- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means. Smart samone
- 0:06Speaker 2: on seven tenor.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Oh I'm here, I made it. I'm only a couple
- 0:18Speaker 3: of blocks away, so it was easy to get well,
- 0:19Speaker 3: I wouldn't say it was easy to get here. Even
- 0:21Speaker 3: walking just a block or two is not easy. It
- 0:25Speaker 3: is a mess outside. It is also eerie and gloomy outside.
- 0:29Speaker 3: It's pandemic like in that. If you do walk outside,
- 0:33Speaker 3: there's no traffic. I mean there's a car here and there,
- 0:38Speaker 3: and there are no pedestrians either. That's the eerie part.
- 0:42Speaker 3: You might look way down, this is the middle of Manhattan.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You may look to block or two down and see
- 0:47Speaker 3: one person walking into It's just like the pandemic. It's
- 0:50Speaker 3: very very quiet out there. The snow is messy. It's
- 0:54Speaker 3: wet snow. It's not the dry snow that now. The
- 0:56Speaker 3: wet snow is worse, harder to shovel, it's heavier, and
- 0:59Speaker 3: when it's on the tree branches or power poles, it
- 1:03Speaker 3: can get so heavy it can actually cause them to
- 1:07Speaker 3: break snap. That's we get these power outages. It's a
- 1:11Speaker 3: power outage. Wise, you got six hundred and forty thousand
- 1:15Speaker 3: people without power. That's up and down the East coast,
- 1:18Speaker 3: all the way down to Virginia. Now Here in this
- 1:21Speaker 3: area New York State, including New York City, Nassau, Suffolk
- 1:26Speaker 3: seventeen thousand people without power. And that's mostly Nassau, Suffolk Queens,
- 1:31Speaker 3: mostly Long Island, almost all of it is. Long Island
- 1:34Speaker 3: seventeen thousand without power. Connecticut thirteen thousand without power. New Jersey.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Listen to this number. One hundred and thirty seven thousand
- 1:44Speaker 3: without power, one hundred and thirty seven thousand without power.
- 1:48Speaker 3: The wind, the heavy snow, the wet snow, you got
- 1:51Speaker 3: the roads closed. In Manhattan, roads are officially closed except
- 1:56Speaker 3: for emergency travel. That's until noon today. Out Long Island.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I think I'm not sure. I think NASA is eleven.
- 2:05Speaker 3: They're talking about moving at to one o'clock. The snow
- 2:08Speaker 3: is lessening right now. It's still snowing, but it's much
- 2:12Speaker 3: much lighter snow. And that light snow will continue till
- 2:15Speaker 3: about five or six o'clock today. Should be all over
- 2:18Speaker 3: by five thirty six o'clock that'll be the end of it.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But when it's over, it's going to be a lot
- 2:22Speaker 3: of snow. We got fifteen inches in New York City
- 2:26Speaker 3: fifteen inches. You got eighteen inches in suburbs. New Jersey
- 2:32Speaker 3: got about eighteen inches some parts. It depends where you
- 2:35Speaker 3: are in New Jersey. South shore of Long Island got
- 2:38Speaker 3: the worst ice lip, reporting two feet of snow. The
- 2:42Speaker 3: Hampton's eighteen inches of snow. This was unusual in that
- 2:46Speaker 3: usually when you're along the coast you get off easier.
- 2:49Speaker 3: The more you go inland, the worse the snow. This
- 2:52Speaker 3: was different. This was a storm that hugged the shoreline,
- 2:55Speaker 3: so the closer word to the shore, the worse it was.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Snow wise unusual, flights are canceled everywhere. There are no
- 3:03Speaker 3: flights in or out of any of our airports, and
- 3:06Speaker 3: they've been canceled for so many hours, and it's going
- 3:09Speaker 3: to be a day or two so it may not
- 3:11Speaker 3: get back to normal till Wednesday or Thursday. So that's
- 3:15Speaker 3: going to be a mess if you gotta fly anywhere. Trains, well,
- 3:19Speaker 3: you got Metro North is Metro North is pretty good.
- 3:21Speaker 3: They're actually running. I mean there's some delays and not
- 3:24Speaker 3: all the trains, but Metro North seems to be operating okay.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Ther Long Island Railroad, of course, a total mess. It's
- 3:32Speaker 3: mostly shut down, believe or not. The New York City
- 3:34Speaker 3: subways are running. They're open. Couple of lines are suspended,
- 3:39Speaker 3: but plenty of subways are running with delays and some
- 3:43Speaker 3: low express are now local that kind of stuff, but there,
- 3:45Speaker 3: but they're running. Bridges are closed. Those bridges should reopen
- 3:50Speaker 3: later today. The bridges are closed not because of the snow.
- 3:52Speaker 3: You can plow the snow, but the bridges are closed
- 3:55Speaker 3: because of the winds forty to fifty sixty mile an
- 3:58Speaker 3: hour winds. You got to close the but that wind
- 4:01Speaker 3: is dying down. It should be pretty much the wind
- 4:03Speaker 3: should be pretty much over by tonight. National Guard has
- 4:07Speaker 3: been called out. You got part of the problem is
- 4:11Speaker 3: you're trying to get through this snowstorm with this kind
- 4:13Speaker 3: of leadership. You got Mamdani, you got HOCl you got
- 4:15Speaker 3: Mikey Cheryl. The schools are closed, and for the first
- 4:20Speaker 3: time in I think seven years, they're really closed. It's
- 4:24Speaker 3: none of that remote learning, which is a terrible day
- 4:28Speaker 3: for parents because they love when the kids go to
- 4:30Speaker 3: school for all those hours. Now you're stuck at home
- 4:32Speaker 3: with the kids. If you've got the remote learning, at
- 4:34Speaker 3: least it keeps them a little busy, but no remote learning.
