
- 14:45And yet when these spies came back, it says in numbers there
- 14:51they said one to another, let us make a captain and let us return
- 14:55to Egypt. And they wanted that so badly.
- 14:58They wanted to ordain themselves a, a physical captain.
- 15:02They were not satisfied with God the, the one that was actually
- 15:06leading them and, and, and had prepared the way for them all
- 15:08the way. But they wanted to go back and
- 15:11they wanted to go back so bad that they decided that they were
- 15:16going to stone the some of them with stones and turn back and go
- 15:20back. They were that desperate for a
- 15:23physical leader that they could see and talk at reason with.
- 15:27And that is? Exactly what we deal with in
- 15:29this regard, I think it's exactly the same thing.
- 15:32It, it would just be so much easier if we could have somebody
- 15:36to talk with that that can talk back with us rather than just
- 15:40rely on, you know, the Holy Spirit of all things or
- 15:44whatever. You know, it just, it, it feels
- 15:47to, to somebody that is carnal, that doesn't feel right.
- 15:51It doesn't feel good. And that's why we face that.
- 15:54That's why we face that all the time.
- 15:56And the head of the body, the church, the other thing about
- 16:01that is, yeah, he's the head. He's the upper part, the top,
- 16:03the first. You know, he has preeminence.
- 16:07And it's so much so actually that if he wouldn't be, the
- 16:12church wouldn't be. Yeah.
- 16:13You know, he is the sole reason that there is a body of Christ,
- 16:18that there is a body that, you know, otherwise it wouldn't be
- 16:211. They're they're just there
- 16:22couldn't be. So yeah, when you're sharing
- 16:25there about the drone of Israel, if you go a little bit further,
- 16:29Moses went up to the mount and it was days, it wasn't years.
- 16:34It wasn't even, well, it was maybe a little over a month.
- 16:39They were like, we don't know what happened to Moses and this
- 16:41God that brought us out of Egypt.
- 16:45Let's make us a God. And they made a calf and they
- 16:50said that's what brought us out. Yeah, that's crazy, right To
- 16:56what you were talking about. Melvin and I, I kind of think of
- 17:01it in the way of also how men give up their leadership with
- 17:07their wives when they get married is the way we give it up
- 17:13is we think our job is to please and give our sweet girl
- 17:19everything she wants. But that is how we're going to
- 17:22have a great marriage is I won't make any decisions because I
- 17:27don't want to be this authoritarian.
- 17:30I so you don't have a backbone and when the wife like decision
- 17:37comes up, you go, hey, honey, what do you think about this?
- 17:40And you just, oh, that's up to you.
- 17:42I don't really care. Well, at that point you need to
- 17:44make a decision, but a lot of guys will then go, well, I would
- 17:49like for you to tell me what you would like and you can do that.
- 17:54But it I'm just using this for an example of how we then all of
- 18:00a sudden, eight years down the road, are shocked that she makes
- 18:03all the decisions that all of a sudden you are in the background
- 18:07like everything is like if and you're incapable of making
- 18:11decisions at this point because you haven't done it.
- 18:13You haven't learned by your mistakes.
- 18:15There was always you, you, you gave that head chip, that
- 18:20leadership away. And I know people can take this
- 18:25too far. There's all there are these men
- 18:27that grew up without being men and now they're kind of like
- 18:31over like overreacting. And to me, they're kind of
- 18:36authoritarians and, you know, abusing this whole concept.
- 18:41But I wanted to share that to say this, that I think a good
- 18:44leader in the church doesn't fall for that trap either.
- 18:50That trap of pleasing. Well, it's my responsibility.
- 18:54You know, I've heard the term Andrew, you need to man up and
- 18:57realize that you're the leader here and it's time you address
- 18:59some of these things. And you know, and I'm like,
- 19:07well, who's the head of the church?
- 19:11And then they were like, well, you're the head of this body.
- 19:13And it was about, it was about sin or the appearance of evil
- 19:19with a dating couple. And like, you need to address
- 19:23this. And I said, OK, I can do that.
- 19:27But on the same time, it's that sword cuts both ways.
- 19:33All people that have bad marriages can't show up at
- 19:35church either. Yeah, right.
- 19:39Good point. And now we're still all friends.
- 19:43And it cut to their heart and they repented and they're still,
- 19:47we're still friends, but there. If I was weak, I would have
- 19:55said, yeah, you know what? It is time I do my job.
- 20:01You know what I mean? So I think that is how like to
- 20:05what you're saying, Leon, is how we end up falling for it.
- 20:11Like Aaron did, Aaron did. Yep, Aaron did exactly that.
- 20:18Yeah, yeah, Cameron come in and again and said weak and lazy men
- 20:22push you up to that position if you're not careful.
- 20:25Yeah. And, and that's right.
- 20:28I the only, the only thing that I would say to that though, is
- 20:31that I would, I would say generally carnal men would push
- 20:35you into that position, ones that are unwilling to see the
- 20:39headship of Jesus in this matter of a church.
- 20:44Just what he's talking about the head of the body.
