- 0:15Speaker 1: Yo, welcome back to great Dust.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We're in person again. Baby, back in the library, we're
- 0:22reading three Little grab Bag.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Maybe were these ones that were on the tails from
- 0:26the creeps?
- 0:26Speaker 4: No, these are old.
- 0:27Speaker 3: These are all older. These are all older.
- 0:29Speaker 2: But we are getting we are going to be reading
- 0:31some tales in the creeds here pretty soon. These are
- 0:33so oh yeah, this is fourteen years ago from a
- 0:35deleted user. This first one that we're reading is called
- 0:37the strangest security tape I've ever seen. And then wait,
- 0:41the next one is my doorbell sends a motion detected
- 0:44alert every night. At two fifty three, found a form
- 0:46full of users experiencing the exact same issue. Now, something
- 0:49seriously strange is going on. And then lastly, I was
- 0:52in air traffic controller at Atlantic Municipal Airport, Iowa for
- 0:55twenty seven years. My first year at the job, I
- 0:57unwillingly went from a firm atheist to a lever. The
- 1:00long overdue end this is these are old with long
- 1:04ass titles like those. You bet your bottom dollar these
- 1:06are fucking old stories, dude. Lord well, the doorbell one's
- 1:10four years old, the doorbell one is Yeah, it's hearkening back, dude,
- 1:14it's it's it has an old soul.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Yeah, so yes, we are in person again. Harry picked
- 1:18me up from the airport, not hunter. Harry picked me
- 1:20up from the airport, which I was gonna hang over him.
- 1:23But we're getting started on the recording two hours late
- 1:25because I overslept.
- 1:26Speaker 3: So that is true.
- 1:28Speaker 4: This is really weird, you know, if you think about it.
- 1:31Speaker 2: We should actually already have an episode done.
- 1:34Speaker 4: You made me wait at the airport, so I made
- 1:36you waited, not affect literally anything it could have, you know,
- 1:41hypothetically given given time and strains, and so so I
- 1:45think we're even. It's what I'm trying to trying to
- 1:47say about.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Okay, all right, Hey, if you're listening to on Apple
- 1:51Podcasts or Spotify, leave us a good review. And if
- 1:54you are our Patreon, thank you or considered joining the patreon.
- 2:00Speaker 3: There's good stuff there. Don't get that shrug in there.
- 2:06There's good stuff.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Well. I think the shrugs on brand for you. And
- 2:09you do like the sad e boy thing a lot.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when they see me, they usually think of an
- 2:14e boy.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I mean, by definition, can morbidly obese people be e boys.
- 2:17Speaker 4: On the the end, you're not morbidly obese. Yes, you can,
- 2:23you absolutely can.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah. So the stranger security tape I've ever seen has
- 2:28been recommended a ton. I don't think you're familiar with
- 2:31this story, but it is an og. This thing has
- 2:34been around a while. Pretty much everyone who did like
- 2:35creepypasta readings back in the day covered it. We will
- 2:38begin with that one and again the other ones. Harry
- 2:40said that there is a theme to these stories, like
- 2:43an interconnected thing, so we'll see what that is as
- 2:46we go, but we can begin with the stranger security tape.
- 2:50Are you ready to get into it? Oh? Already, then
- 2:52let us begin. I work at a gas station in
- 2:55rural Pennsylvania. Already, it's terrifying entry.
- 3:00Speaker 3: It's a went to Philly, one of the worst cities
- 3:02in America.
- 3:03Speaker 4: That's scary.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Maybe not as bad as Saint Louis, but horrible, crashy, horrible,
- 3:08horrible place, horrible fans of anything anything they like, they
- 3:14just love to hate and tear down.
- 3:17Speaker 4: I worked at a gas station in rural Pennsylvania. It's
- 3:19a boring job, but it's pretty easy and it pays
- 3:22all right. A few weeks ago, this new guy started
- 3:26I'll call him Jeremy. Jeremy is weird. He's about twenty
- 3:29five or twenty six, and he hardly speaks, but he's
- 3:32got the creepiest laugh I've ever heard. My boss and
- 3:35I have both noticed this, but it's never been a problem,
- 3:38so there's not much we can do about it. Customers
- 3:41have never complained about him, and he's always done his
- 3:44job fairly well up until a few weeks ago, anyway.
- 3:48That's when things started going missing. Employee theft can be
- 3:52a problem at any business that sells consumer goods, and
- 3:55there's only one person working at a time. At this
- 3:57gas station, it's a pretty small player. About two weeks ago,
- 4:02my boss started noticing that we were short on motor oil.
- 4:05At first it was a few containers at a time,
- 4:08then the entire shelves and boxes from the back room.
- 4:12Pretty soon, entire shipments would be gone day after we
- 4:15got them, and it would always be right after Jeremy's shifts.
- 4:19My boss has checked the security camera tapes from every
- 4:22single night he worked, but he could never catch him
- 4:25in the act. Jeremy would lock up closing and the
- 4:28motor oil would be on the next day. My boss
- 4:31usually takes the tapes home with him to try and
- 4:33catch Jeremy stealing. But his daughter at a softball game
- 4:36last night, so he asked me to watch the tape
- 4:38for him. He offered to pay me overtime under the table,
- 4:41so obviously I took the offer. There are three cameras,
- 4:46so he gave me three different tapes to check. I
- 4:49figured it'd be a long night, but I'm trying to
- 4:51save up for vacation, so I really needed that money.
- 4:54Took the tapes home, popped them in the old VCR
- 4:56set back two days ago. The last time he worked.
- 5:00Jeremy started at four pm. Everything seemed pretty normal at first.
- 5:04He counted up his drawer, switched off the girl, switched
- 5:08off with the girl who was working before him, and
- 5:10waited for a customer. The first person who came in
- 5:13was Missus Templeton. The time stamp on the video read
- 5:17four to three. A regular picked up her cigarettes in
- 5:20a newspaper and paid with a twenty. Nothing unusual there.
- 5:23The next customer was some local guy named Ron. He
- 5:26drives a motorcycle, usually comes in every few days, filled
- 5:30up his tank, got a back of beef jerky, paid
- 5:32with his credit card and then left next with some
- 5:35guy with a cowboy hat. I've never seen him before.
- 5:38We get plenty of strangers passing through, just like any
- 5:41gas station. He got forty dollars worth of diesel fuel,
- 5:43paid with one hundred dollars. Bill went on his way
- 5:45back inside. Another thing more boring than doing this job
- 5:48is watching someone else do it. My boss's offer was
- 5:50enough to keep me watching, though, so I left the tapeon.
- 5:54Everything seemed pretty normal, at a feeling that if Jeremy
- 5:57was Steely motor Oil, he knew we were suspicious of
- 5:59him by now, I didn't expect him to be dumb
- 6:02enough to let us catch him on camera. Banks stayed
- 6:05bored and routine until about five o'clock. At five o three,
- 6:09Missus Templeton came back in. She must have forgotten something,
- 6:13but she did it. She bought the same pack of
- 6:15cigarettes as before, in the same newspaper. She paid with
- 6:19another twenty That's odd, I thought, But then again, she's
- 6:23a little absent minded. I thought Jeremy should have told
- 6:26her she already got her smokes. But it's not against
- 6:28the rules to sell somebody the same thing twice. That's
- 6:31when Ron came in again, bought another tank of gas
- 6:34for his motorcycle. Again. I later checked the outdoor camera
- 6:37because I thought maybe he had another car he won
- 6:39to fill up and the same pack of beef jerkey.
- 6:42He paid with his credit card. Again, no big deal.
- 6:45I figured this was just a weird coincidence. Missus Templeton
- 6:48is forgetful and Ron probably owns more than one Harley.
- 6:51That's when the guy in the cowboy hat came back in.
- 6:53I felt a chill run down my spine.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Don't get diesel, don't get diesel.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I found myself whispering to my living room. But he did.
- 7:02He got forty dollars worth of diesel fuel and paid
- 7:05with another one hundred dollars bill. Every move he made
- 7:08was identical to his first visit, right down to the
- 7:10way he scratched his nose before he walked down either
- 7:13This guy's rich owns a lot of trucks and just
- 7:16moved into town where something really bizarre was happening. I
- 7:20kept watching every customer for the next hour was the
- 7:23same as before, every single one. It was seriously freaked out.
- 7:28And then at six p' oh three, Misus Simpleton walked
- 7:31back in She bought her cigarettes and newspaper again and
- 7:34paid with the twenty again. Thought I was going to
- 7:36lose it. I only watched another half hour before I
- 7:38started fast forwarding through the rest. It was all the same.
- 7:42Every customer would come in at the exact same times,
- 7:45exactly one hour apart. Now I know what you're thinking,
- 7:48That sneaky guy Jeremy had messed with the tapes. He
- 7:51had run a loop of his first hour of do it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I said, mother fucker, Oh thank you? Were you?
- 7:55Speaker 4: Thank you, honter? He had run a loop of his
- 7:57first hour of business over and over. That wasn't the case.
- 8:02There are windows around the cash register area that the
- 8:04camera covers, and I watched the sunlight fade as time
- 8:07ran on. Jeremy's routine didn't loop over. He swept, mopped, restocked,
- 8:12and did all his duties exactly how you would expect.
- 8:15But the same customers kept coming in. That's that's a
- 8:19neat touch because I was thinking the exact same thing,
- 8:21like this is just a looped hour of footage. But
- 8:24you can see him, Jeremy being different in between each
- 8:27person and stuff like that.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I'm trying to worked. I used to work at Dollar
- 8:31General back in the day.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Is there anywhere you haven't worked I felt like I've
- 8:35worked at a lot of places. It's crazy.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I used to work at Dollar General back in the day,
- 8:38and some of the people I worked with, I feel
- 8:39like you could show them this footage and they just
- 8:41would not give a fuck, Like do you think the
- 8:44people would be do you think you'd be.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Like, honestly, do you think he'd be like that this
- 8:48is insane? Or like do you think that.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I think if they thought about it, I mean, if
- 8:53they were absent mindedly looking at the screen, the no,
- 8:57But if they took time, like it is weird that
- 8:59these people are on tracks over and over for some
- 9:01reason the whole day. Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I know a lot of people I have worked with her
- 9:04they'd just be like, I don't know, it's just weird.
- 9:06And it didn't just turn off.
- 9:09Speaker 4: I mean, there are some people who maybe I guess
- 9:13would be low IQ enough that they'd be like, yeah,
- 9:16this is something like incomprehensible entity. I don't like it. Yeah.
- 9:20I was panicking at this point. Something was seriously wrong
- 9:23with what I was seeing and I had no explanation
- 9:25for it. I skipped ahead to when he locked up
- 9:28and walked out to his car. He hadn't stolen anything,
- 9:31but I kept watching just to make sure. FAST forwarded
- 9:35one last time to about midnight. At exactly twelve o three,
- 9:39out of nowhere, Jeremy's face pops up on camera. I
- 9:44don't mean he moved his head into view. I mean
- 9:46that one second the store was emptied, the next second,
- 9:49his face was all I could see. He wasn't looking
- 9:52at the camera. He was looking at me. I was
- 9:55sure of it. I screamed and fumbled for the remote.
- 10:00The time I grabbed it, he was gone. Just as
- 10:02soon as he had left one frame, he was there,
- 10:05the next he wasn't. My hands were shaking like crazy.
- 10:09But I popped in another tape. The other indoor camera
- 10:12shows the back area by the cash register, and I
- 10:14would be able to see how he got up to
- 10:16put his face in the camera like that. Skipped ahead
- 10:18to twelve oh three, but there was nothing. I would
- 10:21have been able to see him standing on a chair
- 10:23or something on this tape, but he wasn't there. I
- 10:26didn't see him enter the store at all. After he left.
- 10:30It's like he wasn't really there. He doesn't know the
- 10:33security code, No alarms were triggered that night after he
- 10:35locked up. What I did see, however, was that at
- 10:39twelve oh three, the motor oil vanished off the shelf,
- 10:43all of it same as Jeremy's face. One second it
- 10:46was there and the next it wasn't. I turned the
- 10:49tape off and went to bed, but I didn't get
- 10:51a wink of sleep. My body's exhausted right now, but
- 10:54my mind is racing. That tape was undoubtedly the creepiest,
- 10:58most disturbing thing I've ever seen my life. I work
- 11:01in a few hours. The boss asked me to bring
- 11:03the tapes back in and let him know what I found.
- 11:06But really, what the hell am I gonna say? Jeremy
- 11:10works the night Ship tonight directly after me, and the
- 11:13plan is for my boss to come in just before
- 11:15I leave and confront him with me. So I'm supposed
- 11:18to be the one who caught him stealing. I have
- 11:20no idea what I'm going to do. I suppose I'll
- 11:23have to show my boss the tapes, but I don't
- 11:25want to watch them again. But I don't want to
- 11:27watch them with him. I never want to see something
- 11:29like that again. I can't get the image of Jeremy
- 11:33just smiling directly into the camera. Out of my mind.
- 11:36It was the creepiest look I've ever seen on another
- 11:39human beings face. Anyway, I'm going to try again to
- 11:42get some last minute sleep before I have to go
- 11:44in and deal with this. I'll let you guys know
- 11:47what happens. Update two forty nine pm updating from my phone.
- 11:51Apologies in advance for ers. My boss just finished watching
- 11:54the last of the tapes. I told them what to expect,
- 11:57but you really can't prepare someone for something like that.
- 12:00He scared shitless. I still am two and Jeremy is
- 12:03due to come in at four. We've got a little
- 12:06over an hour to get our shit together, but neither
- 12:08of us knows what to say to him. Is he
- 12:11just a screwed up guy who likes to steal motor
- 12:14oil and scare the shit out of people? Or is
- 12:17he something else? I don't know if this is crazy,
- 12:19but does anyone think he could have anything to do
- 12:22with the time loop? My boss said he never noticed
- 12:25anything like that in the other tapes, but the way
- 12:27he popped up in this one made me think he
- 12:29knew I would be watching. It's like he wanted me
- 12:32to see what he could do, Like he was showing
- 12:35off or something. The way he smiled into the camera,
- 12:38it's like a little kid showing you a sand castle.
