- 0:42Speaker 2: a daddy to this show, Daniel Reyes.
- 0:46Speaker 1: That's right, and just remember daddy's help you feel good.
- 0:52Speaker 1: That's right. Just let you know, Oh man, you know to.
- 0:57Speaker 2: The audience with with my introduct you got to keep
- 1:01Speaker 2: something in mind. I come up with I wake up
- 1:04Speaker 2: twenty minutes before the show, and I come up with
- 1:06Speaker 2: these like, you know, either while I'm in the shower
- 1:09Speaker 2: or sitting on the job. So perfect for all of
- 1:13Speaker 2: you thinking that I spend an entire week, you know,
- 1:16Speaker 2: braid story, you know, bouncing ideas off of co workers
- 1:21Speaker 2: and stuff. They just like I roll, I roll out
- 1:25Speaker 2: of bed and I'm sitting on the throne going, oh see,
- 1:28Speaker 2: it's Mother's day. That's right, it's happy Mother's Day.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That's rights Day. It's all the moms.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And Happy Mother's Day to my mom.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yes, Happy Mother's Day, Scott's mom.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So what's going on, man, How you've been You know,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I've been doing good, been doing real well. Right now,
- 1:53Speaker 2: I'm in the process. You say you're super, Yeah, I
- 1:56Speaker 2: am super. I've got the Superman shirt on, so you
- 1:58Speaker 2: can tell what you can tell what movie I'm most
- 2:00Speaker 2: excited about there this summer. But so I've been going through.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Last year I got signed up with the VA Veterans
- 2:09Speaker 2: Administration and fifteen years after I got out of the service. Wow. Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 2: So my friends and family have been bugging me for years.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You need to get connected with the VA. You need
- 2:21Speaker 2: to go for some VA disability compensation. And I'm My
- 2:25Speaker 2: attitude has always been, well, I'm not a disabled veteran.
- 2:28Speaker 2: That's that's that other guy over there.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You know, that's the.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Guy with a missing leg or the one that got
- 2:33Speaker 2: shot or blah blah blah blah blah. And it's taken
- 2:36Speaker 2: me a long time to realize that a lot of
- 2:39Speaker 2: the injuries that veterans receive, whether they're in country or not,
- 2:44Speaker 2: whether they get deployed or not. Are the ones you
- 2:46Speaker 2: can't see?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Oh okay, you know.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So just because and I know a lot of guys
- 2:51Speaker 2: that are one hundred percent rated, which means they get
- 2:55Speaker 2: a they're rated one hundred percent disability by the VA standard.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Uh that you look at them and talk to them
- 3:02Speaker 2: and you could you wouldn't be able to tell they
- 3:03Speaker 2: were even in the service. You know, the normal guys
- 3:06Speaker 2: girls that are just you know, walking around doing their job.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And you know, now, because I spent so much time
- 3:15Speaker 2: not doing this process, I want to shout out to
- 3:19Speaker 2: everybody who's a veteran who's not connected with the VA
- 3:23Speaker 2: to get connected with the VA. And not only that,
- 3:26Speaker 2: but the V. The VA disability process is a long,
- 3:30Speaker 2: complicated process. And I first submitted a claim by myself,
- 3:38Speaker 2: and I submitted claims for things that I thought might
- 3:41Speaker 2: be you know, issues with me not thinking about other
- 3:44Speaker 2: things that weren't you know, PTSD for example, I said
- 3:49Speaker 2: to myself, well, I don't have PTSD, you know, so
- 3:51Speaker 2: I didn't even apply for it. And then after I
- 3:56Speaker 2: made my first claim, I found out that our county
- 3:59Speaker 2: has what's called a Veteran Service Officer and what that
- 4:02Speaker 2: their sole job is to help veterans like me go
- 4:05Speaker 2: through the VA claims process. And when I sat down
- 4:08Speaker 2: with him, he's like, well, you didn't claim this, and
- 4:10Speaker 2: you didn't claim this, and you didn't claim this. I'm like,
- 4:12Speaker 2: I didn't know I had these things and he's like, yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 2: you do. And PTSD is an example. You know, I
- 4:19Speaker 2: had a meeting with a psychiatrist through the VA and
- 4:25Speaker 2: she said, you one absolutely have postmatic stress, which was,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know, kind of news to me but sort of
- 4:33Speaker 2: made sense. So the whole point of this is if
- 4:36Speaker 2: you're a veteran, if you're listening to this show and
- 4:39Speaker 2: you haven't connected with the VA, get connected with the VA.
- 4:43Speaker 2: But before you do that, find some kind of Veterans
- 4:46Speaker 2: Service officer to help you. In the state of Michigan,
- 4:50Speaker 2: by law, there has to be a Veteran Service office
- 4:52Speaker 2: in each county. There's also things like the DAV Disabled
- 4:58Speaker 2: American Veterans, the American Legion, the VFW. Even some vas
- 5:03Speaker 2: across the country have Veterans Service Offices within their facility.
- 5:06Speaker 2: So if you are a veteran, it doesn't matter how
- 5:10Speaker 2: long you've been out, go to the VA, get connected,
- 5:14Speaker 2: and go for your disability because it's not a handout
- 5:18Speaker 2: to veterans. It's called VA compensation. They're compensating you for
- 5:23Speaker 2: what you already did.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So right, that's.
- 5:25Speaker 2: My little PSA. Yeah, I just wanted to throw that
- 5:28Speaker 2: out there.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Thanks for Yeah, No, absolutely, Yeah, that's right. That's right. No,
- 5:34Speaker 1: that's very important. Yeah. Well, I'm glad that you're getting
- 5:37Speaker 1: that taken care of. Right on. Yeah, so we've got
- 5:42Speaker 1: some news stories. We're also going to be talking about
- 5:46Speaker 1: all the movies that are coming out in twenty twenty six.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You would be surprised how many big movies are coming
- 5:51Speaker 1: out a lot of anticipated films. You would also be
- 5:53Speaker 1: surprised how it stacks up historically to other big years.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And I do have splits of other years, a lot
- 6:00Speaker 1: of big movies that came out those years. So we
- 6:03Speaker 1: will compare that and talk about what we're excited about
- 6:06Speaker 1: and what you know, that kind of thing overall impressions,
- 6:11Speaker 1: So that that should be a lot of fun. Oh,
- 6:14Speaker 1: Chasbins is saying good morning, good morning, Chasbis.
- 6:16Speaker 2: How are you doing good morning?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, So there you go.
- 6:21Speaker 2: We have the ability to chat, don't we.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yes, we do, Yes, we do.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Sometimes I forget about that little little screen on the side.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh, I have got all the buttons. It's crazy, all
- 6:29Speaker 1: the buttons, all the buttons, that's right. Oh yeah, uh Bron,
- 6:35Speaker 1: good morning, Ben minutes. I caught you live. Oh well
- 6:38Speaker 1: he caught us. Good job, Yeah, welcome, and then Scott says, Hi,
- 6:43Speaker 1: yes I do, that's right. Sorry, So there you go. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: my week was good. I went yesterday to a toy
- 6:56Speaker 1: show in my area. That a local toy show. Yeah,
- 7:00Speaker 1: so that was a lot of fun, a lot of
- 7:02Speaker 1: interesting things. I am now getting to the point though,
- 7:05Speaker 1: where I look at the stuff and I want to
- 7:08Speaker 1: get it, but at the same time, I'm like, I
- 7:09Speaker 1: don't need this stuff all over my house, Like I don't, so,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you know, so I just go to look the window
- 7:16Speaker 1: shop more than anything. Yeah, sure, Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I have that same problem when I when I go
- 7:22Speaker 2: to like the comic cons and I see all these
- 7:23Speaker 2: cool like you know, I want the Sword of Omen
- 7:27Speaker 2: from yeah Undercats, and I want I want the cartoon.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I want the cartoon design version of the of he
- 7:32Speaker 2: Man's Sword.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah you know.
- 7:34Speaker 2: But both of these things that their high quality are
- 7:36Speaker 2: in the two to three hundred dollars range, and it's
- 7:40Speaker 2: hard for me to justify that.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I hear you, I hear you.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I was look cooler in a basement than these two
- 7:49Speaker 2: sores next to each other.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I saw at the toy shop or the toy
- 7:54Speaker 1: store or show they had a Voltron that I love
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I've got I've got a couple of different versions already,
- 8:03Speaker 1: but this is when I didn't have. This is one
- 8:05Speaker 1: from the eighties that you could put little figures in it,
- 8:07Speaker 1: so like the the the lion paladins were in their lions.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, So it was bigger, and the guy wanted two
- 8:17Speaker 1: fifty for it, and I was like, well that, I mean,
- 8:19Speaker 1: that's a fair price for what that thing is, right,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and what they normally go for. But at the same time,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm like, but I don't what am I gonna do
- 8:26Speaker 1: another Vultron on my shelf?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Like I had the Vultron. It was the one where
- 8:33Speaker 2: each figure was i don't know, kind of kind of
- 8:36Speaker 2: small ish, and they they clicked into each other to
- 8:39Speaker 2: form Voltron, you know. And I bought them individually, you know.
