• 4:50
Speaker 4: with as well. Mike, I'm gonna start with you growing
• 4:54
Speaker 4: up as a kid of a boy, growing up as
• 4:57
  Speaker 4: a what as a kid of a boy. That's that's
• 4:59
Speaker 4: an express my grandpa used to use of a boy
• 5:02
Speaker 4: as a kid of a boy.
• 5:03
  Speaker 7: I always a cute little boy. So I don't understand
• 5:05
Speaker 7: kid of a boy I was. You know, I was
• 5:07
Speaker 7: brought up. I was a kid of of of my
• 5:09
Speaker 7: parents were grown up. We're already started, We're already started.
• 5:14
Speaker 7: All right, I'm sorry, I promised. All right, But tell
• 5:17
Speaker 7: me what the holiday season was like for.
• 5:18
  Speaker 12: You growing up?
• 5:19
Speaker 7: Well it was. I mean, it's a little bit different
• 5:21
Speaker 7: because you know, I'm Jewish, so we celebrated Hanukah, which
• 5:26
Speaker 7: you know, the gifts aren't aren't you know, aren't great.
• 5:29
Speaker 7: You know, you think they already have eight days of gifts,
• 5:31
Speaker 7: but they're like they were very overly practical gifts.
• 5:33
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 5:34
Speaker 7: It's like, you know, like a new pair of pants
• 5:37
Speaker 7: or you know, winter coat, which I mean, I'm I'm
• 5:39
Speaker 7: grateful for that winter coat. But you know, we didn't
• 5:42
Speaker 7: get the more the flashier gifts often so but no,
• 5:45
Speaker 7: it was great. I mean it's uh. I always liked
• 5:48
Speaker 7: being out of school. That was always good, and I
• 5:51
Speaker 7: enjoy other people having fun.
• 5:53
Speaker 4: So and as a kid liked the holiday.
• 5:55
  Speaker 11: It's great.
• 5:55
Speaker 4: As a kid of the seventies, like like I am,
• 5:58
Speaker 4: you and I actually born in the same year. I
• 6:00
Speaker 4: will point out you're older than I am. Uh So,
• 6:02
Speaker 4: what you're saying is is the big toys back in
• 6:04
Speaker 4: those days. It was the Evil can Eevil stuff, and
• 6:07
Speaker 4: it was the Bonic Man and the Star Wars stuff
• 6:09
  Speaker 4: just wasn't what.
• 6:10
Speaker 7: Wasn't what you know what I mean, I did you
• 6:13
Speaker 7: know there was one night like where you got gifts
• 6:15
Speaker 7: like that to be fair and because everybody you know, said,
• 6:18
Speaker 7: oh you're so lucky, you had eight nights of gifts,
• 6:19
Speaker 7: but a lot of those were just fillert material.
• 6:22
Speaker 11: It was like more like back to school.
• 6:24
Speaker 4: At some point you're getting you're getting a bag of
• 6:25
  Speaker 4: lace potato chips.
• 6:26
Speaker 7: But yeah, you're going to getting great stuff every night.
• 6:29
Speaker 7: But I did have uh you brought up the Evil
• 6:32
Speaker 7: can Eevl thing, and that was everybody's favorite toy, uh,
• 6:35
Speaker 7: you know in the seventies because it was just so durable.
• 6:39
Speaker 4: It was the crap out like, yeah, apparently fascinating guy.
• 6:43
Speaker 4: By the way, we can spend on an entire show
• 6:44
Speaker 4: to should do a whole show on an Evil can.
• 6:46
Speaker 4: I had the bike, you know, I had the the
• 6:49
Speaker 4: white the bike. As a kid, I had, I had
• 6:51
  Speaker 4: the bike.
• 6:51
Speaker 11: You can never complete the stunts like when the commercial,
• 6:53
Speaker 11: It just never landed.
• 6:55
Speaker 4: I tried. That's the probably why I am the way
• 6:57
Speaker 4: I am now because I hit my head on more
• 6:58
Speaker 4: than one occasion. I like, we should want to talk
• 7:00
Speaker 4: about the holiday season or whatever you want to talk about.
• 7:03
Speaker 4: Tell us about elation.
