- 1:04Speaker 2: Who knows what evil works in the hearts of men?
- 1:12Speaker 2: The Shadow Lord?
- 1:28Speaker 3: The Shadow, mysterious character who furthers the forces of law
- 1:31Speaker 3: and order, is in reality Lamont Cranston, wealthy young man
- 1:35Speaker 3: about town. The Shadow uses his hypnotic power to cloud
- 1:39Speaker 3: men's minds so that they cannot see him. Cranston's friend
- 1:42Speaker 3: and companion, the lovely Margot Lane, is the only person
- 1:46Speaker 3: who knows to whom the unseen voice of the shadow
- 1:48Speaker 3: belongs today's story. Murder in the ballpark.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well, sports fans, here we are back at Eagle Field.
- 2:05Speaker 4: They're no scoring this game so far.

- 2:10Speaker 2: Now? There two and two Whitey, two balls and two stripes.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Here's the pitch. Whitey hits one out of the right field.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It's the base hit. He's on his way now.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Wait wait, Brooks is staggering with the baseline.

- 2:30Speaker 2: He's fallow.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Extra Whitey Brooks hates how that murdered and bought Fike
- 2:39Speaker 5: Xtray Xtray Brooks murdered and bought Bick.
- 2:42Speaker 4: We are.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Hey, Andy, what are you doing here in that clubhouse?
- 2:49Speaker 6: You're supposed to be out warming up your pitch today?
- 2:52Speaker 6: Look at him? He falls asleep ten minutes before the

- 3:34Speaker 2: on the third baseline.
- 3:35Speaker 7: Okay, Oh, do you mind if we stand here a
- 3:37Speaker 7: second the month. I've never seen anything like this a
- 3:40Speaker 7: night baseball game. Why those big archives make the feel
- 3:43Speaker 7: as bright as day. That's it's very impressive.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Keep moving with your lady, you're blocking a view.
- 3:49Speaker 8: Oh sorry, lead on, Lamon.
- 3:51Speaker 7: All right, So you know I'm very curious to know
- 3:55Speaker 7: why we've come to this game tonight.
- 3:57Speaker 8: You promise you tell me when we got here.
- 4:00Speaker 2: My interest happens to be professional. Oh you know that
- 4:03Speaker 2: two killings have taken place at this ballpark within the
- 4:05Speaker 2: last two weeks.
- 4:06Speaker 8: Yes, I remember reading that two noted pictures were mysteriously slain, and.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It happened in this very stadium. One was an ace
- 4:13Speaker 2: hurdler named Brooks. The other was a great picture by
- 4:16Speaker 2: the name of Crossband.
- 4:17Speaker 8: It's unbelievable. Why, well, somehow I never associate murder with baseball.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Nevertheless, it has happened, and that's why we here tonight.
- 4:24Speaker 7: I see, say Lamont at hunchback certainly can play baseball,
- 4:28Speaker 7: right there's one out there on the field.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Oh, oh, yes, that's Bogo, the mascot. He's been with
- 4:35Speaker 2: the team for years. Good little ball player too. He
- 4:38Speaker 2: always clowns for the customers during practice.
- 4:40Speaker 8: Lamont. It says here in the program that.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Joe Roberts caught more flies than any other shortstop.
- 4:46Speaker 8: What's a shortstop and what do you want to catch
- 4:48Speaker 8: flies for?
- 4:49Speaker 2: Well, Margo, with shortstops one of the players and a fly?
- 4:52Speaker 8: Why know what a little fly is?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Silly?
- 4:54Speaker 8: But why did they call him a shortstop?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Well, because I'll tell you later.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Margaret, it came.
- 5:00Speaker 8: Who are the players in blue?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Those are the umpires, Darling.
- 5:04Speaker 8: I won't say another word.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Battery for the night escape for the Eagles, strag me,
- 5:12Speaker 1: pitchy and provis sketchy.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I don't know that's that's part of the game. You're
- 5:20Speaker 2: never supposed to understand. The Enhuancer for.
- 5:22Speaker 5: The Terriers, Marson, pitchy and boys fun catchy.
- 5:32Speaker 7: I guess it's the thing to do the mood. Are
- 5:34Speaker 7: you sure they can see to play under these lights?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Well, they have all seasons. Now, what do you say, muggle?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Let's watch the ball game, shall we?
