- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome back to the Almost Famous podcast. Today
- 0:08Speaker 2: I am joined by one of my best friends, Jade Tolbert.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Hey Dreed. Hello.
- 0:14Speaker 2: So we thought that'd be fun since Ben couldn't be
- 0:17Speaker 2: on the pod today, to have you come on, because
- 0:19Speaker 2: we just had a great, really impromptu week at the
- 0:23Speaker 2: Backshe Boys concert in Vegas at the Sphere.
- 0:26Speaker 3: It was the best time.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and Jade had texted
- 0:31Speaker 2: me legit like six days before I left, and she
- 0:36Speaker 2: was like, Hey, we should do a girl's trip to
- 0:38Speaker 2: Vegas for Backshoop Boys. I was like, well, I actually
- 0:42Speaker 2: am going on to the Sunday show and I think
- 0:44Speaker 2: I might have an extra ticket and she was like,
- 0:48Speaker 2: let me ask Tanner if he'll watch the kids for
- 0:50Speaker 2: like twenty four hours, and we made it happen.
- 0:53Speaker 4: So it was very serendipitous because I really could to go,
- 0:57Speaker 4: and I was like, the only friend I know who
- 0:59Speaker 4: would be like down to do that with me, so
- 1:01Speaker 4: like impulsively it would be you and and then You're
- 1:05Speaker 4: so perfect.
- 1:06Speaker 3: It really couldn't be happier.
- 1:07Speaker 2: There would have been no better person to come and
- 1:09Speaker 2: it was her first Backs Boys concert, so oh jeez,
- 1:12Speaker 2: you'll never be able to go to see him on
- 1:14Speaker 2: tour after seeing them at the Sphere. Even though it's
- 1:16Speaker 2: wonderful at all times. You guys, this was the nuttiest
- 1:21Speaker 2: concert I've ever seen in my life. It was pure
- 1:24Speaker 2: sensory candy. Your eyes, your brain was just on so
- 1:29Speaker 2: much serotonin.
- 1:31Speaker 3: They were.
- 1:32Speaker 2: They literally haven't changed as performers, if not gotten better
- 1:37Speaker 2: through the years, because I think back when I saw them,
- 1:42Speaker 2: I guess like during my college years, like early twenty tens.
- 1:46Speaker 2: They were great and live, but sometimes you were like, oh,
- 1:49Speaker 2: it's not what it used to be. And now I
- 1:52Speaker 2: feel like it's two thousand and one again. They sound great.
- 1:57Speaker 2: The acoustics in the Sphere are believable. You like feel
- 2:03Speaker 2: the music in your body, but not in the way
- 2:05Speaker 2: that you normally would at a concert, like it's crystal clear.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Think I told you. Somebody messaged me that there's sixty
- 2:12Speaker 4: seven thousand speakers in the Sphere, including one in every
- 2:16Speaker 4: single seat, So it did. It felt like they were
- 2:20Speaker 4: singing right next to you. It was so crystal clear.
- 2:22Speaker 4: They sounded amazing, like.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Even your chairs vibrated with.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Like the visuals and stuff. It was like, I don't know,
- 2:29Speaker 4: it was like being on a two hour ride.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It was incredible us. It was a themed ride. The
- 2:34Speaker 2: theme was the Back Shape Boys. It felt like we
- 2:37Speaker 2: were in a Universal Studios ride. And actually the visuals
- 2:40Speaker 2: were better than what you usually would find out a
- 2:42Speaker 2: Universal Studios.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Right when you.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Said that you felt like you were zeen on, I'm like,
- 2:46Speaker 4: that was what it felt like.
- 2:47Speaker 3: We went to outer space. Yes, it was too cool.
- 2:51Speaker 2: We actually through The Bachelor, I met their manager Jen.
- 2:57Speaker 3: She is the greatest. She is a power.
- 3:00Speaker 2: This woman manages like the biggest boy band in the
- 3:03Speaker 2: world and has just kept them going at this amazing level,
- 3:08Speaker 2: especially over the past decade, which she's been mostly within
- 3:10Speaker 2: the past decade. And so she got us to do
- 3:16Speaker 2: their little meet and greet beforehand. They basically have a
- 3:18Speaker 2: friends in a family room where the guys, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 2: if they choose come and hang out with about I
- 3:24Speaker 2: don't know how many people were in there, about one hundred,
- 3:26Speaker 2: maybe a little less yeah, maybe a little less yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And so we got to say hi to Nick, we
- 3:31Speaker 2: got to say hi. Howie gave us a very private,
- 3:35Speaker 2: like just a very personal moment.
- 3:37Speaker 3: He was so freaking sweet.
- 3:39Speaker 2: He remembered details about me and Nas because we also
- 3:42Speaker 2: went with Nas Perez, who was one of our Bachelor producers.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's how I became really good friends with her back
- 3:50Speaker 2: in Bachelor in Paradise season two. And then Jared was there,
- 3:52Speaker 2: so it was truly a BP two reunion at the
- 3:56Speaker 2: actual Boys and it was so great.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Hollie was so nice. I just have to say, I
- 4:00Speaker 4: could not believe how warm he was. Yeah, Like he
- 4:04Speaker 4: was just so inviting and so kind, so warm. His
- 4:06Speaker 4: family was the sweetest. Yeah, his wife has always been
- 4:10Speaker 4: really nice. Yeah, they were so sweet. It just made
- 4:12Speaker 4: me and Stellia just be like I could I don't know,
- 4:14Speaker 4: you just don't know what to expect from people who
- 4:16Speaker 4: have like Megastarta.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I'm like, they've been worldwide known, right.
