- 0:00Speaker 1: From Houston and across the great state of Texas, this
- 0:04Speaker 1: is KSEV Mornings with Craig Collins.
- 0:10Speaker 2: But I mean anything at all.
- 0:11Speaker 3: No, it's crazy.
- 0:12Speaker 4: Welcome to the Thunderdome, people.
- 0:14Speaker 1: News, opinions, politics, and the stories that matter to Texans.
- 0:19Speaker 5: I shaved for this?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Here are your hosts, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Remember, everyone, just don't be yourselves.
- 0:27Speaker 1: On KSEV AM 700, The Voice of Texas.
- 0:31Speaker 6: Yes!
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's awesome!
- 0:33Speaker 7: Ah!
- 0:38Speaker 8: And now, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:41Speaker 6: Yeah!
- 0:42Speaker 2: This is the KSEV Morning Show. My name is Craig Collins.
- 0:47Speaker 2: He would be Wayne Dolcefino. I don't know if he's
- 0:52Speaker 2: coming in, to be honest with you today. As he
- 0:54Speaker 2: was leaving the show yesterday, he's got some traveling he
- 0:57Speaker 2: has to do. And he said he might make it
- 0:59Speaker 2: for part of the show. He wasn't sure if that'd
- 1:01Speaker 2: be the beginning, the end, the middle. And I was like, dude,
- 1:04Speaker 2: it's your show. You're on the name along with me.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So come in whenever you want. So Wayne Dolcefino is
- 1:10Speaker 2: potentially going to pinch hit at some point during the
- 1:13Speaker 2: next two hours. If not, we have a lot of
- 1:15Speaker 2: stuff to talk about. I did hear Russell on the
- 1:19Speaker 2: press box very much seem happy about The Astros defeating
- 1:24Speaker 2: the Yankees yesterday, which was sad for me, but fine
- 1:27Speaker 2: for you and everybody else. The Astros have the Yankees
- 1:29Speaker 2: number and always have. I don't know why that is, Russell,
- 1:31Speaker 2: but it seems to be true.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You better hope they don't run into each other in
- 1:34Speaker 1: the postseason.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I'm so mad. I'm so mad that the Astros are
- 1:38Speaker 2: in first place now and likely to actually make the
- 1:40Speaker 2: postseason because, yeah, the Yankees would be screwed in that scenario.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Anything else would be. I loved when you guys were
- 1:46Speaker 2: in last place for a while. That was way better.
- 1:48Speaker 2: What happened? It's just a bad division.
- 1:50Speaker 9: Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Now I know. The Astros are the Astros, man. And
- 1:56Speaker 2: I think you said they're finally healthy earlier this morning.
- 1:59Speaker 2: They're healthier than they have been. Probably the healthiest they've
- 2:01Speaker 2: been all year.
- 2:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 2: No, that's fair. Well, here we go. And the Yankees
- 2:05Speaker 2: know how to crap the bed toward the end of anything.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens. But it was an interesting game,
- 2:11Speaker 2: a 9-7. Definitely fun. Lots of things out there to
- 2:14Speaker 2: talk about in the world of news. One of the
- 2:16Speaker 2: things that we probably should be talking about a lot
- 2:20Speaker 2: is the wildfires that are going on in Texas. I
- 2:23Speaker 2: saw that Fox News covered a lot of this, I think, yesterday.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The massive wildfire in Fort Worth, 50,000 acres, some homes
- 2:30Speaker 2: have been destroyed. I'll play a little bit of coverage
- 2:32Speaker 2: of that story. If this actually plays, which maybe it's not.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Is it plugged in? Is everything plugged in on that side? Yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 2: the 360 should be plugged in yet. Okay, all right,
- 2:45Speaker 2: let's check and see if I'm not doing something right
- 2:47Speaker 2: on my side, and then we'll get this going in
- 2:49Speaker 2: just a second to make sure that this— oh, no, that
- 2:52Speaker 2: should be right, too. All right, let's hit this. There
- 2:54Speaker 2: it is. Okay, let's restart that audio and go again.
- 2:57Speaker 10: West of Fort Worth has exploded in size, now scorching
- 3:01Speaker 10: over 50,000 acres. The flames have destroyed several homes, and
- 3:05Speaker 10: it's being fueled by triple-digit temperatures and incredibly dry conditions.
- 3:12Speaker 10: Let's check in with meteorologist Adam Clark for our Fox
- 3:14Speaker 10: weather forecast.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Hey, Adam.
- 3:16Speaker 10: Hey, good morning, LJ.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, unfortunately, conditions are set up here where this fire
- 3:19Speaker 3: could continue to grow. Currently, only 12% contained. You mentioned
- 3:22Speaker 3: the 50,000 acres. There it is just off towards the
- 3:25Speaker 3: west of Fort Worth. Winds are going to be an
- 3:27Speaker 3: issue with this. That helps fuel the flames. You're looking
- 3:30Speaker 3: at winds 20 to 30 miles an hour, 30 to
- 3:32Speaker 3: 40 miles an hour there so far this morning. That
- 3:35Speaker 3: can push those flames, allowing the system to continue to grow.
- 3:38Speaker 3: And boy, has it been hot, not just across Texas,
- 3:40Speaker 3: but across this entire region. Temperatures, again, will be climbing
- 3:43Speaker 3: up to 100 degrees or more today. There'll be a
- 3:45Speaker 3: couple isolated showers that'll pop up.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Across that region.
- 3:48Speaker 3: If they land in the right spot, that certainly would help.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's definitely been hot. We all would agree
- 3:53Speaker 2: with that, I think. I assume this is hot for Texas,
- 3:56Speaker 2: although I'm relatively new in the last couple years here.
- 3:59Speaker 2: But the last two weeks and this whole week have
- 4:01Speaker 2: been pretty brutal here. And so this is bad, obviously,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and we'll follow it as we go. Only 12 percent
- 4:08Speaker 2: of this fire is contained right now. I know that
- 4:11Speaker 2: that's Fort Worth. It's not necessarily Houston, but it's a
- 4:13Speaker 2: Texas story. So figured I'd keep us updated on everything
- 4:17Speaker 2: going on there. And it's a byproduct of living in
- 4:19Speaker 2: a place that's hot a lot of the year is
- 4:22Speaker 2: that occasionally these sort of things happen. It is not
- 4:25Speaker 2: at all a climate change thing. even though people will
- 4:28Speaker 2: claim that, yell that, and try to pivot a conversation
- 4:31Speaker 2: that probably should just be about people's homes and destruction
- 4:35Speaker 2: of property into something about politics, which always annoys me.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But that'll probably happen. At some point, you'll hear someone
- 4:42Speaker 2: or see someone in social media telling you that what's
- 4:44Speaker 2: going on in Fort Worth is indicative of climate change.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And again, just saying it's not. All right. I want
- 4:52Speaker 2: to play some Ken Paxton audio. Texans are choosing between
- 4:55Speaker 2: grocery bills and electricity bills, according to the post he
- 4:59Speaker 2: put up on social social media. If you vote for Tallarico,
- 5:04Speaker 2: things would get much, much worse for you. Things like
- 5:07Speaker 2: the added property taxes that are happening here and so
- 5:11Speaker 2: many other places throughout this state. And Ken Bax is
- 5:14Speaker 2: actually fighting a lot of these property tax increases in
- 5:18Speaker 2: any way that he can by limiting what people can
- 5:20Speaker 2: at what cities can actually do. As all of this
- 5:23Speaker 2: is occurring, it's simply true to just state out loud
- 5:28Speaker 2: that if Tallarico gets into a position of power, those
- 5:30Speaker 2: decisions to put more costs to your day-to-day life would
- 5:35Speaker 2: absolutely go up. Here's Ken Paxson.
- 5:38Speaker 11: Senate Bill 667 stopped Texas from sending your tax dollars
- 5:43Speaker 11: to companies controlled by the Communist Party. He voted no
- 5:47Speaker 11: on that, too. While Texans are struggling to make ends meet,
- 5:52Speaker 11: Tallarico voted to let your taxpayer dollars go to Chinese companies.
- 5:59Speaker 11: Think about that for a second. Texans are choosing between
- 6:02Speaker 11: the grocery bill and the electric bill right now. And
- 6:05Speaker 11: James Tallarico voted to take their taxpayer dollars and then
- 6:09Speaker 11: put them in the pockets of the Chinese Communist Party.
- 6:11Speaker 4: That's a reality.
- 6:14Speaker 12: That's not just a policy disagreement. It calls into question
- 6:17Speaker 12: whose side you're on. Eight years as a politician... James
- 6:22Speaker 12: Tallarico didn't vote against China even once.