• 7:05
  Speaker 13: Yeah.
• 7:05
Speaker 9: So I'm a mom, so my life is centered around
• 7:08
Speaker 9: making a child very happy for her holiday. But yeah,
• 7:12
Speaker 9: I'm a teacher too, so I use this time to
• 7:14
  Speaker 9: kind of hibernate.
• 7:16
Speaker 4: Okay, that's amazing, nothing wrong with that, Tony the Taylor.
• 7:19
Speaker 4: I'm going to bring you in to talk about. So
• 7:21
Speaker 4: just some of your your your holiday memories. What was
• 7:23
Speaker 4: it like for you growing.
• 7:24
Speaker 14: Up, well, growing up in Italian and East End. If
• 7:27
Speaker 14: you've seen the movie The Feast of Seven Fishes, which
• 7:30
Speaker 14: is set in Clarksburg, West Virginia, not unlike that, Christmas
• 7:35
Speaker 14: Eve is the big Christmas day in the neighborhood across
• 7:40
Speaker 14: the street. A bunch of talies lived in our neighborhood,
• 7:42
Speaker 14: and I would cook and make cookies from Thanksgiving on
• 7:47
Speaker 14: and we would just celebrate.
• 7:48
Speaker 4: It was just a just a great.
• 7:49
Speaker 14: Time to grow up. And the just everybody's faith and
• 7:56
Speaker 14: it was just great. And the kids in the neighborhood
• 7:58
Speaker 14: and then you wake up Christmas morning and Santa Claus
• 8:00
Speaker 14: had brought you know, my evil. I had evil too,
• 8:03
Speaker 14: Probably don't have it somewhere in a basement, because those
• 8:06
Speaker 14: things never die, just like evil and evil.
• 8:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he's still around somewhere. Uh, coop, what about you?
• 8:12
Speaker 11: What about man? Christmas? For me right now, it's it's
• 8:15
Speaker 11: really it's something else. I'm fifty years old. I turned
• 8:17
Speaker 11: fifty this year, but I have a six year old daughter.
• 8:19
Speaker 11: So for me, I have a bunch of old men
• 8:23
Speaker 11: without daughter Christmas practices that my wife and I had
• 8:26
Speaker 11: for years, and that I had for years before I
• 8:28
Speaker 11: met my wife. And so it has been a revolution,
• 8:32
Speaker 11: a revelation to add a six year old's perspective, or
• 8:35
Speaker 11: you know, progressively from an infant to a six year old.
• 8:37
Speaker 11: It's now the perfect age for Christmas for her. She's
• 8:40
Speaker 11: an inquisitive and an intelligent kid, and we're always trying
• 8:43
Speaker 11: to hide the presence and get through the things, and
• 8:46
Speaker 11: she's just an amazing thing. That's really changed my appreciation
• 8:49
Speaker 11: of Christmas all over again as an adults, as an
• 8:52
Speaker 11: older adult now, because I see it all through her
• 8:54
Speaker 11: eyes and it's pretty much everything is for her. On Christmas. Now,
• 8:57
Speaker 11: it's like my wife and I exchange a couple of things.
• 9:00
Speaker 11: We throw, we get it out of the way, and
• 9:01
Speaker 11: then we just let the kid have the day.
• 9:03
Speaker 4: Tex says, Evil can Eevil is dead. Yeah, we're aware
• 9:06
  Speaker 4: he is now.
• 9:07
Speaker 11: Nature eventually got him.
• 9:08
Speaker 4: He's a live in my basement. All right, Tony, you
• 9:12
Speaker 4: got a text here? Tex says, would it be seven
• 9:15
Speaker 4: fish not seven fishes?
• 9:18
Speaker 14: Possibly? I guess as long as we have seven, seven
• 9:21
Speaker 14: is the key number.
• 9:22
Speaker 11: I always always rely on the Godfather when it comes
• 9:24
Speaker 11: to things like that, and it's swimming with the fishes, right,
• 9:26
Speaker 11: so so it must.
• 9:28
Speaker 4: Be we We don't tell Godfather jokes around. Tony's very
• 9:35
Speaker 4: culturally insensitive. We don't do that, all right, rich rich lindsay.
