- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's time now for a car talk with Brad Dungeons
- 0:08Speaker 1: with Dungeons, Toyota and Brad. Welcome to another beautiful sort
- 0:13Speaker 1: of beautiful Thursday.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's well, yeah.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Right now in the studio, it's a balmy seventy.
- 0:21Speaker 3: It's usually freezing in here. That's just a little bit
- 0:25Speaker 3: of rain this morning. It's not quite so it's not
- 0:28Speaker 3: the air conditioners not cranked up yet. That'll happen this afternoon.
- 0:31Speaker 3: But sure you brought friends.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I did.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I got my great friend Lisa carry here from the
- 0:37Speaker 3: Parlos very United Way.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Good morning, Lisa, Good.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Morning, Brad. Thank you for the inviitation to be here.
- 0:43Speaker 3: It's great to have you here and hear about everything
- 0:45Speaker 3: going on at the United Way. There's always I mean,
- 0:49Speaker 3: we're getting ready for the big, big part. Your part
- 0:52Speaker 3: of the year is the focus. Yes, the program goes
- 0:56Speaker 3: on all year. The you know, uh, you know, we
- 0:59Speaker 3: often have United Way sponsored organizations on the show.
- 1:04Speaker 2: We had one last week. I wanted a couple of
- 1:07Speaker 2: weeks more.
- 1:09Speaker 3: It's a theme, I don't know, not really deliberate, I guess,
- 1:13Speaker 3: but there is a lot of crossover and what you
- 1:17Speaker 3: guys do to help connect all those organizations.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And make that another thing we talk about.
- 1:23Speaker 3: On the show a lot, that network of what that
- 1:28Speaker 3: makes Bartlesville just I think for a city our size,
- 1:33Speaker 3: just unique because we're so strong and having organizations that
- 1:37Speaker 3: thrive regardless of what's going on in the economy or
- 1:42Speaker 3: and the rest of the world. Bartlesville's always had this
- 1:46Speaker 3: focus and it's all about local people coming together to
- 1:50Speaker 3: help local people.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Well On Behalf of other nonprofits and the United Way,
- 1:54Speaker 5: thank you for your amazing support you have for our community.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Because of partners like you and the radio that we're
- 2:03Speaker 5: able to fill in some gaps so people can you know,
- 2:08Speaker 5: united together, we can thrive.
- 2:10Speaker 4: And we believe that every individual has the right to thrive.
- 2:14Speaker 4: It may not be what my definition of thrive.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Is, but I do believe that we are. Our community
- 2:22Speaker 5: is so so incredible. Just when I think, oh, we're
- 2:26Speaker 5: not going to make our campaign gole.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Something happens and we do.
- 2:31Speaker 5: But thank you on Behalf of the Nonprofits for having
- 2:34Speaker 5: an opportunity for us.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You know that's me.
- 2:37Speaker 3: That's something you know, the legacy it just is it
- 2:42Speaker 3: includes that because the I mean my my family has
- 2:46Speaker 3: been in the car business for ninety ninety seventh year
- 2:50Speaker 3: and wow. And but the story it was back a
- 2:55Speaker 3: few years earlier in that my grandfather and his mother
- 2:59Speaker 3: and brothers and sisters, their father died and they moved
- 3:03Speaker 3: from Blackwell to Tonkawaw so that my great grandmother could work,
- 3:09Speaker 3: and she went to work at the library.
- 3:10Speaker 2: She had to start working.
- 3:12Speaker 3: And my great grandfather had been a Methodist minister in
- 3:17Speaker 3: Blackwell and he passed away and they moved and the
- 3:21Speaker 3: community took care of him.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Some of the boys went to work at.
- 3:24Speaker 3: The Ford dealership there and that's how we first started
- 3:28Speaker 3: and engaged with a dealership. And then when they went
- 3:31Speaker 3: off to college, all the kids graduated from college. My
- 3:35Speaker 3: grant grandmother was educated. She had a college degree. She
- 3:38Speaker 3: was kind of rare for a woman at that time.
