  But today who is the man of the hour?

  It is actually Loki. So let's talk all about Loki's
• 0:45
  wild timeline in the MCUI. Guess wild would be an
• 0:48
  understatement. So where did Loki start in the
• 0:51
  MCU? Starting in the first Thor movie
• 0:54
  in 2011. That's where we get to meet Tom
• 0:57
  Hiddleston's Loki for the very first time.
• 0:59
  In the movie, we learned that Loki was born around 90965AD to
• 1:06
  the Frost Giant, Lofi and Yewtenheim.

  Not long after, Odin and the Asgardian army went to war with
• 1:13
  the Frost Giants. When the battle was over, Odin
• 1:16
  found baby Loki abandoned and decided to take him in, raising
• 1:20
  him as his own son. He and his wife Frigga brought
• 1:23
  Loki up in Asgard alongside the real son, Thor.
• 1:27
  They hoped Loki might one day help bring peace between their
• 1:31
  people and the Frost Giants. But you know, Odin never told
• 1:37
  Loki the truth about where he came from or that he was
• 1:39
  actually a Frost Giant. The secret ended up causing some
• 1:43
  serious drama between Loki and his family for over over 2000
• 1:47
  years. Later after it all happened,
• 1:50
  Loki became known for being a bit of a troublemaker when he
• 1:53
  was younger. One of his pranks actually ended
• 1:56
  up revealing the truth about where he actually really came
• 1:58
  from. In Thor 2011.

  He said a bunch of things in motion that got Thor kicked out
• 2:03
  of Asgard. But while all that was going
• 2:06
  down, Loki found out he was actually the son of Lofi, the
• 2:10
  Frost Giant King. That discovery led to a very
• 2:14
  heated argument with Odin, which ended with Odin falling into one
• 2:18
  of his deep recovery sleeps earlier than expected.

  I tell you what, I did not like Odin in the NCU.

  I think they could have done better.
• 2:29
  I mean, I don't think I could have done better, but I think
• 2:32
  they could have done better. Acting out in rage and betrayal,
• 2:35
  Loki attempted to destroy Yotenheim to impress his father.
• 2:39
  That included tricking Laffy into trying to murder Odin while
• 2:42
  he slept, only for Loki to kill him before the deed was done.

  That became an excuse for wiping out the entire Frost Giant race.
• 2:51
  However, he was defeated by his returning brother, who managed
• 2:55
  to save Yodenheim in utter destruction.

  In the ensuing chaos, Loki slips into the void surrounding the
• 3:03
  Bifrost, appearing to die before Thor's very eyes.