- 12:40They just built her something. I don't know. I probably
- 12:45sound crazy. I sure feel the part. We're going to
- 12:48talk to my boss some more. We have to calm
- 12:50ourselves down and figure out how to handle this. I'll
- 12:52love date again tonight, but I have a really bad
- 12:54feeling about how this is going to play out. Update
- 12:57four thirty three, no sign of Jeremy. Tried calling him,
- 13:01but his phone has been disconnected. We're calling the police.
- 13:04Update five thirty three, no sign of Jeremy tried calling him,
- 13:08his phone has been disconnected. Calling the police. That exact
- 13:11loop repeats again at six thirty three, seven thirty three,
- 13:13and eight thirty three, So at the thirty three, in
- 13:16a roll of every hour, the same thing he was
- 13:18seeing on the security camera with the customers, the loop
- 13:20un till there's an update at ten fifty eight. Holy shit,
- 13:24Holy shit, holy shit. I just got home and saw
- 13:26my previous updates. Things make less sense now than ever.
- 13:31Here's what I can tell you. I went to work,
- 13:34Jeremy never showed up, but my boss and I decided
- 13:36to call the police. As you're well aware, when I
- 13:39picked up the phone to call, though, the sun went out.
- 13:42I shouldn't you not. That's what I thought happened. Apparently
- 13:45I blacked out for exactly five hours, because when I
- 13:49looked at the clock it was nine thirty three. I
- 13:51think I got stuck in Jeremy's time loop and then
- 13:53I snapped out of it at that exact point I
- 13:56blacked out. That makes sense, but that's what things got
- 13:59really weird. My boss was right next to me when
- 14:01I blacked out, ready to corroborate my story to the cops.
- 14:05When I came to the phone was in my hand,
- 14:07but it was dead, not even a dial tone. My
- 14:11boss was still right there, but he wasn't moving. He
- 14:14was standing up frozen. I looked at the clock again
- 14:17and it wasn't moving. The second hand was stuck on
- 14:20the twelfth. It was nine thirty three, exactly block on
- 14:25the register computer screen wasn't moving either. My phone was frozen.
- 14:30There was even a customer at the register waiting for
- 14:32my boss to get them cigarettes and betting that would
- 14:35have been his fifth pack of the day. I got
- 14:38out of there, didn't lock up, didn't turn the lights out.
- 14:41Sorry guys, didn't grab the security tapes to upload on
- 14:43the internet. Believe me, that was the last thing on
- 14:46my mind. The gas station is on a major highway
- 14:49and cars were parked all along it, except they weren't parked,
- 14:52they were frozen. The people inside were setting still as
- 14:56wax statues. I got in my car and prayed that
- 14:59it would start. Thankfully it did. About halfway home, time
- 15:02started up again. Static from the radio turned into music
- 15:06like it's supposed to be, and for what I could
- 15:08tell by listening to the host talk in between songs,
- 15:10no one noticed the time freeze or whatever it was.
- 15:14I was the only one. Well, I'm sure Jeremy noticed
- 15:18as well. I still have no clue where he is
- 15:21or what he's doing. I'm hiding in my room and
- 15:23calling the police again in the morning. I don't know
- 15:26if I ever got through to them before, or if
- 15:28I did, whether they took me seriously scared for my
- 15:32life at this point. An update tomorrow if I can.
- 15:36Final update ten thirty three am. I finally fell asleep
- 15:40last night around four. I have no idea how I
- 15:43did it. I guess exhaustion finally got the best of
- 15:46me this morning. I woke up to my phone ringing
- 15:49it was my boss. You've been calling me since about six.
- 15:53He woke up when time turned back on last night
- 15:56and immediately called the cops. They came back to see
- 15:59what was wrong, and he told them everything. The police
- 16:01around here are all small time guys. They were more
- 16:04concerned with the missing motor oil than anything, but my
- 16:06boss figured he would take it as long as he
- 16:09had their attention. They decided to go looking for Jeremy.
- 16:12We keep all employee applications on file. Since Jeremy just
- 16:15started working here, as was easy to find. They checked
- 16:18the address on it and headed over to his house.
- 16:21They're not going to believe what they found. The address
- 16:23Jeremy listed on his application was an empty lot, or
- 16:27at least now it is. There used to be a
- 16:30house there, but it burned down in nineteen ninety three.
- 16:34Being a small town, almost everyone remembers that fire. A
- 16:38family of four used to live there way back when.
- 16:41Rumor has it that they had an estranged son who
- 16:44they never really talked about. But I can't say for
- 16:47sure if that's true. What I can say is true
- 16:50is that after an insurance investigation, the fire was ruled
- 16:53in arson and the entire house was soaked in oil
- 16:56and torched with a Molotov cocktail. The entire family was
- 16:59sleeping it happened. None of them survived. They never caught
- 17:02the guy who did it. Rumor has it that when
- 17:05they try to contact the estranged son, no one could
- 17:08find him. Anyway. My boss called and told me this,
- 17:11and I freaked out. Then he asked me to come
- 17:14to the gas station. What are you crazy, I said,
- 17:17but he assured me that the cops were there with him.
- 17:19Then he dropped a bomb. The FBI were also in town,
- 17:22that they were going to talk to me one way
- 17:24or another, so I might as well come in. It
- 17:27was about seven point fifteen and I wanted to go
- 17:29back to bed, but I figured I wouldn't be able
- 17:31to sleep much more anyway, so I went down. Four minute.
- 17:34Suits greeted me and told me to have a seat.
- 17:36We went over everything she were three times until they
- 17:38got all the details down. I told him about Jeremy,
- 17:42the security tape last night at work, everything. Finally, after
- 17:46I finished, one of the agents said.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Oh Christ, we've got another one on our hands.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Then they made me sign a bunch of papers and
- 17:52I wouldn't tell anyone about what happened, so I can't
- 17:54say much more. I might be breaking the law just
- 17:57by posting this. So now I'm home, I'm not sure
- 17:59what to do with myself. That agent's words when I
- 18:02told him the story, You're going to haunt me for
- 18:03the rest of my life. Anyway. I've got to go
- 18:06have some errands to run a day, and then I
- 18:08have to go into work to pick up some tapes.
- 18:11My boss and I think this new guy, Jeremy, he's
- 18:13a complete creep stealing motor oil, and I have to
- 18:16watch the security footage see if I can catch him
- 18:18doing it. I have better things to do. My boss
- 18:21is paying me over time under the table, and I'm
- 18:24trying to save it for vacation, so I could really
- 18:26use the money. Should be pretty simple. The oil always
- 18:29goes missing right after his shifts. I figure I'll just
- 18:32watch the tapes, catch him in the act, and that
- 18:34will be that.
- 18:35Speaker 3: So the end of you just like forget that.
- 18:37Speaker 4: He just it's a time loop. It's a bigger time
- 18:40He's a bigger time loop. Yeah, he's in this like
- 18:42bigger pocket of that I don't know where. So this
- 18:46is a this is a story people share around a lot,
- 18:48talked about a lot. I get it. It's a fun
- 18:49little like you know, was it also.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Just one of those stories back in the day that
- 18:52it was so new that it was like, Oh, that's
- 18:54a cool way that I didn't know. I didn't know
- 18:56that you could approach creepypastas in that kind of way
- 18:57or something.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, And I mean like the idea of some
- 19:00security tapes and time loops are fun and stuff like this.
- 19:03Speaker 3: We need the oil. We know the oil?
- 19:05Speaker 4: Uh the arson fight. I yes, it's tied to the
- 19:08arson somehow, because it's an empty lot and there was
- 19:11a fire a long time ago. So maybe Jeremy, Jeremy's
- 19:15obviously the strange son, right, but maybe it's not so
- 19:17much in a strange son. Maybe like Jeremy is some
- 19:21entity who's always been this age and like the family
- 19:24knew and then the house burned down. But maybe to
- 19:27the family, like there's still existent in a time loop
- 19:30for like the past thirty years, and Jeremy is the
- 19:34one like the thing causing the fire and now he
- 19:37comes here and it's starting to spread basically to other people.
- 19:39And now we see here that there's time loops within
- 19:41time loops, because he thought that earlier the previous night,
- 19:45he's like, whoa, I just went through one, not realizing
- 19:47the whole day, like twenty four hour cycle is a
- 19:50greater one as well. So it's some entity that's like
- 19:53messing with their experience of time and stuff like that.
- 19:58And also we don't know how far it spreads, because
- 20:00if the house that's on fire is in a time loop,
- 20:03then to them they're still there, but to everyone else
- 20:05it was a lot that burned down years ago.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I read a story this is like
- 20:09a while back, but it was like an Illinois in
- 20:11southern Illinois.
- 20:12Speaker 3: There's just like O'Reilly's manager that was.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Like dumping oil in like a in like a bucket
- 20:19or something, and he was like he would like wipe
- 20:21his skin with it like oil. I don't know if
- 20:25it was used, but I just I thought I heard
- 20:27something where he had like some kind of bucket in
- 20:29the back he would like take off his shirt and
- 20:31like rub oil on his arms and his chest and
- 20:35all that kind of shit. I don't know if it
- 20:37was going to something like that. I mean, arson things
- 20:39kind of cool, but it would be cool if Jeremy
- 20:43was he was gonna phone with all these old stories. Well,
- 20:47there's just like some i mean borderline autistic guy almost
- 20:53always and they're just like, yeah, he's a freak, he's
- 20:55such a weirdo. Let's watch on the cameras because I
- 20:58feel like he's stealing oil, you know what I mean.
- 21:02Speaker 4: I mean a lot more cruel Jeremy who flashes onto
- 21:06the camera.
- 21:08Speaker 2: The first talk about him.
- 21:09Speaker 4: I mean they how many autistic people do you know?
- 21:11They can create time?
- 21:12Speaker 5: They don't know that.
- 21:13Speaker 2: No, No, well, first of all, they don't know that.
- 21:14I'm saying that from when their first starting someone said yeah, yeah,
- 21:18everyone raises their head. No, I'm saying that the uh
- 21:23I would saying when they first talk about him, they're like, oh, yeah,
- 21:25he was a fucking what if they said?
- 21:27Speaker 3: What did they say?
- 21:27Speaker 2: They said he was like slow and he was a
- 21:30weird guy, had a weird laugh. Also, I did what
- 21:32do you think his laugh sounded like? What do you
- 21:34think his laughs sound like? To where they that was
- 21:35like the one distinguishal thing about him.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Like either a Tommy Taffy, like overly thing, or like
- 21:40a devilish laugh I would have watched.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Isn't that crazy? I think that's a crazy laugh to.
- 21:46Speaker 4: If you if I told you a joke and you
- 21:48would yes, I would think that was pretty crazy.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I almost prefer that laugh over your laugh. You you
- 22:01get high, he starts a lower that goes hi. How
- 22:06do you're like, you're the German in the situation, dude,
- 22:09not going to picture that security cam footage.
- 22:11Speaker 3: You're just like waddling around, waddling around the store.
- 22:15Speaker 4: I waddle.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Well, because they they made himself, did they not make
- 22:19him sound like a dopey bastard?
- 22:21Speaker 4: You just added that ee waddle without precedents.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Well, the wattle is just because of the dopey thing?
- 22:25Speaker 4: I mean, am I wrong?
- 22:26Speaker 2: Didn't they say that they definitely were picking on this guy?
- 22:29Do you think that he like saw like?
- 22:31Speaker 4: Do you think he like says he not like a
- 22:33time looping dimensional thing that's caused the death of people
- 22:36and the entity? I think so? Yeah. The way he
- 22:40pops into the camera then disappears. Yeah, oh he puts
- 22:43everyone else in these time prisons.
- 22:45Speaker 2: If you were an entity, why I have a guy
- 22:47people come in and get like cigarettes and a chocolate
- 22:50bar and gas for.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I mean, like, what is it spreading? It's it's like
- 22:54it's like it started with the house. You No, it's
- 22:56spreading to other places.
- 22:57Speaker 3: So it's just like infecting other areas in this time.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know what his reasoning is, but the
- 23:02FBI seems onto it because that whole We've got another
- 23:04one of these, so it seems like they're aware that
- 23:06it's spreading. We don't know why, but I wonder.
- 23:08Speaker 3: What the laugh did sound like? Also, what do you
- 23:11think he saw?
- 23:11Speaker 4: Apparently sounds like my laugh because it's worse.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Well, I don't think it's as bad as your laugh,
- 23:15but I think that the uh, you have a nice laugh,
- 23:20very nice the uh what I mean, what do you
- 23:23think he could have seen that would cause such a laugh?
- 23:26Speaker 3: Well, especially an entity?
- 23:28Speaker 4: What are you talking about.
- 23:29Speaker 2: The entity's laugh. They're saying that Jeremy's laughing like, oh,
- 23:31he had a weird laugh.
- 23:32Speaker 3: It was always weird.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously trying to fit in. He has a job
- 23:38at a gas station, that'd be weird.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I would say that's a fucking terrifying laugh. Yeah, he's
- 23:50like reading ah, He's like uh, he sees a shirt
- 23:53that's on like one of the racks of the store
- 23:55that says, like, what's the one thing?
- 23:56Speaker 3: It's just like, uh, I need to activate protocol coffee
- 24:00or where the fuck it is?
- 24:01Speaker 4: What was it? I need a firmware update in the coffee.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I need a firmware update in the firm of coffee.
- 24:06He reads that shirt, He does, I would be fun
- 24:13watch them. I think that motherfucker's chugging five W thirty in.