- 3:41Speaker 2: But it was.
- 3:45Speaker 3: That impact that the Ford dealer being generous to them.
- 3:49Speaker 3: He later helped them buy his dealership he was retiring,
- 3:53Speaker 3: and in nineteen twenty nine they bought his Ford dealership.
- 3:56Speaker 3: And when my grandmother and grandfather moved from Tunkawah to
- 4:01Speaker 3: Bartlesville in nineteen forty one, you know, they they started
- 4:07Speaker 3: supporting organizations and helping kids and you know, that's you know,
- 4:13Speaker 3: that's one of the purposes I have and being in
- 4:17Speaker 3: the business still it's not you know, we gave up
- 4:21Speaker 3: a long time ago and trying to sell every car
- 4:24Speaker 3: everybody in the world, and we're focused on Bartlesville. We
- 4:29Speaker 3: just have this one dealership with our employees, the community
- 4:34Speaker 3: or what we focus on and that, you know, that's
- 4:37Speaker 3: the strength of Bartlesville. Really it makes us love to
- 4:41Speaker 3: do that.
- 4:42Speaker 5: That's an incredible legacy and an amazing story. I have
- 4:47Speaker 5: personal experience with the dealership as recent as getting a
- 4:52Speaker 5: little damaged that John put on my car and that
- 4:58Speaker 5: they were just the customer.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Your service was just and it was great.
- 5:04Speaker 5: And you could tell your culture is really dependent on
- 5:09Speaker 5: having people that work with you, that believe in your mission.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So it shines through that is that's great to hear it.
- 5:17Speaker 3: It is something we're really intentional about is taking care
- 5:20Speaker 3: of people, doing it, focusing our processes around people and
- 5:24Speaker 3: not profit. Nothing that we don't need to make a profit,
- 5:27Speaker 3: but but but we figure if we take care of
- 5:30Speaker 3: our customers and the community, they'll take care of us.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And it's likewise.
- 5:34Speaker 3: With the employees because and that because that relationship for
- 5:39Speaker 3: all these years, really we wouldn't be here if it
- 5:41Speaker 3: weren't for our great employees. And so that that whole
- 5:45Speaker 3: dynamic relationship is what makes uh, you know, business work.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And from my point of view, and and you know,
- 5:53Speaker 3: in a lot of ways, communities and things like the
- 5:55Speaker 3: United Way and and you know, it's not a it's
- 5:59Speaker 3: not lip service for us to support organizations like you
- 6:03Speaker 3: guys and and all the organizations you support and many
- 6:06Speaker 3: others too. It's it is h it's uh, it's an
- 6:10Speaker 3: important part of our real our values and that that
- 6:15Speaker 3: that is uh, you know, that's I think hopefully it's
- 6:19Speaker 3: what makes uh dungeus unique of Arlesville unique.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Well, you've got a lot of stuff coming up with
- 6:28Speaker 3: your campaign getting kicked off soon and a big event
- 6:33Speaker 3: Loha in the Tropics after dark, Yes, after dark and
- 6:38Speaker 3: will it be dark at six pm?
- 6:41Speaker 5: We're going to pretend we're gonna we're gonna use our
- 6:45Speaker 5: willing suspense of disbelief to put us in uh the mood.
- 6:50Speaker 2: For we have to transport to Hawaii for Aloha.
- 6:54Speaker 4: And we had to I would take it one for
- 6:56Speaker 4: the team, would you now yes, and we are.
- 7:02Speaker 5: This is our second year for a low hall after dark,
- 7:05Speaker 5: and we have so many things that are that are
- 7:08Speaker 5: going to be available for us to network with people
- 7:12Speaker 5: and connect with people and have fun at the same time.
- 7:16Speaker 5: So it's July twenty fifth. It starts at six pm.
- 7:19Speaker 5: It's at the oce Age Casinos. We still have seats available.
