- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: AM six forty and now Handle on the news. Ladies
- 0:15Speaker 1: and gentlemen, here's not Bill Handle.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Do you ever notice how Handle starts every time that
- 0:25Speaker 2: Mike goes on, he goes and he says and before everything,
- 0:29Speaker 2: watch next time you're gonna die. You're gonna die. I'm
- 0:33Speaker 2: so accurate. KFI AM six forty live everywhere on the
- 0:38Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app. Good Friday morning to you. Ah, this is
- 0:42Speaker 2: one of my favorites. We're gonna ask Handle anything. This
- 0:45Speaker 2: is great because people ask me questions. It's gonna be
- 0:47Speaker 2: questions about everybody else, but I've had Neil pull them
- 0:50Speaker 2: all to make them all about me. It's gonna be great.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Neil Savandra here with you this morning and the morning
- 0:56Speaker 2: crew handles out today. Happy to be hanging with you
- 0:59Speaker 2: on this Friday. We're gonna talk a little bit about
- 1:04Speaker 2: getting skinny away. You probably wouldn't imagine payphones because that's
- 1:10Speaker 2: important in LA and pervert glasses. How's that for some teason.
- 1:18Speaker 2: But of course we're going to start the morning. His
- 1:20Speaker 2: Handle usually does and that is how he usually dos it,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and that is killing a couple minutes because he's shpilkis
- 1:30Speaker 2: that means he's got ants in his pants and nobody
- 1:34Speaker 2: knows what he's doing and he doesn't care about anybody
- 1:36Speaker 2: listening something like that. All right, So aby K King
- 1:40Speaker 2: is here. How are you, Amy, Good morning.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I'm doing fabulously. Thank you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I don't care what you're wearing, but it's nice to
- 1:47Speaker 2: see you. I don't know why he does. I have
- 1:51Speaker 2: theories that is why he talks about your shirts. But
- 1:56Speaker 2: we'll be talking about pervert glasses later that I mentioned that. Excellent. Well,
- 2:03Speaker 2: it's it's nice to see you.
- 2:05Speaker 3: You too, nice to see your face, your shrinking face slowly.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I have a very round face, though it's suddenly gonna
- 2:12Speaker 2: get so small, so I'm a moon child, big old
- 2:17Speaker 2: round face. My nickname, I've said this on the air
- 2:19Speaker 2: before was pieface as a kid. Guess who gave it
- 2:24Speaker 2: to me? My dad? Yeah, no, my brother. You would
- 2:28Speaker 2: think so. My sister's stupid friends would come over. What's
- 2:31Speaker 2: his name again, Pizza face. Not a lot of not
- 2:36Speaker 2: a lot of brain energy coming out of that group. Hey,
- 2:40Speaker 2: we're going to go to Gazari's. Was that what the
- 2:44Speaker 2: name of it was? That? The Gazari's was the place
- 2:47Speaker 2: on Sunset. Yeah, the roxy in the Rainbow room and
- 2:51Speaker 2: all that stuff there on the strip. Any Yeah, it's
- 2:55Speaker 2: like she brought another drummer home, and I hope he
- 2:58Speaker 2: wipes his feet before bucks in the house. Drummers are
- 3:02Speaker 2: dirty people. I kid Amy Disneyland Report. When was the
- 3:07Speaker 2: last time you went? When is the next time you're going?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I was there a couple of weeks ago, and uh,
- 3:16Speaker 3: but I haven't been in a couple of weeks obviously,
- 3:19Speaker 3: maybe this weekend, maybe this weekend. It's too hot, Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 3: it's too hot. I actually thought about going this weekend.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I thought I'm gonna wait. Hopefully it's gonna cool down.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I'll go next weekend.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 3: We did the same thing, and my annual passes about
- 3:30Speaker 3: to renew.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Uh is it different?
- 3:34Speaker 3: Nope, Okay, it's the same.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Mind changed last time it renewed.
- 3:39Speaker 3: What do you mean it changed? Like it got more expensive?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it got more expensive, and.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I don't think it's getting more expensive. You get one
- 3:47Speaker 3: hundred dollars Disney Dining credit when you're renew Uh. Okay,
- 3:52Speaker 3: it's like a rebate. Yeah, I'll take that all right.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And I'm just gonna go through. He's just gonna phone
- 4:01Speaker 3: that crap in right now, Mourning.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Good morning. How are you, my dear.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I'm great.
- 4:06Speaker 2: You're looking swelt and tiny.