- 24:18Speaker 4: The back, feeling the oil. Yeah, uh yeah, this story
- 24:22is a classic. It's fun, especially fourteen years ago, especially
- 24:26then the market for scary stories that was out there.
- 24:29Speaker 2: So sometimes I feel like this podcast would be a
- 24:30lot funner if we were like eight.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Like that, because I feel like a lot of people
- 24:37when they were reading this stuff.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Back in the day, you were How do I interact
- 24:40with that?
- 24:41Speaker 2: Listen, I need a Hey, I ran out of my
- 24:44firmware update.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I might need another one. I'm saying that.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I'm saying that kids, kids reading these for the first time,
- 24:52might be like, isn't that crazy, So let's do it.
- 24:55I didn't have that. I didn't have that. What what
- 24:57age did you start reading these? A fetus Eleve was
- 25:03twelve fourteen years ago, So.
- 25:05Speaker 3: I mean that's what I mean. It's like people kids
- 25:06that age being like, are you serious.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that's when all this stuff freaks me out.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, because I feel like sometimes our viewers want.
- 25:13Speaker 4: That us to be scared.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I don't think I don't think necessarily scared scared in episodes,
- 25:17Oh definitely. Yeah, But I'm just saying that I think
- 25:19that generally there's a want or desire for someone.
- 25:23Speaker 3: To be like that's awesome?
- 25:25Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Is it bad that I'm not giving that.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I think it's a cool concept. I'm not like, this
- 25:30is a terrifying super like. No, the strangest security tip
- 25:32I've ever seen isn't some magnum opus of writing. It's
- 25:36just good for when it came out, and it's an
- 25:40inventive concept. It's not another kind of creepy. It's not yeah,
- 25:44well the whole time it is. That's also another tale
- 25:46of like old creepypastas when it's like it's it's the
- 25:50haunted house down the street that they say the woman
- 25:53died at ten years ago, like they always tie it
- 25:55to some like you know, tragedy that happened back in the.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Day, because if you think about it, twelve I mean
- 26:00by that time Ghost Hunters and the Ghost Adventures, all that.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Ship was popping off. I feel like they tie it in.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Because that's what most horror movies did that too, Yeah, true, yeah,
- 26:09ghost So most horror movies have something where it's like, oh,
- 26:13well we found this newspaper that said someone died in
- 26:15the house for.
- 26:16Speaker 3: How about a fucking guy.
- 26:17Speaker 2: How about a time entity that's using oil rubbing on
- 26:21his skin, like that guy from the O'Reilly's that I
- 26:23read about. Yeah, and he's looping time to where it'll
- 26:27like affect his skin or something.
- 26:28Speaker 3: He wants oil skin.
- 26:29Speaker 4: I mean, I think, honestly, you could have done the
- 26:31time loop thing without tying it into the old thing.
- 26:33And also I'm kind of reaching a bit to make
- 26:35the connection between like that's a time loop there and
- 26:38stuff like that. I think that's what's implying, but it's
- 26:42it's like kind of a weak connection.
- 26:44Speaker 3: You could do without it, kind of a capris on.
- 26:50Speaker 2: My biggest takeaway from Matt was that this like supernatural
- 26:54time loop entity's name.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Is Jeremine hav Having said, let's call him Jerreedy is.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Supernatural climateity named Jeremy is kind of a creator.
- 27:04Speaker 4: His actual entity, his actual names like Orgone, Lucifer.
- 27:12Speaker 3: He's called Jeremy. He drives. Yeah, he rides to work
- 27:15every day on his Mongoo.
- 27:17Speaker 4: You're so sweet, Harry, Thank you, buddy, very kind Harry.
- 27:21Harry wakes me up after I sleep in an hour
- 27:22and a.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Half because I went down there and said, go fucking
- 27:25wake him up, is what I said.
- 27:27Speaker 4: No, not pointing any names.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Uh, but he does that, I mean, not pointing names
- 27:31to you, motherfucker.
- 27:32Speaker 4: No. I think I think, you know, it could have been.
- 27:34It's really one of those like, you know, class half full,
- 27:37half empty kind of things. But Harry brings me a coffee,
- 27:41and now he brings me red Bull and Dyke coke.
- 27:44Speaker 2: This guy couldn't help but notice a lack of caprice.
- 27:46Speaker 6: Son.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I think that says. That says a lot about your character.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it says a lot about you. Right after you
- 27:52said you wish you were eight years old, I'm saying.
- 27:54Speaker 2: That I wish that we were eight years old doing
- 27:56this so we could have fantastical experiences reading this. I
- 27:58feel like if I was eight years old and I
- 27:59read my mom be fucking blown. Yeah, I'm sure that's
- 28:02what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, that sounds like I wish
- 28:03that we were twelve.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Hey, age of the average creep cast.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I wish you were twelve, all right.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Also, we could get our bikes. You could ride bikes
- 28:12to a recording. You can do that now, No, no,
- 28:16not really. I'm saying that if I sat there, we did. Hey, guys,
- 28:19we're we're gonna go read a scary story down at
- 28:23my mom's barn. And we get on my mongoose. You're
- 28:26on the back pegs and.
- 28:27Speaker 3: We're like whoa, and we have a goprofotage of that.
- 28:30Speaker 4: People would love that we if we were eight, If
- 28:34we were eight.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah, kids, Now you're like, I mean, I'm like.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Forty, you're like, for one half of these people would
- 28:39love to see both of us on a bicycle. Anyway.
- 28:43Speaker 3: I don't think there's any like, I don't think there's
- 28:44any structural bike that could hold me. That's point. Maybe
- 28:49maybe the mongoose. Maybe is mongoos still a thing?
- 28:52Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Are they like said, I think the song of Walmart
- 28:56you see, yeah, mongus bikes that was a good story.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Uh uh yeah, yeah, I loved it.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Uh, this is this is a this is a pussy
- 29:04getter right here?
- 29:05Speaker 4: Okay, Uh those were pretty cool.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Well maybe not this one. If they don't have pegs,
- 29:14then you can add the people. Do kids even care
- 29:17about pegs anymore?
- 29:18Speaker 4: I don't think kids are biking like they used to.
- 29:20I mean maybe they are. I'm gonna get my kid
- 29:23a bike, you know, which is cool to see now.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I'm just you know what I had when I was younger,
- 29:27or not what I had when my buddy had that.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I used to ride when I was younger.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I was a fat little boy, and I had my
- 29:33buddy had one of those fucking remember when like West
- 29:35Coast Choppers was really big. Are you're so much younger
- 29:37than us? You remember when it had? Though it was
- 29:39like an easy rider motorcycle bike, but it was in
- 29:41the shape of like they had like the fat back
- 29:43tire and the skinny front tire. See, impossible to ride
- 29:46up hills. It was horrible, but it looked so cool.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Let me see if I can find a picture of it.
- 29:52Speaker 4: I had, Uh, I had a bike kind of like that,
- 29:54and my parents we we got really into biking for
- 29:56like a couple of years. We'd go to like these
- 29:58parks and bike around and stuff. Barons always had townies
- 30:01that's really nice with like the gears you could switch
- 30:04and stuff like that. I thought those were cool. Yeah,
- 30:06he doesn't care about whatever.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I mean, that's a cool thing about your parents with
- 30:12a tandem bicycle or whatever.
- 30:14Speaker 4: The uh they're called sting rays. That would explain why
- 30:18they don't work on hills. So for beaches, No it doesn't. No,
- 30:22here it is.
- 30:23Speaker 3: This was a legitimate bike you could get.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I mean one hundred percent. See how a kid?
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yeah, oh boy, impossible to.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Go they look it looks like a motorcycle.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Possible, especially with my fat ass ankles and stuff trying
- 30:35to push these pedals. Yeah right, hold on, guys like that.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Come on. I want to take a moment to think
- 30:46today's sponsor Ridge Wallet, because Ridge has some of the
- 30:48most durable and stylish wallets on the market. Normal wallets
- 30:52clog up your pockets, making it impossible to take your
- 30:54phone or keys out. Putting a normal wallet in your
- 30:56back pocket leads to bad posture and back paint. So
- 30:59what do well? Do? What I do and get a
- 31:01Ridge wallet. Ridge has taken their game changing wallet and
- 31:04made it even better with Ridge two point zero. Ridge
- 31:07two point zero wallets have the perfect balance of form
- 31:09and function. They're ten percent lighter and are more modular
- 31:12with improved cash straps and money clips, and the overall

- 31:18holds up to twelve cards plus cash and comes in
- 31:21over fifty colors in designs including pro and college sports
- 31:24teams and whatever you choose. Ridge has a built for
- 31:26life warranty, so if your wallet's ever lost or stolen,
- 31:29they've got you covered. On top of that, with the
- 31:31Ridge Tracker card, you can always know exactly where your
- 31:34wallet's at. Which is someone who drove to many stores
- 31:36he'd been to that day because he lost his wallet,
- 31:39only to find it hidden in a hole in the couch.
- 31:42I can tell you that would be nice. And for

- 32:02the description, and we are now back to the episode.
- 32:05I want to take a moment to think today's sponsor Tushy.
- 32:07Tushy is a product that I can wholeheartedly, not a
- 32:10part of the script, say change my life. I always
- 32:13thought bidays were done until I tried one and realized
- 32:15that my life was literally worse before I got it.
- 32:18Imagine if every time you got done eating with your hands,
- 32:21you just rubbed it on a dry piece of paper,
- 32:23never washing them, and then ask yourself, why do you
- 32:25do that when you go to the bathroom. Well, I'm
- 32:28here to tell you that Tushy is the luxury biday
- 32:30that your bathroom's been missing. I love Tushy because it
- 32:33gives me the benefits of reducing irritation, making me more hygienic,
- 32:37and I use way less toilet paper because you pretty
- 32:39much just use the toilet paper to dry off, and
- 32:42less toilet paper means less clog toilets, more saved money.
- 32:46Some Tushy models even have a built in dryer, and
- 32:48Tushiy bidets are easy to install, either going under your
- 32:51toilet seat or becoming your new seat. No power tools
- 32:54are needed, and you can go to the bathroom, clean
- 32:56yourself off and dry off without ever getting up. Stop
- 32:58guessing that you're clean, and start leaving the bathroom with confidence.
- 33:02And now is the perfect time to get in on
- 33:04Tushy's offer. That's because for a limited time, our listeners

- 33:20Their link will be in the description and we are
- 33:22now back to the episode. All right, well my video
- 33:26doorbell right yep, so our next video next video next
- 33:30episode is posted by Lighting Nations. I don't believe we've
- 33:36covered before. It looks like they've continued to post on
- 33:40like our slash stories and stuff like that. Their last
- 33:43No sleep sends to be ten months ago. I think,
- 33:46so so still seem to be an active writer. We
- 33:49will have their account linked in the description below. But
- 33:53this story, again, Harry says, is in line with the
- 33:56last one that was gonna catch my video door bell
- 34:00Sin's Emotion Detected alert every night. At two fifty three,
- 34:03I found a form full of users experiencing the exact
- 34:06same issue as something seriously strange is going on. So
- 34:09another creepy security camera video? Hunter? Are you ready to
- 34:12get into it? Yeah?
- 34:14Speaker 3: Okay, damn, can't fucking get this sunstrow on there? The fuck?
- 34:25Speaker 4: Hold on? Move your thumb from the top. Okay, I
- 34:27thought I thought you had it upside down. Okay, I
- 34:30we can act like we're eight if you want. I
- 34:33don't think we could have started our platforms and you know,
- 34:37had this whole audience going in that same timeframe. But
- 34:40you know I would have had to have started YouTube
- 34:41when I was two, so.
- 34:48Speaker 3: That'd be good. Combo. You want to make a podcast,
- 34:52little boy? Well is yeah? What would you say?
- 34:57Speaker 4: I would be like, my mom told me not to
- 34:59talk to people like you.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Your mom's dumb.
- 35:02Speaker 4: I'd say, this is some penny wise energy.
- 35:06Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 35:07Speaker 4: That's what we need. We need, like we need a
- 35:10child to set right here and be like, that's scary you? Oh?
- 35:13Is that freaky? Are you scared?
- 35:15Speaker 3: I tell you what I've been Caprisa makes me gassy?
- 35:18Speaker 4: How it's liquid.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I think it's the I think it's whatever the chemicals
- 35:22they put in the fruit. They say, well, they say
- 35:25it's all natural ingredients, but I can't believe that. Okay,
- 35:28you're gonna putting all natural ingredients in this kind of container,
- 35:34probably coffee coffee with capriso and probably can't be a
- 35:37good combo.
- 35:37Speaker 4: You know? That would actually be well, no, I don't.
- 35:39I don't want to show her face like online until
- 35:43she's old enough, but my kid, but that would be
- 35:46excellent if we're still doing the thing in a few years,
- 35:49be like, was that scary? Did that freak you out? No?
- 35:53Speaker 3: Okay, okay, well there's how much longer do you think
- 35:58this has the show?
- 36:00Speaker 4: How long have we been doing it now? What can
- 36:02I don't ask you?
- 36:03Speaker 3: We would do it for like how long were we know this?
- 36:05Speaker 4: Three years? Years? We're pushing on a million subs. Typically
- 36:08the rule of thumb is after five years you're either
- 36:10like pack your bags or you're in it for the
- 36:12long call. I think at a million subs, which is
- 36:16like now away, so like right now, I don't know.
- 36:20Speaker 2: We're still we're like forty thousand subs away.
- 36:23Speaker 3: At a million, I think we we fucking right off
- 36:27in the sunset. We leave them wanting more to be
- 36:30ready for the next story. Let's go to the next story.
- 36:31Let's go the next story.
- 36:32Speaker 4: The following our post from the roost Video Doorbell help form.
- 36:35After my phone started spamming motion Detected alerts, did a
- 36:38quick Google search, stumbled across this thread, and created an account.
- 36:42In case it isn't obvious, my username is Lighting Nations.