- 4:37Speaker 3: It's a real snow day, an actual old fashioned schools
- 4:40Speaker 3: closed snow day. Here's Mayor mom, Donnie.
- 4:42Speaker 4: This will be New York City's first old school snow
- 4:45Speaker 4: day since twenty nineteen. The state requires us to conduct
- 4:49Speaker 4: one hundred and eighty days of education in a calendar year. However,
- 4:53Speaker 4: we believe that there are a unique set of extenuating
- 4:55Speaker 4: circumstances for tomorrow's education. We shared this with the State
- 5:00Speaker 4: Education Commissioner earlier this morning, and she has granted us
- 5:03Speaker 4: a waiver for which we are incredibly thankful. And to
- 5:06Speaker 4: kids across New York City, you have a very serious mission.
- 5:09Speaker 4: If you choose to accept it, stay cozy.
- 5:14Speaker 3: So you know, if you live in the suburbs, if
- 5:18Speaker 3: you really know what you're doing. You got one of
- 5:19Speaker 3: those snow shoveling services. It's usually also the landscaping serit,
- 5:24Speaker 3: but they come out every time it's snow boom, they
- 5:25Speaker 3: come out. Eighteen guys get out of the truck shovling. Now,
- 5:28Speaker 3: if you don't know what you do, and you hire
- 5:29Speaker 3: a neighborhood kid, although that's tough now, I used to
- 5:33Speaker 3: be able to hire the neighborhood. Yeah, twenty dollars to
- 5:35Speaker 3: shovel might drive. Now it's like two hundred, and they
- 5:37Speaker 3: don't want to do it, but believe or not, New
- 5:39Speaker 3: York City sort of operates this way. The sanitation department
- 5:44Speaker 3: cleans the snow, but they hire snow shovelers. I don't
- 5:46Speaker 3: know why now they do this, and they do it
- 5:50Speaker 3: for each storm. They put like ads everywhere where we
- 5:52Speaker 3: need snow shovelers. It's nineteen dollars an hour and they
- 5:57Speaker 3: need about four thousand of these freelance amateur snowshovels. Four thousand. Well,
- 6:02Speaker 3: they only got fourteen hundred this time. I think part
- 6:05Speaker 3: of the problem is nineteen dollars an hour doesn't attract
- 6:08Speaker 3: a lot of people nowadays in the middle of a snowstorm,
- 6:12Speaker 3: and the mayor getting a lot of flak because he's
- 6:16Speaker 3: requiring two types of ID, two photo IDs, a birth certificate.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Of course, when you want to vote there, do they
- 6:23Speaker 3: think photo ID is racist? It's suppressing the vote, it's racist.
- 6:28Speaker 3: But they're doing it for snow shoveling. And of course
- 6:31Speaker 3: he got all kinds of flak all over the place
- 6:34Speaker 3: for it and ridiculed for it. Now the difference is
- 6:38Speaker 3: with the snowshoveling, they have to issue you a paycheck.
- 6:42Speaker 3: You're actually put on the payroll, and that's a federal
- 6:44Speaker 3: requirement to pay somebody tax purposes, all that stuff. You
- 6:48Speaker 3: have to have all that id But Mom Donnie not
- 6:52Speaker 3: able to attract a normal amount of snowsholls.
- 6:54Speaker 4: So the starting pay for emergency snow shovelers is about
- 6:57Speaker 4: nineteen dollars an hour. After they work forty hours through
- 7:01Speaker 4: a week, that then increases to about twenty eight dollars
- 7:03Speaker 4: an hour. And thanks to the work of DS and
- 7:06Speaker 4: Y and so many others, we have expanded the pool
- 7:09Speaker 4: of emergency snow shovelers. In the previous storm, we were
- 7:13Speaker 4: looking at about five hundred emergency snow shovelers. Now that
- 7:16Speaker 4: pool has expanded to about fourteen hundred.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You got to admit, the guy really sounds like he
- 7:20Speaker 3: knows what he's doing. But when he talks, he gets
- 7:22Speaker 3: you usbou nineteen dollars an hour and then to move
- 7:23Speaker 3: to twenty eight dollars. And we've explained to the program
- 7:26Speaker 3: he really sounds like he knows what he's doing. I mean,
- 7:30Speaker 3: if he has to actually do it. He didn't know
- 7:31Speaker 3: what the ally's doing. But boy, when it comes to talking,
- 7:33Speaker 3: this guy sounds like he knows what he's doing. If
- 7:36Speaker 3: you wanted to actually do it, well that's a whole
- 7:38Speaker 3: other story. It's not going to get done. Then you
- 7:40Speaker 3: got this governor New Jersey, Mikey Cheryl with that that
- 7:44Speaker 3: she never doesn't sound like a governor.
- 7:46Speaker 5: We need to be prepared, We need to be safe,
- 7:48Speaker 5: get water, get all of your charging done with your devices,
- 7:52Speaker 5: stay off the roads.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Okay, that one was better. Sometimes she gets a little,
- 7:58Speaker 3: but we should talk. Look who we got for a governor.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We are asking you to just stay home. Stay home.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Is a nice diversion called the Olympics going on. There's
- 8:08Speaker 5: an important hockey game, the US versus ken I believe
- 8:11Speaker 5: around eight am. So stay home.
- 8:15Speaker 3: That's a diversion of Olympics. Would they pay like two
- 8:17Speaker 3: billion for the rights? It's a diversion. Isn't the Olympics over?
- 8:21Speaker 3: Is it still on? I don't know. I don't want
- 8:23Speaker 3: see Olympics, but I know the hockey was the big thing.
- 8:25Speaker 3: But I guess it's still on. But Hochel, it's a
- 8:28Speaker 3: great chance to you look like a governor. You get
- 8:31Speaker 3: to put on that bomber jacket.
