Herbie: Man, just, you know, adulting and enjoying my time off before I have to go back. I was Shamus: I was gonna say, what'd you do today, man? Herbie: out on the lake again, kayaking, ran into a heron, some totals, and Canadian geese. Just hung out there for a little while. It was just nice and relaxing, man, because I like it was a nice breeze and wasn't too too much sun. But every time I got close to the animals, they all flew away. No beavers. I did see the beaver runs. So I was surprised about that. I guess it was it was just so it was a a quiet, peaceful non-territory, you know, aggression or chattel that had to occur on the on the lake. So Shamus: What exactly is a herring's like a flamingo, but it's just white, right? It's got them big tall legs Yeah, I can't remember last time I seen one. Herbie: Yeah, they're beautiful. We got like one or two at the lake. Like a ton of, you know, turtles and Canadian geese. Shamus: You didn't take the big boat out, you took the canoe out. Herbie: well, 'cause like especially now 'cause like the the lake, the water level's really low still, so it's like you're better off with a kayak 'cause you don't have to there's not much weight. You can just glide right over the water even in shallow. That was cool though, man. It was nice. Shamus: Okay. I spent today working on the set. We're gonna give everybody an update. it's like the hard stuff's pretty much done. Yeah. I got some other material in today. I got some epoxy in. didn't realize that stuff takes 72 hours to cure. So we're gonna do that tomorrow and hopefully by Sunday it's all ready to go. We can wheel in the rest of it and start doing some dry runs. So we're gonna miss the mark on the August one thing. So but I mean, we're in the ballpark. Herbie: Yeah, it's looking good though, man. Shamus: it's gonna be Yeah. It's gonna be ridiculous, bro. Yeah, people are just gonna Herbie: Gonna be Shamus: be like, what the f fuck are they doing, bro? Herbie: When you said when you first said start doing this, man, I was like, all right. And then I I knew you go you go in and then you were talking about what you're gonna do. I like, yeah, this guy's this guy's definitely going in. Shamus: yeah, I mean if if you're gonna do if you're gonna go, go all out. You know what mean? So we need to show these boys. I've always been a big fan of KISS and Gene Simmons always said, you know, why just get up there in the street clothes and play? Like, you know, bigger, better, yeah, louder. Yeah. So and like I said, people are gonna be like, look at these dudes. Yeah. Herbie: So go into video. Shamus: speaking of podcast, I listened to the exciting and new podcast. They had an episode on what they're watching this week. I think they're they were doing Blue Velvet. Yeah. That just dropped today. I've never seen that many Herbie: It's crazy movie, man. Shamus: Not surprised you've seen it. You've seen everything. But Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: during their what they were watching thing, the one guy mentioned their guest, Chris Mac or whatever his name was. And I apologize for not remembering because I'm horrible with names. he mentioned, did you know there was a sequel for the first movie you ever rented? Herbie: Yes. yeah. They got like three of Shamus: That is that the way that guy described that movie, I was I was like, You gotta be kidding me. Because first of all he said, you know, if you've seen the original basket case, yeah, you know, it's it's just like a head with arms in a basket and it's trying to kill people 'cause Herbie: Plato. Shamus: Yeah, it's upset that it was separated from its Siamese twin or something like that. But but apparently and spoil alert if you haven't seen, I guess they throw him out of a window and he's supposed to be dead. But I guess in the sequel he's not dead. Yeah, but life Yeah, and somebody takes him and he falls in love. There's like a sex scene in part two or so. Herbie: Yeah, there's a sex scene the first Shamus: my I didn't Herbie: yeah. Well I'll get some man. I'm like Well 'cause you know with like any type of B movie, there's gotta be some titties in the sex scene to keep like, you know, to carry the movie along, man. Shamus: Okay, so well on this episode we're gonna talk about B movies. Okay. Obviously. So what is the definition of a B movie? Herbie: Low budget, low expectations, not really well known actors. maybe a decent story, but like kinda like a type of B movie or a B movie by definition would be like something that you're not a movie that you're not gonna take seriously. So you're not gonna be like, well that that that story doesn't make any sense or you know, Plot holes. You're not really gonna critique it as according to like, you know, the plot holes and the storyline and everything. It's just you're just sitting there having fun with like your friends. It's kinda like, you know, when we were kids, like, you know, you you watch a real shitty movie with your friends, but you enjoy it. And it gets a cult following just by definition of just people watching it all the time. And like, you know, that movie could have most likely bombed in the theaters back in the day. But survived in VHS sales 'cause people kept running it and it just kind of got like a Shamus: We're Herbie: you know, passed on by, you know, everyone's saying that's a good you know, you gotta check this movie out and it's a crappy movie, but you gotta watch it. Shamus: right, so I got the definition here off of chat G P T A B movie is a traditionally a low budget, quickly made film that was intended to be shown as a second feature and a double feature at movie theaters. Today the term has evolved and generally refers to movies with some or all of these characteristics. Low budget, unknown or lesser known actors, simple plots, genre films. Especially horror, science, fiction, action, westerns, or crime, which is basically the whole gamut of films. Yeah. And limited as special effects or intentionally can't be effects, and a willingness to create take creative risk because there isn't as much money at stake. yeah. Most of these become cult classics. yeah. So I don't know, man. I guess I can't my dad you and my dad would have got along. Great man because he watched All that campy yeah. Anything on sci fi. yeah. Like it was just Yeah. So name some let's go let's go through some of the the well known like B movies that have become cold classics. Okay. Like the first one I think of is Sharknado. Herbie: yeah, yeah. And that's like rent right from sci-fi channel. Shamus: Well Sharknado, let's go I guess we could break each one down a little bit. I was shocked. I was driving to work like the day after that came out and I listened to Sports Talk Radio Philadelphia. that's back when it was good. I can't listen to shit now. It's horrible. and they had what's it, Ian Zierling, the guy from nine two one who's in Sharknado? Yeah. And I'm like, why I was like, yeah, why the hell are they talking? Every once in a while they would bring a celebrity in, but I'm like, why are they talking to this dude? And apparently He didn't know why he was on either because when he went to bed when the movie premiered, he woke up. He's at like five in the morning. His phone was just blowing up, like all these interview requests And he said the movie just took off. And he was just like, I can't believe this movie is he's like, it was shit. He was like, I knew we were filming it with shit. So yeah, it it's kind of amazing how like movies like that just kind of t and then they of course they spawn like what's that like Sharknado eight now or something like that. Herbie: So and it's a lot of like, you know, old actors that were actually kind of A-list character actors that kind of fell out of the industry and it's almost like they're they're they're trying to get back in here to not only the spoof but maybe try to research their their careers. Shamus: Yeah, they either do a B movie or they end up doing like well, not T V anymore 'cause TV's huge, but like back in our day when we were kids, they would end up on like a TV show or something like you like Robert Downey Jr. was on Alley McBeal for a while. yeah. Trying to resurrect his career and all that stuff. So you mentioned what was it, Killer Clowns from Outer Space? yeah. my God, that is such a bad move. But I like the Cole following too, it's ridiculous. Herbie: And it's it's like the those like some of those movies are like completely rewatchable. Like there's some where you just watch it like that's a shitty