- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so They were talking about
- 0:31congruence. What do I mean?
- 0:34When I say, congruence and reference to mindset and self
- 0:39development and personal growth and all that good stuff?
- 0:43Well, being congruent is hard means, whatever you believe
- 0:47about yourself or whatever you are saying about yourself, you
- 0:50have to actually act into being congruent, meaning everything
- 0:55aligns and as human beings. It is a very, very hard thing to
- 0:59do. We often say things about
- 1:02ourselves but they are just not reality of what happens.
- 1:06We will put things out there and we will pretend that we are
- 1:09something that we are not will say they we work out all the
- 1:12time but we don't do it. We talked about how we eat only
- 1:17healthy foods but then we stuck a bunch of things in our mouths
- 1:20that are not healthy. We talked about the fact that we
- 1:23like to study and do things and that are part of our self growth
- 1:30but then we Outdo them, these are incongruencies, the words
- 1:33that come out of our mouths, don't match the actions that we
- 1:36take and often. The way this becomes such a huge
- 1:41problem for us. Overall is the fact that it adds
- 1:45up over time we start to get very aware of the fact that we
- 1:49are not where we want to be. And before you know it it
- 1:53escapes you and you are way down a path and it's kind of like
- 1:57when you're on vacation and this is a great example.
- 2:00Apple for me because I just came back from a little vacation was
- 2:03staycation really but just a time where we were here enjoying
- 2:06ourselves and our life and You know, he's just not worrying
- 2:11about what you're eating. And I'm normally very focused on
- 2:14eating healthy foods and doing things the right way.
- 2:16And we're here, we are in this little staycation and I'm not
- 2:19paying attention to it at all and I'm eating and then before,
- 2:23you know it, you know, I'm thinking oh I'm healthy I'm
- 2:25doing all these things. I'm just taking a little break
- 2:28for my vacation and then you know, but I'm still thinking of
- 2:31myself that I'm healthy and I'm doing all the healthy things.
- 2:34Really not paying attention though.
- 2:35And before, you know it, I gained four pounds and I'm like
- 2:38how That I gained four pounds on vacation.
- 2:40This isn't even funny but it's just a great example to show you
- 2:44how quickly it adds up those little pounds, those little Oz,
- 2:47boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, they add right up and before,
- 2:50you know, it, you're not where you want to be.
- 2:52Well, that's the thing about being congruent, it works both
- 2:55ways. So, if you're super congruent in
- 2:57a positive way, things start to stack up.
- 3:00And if you're super incongruent in a negative way, things start
- 3:03to stack up. So how do you fix that?
- 3:06Well, the first thing you have to do is to the Inventory of, am
- 3:09I being congruent are my words matching?
- 3:12What I am acting into every single day are my actions being
- 3:17congruent with the things that I believe about myself.
- 3:20And this comes back to our, you know, age-old conversation about
- 3:25being blatantly honest, with ourselves, and trying to
- 3:29recognize that we often lie to ourselves, and we skirt the
- 3:34truth, and we stretch the truth, and we bend the truth, but the
- 3:37reality is were lying to ourselves.
- 3:39So you have to pause and say, okay, well, where am I
- 3:42congruent? And where am I in congruent?
- 3:45Once you have that little inventory and an honest
- 3:48inventory, not just a limited inventory, it's got to be an
- 3:53honest inventory. You have to, then from there, go
- 3:57to the next level of saying. Okay, how do I improve my
- 4:01consistency and my congruence? What are the things that I can
- 4:04do to improve that? What are the things that I can
- 4:07do to make myself? Feel more congruent and to act
- 4:11more congruent and to become more congruent because it's all,
- 4:14it's all a big mesh of it. How you feel when you feel
- 4:17congruent you want to stay congruence?
- 4:19Like once you're on a path, you want to continue on that path.
- 4:22So once you start looking at it and observing it, you can pull
- 4:28habits that will make you more congruent.
- 4:31So picking certain times of the day to do things like me doing
- 4:34this every morning. That's a, it's a great example.
- 4:39Or sometimes, you know, it can be something as simple as like,
- 4:43you know, okay, I can tie something one thing to another
- 4:45to increase my congruence. So if I want to do mantras every
- 4:49morning, if I want to focus on my goals every morning, I can
- 4:51tie that to something. I'm very congruent with, which
- 4:53is brushing my teeth, or maybe you go for a walk every day.
- 4:57Maybe you have a dog and you walk your dog every day.
- 4:59And during that walk, you can listen to yourself development
- 5:03every day, whatever it might be, you can try to link things
- 5:06together and that really helps in the process.
- 5:08Of create creating the congruence.
- 5:11But the most important thing is to recognize where you are in
- 5:14congruent first, so that you can fix it.
- 5:17So, that's your assignment today, look for your
- 5:19incongruencies, look, for the places that you need to improve
- 5:23so that you can tie them, tether them to other things where you
- 5:26are congruent and fix it. And be honest with yourself
- 5:30about where are the incongruencies need to be
- 5:33attacked and and shifted and I hope you guys have a very
- 5:38blessed day. Day looking for all of it and I
- 5:40will see you tomorrow. Bye.