- 8:32Speaker 5: And this forecast had shifted dramatically, and once again New
- 8:36Speaker 5: York State is in the crosshairs of a very dangerous,
- 8:39Speaker 5: fast moving, potentially life threatening winter storm.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Yeah, let me explain something because if you were listening
- 8:46Speaker 3: to me Friday, and I said that the storm is
- 8:48Speaker 3: going to be about one to three inches, and all
- 8:51Speaker 3: them the good Weather Service, there's a lot of junk
- 8:53Speaker 3: weather services out there are i't very accurate, but the
- 8:55Speaker 3: really good ones ACI Weather, Weather Channel, they're pretty good.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I mean they really accurate. It was one to three inches.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And then and some people think, well the weather they
- 9:06Speaker 3: like to hype it up. Eh, they're always wrong. They're
- 9:09Speaker 3: not really wrong. You can't find a case of them
- 9:10Speaker 3: being wrong or hyping it up. What happens is a
- 9:14Speaker 3: storm changes course. It could go this way, it could
- 9:17Speaker 3: go that way, even up to a day before. It
- 9:19Speaker 3: can change course, or it can slow down or speed up,
- 9:22Speaker 3: come at a different time, but it's mostly changing course.
- 9:25Speaker 3: On Friday, the course was that it would go way
- 9:28Speaker 3: offshore and miss us. We'd get a little bit of
- 9:31Speaker 3: it on the fringe, but it changed course and was
- 9:34Speaker 3: heading right for us. So The problem is people check
- 9:37Speaker 3: the weather on Friday and then don't check it again.
- 9:40Speaker 3: So when it's says one inch on Friday and you
- 9:42Speaker 3: get eighteen, they think the weather was wrong. Had you
- 9:44Speaker 3: been checking it all the time. As of like twenty
- 9:49Speaker 3: hours before the storm, they had it up to ten inches,
- 9:51Speaker 3: twelve inches, and then it got twelve to eighteen. So
- 9:54Speaker 3: the weather gets it right. You just have to keep
- 9:56Speaker 3: checking it. It's like a stock price. You can't look
- 9:59Speaker 3: at it Friday, that's the price today. So the State
- 10:02Speaker 3: of the Union speech is tomorrow night. That's going to
- 10:06Speaker 3: be a big, big thing Democrats. It's a big chance
- 10:10Speaker 3: for them to look ridiculous and childish and pout and
- 10:13Speaker 3: throw their temper tantrums. Member Nancy Pelosi ripping up the
- 10:17Speaker 3: President's speech one of the most disgusting, tacky, juvenile, tantrum,
- 10:21Speaker 3: child ridiculous things. So this year they're going to have
- 10:25Speaker 3: a separate state. They're going to have their own State
- 10:27Speaker 3: of the Union out in the park the National Mall.
- 10:31Speaker 3: It's going to look ridiculous. Chuck Schumer, a lot of
- 10:36Speaker 3: Democrats will be at that alternate stadium. Chuck Schumer will
- 10:39Speaker 3: go to the real one.
- 10:40Speaker 2: He says, as of now, because I respect the whole institution,
- 10:46Speaker 2: but I don't respect Donald Trump one bit, I will go.
- 10:52Speaker 2: But the bottom line is there are a lot of
- 10:54Speaker 2: my colleagues who aren't going to go, and I tell
- 10:56Speaker 2: him that I think that's fine with me. Everyone should
- 10:58Speaker 2: make his own choice.
- 11:00Speaker 3: If you hooked a light detector up to him, or
- 11:02Speaker 3: you injected him with truth theorem, he would be saying
- 11:05Speaker 3: to you, I don't like the President, but I am
- 11:08Speaker 3: gonna go. I think it's very important for me to
- 11:10Speaker 3: go because it's tons of TV cameras and because of
- 11:15Speaker 3: my feud with the President, they'll keep putting the camera
- 11:17Speaker 3: on me and I'll get a lot of FaceTime on camera,
- 11:20Speaker 3: and that's the reason I'm going. If you said the
- 11:24Speaker 3: check Shore that is gonna be a first stay of
- 11:26Speaker 3: the Union not televised, there'll be no cameras. He wouldn't
- 11:28Speaker 3: even be there. He's just there for the cameras. He's
- 11:30Speaker 3: got his new glasses, clean, the lenses and everything. He's
- 11:35Speaker 3: got one of those cheap suits that he'll wear, and
- 11:37Speaker 3: that's the only reason going to be on TV. Same
- 11:39Speaker 3: thing with Hakeem Jefferies. He knows being such an opponent.
- 11:43Speaker 3: They'll keep putting him on camera, and that's the only
- 11:46Speaker 3: reason he's going stay of the Union. The President will
- 11:48Speaker 3: talk about tariffs, all that stuff, and you know, we'll
- 11:56Speaker 3: get to this coming up. The tariff ruling by the
- 12:00Speaker 3: Supreme Court was a real chance for fake news to
- 12:04Speaker 3: go really old fashioned fake, you as fake as they
- 12:07Speaker 3: can go. So if you're watching even the ABC Sunday
- 12:11Speaker 3: Show or the nightly news, the headline when the tariff
- 12:15Speaker 3: declared illegal by the Court, the headline was President Trump's signature,
- 12:20Speaker 3: signature economic policy overturned by the Supreme stunning. First of all,
- 12:26Speaker 3: it's not his signature economic policies. Signature economic policy would
- 12:31Speaker 3: be the big beautiful bill. The tariff was one tool
- 12:34Speaker 3: in the toolbox with many tools in it. And the
- 12:38Speaker 3: other thing they kept lying about the President when he
- 12:41Speaker 3: heard the news, he did a press conference later where
- 12:43Speaker 3: he really went after the court and he basically said,
- 12:45Speaker 3: we're going to do the tariffs anyway. We'll find a
- 12:47Speaker 3: way to do him. We're going to keep doing them
- 12:49Speaker 3: no matter what the court says. And then all the
- 12:53Speaker 3: fake news, every newscast opened with unprecedented response, unprecedented res
- 13:00Speaker 3: but defying the court as is unprecedent. Now, of course,
- 13:03Speaker 3: this is a total lie by fake news. If you're
- 13:06Speaker 3: the MSNBC type, you're watching this like a bobblehead, you're nodding.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Then you're all repeating to each other. It's unprecedented the
- 13:12Speaker 3: way he It happens all the time. I'll give you
- 13:15Speaker 3: a recent example of what Joe Biden would forgive the
- 13:18Speaker 3: student loans. Supreme Court overturned it. Biden immediately held a
- 13:22Speaker 3: press conference announcing that he was going to defy the court.