- 8:43Speaker 2: The time I go to the store, I'd buy one
- 8:45Speaker 2: and the next week I'd buy another one, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and I had.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That because I have the original figures in the box.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You have the vult figures.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Man, there's so much crap that I had as a kid.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I either got lost in my mom's older house or
- 8:58Speaker 2: that I just destroyed because I was I was one
- 9:00Speaker 2: of those kids that was a destructor, you know junk.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I have already. I got this thing just sitting here
- 9:06Speaker 1: next to me, so he is still in the box.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I bought it because I'm like, oh, the thing looks
- 9:11Speaker 1: cool and and it's just sitting there.
- 9:13Speaker 2: See, I get stuff for Christmas. I wanted to show
- 9:15Speaker 2: this off.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I have nice Yeah, that's awesome.
- 9:20Speaker 2: It's Quark. It's a it's a pop u pop figures
- 9:24Speaker 2: that we call. But the first thing I noticed was
- 9:28Speaker 2: the mug that he's got in his hand.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Is that from the commercial?
- 9:32Speaker 2: This is from the commercial? Yet to Quarks that it's
- 9:35Speaker 2: the it's the cup that Wharf brought onto the bridge
- 9:39Speaker 2: of the of wherever they were when he's like, where
- 9:43Speaker 2: is he? I ordered some prune juice from the Defiance mess.
- 9:46Speaker 2: This is what it came in, and this is the
- 9:48Speaker 2: mug that he's called. That's what it came it.
- 9:51Speaker 1: You know what we're on here, we're grown assmen showing
- 9:54Speaker 1: off our toys on the internet. You know what we deserve,
- 9:59Speaker 1: get out.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I ain't got commonly distracted by going worth this chime
- 10:02Speaker 2: ass goal Yeah yeah, yeah, but we love them.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. And Chasmin says he doesn't have
- 10:12Speaker 1: the lions, but the pilots. Yeah, that's dope. At the
- 10:15Speaker 1: toy sho at the toys show, they had those guys
- 10:18Speaker 1: I think like forty bucks a bop so yeah. Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So I dressed as Vultron for Halloween when I was
- 10:26Speaker 2: like nine.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Oh nice, nice.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a picture of me floating around there subwhere
- 10:31Speaker 2: of nine year old Scott with the mask and then
- 10:36Speaker 2: the face painted you sometimes. Yeah, I'm gonna have to
- 10:39Speaker 2: find it. I know. I found it about a year
- 10:44Speaker 2: year and a half ago because I have a friend
- 10:46Speaker 2: that she's huge into like anime and Voltron and stuff
- 10:49Speaker 2: like that.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Okay, I forgot I told her I was going to.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Look for that picture. I finally found it and I
- 10:53Speaker 2: sent it to her.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So nice, yeah, nice, I'll put it on the Facebook page.
- 11:00Speaker 1: A Trey Prime says he's been watching The Orville. It's
- 11:03Speaker 1: such a good series. Tngstale episodes and loved it. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 1: it's a great show man. I don't know how far
- 11:10Speaker 1: you're into it, but season three was amazing.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Oh by far? Yeah, that was.
- 11:18Speaker 1: The episode's drag on a little bit too long because
- 11:21Speaker 1: they kind of just went for it. But season three
- 11:24Speaker 1: is probably the best ones.
- 11:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I wish my dream would be for Seth
- 11:30Speaker 2: MacFarlane and Terry mettallis mm hm to get together and
- 11:34Speaker 2: have a baby, and that baby would be Legends there
- 11:39Speaker 2: you go, or Legacy Legacy. Yeah, how good would that
- 11:43Speaker 2: show be? Oh?
- 11:44Speaker 1: Would be great? It would be great.
- 11:46Speaker 2: How much money would Paramount make on it?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Hillions?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Good chills? You know what that is? A that is
- 11:53Speaker 1: a good segue to the news, because our first news
- 11:57Speaker 1: is about Paramount. So let's get to the Star Trek news.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Star Trek News.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So our first news story comes to us from trekmovie
- 12:08Speaker 1: dot com. Let me pull this up. But recently the
- 12:13Speaker 1: Paramount CEO, David Ellison was talking a little bit about
- 12:18Speaker 1: the future of the company and he talked a little
- 12:21Speaker 1: bit about what the plans are for Star Trek. He
- 12:26Speaker 1: it's not like you specifically, was like, and here's what
- 12:28Speaker 1: we're going to do with Star Trek. He was talking
- 12:31Speaker 1: overall the plans for the entire company. So he says,
- 12:38Speaker 1: for twenty twenty six, we have new seasons of the Agency,
- 12:41Speaker 1: Star Trek, Lioness, Mobland, and Tulsa King. So you know,
- 12:45Speaker 1: he's just kind of like, here's what's coming up. Then
- 12:48Speaker 1: later in this it was during the the Q one
- 12:52Speaker 1: investment call, this is where all this came from. He
- 12:55Speaker 1: did talk about how they are planning with the merger
- 12:58Speaker 1: with Warner Brothers. They are planning, you know, making thirty
- 13:00Speaker 1: films a year, and they want to bring back some
- 13:05Speaker 1: big franchises like Harry Potter, Top Gun, Star Trek among them,
- 13:08Speaker 1: Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones. They all want to bring
- 13:11Speaker 1: to the to the big screen, even Yellowstone, which was
- 13:14Speaker 1: I was kind of surprised by.
- 13:17Speaker 2: And then long term, you know, talking about making those
- 13:19Speaker 2: feature films.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, potentially potentially yeah. And then another thing that
- 13:27Speaker 1: I thought was kind of interesting is one of the
- 13:29Speaker 1: investors brought up, hey, you used to license your content
- 13:35Speaker 1: onto other streamers, right, like you used to be able
- 13:38Speaker 1: to watch Star Trek on Netflix or whatever. Sure, you know,
- 13:41Speaker 1: is that a potential in the future and he basically said, like, yeah,
- 13:45Speaker 1: we would, we would be open to that. We we
- 13:47Speaker 1: would definitely see about doing that. He's like some some
- 13:50Speaker 1: it makes more sense to keep in the house and
- 13:53Speaker 1: keep on Paramount Plus exclusively, but they would be open
- 13:57Speaker 1: to to selling and licensing us some. He's including some
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the originals. So potentially you could see like Disco
- 14:07Speaker 1: on Netflix or something like that, or Starfleet Academy on Netflix.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You know, there's that rumor we talked about that. You know,
- 14:16Speaker 1: they apparently they're trying to send season two to Netflix,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and you know we'll see of Academy. Yeah, we'll see.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I'm real worried about it.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, me too, but you know, basically, if there's
- 14:31Speaker 1: money to be made, they will figure it out. So
- 14:34Speaker 1: that's that's the going sentiment right now. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 1: all right. Our next new story comes to us from
- 14:42Speaker 1: iFilm dot com and I thought this was kind of funny.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So Carl Urban is out there right now promoting the
- 14:50Speaker 1: new Mortal Kombat movie that he's in that's gonna be
- 14:52Speaker 1: one of the movies we talked about in our twenty
- 14:54Speaker 1: twenty six or twenty twenty six preview. But he's out
- 14:57Speaker 1: there promoting the new Mortal Kombat, and he he kind
- 15:00Speaker 1: of talked a little bit about an interesting anecdote he
- 15:05Speaker 1: almost did not return in Star Trek Beyond. I don't
- 15:11Speaker 1: remember hearing this, maybe yes, So basically he said in
- 15:15Speaker 1: an interview that quote, I was a little disappointed with
- 15:19Speaker 1: the lack of development in McCoy into Darkness. So with that,
- 15:23Speaker 1: even though I had an amazing, amazing experience working with
- 15:26Speaker 1: JJ and the cast, at the end of the day,
- 15:28Speaker 1: there wasn't much to do. So when it came when
- 15:32Speaker 1: they came to be with an offer for Beyond, I
- 15:34Speaker 1: was literally in the final stages of negotiating for another film.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So yeah, he almost didn't show up.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I mean, and he's one of the trio. Every every
- 15:45Speaker 2: cast as there, you know, there's it's an ensemble cast,
- 15:48Speaker 2: with the captain obviously being you know, number one. But
- 15:53Speaker 2: in Star Trek the original series, it was always you know,
- 15:57Speaker 2: Kirk's back McCoy yep, you know, And that would have
- 16:00Speaker 2: been a much different movie if they had to write
- 16:02Speaker 2: him out.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it would have been very, very different. But
- 16:07Speaker 1: I mean that's also you can kind of see why
- 16:09Speaker 1: and Beyond he had so much to do with.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Spock, right, a lot of development between those two characters,
- 16:16Speaker 2: the relationship.
