- 1:52Good morning, good morning H train.

- 2:05to the show that we show all the programs that are out there
- 2:09beyond the VA My name's H we got V ^2 here.
- 2:14We got Caveman on the on the mixer and boy do we've got some
- 2:19stories and we've got a we got a top story that we're going to
- 2:24get in as well. If you want to join in the
- 2:27conversation, you can do so by calling in or texting
- 2:31720-619-0627 and the biggest one will go over to the the videos
- 2:41and this is the the top story for today.
- 2:51So these are the people that these are the people that these
- 2:54are the people that are breaking into your country falls.
- 3:00That's amazing. These are the people right here.
- 3:03That kind of attitude. Let's say tripod to hold your
- 3:10camera. So you see, there you go.
- 3:13So there you go. Next.
- 3:14These are the people. That are coming in are the ones
- 3:16laughing very. Easy to find my.
- 3:19Face By the way, if you are smart enough, you will know who
- 3:25I am, but you are really not smart.
- 3:28Enough. To know who I am.
- 3:34But soon you're going to know who I am.
- 3:39That OK, so if you're just joining us, we just played a
- 3:43video clip that is terrace identified as MOV MOV some, some
- 3:50of of and evidently he just got out of jail I guess 12 years out
- 3:56of jail for trying to take over a country like Afghanistan or
- 4:00something and yeah, so. So, so now he's set his sights
- 4:06on America. Well, not only that, but like
- 4:09NATO came out two days ago. No, it wasn't two days ago.
- 4:15It was on the 14th. NATO came out the general and he
- 4:19was letting people know. Right now, normal people, you
- 4:27should prepare flashlight radio. He said that you we need at
- 4:32least three months worth of food, you know water.
- 4:36Now is the time to start getting everything ready.
- 4:40Just off that bunker. Yep.
- 4:41You know, clean it up. Yep.
- 4:44And if you haven't yet, go to ltdtactical.com.
- 4:51I'm telling you, go ahead and get your gear.
- 4:54Get that bulletproof vest. I got a bulletproof vest.
- 4:56You know, I mean, I hate to be doom and gloom, but.
- 5:00You're a realist. That's where we're That's where
- 5:03we're going. With this right now, the border,
- 5:07he's talking about Texas and. Then, oh, he's talking about
- 5:10like, they don't even think the election's going to happen.
- 5:13They think that Russia is going to invade us like right before.
- 5:18This is what I think. I think that there will only be
- 5:21a war with Russia if Trump doesn't get elected.
- 5:27I think that I think that the it's going to happen.
- 5:32I don't I'm I'm just I'm just giving my predictions.
- 5:36I It's not facts, so. You're not predicting World War
- 5:393. No, I'm predicting World War
- 5:42Three, but I think if Trump gets into office there, it won't be a
- 5:46a World War Three. That's what.
- 5:51That's what I'm saying, I think. Well you know you know I'm I'm
- 5:56my humble opinion is that the stars are aligning.
- 6:00I mean, Biden in his, his tirade, not his tirades, but his
- 6:04antics and the things that he's doing, you know, he they're just
- 6:10making it easier for him to get back in office.
- 6:12You know, people are tired of of idiocy and the, and I mean, no
- 6:17offence to our president, but I'm just telling you what people
- 6:21are saying. They're they're tired of it.
- 6:22They're tired of these, you know, they're ready for a change
- 6:27already. I mean, they can't get this guy
- 6:29out fast enough, you know? And I know he's got a re
- 6:32election campaign, but good luck with that, dude.
- 6:34Save your money. I know.
- 6:38Well, I mean. Hardly even worked last time.
- 6:41Well, every everybody has dropped out of the race except
- 6:45that Nikki Haley and Trump. Like I said, I, you know, we're
- 6:51not real political, but I'm just telling everybody that's
- 6:54listening to this be vigilant, you know?
- 6:59You know, and I was telling my wife this the other day because
- 7:02we were talking about, like, if we ever had kids, if we'd ever
- 7:05let them go in the military. Guess what?
- 7:09You don't have to have your kids go in the military now because
- 7:12the fight's coming to us on the US soil.
- 7:15In fact, they just came out. I don't know if you knew this,
- 7:19and this is confirmed because we called.
- 7:21I called and made sure guess what the new qualifications for
- 7:26going into the Navy is now. They just changed it Tuesday.
- 7:31What? You don't have to have a GED or
- 7:34a diploma. You just have to score 50 or
- 7:36above on the asfab. So if that's not writing on the
- 7:39wall, I'm not sure what is. Yeah, and that's the Navy.
- 7:42I mean, that's always and the other one's going to follow
- 7:44suit. So that's always a key
- 7:46indicator. We need people.
- 7:48We need personnel. Well, you know, it's funny.
- 7:51It's funny because when I was going on when I was going on
- 7:54TikTok. You sure it wasn't the army?
- 7:58Ouch. No.
- 8:00So when I was going on TikTok, I saw this video of of Putin, you
- 8:05know, talking and stuff. And I I wrote, I wrote to a
- 8:10friend of mine. I'm like, dude, look at the
- 8:11comments, man. I looked at the Commons and wow,
- 8:16I mean, as a society, like we, we are scared.
- 8:20You know, they're talking about, oh, you know, Putin, you know,
- 8:25that's our government, we, we, we stand with you and blah,
- 8:27blah. And I'm like, are you, are you
- 8:29are you serious? You know, Putin's still a
- 8:32politician, just like Biden, just like Trump, just like
- 8:36Obama, just like all of them. And they're going to say
- 8:40whatever they need to say to get you on their side.
- 8:46Pretty much. Yeah, you know you have to look
- 8:49at their past and that's just it's just it's just amazing to
- 8:54me. It it really is amazing to me
- 8:57that where where we are where we are, you know it it really is
- 9:04and then I guess the the caucus or whatever that happened in New
- 9:09Hampshire I guess that was the light lowest attendance ever
- 9:13you. Mean the caucus.
- 9:15Yeah, it was like the lowest, lowest in numbers.
- 9:22And like I said, and if you didn't already know, the the
- 9:29stand with Texas, with the border, with the opening border,
- 9:34now there's 25 states standing with Texas.
- 9:37It's not just. Well, yeah, if you're letting
- 9:39lunatics like that, trying to get in.
- 9:40And who? Who wouldn't?
- 9:41Well, you. Know well, I mean getting.
- 9:43Behind, you know, closing our borders.
- 9:45On Biden, put out an effort to like, you know, to to sue Texas.
- 9:50Hey, you can't. You can't do that.
- 9:51And it's like, dudes, Seriously. Anyways, also, other news.
- 9:58Taylor Swift is doing a lawsuit against AI.
- 10:03If you haven't seen it, it's a nice little photo that's
- 10:07circulating through the Internet with it's Travis Kelsey and
- 10:13she's in like a hospital bed with a with a black baby, which
- 10:19I don't really understand the picture, but I mean, I've seen a
- 10:24bunch of them. They had one with.
- 10:28They had one with Holmes kissing a referee.
- 10:32They had one with the trade. What was it you mean?
- 10:39Mahomes. Yeah, Mahomes, they had one with
- 10:43him kissing the referee. They had one with him kissing
- 10:46Taylor Swift. I've always thought, I always
- 10:48thought Mahomes was a lot of light in the loafers, but that's
- 10:50just me. The way he runs off the field,
- 10:53like dude really kind of switching and walking.
- 10:57Right. Oh.
- 11:02So what else? Cave means cave means looking.
- 11:06Yeah, I want to. I want to find.
- 11:07That let's continue. All right.
- 11:09And then a big bombshell that happened yesterday, which is not
- 11:14really that. Surprising, do you?
- 11:15Think Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar.
- 11:18It's honestly. Not that surprising are are are
- 11:21getting sued for sex trafficking.
- 11:28Oh, sexual harassment. I thought, no, that's fixed
- 11:30trafficking. That's one charge.
- 11:32Yeah. So story is afterwards that
- 11:36Vince McMahon tried to traffic the woman to Brock Lesnar.
- 11:39Oh. My God, yeah.
- 11:41Yeah, what an idiot. And it was like when he was the
- 11:45when he was CEO. So it's like Brock Lesnar's
- 11:48prime too, pretty much. It's pretty crazy.
- 11:57With an interview on a podcast, It was Michael Paul or not?
- 12:06Is it Logan Paul? Yeah.
- 12:08Logan, Paul. Logan Paul with John Cena.
- 12:12And like if you, if you haven't, John Cena and The Rock was in
- 12:18the wrestling ring, OK? Look at the article below that.
- 12:22That one you just clicked on. That's it.
- 12:25Yeah, that one right there. Yeah, so there there was a
- 12:30episode on the Raw where John Cena basically called out the
- 12:34Rock because he had his promo stuff written on his wrist.
- 12:38You can. See it?
- 12:39Yeah, on the. Camera.
- 12:41So John Cena did something that I was kind of like I was over
- 12:48triggered and I'm like wow, you know that takes character.
- 12:51John Cena basically said that you know he was knew it was
- 12:58unprofessional for him to take a shot at him.
- 13:02It was great for the entertainment but because he was
- 13:05a a beginner in the industry and and they're.
- 13:10All acting. It's just like he.
- 13:11Pointed out something that. There we go.
- 13:19Well, you know, give. It a SEC to load.
- 13:21But it was amazing to to hear his, his character, you know,
- 13:29him telling everybody you know and then.
- 13:31That's just John Cena. He's like the.
- 13:33Paul and then and then Logan. Paul he, you know, he was like,
- 13:37well, you know that that's an amateur move.
- 13:39And John Cena's like, no, he was like he was kind of an amateur
- 13:42move on my. Part.
- 13:43So John Cena kind of has the, the reputation as, you know,
- 13:49squeaky clean, right? I mean.
- 13:50He's, yeah. He's the good guy.
- 13:53He did. You know, he's he's a family
- 13:55man. Positive role model, yeah.
- 13:57That's like his character is all positive.
- 14:00He's a pretty, he's a pretty good dude.
- 14:01Anyways, he's a good. Dude.
- 14:03And he makes some great movies and I love his.
- 14:06What What is that? What what E*Trade Is it the
- 14:08commercials he makes with the With the Purple Cow?
- 14:11Yeah, those are hilarious. Oh man.
- 14:16And like I said, if you want to join the conversation, hit us up
- 14:20720-619-0627. So there, there's nudity.
- 14:25There's nude ones as well. OK, so I guess it makes more.
- 14:29Sense. Yeah.
- 14:31I can see why she's so. Furious.
- 14:33I mean, you know, having the black baby, you know something
- 14:36that's not true would be madding or fear infuriating.
- 14:41But when you you know, you knew. When you get to the nudie
- 14:43cuties, that really stirs the path.
- 14:45Hey man, I remember when I saw the nude picture of Drew
- 14:48Barrymore. Man, I had that plastered all
- 14:50over my computer. I was in heaven.
- 14:52That was when I was stationed in Germany.
- 14:54So it it it, it all happens and. That was a real picture.
- 14:58Nuclear winter will only last 500 years.
- 15:01That's no sunlight for 500 years.
- 15:03Wow. So Gilbert Gilbert's giving us a
- 15:05prediction. OK.
- 15:07Radiation. Good morning, Gilbert The.
- 15:12Survivalists have enough supplies.
- 15:16I tell you what Gilbert's got guy.
- 15:18He he sends me reels and texts almost like, you know all
- 15:24through the week. And I I told him, I'm going
- 15:27we're going to have to have him on the show one time because he
- 15:29showed me a, he showed me a clip that he that he was talking.
- 15:34And I'm like, what is it? Is this recent?
- 15:36He's like Oh no no no This is it was a long time ago so we'll

- 23:35Not me. I love him.
- 23:38I think he's great. I think he's a real winner.
- 23:40Casey, if I were you, I wouldn't use protection.
- 23:41What? The all right.
- 23:46So today is what the segment this, this is going to, this is
- 23:51going to turn some heads. Ruffle some feathers.
- 23:55Yeah, play the video, turning to a story that's gained a lot of
- 23:59national attention. We're talking about the man who
- 24:02sued his date for texting during a movie.
- 24:05Brandon. Jones first spoke.
- 24:07With a man earlier this week. And tonight you got a chance to
- 24:10speak with a woman at the center of this lawsuit, see what she
- 24:13has to say. Yeah, I did.
- 24:14You know Mike and Queda, You know, this woman, Crystal Cruz,
- 24:16says that this situation has been blown out of proportion.
- 24:20She also told us tonight that it's not uncommon for her to
- 24:22text. Her friend during a date.