- 7:23Speaker 5: We really would love to have the place sold out,
- 7:27Speaker 5: and we've got some work to do to get there, Brad,
- 7:29Speaker 5: But I just want to let you know that we've
- 7:33Speaker 5: been planning this for a long time and Kate this
- 7:36Speaker 5: was my marketing and events employee, Katie's On's vision and
- 7:42Speaker 5: it was just spot on. And we've had a lot
- 7:44Speaker 5: of buy in from a lot of our community volunteers
- 7:49Speaker 5: that are like, yeah, this is.
- 7:50Speaker 4: So much fun, so tell us what happens.
- 7:54Speaker 5: That's one of the best things about this is that
- 7:57Speaker 5: it's short.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I mean, it's summer, usually hot.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Nobody wants to sit around and listen for three hours
- 8:06Speaker 5: about stuff.
- 8:07Speaker 4: But we do have.
- 8:08Speaker 5: A intentional moment where we're able to share some data
- 8:13Speaker 5: and stories about what United Way is all about. We
- 8:16Speaker 5: have a dinner, there'll be a silent it's all Hawaiian themed.
- 8:22Speaker 5: We're not doing the cheeseburgers in Paradise this year because
- 8:25Speaker 5: we wanted to kind of incorporate some more tropical food.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And we will you know, there's going to be a
- 8:32Speaker 4: silent auction.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I'll have a few words, My board president Robert Reeves
- 8:37Speaker 5: will have a few words, and then we will get
- 8:42Speaker 5: into the live auction. And it is so much fun
- 8:46Speaker 5: because we have Jonie from Pahaska teed up to go
- 8:50Speaker 5: for us, and we're so excited about that. The event
- 8:54Speaker 5: chairs this year are Brent and Joan Butler.
- 8:58Speaker 4: If you know them, they know how to have a
- 9:00Speaker 4: good time and they.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Are I mean, they are so passionate about helping the
- 9:05Speaker 5: community and have fun.
- 9:06Speaker 4: So at that at.
- 9:09Speaker 5: The event, we will have them choosing the best dressed
- 9:14Speaker 5: for the for alo the spirit.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you definitely should.
- 9:21Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, if you want to wear black
- 9:23Speaker 5: or gray, that's fine, but let's try to bring some
- 9:25Speaker 5: color into the room so you know, it just it's
- 9:29Speaker 5: just our kickoff. Then then starts all the stuff. I mean,
- 9:33Speaker 5: we've been, like you said, been working year round doing
- 9:36Speaker 5: some preparations, especially for our golf tournament. Yes, yes, and
- 9:48Speaker 5: I'll be requesting what you usually help us.
- 9:53Speaker 4: But he's still in it.
- 9:55Speaker 5: We're gonna have a lot of great merchandise and are
- 9:59Speaker 5: in the that.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Golf tournament is a cool thing because you you raise
- 10:03Speaker 3: a lot of money with that.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it brings in people from.
- 10:07Speaker 3: All over, Oh it does and all the and it's
- 10:11Speaker 3: kind of one of those arm twisting leverage things. Yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 3: you know because Andy comes from Houston now and Alaska.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I have to talk to Ry touch up on what's
- 10:25Speaker 3: been going on. But that's uh yeah, I mean it
- 10:28Speaker 3: is one of those things where it really is.
- 10:30Speaker 2: This impactful thing. It's not just a round of golf's right,
- 10:34Speaker 2: It's it's really a big deal.
- 10:37Speaker 5: We have a saying that it's more than golf. It's
- 10:42Speaker 5: like a family reunion. I mean really to see the people.
- 10:46Speaker 5: I've been doing this job ten years and seeing the
- 10:50Speaker 5: vendors is it's it's the favorite week of my work
- 10:54Speaker 5: because I love being out there. I love that people
- 10:56Speaker 5: come and visit our really cool to city, and then
- 11:01Speaker 5: I love how much money it generate for our community.