- 16:18Speaker 1: That makes sense. They're like, we gotta keep Carl happy.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Let's let's write something good for him.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, because you know, they always treated Spock and
- 16:27Speaker 2: McCoy as if they didn't like each other. They loved
- 16:30Speaker 2: each other. Yeah, they were, They were good friends. They
- 16:34Speaker 2: just had they just had that kind of relationship, you know.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Yeah. So I just thought that was a
- 16:41Speaker 1: fun little anecdote to bring in. But our last news
- 16:46Speaker 1: story comes to us from what is this website? Red
- 16:50Speaker 1: Shirts will Always Die. You know, It's hard to explain,
- 16:57Speaker 1: but basically, Grandpa William Shatner, who out there living his
- 17:01Speaker 1: best life at a you know, three hundred years old
- 17:03Speaker 1: or whatever he is now. I don't know if you
- 17:07Speaker 1: know this, but Grandpa is going to be part of
- 17:08Speaker 1: a heavy metal album coming out by a band called Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: it's a band called Nuclear Messiah, which of course it is,
- 17:17Speaker 1: you know, but uh, Grandpa put on a preview on
- 17:20Speaker 1: on X and uh, you know, because it's a preview,
- 17:24Speaker 1: legally we should be able to play this. Yeah, I'm
- 17:27Speaker 1: just gonna play for those of you who know I
- 17:29Speaker 1: should probably use some context. Nuclear Messiah is a heavy
- 17:33Speaker 1: metal supergroup primarily comprised of a lot of people from Megadeth,
- 17:40Speaker 1: so an Iron Maiden, so yeah, yeah, yeah, So here
- 17:45Speaker 1: you go. Here here's Grandpa on the next Nuclear Messiah album.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Appearents of the Burning Sky, where angels are torn apart, okay,
- 18:01Speaker 3: reduced to ash, the world, cherished rods in silence from
- 18:11Speaker 3: the charred bones of creation, a prophet.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Of flame, crowd wrap, the stench of death is the
- 18:25Speaker 2: break of the flight on the earth. A baby voice
- 18:31Speaker 2: that speaks, and fire and thunder for the Nuclear Messiah.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, yeah yeah, oh my.
- 18:49Speaker 1: God, it's amazing.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Oh I just stood that to him not six months ago.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I heard.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I heard him talking about this and I he was
- 19:05Speaker 2: doing an interview or something. He's like, yeah, I've got
- 19:07Speaker 2: he was talking about plans he was making. Okay, He's like, yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 2: next year, next October or whatever, blah blah blah, and
- 19:14Speaker 2: twenty twenty seven, I'm going to be doing this and that.
- 19:16Speaker 2: And I'm like, it's really bold for a ninety four
- 19:20Speaker 2: year old. Yeah, just to make plans eighteen months out. Yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 2: because I don't know what the statistics are of how
- 19:31Speaker 2: long ninety with the lifespan is of ninety four year
- 19:33Speaker 2: olds in this country.
- 19:35Speaker 1: But but he's like traveling around, he's living his life.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he's It's crazy.
- 19:41Speaker 1: He's an inspiration man in that room.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Just four years ago he went to space.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, just because he could just busy.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Yeah, because he's William Frickin' chatter right. I mean, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 2: I got my picture taken with him. My wife got
- 19:58Speaker 2: our picture. I'm not a huge williams at A fan.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I'm not a big Original series fan. I mean, I
- 20:03Speaker 2: love the movies, but I you know, he's not even
- 20:05Speaker 2: in my top five of favorite Star Trek people. But
- 20:09Speaker 2: I got my picture taken with him, spent a stupid
- 20:11Speaker 2: amount of money to do it because it was William Shatner.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You're doing.
- 20:16Speaker 1: No, I'm curious, who are your top five Star Trek people? Oh?
- 20:21Speaker 2: I think if we just run across the main series,
- 20:23Speaker 2: not the brand new series. But I think I think
- 20:26Speaker 2: my number one is Oh here we got is number one? Okay, Okay,
- 20:33Speaker 2: the original Strongbeard, Okay, will will Riiker. I'm a big
- 20:39Speaker 2: fan of Trip Tucker from uh from Enterprise. For some reason,
- 20:45Speaker 2: his character resonates with me. He's just yeah, I just
- 20:48Speaker 2: I think he's a great engineer. I love his character,
- 20:51Speaker 2: you know, a little folksy because he's got that Floridian accent.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I'm I'm a big fan of Garrick. I think his
- 21:01Speaker 2: character was just amazing, one of the best characters of
- 21:04Speaker 2: T Space nine. I like relationships too, like not just
- 21:11Speaker 2: you know, like romantic relationships. But I love the relationship
- 21:14Speaker 2: between Paris and Kim. Okay, I just I just got
- 21:20Speaker 2: done a rewatching Voyager and I just thought that relationship was,
- 21:25Speaker 2: you know, the friendship, but you know, the starry eyed
- 21:28Speaker 2: kid and the convict. You know, everybody warns Kim at
- 21:32Speaker 2: the beginning, don't be friends with him, and he ends
- 21:34Speaker 2: up being his best friend. Yeah, that kind of thing.
- 21:37Speaker 2: But yeah, you know, I like the relationship between Geordy
- 21:43Speaker 2: and Data. I liked the relationship between Cisco and Dax
- 21:47Speaker 2: m hm. So yeah, those.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Are solid picks. Yeah, I ture you Prehms is one
- 21:56Speaker 1: day you're selling Raisin brand, the next day you're on
- 21:58Speaker 1: a heavy metal album. Is enough shatter for everyone? I
- 22:02Speaker 1: mean that's a fair point. Yeah, he was in a
- 22:05Speaker 1: Super Bowl commercial this year too. That's just it's nuts.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it was Raisin brand, that's right. Yeah, it
- 22:14Speaker 2: was raising.
- 22:14Speaker 1: He was eating cereal in the car and people are like,
- 22:16Speaker 1: what are you doing it just for a commercial?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Yep, yep, so god, okay.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah no, but your top five solid fikes so nice? Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: all right, Well, should we get to the main topic
- 22:34Speaker 1: and talk about the box office?
- 22:36Speaker 2: Let's do it?
- 22:37Speaker 1: Okay, fun? Well, now come out.
- 22:44Speaker 2: We should do that for a show sometime. Our top
- 22:46Speaker 2: five favorite characters and our top five least favorite characters.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Oh that would be you can discuss who our least
- 22:52Speaker 2: favorite character is and why it's.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that would be fun. Actually, that's a good show,
- 22:59Speaker 1: you know what. That Okay, I'll bring this up now
- 23:01Speaker 1: because hit as well. Uh so, I was gonna put
- 23:03Speaker 1: in the group in our Facebook group. So if you're
- 23:05Speaker 1: not in our Facebook group, you definitely need to join.
- 23:08Speaker 1: We are on social media all across trek Cast TNG,
- 23:12Speaker 1: but on Facebook we have the trek Cast Facebook group.
- 23:15Speaker 1: But I'm gonna put a post up there. We would
- 23:18Speaker 1: love show ideas from you guys. What do you guys
- 23:19Speaker 1: want us to talk about? You know, it's it's a
- 23:22Speaker 1: little bit slower now with Star Trek especially now that
- 23:24Speaker 1: knows news shows are in production and no movie is
- 23:27Speaker 1: officially in production. They're just kind of developing it right now.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So you know, what do you guys want us to
- 23:33Speaker 1: talk about? What do you want to hear from us?
- 23:35Speaker 1: Love to hear that? So there you goes yeah, and
- 23:40Speaker 1: Chasm Yeah, it's a fun group. And Chasmin's is saying
- 23:44Speaker 1: it's a hard one to decide your top five Star
- 23:48Speaker 1: Trek characters.
- 23:48Speaker 2: It's true.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they're all my babies. They're all my babies. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: but uh yeah, So just to give you a an idea,
- 24:00Speaker 1: right when when I say big movie years, let let's
- 24:03Speaker 1: talk about some big movie years, like nineteen eighty four.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Right in nineteen eighty four we had Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones
- 24:13Speaker 1: and The Temple of Doom, The Terminator, Beverly Hills, Cop Grimlins,
- 24:18Speaker 1: and The Karate Kid all in the same year, right.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Then, much bigger than that, yeah, right.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Then in eighty nine we had Batman, Indiana Jones, The
- 24:30Speaker 1: Last Crusade, Back to the Future Part two, Ghostbusters Part two,
- 24:34Speaker 1: and The Little Mermaid. Right yeah, so so big big
- 24:39Speaker 1: movie years. Then in we'll move up a few years.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Twenty fifteen we had Star Wars, The Force Awakens, Avengers,
- 24:47Speaker 1: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, Fury, Mad Max, Fury Road,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and Inside Out. So another big year. But you know,
- 24:57Speaker 1: and that's like five six big movies in a year,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and that's considered a big big year. But this year,
- 25:03Speaker 1: twenty twenty six, I'm just gonna give you just a
- 25:07Speaker 1: handful of them. Off the top, We've got The Odyssey, Avengers,
- 25:12Speaker 1: Dooms Day, Spider Man, Brand New Day, Dune Part three,
- 25:16Speaker 1: The Mandalorian and Coro gru Toy Story five, Supergirl, The Project,
- 25:23Speaker 1: Hail Mary, Disclosure Day, Masters of the Universe. And that's
- 25:29Speaker 1: just the top ten. Like there there's even more. Yeah, right,
- 25:33Speaker 1: we didn't we didn't even get into like the Douvilwares
- 25:35Speaker 1: Product three or two, which was a big deal, much
- 25:38Speaker 1: less the Street Fighter movie or the the one that
- 25:42Speaker 1: just came out, the Mortal Kombat two.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Is the Fighter movie coming out?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a Street Fighter movie coming out this year. Yeah. Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: so big big movie year, so you know, much less.
- 25:56Speaker 1: We didn't even get into clay Face or Supergirl or like,
- 26:01Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot so I oh, yeah, as
- 26:06Speaker 1: was Michael Yeah, the Michael Jackson bio, Yeah, which which
- 26:10Speaker 1: is making a ton of money right now. So yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: I just kind of wanted to go over some of
- 26:17Speaker 1: these talk about what we're excited about. But before we
- 26:22Speaker 1: go through the list, Scott, what what is?