- 20:47You know, if you don't, if you can't recognize that, then of
- 20:49course you're going to be frantic for somebody to take
- 20:51control of the thing. I mean, what else is going to
- 20:53govern it? But if you, if you can
- 20:55understand what he's saying here in Colossians about himself,
- 20:59that takes all that worry away. If you, if you have dealt with
- 21:03the Holy Ghost before and have the Spirit of God inside of you
- 21:07directing your, your thoughts and your path.
- 21:10I mean, it's, it's comfortable. It's comfortable, but not to
- 21:14somebody that doesn't understand that, I guess.
- 21:17Well, there's also a balance. So there is a time to go and
- 21:20challenge your brother and say, Hey, what's going on here?
- 21:23But my challenge to that is just to the guy that would say, well,
- 21:27you're supposed to go and you know, well, have you.
- 21:30That's always my challenge. That's right.
- 21:33I I think if everyone of the church that has a problem with
- 21:37what's going on would go in love in the Christ like manner, go
- 21:42and talk about that person that they're talking to me about that
- 21:46they're concerned about. If everyone would say go up and
- 21:49just be brutally honest, like, Hey, this is this, this what it
- 21:52looks like? I was just want to know if
- 21:54you're aware of what this really looks like and what I mean it,
- 21:57it, it's not a good look. And you know, what's your idea
- 22:01here? If the voice of the whole body,
- 22:03if all these people would come and say, you know what, I they
- 22:07would realize that it's not just a couple of people that are
- 22:09angry. It's not this naggy old woman
- 22:12that always keeps complaining about everything.
- 22:15This. The whole church is speaking,
- 22:18and I'd rather have that if I was in trouble then finding out
- 22:23that they're talking about me behind my back every chance they
- 22:26get, complaining to each other about it.
- 22:28How about if there's a problem, go talk to me about it?
- 22:32And until I'm willing to do that, then I don't really have a
- 22:36right to go and complain to some guy that I think has a bigger
- 22:40stick than I do. Yeah.
- 22:45No, it's, I think this is a a subject that's important, you
- 22:49know, maybe not that wide of a subject, but it definitely,
- 22:52definitely effects a lot of people because the idea of a
- 22:58leader not jumping at the first chance to go, you know, tackle
- 23:02somebody's sin. That's nearly unheard of in the
- 23:06modern church today. It.
- 23:09Takes strength because at first I fell for it.
- 23:12I felt guilty. It's like yeah, what am I doing
- 23:15until I like wait a minute. So it's like you.
- 23:18That's why I appreciate so much for what you're saying.
- 23:20And you and Melvin was that we we make people that way.
- 23:28Yeah. Right.
- 23:29Like that's what you were saying right.
- 23:31Like we create our problem. Yeah.
- 23:35That we didn't know why because then when the tables are turned
- 23:38and. And you're the subject then.
- 23:42Oh, Andrew is this. He thinks he's somebody, you
- 23:45know. Yeah, but yeah.
- 23:51For sure. Yeah, it's, it's a fine, it's a
- 23:53fine line because I got pushed into that too, you know, and
- 23:57it's hard to make the right decision, you know, when someone
- 24:00comes to you and tries to think that you're the person that
- 24:04needs to straighten this out, whatever it is.
- 24:07And then it takes a lot of wisdom at that point to know
- 24:12what to do because it's so easy to give in to that person, you
- 24:17know, and say, well, yeah, you're right, you know, maybe,
- 24:19you know, and somebody needs to do something here or whatever.
- 24:22And The thing is, is that and there is time with and incidents
- 24:28where maybe it is someone needs to call something out.
- 24:32But the simple fact is this is that the Holy Spirit and God can
- 24:38do in 5 minutes what I takes me me as a human or a person to do
- 24:44in three years. You know so.
- 24:46Right. And I just want to say this,
- 24:51those people were not they were brought up that way though, Like
- 24:55I'm not not in these people. These people are good people.
- 24:58Like they they wanted what was right and I wanted what was
- 25:02right too. I didn't like this scenario
- 25:04situation either, but I just knew what the answer the answer
- 25:08was not me coming with the steak or kick this person out and kick
- 25:13that person out. Otherwise we'd have to kick
- 25:15everybody else out 'cause we all have issues.
- 25:17So that's right. Yeah.
- 25:19So. Yeah, it's funny how we get, you
- 25:22know. Yeah, I know I have a few
- 25:23problems myself, but I don't want you to go over there and
- 25:25fix that guy that's. That's technically what it is.
- 25:29It is. So, so there's one comment that
- 25:32I hear a lot of people say about churches, but since we're
- 25:35talking about churches is this is that they say, you know, I
- 25:40really like the way this church, you know, I like this church.
- 25:43And then we started going there and I started to see who these
- 25:47people actually are, right? And they say it's, and then we,
- 25:51we quit going. I'm not saying that's not
- 25:53legitimate sometimes, but the simple fact is this, you're
- 25:57messed up yourself too, right? I mean, why are you looking at
- 26:00someone else and saying, you know, I, I thought that this
- 26:04church was perfect until I figured out who these people
- 26:07actually are. Well, you're not perfect either,
- 26:09right? So I don't know.
- 26:11It's just a, it's a, it's a cycle that men are humans
- 26:16actually as a whole get into. It's been that way, you know,
- 26:21since the beginning of time, and it will be until the end of
- 26:26time. So yeah, just us talking about
- 26:28this right now just makes this verse so sweet.
