- 0:00Picture a group of young professionals, um, just
- 0:03stepping away from their usual daily operations
- 0:06to craft natural leather wallets, meticulously
- 0:10roast coffee, and, you know, weave traditional
- 0:13palm fronds. Wow. That is exactly what recently
- 0:17took place at the Alsafa Art and Design Library
- 0:20in Dubai. It is such a brilliant pivot from standard
- 0:24corporate training. Yeah, totally. More than
- 0:2860 young employees from the Dubai Electricity
- 0:31and Water Authority actually stepped into this
- 0:33creative space. Incredible. The interactive workshops
- 0:37were convened by the Diwa Youth Council under
- 0:40the School of Life Initiative, a really wonderful
- 0:43program launched by Dubai Culture. It is fascinating
- 0:46to see a major utility organization, of all things,
- 0:50prioritize cultural arts. Right. It just shows
- 0:55an understanding that... practical, hands -on
- 0:58creativity is a really vital skill. Reflecting
- 1:02on this initiative, it was officially stated
- 1:05that the practical workshops organized by the
- 1:07Youth Council in collaboration with Dubai Culture
- 1:10underscore the richness and diversity of Dubai's
- 1:13cultural landscape. Exactly. They also reflect
- 1:17the shared commitment of government and private
- 1:19sector entities to fostering an interactive and
- 1:22innovative learning environment, enriched by
- 1:25local and international artistic and creative
- 1:27experiences. That completely aligns with the
- 1:30idea that modern professionals need diverse environments
- 1:34to thrive. Oh, for sure. You don't just learn
- 1:37from a textbook. You know, you learn by doing,
- 1:40by working with your hands and connecting with
- 1:42heritage. Yes. The broader vision behind this
- 1:46was perfectly captured in another official statement.
- 1:49Diwa Youth Council is committed to developing
- 1:51the life, creative, and cultural skills of Diwa's
- 1:55youth, harnessing their potential, unleashing
- 1:58their creativity, and encouraging a spirit of
- 2:00continuous learning. We continue to provide Veng
- 2:04people with opportunities to experience integrated
- 2:06programs that combine applied learning, teamwork,
- 2:10and community engagement. empowering them to
- 2:13create a sustainable impact within Diwa and the
- 2:16wider community. When you combine applied learning
- 2:19with teamwork in such a culturally rich setting,
- 2:22you are building leaders who understand their
- 2:24community on a much deeper level. Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:28It bridges the gap between the corporate world
- 2:31and cultural heritage in a highly practical way.
- 2:34Right. Now, here's a question we'd like you to
- 2:37think about. If your workplace offered a School
- 2:40of Life workshop tomorrow, What creative or traditional
- 2:43skill would you want to learn to help you grow
- 2:45professionally?