• 9:41
Speaker 4: And by the way, he's about to be judge. Rich lindsay, Yes,
• 9:45
Speaker 4: all right, so talk about So are you judge elected
• 9:49
Speaker 4: at this point? Is that is that the official title?
• 9:51
  Speaker 7: No?
• 9:51
  Speaker 12: Judge?
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: I was.
• 9:52
Speaker 4: Have you already been sworn in?
• 9:53
  Speaker 5: Yes?
• 9:53
Speaker 10: Okay, so there's going to be a ceremony in January.
• 9:56
Speaker 10: I was sworn in officially about a week ago. But
• 10:00
Speaker 10: as Christmas, as far as a Christmas memory, I'm kind
• 10:02
Speaker 10: of like Tony, to the extent that a lot of food.
• 10:06
Speaker 10: My grandmother Mama made food for three or four days beforehand.
• 10:10
Speaker 10: We had ham on Christmas Eve, we had a big breakfast.
• 10:13
Speaker 10: The next day. We had a big turkey dinner that
• 10:16
Speaker 10: evening Christmas Day or Christmas night day night. A lot
• 10:19
Speaker 10: of chocolates and cookies. I used to eat a dozen
• 10:21
  Speaker 10: at a time.
• 10:22
Speaker 4: What do you mean, what do you mean used to?
• 10:24
Speaker 6: No, No, I had to.
• 10:26
Speaker 4: I mean I've had lunch with you, Rich I've seen it.
• 10:29
Speaker 4: You know, I've seen I've seen it in the past.
• 10:30
Speaker 4: But we want to say, you know, thank you to
• 10:33
Speaker 4: you for a green to sponsor of the show today.
• 10:35
Speaker 4: I mean, I guess is And by the way, if
• 10:37
Speaker 4: you're tuning in expecting that you're going to hear a
• 10:39
Speaker 4: professional radio show, well you wouldn't be listening to my
• 10:41
Speaker 4: show to begin with anyway, but probably not today because
• 10:44
Speaker 4: it's going to be very, very informal. We've got doors
• 10:46
Speaker 4: propped up, and we've got musicians in the studio. And
• 10:48
Speaker 4: I do want to remind you that Todave Island Show

• 14:49
Speaker 4: It's been real hectic here this past week again we

Speaker 4: had we lost a week by the calendar, which is

• 15:09
Speaker 4: for a long time, you and your family here in Charleston.
• 15:11
Speaker 4: Give us the brief history of brief history.
• 15:15
Speaker 14: My dad started nineteen seventy four as a tailor shop
• 15:17
Speaker 14: on Summer Street, and we just grew, grew and grew.
• 15:22
Speaker 14: We had a very large store on Chourier Street back
• 15:24
Speaker 14: in the heyday of Charleston, back in the nineties and
• 15:28
Speaker 14: early two thousands. And then after he passed, we changed
• 15:32
Speaker 14: my business model a little bit to downscale it and
• 15:35
Speaker 14: sold my buildings, moved to back to my roots of
• 15:38
Speaker 14: just being a tailor, and then that has grown back
• 15:41
Speaker 14: into we're the probably the largest store in West Virginia,
• 15:44
Speaker 14: one of the largest in them in Atlantic now.
• 15:46
Speaker 4: And you do these trunk shows that are very very popular.
• 15:49
Speaker 4: Would you basically take the show on the road?
• 15:51
  Speaker 5: Man?
• 15:51
  Speaker 4: You go everywhere?
• 15:52
Speaker 14: Yeap, just came back right before Christmas, did Knoxville, Atlanta,
• 15:56
Speaker 14: and Charlotte, and I go to Miami, It'sburgh, Columbus, d C.
• 16:01
Speaker 14: I travel all over the East coast here and sometimes
• 16:04
Speaker 14: fly to the West coast to visit clients.
• 16:07
Speaker 4: Talk about the changes that you had seen in the
• 16:10
Speaker 4: I mean, because over the last couple of years there
• 16:13
Speaker 4: has been so many changes in because you do we
• 16:15
Speaker 4: we say on the show, the Westernrginians find this men's store,
• 16:18
Speaker 4: and obviously you specialize and all different kinds of of
• 16:21
Speaker 4: sports wear, but you also have the quote unquote dress
• 16:25
Speaker 4: up kind of clothes. Uh so, but there's been a
• 16:28
Speaker 4: big change in the in the attire at work over
• 16:31
Speaker 4: the last few years. Talk about that there has.