- 4:08Speaker 3: It looks slender. She looks skinnier every time I see her. Really, Yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I think Amy put on a couple of lbis. Maybe, Oh,
- 4:15Speaker 3: Amy's put on a lot of LB's. You know, we
- 4:18Speaker 3: don't want to.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Talk about I'm just gonna switch it up a little bit.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Maybe we can talk to her about that new diet.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna have to uh get you sick a
- 4:28Speaker 2: kid a kid coo, what's shacka lacking? I know if
- 4:32Speaker 2: you're going to go to me, Yeah, I go to you.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Hey, speaking of your face, my dad used to call
- 4:37Speaker 4: me bowling ball head, and he was always sick to
- 4:40Speaker 4: have around his head in the family. And he would say,
- 4:42Speaker 4: if only I could drill three holes in the back.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Did he mean it?
- 4:46Speaker 4: Yeah, holes in the back of my head. He's rowing
- 4:49Speaker 4: me down the pone bile. He like you around ahead.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I've been watching the X Files. That's something that probably
- 4:54Speaker 3: could really happen.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I've been watching the news.
- 4:59Speaker 2: In La happening right now somewhere is getting three holes
- 5:02Speaker 2: drilled in their head.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's brought back memories when your dad wants you
- 5:05Speaker 4: pizza face. Some of it is pie face face.
- 5:08Speaker 2: You demas sorry.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm bowling ball head in your pie face.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So my family and neighbors still call me pie when
- 5:14Speaker 2: I see him. What's up, pie? No joke? Yeah, neighbors
- 5:18Speaker 2: call me pie. My family calls me pie. Hey, pie,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I don't mind. I think it's sweet, my big fat head. Adam,
- 5:25Speaker 2: How are you, sir? Doing well? Good morning? Are you
- 5:28Speaker 2: in a band? Adam? I am in a band? Okay? Uh?
- 5:32Speaker 2: What do you play bass? Yeah? Okay, no, I I'm sorry.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I'm just I'm sorry that mustache in those sideburns? Brother
- 5:41Speaker 2: that screams bass?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well you know the guilty is charge.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah. What does it feel like being the only band
- 5:47Speaker 2: member that doesn't get laid as a bass player and
- 5:50Speaker 2: that's with sideburns?
- 5:52Speaker 1: You know?
- 5:53Speaker 2: No comment? I kid kid speaking of not getting action?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Will good? Oh I can't look at it. I'm like handle,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'm in the seat. I saw an old picture of
- 6:05Speaker 2: you and you had really long hair. I did, and
- 6:08Speaker 2: some people go so crazy looking that was I grew
- 6:12Speaker 2: my hair out when I got kicked out of school.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So when I got kicked out of high school, I
- 6:17Speaker 2: grew my hair out long, and people go, I thought
- 6:19Speaker 2: you were punk, And I said, at that point I was.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I haven't changed. I still am now I'm just an idiot.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Shut up, Cano, you live in the eye. You were
- 6:26Speaker 2: management that took away your punk card, not the way
- 6:29Speaker 2: I managed it. Any meanie, miney moe. Someone's getting the cut. Wow. Yeah, brutal,
- 6:38Speaker 2: brutal uh? But yeah, Well so I went through many
- 6:43Speaker 2: hairdes but I grew my hair out in high school
- 6:46Speaker 2: the last year or two last year of high school,
- 6:49Speaker 2: I think I grew it up. And beyond I do that.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I changed facial hair. I changed my hair back in
- 6:55Speaker 2: the day when I made major changes. And that's what
- 6:59Speaker 2: you know. Whatever I mean. Adam makes changes to his
- 7:03Speaker 2: facial hair, but he's in abandon he's supposed to. He says,
- 7:06Speaker 2: you don't what. I love my nose so much I
- 7:08Speaker 2: want to underline it. That's a bold statement. All right,
- 7:15Speaker 2: handle on the news lead story. All right, So Iran
- 7:24Speaker 2: moves to block US Israeli shipments from straight or moves
- 7:28Speaker 2: What are the odds? So back and forth who's in
- 7:33Speaker 2: control of the strait there well byran Iran, Iran moves
- 7:41Speaker 2: to block the US. That would say that Iran is
- 7:44Speaker 2: in charge of it is how I would look at this.
- 7:46Speaker 2: So the Iranian state media said yesterday that Tehran could
- 7:50Speaker 2: attempt to block US and Israeli shipments from transitioning the
- 7:55Speaker 2: straight there under this joint venture with Oman to reopen
- 7:59Speaker 2: this critic waterway.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yeah, how do you think that would go over? Uh?