- 26:32Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it does.
- 26:35And so rest. He is up there.
- 26:37He earned all the credentials. He's the one that died, he's the
- 26:41one that blood bled. He's the one that is in US, and
- 26:45he's the one that is has US presenting us up before the
- 26:49throne of God. He's the one that has our
- 26:52spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
- 26:54How pathetic. That's right.
- 26:56And how foolish of us to go. You know what?
- 26:59God is wanting me to go be the head of something, you know,
- 27:04like, yeah, I don't have the credentials like.
- 27:08You know, we're not, we're not even equipped.
- 27:09Properly. Yeah.
- 27:11You know, this is quite a sweet verse.
- 27:13Very free. Very free.
- 27:15Yeah, Amen. Yeah, Oh yeah, for it please the
- 27:24Father, that in Him, and should all fullness dwell, I'm going to
- 27:30read verse 20. And having made peace through
- 27:34the blood of his cross by him to reconcile all things unto
- 27:37himself by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or
- 27:42things in heaven. It it, you know, talking about
- 27:48this being a, a comfortable verse, one that that brings
- 27:53peace, knowing that Christ is the head of the body.
- 27:56We, it takes our responsibility or our sense of responsibility,
- 28:00maybe a way to try to reconcile everything because Jesus already
- 28:04did. And and he is the head.
- 28:06He's the thinking part of this body.
- 28:09But it's it's pleasing to God that Christ should have this
- 28:15completeness. This is this is interesting.
- 28:19Any comments on 18 or or 19 and 20 or one or the other about?
- 28:25Yeah, if you look, I just searched the word fullness and
- 28:30it is a blessing to read through them all as Psalms talks about
- 28:35him being the creator and the fullness and like he is
- 28:39basically repeating what Paul's saying there.
- 28:42It's almost like Paul wrote read Psalms.
- 28:46But the one that caught my attention was in John 116.
- 28:53Let's go there. It says, well, I'm going to
- 29:00start in 15. John bear witness of him and
- 29:04cried saying this was he of home.
- 29:07I spake he that cometh after me is preferred before me, for he
- 29:12was before me, and of his fullness have all we received,
- 29:18and grace for grace for the law was given by Moses, but grace
- 29:23and truth came by Jesus Christ. So if that's the case, I don't
- 29:31want to put my finger on it. I don't want to put my wisdom on
- 29:35it. I don't want to put my emptiness
- 29:38on it. When the fullness of God is in
- 29:42Christ Jesus, when he is the fullness and he gives us his
- 29:46fullness, then why do you why do why do we want when in my kind
- 29:50of I don't have any fullness except for the fullness of
- 29:54Christ that is given to me. So I mean that is, that is, that
- 30:01is sweet. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:04It's like the glove, you know, we're just the glove, but inside
- 30:09is the fullness. Yeah.
- 30:11What is? What makes it active and when
- 30:13worth anything? And then when it keeps going, I
- 30:15didn't comment on verse 20 where that he made peace on which
- 30:21cross. I preach that all the time.
- 30:25That's my one of my favorite preaching verses.
- 30:28His cross. It was his blood and his cross.
- 30:32You know, that's how he reconciled us.
- 30:34He did the reconciling. I, God didn't look at me and go,
- 30:38OK, Andrew's done enough. He's been faithful enough, long
- 30:42enough that I'm going to reconcile the reconciling, the
- 30:47bleeding, the redemption, the deliverance was done while I was
- 30:52not even born yet. In fact, the plan was before the
- 30:56foundation of the world. So I don't want to interfere
- 31:00with that. I don't want to put my human
- 31:04ideas, Adam on top and try to run a show the way I think it
- 31:08should be done because Jesus Christ, it's the head of the
- 31:11church. He's he's on top.
- 31:13He has all the preeminence, He's the one that died and he's the
- 31:16one that reconciles people to God.
- 31:18And it's my job as a minister and as leaders, it's our job to
- 31:23tell people that. It's our job to be strong men,
- 31:27strong leaders that will tell people don't follow that that's
- 31:31wrong. It's not the gospel.
- 31:33That is a man made traditions that you're following and it's
- 31:36beguiling you, It's bewitching you, it's deceiving you and
- 31:40you're no longer in the faith. But that's our job.
- 31:43That's where we can be men and strong leaders.
- 31:46You know, that's that's it. Like it's to keep people
- 31:51believing the gospel. Amen, boy, couple couple weeks
- 31:56ago, I think you said Andrew that that that guy that said
- 32:00with the gospels this easy, you know what is our job?
- 32:03I think you just answered that question right here.
- 32:05That is our job, you know, making sure that we know that
- 32:09there is peace available through his cross and it's done.
- 32:13It's not something that that we got to come up with some Helvin
- 32:17Melvin, that your beauty, I'll get you.
- 32:23Please. OK.
- 32:24You're good. Sorry, I had muted it so it
- 32:29where it says very please the Father that in him should all
- 32:31the phone is dwell. I'm just going to say one thing
- 32:33to that in my mind. This is just he is making a
- 32:38statement here that that is why Christ can be the head of the
- 32:42church and that he is preeminence over all things
- 32:45because the IT because it please the Father that in him should
- 32:49all the phone is dwell in Christ.