- 26:24Speaker 2: Uh?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Do you have any offhand that you're that you know
- 26:27Speaker 1: are coming out this year that you're excited about?
- 26:29Speaker 2: Oh? By far, we talked about it before the show started.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Mm hmmm The Devil. Where's proud of too?
- 26:36Speaker 1: That's right far and away?
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, big big Meryl Street fan. Absolutely, and I never
- 26:42Speaker 2: saw I never saw the first one. Really, I heard
- 26:46Speaker 2: all the type about it, but yeah, I haven't. I
- 26:50Speaker 2: haven't seen the first one. So maybe maybe I'll check
- 26:52Speaker 2: him out, because I mean, apparently they're good movies.
- 26:55Speaker 1: At least I've seen the first one. It's surprisingly good.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I I am very much looking forward to Everybody knows
- 27:04Speaker 2: that Dan and I are big Superman fans. Yeah, so
- 27:06Speaker 2: I am looking forward to Supergirl. I Uh, I think
- 27:11Speaker 2: it's gonna be good. I think it's gonna be a
- 27:12Speaker 2: lot different than a lot of people are expecting. It's
- 27:15Speaker 2: gonna have Lobo, Uh, it's it's Yeah, I'm looking forward
- 27:20Speaker 2: to seeing what they do with that franchise.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So I mean I wish you'd have had Los Lobos, the
- 27:26Speaker 1: the Hispanic you know, band right, I'll take Lobo.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean maybe they'll be they'll have a cameo, Maybe
- 27:34Speaker 2: people will can maybe people will confuse the two, you.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Know as Lobo fights LaBamba plays. I mean that'd be Yeah,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I'd like that too, Yes, yeah, wo.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Mandalorin and Grogu is another one that I'm looking forward to.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Oh, you're the guy that's excited about it.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that, Uh, there's some issues with it.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I think people like me are going to be the
- 27:58Speaker 2: ones going to the theater. And by people like me,
- 28:01Speaker 2: I mean the ones who have seen all of the
- 28:04Speaker 2: Mandalorian and all of the Book of Fat And that's
- 28:08Speaker 2: not every Star Wars fan.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm sure you. Brian is talking about the first the
- 28:17Speaker 1: Devil Wars product. He says, I've seen the first one
- 28:21Speaker 1: countless times. How have you not seen it? Have you
- 28:23Speaker 1: been in the dungeon with Chad?
- 28:27Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I will put it on my on my
- 28:30Speaker 2: on the list. I'll put it on the list.
- 28:32Speaker 1: It's a great it's a great Mother's Day movie. Okay,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you're gonna have the ladies there, your your mom your
- 28:38Speaker 1: wife watch it today. Yeah, there you go, there you go.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Obviously spider Man, Spider Man.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that looks.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Looking forward to. Uh, there's an Avengers movie coming out
- 28:53Speaker 2: this year.
- 28:53Speaker 1: That's right, Avengers do today a big one.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yes, we haven't had a we haven't had a big,
- 29:00Speaker 2: big Marvel movie in a minute.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and we just had Avengers movies in seven years.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I mean, you can argue that what was it the
- 29:13Speaker 1: the one that wasn't an Avengers movie that ended up
- 29:15Speaker 1: being one? What was that? The Thunderbolts?
- 29:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and that was a serviceable movie, but I
- 29:24Speaker 2: don't think it was the you know, it was the
- 29:28Speaker 2: B team. Yeah, yeah, and it was supposed to be
- 29:32Speaker 2: the B team, but it was the B team, right.
- 29:33Speaker 2: So yeah, but we haven't had you know, yeah, Thunderbolts
- 29:38Speaker 2: was good. Red or Red Hawk, New Captain American movie
- 29:41Speaker 2: was okay. Yeah, but yeah, we haven't had a really huge,
- 29:49Speaker 2: you know, blockbuster Marvel movie I think since Endgame.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I mean, you can argue Guardians of the Galaxy three
- 29:59Speaker 1: was pretty big. You can argue, yeah, it was Spider
- 30:03Speaker 1: Man No Way Home was big. That was after Endgame.
- 30:06Speaker 2: That was after Endgame. That was probably the biggest one
- 30:08Speaker 2: that I can think of. Yeah, I didn't. I did
- 30:12Speaker 2: like Guardians three, just because they toned down the It
- 30:18Speaker 2: was just about saving one person, it was about saving
- 30:21Speaker 2: the galaxy. It was they toned down the stakes. And
- 30:24Speaker 2: I really enjoyed that.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Me too, Me too, I really liked that movie. You know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: one movie I know that we as a show are
- 30:31Speaker 1: very excited about is Masters of the Universe. Yeah. At
- 30:37Speaker 1: the toy show I went to, there's very much the
- 30:40Speaker 1: movie tax on all the Masters of the Universe toys.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Well I can imagine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm looking forward
- 30:45Speaker 2: to that one too, because we haven't other than the
- 30:50Speaker 2: that nineteen eighty whatever that we just watched Dolph Wondern.
- 30:55Speaker 2: That's right, the traiser hasn't there. Yeah, there hasn't been
- 30:58Speaker 2: a ton of he Man stuff as far as movies go.
- 31:02Speaker 2: That was it.
- 31:03Speaker 1: No, No, movies wise. No, I mean there's a ton
- 31:06Speaker 1: of shows and cartoon.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's been some shows that they redid and stuff
- 31:10Speaker 2: like that, made a more modern version. But yeah, I
- 31:14Speaker 2: went back and I watched some episodes of the original
- 31:18Speaker 2: eighties he Man. Yeah, and that was rough.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the original cartoon is rough.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't hold up the way like thunder No.
- 31:31Speaker 1: For my money, I think that the two thousand and
- 31:34Speaker 1: two series is probably like the better, more streamlined version
- 31:39Speaker 1: of the eighties show. Okay, and still kind of holds up.
- 31:42Speaker 1: But yeah. Some other movies that are coming out that
- 31:47Speaker 1: that we might be excited about Disclosure Day, the return
- 31:51Speaker 1: of Steven Spielberg to Aliens.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was just reading about that one too that.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I think that looks great. I cannot wait for that one.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gonna be a good one. Anything really he's
- 32:07Speaker 2: attached to is mm hmm, you know, pretty golden. But yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Uh.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Other on this list too is Godzilla Minus one Part two,
- 32:21Speaker 1: which there's a new Godzilla movie coming out this year.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Godzilla. Yeah, so for everybody it's into that what a
- 32:27Speaker 2: what do they call it the monster verse?
- 32:29Speaker 1: Well, this isn't the monster verse, this is the this
- 32:32Speaker 1: is the ones.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Would I don't know if you saw Godzilla Godzilla zero
- 32:38Speaker 1: or minus zero.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I don't think I did.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I went with some I have some friends that
- 32:45Speaker 1: are like hardcore into Godzilla, and so we went to
- 32:48Speaker 1: the theaters. Do that movie was so emotionally dramatic, Like
- 32:54Speaker 1: I nearly cried it was that deep. Yeah, had a
- 32:58Speaker 1: Godzilla movie like it is just so emotionally impacting.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Yeah, sounds like they were almost tying to try to
- 33:05Speaker 2: tell a story.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yes, it's amazing what you can do when you try
- 33:09Speaker 1: to tell the story. They also had the special effects
- 33:15Speaker 1: in it were amazing, like Godzilla looks so real.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, okay, definitely.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Recommend that one.
- 33:25Speaker 2: So we got the cast for a street Fighter. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 2: Jason Momoa as Blanca Blanca. Fantastic. Yeah, another one too.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Uh uh. Oliver Richards he was the bad guy in
- 33:46Speaker 2: I think the last Reacher A season. Huh. He's just
- 33:53Speaker 2: a joant. I mean he's he's bigger than Alan Richson.
- 33:56Speaker 1: You're right.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah, he's playing Zanke Okay, yeah, yeah, I've always pronounced it. Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 2: he's playing Singy. I don't recognize the actors playing Chun Lee,
- 34:10Speaker 2: Colleena Lang.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:12Speaker 2: All these people look absolutely gorgeous. I mean they're just
- 34:15Speaker 2: beautiful people. So yeah that looks uh so Ball Rock Yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 2: Ball Rock. It's played by fifty fifty cent Yeah that's great.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I love it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Yeah, there's some wrestlers in there too, Roman and Cody
- 34:40Speaker 1: Rhodes is guile okay, okay, yeah, and uh and Bison
- 34:47Speaker 1: is played by the Bolkadot man, which.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Is interesting really Yeah yeah, okay, So who is this
- 34:54Speaker 2: playing in Honda? Is he a wrestler to Uh, he's
- 34:59Speaker 2: not a pro wrestler that okay.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not a pro wrestler that I know of.
- 35:06Speaker 2: No, Okay, but I don't know them all. Okay, he
- 35:10Speaker 2: has that look about him.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Okay, okay, but yeah, it's I mean, that's gonna be
- 35:15Speaker 1: a big movie, right.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Just this weekend we had Mortal Kombat Too released with Carl.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Rub I didn't see, okay, So my wife asked me.