- 6:25Speaker 4: He just.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Here's what I really like about this. I'll tell you
- 6:28Speaker 2: what I really like. This is finally doing the thing
- 6:30Speaker 2: that we've needed to have from Tallarico, from, excuse me,
- 6:33Speaker 2: Paxson's campaign about Tallarico the moment he won the runoff.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You have to start talking about the voting record. You
- 6:40Speaker 2: have to start talking about all the crazy things that
- 6:43Speaker 2: he says, which we've heard before, but you have to
- 6:45Speaker 2: do more of it. You have to put it in
- 6:46Speaker 2: all the campaign ads that are blanketed all over television.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I see Governor Abbott's ads often, and I like that.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm not upset by that, but I don't see any
- 6:57Speaker 2: ads for Paxton at all, and that's a problem. We
- 7:00Speaker 2: need to have some more Paxton ads added to the
- 7:04Speaker 2: coffers here, and mostly it's really just going to be
- 7:06Speaker 2: Tallarico running against himself. Wayne and I said that yesterday,
- 7:10Speaker 2: and I will repeat it again today because it's true.
- 7:13Speaker 2: The worst person to potentially inform Texans about how horrible
- 7:20Speaker 2: and crazy and radical Tallarico is, the person most capable
- 7:24Speaker 2: of doing that is Tallarico. You just have to have
- 7:27Speaker 2: someone else playing those videos on a loop. And one
- 7:30Speaker 2: of the ones that went viral this week, but it's old,
- 7:33Speaker 2: and we talked about it earlier this week too, but
- 7:36Speaker 2: it's this one. It's the neighbors with a uterus thing.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Citizens Every one of our neighbors with a uterus became
- 7:45Speaker 6: the property of the state government.
- 7:47Speaker 2: OK, so two things are insane about that statement. First,
- 7:51Speaker 2: he says every one of our neighbors with a uterus
- 7:53Speaker 2: just call them women. And then the other thing that's
- 7:56Speaker 2: insane about that is that he says that they're now
- 7:58Speaker 2: properties of the state because we want to protect babies
- 8:02Speaker 2: that are alive inside of women's bodies that should have rights.
- 8:06Speaker 2: That is a crazy, crazy. I want to play that again, because,
- 8:10Speaker 2: as I said, it went very viral. It's old. It's
- 8:13Speaker 2: definitely not a thing he did this weekend, although he
- 8:16Speaker 2: could have. That's the other point. I guess I'll make
- 8:19Speaker 2: this point first before I play again on the audio.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Every time one of these things goes viral, Tallarico's reaction
- 8:25Speaker 2: will be, I don't think that anymore. And that should
- 8:28Speaker 2: not work with any voters on either side of the aisle,
- 8:32Speaker 2: because it's not like these things are 15, 20 years ago.
- 8:36Speaker 2: And there's been a profound change in Tallarico's voting record
- 8:39Speaker 2: and or behavior since. Since he said that crazy stuff,
- 8:43Speaker 2: there's been there's been no transition. Oh, it's a weird
- 8:46Speaker 2: word to choose, but it's true. There's been no transition there.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And then suddenly when he's actually the candidate for a
- 8:51Speaker 2: statewide race, he's claiming there is. He's doing a very
- 8:54Speaker 2: sloppy version of I promise I'm not as as insane
- 8:58Speaker 2: as I seem to be. Now, please vote for me
- 9:01Speaker 2: so I can go be crazy in the Senate. Here,
- 9:03Speaker 2: let's play this again.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Citizens.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Every one of our neighbors with a uterus became the
- 9:09Speaker 6: property of the state legislature.
- 9:12Speaker 2: No, they didn't become the property of the state, and
- 9:14Speaker 2: that's also an insane thing to say. All right, one
- 9:16Speaker 2: last piece of audio that I do want to play
- 9:19Speaker 2: as far as Texas stories, Texas-related news goes. And I
- 9:23Speaker 2: have Beto O'Rourke audio that we might play later on.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I can't believe that people still bring Beto out places
- 9:30Speaker 2: and talk to him about politics. Like, you'd think that
- 9:32Speaker 2: that guy would go away, but no, of course not.
- 9:35Speaker 2: But I do want to play this. This is something
- 9:37Speaker 2: that happened about a week ago. It's Greg Abbott on
- 9:40Speaker 2: This Week. And part of the discussion is about the,
- 9:44Speaker 2: or maybe this was just a couple days ago, the
- 9:46Speaker 2: idea of gas prices determining our election. And I think
- 9:51Speaker 2: Abbott gave a much better answer than he's giving credit for. Actually,
- 9:53Speaker 2: we probably should take a break. So we can take
- 9:55Speaker 2: a break first. We can come back and play this audio.
- 9:58Speaker 2: But Carl on ABC. on this week asked Abbott if
- 10:02Speaker 2: the gas price promises of the past, saying that he'd
- 10:06Speaker 2: reduce the prices from three dollars and 60 cents down
- 10:08Speaker 2: to two bucks, are going to hurt us in the
- 10:11Speaker 2: midterm elections here in Texas or Republicans throughout the country.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'll play the audio of how Abbott answered the question,
- 10:18Speaker 2: which I thought was actually a really good answer, and
- 10:20Speaker 2: how I tend to agree with him. That coming up
- 10:23Speaker 2: in a bit. This is KSEV Mornings. I'm Craig Collins.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Wayne Dolcefino is on assignment. More after this.
- 10:50Speaker 13: Tune in each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for On
- 10:52Speaker 13: the Money with your host and CEO of Allied Wealth Texas,
- 10:56Speaker 13: Ryan Wheelis, who can help you live your richest life
- 10:59Speaker 13: possible during your retirement years. That's each Sunday at 9 a.m.
- 11:02Speaker 13: right here on AM700 KSCV.
- 11:05Speaker 14: Hi, y'all. It's Kathy from Baker Mortgage. You know, with
- 11:08Speaker 14: all the scary stuff we've been through, it's still true
- 11:10Speaker 14: that timing is everything and the time to buy is now.
- 11:14Speaker 14: But don't go looking without a solid pre-approval in hand.
- 11:17Speaker 14: And this includes an application and a detailed discussion about
- 11:21Speaker 14: property taxes. If you didn't have the talk. You know,
- 11:24Speaker 14: about property taxes, you really don't know what you're pre-approved for.
- 11:28Speaker 14: That should make you wonder what else they may have
- 11:30Speaker 14: left out. Mortgages are personal. Let's face it, we're dealing
- 11:33Speaker 14: with your home and your money, and it doesn't get
- 11:35Speaker 14: much more personal than that. When it's the largest transaction
- 11:38Speaker 14: that most people will ever be involved in, imagine having
- 11:42Speaker 14: someone on your side looking out after you. What a concept.
- 11:45Speaker 14: We audit your closing statement to make sure you're not
- 11:48Speaker 14: paying for things that you're not supposed to. Do you
- 11:50Speaker 14: think your big bank's going to do that? Probably not.
- 11:53Speaker 14: For all of your mortgage needs, call us at Baker Mortgage.
- 11:56Speaker 14: I promise you'll be glad you did. We're at 281-313-MOVE
- 12:00Speaker 14: or go directly to bakermortgage.com.

- 12:08Speaker 1: For conservative talk radio. The Voice of Texas.
- 12:14Speaker 15: The open enrollment period for medical plans is right around
- 12:16Speaker 15: the corner, so get some facts and your options. In
- 12:19Speaker 15: response to COVID-19, rates are expected to rise as high
- 12:22Speaker 15: as 40% in some states. Are you already paying exorbitant
- 12:26Speaker 15: Obamacare or HOBRA rates? Are you paying ridiculous rates for
- 12:29Speaker 15: your family on your work group plan? Are you going
- 12:32Speaker 15: without insurance because you can't find anything reasonable?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Your search is over.
- 12:36Speaker 15: Listen to your pal Chris Salcedo. How does a zero deductible,
- 12:39Speaker 15: no copay nationwide PPO plan sound? And you can get
- 12:42Speaker 15: it at half the cost. keeping your hard-earned money where
- 12:45Speaker 15: it belongs, in your pocket. American Medical Plans will tailor
- 12:48Speaker 15: a plan that best fits you as well as your budget.
- 12:50Speaker 15: American Medical Plans are local guys. Their goal is to
- 12:53Speaker 15: give you peace of mind and the utmost in health care.
- 12:56Speaker 15: Call American Medical Plans today to see if you qualify
- 12:59Speaker 15: and start saving 30% to 60% now.
- 13:00Speaker 16: Call 833-500-PLAN.
- 13:00Speaker 15: That's 833-575-26 or go to AmericanMedicalPlans.com. That's AmericanMedicalPlans.com. It's a
- 13:03Speaker 15: quality plan chosen and managed by you.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Not the government.
- 13:29Speaker 17: So you said recently that the price of gas in
- 13:32Speaker 17: Texas would be below $ 2.
- 13:34Speaker 4: By the end of the summer.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Are voters going to punish you and other Republicans if
- 13:39Speaker 3: it's not?
- 13:39Speaker 4: Because right now in averages 360 a gallon here in Texas.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And we're halfway through August, more than halfway through.