- 8:04Speaker 2: What's the term? Carpet bombing? Is that? I mean at
- 8:08Speaker 2: some point Trump's got to step up. I mean, you
- 8:13Speaker 2: you you go back and forth as to what you're
- 8:16Speaker 2: going to do. Sadly, it's you know, and we continue
- 8:21Speaker 2: to have problems with Iran. It's not just Trump. I
- 8:24Speaker 2: mean there's been They're a problem and often have been
- 8:29Speaker 2: a problem, and it's not going to go away with Trump.
- 8:34Speaker 2: And it's not going to go away any time soon
- 8:37Speaker 2: without something horrible.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Probably, Well, we know what we don't know why California
- 8:45Speaker 3: is reporting more cases of cyclosporiasis than normal. I didn't
- 8:51Speaker 3: know that there were normal cases of cyclosporiasis.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Well, it's a yeah, it comes anything that's food born.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Any food born illness is yourund for the most part
- 9:01Speaker 2: in the you're going to have bursts of it. This
- 9:04Speaker 2: comes from poopy. There's poopy on your foodie and and
- 9:09Speaker 2: really it's usually going to be salads or greens or
- 9:11Speaker 2: things like that because everything else is cooked.
- 9:14Speaker 3: All right. Well, a couple of recent cases we're from
- 9:17Speaker 3: out of state Taco Bell restaurants, so that apparently they
- 9:19Speaker 3: ate at Taco Bell and then came back here and
- 9:21Speaker 3: got sick. But California is not part of the cyclosporiasis
- 9:25Speaker 3: outbreak that has hit fifteen states and sickened tens of
- 9:29Speaker 3: thousands of people. The California Department of Public Health says
- 9:33Speaker 3: the number of cases in California, though, is higher than
- 9:36Speaker 3: what we might expect for this point in the season.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Are there any more concerns about I mean, I love
- 9:44Speaker 2: Taco Bell, and Taco Bell's a local food voice here
- 9:48Speaker 2: in the Southland, and I hate that they're getting this
- 9:52Speaker 2: because it's not like something they did. He simply purchased
- 9:56Speaker 2: this from a place, so it's not like cleanliness in
- 9:59Speaker 2: their low aations or their hands or anything like that.
- 10:03Speaker 2: They're getting this by way of a vendor, So that sucks.
- 10:08Speaker 2: But it's still not coming out of Taco Bell or anything.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I mean, they've removed these ingredients from they're not serving
- 10:16Speaker 2: the lettuce and things like that.
- 10:18Speaker 3: And there were I also I was watching something last
- 10:20Speaker 3: night and they said that it probably anything that was infected,
- 10:24Speaker 3: it's kind of moved through the system. Plus, they're not
- 10:26Speaker 3: sourcing their lettuce from Mexico anymore. That's where they think
- 10:29Speaker 3: that that it came from.
- 10:30Speaker 2: And then we just had a problem with jalapenos.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Kudoba and Chipotle are having seminilla.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Issues and so out of Mexico.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yes, so they've pulled their jalapenos.
- 10:43Speaker 2: All right, no Mexican food for now.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I guess I'm going for it today. I'm going to
- 10:48Speaker 3: support Taco Bell.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Good for you. Well, they had they you on Monday.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Where's Amy. Oh, she's on top of the yo no mountain.
- 10:58Speaker 2: She's got the green pull too, step the oh no mountain?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Oh no? What do you think? I was speaking Hawaiian.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Hawaii?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Ah? No? You after thoughts? All right? Republican US Senator
- 11:17Speaker 2: Ran Paul who has not he does not wear masks, well,
- 11:21Speaker 2: he very much is. I hate Fauci and I'm going
- 11:24Speaker 2: to show that and everything I do and course he
- 11:28Speaker 2: is asking the Justice Department to prosecute Fauci after a
- 11:32Speaker 2: contempt vote there. I don't know what you say about that, Listen,
- 11:39Speaker 2: it was did Fauci like the limelight? I'm gonna guess yes.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Does sometimes the United States pay and put money into
- 11:48Speaker 2: foreign aid dealing with the medical trials and like? Yes?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Is that something that took place in Wuhan? Probably? Maybe?
- 12:02Speaker 2: Do we have any hard evidence on it? No, it
- 12:05Speaker 2: doesn't seem like it.
- 12:06Speaker 3: The interesting question, too, is if he was involved in it,
- 12:11Speaker 3: which there's a lot of stuff pointing to that, there's
- 12:13Speaker 3: a good chance he may have been. Did he do
- 12:16Speaker 3: anything illegal by doing that?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Well?