- 4:21Speaker 4: And this guy is just sitting there talking to us
- 4:24Speaker 4: like I don't know, like we were friends. I mean,
- 4:26Speaker 4: you know him, but I don't know him. And it
- 4:28Speaker 4: was just like it was really like a I don't know,
- 4:30Speaker 4: it was a moment for me. I was like, Hughes,
- 4:32Speaker 4: I don't know, I feel like he left such an
- 4:34Speaker 4: impression on me.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It was so crazy because guys he had a NAS
- 4:39Speaker 2: interviewed him. I think it was like two and a
- 4:41Speaker 2: half years ago. She did this JC Penny ad with
- 4:43Speaker 2: them where she was like the host of this sponsored
- 4:46Speaker 2: event and he goes, Nas, you're Dominican, right, like he
- 4:50Speaker 2: remember her ancestry. He remembered that it was a JC
- 4:54Speaker 2: Penny event that she hosted. He was like talking to
- 4:57Speaker 2: me about my kids ages. I'm like, you are so kind.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I can't believe it. And then he like helped us
- 5:05Speaker 2: make a reel Instagram reel and.
- 5:08Speaker 4: It was like so ridiculous, and he was he was like,
- 5:10Speaker 4: just went along with it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah, he was like, do you want to do it again?
- 5:13Speaker 3: If it takes not right, we'll do it again.
- 5:14Speaker 2: And then you see them all like because they're all
- 5:17Speaker 2: so sweet and so humble. AJ wasn't feeling good. He
- 5:20Speaker 2: didn't show up to the back room. And then I
- 5:23Speaker 2: didn't get to say hi to Kevin. But we've I've
- 5:25Speaker 2: met Kevin a number of times and he's just so sweet.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So I was like, I don't need to push any
- 5:30Speaker 2: meetings right now or like hellos when I have such
- 5:33Speaker 2: great memories, you know, like they're so bombarded right now
- 5:36Speaker 2: with other people and let's see who so like when
- 5:40Speaker 2: they got on the stage, it's.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Just like they personas take us back like older egos,
- 5:45Speaker 4: the Backstreet Boys exactly.
- 5:48Speaker 3: They're just like.
- 5:48Speaker 2: These sweet, humble guys, just like talking. They're just like
- 5:51Speaker 2: regular dads and all of a sudden, yes, holy cow,
- 5:56Speaker 2: that's so good.
- 5:57Speaker 4: I don't know, I have like all those video but
- 6:00Speaker 4: I feel like it's just stored in here forever. My
- 6:02Speaker 4: brain is like forever, like chemically altered.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I feel like I can't even post some of these
- 6:09Speaker 2: videos because they don't even do it justice. The experience
- 6:13Speaker 2: of seeing these visuals all around you, having this live music,
- 6:17Speaker 2: like having your favorite band, it was just absolutely out
- 6:22Speaker 2: of this world.
- 6:23Speaker 3: If you are a Backstreet.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Fan and you have thought like, oh, I should make
- 6:26Speaker 2: the trip, like you've got to make the trip. Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 2: Jade and I are trying to put together a giveaway
- 6:31Speaker 2: right now so that people can experience this.
- 6:33Speaker 4: So I when I go on these things, like when
- 6:36Speaker 4: I go to concerts and I just feel like, I
- 6:38Speaker 4: don't know, you just feel like I said, forever changed.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I just want everyone to experience it.
- 6:43Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, I just wish everyone could go because
- 6:45Speaker 4: it's just that good.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you were thinking about Emmy when you were sitting there.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I was thinking about, oddly, my parents. I was like,
- 6:53Speaker 2: my parents would love this. My dad loves Backstort Boys.
- 6:56Speaker 2: He's always He was the one who took me to
- 6:58Speaker 2: the concerts in high school, to college and stuff, and
- 7:03Speaker 2: I just know that he would geek out at the
- 7:05Speaker 2: coolness of it all. We could go on and on
- 7:07Speaker 2: and on. Seriously, you guys have got to check it out.
- 7:11Speaker 3: The theme was fun Millennial Millennium.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Because they all wore white in the Millennium album cover
- 7:18Speaker 2: and like a lot of the times in that Millennium era,
- 7:21Speaker 2: it was like universal white with the baby blue background,
- 7:24Speaker 2: so they wanted to do a white out and it
- 7:26Speaker 2: was cool to look out into the crowd and to
- 7:28Speaker 2: see everybody participating in the white totally.
- 7:31Speaker 3: It was so fun.
- 7:33Speaker 2: And then I wore a butterfly outfit and Jade wore
- 7:36Speaker 2: really cool xenon pants.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Basically anybo at the Backshi Boys concert. I mean, why not?
- 7:43Speaker 2: I know? It was this the perfect night. I smiled
- 7:48Speaker 2: so big for so long.
- 7:50Speaker 3: It was just I've never I've really like, I was
- 7:53Speaker 3: overloaded with serotonin. I couldn't go to sleep.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I don't think I've I mean we got back to
- 7:57Speaker 4: our room at like midnight and I was like, wow,
- 7:59Speaker 4: it's midnight, Like I'm doing good for being in Vegas,
- 8:01Speaker 4: and I don't think I fell asleep until about three
- 8:04Speaker 4: am because my brain grew down.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all right. Well, what I also love about
- 8:12Speaker 2: you and Tanner is that you guys keep up with Paradise,
- 8:16Speaker 2: you keep up with the Bachelor. A lot of lums
- 8:19Speaker 2: have like kind of dropped off as far as like
- 8:21Speaker 2: watching dedicatedly throughout the years, but we are we will
- 8:25Speaker 2: always watch for me. I can't possibly imagine, like the
- 8:29Speaker 2: show that I was on and met my husband and
- 8:33Speaker 2: had my family through to not watch it, right if
- 8:36Speaker 2: it's like still ongoing. However, with Grand Season, there were
- 8:39Speaker 2: times whereas like please, I don't want to watch this.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Oh, I mean, you know what, I was having high
- 8:49Speaker 4: hopes when like Joey became the Bachelor. Gain it's not
- 8:53Speaker 4: trending then, I don't know what happened, and I don't
- 8:57Speaker 4: know if it's happening with Paradise, but we are watching.