- 36:46Dates are in UK format. Motion alert triggered every night
- 36:49at two fifty three. Dan King twenty two posted on
- 36:53twenty seven two at three oh six, trying this again
- 36:57because the admins are a bunch of winy snow flakes
- 37:00who cry whenever somebody uses. Okay, so actually you know what,
- 37:04immediately I think you should be Dan King after reading
- 37:08that percent that's a uke. Well he's British, yes, but
- 37:12he's talking about snowflakes, so whatever you think.
- 37:15Speaker 7: Join this again because because the admins are a bunch
- 37:18of whiny.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Snowflakes w cry whenever somebody uses and not a word.
- 37:26Speaker 4: There we go. That's all I wanted, was he is
- 37:29he British? Yeah?
- 37:31Speaker 7: Video doorbell sends motion look to my phone every night
- 37:34at two point fifty three. Tech support keeps saying it's
- 37:37picking banging gate or squirrel, but that's raddish.
- 37:40Speaker 3: All the camera says is a patio from furniture.
- 37:44Speaker 8: Can all get some assistance please?
- 37:50Speaker 4: Well, I'm so glad I did that all right? Reply
- 37:54from too Many Tofats. Oh yeah, because it would be
- 37:59to I'm like, what's a tow fat? Too many to Fats,
- 38:07it's too many top hats. I'm in the exact same
- 38:10boat two point fifty three each night like clockwork. There's
- 38:14weird pixelation distortion in the footage, but it works like
- 38:16a charm the rest of the time. Monitoring this thread
- 38:20to tech support not good enough. Reply from Paleo ten
- 38:24mine's doing the same thing. Bloody phone goes off every
- 38:27night and I get an alert with garbled footage. Support
- 38:30lines aren't much help. I've muted notifications for now, but
- 38:34it's a bit pointless having the camera if it won't
- 38:37warn me and the misses whenever someone's breaking in. A
- 38:40solution would be much appreciated. Cheers. Reply from Dan King.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Glad to say it is only me, don't bet on
- 38:48the phone to check going for.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Dice r slash Reply from deleted user. Hi Dan, there
- 38:55are instructions for that is how it goes.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Dan, My dad's been so emotionally calm this whole time.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Thank you for your patients. There are instructions for fixing
- 39:08this exact issue in the user guide, page fifty three.
- 39:12I've attached a PDF version here. Author's note, I've not
- 39:15included the link. Follow the troubleshooting steps and you'll be
- 39:18good as new. Replied Dan King, It's not.
- 39:21Speaker 3: A guide for a video doorbell.
- 39:23Speaker 7: Those are instructions for installing a samsunk smart fridge.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Did you have an on the wrong foul? How is
- 39:30I supposed to help anybody?
- 39:32Speaker 1: There's a such a pot forum for roots fion dormouse.
- 39:40Speaker 3: They are at all caps like that.
- 39:43Speaker 4: I mean it's like it's like the madest this guy
- 39:46has ever been over a doorbell reply Paleo Tin. Dan
- 39:51just ignored that poster. He's a troll. I'm pretty sure
- 39:54that's his sixth account reply from Dan King.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Doesn't this fucking it not have anything bad? Maybe just
- 40:02get a job with rus Jacksonport.
- 40:05Speaker 3: I mean it can't be that on good news for.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Once technical morage.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Sitting here replacement. I just had to shout at them
- 40:14for three hours.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Use they so swear.
- 40:19Speaker 4: I scrolled down. It's another reply from Dan King and
- 40:22the entire message is in all caps.
- 40:27Speaker 8: The replacement s it's the same a lodgs, no motion
- 40:30in the garden, no in turn it dilmos. I've checked
- 40:35the video feed and there's nothing. Check the fucking shape.
- 40:39I afraid of these idiots. One star on Amazon.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Replied from Lighting Nations, Hi everyone, Hi everyone, I'm afraid
- 40:54I'm in the exact same boat triggering in two fifty three.
- 40:58Video feed comes out garbled, but it's fine, works perfectly
- 41:01the rest of the day. Tech guy said it might
- 41:03be a low tree branch blowing in the wind, but
- 41:06I'd expect to be receiving random alerts spaced out across
- 41:08several hours, not once per day, at the exact same time.
- 41:12I spent a fair chunk of change on this thing,
- 41:14and now Roofs won't issue a refund, only replacements. Reply
- 41:18from deleted user. Sorry it's my fault, Dan. I was
- 41:21in the garden piping your mom down, wearing Camo gear,
- 41:24which is why you couldn't see us. No funny, that's
- 41:30really funny. After Dan blows up there like as like, sorry, Dan,
- 41:33I was doing your mom?
- 41:36Speaker 3: What was dick?
- 41:37Speaker 4: I was?
- 41:38Speaker 3: I was deep dicking your mom with me Willie.
- 41:41Speaker 4: He got the accounts deleted because Dan just killed him.
- 41:47Reply from Paleo ten. Okay, so I'm not so sure
- 41:50the doorbell's actually the problem. I got held up at
- 41:53work last night choice of working in it, and was
- 41:55heating dinner at two fifty three when the microwave fritzed.
- 41:59The digital blinked on and off for a full minute. Meanwhile,
- 42:02my echo device stopped mid song and I got another
- 42:05motion alert one minute later everything went back to normal. Well,
- 42:08maybe get an electrician round to have a look. Also,
- 42:12the footage distortion keeps getting worse now in the alerts.
- 42:16It kind of looks like there's static, except it's warping
- 42:19around the garden. Really gave my wife a heart attack.
- 42:22Apply from Lighting Nations. It's interesting about the electrics. Keep
- 42:25us posting Apply too many top hats A TV fridge
- 42:29just now, same problem as Palio ten blinked on an
- 42:32offer a full minute right as the motion alert came through.
- 42:35Do you think maybe these things are draining power when
- 42:39they do overnight software updates or something. I'm not very technical,
- 42:43might not make sense, just a thought. I'm just gonna
- 42:46check for grid faults with the council, such as life
- 42:49in the South of England, empty office blocks, righting hunger
- 42:52and now potential rolling blackouts, lovely reply lighting nations. Tell
- 42:56me about it. I'm in blank. Stories you hear are
- 43:00breaking reply Palio ten. Seriously, this is spooky. I'm in
- 43:04blank as well. I'm tempted to say there's a faulty
- 43:07batch of door bell sitting in an Amazon wirehouse somewhere
- 43:09that are going to start blowing fuses replacements on the
- 43:12way out to me. By the way, arranging before noticing
- 43:15the problems with the microwave, had the electrician round and
- 43:18he saw no problems. That'd have smashed this thing already.
- 43:21But the misses saw how much I spin on it,
- 43:23so apply too many top hats. Holy shit, this is
- 43:26too many top hats reporting to you. Live from blank
- 43:30and the twelve points from England go to not but seriously,
- 43:34rust ships internationally weird. We're all in the same city.
- 43:39Councils say everything's fine, by the way. Apply from new
- 43:42user Pixie Chick oh one Hi experiencing same issue. I
- 43:47feel like actually, you know what, you should also be
- 43:49pixie Chick. Just given the screen name.
- 43:51Speaker 2: I feel hi experiencing the same issue.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Also in reply too many top Hats quick update, the
- 43:59guy who lives doors down for me also has a
- 44:01roost door bell, different model, and he has the exact
- 44:04same problem. Motion alerts and muddled footage at two fifty
- 44:08three works like a charm at all other times. Also,
- 44:11we're both now getting garbled audio like feedback wine from
- 44:14an amplifier in the recordings. The fun never ends, replied
- 44:18Dan King. I been sick of this rubbish.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Can't say what I really think cause the stupid admit
- 44:25in its now getting somebody outside of it.
- 44:28Speaker 3: They sent me a third device, now it's start.
- 44:31Speaker 1: If one goes off again tonight, I'm gonna go outside
- 44:34and ribbon out of the door frame and send them
- 44:37repair bill.
- 44:38Speaker 5: I'm sick of this.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Just so much energy. Once. Have you ever got really
- 44:45mad with the customer service person.
- 44:47Speaker 3: All the time? Okay, they're not human. I don't talk
- 44:50to them as if they are human. Like how proud
- 44:52I was?
- 44:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you kind of like readjusted. You're like, yeah, I'm
- 44:55better than them. Wait and then another replied from Dan King.
- 45:00Speaker 7: Actually the device is working now, is attended? Go out
- 45:02saw it two fifty three?
- 45:03Speaker 3: Check the camera.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Alright, So Dan either is like super okay or he's.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Dan's fucking dead.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a skin walker, like a British skin walker.
- 45:15Speaker 4: It's working.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Go outside, you call it British skin walker.
- 45:19Speaker 4: A skin chap wow skin, chapskin, chapskin, chepskin, old chap
- 45:28skin coming down the block on the top.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Of Dan King's durned himself and do a chap skin.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Yeah, see it works, Yeah, chap skin. I mean skin
- 45:39walker is kind of a slur in itself, right, seem
- 45:42like this ancient monster that like steals the faces of
- 45:46what it kills, and it's like, oh what we got here?
- 45:50Skin walker? I think you can walk around in people's skin.
- 45:53Huh Australia what oh No, I mean, I mean skin
- 46:02walker's a native legends, so British or Australia would not
- 46:04interact with one.
- 46:06Speaker 3: I like chaps I like chapskin. Yeah, oh my god,
- 46:10it's a thing of mystery. It's a chap skin over there.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that's like, yeah, that makes sense. Chapskin.
- 46:19Speaker 3: You filthy chap skin.
- 46:20Speaker 4: Yeah, when you had filthy when you head filthy to
- 46:25it really changes the tonation.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Hey, get on the Hey, Hey driving them on a
- 46:32chap skin.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Those blokes can't drive it.
- 46:40Speaker 4: This used to be a nice neighborhood to the reply
- 46:46Paleo Tin, I've got my replacement installed in this one
- 46:49bugs out worse than before. Now the bell rings for
- 46:52one minute NonStop, and I get constant there's somebody at
- 46:55the door alerts hearing the stupid jingle in my dreams.
- 46:59Now I won't even show the wife the footage because
- 47:01it's like a figure made of pixels keeps ringing the bell,
- 47:05also hearing the high pitched screech when I play back footage.
- 47:08I'm seriously about to go all office space on this thing.
- 47:11Apply too many top hats? Yeah, I'm confused, Dan, Could
- 47:15you elaborate, preferably with less capital letters and more punctuation
- 47:19than usual. Apply Paleo ten, Dan was right, go outside
- 47:23of two fifty three? Check the camera lighting nations. Reply
- 47:27what do you mean? Check the camera? Check what specifically?
- 47:30Too many top hats? Yeah, uh plus one. Please elaborate.
- 47:34I've got the same problem as Paleo. Now lightning full
- 47:38minute of somebody at the door alerts and constant ding
- 47:41dong ding dong with multiple distortions about the garden. When
- 47:44I play back the recording audio from outside, it's all screechy. Also,
- 47:48the app is useless. Tried disabling alerts on the phone,
- 47:52but they still came through. Already it couldn't sleep because
- 47:55the wind keeps banging the gate. This is the last
- 47:58thing I need to be honest, I'll be hearing that
- 48:01stupid two note chime in hell the way things are going.
- 48:05One more night of this and I'm grabbing the sledgehammer.
- 48:07Let's see if it detects that motion reply too many
- 48:10top hats. The others were right, go outside of two
- 48:14fifty three check the camera reply, Lighting Nations. What it's
- 48:18freezing this time of year. I'm not getting out of
- 48:21bed in the middle of the night to check the camera.
- 48:23I've decided to get a ring device instead and cut
- 48:25my losses. It's already been ordered. Cheers. So then that's
- 48:29the end of the forum post and now it's back
- 48:30to Lighting Nations account. Later that night, my phone buzz
- 48:34on the bedside table, like always, Motion detected alerts started
- 48:37coming through. A two fifty three pulled up the grainy
- 48:40feed from outside and in it. There were vague suggestions
- 48:43of figures scattered about the garden by the fence post,
- 48:47under the tree, peeking through downstairs windows. Meanwhile, the soft
- 48:52two note chime rang out, ding Dong ding Dong. It
- 48:58happened again and again, gathering speed, morphing into a hysterical scream,
- 49:03ding dong ding dong, ding dong ding dong. I got
- 49:06up and peeled back the curtain just a few inches.
- 49:09All of a sudden, there came a pounding from downstairs,
- 49:12a furious thumb thumb, dumb, so powerful the windows and
- 49:16doors almost burst from their housings. What are you smiling about?
- 49:21Speaker 3: I'm Mary Dresden. This is my neighborhood. Motherfucker.
- 49:30Speaker 4: It's him.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I was, I was, I was thinking about that like
- 49:34halfway through him, like it's.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Just that guy.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Let me worrish I who's Harry dressed in the guy
- 49:40that went like you know the guy the viral ring
- 49:43all that video.
- 49:44Speaker 3: That's right, that's Mary Dresden.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Which also that's like a video game character's neighbors that
- 49:48opened the fucking door.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Now I'm just picturing that guy out there with that door,
- 49:54with the bellies like a.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Whipping ugh ding Dong, ding Dong, ding Dong, ding Dong.
- 50:06The house became alive with movement. It felt like being
- 50:08trapped inside a tornado. Everything around me rattling and quivering,
- 50:12storm shutters, scratching against walls, the letterbox wrapping away. Ding Dong,
- 50:16ding Dong, ding Dong. I sprinted into the bathroom and
- 50:19barricaded myself inside and called the police, phone buzzing with
- 50:22the course of NonStop alerts. There's someone at the door,
- 50:25there's someone at the door, there's someone And then out
- 50:28of nowhere, the house lowered its voice and went back
- 50:31to sleep. Checked my phone two fifty four, now trembling,
- 50:37I brought up the feed from outside. There was nothing
- 50:40except a peaceful garden and the quiet section of street
- 50:43that lay beyond it. Two officers turned up, checked the footage,
- 50:47dismiss the encounter is a mixture of a technical glitch
- 50:50and overactive imagination and some nasty weather. But when I
- 50:53next clicked onto the forum, there were four new posts.