- 11:05Speaker 5: We did set a record last year and raised one
- 11:07Speaker 5: point two million, so we are really hopeful we will
- 11:12Speaker 5: get there this year. But no matter what you said
- 11:15Speaker 5: it earlier, no matter what's happening in the world, no
- 11:18Speaker 5: matter what the economy is doing, Bartlesville steps up and
- 11:23Speaker 5: they allow us to be able to rise above what
- 11:28Speaker 5: is going on in other parts of our beautiful country.
- 11:31Speaker 5: But it is people like you and that we're we're
- 11:37Speaker 5: asking to advocate for us and to volunteer and give,
- 11:41Speaker 5: and we will. You know, I can tell you, I
- 11:43Speaker 5: honestly want you to know that the monies we raised
- 11:46Speaker 5: stay local.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's one of the great things about the United
- 11:50Speaker 3: Way is that there is you know, it's well structured,
- 11:54Speaker 3: it's got you know, you guys know what you're doing.
- 11:57Speaker 3: As far as the fundraising goes on. I mean, that's
- 12:01Speaker 3: that's that's hard. I mean, but your strengthen that actually
- 12:04Speaker 3: helps all these organizations because it's at the organizational level.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I've been there.
- 12:09Speaker 3: It's not always easy to get that that you have
- 12:13Speaker 3: a lot of passionate people and you know, but you've
- 12:16Speaker 3: got to expand that to be able to really raise
- 12:20Speaker 3: money enough to meet your mission often and so that
- 12:24Speaker 3: the United Way gives kind of a platform for those
- 12:27Speaker 3: who do it.
- 12:27Speaker 2: And then you have I mean, you know, we've talked
- 12:30Speaker 2: before about it.
- 12:31Speaker 3: But there's a lot of requirements that organizations have to
- 12:35Speaker 3: do to be a part of the United Way and
- 12:38Speaker 3: that kind of creates some accountability on their part and
- 12:42Speaker 3: that gives the funders and assurance that they're giving something
- 12:47Speaker 3: that's really you know, done well. And to talk about
- 12:50Speaker 3: how that accountability.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Works and well, by the way.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Does to make sure the organizations are are.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Strong, I think, I really because it is just about
- 13:01Speaker 3: it's really about strength.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Right it is.
- 13:03Speaker 5: So we you know, we're part of the United Way worldwide,
- 13:06Speaker 5: but what makes us unique is that we're locally governed
- 13:10Speaker 5: by our Board of directors and we have our own
- 13:14Speaker 5: five on one C three. So what that does is
- 13:17Speaker 5: we you know, our applications for our eight partner programs
- 13:22Speaker 5: go out in about January and then we had this year,
- 13:26Speaker 5: I think we had ninety five community volunteers come in
- 13:30Speaker 5: and they're assigned an agency and there's about six six
- 13:37Speaker 5: members in each committee.
- 13:39Speaker 4: They review that process. They they make.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Sure that everything is going the way that we are
- 13:47Speaker 5: being good stewards of the donor dollars, and that's in
- 13:50Speaker 5: three meetings. So actually they've we wrapped all of those
- 13:54Speaker 5: up and we are going to present it to our
- 14:00Speaker 5: Board of Directors on our July board meeting at the
- 14:03Speaker 5: end of this month, and they'll approve what they think
- 14:08Speaker 5: is the good being a good steward. So we've really
- 14:12Speaker 5: focused on that. It's not about a got you, It's
- 14:17Speaker 5: about I've got your back.
- 14:19Speaker 4: So and it had you know, sometimes we help.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Agencies and programs tell tell their story through some of
- 14:27Speaker 5: the measurements that we've obtained. But I'm super proud of
- 14:32Speaker 5: Joanie doctor Hall. She has really made that process really
- 14:36Speaker 5: go smoothly. And my you know, there's only four of
- 14:40Speaker 5: us in the office. We're small but binding. So we
- 14:45Speaker 5: and then we have Shelley. Shelley is amazing. She's my
- 14:48Speaker 5: executive assistant. She's done a ton.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Of stuff just to make sure that we are looking through.
