• 0:13
Speaker 2: I'm here with Joan Vassos. Is that how you pronounce
• 0:17
Speaker 2: your name? I've never even said it out loud?
• 0:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, you did it perfectly. Funny, you do it perfectly.
• 0:21
Speaker 3: It is that's funny. We don't do you know.
• 0:24
Speaker 2: I'm like, that's so random. And Gabby, we are here
• 0:29
Speaker 2: for Dirty Rush and we're so excited, and of course
• 0:31
Speaker 2: we're in Tahoe. We were talking about how much fun
• 0:34
Speaker 2: it is to do these events. Have you done other
• 0:37
Speaker 2: iHeart events for us?
• 0:39
Speaker 4: I went to jingle Ball okay, yes, in La which
• 0:42
Speaker 4: was so fun. But that is the only other iHeart
• 0:45
Speaker 4: event and I am loving it here. I've never been
• 0:47
Speaker 4: to Tahoe and I'm like, this is insane.
• 0:50
Speaker 3: Isn't the most beautiful?
• 0:50
Speaker 2: If I want to move here, I'm like on zillow,
• 0:52
Speaker 2: you know, just like you or my husband, I guarantee
• 0:55
Speaker 2: you every probably over place I go to.
• 0:57
Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, this one looks nice.
• 0:58
  Speaker 3: Five million dollars.
• 1:00
Speaker 6: I spent every vacation of my entire life with my
• 1:03
Speaker 6: late husband, him deciding that we had to buy a place, and.
• 1:07
  Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.
• 1:08
Speaker 5: I'm not sending it to my fiance.
• 1:09
Speaker 4: I'm like, we could live here, you know, we just
• 1:12
Speaker 4: got a house, but like, what about this one?
• 1:14
Speaker 2: Yeah? I love it. I love it. Yes, Tahoe is amazing.
• 1:19
Speaker 2: So thank you for coming. I know we talked a
• 1:23
Speaker 2: little bit about pickleball and you don't know a lot
• 1:27
Speaker 2: about it, but I'm here to help.
• 1:29
Speaker 5: Thank you so much. You're such a giver.
• 1:32
Speaker 3: She's just recruiting people to be in her. In her
• 1:36
  Speaker 3: I don't want to.
• 1:37
Speaker 2: Get her to do it to you.
• 1:38
Speaker 4: I want to get into it, but like I need
• 1:40
Speaker 4: to take a lesson. I actually know what's going on.
• 1:44
Speaker 4: I just need to know, like the lingo and the roles,
• 1:47
  Speaker 4: and then.
• 1:47
Speaker 5: I feel like, okay, it's just probably.
• 1:49
Speaker 3: You have long legs. You look like an athlete.
• 1:52
Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
• 1:53
Speaker 3: I want you on my team.
• 1:53
Speaker 5: I do plates you.
• 1:57
Speaker 3: Because I'm not going to be that good. Just pre
• 1:59
  Speaker 3: warning you.
• 2:00
Speaker 2: Oh all right, back to dirty Rush. So we're going
• 2:03
Speaker 2: to go through schools that we went to. Where were
• 2:07
  Speaker 2: you in college?
• 2:08
Speaker 5: I went to Ole Miss Oh, so craziest rush place. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 2:15
  Speaker 5: it was wild.
• 2:17
Speaker 2: And when did you graduate?
• 2:18
Speaker 4: I graduated in twenty nineteen, so kind of before all
• 2:21
  Speaker 4: the like TikTok.
• 2:22
Speaker 3: Stuff happened, dancing, the matching outfits and all that.
• 2:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, and before like the whole like documentary came out
• 2:31
  Speaker 4: about Bama Rush.
• 2:32
Speaker 5: I like was right before that. Yeah, experienced it before
• 2:36
Speaker 5: you went oh no, no no.
• 2:38
Speaker 4: I was, like I graduated right before all graduated like
• 2:41
Speaker 4: started becoming like such a social media craze, which I'm
• 2:46
Speaker 4: kind of glad because I was just gonna ask you, Yeah,
• 2:49
Speaker 4: I think it would have been too much ole Miss.
• 2:50
Speaker 4: I mean, the girls do not mess around. You guys
• 2:53
Speaker 4: have probably seen like game day outfits. Ole Miss is
• 2:56
Speaker 4: like next level girls being.
• 2:59
Speaker 5: Extra yeah in the best way. Yeah, And I love
• 3:02
  Speaker 5: that for them.
• 3:03
Speaker 6: But I love it how people dress up for the
• 3:05
Speaker 6: games and they make it. They make the Saturday is
• 3:08
Speaker 6: like an event every Saturday during football completely it's it
• 3:11
Speaker 6: is and and the sororities and fraternities are like such
• 3:13
Speaker 6: a big part of it. They are they're not athletes,
• 3:15
Speaker 6: but they are as big as you know, for the
• 3:18
Speaker 6: football day, as any as the players are.
