- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: All right, thanks, Sean.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Let's go to Nat and get a hit of celeb news.
- 0:05Speaker 3: What are you following now?
- 0:06Speaker 4: You know Shaq, Big Shaq? Former basketball player, former NBA player.
- 0:10Speaker 4: Did you know since he retired he's been getting a
- 0:12Speaker 4: master's degree in criminology?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Oh.
- 0:14Speaker 2: That's what I wanted to do when I left school.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Why didn't you? Did you want to be a criminologist?
- 0:19Speaker 5: Well, because my dad was a prosecutor and I used
- 0:21Speaker 5: to go into– I used to go to work with
- 0:24Speaker 5: him and sit in court.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Crime scenes. No, not crime scenes.
- 0:27Speaker 5: I would sit with him in court and there was
- 0:29Speaker 5: always usually a criminologist there and I just loved, I
- 0:33Speaker 5: just loved like, I loved the idea of getting in
- 0:36Speaker 5: the minds of criminals.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah, why didn't you do it? Like Nat said, lazy.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Well, firstly, you needed to be really, really intelligent, get
- 0:43Speaker 5: like a 99.9% in your UAI. And there was a
- 0:46Speaker 5: huge like psychology degree aspect to it as well.
- 0:49Speaker 2: So I was like, I'll take it. Firstly, I didn't
- 0:51Speaker 2: get the marks.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Secondly, I was like, I'll take a gap year and
- 0:54Speaker 5: do some travelling and then I got a taste of
- 0:56Speaker 5: working and not having assignments and.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I was like, I'm never going back.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I feel gap years are bad for that because, like,
- 1:02Speaker 4: I went straight from school to uni.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 4: But if I did a gap year, I don't think
- 1:05Speaker 4: I would have gone back too because you know what
- 1:07Speaker 4: it's like to have money and then you go to
- 1:08Speaker 4: uni and you don't have money anymore.
- 1:10Speaker 2: You just got to push on from school, get it
- 1:12Speaker 2: all done.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I went back to do my Masters. I lasted, like,
- 1:15Speaker 2: six months. Oh, did you not finish that?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Nah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: We were working together, weren't we?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I was doing like breakfast radio. By correspondence, yeah. I
- 1:22Speaker 2: was like, oh, this is cool. Did you do it
- 1:23Speaker 2: on campus too? I was going on campus, yeah. You
- 1:26Speaker 2: would have wanted to. Mainly for the girls. I was
- 1:28Speaker 2: going to say, we all know the real reason. And
- 1:30Speaker 2: then I dropped out. I was like, oh, this is,
- 1:31Speaker 2: why am I doing this? And also, you don't need it.
- 1:34Speaker 4: It's like expensive and it's just so what you can
- 1:36Speaker 4: flex until you have your masters.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And it was hard. Yeah, of course. Like studying as
- 1:41Speaker 2: an adult, studying, incredibly hard. My brain could not study.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Like I can't concentrate on anything really. Well, particularly, yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 2: it's because you've got the rest of your life going on.
- 1:49Speaker 4: When you're a kid and in school, all you have
- 1:51Speaker 4: to focus on is studying and then going out with
- 1:54Speaker 4: your mates.
- 1:54Speaker 2: But Shaq's doing it. Well, Shaq's managing to do it, yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 4: But then he posted this video online and it's going
- 2:00Speaker 4: everywhere this morning. So he asked a question and he
- 2:02Speaker 4: wanted to know the answer. He said, smart people only.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Can you help me answer this?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Let's take a listen.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Okay, smart people. One goose is called goose. Two or
- 2:13Speaker 1: more goose are called geese. One moose is called moose.
- 2:18Speaker 1: How come two or three more moose can't be called meese?
- 2:23Speaker 2: Does anyone know the answer?
- 2:24Speaker 3: No, I'm not up to date on my American animals,
- 2:27Speaker 3: but I don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 2: English language is stupid, right? We have all these rules.
- 2:31Speaker 4: It is very stupid. Yeah, things don't make sense. We're
- 2:34Speaker 4: not phonetic, right, either, our language.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So it's actually very hard to learn.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I feel for all people that come to an English-speaking
- 2:39Speaker 4: country and have to learn English because it makes no sense.
- 2:43Speaker 3: No, well, we talked about one a while ago. Apparently,
- 2:46Speaker 3: so we play tradie versus lady, right? If I said
- 2:50Speaker 3: tradie versus lady, wrong.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Really? Yeah, and you'll hear people say, like, we just
- 2:54Speaker 2: had Jai Arrow in. The Rabbitohs were versing. Actually, who
- 2:58Speaker 2: did they play? Roosters, wasn't it?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah, if someone said versing. Who's that, Sean?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Sean.
- 3:02Speaker 2: My voice is still hanging on. The voice is just
- 3:06Speaker 2: hanging on. So versing is wrong. What did you do, Screamo?