- 13:24Speaker 3: He was going to do it anyway. He didn't care
- 13:26Speaker 3: what the hell the court said. He was going to
- 13:28Speaker 3: go ahead with the plan. They'll still find a way
- 13:30Speaker 3: to do it. It's done all the time. Whenever this
- 13:32Speaker 3: is a Supreme Court ruling democrats don't like, they just
- 13:36Speaker 3: ignore it and continue. Here's aoc on. This is a
- 13:39Speaker 3: few years ago Supreme Court ruling. She didn't like.
- 13:42Speaker 6: There has been thought, I believe given to this. Senator
- 13:44Speaker 6: Ron Wyden has already issued statements, for example, advising what
- 13:49Speaker 6: we should do in a situation like this, which I
- 13:51Speaker 6: concur which is that I believe that the Biden administration
- 13:54Speaker 6: should ignore this ruling.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a Democrat so way of handling Supreme Court
- 13:58Speaker 3: rulings they don't like totally norm and out and out
- 14:01Speaker 3: defy them. So it's not unprecedented. Thank you to NBC, CBSABC,
- 14:07Speaker 3: everybody for just out and out lying to their viewers.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Unprecedented response. So hey, mar Alago. This weekend, a assassin
- 14:15Speaker 3: showed up with a shotgun and a big can of gasoline,
- 14:20Speaker 3: got over the fence, went through the perimeter, was on
- 14:23Speaker 3: the property. Confronted by Secret Service and local police. They
- 14:29Speaker 3: told them to drop the weapon, drop the gas can.
- 14:31Speaker 3: They had their weapons out. They told him to drop
- 14:33Speaker 3: his weapon. Instead, he raised his weapon and aimed it
- 14:37Speaker 3: the shotgun, and of course then they shot and killed them.
- 14:42Speaker 3: There's something unusual about these assassins, the one in Butler, Pennsylvania,
- 14:46Speaker 3: this one on Saturday. These are the only they're young.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They're all like twenty, you know, twenty years old. They're
- 14:53Speaker 3: the only young people that have no social media presence
- 14:56Speaker 3: of any kind. Nothing very suspicious. It's very very very unusual.
- 15:02Speaker 3: So uh, and obviously he's not too great at using
- 15:06Speaker 3: the internet. If you check the President's schedule, he should
- 15:10Speaker 3: get on the list. We get we get sent the
- 15:12Speaker 3: President's schedule every night for the next day. If you
- 15:15Speaker 3: looked at the president's schedule, he was not going to
- 15:17Speaker 3: be in Florida this weekend. The big governor's conference was
- 15:21Speaker 3: at the White House Friday, and then Saturday night there's
- 15:23Speaker 3: a big dinner for all the governors at the White House.
- 15:26Speaker 3: So this was one weekend the president was not going
- 15:29Speaker 3: to be in Florida. So the assassin showed up with
- 15:32Speaker 3: his shotgun. No president there, just the old ladies of
- 15:35Speaker 3: mar Lago on the dining room going, oh my god,
- 15:39Speaker 3: did you hear? It was an assassin? He tried he
- 15:41Speaker 3: had a gun and he was gonna anyway. We'll text hey,
- 15:44Speaker 3: we're going to take some calls. Next, I want you
- 15:45Speaker 3: to call me from all over the Tri state area.
- 15:48Speaker 3: We'll get a snow report. Tell me what it's like
- 15:50Speaker 3: where you are. We'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred
- 15:53Speaker 3: three two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight
- 15:56Speaker 3: hundred three two one zero seven ten bed Mark on
- 16:01Speaker 3: Demand by setting a pre sad for his podcast on
- 16:04Speaker 3: the iHeartRadio app.
- 16:06Speaker 7: Now back to Mark Simon on w o R.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Well, it's a mess out there. It's bad in the city.
- 16:11Speaker 3: You got about fifteen inches, but not as bad as
- 16:14Speaker 3: some of the suburbs. Let's go take a look around
- 16:17Speaker 3: the Tri state area. Check out how everybody's doing. Let's
- 16:20Speaker 3: go to Arturo port Chester in Westchester, Portchester, Arturo.
- 16:26Speaker 8: How you doing, Yes, sir, no time, no talking. Listen,
- 16:31Speaker 8: I'm calling from westy Chapel with.
- 16:34Speaker 3: You're cutting out, you're calling from where chapel.
- 16:40Speaker 8: I don't know if you know that. I don't know
- 16:42Speaker 8: what what went on with the snow over there. So
- 16:46Speaker 8: what I want, what I want to say is the
- 16:48Speaker 8: President should an now announce in the State of the
- 16:51Speaker 8: Union tomorrow that all the h on the illegals are
- 16:54Speaker 8: going to become legal who have no crime. I'm going
- 16:57Speaker 8: to become Republican vote voters.