- 13:46Speaker 18: So when voters go vote in November, they will vote
- 13:51Speaker 18: on contrast and make a choice about do they want
- 13:55Speaker 18: the Republican or the Democrat candidate? And the answer to
- 13:59Speaker 18: that is far more complex than just one price point.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but you said it was going to be below $ 2.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I get that.
- 14:04Speaker 18: But also I say, that I want safe communities, whereas
- 14:08Speaker 18: our opponents, they vote to defund the police. I say
- 14:11Speaker 18: that I want to cut taxes where our opponents, they'll
- 14:14Speaker 18: jack up costs far more than the price of gas.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Our opponents.
- 14:18Speaker 18: They voted for a state income tax. They voted for
- 14:20Speaker 18: a death tax. They voted to increase property taxes. When
- 14:24Speaker 18: voters realize that, when these Democrats want to increase property taxes,
- 14:29Speaker 18: they will vote hostilities.
- 14:29Speaker 4: And they're not going to mind.
- 14:30Speaker 11: If gas is still over three bucks a gallon?
- 14:31Speaker 4: Let me tell you what.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I really dislike the way that this interview went. This
- 14:35Speaker 2: is KSCV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino
- 14:38Speaker 2: is on assignment today, although he might show up. I'm
- 14:41Speaker 2: hearing that there might be some amount of time where
- 14:44Speaker 2: he is actually here, although he is traveling. So we'll see.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Here's what I hate about the way this interview goes. Carl,
- 14:50Speaker 2: of course, John Carl challenges Republicans far more than he
- 14:55Speaker 2: ever challenges Democrats. He'll claim that's not true, but it is.
- 14:59Speaker 2: But also just the repeating of the idea that gas
- 15:02Speaker 2: prices alone are actually a decision maker for most voters,
- 15:06Speaker 2: when the reality is, as Abbott is pointing out, gas
- 15:09Speaker 2: prices wouldn't go down if Democrats got into a position
- 15:12Speaker 2: of power. In fact, other costs will continue to go up. Like,
- 15:16Speaker 2: here's the stupidity, in my opinion, of voting a certain
- 15:21Speaker 2: way on a certain issue is voting for the team
- 15:24Speaker 2: that made it worse when they were in office without
- 15:27Speaker 2: a fight, without a conflict. And so let's say Democrats
- 15:30Speaker 2: were to assume power in enough places to do some
- 15:33Speaker 2: real harm. I know that they can't actually unilaterally get
- 15:37Speaker 2: us out of Iran and the Iran conflict. So gas
- 15:40Speaker 2: prices won't be changed if that's the catalyst making it worse.
- 15:44Speaker 2: But they love to fight oil and gas companies. So
- 15:47Speaker 2: let's assume that people like when Biden was in office
- 15:50Speaker 2: are in places like Senate seats in Tallarico and they
- 15:54Speaker 2: go after oil and gas. Guess what happens to your
- 15:55Speaker 2: gas prices? They go up even higher. So those get worse.
- 15:58Speaker 2: They don't get better. So that's the stupidity, the lack
- 16:02Speaker 2: of logic to me of people who advocate for voting
- 16:04Speaker 2: for the other side. If they want some prices to
- 16:07Speaker 2: go down is you actually do have to vote for
- 16:09Speaker 2: people who will bring them down. You can't just vote
- 16:12Speaker 2: another side in office that doesn't believe in a lot
- 16:14Speaker 2: of this stuff and go, all right, that'll be fine.
- 16:16Speaker 2: That'll be way better. We'll have everything go the way
- 16:19Speaker 2: we want now. It makes no sense. As far as
- 16:22Speaker 2: other terrible policies that the Democrats have and they would
- 16:26Speaker 2: like to essentially force down our throats if they get
- 16:30Speaker 2: into power, are DEI policies. And Tallarico did an interview
- 16:34Speaker 2: where recently he talked about DEI and the legislation that
- 16:38Speaker 2: limits some of it here because it's inherently racist. Choosing
- 16:42Speaker 2: people based on their race for jobs is not good.
- 16:47Speaker 2: It's bad. It's illegal. It's racist. The Supreme Court has
- 16:50Speaker 2: decided that. And it's obvious. I don't care what race
- 16:53Speaker 2: you are. I'm not saying this just to defend white
- 16:56Speaker 2: people because I'm a white guy. I think people should
- 16:59Speaker 2: get jobs based on their ability to do a job.
- 17:01Speaker 2: End statement. I see that Carlos is calling in. Carlos,
- 17:06Speaker 2: how are you doing, buddy?
- 17:07Speaker 19: Hey, Greg, good morning. Like I said, I was telling
- 17:11Speaker 19: the guy to answer the phone. I live in Spring.
- 17:14Speaker 19: Like I told you before, I'm an independent voter.
- 17:16Speaker 13: Yes.
- 17:17Speaker 19: And since I moved, I'm looking at how to get
- 17:20Speaker 19: the hell out of Harris County because in five years
- 17:23Speaker 19: that I bought my home, my taxes have gone up $ 500.
- 17:26Speaker 19: And I was listening to the radio the other day,
- 17:29Speaker 19: and they're thinking of raising it even more, between $ 200
- 17:33Speaker 19: and $ 300 more a year.
- 17:34Speaker 8: Yes.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 17:34Speaker 20: I know.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I know, that's actually something that they're contemplating doing in
- 17:39Speaker 2: Harris County. And this is the point, Carlos, is that
- 17:42Speaker 2: if people choose to vote based on one or two issues,
- 17:45Speaker 2: like ABC apparently is hoping they do in Texas, because
- 17:48Speaker 2: they obviously want a Democrat to be a senator from
- 17:50Speaker 2: this state, things don't get better just because you switch teams.
- 17:54Speaker 2: They actually get inherently worse because of the policies on
- 17:56Speaker 2: that side.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 17:59Speaker 19: So like I said, I don't know if there's any
- 18:01Speaker 19: other independent voters listening out there that are not thinking
- 18:04Speaker 19: of voting or or voting blues in November, but please don't,
- 18:09Speaker 19: because I'm not lying. The reason I'm voting, if moving
- 18:12Speaker 19: or not, is because, you know, we all know the
- 18:14Speaker 19: rates are really high right now.
- 18:15Speaker 6: Sure.
- 18:15Speaker 19: But if not, I would have moved already, because I'm
- 18:17Speaker 19: not lying. $ 500 in five years, and they just announced
- 18:21Speaker 19: another tax rate on the home property.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, another $ 300. It's just crazy. Yeah, they want your money.
- 18:27Speaker 2: They want it any way they can get it. Thank
- 18:28Speaker 2: you for the call, Carlos. Anything else you wanted to
- 18:29Speaker 2: tell me before I let you go?
- 18:31Speaker 19: Yeah, just don't remember he's trying to create some other
- 18:35Speaker 19: type of policing too.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 18:37Speaker 19: Some crazy thing about it.
- 18:38Speaker 12: Oh, yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we can talk about that later.
- 18:40Speaker 19: This guy's crazy. So have a great day. I love you.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Sure.
- 18:43Speaker 19: I'm glad I can listen to you in the morning.
- 18:45Speaker 19: And actually, I can listen to you for two hours,
- 18:47Speaker 19: so that's even better.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 18:48Speaker 17: Thanks, man.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Thank you for calling in. Carlos was a regular caller
- 18:51Speaker 2: to the evening show that I was doing here. Very
- 18:53Speaker 2: nice guy. And as he says, independent voter, as you
- 18:56Speaker 2: can tell by his accent. He's a liberty-loving Latino, just
- 19:00Speaker 2: like Chris Salcedo was. I love it. I love hearing
- 19:04Speaker 2: from anybody. If you want to call in, be a
- 19:05Speaker 2: part of the show, you can. I do want to
- 19:07Speaker 2: play this audio that I was setting up, Tallarico and DEI,
- 19:11Speaker 2: because this is the point that the listener is making
- 19:14Speaker 2: and that I'm making, and that some are, I think, very...
- 19:19Speaker 2: I don't know what the right word for it is.
- 19:20Speaker 2: They're being morons in how they behave about this, or
- 19:22Speaker 2: just assuming that that if you remove a Republican from
- 19:25Speaker 2: a position of power that things get better. The reason
- 19:27Speaker 2: the state does so well, the reason Texas has a surplus,
- 19:31Speaker 2: all the different aspects of what is great about the state,
- 19:35Speaker 2: not necessarily the city that we live in, it's Republican control.