- 24:24Just to let her know that she's safe.
- 24:26She is looking forward to the day that she can put all of this
- 24:29behind her. The past 24 hours has been life
- 24:33changing for 35 year old Crystal Cruz.
- 24:36I've cried, I've laughed, I've been mad.
- 24:39Cruz is being sued for $17.31. Why?
- 24:44Well this man, 37 year old Brandon Vesmar, says she ruined
- 24:48their date and his movie going experience.
- 24:51This is insane. I just couldn't even believe it.
- 24:56Vesmar spoke to us Tuesday and now Cruz wants to share her side
- 24:59of the story. She says he exaggerated about
- 25:02how much she was texting during the movie.
- 25:05Cruz says she only sent 3 text messages to her friend and tried
- 25:09to be discreet by holding her phone close to her.
- 25:12That's when she says things escalated and Vesmar asked her
- 25:16to stop. I leaned back over to him and I
- 25:19said, well, I'm just going to go.
- 25:21But things didn't stop there. Cruz says Vesmar went to great
- 25:24lengths to find her on social media.
- 25:27He messaged everyone on my Facebook with the last name of
- 25:31Cruz. He messaged them to look for me.
- 25:34Then a lawsuit was filed. Let me move on with my.
- 25:37Life. I'll do whatever it takes.
- 25:39And Cruz did just that. I would love to give you your
- 25:42$17.31. The two met for the first time
- 25:46since the date Thursday on national television.
- 25:49Vesmar has agreed to drop the lawsuit and Cruz.
- 25:53Well, she says she learned to be more careful dating.
- 25:57So again tonight, Vesmar has agreed to drop that lawsuit.
- 26:00He also told me that he wants the country to move on to more
- 26:04important things. He says his work here.
- 26:06Is done. Guys, back to you.
- 26:09He did that on purpose. He did that to get on TV or
- 26:14something. Yeah, well, you know, most
- 26:17people, there's a lot of people that do that, man.
- 26:19I mean like they'll they'll. Yeah, I sued Joe last week, I
- 26:24mean. That's how that's how those.
- 26:26Court shows toilet paper and the shitter.
- 26:28That's how those court shows work, right?
- 26:30Like you can go on Judge Judy and you can just sue your
- 26:34friend. Just come up with a story that's
- 26:36good enough to put on TV. They'll do it.
- 26:38They. Said.
- 26:38We like it. There's a guy on.
- 26:39That shit's totally rigged. He's been on multiple episodes
- 26:43of multiple different court shows and he's just sued his
- 26:46friend and they split the money after the show.
- 26:48That's true. It's totally rigged.
- 26:50I'm thinking like I might as well just come up with
- 26:52something, be an HD, come up with something.
- 26:56So check this out. That shit's rigged.
- 26:57And this is how I know this rigged.
- 26:59So when I was in high school, it was this girl that I was dating,
- 27:04OK? And like, she was, she was she
- 27:07was pregnant. I didn't know who the father
- 27:09was, but I was dating her after she was pregnant.
- 27:14And me and her, you know, we were, you know, we were dating
- 27:20and and after the baby was made and then next thing I know she
- 27:24wasn't at school for couple weeks and I'm like, I don't
- 27:29wonder what's going on. Well, then kind of find out her
- 27:33stepfather got her pregnant and then yeah, Oh my God.
- 27:39And she he got her pregnant by doing like guitar lessons or
- 27:44whatever. It it it just happened, you
- 27:46know? And then the crazy part is that
- 27:51her and her mom came to me and she was like, we want you to go
- 27:57on the Maury Show with us. And I'm like, OK, you know?
- 28:02And I'm like 16. At the time, I didn't know what
- 28:04the hell this stuff was, you know?
- 28:06And I told my mom, I'm like, yeah, they want me to go on
- 28:08Maury Show. And my mom's like, no, you're
- 28:11not doing that, blah, blah, blah.
- 28:12And like, as soon as I said I, I I couldn't Like, she broke it
- 28:18off with me. And like you know they they they
- 28:21kind of went their separate ways and stuff that that stuff is so
- 28:25rigged man. It really is like they already
- 28:29know that it's not mine you know and they they they wanted me to
- 28:35go on there and do and the baby is try.
- 28:38To Jack it up. Yeah, you know why is?
- 28:40The family trying to make money because the daughters left with
- 28:43their stepdad. That is.
- 28:45So that's just gross. Probably.
- 28:47And the and the bad thing about it is like and I felt weird
- 28:50dating her because it was my best friend's sister.
- 28:54Well, not only that, but I mean, if you're dating a girl that's
- 28:56pregnant, that's a weird in and of itself.
- 28:58I mean, you'd be like I better, I better, you know, better not
- 29:03fully insert this. So I got, I got to ask you,
- 29:08caveman, because out of all of us, like this, this, this is
- 29:11you, this is your prime, this is your age.
- 29:16And oh, he's he's he's early. Yeah, but let me ask you,
- 29:23caveman, like what's what's the worst date that you've been on?
- 29:29Or have you not started dating yet?
- 29:31Honestly, nothing that I would sue over.
- 29:37Nothing I would sue over. I've never really had a date I
- 29:41would consider like bad. Honestly, it's usually like it's
- 29:46either. It's either bad because you just
- 29:47don't like connect with them. Really.
- 29:50Most people just can't get over the fact that they just not
- 29:53going to work out with everybody.
- 29:55Honestly, is that a suitor for $17.00?
- 29:59The suitor for dinner and the movie.
- 30:01That's crazy, man. I mean the.
- 30:03Filing had to be more than that. I mean, yeah, Yeah, he was.
- 30:06He He was being petty. He was.
- 30:08There's some to get on TV, yeah. There's some people out there
- 30:12that are just petty, you know? The final quote.
- 30:15My work here is done a lot. Of people that are.
- 30:17Petty. Yeah, there is.
- 30:18So many people. Yeah, A good rule of thumb, be
- 30:21with somebody, friends or whatever they or whatever for
- 30:25like a year before you even do any kind of commitment, 'cause,
- 30:29you know, everybody has two sides, everybody.
- 30:32You know, I tell you, I saw the, the, the evil side of when I,
- 30:42when I got divorced, I saw the evil side of my ex-wife, you
- 30:47know, thinking that it was going to all go all smooth and stuff.
- 30:50It did not go all smooth. And I'm like thinking to myself,
- 30:53OK, I'm going to be with, you know, the next person that I
- 30:57decided to marry. I want to make sure that I date
- 31:00them for a year and then I'm going to make sure that I live
- 31:03with them for a year. Really.
- 31:05That's a big one. You really want to live with
- 31:08them for a year because sometimes their their upbringing
- 31:14is not the same as yours. And what I mean by that?
- 31:18That's putting it mildly. Yeah.
- 31:19And what I mean by that is there's some families that eat
- 31:23TV dinners in front of the TV. OK, nothing wrong with it, OK?
- 31:28But then there's some families that are, you know, they they
- 31:34eat dinner as a family at the kitchen table.
- 31:39You know, a lot of families are like that.
- 31:43But, you know, and it's just different.
- 31:46When I was brought up, I don't know how you was brought up, but
- 31:50when I was brought up, we ate dinner at the table.
- 31:55We had a living room, that living room.
- 31:58Everybody came, sat in that living room from like 8:00 in
- 32:02the morning until, you know, at night, and then at night.
- 32:08Then you could go to your room and do whatever.
- 32:10But from that time to that time, you had to be in the living
- 32:15room. Really.
- 32:16Yeah. That that's that's how I was
- 32:17brought up. We had the traditional dinner at
- 32:20the at the at the kitchen table or dining table, whatever, but
- 32:25we didn't have that living room requirement.
- 32:27We had a rec room downstairs because we were a big family, so
- 32:31we were relegated to that rec room and that's where we spent
- 32:34most of our time was in the rec room, 'cause, you know, my mom
- 32:38didn't want all the chaos and noise upstairs.
- 32:40So we'd all go downstairs and hang out and watch TV, play
- 32:44whatever we were into, you know? But we spent most of our time
- 32:48outside, dude. I mean.
- 32:50Make sure you get to the mic. Yeah, when I was younger.
- 32:52It's pretty much just outside. Yeah, we just played most of it
- 32:55outside, You know, we didn't, we didn't spend a lot of time
- 32:59inside, so. Well, so one of the traditions
- 33:03that my family did, my my mom and dad and me did that.
- 33:07I still remember that I really enjoyed a lot.
- 33:10It was a long time ago. WWF used to be on Sundays and we
- 33:16used to go to Kmart and get one of those Subs.
- 33:20You know what I'm talking about? Those Kmart Subs, we used to get
- 33:24those, bring it home, eat and watch WWF wrestling.
- 33:28And like, that was the that was a big thing, you know, after
- 33:32church with, I mean, there's not a whole lot of people that I
- 33:38know that go to church nowadays. Yeah, there, there, there just
- 33:42hasn't. There's some, but there's.
- 33:44Just COVID kind of ruined it for me.
- 33:47Anymore it really did. Because they have the streaming
- 33:49now, and so now my lazy fat ass doesn't have to leave the house.
- 33:52I can just. I can just watch this.
- 33:54Oh, that's cool. You know, and and you know,
- 33:58'cause I do a lot of volunteer at my church, but I hardly ever
- 34:00attend church. I watch it at home, right?
- 34:04You know, Yeah. Well, Speaking of dating,
- 34:06though, my ex-girlfriend was Mormon, so her parents were like
- 34:09extremely strict on like, going to church every Sunday.
- 34:13Well. Hell yeah, She was Mormon.
- 34:14What they watched like everything.
- 34:17Like she had a little brother. So, like, everything was pretty
- 34:20much on, like, parental controls, yeah.
- 34:23Always had a weird dress. And she They let you.
- 34:26They let her date you. I know, right?
- 34:30That's crazy. It's pretty it's pretty crazy.
- 34:34Well, you know, you you you have that, you have that attitude,
- 34:39you know, that easy going attitude about yourself.
- 34:42You know you're you're a likable guy.
- 34:45That's what I'm trying to say at.
- 34:46Least I'm kind of chill. If I was a little bit more
- 34:48crazier, they definitely would not have let that happen just
- 34:52because she was already like that.
- 34:54So I was like the I was like the Yang and Yang there, like she
- 34:58was kind of the crazier one. And I was just like mellow.
- 35:01So it kind of helped. Do you now do you have, like, a
- 35:06most embarrassing dating story? Because I have one I'm going to
- 35:12share. But I want to know yours.
- 35:13And I want to know yours V 0. Shit.
- 35:19Caveman, do you have an embarrassing?
- 35:21Let me let me think of a good one, because I'm sure there's
- 35:24plenty. All right.
- 35:25Well, so. There's.
- 35:26Plenty. You started out there.
- 35:28OK, so so my first one of my first dates, and I'm still
- 35:33friends with her today and you know, I don't know if she gets
- 35:37mad at me for bringing this up all the time.
- 35:40So we went to the theater and it was when the first Addams Family
- 35:45came out that, you know, that movie, that Addams Family movie.
- 35:49So, you know, we're we're, we're here, you know?
- 35:52And I had already messed up because I was all like all
- 35:57anxious, all anxiety going, you know, I'm, I'm nervous, right.
- 36:02So I put my, you know, coke and all this stuff down and I didn't
- 36:07think about the seat coming up like that.
- 36:10And when I went to sit down, I forgot that I had laid my coke
- 36:15and stuff on the seat. So I like sat on it and it all
- 36:19came out. And if you've ever had like coke
- 36:23spilled on your legs or anything, like after a while, it
- 36:27kind of like burns. They kind of like, you know,
- 36:30seeps in when. You start getting sticky, right?
- 36:33Right, exactly. You know, and I'm, I'm, I'm
- 36:35trying to do this, you know, with napkins, not, you know, not
- 36:39embarrass myself anymore. And then that really changed
- 36:43because like after the previews, you know, went and we were
- 36:46watching, you know, a good 15 minutes into it, you know, I'm
- 36:50like, you know, do the whole, you know, thing, you know,
- 36:55putting the arm around her. And I looked at her and and I'm
- 36:59like, can I kiss you? And then she looked at me and
- 37:03she's like, I don't know. I have to ask my dad.
- 37:06And I'm like, what the hell? And it wasn't that time when you
- 37:10had cell phones when you could text, Hey, can he kiss me?
- 37:13Kind of thing. Every day I got to wait.
- 37:15Yeah, you got to wait, you know? And I'm like, so it was really
- 37:21embarrassing. It was.