- 17:00Speaker 3: It's an old jokes that's all over the internet. De
- 17:03Speaker 3: clear them all. If they vote a Republican, they'll get
- 17:06Speaker 3: free citizenship and then Democrats will personally carry them over
- 17:10Speaker 3: the border and get rid of them. So, uh yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 3: port Chester, very nice. You got you got the best
- 17:16Speaker 3: Colony pizza, the best looking one in port Chester. You
- 17:20Speaker 3: got Sergio saw Pit, you got a beautiful Costco there.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Let's go to Peter in the Ulster County, Peter, how
- 17:26Speaker 3: you doing.
- 17:27Speaker 7: I'm doing marking good marks in Ulster County, New York,
- 17:31Speaker 7: near Kingston. So we got about eight inches of snow.
- 17:34Speaker 7: That's it morning, yep, just eight inches. And then it stopped.
- 17:38Speaker 7: And now it started to snow slightly again, but not
- 17:42Speaker 7: nearly as much as down south and Rockland, which around.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Fifteen All right, well, thanks for collings. See that's the thing. Normally,
- 17:50Speaker 3: the farther up you go, the more snow you get,
- 17:52Speaker 3: the closer yard of the coast, the less snow. This
- 17:55Speaker 3: storm is different, totally different. It hugged the shoreline and
- 18:01Speaker 3: it's so it's the opposite. The farther, more north yard,
- 18:05Speaker 3: the less you got to. I'm looking at some numbers.
- 18:07Speaker 9: Now.
- 18:07Speaker 3: The Hampton's twenty six inches, twenty six inches in the
- 18:11Speaker 3: Hampton's pretty bad. Even east Meadow Long Island twenty one inches.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Let's go to Jill upper east side. Jill, how you doing?
- 18:21Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm doing great.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Malk how are you doing?
- 18:23Speaker 3: I'm good? So to me.
- 18:26Speaker 11: I looked at the window this morning and it looks okay,
- 18:27Speaker 11: it's seen out of doctor Chivago. I almost okay by.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Wait wait, wait, let's clear this up. I know what
- 18:34Speaker 3: you mean, Okay, but it's different. You're on the Upper
- 18:37Speaker 3: east Side. It's not Doctor Zivago because in Doctor Xvago,
- 18:40Speaker 3: if you said hello to anybody, they would go, how
- 18:42Speaker 3: are you. It's a different And when you look out
- 18:46Speaker 3: your window you're seeing fourteen Starbucks, three bodegas. You didn't
- 18:50Speaker 3: see that in Doctor.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Sh No, no, no, don't.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I don't see that. I'm on a side street. But anyway,
- 18:56Speaker 1: there's a tree in front.
- 18:57Speaker 11: It looks like it's going to fall all over.
- 18:59Speaker 6: I mean, the snow is so it's so heavy.
- 19:05Speaker 3: What happened to your phone? Your phone went? I think
- 19:08Speaker 3: maybe the tree foul. It sound like you lost your
- 19:10Speaker 3: power there. I hope not. Let's go to George Port Jefferson,
- 19:13Speaker 3: north Shore along island. George.
- 19:15Speaker 9: How you doing fine? Mark? It's about twenty inches long Jefferson.
- 19:20Speaker 9: Twenty inches, Yeah, but it's very windy because we're by
- 19:23Speaker 9: the water and it's stopped. It's stopping. The snow is stopping.
- 19:27Speaker 9: The only bad part is I'm locked in the house
- 19:29Speaker 9: with my wife all day. You know, we argue, so
- 19:32Speaker 9: I can't escape because the guy hasn't come and plowed.
- 19:34Speaker 3: You know, this is a big problem. You got all
- 19:36Speaker 3: these governors, they're going too Just just stay home, Just
- 19:38Speaker 3: stay home and trapped with your wife for twenty one.
- 19:41Speaker 9: We'll kill each other. But one question. You know, Schumer
- 19:44Speaker 9: is very unpopular.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But.
- 19:48Speaker 9: Cortez I don't know. Could Cortes really kill him in
- 19:51Speaker 9: the Senate race? Of your opinion? Yes, yes, okay.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Schumer could not get elected nobody nobody, Uh, but you
- 19:59Speaker 3: can put anybody and there they could beat Schumer. Schumer
- 20:01Speaker 3: is repulsive, not just now to Republicans. Democrats are repulsed
- 20:06Speaker 3: by him. Younger voters just can't stand the vote for
- 20:09Speaker 3: anybody to get rid of them. Let's go to Joe
- 20:12Speaker 3: Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Joe, what's it like out there?
- 20:16Speaker 8: No, it's easy up.
- 20:17Speaker 9: We got thirteen inches here in Elmwood Park.
- 20:20Speaker 10: Well make you Shirley. Well, she needs the red nose
- 20:24Speaker 10: and big red shoes.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Clown shoes. I know. The governor. Well, that's uh. We
- 20:30Speaker 3: can't laugh about your governor because we got we got
- 20:32Speaker 3: Kathy Hochel. Soon we'll have Bruce Blackman. It will be
- 20:35Speaker 3: much better. Let's go to Ed in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
- 20:38Speaker 10: Ed.
- 20:38Speaker 3: How you doing putting again?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Mark?
- 20:41Speaker 8: Thanks for taking my call. And there it looks like
- 20:45Speaker 8: we got three to five injures and it's really not
- 20:48Speaker 8: even shovelable for me. So I think it's a little
- 20:51Speaker 8: ridiculous they closed in school. I think it's overtime up
- 20:54Speaker 8: overtime operations for these municipal workers. Frankly, I don't think
- 20:59Speaker 8: anything we got.
- 21:00Speaker 3: We got fifteen inches, eighteen inches. It could have been
- 21:02Speaker 3: just as bad. You never know.
- 21:04Speaker 8: I'm a daughter in Port Jack and your previous call
- 21:08Speaker 8: of just told me she's still sleeping. Tell me how
- 21:10Speaker 8: much I got? So yeah, thanks for that.
- 21:12Speaker 3: All right, thanks for calling. Let's go to Jimmy New Milford.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Where's that Connecticut? Right?