• 3:20
Speaker 4: I mean, those are like the tenths you go to
• 3:22
Speaker 4: so you like always have a little home to go
• 3:24
Speaker 4: to that has food and everything you need except alcohol,
• 3:28
Speaker 4: So you got to go to the frat tents for that,
• 3:31
Speaker 4: but you know where to find out.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: So I went to Indiana graduated in ninety one five,
• 3:41
Speaker 2: graduating ninety five, and I was an alpha kai. What
• 3:44
Speaker 2: were you? I was a pie fi Okay, amazing. I'm
• 3:46
Speaker 2: going to write you down for my letters of recommendation
• 3:48
Speaker 2: for my daughter. I'm just kidding. I just wrote down Joan.
• 3:55
Speaker 2: But I she might be going through it next year
• 3:59
Speaker 2: because she's going next year. We don't know she's saying
• 4:02
  Speaker 2: in high school.
• 4:02
Speaker 5: It's just saying okay o exciting.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: So I'm kind of right kind of reliving all of
• 4:08
Speaker 2: this through her a little bit.
• 4:11
Speaker 3: I'm getting nervous right now because it's a lot of pressure.
• 4:14
  Speaker 5: It's so much.
• 4:16
  Speaker 4: I went and I'm from Vermont, and I didn't know
• 4:19
Speaker 4: like how sororities and fraternities were, and I knew rush
• 4:23
Speaker 4: was going to be a big thing, but I didn't
• 4:25
Speaker 4: know all of the stuff that went into it, so
• 4:27
Speaker 4: I didn't have recommendation letters like I remember emailing people
• 4:31
Speaker 4: desperately like before I went, like please write me a wreck,
• 4:34
Speaker 4: Like here's my resume and I'm a good person.
• 4:37
  Speaker 5: Here's a picture of me.
• 4:39
  Speaker 2: And I didn't I didn't get a lot.
• 4:41
Speaker 5: So it's like really hard to.
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: Know.
• 4:45
Speaker 5: They're like, oh, you know legacy, Sorry, I can't help.
• 4:49
Speaker 4: I mean it's legacies, like the top houses are you
• 4:55
Speaker 4: really have to be a legacy or you have to know.
• 4:57
Speaker 5: People when all the top houses you would.
• 4:59
Speaker 4: Say, it's Katie, Ti, Dell, and Kyo. Those are like
• 5:04
Speaker 4: the three top houses and Katie is like where like
• 5:07
Speaker 4: Leanne Touey went. That's that's her sorority.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: So it was kind of crazy, is that sorry? The
• 5:14
Speaker 2: blind Side No, the movie football Player, that is the mother.
• 5:20
Speaker 2: The mother is Tety and so she was like a
• 5:23
  Speaker 2: huge donor.
• 5:24
  Speaker 5: And like like.
• 5:25
Speaker 4: When we would go through Rush, they put in like
• 5:27
Speaker 4: very strict parameters, like the second year I was there,
• 5:31
Speaker 4: so you couldn't do like there used to be a
• 5:33
Speaker 4: skit round where you would do like these crazy fun skits.
• 5:36
Speaker 4: They took that out because they wanted to be like
• 5:38
Speaker 4: a more even playing field and they made us wear
• 5:40
Speaker 4: like specific T shirts. You could only wear the T
• 5:42
Speaker 4: shirts until like Sisterhood and then you could or pref
• 5:46
Speaker 4: and you could wear a dress, but.
• 5:49
Speaker 5: Show no, they get.
• 5:52
Speaker 4: Fined, like big fines, like fifty thousand dollars like fines,
• 5:55
Speaker 4: and she would pay.
• 5:56
Speaker 2: It a thousand dollars fines.
• 6:01
  Speaker 4: I didn't know. I don't know how much it was,
• 6:02
Speaker 4: but it was rumored that, like because they would wear
• 6:05
Speaker 4: like light up shoes and that's against the rules, like
• 6:07
Speaker 4: because you can't like try to like waite for adults.
• 6:10
Speaker 4: Like yeah, like they would like so we would have
• 6:12
Speaker 4: to do the chance right and they'd be doing the
• 6:14
Speaker 4: chants with their feet and they would be like in
• 6:16
  Speaker 4: light up shoes.
• 6:18
  Speaker 5: It was crazy.
• 6:18
Speaker 4: Russia Ole miss was so insane. And when you were
• 6:21
Speaker 4: the one like putting it on like our people, I
• 6:24
Speaker 4: also don't know I'm allowed to say, but whatever, they
• 6:26
Speaker 4: can come for me. They would go to the top
• 6:29
Speaker 4: of the street and they would have us in the
• 6:32
Speaker 4: house and if they could not hear us screaming at
• 6:34
Speaker 4: the top of the street with the door shut.