- 37:23But you know, that was one thing that my dad did instill in me is
- 37:29the the, the basics of, you know, how to treat a woman, how
- 37:35not to treat a woman. And, you know, back then that
- 37:39was the thing to do. Today, not so much, yeah.
- 37:43Different There's a toss up. There.
- 37:44Yeah. OK, so now now I now I've told
- 37:48my embarrassing thing. Now you all need to tell your
- 37:50embarrassings. All right, I got one.
- 37:52So when I was in the Navy, I had this gal that was of Asian
- 37:57descent and we dated. She was, she was a little bit
- 38:01older than me. I think where she was, she was
- 38:02hot and and back then I was a dog dude.
- 38:06I was dating two and three girls at the same time.
- 38:08You know, I was just. You was a player.
- 38:10Yeah, just another you. Was a player.
- 38:11Just say it. You was a player.
- 38:13Just another nice. And so we dated for about 6
- 38:15months. You know, I was seeing other
- 38:16girls and I told I wasn't shy about, I told her, so I treated
- 38:20her like crap. Well, one day I went over her
- 38:23house and I brought a friend of mine and he was a, a gentleman,
- 38:29Southern gentleman, you know, he was O'Brien, the 4th, so very
- 38:33proud tradition, very proud, you know, heritage.
- 38:37And he had that, you know, Southern accent and all that and
- 38:40well and being announced to me, she just was enamored.
- 38:46She just thought he was just, you know, 'cause he was treating
- 38:48her like a lady. And here I am to her like shit.
- 38:50And you know, being just a Southern gentleman, she was just
- 38:53enamored. And I and again, I didn't pick
- 38:55up on it. Well, we we, we broke up and I
- 38:59don't know, 2-3 months later I was, I was, you know, horny and
- 39:04I couldn't couldn't get no one, you know, on the line.
- 39:06So like you said back for cell phones.
- 39:09So I called her up and I said, hey, what are you doing?
- 39:11And So what if I'd come over and she's like right now I'm like,
- 39:16yeah, right now she's like, well, I have company and that's
- 39:18OK. I'm on my way thinking I was
- 39:21all, you know, Billy Badass going to rock her world again.
- 39:25So I get there and she answers the door and she says, you know,
- 39:29this really isn't a good time, but yeah, you go ahead and come
- 39:31on in. And I said, OK, So I came in and
- 39:35I sat down on the couch and tried to get a little, you know,
- 39:38cozy with her. And she's like, no, I have
- 39:40company and and I'm like, oh, come on.
- 39:44Well, he was in the other room and being announced to me.
- 39:46So I was like, he comes out and I just, my jaw dropped.
- 39:49I'm like, what the fuck? That was her new boyfriend.
- 39:52So Needless to say, I was totally embarrassed.
- 39:54And he didn't tell me. He didn't say a damn thing to
- 39:57me. Like, you know, hey, dude, just
- 39:59so you know, it's not like we were like really tight, but I
- 40:01mean, tight enough for him to fucking tell me that he was
- 40:04dating. Watch your watch the F bombs
- 40:06we're we're we're on the we're on the the the real NBR page.
- 40:12No, we're on the NBR page today. Prick.
- 40:17Yeah, that's what I said. It's my accent like.
- 40:20Doing the Audrey, yeah. But I apologize.
- 40:25But yeah, I was tied enough to know that he should have told
- 40:30me. But yeah, that was pretty
- 40:31embarrassing. Needed to say, so I I made a HD
- 40:33exit. Wow.
- 40:35OK, now your turn, Caveman. So we are just going out to
- 40:41lunch and like on the way back I have something like ordered for
- 40:46and it was on my it was open on the phone because I was waiting.
- 40:50I was waiting to show her and she is like grabbing my phone to
- 40:54switch the music. So I knew like once it got
- 40:57unlocked she was about to see like this present that I was
- 41:00going to get her and like ruin the whole surprise.
- 41:02So I'm trying to like, reach over and grab the phone while
- 41:04I'm driving and I look back over and we're like halfway into the
- 41:08other lane at this point. So I, like, swerved back all
- 41:12crazy, and then we're both just like quiet driving for the rest
- 41:15of the way home, back to her house.
- 41:18She's like, I'm never getting in the car with that guy again.
- 41:20Well, you know, she probably thought I was.
- 41:21Cheating on her like trying to hide my bones and I was like,
- 41:25God Dang it, this looks so bad now this looks shady.
- 41:29Well, you know, when I was talking to Caveman, What, what?
- 41:32What is it? Next week is your birthday.
- 41:34Yeah, I turned 21 on February 8th.
- 41:36So two weeks. Right on.
- 41:38I'm going to buy him a big thing of Jack Daniels, I think.
- 41:42You think? I think, I think.
- 41:47Do you have like a specific preference or or have you been a
- 41:52good boy and haven't haven't done anything yet?
- 41:54I don't really like to drink that often.
- 41:57He doesn't, OK? He doesn't imbibe that often.
- 41:59OK. I'd say I'd say if you were
- 42:01going to give me Jack Daniels, though, that would be all right.
- 42:03OK. Or, you know, some kind of, you
- 42:06know, flowery substance, you know?
- 42:09That too. That's an option.
- 42:12All right. Well, ladies and gentlemen,
- 42:13that's the. Do you guys want to go to the
- 42:16next segment or did you guys want to go on a break to the
- 42:19next segment? What do you want you guys want
- 42:21to do? Yeah.
- 42:21Let's do another quick break. OK, all right, we're going to go
- 42:24on another quick break, and when we come back, we're going to
- 42:28talk about a woman that got nine months probation for killing
- 42:33your boyfriend. Details next.
- 42:39And now for the most famous words in Motorsports, driving
- 46:32Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
- 46:34Welcome to that experience. I don't know if it's still
- 46:37snowing out, but I'm excited about, you know, heading up the
- 46:40hill and dealing with all that traffic.
- 46:44But anyway, we got a. Special traffic saves people
- 46:47from crashing in this weather, honestly, So it kind of helps
- 46:50because people. It's not any less madding,
- 46:55though. And, and and you know, I always
- 46:57like to say we're I'm surrounded by idiots.
- 46:59No offense, fellas. I'm just the only difference
- 47:01between me and them is I'm an educated idiot.
- 47:03You know, I'm not the only educated idiot, but I'm.
- 47:06I'm one of them. But yeah, dude, this it.
- 47:08You got it. You know the bonehead factor is
- 47:10very high in in bad weather. But you know, the devil's plant,
- 47:14being devil's advocate, it's almost like everybody feels like
- 47:18that, Like everybody feels that they're the best driver in the
- 47:22world and they sit there and they judge other drivers.
- 47:26Well, just everybody. Does like males.
- 47:28Males think they all males pretty much think they're race
- 47:31cars drivers. Yeah, And so then when I get
- 47:34involved. With Ranger Rd.
- 47:36I got schooled quick dude, you're like, dude, I suck.
- 47:41This is I am not a race gear driver.
- 47:43I have to learn how to be a race gear driver.
- 47:45Well, you know, I I talked to my wife about that because like she
- 47:50will, she will not let me drive whatsoever at all.
- 47:54So like when we go any trips or anything, let's say is that 18
- 47:59hours or 19 hour drive? Yeah, she drives the whole way.
- 48:02She won't, dude. She's like a control freak when
- 48:05it comes to the driving, you know.
- 48:06And I'm like when when I drive, you know, around town, I mean,
- 48:14I'm just so glad that I got married because I have a buddy
- 48:18that constantly says it's green. Thank you, honey.
- 48:22I I could not drive without you or you know, hitting the the
- 48:29floorboard with her, with her foot, you know?
- 48:31When I when I drive with my mom or anyone in my family, they're
- 48:35always doing that. Or then.
- 48:37Or the the best part was my dad. I could have killed my dad
- 48:42because it was twice the car wasn't even close.
- 48:46He's in the passenger say, So what does he do when he sees
- 48:49this car merging in? My dad's like, shit and I'm
- 48:54like, what dad? Seriously.
- 48:58Well, you know, you didn't. You definitely don't drive with
- 49:00me, 'cause I I have a small sports car and I can maneuver
- 49:04the shit of that thing. I'm an aggressive driver.
- 49:06I'll say it, I'm an aggressive driver.
- 49:07I don't think everybody is an aggressive driver here in
- 49:10Colorado. The ladies, the ladies and
- 49:12gentlemen that we are going to or next segment and then that
- 49:17will take us to the interview of the week, our next segment hit
- 49:21that beautiful bean footage. Well, don't worry.
- 49:26Don't worry, I'm. Not.
- 49:30Going to do what you all think I'm going to do.
- 49:46All right, and I made sure to put her picture on there.
- 49:49And now this woman, We're going to bring up this this video.
- 49:53Go ahead and play it. The woman right there convicted
- 49:55of stabbing her boyfriend to death only gets a slap on the
- 49:59wrist. She faced the possibility of
- 50:01life in prison for stabbing him 108 times.
- 50:05But the judge ruling that she had no self-control while in a
- 50:08cannabis induced psychosis. Todd Pyro is live in the.
- 50:12Studio with the shocking. Details Todd This is a head
- 50:15scratcher, Ainsley The judge is sentencing 32 year old Brynn
- 50:19Speicher to 100 hours of community service, two years
- 50:22probation and the big one. No jail time.
- 50:25She broke down in tears after a jury convicted her of
- 50:28involuntary manslaughter last month.
- 50:30California judge claims she had no control over her actions
- 50:34after stabbing the victim at Chad o'mela 108 times.
- 50:38Psychiatrist in the case claimed the incident was quote 100%
- 50:42caused by cannabis induced psychosis.
- 50:45After the 32 year old took two hits from the victim's bong, she
- 50:48expressed remorse during closing statements saying quote I wish I
- 50:51had known more about the dangers of marijuana.
- 50:54Had I known, I would never have smoked it that night or at all.
- 50:59Well, Malia's family shocked and angry over the sentencing
- 51:01yesterday. The victim's father accusing the
- 51:03judge of being biased, saying, quote, he just gave everyone in
- 51:07the state of California who smokes marijuana a license to
- 51:10kill someone. The woman and the victim were
- 51:13dating for only a few weeks before his death in 2018.
- 51:16Police arrived on scene to find speech or in a pool of blood
- 51:19near the victim's body. She also attempted to stab
- 51:21herself in the neck before being taken away.
- 51:29That's the one reason. Oh, there we go.
- 51:32And I guarantee you that's the one reason why she she got off
- 51:37was because she tried. Yeah.
- 51:40Yeah. Marijuana induced psychosis?
- 51:42Oh, come on, that is. The chill bong hits OK, I don't
- 51:45care if it's your first time, 2 bong hits is going to you're
- 51:47going to be fine. High school, You might throw up.
- 51:49Yeah, you might get a little. Sick, you know see a cannabis?
- 51:54What are they cannabis induce? Psychosis.
- 51:57How you going to go into psychosis over weed?
- 52:00That's crazy. So this this is setting a
- 52:02precedent. Actually, yeah, it is, you know,
- 52:04I mean, this is going to. Be the the the weed defense.
- 52:06It's going to become the weed defense.
- 52:08And whenever you go into like a courtroom or anything like
- 52:12lawyers use these cases to get their.
- 52:19Well that's why it's called precedent because now this is
- 52:21open the door for other attorneys to use the same
- 52:24defense. OK well you know citing this
- 52:27case and saying you know in this case this is the reasoning
- 52:29behind the judge's decision. Therefore you know we we, we
- 52:34strongly recommend that you you you take these use into
- 52:36consideration judge your honor. So it's crazy dude.
- 52:39This is going to open up a can of worms.
- 52:43Yeah, well, and it's just like that that whole Gabby thing when
- 52:46when she died, like even though that Brian killed himself, I
- 52:52mean there there, there's a lawsuit going with against the
- 52:57the that Brian's parents because they helped, they helped his son
- 53:04get away with. It dude.
- 53:05But the the the police. I mean they he was at home for
- 53:07two weeks after the she was their remains was found.
- 53:11He was the last one to be seen with her.
- 53:12How come he wasn't in at least, you know, question or or or or.
- 53:17He might have been questioned, but he should have been rested.
- 53:19He should have been rested. Say, hey, you know, we have
- 53:21enough evidence to arrest you. We're going to arrest you and
- 53:23hold you until we figure out what's going on.
- 53:25I mean, he had two weeks to prepare, pack his stuff, parents
- 53:29helping him, and he took off. That's usually what they do.
- 53:32They usually arrest you until they get it figured out.
- 53:34Exactly. That's how it happens.