- 32:51And so it like gives him the authority to be able to be the
- 32:55head of the church. And then it says in having made
- 32:59peace through the blood of the cross by him to reconcile all
- 33:03things unto himself. That is the part that stood out
- 33:06to me that by him to reconcile all things unto himself by him.
- 33:11I say whether they be things in heaven or thing or things in
- 33:15earth or things in heaven. So the simple fact is, is that
- 33:19sin and religion and all these things separates us from Christ,
- 33:26right, and from God. But it is Jesus that reconciles
- 33:32us to him, right? And and the blood of the of his,
- 33:37like you said, his cross, not not anybody else's cross, but
- 33:41Jesus cross that reconciles us, in other words, brings us back
- 33:46to him. Now we are his bride like we we
- 33:50are part of Christ and we were lost and now we're found, right?
- 33:55We were darkness and now we have light and all those things.
- 33:59That's just so awesome. But the thing that stood out to
- 34:02me too is it says whether they be things in earth or things in
- 34:06heaven. So again, that is like, OK, so
- 34:10does that mean you know everything?
- 34:12Well, it says whether they be things in in earth or in things
- 34:17in heaven. One of the verses I think of, I
- 34:20guess, is Romans 8. It says, when I think of that, I
- 34:27think of this, and 821, and 22 and 23.
- 34:30It says, because the creature itself also shall be delivered
- 34:33from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the
- 34:37children of God. For we know that the whole
- 34:39creation groweth and travaileth and pain together until now, but
- 34:44not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first
- 34:48fruits of the Spirit, even we growing within ourselves,
- 34:51waiting for the adoption to the wit and the redemption of our
- 34:55body. And it's only through Jesus
- 34:58Christ that that is possible that that we can be our bodies
- 35:03can be redeemed and and reconciled back to him, that we
- 35:08can be reconciled back to him. So it's just a very powerful
- 35:11verse. This whole thing is, what if we
- 35:15can grasp this, like you were saying earlier, Leanne, or one
- 35:19of you I think was saying that if we can just grasp this whole
- 35:22thing, we would just yeah, it changes your life.
- 35:26It just does. It really does.
- 35:29And you know what? What makes it so special?
- 35:32When I, when I think about having made peace through the
- 35:37blood of His cross and by him, reconcile all things unto
- 35:40Himself. So then if this were another
- 35:46human being speaking, it would be impressive.
- 35:49But this is the the guy that's doing the reconciling back unto
- 35:52himself and the guy that made the peace on the cross is a guy
- 35:58is a man is a a being that knows not only your actions, but he
- 36:03knows your deepest thoughts. He knows your intense.
- 36:07That is what makes this so special.
- 36:09And he, he knows how utterly unsophisticated and radical and,
- 36:16and dumb and and evil, the desires that we have are just,
- 36:22you know, indescribable sometimes.
- 36:25And yet he went to the cross, you know, before, while we were
- 36:30yet sinners, He says he went and he died for those.
- 36:33And that is an incredible story. Who and who would ever do
- 36:38something like that? You know, scarcely for a
- 36:42righteous man would one die, right?
- 36:44I mean, and and here this this Christ, you knew everything
- 36:48about us are the best and the worst.
- 36:51And yet he did and yet he did and he reckon siled us again
- 36:56back to himself. That's that's just beauty.
- 36:58That's a gift, and I'm telling. What do you think about the
- 37:02peace? What is the biggest thing the
- 37:05missing in the world is peace and peace is not something that
- 37:14how do I say this? It helps me to know that Jesus
- 37:17Christ made peace. It's not up to me to make peace
- 37:24necessary. God made peace for me.
- 37:27That gives me a whole lot of peace.
- 37:29You know, the the reason people don't have peace, or could I say
- 37:37it as radical as this, If we understood who made peace and
- 37:45that it wasn't up to us to make peace, but that Jesus Christ
- 37:49made peace for us, we have no other option than to have peace.
- 37:55If we understand it, that is, that is the result of us
- 38:00understanding that is where peace.
- 38:01I mean, if God made peace and then I have peace, I can, I can,
- 38:09I could have peace knowing that got me peaceful.
- 38:13The reason I don't have peace is if somebody's telling me that I
- 38:16need to do something in order to get peace.
- 38:21The reason I can have peace when the worst things are happening,
- 38:26when everybody is saying there's wars and rumors of wars and that
- 38:30the end times are near and we need to prep and all that.
- 38:33All those things that build up anxiety and stress.
- 38:36And yeah, I'm not saying you put your head in the sand, but so
- 38:40many people are all these Youtubes and things of trying to
- 38:44scare you to breathe fear. It's like, oh, this is doom and
- 38:47gloom. I see what Trump just did here.
- 38:50It's another fulfillment. I don't like what I'm seeing,
- 38:52blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, it's going to happen.
- 38:55God already told us it's going to happen.
- 38:58Everything's going to go to hell in a handbasket at the end.
- 39:01We already know that. But guess what?
- 39:06Jesus Christ made peace and I can help.
- 39:11Yep, genuine peace right now. Yeah, and that, and that's a
- 39:15true and that's a true peace. You know, when when US men or
- 39:20humans try to make peace, it's just carnal.
- 39:24It's, it's, it doesn't last like it, it's a superficial thing.
