- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing.
- 0:12Genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to a hypnosis
- 0:43session all about finally being worthy.
- 0:48Of. Success.
- 0:50And I was working with a client that was pretty much at the top
- 0:55of their particular industry. They had won numerous awards,
- 0:59accolades, been featured on TV. They were pretty much a big
- 1:04deal, but they didn't feel that way.
- 1:06They felt that they always had to be on edge, vigilant.
- 1:11They couldn't be complacent. And that probably served them
- 1:14very, very well throughout their career because it gave them very
- 1:19high standards and and attention to detail that really made a
- 1:24difference. The problem is that they were
- 1:28afflicted with a lot of anxiety, a lot of stress, a lot of
- 1:33pressure, so much so that when actually they were given
- 1:37accolades and recognition, they felt uncomfortable about
- 1:40receiving it. It just felt unpleasant for
- 1:43them. So this uses an analogy of
- 1:47almost kind of like a mixture of two different plants.
- 1:54Some people are familiar with the phrase grafting, and
- 1:56grafting is where you have the roots of one tree, but then you
- 1:59have a a sapling of a new tree and then you get the best of the
- 2:04qualities of both. Sometimes that can be an
- 2:07effective horticultural technique.
- 2:12This particular client could identify a very rugged, Hardy
- 2:15plant called the gorse. It kind of lives on Cliff tops
- 2:19in very harsh conditions, but it survives and it thrives.
- 2:23It's a great metaphor for resilience.
- 2:26And this kind of tenacity, in a way just finds a way of
- 2:32surviving. But then there's the Rose.
- 2:34And the Rose is also a quite a rugged plant, but it's also, you
- 2:39know, seen as one of the most beautiful kind of flowers in the
- 2:42world. So therefore this is a metaphor
- 2:45so that they can. Keep.
- 2:47Everything that's got them to where?
- 2:48They've got to. But finally, have a sense.
- 2:51Of gratitude. And joy and worthiness about all
- 2:56of the success that they've had. Because wouldn't it be a
- 3:00tragedy? And I'm now talking to you
- 3:02rather than about this client for you to have worked so hard
- 3:06in your life, in your career and you don't even get the joy and
- 3:11the benefit of everything that you've done.
- 3:15And there are some people that have this delayed gratification,
- 3:18they just kind of put off any feelings of success and joy
- 3:22until they really feel like they've earned it.
- 3:24But they're chasing a mirage that they're never going to
- 3:26achieve. And let's be honest, none of us
- 3:29are immortal. We're all going to die one day.
- 3:31Wouldn't it be good to enjoy the journey?
- 3:35As well. As enjoy getting to the
- 3:37destination. This is really what this
- 3:40hypnosis session is all about. It was created for a specific
- 3:43client. Some of the suggestions and
- 3:44references would have been ideal for them and not quite right for
- 3:48you. So hone into those suggestions
- 3:50that resonate. Ignore anything that don't.
- 3:54And if you like the idea of having a bespoke session or
- 3:56working with me directly, I would encourage you to check out
- 4:00a webinar that I've created. And you can register for that
- 4:03webinar. It's actually in the description
- 4:07of this episode. So click that, click register
- 4:10and they're every 15 minutes you can.
- 4:11See. The the next version very, very
- 4:14soon and I just talk about why hypnosis can help areas that
- 4:20other things simply don't work for.
- 4:22So if that's of interest, check. That out.
- 4:26For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable.
- 4:28Place where? You won't be distracted or
- 4:30disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:57Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:05wonderful feeling of pure relaxation.
- 5:10And as you exhale, give permission to release any pent
- 5:19up anxiety, worry, stress, even echoes of unworthiness.
- 5:25Just allow it to leave your body in that outward breath,
- 5:32breathing and relaxation and releasing every time you breathe
- 5:38out. That's it.
- 5:46And I want you to scan your body for any clues of any stress,
- 5:51worry or tension and set the attention that intention to
- 5:58release, to let go, to relax. That's it.
- 6:06If you need to position your body, adjust in any way to feel
- 6:12more natural, more comfortable, that's it.
- 6:16And just know that for this time, right here, right now,
- 6:24there is nowhere else you need to be.
- 6:28Nothing you need to manage. No decisions to make.
- 6:34Just connect with the here and the now and allow your breathing
- 6:44to find its own rhythm. Not forced, not controlled, just
- 6:53natural. And with each breath out, you
- 6:59can begin to release a little more of any of that vigilance,
- 7:07anticipation, worries, or concerns for this time.
- 7:16Now, that extraordinary attention, that highly honed
- 7:26radar you have, can simply rest. As your body relaxes, your
- 7:38imagination awakens. And I want your imagination to
- 7:45take you to a place very early in the morning, the kind of
- 7:55morning that exists before the world begins.
- 7:58It's noise. And I want you to find yourself
- 8:05at the edge of a garden somewhere near the ocean in
- 8:10Cornwall. And the light is that
- 8:15extraordinary quality of pre dawn.