• 16:33
Speaker 14: This casualization, uh, you know, work from home and working remotely,
• 16:37
Speaker 14: which is actually switching back to offices as we see
• 16:40
Speaker 14: as happening has Uh you know the zoom meetings and
• 16:45
Speaker 14: all everybody has a suit coat on and no pants on. Well,
• 16:48
Speaker 14: you pretty much have to wear pants anymore. You go outside.
• 16:51
Speaker 11: A lot of pants.
• 16:52
Speaker 14: You should, but uh, you know, I'm on my seventh
• 16:55
Speaker 14: death of the suit. Nobody's gonna wear a suit anymore.
• 16:57
Speaker 14: This is my seventh go round on that. Still our
• 17:00
Speaker 14: biggest selling category are suits.
• 17:02
Speaker 7: So Tony, this is this is Mike over with the
• 17:05

• 17:14
  Speaker 14: would underwear fantastic?
• 17:16
Speaker 4: God, here we go. Anytime that you get to Tony
• 17:19

• 17:38
Speaker 4: The shoes that I have on came from Tony the Tailor.
• 17:42
Speaker 4: I don't know about the underwear though, I think my
• 17:43
Speaker 4: wife just picked that up like a big loser.
• 17:46
Speaker 10: Well, you know, Tony is so good. He makes Dave
• 17:49
Speaker 10: look good. With y close to im possible.

• 18:04
Speaker 8: Taylor within the last year and a half. And I've
• 18:07
Speaker 8: always bought online what we're pretty high quality clothing. I
• 18:12
Speaker 8: had never had bespoke made suits and sport coach before
• 18:17
Speaker 8: and it's not all that much more expensive. But man,
• 18:20
Speaker 8: they are so much better. And those guys do a
• 18:22
Speaker 8: nice job on their suits they make.
• 18:24
Speaker 11: And thank you, Steve.
• 18:26
Speaker 4: I appreciate that, all right, Steve, We appreciate you coming.
• 18:28
Speaker 4: Thanks so like, go ahead, no, go ahead.
• 18:30
  Speaker 8: No, no, I just I can't go. I can't recommend
• 18:33
Speaker 8: you enough. And it's not really that much more expensive
• 18:36
Speaker 8: to have something made, custom made, all.
• 18:38
Speaker 4: Right, thank you, So Steve, appreciate your phone call. See
• 18:40
Speaker 4: there's another happy Tony the Tailor customer that was not
• 18:44
Speaker 4: even a paid testomer. No, no, not at all. But
• 18:47
Speaker 4: there is a difference though, because you know, in having
• 18:50
Speaker 4: something as you said, Taylor made and having good quality, yeah,
• 18:53
Speaker 4: you're going to pay a little bit more for it,
• 18:55
Speaker 4: but it's also going to last you a lot longer.
• 18:57
Speaker 14: Tony, the dollar value is extreme one of those.
• 19:00
Speaker 4: And indeed, but Dave Island showing five Ady Line Brown

• 19:18
Speaker 4: go ahead and ask you the question that everybody wants
• 19:20
Speaker 4: to ask. What are you gonna wear under the road?
• 19:22
Speaker 10: Please say something, Tony the Taylor tie suit, shoes. That's
• 19:28
Speaker 10: what I'm wearing. So in fact, I've got to go
• 19:30
Speaker 10: see him in January because I start, I think on
• 19:32
Speaker 10: January the second, So I got to make a quick stop.
• 19:34
Speaker 4: Oka says, I think I start January second. Shouldn't you
• 19:36
  Speaker 4: know that?
• 19:37
Speaker 9: Rich? Well, no, I do.
• 19:38
Speaker 10: I start January the second, But I want to keep
• 19:40
Speaker 10: your listeners on their feet. I guess I don't know.