- 9:00Speaker 2: So Tanner was the one that Ben and I relied
- 9:04Speaker 2: on for his polls. I love Tanner's polling. I think
- 9:08Speaker 2: he has a good grasp of the bachelor demographic through
- 9:10Speaker 2: his following as well. So most people, like eighty something
- 9:15Speaker 2: percent don't like the new version of the show, totally
- 9:19Speaker 2: new production.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Crew, highly stylized edit.
- 9:23Speaker 4: You.
- 9:24Speaker 2: We were texting because Jade Tanner, me and Jared have
- 9:27Speaker 2: a pretty ongoing text thread, and we were just talking
- 9:30Speaker 2: about how it feels so different. Can you describe what
- 9:35Speaker 2: Tanner and yourself complain about when you're watching on Mondays?
- 9:38Speaker 2: And of course the good things too, because there are
- 9:41Speaker 2: great things, and especially as.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Time goes on. I think it was like a big.
- 9:44Speaker 2: The first episode or two, I was like, oh god,
- 9:47Speaker 2: this feels so weird.
- 9:47Speaker 3: This feels so weird.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And now that we're getting deeper into the storylines, I'm
- 9:51Speaker 2: not seeing the edit as much like the style.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I mean, Tanner definitely has a ton to say, but
- 9:58Speaker 4: I just feel, I smith the campiness that was like
- 10:04Speaker 4: I don't know, the old song and the old intros
- 10:08Speaker 4: and just what made it classically paradise and.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Just I don't relate.
- 10:14Speaker 4: I just don't relate to the new styles of dating
- 10:17Speaker 4: that the generation.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Below us how is it different you think, I don't.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I just feel like they're always just like one like
- 10:25Speaker 4: one flip barely in, you know, like one put out
- 10:28Speaker 4: the door one foot. No one's ever just like I'm
- 10:31Speaker 4: going to fully dive into this and see what happens,
- 10:35Speaker 4: because I feel like maybe that's just more of my
- 10:36Speaker 4: personal styles. Like when I'm ready to just like give
- 10:39Speaker 4: it a shot, I just one percent try to give
- 10:41Speaker 4: it a shot. And I feel like everybody nowadays is
- 10:44Speaker 4: always so hesitant. They always have this like I don't know,
- 10:47Speaker 4: I feel like people have really high This is good,
- 10:49Speaker 4: it's good to have high standards, but I feel like
- 10:51Speaker 4: people have like exceptionally.
- 10:52Speaker 3: High standards and when something.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Goes wrong, they just like totally right off the person
- 10:57Speaker 4: instead of understanding that we're complex people with cats and
- 11:02Speaker 4: like with like our quirks and everything and that, like
- 11:05Speaker 4: if you really want to make something work, you work
- 11:07Speaker 4: with somebody. And so I just feel like people give
- 11:10Speaker 4: up so easily.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And I don't know that's just they do.
- 11:14Speaker 4: My two cents on that, but the show just doesn't
- 11:17Speaker 4: have the same.
- 11:19Speaker 3: There's like a heart, it's a warmth and a heart.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I mean god, i'd give anything for that
- 11:23Speaker 4: air conditioning. I was so jealous when they're like, we're
- 11:26Speaker 4: staying in an air conditioned space.
- 11:28Speaker 2: But also like I kind of like the suffering element
- 11:32Speaker 2: to it. It made like you made you have to
- 11:34Speaker 2: like be tough for love, like you really wanted to
- 11:37Speaker 2: be there, and it did like it create more of
- 11:40Speaker 2: like a It kind of created like a community vibe
- 11:43Speaker 2: with us, like all like suffering together in one bedrooms,
- 11:46Speaker 2: were sleeping outside.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Guess we're all like.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Are bitten by the sand mites where you all are sweaty, gross, like.
- 11:54Speaker 3: In poop for nine days, you know, and poop for
- 11:57Speaker 3: nine days.
- 11:57Speaker 4: We're all denydrated, our makeups running off our faces.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah. About the dating style, there's two theories to it. One.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I think you're correct. I do think that that's how people.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I think people are extremely picky these days and they
- 12:12Speaker 2: get very freaked out by flaw.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 4: I think it's due to like swiping right. It's just
- 12:19Speaker 4: like oh, onto the next, onto the next.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I don't like this thing about you.
- 12:22Speaker 4: There's someone else, like totally. I really think dating apps
- 12:25Speaker 4: are ruined dating.
- 12:26Speaker 2: But it could be we're glad that we got you know,
- 12:28Speaker 2: we were around during it we were single during dating apps,
- 12:31Speaker 2: but it was true. It was like thirty percent of
- 12:34Speaker 2: people were meeting that way. Now it's like whoof yeah
- 12:37Speaker 2: a lot. Now that there's a.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Problem with it.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I mean it find somebody through dating, aw, that's so
- 12:42Speaker 2: so great. But yeah, the never ending options mentality is
- 12:45Speaker 2: the probably the issue. Yeah. I also feel like maybe
- 12:58Speaker 2: in Paradise they are being more careful about solidifying a
- 13:03Speaker 2: relationship because they don't want to get in trouble. They
- 13:05Speaker 2: don't want to get the bad edit because if they
- 13:07Speaker 2: were to say I'm with you, I'm with you, and
- 13:09Speaker 2: then somebody else comes in and then the relationship gets broken,
- 13:12Speaker 2: somebody's gonna be vilified.