- 35:26Speaker 2: She's like, did we see the first one? And I'm like,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I don't think we did. I don't we saw Mortal
- 35:32Speaker 2: Kombat from years and years ago. Yeah. One of the
- 35:34Speaker 2: first movies we saw together was the original Mortal Kombat.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Like I d maybe VHS, but I think I'm gonna
- 35:43Speaker 2: put that on the list of things to watch as
- 35:44Speaker 2: Mortal Kombat one. Yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 1: So the first one came out during COVID and it
- 35:49Speaker 1: was one of those that was released on on HBO
- 35:53Speaker 1: Max and in the theaters on the same day, so
- 35:57Speaker 1: nobody went to see other theater. So it didn't make
- 35:59Speaker 1: any money. Everyone watched it at home, but it was
- 36:03Speaker 1: one of I think it was the biggest most watched
- 36:07Speaker 1: movie on HBO maxt okay. So so they realized, okay,
- 36:12Speaker 1: people are watching this thing and and so that's why
- 36:15Speaker 1: they did gave it a sequel. One of the big
- 36:18Speaker 1: things that was against it was the big you know,
- 36:21Speaker 1: Mortal Kombat tournament does not happen at all in the
- 36:24Speaker 1: first movie. And then they introduced a new character named
- 36:29Speaker 1: Cole that nobody liked.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So yeah, did they and ever incorporate Cole into the
- 36:35Speaker 2: video games?
- 36:37Speaker 1: As far as I know, he is not. He's just
- 36:40Speaker 1: new for the movie. And and from what I understand is, uh,
- 36:44Speaker 1: he was the big lead for part one and then
- 36:47Speaker 1: in part two then one that just came out. I
- 36:50Speaker 1: think he's got three minutes of screen time as.
- 36:53Speaker 2: They saw which way the wind was blowing. And yes, yeah,
- 36:56Speaker 2: growing up there you had two camps. You had the
- 36:59Speaker 2: kids that played Mortal Kombat and the kids that played
- 37:02Speaker 2: Street Fighter. That's right, was the kid I I put.
- 37:05Speaker 2: I put so many hours into my Superintendent playing Street
- 37:08Speaker 2: Fighter two. That was my jam. I've played Mortal Kombat
- 37:13Speaker 2: but I don't know any of the moves or anything
- 37:15Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, so, which I was at a disadvantage
- 37:19Speaker 2: because the Injustice, the video games and Justice I think
- 37:24Speaker 2: are based on the Mortal Kombat like style and moves
- 37:29Speaker 2: and the same engine, I think, which put me at
- 37:34Speaker 2: a little bit of a disadvantage because I wasn't used
- 37:36Speaker 2: to that kind of gameplay. But if they made a
- 37:39Speaker 2: DC street Fighter type game, I can't get everybody's ass.
- 37:47Speaker 1: I mean they did do that that. There is a
- 37:50Speaker 1: Mortal Kombat versus DC, and it's pretty great.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Right, but it's Mortal It's a Mortal Kombat based.
- 37:57Speaker 1: It's Mortal Kombat. Yeah, yeah, yeah, were whereas I think
- 38:01Speaker 1: there is a Marvel versus Capcom and so that has
- 38:04Speaker 1: some of the street Fighter characters.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that was I was fit first introduced to that
- 38:08Speaker 2: at the arcade. That was a big arcade. Yeah, that
- 38:12Speaker 2: was like a big like six player like. It was
- 38:14Speaker 2: a huge machine that I look up to six people
- 38:19Speaker 2: could gather around and play at the same time.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 1: All right. Some other movies that are coming out. We
- 38:26Speaker 1: got Scream seven, which that already came out and did
- 38:31Speaker 1: pretty well. We have Scary movie six, which I believe
- 38:36Speaker 1: comes out the same day as as Masters of the Universe,
- 38:40Speaker 1: So that'll be.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Interesting, all right.
- 38:42Speaker 1: That The big thing for that one is it's the
- 38:44Speaker 1: return of the weigh Ins to those films. We've also
- 38:49Speaker 1: got The Adventures of Cliff Booth. So if you were
- 38:52Speaker 1: a once upon a Time in Hollywood fan that Quentin
- 38:55Speaker 1: Tarantino film, this would be Brad Pitt's character is. They're
- 39:01Speaker 1: doing a sequel with him, and I think it's David
- 39:05Speaker 1: Fincher who is directing the new movie. We also have
- 39:09Speaker 1: got one we haven't even talked about, and I'm very
- 39:12Speaker 1: excited about Clay Face. Yes, yeah, I don't know if
- 39:17Speaker 1: you guys have seen the trailer, but it looks like
- 39:19Speaker 1: a body horror film. I'm not a body horror guy,
- 39:22Speaker 1: and that thing looks amazing to me, So I can't wait.
- 39:27Speaker 1: We have the movie we weren't supposed to see, Coyote
- 39:30Speaker 1: Versus Acme. Originally, Warner Brothers did Batgirl this movie and
- 39:38Speaker 1: say they were gonna take a tax deduction, heap break,
- 39:43Speaker 1: tax break, and people were really pissed, and somehow they
- 39:46Speaker 1: decided to sell it to a company, and this company
- 39:49Speaker 1: is now releasing the film. Apparently it's a great film,
- 39:52Speaker 1: a lot of fun.
- 39:53Speaker 2: So okay.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Yeah. What I really love is if you watch the trailer,
- 40:02Speaker 1: they still have to legally show that Warner Brothers is
- 40:04Speaker 1: part of it because Warner Brothers made the movie, but
- 40:07Speaker 1: it'll say it'll say Warner Brothers and then the really
- 40:09Speaker 1: small print at the bottom it says a division of
- 40:11Speaker 1: the ACME Company. That's pretty great. Yeah, uh, we got
- 40:18Speaker 1: oh back rooms. Do you know anything about back rooms?
- 40:22Speaker 2: No?
- 40:23Speaker 1: Okay, so this is going to be a horror movie
- 40:25Speaker 1: that's coming out. The idea is the back Rooms is
- 40:29Speaker 1: an internet phenomenon. I don't know chat if you guys
- 40:33Speaker 1: have known about the back Rooms, but basically it is
- 40:36Speaker 1: a series of videos by this young kid. I think
- 40:39Speaker 1: he was like seventeen when he made these videos. And
- 40:41Speaker 1: the idea is behind reality is another like dimension, and
- 40:48Speaker 1: it's like endless office space and there are monsters and
- 40:53Speaker 1: you get lost in it and it's just, you know,
- 40:56Speaker 1: this horrible place you don't ever want to get trapped in,
- 40:59Speaker 1: and it's called the back rooms, you know, much.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Like what I can't pronounce his name?
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yeah, should we tell the idiot? I can't pronounce it either.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Yeah, four, Yes, he was. He was in Doctor Strange,
- 41:18Speaker 1: he was in Serenity, Serenity.
- 41:21Speaker 2: He was a bad guy.
- 41:22Speaker 1: He was a bad guy Serenity. He's a great actor.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Yep.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait for this film. I think it's
- 41:29Speaker 1: gonna be great. I really love that it started as
- 41:32Speaker 1: just a series of YouTube videos and now it's going
- 41:34Speaker 1: to be a movie. And it's the same kid. I
- 41:37Speaker 1: think the guy's like nineteen now who is making this movie?
- 41:42Speaker 2: So yeah, this, yeah, definitely looks interesting.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Another big one. I don't know if it'll be big,
- 41:47Speaker 1: but Digger this is the uh we don't know much
- 41:51Speaker 1: about it, but it is a comedy starring Tom Cruise.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I don't know all I've seen his images with him
- 41:59Speaker 1: and shovel So.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Tom Cruise, Sandra Huler mm hmm. The most powerful man
- 42:07Speaker 2: in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove
- 42:09Speaker 2: he is humanity's savior. Before there you go, before the disaster,
- 42:15Speaker 2: he's unleashed.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, yeah.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Another one we got is we have the return of J. J.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Abrams to theaters with what is the name of that movie?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Flowerville Street, the street that uh somehow ends up with dinosaurs.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Uh, I have no idea.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Is J. J.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Abrams directing, or I know he's got some Oh it's
- 42:49Speaker 1: his company Bad Robot that's putting it together.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 42:51Speaker 1: But basically, yeah, this neighborhood from the eighties just somehow
- 42:56Speaker 1: gets ripped out of its neighborhood and put into like
- 43:02Speaker 1: a land of the Lost with dinosaurs and whatever. And
- 43:05Speaker 1: how did that happen? And what's going on?
- 43:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 43:08Speaker 1: Okay, it's also got you and McGregor in it.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Oh, okay, So the movie's called Yeah, I just I
- 43:17Speaker 2: just lost.
- 43:18Speaker 1: It Flower Flower Vale Station Street, flower Vale Street?
- 43:23Speaker 2: Is it the end of Oak Street?
- 43:25Speaker 1: And that's it? The end of Oak Street?
- 43:27Speaker 2: And okay because somehow when I typed in Flowerville, it
- 43:32Speaker 2: came the end of Oak Street came up. The Black
- 43:34Speaker 2: family band together to navigate their new surroundings after cosmic
- 43:38Speaker 2: after a cosmic event transport their suburban neighborhood to someplace unknown. Yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 2: and Anne Hathaway Ian McGregor mm hmm. Yeah, so far,
- 43:50Speaker 2: so good.