• 19:42
Speaker 4: I'll tell you the quick Rich Lindsay story. Rich and
• 19:44
Speaker 4: I knew each other sort of kind of but didn't
• 19:46
Speaker 4: that well. One day on the air, I don't know what,
• 19:49
Speaker 4: somebody sent a text or something about it was the grill,
• 19:52
Speaker 4: right Rich, that was the grill or the Smokehouse. Smokeout,
• 19:56
Speaker 4: smoke out about the Smokehouse. And I said on the
• 20:00
Speaker 4: air that I had never eaten at the Smokehouse in Charleston.
• 20:03
Speaker 4: Rich didn't know him that well at the time. Gets
• 20:05
Speaker 4: a hold of me and says, I want to take
• 20:07
Speaker 4: you to lunch there at the Smokehouse. And that was
• 20:10
Speaker 4: a very very nice gesture. I think I had to
• 20:11
Speaker 4: pay for it, but still no, actually he paid for it.
• 20:15
Speaker 4: You introduced me to that and and I am forever
• 20:19
Speaker 4: grateful for that. Thank you, sir.
• 20:20
Speaker 10: That's a great spot here in Charleston, all time spot.
• 20:23
Speaker 10: Mike does good work down there.
• 20:25
  Speaker 5: It is.
• 20:25
Speaker 4: And you know, I can easily turn this show into
• 20:27
Speaker 4: a food show, which I'm not going to do, but
• 20:29
Speaker 4: I will tell you Charleston and I you know, Chef
• 20:33
Speaker 4: Paul is a regular on the show. He's regular with
• 20:34
Speaker 4: coopan weekly in the afternoon, does a fantastic job with
• 20:37
Speaker 4: the food here in Charleston. And Tony you know that
• 20:39
Speaker 4: Tony the Taylor your a food guy.
• 20:41
  Speaker 11: Like I am.
• 20:41
Speaker 4: We got some fantastic eating establishments here in Charleston.
• 20:44
Speaker 14: Amazing, I mean amazing culinary skills here in some places
• 20:48
Speaker 14: you don't even know that. You don't even know they
• 20:49
Speaker 14: have great food until we actually go in there and eat.
• 20:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm glad to see that the folks have opened
• 20:53
Speaker 4: up the Courrier Diner again and had lunch there a
• 20:55
Speaker 4: couple of weeks ago. And I'm very glad to see
• 20:58
Speaker 4: that that's opened again. That's because that was an iconic
• 21:00
Speaker 4: spot for you Charleston folks. That was a very iconic spot.
• 21:02
Speaker 11: Yeah, I thought this out for for folks that are looking.
• 21:05
  Speaker 11: I hadn't. I hadn't been to Groove yet since it
• 21:07
Speaker 11: reopened and rebranded not that long ago. And we were
• 21:10
Speaker 11: out there for the parade and the Charles and Christmas Parade,
• 21:13
Speaker 11: and I took my whole family that includes my seventy
• 21:15
Speaker 11: two year old mother and my six year old daughter
• 21:16
Speaker 11: across the street. Mom. Downtown nine o'clock on a Tuesday
• 21:20
Speaker 11: night was pretty amazing last week. Although it's more of
• 21:23
Speaker 11: a bar atmosphere, they took care of us really wonderfully.
• 21:26
Speaker 11: It was fantastic service, great food, just as a casual

Speaker 4: That's awesome. It's awesome again. Tony the Taylor's with us,
• 22:28
Speaker 4: Elisha is here, Mike Pushkin is here. Do you want
• 22:30
Speaker 4: to go and get the song? Rity now, yeah, let's
• 22:32
Speaker 4: do it. Okay, So we're going to be entertained now
• 22:35
Speaker 4: by the musical stylings of Alisha and Mike Pushkin.