- 12:19Speaker 3: No, is it just that he denied it and so
- 12:21Speaker 3: it's a bad look.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Well, I would say if you had evidence on it,
- 12:26Speaker 2: and I'm not sure that we do, then it would
- 12:28Speaker 2: be the latter. It would be a bad look. Listen.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Well, then why didn't he just come out and say
- 12:34Speaker 3: I had no part in that? Because then there's a potential.
- 12:37Speaker 2: But she's the deal. If you're going to call him
- 12:41Speaker 2: on that, you're going to have to call Trump out
- 12:44Speaker 2: on a lot of things too. He flip flopped during
- 12:47Speaker 2: the whole thing too, about ah, we're opening too early,
- 12:50Speaker 2: or now I want to open early. Listen. That whole
- 12:53Speaker 2: COVID thing was crap.
- 12:55Speaker 3: It was we had no basis for it. I didn't
- 12:58Speaker 3: know what to do well.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Caution is going to be a huge part. Don't ask
- 13:04Speaker 2: a doctor not to act like a doctor. Okay, a
- 13:09Speaker 2: surgeon is going to tell you you need surgery. General
- 13:12Speaker 2: pract doctor is going to tell you need meds. Uh.
- 13:15Speaker 2: That's just the way medicine goes. That's their strength, and
- 13:19Speaker 2: they're going to be super duper cautious on it. I'm
- 13:22Speaker 2: not going to blame anybody for that. The politicians knew
- 13:26Speaker 2: some in the like that made horrible decisions based on
- 13:29Speaker 2: those recommendations, closing schools when there was no evidence that
- 13:34Speaker 2: the kids were going to have a problem with it.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Right, But Paul is saying, and others are saying that
- 13:40Speaker 3: Fauchan the one was the one who said, good, that's
- 13:43Speaker 3: what a doctor does.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So to me, a doctor is going to say those things.
- 13:50Speaker 2: The politician is going to have to look at that
- 13:52Speaker 2: information and the science that's being given and say okay,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and ask the right questions and then make the decision
- 13:59Speaker 2: for us. The doctor isn't running the country, the doctor
- 14:03Speaker 2: is a consultant and the politicians are the ones that
- 14:07Speaker 2: make the decision. So yeah, was I thrilled with things
- 14:11Speaker 2: that Fauci did. No do I think he's a line lighter. Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I think he liked being in the limelight and for
- 14:19Speaker 2: a while it was a good look on him. But
- 14:21Speaker 2: you know, Newsome was I think, out of all the politicians,
- 14:25Speaker 2: one of the first politicians that I thought acted well
- 14:28Speaker 2: about COVID and then took a hard left, like he
- 14:32Speaker 2: was being cautious and proper, says we're going to look
- 14:34Speaker 2: into this, we're going to deal. He was very sound
- 14:37Speaker 2: at the beginning. If you remember you go look back,
- 14:39Speaker 2: he was one of the only really sound politicians dealing
- 14:44Speaker 2: with California first, and then took a hard left and
- 14:47Speaker 2: shut everything down, which I was blown away. I am
- 14:51Speaker 2: immune suppressed because of my kidney transplant. If they told
- 14:57Speaker 2: me I had to sequester or stay at home, I
- 15:00Speaker 2: would have been fine with that. They told old people
- 15:01Speaker 2: they had to do, that would have been fine with
- 15:03Speaker 2: all that. It's the shutting down of everything, and even
- 15:08Speaker 2: you know, putting the stupid things like knew some filling
- 15:12Speaker 2: skate parks with sand in Venice and.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Doing those those things.
- 15:17Speaker 2: To me, it was it was stupid. It was the
- 15:20Speaker 2: only time a pothole has been filled in LA by
- 15:22Speaker 2: the way by a politician, strangely enough. So it's it
- 15:27Speaker 2: just those things were not scientific, they were stupid. We
- 15:31Speaker 2: found out that people should have been outside. It didn't
- 15:35Speaker 2: do well in certain temperatures. You had more free air,
- 15:42Speaker 2: you had poor restaurant owners. Still to this day, and
- 15:45Speaker 2: I will tell you it will be a decade before
- 15:49Speaker 2: some things start moving again. It is shut down so
- 15:52Speaker 2: much of LA and caused so many problems with LA.