• 6:36
Speaker 5: Then we had to keep doing it and keep doing it.
• 6:39
  Speaker 2: My lord.
• 6:42
  Speaker 3: We loved.
• 6:42
Speaker 5: We had so much fun. I mean, was like the
• 6:45
  Speaker 5: best week.
• 6:46
Speaker 4: It is like, well, so you do like rush prep
• 6:49
Speaker 4: week and you go the week before school and you
• 6:51
Speaker 4: have all themed days and that's when you really got screaming.
• 6:55
Speaker 4: But Rush nights you would be up all night, like
• 6:58
Speaker 4: you'd be at the sorority house to.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: Like, Yes, it's such a bonding time truly, and they
• 7:03
Speaker 2: always put it right at like midterms. Yeah.
• 7:06
Speaker 4: I was like, this is perfect because OLMOS is one
• 7:08
Speaker 4: of the only schools and it doesn't.
• 7:10
Speaker 5: Rush before I went there.
• 7:13
Speaker 4: Yeah, so that apparently it's like for girls who like
• 7:16
Speaker 4: try to transfer something if they don't get this, I
• 7:20
Speaker 4: don't know there is leasing to it.
• 7:21
Speaker 2: Now I'm questioning myself if Indiana did. My brain doesn't
• 7:24
Speaker 2: work very well these days. But yes, that's that's crazy crazy. Yeah,
• 7:29
Speaker 2: oh my gosh. I love all these crazy stories. No,
• 7:32
Speaker 2: it's so many because I also don't remember so much
• 7:35
Speaker 2: of my experience. I just have a bad memory anyway.
• 7:38
Speaker 2: But what I do remember is Rush, so our different
• 7:43
Speaker 2: I was in Alpha Kai yeah, and our story and
• 7:47
Speaker 2: like all the sororities that Indiana and Indiana has a
• 7:50
Speaker 2: massive Greek system and we would all do the skits
• 7:54
Speaker 2: and so you're part of all the skits and I
• 7:57
Speaker 2: remember that, like my mom was a buyer for sacks,
• 8:03
Speaker 2: but maybe not at that time, like maybe it was
• 8:06
Speaker 2: one of the Targets stores or whatever with their department stores,
• 8:09
Speaker 2: and so she would have like stuff laying around the
• 8:11
Speaker 2: house that like it was a sample. Yeah exactly. So
• 8:16
Speaker 2: I had samples of sequin dresses. And I remember like
• 8:18
Speaker 2: we did a skit and we needed dresses or something.
• 8:21
Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I got that. And just like just
• 8:24
Speaker 2: the bonding time with your with your friends who were
• 8:28
Speaker 2: like excited about the skits, whether it's dancing or singing
• 8:31
Speaker 2: or talking or hosting or like just getting people excited.
• 8:34
Speaker 2: I just remember that as such a special time where
• 8:38
Speaker 2: we all got to just bondh and have fun together.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: It was so fun.
• 8:42
Speaker 5: I made so many friends.
• 8:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, I hated it at first, So did you.
• 8:45
Speaker 4: Freshman year, I was like I didn't want pie Fi.
• 8:48
Speaker 4: I want to find you, okay, And my gamma Kay
• 8:52
Speaker 4: got me a recommendation letter from pi FI.
• 8:55
Speaker 5: And because I was too scared to like dirty rush.
• 8:59
Speaker 2: Actually does actually dirty rush meaning you said I like
• 9:02
Speaker 2: Ole miss Like, basically, if you're like being dirty Rush,
• 9:05
Speaker 2: it means you're going outside of the rules of engagement
• 9:09
Speaker 2: for potential new members.
• 9:11
Speaker 4: So like let's say like a Kappa was like, Hey,
• 9:14
Speaker 4: come to my pregame. That is dirty rushing because they
• 9:17
  Speaker 4: are rushing.
• 9:18
Speaker 3: You outsideide of the rush.
• 9:20
Speaker 4: So the only time you're allowed to interact with the
• 9:23
Speaker 4: sorority girls that are active members, it was during this
• 9:27
Speaker 4: thing called the Care Walk, which is like a breast
• 9:29
Speaker 4: cancer awareness walk. And so I was like scared to
• 9:34
Speaker 4: like get in trouble, and so I stuck with my
• 9:37
Speaker 4: gamma Ka. I was the only person that stayed with
• 9:39
Speaker 4: our gamma Kai. All the other ones went to like
• 9:41
Speaker 4: the girls that they were trying to.
• 9:42
Speaker 5: Like rush for you.