- 39:28It just doesn't it, it, it's temporal like, but when Jesus
- 39:33made peace on the cross, it's like it, it's forever, right?
- 39:37And when he gives us that peace, we can have peace.
- 39:41That kind of peace in the midst of chaos, actually, where, where
- 39:46the peace that man is trying to bring is like, you know, like
- 39:50everything is just nice and evil.
- 39:54Well, that's not peace. That's not true peace.
- 39:58Well, have you ever, have you ever thought about it too, that?
- 40:01You have to have a certain amount of authority in order to
- 40:04create peace. Yeah.
- 40:07So. So we have recently, we have
- 40:09heard a lot about peace through strength.
- 40:11That's one of Trump's cries, you know, peace through strength.
- 40:14You know, we're going to have the best military in the world
- 40:17that way. When we say you do this, you do
- 40:20this, and because of the strength that we have, we have
- 40:22peace. And that is actually how it is
- 40:25in this case when God says that I have made peace, he made
- 40:31peace. When when we say I want to make
- 40:35peace with you, God, but we don't have access to Christ, we
- 40:38can make, we don't have the right tools to make peace.
- 40:41No, we don't have the power to make peace.
- 40:44God does. That's right, Christ does.
- 40:47So when he says that that's the way it's going to be the same
- 40:51way that when President Trump says that you're going to open
- 40:53the strain or whatever to let the oil through, they're going
- 40:56to open it up or they're, you know, no, because we, we have
- 41:00the authority right now to make that happen when we.
- 41:05And Jesus Christ had the authority and credentials to
- 41:07make peace. Absolutely.
- 41:09That's right. We'll do it, Melvin.
- 41:10That's right. That's so good, Leon.
- 41:13Like, yeah. Yeah, 100%, man, I'm telling you
- 41:17this is this is for real. The other thing I thought about
- 41:20this verse, Melvin, you touched on this just a little bit,
- 41:24whether they be things in earth or things in heaven, that is
- 41:27another element that brings me peace because so right now on
- 41:32earth here, I know that God, I feel peace toward God, not
- 41:39worried about meeting him because of what Christ said that
- 41:44he did to me in him right? So I have I have that peace and
- 41:49he says or things in heaven. So when I get to heaven, when I,
- 41:53when I leave this earth, that exact same mediator, that exact
- 41:58same piece, that exact same statement is going to be the
- 42:01same up there. So I won't, I won't get up
- 42:04there. It'll get different operating
- 42:06system and I'll be like, oh man, I was OK down there.
- 42:09But now that I'm up here, I'm in trouble.
- 42:10No, it's not. It is in heaven and on earth.
- 42:13This thing is continuously through.
- 42:15It is. We are completely covered from
- 42:17from earth to the grave wall. That's right, I don't.
- 42:21Know, I don't know if that's exactly what that's saying
- 42:24there, but I think it is. Of course it is.
- 42:28Remember, He's the creator of all things.
- 42:30He's above all principalities and powers.
- 42:32He triumphed over them openly. He.
- 42:35He created the principalities and powers.
- 42:37He created life and death. He created time and matter, time
- 42:42and space. There was no time before he
- 42:45created it. And He holds the beginning and
- 42:49the end. He's the alpha in the Omega, the
- 42:51one that was dead but now is alive.
- 42:54Like he holds both ends. And he made peace from both
- 42:59ends. That's right.
- 43:01Amen. And connected us, reconciled us,
- 43:03made US1 with the one up there. Like when he shed his blood, he
- 43:08took that blood and went up to the temple up there.
- 43:11And he put out blood from down here up there.
- 43:14And that blood up there is speaking better things.
- 43:20I'm trying to think real quick. In Hebrews we there was a verse
- 43:24being a mediator because this one, he doesn't die, you know, a
- 43:30better mediator for reason of anyway, think about Jesus being
- 43:36our mediator. He's forever the same, forever
- 43:38and ever. The Alpha Omega, just what you
- 43:40were saying. That's good.
- 43:43Yeah, yes, indeed. I'm reading the comments, the
- 43:48mind pollution on social of the social media world at the moment
- 43:53is is a part of our life and ministry that we need to know
- 43:57how to manage. Yeah, that's right.
- 43:59Because there's a lot of crud out there.
- 44:02We'll take the piece. Of right away.
- 44:04Oh yeah, they will. But boy, if you read stuff like
- 44:07this and you just go ahead and, and pay attention to it, man,
- 44:11it's, it's exciting. I don't care who you are.
- 44:15That's right. All right, That doesn't get your
- 44:18fire lit, your woods wet. I like that comment.
- 44:26All right, 21 And you that were sometime alienated and enemies
- 44:34in your mind by wicked works. Yet now hath he reconciled.
- 44:39And I'll let you give your thoughts on this, Andrew.
- 44:41But the one thing that that comes to mind when I read that
- 44:45verse is that there's two kind of people.
- 44:49There's the ones that were alienated and they're the ones
- 44:53that are no longer alienated, that that captures every single
- 44:57human being in in that ever lived right there because there
- 45:00wasn't, there was only one and his name was Jesus and not Jesus
- 45:04Shrog either. There was.
- 45:09Only use that when I'm preaching.