- 15:56Speaker 2: We are still not getting out of it. And to me,
- 16:00Speaker 2: those things were more long lasting. Yes, a lot of
- 16:03Speaker 2: people died, not nearly as many as a nineteen eighteen
- 16:07Speaker 2: with the Spanish flu that they kept comparing it to,
- 16:12Speaker 2: but millions. I mean, that's a lot of people to
- 16:15Speaker 2: die from something like that, and we didn't know a
- 16:19Speaker 2: lot about it. But got a doctor being cautious about
- 16:25Speaker 2: that is not out of line for a doctor to me.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Now a politician has to take that information, process it
- 16:35Speaker 2: and make decisions for the people. That's totally different. That's
- 16:38Speaker 2: why they have advisors and their advice. When a doctor
- 16:43Speaker 2: talks to me. I still get to make the decision.
- 16:47Speaker 2: The doctor is a consultant that I hire to tell
- 16:51Speaker 2: me about my health, and I still make the final
- 16:54Speaker 2: decisions for my family as to what's going on. And
- 16:58Speaker 2: I have to do the best I can with the
- 17:00Speaker 2: information I can, and I don't try and override them
- 17:03Speaker 2: because I don't have the information. But when I make
- 17:09Speaker 2: decisions for my family, I've got to make them along
- 17:12Speaker 2: with my wife, based on the best information we have
- 17:15Speaker 2: and the consultants that we've hired. But trust me, we've
- 17:19Speaker 2: had some pretty crazy diagnoses in my family within the
- 17:23Speaker 2: last year and they have changed multiple times depending on
- 17:29Speaker 2: the doctor we're consulting. So without getting into detail, okay,
- 17:34Speaker 2: let's get back to it. Neil Servader KFIAM six forty
- 17:38Speaker 2: heard everywhere on the iHeartRadio app, which is free, by
- 17:40Speaker 2: the way, so get on that action. If you want
- 17:43Speaker 2: to send a message to us through a talkback, you
- 17:46Speaker 2: just go to that iHeartRadio app look for the red
- 17:50Speaker 2: circle with the white icon of the microphone thirty seconds
- 17:53Speaker 2: to send us whatever you want. Don't be mean, because
- 17:57Speaker 2: I'll be mean back, and trust me, I can get ugly.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I will make you cry. Hard like a baby. Already
- 18:08Speaker 2: back to the news we go with Amy K King
- 18:11Speaker 2: and me O'Neil savedra.
- 18:15Speaker 3: A not so joyful ride. A couple of brothers in
- 18:18Speaker 3: Oakland took their parents' car and went for a little
- 18:24Speaker 3: joy ride.
- 18:25Speaker 2: And just how old were those boys? Those brothers, they.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Were seven and four. They lost it doesn't say they
- 18:33Speaker 3: lost control. I'm guessing the seven year old a four
- 18:35Speaker 3: year old couldn't even seehe the steering wheel. Whether the
- 18:37Speaker 3: seven year old could is debatable too, But anyway.
- 18:39Speaker 2: One of them had the gas and the brake pedal
- 18:42Speaker 2: was pushing on those No they did.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Seriously, Yeah, yep, that's what I heard. So it was
- 18:46Speaker 3: a tag team effort. Okay, So they lost control, not
- 18:50Speaker 3: surprisingly of the Toyota sin Dan and crashed into a
- 18:56Speaker 3: woman who was walking her dog. She's critically injured.
- 18:59Speaker 2: That's horrible.
- 19:00Speaker 3: The boys uncle said they took their parents' keys while
- 19:03Speaker 3: they were sleeping. He says he doesn't know why they
- 19:06Speaker 3: stole the car or how they were able to operate.
- 19:08Speaker 2: What time of day was this.
- 19:09Speaker 3: It was Thursday. It was yesterday morning, about nine thirty five.
- 19:13Speaker 2: In the morning, and the parents were sleeping.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I guess we should look into that too. Yeah, both
- 19:19Speaker 3: my parents, mom and dad were asleep.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Maybe they worked nights, but maybe getting in and out
- 19:26Speaker 2: of the house.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Four and seven year olds alone in the house, well okay,
- 19:33Speaker 3: not judging.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I don't leave my nine year old alone the house.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I don't leave my nine year old alone in the room. Wow,
- 19:41Speaker 2: that's that's nuts. I mean I've done stupid things as
- 19:44Speaker 2: a kid. I think my younger brother one time, Well,
- 19:47Speaker 2: my mom ran into the bank back when you used
- 19:49Speaker 2: to do that. Oh, she's gonna go running in the bank,
- 19:52Speaker 2: and the kids are in the car, and my brother
- 19:55Speaker 2: grabbed the pundle. You know what a preundle is?
- 19:57Speaker 3: No, what's a pundle?
- 19:58Speaker 2: That's the stick that used to be on the driving staff.