• 9:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, so they went to the different girls they knew
• 9:46
  Speaker 4: and the sororities.
• 9:47
Speaker 5: What happens to those girls, Like if they're well.
• 9:50
Speaker 4: They're okay because they're allowed to interact on that day
• 9:52
Speaker 4: because you can't tell somebody what pace they can walk at,
• 9:55
Speaker 4: like everyone they're gonna be out there, you can, I mean,
• 9:58
Speaker 4: if you want to speed walk, speed walk.
• 10:00
Speaker 5: So that was a dirty rushing.
• 10:03
Speaker 4: But that's why she was like, I thought it was
• 10:05
Speaker 4: really nice for sticking with her.
• 10:07
Speaker 5: So she got me a wreck letter.
• 10:09
Speaker 4: But I wanted to find you, and I almost was
• 10:11
Speaker 4: like I was, I was like, I'm not running home
• 10:14
  Speaker 4: to pi Fey.
• 10:15
Speaker 5: Yeah, but I loved it.
• 10:16
Speaker 3: You end up loving it.
• 10:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, I ended up loving it.
• 10:18
Speaker 6: I went to University of Maryland and I was a
• 10:20
Speaker 6: Delta game. I graduated in eighty five. I didn't rush.
• 10:23
  Speaker 6: I rushed when I was a sophomore, and I didn't
• 10:25
Speaker 6: get DGI, so I just didn't take a bid from
• 10:28
Speaker 6: the sorority that I got an offer from, which would
• 10:32
Speaker 6: have been actually a great match for me, and I
• 10:34
Speaker 6: maybe should have done that. But I rushed again the
• 10:36
Speaker 6: next year without any guarantee, and I got DGI, which
• 10:39
Speaker 6: was what I wanted.
• 10:41
Speaker 3: But like, I'm not.
• 10:42
Speaker 6: Positive like that was the end all I thought it
• 10:45
Speaker 6: was at the time because I had a good friend,
• 10:46
Speaker 6: I knew girls in that sorority. Yeah, and I felt
• 10:48
Speaker 6: comfortable there, but I was. I got an offer from
• 10:51
Speaker 6: Theta and it was a really good house, and my
• 10:54
Speaker 6: best friend ended up going there becoming a Theta and
• 10:57
Speaker 6: like she had a great college experience. So like I
• 11:00
Speaker 6: think you can you might be surprised if you don't
• 11:03
Speaker 6: get your first choice, that it may happen for a reason.
• 11:08
Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, I ended you loving it.
• 11:09
Speaker 4: And I met like so many of my best friends there,
• 11:12
Speaker 4: and I had best friends and other sororities too, so
• 11:14
Speaker 4: it was like fine, yeah, we all like sometimes we like.
• 11:17
Speaker 5: Crash each other's like date parties exactly.
• 11:19
Speaker 1: I love that it kicked out, but we're like no,
• 11:21
  Speaker 1: like I'm the d D, Like yeah, hello, it's yeah.
• 11:25
  Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: I want to go through some aspects of recruitment that
• 11:44
Speaker 2: are really big today and just talk about our opinions.
• 11:48
Speaker 2: So social media marketing, we've got hiring social media directors
• 11:54
Speaker 2: to promote your sorority during work week. That's a thing.
• 11:57
Speaker 4: That's been a thing that has been a thing, but
• 11:59
Speaker 4: it was just different. Like when I went through Rush
• 12:02
Speaker 4: in twenty fifteen, it.
• 12:05
Speaker 7: Was like like thirteen fifteen, fifteen, twenty fifteen, it was
• 12:10
Speaker 7: like people was making they were making music videos, right,
• 12:12
Speaker 7: and so they would hire like companies to basically make
• 12:15
  Speaker 7: music videos.
• 12:16
Speaker 4: It was different, but it was the same, and they'd
• 12:18
Speaker 4: be on YouTube and Facebook and like, oh my gosh,
• 12:21
Speaker 4: it was electric. It was like, I mean, it'll take
• 12:24
Speaker 4: you back if you watch it. I mean it's like
• 12:26
Speaker 4: girls like dancing around, Like I'm like, you know the
• 12:28
Speaker 4: OG videos of like girls like frolicking around together, Like,
• 12:33
Speaker 4: oh my gosh, I want to be a part of that.
• 12:35
  Speaker 2: Oh my god.
• 12:36
  Speaker 5: So that's been a thing.
• 12:38
Speaker 3: I wow, for a while, it really sold you. You
• 12:42
Speaker 3: rush yeah, and you're like, oh my god, that's the
• 12:44
  Speaker 3: house I wanted.
• 12:45
Speaker 2: You want to be part of a solreaty because of
• 12:47
Speaker 2: their social media marketing.