- 13:15Speaker 3: That's true.
- 13:16Speaker 4: I mean, if you think about I think Tanner called
- 13:19Speaker 4: Paradise the Timu love Islands.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well it but.
- 13:23Speaker 4: If you think about Love Islands, they are very.
- 13:27Speaker 3: All open minded about that though.
- 13:28Speaker 4: They're like, I'm coupled up with you, but we owe
- 13:31Speaker 4: it to all of ourselves to get to know everyone,
- 13:35Speaker 4: and so everyone's allowed to go have a conversation, everyone's
- 13:37Speaker 4: kissing everybody, and nobody's getting really weird about it yet
- 13:40Speaker 4: until like halfway through. Then it's kind of like all right,
- 13:43Speaker 4: now you've got to be serious with this person, and
- 13:45Speaker 4: then you're not really like entertaining other.
- 13:47Speaker 3: People anymore, and if you do, you're kind of a villain.
- 13:50Speaker 4: But in the beginning, I feel like everybody is really
- 13:53Speaker 4: open and understands that that's just the concept, and so
- 13:57Speaker 4: I feel like almost I should kind of like ours
- 14:02Speaker 4: was not. I was like, if you like go after
- 14:04Speaker 4: anybody else, you're gonna be like totally.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Like a villain.
- 14:06Speaker 4: When we were on Paradise, Yeah, like if say, like
- 14:11Speaker 4: next week, I like jumped over to somebody else and
- 14:13Speaker 4: then like was wishing to watch you with Tanner, I
- 14:15Speaker 4: would people would have hated me.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yeah, But I.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Feel like if they all had that like understanding of
- 14:20Speaker 4: we're all this here to get to know each other
- 14:22Speaker 4: and they'd get getty, then maybe that's like then I understand.
- 14:26Speaker 2: We're like they're not supposed to couple up, or like
- 14:28Speaker 2: the first week doesn't have rose ceremonies. That would actually
- 14:31Speaker 2: probably could work best for Paradise. That's a good spin
- 14:35Speaker 2: the first like two weeks, you know, which is really
- 14:37Speaker 2: like six days.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I also think if they're gonna adapt so many of
- 14:40Speaker 4: these new ways to do paradise. I think if you
- 14:44Speaker 4: don't get a rose, I don't think you should have
- 14:45Speaker 4: to be sent home. I just think you're just single
- 14:48Speaker 4: in the villa or whatever.
- 14:50Speaker 3: And then more.
- 14:51Speaker 4: People come in that way, like you have an option
- 14:53Speaker 4: to see the new people too, and those new people
- 14:55Speaker 4: aren't just coming in and be like, oh, everybody's coupled up.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Oh I've got one option.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's like when I walked in on season three and
- 15:03Speaker 2: Daniel was truly the only person I could ask, and
- 15:07Speaker 2: like he didn't even want to go with me, and
- 15:09Speaker 2: I didn't really want to ask him, and it's like,
- 15:10Speaker 2: but I guess it's just the two of us.
- 15:12Speaker 3: It's just Yeah, that is such a good point.
- 15:16Speaker 2: And also we could see people like Susie like, yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 2: Lexi continue to date in that area, and it would
- 15:24Speaker 2: be fun to watch them because we'd still have the
- 15:27Speaker 2: awkwardness of justin being around totally.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Like I would have loved to have seen Lexi stay
- 15:32Speaker 4: around and Susie, you know what I mean. And then
- 15:35Speaker 4: you get to see when the new guys come in,
- 15:36Speaker 4: how those how everything plays out. It's just like different
- 15:39Speaker 4: dynamics or if they say, like you said, if they
- 15:41Speaker 4: stay around, then how are Susie and Justin and Lexie
- 15:44Speaker 4: still going to navigate that? Like, I feel like it
- 15:46Speaker 4: just head off so fast.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yes, you could actually make more drama by having people
- 15:52Speaker 2: hang around more, and then you'd also have possibly more
- 15:57Speaker 2: couples totally, And that leads me to my next question.
- 16:01Speaker 2: So we see that Jess and Spencer are like the
- 16:06Speaker 2: Jaden Tanner kind of of this season so far, They're
- 16:10Speaker 2: like the one really solid feeling couple and they're doing
- 16:14Speaker 2: what they oftentimes do. They don't give them a lot
- 16:17Speaker 2: of airtime because quote quote they might be boring. Then
- 16:20Speaker 2: people always are sad about not getting to know the
- 16:23Speaker 2: couple that may end up being together. I think that
- 16:26Speaker 2: if anyone of all the seasons of Bachelor in Paradise,
- 16:30Speaker 2: you and Tanner probably got more airtime than most couples
- 16:33Speaker 2: that ended up getting married.
- 16:34Speaker 3: What do you think I can't remember?
- 16:38Speaker 4: I still like it still is not a lot because
- 16:41Speaker 4: we were so on yat yeah, you know, and we
- 16:44Speaker 4: didn't really participate in any of the other drama too.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Like I know, they tried to pull me into Sam,
- 16:49Speaker 4: Sam Joe yeah stuff. Yeah, And I was just really
- 16:55Speaker 4: sad because I loved Sam and I was like, I
- 16:57Speaker 4: don't want to be sucked into this, and they were
- 16:59Speaker 4: trying to say.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I didn't like that either, because I liked Sam too. Yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 2: I was like, am I going to look bad for
- 17:04Speaker 2: being like supportive of her?
- 17:07Speaker 3: I know? So I just didn't play the game. So
- 17:09Speaker 3: then I feel like that was the only end.