- 20:02Speaker 2: It's prundle, park reverse, prundle spells prundle. It's the gear
- 20:08Speaker 2: shift down the tree the pundle. Yeah, so, and he
- 20:12Speaker 2: put that in neutral or something. We rolled back in
- 20:14Speaker 2: the street and a good samaritan had to jump the
- 20:16Speaker 2: car back when we used to have those. And the
- 20:19Speaker 2: good samaritan jumped in the car and you know, put
- 20:22Speaker 2: it into park as my mom came running screaming out, Yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 2: here's my younger brother that did it.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Sure it was it was uh huh.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I was a good kid. I didn't do stuff like that.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm a rule follower unless they're really stupid rules.
- 20:36Speaker 3: So don't believe you.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Okay, your turn, I know, but it's oh, it's an
- 20:45Speaker 2: aimate into an end and did we switch a mid?
- 20:50Speaker 2: She goes, I'm giving that to Neil. All right, Jude,
- 20:52Speaker 2: you dismisses the reflecting pool fiasco. Dealing with the vandalism case,
- 20:58Speaker 2: former olympiad Day hearned, Now, listen, I know people hate Trump.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I get it. I'm not a fan myself, but I
- 21:07Speaker 2: do think people get like, oh, I want to do
- 21:09Speaker 2: something to Trump, And so I could see how somebody
- 21:12Speaker 2: would would would go and purposely cause problems to put
- 21:18Speaker 2: something on social media and mock Trump with it. I
- 21:21Speaker 2: don't think people are all as innocent as they say
- 21:24Speaker 2: they are. But this guy, I really think something probably
- 21:28Speaker 2: floated up and he was like, Wow, this thing floated up.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So I don't know why that became some big deal
- 21:34Speaker 2: and we're going to prosecute some guy with a felony
- 21:38Speaker 2: that represented these United States at one point for the Olympics.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Remember when there were only three channels to choose from. Well,
- 21:48Speaker 3: we might be headed back that way.
- 21:50Speaker 2: As long as one of them is the squiggle channel,
- 21:52Speaker 2: we're good, all right.
- 21:53Speaker 3: The FCC voted two to one in favor of allowing
- 21:56Speaker 3: TV station ownership groups to own more outlets, which is
- 22:00Speaker 3: going to pave the way for consolidation. The vote on
- 22:04Speaker 3: Thursday means companies can own local stations that cover more
- 22:07Speaker 3: than thirty nine percent of the US. They could also
- 22:10Speaker 3: own more than two stations in one market. FCC Chairman
- 22:15Speaker 3: Brendan Carr says this is going to allow the FCC
- 22:20Speaker 3: to approve deals, but they would they would make sure
- 22:26Speaker 3: that those approvals still promote the public interest. He said
- 22:30Speaker 3: the agency will consider things like the commitment to local
- 22:33Speaker 3: journalism and viewpoint diversity.
- 22:39Speaker 2: All right, fascinating, it is fascinating.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Fascinating. We're gonna have Los Angeles and we're gonna have
- 22:45Speaker 3: one one TV station.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Do you know what the squiggles were? No, Oh, Amy King?
- 22:51Speaker 3: What is squiggles?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Remember the early days of cable and they would squiggle
- 22:56Speaker 2: out the porn channels or that it was like softcore stuff?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Is that what it was?
- 23:02Speaker 3: I was never looking for the porn.
- 23:05Speaker 2: You didn't look for it was adult. It wasn't like
- 23:07Speaker 2: porn porn. I think it's was it. I don't remember so,
- 23:11Speaker 2: but yeah, he's skinemax, I remember. But you would be
- 23:14Speaker 2: going through the channels of this kid and you'd come
- 23:16Speaker 2: across boom boom, boom boom, and then it'd be like
- 23:22Speaker 2: red orange, yellow squiggles, and every once in a while
- 23:26Speaker 2: you're like, oh my gosh, I think that's a boob,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and it's like, no, it was an elbow. It was
- 23:30Speaker 2: an elbow, and you couldn't make it. But as a kid,
- 23:34Speaker 2: it was the it was the big taboo. You're like, man,
- 23:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna go home, watch the Squiggles, the Squiggles. I'm
- 23:43Speaker 2: gonna stay up late watch the Squiggles. And you could
- 23:46Speaker 2: tell the way it cast the light if any of
- 23:49Speaker 2: your brothers were watching the Squiggles when you got up
- 23:52Speaker 2: to get some water and you're like that yellow, green,
- 23:57Speaker 2: blue hues, I know what you're watching. Then you hear
- 23:59Speaker 2: the channels click real fast. The Squiggles and the prundle.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Today's show has been brought to you by the word
- 24:07Speaker 2: squiggle and prundle. Trump issues new executive orders. These are
- 24:13Speaker 2: looking again at the birthright citizenship after the Supreme Court ruling,
- 24:17Speaker 2: which he obviously had a problem with, He's going to
- 24:20Speaker 2: look at this again. Kind of hard to sidestep the
- 24:26Speaker 2: Constitution of these United States. So I guess you just
- 24:31Speaker 2: are writing on the clause there that states under the
- 24:34Speaker 2: jurisdiction thereof that's the only thing I could see that
- 24:38Speaker 2: you'd be poking about. Or if he's just trying to
- 24:41Speaker 2: find an end run around that, well.