- 14:54Speaker 5: The lens of are is this a good use of
- 14:57Speaker 5: our community funds? And if it's not, then we have to,
- 15:03Speaker 5: you know, kind of figure out what we could do.
- 15:05Speaker 4: But you know, for years it was Live United was
- 15:08Speaker 4: the cat.
- 15:09Speaker 5: We've done a brand refresh and now it's United is
- 15:12Speaker 5: the Way Okay, So I'm really excited about that. And
- 15:17Speaker 5: I have Tom will be surprised, but I have some
- 15:20Speaker 5: T shirts that.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I'm going to be giving away.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Now you just might get clocked if you walk in
- 15:25Speaker 1: the doors.
- 15:26Speaker 6: You got a shirt there you go yeah, yeah, So
- 15:31Speaker 6: they look really nice this year, so be on the
- 15:34Speaker 6: lookout for those and menching shirts.
- 15:37Speaker 4: These a low haul after dark.
- 15:40Speaker 5: These shirts will be for sell ad our events. This
- 15:43Speaker 5: is the latter, probably the last year we're able to
- 15:45Speaker 5: use this because of the brandy refresh I mentioned. It
- 15:50Speaker 5: doesn't some of these colors aren't in our brand. Yeah, yes, yes,
- 15:58Speaker 5: but you know, sently looking at our how we're dispersing
- 16:04Speaker 5: our funds is something I think is the most important
- 16:07Speaker 5: thing Unitedly does is that we you know, I don't
- 16:11Speaker 5: tell money.
- 16:12Speaker 4: If I were making the decisions, everybody would get a
- 16:16Speaker 4: lot of stuff because that's just me. But having that.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Reviewed by community members then before a board of directors
- 16:24Speaker 5: such a great process.
- 16:25Speaker 3: I've always been fascinated by the process. And it's one
- 16:29Speaker 3: of those things people may not know about, you know,
- 16:31Speaker 3: and they may give some money or not, but they
- 16:35Speaker 3: you know this whole to understand that it really is
- 16:38Speaker 3: about strengthening the organizations and the community at the same time,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and you know, so that it really kind of multiplies
- 16:46Speaker 3: your gift.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think, you know, that's always been the something that
- 16:50Speaker 2: we talked about, but I think it's true.
- 16:53Speaker 4: It is. I mean, thank you for bringing it up.
- 16:56Speaker 5: It's so amazing to see that attitude that we that
- 17:01Speaker 5: the community has for our for our agencies, our program partners.
- 17:06Speaker 4: They're the real heroes in this.
- 17:08Speaker 5: We're working hard so that people can have a chance
- 17:11Speaker 5: to you know, live united, United is the way, whatever
- 17:16Speaker 5: you want to say. So and you know, our golf
- 17:19Speaker 5: tournament is at boots Hollow and we you know, I'm
- 17:25Speaker 5: working on something to see if we can help THEILM
- 17:29Speaker 5: in any way because it's they it's a lot of
- 17:32Speaker 5: tree damage.
- 17:33Speaker 2: There, so crazy storms last week.
- 17:37Speaker 5: And they do they do so much for United Way
- 17:40Speaker 5: and for our community. I think if there may be
- 17:43Speaker 5: some volunteer opportunities for people to go out there, but
- 17:47Speaker 5: just remember that the city is working extra hard.
- 17:51Speaker 2: On the way.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Driving over here, I saw people still working in the
- 17:55Speaker 3: yards and around on power lines and things like that.
- 17:58Speaker 3: So it is our The prayers go out to everybody
- 18:01Speaker 3: who's been impacted by the storms last week. And I
- 18:04Speaker 3: know there are still people who are out there impacted,
- 18:07Speaker 3: and yeah, it does go on, but between Alttohigh after
- 18:14Speaker 3: dark and the golf tournament. You have company campaigns kicking
- 18:19Speaker 3: off or other other events and things.