• 12:49
Speaker 4: Not necessarily, but there's ones I didn't want to be
• 12:50
  Speaker 4: a part of.
• 12:51
Speaker 2: Really. I was like, I don't think it can work
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: against them.
• 12:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, so it can, but like it's like everything in life, right,
• 12:59
Speaker 4: like okay, Like I mean maybe.
• 13:00
Speaker 6: That video attracted other types of girls and that it
• 13:03
Speaker 6: worked out right each other.
• 13:06
Speaker 4: I wouldn't have fit in at like tried all yeah,
• 13:09
Speaker 4: like those aren't my girls, but they're beautiful and cute
• 13:12
Speaker 4: and southern and proper.
• 13:14
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 13:15
Speaker 4: I was like from the Northeast, Like you know, I
• 13:17
  Speaker 4: wasn't totally Yeah, I'm not proper. I'm like I like
• 13:21
Speaker 4: on the farm, you know.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: So it's good to do right now, you're just stunning, Okay,
• 13:29
Speaker 2: TikTok dances. I'm sure you all have seen the dances
• 13:31
Speaker 2: on social media. They're they're full out routines. Is so true.
• 13:35
Speaker 2: The picking of the front girls is a big deal.
• 13:39
Speaker 2: I can't even imagine what goes down when they're auditioning,
• 13:46
Speaker 2: Like who first of all is it the rush director
• 13:48
Speaker 2: who's auditioning and she's the one who picks and it
• 13:51
Speaker 2: is usual friend chair.
• 13:52
Speaker 4: That like is like a dance well at least for us,
• 13:55
Speaker 4: it was like there was a chair that was assigned
• 13:57
Speaker 4: by the rush person yea, or not a chair, but
• 14:00
Speaker 4: like somebody that ran it. And she was like somebody
• 14:03
Speaker 4: who did dance all through high school where was on
• 14:05
  Speaker 4: the dance team.
• 14:06
Speaker 2: And she was like, I can.
• 14:07
Speaker 4: Choreograph, yep, I can teach the girls all of this.
• 14:11
Speaker 4: And then that's how it was decided. Or they choose
• 14:15
Speaker 4: the cute girls and give you.
• 14:16
Speaker 5: Something simple yep, like like our doorstacks.
• 14:19
Speaker 2: They would what's that mean?
• 14:20
Speaker 5: Oh so almoss, I love.
• 14:24
  Speaker 2: Me.
• 14:24
Speaker 4: They banned this, I think because they were actually dangerous.
• 14:27
Speaker 4: But literally we would start so the bottom girls would
• 14:30
Speaker 4: be on their hands and knees and we would climb
• 14:32
Speaker 4: on top of each other, so we would stack all
• 14:34
Speaker 4: the way up the door and so we would oh
• 14:36
Speaker 4: my god, it like actually haunts me.
• 14:38
Speaker 5: Would be like flipping our freaking heads like rush proby.
• 14:42
Speaker 3: I mean it was.
• 14:43
Speaker 5: It was borderline demonic. But to where to God?
• 14:46
Speaker 2: I have a video going on, people, I will show you.
• 14:49
Speaker 4: After this this video from I have to go on
• 14:51
Speaker 4: my Snapchat memories, but it is crazy.
• 14:54
Speaker 3: Gosh, oh, oh my god.
• 14:57
  Speaker 5: That's a doorstack.
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: That's it.
• 14:59
Speaker 2: Why didn't you it was like furniture to stand on
• 15:02
Speaker 2: instead of because we did.
• 15:03
Speaker 5: Once the girls were out of the house, we rushed,
• 15:06
Speaker 5: We rushed to the front.
• 15:07
Speaker 2: We all stepped up.
• 15:08
Speaker 4: So then we were like bye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye from
• 15:13
Speaker 4: that one hundred girls, I think nar Yeah, and then
• 15:17
Speaker 4: you had girls like like behind like being like bye bye.
• 15:20
Speaker 3: Because they could they couldn't get that.
• 15:22
  Speaker 2: It's crazy.
• 15:22
Speaker 3: They couldn't be seen.
• 15:23
Speaker 5: Yeah, it was just insane.
• 15:25
Speaker 3: I can't imagine how those top people got up.
• 15:26
Speaker 5: There, and did they ever get They run and jump
• 15:29
  Speaker 5: on each other.
• 15:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just stepping on sisters. Yeah, that's a message
• 15:33
Speaker 3: you want to show.
• 15:34
Speaker 5: Hold each other up.
• 15:35
Speaker 3: Look at us. We step on each other.
• 15:37
Speaker 2: We hold hold each other.
• 15:40
Speaker 3: It's all about the marketing. Yep, each other each.
• 15:44
  Speaker 5: Other up exactly.