  You know, one of the many times Loki pretended to be dead.
• 3:13
  Loki survived, however, though Asgard was unaware of it at the
• 3:16
  time and would soon return to make more mischief.
• 3:19
  Because that's what he did. Loki kept a low profile for a
• 3:23
  while, secretly planning his revenge.
• 3:25
  Eventually he crossed paths with Thanos, who saw potential in
• 3:29
  him. Old Thanos gave Loki the Mind
• 3:32
  Stone which had a sneaky influence on him, making him
• 3:35
  even more ruthless and sent him to Earth with a deal bringing
• 3:39
  back the Tesseract which held the Space Stone and in return
• 3:43
  Loki would get his own Kingdom. Armed with the Mindstone and
• 3:47
  leading an alien army called the Shatari, Loki launched a full
• 3:51
  scale attack on Earth. He even manipulated Doctor Eric
• 3:55
  Selvig into opening a portal over New York using the
• 3:59
  Tesseract. We all remember this wildness
• 4:02
  that Hi Loki, what can you do? This team up between Loki and
• 4:09
  Thanos turned them into the two of the biggest villains in the
• 4:12
  MCU, and it pushed Earth's heroes to unite for the first
• 4:15
  time as The Avengers. Loki's defeat in the Battle of
• 4:19
  New York marked a major turning point.
• 4:21
  He was captured and Thanos ended up empty handed without either
• 4:26
  the milestone or the Space Stone.
• 4:28
  But it also kick started the whole Infinity Stone storyline
• 4:32
  which would shape everything going forward until you get to
• 4:37
  Loki series. If you know, you know we will
• 4:40
  talk about it. After getting defeated on Earth,
• 4:43
  Loki was taken back to Asgard to face the music in front of Odin
• 4:48
  and for The Dark World he spent his time locked up in a cell
• 4:52
  with the palace and with only his mother Frigga coming to
• 4:55
  visit him. When the Dark Elves attacked
• 4:57
  Asgard, Loki being Loki gave them a not so helpful tip on
• 5:02
  where to find Odin, which tragically led to Frigga's
• 5:05
  death. Which interestingly enough,
• 5:09
  there is a there is a deleted scene that talks about Fred's
• 5:16
  death. Well, I mean it's show it's
• 5:18
  before she dies and Odin like jumps in when the elves are
• 5:22
  trying to about to kill her. And they said give us what we
• 5:26
  want or we kill her and he's like, no, then kill her.
• 5:29
  And it's like Odin, that's your girl.
• 5:33
  Whatever, whatever, whatever. Later, Thor had no choice but to
• 5:37
  break Loki out of prison to help stop Malekith, who was trying to
• 5:41
  use the Reality Stone during the convergence.
• 5:43
  Still grieving over their mother, Loki teamed up with Thor
• 5:46
  to take down Malekith, but true to form, he faked his own death
• 5:52
  in the chaos and slipped away unnoticed and secretly made his
• 5:55
  way back to Asgard. Thor believed his brother had
• 5:59
  finally died a hero, not knowing Loki was alive and up to his old
• 6:03
  tricks again. Which is on you.
• 6:05
  You should have known. After Thor beat Malekith, Loki
• 6:09
  pulled one-on-one of the biggest tricks yet.
• 6:11
  He secretly took over Asgard using his illusion magic.
• 6:16
  He kicked Odin off the throne and disguised himself as the All
• 6:19
  Father. Everyone including Thor bought
• 6:22
  the act and Loki ruled Asgard for the next 4 years without
• 6:25
  anyone realizing it. While he played King, Loki let
• 6:29
  the 9 realms fall into chaos since Asgard wasn't stepping up
• 6:33
  to protect them. Instead he spent his time
• 6:35
  soaking up luxury and attention. He even had a cringy play made
• 6:39
  in his honor celebrating his so-called noble death.
• 6:43
  Eventually Thor caught on and came back to expose Loki's Khan,
• 6:48
  but by then things had already spelled out of control.
• 6:53
  Odin was dying and their long lost sister Hella was about to
• 6:56
  make her return. Ragnarok, the prophesied
• 7:00
  destruction of Asgard was on the horizon.
• 7:04
  Loki and Thor ended up teaming up to take down Hella.
• 7:07
  They couldn't save Asgard, but they did manage to evacuate a
• 7:11
  bunch of their people, giving their civilization a chance to
• 7:14
  start over. Loki actually stepped up and
• 7:17
  played a major role in the rescue, showing real signs of
• 7:20
  growth. But their moment of peace did
• 7:22
  not last long. After Ragnarok, Thor, Loki, and
• 7:26
  the surviving Asgardians were headed to Earth and a refugee
• 7:29
  ship, hoping to start fresh and rebuild their home.

  But at the start of Avengers Infinity War, Thanos showed up
• 7:37
  hunting for the Space Stone, which Loki still had.
• 7:41
  Thanos wiped out half the ship's passengers, including Heimdall,
• 7:46
  and before turning his attention to Loki.
• 7:49
  By then, Loki had finally started to change for the better
• 7:52
  and he made a last ditch effort to take Thanos out.
• 7:56
  Unfortunately, it did not work. Thanos caught him mid move and

  killed him by choking him to death.