- 5:41Speaker 8: Who's the man in the center position.
- 5:43Speaker 2: My darling. He's affectionately known as the pitcher and one
- 5:46Speaker 2: of the best pitchers in the baseball game, I might add, ed, Marson.
- 5:49Speaker 8: What's he twisting all around for?
- 5:51Speaker 2: He's winding up for the first pitch, and here it
- 5:53Speaker 2: comes for the lights have gone out the monk.
- 5:57Speaker 8: What's wrong?
- 5:57Speaker 2: I don't know, but I don't like it. It's a
- 5:59Speaker 2: tide muggle subdomant, and I don't understand.
- 6:01Speaker 8: It'll be the lights back on again.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I wonder, Margo look out in the center of the
- 6:08Speaker 2: diamond Mars in the picture he stretched out on the ground.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Here you going them on out on the field to see.
- 6:13Speaker 2: What's happened to Martian?
- 6:14Speaker 4: You went there, I couldn't see nothing.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Wait a minute, don't move wom until we find out
- 6:23Speaker 2: what's happening. Ed. You're right, he's out cold. He's more
- 6:27Speaker 2: than not cold, gentlemen, he's dead. Well, corner, what's your verdict,
- 6:38Speaker 2: Mission of Western? This man was electricuted.
- 6:45Speaker 4: If we we'll start looking around out here on the infield,
- 6:47Speaker 4: can I be of any help, Commissioner Western? Huh, oh,
- 6:49Speaker 4: it's you Cranston. I thought I ordered this park empty.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Well, we knew that rule didn't apply to oust mister
- 6:54Speaker 7: Weston good evening?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Was lad? Did the coroner Reginny verdict as ed? May?
- 7:00Speaker 2: I ask what it was?
- 7:01Speaker 4: The Department is not a libertor to devolves that information
- 7:03Speaker 4: of present, Miss Granson.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Oh, I see, it wouldn't have been electrocution with it. Well,
- 7:09Speaker 2: what makes you think that this little steel plate here
- 7:11Speaker 2: beside the pictures rubbery right here? So that's away, Commissioner.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I wouldn't touch it if I were you, until the
- 7:18Speaker 2: wire is traced to its source.
- 7:20Speaker 4: That's how it was done. Steel plates on his spike
- 7:23Speaker 4: shoes made the contact necessary for the shock.
- 7:26Speaker 8: Wasn't that clever of Lamont to find a commissioner?
- 7:28Speaker 4: Yes?
- 7:28Speaker 8: Yes, who do you suppose did it?
- 7:30Speaker 4: Well? The department is not.
- 7:31Speaker 8: At liberty to devolve that information at present. In other words,
- 7:34Speaker 8: you don't know. Isn't that it?
- 7:35Speaker 4: Not at all?
- 7:36Speaker 2: I'd like to point out a few things to you Western.
- 7:38Speaker 4: What's that?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Have you noticed that all the deaths have occut on
- 7:41Speaker 2: the teams that are playing the Eagles? Yes? And all
- 7:44Speaker 2: the victims were pictures, very excellent pictures, I might add.
- 7:47Speaker 4: That's but what does that prove?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Nothing conclusive? Just the lead, that's all.
- 7:51Speaker 4: How I have a favor to ask of you people, Granson?
- 7:55Speaker 2: And what's that?
- 7:56Speaker 4: I don't want anyone to know that we were aware
- 7:58Speaker 4: of how the victim died, So please keep it quiet,
- 8:00Speaker 4: will you?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Certain? Me, and now I have a favor to ask you. Well,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I'd like to be present at headquarters tomorrow when you
- 8:07Speaker 2: conduct your investigation.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Here's a deal.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yes, come in, Margot, A commissioner will be delighted to
- 8:20Speaker 2: have you here. Write Commissioner Western.
- 8:21Speaker 4: And by all means, come in, miss Lane.
- 8:24Speaker 8: Thank you, Commissioner. Well have you found out anything?
- 8:27Speaker 4: Oh afraid not any more of them out there, Murphy,
- 8:30Speaker 4: just two Pixie Parker the picture and all help from
- 8:33Speaker 4: the groundkeeper. Now I'm send Parker in.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Well, this will be very educational, Margo. Mister Pixie Parker
- 8:39Speaker 2: is the original daf in this boy sort of a
- 8:42Speaker 2: fugitive from one of those stories Ring Laudner used to.