• 15:45
Speaker 2: Okay. This is a big thing that I have seen
• 15:47
Speaker 2: lately is sponsorships. Brands are partnering with sororities to promote
• 15:50
Speaker 2: their brands, like Poppy with alex Earle. I remember seeing
• 15:54
Speaker 2: her walking into her sorority house or during rush or whatever.
• 15:59
Speaker 2: I wonder it's kind of like the the football trend
• 16:05
Speaker 2: of like paying the college athlete. I know, and I
• 16:09
Speaker 2: don't know if I like it.
• 16:10
Speaker 3: I mean, guining brand sponsorships.
• 16:12
Speaker 2: I mean I feel like, yes, good for them, but
• 16:16
Speaker 2: also I don't know, there's something like kind of like.
• 16:21
Speaker 4: It's true market like it are you talking like person
• 16:24
Speaker 4: a person, like one person gets a brand new or
• 16:27
Speaker 4: it's for the sorority as a whole sorority.
• 16:28
Speaker 6: I think like Poppy will give you know, twenty cases
• 16:32
Speaker 6: a poppy and they want you to show them holding it.
• 16:34
Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I will say if they're making money
• 16:37
Speaker 4: from it, if it goes to the sorority, and oh
• 16:39
Speaker 4: they should be paying the sorority for if it helps
• 16:42
Speaker 4: with maintenance and lowering people's dues.
• 16:44
Speaker 2: True, I'm good with that.
• 16:45
Speaker 5: If it goes to philanthropy, I'm good with that, true story.
• 16:47
Speaker 3: But if it's just.
• 16:48
Speaker 2: Being I mean, because there's a brand like wanting exposure
• 16:52
Speaker 2: and being like, well, we're sending all this stuff, so
• 16:54
  Speaker 2: just post it.
• 16:55
Speaker 5: It's like, well, like.
• 16:56
Speaker 4: You're getting a lot of like exposure from this, and
• 16:59
Speaker 4: you know these girls are going to be so excited
• 17:00
Speaker 4: about your products, they're going to go out and.
• 17:01
Speaker 2: Buy them themselves. Totally agree.
• 17:03
Speaker 4: So I don't know, I feel like there are good
• 17:07
Speaker 4: things that come from that. And like I know, our
• 17:10
Speaker 4: dues were really high and then they started doing renovations
• 17:12
Speaker 4: on our house and they like went up so much.
• 17:14
Speaker 2: Remember last year, I was like, thank god, I'm leaving, Like, yeah,
• 17:17
  Speaker 2: these are crazy.
• 17:19
Speaker 5: It was like another tuition.
• 17:20
Speaker 2: I mean, you're right, if someone smart in the in
• 17:23
Speaker 2: the sorority house or at the university or whatever is
• 17:25
Speaker 2: setting up brand deals for your actual house and you're
• 17:29
Speaker 2: able to, like you said, give back to your philanthropy
• 17:33
Speaker 2: or pay for dues or renovations or whatever. Great. So
• 17:37
Speaker 2: it's an all group thing. But if there's one particular person,
• 17:40
Speaker 2: I just don't know if that like would sit well
• 17:43
  Speaker 2: with me.
• 17:44
Speaker 3: I didn't picture it that way.
• 17:45
Speaker 2: You know, like if one person is getting like security
• 17:52
Speaker 2: sisters to like like that, but you know, whatever to
• 17:58
Speaker 2: each if it was a whole like it, yeah, I
• 18:01
Speaker 2: think it would be. Yeah.
• 18:02
Speaker 6: I think it's actually be kind of interesting to see
• 18:05
Speaker 6: what brands sorry, it's actually offer like you could see
• 18:08
Speaker 6: I can see a lot of lipstick brands.
• 18:09
Speaker 3: I could see a lot of makeup brands.
• 18:11
  Speaker 2: Offering make up.
• 18:12
Speaker 3: I could see. I could see a big industry there,
• 18:15
  Speaker 3: like the odor.
• 18:16
Speaker 2: It would be a like Salt and Stone needs to
• 18:18
Speaker 2: get in there because there's a great like none of
• 18:21
Speaker 2: these cute cute or any there's a ton of tennis
• 18:27
Speaker 2: skirts you have to all the time, like.
• 18:30
Speaker 3: Sure, yeah they could.
• 18:33
  Speaker 5: There are opportunities.
• 18:34
Speaker 3: There are a lot of opper many of the schools
• 18:37
Speaker 3: where you could offer them.
• 18:38
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 18:39
Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe we should get into this business.
• 18:41
Speaker 6: I mean, okay, the three of us, we should do this.
• 18:56
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 19:00
Speaker 2: Outfits of the Day. Both actives and p and ms
• 19:03
Speaker 2: post their outfits of the day on their social media,
• 19:05
Speaker 2: explaining where every item is from.