- 43:52Speaker 1: We've got another resident Evil movie coming out. This one
- 43:55Speaker 1: is being directed and written by Zach Gregor, who he
- 43:58Speaker 1: did that big movie Weapons. He also did Barbarian So
- 44:04Speaker 1: this guy is just bat in a thousand on creepy
- 44:08Speaker 1: horror films, and now he's getting a crack at Resident Evil.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Some fans of the games are upset, though, that that
- 44:16Speaker 1: it does not take place during the games. It's more
- 44:19Speaker 1: like just being stuck in the Resident Evil world.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So, okay, okay, whatever I mean.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I'm not a big games.
- 44:27Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan of Resident Evil. My wife
- 44:29Speaker 2: loves the movies.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Oh, she's really played the video games, but she likes
- 44:33Speaker 2: the movies.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Well, she might want to see this movie.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Paul Walter Houser is in it, so oh is he? Yeah?
- 44:44Speaker 2: I love that guy, Yeah, so do I so do.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I In fact, that one of his movies is on
- 44:49Speaker 2: my list, the one where he's I forgot his name.
- 44:54Speaker 2: In the movie he plays the security guard that finds
- 44:57Speaker 2: the bomb for the ninety five Olympic bombing.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw that.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Movie, Richard Richard Jewel. Yeah, it looks.
- 45:08Speaker 1: It's a really good.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Some of these movies, and I think this is designed
- 45:12Speaker 2: by the studios. But every once in a while, you're
- 45:14Speaker 2: going through TikTok and you'll see clips from slightly older movies.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Mm hm and and their clips of like once some
- 45:22Speaker 2: of their best scenes and you get an itch and
- 45:24Speaker 2: you just have to watch that movie now.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, if I remember right, Richard Jewell was directed
- 45:32Speaker 1: by Clint Eastwood.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, No, it's a good movie. It's a really
- 45:40Speaker 1: good movie. Another movie that that's coming out later this
- 45:43Speaker 1: year is The Legend of Bang, the Last Airbunder. This
- 45:47Speaker 1: is the This was supposed to be released in theaters.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Then unfortunately a hacker broke into Paramount and released it
- 45:56Speaker 1: on Twitter not that long ago. So the movie completely done,
- 46:02Speaker 1: was on Twitter still is as far as I understand it,
- 46:05Speaker 1: and you can watch it now.
- 46:07Speaker 2: How does that work?
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, somehow he broke in and got it.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Somebody got fired for that one.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Well he he got arrested and on the hacker, Yeah
- 46:20Speaker 1: he was overseas but they got him. But yeah, we
- 46:25Speaker 1: got a.
- 46:26Speaker 2: To hire people like that. Seriously, they need to like
- 46:30Speaker 2: in the same vein as like the Core okay where
- 46:33Speaker 2: they where they hire that hacker. Uh, they need to
- 46:36Speaker 2: hire people like that because they're clearly smarter than the
- 46:40Speaker 2: people that they have defending these things.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Well there's that, is it? Claud or anthropic one of
- 46:47Speaker 1: the AI companies has basically created an AI that looks
- 46:51Speaker 1: for vulnerabilities and software and yeah, and apparently it is
- 46:59Speaker 1: in saying how vulnerable a lot of different software is,
- 47:04Speaker 1: to the point that they're like, this thing is too dangerous.
- 47:07Speaker 1: We cannot release it to the public and make this,
- 47:11Speaker 1: you know, a potentially viable business. So they have been
- 47:15Speaker 1: reaching out to companies and be like, here is your
- 47:18Speaker 1: problems them know, and like one of them it was
- 47:22Speaker 1: like a I want to see it's like some sort
- 47:25Speaker 1: of banking system that's super like, it's one of the
- 47:29Speaker 1: top levels of encryptions. You're not supposed to be able
- 47:31Speaker 1: to break this thing, and this AI broke it in seconds,
- 47:36Speaker 1: and so big, big deal.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we need that fractal encryption code that data used
- 47:43Speaker 2: in first contact.
- 47:45Speaker 1: That's right, that's right, that's right. Yeah, yeah, uh yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 1: a jury bron they're smatter than the average bear. Yeah,
- 47:53Speaker 1: for sure, for sure.
- 47:55Speaker 2: The AI is interesting and dangerous times when it comes
- 47:59Speaker 2: to AI. Have you've seen there's a there's a new
- 48:02Speaker 2: AI movie clip. I don't know what they put scenes together,
- 48:08Speaker 2: and this is Star Wars and it's uh Anakin and
- 48:12Speaker 2: Palpatine and Anakin is working on his suit. He's walking
- 48:15Speaker 2: around without a suit on. He's working on a suit.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Palpatine walks in and Anakin basically says, this room is
- 48:22Speaker 2: sealed and he didn't want the Emperor to come in.
- 48:25Speaker 2: And the Emperor's like, yeah, and now it's not sealed.
- 48:28Speaker 2: What are you doing to the suit that suits? I
- 48:30Speaker 2: made that suit to specifications and Anakin's like it wasn't
- 48:35Speaker 2: good enough. The breathing apparatus was messed up. And you
- 48:37Speaker 2: can tell there's a there's tension between the two of them. Yeah,
- 48:41Speaker 2: and it's a really good scene and it's all Ai,
- 48:43Speaker 2: It's all yeah, generated now, and I'm like, and they
- 48:47Speaker 2: keep coming out with these scenes, these Star Wars scenes,
- 48:49Speaker 2: these sort of connect the dot scenes, stuff that happened
- 48:52Speaker 2: between episode four, five sixty six and seven. You know,
- 48:59Speaker 2: Luke talking to Force got whoever. I saw one where
- 49:02Speaker 2: Luke was talking to Qui gon Jin mm hmm, you know,
- 49:07Speaker 2: and it looks great. The dialogue's great, the voices are good,
- 49:11Speaker 2: and it's just a really good scene. And I'm like,
- 49:14Speaker 2: I let's ex. Part of me is like I want
- 49:17Speaker 2: to see that expanded. I want to see a ninety
- 49:19Speaker 2: minute you know, they're getting close. They're yeah close.
- 49:25Speaker 1: I saw one that, you know, it caught me because
- 49:29Speaker 1: I was like, what is this? It was the Ninja
- 49:32Speaker 1: Turtles had been selected for Mortal Kombat.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 49:36Speaker 1: You know, because like Mortal Kombat, they picked the champions
- 49:39Speaker 1: of the Earth Realm and they go fight. So it
- 49:41Speaker 1: was it was the Ninja Turtles and it was them fighting. Yeah,
- 49:46Speaker 1: it was really well done.
- 49:47Speaker 2: What version? What version of the Turtles?
- 49:50Speaker 1: It looks like they made up their own kind of
- 49:52Speaker 1: based off of the comics.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Okay, but yeah, because i've seen them, I've seen it
- 49:57Speaker 2: live action nineties version in different scenes of different things.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I think that's probably the most they were
- 50:05Speaker 1: based off of. But they didn't look one for one
- 50:08Speaker 1: for the nineties.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Right right. Yeah, but I've seen scenes that obviously weren't
- 50:15Speaker 2: shot of the Secret of the Ooze era Turtles in
- 50:20Speaker 2: completely new, brand new scenes, fighting brand new people and
- 50:24Speaker 2: characters and stuff, and it looked really good. I'd like
- 50:30Speaker 2: to see that live The AI do a live action
- 50:32Speaker 2: version of There was an animated film. It was Batman
- 50:36Speaker 2: and the Turtles.
- 50:38Speaker 1: It was oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a great movie.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Yeah. And and because the and the fight scene between Shredder,
- 50:44Speaker 2: Shredder and Batman was fantastic.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, I'm going through my through the other list.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I have a few different lists of big movies. This year.
- 50:54Speaker 1: We also have the Death of Robin Hood with Hugh Jackman,
- 50:57Speaker 1: where he plays an old Robin Hood on One Last Adventure.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that looks really good if you haven't seen the trailer.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Also this year, Jackass, Best and Last, the last Jackass film.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Okay, I've never seen Jackass.
- 51:17Speaker 1: It is such a guilty pleasure for me.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Never seen any of them. I don't know.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Uh, some of you parents out there. We've got a
- 51:25Speaker 1: live action Maljana with the rock that literally bad wig.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Yeah, like I think I might see that. Uh.
- 51:34Speaker 1: There's also a new Evil Dead Evil Dead Burn which
- 51:37Speaker 1: they just released the trailer for that this week. Let's
- 51:42Speaker 1: see what else we've got. Oh, this movie, I can't
- 51:46Speaker 1: wait for this one. Super Troopers three.
- 51:51Speaker 2: I saw the first, I haven't seen the second one yet.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Oh, second one's pretty great. I love those movies. They're
- 51:56Speaker 1: a lot of fun. Huh. There's a movie called Cliffhanger.
- 52:03Speaker 1: It's this year. Is it a remake of The Sylvestors Alone?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Villament. I'm looking it up now, I don't think so.