- 24:44Speaker 3: He's trying to find an nd run around it. But
- 24:45Speaker 3: like when he was talking yesterday, he was talking about
- 24:48Speaker 3: birthright citizenship, and that's like that birth tourism where people
- 24:52Speaker 3: come here, stay in nice hotels, have babies, and then
- 24:54Speaker 3: their babies are US citizens and then they go back
- 24:57Speaker 3: to their home countries, but then they have US citizenship.
- 25:01Speaker 3: And he's saying that he doesn't agree with that, and
- 25:02Speaker 3: there's a lot of wealthy people. We've done stories on
- 25:06Speaker 3: it that it does. It does happen, although it's like
- 25:08Speaker 3: less than one percent.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but of course things happen.
- 25:12Speaker 3: But it's like, shouldn't you try to stop it. It's
- 25:16Speaker 3: like saying, of course fraud happens. Okay, it's going to happen.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's in our constitution though it's not. That's
- 25:21Speaker 2: the pesky thing in the United in the United States
- 25:24Speaker 2: were different and there there's I don't know of many
- 25:29Speaker 2: other countries that allow.
- 25:31Speaker 3: That to happen, right, so to be interesting to the constitution.
- 25:34Speaker 2: So that's there's.
- 25:35Speaker 3: The executive order. It will end around the Constitution. It's
- 25:40Speaker 3: going to go to the Supreme Court and probably get
- 25:42Speaker 3: knocked down. But you got to figure that they're trying
- 25:45Speaker 3: to find ways to get around it.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Constitution. Man, I ain't that about a bitch. People are
- 25:53Speaker 2: going to buy it and die from COVID too, right,
- 25:56Speaker 2: but they don't want to shut anything down. Just accept
- 26:00Speaker 2: it back to COVID.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I'm just saying, it's the same rule to apply.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You're just picking which when Trump tried to shut it
- 26:08Speaker 2: down by closing the airports, he was racist. We're all.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Here's the thing, is we all? I'm telling you everybody,
- 26:15Speaker 2: they don't care about the facts. It's that's not my team.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I say, no, this is my team. I say yes.
- 26:22Speaker 2: That's why a two party system sucks. Already still the
- 26:27Speaker 2: best in the world, absolutely, which is why we which
- 26:30Speaker 2: is why people That's why I believe exceptionalism is true
- 26:34Speaker 2: is because one, no other country in the world has
- 26:38Speaker 2: people trying to get into it more than the United States. One. Secondly,
- 26:43Speaker 2: no other country in the United States is looked upon, down,
- 26:49Speaker 2: down upon when we do things that are out of
- 26:52Speaker 2: character for the United States. They're like, yeah, we don't
- 26:56Speaker 2: want anybody becoming citizens by being born here, but America
- 26:59Speaker 2: should do because they're America. That's how I know we
- 27:03Speaker 2: are America. Is I am personally an American exceptionalist because
- 27:11Speaker 2: of those things that people look at us differently, and
- 27:13Speaker 2: they should because we're the United States. But you can't
- 27:16Speaker 2: do that and say that we're horrible, because you're putting
- 27:20Speaker 2: us up to our standards, not yours.
- 27:23Speaker 3: AI doesn't only create cool pictures, it creates potentially deadly viruses.
- 27:28Speaker 3: What could possibly go wrong? Scientists have used an artificial
- 27:31Speaker 3: intelligence program to create new viral genomes that are different
- 27:37Speaker 3: from any known natural viruses. The development is a hopeful
- 27:42Speaker 3: step toward medical advances, but also raises concerns about the
- 27:45Speaker 3: potential for misuse. The new viruses are called bacteriofages, which
- 27:52Speaker 3: infect bacteria but cannot affect humans. Of course, it's a
- 27:57Speaker 3: notable scientific milestone, especially A scientists try to combat rising
- 28:01Speaker 3: drug resistance within germs like E. Coli.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So, so are these digital facsimiles or are they actually
- 28:09Speaker 2: designing in the physical world these viruses.