- 53:36Most cases like that's like the first 48 hours that I have.
- 53:41You know, until we figure this out, we're going to, you know,
- 53:43we have enough to arrest him. Let's arrest him, get him in,
- 53:44get him incarcerated. I mean, get him held, Held, you
- 53:47know? Put him in a hole.
- 53:49Then they actually figure stuff out.
- 53:51If they have all the witnesses, all the people that it could
- 53:53possibly be. If they just sit around and
- 53:56wait, then it turns into this marijuana induced psychosis bull
- 54:01crap with. That you know, not to mention
- 54:03108 times. She's right.
- 54:06How do you explain that? OK, I could see her getting
- 54:10angry and she's stabbing a couple times, but at 100 that's
- 54:14that is, that's rage. That's something, you know,
- 54:18that's an emotional level of rage that you know and you're
- 54:23very, very angry and you're very hurt, whatever, you know,
- 54:26emotions you're feeling. But that many stab wounds, I
- 54:30don't see how they could. Even.
- 54:32Yeah, that's. Crazy.
- 54:33I don't know how she's going to get carpal tunnel, you know,
- 54:36Good point, I mean. All right, Mikey's out.
- 54:41Yeah we'll we'll we'll we'll grab him at the top of the hour
- 54:45instead of going on break. But yeah you know it's it's
- 54:50ridiculous. I mean, but you know the the one
- 54:54question that I have is it didn't, it didn't say in the
- 54:59report like what strain that marijuana is though I mean could
- 55:04could marijuana be. And she's claiming this is her
- 55:08first time? Yes.
- 55:10Yeah. That's so.
- 55:11That's even more stupid. I know she's claiming this is
- 55:14her first time ever smoking weed and that she took two bong heads
- 55:18and she just went freaking nuts. I I.
- 55:22That's whatever he's got. Must have not been fully
- 55:25marijuana, 'cause there's no way.
- 55:28I don't know. You think something.
- 55:29Was in it. They're possibly 'cause I don't.
- 55:33Well, I mean, you know, looking at her picture like the mug shot
- 55:36or whatever, she doesn't look like she was.
- 55:40She looks like she's a couple sandwiches short of picnic
- 55:42basket anyways, to be honest with you.
- 55:45I didn't see the mug shot. Yeah, you know, she just, she
- 55:49just looked kind of out of it. I mean like.
- 55:52Groggy. Yeah, you know, like I said, I I
- 55:56don't. I know Marilyn.
- 55:59It has a. Different eye a little bit.
- 56:02Yeah, but could, Could it have been laced with a little bit of
- 56:05fentanyl? Could.
- 56:06Fentanyl do. That's what we're thinking we're
- 56:07thinking about. It was something in.
- 56:09Something that would make you actually pretty aggressive like
- 56:13that. Aggressive and paranoid, yeah.
- 56:17'Cause I mean, see the paranoia. Yeah, it's like.
- 56:19Paranoia. I used to smoke with my wife
- 56:21back in the day, and she used to get so paranoid, dude, she
- 56:24wouldn't even leave the house. It was just so, Oh my God, we're
- 56:26going to give us. Hey, you know this is before
- 56:29legalization. Yeah, mind you, so.
- 56:32And I think edibles are totally the the edibles affect you
- 56:35totally different than smoking. I really believe that.
- 56:39It is a different feeling. It is.
- 56:43So, All right, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to go to
- 56:47the interview of the week. Now we're going to bring up NFC
- 56:52the up. So stay with us.
- 57:05All right, ladies and gentlemen, we have Mike.
- 57:10Mike Gabbianelli, welcome to the show.
- 57:13Mike and I go way back. We were high school buddies.
- 57:16Oh, wow. Just joking.
- 57:18He he's like half my age. But but we better.
- 57:22We've known yourself for a long time.
- 57:24Great. Mike's a great guy.
- 57:25So Mike, you didn't join him in the Vietnam.
- 57:29I'm teasing. I'm teasing.
- 57:34You guys. Are you guys are go ahead?
- 57:40Oh, I'll say you guys are giving me a hard time.
- 57:42I'm just getting here. I know, right, right.
- 57:46So, yeah, Mike, tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 57:48Tell us how you got involved with NSED and and you know, a
- 57:52little background information if you would.
- 57:54Yeah, sure. So I'm a program manager with
- 57:58the National Sports Center for the Disabled.
- 58:00I've been working with them now for oh, this is my 8th season
- 58:04going on this year, so I've been working with them for a pretty
- 58:08long time, Started as an instructor and just kind of been
- 58:12moving my way up through the ranks ever since.
- 58:16Yeah, I'm an outdoor recreation professional, AMGA single pitch
- 58:20instructor, Really enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking,
- 58:23rafting, skiing, ice climbing, you name it.
- 58:26I'm kind of just would love to be out there doing it and have
- 58:30been in the fields guiding and offering outdoor recreation
- 58:34experiences now for 15 plus years from Yosemite, Michigan,
- 58:41Yosemite to things in Colorado, Utah as well.
- 58:45So yeah and then I actually grew up with with my mother has a
- 58:51visual impairment and is also is also deaf.
- 58:54So she has struggled with disability through her entire
- 58:59life. And I've always been so
- 59:01passionate about bringing these outdoor recreation experiences
- 59:06to the public and kind of making them more inclusive and kind of
- 59:11just fell into the world of adaptive outdoor recreation.
- 59:15Honestly, it was just kind of like kismet, really.
- 59:18So yeah. And soon as I started doing
- 59:21adaptive recreation, just kind of stuck with it.
- 59:25Yeah, and with your mom's, I like to call them challenges.
- 59:31Your mom's challenges. It was near and dear to you,
- 59:34your heart, so something that you were passionate about like
- 59:36you said. Honestly, I I didn't like
- 59:41consciously know that when I first started doing it, it was
- 59:44just like I was drawn to this field and I was like, wow, this
- 59:48is amazing. And honestly, through working
- 59:52with this field, it made me realize that my mom had been
- 59:56having so many challenges throughout my life that I never
- 59:59even understood until, like, I. I joined the adaptive recreation
- 1:00:04field and I realized like, oh, This is why I love this is, this
- 1:00:10is, this is these people are just like my mom, you know, And
- 1:00:13they are just, they're overcoming so many challenges
- 1:00:17and they're told no in so many different ways.
- 1:00:20And like, I want to be a part of the team that can say yes and
- 1:00:24can make this happen. Yes, yes.
- 1:00:29It is an exhilarating feeling when you hear those words and
- 1:00:32you know your mom must be quite proud, you know, in this kind of
- 1:00:37stuff and that you're doing these kind of things.
- 1:00:42Yeah, I, you know, I think again this world like through my
- 1:00:49involvement with this this field, like she learned as well
- 1:00:53like to like seek out those services to like embrace the
- 1:00:58challenges that she has and not deny them and like understand
- 1:01:02that they're there and learn the ways to live with them, you know
- 1:01:07and and not and really live and not just survive honestly.
- 1:01:12And I think like since I've started working with the NSCD
- 1:01:16I've been able to kind of share that with my mom and I've taken
- 1:01:20her climbing. She's done all the things
- 1:01:23reluctantly, as she might have, and through everything that
- 1:01:27she's done, it's like she just wants to do more and wants to
- 1:01:32learn more and wants to be more empowered to do things.
- 1:01:37And so it is pretty, it's pretty amazing.
- 1:01:40Like, just like both of us and how we can help each other, you
- 1:01:44know, grow. Yeah man, that is powerful stuff
- 1:01:51right there. It's very powerful.
- 1:01:52Now, Mike, I know that you're on the rec side.
- 1:01:55Have you contributed or been a part of the competition, part of
- 1:02:01NFCD or have you had that? Have you had that encounter yet?
- 1:02:08So we did have a competition athlete, younger athlete working
- 1:02:14in Denver through our climbing program for for about three or
- 1:02:19four months. Before they were kind, they kind
- 1:02:22of got burnt out. But currently, no, not with the
- 1:02:26our ski team up in winter. Park OK, OK.
- 1:02:32I used to be a part of the NSC DS Ski team long, long time ago
- 1:02:38when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
- 1:02:41Yeah, with. You're not that old.
- 1:02:46So you know the the the the person from NSCD and I know a
- 1:02:52little bit of history the the guy that kind of started it kind
- 1:02:55of engaged. It was how he he unfortunately
- 1:03:02passed away not too long ago and but from the from the time that
- 1:03:08he started to now, NSCD has really, really got it.
- 1:03:13Like the the first Mono Ski was actually a bathtub.
- 1:03:16And you know, he he made a lot of, he made a lot of eventive
- 1:03:24tools and adaptations and stuff like that.
- 1:03:27What's the most interesting adaptation that you have
- 1:03:34encountered since since you've started working with NSCV?
- 1:03:38Oh, great question. Honestly I'm I'm like we're
- 1:03:45finding new adaptations every day and one of the things
- 1:03:49recently that's been probably the coolest thing is our new
- 1:03:52adaptive mountain bikes. So these are adaptive mountain
- 1:03:56trikes I guess we would say SO3 wheeled designs.
- 1:04:01They are hand powered cycles and these things are honestly like
- 1:04:07you can if you learn that the how to how to ride one of these
- 1:04:11things like it can really unlock like terrain for for individuals
- 1:04:17that like they never would have been able to get to
- 1:04:20independently before. So yeah, we're just kind of
- 1:04:23getting to learn those things a little bit more and it's it's a
- 1:04:27pretty amazing piece of machinery, honestly.
- 1:04:32Yeah and this is exciting times because this you're you're
- 1:04:35completely expanding your your MTV program, your mountain
- 1:04:40biking and your snow and your fat biking.
- 1:04:42Which is exciting for me because you know Mike and I have done
- 1:04:45some riding together. We both love it, both passionate
- 1:04:47and he's he's actually invited me along to help him assist or
- 1:04:53assist him with this program. And so he's got, I mean a just a
- 1:04:58litany of dates that for the for the next, for this year for the
- 1:05:03next several months it's and it's just really exciting
- 1:05:06because it's hard to find you know for me personally it's hard
- 1:05:10to find a program that has an extensive program like that.
- 1:05:15You know they'll have mountain biking as a component to a camp
- 1:05:18or a component to a an excursion.
- 1:05:21But this is the first time in my experience that it's dedicated
- 1:05:24to those things and I love it. I love the fact that Mike has
- 1:05:29kind of spearheaded this thing and and jumped in with both feet
- 1:05:33and and I'm just looking forward to our our endeavors and I
- 1:05:37understand you just went on a ride on the 23rd.
- 1:05:39Did that happen, Mike? Unfortunately we didn't have the
- 1:05:43the word, didn't get out fast enough.
- 1:05:45We didn't have the sign ups for the 23rd, but our next ride is
- 1:05:49next Tuesday. On the 30th we are hosting a Fat
- 1:05:54Tire ride. It's going.
- 1:05:55To be open we. Got, Yeah.
- 1:05:56We got transportation to and from Jeffco Fairgrounds is where
- 1:06:02we'll be kind of departing from for that ride.
- 1:06:06We got equipment for folks. We'll be providing instructors
- 1:06:10and expertise. It's 100% free for veterans or
- 1:06:13active duty military. So like just like kind of a
- 1:06:18sentence was saying like it's a really awesome opportunity.
- 1:06:20If you're interested in exploring something new or you
- 1:06:25know learning more about this, a sport that you already love,
- 1:06:29like it really is a great opportunity.
- 1:06:31We have some really awesome new fat tire bikes that we'll be
- 1:06:34riding again if you're a mountain biker down here in the
- 1:06:38Front Range but never had the chance or the extra $2000 to buy
- 1:06:43a fat tire bike just for the wind and snows, you know?
- 1:06:45Want to come out and try one of those?
- 1:06:47See if it's something you'd like.
- 1:06:49Awesome opportunity to do that. So yeah, I'll definitely be
- 1:06:54sharing some information on how to get registered with.
- 1:06:57That now you brought up a good point and that's one of the
- 1:07:06questions I was getting ready to ask.
- 1:07:08You know, here I am, I'm disabled either either I'm
- 1:07:13skiing or snowboarding. How much does it cost for you to
- 1:07:19get, you know, like a buddy pass or a lift ticket lessons?
- 1:07:26How much is that going for right now?
- 1:07:28Equipment and all that. Yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 1:07:31You guys have deals. We do have deals for veterans
- 1:07:35for our our Alpine program. Let me pull up the I don't want
- 1:07:41to give you guys bad information.
- 1:07:43Again, I'm based primarily. Out of the Denver office.