- 19:39Speaker 2: You don't want to start to hand that over, especially
- 19:42Speaker 2: not a seat as important as a Senate seat, and
- 19:45Speaker 2: just assume that somehow that's going to make your gas
- 19:47Speaker 2: prices better. I think that, and we're actually going to
- 19:50Speaker 2: have an economist on tomorrow, E.J. Antoni of the Heritage Foundation,
- 19:54Speaker 2: and he's going to dive much deeper into a lot
- 19:56Speaker 2: of the different things going on within the economy. But
- 20:00Speaker 2: I think the likelihood of the economy getting better is
- 20:03Speaker 2: irrelevant to who you put in power to a degree.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And what I mean by that is there's certain things
- 20:10Speaker 2: that are balls that are rolling. And I would give
- 20:12Speaker 2: the Trump administration a lot of credit for these balls
- 20:14Speaker 2: that are rolling as they are mostly removing restrictions on
- 20:18Speaker 2: oil and gas companies that are pushing us toward lower
- 20:22Speaker 2: costs across the board. Now, granted, a lot of the
- 20:25Speaker 2: companies have to play ball and actually lower their prices,
- 20:28Speaker 2: which we'll see if that actually happens. And we as
- 20:30Speaker 2: consumers can sort of force that by just not buying
- 20:35Speaker 2: things that we think are too expensive. That is a
- 20:37Speaker 2: power we have. If you think something costs too much,
- 20:40Speaker 2: buy a different version of it. Buy another brand or don't.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Don't buy it at all. Just find something that replaces it.
- 20:47Speaker 2: That is a way that we can help to push
- 20:49Speaker 2: costs down. But nonetheless, what I mean by it's irrelevant
- 20:52Speaker 2: to who's in power is if Democrats want to pretend
- 20:57Speaker 2: that their policies actually create lower prices, They'll just allow
- 21:00Speaker 2: that ball to roll for a bit, but then they'll
- 21:03Speaker 2: mess with it. Nothing that they see as good stays
- 21:08Speaker 2: good for us. It always gets terrible because they see
- 21:11Speaker 2: opportunities to inject back in a whole bunch of costs
- 21:14Speaker 2: to you and to me. And Carlos is pointing that
- 21:16Speaker 2: out so great in just property taxes itself. $ 500 over
- 21:20Speaker 2: the last few years that he pays in property taxes
- 21:22Speaker 2: additionally from what he paid when he first moved and
- 21:25Speaker 2: a $ 200 to $ 300 raise. depending on the typical cost
- 21:30Speaker 2: of your home and some other math they do there.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. I think it's the second biggest raise, and
- 21:35Speaker 2: Senator Betancourt has talked about this a lot, that we're
- 21:38Speaker 2: expecting to see in this area ever. And they're doing
- 21:43Speaker 2: this at a time when people are struggling, and ABC
- 21:46Speaker 2: News is trying to convince you that the reason you
- 21:48Speaker 2: would vote for a Democrat and not a Republican is
- 21:51Speaker 2: gas prices, and they're still trying to force a $ 300
- 21:54Speaker 2: bill down your throat? All right, I've set this up
- 21:56Speaker 2: a lot. I really should play it. Here is Tallarico
- 21:58Speaker 2: on DEI.
- 21:59Speaker 6: In my first session, I introduced a package of bills
- 22:03Speaker 6: called the Whole Student Agenda. And the idea was to
- 22:05Speaker 6: treat children as human beings first and students second and
- 22:10Speaker 6: focus on things like mental health in school, restorative justice, diversity, equity,
- 22:14Speaker 6: and inclusion being taught in the classroom.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he said this just the other day, diversity, equity,
- 22:18Speaker 2: and inclusion being taught in classrooms. This is something that
- 22:23Speaker 2: demonstrates how radical he is compared to the average Texan.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Because when the Supreme Court weighed in on certain DEI practices,
- 22:30Speaker 2: especially when it comes to universities, the decision seemed to
- 22:34Speaker 2: be praised by most people here in the state. Because
- 22:37Speaker 2: I want everyone that I know to deserve the job
- 22:41Speaker 2: that they got. And I remember that Charlie Kirk used
- 22:44Speaker 2: to talk about this a lot. And when he died,
- 22:47Speaker 2: one of the craziest things that happened on the left
- 22:50Speaker 2: is people claimed that he was a racist because of
- 22:53Speaker 2: a way that he discussed this topic. And so very quickly,
- 22:56Speaker 2: I know we're up against a break in another couple minutes,
- 22:58Speaker 2: I'm going to say the exact same thing Charlie Kirk said.
- 23:01Speaker 2: If he were sitting on a plane, if I were
- 23:03Speaker 2: sitting on a plane, and a black guy walks in
- 23:05Speaker 2: to fly the plane, I don't want DEI to make
- 23:10Speaker 2: me wonder if this person is good at this job.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I wouldn't think that if DEI is not a thing.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I don't care what you look like, black, white, it
- 23:17Speaker 2: doesn't matter to me if I can assume that there's
- 23:20Speaker 2: no policy in place trying to aggressively hire people based
- 23:24Speaker 2: on race. but just based on skill, then I won't
- 23:28Speaker 2: even contemplate for a second the qualifications of someone. It's
- 23:31Speaker 2: not inherent in me to see someone that looks different
- 23:34Speaker 2: than me and think that they're not qualified for whatever
- 23:36Speaker 2: their job is. But DEI creates that opportunity to have
- 23:41Speaker 2: that thought. And that thought itself is bad. Everything about
- 23:44Speaker 2: that conversation is bad. And we need to do everything
- 23:46Speaker 2: we can to distance ourselves from terrible decision-making that aggressively
- 23:51Speaker 2: allows people with lesser qualifications to to get gigs they
- 23:55Speaker 2: shouldn't have. That was the entire point, that Charlie Kirk
- 23:57Speaker 2: was making exactly the way I just made it, and
- 24:00Speaker 2: he was accused of being a racist. And he said
- 24:02Speaker 2: the only reason that he doubted someone's qualifications was political
- 24:07Speaker 2: agenda and political celebration of hiring people based on their race.
- 24:12Speaker 2: And I'll say this one last thing about this topic
- 24:14Speaker 2: because it's always mystified me. Not that I want to
- 24:17Speaker 2: help the bad guys do a better job with the
- 24:20Speaker 2: thing they're trying to do, But the bad guys would
- 24:22Speaker 2: like to hire people based on qualifications other than skill.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I don't know why they need to say that part
- 24:27Speaker 2: out loud. If they really wanted to do it, they
- 24:29Speaker 2: could just do it. They could just hire people, not
- 24:32Speaker 2: tell us it's DEI, and just keep living their lives.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But the politicians want political points. They don't care about
- 24:38Speaker 2: our society. They don't care about what's right and wrong,
- 24:41Speaker 2: who should and shouldn't be given certain positions, as I said,
- 24:45Speaker 2: based on their skill set. All they care about is
- 24:48Speaker 2: political points and getting reelected. So that's why they do it.
- 24:51Speaker 2: A DEI in Tallarico is not a thing they're doing
- 24:55Speaker 2: because they actually are trying to make things fair for
- 24:57Speaker 2: people they think are being treated poorly. They're doing it
- 25:00Speaker 2: because they're trying to buy your vote in any way
- 25:03Speaker 2: they can, and we need to stop them. All right,
- 25:05Speaker 2: quick break. A lot coming up. This is KSEV Mornings.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I'm Craig Collins, Wayne Dolcefino on assignment. I'll be back
- 25:12Speaker 2: in a bit.
- 25:21Speaker 16: We'll be right back.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Catch Chris X Radio weekdays at 4, right here on
- 25:32Speaker 1: The Voice of Texas.
- 25:33Speaker 21: It's a whole new era here at The Voice of Texas.
- 25:36Speaker 21: We have a brand new morning show, a huge new
- 25:39Speaker 21: digital presence on all the socials, including Rumble and YouTube.
- 25:44Speaker 21: But one thing stays the same. Consistent, conservative common sense
- 25:48Speaker 21: right here in the afternoons.
- 25:50Speaker 2: See you at 4.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Chris X Radio, weekdays 4 till 6, right here on
- 25:55Speaker 1: The Voice of Texas.
- 25:58Speaker 20: When it's time to replace a roof, some people put
- 26:01Speaker 20: it off until an emergency arises. This is Deb DeHatta
- 26:04Speaker 20: from Tejas Roofing, your Houston roofing company.
- 26:07Speaker 15: I understand.
- 26:07Speaker 20: People tell me it's way too complicated and too expensive.
- 26:11Speaker 17: Our customers tell us they wish they would have done
- 26:14Speaker 17: it sooner.
- 26:14Speaker 20: I hear it all the time. Once the roof is replaced,
- 26:17Speaker 20: they wonder why they waited so long because it's really
- 26:20Speaker 20: not that complicated. We show up on time. We quote
- 26:23Speaker 20: you a fair price. We replace most roofs in just
- 26:26Speaker 20: one day. At Tejas Roofing, we take pride in making
- 26:29Speaker 20: the process easy.
- 26:30Speaker 17: The cleanup is phenomenal. People always comment that it looks
- 26:33Speaker 17: like we were never there. And now those customers sleep
- 26:36Speaker 17: better at night knowing your new roof has been installed correctly.
- 26:39Speaker 20: When you know you need a new roof, don't put
- 26:41Speaker 20: it off. Call me now, Deb Tejada at Tejas.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Roofing, 281-251-0304.