- 18:21Speaker 2: People you want to help.
- 18:23Speaker 5: Spread the word about our day of Carrying Days of Carrying,
- 18:28Speaker 5: which is where anyone is a nonprofit and we include
- 18:32Speaker 5: some public schools if they put a project, they can
- 18:36Speaker 5: put a project on I think the site is still open.
- 18:39Speaker 5: You can contact Katie at our website or via phone
- 18:44Speaker 5: and that then community companies will sign up for a project.
- 18:50Speaker 4: It could be anything from refreshing.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Landscape or painting or folding letters and that's it's so
- 19:00Speaker 5: fun to see that happen. And you know you mentioned
- 19:04Speaker 5: all of the campaigns, but then at the end of
- 19:07Speaker 5: the year we've started doing these Rise Grants, which are
- 19:10Speaker 5: grants that are open to any nonprofit in our service
- 19:16Speaker 5: area which is no the now area, no no wat
- 19:19Speaker 5: to O s Age in Washington Counties. And they're small grants,
- 19:24Speaker 5: but they're intended for programs that are new, that need
- 19:29Speaker 5: just an inch up or have added on a new
- 19:33Speaker 5: component to their programs. So my board members, Chase Alcott
- 19:39Speaker 5: is the leader of that and he does a phenomenal job,
- 19:42Speaker 5: but all the board members that are on that committee.
- 19:44Speaker 5: They really look at it in this last year that
- 19:48Speaker 5: we invited the a few applicants to come and present
- 19:52Speaker 5: to us kind of like shark tank but not really,
- 19:57Speaker 5: but yeah, so and it was so awesome we were
- 20:01Speaker 5: able to do that.
- 20:02Speaker 4: So that's something we do as well during the fall.
- 20:05Speaker 3: So always great stuff going on, and I know it's
- 20:08Speaker 3: a busy time of year for everybody. It's a vacation
- 20:11Speaker 3: season out there. We're having a lot of folks coming
- 20:14Speaker 3: in to service and heading out of town. And in fact,
- 20:18Speaker 3: I'll be gone next week tom So we got to
- 20:20Speaker 3: talk about what's going to happen when I'm gone, because it'll.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Be we may want to run run an old show
- 20:27Speaker 2: or something.
- 20:28Speaker 3: The World Cups coming to it, and my family has
- 20:32Speaker 3: been obsessed with that.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yes, it's quite exciting.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Well in one of my I'm a little bit obsessed
- 20:38Speaker 3: with the Tour de France too and that's going on.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I love to love to ride bikes, and I noticed
- 20:44Speaker 3: this morning they announced that the trails out at Borlsville
- 20:48Speaker 3: trails at Hudson Lake are open again after it's been
- 20:51Speaker 3: a tough spring out there, and all the volunteers and
- 20:55Speaker 3: help take care of those great trails, and.
- 20:58Speaker 2: So thank you to everybody has been out there cleaning up.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I bet there was some tree damage out there, and
- 21:04Speaker 3: it's takes a bit for it to dry out, and
- 21:07Speaker 3: it hasn't stayed dry for long and recently we've got
- 21:12Speaker 3: tonight at the dealership, we'll have business after hours. We're
- 21:16Speaker 3: going to invite the chamber out for some networking and
- 21:20Speaker 3: and uh a little some snacks and stuff. And next
- 21:25Speaker 3: weekend Children's Musical Theater. It's Disney's Frozen, the musical event
- 21:30Speaker 3: kicking off and the kids have been working really hard.
- 21:34Speaker 2: On that, and I see some signs in the.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Neighborhood the kids that are performing, and it's a it's
- 21:41Speaker 3: a great time of year. So if you've got a
- 21:43Speaker 3: chance to go out and explore, you know, so the
- 21:47Speaker 3: talent of Bartlesville, it's, you know, Children's musical theater. It's
- 21:50Speaker 3: such a great and this is their big summer show.