- 45:11Oh, trust me, I'm going. To be but, but what I'm saying
- 45:16is every one of us were sometime alienated except one person
- 45:22ever. So, you know, and and I use that
- 45:25as part of the Gospel message sometimes, you know, because you
- 45:28don't, you weren't just naturally a friend of God's that
- 45:34that came by the blood of Jesus. No other way.
- 45:36So anyway. Andrew, go ahead.
- 45:39Yeah, the the word that pops out for me on this one by wicked
- 45:43works, agonated by wicked works, all of the horrible stuff that I
- 45:49know I've done, and just the human side of humanity, the dark
- 45:54side, the darkness, the flesh, all the things that we don't
- 45:59like, that we hate, that it doesn't make peace, that brings
- 46:03guilt, condemnation, despair, anguish, feel like just no
- 46:12peace, the opposite of peace, the opposite of deliver, the
- 46:16opposite of light. That is what alienated us.
- 46:19That's what separated us. And he said that's the exact
- 46:22thing that he came back to restore that, you know, that
- 46:29means the wicked works do not intimidate.
- 46:33Do not intimidate me to come to God.
- 46:37Because that's exactly what God said, that.
- 46:39Yeah, you know, those wicked works that alienated you.
- 46:43I know all the bad stuff you did.
- 46:45I can see right through you. But guess what?
- 46:47I fixed it. I fixed it for you.
- 46:52You know, that's good news for Sinner.
- 46:55Sinners need to hear that. Don't shy away from God because
- 46:59of your wicked works. That's exactly what why God came
- 47:04and made peace for the blood of His cross to reconcile you.
- 47:08It's because of your wicked works that were the problem.
- 47:11So don't let the thing that God had to fix be the thing that
- 47:15keeps you from coming to the fix.
- 47:20Yep, They're either going to be right there in front of your
- 47:23wicked works or either going to be right there in front of you,
- 47:26or they're going to be completely gone.
- 47:28There will be nothing in between that.
- 47:30Either all of them or none of them.
- 47:32Oh boy, that's good, Melvin. Yeah, I just want to point out
- 47:36there he says that you were sometimes alienated and enemies
- 47:39in your mind by wicked work. Yet now have you reconciled?
- 47:44It's just like you said, Andrew. Sinners think that they can't
- 47:49come to God because of the wicked things that they have
- 47:52done. And that is the thing in their
- 47:53mind actually that is blocking them from actually accepting the
- 47:59gospel of Jesus Christ because it's not true.
- 48:03That's not true. It doesn't matter what you have
- 48:05done in the past or how wicked your works were and that you
- 48:10think in your mind how wicked they were.
- 48:14But the the truth is, is that yet now had he reconciled like
- 48:18Christ has reconciled that by the the cross.
- 48:24And in Romans 59 and 10 it says this much more than being now
- 48:28justified by his blood, we should be saved from wrath
- 48:31through him. For if when we were enemies, we
- 48:34were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more
- 48:38being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- 48:41So in other words, when we were in our wicked works and we were
- 48:47enemies to God Despite that Christ died on the cross for
- 48:52that and that we just need to believe that and, and trust in
- 48:57that by faith, right? And and then we can be
- 49:01reconciled. That's so that's good news.
- 49:06It's like it's what he had on that's actually what was on his
- 49:09mind. But that's that that's what he
- 49:12had in mind. It's through reconcile sinners.
- 49:16I mean, I came to save that which was lost.
- 49:22I didn't come for the people that were whole.
- 49:26I came for those that need a physician and you became their
- 49:31physician. And Romans 80 says there's no,
- 49:35therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
- 49:40Amen. So if you have condemnation,
- 49:42you're guilty, then you need to renew your mind, like Melvin was
- 49:47saying. Yep, so must the Son of Man be
- 49:51lifted up like the serpent was in the wilderness, that all that
- 49:56would look at him would be healed.
- 49:59All. Right, one more 22 And by the
- 50:04way, verse 21 through the remainder of the chapter, verse
- 50:0820 or yeah, 29 is all one sentence again.
- 50:11So I don't know if the if Paul forgot how to write short
- 50:16sentences or if he was really on a roll.
- 50:17And I bet he was really on a roll because of what he was
- 50:20writing. But anyway, yeah, it's kind of
- 50:22hard to chop this up some some of it.
- 50:24But anyway, 21 And you that were sometimes alienated and enemies
- 50:29in your mind by wicked works, yet now have he reconciled in
- 50:33the body of his flesh through death to present you holy and
- 50:38unblameable and unreprovable in his sight.
- 50:42And and again, I'll go back to what what I said earlier.
- 50:48We're dealing with the the guy that can see right through as
- 50:51you mentioned it a minute ago, Andrew, And he says that he can
- 50:56present us holy. That is a that is a pill for me
- 51:01to swallow. It is it is hard for me to
- 51:05swallow that that Christ who is so loving would take and have
- 51:13the, the audacity, the guts to be able to present me.
- 51:20You know what that means? Like so I take something and I,
- 51:23I hold it up to be inspected. I Christ is saying, this is one
- 51:29of mine. This is 1.
- 51:32That the blood that I shed on the cross he accepted, and for
- 51:37that reason I can hold him up and I can present him to you,
- 51:41God, the holy God, the creator of the universe, and say this
- 51:45man is holy and unreprovable and unblameable.