- 50:57Speaker 3: It's two fifty three. Time to come outside, replied ten.
- 51:01Speaker 4: It's two fifty three time to come outside, Reply Pixie
- 51:04chickoh one.
- 51:05Speaker 7: It's two fifty three time to come outside.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Reply, too many top hats. It's two fifty three. Time
- 51:10to come outside. That's pretty fun. That's a fun little
- 51:15story of like this uh entity that's like at this
- 51:18one minute for whatever reason in this area, it's going
- 51:20door to door trying to convince people that they need
- 51:23to come outside, and seemingly they join it or it
- 51:26consumes them then pretends to be them or something like that.
- 51:28But it's a fun thing told through like a help
- 51:30for them for a doorbell thing.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's a die coke.
- 51:35Speaker 4: I'm sorry, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Sorry. You
- 51:41don't have to apologize. I understand what happened.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Man, Time's creepy.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Huh what like time time itself concept?
- 51:52Speaker 4: All right? So that was Lighting Nations. You can check
- 51:54them out. I'll be linked in the scripture below. Hunter.
- 51:56We have one more story today, all right. That story
- 51:58is I was an air traffic controller at Atlantic Municipal Airport,
- 52:02Iowa for twenty seven years. First year at the job,
- 52:05I willingly went from a firm atheist to a believer.
- 52:08And the story is posted by I nace The name
- 52:11is I n Aaacee. The profile picture is terrifying.
- 52:18Speaker 3: Their profile picture is sertifying. Yes, uh yeah, that is
- 52:21kind of fucked up. So Michael Jackson needed a potato.
- 52:24Speaker 4: I don't think that's Michael Jackson, that is it. I
- 52:27don't think. So. They posted a lot in our slash
- 52:30golf and golf and stuff like that. About four years
- 52:32ago they started talking about how they have cancer and
- 52:36how that's making more making it more and more difficult
- 52:38to play. And then they post a lo on ar
- 52:40slash cancer about their condition and stuff like that, and
- 52:43then they haven't posted in three years.
- 52:46Speaker 2: It's pretty rough, mane. This is the second person we've
- 52:50come across it. We're just like people have recommended the
- 52:52story and then you find out the person who's passed.
- 52:53It's such a weird part of this podcast. And even
- 52:57just being like an Internet user stumbling across people's just
- 53:02completely live interactions.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Like you look at these comments, you're just like, oh,
- 53:04these are people that are just he liked five. But
- 53:07now there's so much.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Documentation out there now that it's just like, uh, you're
- 53:11gonna you're gonna keep seeing this, Like people years from now,
- 53:13we're gonna see stuff, or like whenever we're gone to
- 53:15they're gonna see that stuff and be like that's insane,
- 53:17you know, like it's just it's odd.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Well, I mean it's it's kind of like you know,
- 53:22people always say if it's on the Internet, it's there forever,
- 53:24which is normally meant as a negative thing, but in
- 53:27other ways, you know, you have something like this where
- 53:30eleven years ago, this guy wrote a story that he
- 53:34thought was cool enough to post online, and other people,
- 53:36even after he passes, still recommend it, still think it's
- 53:40a cool story, still pass it around. I remember there
- 53:43was there's this YouTube video by guy named Jacob Geller.
- 53:47He makes like these really cool video essays, but he
- 53:49was talking about this video game where the plot of
- 53:52it was like it's these eternal beings that are trying
- 53:54to figure out how to make stories basically, and the
- 53:57resolution that come to at the end is they can't
- 53:59understand storytelling because they're not human. They're not temporary creatures
- 54:03who know loss and life and stuff like that. And
- 54:07Jacob Geller said something at the end of the video
- 54:09I think about all the time. He said, stories are
- 54:11our immortality. They're a kinder collective immortality. I've always thought
- 54:16that's such a cool way to look at it. It's
- 54:18like all of us contribute to this one thing that
- 54:20a piece of us lives on forever. Sure it's not
- 54:22all about us, but in that way, we never die.
- 54:25I think that's a really cool idea. And this is
- 54:27an example of that where he's gone. We didn't even
- 54:29know he was gone because the only thing that we
- 54:30were introduced to was that it's a cool story some
- 54:33of that stage. So that's pretty cool. So I nace.
- 54:37We'll have their account linked in description if you want
- 54:39to scroll through see what else sayve written and stuff
- 54:41like that. But in honor of them, hunter, are you
- 54:44ready to get into it?
- 54:45Speaker 3: Let's get into it.
- 54:46Speaker 4: My uncle and aunt came to visit me here in Atlanta.
- 54:49We got to talking about all sorts of general things,
- 54:52you know how family is, but we somehow ended up
- 54:55on the topic of strange and supernatural. This is when
- 54:58my uncle started telling me is story that he says
- 55:01will haunt him all the way to his grave. I
- 55:04stopped him two minutes into it, got to my laptop
- 55:07because I wanted to write it down for no sleep.
- 55:10These are his memories, almost word for word. Forgive the
- 55:13non traditional writing. Are you typing? You are okay? Okay,
- 55:18and your friends on the internet will read this all right,
- 55:22but warn them that these are just old man's memories. Okay,
- 55:26So back to the beginning. So I graduated from Fordham
- 55:29in nineteen seventy four and still had no idea what
- 55:32to do. Times were different then. We were able to
- 55:35find jobs easily. God I remember companies practically begging us
- 55:39to work for him. But I didn't want to do
- 55:41some shitty dash job for the rest of my life,
- 55:44so I waited. Then one day, while flying to visit
- 55:47your inn on Thanksgiving, I caught myself being fascinated with
- 55:50the complexity of air traffic systems. It's all it took.
- 55:55I decided to become an air traffic controller. By the
- 55:57time I turned twenty seven, I had passed all have
- 56:00the necessary test, and have accumulated enough experience to be
- 56:03hired and work without a supervision. Thing with air traffic
- 56:06controllers is that you don't really get to choose where
- 56:09you're going to work. In the beginning. Sure, we all
- 56:12wanted to work at JFK or Hartsfield Jackson, but those
- 56:16jobs just weren't available to us rookies. So I had
- 56:19to take a job in a bum little town in
- 56:21Iowa called Atlantic. It was literally a single landing strip
- 56:24and a damn cornfield. I had to pay my dues
- 56:27and the money was all right. Now, small airports like
- 56:30these usually only work eight to five, but this particular
- 56:34strip was in such a geographical location that there were
- 56:37a lot of flights going above us at any time,
- 56:40so we needed to stay open until four am in
- 56:43case of emergency landing. By staying open, I mean I
- 56:46had to sit in the control tower and there was
- 56:49one security guy sleeping in the airport's only terminal. It
- 56:52wasn't that bad, really. I'd bring my books and crossword puzzles,
- 56:56and I'd spend hours on the phone with your aunt. You. Now,
- 56:59they say that the air traffic controllers the most stressful
- 57:01job in the world. Well, I was bored ninety nine
- 57:04percent of the time, and that one percent was guiding
- 57:07small cessnas into my cornfield airport. So why am I
- 57:10telling you all this? Well, about three months into my job,
- 57:14something started happening, something that even today I can't really
- 57:19I'll save you the talk about the supernatural, but what
- 57:21happened at that airport just st ain't right. February twentieth
- 57:24nineteen seventy nine. I remember it like it was yesterday.
- 57:29It was a regular winter night in Iowa, winds and
- 57:32freezing cold, but no snow. I was supposed to work
- 57:36until close, although we didn't have any flight scheduled. Around
- 57:40one am, I received radio message from a small Cessna
- 57:43about thirty miles from the airport. They were having really
- 57:46bad snowstorm up in Omaha and he had to land
- 57:48here in Atlantic. I guess being open late was justified.
- 57:51After all, got my binoculars out, verified the visibility, and
- 57:56started gotting the aircraft, though it was really windy out there.
- 58:00The man shoed touch down. I looked through the binoculars
- 58:04to verify the landing went okay, and that's when I
- 58:07saw her for the first time, just walking down the
- 58:10runway as if it were a normal street. Was this woman?
- 58:14Speaker 3: Shit?
- 58:15Speaker 4: I don't know. Now. There were about one hundred things
- 58:18wrong with this situation. First, the woman was wearing some
- 58:21sort of short summer dress or a nightgown. She was barefoot,
- 58:26believe it or not, normal person would be cold dressed
- 58:30like that during the summer, let alone our winter. And
- 58:33then you had to wonder what in the world was
- 58:36this person doing walking down the active runway and how
- 58:39the hell did she get there?
- 58:40Speaker 2: To begin with flighty four. This is Alex from air
- 58:43Traffic Control. Do you happen to see a woman walking
- 58:45down the runway towards you?
- 58:47Speaker 4: I asked the pilot who just landed, let me chat.
- 58:50Still watching through binoculars, I saw him open the door
- 58:53of the plane to get out started walking towards the woman.
- 58:57Not gonna lie at that point, I was a lot
- 59:00of fun. Not much happened in Atlantic, Iowa, and this
- 59:03certainly wasn't entertaining. I couldn't wait to hear her story.
- 59:07My bet was that she got in a car accident
- 59:09near the airport. Well. Pilot walked up to her, and
- 59:12I could make it that he was saying something. I
- 59:15saw still through the binoculars her leaned to his ear
- 59:18and almost whispered something to him. He just stood there
- 59:23for a good ten seconds, with neither of them moving.
- 59:27She was still leaning close to his ear, and then
- 59:29he snapped out of it. I guess turned around and
- 59:33literally sprinted to the plane. When I saw the propellers
- 59:36starting to rotate, I jumped on my radio Flight eighty four,
- 59:39what are you doing? No?
- 59:41Speaker 3: Answer Flight eighty four, I repeat, what is happening?
- 59:44Speaker 4: Nothing? Then the plane started moving, speeding up.
- 59:47Speaker 3: Flight eighty four. You did not have permission to take off?
- 59:50I repeat, you are not cleared for takeoff.
- 59:52Speaker 4: There was no answer that damn Cessna kept speeding up,
- 59:55then took off. Now that I could do really besides
- 59:58making sure that no other planes we're above us at
- 1:00:00the time, I tried one more time.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Flight eighty four, this is air traffic control. What the
- 1:00:05hell is happening?
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: Then my radio started making white noise. It was all
- 1:00:12I could hear coming from the radio.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Fight eighty four. Please repeat, you're breaking up?
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: What a night?
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I thought?
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Radio started transmitting again. Run Run, Run flighty four.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Did you see the run? Please repeat yourself.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Nothing else came from that was the damn radio. The
- 1:00:30plane was long gone. Dude. If I was in air
- 1:00:33traffic and I wentnes se and then the guys like run, run, run,
- 1:00:37I'd be like, well, all right, got it, traffic control?
- 1:00:40Yeah no, fuck yeah, you're alone in the whole airport.
- 1:00:43It's just I'm good, Yeah, okay, all right. I mean
- 1:00:49I'm either running immediately or I'm never leaving that room
- 1:00:51again forever until sunlight, and I'm like, someone's gonna have
- 1:00:54to pull me out of here. I sat in my
- 1:00:57chair trying to decipher what just happened. Run from what
- 1:01:02what the helen? Then it dawned on me the woman
- 1:01:06grab the binoculars. She was looking straight at me. Yeah, no, no, no,
- 1:01:13absolutely not a good two hundred yards away at night.
- 1:01:18She was somehow looking straight at me, eyes open so wide.
- 1:01:22It's hard to explain what she looked like. I guess
- 1:01:26you know how when someone's super surprised. I don't like it.
- 1:01:32It's like the yeah, like the impossibly wide eyes.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Almost like she has no eye.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: It kind of reminds me of the image of the
- 1:01:41woman in my head's the image of that girl from
- 1:01:43the beginning of the first VHS. Oh sure, I want you,
- 1:01:48I want you? Yeah that one, Yeah yeah, that's what
- 1:01:50he says. I like you, yeah yeah. Like when you
- 1:01:52startle someone in their eyes just get so wide, some
- 1:01:55sort of fence mechanism. I suppose that's how she was
- 1:01:58looking at me in the world at that moment.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: She started running towards me, some fucking barefoot, demonic bitch
- 1:02:12running towards me, you kidd me?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Fuck that?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: No, I I'd have I'd have my parachute backpack and
- 1:02:18I'd be gliding out of that Oh.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Bro, oh my gosh. That always freaks me out in
- 1:02:30stories or like movies and stuff where someone you can
- 1:02:32have a dead friend running really fast but it's far
- 1:02:35enough away.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Like the binoculars kind of things.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Yeah, you look up. She started running towards my tower,
- 1:02:40like not jogging, but really running, still looking straight at me.
- 1:02:45I swear to you, goosebumps ran all over me, like
- 1:02:47ten thousand cold ants. What do you mean by that?
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: Uncle?
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: You know, well, we've all had ten thousand warmans.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: I thought that was kind of fun.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Imagine all jas were cold. You know, I'm not one
- 1:02:59to get scared. Shit, I spent six years in Vietnam.
- 1:03:03Something about this situation so something that I don't know.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: There's something.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: This girl and you off here, something about the situation,
- 1:03:18something about that pilot telling me to run and this
- 1:03:21woman running towards me. Something seems so wrong.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Joe, are you there?
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Joe blurted into the radio. Joe's our not security guard.
- 1:03:30He didn't answer. Ship. I looked through the window just
- 1:03:33in time to see the woman run into my tail.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Oh my god, dude, brot the I got the one pilot,
- 1:03:41Like the one pilot desported back to his plane and
- 1:03:43he just had a plane and just it's actually such
- 1:03:48a fun visual, now.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: Okay, run and the like. He doesn't say anything to
- 1:03:53the guy except running and run. What a loser to
- 1:03:59not give anything to not be like taking a tower?