- 3:08Speaker 2: That's not, you can't say versing. No, but okay, but
- 3:10Speaker 2: back to the moose. What is a pack of mooses? Oh, mooses.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It's not mooses. It must be mooses. No, mooses is incorrect.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It's one moose, two moose, there's three moose. Yeah, but
- 3:22Speaker 2: is it a pack of moose?
- 3:23Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Yes, so just moose. So instead of saying
- 3:26Speaker 5: there's a pack of geese... You say, oh, there's 12 mooses. No,
- 3:30Speaker 5: mooses is still correct. See, this is why I could
- 3:33Speaker 5: never do my masters.
- 3:34Speaker 2: And then fish. Fishies.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Fishies?
- 3:37Speaker 5: It's not fishies.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Fishies is not right. It's certainly not fishies. This is
- 3:43Speaker 2: why I wasn't a criminologist, guys. Yeah, it's becoming very evident.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm surprised you even finished high school. Excuse me, I
- 3:49Speaker 2: wrote a book. Oh, that's true. Oh, true.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Also, K-pop band Blackpink. You know from that group Lisa?
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Or New Zealander. You're thinking of Rosé.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Oh.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: What was that?
- 4:04Speaker 3: Oh.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Because it was mildly racist. It got them confused.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It's like us getting Miley Cyrus confused with Britney Spears.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Okay, yeah. Two completely different people.
- 4:13Speaker 4: But Blackpink, if you don't know them, they have this
- 4:15Speaker 4: big song, How You Like That.
- 4:16Speaker 2: How You Like That.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Oh, Lisa.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Oh, was that her? Lisa was in White Lotus Season 3.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:23Speaker 2: The Thai one. The Thai one. Oh, she's gorgeous. Yes,
- 4:25Speaker 2: she is. Stunning.
- 4:27Speaker 4: So, Lisa has admitted that she's had to hide all
- 4:30Speaker 4: her romantic relationships because in the K-pop world and in
- 4:34Speaker 4: K-pop culture, they're not allowed to date because they sell
- 4:37Speaker 4: them on this fantasy economy. which means that they want
- 4:40Speaker 4: the romantic illusion in fans. So fans want to believe they.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Can date these people.
- 4:45Speaker 4: So in a new interview she said, if you're seeing
- 4:47Speaker 4: someone and you get caught by paparazzi, your popularity instantly drops.
- 4:50Speaker 4: And when she was younger she said she had a
- 4:52Speaker 4: few relationships that she had to completely hide from the
- 4:54Speaker 4: public eye because she didn't want her relationship to be
- 4:58Speaker 4: the thing that hurt Blackpink's popularity.
- 5:00Speaker 2: So she's got to stay single or pretend to be single.
- 5:02Speaker 4: But who would be okay with being the person that–
- 5:05Speaker 4: dates in secret.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Oh, for that amount of money. I don't know. She's
- 5:09Speaker 2: not paying them.
- 5:10Speaker 5: But if you look at it purely from a business
- 5:12Speaker 5: perspective and you said to the guy, hey, I want
- 5:15Speaker 5: to keep our relationship sacred and secret, you know, because.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It's kind of hot.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Well, it's kind of hot, but also putting your relationship
- 5:23Speaker 5: up into the spotlight.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh, man, the scrutiny.
- 5:25Speaker 5: And then, like, there's a lot of people on earth that,
- 5:29Speaker 5: you know, they don't want to be happy for you.
- 5:31Speaker 5: So I think there is something to kind of keeping,
- 5:35Speaker 5: certain aspects of your relationship you know private and whatnot however.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Question for you yeah because you're like a mum parenting
- 5:42Speaker 4: influence yes if you were to get divorced from I
- 5:46Speaker 4: didn't even plug it it's Amy Girard now press it
- 5:49Speaker 4: um but yeah if you were to get divorced from
- 5:51Speaker 4: Ryan do you think that would affect your numbers on
- 5:53Speaker 4: social um no.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I think You could go into the divorced mum influence
- 5:58Speaker 2: a lot.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I think my appeal on my socials has always
- 6:02Speaker 5: been my honesty and my vulnerability.
- 6:05Speaker 2: So I would, you know, as much... Document the whole divorce.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Probably.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You get great numbers.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yeah, but I would just lean into whatever it is
- 6:11Speaker 5: that I'm going through.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Like, I talk openly about.
- 6:14Speaker 5: you know, the trials and tribulations of my marriage, especially
- 6:17Speaker 5: when I was, you know, balls to the walls with
- 6:20Speaker 5: three young children. So I spoke really openly and honestly
- 6:24Speaker 5: about that. I would do the same thing if we
- 6:26Speaker 5: got divorced, which we never will.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Divorce coming soon. Keep an eye on her socials. And
- 6:30Speaker 2: if you did, good luck, Ryan. Good luck, Ryan. He's
- 6:33Speaker 2: on there. Everything.