- 51:52That is that. That is almost too good to be
- 51:54true. That is almost too good to be
- 51:57true, man. But that's why we live.
- 52:01That's why Christians walk with a smile on their face right
- 52:03there. That's a good part of it,
- 52:05Andrew. Yeah, that's the gospel.
- 52:08When you preach it, they're most people will call it easy
- 52:11believism. Yep, it's it's too easy, but it
- 52:18is too easy if you're looking at something that you need to fix.
- 52:25But when you see that you're so unfixable that you're so
- 52:29unrepairable that you're way more wicked than you think that
- 52:33you're way more filthy than you think that God looks at you and
- 52:36he goes, Oh my gosh, even the thoughts are corrupt.
- 52:40I mean, their throat is in constant Opal and sepulcher.
- 52:43There's murder, there's strife, there's like, I mean, read
- 52:47Romans one if you think you're pretty decent.
- 52:49He says we're all going out of the way.
- 52:51We're all like a bunch of coffins and for him to take that
- 52:59garbage that still of a human being and purify it through the
- 53:05purifying of his blood to to the point where it's an unholy thing
- 53:11becomes a holy thing and a blameable thing becomes an
- 53:15unblameable thing and presents us that way before God.
- 53:21Andrew shock is holy and unbelievable.
- 53:24That's hard for me to swallow too, but I'm I'm choosing to be
- 53:28thankful. It's like I don't want to come
- 53:31with my vegetables and say, oh God, I know what you did.
- 53:34I want to show my appreciation here.
- 53:36Here is I'll do this for you to kind of offset the weight here
- 53:40because I'm so grateful. No, I already know that that's
- 53:44just a slap in the face of what he's done.
- 53:47The only thing that I can say is thank you.
- 53:49Thank you and walk in the light that he has made me in as much
- 53:53as absolute possible pray with Paul when he said he he doesn't
- 53:58quit praying for us that we grow in spiritual wisdom and
- 54:00understanding. And I think the reason guys that
- 54:03he goes through here and just is saying all the effects of the
- 54:08cross. I think it's in case we have
- 54:10missed it down the line, the ramifications of the cross.
- 54:14He goes, you know what this means.
- 54:16You're holy and unblameable in his sight.
- 54:19That's what the blood of the cross did when I'm talking about
- 54:22that. He's the head.
- 54:23He's before all things, and by him all things consists and all
- 54:26the credentials of Christ. And what that all means.
- 54:29It means that what it means for you is that you were alienated.
- 54:33You, you were alienated by your wicked works, and now you're
- 54:36reconciled. And now you're a holy that was
- 54:39not holy, but now is holy and unblameable and unreprovable.
- 54:43Can't be judged, can't be condemned.
- 54:46Unreprovable. No contest.
- 54:49No court case, no jury. It's been dealt with.
- 54:53You're unreprovable in his sight.
- 54:57Let's take it to the bank. Yep, out of the universe can
- 55:02take his flashlight and shine every angle on you and you're
- 55:06still on blame on what does holy mean, man?
- 55:11I don't know. Yeah, Melvin.
- 55:13I'm not holy, I know that, but I'm holy because of Christ is
- 55:17holy, you know. So the reason that he can
- 55:21reconcile us back to him and the reason that he can present you
- 55:28and me holy and unblameable and unreprovable is because of the
- 55:34first part of that verse. He says in the body of his flesh
- 55:38through death. So in other words, he became
- 55:41flesh. The Bible says he became one of
- 55:44us. He became like us, but without
- 55:48sin and because of that and then then he died on the cross for
- 55:56for us. But the body of his flesh is
- 56:00what stood out to me like, because he became like me, just
- 56:04like me, like I can't say, well, you know, Jesus is, you know,
- 56:08Almighty, which he is almighty. But because of that, you know,
- 56:12he can't, I can't believe in this or or believe that Jesus
- 56:17makes me holy or can reconcile me.
- 56:20But but he became like me and he was tempted in all ways as I am
- 56:25tempted. And so that makes him able to
- 56:28reconcile me, just me and my flesh, right?
- 56:33I can be reconciled and I can be holy and unblameable.
- 56:36That's a powerful thing. In 2nd Corinthians 511 it says
- 56:40this. For he had made him to be sin
- 56:43for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness
- 56:47of God in him. So I can't be holy and then
- 56:51there's no way that I'm unblameable or unreprovable.
- 56:55But it's only because of what Christ, because of what Christ
- 56:58has done and and who I am in Him.
- 57:03Yeah, I am. Let's not forget the reason he's
- 57:05writing this is because men have been spoiling believers through
- 57:09philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of man and not,
- 57:13not not after Christ. When we have this kind of
- 57:18understanding of this full complete redemption, when
- 57:23someone comes along and says, hey, you know, I think we should
- 57:30still keep the Sabbath. We didn't really enter into that
- 57:32rest. We don't have true peace.
- 57:34In order to really bring peace in your life, if you have to set
- 57:37away a day of rest. It's why they're shocked when I
- 57:41want to just go, you know, like. Yeah.
- 57:46Not for a second. Like it makes me so mad.