- 21:17Speaker 10: No, Mark, this is New Jersey, New Jersey, about two
- 21:20Speaker 10: miles away from the famous Paramus shopping wolves.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Mark, Hey, you sound like one of those guys in
- 21:27Speaker 3: The Irishman. You sound like you're in The Irishman telling
- 21:31Speaker 3: uh de Niro. Somebody's got to talk to him and
- 21:34Speaker 3: tell him to shut up.
- 21:35Speaker 10: You don't got to do nothing, but at anyway, it
- 21:39Speaker 10: damn is going to march on the Patty stap arade.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't think so. I wouldn't count that. All right, Now,
- 21:45Speaker 3: let me hear you. I don't think let me hear
- 21:47Speaker 3: you say. I want to hear you say. What were
- 21:49Speaker 3: you doing in Delaware?
- 21:52Speaker 10: What are you doing in Telaware? Don't have any place
- 21:55Speaker 10: at all?
- 21:56Speaker 3: No, Like Harvey Kake Tell in the movie So any
- 21:58Speaker 3: thanks for calling. Let's go to Phil and Queens. Phil.
- 22:01Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Hey?
- 22:02Speaker 11: How you doing? Sanitation's doing a great job here. I'm
- 22:05Speaker 11: there at Fresh Meadows, Jamaica Estates. They're Saint John's and
- 22:09Speaker 11: they're doing a great job. But I wanted to make
- 22:11Speaker 11: a comment. Man, Danny couldn't put salt down. He doesn't
- 22:16Speaker 11: know how he had a shovel the other day. The
- 22:18Speaker 11: guy has never done anything.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Okay, but wait, wait that you're talking about the three
- 22:22Speaker 3: weeks ago, four weeks ago snowstorm.
- 22:25Speaker 11: No, no, no, he had a shovel at a groundbreaking
- 22:29Speaker 11: It's like he never had a shovel in his hair.
- 22:31Speaker 3: And he well, he doesn't look like a guy who's
- 22:34Speaker 3: done construction work or anything. He doesn't exactly look He
- 22:36Speaker 3: looks like an elite college kid. Has never done it.
- 22:38Speaker 11: He doesn't know how to do anything.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Well, that's he knows how to talk. He's a good.
- 22:42Speaker 11: Talker, but a good talk around a fake, a fraudas
- 22:46Speaker 11: you know who.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Used to say, yeah, that's right. Yeah, Now the salt
- 22:50Speaker 3: will work. To say, here's the other thing. The last snowstorm,
- 22:53Speaker 3: it was ridiculously cold. It was like ten to fifteen degrees.
- 22:56Speaker 3: You know, salt doesn't work when it gets that cold.
- 23:00Speaker 3: It's not very effective when it snows, and it's like
- 23:03Speaker 3: thirty one thirty two. The salt work. So that's the
- 23:05Speaker 3: good news here, salt will work on this one. And
- 23:09Speaker 3: it looks like it'll all be over by about five
- 23:11Speaker 3: point thirty. That should be the on five to thirty
- 23:13Speaker 3: six around there. That'll be the end of it. The
- 23:15Speaker 3: snow is much less now. It's it's lightning up. I
- 23:19Speaker 3: mean it's falling at a much slower rate. In the
- 23:22Speaker 3: middle of the night, we're getting like two inches an hour.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Now we're getting like zero point two inches an hour.
- 23:27Speaker 3: So it's a big difference. And the winds are not
- 23:30Speaker 3: as bad. They were forty fifty miles an hour, they're
- 23:33Speaker 3: twenty thirty miles an hour.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Here.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Hey, when we come back, Ed Rollins, we'll talk to
- 23:37Speaker 3: the Dean himself, the great political analyst. What should the
- 23:39Speaker 3: president do tomorrow? Night's State of the Union. We'll ask
- 23:42Speaker 3: him in a moment on seven ten, wr his job?
- 23:47Speaker 4: Make it all make sense? He's marks amone on sevent ten.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Hey, let's talk to the Dean himself, Ed Rollins. Of course,
- 23:58Speaker 3: he's run a million pam pains. He's worked in a
- 24:01Speaker 3: lot of white houses. Nobody knows this stuff better, Ed Rollins,
- 24:04Speaker 3: How you doing good? Mark?
- 24:06Speaker 1: And then the weather being terrible all of us on
- 24:09Speaker 1: the East coast.
- 24:09Speaker 3: There, Yeah, it's it's a mess. Hey, tomorrow Night's State
- 24:14Speaker 3: of the Union speech? What does the President need to
- 24:16Speaker 3: accomplish in that speech?
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's a very big speech. There's a lot of things
- 24:21Speaker 1: on his plate. He needs to explain to the American public.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I was going to bring a government back into in
- 24:27Speaker 1: the functioning, especially with the weather and what have you
- 24:29Speaker 1: in FEMA and the and the Homeland security stuff being out. Secondly,
- 24:34Speaker 1: he's got to explain to the American public and he's
- 24:36Speaker 1: going to do anything in Iran. This is a chance
- 24:38Speaker 1: for him to do that, set the tone and say
- 24:42Speaker 1: I want peace and why I want peace? If that's
- 24:44Speaker 1: the case. The third thing that he needs to any
- 24:47Speaker 1: deal on is he's clearly convincing people that this tariff
- 24:51Speaker 1: plan was correct and he's got obviously out of the court.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Is this rule that he can't use this particular provision
- 25:00Speaker 1: why he wants to continue to move that ball forward.
- 25:04Speaker 1: To a certain extent, it's a terrible time for his tigers,
- 25:08Speaker 1: which is another element here, because the new provisions that
- 25:12Speaker 1: he has, he can put some of the provisions some
- 25:15Speaker 1: of the terrorists back in, but in five months the
- 25:18Speaker 1: Congress has to approve it. Five months is right at
- 25:20Speaker 1: the heart of a campaign. He basically Democrats are going
- 25:25Speaker 1: to say this is a tax, raising taxes. He's got
- 25:27Speaker 1: to make the case that's what he wants, just the opposite.