- 8:45Speaker 8: Write, wonderful a mon?
- 8:47Speaker 4: How do you do? Come on in, Parker. This is
- 8:50Speaker 4: miss Lane and mister Cranston. Oh, I'm very pleased to
- 8:53Speaker 4: make your acquaintance.
- 8:54Speaker 8: Thanks Pard, same here, Margot.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Can you shed any light on our mystery pixing?
- 8:58Speaker 9: Well, Commissioner, I am thinking while I am waiting outside
- 9:01Speaker 9: that what happens last night is very much the same
- 9:04Speaker 9: has happened to me when I'm having a twenty game
- 9:06Speaker 9: win streak in Joyce City. How's that well as I
- 9:09Speaker 9: am the sensation of the league, they are saving me
- 9:11Speaker 9: for pitching night games exclusive on account of I am
- 9:14Speaker 9: such a gay attraction.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yes, but what's that to do with Marton's death? Well,
- 9:17Speaker 4: I am reaching that point. I'll go on one night.
- 9:19Speaker 9: I am pitching for Joyce City, steaming them in and
- 9:21Speaker 9: my usual faithful style. When all of a sudden the
- 9:25Speaker 9: lights is out, Yes, yes, go ahead. There is much
- 9:27Speaker 9: nervousness and confuse. I don't and then all of a
- 9:30Speaker 9: sudden the lights is on. It listen what then we
- 9:32Speaker 9: went on with the game. That's all I see.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Thank you Pixy, who've been a big hell? Oh that's okay.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I send pop Hilton then, are sure?
- 9:42Speaker 2: I am very happy to have made both your acquaintances.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Likewise, that was very informative, and this old Hilton guy
- 9:50Speaker 4: would be worse.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Who is he?
- 9:51Speaker 4: Commissioner the groundkeeper used to be a great pitcher of
- 9:54Speaker 4: years ago, un till he stopped the baseball at the
- 9:56Speaker 4: top of his head and a little bomby. Ever since
- 9:58Speaker 4: I seen come in.
- 10:02Speaker 2: You sent for me?
- 10:02Speaker 4: Yeah, certainly this is miss Lane and mister Cranston. You
- 10:08Speaker 4: probably like me to tell you about the murders, wouldn't
- 10:10Speaker 4: you and you shed any light on them? Light light
- 10:14Speaker 4: in darkness, there is light and in light darkness. Come on, Pop,
- 10:21Speaker 4: start talking riddles? Do you or don't you know anything?
- 10:23Speaker 10: Have you ever read Shelley, Commissioner, Western, I don't read
- 10:27Speaker 10: the sport pages, as Shelley was a poet.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Commissioner, Oh, a very fine poet.
- 10:33Speaker 10: Shelley once wrote the awful shadow of some unseen power floats,
- 10:41Speaker 10: though unseen amongst us. That's what you're dealing with, Commissioner.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I'm dealing with a murder case, and I've wasted enough
- 10:48Speaker 4: time on you.
- 10:49Speaker 2: That'll be all Pop, well as you wish, Commissioner.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Good day, an afternoon wasted not entirely What do you mean, Cston, Nothing,
- 10:59Speaker 4: we'll be running long to come on, Margo right.
- 11:01Speaker 7: Goodbye, Commissioner. I'll send you over a copy of Shelley
- 11:04Speaker 7: if you like. I mean the poet, not the sports writer.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Oh that's mighty nice. Thanks, goodbye.
- 11:11Speaker 8: What do you mean the month that the afternoon was
- 11:12Speaker 8: not entirely wasted?
- 11:14Speaker 2: The old man, Pop, Hilton, he knows something, do you
- 11:17Speaker 2: think so? I'm sure of it? And the shadow will
- 11:20Speaker 2: pay a call on the old boy at the baseball
- 11:22Speaker 2: park tonight.
- 11:34Speaker 8: The month.
- 11:35Speaker 7: I can't believe that this ball bark is the same
- 11:38Speaker 7: place that was full of cheering spectators last night.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yes, he is rather here, he isn't it, Margot? Those
- 11:45Speaker 2: rows and rows of empty seats.