- 26:44Speaker 20: Estimates are free, 281-251-0304. When you need roofing repairs, a
- 26:46Speaker 20: new roof or remodeling, call us at.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Tejas Roofing, 281-251-0304. Hi, this is Michael Miller.
- 27:02Speaker 22: Join me this weekend for the Backyard Bay radio program.
- 27:05Speaker 22: Now at our new time, Saturday mornings at 9 a.m.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Right here on.
- 27:10Speaker 14: AM 700 KSEV The Voice.
- 27:18Speaker 23: From the KSEV Weather Center, today will bring partly sunny
- 27:21Speaker 23: skies with toasty conditions reaching a high of 102. Tonight
- 27:24Speaker 23: will be mainly clear, warm and humid with a low
- 27:26Speaker 23: of 79. Tomorrow is expected to be hot with a
- 27:28Speaker 23: mix of clouds and sun, possibly seeing a thunderstorm in
- 27:31Speaker 23: some areas in the afternoon with a high of 100.
- 27:33Speaker 23: Friday will be mostly cloudy and very warm with the
- 27:35Speaker 23: chance of a thunderstorm and a high of 98. Saturday
- 27:38Speaker 23: will have intervals of sun and clouds with hot temperatures
- 27:40Speaker 23: and the possibility of a thunderstorm in some areas during
- 27:43Speaker 23: the afternoon with a high of 98. With the KSCV
- 27:45Speaker 23: Weather Center forecast, I'm AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
- 28:02Speaker 2: This is KSCV Morning. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne
- 28:06Speaker 2: Del Trofino is on special assignment today, traveling. Hopefully we
- 28:10Speaker 2: hear from him just a little bit. I keep hoping
- 28:12Speaker 2: that that might happen because as he was walking out yesterday,
- 28:14Speaker 2: he goes, maybe I'll come in for an hour. And
- 28:17Speaker 2: I said, you absolutely can, sir, if you want. He's
- 28:20Speaker 2: welcome anytime. He can just call it and be a
- 28:22Speaker 2: part of the show. And we actually are working. I
- 28:24Speaker 2: should tell everybody just quickly. I should tell the audience
- 28:27Speaker 2: this on ways for him to contribute when he travels
- 28:29Speaker 2: because he travels a lot. So we're trying to figure
- 28:33Speaker 2: out the best way. to make sure that if Wayne
- 28:36Speaker 2: has the time that he can also jump in and
- 28:38Speaker 2: be a part of the show, even for just a
- 28:39Speaker 2: little bit, or even maybe via, uh, some sort of recorded, um,
- 28:43Speaker 2: news breaking thing, uh, some sort of reporting style thing
- 28:47Speaker 2: that he's doing because he's uncovering a lot of dirt
- 28:49Speaker 2: every day, which I'm very jealous of. I'll just put
- 28:53Speaker 2: that out there too. Um, I think that what Wayne
- 28:56Speaker 2: Dolcefino has been doing over the course of his career is,
- 28:59Speaker 2: is uniquely cool. And that very few people are actually
- 29:01Speaker 2: doing that, uh, nowadays. Um, Nick Shirley is another name
- 29:05Speaker 2: that's doing stuff like this too, but there's just so
- 29:08Speaker 2: few people even trying to find answers because of how
- 29:11Speaker 2: hard it is, I think, to get to them that
- 29:13Speaker 2: I think it's a great thing that happens all the
- 29:16Speaker 2: time that is part of the reason why Wayne's not
- 29:19Speaker 2: going to be here as much as we'd like. All right,
- 29:20Speaker 2: let's play this first. I'm going to get to some
- 29:23Speaker 2: Beto O'Rourke audio at one point. I have a little
- 29:27Speaker 2: bit more about Texas races, but I do want to
- 29:30Speaker 2: first play an announcement from last night that Darlene Graham
- 29:33Speaker 2: had won her runoff and that she is now going
- 29:36Speaker 2: to face a Democrat in the midterm elections to try
- 29:38Speaker 2: to retain the seat. that her brother had in the
- 29:41Speaker 2: South Carolina Senate before he passed away, of course. And
- 29:46Speaker 2: then it was temporarily given to Darlene. And a lot
- 29:48Speaker 2: of people thought she wouldn't actually run for it. And
- 29:51Speaker 2: she has. And I think a lot of people are
- 29:53Speaker 2: also debating her conservative credentials, whether or not she'll actually
- 29:57Speaker 2: do the job well, if she'll lean a certain way
- 30:00Speaker 2: on issues that Lindsey did not lean on. But the
- 30:03Speaker 2: president seems very happy about this. President Trump has been
- 30:06Speaker 2: celebrating and did celebrate on Truth Social the announcement that
- 30:10Speaker 2: Graham had won. Here we go.
- 30:13Speaker 7: The Associated Press just called the race. You may have
- 30:15Speaker 7: heard the cheers that erupted in the room just a
- 30:17Speaker 7: few seconds after 9 p.m. Darlene Graham by the Associated
- 30:20Speaker 7: Press declared the winner in this primary runoff against Congressman
- 30:23Speaker 7: Ralph Norman. This race closely watched, and it was close,
- 30:26Speaker 7: as the pundits were suggesting it was going to be.
- 30:29Speaker 7: I spoke to Darlene Graham's staff just as the polls
- 30:31Speaker 7: were closing, and they told me that they expected this
- 30:34Speaker 7: to be quite close.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think it's pretty easy to assume what's
- 30:37Speaker 2: happening here. President Trump has been advocating for Darlene Graham
- 30:41Speaker 2: the entire way. He's going to expect the same level
- 30:43Speaker 2: of loyalty that Lindsay had for him and the policies
- 30:47Speaker 2: and the things he wanted to get done and the
- 30:48Speaker 2: votes to go the way that they're going to go.
- 30:50Speaker 2: And as long as she does that, he'll probably be
- 30:52Speaker 2: pretty happy with her. Will a lot of other people
- 30:55Speaker 2: be happy with the decisions she makes? I'm not sure.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And will she actually do that? Will she actually follow
- 31:01Speaker 2: through and vote similarly to Lindsay on a wide variety
- 31:04Speaker 2: of issues? Here's the reason I think she will, by
- 31:07Speaker 2: the way. I think the legacy of the person that
- 31:10Speaker 2: you're replacing matters more to family than anyone else. And
- 31:14Speaker 2: if Darlene makes radically different decisions than the ones that
- 31:17Speaker 2: Lindsey Graham would have made, I think that she impacts
- 31:20Speaker 2: his legacy because of their close connection, their familial connection.
- 31:24Speaker 2: So I don't think she's really in a position where
- 31:27Speaker 2: she can do that because I doubt she wants to
- 31:29Speaker 2: hurt the legacy of her brother by being someone who
- 31:33Speaker 2: gets criticized for just being absolutely different in a lot
- 31:37Speaker 2: of that decision making. Even if she doesn't totally believe
- 31:40Speaker 2: or agree with some of the things she winds up
- 31:41Speaker 2: voting for, I think there's a chance she does it
- 31:44Speaker 2: because she asks herself right before she says yes or
- 31:47Speaker 2: no to a bill, what would Lindsay do? And then
- 31:49Speaker 2: she does the same thing more often than, say, other
- 31:53Speaker 2: politicians might who are much more content, I think, on
- 31:57Speaker 2: doing whatever they want for them and for them alone.
- 31:59Speaker 2: It's actually not a bad thing to have a politician
- 32:02Speaker 2: think of someone else when voting yes or no. A
- 32:05Speaker 2: lot of them should be thinking about you and me.
- 32:07Speaker 2: A lot of them who don't think about this at
- 32:09Speaker 2: all should wonder how it impacts their own constituents back home,
- 32:13Speaker 2: wherever they live. Of course, that's not actually in their brains.
- 32:16Speaker 2: But I think this is the next best step, in
- 32:19Speaker 2: my opinion. I want to play this. This is on
- 32:21Speaker 2: Chris Cuomo's show. This was a conversation with Turning Point
- 32:24Speaker 2: USA about whether or not 2028 would be fundamentally different if, say,
- 32:30Speaker 2: an AOC presidency for some reason somehow actually happened. This
- 32:35Speaker 2: is a crazy thing. for people to talk about. But
- 32:37Speaker 2: I do think it's interesting. Let's play a little bit
- 32:39Speaker 2: of this. The math does not math.
- 32:40Speaker 22: When you have open borders, which the Democrats are probably
- 32:43Speaker 22: going to- No open borders.
- 32:45Speaker 2: No open borders. And in fact, I bet you- You
- 32:47Speaker 2: feel confident about that?
- 32:48Speaker 22: If the Democrats, say it's 2028 and AOC wins the presidency,
- 32:52Speaker 22: do you think, or Ossoff or whoever, Mark Kelly, do
- 32:57Speaker 22: you think that the border is going to remain shut?