movie and you watch it, you laugh about it, and that you're one and done. But that one is definitely like it's a it's a rewatch. And Shamus: I don't know if I can sit through that again. Herbie: definitely it's just like there's so many movies out. Shamus: Wrapping people up in can candy and then sticking straws in it and drinking I was like, You got Herbie: I mean it's such a great concept. If they even if they kind of redid it now with the special effects and everything, it would just be like terrifying, really, 'cause like these things are like those clowns in the in in that movie, the the the the costumes, they were they were great. They were just creepy looking. Especially for people that are so creeped out by clowns as it is, it's just Shamus: yeah, that's a whole phobia in itself. People get weirded out by clowns. Herbie: These things are creepy. Shamus: I just I didn't understand the whole premise of if you pop their nose, they die. yeah. So I was just like, so if you have a nine millimeter and about five thousand bullets and a good shot, those guys are no threat at all. Like that movie, it's not a B movie, but what was that movie? Science with Mel Gibson? When the aliens come to Yeah. Like, who in charge of that invasion? Herbie: I don't know. So like let's attack a planet that has nothing but water on it and Shamus: Yeah, we're we're water will beat us back, so we're gonna attack a planet that's seventy five percent water. Yeah. Yeah. Herbie: What are they Shamus: Like to kill a clown sting, I was just like, All you gotta do is break their nose on. Herbie: Well they came here for food. 'Cause actually, you what it reminds me of Peter Jackson's first movie was another B movie that I love. It's called Bad Taste, and it's a very similar concept. These aliens come down to a a town and they're looking for they're they're using people as food. But the funny thing is like these aliens are actually like part of a a company, a conglomerate company that goes around and trying to like for, you know, extraterrestrial fast food. So it's basically like an alien food company that comes to Earth and looking for a new ingredient and humans on the menu and it was Peter Jackson's first movie. And I I love it. It's best that's definitely a watch. Shamus: And another one w a huge coal file. And it even had a cartoon, it was Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. yeah. And I just thought to myself, I'm like, all you gotta do is get a bunch of Italians from a pizza shop down here and take care of this shit in a minute. Herbie: Pizza like a free pizza and free free sauce. Shamus: Hell yeah. But I like dude, that I I even like the song was hysterical too. Yeah. I Herbie: Tackle the colour tomatoes. Shamus: mean, that is stuck with me. I've seen that movie one time in my entire life, and that's when it was like on HBO or something, when I lived in Philadelphia before I like before nineteen eighty five or whenever it came out. And what year did that come out? God. Well maybe we just moved to New Jersey. Yeah. But I mean, I still remember that song. Yeah. At 49 years old. Herbie: That movie is like it's kind of painful. Like back then when it first came out, it was painful to try to sit through the whole thing of how ridiculous the movie was. But now, if you power through it, you like 'cause I think for us, like B movies were kind of like still developing. So like you could rent a a a movie and it it would be have an awesome cover. And you're like, shit, we gotta we gotta rent this. And then you watch the movie, you're like This is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen in my life. And they either you like it or love the movie, but you know, they just kinda throw you off with that. But with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes like that big, there was an actual a helicopter accident. There's a scene where they actually get a helicopter. Shamus: Yeah, you were telling me this and and I kind of looked at I reviewed it after you told me and I was like, Yeah, he dumped it, dude. Yeah. He definitely shorted that. Yeah. Herbie: I mean people could and it was just like all in the first takes. Yeah. Shamus: All the actors and they turn around are holy Herbie: Yeah. It was like all their budget was spent on that, man. What you know what? If you really think about maybe they started making that movie and they're like, all right, we're gonna make the aliens or attack of whatever the hell and then they're like we blew all the budget on the helicopter and it got destroyed. They're like, Well we got like seven bucks left. You're like, What what kind of monster are we gonna make? Shamus: Just throw throw a box of tomatoes out there. Herbie: Produce Junction had a big frickin' s you like buy like four pallets of frickin' tomatoes for like three bucks. You know? You never know, like you know. Shamus: I can't believe they made a cartoon out of that. my god. That's that's when you know you're like a cult file. Like you're you're the head of everybody on Pete's movies list. Herbie: Troma Troma does like you know Toxic Avenger and there was a cartoon Shamus: I was gonna say he's a big like he's a big cult following too the toxic They just remade that with Peter Dinklage, right? Yeah. The little guy. How was it? I'm I'm obviously you saw it. Herbie: I I cheated. I went on YouTube, watched the scenes. I was like, I mean the costume's cool, but I'm like, I'm good. dude, you gotta watch the original. Shamus: I don't think I've seen the original. Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen the original Herbie: collector set when I went to Monster Monster Monster Mania. There's four Shamus: Four of Herbie: there's like four and there's like just like a bunch of there's like some spinoff ones and stuff. Like it's great. You just gotta you gotta watch it dude. It's so crappy. Just matter of fact, it was speaking of B movies, I was just watching the other day Surf Surf Nazis Must Die. That was another Truma movie. And they also did the like class of Newcombe High. There's like four of them and they're just They're shitty movies. But the cool thing about it is a lot of actors back in the day. Yeah. Shamus: Let's try to get their start. Herbie: I mean, Brad Pitt even his one of his first starts was was it a a B movie horror movie. And also Billy Bob Thornton. It was in Chopper Chicks from Zombie Town, dude. And it's it's it's it's another Troma movie. yeah. Shamus: I just want to see the movie poster for that. Herbie: You don't really see him in it too much, like, you know, on the on the cover and stuff, because he's like he's like the he's the yeah. Shamus: No, I just want to see the title of it. That is that and what's the other one with Piper, you said Frogtown or something? Herbie: The hell comes the frog town. Yeah. People people are listening, like either I hopefully you watch these movies, or if not, add these to your list. And there's also another one I love called A Rock and Roll Nightmare by John Michael Thorne. Shamus: yeah, you just showed me some clips of that, dude. I I can't I just know I didn't I thought Herbie: you got you got Shamus: that movie trick or treat with Gene Simmons and the guy who comes back from hell or something to rock star and comes back to kill him. I thought that was bad, so I just thought the rock and roll nightmare sh Herbie: And you know the best thing about those, like they're so hard to find that's almost like for movie collectors and stuff, those types of movies you want in your collection. You know what I mean? Why? Because it's it's a it's a rare it's a rare item. You know, especially people that love movies, if they especially if they love B movies, they're gonna want that in their collection. Shamus: I mean, there's a couple B movies I can get with. and I'm gonna give you my top five at the end. But like The Evil Dead. yeah. That isn't probably the number one I I don't know, the Toxic Vengers up there and Attack Killer and Killer Clowns. But I would have to say the Evil Dead's probably if not one one A or one B. Yeah, definitely. great movie. Love Bruce Campbell. Yeah. like you just said earlier, he's he's got cancer now. I hope he pulls through. Yeah. 