- 0:02Happy Sunday morning, everybody. It's a nice, easy, calm Sunday
- 0:09morning. No drama outside, just a little
- 0:14chilly, but the skies are clear. Everything is good.
- 0:20Nothing wrong. All right, everybody.
- 0:24We, we got rained out for the big opener last night at I-55
- 0:31Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park, but we will be back there
- 0:35next Saturday if the weather allows it.
- 0:38So we'll see what happens. The Kyle Petty charity ride is
- 0:44coming up. We'll be leaving on April 29th.
- 0:49My God, it's already, it's already at the end of April, but
- 0:51that will be the next week. Kim and I will be flying out
- 0:56there with and Schrader, that crazy Kenny Schrader, he's
- 1:01riding his trike all the way out to San Francisco and he's going
- 1:07to come right back. And we're coming through
- 1:08Springfield, MO on the ride. We'll be stopping at one of the
- 1:13stops will be Springfield, MO, Johnny Morris's bass pro shops.
- 1:18But give Schrader a reason to be gone and he'll be gone.
- 1:23I don't, I don't think he likes staying around home.
- 1:28I think I know him better than anybody.
- 1:30I'll say Schrader, do you like your home?
- 1:33Sure. I said why?
- 1:34Why don't you ever want to be there?
- 1:36Well, I got things to do. But I love Schrader.
- 1:41He loves that open Rd. He loves it.
- 1:45He I'll fly somewhere and he'll go, why do you why did you fly?
- 1:50I'm like, why would I drive? So Schrader likes to drive
- 1:54everywhere. That was a mixed bag of nuts
- 1:59right there. Rained out at Pevely and the
- 2:03Kyle Petty Charity ride starts May 1st.
- 2:05But we sent our bike out there already on the Kyle Petty Cherry
- 2:10Ride tractor trailer. So ours got sent out on a big
- 2:14old tractor trailer. And that was my point.
- 2:17Schrader's riding his out so he can come right back to where he
- 2:20went. It's it's all good.
- 2:23We're just poking. OK everybody.
- 2:27That was the monologue once again.
- 2:31The mobile One coffee mugs are going to be available.
- 2:35I think on Wednesday or Thursday.
- 2:37The mobile one coffee mugs, we're going to have that logo
- 2:41still. We're going to go with that
- 2:42logo. We're going to keep that logo,
- 2:44but it's going to say Mobile 1 racing and it's going to be a
- 2:48good looking coffee mug. Of course the shirts should be
- 2:51out, maybe not this week, but next week.
- 2:54But go to shopkennywallace.com right now.
- 2:57It's so easy, man. That shop Kenny Wallace, they
- 3:00made that easy and we got the Coffee with Kenny T-shirts right
- 3:06there. Decals, hats, our ghost shirts.
- 3:09So we got it all a lot to discuss this morning.
- 3:20The danger of somebody like me having my own podcast.
- 3:28You know, you, it's a deal. Years ago it was like I
- 3:31remember, you know, as soon as you go in the media, that means
- 3:34your racing career is over because that means that's what
- 3:37you do. I mean, we're talking 30-40
- 3:39years ago, but that sure has changed.
- 3:44Denny Hamlin has actions detrimental, gives his opinion
- 3:51on why Kyle Busch is struggling. Of course, this is served up to
- 3:59him by the show host on action's detrimental.
- 4:03So the show's host sits across, you know, the table and the guy
- 4:08goes, hey, you know, what do you think about, you know, Richard
- 4:11Childress racing Kyle Busch? And let the drama begin.
- 4:18And I'm here to respond on it. The other subject today is going
- 4:22to be the danger of racing and what we saw happened to Carson
- 4:27Quapal. He got hit in the left rear by
- 4:29William Byron yesterday in the O'Reilly race and he went to
- 4:33flop and that air got underneath his car.
- 4:36And then, of course, the death at Nurburgring.
- 4:42I'm not even going to announce the man's name because I don't
- 4:46even know how to pronounce it. Meeting.
- 4:48Is that how you say the the man's last name?
- 4:52God bless his soul. He got into a big six car wreck.
- 4:57Feels so bad for him. Here.
- 4:59Here. It's on my radar because you
- 5:01know, everybody was wanting to know.
- 5:02How fast did you run Nurburgering?
- 5:04I'm like, you don't get it. Nurburgering is not about speed.
- 5:08It's a road course now on that front.
- 5:10Straightaway, you can haul ass. And I did get up to 147, I said.
- 5:14But when I got there, you know, they put the fear of God in me.
- 5:19They said, we kill four to five people a year here.
- 5:22And, you know, people are like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:26And then when it really happens, people are like, oh, my God, be
- 5:30careful. So Max Verstappen is over there
- 5:33right now. I I don't know if the race is
- 5:35over. They're qualifying right now.
- 5:37These are qualifier races for the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
- 5:44And this older man, he, he was driving a good looking.
- 5:46I don't know what it was, but they wrecked so hard.