- 11:47Speaker 8: Dessert is completely empty. It gives me the creeps. It
- 11:52Speaker 8: seemed almost haunted.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Maybe it is haunted, Margo, haunted by the ghosts of
- 11:57Speaker 2: great players, the games they've played.
- 12:00Speaker 8: Lamond. Look, I'll there on the plane for her. You
- 12:02Speaker 8: can see at the moonlight.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Oh what is it?
- 12:04Speaker 8: I don't know why it's moving.
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's a man.
- 12:09Speaker 8: Wouldn't be one of your ghosts.
- 12:11Speaker 2: No, it's old man Hilton, the ground keeper. He seems
- 12:15Speaker 2: to be very interested in something on the ground by
- 12:17Speaker 2: the pictures.
- 12:18Speaker 8: Ma'm the steel plate that kill Morrison.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yes, you wait here, Miggle. I think the shadow should
- 12:25Speaker 2: know what Hilton's up to. You won't be frightened here
- 12:28Speaker 2: alone with you?
- 12:29Speaker 11: No, No, go ahead, Lamon, I'll just sit down in
- 12:33Speaker 11: one of his empty seats.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it was clever, fiendishly clever. I quite agree with you,
- 12:49Speaker 2: mister Hilton. Hey did I hear someone speak? I spoke?
- 12:54Speaker 2: Who are you? I am known here's the shadow.
- 12:58Speaker 10: Shadow, shadow will come out where I can see you.
- 13:02Speaker 10: I'm standing right beside you, Hilton, beside me. Huh no,
- 13:07Speaker 10: there's no one beside me. Oh it's my mind. Plane
- 13:12Speaker 10: fix on me again.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Your mind is not deceiving you, Hilton. I have merely
- 13:17Speaker 2: clouded it so that you cannot see me. What do
- 13:19Speaker 2: you want? I was interested in your examination of that
- 13:23Speaker 2: steel plate. Oh, rather ingenious killing device, wouldn't you say?
- 13:28Speaker 10: Oh?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yes, yes, Do you know anything about these deaths, Hildan?
- 13:32Speaker 10: Of course we almost know something about death. Death has
- 13:39Speaker 10: a thousand doors from life, yes, of course.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And you know through which door Marson travel, don't you?
- 13:47Speaker 2: That's right? I do. Can you tell me who opened
- 13:52Speaker 2: that door for him? Well? I think I could. I
- 13:58Speaker 2: think I could come now, mister Hilton, I think it was. Uh.
- 14:05Speaker 6: You'll never find out now, mister Shadow, come.
- 14:09Speaker 8: Back, come back, the mother, the mother? You are right, yes,
- 14:15Speaker 8: But the old man, Hilton?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Is he? Oh? My lord, he's dead. The bullet passed
- 14:21Speaker 2: his head before he could reveal what he knew.
- 14:22Speaker 8: Then you didn't learn anything?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Oh yes I did, Marco, and the murderer will learn
- 14:27Speaker 2: something too. What do you mean the killer Margo heard
- 14:31Speaker 2: my shadow, but I saw his. Yes, what are you
- 14:55Speaker 2: doing here?
- 14:55Speaker 8: Do you think I'd have missed this? The moth say,
- 14:58Speaker 8: isn't that uniform a little large for you?
- 15:00Speaker 2: All right?
- 15:01Speaker 4: Now?
- 15:01Speaker 2: No ribs?
- 15:02Speaker 7: Well, just what's the idea of you're putting on that
- 15:04Speaker 7: uniform and becoming a member of the Eagles Baseball sea.
- 15:06Speaker 2: It's all in the line of duty, my suite. I
- 15:08Speaker 2: wanted to find out what goes on when they play
- 15:10Speaker 2: a game, and the best way I could think of
- 15:12Speaker 2: was to join the team.
- 15:13Speaker 8: Are you going to be in the game?
- 15:14Speaker 4: Hardly?
- 15:15Speaker 8: Oh what a pity.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I had trouble enough getting permissioned to sit on the bench.
- 15:18Speaker 7: Well, why are they playing in this park today? It's
- 15:20Speaker 7: the matter with the stadium we went to before.