- 1:07:45Your first. Your first.
- 1:07:48Your first lesson is free. I know that.
- 1:07:50First lesson is free for veterans.
- 1:07:52Your first lesson is free and then awesome after It's 50% off
- 1:07:58I believe. I believe so.
- 1:08:00That was, that was what I believe.
- 1:08:02And yeah, and that comes with the lift ticket, with the rental
- 1:08:07of the equipment, with the instructor and their expertise
- 1:08:10as well. So you're right, I was just on
- 1:08:13the website there. And yeah, you get the first
- 1:08:15lesson free. And again, it's a great way to
- 1:08:19just explore something new. Or if you're already a skier
- 1:08:23snowboarder you want to, like, take it to the next level, you
- 1:08:26know? Lessons are a great way to do
- 1:08:28that for sure. Yeah, I'm going to try to get.
- 1:08:34I'm going to try to get V here to to ski or or something other
- 1:08:38than the bike. Nope.
- 1:08:41Not going to happen. Nope.
- 1:08:43Once you see me ride my bike I want to I want both of you.
- 1:08:47You will not. You will say OK, that's what he
- 1:08:50was made for. Because dude, I I'm why do you
- 1:08:55think I need a new ski bike? I would like.
- 1:08:56That's great. That's OK, but you?
- 1:09:00Know. If you guys are interested in
- 1:09:04ski biking, Vicente, we got that.
- 1:09:07We got ski bikes up there. So if you want to go on a ski
- 1:09:09bike lesson, we do those. So that doesn't have to be
- 1:09:12snowboard or ski or mono ski. We do ski bikes, we got snow
- 1:09:15goes. We really do have quite good
- 1:09:20access to quite a bit of different adaptive equipment for
- 1:09:23on snow for sure. I put it in perspective, not to
- 1:09:28toot my own horn, but when I go on a on a camp, when I do a
- 1:09:31camp, would it be NSCD or Steamboat or whatever?
- 1:09:35Every time I go up there and I get my instructor, they're
- 1:09:38stoked. Why are they stoked?
- 1:09:40Because this is going to be a fun week this.
- 1:09:42There's no instruction involved. They're just going to go out and
- 1:09:45ride hard and have a great time. Things they don't get to do very
- 1:09:47often normally. It's, I mean it's it's hard
- 1:09:51work. So they're out there teaching
- 1:09:54how to do this, teaching how to do that.
- 1:09:56And it's a lot of work and it's sometimes it's still going very
- 1:10:00challenging. When they go with me, dude,
- 1:10:02we're like buddies going out, right?
- 1:10:04So they're like, this is awesome trees.
- 1:10:06I mean, I do double blacks. I do everything on that bike.
- 1:10:09So yeah, you can do anything on a bike bike.
- 1:10:12It's pretty much easy. Come on now.
- 1:10:15All right. Well, that's still a level of
- 1:10:16balance on a. It's a whole level good as far
- 1:10:19as I'm concerned, but I love that you say that because I'm
- 1:10:21getting a new one in a couple of months.
- 1:10:23Yeah. And so I'll have one for you
- 1:10:25available to use and I want you to show me.
- 1:10:28Your. Proficiency.
- 1:10:30Oh yeah, I can totally show it. Look when I when I skate.
- 1:10:33Them out there. Yeah, Mikey too.
- 1:10:36I totally call petition. I want.
- 1:10:38I want him to ride my, you know, go.
- 1:10:39Snow, I bet you I bet you. Ski like me under the table any
- 1:10:42day. French skier And there were
- 1:10:44people but like the French skier.
- 1:10:50You know what a French skier is, right?
- 1:10:52Mike, a French skier is 1 ski and you ride it.
- 1:10:58Yeah, you you ride it like you ride like a snowboard, but it's
- 1:11:04a it's a thin ski, yeah. All right.
- 1:11:07It's like a it's like a water ski, mono ski.
- 1:11:12Yeah, exactly. And then another, another
- 1:11:15interesting category with skiing is teleskiing.
- 1:11:19Teleskiing is very hard. I don't know if yeah.
- 1:11:23And some guys, I've seen some guys just be phenomenal going
- 1:11:26through bumps, going, I mean just crazy and I'm like, wow,
- 1:11:29how's he doing that? So, yeah, there's some really
- 1:11:31good skilled telemarkers that out there that that tear it up,
- 1:11:35you know? And I was.
- 1:11:36Fascinating, because you know it it it fits to the tip of your
- 1:11:39foot, you know, so it seems like it would come out easily.
- 1:11:43But it it stays, you know, it stays in there.
- 1:11:45What was you saying, Mike? I got AI got a telemark joke for
- 1:11:49you guys. How do you know there's a
- 1:11:51telemark at the party? They're going to tell you.
- 1:11:57No, no clue. I got to tell.
- 1:12:02You I got to tell you. Well I tell you what I have a
- 1:12:04joke that I, I that I told a a good friend of mine he's a
- 1:12:11snowboarder and you know how snowboarders and skiers are just
- 1:12:14you know the greatest friends And when I was gosh, I I can't
- 1:12:19remember his name we we was in the games and I I thought it
- 1:12:23would be funny but yeah he looked at me he's like ha ha not
- 1:12:27funny. But I told him I'm like you know
- 1:12:29what the snowboarder got on his SAT score.
- 1:12:32Right. And he's like what?
- 1:12:34I'm like drool. He's like ha ha ha, not funny.
- 1:12:38Yeah. So.
- 1:12:40Yeah and Mike just did a little background.
- 1:12:42You know, H Train over here is an ex Paralympian.
- 1:12:45So he's got a bit of a swagger in his stride and but and he
- 1:12:50hasn't been on the mountain probably how many years?
- 1:12:52Well, you know, I was on the mountain last year.
- 1:12:55I, I, I, I did a little bit of skiing, you know.
- 1:12:58Good to know. So we're going, we're going next
- 1:13:00weekend to Breckenridge. I was trying to explain to his.
- 1:13:02Medal. I was trying to explain to him
- 1:13:05like that. You know when when you're a
- 1:13:07competitor's race skier, that and you've done so much skiing,
- 1:13:13you don't do as much wreck skiing after you retire compared
- 1:13:18to when you know during the time that you're skiing.
- 1:13:21And he he didn't understand that, he didn't understand the
- 1:13:26like, I don't know. I did.
- 1:13:27OK. All right.
- 1:13:28I didn't. Well, what I didn't understand
- 1:13:30is the amount of days on the mountain that you're doing.
- 1:13:33I had no idea that we were doing 320.
- 1:13:35Days a year. You know, that's a phenomenal
- 1:13:38crazy. Of course you're going to be
- 1:13:40burned out. Yeah, I I think I got like like
- 1:13:42two months vacation, which was like I think it was like June or
- 1:13:48July and then then we had to get back to it and stuff.
- 1:13:51So that's the that's the thing about the whole Paralympics was
- 1:13:56the the travelling. I did not like the so much
- 1:13:59travelling. I did not like the travelling,
- 1:14:01yeah. So the ski race in the world is
- 1:14:06tough. Yeah, Mike.
- 1:14:11Do you guys have like criteria on, you know, the veterans that
- 1:14:15come and utilize your does? It have to be honourable
- 1:14:19discharge, they have to have a disability rating, all those
- 1:14:22things. Yeah, actually you know criteria
- 1:14:27are veterans or active duty military with with a disability
- 1:14:33rating and there is not like a level of rating for.
- 1:14:36That. OK.
- 1:14:42Now when I when I back a long time ago, they had a nice little
- 1:14:49pass deal if you was a disabled veteran.
- 1:14:53I, I, I don't even think you had to be a veteran.
- 1:14:56You just had to be disabled. It was $100 and the $100 ski
- 1:15:01pass got you in the Winter Park in Copper.
- 1:15:07Has that changed? Yeah, we no longer offer that
- 1:15:11ski pass to my knowledge or really any.
- 1:15:16The pass passes that you would get would be with a lesson with
- 1:15:20the NSCD OK From my understanding unless that was a
- 1:15:28program well. We're coming on that moment
- 1:15:32where we go ahead. I didn't mean to interrupt.
- 1:15:40We have a delay. That's the reason why.
- 1:15:44Yeah, I was going to say I think we have a delay.
- 1:15:46I was just saying I'm unfamiliar with that historic pass program.
- 1:15:51I'm not sure if that was through us or with just Winter Park
- 1:15:55Direct. So that would be something, you
- 1:15:57know, further research might be needed to kind of clarify on
- 1:16:00that too. All right, all right.
- 1:16:08Awesome. Well, we we're coming up to
- 1:16:12that. There are time to shot unless
- 1:16:16you have another question to ask him or yeah.
- 1:16:18I have a few more questions. So Mike, you were talking about
- 1:16:20the mountain biking and the fat biking.
- 1:16:23Tell us like, I mean I've been on many retreats with you.
- 1:16:25So tell us about some of the past retreats or future
- 1:16:27retreats. That one last year in Salida was
- 1:16:29awesome. We had a really good time.
- 1:16:32You had a good mix of things in there.
- 1:16:33Mountain biking, you had rock climbing, we had, you know,
- 1:16:39games, outdoor games, we had debauchery, we had a little bit
- 1:16:43of everything. And so tell us more about some
- 1:16:46of the other programs you're involved in.
- 1:16:48Yeah. So, you know, outside of the
- 1:16:51mountain bike program down here in Denver this year, what we'll
- 1:16:54be offering is what we call our military appreciation days.
- 1:16:59And that's every Friday or most Fridays from 12:50 or 9:00 to
- 1:17:05noon depending on the event. Currently, I'm actually at one
- 1:17:08of those events here at Movement Climbing Gym in Inglewood and
- 1:17:12we'll be doing some indoor climbing for veterans here at
- 1:17:17the gym. We also do air rifle archery,
- 1:17:22white water paddling, flat water paddling, and we kind of just
- 1:17:26rotate through those different sports throughout the summer.
- 1:17:30And so that's one experience that we have going on that's
- 1:17:33again continuous throughout the year.
- 1:17:37So just kind of hop online to our our portal and you can kind
- 1:17:41of see you know if there's something you're interested in
- 1:17:44signing up for there. We did offer a camp in Salida
- 1:17:47last year which is really awesome.
- 1:17:49We did some mountain biking we had, we were we were staying up
- 1:17:54at the Great Wolf Lodge or the Lone Wolf Lodge I believe and we
- 1:17:58had a disc golf course right there and right at the base of
- 1:18:01the trails. And so, yeah, it was a really,
- 1:18:05it was a really awesome weekend. Unfortunately, we're not gonna
- 1:18:09be doing that weekend again this year, Vicente, so I'm sorry
- 1:18:14about that. We are offering camps out of
- 1:18:17Winter Park though this year, which are the same kind of thing
- 1:18:20where we'll be rafting, we'll be biking, we'll be doing all those
- 1:18:25all those things up in Winter Park, and those expeditions and
- 1:18:30camps are up online now for sign ups if people are interested.
- 1:18:37Awesome. Yeah, that sounds great.
- 1:18:38And you know last year I participated in the Archery
- 1:18:42Challenge. I'm not sure if you're familiar
- 1:18:44with that. It's a nationwide program where
- 1:18:46they do, they have probably 68 stations with you know 2530
- 1:18:54targets at each one. They have a static range.
- 1:18:57It it was phenomenal. I've never experienced anything
- 1:18:59like that and I I I consider myself a pretty, pretty
- 1:19:03proficient Archer. And I went out there and got my
- 1:19:05ass whipped. No, no offense, but yeah, it was
- 1:19:09it was, it was quite a humbling experience, but awesome.
- 1:19:14So I was wondering, do you think that maybe MSCP might get
- 1:19:17involved with, you know, participating in that in years
- 1:19:20to come? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:22We definitely hope to develop that archery program further.
- 1:19:27I think one of the main things is we're looking for the right
- 1:19:30person to spearhead that initiative.
- 1:19:32You know because we currently don't have I would say an Archer
- 1:19:38at that level or caliber who you know would be able to take that
- 1:19:42kind of program and make it to get it to that level like you're
- 1:19:45saying currently. We're definitely more of an
- 1:19:47experiential for archery kind of getting you, getting you
- 1:19:53involved with the sport. So that we hopefully to hand you
- 1:19:56off to some of those those organizations that specialize in
- 1:20:00doing just archery kind of thing.
- 1:20:07Gotcha. They they had a hard time in ACD
- 1:20:10when during the Paralympics having a A-Team doing the cross
- 1:20:17country skiing that that was really hard to man.