- 52:14Speaker 2: A mountain guide and his daughter Alpine and his daughter's
- 52:18Speaker 2: alpine climbing business in the al Italian Alps faces a
- 52:23Speaker 2: tragic event, forcing them to confront and overcome adversity as
- 52:26Speaker 2: dangerous foes emerge on Unleasi and chaos.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Hum.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Okay, uh, Pierce Brosnan, Lily James Huh. Those are the
- 52:40Speaker 2: only two that I recognize.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Ridley Scott's got a movie coming out this year called
- 52:45Speaker 1: The Dog Stars. It's like some as apocalyptic movies. Yeah,
- 52:53Speaker 1: so that's cool.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that looks like that looks good. That's coming out
- 52:58Speaker 2: in August. Again, I don't recognize. I'm a sure. Oh,
- 53:05Speaker 2: Josh Brolin's gonna be in it. Oh, here we go,
- 53:08Speaker 2: Janny Guy Appeers.
- 53:11Speaker 1: This one's got Catwoman in uh, Lex Luthor, Zoe Kravitz
- 53:15Speaker 1: and Nicholas Hout And it's called How to Rob a Bank?
- 53:20Speaker 1: So there you go. Oh shoot, I didn't know this.
- 53:24Speaker 1: There's a new Tom and Jerry movie coming out, is there?
- 53:27Speaker 2: Really?
- 53:28Speaker 1: Tom and Jerry is Forbidden? Compass comes out in September, okay,
- 53:33Speaker 1: And then there's a Practical Magic too zo Okay, and.
- 53:39Speaker 2: When does the new Avengers movie come out?
- 53:41Speaker 1: I think not until like December.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I'm looking that up now. Yep, December eighteenth. Yeah, see
- 53:49Speaker 2: what else production and it's expected December eighteenth.
- 53:52Speaker 1: So okay, oh, we got we got another Meet the
- 53:57Speaker 1: Fokker's Foker in Law.
- 54:01Speaker 2: I love that series, I really do. It's uh, it's
- 54:04Speaker 2: got the it's got my favorite. One of my favorite
- 54:07Speaker 2: lines in cinema of all time. Uh, it's when she's
- 54:13Speaker 2: talking to Ben Steelers's character after they had the dining
- 54:17Speaker 2: room scene where he's talking about milking mm hmm anything
- 54:22Speaker 2: with nipples. She's like, you never told me about your
- 54:25Speaker 2: cat milking days in Motown. I don't know why. That
- 54:31Speaker 2: just be so funny. Uh you can. You can milk
- 54:36Speaker 2: pretty much anything with nipples, That's right, I have I
- 54:39Speaker 2: have nipples, Greg, could you milk me? Just Robert Dediro
- 54:44Speaker 2: saying that I could you milk me? Yeah? There is
- 54:49Speaker 2: no other movie in the multi verse with that line, no, no,
- 54:55Speaker 2: oh boy.
- 54:56Speaker 1: So yeah, we've also got A Violent Night two is
- 55:01Speaker 1: coming out in December, as is a Angry Birds three,
- 55:05Speaker 1: which I didn't know they were still making Anger Birds films.
- 55:08Speaker 1: But okay, oh, Jazz. Miss Cliffhanger is a remake of
- 55:13Speaker 1: the original.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Okay it is okay, okay.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah, So a lot of big movies, way more than
- 55:21Speaker 1: just like five or six big ones there, and I
- 55:25Speaker 1: skipped a few that you know that are coming out.
- 55:29Speaker 1: There's the Hershey movie that literally a biopic about the
- 55:35Speaker 1: Hershey's Chocolate company.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Really. Yeah, have you moved the factory? And I have not.
- 55:42Speaker 2: I was there once when I was a teenager. It's
- 55:46Speaker 2: pretty fascinating. Yeah, it's it's an interesting town. They've got
- 55:53Speaker 2: everything's based on Hershey chocolate there. Their lamp posts its
- 55:57Speaker 2: shaped like little the tops of the lamp post or
- 55:59Speaker 2: shape like little Hershey kisses. So it's it's a big deal.
- 56:04Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 56:04Speaker 2: So you asked me what my favorite most anticipated one was,
- 56:08Speaker 2: what's your most anticipated? Which one? Are you? Oh? Man?
- 56:14Speaker 2: You know it's a tough one, isn't it.
- 56:16Speaker 1: It's tough, man, because I do like you're Yeah, yeah,
- 56:22Speaker 1: I like different. But yeah, you know, I think for me,
- 56:28Speaker 1: as much as I love my superheroes so much as
- 56:31Speaker 1: I love the Avengers and Spider Man and you know,
- 56:34Speaker 1: Supergirl and all that stuff, and I will definitely go
- 56:36Speaker 1: see those things I think as weird as this sounds,
- 56:41Speaker 1: it is a toss up for me between Masters of
- 56:44Speaker 1: the Universe because the little kid in me cannot wait
- 56:47Speaker 1: for this movie, right, yeah, because it looks like exactly
- 56:50Speaker 1: what I wanted when I was six, And honestly, the
- 56:54Speaker 1: filmmaker guy and me cannot wait for The Odyssey the
- 57:00Speaker 1: Christopher Nolan because I love just how how crazy he
- 57:05Speaker 1: is with making his movies, how he's like, oh, yes,
- 57:08Speaker 1: everything must be authentic. I mean they literally let him
- 57:11Speaker 1: do a real bomb for for uh Oppenheimer. It wasn't
- 57:17Speaker 1: a nuclear bomb, but it was like the next stage
- 57:20Speaker 1: down they let him blow one up. You know. It's yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 1: it's he's insane. He's like, it's gotta be real.
- 57:27Speaker 2: And gotta be real.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Other other movies that we didn't talk about that
- 57:32Speaker 1: are coming out. We have a new Hunger's Game, Sunrise
- 57:36Speaker 1: on the Reaping. Here's a movie I didn't even know
- 57:39Speaker 1: what was coming out, Ebenezer, a Christmas Carol with Johnny
- 57:42Speaker 1: Depp and Ian McKellen and Daisy Ridley. We also got uh.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Huh, I'll watch that.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, you might watch this too.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Uh.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I play Rocky. This is the story of how the
- 57:57Speaker 1: Rocky movie was made, so not a Rocky make, but
- 58:01Speaker 1: how Silver Sister Sloane got them to do Rocky.
- 58:05Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that sounds interesting too, because if you know
- 58:08Speaker 2: anything about that that I mean, that was the beginning
- 58:10Speaker 2: of his career. Yeah, I mean, you know, Sylvester Sloan
- 58:13Speaker 2: wasn't anybody back in those days. And what he passed up,
- 58:18Speaker 2: you know initially, I mean they between the studios. I
- 58:21Speaker 2: don't know the exact story, but he he he bet
- 58:25Speaker 2: on himself, right. They did not want him, No, they
- 58:29Speaker 2: didn't want him to play Rocky. They offered him a
- 58:31Speaker 2: pitody amount to to you know, for the rights, and
- 58:34Speaker 2: you know, for for a starving actor. It was a
- 58:38Speaker 2: ridiculous amount of money to to give, you know, to
- 58:42Speaker 2: give up. And he just said, yeah.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I mean he was broke. He sold his dog at
- 58:46Speaker 1: one Yeah.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he was dead broke and dead broke.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I think he landed on his feet.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he's doing okay now.
- 58:57Speaker 2: So they say the poor guy had to do tell
- 59:00Speaker 2: division just to pay rent. I'm you know, recently but yeah, yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 2: so have you has anybody have you watched Tulsa King?
- 59:09Speaker 1: I have not. I want to. It's on my list,
- 59:12Speaker 1: and I just have not It's good.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I one of the things I like about it is
- 59:16Speaker 2: that each season starts and finishes the storyline, not a
- 59:22Speaker 2: ton of bleedover. You know, it's not a lot of
- 59:24Speaker 2: cliff I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers. I they
- 59:29Speaker 2: just did a cliffhanger for the Rookie that I didn't like.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Hmmm. I have not watched The Rookie, but I hear
- 59:36Speaker 1: good things.
- 59:37Speaker 2: That's a really good show. That's a really good show. Yeah,
- 59:42Speaker 2: Nathan Fillan is he's golden and just about everything he does.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he's really good. He's really really good.
- 59:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Well that's that's all the movies that are you know,
- 59:53Speaker 1: there's a lot more, but just safe to say this
- 59:55Speaker 1: is going to be a big, big year. So oh yeah,
- 59:59Speaker 1: oh let's get to listener feedback and uh Chasmusin has

- 1:00:56Speaker 1: So that's right, there you go.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: That's yeah, that's really how I got I start on
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: the show. That is, I left, I left, you know,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: a voicemailer two. And then I started doing the pack
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: lid review and then uh, you did the pad reviews. Yeah,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: I'm I'm I originated the pack Lid reviews.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I thought it was backs and you were FACI.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Well, what I meant was I facilitated it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, I facilitated it. Yeah, okay, there I got with.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: I got with mister Paclad who doesn't want his doesn't
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: want his Christian name given on the show. Indeed, indeed,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: because we don't know what his name is, so did
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: we mentioned emails to oh yeah, yeah, yeah trek cast
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: t G at gmail dot com. And then some special.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I have my own a strong beard one one at
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: gmail dot com. If you email me especially, please tell
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: me how to phonetically pronounce your name so we don't
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: have any more U missteps. Isn't that right, Venice?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Well, let's uh, let's bring on Chas Biz. He's waiting,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: so let's let's bring him in. Here we go. There
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: he is out in the celestial temple again.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: The sun is it's a cloudy day. You can see
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: there's yeah.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Yeah, So jess what what movies are you excited about
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: this year?