- 21:56Speaker 3: So and the Disney's Frozen is there's quite a spectacle.
- 22:01Speaker 2: So it'll be a major production, I'm sure.
- 22:05Speaker 3: And they've got four shows, the sixteenth and seventeenth at
- 22:09Speaker 3: seven pm and the eighteenth and nineteenth at two pm.
- 22:14Speaker 3: And at the dealership we're getting ready, not just for
- 22:16Speaker 3: business after hours, but for you know, great month of July.
- 22:20Speaker 3: We're you know, we're up about one hundred and fifty
- 22:23Speaker 3: percent year to date over last year and still can't
- 22:26Speaker 3: really keep inventory on the ground. It's it's crazy, but
- 22:31Speaker 3: starting to get some of the most you know, we
- 22:34Speaker 3: just had a brand new RAP four come out that's
- 22:36Speaker 3: now starting to get more and more on the lot.
- 22:40Speaker 3: They're not really staying for very long. We've had a
- 22:42Speaker 3: few that were around for a few days, but they
- 22:45Speaker 3: just kind of visited there. They were visiting. So, you know,
- 22:49Speaker 3: we do allocation works where we get allocations twice a
- 22:53Speaker 3: month and and you know, so the sales team just
- 22:56Speaker 3: got visibility on the last allocation, I think about twenty
- 22:59Speaker 3: more vehicles.
- 23:00Speaker 2: So reach out to them. We work really hard, even
- 23:04Speaker 2: though we're.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Small, we work really hard to find that perfect vehicle
- 23:08Speaker 3: for you. We can you know, go get it at
- 23:11Speaker 3: another dealer. We can do us what they call a
- 23:13Speaker 3: special order vehicle request to what they call preferencing, where
- 23:17Speaker 3: we we get we take something that's been allocated to
- 23:20Speaker 3: us and kind of shift that colors different trim levels,
- 23:24Speaker 3: different options. So it's good to reach out if you're
- 23:28Speaker 3: you know, if you're interested, reach out with a little
- 23:30Speaker 3: bit of time and we can find that.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Perfect vehicle for you.
- 23:33Speaker 3: And you know, I know a lot of the bigger
- 23:35Speaker 3: dealers won't take the time to do that. And we,
- 23:38Speaker 3: you know, our family owned and operated approach, we really
- 23:42Speaker 3: you know, we have a non commissioned sales team, our
- 23:45Speaker 3: simple price with no documentation fee, no.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Dealer add ons.
- 23:49Speaker 3: We just try to keep it simple and not straightforward
- 23:53Speaker 3: without all the games and gimmicks, and and that hopefully
- 23:57Speaker 3: attracts people to come purchase from us. What's our great
- 24:01Speaker 3: customer service. And you know we've got stuff great used.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Car inventory too.
- 24:08Speaker 3: We are we've been buying cars like crazy, that's uh.
- 24:12Speaker 3: You know, we've got Noah Wilson we've added as an
- 24:15Speaker 3: acquisition specialist to help Bruce, who my brother Bruce is
- 24:19Speaker 3: the used car focused sales manager and he's you know,
- 24:23Speaker 3: so we work in the Kelly blue Book instant cash
- 24:27Speaker 3: offer system. We're a local buying regional buying center, and
- 24:32Speaker 3: so we get lots of people bringing us cars to
- 24:35Speaker 3: look at. Whether you're working with Kelly or anybody else,
- 24:40Speaker 3: be sure to bring us your car. Let us take
- 24:42Speaker 3: a look at it. We'll give you a pretty quick
- 24:45Speaker 3: valuation on the vehicle. Always fair with our customers on
- 24:49Speaker 3: the price we pay, and just really need more inventory.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And the local cars are the best. You know, if
- 24:57Speaker 3: you try to buy things at OX, it never seems
- 25:01Speaker 3: to work out.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Quite like you expect, and it's.