• 19:07
Speaker 3: Great Little Brandy not.
• 19:11
Speaker 2: I mean, I love outfits of the day for me,
• 19:14
Speaker 2: especially like the discount ones where I'm like, you want
• 19:17
Speaker 2: that from Walmart? I'm going, I'm.
• 19:21
Speaker 3: I never before in my life and I went and
• 19:24
Speaker 3: went and I did a Walmart hole.
• 19:26
Speaker 2: Lately really good, such good.
• 19:27
Speaker 5: Stuff like that. My Texas home line is insane.
• 19:34
  Speaker 3: No I haven't seen it.
• 19:35
Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, I've I bought like ten of them. Okay,
• 19:39
  Speaker 5: they have.
• 19:42
Speaker 2: So good. I'm all about that. Like if girls want
• 19:44
Speaker 2: to share their own outfits of the day, like go
• 19:48
  Speaker 2: for it.
• 19:49
Speaker 4: I will say, it can be a brutal place. Though
• 19:51
Speaker 4: I read some of the comments, I'm like.
• 19:52
Speaker 2: Oh, oh, like people are ruthless, and then it makes
• 19:56
Speaker 2: me sad because I like think about how scary rushes
• 19:59
Speaker 2: and how intimidate and then I'm like, like, you're right,
• 20:03
Speaker 2: she's just a girl. You're just especially thinking about my
• 20:08
Speaker 2: daughter going I would want about that because I wouldn't
• 20:12
  Speaker 2: want to know.
• 20:12
Speaker 4: It just like makes me so sad because it really
• 20:15
Speaker 4: is kind of a toxic experience because you just you
• 20:19
Speaker 4: doubt yourself so much.
• 20:21
Speaker 3: It's an ego like it is.
• 20:25
Speaker 5: Yeah, it just like tears you down a little bit.
• 20:27
Speaker 3: No matter well, you're super vulnerable freshman in college.
• 20:29
Speaker 4: Unless you like really go in. You're like, I'm a
• 20:32
Speaker 4: triple legacy here. I know exactly where I'm going to
• 20:34
Speaker 4: go to people like worship literally at your feet, because
• 20:38
Speaker 4: that's what they do.
• 20:39
  Speaker 2: They do your.
• 20:40
Speaker 5: Feet, sit by the feet, we say on legacy people.
• 20:43
Speaker 4: No, no, no, everyone like I would sit like if
• 20:46
  Speaker 4: I was the p and M I would and I
• 20:49
Speaker 4: was the active would be sitting right here really like
• 20:52
Speaker 4: on their knees, like talking to me, like.
• 20:55
Speaker 2: And you were the triple Legacy or is this for everybody?
• 20:57
Speaker 4: I just mean, like if it wasn't like my my
• 21:00
Speaker 4: experience was like really daunting and scary and intimidating. And
• 21:04
Speaker 4: I do feel like it bruised my ego, which that's
• 21:08
Speaker 4: always a good thing. You can only go up from there.
• 21:10
Speaker 4: Sometimes you need to be humbled. But I just feel
• 21:14
Speaker 4: for some of the girls that post things and then
• 21:16
Speaker 4: they just get like absolutely destroyed.
• 21:18
Speaker 5: I'm like, she's just trying to like do what everyone
• 21:21
Speaker 5: is trying to be.
• 21:23
Speaker 2: Can you I'm sorry, I'm going to go back to this,
• 21:26
Speaker 2: like sitting with everyone sitting at your feet. That's how
• 21:28
Speaker 2: it works now, Yeah.
• 21:29
Speaker 4: So like I could pretend to do you know, but yeah,
• 21:34
Speaker 4: so they like sit right there, like literally at.
• 21:37
Speaker 2: Your knees and they're literally sitting on the ground and
• 21:40
  Speaker 2: you're in a chair.
• 21:41
Speaker 4: The P and M is in a chair, and then
• 21:43
Speaker 4: the active person is on their knees sitting next to you.
• 21:47
Speaker 4: And then when it gets to and it's just one,
• 21:48
Speaker 4: it's just one, so it's one to one.
• 21:50
Speaker 5: And then somebody if it's a girl that you I
• 21:53
  Speaker 5: don't know if I'm well, I don't I didn't sign
• 21:56
  Speaker 5: that NDA.