• 22:38
Speaker 7: Go ahead, I'd like to dedicate the song. Bear with
• 22:41
Speaker 7: me for a second. I've got the unhappy news that
• 22:43
Speaker 7: one of your avid listeners, missus Maddel and Lipscomb, who
• 22:48
Speaker 7: kept her radio glued to this station, listened to all
• 22:51
Speaker 7: the shows here but especially yours day, that she unexpectedly
• 22:55
Speaker 7: passed away last week. And this is a you know,
• 22:57
Speaker 7: it's a tough time for her family. Of course, it's
• 22:59
Speaker 7: you know, it's the holidays, and a lot of us
• 23:01
Speaker 7: know what it feels like to lose a loved one
• 23:03
Speaker 7: during the holidays. So I just want to dedicate this
• 23:05
Speaker 7: to the memory of Madeline and her family if they're listening,
• 23:09
Speaker 7: So your love, do you reach out to somebody if
• 23:11
Speaker 7: you need to talk. But you know, oftentimes we lose
• 23:15
Speaker 7: a loved one during the holidays, it can be rough.
• 23:17
Speaker 4: Okay, Oh yeah, I appreciate that. And the thoughts of
• 23:20
Speaker 4: prayers go out to her family. Yeah, it's battling.
• 23:22
  Speaker 18: Lipscomb had.
• 24:38
  Speaker 13: Unity.
• 24:42
  Speaker 19: Think the.
• 24:52
Speaker 13: Money God, mister marry gentlemen have nothing nes me. Remember
• 25:25
Speaker 13: Christ started seeing you was born on Christmas.
• 25:29
Speaker 20: Dave to save us, solve the saves power when we
• 25:33
Speaker 20: will know straight hidings of com and joy, comfort and joy.
• 25:42
Speaker 13: Tie, hidings of come over and.
• 25:55
Speaker 4: Think, could you guys apply over there a little bit
• 25:57
Speaker 4: so we have a little bit noise over here.
• 26:00
  Speaker 11: Sorry about that?
• 26:01
Speaker 4: Was fantastic, fantastic Lesia. I gotta ask you. I mean,
• 26:05
Speaker 4: you are a phenomenal musician. I mean I've seen you
• 26:08
Speaker 4: play many many times in the past. You're a fantastic musician.
• 26:11
Speaker 4: What point in your life did you start playing?
• 26:14
Speaker 9: I actually started in grade school. The West Virginia Symphony
• 26:17
Speaker 9: did a big project where they went into the elementary
• 26:19
Speaker 9: schools trying to get more string players, especially in the
• 26:22
Speaker 9: Appalachian regions, and it worked for me. I actually wanted
• 26:26
Speaker 9: to play cello, but it was too heavy to carry
• 26:28
  Speaker 9: home every day.
• 26:29
Speaker 4: What was it though, I mean, you said you wanted
• 26:31
Speaker 4: to play cello, but what was it about the stringed instruments?
• 26:34
  Speaker 4: I guess I don't know.
• 26:36
Speaker 9: I was watching a string quartet play. I was nine
• 26:38
Speaker 9: years old, and I just felt like this feeling in
• 26:41
Speaker 9: my body like I have to do that, Like I
• 26:44
Speaker 9: just I can't even explain it to this day. It
• 26:46
Speaker 9: just felt like, Oh, here's the universe telling you what
• 26:49
Speaker 9: you're going to do.
• 26:50
  Speaker 8: With your life.
• 26:50
  Speaker 13: There you go.
• 26:51
Speaker 4: Are our kids? We hear so much about kids not
• 26:56
Speaker 4: getting involved in things. And it's not just the arts.
• 26:58
Speaker 4: I mean, we don't even numbers are down across the board.
• 27:01
Speaker 4: But and you mentioned that you're that you're a mommy
• 27:03
Speaker 4: your kids interested in music.
• 27:05
Speaker 9: Well, I've made her Yeah, and she plays viola because
• 27:10
Speaker 9: she doesn't want to be a violinist.
• 27:12
  Speaker 11: Like her mom.
• 27:13
Speaker 9: She wants to be dumb.
• 27:14
Speaker 4: Question, what's the difference?
• 27:15
Speaker 9: Viola is like a bigger violin, but it's tuned like
• 27:17
Speaker 9: a cello, so it has a C string instead of
• 27:19
  Speaker 9: a high E string.
• 27:21
Speaker 4: But I mean, are you involved in things? And Mike
• 27:23
Speaker 4: kewayness as well to try to get young people in general,
• 27:26
Speaker 4: whether you're a kid or not involved in stuff?
• 27:28
  Speaker 8: Oh my gosh.