- 1:20:22They had I when I was in there was only like one guy.
- 1:20:26How is that program going? Has it, has it built up, gotten
- 1:20:31bigger or is it about the same, Mike?
- 1:20:34Currently I'm not. I do not think we have any
- 1:20:38Nordic athletes this season. So currently we do not have any
- 1:20:43Nordic athletes. I would say it kind of ebbs and
- 1:20:45flows depended on need and when those athletes like are coming
- 1:20:51in to train. And so M1 of the your, I think,
- 1:20:59I think it's your biggest fundraiser the the Wells Fargo
- 1:21:05event is coming up next month and that's a little bit about
- 1:21:09that and your involvement in that and are you bringing your
- 1:21:12camper so I can sleep in it? I might be actually, 'cause I
- 1:21:19might be having a bop back and forth.
- 1:21:22I'm expecting our second child soon, so and that's.
- 1:21:27Kind of. He's got a.
- 1:21:28New right next to the due date. He's a busy.
- 1:21:31Man. Yeah.
- 1:21:32Thank you, guys. So really.
- 1:21:34Wow. Yeah, you're going to be, you're
- 1:21:35going. To be commuting for sure.
- 1:21:38Yeah, it's it's like the due dates of a week supposed to be
- 1:21:44about a week out from that. So I'm kind of like on call
- 1:21:47during that weekend, but it is going to be the weekend of the
- 1:21:52February 22nd to the 24th. It's a Thursday through Friday
- 1:21:56event this year actually Vicente.
- 1:21:58So in the past it's been that Friday through Sunday event and
- 1:22:03so this year we're going to be doing it through Thursday
- 1:22:05through Saturday. That should give us, you know,
- 1:22:08calmer more space on the mountain to mingle and do our
- 1:22:11thing. And yeah, it's a really awesome
- 1:22:15event. We have funders come from all
- 1:22:17over the country to sponsor adaptive racers and they sponsor
- 1:22:25A-Team essentially. And it's kind of a fun race that
- 1:22:27we host for the adaptive racers and for the sponsors themselves
- 1:22:31to kind of get on a course and race.
- 1:22:34We host, you know, kind of the whole shebang with drinks and
- 1:22:38appetizers and food at the base and you know, Spice to mingle
- 1:22:42and some other different events for some of those higher level
- 1:22:45donors and sponsors as well for those teams.
- 1:22:48Super fun event. Everyone's always really high
- 1:22:51spirits, really just a fun race for folks to get out and kind of
- 1:22:57experience what ski racing, adaptive ski racing is all
- 1:23:00about. You know for those folks who
- 1:23:02might not really know what it's all about and to kind of give
- 1:23:04back to that mission of getting those teams.
- 1:23:09So yeah, it's a really awesome. My part of the event is Gopher,
- 1:23:13you know, I got have them go, we got to go.
- 1:23:16We need something on the one getting AT and you know just
- 1:23:18kind of making sure the wheels don't fall off and we keep the
- 1:23:21keep the train on the track throughout the event.
- 1:23:23So that's kind of, I'm back in the house a lot of times and
- 1:23:26just kind of making sure things are running smoothly.
- 1:23:30Yeah. And that's kind of the capacity
- 1:23:31if you volunteer for that is you're you basically are a
- 1:23:33Gopher. They put you where they need
- 1:23:35you. I did.
- 1:23:36I did a participate a couple years ago.
- 1:23:39Man. It was a fun event.
- 1:23:40The thing that I, I, I didn't realize is that they give you as
- 1:23:46a bonus. They give you a pass for the the
- 1:23:48whole event every day of the event to ski.
- 1:23:50Well, I thought it was a pass to use it at my leisure and so
- 1:23:54Sunday came along or whatever day it was and they're like, no,
- 1:23:57you know you you can't use that. You had to use it this week.
- 1:24:00And I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 1:24:03So, you know, make sure you're aware of that if you know you
- 1:24:06gotta use wow, the events going on.
- 1:24:09Yeah, what we do and. What?
- 1:24:10We're open. This year is with the with the
- 1:24:14Thursday through Saturday. I think we're ending early on
- 1:24:16that Saturday because of just like again, traffic at the
- 1:24:22mountain has become kind of untenable on the weekends.
- 1:24:24So that was part of the reason why we kind of moved to that
- 1:24:27Thursday through Saturday. And so that will hopefully give
- 1:24:31our volunteers for this event some, some free time to go out
- 1:24:34and hit the hill. And then if you're on my team,
- 1:24:37VI always. I'm all about ride breaks, so
- 1:24:40make sure you're wearing your snow gear when you come to
- 1:24:42volunteer so you can get out for that ride break.
- 1:24:45You know all. Right.
- 1:24:50Well, we'll talk. We'll talk on the 30th for sure
- 1:24:52because I'd love to be on your team.
- 1:24:54And and the official name is Wells Fargo Ski Cup.
- 1:24:56Is that what it's called? Yeah, this is the the final year
- 1:24:59it'll be under. Wells, OK.
- 1:25:05OK, all right. Well, exciting.
- 1:25:07Exciting. Times.
- 1:25:08That's the one that we need to go to.
- 1:25:09OK, well, let's sign up. We'll sign up.
- 1:25:11That's. The one that we need to go to,
- 1:25:13he wants to go to Keystone. I like I I I look pretty cool
- 1:25:17though, Yeah. You know, if I had like you know
- 1:25:21you can get the Icon pass on base for like basically half
- 1:25:24price. You can't touch the Epic Pass.
- 1:25:26It's the best deal in the business, but you can.
- 1:25:29I still own business. If you have that, see I don't
- 1:25:31have. That I know but if you get and
- 1:25:34I'm I'm talking thinking about buying a Nikon pass which
- 1:25:37includes copper winter Steamboat.
- 1:25:39I think Al Dora I think it has seven days at Arapaho so it's
- 1:25:42got some some some meat to it and and I'm I'm I'm I'm I think
- 1:25:47the general's going to approve that allocation for next year
- 1:25:49and and I'm going to I'm going to pull the trigger So yeah I'll
- 1:25:52go to winter. I love dude I love Mary Jane I
- 1:25:54love Winter Park. I love Tressel in the
- 1:25:56summertime. I mean, it's awesome.
- 1:25:58So I'm not a I'm not. I don't have an aversion towards
- 1:26:01Winter Park, believe me. I I like that hill.
- 1:26:03A lot of people don't like Winter Park that I ski with, but
- 1:26:06I like it. I I I tend to like Winter Park
- 1:26:10and Copper a little bit better than I.
- 1:26:12Love copper as well. And that's why I'm that's why
- 1:26:14I'm going to pull the trigger on that ICON pass 'cause I love
- 1:26:17copper. There is a a nonprofit up there.
- 1:26:19I don't know if you know, it's called adaptive action and it's
- 1:26:22a kind of a small organization. I've I've gone up there a couple
- 1:26:25times. The guy's name is Dan, I believe
- 1:26:27that runs it. He's a vet as well and he's a
- 1:26:29really hard guy to get a hold of, but he's very accommodating.
- 1:26:32Once you get a hold of him, he's like, yeah come on up and you
- 1:26:34want to speak for the day and and I absolutely love Copper.
- 1:26:39And I'm I'm I'm trying to think of the names are escaping me but
- 1:26:46there's a there there's a woman double amputee that she started
- 1:26:52the adaptive and I I skied with her and and I I I can't remember
- 1:26:56her name but she she's an amazing woman her and Keith Doig
- 1:27:03we we we we skied all over the place It it was awesome.
- 1:27:11Back back then they had a shirt that had like the Copper
- 1:27:14Mountain and it said I tapped that you know kind of like you
- 1:27:17know I that kind of thing. It was.
- 1:27:19It was funny. Suggestive.
- 1:27:22Yeah, we're on the main page and.
- 1:27:24Then we're on the main page. Keep it clean.
- 1:27:26Keep it clean. We have a comment.
- 1:27:28Let's check. Let's see if it's a question or
- 1:27:34if it's a bot. How's it going?
- 1:27:36Hey, what's up? From our twitch.
- 1:27:38Yeah, Hey, what's up, Dubs and. Shooters, how did you pronounce
- 1:27:42that? Well, we are at that time for
- 1:27:46the last question unless you have another question.
- 1:27:49No, I'm not. We're ready for time to.
- 1:27:50Shine. All right.
- 1:27:51Have the. Yeah, we.
- 1:27:55Got Is this me? There we go.
- 1:27:59Yeah. Hold on, Sir.
- 1:28:00Shine baby. Here's the time to shine that
- 1:28:06Carlton. So Mike, this is your time to
- 1:28:08shine. It's for you to discuss anything
- 1:28:10we didn't discuss or something that's, you know, near and dear
- 1:28:13to your heart. You know, whatever you want to
- 1:28:18wrap up the show. Yeah, I mean, really, honestly,
- 1:28:23my my whole hope for coming out is just to hopefully get the
- 1:28:28word out for those for veterans and those active duty military
- 1:28:32to know that we're out here and that we have these awesome
- 1:28:34programs happening. You know, the unfortunate matter
- 1:28:39is like we have some really awesome opportunities and
- 1:28:42sometimes it's just hard to get that word out to people where
- 1:28:45they know that this stuff is even up there and available.
- 1:28:50And so really, you know, my whole push for today was to
- 1:28:54hopefully you don't just let people know that we're here.
- 1:28:57We got awesome stuff. We have some really great
- 1:29:00equipment some really great staff and some really great
- 1:29:03programs signed out for for you all and you know just all you
- 1:29:09got to do is kind of get registered and you'll get that
- 1:29:12information to show up. And you know I think it's it's
- 1:29:17just an awesome opportunity that you know I don't I I would love
- 1:29:21to see more people take advantage of it honestly.
- 1:29:23So you know, my hope is that we can hopefully get up, turn a few
- 1:29:29heads today and some folks maybe want to come out and bike with
- 1:29:32us next Thursday, next Tuesday, or come climb with us this, you
- 1:29:36know, one of these Fridays coming up or one of the other
- 1:29:40awesome experiences that we have going on.
- 1:29:44Yeah, definitely, definitely. You know, and I I completely
- 1:29:47agree these these programs are highly underutilized, especially
- 1:29:50by the veteran community. And you know, that's why we do
- 1:29:52what we do, Mike. That's where we, you know, this
- 1:29:54is to get the word out of this, to, you know, let everybody know
- 1:29:59all the all the things beyond the VA that are available and
- 1:30:01you know and and all the experiences.
- 1:30:03My personal experience with these nonprofits has been
- 1:30:05passionate, wonderful people. But Mike, you're at the top of
- 1:30:08my list, 'cause you really bend over backwards to make it happen
- 1:30:12for people. And you're completely immersed
- 1:30:15and you're completely dedicated to our veteran community and I
- 1:30:19highly appreciate it. That really means a lot the
- 1:30:23really. Thank you.
- 1:30:26It's it's awesome to hear that you know that you got your
- 1:30:30noticing that because yeah I I give it my all to kind of find a
- 1:30:33solution get the get you guys out there and so happy to hear
- 1:30:38that you you see that. So appreciate that.
- 1:30:43What? We know you guys are on Disney.
- 1:30:45Person. Sorry, this lag is killing.
- 1:30:51This lag is killing us. I wasn't sure if you guys wanted
- 1:30:55to see a video. I got a small video of our
- 1:31:00adaptive cycle kind of in action out at.
- 1:31:03Our. Trails.
- 1:31:05Is that something I could show on this?
- 1:31:07Real quick. So why not?
- 1:31:12I don't know how we we have to, we have to download it and send
- 1:31:16it to you. Yeah.
- 1:31:18And with the lag, I don't think that's going to work one.
- 1:31:21SEC. Let me see, it's giving me the
- 1:31:24option to to send it to you. OK.
- 1:31:30Well, we'll see. We'll see.
- 1:31:33While he's doing, please. While he's doing that, we want
- 1:31:36to go ahead and say a big huge shout out to Internet Radio
- 1:31:42Network, Sky Blue Radio, Star Radio, Basics Radio, DV Radio.
- 1:31:50Because of them and and because of Dunkin' Donuts who caters
- 1:31:56every morning, we want to thank you for helping and supporting
- 1:32:02the show. Without you guys, this mission
- 1:32:05would not be accomplished and. We we make our dreams come true.
- 1:32:15So what did that say? You have too many.
- 1:32:17Yeah. So we're we're running out of
- 1:32:21time Mike we'll. I'm not able to figure it out
- 1:32:26either. Yeah, you you can send it to us
- 1:32:31and we'll we'll we'll share it on a later episode that'd.