- 57:51And you can see that that anger is in Paul here where he's just
- 57:58like nailing a gospel like and in him as well.
- 58:02And he says they beguile you vain deceit, vain, not
- 58:08meaningful. And what's the problem?
- 58:11Days, days sounds pretty innocent to us.
- 58:17And that is where leaders, we need a backbone, man.
- 58:21We need to stop saying, well, at least they believe that Jesus
- 58:24Christ died for their sins. I'm glad for that.
- 58:26Paul doesn't say that. He says you've been deceived.
- 58:31He says right in this next verse, if you continue in the
- 58:33faith and not moved away from the hope of the gospel.
- 58:37Yeah. And he's calling it moved away
- 58:39if you keep one part of the law. Is that clear?
- 58:43Is that clear in Galatians? He says that if you are
- 58:46circumcised, you are what? Fallen from grace. 11 law,
- 58:54circumcision that wasn't even put in place by Moses.
- 58:58It was through by a it was a covenant that got made with
- 59:01Abraham, the father of faith. And he said, if you are
- 59:05circumcised, you're not you're that's another gospel.
- 59:10So how strong are we as leaders, as people that minister the
- 59:14gospel and not allowing that garbage, that leaven, he calls
- 59:20it a leaven that destroys a whole loaf of bread, a whole
- 59:23body of Christ. How strong are we?
- 59:26Or we go, you know, you know, I can really appreciate that
- 59:28family can really appreciate that person.
- 59:30You know, their hearts in the right place.
- 59:32They want what God wants. No, you believe in another
- 59:35gospel. You're being enticed and you're
- 59:38being deceived. Yeah, man, that's, that's good
- 59:45stuff. I could just sit here and
- 59:46listen. This is, I'd listen to a message
- 59:48like this for quite a while without even blinking, I think.
- 59:53But anyway, our, our, our, our hours up.
- 59:56Anything else that really has to be said on top of this yet?
- 59:59I keep some for next time I guess I.
- 1:00:02I I'm getting worked up now I better not.
- 1:00:04Yeah, keep keep 1 shell of your gun for next week.
- 1:00:11That's right, don't empty it out.
- 1:00:12No, no. Leaders cannot always go by
- 1:00:15feelings and sympathy and that unconditional love that
- 1:00:25undermines the gospel of Christ. Can't do it.
- 1:00:28Yeah. It's never worth it.
- 1:00:29It will never help anybody. It doesn't bring peace.
- 1:00:33It'll bring everybody back into bondage.
- 1:00:35And it's it's not. Another thing that ties into
- 1:00:39that is come to my mind is things that I have struggled
- 1:00:43with is pleasing man, being a man pleasure.
- 1:00:47You know, that's another thing that call falls into that
- 1:00:51category, what you're talking about and you're, you know,
- 1:00:53trying to please others. So yeah, we need backbones.
- 1:00:58That's that's correct. Not just the leaders, but
- 1:01:01everybody. We all of us that are, you know,
- 1:01:04believe the gospel and are walking in Christ.
- 1:01:07We all are ministers, right? So we all need backbones.
- 1:01:11No more of this double minded nonsense.
- 1:01:13That's right. And I that that's a tough one
- 1:01:16for me right there. It's easy for me to kind of
- 1:01:19well, like, you know, you were saying Andrew, about, you know,
- 1:01:21getting pressured into telling someone that they're sinning.
- 1:01:25You know, that is man, that's the tough one for me.
- 1:01:29It's easy for me to go down that road easy, you know.
- 1:01:32But he, yeah, he's going to make it plain next week when we get
- 1:01:35to this, if you can, we're wholly unbelievable and
- 1:01:39approvable. If you continue in the faith,
- 1:01:42that simple. You step away from that and it's
- 1:01:44no longer that way. So anyway, praise the Lord,
- 1:01:48we're we're good, God is good. Christ was complete when he said
- 1:01:53it is finished. He meant it and there was no
- 1:01:55bones about it. That's that's the way it is and
- 1:01:58that's the way it was then and it still is today.
- 1:02:00So I think we still have a comment we haven't read yet.
- 1:02:02Yes, Sir. At matter of fact that Cameron's
- 1:02:04been active, he says that and on fire.
- 1:02:07Love it. But Cameron was too.
- 1:02:10Yeah. All kinds of good stuff on
- 1:02:12there. So, yeah, the Levites would
- 1:02:15really be jealous of our ministry if they knew of it.
- 1:02:21That's good. Yeah.
- 1:02:22So anyway, thanks for that, Cameron.
- 1:02:25I appreciate your comments on there.
- 1:02:26Some good stuff, Jerry, Amen. I agree with you, good stuff,
- 1:02:30good stuff. So back next week, we're going
- 1:02:32to tear right into verse 23 and see once what else we can learn
- 1:02:37there. This has been a really, really
- 1:02:40blessing evening, so I'm going to go and ponder what we've been
- 1:02:44taught tonight. God bless you guys.
- 1:02:46Like I said, go back and find previous, the rest of the
- 1:02:50earlier versions of our Colossians in podcast or YouTube
- 1:02:54or Facebook. They're all over the place.
- 1:02:56Find Simply Christ Ministries and give it a listen.
- 1:02:58Thank you guys, appreciate it. God bless.