- 25:03Speaker 3: More expensive, and it's always good to have a good
- 25:06Speaker 3: local car. And you know, if you've got maintenance records
- 25:10Speaker 3: and a really good story around your car, you of
- 25:13Speaker 3: course it really does add value to the vehicle.
- 25:18Speaker 2: What else we got going?
- 25:19Speaker 3: I know in a couple of weeks when I get back,
- 25:21Speaker 3: we'll have, uh the folks from a gape mission come.
- 25:24Speaker 2: In to help promote the empty bowls of that which
- 25:27Speaker 2: is coming up, you know. And as I said last week,
- 25:32Speaker 2: if anybody ever has.
- 25:33Speaker 3: A good idea about a show or a guest or
- 25:36Speaker 3: something they want to promote, or just some idea they have,
- 25:41Speaker 3: you know, the I love to help help with that.
- 25:44Speaker 3: So if you just reach out to me at the dealership,
- 25:48Speaker 3: I will be taking a break next week and uh,
- 25:51Speaker 3: you know, we'll have we'll arrange something to make entertain everybody.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Today is July ninth, that's my month birthday. So I
- 26:01Speaker 3: want to say happy birthday to Betsy right and formerly
- 26:05Speaker 3: Betsy Burgess and Betsy Dungeons. And she lives in Portland,
- 26:09Speaker 3: Oregon now, but I know she says a lot of
- 26:11Speaker 3: our friends in the community and some of them listen.
- 26:13Speaker 3: So so happy birthday, Betsy. And yeah that's again.
- 26:22Speaker 2: ALOHI after doc on July twenty fifth, Yep, there you go.
- 26:29Speaker 2: If you're looking on YouTube, you go, there you go,
- 26:33Speaker 2: there you go.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's coming up and great, you know you all kinds
- 26:38Speaker 3: of great food entertainment. I got some live auction and
- 26:44Speaker 3: silent auction and that you get to hear the story
- 26:47Speaker 3: and talk about the programs that the United Way supports
- 26:50Speaker 3: in our community.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Yeah, that's our goal and then have fun. You know,
- 26:55Speaker 5: it's we need a little laughter, and of course we're
- 27:01Speaker 5: even when my jokes fall short, I still myself.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Well John have to laugh.
- 27:12Speaker 5: And I mean I owe a special thank you to
- 27:14Speaker 5: my family, specifically my husband, John, who is an amazing
- 27:19Speaker 5: husband supporter.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Of United Way, and.
- 27:22Speaker 5: He does a lot of that nobody knows about. So
- 27:26Speaker 5: and then I have my daughter here, uh until the
- 27:30Speaker 5: end of August.
- 27:31Speaker 2: And summer is nice.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Yeah, summer is nice to spend some time.
- 27:35Speaker 2: With body a few weeks. It's it's good.
- 27:38Speaker 3: And Worriam works at the dealership now, so I got
- 27:41Speaker 3: got him right right there every day doing a great job.
- 27:44Speaker 3: So and if you are going to come to business
- 27:47Speaker 3: after urs, come see us tonight. We'll be uh be
- 27:51Speaker 3: there and welcoming the chamber and uh, you know talking
- 27:55Speaker 3: about some of these same old stories.
- 27:57Speaker 5: Yep, it's the same, but there's the best, we're the
- 28:01Speaker 5: best stories.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Thank you, Lisa, and good luck with your events and
- 28:06Speaker 3: with the campaign this fall, and I know, I know
- 28:10Speaker 3: Borrows will rise up once again and let's let's hit
- 28:13Speaker 3: your goal.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I would love it.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Thank you, Thank you for promoting us, and thank you
- 28:18Speaker 5: for what you do for our community.
- 28:19Speaker 3: All right, bred, where can we find you well at
- 28:22Speaker 3: Dungeonstoyota dot com. Are out on Highway seventy five and
- 28:26Speaker 3: nineteen eleven Southeast Washington Boulevard, and just come come sail
- 28:31Speaker 3: out to our great team.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Folks, you've been watching and listening to our Car Talk program.