  Just as Loki was trying to do the right thing, Loki's death
• 8:08
  hit Thor like a ton of bricks. He survived the attack, but the
• 8:11
  loss of his brother haunted him. He was eventually picked up by
• 8:15
  the Guardians of the Galaxy and set the stage for the rest of
• 8:17
  the fight against Thanos. Even though the original Loki
• 8:21
  died in Avengers Infinity War, a new version of him popped up
• 8:24
  thanks to The Avengers time travel mission.
• 8:26
  Five years later, during the time heist and end game, the
• 8:29
  team went back to 2012 to grab the Tesseract during the Battle
• 8:33
  of New York, but things did not go as planned.
• 8:35
  When do they? When do they?
• 8:37
  When time travels involved, Loki got his hands on the Tasser act
• 8:40
  and pieced out creating a whole new timeline.
• 8:45
  That little detour landed him on the radar of the Time Variance
• 8:48
  Authority, the TVA, which we first see in episode 1 of the
• 8:52
  Loki series. The TVA managed to shut down the
• 8:56
  branch timeline he created, but instead of erasing Loki, they
• 8:59
  brought him in for judgement. While there, he caught the
• 9:02
  attention of Agent Mobius M Mobius, who recruited him to
• 9:07
  help track down another version of Loki 1, causing serious
• 9:12
  trouble across the timeline. After traveling to the TVA,
• 9:15
  which exists outside of time and space, Loki eventually becomes
• 9:19
  acquainted with a female version of himself, the variant Sylvie,
• 9:24
  who is behind the recent attacks of the organization.

  The two joined forces upon realizing that a sinister work
• 9:32
  is being done at the TVA. They are sent to the Void where
• 9:37
  they discover mysterious fortress inhabited by He Who
• 9:40
  Remains. Upon finding He Who Remains,
• 9:44
  Loki and Sylvie learned that he is a variant of King the
• 9:47
  Conqueror and has been secretly scripting the events of the
• 9:50
  Sacred Timeline. The King variant offers them a
• 9:53
  choice to either kill him or accept his offer to rewrite the
• 9:56
  timeline as they see fit. Sylvie takes matters into her
• 10:00
  own hands, killing He Who Remains and sending Loki back in
• 10:04
  time. Where Mobius and the other TVA
• 10:07
  agents seem to have no memory of their history together, their
• 10:11
  audiences are left to wonder what will happen to Loki and if
• 10:15
  he will ever be able to defeat the evil King.

  The Conqueror variants running loose throughout the multiverse.

  We find out Loki eventually found out he'd be thrown back in
• 10:26
  time to an earlier era in the TVA's history.
• 10:29
  Thanks to his unstable new power to slip through time, he
• 10:33
  reconnected with his old TVA crew.
• 10:35
  Together they scrambled to stop the Time Loom, a massive device
• 10:39
  controlling the timelines from blowing up and taking the entire
• 10:42
  universe down with it. As it turns out, the Time Loom
• 10:46
  was designed to fail as a backup plan by He Who Remains, who is
• 10:50
  one of the many King variants. Tired of being stuck in a loop
• 10:54
  and playing by King's twisted rules, Loki spent what felt like
• 10:59
  centuries trying to different ways to fix things.

  Eventually, he realized there's only one real solution.
• 11:07
  Loki used his time slipping ability to dive straight into
• 11:11
  the chaos of the collapsing Loom.
• 11:14
  In doing so, he brought the multiverse back to life,
• 11:17
  literally rewriting fate. This act transformed him into
• 11:21
  the God of Stories, a powerful figure who now watches over the
• 11:24
  multiverse, free from He Who Remains control.
• 11:28
  The choice was selfless, heavy, and exactly what Loki needed to
• 11:32
  fully evolve from the Trickster to a true hero and ruler.
• 11:37
  His journey came full circle. And yes, he's confirmed to
• 11:41
  return in Avengers Doomsday, with Tom Hiddleston openly
• 11:45
  sharing how excited he is to step back into the role.
• 11:49
  So that is Loki in the MCUI. Think he is a fan favorite for
• 11:54
  sure. You can't not love him and Tom
• 11:57
  Hiddleston just knocks it out of the park every time he portrays