- 15:22Speaker 2: They haven't used Eagle feels since the murders. Now, when
- 15:25Speaker 2: you excuse me there, I'm going down to the bench
- 15:27Speaker 2: and sit for the players.
- 15:28Speaker 7: Okay, hold him on, Yes, it is a tailor down there.
- 15:31Speaker 7: Had him taken those trouts?
- 15:33Speaker 6: Oh, come on, I'll not got a few.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Didn't I meet you go out of police headquarters?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yes, that's right, you're a Pixie Parker, aren't you?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Uh huh?
- 15:48Speaker 9: Are you might be becoming a member of this team
- 15:50Speaker 9: or sitting on the bench like this.
- 15:51Speaker 2: No, Pixie, if your manager's permission, I'm visiting here today.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Oh you're like officitor.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yes, that's right, I cat it.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Hey, Paul, go come here. I want you.
- 16:00Speaker 9: You should meet mister clans mister Clanston, and he's like
- 16:03Speaker 9: a bissity here today.
- 16:04Speaker 2: How do you do stud Hello, Bog Bogo is our
- 16:07Speaker 2: bat boy. Oh, yes, I've seen him on the field.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You're a good little ball player too, Bogo. Thanks, he
- 16:12Speaker 2: would be an even better ball player. For what's not
- 16:14Speaker 2: a connor? Here?
- 16:15Speaker 4: Is hunchback?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Got it?
- 16:16Speaker 4: Pitchy Sally, you never know that.
- 16:18Speaker 9: Me and Bogo is pals, the way he gets sore
- 16:20Speaker 9: at me sometimes.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Would you No, I'm sure your pals?
- 16:23Speaker 4: Hey?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Fix?
- 16:24Speaker 4: Yeah, get out there and warm up. You're pitching today?
- 16:27Speaker 4: No good? What do you mean? No good? I am
- 16:30Speaker 4: not working today. I am not in the mood. Now listen,
- 16:32Speaker 4: pix E. I have spoken well. I am still the
- 16:34Speaker 4: manager of this team. And I figure out mister Dowett
- 16:37Speaker 4: what he'll work today. I'll have him out dead in
- 16:40Speaker 4: a few minutes. I'll listen.
- 16:42Speaker 2: He'll pitch mister Dowt.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Heat better fine ball club where the manager has to
- 16:47Speaker 4: get the bat boy to convince the player to pitch. Bogo,
- 16:49Speaker 4: I don't care what you say. You don't listen to me.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Look, get me now, who's the greatest pitcher in baseball? Police? Hot?
- 17:00Speaker 4: Sami?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Hot Sami? I am you see all those people there
- 17:05Speaker 2: in the stands.
- 17:07Speaker 6: They're here for just one reason to see the great
- 17:10Speaker 6: Parker pitch.
- 17:11Speaker 2: That's right to point them by you. You're going to
- 17:15Speaker 2: give him them money's work, don't you.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Yeah, their money's worth good.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Come on, let's go out and warm up.
- 17:21Speaker 9: Whatever you say, Boco, whatever you say.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Mister Stewart. Yeah, it's this Bogo, always influnce, talking like that.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the only one who can do anything with him.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Bogo is like a little god to him.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That's strange.
- 17:38Speaker 1: There's a lot of strange things in baseball, mister Cranston.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Would you excuse me a second thing?
- 17:42Speaker 4: Sure?
- 17:42Speaker 2: Thanks?
- 17:46Speaker 8: Oh, I know they want you to play after all.
- 17:47Speaker 2: No, not be serious. I wish you do something for
- 17:50Speaker 2: me right away. But go up to the front office
- 17:52Speaker 2: and find out the home address of Pixie Parker.
- 17:55Speaker 8: Why, what's up?
- 17:56Speaker 2: He's going to receive a visit this evening from the Shadow.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Mister Parker. Mister Parker, what, mister Parker, I'd like to
- 18:14Speaker 2: talk to you.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Where are you? I don't see nobody.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I'm right here in this room with you. No, don't
- 18:20Speaker 2: look around for me. I am invisible to your eyes.
- 18:23Speaker 4: What is this spokes or something.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm not a spook pixie. I'm a flesh and blood human,
- 18:29Speaker 2: but I control your mind so that you can't see me.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Who are you?