- 17:14Speaker 4: He loves it, though he loves to like he loves
- 17:17Speaker 4: little like one liner like quips, and he likes still
- 17:20Speaker 4: like start.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Little fires and watch him.
- 17:21Speaker 4: But yeah, no, I can't remember the airtime, but maybe,
- 17:26Speaker 4: but yeah, it is. It does kind of if it's
- 17:30Speaker 4: a show about love, I don't know why they aren't
- 17:31Speaker 4: at least giving the couples who are possibly on their
- 17:34Speaker 4: way to an engagement in more screen time, because then
- 17:37Speaker 4: you two get to develop that you get to see
- 17:39Speaker 4: that developed, that relationship developed and blossom.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Do you think that Jess and Spencer will get engaged?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Do you think there's going to be any other couple
- 17:48Speaker 2: that gets engaged? But my guess is now, But I
- 17:50Speaker 2: guess that I guess that they will.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I guess that there's still if the show is still
- 17:54Speaker 4: trying to end it in an engagement. But I saw
- 17:56Speaker 4: there's now like a money pot at the air right
- 17:58Speaker 4: that we still don't know anything about.
- 18:00Speaker 3: No, I'm like, wait, what is what is this show? Now?
- 18:03Speaker 4: So? I mean, but they are the ones I pick
- 18:06Speaker 4: if there's an engagement going to happen. They seem to
- 18:08Speaker 4: be the ones that are actually like getting to know
- 18:11Speaker 4: each other, spending time with each other, that.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Are all like, you know, they seem like you're falling
- 18:15Speaker 3: in love.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Do you think that there could be a possible spin
- 18:19Speaker 2: on the money where it's like, this is your five
- 18:21Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars for a down payment if you guys
- 18:23Speaker 2: actually make it to the altar?
- 18:26Speaker 3: I mean, that would be incredible. Yeah that works.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Are they gonna be like awful and be like you
- 18:33Speaker 4: have the chance if you you know, if you're the
- 18:35Speaker 4: final couple, you have the chance to keep the five
- 18:38Speaker 4: hundred pot or whatever, the five hundred thousand dollars to
- 18:41Speaker 4: yourself or split it between you and the other person,
- 18:44Speaker 4: Like you don't they do that?
- 18:46Speaker 3: And then like yeah, that's like you know, that's like
- 18:48Speaker 3: too hot to handle and stuff.
- 18:49Speaker 2: But I I don't know, I'm not really You guys
- 18:53Speaker 2: watch more dating shows than I do, because you guys
- 18:55Speaker 2: watch Love Island.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Right, Sander watches you watching the UK version?
- 18:59Speaker 2: Ok, yeah, it's too dirty for me, Like it's so
- 19:03Speaker 2: uncomfortably dirty.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I don't watch.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I hadn't seen the the US version. But that's another thing.
- 19:11Speaker 4: I wish that Paradise didn't have the hotel rooms. I
- 19:14Speaker 4: feel like it's stifling so much of the like connections
- 19:19Speaker 4: where you just if it's raining, you just go sit
- 19:21Speaker 4: in your room.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Like that's so terrible, so crazy.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And what do you think about the Goldens my last
- 19:27Speaker 2: question about Paradise. I actually think that they bring fun
- 19:30Speaker 2: to it. I wasn't very keen on having them come
- 19:33Speaker 2: because I wanted attention to be on the young ends
- 19:37Speaker 2: and I didn't want any of those like crossover storylines.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I think it's actually bringing levity to it.
- 19:44Speaker 4: I find them entertaining, Like I do find them like funny.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I like I like Gary, who's funny.
- 19:52Speaker 4: And but I just feel that they're there for fun.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not going to like leave together. I like
- 19:59Speaker 3: they're just there for like Margarita's and patient.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah one thousand percent, And those people have been mingling.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I know that, like the rules of mingling before. Paradise
- 20:09Speaker 2: is far more lax than it used to be. But
- 20:12Speaker 2: those people have hung out so many times. If they
- 20:15Speaker 2: really felt a connection, they would already be together.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, but I do find like I thought
- 20:22Speaker 4: it was gonna be gross. I was like, ew, like
- 20:24Speaker 4: I don't want to it would be so uncomfortable for me.
- 20:26Speaker 4: But it doesn't seem that way as much as I'm
- 20:29Speaker 4: watching it.
- 20:30Speaker 2: No, Okay, let's get into some bachelor headlines. The virgin
- 20:36Speaker 2: dating show that we did know about. Uh, I don't
- 20:39Speaker 2: know that we talked about it yet, probably not, probably
- 20:41Speaker 2: weren't allowed to. But it's called Are You My First?
- 20:44Speaker 2: Is hosted by Bachelor lum Carlton and Caitlin, and it's
- 20:50Speaker 2: going to be on Hulu starting on August eighteenth. It's
- 20:54Speaker 2: gonna stream all ten episodes at once. So it's like
- 20:59Speaker 2: part of of like the Hulu Disney Plus like ABC,
- 21:02Speaker 2: like Family Delio and it obviously, you know, obviously.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Like a little fumbou.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Like like okay, so there was like lots of virgins,
- 21:12Speaker 2: but like maybe like I could have been there and
- 21:15Speaker 2: maybe like if you guys do another season, I would
- 21:17Speaker 2: love to be your host.
- 21:19Speaker 3: But Colton makes sense. They have two leads here, Okay.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Caitlin makes sense because I think she's probably when it
- 21:28Speaker 2: comes to leads, not very virginy.
- 21:34Speaker 4: So it's like it's like the Angel and the Devil
- 21:36Speaker 4: on your shoulder.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah, the Yin and Yang for sure.