'Cause he's a treasure that must be protected. Yeah. That guy's amazing. Yeah. But yeah, and then when I was a kid I'd loved Mega Force. Herbie: yeah, but Mega Force is great, dude. It's so cheesy, man. They even had a video game of it. Shamus: I know, I had the I had the the Atari game. Yeah. But one of those another one of those movies that slightly started to push me towards, you know, military stuff and being a cop and all that stuff. I was like, man, I could do that shit. I could throw a saw blade at somebody. Right out. Herbie: Even those motorcycles man, they had missiles on them and shit. Yeah. Shamus: Hell yeah. Herbie: Like those dune buggies. I'm like the motorcycles even flew, man. It was freaking great. Shamus: But then when I got to the desert there was none of that shit and I was like, this is something. Herbie: Yeah, how we didn't have that tech when you guys when you guys were over there. Shamus: I didn't mention it was this hotter this movie. Herbie: Where's the Mega Force squad? W we need fire support. Call them the Apaches. No, better yet, call the Mega Force. Shamus: They're like, Nah, we're we're on vacation. We ain't coming up in there. So Herbie: yeah. Matter of fact, what Hugh Grant, the big you know, English actor, he also did another B movie that I like. It's called Layer of the White Worm. It's it's a shitty horror B movie. Shamus: Just sound I'll tell you what, you can usually tell by the title. yeah. Like you said, How Comes a Frogtown or Zombie Chicks from Chop. I know I'm gonna laugh at those movies. That white worm shit, I'm just gonna be like, man, this is R my I would probably give through ten minutes of that. But the other two I'd watch just because it's Billy Bob Thornton, it's got a great title. And Piper and it's got a great title. Herbie: Well like you know like you said back in the day when we used like, you know, you go to the video store, you know, you look around and you're like, man, we're like we're on a mission for like B movies. You look at the covers, you look at the back and you're like off. You we gotta get it. Like what actually got me to get bad taste with Peter Jackson's first movie is actually it's an alien giving you the middle finger. It's like, how much more beam and then like the costume is just like I mean, even like in if you if you ever watched the movie, he actually made the costumes and baked it in his mom's oven. So like, you know, just like you get the latex and all that stuff. I got you. Yeah, so it's just like, my God. It's like how Shamus: It's dedication. Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. It took him like a while to make. It was like him and his buddies used to shoot on the weekends. It was supposed to be like a short film and then it's just expanded. And then, you know, there he is making Lord of the Rings and stuff. Shamus: Speaking of Piper, isn't they live? Is that considered a B movie? Herbie: I'm gonna you what I would kinda say yeah. That would definitely have a cult classic because that one that one I would say B movie as far as it didn't do well in the box office where you know and and John Carpenter did the movie, so it's not like so yeah, Shamus: It's an awesome movie. Herbie: so it's not gonna be like, you know, something where you're gonna like, this is gonna be a shitty movie. yeah, Shamus: One the greatest fight scenes of all time. Herbie: it's the longest one. You know what I mean? So like that one was just like B movie just because it bombed at the box office, but When it came to video, that's how it got the cold following. Shamus: Well that and anytime you're spoofed by South Park. yeah. Like the fight scene from Day Live is the exact same frame for frame fight, the cripple fight. Yeah. And I forget what season, what episode, but when Timmy and the other cripple kids start fighting, it's frame for frame. The same goddamn fight. It's hysterical. Herbie: Dirty motherfucker Yeah, that's that's what I love about B movies, man, because like you really don't take them seriously. Especially like when you sit there, it's almost like you know how like couples now they'll like they'll binge watch a show and they have like their own little like you know, all right, we're gonna watch, we're gonna, you know, go watch our shows tonight and they have like their little like ceremony or what the hell they're gonna do is you know, they get their food together, get their drinks and all that stuff, and they just make it make an event out of it. You know, that's just like the what we used to do back in the day with like Shamus: Yeah, but I just never did it with B movies though. Like I always look for Don't get me wrong, there were some movies I did rent that I didn't realize like I said, The Evil Dead. Yeah. Mega Force. I didn't realise that was a B movie. You know, you're a kid when you're watching that. I Herbie: That was on HBO for me when I saw it. Shamus: kinda knew like looking at Attack of the like my sister always read my sister, my dad always got the horror movies. Attack of the Killer Clowns and All that stuff. Like I didn't know what B movies were 'cause I was a kid, but I was just kinda like, This is shit. I'm going to bed. So I didn't Herbie: yeah. Just like the quality. Shamus: realize Foxy Brown because I did some research. I didn't realize Foxy Brown was actually considered a B movie. Herbie: Yeah. She did a lot of lot of black spoilitation. Matter of fact, she like I used to watch a movie when I was a kid called Blackula. It was great. Shamus: I was I was on Plex the other day and I'm not gonna mention any names or anything like that, but like he's got this library of like eight thousand movies. Yeah. And like it like Black Hillow, Blackenstein. the creature from the super black looking it was I was just kinda like, well it's good to see they have their B movies too, you know? Herbie: Those movies. Shamus: And of course Dolomite. yeah. So Herbie: Me, like I like Black Cula I got to see like back in the day when like in the seventies when I was a little kid, like on regular T V. You know, so it was like Black Cula and the Charleston Heston I like what the hell's the one? The Shamus: Charlton Essen has a B movie. Herbie: Yeah, the the the one that's like I Am Legend, it's the the original one. Vincent Price did it called I Am Legend then the Omega Man. Yeah. And then I Am Legend is actually the remake. Shamus: Was a Mega Man that big robot thing? It's Ultraman. Herbie: No no Omega Man Shamus: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Herbie: Matter of fact, little little little fact is the fountain in the movie Omega Man where Charleston Heston dies is actually the same fountain where they filmed the Friends beginning. It's Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: the same set. Shamus: speaking of Bima, that's where she got that's where fat ass Jennifer Anison got her start. Leprechaun. Yeah. Yeah, that big bitch. Herbie: Ha ha ha Shamus: Well, I forgot all about that. Herbie: Yeah, dude, there's so many actors out there that, you know, have been in B movies and stuff and look look where they are now. You know? Bob Shamus: Yeah, I guess. Herbie: Thor dude, Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town. You guys gotta watch it. I'm not not just saying the shamus, I'm talking to the to the listeners all all th all four. Four and a half. Shamus: Mm. He was stallone. He did what was that? Death Race two thousand back in that was an awesome movie though. It Herbie: I I do, I love that movie. Shamus: was him and David Carradine. Yeah. Herbie: I love like the old David Carradine movies. He had a bunch of B movies, man. They were great. Even what was it? Like Yeah. Shamus: yeah. Herbie: Freaking what do you call it? the Death Race movie, the girlfriend of Sylvester Slaw in that movie was actually in the Last American Virgin, the eighties movie. No, she was Carmella, the the Shamus: She was a hooker, right? Herbie: Spanish lady that lived in our apartment and had the boys come over and she took care of all three of them. God bless her. Shamus: Yeah, that's what that's what I meant. Like I didn't realize she wasn't a hooker. Herbie: There wasn't Shamus: Yeah, there was a hooker. You're right. I got it. I got it mixed up. Yeah. So who had there was somebody else in that movie too that was kind of Herbie: The dude from the Goonies, Troy. Shamus: Who's Troy? Herbie: From the Goonies and are you talking about the the last American Death Race? yeah, I was gonna say David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone. Shamus: Let's not waste too much time on it. Thought the remake of that was really good with Jason Statham. The original one with Ian McShane Statham. what the hell's that guy's name? Tyrese? Herbie: doubt why yeah that that one that was the one you told me to watch. I never watched it yet though. Shamus: it's good. Give it a