- 28:15Speaker 3: They used AI to generate thousands of genome combinations within
- 28:20Speaker 3: a specific framework.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Okay, but I'm saying, is that a digital framework or
- 28:25Speaker 2: are they taking those chrology? They use digital models all.
- 28:31Speaker 3: The time, right. So of the thousands of genomes that
- 28:34Speaker 3: the AI generated, scientists built and tested about three hundred
- 28:38Speaker 3: in the lab and found that sixteen were viable viruses.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Hmm, again, where.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Was fascim If we use it for good, it's one thing.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But we've already AI. AI wants to bust out.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, everything does. Cars get faster, planes get faster, things
- 28:59Speaker 2: get more dangerous. That happens. I mean, listen, we are
- 29:04Speaker 2: in control of things until we're not.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Terminator.
- 29:09Speaker 2: I'll take it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Such a great movie.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Get down, get to the JAPA. Know what I'm doing,
- 29:18Speaker 2: teen gunman. This was horrible. I saw this come in
- 29:20Speaker 2: last night, dead after killing students and teachers in it
- 29:24Speaker 2: in Thailand's worst school shooting in years. Thailand is stunning.
- 29:31Speaker 2: The people are lovely and I was both surprised and
- 29:38Speaker 2: horrified to hear about this. That's a very lovely people
- 29:42Speaker 2: and a lovely place on this planet of ours, and
- 29:48Speaker 2: you know, we don't know much about it. At least
- 29:50Speaker 2: three students, three teachers been killed.
- 29:53Speaker 3: They're now saying it's five teachers, Oh my god, yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 3: and a fourteen year old.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah, at the end of the weapon. I don't know
- 30:00Speaker 2: what the gun laws are in Thailand. Personally, I'm curious
- 30:05Speaker 2: about that. All right, union representing the IRS workers asked
- 30:09Speaker 2: Judge to block the Trump tax audit immunity deal. I
- 30:13Speaker 2: don't know. I genuinely for all the tds that Bill
- 30:16Speaker 2: handle has, I will tell you this is one where
- 30:20Speaker 2: I stand in total agreement with him. I don't know
- 30:23Speaker 2: why Trump would have any tax audit immunity ever at all.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And I would trust, you know, the hardcore Trumpers and
- 30:37Speaker 2: more if if every once in a while they went, yeah,
- 30:41Speaker 2: that's kind of nuts. Yeah, that doesn't make sense because
- 30:45Speaker 2: things like this, to me is just a total abuse
- 30:49Speaker 2: of power, and I can't see it any other way.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Still your turn.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Wait, did I do your story? Yeah?
- 30:56Speaker 3: You still my story?
- 30:56Speaker 2: Well, it's okay, how rude. I know I'm okay, but no, please,
- 31:04Speaker 2: do you do my story? I don't want to be
- 31:07Speaker 2: that guy, no story stealer.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I didn't pre read your story. Oh you you do
- 31:14Speaker 3: your story.
- 31:14Speaker 2: You don't read things on the fly. There, Okay, absolute betrayal,
- 31:20Speaker 2: says the lifeguards, speaking out against California park officials accused
- 31:24Speaker 2: of secretly filming them. So you have a former California
- 31:28Speaker 2: State park superintendent faces of felony and misdemeanor charges after
- 31:32Speaker 2: allegedly secretly recording nearly two dozen male lifeguards, including miners,
- 31:39Speaker 2: in a staff locker room in Bolsa, Chica State Beach.
- 31:45Speaker 2: You know what they didn't use? What meta glasses that
- 31:49Speaker 2: everybody's freaked out about because nobody's putting their glasses anywhere.
- 31:54Speaker 2: They're putting small cameras that you can get off of.
- 31:57Speaker 2: TIMU don't ask Kno why he knows that. All right,
- 32:03Speaker 2: stick around. More to come when we return. We're getting
- 32:06Speaker 2: into a couple things today. One that I'm pretty passionate
- 32:09Speaker 2: about coming at eight o'clock, dealing with trying to legislate
- 32:15Speaker 2: geometry and what you can build and make and things
- 32:20Speaker 2: that they think that's a dangerous shape. It's a bizarre story.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Deals with AB twenty forty seven. We'll get into that
- 32:28Speaker 2: a little bit later. Also, a lot going on with
- 32:32Speaker 2: how people are losing weight. Now, we'll talk about that
- 32:37Speaker 2: coming up shortly.
- 32:38Speaker 1: You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show. Catch My
- 32:41Speaker 1: Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
- 32:44Speaker 1: anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