- 1:04:04Run run, this guy helped you land your plane. Look
- 1:04:11through the window just in time to see the woman
- 1:04:12run into my tower. I heard the door downstairs slam open.
- 1:04:16I honestly didn't know what to do. This wasn't a
- 1:04:19rational situation. You know, if it were some sort of
- 1:04:22terrorist or whatever, I know what needs to be done.
- 1:04:24But this was this situation malicious. It was certainly strange.
- 1:04:29And that exact weirdness that not knowing what is happening
- 1:04:33is what made me run into the bathroom and lock
- 1:04:35the doors. So I turned the lock. I heard the
- 1:04:38control room doors open. You know, in your Generations movies,
- 1:04:43you just your quiet footsteps of some invaders slowly looking
- 1:04:46for you, and then the shadow show up under the door. Well,
- 1:04:51this was the opposite. As soon as those doors opened,
- 1:04:55chaos began. I tried peeking through the keyhole but all
- 1:05:00I was able to see is fast shadow running across
- 1:05:03the room, accompanied by tremendous noise. I swear I was
- 1:05:07so shocked that at one point I nearly opened the
- 1:05:10door just to see what was causing all this. Then
- 1:05:12a hard slam into the bathroom door had me nearly
- 1:05:15fall on the floor, and then nothing silence. I could
- 1:05:19line pretend I was brave enough to get out of
- 1:05:21that bathroom soon after, but I wasn't. I'll admit it.
- 1:05:24I stayed in there the whole night. Waent for the
- 1:05:26morning shift. Around seven fifty four am, I heard a
- 1:05:29familiar voice say, what the fuck? It was Clark, the
- 1:05:33morning shift controller. I opened the door to see a
- 1:05:35scene so twisted that even to this day, I remember
- 1:05:38every detail. Control room was nearly totaled. Radios ripped out,
- 1:05:43papers and manuscripts everywhere, Radar screens smashed to pieces. When
- 1:05:47the police came, I gave the full report. Took eleven
- 1:05:50days to repair all the equipment and get the room
- 1:05:52fully functional. Security guard on duty that night was fired.
- 1:05:57They even started considering installing security cameras. I know today
- 1:06:00that seems like a normal thing to you, but it
- 1:06:02wasn't back in the day. Police had no idea what
- 1:06:05to make of it. It just urged us to report
- 1:06:07anything suspicious. I used the eleven day break to sort
- 1:06:10myself out, and by the end of that force vacation,
- 1:06:13I was convinced that all of this was caused by
- 1:06:15some deranged woman, possibly a mental patient. Whenever made me
- 1:06:19sleep at night right. Came back to work on March fourth.
- 1:06:23I was a bit worried about working nights again, but
- 1:06:25I was convinced that whoever did this was far gone
- 1:06:29by now. The next month or so was very uneventful.
- 1:06:32That's how I liked it. Iowa was scheduled to get
- 1:06:35hit with the big snowstorm that day. Most of the
- 1:06:38flights were grounded, but some were still in the air
- 1:06:40and I had to work. I hated it because if
- 1:06:43we did get hit with heavy snow, I'd probably end
- 1:06:45up being stranded. I wish that was the worst thing
- 1:06:48that happened. Around eleven PM that night, when it was
- 1:06:51already snowing big time, I received radio message from a
- 1:06:54small private jet that was some fifty miles away. They
- 1:06:57were getting caught in heavy winds in the pilots wanted
- 1:06:59to in our airport immediately. Now, jets like that would
- 1:07:03traditionally be too big to land at our strip, but
- 1:07:05the emergency like this called for overriding of guidelines.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Flight six seven six, you were a clue to land.
- 1:07:12We have to remain in contact at all times. The
- 1:07:14strip's pretty short, do you acknowledge shut thing?
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: Let's just get this fucking down, shall we?
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: Snowing heavily by that point. Thankfully, we had a clean
- 1:07:21up crew d ice and clean the runway before they
- 1:07:23headed home, so it was still in decent condition. Again,
- 1:07:26back then, we were way more relaxed about the rules.
- 1:07:29I took a look at the strip to make sure
- 1:07:31it was clear out of nowhere. Just when I forgot
- 1:07:34about her, she appeared. She was just slowly strolling down
- 1:07:38the strip, about one hundred yards away from the tower,
- 1:07:42her bare feet slowly moving across the freezing asphalt. The
- 1:07:45worst part about it, she was looking straight at me
- 1:07:48again again, those crazy eyes. This is when I realized
- 1:07:53what the most disturbing thing about her was. She wasn't blinking.
- 1:07:56I was looking at her for a good two minutes,
- 1:07:58winds and snow lasting in her face, and she wasn't blinking.
- 1:08:02It was almost as if she didn't want to lose
- 1:08:04a millisecond of looking straight at me.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Oh God, flight to seven six. Maintain, I repeat, maintain
- 1:08:10the altitude until further communication traffic.
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: Control, this is six seven six.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: That's a negative. We cannot maintain with head winds like this.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: We have to land.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Are we clear?
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: We're six minutes away.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: I couldn't risk the lives of people up in that plane.
- 1:08:25I had to land them despite this, whatever this was.
- 1:08:29Walking down the runway.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Cleared the land six seven to six.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: I put down the radio and look through the window.
- 1:08:34She was now some ten yards away, coming closer to
- 1:08:37the tower. Though I shouldn't, under any circumstances leave the
- 1:08:42control room. I ran down to the first floor and
- 1:08:44locked the outside door. I knew she was close, and
- 1:08:47I knew she was coming. I got back to the room,
- 1:08:50I heard the radio control tr.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: We're approaching the runway, Please advise rotate three degrees right.
- 1:08:55Acknowledge copy that we see the lights down. See you soon.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: Looked up through the window and could see the plane
- 1:09:02in the distance. There was no trace of the woman
- 1:09:05on the runway. Beside a breath of relief, I was
- 1:09:08gonna deal with this issue after the jet had safely landed.
- 1:09:11At that moment, a loud noise broke through the tower.
- 1:09:16I didn't want to believe it, but I was afraid
- 1:09:18that the first floor door had slammed open. How the
- 1:09:22hell I locked it? I know I did. I think
- 1:09:25goosebumps overcame me again, almost as if my body could
- 1:09:28feel something that I couldn't. My first instinct was to
- 1:09:32lock myself in the bathroom again, but I couldn't. I
- 1:09:35couldn't leave the radio. Footsteps on the metal stairs were
- 1:09:38getting louder. She I assumed it was her wasn't running
- 1:09:42at the least, but the violent sound of footsteps made
- 1:09:45me think she was what, slamming her feet into the
- 1:09:48ground with every step she made. Six seven six. This
- 1:09:51is traffic control. I have visual confirmation clear to land.
- 1:09:55I heard the control room doors open. This is when
- 1:09:57I realized just how afraid I was. You know, I'm
- 1:10:01almost seventy now, and I'm not embarrassed to admit how
- 1:10:04scared I was at that moment. Matter of fact, I
- 1:10:08was so scared that I couldn't even turn around. If
- 1:10:10you can believe that, I just couldn't face what was
- 1:10:13behind me. This was very unusual because I was always
- 1:10:16composed and rational, always, whether it was being stuck in
- 1:10:21a ditch and Vietnamese jungle or being nearly hit by
- 1:10:24an eighteen wheeler on the highway, always calm. And there
- 1:10:27I was staring straight at my radio, unable to turn
- 1:10:31my head and face it. I'm sure your friends on
- 1:10:35the internet will laugh I reacted, but I guarantee most
- 1:10:38of you would have been the same, And I guarantee
- 1:10:41most of you would behave the same. Your body just
- 1:10:44doesn't behave normally when you're terrified traffic control. Thirty seconds out.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: I slowly press the talk button on the radio, my
- 1:10:53teeth literally chattering.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: All clear.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Then I felt a cold breath on my neck. She
- 1:10:59was behind me, breathing slowly into my neck. I could
- 1:11:04feel the lips move up to my ear. You know
- 1:11:08how when you're a kid and someone was messing behind
- 1:11:11your back, making faces or bunny ears, and you could
- 1:11:13somehow feel it. I could feel the mouth an inch
- 1:11:17from my ear, though I couldn't even see her with
- 1:11:21the corner of my eye. I was still nearly paralyzed.
- 1:11:24I admit I used to be ashamed of my inability
- 1:11:26to act in this surreal situation. But now when I
- 1:11:29look at it, no one can tell me they'd react
- 1:11:32any differently. It just wasn't in an earthly situation, you know, come.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Down to feel it. Come down.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: Whisper crawled into my ear. You normally think that ear
- 1:11:44in a voice would somehow diffuse the situation, or at
- 1:11:47least brush away any thoughts of supernatural. But that voice
- 1:11:51was so different than anything I've ever heard. I'm not
- 1:11:55a writer. I can't explain it. It was cold, human even,
- 1:12:00But what scared me the most was the anger I
- 1:12:03felt in it. Though she whispered, I could feel the rage,
- 1:12:08and I don't even know to put it into words.
- 1:12:10Her voice lacked something that every other voice had. I
- 1:12:13don't know.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Touchdown, traffic control six seven six on the ground.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: Ipe, you have some hot choking the ready.
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: The woman behind me snapped back, and I heard what
- 1:12:21I assumed was running. I forced myself to turn around
- 1:12:24just in time to her running out barefoot six seven six. Welcome,
- 1:12:30I made myself say into the radio, though my legs
- 1:12:33were still foreign to the rest of my body. I
- 1:12:35propped myself up and looked through the window I was
- 1:12:38expecting to see the woman running out, but she was
- 1:12:40nowhere to be seen. I thought that she was still
- 1:12:44in the building. This time, I managed to get the
- 1:12:46security on the radio and he showed up a few
- 1:12:48minutes later, did a full walk through the tower, no
- 1:12:51trace of the woman. I started feeling relieved only when
- 1:12:54the police showed I started feeling relieved only when the
- 1:12:57police showed up. They thoroughly so the building with no success.
- 1:13:02They did notice the trace of footsteps coming from the
- 1:13:04neighboring cornfield to the tower, but there were no prints
- 1:13:07going back. Imagine my situation at the time. Just take
- 1:13:10a second to think about it. You're the only one
- 1:13:13to ever see this woman. I'll call her a woman.
- 1:13:16I wouldn't be surprised if the police started thinking that
- 1:13:19I was hitting the bottle during work. I decided to
- 1:13:22keep it to myself until I could prove there was
- 1:13:24this person's disrupting or haunting the airport. I couldn't really quit,
- 1:13:30and honestly, would you probably not. I mean, yes, these
- 1:13:35were two absolutely surreal experiences, and I did feel some
- 1:13:38sort of intangible hazard, but I didn't think my life
- 1:13:41was ever in danger. I decided to stick with it.
- 1:13:44Winner was almost over. Anyways, Spring brought more horror than
- 1:13:47Winner ever could in de part one. I gotta say
- 1:13:50this is pretty good. I'm vibing with this. I'm vibing
- 1:13:54with this tone pretty much. I like the like, for one,
- 1:13:59what did to have that thing behind you and not
- 1:14:02abandon your post for the plane coming in? You could
- 1:14:09have done that on You could have done that on
- 1:14:12the show. That would have been funny. I see, I
- 1:14:14got you. Yeah, he was like air traffic control, gotta
- 1:14:16go to I think that this is a fun setup
- 1:14:23with the creepy woman and it's like, you don't know
- 1:14:26what she wants, but it's clearly hostile the way she runs,
- 1:14:28and now she wants them to come out to the
- 1:14:30cornfield and it only shows up when there's emergency landing.
- 1:14:32So I think it's pretty cool. It's a cool concept.
- 1:14:34I think that the uncle's a g for surviving through
- 1:14:37this and like not abandoning his post when most people would.
- 1:14:42This is a really cool story so far. I'm excited
- 1:14:44for part two. Are you ready?
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: I am ready Part two?
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: Part two. This won't make much sense to you if
- 1:14:51you haven't read my first right up from a few
- 1:14:52months back. Again, this was a conversation with my uncle,
- 1:14:55who was an air traffic controller in Atlantic Musical Airport
- 1:14:57in Iowa during the seventies. This is his account, word
- 1:15:00for word. I'm just kind it up. The city council
- 1:15:03finally listened to me and decided to install a security camera.
- 1:15:06Due to municipal bureaucracy and limited funds, or so they say,
- 1:15:10they only mounted one camera that could stream video to
- 1:15:13the control room stream, not record. Let that sink in.
- 1:15:17Who installs cameras that only stream? Town of Atlantic does,
- 1:15:20That's who. Anyways, I had to pick my battles, so
- 1:15:24I had them install a camera in front of the
- 1:15:25tower door. That way I could always see who's outside.
- 1:15:29A good month has passed since the last encounter, and
- 1:15:31to be honest, the horror started it all away. It
- 1:15:34was still fresh in my mind, yes, but the lack
- 1:15:36of new developments had me thinking it all ended as
- 1:15:39quickly as it started. My mind. She was probably some
- 1:15:42lunatic who decided to move on. Then, on May third,
- 1:15:46I received a memo letting me know I needed to
- 1:15:48stay late that day since some local politicians plane was
- 1:15:52due to land around ten pm. Naturally, I guess my
- 1:15:56mind went straight to thinking about the crazy girl. You know.
- 1:15:59This was was the first late night for me since
- 1:16:01the last encounter. Nine forty five came around and there
- 1:16:04was no side of the plane. I didn't care, though
- 1:16:08my eyes were glued to the binoculars, searching for any
- 1:16:11movement on the strip, even a minimal commotion, and my
- 1:16:15heart would race. Then. God, it still scares me to
- 1:16:19this day. Then, for some reason, I decided to look
- 1:16:23down at the monitor that camera was streaming on, and
- 1:16:26my world turned upside down. I expected her, I really did.