- 1:32:36Be awesome. Because we'd love to get that
- 1:32:37out. Mike, thank you so much for
- 1:32:41taking time out of your day. We we can tell that you're
- 1:32:44you're even at work as as we're talking.
- 1:32:48Thank you so much for spending a little bit of time with us.
- 1:32:52Yeah. Thanks.
- 1:32:53Mike, appreciate it. I'll see you on Tuesday.
- 1:32:55Yeah. See you on Tuesday.
- 1:32:56And thank you guys for taking the time to let me join, join
- 1:32:59the show. I really appreciate it.
- 1:33:03We'll see you guys later. Have a great.
- 1:33:05Day. Once again, everybody that is I
- 1:33:10can't pronounce like Gabby. And Nelly, program director at
- 1:33:13NSCD. He's wears many hats.
- 1:33:18I've done and he's very talented.
- 1:33:19I've done archery with him, I've done air rifle with him, rock
- 1:33:22climbing, mountain biking, haven't not got on the mountain
- 1:33:24in the winter yet, but he 'cause when I first met him, he said he
- 1:33:28didn't do winter sports and I'm like, huh, But I misheard him,
- 1:33:31he says. I don't do.
- 1:33:31I haven't been doing a lot of it, 'cause I'm so busy.
- 1:33:34But yeah, apparently he likes to go on the mountain and he's
- 1:33:37intrigued by the snow go, as are you, So I'm looking forward to a
- 1:33:40little friendly competition. You know what's so funny?
- 1:33:45What's so funny is you find it a lot in a mountain town.
- 1:33:50I found it in Aspen. I found it in Granby when I was
- 1:33:54there. These individuals that live
- 1:33:57there, they hardly ever get to ski the mountain because they're
- 1:34:01always working. It's that's how expensive it is.
- 1:34:06When I when I skied, they used to make fun of me because
- 1:34:10instead of going to like the the local market there, you know,
- 1:34:15you got like 45% off, you know, food and stuff.
- 1:34:19Instead of doing that, I was such a cheapskate.
- 1:34:21I literally would get in my vehicle and I would go to
- 1:34:26McDonald's and I would get food because McDonald's was cheaper
- 1:34:32than Yeah, I mean, it is. It's expensive.
- 1:34:36You could you could you could provide McDonald's iffy all week
- 1:34:40at one meal at A at a mountain Chalet I.
- 1:34:42Mean. Yeah.
- 1:34:43Ridiculous to to get one of like a clam chowder and then like in
- 1:34:49a bread bowl or whatever. It was like $25.
- 1:34:52Yeah. Yeah, it's expensive.
- 1:34:55And then they they, they tease you with, which is a it's a
- 1:34:58decent discount. But if you use your Epic Pass at
- 1:35:01checkout, you get a a discount and you know, it's a decent.
- 1:35:05I mean, last time we went out, my buddy bought some chicken
- 1:35:07fingers or something, 'cause I'm like you, I pack my own food,
- 1:35:10I'm too cheap and I'm not paying those exorbitant prices.
- 1:35:13So he he bought like me a hot chocolate and him a hot
- 1:35:16chocolate and a. It's like chicken.
- 1:35:19Fingers platter and it was like 25.
- 1:35:21Bucks, Yeah. And.
- 1:35:23Two drinks and chicken. Fingers that was $8 off, so it
- 1:35:28was actually more than that. So we got $8 off, 'cause I use
- 1:35:30my EPIC Pass and I was like, wow, it's crazy.
- 1:35:35Now remember the one, the one thing that I will say is that
- 1:35:40when you go skiing, the secret ingredient is to take a Cliff
- 1:35:46bar, Cliff bar or Cline bar. Yeah, you want to take a bunch
- 1:35:52of those because trust me, after one run you're going to be
- 1:35:56hungry. Yeah.
- 1:35:57And you know, and I've learned over the years, you know, 'cause
- 1:36:00I used to be, you know, big lunch guy, you know, pack a
- 1:36:02lunch, which I do still pack a lunch, but when I'm on the
- 1:36:06mountain, it's like you said, it's just to satiate, satiate,
- 1:36:10satiate your appetite. You're not trying to fatten
- 1:36:15yourself, 'cause if you eat a big meal at lunch and then you
- 1:36:18go back and, 'cause I really don't take a lunch break, so,
- 1:36:21but if you do have buddies that, hey, can we stop from?
- 1:36:23Yeah, if you eat a big lunch, you're going to be lethargic.
- 1:36:26Huh. Oh, yeah.
- 1:36:27You know, you're going to be in food coma.
- 1:36:28Yeah, you're going to be like. You want to save that big lift.
- 1:36:31You want to save that big lunch for after your day, like on the
- 1:36:34drive home or before you, you know, in the parking lot before
- 1:36:37you leave, whatever. But yeah, don't eat that.
- 1:36:39You know you'll, you'll pay the price.
- 1:36:41You just won't feel, you know, up to your term style or
- 1:36:45something. Yeah, man, you, you know won't
- 1:36:49be able the maneuver. You're like, oh man, oh oh oh,
- 1:36:52and then there you do an endo, you know.
- 1:36:54Now, have you ever, have you ever skied Aspen?
- 1:36:58I have. OK, other than Snowmass with the
- 1:37:02DAV sports clinic. Like have you?
- 1:37:04Skied it. I've done it with shoot.
- 1:37:09What is the name of that? What's the What's the
- 1:37:11organization up there? Boec.
- 1:37:13No, not in. Aspen adaptive No.
- 1:37:16OK. That is, why is it escape?
- 1:37:19Me. Are you talking about Vale Ski
- 1:37:21Club? No, it's in Aspen.
- 1:37:23Oh, challenge Aspen. Challenge Aspen.
- 1:37:25Yeah, and camo. And I've done a lot of things
- 1:37:28with them. Yeah, they.
- 1:37:29And they give you the option of skiing all five mountains with
- 1:37:37their in their camp. So if you say if one day you
- 1:37:39wake up and say, hey, can we ski Aspen today or can we ski
- 1:37:43buttermilk, whatever, they'll let you go over there and ski
- 1:37:47it. So that's what I did one year
- 1:37:49and I didn't do it to enough. I wanted to do it more.
- 1:37:53So I'm looking for they have a new thing out there called
- 1:37:57Western Slope Socials, which is usually Thursday through
- 1:38:01Saturday, something like that. You have to pay for your
- 1:38:03lodging. No, you have to pay for your way
- 1:38:06up there and then there's a fee that you have to pay and then
- 1:38:10everything else is taken care of.
- 1:38:13And then they have the camps as well, which is those are kind of
- 1:38:16hard to get into. Camos kind of changed their
- 1:38:19policy because for a while there it was one and done, You know if
- 1:38:23you've gone, you're not allowed to come back up, which kind of
- 1:38:26really chapped my butt. But now they're kind of being a
- 1:38:29little more lenient And because I went to several camo of events
- 1:38:33this last summer. I went to that archery challenge
- 1:38:35through camo. I went to a a rafting and and
- 1:38:40event with them and it was like 3 events.
- 1:38:43Boom, boom, boom. And I think a lot of times, you
- 1:38:45know, in these camps, you go to these camps and you're a A, a, a
- 1:38:48frequent flyer and they have slots.
- 1:38:51They remember you. So they'll call you.
- 1:38:53Hey dude, man, we got open. You want to go?
- 1:38:55Heck yeah, I want to go. So it it it pays dividends if
- 1:38:59you participate in these programs.
- 1:39:01You know and like I said earlier they're highly in my opinion,
- 1:39:04these programs are highly underutilized.
- 1:39:06Now certain ones like stars like you know winter ones seem to be
- 1:39:09more popular cause like right now I I go through cycles.
- 1:39:14I don't know if it's my menopause or what it is, but I
- 1:39:16go through cycles and this year I I was in one of those moods
- 1:39:20and I was like, I'm not signing up for any camps and part of it
- 1:39:22was cause of the crappy snow in the beginning of the season.
- 1:39:25We got hardly any snow in December.
- 1:39:27So I was like, I'm not going, I'm not going to waste my time
- 1:39:29and be disappointed. But then all of a sudden we
- 1:39:31started getting dumped on, dumped on, dumped on.
- 1:39:34And I was like, dude, I messed up.
- 1:39:36So I had to call up Steamboat. They're like, we're full.
- 1:39:38Put me on the wait list. I called up and I said we're
- 1:39:40full. Put me on the wait list.
- 1:39:42I think I am going to get into Telluride camp.
- 1:39:44That's another great camp that you should should look at, look
- 1:39:47into. Telluride is just incredible and
- 1:39:51I might be able to go to. That's the other one.
- 1:39:57NAC OK. Have you been there?
- 1:39:59I've pretty much been to every ski like resort here in
- 1:40:05Colorado. I've I've been there.
- 1:40:07I was going to say that. He's not here in Colorado.
- 1:40:10Huh. It's in Utah.
- 1:40:12Oh, you're talk. You're talking about Park City?
- 1:40:14Park City. Yeah, yeah, We I had to go there
- 1:40:18every. We had to go there two times
- 1:40:21every single year we had to go. They're just a a friendly
- 1:40:26competition and then usually Nationals was done there.
- 1:40:32Sanction race. Yes, yes.
- 1:40:34And it was always this one hill. It was always this one hill and
- 1:40:39they put injected ice on there. And you know, I was all like
- 1:40:45scared until I learned how to, you know, really be on my edges.
- 1:40:50And it was a little bit better. But yeah, it was, it was 1 hill
- 1:40:54and it was funny, 'cause, you know, when you go skiing, if
- 1:40:59you're if you have a visual disability and you can tell you
- 1:41:03have a visual disability if you don't have the jacket on, you go
- 1:41:07into the ski line. And one year Teague, one of my
- 1:41:12friends, he he's an amazing individual.
- 1:41:16He skis with one arm and one leg and you know, we're getting
- 1:41:22ready to go into the entrance and and this civilian, what you
- 1:41:26could tell she was civil. You could tell she had money.
- 1:41:29She, you know, you can tell the ones that have money, 'cause
- 1:41:31they're all like, you know, bling, bling and stuff.
- 1:41:35And she comes over and she's like, he gets to go before we do
- 1:41:39and he's. Like, kidding me.
- 1:41:41Yeah, and are you? Kidding me?
- 1:41:43She said. That and he's like, well, you
- 1:41:45want to change places, you know, it's like.
- 1:41:48Let me get my. Let me get my my tools out.
- 1:41:51But hey, you, you have, you have all all kinds of people, you
- 1:41:55know, you have people that park in handicapped.
- 1:41:59Hey, I'm not handicapped, but I'm only going to be here for
- 1:42:02like 15 minutes. It don't matter, you know.
- 1:42:05The big one I hate. The big one I hate is when they
- 1:42:08pull in, like, let's say it's at the supermarket or at the rec
- 1:42:11center, they're dropping someone off or someone's running into
- 1:42:13the store and they pull into the handicap spot and they leave
- 1:42:15their engine running. So they think it's OK because
- 1:42:17their engine's running. It's like, dude, it doesn't
- 1:42:19matter, you know, get out. I I will.
- 1:42:22I'll tell them move or I'm calling the cops.
- 1:42:26Especially if somebody needs it, I'd rather just.
- 1:42:30The one thing I was going to say, the the thing I loved about
- 1:42:33Aspen and I kind of wish they would implement it at Winter
- 1:42:36Park or all these other ski resorts is they don't have a
- 1:42:41wire on the ski lift to where you can plug it in your phone
- 1:42:46and you can play music. They got speakers on the oh,
- 1:42:50it's so awesome that they have that and they have the gondola
- 1:42:54and that. That was a big thing about with
- 1:42:58me with skiing, like I have the best time of my life as long as
- 1:43:02I, you know, have music. You know, yeah, I gotta have
- 1:43:04music. I'm doing anything I do
- 1:43:06anything. I'd have to have music.
- 1:43:07But you know, one of the neat things that are some of the
- 1:43:09resorts are doing is they do have a a handicap lane.
- 1:43:13So I know they have it at Winter Park.
- 1:43:15So they have, you know, 'cause like if you go to a lesson and
- 1:43:19you have an instructor, you you, you know, budget the line you
- 1:43:22can they go, you go straight ahead.
- 1:43:24But if you're there by yourself you're, you know you can go
- 1:43:27singles line or you wait in the line.
- 1:43:29But now some of the resorts like Winter Park are have they have a
- 1:43:32handicap entry entryway and you can go in there and budget the
- 1:43:37line. I love that feature.