- 21:39Speaker 2: The tagline is the largest hottest group of virgins ever assembled,
- 21:46Speaker 2: and where we were following them is a search for intimacy,
- 21:49Speaker 2: love and maybe they're first in a tropical paradise designed
- 21:53Speaker 2: just for them. For the first time, they're free to
- 21:56Speaker 2: explore their connections without judgment, allowing these sexy young singles
- 22:01Speaker 2: to embark on a heated yet heartfelt journey packed with
- 22:04Speaker 2: the romantic dates, revealing challenges, and new love interests that
- 22:10Speaker 2: are eager to find the one who I'm just presuring
- 22:15Speaker 2: myself at twenty six, And like on this show.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I was gonna say, how do you feel about that?
- 22:21Speaker 3: I would feel so effing awkward.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I think that, like I felt awkward being on the
- 22:26Speaker 2: Bachelor and having to be like, hey, guess what I'm
- 22:28Speaker 2: a version this is actually makes me feel like I
- 22:30Speaker 2: would be like so much more like I had like
- 22:34Speaker 2: a weird scarlet letter, like a good girl, like a
- 22:36Speaker 2: nice scarlet letter, but like everybody in the country being
- 22:39Speaker 2: just like, oh, look, dating virgins. I don't know what
- 22:43Speaker 2: makes me feel weird, weirder even.
- 22:46Speaker 4: And yeah, I mean just imagine like a whole daily
- 22:49Speaker 4: show revolving around losing your V card.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Well, that's that's definitely what it is.
- 22:53Speaker 2: That's like when they would try to elude that I
- 22:55Speaker 2: was going to lose it in the fantasy suite and
- 22:57Speaker 2: I'm like, you, guys, this is so effing ridiculous. Would
- 23:00Speaker 2: never lose it in a fantasy suite on TV. And
- 23:03Speaker 2: so I think that's what's so awkward about this is
- 23:06Speaker 2: they're like searching to kind of lose it. Oh my god,
- 23:10Speaker 2: where I was just like, this is like an element
- 23:12Speaker 2: of me, But like this is like they people are
- 23:15Speaker 2: gonna be watching to see if somebody loses it on
- 23:18Speaker 2: the show.
- 23:19Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't know if I could watch that.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I think I'm going to watch it.
- 23:23Speaker 4: It feels so intimate, like it feels like so like
- 23:26Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't know.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I will definitely watch it because like I want to
- 23:32Speaker 2: be supportive of like of course Caitlin, and like it's
- 23:35Speaker 2: it's nice to see two bachelor lums as me, Yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 2: as the host, Like that's really really cool, and then
- 23:42Speaker 2: it's something that I can relate to.
- 23:44Speaker 3: So I will definitely be watching. See if they grab
- 23:47Speaker 3: me for all ten episodes.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Maybe it'll be super sweet because everyone's so like.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Vulnerable, you know, exactly, like everybody is going to really
- 23:54Speaker 2: be in it, I think for the love and the
- 23:57Speaker 2: relationship and not like hooking up. It's gonna be the
- 24:01Speaker 2: opposite of Love Island. So it probably won't feel icky
- 24:03Speaker 2: at all for me.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Yeah that's true.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Awkward but ikey, but awkward but not icky, all right.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So Nick Viel and Natalie enjoy Vile. They will be
- 24:14Speaker 2: also hosting a new dating show. It's called Age of
- 24:18Speaker 2: Attraction and it's going to be launching on twenty twenty
- 24:22Speaker 2: six on Netflix. I know that they were just spending
- 24:24Speaker 2: the last month I think it was June and Canada
- 24:27Speaker 2: filming it, and in this obviously they are picked to
- 24:30Speaker 2: be the host of this show because crazy enough, Nick
- 24:34Speaker 2: and Natalie are eighteen years apart, and it doesn't feel
- 24:38Speaker 2: like that ever at all, Like hanging out with them,
- 24:40Speaker 2: looking at them doesn't feel like that at all, right,
- 24:42Speaker 2: because Nick is the youngest looking forty four year old
- 24:46Speaker 2: I've ever seen my entire life, and he's just and
- 24:49Speaker 2: he's mature, but he has young he has the youth
- 24:52Speaker 2: about him, right.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Anyway, so and she seems mature like and she's totally exactly.
- 25:00Speaker 2: She matures up and he doesn't mature down. I think
- 25:03Speaker 2: is mostly her maturing up. But like also it's his
- 25:05Speaker 2: youth at forty four, Like how does he look like that?
- 25:08Speaker 3: I don't know. So there. This is the This is the.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Synopsis for this ages thrown out the window as singles
- 25:19Speaker 2: search for their soulmates with the help from Nick and Natalie.
- 25:22Speaker 2: The daters range from twenty two years old to fifty
- 25:26Speaker 2: nine years old, so potential matches will see if age
- 25:29Speaker 2: is truly just a number or if the years will
- 25:32Speaker 2: come between them. Oh that is a that's a big chunk.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Eighteen years. I've seen eighteen years work plenty of times.
- 25:40Speaker 2: This is twenty two to fifty nine.
- 25:43Speaker 3: What are your thoughts?
- 25:45Speaker 4: So twenty two year old me would have been like, yeah, whatever,
- 25:51Speaker 4: all yeah, I see that on thirty eight year old
- 25:54Speaker 4: me is like, no, that's predatory.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Yeah, like that man's not No, he's gonna try to
- 26:03Speaker 5: like manipulate you, and you know what I mean, Like,
- 26:06Speaker 5: why is he dating that young, like and as a mother, yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 5: well no, yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Right, I know. I just get worried. I have so
- 26:15Speaker 3: many thoughts. I don't know if I should share them.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I thought that your twenty two year old self wouldn't care.