shout. Shout and check it out. Cyborg's another one. yeah. Shaw Claw Van Dam. That's Herbie: like one of my favorite scenes though where he's like straddling over the hallway and he's like, you know, like over the dude and he just chops his head in half. I'm like, yeah There's so many movies out there that are just crappy and I I love a man. Shamus: gonna say some of these movies are in a different class of your own though because when you make a movie about a crappy movie being made, yeah like Dolomite, like I watched that and I was just kinda like, you gotta be kidding me, because Eddie Murphy came out with a movie a couple of years ago. So my name is Dolomite. It's about the guy who made Dolomite. so you had to go back, I had to watch Dolomite before I watched that and I was kinda like, my God. Herbie: Horrible. Even Black Hill is like I love Black Hill. It's a great movie. Shamus: And then, of course, the number one B movie of all time people consider they made that movie, what the hell is it the disaster artist? About that movie The Room? Herbie: yeah yeah yeah yeah. The acting I've never seen it, but that's another Shamus: Yeah, it was Franco and his crew did a movie about the guy who made the worst B movie and possibly the worst film ever made. Yeah. So the movie about it is called The Disaster Artist. And the original movie that has this huge cold following now because it's so bad. It's like it's called The Room. I forget the guy's name. Yeah. Herbie: It's always being used in in memes and stuff to Shamus: I watched I didn't watch the room, I watched the Disaster Artists. And like if that's true, like somebody really should have stopped that dude. Herbie: Yeah, but like it's just like own money, so it's just like what the hell? Shamus: yeah, if you got your own money to d yeah, go ahead and do it, but jeeze. Herbie: That's one thing about like some of these people, like, you know, the vanity projects, like it's just like the person themselves like writes, stars, directs it, funds it, does everything. So of course they gotta be a main star. Same thing with like the guy, John Michael Thor from Rock'n'Roll Nightmare, which is a definite watch. You gotta watch it, man. It's great. Shamus: Yeah, I just don't understand how these people get dis like 'cause I'm watching it, I'm thinking to myself, how comes nobody And like you said, the guy paid for it, he directed it, dah dah dah, dah. You can't tell shit. But I was just kinda like, man. I guess some people are wired like that because I'd be like watching like the dailies. Yeah. 'Cause I've been doing research, like I'm gonna start I'm gonna do I am gonna write a script. Right. And like I'd be like, you gotta be shitting me. Like this is crap. Like we need to redo this or like that was nope, it's good, let's go. And I'm like, Man, this movie I I refuse to watch the original movie because I was like, if it's this bad, the way this movie's putting it, there's no way I can sit through that shit. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause it's just that's that's the charm. That's that's the one thing I always love about the B movies, 'cause you sit there and watch it like either it's painful to watch or it's just crappy. It's like so so shitty that it's it's actually cool. There's even another one I I watched. It was it was is made by this actor. It's almost like a the Filipino version of Mini Me. His name's Wing Wing. And he did a couple he's like a 007, right? And he's like super tiny dude. And it the first movie I watched was called For Your Height Only. And it's just like this little dude, the little Filipino dude. And he does his own stunts. I'm like this guy's actually jumping for he's great. Shamus: From Herbie: It's definitely definitely a watch dude. This name's Wig Wig Shamus: That's awesome. Yeah. You said he was mac and chicks, too. I think we talked about this before, right? Herbie: There's even a scene where he's escaping from a hotel room. Like a high like a high hotel room with an umbrella, jumps out of it and just like parachutes down, dude. And there's even like the one scene where he's like puts on a little jet pack and like flying over a river. it's it's it's Shamus: I haven't used that term in our mailbag somebody used it. Now I can't get rid of it. Mac and chicks. I read Herbie: Yeah, smack it. Shamus: that in our mailbag. I'm like, where did this guy come from? Nineteen ninety five? Herbie: Well that's basically our fan base, really. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah. So do you have like a top five list of some of your like right off the top of your head? We'll do it one by one. I'm gonna go first because I'm gonna give you the last pick since this is your genre, 'cause I can't certain B movies I just can't whew. my number five is gonna be Rad. The bike movie we discussed and everybody else on the exciting new besides Jay hate it. Herbie: He's Shamus: that movie to me is it takes me back to my childhood, man, riding bikes and doing all the stunts and ollies and tabletops and endos and cherry pickers and whatever I mean, God, I sometimes I still look at that. I saw my 20 inch bike out there and I'm like, man, maybe I should I'm like, nah, I can't afford to get hurt. Herbie: I still got my bike too, man. I my diamond back. Give you going Shamus: Yeah. What's your number f give me one. Herbie: ape with Tony Danza and Danny DeVito. Yeah, it's like three orangutans. Shamus: I do remember that. Sort of. It's great. Every like Clint Eastwin makes a movie, any which way of it loose or any which way you can. And yeah, those are now everybody like BJ and the Bear. Yeah. like you said, going ape, like everybody had a goddamn ape or gorilla. Yeah. So don't what was the premise of that movie? Were they gonna Herbie: It was basically Shamus: take them to like Project X what Matthew Broderick says? yeah, that's an ape. Herbie: Yeah, that's a low budget movie too, but that was good too. I like it. it was no, it was basically it was a Danny DeVito's like an uncle and the other guy, Jesus Christ, I just said his name. Tony Danza. Yeah, Shamus: Johnny Dan. Herbie: Tony Danza, he's like his uncle owns a circus. So he dies and basically what he's trying to do is like he leaves those three orangutans to Tony Danza in his will. So he brings him, you know, him and his uncle, Danny DeVito to live with him in his apartment in like LA or something like that. But of course, you know, the orangutans aren't allowed to, you know, there's no pets allowed in the house. So he's got like this huge like gymnasium with like monkey bars and stuff all over his apartment. it's great. It's a great movie. Matter of fact, the Captain Mauser from Police Academy's in it. And what's his face? The Italian guy from Goodfellas, the one that that's that that you find frozen in the locker that's dead. He's Shamus: Okay. Herbie: in it. He's like another one of the guys. Basically the the there's another guy that knows the orangutan. Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: They freaking they w they want to try to steal the orangutans because they're worth money. But I don't I don't think Tony Dan Tony Danza knows that they're worth money and stuff like that, but it's just left to him. Shamus: I never I never think of Frank that guy from Good F I always think of his part in the wedding singer. Where he's with her in the lawn. He's like, go down there and talk to him, dude. He's I don't want my brother in law being like and like he was just like as he's walking away, you hear him like wet. He was like, shit, I just wet myself. All right, my number four is gonna be another Stallone B movie. Over the top, the arm wrestling movie back in the day. headed up by Kenny Loggins hit, Meet Me Halfway. love that movie too, man. that is pure testosterone at its finest. Like that gets you fired up watching that movie. didn't really care too much for the kid in the movie, thought he was a bitch. But and of course Terry Funk's in it. You gotta watch it 'cause Terry Funk's in that movie. You know who Terry Funk is, right? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So Herbie: The kid that was in that movie did a Roger Corman movie. That's another shitty sci-fi movie. It's great. Battle of the Stars or something like that. Shamus: okay. I was gonna say I was waiting on the title. Herbie: it's horrible. It's great though. Whatever it's on, I'll watch it. Or like I'll look I'll just go down like memory lane and just watch all those shitty sci-fi movies too. I love them. Shamus: what's your number four? Give me another one. Herbie: number four, I would definitely say bad taste. That's Peter Jackson one with the aliens like come down to New Zealand and wipe out a whole town. Huh? Turn him into fast food. it's just disgusting too. It's like his first three movies, like that was just gonna bundle it. Like the first three movies that Peter Jackson did was Bad Taste, Dead Alive, which is a zombie movie where he just like chops up a room full of zombies with a lawnmower, which is great. And Meet the Feebles. So it's almost like the Muppet Show on crack. So it's yeah, those three the bundle. I'm doing a bundle. Shamus: Did you ever see that happy time happy town happy time murders with the puppets? Herbie: I've seen pieces of it. I do wanna watch it though. I got it on my watch list. Shamus: I was cr I was in a movie theater, I couldn't stop laughing. That Herbie: my god. Shamus: I love stuff like that. Like when they like when I was a kid, Who Framed Roger Rabbit when they do like the the real people with the cartoons and stuff, like even Paul Abdul's, where she was dancing with that cat. Yeah. Herbie: Forward thing. Shamus: I kinda like stuff like that. Yeah. It's so when I saw that, I was like, I'm gonna go check this shit out. Because I love comedy stuff. That movie was absolutely his terrible. Herbie: Jersey Cool World. Shamus: I did, but I can't it was kinda like a real badass version of like Who Frame Roger Rabbit. Herbie: Yeah, Ralph Bakshee is the guy that created it. It's a he's known for like Fritz the Cat. He also did the old Lord of the Rings animated, heavy he also did heavy metal, the animated movie. He's Shamus: got that on T V D sometime. Herbie: got a bunch of stuff. Shamus: I don't know why my aunt got me that for Christmas one year when I was a kid. You Herbie: I think it was just like popular 'cause like even the the cover. Shamus: like heavy metal, right? No, it was I think she meant yeah it was something different, but I watched it and I was like yeah, whatever. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause actually it was a magazine. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah. All right. Number three. I'm gonna go with yellow beard. Herbie: yeah, that's a good one. I love I just watched that a little while ago. Shamus: That movie is absolutely ridiculously just funny and cheesy and I mean those guys, I mean the Mighty Python crew, all those dudes. like I said, to me, one of my favorite and probably one A or one B, Animal House and yeah, Mighty Python in the search for the holy grail. Herbie: Do you think like those those movies though, do you think they had they had a bigger budget though? You know, I mean they did a lot of crazy stuff on it and it's just like loaded with like future stars and everything, but Do you think Shamus: absolutely. Herbie: it would classify that as a B movie? I I I I would classify it as a B movie. Shamus: It's it's classified as a B movie, but like I just I don't know how because I think that movie is absolutely hysterical. Herbie: Well, I think like back in the day movies like that kind of bombed in the in movie theaters because you have like, you know, Siskel Nieber watch it first and then review it and tell everyone it's just like trash and all that crap, and then other people are like, this is stupid. I don't want to watch it. Yeah, they're stupid. Shamus: Yeah, well I can't stand critics anyway. Yeah. Give me one. Herbie: I'm gonna say another one in God We Trust. It's another 80s classic. It's actually the one dude from Young Frankenstein, the guy that played Igor. Shamus: Morning filming. Yes. Yeah. Herbie: Alone movie. Yeah, he plays a monk. And Andy Kaufman and Richard Pryor's in the movie. And he's like a monk that lives in a monastery and he goes down because Andy Kaufman is like this TV evangelist with a lot of money, and he's gotta go down and try to ask him for for donations to save the monastery. It's just a stupid movie, but I love it. It's got a lot of people that and Richard Shamus: Nice. Herbie: Pryor plays God. Shamus: Yeah, can't beat that. You gotta I gotta check that. What's it called? All right, I'm about to Herbie: called In God We Trust. Shamus: check that one out. All right. My number two is gonna be Clerks. Herbie: yeah. Shamus: That movie is absolutely it's it's to me, it's pure genius the way it's shot. how they did it on the budget. everything's black and white. Yeah. And dude, just just the dialogue in that movie. I mean that's yeah, it's And it's pure Jersey. Yeah. I that's how everybody around here talks to each other and shit and I don't know. a guy I worked with for years, he lives right around the corner from that quick stop. Herbie: Really? Shamus: Yeah. and I was like really and he was like, dude, I went to high school. He like, Those guys were a bunch of fuck he was like, They're actually that's what they were in high school. They were skeezy stoner fucks. Yeah. Just hung out at at those stores where they worked and stuff. He was like, Guy made you know, a whole career off of just basing two characters off exactly who they were in high school. Herbie: Great is that. Shamus: And I was like, Hey, you gotta give them some respect. And he like, no doubt He was just like But you know, I was an athlete, those guys were fucking skeezy Stoner fuck, so fuck Herbie: He's like I got a nine to five job and he's a goddamn multi millionaire. Shamus: He was I think he's moved since, but he was Yeah, he's I drive by because we were talking about it one day at work. And he was I drive by that fucking store every day on the way to work. And I'm like, Really? He's Yeah, I was like, That's cool, dude. Herbie: God. That is cool. Shamus: Yeah, I mean, to be honest with you, I think it's probably one of the and not even a B movie thing, but just like creatively, that is probably one of the greatest movies of all time. For somebody to take a V CR with black and white film and go, okay, this is what we're gonna do. And it was just him and him pretty much. Yeah. So yeah, I thought an amazing accomplishment. Herbie: Alright, I'm gonna go with one called Holy Moses. It's with Dudley Moore. It's almost like he Huh? Shamus: The guy played Arthur? Yeah. Okay. Herbie: It's it's like one of his other movies. It was just it's just so stupid. But it's great. Shamus: He was also the elf in that movie, Santa Claus, the movie, wasn't he? Herbie: I think so. I'm sure he d I mean I I used to love him and Arthur. Like it's actually where I first saw him in Arthur. I haven't seen it. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, I remember Arthur, but I d I don't remember anything else he's ever been in besides Santa Claus movie. Yeah, what those like I don't even know what other movies was he in besides the one you just named. god. Herbie: There's a couple of other ones that were like not really well known. I forget. Shamus: He plays an amazing drunk. And Arthur he was awesome. Herbie: And Arthur too on the rocks. Shamus: I haven't I can't remember if Selda I saw the remake with Russell Brand. Yeah. Who I'm a big fan of. I do like Russell Brand. But like I was like, yeah, remakes never are are better than the the originals. So all right, I'm gonna give you my number one. And every time I hear this movie, like if it's never on TV, it's not one of those mic drop or remote drop ones 'cause it's never on. But every time I dude, I can't stop laughing. Is that movie Jekyll and Hyde together again? my god. That Herbie: yeah. Shamus: is absolutely it kinda gets mixed up with that movie Doctor Detroit with Dan Aykroyd. Herbie: Yeah, you know what? That yeah, that's yeah, I got that one too. That's gonna be my number one. Yeah. Shamus: Jacqueline Hyde, dude, is that that is for those of you who've never seen or heard of this movie, the dude, I forget the guy's name. He's been in a couple movies too. Yeah. Herbie: He was in the Incredible Shrinkin Woman with Lily Tomlin. He was like the the janitor dude that helped her escape. Shamus: Yeah, I don't I'd never seen that movie. But he was also the reporter or the interviewer for the Kiss Exposed movie. Mm-hmm. when they were doing all kinds of interviews. But anyway, he's a scientist looking for a cure for something, and he makes this I guess some kind of medicine or something. Yeah. And he accidentally takes it and it turns him into a sex craze maniac. So when he's a doctor, he's Dr. Jekyll, but then he turns into like this guy called Hyde, is not even Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Hyde. And he