- 33:00Speaker 22: Or do you think there's going to be a massive
- 33:02Speaker 22: wave of immigrants that go, oh, Democrat in power.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go in. Let's get in. Absolutely. He's right
- 33:07Speaker 2: about that. And that, I think, is the whole point
- 33:09Speaker 2: of the show today for people to believe that switching
- 33:14Speaker 2: sides at a time when you're unhappy with something. And
- 33:16Speaker 2: if I'm to understand this, because here, you know what?
- 33:19Speaker 2: Let me do it this way. President Trump won every
- 33:22Speaker 2: swing state, right? President Trump won the popular vote. Correct. OK, good.
- 33:26Speaker 2: You're with me so far. So my belief was that
- 33:30Speaker 2: in 2024, a whole lot of people were pretty big
- 33:33Speaker 2: fans of the stuff that President Trump was promising. And
- 33:37Speaker 2: one of the only promises that has not been delivered
- 33:39Speaker 2: was a promise not to be in any sort of conflict.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But when I evaluate the conflict in Iran, what I
- 33:45Speaker 2: see is a need to actually fight people who fund
- 33:48Speaker 2: terrorism and are trying to get closer and closer to
- 33:51Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon and are demonstrating, by the way, exactly
- 33:55Speaker 2: why just letting things be as they were letting the
- 33:58Speaker 2: Obama deal sit and not doing anything different. They're demonstrating
- 34:02Speaker 2: how terrible of a plan that would be by how
- 34:05Speaker 2: much they lie, how many of these negotiations have gone
- 34:11Speaker 2: one way according to our team and a very different
- 34:14Speaker 2: way according to them. And when they're in the position
- 34:17Speaker 2: to actually sign a document that says they're going to
- 34:19Speaker 2: do all the stuff they agreed to verbally, they don't
- 34:22Speaker 2: sign it because they're not going to do it. And
- 34:24Speaker 2: even if they did sign a document at some point
- 34:26Speaker 2: with us, I think they've demonstrated they won't follow through
- 34:29Speaker 2: and actually do the things that we require them to do.
- 34:32Speaker 2: And so we are making different demands. I guess the
- 34:35Speaker 2: best way to say that is when it comes to Iran,
- 34:38Speaker 2: we are asking for them to prove that what they
- 34:40Speaker 2: agree to is what they actually do. And that's the
- 34:43Speaker 2: part they hate the most. And so when I evaluate
- 34:46Speaker 2: that conflict, I don't see it as a broken promise
- 34:48Speaker 2: by President Trump as much as I see it as
- 34:51Speaker 2: a thing that we needed to do, even if we
- 34:54Speaker 2: didn't want to do it, and that Trump has the
- 34:56Speaker 2: balls to do things like that when we don't want
- 34:59Speaker 2: to do them. That is what I believe to be
- 35:02Speaker 2: the case. That's what I believe to be the reason
- 35:04Speaker 2: for that decision. And some people can say, oh, you're
- 35:07Speaker 2: just a Trump fanboy. You're an over-the-top MAGA person.
- 35:10Speaker 20: No.
- 35:11Speaker 2: To yourself, think about whether or not it made sense
- 35:14Speaker 2: to allow Iran to keep barreling toward a nuclear weapon.
- 35:18Speaker 2: And if you come up with the answer no, then
- 35:20Speaker 2: you actually have to decide what you do. And I
- 35:22Speaker 2: guess this is actually the better point, too. to talk
- 35:25Speaker 2: about as far as this topic goes. I find this
- 35:28Speaker 2: to be the case a lot when I have conversations
- 35:31Speaker 2: with people about things they don't like that are happening
- 35:34Speaker 2: in the world. They can be in government. They can
- 35:37Speaker 2: be in your everyday life. They can be in any scenario.
- 35:39Speaker 2: You pick the situation, but anything. And often they'll tell
- 35:43Speaker 2: me what the problem is. And I'll look at them
- 35:45Speaker 2: and I'll listen to the problem. And whether there's someone
- 35:47Speaker 2: that I agree with or not, and I think that
- 35:49Speaker 2: maybe the problem isn't what they think it is, you
- 35:52Speaker 2: have to ask an important second question. Every time someone
- 35:56Speaker 2: tells you what's broken, you have to ask them, well,
- 35:59Speaker 2: how do you fix it? And that's where we actually
- 36:01Speaker 2: have the most disagreement. Most of us can agree that
- 36:05Speaker 2: this is broken, that this is bad over here, that
- 36:07Speaker 2: we need to do something better there. But how we
- 36:10Speaker 2: actually fix it is literally, I think, the entirety of
- 36:14Speaker 2: how one side, the left, gets so mad at the
- 36:16Speaker 2: right every time they scream and yell something and don't
- 36:20Speaker 2: actually offer a plan. It's it reminds me very often
- 36:24Speaker 2: of when Kamala Harris was being asked during the campaign
- 36:28Speaker 2: that she profoundly lost to Trump, where the country showed
- 36:31Speaker 2: itself to like a lot of the things that he
- 36:33Speaker 2: was saying, that she didn't have a lot of policies.
- 36:36Speaker 2: It didn't have a lot of decisions and answers to questions,
- 36:39Speaker 2: because if they do tell us what they want to do,
- 36:42Speaker 2: it's radically to the left and it'll harm our country more.
- 36:46Speaker 2: And so that's sort of the reason why they keep
- 36:47Speaker 2: some of that stuff a secret. They keep it behind
- 36:50Speaker 2: closed doors. Because they want to motivate you to vote
- 36:53Speaker 2: based on emotion and based solely on just what you
- 36:56Speaker 2: think is broken. And then the idea that they'll fix it,
- 37:00Speaker 2: not the reality that they will. So to go back
- 37:02Speaker 2: to the Turning Point USA discussion, if 2028 somehow goes
- 37:07Speaker 2: to the Democrats, of course the borders open again. And
- 37:10Speaker 2: the biggest reason why, actually the biggest salvo in the
- 37:14Speaker 2: entirety of this discussion about how we protect this state
- 37:18Speaker 2: and this country is, is to have a Republican win Texas.
- 37:22Speaker 2: And I'll tell you exactly why. Because if it doesn't happen,
- 37:26Speaker 2: the left will think that the open border policy was
- 37:30Speaker 2: used to flood people into this state, not just this country,
- 37:33Speaker 2: that then absolutely overwhelmingly voted for them and allowed a
- 37:38Speaker 2: state that was deeply red and assumed to be not
- 37:40Speaker 2: a state where a contest would happen, to be a
- 37:43Speaker 2: state where we have a close race. If that works,
- 37:46Speaker 2: they will do more of it, not less of it.
- 37:49Speaker 2: We're up against a break in just a couple minutes,
- 37:51Speaker 2: so I'll take a call first, and then we'll get
- 37:53Speaker 2: to that break. John, you called into the KCV morning show.
- 37:56Speaker 2: What do you want to say?
- 37:58Speaker 8: I want to go back, if you don't mind, Craig,
- 38:00Speaker 8: to your comment about whether Donald Trump lied about Iran
- 38:04Speaker 8: and whether he was justified in attacking.
- 38:08Speaker 14: Sure.
- 38:09Speaker 8: What changed with respect to Iran's nuclear program.
- 38:15Speaker 16: From the time that he said he would never.
- 38:17Speaker 8: Attack Iran and attacking Iran was stupid, until the time
- 38:21Speaker 8: he actually did what he said he wouldn't do.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe that they got closer and closer to,
- 38:28Speaker 2: and they intended to create a nuclear weapon. That's what changed.
- 38:32Speaker 8: What is your basis for that belief?
- 38:35Speaker 2: Well, they were enriching uranium up to one stage just before,
- 38:40Speaker 2: you know, the stage in which it becomes a nuclear weapon,
- 38:42Speaker 2: and they were continuing to I mean, the reason that
- 38:45Speaker 2: we bombed a year ago a facility in which they
- 38:49Speaker 2: were creating nuclear power is because we thought they were
- 38:52Speaker 2: trying to create a nuclear weapon. And that was not
- 38:55Speaker 2: a solely American belief. But are you going to tell
- 38:58Speaker 2: me you believe the opposite?
- 39:01Speaker 8: I'm going to tell you that I don't believe that
- 39:04Speaker 8: the amount of enriched uranium that Iran possessed changed from
- 39:10Speaker 8: the time that Donald Trump made that promise. Until the
- 39:14Speaker 8: time that he attacked Iran.
- 39:16Speaker 2: OK, that's that's a very blanket statement first, John. And
- 39:18Speaker 2: I'm going to ask you two things in response to it. First,
- 39:21Speaker 2: do you think that they enrich that uranium to a
- 39:23Speaker 2: higher quality to get it closer to weapons grade, um
- 39:28Speaker 2: you know 90 enrichment which they were doing they absolutely
- 39:31Speaker 2: were doing more and more of that their uranium was
- 39:33Speaker 2: getting closer and closer to being useful because you do
- 39:35Speaker 2: understand that part too right the quality to which you
- 39:38Speaker 2: enrich uranium gets it closer and closer to being to
- 39:41Speaker 2: a uh uh you know weapon itself we agree on
- 39:45Speaker 2: that i did okay So they were doing more of that.