• 27:28
Speaker 9: Yeah, and even children seeing me out perform. Because I
• 27:31
Speaker 9: perform everywhere in town in different settings, I will often
• 27:35
Speaker 9: get calls being like my kid wants to learn the violin,
• 27:38
Speaker 9: can you show them? They sell you playing. That's actually
• 27:41
Speaker 9: how I attract so many private students, and I can't
• 27:44
Speaker 9: even take them all because I have a day job.
• 27:46
Speaker 7: Yeah, I say, we learned the difference between a viola
• 27:49
Speaker 7: and a violin, but you know the difference between a fiddle.
• 27:52
Speaker 4: Uh, it's geographic where you're from.
• 27:55
Speaker 11: So you can spill beer on a fiddle. I got it.
• 27:59
Speaker 4: Plays violin play by so much, but you also play
• 28:03
Speaker 4: I mean, you know again, I am a non musician.
• 28:07
Speaker 4: I play music on the radio and half for thirty
• 28:09
Speaker 4: six years. I'm a non musician. Okay, but I know
• 28:11
Speaker 4: what I like, and there's certain instants that I like,
• 28:13
Speaker 4: and it seemed to me that at one point of
• 28:15
Speaker 4: violin in that particular song suddenly became a fiddle. Is
• 28:18
Speaker 4: that Is that possible?
• 28:19
  Speaker 21: It is.
• 28:20
  Speaker 9: It's just called a genre. So there's there's a musical
• 28:23
Speaker 9: scale for every style.
• 28:24
Speaker 4: Okay, I believe I've got Brian will send you across
• 28:27
Speaker 4: the hall over there. Just pump Brian hughes mineorologists Brian
• 28:31
Speaker 4: Hughesman storm tracker thirteen to just push Tony out of
• 28:33
Speaker 4: the way. That's fine.
• 28:36
  Speaker 12: Job.
• 28:36
  Speaker 4: I don't think it's Mike is I don't think his
• 28:38
Speaker 4: Mike's on hell is there? It is test Okay, all right, Brian,
• 28:44
  Speaker 4: all right.
• 28:44
Speaker 22: So I just I just got down with Steve Animal.
• 28:47
Speaker 18: What do you explain?
• 28:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, a mineorologist Brian Hughes, who, by the way,
• 28:50
Speaker 4: is going to be on the show on Thursday, because
• 28:53
Speaker 4: we're gonna do like a little winter weather preview. We
• 28:56
Speaker 4: got we got a rainy Christmas here, Brian. I know
• 28:59
Speaker 4: I'm not going to have you specifically talk about the
• 29:01
Speaker 4: weather the whole time, but we got rain here, but
• 29:03
Speaker 4: north of here it's creating some travel issues from what
• 29:05
  Speaker 4: I understand.
• 29:06
Speaker 22: Listen, there's there's been issues up in the mountains with
• 29:09
Speaker 22: a little bit of snow. But for us, listen, it sprinkles,
• 29:11
Speaker 22: it's chilled. But clouds today for Santa. Santa comes by
• 29:15
Speaker 22: like eleven thirtyty five ish, So clouds are sanding at tomorrow,
• 29:19
Speaker 22: clouds all day, and yeah it's dreary.
• 29:22
  Speaker 11: It's fine.
• 29:22
Speaker 22: Actually, I prefer Christmas to be cloudy rather than sunny.
• 29:26
Speaker 4: Okay, now why is that?
• 29:27
Speaker 22: I don't know, It's just because you know, who needs
• 29:30
Speaker 22: the sunshine on Christmas?
• 29:31
  Speaker 4: That's a good point.
• 29:32
Speaker 22: We've been watching Netflix.
• 29:35
Speaker 4: You're gonna watch the NFL tomorrow. It is going to
• 29:37
Speaker 4: be on Netflix. You're gonna have to get an in
• 29:38
  Speaker 4: flat net.
• 29:39
Speaker 22: Watching this whole thing about Netflix, and they did not
• 29:43
Speaker 22: do a full tilt test. They've been testing quietly. But
• 29:47
Speaker 22: Amazon and NBC offered up their servers for the games,
• 29:52
Speaker 22: and they turned them down and said, no, we think
• 29:54
  Speaker 22: we got this.