- 26:24Speaker 4: To year old, free spirited me would have been like, like,
- 26:27Speaker 4: let's seever, like, age is just a number.
- 26:31Speaker 2: That's like when nas like, because you guys, we went
- 26:34Speaker 2: with our friend nas too to Backstreet and she will
- 26:38Speaker 2: like casually go on a date with somebody like her
- 26:40Speaker 2: dad's age and I'm like, Nas, no, no, and she's
- 26:45Speaker 2: like it's fine, it's cool.
- 26:46Speaker 3: She's just like so much more free willing than me.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I am such a generational person, like I am definition
- 26:54Speaker 2: millennial that like, if I wasn't with the millennial, I
- 26:57Speaker 2: would feel like we had nothing in common.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I couldn't. I couldn't do that.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Well, what does a fifty nine year old have in
- 27:04Speaker 4: common with a twenty two year old?
- 27:06Speaker 3: Ever? I don't know, And I know that's.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Just a range that's probably not who's dating who.
- 27:11Speaker 3: But yeah, exactly, so we will shall see.
- 27:13Speaker 2: This also is the third Bachelor alum to be recently
- 27:17Speaker 2: announced as the host of a dating show. Because Gabby
- 27:20Speaker 2: Winley is doing Alex Cooper's new show on Hulu.
- 27:23Speaker 3: She's being the host of that already.
- 27:36Speaker 2: So we move on to Gary Turner giving his honest
- 27:40Speaker 2: opinion on the new Golden Bachelor mel Owens. So he
- 27:44Speaker 2: actually they didn't fire him, which is shocking.
- 27:49Speaker 4: So that was the rumor, but it actually didn't happen.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I don't think so, because I believe that they had
- 27:54Speaker 2: to start filming like this week.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Gotcha, no time to grab anyone.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Else, no time to remind everybody if you weren't if
- 28:03Speaker 2: you didn't know. Mel Owens, the New Golden Bachelor, said
- 28:07Speaker 2: that he would be cutting any female contestant over the
- 28:11Speaker 2: age of sixty.
- 28:12Speaker 3: He said this on a podcast.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Did he realize that the Golden starting age is sixty
- 28:18Speaker 2: and like all the contestants thus far and the series
- 28:21Speaker 2: have been from sixty to seventy years old. He also
- 28:24Speaker 2: said a couple of other things. He said that his
- 28:27Speaker 2: ideal age would be like forty five, and he said
- 28:32Speaker 2: something about like no grannies or something like uh oh,
- 28:35Speaker 2: I forget, but something about bodies. He said something about
- 28:40Speaker 2: bodies that was in not a tasteful comment.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Really highly of himself. Doesn't he I do.
- 28:46Speaker 2: They really should have switched him out because this is
- 28:49Speaker 2: going to carry with everybody's feelings for the entire season,
- 28:53Speaker 2: because when he is dating six year olds, we're going
- 28:55Speaker 2: to be like, oh wow, he's probably just gonna dump
- 28:57Speaker 2: this lady because he's just doing it.
- 28:58Speaker 3: For the show. He doesn't really want to be with
- 29:00Speaker 3: somebody of this age anyway.
- 29:01Speaker 2: To get to the back to the headline, Gary says this,
- 29:04Speaker 2: I think it'll be unfortunate if he cuts anyone over.
- 29:07Speaker 3: The age of sixty.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I think he's going to have a change of heart
- 29:10Speaker 2: in this when he starts. I think he will see
- 29:12Speaker 2: the grace and the charm of women who are over
- 29:15Speaker 2: sixty and the confidence that they carry, and that he's
- 29:18Speaker 2: going to have a change of heart the age thing,
- 29:20Speaker 2: Ignore the number, deal with the person. Gary also said
- 29:25Speaker 2: that if Mel treats each and every one of them
- 29:27Speaker 2: with the courtesy and respect, with curtesying respect, and he
- 29:30Speaker 2: is a good listener, he's going to be fine. Okay,
- 29:35Speaker 2: that's very nice, Gary, that's very positive and optimistic, and
- 29:38Speaker 2: you're being a great spokesperson for the show there. I
- 29:41Speaker 2: really think that this is a mistake for them. I
- 29:43Speaker 2: think there's so many handsome, worthy men to be the
- 29:48Speaker 2: Golden Bachelor, and he royally messed up.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Well, how are you going to feel if you're one
- 29:53Speaker 4: of the golden bachelorettes going on?
- 29:56Speaker 3: Now? Yeah, that's if you.
- 29:58Speaker 4: They haven't started filming, so obviously you probably already read
- 30:00Speaker 4: that headline.
- 30:01Speaker 3: So how are you gonna feel?
- 30:02Speaker 4: You're not gonna go intoy like self confident and like, no, I.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Have value, I have worth.
- 30:07Speaker 4: I'm here to find my person and like have this
- 30:10Speaker 4: like next chapter of my life like so many of
- 30:12Speaker 4: them we did see, like that's.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Why we fall in love with all those women.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Anyways, It's like, you know, it was just like their
- 30:19Speaker 4: readiness to be like vulnerable and find love in the
- 30:23Speaker 4: stage of their life.
- 30:23Speaker 3: And now you're like, oh, but you want a forty
- 30:25Speaker 3: five year.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Old I know, and you know I think about us
- 30:29Speaker 2: and the fact that forty five for you is seven
- 30:32Speaker 2: years away.
- 30:33Speaker 3: For me, it's eight years away, Like I like, if
- 30:36Speaker 3: would I take this?
- 30:37Speaker 2: I don't even want you mail Okay, in eight years
- 30:39Speaker 2: I don't want you.