- 18:32Speaker 2: Men? Call me the Shadow?
- 18:35Speaker 4: What do you want from me?
- 18:37Speaker 2: I'm seeking information information about your little friend Bogo Bogo.
- 18:42Speaker 4: What's the matter with Bogo? He ain't done nothing.
- 18:44Speaker 2: You're wrong, Packer. Bogo has done plenty.
- 18:47Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 18:48Speaker 2: I mean that I have reason to believe that Bogo
- 18:51Speaker 2: is responsible for the murders in the ballpark.
- 18:54Speaker 9: Ah, you're crazy. Boco wouldn't hurt nobody.
- 18:57Speaker 2: That's for your wrong Packer. Now tell me what is
- 19:00Speaker 2: this influence that he exerts over you. Influence, Yes, this
- 19:04Speaker 2: power to make you do just what he wants you to.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Well, he ain't got no power over me.
- 19:08Speaker 9: He just thinks I'm the greatest picture that ever was,
- 19:12Speaker 9: and the only time he ever gets saw is when
- 19:14Speaker 9: nobody agrees with that.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I see he's my power.
- 19:17Speaker 9: Why why just the other day he said he'd kill
- 19:20Speaker 9: any picture that people thought was better than me.
- 19:22Speaker 2: He's kill anybody.
- 19:26Speaker 4: No, oh no, no, he didn't mean nothing by that
- 19:30Speaker 4: to want it. You're no, he wouldn't hurte nobody. He's
- 19:33Speaker 4: just rooting for me, that's all. Why. Why if anything
- 19:36Speaker 4: was to happen to me, I think he died.
- 19:38Speaker 2: We'll give him a chance to prove that to Night Parker,
- 19:41Speaker 2: what do you mean you'll see, Parker, You'll see.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Mission no Westerns making Commissioner.
- 19:57Speaker 2: This is the Shadow but you again. Yes, I'm sorry
- 20:00Speaker 2: to bother you, but I believe that I have a
- 20:01Speaker 2: solution to your baseball murders.
- 20:03Speaker 4: What you have? Who did them?
- 20:05Speaker 2: I can't say for sure yet.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Oh now, look, Shadow, I'm a busy man.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I adn't. You must believe me. Here's what I want
- 20:13Speaker 2: you to do. Get every player that was in the
- 20:15Speaker 2: game the other night up to Eagle Field right away. Why.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I want you to restage the game and the murder
- 20:20Speaker 2: justice in the cut before. But I happened to know
- 20:24Speaker 2: about that electric plate that killed mass.
- 20:26Speaker 4: How did you find that?
- 20:27Speaker 2: Never mind. Here's an important detail. Don't allow Pixie Parker
- 20:32Speaker 2: to talk to anyone until I arrived.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Hey, who is supposed to be the police commission around here? Anyway?
- 20:38Speaker 2: You are, of course, commissioner. See you at the ballpark?
- 20:41Speaker 4: Well all that Murphy Murphy, Yes, sir, I just got
- 20:48Speaker 4: an idea, head Commissioner. Call all the players who were
- 20:51Speaker 4: in that game the other night, get them up to
- 20:53Speaker 4: the park. Yes, sir, I think I figured out a
- 20:56Speaker 4: solution to the murders. Had good work, Chief, thank you.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I wonder where that shadow is. I know what he
- 21:10Speaker 4: expects to find out here.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Good evening, Commissioner, Western, is that right where you are?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Sorry to be late for the ball game?
- 21:17Speaker 4: All right, Shadow, what do you want? What's this one
- 21:19Speaker 4: of your gay little pranks?
- 21:21Speaker 2: No, Commissioner, this is a very serious matter. No one
- 21:25Speaker 2: knows I'm here, but you is that right?
- 21:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Look, here's what I want you to do.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Now. Look, here's what I want you to do. Man,
- 21:37Speaker 4: listen to the Commissioner that we're going to replay the
- 21:39Speaker 4: events leading up to the crime exactly as they happened
- 21:42Speaker 4: the other night. Everyone take his position in the field.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Please follow that. Now, you have a complete team out there,
- 21:48Speaker 4: Commissioner Western, that is, except for a pitcher. I don't
- 21:51Speaker 4: want someone standing for the late mister Marson too. Get
- 21:53Speaker 4: Pixie Parking Okay, hey, Pixie, yeah, I'll be right with you.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Well, good evening, Commissioned Western. Why didn't you tell me
- 22:00Speaker 2: you're going to have this party? Margot and I wouldn't
- 22:03Speaker 2: want to miss this for the world. Here again, I grandson,
- 22:06Speaker 2: Good evening, Miss Lay.