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: Man, Uh, I would say I would like to see Troy.
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: I think that's a big one for me, like the
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: movie Fan okay, and what else I don't I don't know.
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: I kind of want to see Toy Story five. But
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: Toy Story three was so perfect they never needed to
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: make another Toy Story after that one.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Four, I was emotionally broken.
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it was like five or three was like really
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: the best one.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not afraid to admit I saw a Toy
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Story four and I bawled my eyes out. I cried
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: so hard at the end of that movie. I was,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Oh my god, you know, like I said, it was
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: an emotional kick in the nuts.
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: Yeah, the three three did that to me. I was like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: oh man, that was like the end of the pretty much.
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: You know, I found a new home.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Yeah, are you going to watch.
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: The said goodbye?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Yeah? Are you gonna watch Jackass?
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: Uh? I'll have to watch it. My wife hates Jackass,
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: so there's just no way. I took her to that
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: bad Grandma movie and she walked.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Oh no, Yeah, you got to know your audience sometimes.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, it's like.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I would definitely go see Jackass, but that's me.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: Are you gonna see Mortal Kombat this week?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I don't have time this week?
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: What about the Sheep Detectives?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: That's honestly, that's the one I rather go see.
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: And I had got really good reviews.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: So yeah it looks hilarious. Yeah, so I rather see
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Sheep Detectives.
- 1:04:15Speaker 6: Well, I mean, who killed the Hugh Jackman? That's the
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: whole thing, that's right, that's right, got to figure it out.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh does Ray saying it was Toy Story three?
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Actually that was had.
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: The yeah saying that's the best one.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Yeah three, Yeah, that's that one. Yeah, that is the
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: one I'm thinking of that that's the one with Kelsey grammar.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Yes, that Yeah, that's the one that everyone says they
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: should have ended on. Yes, like four four was good,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: it wasn't bad, but.
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: It's a cash grab. It's let's bring the guy's back.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Toy story three ruined me emotionally.
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: And then this one, you know, with technology and every thing.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: I think this one's you know, with the iPad. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: because you know toys. You know, kids are so distracted
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: right now, they have a d D.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I wonder what they're gonna say with that, because
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: you can't just say, don't give them iPads because it's
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: not realistic.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Not gonna work. My kid uses a chromebook for school. Yeah,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: you know, it's it's it's part of the world.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: It's yeah.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Oh, apparently we all cried, according to right, Yes, we
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: all did cry.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: Yes, he sat there. He's like, I can't get up right,
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: I have to cover my face, right, that's right.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Also, I don't remember if we saw that in theaters
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: or not, but I do remember, just like you know,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: at the end of that, I mean I was dehydrated.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: They had spend ten dollars on a coke coming out
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: of the movie theater.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: So yeah, are you gonna get any Uh, is there
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: any popcorn buckets that you've seen that you're interested in?
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: That Mando one looks kind of cool. The ones like
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: they got several of them. It was kind of cool
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: that the he man the.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Sword, Oh, the sword is the one I want.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: I was like, I don't know, I would love to
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: get to the movie theater and see somebody fill that up.
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: Have you seen because you might have a person in
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: front of you.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: It's the movie version of the sword, which kind of
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: looks like the eighties cartoon one. Right, Yeah, but it'll
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: hold forty ounces of a drink popcorn bucket.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: Yeah. I posted it on the on the Facebook grip.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Oh oh, you're saying the drink this one is a drink.
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: Yes, the sword is a drink.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: It's a can sword drink holder.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, it's insane.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Is the castle castle grace yeah? Yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: And the castle one one of the towers is is
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: your soda you can drink? Yeah, So like the courtyard
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: is where you hold the popcorn, but your SODA's right there,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: and then like the top of the head of the
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: castle you can pop it open and you can put
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: your candy in there too. Like the castle is well
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: not out, yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: Yep, I wonder how much that is, probably like eighty
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: dollars or something.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Probably, I mean they're doing a cash grab.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: With he man, like, I'm excited. What's the Dune bucket
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: gonna look like this year?
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: It's like it's Dune three. They gotta outperform that last bucket.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I mean yeah, or they do another version of it.
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: Well, it's funny because the Dune one started all this stuff,
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: you know, that didn't have like all the crazy buckets
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: until the you know, Dune came out with that.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: I'm looking at the the courtyard for the popcorn, and
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: then one of the back castley things is the drink holder.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, yeah, no, that's that's the one to get.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I don't know, man, the sword too, that looks awesome.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: So it's like the sword looks awesome.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and then it looks like the sword so like
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and it's like full size like it's yeah, so.
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: I think it'd be funny for us refillable and you
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: just take that all year for your refillable drink.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: The only thing I see is when I look at
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: that sword, though, is it's going to be a nightmare
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: to clean, like if you fill that thing up with
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: with soda, you know, because of all the weird little yeah, well,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: all the weird little shapes of the sword, Like you're
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: not going to get a brush in there to clean
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: that thing out, you know. So I mean for me,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: if I'm getting it, I'm not getting yeah.
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: Yeah, Well, they'll give you a cup. You just say like, hey,
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: can I have a drink?
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Yeah, mod buy this? Just give me a drink.
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: On the side, they'll usually give you a popcorn backet.
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: You don't have to fill it up with popcorn.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the cool thing. Okay, we'll kind of have aout.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I just saw here on Facebook. William Shatner has posted
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: on Facebook Happy Mother's Day, wishing all mothers a wonderful
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: and carefree day. Thank you for all you do for
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: your Family's my best bill.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: Oh there you go, Yeah, there you got the shot.
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: I'll tell you why Shatner is one awesome dude.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Oh for sure.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Yeah you know, yeah, he's.
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: Yeah that that man has lived a life was it
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: ninety five?
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Yes, there is.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: I mean, that's amazing.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: The shat missus strong Beard and mister strong Beard. He City,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: the City.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, those are his Happy Mother's Day happy Yes.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: So all right, well I think we're winding it down.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Uh so once again a reminder I might to put
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: up that in the group. Uh what topics you guys
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: want us to talk about? So make sure your answering
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: that post. We'd love to get some ideas from you.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: We have some ideas, but we'd love to hear more,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: Okay, I got an idea. Which movie do you think
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: is going to make the most this summer?
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I don't know this summer, but let's say this year, right.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Yeah, spider Man or Doomsday I think is going to
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: be a bocking.
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: I almost think Spider Man might be Doomsday. I don't know.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I could see Spider Man beating Doomsday because we I.
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: Mean that last Spider Man made a ton of money.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: But also he's not gonna make as much money as
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: they want yeah to think huh.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I said Odyssey it could hit you know, if
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: it's good, it could hit a billion.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Yeah. And this is the like apparently this is the
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: movie Christopher Nolan has been wanting to make for like
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: since he started being a director.
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: Well, I think he was supposed to direct Troy and
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: something happened, so.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Yeah he can direct that.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean this is this is like his
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: magnum opus. So I I kind of think it might
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: be Odyssey.
- 1:11:34Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, honesty, it's gonna be wep there Doomsday.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Yeah, Zendia, Charlis,
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Charlie s Theron, who had all these no name actors,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: John Berenthal.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: It's so funny that. Yeah, there's a new trailer. There's
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: a new trailer for it, and in it you've got
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Robert Patton And and Tom Holland doing a scene together. Right,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: And so the entire time I'm watching this, I'm just thinking,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: man Batman is such a dick to Spider Man.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, got, It's got a couple of names
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: in it. Yeah. What is this is? This is a okay,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: after the Trojan War a day, I don't know how
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: to pronounce it, okay, face is a dangerous voyage back
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: to Okay. So this isn't a remake, this isn't a sequel.
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: This is this is like if you read the Iliad,
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: this is as adventure.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: So okay, yeah, I don't. I didn't. I didn't do
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: a lot of reading.
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: It's really funny because I think it was earlier this
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: month or maybe last month, but they announced that there
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: was a a mummy found in Egypt and in within
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: the stomach of the mummy, within its guts, was a
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: copy of the Iliad.
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: That's crazy.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's interesting how how long of those cultures
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: have been talking to each other, you know, y.
- 1:13:10Speaker 6: Like long long time ago.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, eight or so. Yeah.
- 1:13:15Speaker 6: So I mean that's I'm actually reading that right now,
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: the Ilien because oh nice, something in literature I didn't learn.
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: And I just previously read the Odyssey, and I was like, oh,
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: maybe I should have read the Iliod first.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: So I guess it's you know, I may have to
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: do that too.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it sounds like an audiobook. I'll have to
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: look into yeah and look for that.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Al Right. Well, I think that's wrapping it up. But
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: we will be back next time. I don't know next
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: week or not. We'll figure it out.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm available next weekend, but not the fun.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: All right, all right, we'll figure it out, all right,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: all right, not to you guys later, but you guys.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: So yeah, This is Captain Benjamin Cisco of Deep Space
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: nine and Space God to the Bajorans. I have a
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: mission for you. This falls outside of Starfleet guidelines, so
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: I can't order you, but I'm asking for volunteers. Volunteers

- 1:14:15Speaker 4: star reviews on your podcast app of choice, and share

- 1:14:22Speaker 4: make our audience bigger, we might have a chance against
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: the dominion.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: Subscribe, like, and share?
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: Are you with me?