just rips up the town looking for hookers and blow and alcohol and shit and he falls in love with one. Yeah. And f dude, it is what a and he the scene where he's going to London is Herbie: Well I got it on D V D, man. So do I. It's great. Shamus: I got on I couldn't believe Apple had it on their thing. I actually bought it. but my god, that movie is absolutely hysterical. Herbie: Another fun fact that like the the the gr the the love of his life in that movie, she actually played a actually I just watched it again. It's like a camp movie. It's with Chrissy McNichol and Matt Dillon's called Little Darlings and that girl is in that movie too. Shamus: How does she look now? Chris. I used to have a crush on there when I was a kid. Herbie: She looks pretty good 'cause I look when I watched the movie I was like, yeah, what does she look like now? And she yeah, she's just Shamus: She was one of those girls that was just never super famous, but just kind of you know what I mean? Like never Yeah, she was hot. But yeah, Jekyll and Hyde together again. If you've never seen that and you like stupid comedy movies, that movie is my god, it is comedy gold and my favorite B movie of all time. What's your favorite B movie of all time, Harvey? Herbie: gonna say now I mean I got a huge I got like 9,000 but I'm gonna like now I just changed my mind I'm gonna say Flash Gordon I it I think Shamus: That's considered a B movie? Herbie: it it might have flopped or whatever but that is such I love that movie man that movie just the the the theme song the the everything the costumes I mean you got so many dude it's great dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun flash dude Shamus: Yeah. Well it's like I said, it's got a huge I mean, they spoofed it in Ted. Yep. They had him on. Herbie: Huge call following man. It's like but you what's 'cause like like you said, is you know, did it did it bomb in the box office? I'm not sure. But it's just like the way it was done artistic wise and stuff, it was just, you know, visually it was awesome. Shamus: Can't remember it. I I remember seeing it when I was a kid. Herbie: I mean, got freaking Gimli in the movie from Lord of the Rings and shit, and he's like, you know, the the commander of the Hawkman and stuff. It's great. Pier what is his name? Not Pierce Brosnan, but the other guy. He he's like the Prince of Arboria or some shit like that. Yeah, he was Shamus: Gami B. Herbie: God, not Pierce Brosnan, the other guy. He's another like classy British actor. But yeah, that was all I was gonna say. That's my first that's my number one B movie pick. Shamus: All right. Yeah. That's what's up. I just I every time somebody mentions Flash Gordon, I of that guy at my buddy's fiftieth birthday party. I was like, that guy looks like Big. Herbie: It did like Max Bon Sidehouse. Another one, strange brew. Great beef. Shamus: Is that considered a B movie? I love me some Mackenzie Brothers. That her dog flies everywhere. Herbie: yeah man, just give him some beer and sausage, man. It's it Max Shamus: That is a great B movie. Herbie: Von Sidehouse in it. I mean like just like the chaos of like it's another B movie, but you got like that was Shamus: No, was that a Saturday night or is that like the the Canadians version of Saturday Night Live? Like their spinoff. Yes. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause I was like John Candy and what's his other face? the the dad from American Pie. Eugene Levy. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, that was that was I I forgot all about that movie. There's so many Herbie: I mean, there's so many B movies. Like, I like this is just like another list. And listeners, I'm sure you're probably like, you forgot this, this, this, this. You're right. I did it. Because like I love B movies and I have a huge. Shamus: I was gonna say this is more this is if if you have anything for the mailbag, which is teamprocroll two five at gmail dot com, make sure you you can address me. I'm probably not gonna know too much about it, but this is more Herbies. Yeah. And Allie. So make sure Yeah. Herbie: If you do drop a be Shamus: Let's hear some B movie stuff. So speaking of the mailbag I got four or five of here. I am. we haven't done mailbag in a while, so I figured we'll give that a shot. like I was telling you before, there was some I I I love our fans, dude. I'm sure it's done in good fun. but there's some we can't mention. like I said, the last time or the time before we did mailbag, the one old guy wanted to know how Yoda's dick taste. Herbie: It tastes like high C ectocooler juice. Like from Shamus: That's gonna say the shrammar shade. Herbie: McDonald's. Shamus: But somebody actually wrote to me and said, Hey, you know what I did for a summer job? While you were over at the farm or doing whatever you were doing, working at Sam's Club of Berkeley, I was at home fucking your mom like all summer and I was like, Yeah, that's pretty good dude. Thanks. So, I mean, if that's what you wanna do, I mean I love my mom, but there's probably other better options out there. Herbie: Yeah I mean. Shamus: But thanks for the thanks for dropping a line anyway, bud. We appreciate it. There was some other stuff. there was a lot of ice cream joint suggestions and record store suggestions. really? yeah. Apparently the there's ice cream places everywhere. there's one up around the corner here, Cups and Cones. I think the Happy Place, the donut place we talked about before, I think they do it. Evergreens is awesome. there's Aritas right around the corner. everybody dropped me all kinds of suggestions for ice cream. the people from Exciting and New even dropped One not in our mailbox, but like posted on her Instagram, like we have to check out the Princeton Junction record store. yeah? I think I do re I don't know if I remember overhearing it in one of their pods, I think one of their friends actually owns it. I know Jay goes up air, the one guy Jason goes up there all the time. Yeah. So I might meet Jay up there one day. We'll go run through some records. I didn't get a chance to go to the record riot in Burlington last Sunday. I got tied up. But Apparently this thing just moves around. They're coming right to Cherry Hill this weekend. there you go. So I'm gonna check it out. I forget where it's at in Cherry Hill, but it's somewhere like right off of seven. It's right up the street. So I'm gonna go check that out. So we appreciate all the suggestions, you know, and all that stuff. Opinions 'cause some people are like, This is the best ice cream ever, you gotta try this, you gotta try that. Yeah. So and I hey man. I'm all about checking ice cream out. So Alright, so let's start with the ones I wrote down, the ones I thought were actually pretty decent. This one's from Danny from Millville. Hey guys, love the show. Just listen to the BMX in America episode and love the movie Rad. Such a great movie, and after listening to you talk about it, it instantly takes me back to my childhood, like those like this show always does. I have since watched the movie nine times since then and even bought some Rad Racing merch. Herbie: Nice. Shamus: Do you guys ever have or want the mongooses Crew used in the movie? Keep up the great work. That would be Danny from movie. I didn't realize that until just recently during the I guess for the 40th anniversary, and I g I told Jason about it. And we watched it before I actually went up there and had to defend that movie on the exciting and new. they did a documentary on it, and I didn't realize that the bike that crew actually rode in that movie was a mongoose. Herbie: yeah, mon goose like all over the place too. Huge names. Shamus: Yeah, so I was never a big mongoose guy. it is a cool bike. Yeah. But I just to me, I'm one of those guys that everything has to be like he had like a red seat, blue tires, different pads. I mean everything's gotta match everything. I have that what is it, ADT or whatever. and I was always a GT Dino guy. I was like I still have my Mach one. I've had pro performers, I've had the Dino Vipers and the VFRs and stuff like that. I always kept my Mach one though. yeah, I've never ridden anything other than I mean Huffies when I was real little. But I mean just I was always a GT and Dino go. You said you have a diamondback, right? Yeah. You never had a mongoose? Herbie: No, actually no, actually I had a mongoose for like a little bit, but I wrecked it. Shamus: Okay. Now I will give you a small Easter egg on the set that we are building amongst my army of action figures that I'm building and putting together. There might be a rad racing guy in there somewhere. yeah. On a mongoose, by the way. So Herbie: That's cool, yeah. Very nice. Shamus: make sure you're looking out for that, Danny, and we appreciate the email. Number two Hey pork rollers. I too live in the communist state of New Jersey and feel Herbie's pain. Sucks we can't buy cool stuff like wrist rockets, flamethrowers, or potato guns. Herbie: potato guns, yeah. Do they sell potatoes? Shamus: Potato. I thought you had to build it. Herbie: you probably can, but yeah, it's a good idea too, man. Potato gun. Like potato gun. Shamus: I know there's there's a contest. You have to build like you build a potato gun, whoever shoots it further. I thought can you actually buy potato? Herbie: Think so. Shamus: We'll have to look that up. yeah. We will get back to all four and a half of our listeners. Herbie: potato gun. Shamus: All right. I heard Seamus mention the Supreme Court's decision on the state's AR ban. If the appeal fails, will you buy a new AR or modify the one you have? Do you have any suggestions for scopes? Thomas from the mythical land of central Jersey. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Herbie's going to look into the potato gun thing. We'll get back to everybody on that. as far as the band goes, I I think Jersey said they're not going to appeal it and come July 31st, which I believe is a couple days, they're going to let everybody just do what they want. Now, it doesn't mean like you can get a fully automatic AR. Yeah. It just means there's certain things that you had, and I I touched on this before and I'll I'll keep it quick. there's certain things on your AR. if you live in New Jersey you had to have you had to have like a Like you couldn't have a folding stock, you couldn't have a collapsible stock, you couldn't have a flash suppressor, you couldn't have a bayonet thing, and you had to have ten rounds. and Supreme Court went, You don't have to do that anymore. I'll probably send mine to my uncle and have it set up the way I had mine when I was in, you know, the Middle East. And as far as scopes go, I think I have an Eotech I don't know the model, but it's a red dot. it's like I said, it's the same one. Same model I had when I was in, you know, the dirt overseas, doing God and country type stuff. and like I said, I'm just gonna set mine up the way I had it when we were kicking indoors and all that stuff like that. So I'll get back to you. I'll send you a private message, but like I think it's an Eotech one eleven or one twelve or something like that. I'll get back to it. But we do appreciate and whatever you do, bro, and this is for all our listeners, I'm all about the second amendment. But whatever you're doing, please do it safe. Yeah. Like if you if you if you're just like, Okay, now I can go buy an AR and you've never shot an AR before, buy it. But don't load it, don't do anything. Go to a range, talk to people who know what they're doing before you just fucking Yeah. Herbie: Don't be some crazy nut that you shit up. Shamus: don't don't just go weapons hot and just I know what I'm doing at a range and stuff and end up shooting yourself in the foot or hurting somebody. Make sure you do the research. You get with people that know what they're doing and and like I said, man, just be safe. And don't don't like Herbie just said, be be safe about it and and don't yeah, be responsible. and don't do no dumb shit. So Herbie: Yeah, because we don't condone that stuff. Shamus: Thanks, Thomas, from the mythical land of central Jersey. Okay, Herbie: See it does exist. Shamus: well, apparently he's a listener. and we're gonna get into that one day. Hell yeah. That is an episode card. Yeah. All Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: right, number three. I got a pet peeve for you. This was his dude, when I was reading this one, I was pissing myself because I could hear this guy's voice like a pissed-off Italian He's like, I got I got a pet peeve for you. When a jerk off takes a perfectly good Italian hoagie, sub hero, or whatever the fuck you're calling it from where you're fucking from, and has the balls to put mayo on it. Herbie: yeah, don't do that. Shamus: I'd like to beat a motherfucker to death with the sandwich they just ruined, them rap bastards. Then he puts, God bless you and love the show. Herbie: Thanks, man. I totally agree. Shamus: Tony Ugats for self Herbie: God bless you, Tony. Shamus: I when I read that, I was hysterical. I agree. And to be honest, I sat there and thought about it. I've never known any human being. My buddy Pat's mentioned this before, too. Herbie: My b my buddy did too. He used to like Shamus: the guy I helped out, Joe's brother, the wrestling guy. Yeah, he's mentioned that he can't stand that either. I've never met a human being on the planet who's ever because when I read that and after I got done laughing, I was like, Do I know anybody at that time? And I was like, I don't think I've ever I was I don't think I've known anybody who puts mayo on a fucking Italian hoagie. Herbie: of mine did, but I see me This Shamus: You're just not friends with him anymore now? Herbie: is like me is like provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, vinegar and oil, and freaking oregano. That's it. You don't need to get all cu you know what mean? You don't need to add no goddamn mayo. Shamus: So now I was like, maybe I should try that shit. No. But then I don't want to get beat up. Yeah. If I order it. Cause then I'm about this guy sounds like he's one of those dudes like if he owns a deli, I'm like, yo, let get that dry. Like, why? We're gonna put some fucking mail on it. Herbie: No, he's right though. Like for me, I like another pet peeve like food stuff. Hot dogs, just mustard. I don't do ketchup. I mean I could, I just don't. You know, I don't really have anything wrong with ketchup, but when I get a hot dog, mustard. Shamus: What kind? A mustard. Herbie: what kind of mustard? Like a not the spicy, spicy brown or just like regular classic yellow mustard. Shamus: Yeah, there's a there's a place around the corner called Farm Dog. huh. I've never been to. and it it it's a new rage thing going like they they like Chicago hot dogs and they put like all this shit on it. And I'm like, how the hell do you even eat that without getting sloppy? You know what mean? Herbie: There's a lot of food vloggers doing like, you know, checking out Rut's hut and all the other stuff. I mean they look good. I've I'd try it out, but Shamus: Yeah, I would try it out, but to me, like you said, quarter pound hot dog, straight spicy brown mustard on it. That's it. I like onions too. Herbie: yeah. I need some onions. yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll do that. So or sauerkraut. Or like the Wawa Chili Dog. They gotta bring them back. Wawa's gotta bring back the chili dog, especially when you're all tuned up from late at night. Shamus: How are they I know every once in a every w there's a every once in a while I'll see at a Wawa like the the pre made hot dogs that are just in it. Are they any good? Herbie: I had one. Just just to try it. I was like, it was alright, it's all right. I'm not gonna Shamus: Since it's a dirty water dog like you from a baseball game, right? See, I need a potato roll to Herbie: That's it. That's just that's it. Sometimes yeah. Let's just sit there for like a little bit and it's just like you know you need the chili. If you're gonna do a Woba hot dog, it needs the chili and the cheese. Shamus: All right. Keep that in mind. Thanks for the email, Tony Guts. And if I see anybody with mail on their Italian hoagie, I will send them your way. Herbie: I blame you. God bless, brother. Shamus: All right, number four. This one's for you, Herb. Okay. Too old. I love this show. And this is what I was talking about earlier. Yeah. I can't even see. I love this show, but and this is for Herbie. You're never too old to Mac a pretty waitress. Next time, not up and steal that ass, bro. Too old. Too old, my ass. You're never too old. Can't wait to see you on YouTube soon so I can put faces to voices behind this shit. Gary from Columbus, Ohio. Herbie: Bless you, Gary. Actually, you know what, Gary, you're right. I do I normally do balls up and I do a lot of stupid crazy shit 'cause all the best I could do is say no. But at that time I wasn't feeling my mojo. And I guess when you get to the video, you'll be like, all right, yeah, this guy does look like little Danny DeVito, so