- 5:50I mean, I, I saw the in car picture from somebody else
- 5:54yesterday. I mean, they wrecked and Mr.
- 5:57Meat and I don't know how to say his name.
- 5:59I apologize, respond right here. But he had a bad wreck and
- 6:04already another death at Nurburgring.
- 6:09Racing is inherently very dangerous sport.
- 6:13And I, I talked about how when I was in TV, they said people feel
- 6:18like since we got a safer car, the safer barriers, a better
- 6:26seat, the Hans device, everything's better.
- 6:28Everything's way safer. But TV, when I was in TV, if you
- 6:34remember this, I told you all this about three months ago.
- 6:37TV felt like the reason the sport was dying was because
- 6:43people felt like it wasn't dangerous anymore.
- 6:46And Fox executives told me and my comrades, they said make sure
- 6:51you remind everybody that the sport is dangerous.
- 6:56So yesterday at the O'Reilly race, William Byron got into
- 7:00Carson Guapo and and it's a reminder there's a sport is
- 7:03still very dangerous. Really happy to see Carson get
- 7:07out of that car unbothered. Not even the thing.
- 7:12But then Nurburgring reminds us that you can get killed.
- 7:16So never, never, you know, ease up on safety.
- 7:21Safety is everything. We don't have to kill people to
- 7:24put on a show everybody. That's the bottom line.
- 7:32What? What do you want?
- 7:34Treat? Hold on, Louis.
- 7:40Hold on. I'll get you the treat.
- 7:42I got to finish coffee with Kenny.
- 7:47And yes, those are Christmas pyjamas.
- 7:49Been wearing the same ones for years.
- 7:53Wash them every once in a while. Smell the ass.
- 7:55See if it smells like poop. It don't smell.
- 7:59It smells good. Just keep wearing them.
- 8:03That was bad. OK, let's say it like this.
- 8:08Denny Hamlin has actions detrimental.
- 8:12It gets served up. Hey, what do you think about RCR
- 8:16and Kyle Busch? So Denny says, he says, man, I
- 8:19know that that's driving Kyle Busch nuts.
- 8:24Now I want to say this, OK, this is my disclaimer.
- 8:28I'm nobody. All I've ever done is win 9
- 8:32Xfinity races. I'm nobody.
- 8:34They're way better than me. Well, look at that.
- 8:39Good one. Hold on.
- 8:40Give me a break. One, one second.
- 8:42One second. He's like you told me you'd give
- 8:45me a tree. Tree.
- 8:50Looks like John Force. Look you like John Force.
- 8:54He's a drag car. One second.
- 8:55Let me finish. I'm almost done.
- 8:58Don't say tree. I'll get you one.
- 9:01Hell, he's jacked up on Sun Drop.
- 9:03Look at him. So here's the bottom line.
- 9:07The media goes running. So there's disturbers.
- 9:12That's the bottom line. Of course, that's the media's
- 9:15job. The media goes running to
- 9:17Kabush. Kabush.
- 9:18Did you see what Denny Hamlin said about you?
- 9:22Now, I already told you I'm nobody, OK?
- 9:24They're way better than me. They're way better than me.
- 9:26I can't even drive. Tell him why.
- 9:29I don't even know how I stayed in NASCAR for 905 NASCAR races.
- 9:34I have no idea how I won nine NASCAR O'Reilly races.
- 9:39OK, all right, now that we beat me up, now I'm going to give my
- 9:42opinion. You see how that works?
- 9:45Hey, Wallace, you were never no good anyway.
- 9:47Why you? Because I'm going to give my my
- 9:49opinion. Or almost cussed.
- 9:51I almost cussed in my day. Darryl Waltz would run that
- 10:00mouth. Rusty Wallace would run that
- 10:02mouth. Dale Senior would say I just
- 10:06meant to rattle his cage. So in my day, everybody run that
- 10:12mouth. Everybody did that.
- 10:13That's what made NASCAR great back in the day.
- 10:18Hey, what do you think of RCR? What do you think of Kyle Bush
- 10:21and Denny Hamlin? Just sincerely goes, man, I know
- 10:24it's I know it's driving Kyle Bush nuts that you know, his cup
- 10:28cards not running good. Now here we go.
- 10:32We're splitting hairs. We're getting into well, he and
- 10:34he said and you know, come on. And he said thereof and and
- 10:40that's what he meant. We all like to listen to what
- 10:44people have to say, especially somebody that's won 60 something
- 10:49cup races. I mean, Denny Hamlin's a first
- 10:52ballot Hall of Famer just like Kyle Bush is.
- 10:55Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin are Hall of farmers, and here's what
- 11:01I have to say about that. Dust up more, please.
- 11:06It was awesome. We need more of it.
- 11:09Keep talking to you guys. Because that's what makes it
- 11:12just like the Bristol night race when Rusty threw that water
- 11:16bottle and hit Earnhardt in the nose.
- 11:18They came out with a song. So more of this, boys.
- 11:22And Danny, you just keep talking.
- 11:25Have a great Sunday, everybody.