- 39:48Speaker 8: I do understand.
- 39:48Speaker 2: So they were doing more of that.
- 39:50Speaker 24: Go ahead.
- 39:52Speaker 16: I do understand that.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:53Speaker 2: So they were doing more of that. They were getting
- 39:54Speaker 2: closer and closer to having an amount of uranium that's
- 39:57Speaker 2: valuable as a nuclear weapon that was larger than it
- 39:59Speaker 2: was before. They were also continuing to research nuclear weapons
- 40:02Speaker 2: in a way that Obama said they weren't allowed to.
- 40:04Speaker 2: They just kept doing it. But here's the better point.
- 40:08Speaker 2: When you say, what do I.
- 40:09Speaker 8: May I push back on that?
- 40:11Speaker 16: I don't agree with that.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 40:13Speaker 16: I do agree with you that you had to.
- 40:15Speaker 8: Have uranium of a certain missile purity, I don't agree
- 40:22Speaker 8: that there's any evidence that Iran was making more such uranium.
- 40:28Speaker 8: I don't believe there's any evidence that you possess or
- 40:31Speaker 8: I possess.
- 40:31Speaker 2: What makes you believe that? What evidence are you using
- 40:34Speaker 2: to believe that?
- 40:36Speaker 16: Because the Iranians were.
- 40:39Speaker 8: Under an inspection regime by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
- 40:45Speaker 8: And that agency provided its findings as to how much
- 40:51Speaker 8: of such fissile material Iran possessed.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Okay, so you don't think there's any way that somehow
- 40:57Speaker 2: in some way Iran was trying to skirt those inspections
- 41:01Speaker 2: and requirements? And let's do this more simplistically, because I
- 41:05Speaker 2: think there's a more valuable simplistic discussion here. Do you
- 41:08Speaker 2: think Iran wants to make a nuclear weapon?
- 41:13Speaker 8: I think it may now. I don't think it did
- 41:16Speaker 8: prior to the assassination of.
- 41:19Speaker 16: The Ayatollah, who had issued.
- 41:20Speaker 8: A fatwa declaring that nuclear weapons were immoral and against Islam.
- 41:27Speaker 8: If I were Iran, I would try to develop a
- 41:29Speaker 8: nuclear weapon as a matter of self-preservation.
- 41:32Speaker 2: And you'd do that because of Trump. You'd blame Trump
- 41:35Speaker 2: for that.
- 41:38Speaker 8: I blame Trump for violating the Constitution and attacking another
- 41:42Speaker 8: country without just pause.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Did Obama violate the Constitution when he attacked Libya? Yes. Okay,
- 41:52Speaker 2: so you're a blanket across the board that no president
- 41:54Speaker 2: is allowed to act as a commander-in-chief of the military,
- 41:57Speaker 2: even though they absolutely are, and they're allowed to conflict
- 42:00Speaker 2: with someone else long before we actually call it a
- 42:02Speaker 2: war in Congress. You think that every president should ask
- 42:05Speaker 2: for every military action to be approved by Congress?
- 42:10Speaker 8: Not every military action. Every president, in fact, every commander
- 42:14Speaker 8: in the military is entitled to act in self-defense to
- 42:18Speaker 8: repel a sudden attack. But I do believe that all
- 42:24Speaker 8: presidents are bound by the Constitution, don't you?
- 42:26Speaker 2: I do believe that all presidents are bound by the Constitution,
- 42:29Speaker 2: but we have a different interpretation of what the commander-in-chief
- 42:31Speaker 2: is allowed to do with our military than And when
- 42:33Speaker 2: something is actually a war as, you know, anointed one
- 42:37Speaker 2: by Congress and a conflict that the United States is
- 42:40Speaker 2: choosing to do for exactly the reason you just said,
- 42:43Speaker 2: protecting ourselves. Protecting ourselves isn't just shooting a missile down
- 42:46Speaker 2: that's fired toward our country. Protecting ourselves is preventing someone
- 42:49Speaker 2: from inevitably firing a missile toward our country that might
- 42:52Speaker 2: blow up all of New York. There's a very big
- 42:55Speaker 2: difference between saying that we can protect ourselves and then
- 42:58Speaker 2: you determining what that looks like because you and I
- 43:01Speaker 2: are not actually the presidents.
- 43:02Speaker 24: He is.
- 43:03Speaker 2: And his justification for attacking Iran, just like anyone else's
- 43:07Speaker 2: justification for any fight they they create, is self-preservation at
- 43:12Speaker 2: the end.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Of the day.
- 43:13Speaker 2: That is what they say. Whether you believe it or not,
- 43:16Speaker 2: I don't really care. So it makes their action justified
- 43:19Speaker 2: within the Constitution.
- 43:20Speaker 8: If you don't if you don't care what.
- 43:23Speaker 5: You know, you're you're.
- 43:25Speaker 2: No, I don't care. I don't care if you believe
- 43:26Speaker 2: or not.
- 43:28Speaker 16: If you don't carry your partner, thanks for the conversation.
- 43:30Speaker 8: What is the point of the conversation? Well, you're not open.
- 43:32Speaker 2: To be waited.
- 43:34Speaker 6: Hold on.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Hold on, John. I didn't say I didn't care about
- 43:38Speaker 2: anything that you were saying. I didn't care about whether
- 43:40Speaker 2: or not you believed that Trump was telling the truth
- 43:43Speaker 2: when he said that he was fighting to protect our
- 43:45Speaker 2: country by attacking Iran in the first place. Because it's
- 43:49Speaker 2: not up for you and I to determine that. It's
- 43:51Speaker 2: not actually intent to offend you. That statement, that statement.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And I've respected a lot of the other things you said,
- 43:56Speaker 2: even though I disagree with them. But we don't get
- 44:00Speaker 2: to decide whether or not Trump did this for the
- 44:02Speaker 2: right reasons. If people think he didn't, there's a whole
- 44:04Speaker 2: process for how you go ahead and try to get
- 44:06Speaker 2: him in trouble for that. And that's not occurring. Because
- 44:10Speaker 2: they can't really do that anyway. And so when you
- 44:12Speaker 2: say out loud that he didn't follow the Constitution, I
- 44:15Speaker 2: fundamentally disagree with you. And I think I mapped out
- 44:18Speaker 2: how he didn't how he did, in fact, follow the
- 44:21Speaker 2: rights to the Constitution and how he acted, in his opinion,
- 44:24Speaker 2: in a way to defend our country. Did you have
- 44:27Speaker 2: a what.
- 44:28Speaker 16: Is your interpretation of Congress's war powers? When it says
- 44:32Speaker 16: in the.
- 44:32Speaker 8: Constitution that Congress and only Congress has the power to
- 44:36Speaker 8: declare war, what does that mean to you?
- 44:39Speaker 2: What type of fight are we having with Iran right now?
- 44:43Speaker 2: Do you think it has to be classified.
- 44:44Speaker 15: As a war?
- 44:47Speaker 16: It is a war.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I mean that genuinely. Do we have boots on the ground?
- 44:53Speaker 8: No, we don't have to have boots on the ground
- 44:54Speaker 8: to have a war. That's ridiculous.
- 44:56Speaker 2: It's not. What I mean is in a strike and
- 44:59Speaker 2: an attack at first and how long Obama fought in
- 45:02Speaker 2: Libya or anywhere else, all of those things that the
- 45:04Speaker 2: president does, they don't actually legally in the world of
- 45:07Speaker 2: our government call them the thing that Congress has to approve.
- 45:11Speaker 2: They call them conflicts and strikes. And then there was
- 45:13Speaker 2: a ceasefire because within a certain amount of time, if
- 45:16Speaker 2: the ceasefire didn't exist, there might have been a need
- 45:19Speaker 2: for Congress to act. But that went away. When the
- 45:21Speaker 2: ceasefire occurred and then there's another military campaign, there's other
- 45:25Speaker 2: words to choose for this, John, because that's how he's
- 45:29Speaker 2: not in trouble. Like if Trump had actually skirted the
- 45:33Speaker 2: Constitution the way you seem to perceive him to have
- 45:36Speaker 2: doing have done it. Don't you think Democrats would be
- 45:38Speaker 2: trying to impeach him right now? They're not. Why are
- 45:42Speaker 2: they not trying to impeach him, John?
- 45:43Speaker 8: Because they wish to preserve for themselves.
- 45:47Speaker 16: The power, when their.
- 45:48Speaker 8: Man is back in office, to act unilaterally as well.
- 45:52Speaker 8: The Democrats are just as evil as the Republicans when
- 45:56Speaker 8: it comes to launching force of aggression against other countries.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I agree with that. Tell me politically, do you think
- 46:03Speaker 2: that you're an independent? Do you think you're on the
- 46:05Speaker 2: right or the left? Where are you?