- 30:43Speaker 3: All right now I'm being hypocrite.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Whatever, So now we move on to some happy love news.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Kelsey Weir from Peter season Pete Season is engaged to
- 30:55Speaker 2: basketball pro Matt Thomas. He plays out in Europe. She
- 31:00Speaker 2: moved with him over there in twenty twenty three and
- 31:04Speaker 2: they just got engaged this week July twenty first, at
- 31:08Speaker 2: a beautiful resort that one of our that our producer
- 31:11Speaker 2: has been to. It's apparently so nice out in the desert.
- 31:13Speaker 2: We are so happy for her because I know that
- 31:17Speaker 2: she's such a hopeless romantic and she went through a
- 31:20Speaker 2: lot after Pete's season and now she's found her happily
- 31:24Speaker 2: ever after.
- 31:24Speaker 3: It's wonderful.
- 31:26Speaker 2: And an other exciting news this dropped on Instagram yesterday.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Rodney Matthews, Rodney or Sweet Rodney from Michelle Season marries
- 31:35Speaker 2: his fiance Ari in an intimate ceremony. It was they've
- 31:39Speaker 2: been together since twenty twenty three and they officially tied
- 31:44Speaker 2: the knot in at Beverly Hills City Hall this week.
- 31:48Speaker 3: So that's that was the cutest pictures.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I do love a courthouse wedding, not for myself but
- 31:53Speaker 2: for others.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's awesome. I didn't know that they got.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Married, So congrat Oh so wonderful. All right, Jed, Well,
- 32:01Speaker 2: thank you for coming on. I'd like to create a
- 32:03Speaker 2: headline for you because everybody's always interested in your house,
- 32:06Speaker 2: your house stuff, because you guys switch houses all the time. Now,
- 32:11Speaker 2: we love it. We love the excitement of it. I
- 32:17Speaker 2: love seeing all your new houses. So you're currently in
- 32:21Speaker 2: a place that is like you bought when you first
- 32:23Speaker 2: moved back to Kansas City a year ago.
- 32:26Speaker 3: But this was always supposed to be.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Your transitional home while you guys figured out where you
- 32:30Speaker 2: really really wanted to live forever in Kansas City.
- 32:34Speaker 3: And first you bought a lot that you thought you
- 32:36Speaker 3: were going.
- 32:36Speaker 2: To build on, and then stuff happened and you decided
- 32:41Speaker 2: to buy a house that was.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Built what in the nineties.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're totally redoing it because Tanner has a
- 32:49Speaker 2: thing where Tanner loves a fresh house.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, So when we moved from California, we wanted
- 32:56Speaker 4: to move back to Kansas to have our kids in
- 32:59Speaker 4: the school system there because Tanner has all these wonderful
- 33:02Speaker 4: memories and it's a great it's a great school system.
- 33:05Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 33:05Speaker 2: We were in very same similar about not the school
- 33:07Speaker 2: system element but the home state.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Yeah, And so our household was in like one day
- 33:13Speaker 4: and so we needed to find somewhere. We bought the
- 33:15Speaker 4: house we're currently in, like sight unseen, and then we
- 33:18Speaker 4: had bought that land like six months before, so we
- 33:21Speaker 4: thought that that was totally going to like start like
- 33:23Speaker 4: being a thing.
- 33:24Speaker 3: We were going to have a house soon.
- 33:25Speaker 4: But then some stuff happened and it fell through kind
- 33:30Speaker 4: of with the building of it.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So now we bought a house.
- 33:34Speaker 4: That we're renovating, because it is true. My husband loves
- 33:37Speaker 4: like new builds and.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Never thought he had to do a rento. I can't
- 33:41Speaker 3: believe he is too, I.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Know, but I think I just commenced him because it's
- 33:46Speaker 4: on twenty six acres.
- 33:47Speaker 3: It's so beautiful, so serene. It just feels like.
- 33:50Speaker 4: The people we bought it from call it the Healing
- 33:52Speaker 4: Vore Attax because their daughter, while they were living there,
- 33:56Speaker 4: she was pregnant, and when she was pregnant, she found
- 33:58Speaker 4: out she had stage four colon cancer.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 34:03Speaker 4: And she moved in with them, and while living there
- 34:07Speaker 4: and like doing like her treatments and stuff, she completely healed.
- 34:09Speaker 3: It's like I'll find any trace of the cancer in
- 34:12Speaker 3: her body.
- 34:12Speaker 4: He wrote this whole book about it, but they call
- 34:14Speaker 4: it the healing vortex, and I'm like, I swear to
- 34:16Speaker 4: God every time we're out there, and it's so peaceful.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I feel so healing.
- 34:20Speaker 4: I don't know what it is about the energy there,
- 34:22Speaker 4: but I just feel like it's just I don't know.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I feel so happy that that's where we're gonna be
- 34:28Speaker 4: and this we're not moving anymore after this, I promise.
- 34:31Speaker 3: That is so magical. That's really that's that's a nice history.
- 34:37Speaker 3: This's great.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, the history is really beautiful and it
- 34:40Speaker 4: was so nice.
- 34:40Speaker 3: They're the nicest people. They built the house themselves.
- 34:43Speaker 4: And but yeah, I would love someday, like I want
- 34:48Speaker 4: to see like Emmy get married there and.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, near the pond and have a family compound.
- 34:55Speaker 4: There's some day if I can convince all my kids
- 34:57Speaker 4: to live next to.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Us, and that would be I think that's like the
- 35:01Speaker 2: way of the future is like all of us are
- 35:03Speaker 2: going to have come We all like want to live
- 35:06Speaker 2: on the same cul de Sac as our families, which
- 35:08Speaker 2: is really nice.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Yeah, alrighty well, Jad.