- 1:43:39Yeah, I always wear my Paralympic jacket.
- 1:43:41That way. I don't have to worry about it.
- 1:43:43If you don't wear your Paralympic jacket, most of the
- 1:43:46time you have to, you have to like be partners with like a
- 1:43:51mono ski 'cause you know, you don't exactly look disabled kind
- 1:43:55of thing, so. Yeah.
- 1:43:57But hey, we are at that moment where we're going to do the
- 1:44:01Tribute to the Troops. And before we go to the tribute,
- 1:44:05hold on a second. Before we go to the Tribute to
- 1:44:07the Troops, I want to say this, we're we're we're doing a
- 1:44:12tribute for her and about I I believe Friday or Monday.
- 1:44:18But there was a fellow veteran that did the radio show like we
- 1:44:24do for Vet Radio. She she she lost her battle with
- 1:44:32PTSD. Michelle Young she she died I
- 1:44:37believe Wednesday. She was 34 and our hearts go out
- 1:44:45to her family during this time. But I I wanted to give my
- 1:44:50condolences even though we're doing the tribute next week.
- 1:44:53But now we can do the tribute to the troops.
- 1:45:00Sir, I don't. I don't know how to tell this
- 1:45:03story. Well, you got the joke.
- 1:45:07You telling her people what these men did here, You tell
- 1:45:10them how much troopers died. Friends and family thank you for
- 1:45:33tuning in today as MBR pays tribute to Navy Special Warfare
- 1:45:37Operator First Class Christopher J.
- 1:45:40Chambers, 37, of Massachusetts, who was declared lost at sea on
- 1:45:45January 21st, 2024 off the coast of Somalia during an Iranian
- 1:45:51weapons seizure mission. Chambers enlisted in the Navy in
- 1:45:552012 and graduated from SEAL training in 2014.
- 1:46:00Chambers was a true hero. On behalf of us here at MBR, we
- 1:46:04want to say thank you, Special Operator Chris J.
- 1:46:07Chambers for your service and dedication to our country.
- 1:46:11Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and
- 1:46:14those who served alongside. Welcome back, ladies and
- 1:50:48gentlemen. Welcome back.
- 1:50:52I'm not sure what that noise was, but.
- 1:50:54That was me. That was me going ha ha 'cause
- 1:50:57we're we're almost done. And I tell you what, if you're
- 1:51:00listening and you know that we're the secret word of the day
- 1:51:06is wobble, wobble. There you go, there you go.
- 1:51:10If you take that secret word and you go into our Facebook page,
- 1:51:16we have a contest. Win a bubble head of yourself
- 1:51:21and you know follow us. I mean you get like so many
- 1:51:25points. Like if you follow Facebook,
- 1:51:28follow Twitter follow Twitch you get like so many points but like
- 1:51:33for seven points. That's the secret word of the
- 1:51:37day and and now now now VS going to go over there and and and put
- 1:51:42in that well he's got he's got his book out.
- 1:51:47Yeah. So I have a question.
- 1:51:51What? How do people participate that
- 1:51:54are old school like me, that aren't very savvy in social
- 1:51:57media or don't I have accounts? Is there a way they can
- 1:52:00participate? Yeah, it's called.
- 1:52:01Create an account like it and then don't ever use it again.
- 1:52:07Oh, can I? We can't call it in and enter
- 1:52:10the contest. No, it's a.
- 1:52:12It's a like a. It's a follow thing.
- 1:52:14Oh. OK.
- 1:52:15Yeah. OK.
- 1:52:16That makes sense. Hey, we will I I'll tell you
- 1:52:20what we will do a a call in thing sooner or later because
- 1:52:26when I was at the embroidery grabbing his his shirt, yeah
- 1:52:32it's all. Official now.
- 1:52:34Yeah, so when I was at his when when I grabbed that shirt, he
- 1:52:39also gave me one of the old style shirts with the NBR logo.
- 1:52:46And here in the next week or so, after we get done with this
- 1:52:51contest, we're probably going to have another contest.
- 1:52:55And that contest is going to be for a shirt.
- 1:53:02We're going to call it the Honorary MBR Listener Shirt.
- 1:53:07And the only way that you can get it is by listening to us all
- 1:53:15the time. And if if we start seeing your
- 1:53:19name completely all the time, then you have a good chance of
- 1:53:25women. Yeah, and.
- 1:53:26You could be passing me on the show, so maybe the.
- 1:53:28Probably pretty cool. Yeah.
- 1:53:30And you know we have a new segment coming out we're we're
- 1:53:33probably starting about a month or whatever it's these segment
- 1:53:38we're it's. Called Soldier Spotlight.
- 1:53:40Yeah, so we're going to feature a veteran.
- 1:53:45We're still working out the details, but we're going to
- 1:53:47feature a veteran hopefully every week and kind of just tell
- 1:53:51their story. Success, failure, struggles,
- 1:53:55epiphanies, anything that they that's on their mind and their
- 1:53:58heart that they want to discuss and just kind of give them a
- 1:54:01platform, you know, 'cause we had one guy that emailed us
- 1:54:04recently and man, what a hard luck story.
- 1:54:06That guy, holy cow, A lot of challenges, a lot of obstacles
- 1:54:12and he's still going strong. So it just kind of came to me
- 1:54:16that, you know, we should do that.
- 1:54:19I have, I have a couple reluctant participants that are
- 1:54:22like, Oh no, I'm not interesting.
- 1:54:24And it's it has nothing to do with you being interesting.
- 1:54:27It has nothing to do with, you know what do I say what if you
- 1:54:31just tell us your story. All you do is say, you know, I
- 1:54:34was, you know, my name is you give a little background.
- 1:54:37I was in the military what service these dates these I was
- 1:54:40a whatever you were whatever your job entailed you know I got
- 1:54:46out in I mean it's it's pretty much self.
- 1:54:48Expanded Unfortunately, when you get out of the military and you
- 1:54:51transition to the civilian life, it's it's very hard.
- 1:54:57Like a lot of people have made mistakes.
- 1:55:00And what happens when you make mistakes, you learn from them.
- 1:55:04And you know if you don't want, if you don't want veterans to
- 1:55:09struggle like I did, you know, like any veteran did you know
- 1:55:15these shows, you know, talking about experiences, talking about
- 1:55:19stuff that you know that you just hitting a brick wall, it
- 1:55:25really helps you. You know, your your struggle
- 1:55:29story could be somebody's a plan of attack for, you know, so that
- 1:55:36they don't have to struggle. So that's the reason why there's
- 1:55:39so many shows like this. I mean and you know, it's not
- 1:55:42just our show. Like you know, we have a show
- 1:55:47almost every single day. You know Mondays we have the
- 1:55:50Black Sugar show. Tuesday we have dog tag Diva
- 1:55:55show. Wednesday we have a political
- 1:56:00show with Slacker 82A. I think it's a lot of lot of
- 1:56:04lessons and stuff. Then we have on Thursday we have
- 1:56:08OM Radio and then we have Gunslinger Tavern and then we
- 1:56:14have not only this show but then we have from Sky Blue radio JT
- 1:56:19show. You know and you know you don't
- 1:56:23have to do video when you come here to MBR, but we do both of
- 1:56:27them. We are looking for, you know,
- 1:56:30DJs that just want to do music, you know, if that's something
- 1:56:35that you are interested in, message us.
- 1:56:40You know this is, this is supposed to be an outlet, you
- 1:56:45know and you know every morning when we come here we you know,
- 1:56:52we're we're we know that we're not the Ellen show.
- 1:56:55We know we're not Oprah. We know we ain't going to get 3
- 1:56:58reviews. And you know, if you're looking
- 1:57:01at this and you support us, I tell you the biggest way you can
- 1:57:06support us is by liking, you know, just just giving a like
- 1:57:11you know, on a show, you know that that number right there,
- 1:57:17right now it's it's two, you know, we got two likes.
- 1:57:20It should be more than that, you know, But we have tons of shows
- 1:57:26here at NBR, even on Saturdays we do barracks talk that DD
- 1:57:32radio. And you know, if if you didn't
- 1:57:34know, we have a huge issue with at the DDV farms because they
- 1:57:43usually house homeless veterans and give them different skills,
- 1:57:50you know, working at the farm and stuff like that.
- 1:57:52And they can't do that right now because the septic system is is
- 1:57:58out of whack. You know, I I almost mentioned
- 1:58:01PORTA potties, but you know, they're like, you know if you're
- 1:58:05going to do it, you need to do it right.
- 1:58:09So there's a lot of, there's a lot of options out there and if
- 1:58:14you didn't know, to the right where it says DV radio, there's
- 1:58:17a little scan thing. You know, if you can give $5 or
- 1:58:21whatever, you know, great. Check and see what comment we
- 1:58:25have on there. We got a comment.
- 1:58:29Let's see if it's sending. Goodbye.
- 1:58:33Oh, ladies and gentlemen, hey, let me tell you about this show
- 1:58:37right here. OK?
- 1:58:38This is a she's she has more accreditations and certificates
- 1:58:44than I do on my credit report, OK?
- 1:58:47She knows her crap. She does a podcast.
- 1:58:51She interviews veterans and 1st responders.
- 1:58:56If you haven't checked out Bulletproof Podcast, you really
- 1:59:01need to because it's an it's an amazing, amazing podcast.
- 1:59:07There's there's lots of podcasts on our on our whole thing that
- 1:59:12you just need to check into. It is that time.
- 1:59:16It is the final thoughts. 554-433-2211 we have ignition
- 1:59:29stripping. It's the two-minute warning, 2
- 1:59:30minute warning. What we won.
- 1:59:39Today, sponsored by operationgoodboy.com Use code at
- 1:59:42Checkout Military Discount Radio.
- 1:59:50All right, caveman, you know what?
- 1:59:53We'll go. What did you learn today?
- 1:59:57Always, every week coming in to new non profit.
- 2:00:00It's a new way for veterans to get out there because I didn't
- 2:00:04know there's so many other ones. Yeah, And I mean, you're a
- 2:00:07military dependent. Your dad's in the military, so
- 2:00:12you know I didn't. Even know, Yeah, there's a lot
- 2:00:14of stuff out there. Yeah, what did you learn today?
- 2:00:17Well, you know, I learned, you know, we get you know and one
- 2:00:20thing that we didn't mention that's going to be a new
- 2:00:21addition as well is we're going to have a musical live music
- 2:00:24component. So we're working on that work
- 2:00:26with guy, great guy from Soldier Songs and voices called Tony
- 2:00:30Rosario. We're going to set up a meeting
- 2:00:32in the next couple of weeks hopefully for him to come in and
- 2:00:35kind of get the lay of the land. Where are we going to set up the
- 2:00:37stuff, the equipment and have a, a, a live artist in here,
- 2:00:43including myself. So brace yourself.
- 2:00:46But what I learned is that, you know, you get caught up.
- 2:00:49You're doing this, you're doing that.
- 2:00:50You're busy with, you know, promoting your, your product.
- 2:00:54But there are a lot of great podcasts out there.
- 2:00:56There's a there's a there's a a myriad of podcasts to begin with
- 2:01:01when I'm talking strictly veteran ones that I need to get
- 2:01:05more involved in and I need to observe and watch and and learn
- 2:01:09from because you know there's some you know veteran veterans
- 2:01:14out there that are podcasters that are been doing this for a
- 2:01:17long time and I could learn a few.
- 2:01:18You know, I I'm a visual learner, so I learned best from
- 2:01:21watching other people do something so.
- 2:01:25And you've came a long way. You have you came a long way.
- 2:01:28I appreciate it. You know, I mean there's been a
- 2:01:30couple of times we've been like you know, no content and and
- 2:01:36we're we're getting better we're we're jiving.
- 2:01:37But it takes a while for that the the most.
- 2:01:41The biggest thing that I've learned today was that the
- 2:01:46Winter Park open, the Wells Fargo Cup.
- 2:01:49It's just around the corner. And we're going, yeah, we need
- 2:01:51to do that. So.
- 2:01:52But hey, ladies and gentlemen, when this show ends, you'll be
- 2:01:57able to catch it wherever you find your podcast.
- 2:02:00And remember, once again, we are here for you, not for us.
- 2:02:05We're giving our veterans a voice.
- 2:02:07Yes, we focus on all things veterans.
- 2:02:09We advocate, educate, liberate, communicate, congregate,
- 2:02:13fascinate. So we can proliferate.
- 2:02:16See you guys next Friday everybody.
- 2:02:18Goodbye. That's the show for today
- 2:02:20everyone. Thanks for listening.