- 22:07Speaker 7: Not a very cordial reception, Commissioner. What are you doing
- 22:09Speaker 7: giving up your job in the police force and becoming
- 22:11Speaker 7: a baseball player.
- 22:12Speaker 4: I'll look at you two. I don't to hear you
- 22:14Speaker 4: can stay it, but keep quiet. This is a very
- 22:16Speaker 4: serious job.
- 22:17Speaker 2: All right. We won't say your word.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Pixie Parker, Yes, sir, I'd like you to reenact Marson's
- 22:23Speaker 4: role in the game the other night. You mean I
- 22:25Speaker 4: should be standing in for a dead guy. There's no danger, Pixie.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Of course, if you're afraid.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Picks, Why poc you want them to think maybe I'm scared.
- 22:34Speaker 4: I don't care what that. They glad to hear someone else,
- 22:36Speaker 4: but I want Parker to do it both. I ain't
- 22:38Speaker 4: doing it. I said, he's doing it and that goes
- 22:41Speaker 4: I just that settles its Tempogo? Do you want to
- 22:44Speaker 4: should go out there?
- 22:45Speaker 8: Now?
- 22:45Speaker 4: Has Pixy? Now? Okay, where are you going? Bogo? Well,
- 22:49Speaker 4: I've gone back to the clubhouse.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I'm not gonna watch my pal play at dead man.
- 22:53Speaker 2: You'd better stay here?
- 22:54Speaker 4: What stay here? Bogo? Stick with him?
- 22:56Speaker 2: I mean, what is if you guys can't kick me around?
- 22:59Speaker 4: Missus Stewart? Did you tell a man to put out
- 23:01Speaker 4: the flood lights? Touch as it did the other night?
- 23:02Speaker 4: As commissioner get out there on the pitcher's mom Pixie, Okay,
- 23:06Speaker 4: I want you to wind up just the way Marson

- 23:11Speaker 4: Pitty? Shut up? You ready? Parker? Pitchy? Pitchy know to
- 23:15Speaker 4: be electrocuted? How did you know he'd be electrical? At Bogan?

- 23:23Speaker 4: I don't know what made me say ratis. I don't
- 23:25Speaker 4: I know what made you say it. You said it

- 23:29Speaker 4: want to Parker get out in the Pitcher's mouth and
- 23:31Speaker 4: Why did you want to leave here? Because you wanted
- 23:33Speaker 4: to turn off the current so that Parker wouldn't be
- 23:35Speaker 4: electrict like marshmall No, and why why?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Perhaps I can tell you why, Commissioner, Because in Bogo's
- 23:41Speaker 2: own mind, he is Parker.
- 23:43Speaker 4: You're crazy.
- 23:44Speaker 10: No.
- 23:44Speaker 2: All your life you've wanted to be a great ball player,
- 23:47Speaker 2: but you couldn't be, Bogo. You couldn't be because of
- 23:49Speaker 2: your handicap. When Parker came along, at last, you'd found
- 23:52Speaker 2: someone to whom you could transfer that desire, someone with
- 23:55Speaker 2: a mind sufficiently childly to obey your wishes. You began
- 23:58Speaker 2: to imagine that you were Parker. You are right, Bob,
- 24:02Speaker 2: sure s Parker. Then your ego took hold. You became
- 24:06Speaker 2: jealous of anyone who's fame might out do yours, yours
- 24:08Speaker 2: and Parkers. And that jealous he made you murder White
- 24:11Speaker 2: he Brooks and the Crossman and ed.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Mar didn't I kill Alliver? That's through your simpleton.

- 24:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Commissioner, I didn't mean to take over your job.
- 24:32Speaker 2: The excitement must have gotten all right. Put the cups
- 24:35Speaker 2: on him, having call me. Look up, he's got a gun.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Done.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Move here you I'm getting out of this post.