- 46:08Speaker 8: I don't believe in that left-right continual.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Okay, so how do you describe yourself politically? I'm just curious.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Do you describe yourself as America first? Were you a
- 46:15Speaker 2: big fan of Salcedo's show?
- 46:18Speaker 8: Oh, yes, I was a big fan of the Salcedo show,
- 46:21Speaker 8: but I'm not– I wouldn't describe myself as American first.
- 46:25Speaker 8: Chris actually asked me this question, and I said I'm
- 46:28Speaker 8: an anarchist.
- 46:29Speaker 23: Okay.
- 46:30Speaker 6: Okay.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Anarchist. That's fine.
- 46:33Speaker 16: Why do you find that funny?
- 46:34Speaker 8: The reason you laugh is because you don't know what
- 46:37Speaker 8: anarchy means. What do you think anarchy means?
- 46:39Speaker 2: No, that's not the reason I laugh.
- 46:42Speaker 16: What do you think anarchy means?
- 46:43Speaker 2: What do you think the solutions to certain things are
- 46:49Speaker 2: in our world via your political belief?
- 46:53Speaker 8: To get rid of states.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Right, to just get rid of the government entirely, right?
- 46:57Speaker 2: Because that's what anarchy means.
- 46:59Speaker 16: To get rid of all states.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Anarchy means to abolish government and to get rid of
- 47:03Speaker 2: a whole lot of things.
- 47:05Speaker 8: Anarchy means to live without a ruler. Anarchy. Without anarchy
- 47:11Speaker 8: and a ruler.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Without ruler.
- 47:13Speaker 8: That's what it means.
- 47:14Speaker 2: I get it. Our definitions are the same in the
- 47:17Speaker 2: world in which we currently live, where we have a
- 47:18Speaker 2: government that chooses for us what to do. I got
- 47:21Speaker 2: a bump plan, which I think we went way past
- 47:23Speaker 2: where the break was supposed to be. But when all
- 47:26Speaker 2: that happens, if all government, all that goes away, John,
- 47:28Speaker 2: what do you think happens next? Everybody lives in utopia?
- 47:32Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 8: There will never be a perfect world. Okay.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Well, your world is uniquely messy. Thank you so much
- 47:39Speaker 2: for the call, John. I appreciate it. I do think
- 47:43Speaker 2: that you're making some judgment calls that you seem to
- 47:45Speaker 2: accuse me of based on belief and not hardcore facts,
- 47:49Speaker 2: because neither of us really know behind closed doors what
- 47:52Speaker 2: our government actually knew about Iran and its proximity to
- 47:55Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon. Neither of us definitively knows that because,
- 47:58Speaker 2: darn it, they're never going to tell us that. So
- 48:01Speaker 2: we're both going to make a belief I've made a
- 48:03Speaker 2: different decision than you. Quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins,
- 48:06Speaker 2: KSEV Mornings. Lots and lots to get here.

- 50:11Speaker 2: Tune in this Saturday at 2 p.m. KSEV mornings, 700 a.m.,
- 50:25Speaker 2: the voice of Texas. My name is Craig Collins filling in.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Thrilled to be with you. A bunch of stuff to
- 50:31Speaker 2: talk about. I love John's call from before because he
- 50:34Speaker 2: said he likes the Constitution, even though the Constitution created
- 50:38Speaker 2: authority and power that he doesn't like because the Constitution
- 50:42Speaker 2: did create the government that he would like to completely obliterate.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I would like to just go back to the way
- 50:47Speaker 2: it was designed to be, which sadly it is not
- 50:50Speaker 2: any longer the because I think that that version of
- 50:52Speaker 2: government is much better than anarchy, where people are just
- 50:56Speaker 2: supposed to be nice to one another because. And human
- 51:00Speaker 2: beings who don't do that are just being mean and
- 51:02Speaker 2: then eventually doing other horrible stuff. That's essentially the overarching
- 51:08Speaker 2: message for him. And he would absolutely hate police if
- 51:11Speaker 2: he truly describes himself as an anarchist, because he hates
- 51:14Speaker 2: all power, all authority. He'd hate his own boss, which
- 51:17Speaker 2: is sort of funny to me. I'd hate to have
- 51:19Speaker 2: John as an employee. He's walking around saying that. Let's
- 51:21Speaker 2: get to Oscar real quick, who called in. He wanted
- 51:24Speaker 2: to make a comment about the last caller. Oscar, what
- 51:26Speaker 2: did you want to say?
- 51:28Speaker 5: OK, good morning. I'm a registered libertarian.
- 51:32Speaker 1: All right. All right.
- 51:33Speaker 5: But I I pretty much abandoned that party about 10
- 51:36Speaker 5: years ago because of people like John. And the reason is, well,
- 51:40Speaker 5: let me let me tell you what I learned about this.
- 51:42Speaker 5: I actually ran and you can look at it. It's
- 51:46Speaker 5: still on the records. I ran as a paper candidate
- 51:51Speaker 5: to make sure that we're on the ballot. I think
- 51:53Speaker 5: it was 2014 and 2012 here in Texas.
- 51:57Speaker 2: You're going to have to give me your last name, Oscar,
- 52:00Speaker 2: for me to do that.
- 52:00Speaker 20: Oh, yeah.
- 52:01Speaker 12: Palm.
- 52:01Speaker 5: I do or don't.
- 52:02Speaker 2: No, you do if you don't mind.
- 52:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:05Speaker 5: It's P-A-L-M-A.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Thank you, sir. Continue.
- 52:10Speaker 5: And so what the deal is, they're ideologues. In other words,
- 52:17Speaker 5: they're just like Marxists, just on the other end of
- 52:22Speaker 5: the spectrum. Again, he's going to say that he's neither
- 52:26Speaker 5: left or right. I understand that, and that's very important, actually.
- 52:30Speaker 5: But what happens is he's not looking at the classical
- 52:33Speaker 5: liberals that founded the United States. They believed in ideas
- 52:40Speaker 5: that we all embrace, but what they weren't was naïve.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Naivete is believing that everybody around you is a good person.
- 52:48Speaker 2: So great.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Which is not true.
- 52:50Speaker 2: It's not true.
- 52:51Speaker 5: So if you think back of what Jefferson had to do,
- 52:53Speaker 5: and I'll say it real quick, because I know nobody
- 52:54Speaker 5: wants to listen to it. Jefferson had to act as
- 52:57Speaker 5: commander in chief against the Muslims that were imprisoning and
- 53:01Speaker 5: enslaving American sailors to the point that he had to
- 53:05Speaker 5: go to war.
- 53:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 53:06Speaker 13: Okay.
- 53:07Speaker 5: And so he did it without Congress congressional approval. The
- 53:11Speaker 5: ships were already on the way when Congress approved it.
- 53:14Speaker 5: So he's not understanding things like tariffs. The whole world
- 53:19Speaker 5: lived on tariffs until 1913 in the United States.
- 53:22Speaker 6: They did.
- 53:23Speaker 5: So this is not, you know, so they're ideologues is
- 53:25Speaker 5: what I'm saying. You can't argue with them. You can't
- 53:28Speaker 5: argue with a communist.
- 53:30Speaker 2: I did notice it was trying to argue with a
- 53:31Speaker 2: communist because, yes, you can't argue with them. And they're
- 53:33Speaker 2: very simplistic in their belief system. And overly, you know,
- 53:37Speaker 2: I think trying to make it the kind of thing
- 53:40Speaker 2: that's simple. All government, all states, everything goes away. We
- 53:43Speaker 2: all live in harmony. And then, as you and I said,
- 53:45Speaker 2: we know the chaos that would be caused by that
- 53:48Speaker 2: because people, given that ability, would do horrible things. I
- 53:52Speaker 2: really thank you for the call.
- 53:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:55Speaker 2: All right. We've got to take a break. The second
- 53:57Speaker 2: hour of the show is coming up. John is fine
- 53:59Speaker 2: to me. He can keep calling in, keep being a
- 54:01Speaker 2: part of the show. I'm not trying to. to ban anybody,
- 54:04Speaker 2: and if you disagree with me, you can jump in.
- 54:06Speaker 2: But if you want to attack and say things like,
- 54:09Speaker 2: define this term, or tell me why you believe that,
- 54:12Speaker 2: and if I flip it and you can't do any
- 54:14Speaker 2: better than me in what you're accusing me of, then
- 54:16Speaker 2: I think both of us are making our own decisions
- 54:19Speaker 2: with the information we both have, and neither one of
- 54:22Speaker 2: us has any sort of deeper understanding of what's actually
- 54:25Speaker 2: going on. Because sometimes, this is just me saying this
- 54:27Speaker 2: before the break, you have to do that. Quick break,
- 54:30Speaker 2: a lot more, KSV Mornings, Craig Collins.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Thank you.