• 21:57
  Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think I like, I don't know. Anyways,
• 22:02
Speaker 4: maybe if they're really good, I'm they would like shift
• 22:05
Speaker 4: like more girls to come and talk to them so
• 22:07
Speaker 4: they felt really loved okay, so like it'd be like, oh,
• 22:09
Speaker 4: I met this girl and I met this girl and
• 22:10
Speaker 4: they're so cute and like, you know, you learn all
• 22:13
Speaker 4: the questions to ask people, and like, if you get
• 22:16
Speaker 4: somebody talking about we actually did like a workshop to
• 22:19
Speaker 4: like show you how to talk to people, and it's
• 22:22
Speaker 4: stuck with me my whole life. But if you get
• 22:24
Speaker 4: really great lesson it is and if you can get
• 22:26
Speaker 4: people to talk about themselves, they only remember you're right,
• 22:31
Speaker 4: like it that it was a good Like that's good.
• 22:33
Speaker 4: They like them more because they were talking about themselves,
• 22:36
Speaker 4: because everyone loves themselves deep down and they just want
• 22:39
Speaker 4: to talk about themselves. So if you can get a
• 22:41
Speaker 4: girl talking about themselves, they will like.
• 22:44
Speaker 5: You more and like your house.
• 22:46
Speaker 2: Are you saying that you would recommend for people who
• 22:51
Speaker 2: because you are the most recent of the three of
• 22:53
Speaker 2: us to go through this For my daughter, are you
• 22:56
Speaker 2: saying that you would recommend for her to make the
• 23:00
Speaker 2: active talk about themselves so that it leaves a positive
• 23:05
  Speaker 2: input and question.
• 23:07
Speaker 4: I feel like if you can find common ground with
• 23:10
Speaker 4: someone and like ask questions, that will, like, you know,
• 23:14
Speaker 4: help you find that.
• 23:15
  Speaker 5: Like honestly, I.
• 23:17
Speaker 4: Got to find my notebook from my therapist because she
• 23:19
Speaker 4: gave me some really go.
• 23:22
Speaker 5: Will because it was like truly amazing.
• 23:24
Speaker 4: She like gave me like a bullet point list of
• 23:25
Speaker 4: like how to get people to open up. And I
• 23:29
Speaker 4: got it before I went on the show because I
• 23:32
Speaker 4: was like, I'm scared of all these girls, like I
• 23:34
  Speaker 4: like feel like I'm like I don't know what I'm
• 23:36
Speaker 4: gonna do. I like feel like I can't talk to people.
• 23:38
Speaker 4: And she was like, no, you're really good at talking
• 23:40
Speaker 4: to people. I was like, like, well what do you do?
• 23:42
Speaker 4: Like you're the therapist, You've got me to say a
• 23:43
Speaker 4: lot of secrets here.
• 23:45
Speaker 2: I was like, like, give me something to work with, Megan.
• 23:52
  Speaker 2: So she did.
• 23:54
Speaker 5: Thank you to her. But I still have the notebook and.
• 23:59
Speaker 3: You send me a page of that too.
• 24:02
Speaker 2: Personal stuff. But it's not just this genius questions. I
• 24:07
  Speaker 2: love this.
• 24:07
Speaker 4: I remember the questions now, but it was just question
• 24:11
Speaker 4: people feel comfortable opening up.
• 24:13
Speaker 5: To you and like they don't. I don't know, you
• 24:16
Speaker 5: just want people to feel safe totally.
• 24:19
Speaker 2: And I feel like, yes, it's great from an active
• 24:21
Speaker 2: perspective of looking at p and ms and thinking like
• 24:24
Speaker 2: I want to leave this impression because I want them
• 24:27
Speaker 2: to like my house. But I also think it's amazing
• 24:31
Speaker 2: for the p and ms to have to be able
• 24:33
Speaker 2: to make the active feel loved and listen to and
• 24:37
Speaker 2: heard because they want to leave a positive impression on
• 24:40
Speaker 2: them and they can get into the house.
• 24:41
Speaker 4: And they will stand If you really love someone, you
• 24:44
  Speaker 4: will stand up.
• 24:45
Speaker 2: I remember that. Yeah, yeah, you fight for people that
• 24:49
Speaker 2: you love you all right. This has been amazing, Like
• 24:51
Speaker 2: I seriously feel like we could talk for hours, Like
• 24:56
Speaker 2: I just want to pick your brain, Like literally, I'm
• 24:58
Speaker 2: going to get your number and I'm I'd even call
• 25:00
Speaker 2: you next year and be like, Gabby, can you talk
• 25:03
  Speaker 2: to blakesleep.
• 25:06
Speaker 6: Like camp starts now at the beginning of the summer
• 25:11
Speaker 6: three months and you show we're going.
• 25:15
Speaker 2: To play a pickle. Thank you everybody for listening. This
• 25:18
Speaker 2: is Dirty Rush and this has been trista and amazing.
• 25:23
Speaker 2: I'm Gabby, You're amazing and everybody can listen to a
• 25:28
Speaker 2: Dirty Rush podcast on Instagram and TikTok. Thank you for
• 25:31
  Speaker 2: listening okay,