- 25:31Speaker 1: So he's got a big speech. He can't can't stand
- 25:33Speaker 1: up there to attack the court because he doesn't like
- 25:35Speaker 1: the court, doesn't like the decision. He's got to deal
- 25:37Speaker 1: with this court and they don't care. Most of the
- 25:40Speaker 1: people in the country don't know who's on the court,
- 25:43Speaker 1: let alone who the names are. So I think to
- 25:45Speaker 1: a certain extent, he can't get in a fight with
- 25:48Speaker 1: the court. There's too many provisions that he needs at
- 25:50Speaker 1: this point in time to fight with him. By an alternatives,
- 25:57Speaker 1: when it.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Comes to defying the court, it's done all the time.
- 25:59Speaker 3: The last time we is Biden, the student loan stuff
- 26:02Speaker 3: was ruled illegal and Biden said, I'll defy them. I'll
- 26:04Speaker 3: do it anyway. So it's it's not unprecedented.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Is it. No, it's not unprecedent. What happened to Biden?
- 26:11Speaker 1: Where Biden it's on the beach.
- 26:13Speaker 3: All right?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Uh?
- 26:15Speaker 3: And then when it comes to Iran, you're talking about
- 26:17Speaker 3: the most evil regime in the world, slaughtering people, Uh,
- 26:23Speaker 3: funding terrorism, trying to get rid of Israel. Do we
- 26:26Speaker 3: really need to explain why we want regime change?
- 26:29Speaker 1: Well, I don't think we have to explain it. If
- 26:31Speaker 1: we're going to do it, we need to basically get
- 26:34Speaker 1: creation of the Congress to do it. You know, he's
- 26:36Speaker 1: got a third of the Navy sitting off the coast there.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And then, you know, I think the American public doesn't
- 26:42Speaker 1: want to have another war in the Middle East on
- 26:45Speaker 1: the last couple of miserable failures. And I think the
- 26:48Speaker 1: reality is, you know, there's lots of lots of things
- 26:51Speaker 1: he can do at this point in time. He can't
- 26:52Speaker 1: raise expectations. He raised expectations a couple weeks ago, telling
- 26:56Speaker 1: the people when they writny people just stay in the
- 26:58Speaker 1: streets out there. Can't do that again. Whatever your plan is,
- 27:02Speaker 1: you've got to basically implement it, explaining the American public
- 27:05Speaker 1: why get to get Congress and the dialogue tries to
- 27:09Speaker 1: do it alone and it becomes a disaster. Uh, disasters,
- 27:13Speaker 1: American kids getting killed. Yeah, when I'm going to lose,
- 27:17Speaker 1: that is important. The cost of a war in the
- 27:21Speaker 1: Middle East is enormous. Uh uh you know all oil
- 27:25Speaker 1: that comes out of that area. Uh. You know, it's
- 27:27Speaker 1: not gonna be a quick thing like Venezuela as it's
- 27:30Speaker 1: you know, there's no there's no quick wars anymore. And
- 27:33Speaker 1: you can well up, you do rectors, and you can
- 27:36Speaker 1: go down and take some guy out at the top
- 27:38Speaker 1: in Venezuela. But this is this is an administration that
- 27:43Speaker 1: thinks that God has put them there and that they
- 27:44Speaker 1: are the gods. Uh. And then we have to explain
- 27:47Speaker 1: why why we want to change it?
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Uh, Hey, what does the Democrats need to do tomorrow?
- 27:52Speaker 3: The state of the Union. Usually they do something to
- 27:54Speaker 3: embarrass themselves. They look rude and obnoxious. How should they
- 27:59Speaker 3: behave tomorrow?
- 28:00Speaker 1: They're both people, I mean the problem is that he
- 28:03Speaker 1: is a show. They're they're feeling very empowered at this
- 28:06Speaker 1: point in time when they should be or not that
- 28:09Speaker 1: their numbers aren't much better than the presidents, but I
- 28:11Speaker 1: think to a certain extent, they feel they have some momentum.
- 28:14Speaker 1: They don't have any policies that they are appealing in
- 28:17Speaker 1: the country, But at the same time, they're the alternative,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and I think being being the alternative the better place
- 28:24Speaker 1: right now than trying to basically deal with r serious agenda. So, uh,
- 28:28Speaker 1: you know, they're performed, they'll they'll do something, but you know,
- 28:32Speaker 1: it's it's it's the president's show, and people are going
- 28:35Speaker 1: to tune in to watch what he says, what he does.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, there's no law that you have to
- 28:41Speaker 3: do it in front of Congress. And some people are
- 28:43Speaker 3: saying if they if the Democrats got rude and disruptive
- 28:46Speaker 3: this time, next time, don't do the State of the
- 28:48Speaker 3: Union in Congress. Do it somewhere, do it in front
- 28:50Speaker 3: of my rushmore, do do it in some other setting.
- 28:52Speaker 1: What do you president to make a speech? President make
- 28:55Speaker 1: a speech anytime he wants to. Yeah, and there's no
- 28:57Speaker 1: as you say, there's there's nothing requires a president to
- 29:00Speaker 1: do a state of the state of the Union. Uh,
- 29:03Speaker 1: it's a tradition, it's not a and I think to
- 29:05Speaker 1: a certain extent, you want to use it to basically
- 29:08Speaker 1: make your case in your argument. He just has to
- 29:11Speaker 1: be very careful and and not he has to be
- 29:14Speaker 1: a sales He has to basically show that he's not
- 29:17Speaker 1: a nasty man, that this is not this is not petty.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Those are not going to vote for pets. You're not
- 29:25Speaker 1: going to president's party. Uh, that he wants someone whose
- 29:29Speaker 1: strong project strength. Uh, and that he's in charge. He
- 29:33Speaker 1: knows what's happening with the country and he has it's
- 29:36Speaker 1: tough case to make, but he's got to convince the
- 29:38Speaker 1: voters that that the economy is going to get better
- 29:41Speaker 1: and that and the fields that they passed will help
- 29:44Speaker 1: in time. But at the same time public doesn't weigh
- 29:48Speaker 1: that yet, so you can't can't take them for granted.