• 29:55
Speaker 11: Okay, the Paul twice and Flight indicated that they maybe
• 29:59
Speaker 11: are ready. So it's gonna be interesting to see what
• 30:01
Speaker 11: happens because there's a lot of streaming issues with US.
• 30:03
Speaker 22: It's gonna be well. They have asked comcasts, Verizon, you
• 30:07
Speaker 22: know the Exfinity stuff, Charter, They've asked for extra bandwidth
• 30:11
Speaker 22: for that day and they are going to allocate extra bandwidth.
• 30:13
Speaker 22: But like sixty percent of the traffic on Christmas, they're
• 30:16
Speaker 22: expecting to be sixty to sixty five percent is going
• 30:19
Speaker 22: to be NFL on Netflix.
• 30:20
Speaker 4: Okay, Uh, talk about Christmas growing up for you? You're
• 30:22
Speaker 4: a Texas guy, right, yeah, all right, what was Christmas
• 30:25
  Speaker 4: like for you?
• 30:26
  Speaker 9: Well?
• 30:29
Speaker 22: I didn't talk about this on TV this morning.
• 30:31
Speaker 4: I didn't know this was going to become a therapy
• 30:32
Speaker 4: session for all over.
• 30:35
Speaker 22: I will tell you it was my my family, especially
• 30:38
Speaker 22: my mother's side, horrible people.
• 30:40
Speaker 4: Okay, colectively very good, very good.
• 30:43
Speaker 22: So my uh, my mother and my aunt where they're
• 30:46
Speaker 22: at Christmas, life goes great. My grandmother's great cook, grandfather awesome,
• 30:51
Speaker 22: and they start arguing and fighting back and forth.
• 30:54
  Speaker 11: Nice.
• 30:54
Speaker 22: And then next tea, I pray pretty close. I believe
• 30:58
Speaker 22: me this side of the family, they're not the other
• 31:00
Speaker 22: side awesome. But all of a sudden they start arguing
• 31:03
Speaker 22: back and forth. And we're there at the dinner table.
• 31:06
  Speaker 22: It's lunchtime. You know, it's twelve one o'clock. They're arguing,
• 31:09
Speaker 22: backing for next to you know, my mother picks up
• 31:12
Speaker 22: a cookie and throws it at my aunt. My ant
• 31:15
Speaker 22: picks up green beans and throws them back, and the
• 31:17
Speaker 22: next you know, they're starting to throw food back and
• 31:19
Speaker 22: forth across the table. This is a beautiful dining room,
• 31:23
Speaker 22: I mean china like you wouldn't believe. Hold on, yards,
• 31:26
Speaker 22: my grandfather, he picks up biscuits onto his plate, throws
• 31:30
Speaker 22: him at both of him, yells at him and said,
• 31:32
Speaker 22: if you don't stop this, you're both out of here,
• 31:35
Speaker 22: and we're keeping the grandkids.
• 31:37
Speaker 4: Well, because nothing says birth of our Savior quite like
• 31:40
Speaker 4: flying green beans, right. I mean I heard parent Zino
• 31:46
Speaker 4: say that you could have been Italian. Let me tell
• 31:47
Speaker 4: you something. You could have been southern West Virginia too,
• 31:49
Speaker 4: because them's my people right there.
• 31:52
Speaker 22: Those are the Christmases I experienced. I finally got away
• 31:55
Speaker 22: from that. So now it's just a dog in me.
• 31:56
Speaker 4: Okay, Now are we gonna we gonna have the thing
• 31:59
Speaker 4: that with the with the boson on TV?
• 32:01
Speaker 22: It's a KADH Christmas eleven o'clock tonight on thirteen News,
• 32:05
Speaker 22: so you can eleven o'clock, we're giving everybody off, you know,
• 32:08
Speaker 22: unless the world ends and we'll be in there. But
• 32:10
Speaker 22: hopefully that will happen. So it's just American Airlin shutting
• 32:13
Speaker 22: down the air system. But no at eleven o'clock tonight,
• 32:17
Speaker 22: Boston sitting but sitting in front of electric fireplace on
• 32:20