maybe Shamus: I thought you could have stole her that night, She came over and was talking, I was like, Herbie: Normal, I I could be charming and stuff, so you know, it's just I don't know. Check legs is Shamus: Yeah, you gotta stop that shit. You gotta stop that. I'm too old. She seemed interested, So yeah. All right. Herbie: Maybe I'll go back and she's Shamus: This is the last one. This is kind of wordy too. All right. Just listen to the retirement and letdown episodes and gotta say, Seamus is right. Well, there's a first. I can say this because I've been to a ton of retirement parties to include Seamus's and think people lose sight on what it's really all about. It's not about what you want to do. You got the rest of your life to do that. But about giving back to the people who are there for you every step of the way. To take a second and personally thank everyone for all they have done. And you don't need a big elaborate party to do that. And although Seamus' party was pretty fucking rad, he took time to spend time with each and every person there and thank them personally and with a really nice gift bag. He's a true gentleman. Even if he is the ugliest big headed motherfucker I've ever worked with. See you at the next funeral since you're out on retirement parties. And remember, eat shit and live. Brian Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: from the Jersey Shore. PS, this goes for destination weddings too. So that's one thing I did go back and thanks, Brian. I know exactly who that is. he was at the Gal think though, and he was the one that was like, this is some gay ass shit. And I was like, yeah, it is. Herbie: God bless you, Brian. Shamus: We didn't touch on that. Yeah. the destination wedding thing. We on that episode we talked about retirements and weddings. Yeah. we didn't talk about the destination wedding part. I'll never go to a destination wedding. I kind of think the same thing with that. You're asking if you're gonna profess your love to somebody, yeah, you're asking their family and friends, come with us so we can do it somewhere. No, no, no. Do that shit right here. Yeah. And then if you want. Like in if you want to renew your vows in a year or if that's where you want to go on your honeymoon, do that shit. Don't ask me to spend two thousand dollars on a goddamn plane ticket to go fly to see you guys do what you could fucking do here. Really? I would Herbie: Yeah, I mean Shamus: never ask anybody to do I don't know. It's like I said, I don't understand people anymore. like he said, I know we talked about like my like I was just pissed off and I wanted to party. At my retirement, he's absolutely right. I walked around to each table. There was anywhere from ninety to a hundred and ten people there. And I made sure I stopped and talked to every one of them. Thank them for coming. Thank them for being the you know. Yeah. I wouldn't be able to be the guy I was my career and wouldn't be able to retire in one piece without the help of all these people. Yeah. and like I said, I did put like a nice gift bag together and all that stuff like that. I mean, that don't mean shit though. Yeah. But like, yeah, some of these people were just like, Yeah, I'm retired. Let's go go I'm going golfing. Dude, you got the rest of your life to fucking golf. Hey, we're getting married. We're gonna go to the fucking Bermuda. You can go to Bermuda after you fucking do this shit here. I'm not paying all this fucking money to do it. There was one destination wedding I I really did want to go to, but my nephew ended up getting married the same weekend and he was you know, he takes priorities family. Yeah. and like I said, it didn't work out with them. It was like two years later and I ended up getting divorced. So like some of our buddies were like, dude, I spent all that fucking don't get me wrong, it was a great party, great time. But they're not even together anymore. So Yeah, Herbie: I Shamus: yeah, so I don't I don't know, man. Herbie: I get that. It makes sense. Yeah, like your buddy Brian makes a lot of sense. Shamus: Yeah. like I said, I'm still out on retirement parties. I'm not gonna do it anymore. And as far as weddings, I'll go to here. Yeah. you can spend as much money as you want. I I think it's ridiculous to have twenty seven food stay like a baked potato station, a hot dog, like a Chinese egg roll station before you like during cocktail hour. I mean, but if that's how you wanna spend your money, that's fine. I won't do destination weddings and I will not do retirement parties anymore. So But thanks for the letter, Brian. We appreciate it. And I hope you're well, brother. I do kind of miss hanging with ya. So what else you got going on this week before you go back to work? When do you go back? Friday? Herbie: God, I think so, yeah. I got a double check, yeah. But then I'm off the week and I yeah Shamus: How did you fuck that up? That is a rookie move. For those of you, all five and a half, that don't know. We actually gained a listener. yeah. Herbie took two weeks off and and law enforcement will understand this. you're scheduled to go back on Friday, but then you're off Saturday and Sunday when you could have just kind of rolled that right into Yeah, that's kind of Nah, you'll be all right though. Herbie: Yeah, stupid. I don't want to go back. When I have like the actual like you know, like especially when you know you have like you have like that break now. You're like, I gotta go back Friday and then I'm off the weekend. That's so stupid the way I filled it out. I'm goddamn it. Shamus: Yeah, but sometimes going back for that one day puts you back into mindset and then you have two days off and then you Nah. Okay. I was just trying to I'm trying to I'm trying to ease it over I'm trying to smooth it over. Herbie: I understand, bro. No, I made I made a mistake. I was like, nah, god damn it. I ruined my own buzz. All right. Damn it. But yeah, listeners, I appreciate you guys like writing in and stuff, man. It like keep it coming, man, because this is actually cool to like get interaction from people that listen. It's it's cool. Shamus: It's just man. It it's nice to know people actually listening and actually listen. Yeah. So Herbie: And like I said, if you guys have other suggestions or something you like we you think we should talk about or like the like our perspective on a certain topic or something, let us know. Shamus: Yeah, absolutely. We're always open to suggestions. Yeah. I just gotta open up a whole ghetto. I gotta go fuck your Herbie: So Shamus: All right. With that being said, we're gonna close this out. Remember to like, rate, and subscribe on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Once we go to video, we're gonna be on both of those and YouTube. We're probably gonna set up our own YouTube channel. So we will be putting that information out here shortly because we're almost there. Yeah. And also, make sure you're spreading the word about us on the street. Yeah, man. Let these people know that we're here. if you like what you're hearing. Herbie: Eat your pork roll. Shamus: Also, like I said Make sure you drop us something at the mailbag at Team Porkroll Two Five at Gmail dot com. And stay safe out there. Like I said, if you're buying guns or anything like that after this thing on the thirty first, buying an AR, please be safe. Be careful. Herbie: Responsible. Don't don't think don't be on the on the that Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: like actually and the the freaking dude with the flamethrower. I take back that I wanna like be his friend because I heard he's a pedo, so forget that. And I did get me a flamethrower. I mean it's not really a real flamethrower, but it's like it on Amazon. It's like one of the it looks like a propane like you know weed burner type thing, but it's good enough. Looks like a gun, so it's cool enough. Shamus: Okay. Yeah. We actually might need that. yeah. Herbie: Yeah, we gotta bring it over, man. Shamus: I know, because when you do the epoxy thing, you gotta heat it up to get the balls out of it and stuff. So okay. So that's actually a good buy there, buddy. Herbie: I'll say. Shamus: All right. And remember, as always, to control the pet population, get your pet spader-neutered, and remember to take care of yourselves, the community, and each other. You got anything else, buddy? Yeah, eat or pull. Yeah. And not Herbie: More pork pork roll. Shamus: tailor ham. Yeah. All right, everybody. Take care. We'll see you on the next one. Herbie: See you back.