- 29:50Speaker 1: You've got you got to be super salesman, which he
- 29:53Speaker 1: traditionally has been an effective salesman. But that's what he's
- 29:56Speaker 1: going to do. If he doesn't do that, he gets petty. Uh.
- 29:59Speaker 1: If they he gets teddy to him, they'll get penny
- 30:01Speaker 1: back to them. And if everybody hates the Congress and
- 30:04Speaker 1: everybody hates the president. The president's party loses. He's the charge,
- 30:09Speaker 1: his parties in charge, and they expect them they do things.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Yeah, ro let me ask you them. I know the
- 30:13Speaker 3: president pretty well. I can see it in his face
- 30:15Speaker 3: sometimes where he came from a very glamorous life, but
- 30:18Speaker 3: he likes being president. But I can see it now.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I can see him getting a little bored and restless
- 30:22Speaker 3: at times. Did you ever have that problem like with
- 30:23Speaker 3: Reagan where he felt a little confined in the White
- 30:26Speaker 3: House that got a little bored.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Well, the second second terms are hard, and you know
- 30:32Speaker 1: he had set Our second term was right after the
- 30:34Speaker 1: first term, in four years in between. And I think
- 30:37Speaker 1: to a certain extent, the president's been dominating this economy
- 30:40Speaker 1: and this program for a long period of time. He
- 30:44Speaker 1: now has more power, actual power than any president since
- 30:48Speaker 1: Lynnon Johnson, Kitty Roosevelt Republican, and Franklin Roosevelt Democrat. So
- 30:54Speaker 1: he's taken a lot of power. He has to do
- 30:56Speaker 1: some things for that power, and I think to a
- 30:58Speaker 1: certain extent he's got to sell it. Post of all,
- 31:00Speaker 1: you're going to sell it. Yeah, And there's always the
- 31:02Speaker 1: traditional change in the midterms, and and there's no reason,
- 31:06Speaker 1: you know, there's not a lot of seats that are
- 31:07Speaker 1: betting Competitive've gonna be twenty five, maybe thirty seats with
- 31:09Speaker 1: most that it could be competitive, and you've got to
- 31:12Speaker 1: win that win a majority of them.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Pat Yeah, all right, well, not.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Too late, just just he just needs to be in
- 31:18Speaker 1: his persuasive best.
- 31:19Speaker 3: All right, good stuff, ed Rollins. Great is always. Thanks
- 31:22Speaker 3: for being with us. My pleasure that all right, take care. Well,
- 31:28Speaker 3: we've got a lot to get to coming up. We'll
- 31:29Speaker 3: get we'll get you all the latest on the storm.
- 31:32Speaker 3: It's winding down. It'll all be over by five thirty
- 31:35Speaker 3: or six. If you're thinking of flying somewhere, forget it.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Every airport is closed, all the flights are canceled. It's
- 31:40Speaker 3: an absolute mess if you want to get around in
- 31:43Speaker 3: New York, believe it or not. The subways are working,
- 31:46Speaker 3: and not every single line, but they're working a lot
- 31:49Speaker 3: of delays. And I know the mayor has declared an emergency.
- 31:55Speaker 3: The roads are closed. But if you look out the window,
- 31:57Speaker 3: every so often you see a cab go by, you
- 31:59Speaker 3: see an uber go by, so and there are cars
- 32:03Speaker 3: out there, not a lot, Hey, don't forget Buck Sexton,
- 32:06Speaker 3: Klay Travis. They got an excellent show coming up at
- 32:09Speaker 3: noon today. Buck has a new book coming out. We'll
- 32:12Speaker 3: talk about it on the show later in the week.
- 32:14Speaker 3: And then three o'clock today, you got the most listened
- 32:16Speaker 3: to radio show in America. Sean Hannity got Jesse Kelly.
- 32:20Speaker 3: At six, you got the very funny Jimmy Failer. You
- 32:24Speaker 3: got to listen to this. It's a great show every
- 32:26Speaker 3: night at nine. Here on seven to ten, woir.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Here's more of the Mark Simung Show on wor.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Well mayor Mom Donnie. Not making the same dumb mistake
- 32:39Speaker 3: last time leaving the homeless out there on the street
- 32:42Speaker 3: in a blizzard. We had seventeen deaths as a result
- 32:45Speaker 3: of that. This time it's different.
- 32:46Speaker 4: We have put our city in an enhanced Code blue.

- 32:55Speaker 4: regarding homeless New Yorkers in need of assistance to nine
- 32:57Speaker 4: one one, but we are also opening up twenty two
- 33:01Speaker 4: warming buses, eleven H and H warming spaces, thirteen DOE

- 33:29Speaker 3: thirty six degrees, so that'll help melt some of the snow.

- 33:38Speaker 3: on Wednesday forty degrees and it'll stay near forty for
- 33:41Speaker 3: the rest of the week. That should melt all the snow.
- 33:44Speaker 3: So unlike last time, we'll get rid of this snow.
- 33:46Speaker 3: It looks like a little rain on Wednesday Wednesday night,
- 33:49Speaker 3: so that'll help get rid of the snow, so it
- 33:51Speaker 3: won't be as bad as last time. It'll remain for weeks.
- 33:54Speaker 3: We got another hour and a lot to get to.