- 1:16:30You can expect something unnatural, but you're never really ready
- 1:16:34for it. You always hope that it was just your
- 1:16:37imagination or something. But no, there she stood right in
- 1:16:42front of the camera in her summer white dress. She
- 1:16:45looked different though. She was holding her arms as if
- 1:16:48she were freezing. She was shaking, and I could hear
- 1:16:51crying through the shitty speakers they gave me. This wasn't
- 1:16:54the enity I remember terrorizing me. Then she looked up
- 1:16:58at the camera, and though the picture was granny and
- 1:17:00black and white, I can see tears in her eyes.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Please it's preezing out here.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: Cried at the camera. Audio was obviously out of sync
- 1:17:10as she opened her mouth and voice would come through
- 1:17:12my speakers much later. Please, I'm not sure what you
- 1:17:17do in that situation, but I immediately saw an opportunity.
- 1:17:21If I can bring her in and call the security guard,
- 1:17:23i'd finally have the proof that I wasn't making it
- 1:17:25all up.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: Jerry, get to the control tower right now, please.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: He said as I stood up.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: He's gonna let her in, I think, because he's like
- 1:17:34it's the proof that I need, and she's like desperate.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: I guess just have him come look at the camera.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Well, that's not how they do it in Iowa.
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: You know what. I don't care what happens to this
- 1:17:42guy now. Immediately, Oh my good will, I've got to
- 1:17:45let this thing inside. I walk down. I know I
- 1:17:48shouldn't have left an active control tower, but this was
- 1:17:51my chance. Propped the door open. Adrenaline burst through my pores.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: Are you okay?
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: I mumbled, with my voice cracking like a schoolgirl's shit.
- 1:18:00I was scared, man, you know, yeah, you're opening the
- 1:18:03door for this thing. She was still sobbing, hair covering
- 1:18:07her face. I was shaking, not sure whether from cold
- 1:18:10or fear or both, but I needed to get her
- 1:18:13to come in. I stepped out. She took a step
- 1:18:17towards me, still crying.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Ma'am, are you all right?
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: I spoke again, this time more firmly. She moved the
- 1:18:25hair off her face and looked me straight in the eyes. Damn,
- 1:18:30I can't explain it, but her eyes, although still filled
- 1:18:34with tears, just weren't the same as on camera. They widened,
- 1:18:39and I swear to you she wasn't blinking.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Man, please step back.
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: I said, as she moved another step closer.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Just opened the door for all right, closed the door
- 1:18:49for whoa, whoa?
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: Whoa? Why?
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: Baby?
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: What's all?
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: What's all?
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: This?
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: A right? Baby, sweetheart, I'm gonna need.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: You to take a step back. Hey, b babe, go
- 1:18:56I need do a dog I need to do to
- 1:18:58take a cowboy step back. This is like my impression
- 1:19:04of Nick's discordant. Yeah, you didn't need to take a
- 1:19:08couple of step back, yeah, I said. Is. She moved
- 1:19:11one step closer, now about a foot away from me.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: Ma'am, Please step back, she repeated. Oh, she saying, man,
- 1:19:17please step back.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: She repeated my words, nearly freezing blood off.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: He's like getting the bones.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Yeah, this is like a skin walker thing that's been
- 1:19:31haunting the corn field for years. And he's like, oh,
- 1:19:33come on in, I gotta show someone else that you're
- 1:19:36I got to kill my friend. My legs gave in
- 1:19:40and I almost fell to the ground. Her voice, her voice,
- 1:19:43wasn't the same one that spoke into the camera. This
- 1:19:47voice was genderless. Is that word? It was?
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: They them?
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: I think it's non binary. Her voice didn't belong to
- 1:19:58a woman or a man. I swear to you, but
- 1:20:01that wasn't what petrified me to these goosebumps. Now you
- 1:20:04know I'm telling the truth, right. Her voice came out
- 1:20:07with delay, just like on the camera. Her lips moved,
- 1:20:12but the words came out a few seconds later.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: What the fuck?
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: I mumbled as I leaned against the door, and I'll
- 1:20:18believe in what I was seeing.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: What the fuck?
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: She mumbled back at me, that damn voice coming out
- 1:20:25after her mouth had closed. Leave me alone, Get the
- 1:20:27fuck away from me, I screamed at her, and I
- 1:20:30mean screamed. I never heard myself this lad before accumulation
- 1:20:34of all fear and anger. I suppose she took a
- 1:20:36violent step towards me, and her face got so close
- 1:20:39to mine. I think her nose touched me. She opened
- 1:20:42her mouth wide as if she were screaming, but it
- 1:20:45was silent, And then seconds after she closed her mouth,
- 1:20:49scream came out of her throat. It was unearthly and
- 1:20:54so piercing that I was completely shell shocked and able
- 1:20:57to do so much as moved. I was frozen still
- 1:20:59and spot and she, without moving her face from mine,
- 1:21:02she raised her right arm and pointed at the cornfield.
- 1:21:06Her eyes were so wide that they didn't look human anymore.
- 1:21:09She just stood like that for good thirty seconds or
- 1:21:13eternity in my time, not blinking. I couldn't take it anymore.
- 1:21:17I just couldn't. I gathered all of bravery I've ever had,
- 1:21:21and I've pushed her.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: Look at the camera and do the scream, but don't
- 1:21:24make the sound. An editor edit the thing, and so
- 1:21:28point is if so, don't scream, but do your mouth
- 1:21:31as if you are screaming, and then editor will put
- 1:21:33the scream in.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: Once you close your mouth and emanating from your throat.
- 1:21:36You have to be at pointing like you're at a cornfield.
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: I have to point like I'm in a corn field,
- 1:21:40like you're pointing out the cornfielding Oh is that good?
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: Did you like that.
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: Look?
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: Your mouth curled on?
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: That was so funny for some scream now together at
- 1:21:53the same time.
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: Get ready, what it looks like you're holding in a burp?
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: No long false.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: Unlike invincible creatures in today's books and movies, she fell
- 1:22:11as any normal as human would. She fell on her back,
- 1:22:13but as soon as she hit the ground, she got
- 1:22:16up unnaturally fast. I mean, no human I've ever seen
- 1:22:19got up with such speed. At that moment, I was
- 1:22:22certain that this was the end of me. But as
- 1:22:24soon as she stood back up, she turned around and
- 1:22:27ran towards the field. I don't want to stop her.
- 1:22:30I'm not sure I even could. I stood there for
- 1:22:32some time, trying to figure out what reality I lived in,
- 1:22:36and then finally gathered myself enough to climb back to
- 1:22:39the control room. Security guard showed up and get thirty
- 1:22:42five minutes later, giving me some bullshit excuse for taking
- 1:22:45so long. Politicians. Plane landed late as well, and I
- 1:22:48chose not to tell anyone about the encounter, as I
- 1:22:50was running the risk of sounding and saying at that point,
- 1:22:53I didn't know what to do, but I didn't know
- 1:22:55that she wasn't going to leave me alone. I spent
- 1:22:58the next six nights of the airport glued to myoculars,
- 1:23:00scouting the ground for any movement. I talked the guard
- 1:23:04into doing a walk through of the strip every couple hours,
- 1:23:07just on the off chance that she'd be caught. Naturally,
- 1:23:10I didn't tell him what we look for because I
- 1:23:13didn't want to sound crazy when he found nothing. It
- 1:23:15was not seven since he encounter, and I was spending
- 1:23:19my hours staring down the binoculars. Saw the guard walk
- 1:23:22around eight forty five pm. He saw me in the tower,
- 1:23:25so he laughed and waved, giving me thumbs up. This
- 1:23:28wasn't going to work. She wasn't about to get caught.
- 1:23:31I showed up for the next day shift. Everyone was
- 1:23:33skickling in the break room.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: What's going on here?
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: I asked? Want to join on the fun? Oh you know, Jerry,
- 1:23:40the guard said. Burston was laughter with the others.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: I really don't. What's the joke.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Well, I'm just telling the guys about your boring night.
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: He said, chuckling and air quoting the word boring.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: What do you mean? Come on, man, it's only GUIDs
- 1:23:54in here. It's all right.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: No, I really don't know what you mean. Well, I
- 1:24:00didn't see you guys last night, so I was just
- 1:24:02telling the boys, how good you have it up there
- 1:24:04in the control room. What do you mean you guys,
- 1:24:06what'd you see? Come on now, man, I saw you
- 1:24:09and your lady friend up there last night when I
- 1:24:11did the walkthrough.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Remember me waving at you.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: Brother, dude, i'd be like, all right, moving out of Iowa,
- 1:24:22changing my name, going to the other side of the country.
- 1:24:27Absolutely not. It's like, man, I can't find her. She's
- 1:24:30just floating behind you the whole time. Yeah.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Also, this guy seeing he sees.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: An ethereal being like floating behind him, He's just like, oh, by.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: Getting it. Yeah, fuck you, Jerry loser. Like reversing a VHS,
- 1:24:49memories from last night started pouring through my mind. Nothing happened, though,
- 1:24:54nothing that I could remember. I was looking at the
- 1:24:57airfield the whole night. Jerry even saw me and wait
- 1:25:00saved and nothing was out of the ordinary. End his wave,
- 1:25:04his laugh, thumbs up.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw your lady friend standing behind you when
- 1:25:09I waved.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I didn't know it was a secret.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: I don't know how my legs worked, but I used
- 1:25:14them to run out of the break room, scorted by
- 1:25:16laughter from my co workers. That funny visual.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: That description is pretty funny because it reads like this.
- 1:25:22He's like, I don't know how my legs work, but
- 1:25:24it's just like.
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: It's funny for everyone else because he walks in. Jerry's
- 1:25:34been telling about like I had this scroll up here.
- 1:25:35He's like, oh, we saw your lady friend.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: And he's just like, like, we saw your lady friend.
- 1:25:40She was up there looking your bowl.
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: Okay, alright, we don't need to counch. We don't need
- 1:25:46to get all the graphics or anything. I know.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: I think we can all assume.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, Yeah, Amelia earhart N.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: She was not lady just went to her. Oh my gosh. Okay.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: First thought that they snipped, look at you buttthole?
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: First first thought.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: There's something funny about I'm somebody's just saying buttole, isn't
- 1:26:15it how often you actually your butthole?
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: I feel like when you're a kid, you were like
- 1:26:19you used to always say like you're a butthole.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I haven't.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: We can be eight if you want to act like
- 1:26:26we're years older. Okay. Also, Jerry rules By the way,
- 1:26:31Jerry's pretty cool minutes lately than being thirty five minutes
- 1:26:34late when he's like I need you here right now.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: He's probably thirty five minutes late because he's like, oh yeah,
- 1:26:37I wantn't want to go up there and watch you
- 1:26:39get your ass eating your lady For.
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: Saying Jerry worked at the World Trade Center. You think
- 1:26:45they're like, hey, we see we need to come check
- 1:26:46something out. He's like yeah, and he like turns the corner.
- 1:26:49He's like, oh my.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Gosh, he's a ghost up there to eating another guy's
- 1:26:52I asked, is that a good dream impression?
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: First thought, at least I wasn't going insane someone else
- 1:27:05saw her, you know. Second thought, what in the god's
- 1:27:10name she was behind me for how long? And how
- 1:27:13the hell didn't I hear her? Honestly, I had no
- 1:27:16idea what to do at that point. The only hope
- 1:27:18for my well being was that she'd get caught by
- 1:27:21someone other than me. Otherwise everything I said to anyone
- 1:27:24would make me sound insane.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: I didn't hear no wonder.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: It sounds like somebody eating a bullet chili bind me.
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: Oh my god, oh my god, it sound.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: Like you eat a bullet pedigree.
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: There was a scary one. Fine, that's all that was happening.
- 1:27:57That soupped.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know one is quit that job at Iowa.
- 1:28:13I wouldn't either.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: This chair is comfortable, yeah, Miller.
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: My.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Yeah, who would have thought that?
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Who would have thought these Who would have thought these
- 1:28:25gaming cheers were.
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: This comfy of a Herman Miller doesn't do that?
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's cool as we got those Herman Miller's that
- 1:28:34clean your bottom h.
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: Control doll?
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: Oh I wish?
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: Okay. The only hope for my well being was that
- 1:28:45she get caught by someone other than me. Otherwise everything
- 1:28:48I said to anyone would make me sound insane. Two
- 1:28:51weeks had passed by with no further sight. Two. I
- 1:29:00hate how much poison this story for me now because
- 1:29:03imagine him like leaned over on his elbows with his
- 1:29:06binoculars looking out the window and behind him. Okay, quick.
- 1:29:17Two weeks had passed by with no further side of her.
- 1:29:21Then sometime in early June, mind you, I was still
- 1:29:24scanning the airstrip every night. I okay, I saw her
- 1:29:36at the edge of the field. She just stood there.
- 1:29:39I must have watched her for two hours, and she
- 1:29:41didn't move a finger.
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: She she didn't move a finger, and she was knuckled
- 1:29:51do I hate you know what, that's the worst thing
- 1:29:54about it.
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: I hate these jokes. They're so gross, but you're funny.
- 1:29:59That makes.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: It writes itself. Dude, the fucking she.
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: Didn't move a finger from I must have watched her
- 1:30:06for two hours, and she didn't move a finger. She
- 1:30:08just stood looking straight at me one hundred yards away
- 1:30:12in the control tower. After the initial shock, and again
- 1:30:16every time I saw her was a shock to me.
- 1:30:19I did the only logical thing and picked up the radio.
- 1:30:22I called Jerry and asked him to do a walk through.
- 1:30:24As soon as the door of the airport barn opened,
- 1:30:26she slowly walked back into the cornfield, never taking her
- 1:30:30eyes off me. By the time Jerry walked by where
- 1:30:33she stood, she was long gone. This happened every night
- 1:30:36for the next eight days. She'd stand at the edge
- 1:30:39of the field, staring at me and not blinking, and
- 1:30:41every time Jerry would come out, she'd slowly disappear into
- 1:30:45the field. One night, I called Jerry up in the
- 1:30:48control room for a simple whiskey, hoping she'd come out
- 1:30:50and I'd show her to him. It's always so convenient
- 1:30:53in movies, though, isn't it The entity whose existence she's
- 1:30:57trying to prove never appears before witnesses. Right, Well, Jerry
- 1:31:01came up and we shared a nice bottle of Jack
- 1:31:03Daniels over some small talk. I was discreetly keeping on
- 1:31:06the cornfield at the same time she always appeared. I
- 1:31:09noticed movement in the field, and there she was. Came
- 1:31:12out of the field and froze in the same spot
- 1:31:13she always says. Had to be careful. I'm so excited, man,
- 1:31:17I was overrun with emotion. She was finally about to
- 1:31:20get caught. But I had to contained myself so I
- 1:31:23could look somewhat same while telling Jerry what was happening.
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: Hey, Jerry, do you do you see what I see?
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Asa? As I handed him the binoculars done by the cornfield,
- 1:31:33him staring down the strip for the longest five seconds
- 1:31:36of my life.
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: What in the world was that girl doing there?
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: Oh? Man? The sense of relief?
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: All right, I had something to tell.
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: You, I spoke calmly. It took about five minutes to
- 1:31:48give him a gist of what was happening. All the stalking,
- 1:31:50control room destruction incident, on camera.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: Jesus man, why didn't you tell me something earlier? Would
- 1:31:56you believe me if I did?
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: He just shook his head. All right, Jerry said, as
- 1:32:00he stood up.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: You call the police and I'm gonna go down there
- 1:32:02and speak to her. I'll hold her until they come.
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: All right, Jerry, you do that, buddy?
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: Yeah, good luck, Bud.
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: I was strongest soldier marching off to scripped to shreds
- 1:32:14at the end of the run.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: All right, I'll take care of it.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: I wanted to tell him to be careful. I wanted
- 1:32:20to even stop him, but more than anything, really, I
- 1:32:22wanted it all the end. I dialed N one one
- 1:32:25while I watched Jerry walk down the strip toward this
- 1:32:28this thing by the field. She wasn't moving, matter of fact,
- 1:32:32she was still looking straight at me.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: She whispers in his ear, and he does dead sprints
- 1:32:37to a plane.
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: Jerry, No, what do you think she whispered to the
- 1:32:45first guy that made him run par the Didn't she
- 1:32:48say come to the field?
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: Whatever was something like that?
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: Maybe? Yeah, I don't know. If you saw a woman
- 1:32:53outside and she said come to the field, that wouldn't
- 1:32:54be immediate reason to take off in your airplane. You
- 1:32:57know this is true. They'd have to whisper like something
- 1:33:01about me no one else knew, or like a dead
- 1:33:04relative's name or something like that.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: For what they like, this is what would I have
- 1:33:07to say for you to get in a plane and
- 1:33:08fly off.
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: It'd have to be like like if I had a
- 1:33:12family member that recently died, they said, like they're waiting
- 1:33:14for me or whatever, like and this random person just
- 1:33:17knows about that or something that would that. I'd be like,
- 1:33:19all right, I'm out, I'm leaving. Because if some if
- 1:33:22I saw a woman, like realistically, outside of the story,
- 1:33:25if a crazy woman came up, it was like, come
- 1:33:27to the cornfield, I'd be like, what is this crack
- 1:33:30addict doing on the runway. It's like, no, I'm not
- 1:33:34gonna do that. Stopped to get away from me. It
- 1:33:39was late in Atlantic, at such a small, uneventful town.
- 1:33:41The cop said, it take a good fifteen minutes to
- 1:33:44come to the airport. Binoculars pointed at her. As Jerry approached.
- 1:33:48I saw that he started to talk to her. She
- 1:33:50was still looking straight in my eyes all the way
- 1:33:53from there. Then, without taking her eyes off of me,
- 1:33:57she leaned towards his ear and whispered something. I don't
- 1:34:02know what, I'm not a lip reader, took a step
- 1:34:05back than another one, turned around and looked at me.
- 1:34:11I've never seen such a terrified look on another human.
- 1:34:15This man was beyond himself, face so petrified than even
- 1:34:21resembled that Jerry. I knew. He ran into the field.
- 1:34:26Bro Jesus is all I could say. And she was
- 1:34:31still looking at me, only she had this what do
- 1:34:33you call it? Misbehaving smile on her face. I had it.
- 1:34:37That pilot and Jerry both ran away from her after
- 1:34:40she whispered something to them. And why was I still here?
- 1:34:43What was happening to me?
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: I had it.
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: I ran down the stairs and out of the tower.
- 1:34:48She was standing in her spot. As I ran to her,
- 1:34:52I could see she still had that smile on her
- 1:34:54pale face. No more talking, so wasn't a movie. I
- 1:34:57wasn't about to let her run again. I tackled her.
- 1:35:01It sounds funny, I know, but I ran into that
- 1:35:03bitch and I hit her hard. We both hit the pavement.
- 1:35:06As soon as I got on top of her, I
- 1:35:08noticed she still had the smile, even though there was
- 1:35:11a big cut on her forehead. She wasn't talking, she
- 1:35:14wasn't resisting, She was just laying there, smiling at me
- 1:35:18and bleeding. I heard the car pull up by the strip,
- 1:35:20and you can imagine how thankful I was when I
- 1:35:22saw it was the police over here here, I screamed
- 1:35:25as I held her down, though she wasn't really trying
- 1:35:27to escape, so the cops ran towardoise. I looked at
- 1:35:30her one last time. Why why, I asked, so frustrated,
- 1:35:35so angry. She just smiled even wider, See you.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: Later, alligator. She was what kind of cringe?
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: Oh the lines kind of cringe. Well it may have
- 1:35:50some grace hold on, she whispered. Second before a police
- 1:35:54officer pulled me off her. Her words came out with
- 1:35:56the lay again. That wasn't the last shock of the night.
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: Out Officer, this man, this man was trying to kill me.
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: Girl cried as the officer helped her up. He tried
- 1:36:05to murder me. I was speechless. This woman, I thought
- 1:36:09she was what a demon was now acting human. I
- 1:36:14was sure she was finally caught, but as the cop
- 1:36:16turned to me, I realized I was alone on the strip,
- 1:36:19nearly choking a defenseless woman. Jerry was nowhere to be found.
- 1:36:24Take me, said, as the officer stepped towards me. The
- 1:36:27sense of helplessness was the most overwhelming feeling I've ever experienced.
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: But please don't let her get away.
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: Spent the night in jail, certain that I was going
- 1:36:36to be found guilty for everything. It's the only witness
- 1:36:38long gone to who knows where. When my buddies from
- 1:36:41the airport came to bail me out in the morning,
- 1:36:43I was so tired I didn't feel like explaining anything.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: I just told him that if Jerry were here, he'd
- 1:36:50tell you what. Jerry's at the airport right now.
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: That was in disbelief, but I didn't want to waste
- 1:36:57a second. Twenty minutes later, I was standing in front
- 1:36:59of Jerry. Man, why don't you tell me, one, I asked,
- 1:37:03nearly crying from all emotions.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: Tell what.
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: Jerry answered, just laughed and looked around the break room
- 1:37:09that was now full of coworkers.
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: Gerry, I went to jail because of her. Man, you
- 1:37:13gotta tell him. Look, man, why don't you get some
- 1:37:16rest and we could talk about this later, all.
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: Right, Jerry said in a condescending voice. Patting my shoulder.
- 1:37:22I lost it. I just started crying. I was the
- 1:37:24most helpless man in the world. There was nobody that
- 1:37:26could help me, and this hurt more than not understanding
- 1:37:29why Jerry chose to act as if nothing happened. Last night,
- 1:37:32I walked out of that airport, never to come back.
- 1:37:35Three days later, I received a letter in the mail
- 1:37:37giving me a formal you have been terminated notice, followed
- 1:37:40by a call from a police department saying that no
- 1:37:42charges will be filed. As a woman there's nowhere to
- 1:37:45be found. I moved to New York to live with
- 1:37:48your aunt. After that, I never did see that woman again,
- 1:37:51And to be honest, to this day, I'm not sure
- 1:37:54what I dealt with. If I'd put my hand on
- 1:37:56the Bible, I'd say it wasn't a human who stalked
- 1:37:58me those nights in Iowa. There's a little bit more
- 1:38:01of the story. So the alligator line, I was gonna say,
- 1:38:03could have some grace because that also sounds like something
- 1:38:06like someone would tell a kid or a thing like that.
- 1:38:08So without what I talked about with the skin walker,
- 1:38:10how it would have to be something from my past,
- 1:38:13I was thinking, maybe see you later alligator with something
- 1:38:15from his past, maybe something his mom used to say
- 1:38:18to it or something like that, and I could explain it.
- 1:38:19But yamn't got an explanation for that. But that's why
- 1:38:23that was fine to me, because that's what I thought of.
- 1:38:24It's probably something from his history. Right at that point,
- 1:38:28my aunt walked into the room.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Is he talking about that woman in the Atlantic again?
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: She said, trying to look irritated.
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: I was just telling the boy about what happened to
- 1:38:36me worth knowing what's out there? Oh stopping, Alex.
- 1:38:40Speaker 9: Poor guys doesn't need to listen to your rambling, rambling, rambling, bitch,
- 1:38:45You did say that rambling rambling?
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: How about that?
- 1:38:48Speaker 7: Since I left, that damn airport has had forty one
- 1:38:50air traffic controllers.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Quid? How about that?
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: Well, I think it's time to go. We overstayed it
- 1:38:54as it.
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: Is, my aunt said, trying to get out of the
- 1:38:57awkward situation.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Well, walk you out.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: We'll walk you out.
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: When we got outside the house, my uncle sat in
- 1:39:02the car. But I had to ask my aunt was
- 1:39:04that all it started?
- 1:39:06Speaker 9: But she interrupted, oh goodness, no, we don't like to
- 1:39:09talk about it. But Yolka started his depression medication around
- 1:39:12that time, and it affect him in a strange way.
- 1:39:15It was back when medications weren't well researched. That's why
- 1:39:18he was let go and unable to work at airports again.
- 1:39:20And the woman, uh yes there was a girl there.
- 1:39:25Look at the cops got him off before he did
- 1:39:26any damage. But he's been under control ever since, no incidents.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: Knock on wood.
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: As she opened the car door, I whispered, one last.
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: Thing, and all those controls you quit?
- 1:39:37Speaker 4: Is that true? My aunt smile went from genuine ones
- 1:39:41one that was very obviously forced.
- 1:39:43Speaker 9: We better get on the road before the night falls. Honey,
- 1:39:46call hers sometime. You got her number, you know, see
- 1:39:51you later, alligator.
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: Hm. So is the implication there then that she became
- 1:39:57his wife, like ed his wife and then became I
- 1:40:03think that's what it's assuming. Yeah, but I don't know.
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: We're in an unreliable narrator situation.
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: Now, yeah, well he could have said the skinwalker no.
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: Well yes, yes, but also the because all the stuff.
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: That discredits his story came from her.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: At the well, thank you about being I mean, we're
- 1:40:20also hearing from him though, being like, well, I don't
- 1:40:22know why he didn't say.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: I don't know why he didn't.
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: It could also be that he was on the medication,
- 1:40:30started to see things lose his mind got fired. Uh,
- 1:40:33and then maybe his wife says see you later, alligator.
- 1:40:36So he imprinted that on the story. But if you
- 1:40:38view everything literally, his wife was killed by the skin
- 1:40:42walker at some point and replaced right, probably similar to
- 1:40:46what happened.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: That's a that's a creative reach. There's nothing to assume
- 1:40:50that the skin walker killed his wife.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: See she said see you later, alligator, implying I'll see
- 1:40:56you later. And now the wife's saying it, So no, I.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: Understand, but I'm just saying and that like there's I mean,
- 1:41:02I guess we assume that the creature found him in
- 1:41:04New York and killed the wife because that's where the
- 1:41:06ant was at.
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: I think it's implying it followed him and like at
- 1:41:10some point replaced her something like that, niccause I think
- 1:41:12that's the same thing that happened with Jerry, because Jerry
- 1:41:14gets freaked out, runs into the cornfield, and then the
- 1:41:16next day Jerry's they're like, yeah, you think the skin
- 1:41:20walker was probably just the It's it's like one or
- 1:41:23several replacing people like that. Yeah.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: Well, there's one thing to take away from all of this.
- 1:41:27It's fuck cancer.
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, this was This is a very fun story.
- 1:41:31It's very telling the story. It's a shame that the
- 1:41:32author was taken too soon, but I am glad that
- 1:41:36stories like this from them we can still read, we
- 1:41:38can enjoy, we can talk about because this was a
- 1:41:40legitimately creepy story with her staring and running to the
- 1:41:43tower and stuff. All that was great. This was very
- 1:41:46well done, and it's a tragedy that he's taken too soon,
- 1:41:50but I'm glad we still get to enjoy what he wrote.
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: Fuck cancer. Fuck cancer, And guys, thank.
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: You so much.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: If you've been listening on audio platforms like Apple Podcasts

- 1:42:05Speaker 3: We do, I appreciate you. Once again.
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: I just want to say, fuck cancer. That's my final thought.
- 1:42:10I also don't like cancer. For the record, I just
- 1:42:14want to come out that I'm staunchly anti cancer.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: Hey tell the next time, guys, we will see you
- 1:42:19in the next one. Stay creeped, goodbye.
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: Stay creeped. And again cancer I don't like it, just
- 1:42:26as we all.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: Know fucked cancer, fuck cancer.
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: And I also feel similarly