- 8:19Everything's silver and soft, the air carrying that particular
- 8:26coolness that feels clean against the skin, the salt on
- 8:31the breeze and maybe the sound or the movement of the sea not
- 8:38that far away. I want you to imagine placing
- 8:46your hand against old bricks of an old wall, 500 year old stones
- 8:56still holding onto memories and the warmth of yesterday.
- 9:03Maybe they're rugged and rough or smooth, but just connect to
- 9:10everything that's come before. Look out to the garden as
- 9:19everything is completely, perfectly still.
- 9:30Perhaps you begin to notice sounds, maybe the first birds
- 9:37just beginning tentative testing the morning, and maybe somewhere
- 9:46is the distant sound of the sea. But beneath it all, that deep,
- 9:53deep silence that you only find this far from everything and
- 9:59everyone. Connect with that place.
- 10:06Connect with the energy of the place, That positive, ancient,
- 10:15unhurried energy. As if the land itself has
- 10:20decided that here everything is safe and just let yourself
- 10:34breathe it in. And as you breathe in, feel the
- 10:40ground solid and certain beneath your feet, the way it has been
- 10:46solid over the centuries. You feel safe, calm, relaxed,
- 10:59open to new ideas in this place. So let's move deeper into the
- 11:09garden, each step taking you more fully into this state of
- 11:15deep, resourceful peace. That's it.
- 11:24And as you walk deeper into the garden, feel yourself gradually,
- 11:31incrementally, transitionally shifting into that place where
- 11:38the conscious mind is no longer on guard and the unconscious is
- 11:46like fertile soil waiting for just a seed of an idea to take
- 11:52root. And there, perhaps, where this
- 12:02garden merges in with Cliff tops, I want you to imagine
- 12:10seeing a particular, perhaps peculiar, fascinating plant.
- 12:19The gorse. And I want you to really see it
- 12:27not as a problem, not as something unwanted, but to truly
- 12:37see it for what it is. See the magnificence?
- 12:49Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years of evolution.
- 12:53A remarkable plant. Extraordinary.
- 13:02It's able to grow where nothing else will, digging its roots
- 13:08into thin, poor soil where other plants wouldn't dare, facing
- 13:16salt winds that would strip paint from metal.
- 13:23And it stands against gales that bend trees, fences.
- 13:33And yet it flowers consistently, abundantly, brilliantly.
- 13:45Those vivid yellow blooms against grey sky and that
- 13:52extraordinary scent, sweet and warm and utterly out of place in
- 14:03this harsh environment. And maybe you look at this plant
- 14:10and you see tenacity, you see resilience.
- 14:17You see a plant that refuses to accept the rules and the laws of
- 14:24nature. It adapts, it thrives, it
- 14:30survives. And those thorns, those sharp
- 14:37defensive spines, they're not a flaw in the design.
- 14:45They're the intelligence of the design because the gorse knows
- 14:54its environment, it knows about the wind and the animals and the
- 15:03exposure, and it has adapted. And I want you to connect with
- 15:14the very essence of this course because something in you has
- 15:21been this course. The sharp vigilance, the hyper
- 15:28awareness of every variable, the inability to switch off, the
- 15:40early morning wake ups to mitigate all the things that
- 15:46could possibly go wrong, and the anxiety that seems to follow you
- 15:56even when everything is going right.
- 16:03And it hasn't been weakness or a curse.
- 16:08It's been a form of intelligence, a strategy.
- 16:14That said, in those high pressure, high exposure
- 16:19environments where the stakes are real and the weather is
- 16:25unpredictable, this is how we survive and thrive.
- 16:35And those gold medals, those accolades, that recognition are
- 16:41evidence. Evidence of thriving, not just
- 16:47surviving. To allow yourself to stand here
- 16:54by the gauze for a moment and feel something you may not have
- 17:00allowed yourself to feel before. No gratitude for a smell in the
- 17:08air or sunshine on your skin. Gratitude for those qualities
- 17:18within. Gratitude for the course within
- 17:20you. Not pride, not arrogance, but
- 17:26genuine, clean gratitude. The same gratitude you offer for
- 17:34others and things in your life. Everything from your eyesight to
- 17:44a sunrise to a smell. So thank this version of
- 17:51yourself. It got you this far.
- 17:58It deserves some credit. So thank it this course, it's an
- 18:08internal alchemist. Instead of turning lead into
- 18:12gold, it turned pressure stress high stakes into 16 gold awards.
- 18:23And you can be grateful for what it built.
- 18:27And you can also know that it is no longer the only tool you
- 18:34need. So now in this garden you become
- 18:48aware of something you hadn't noticed before, because you are
- 18:57also the gardener here, this garden within your imagination.
- 19:13And I want you to imagine seeing a cutting, a young stem, no more
- 19:23than 6 inches long, carefully taken, that clean diagonal cut
- 19:31at the base from a rose. And not a modern hybrid, an old
- 19:41rose, the kind that has grown in cottage gardens for hundreds of
- 19:47years. The kind that was here in this
- 19:52landscape before any garden shows existed.
- 20:03You can feel the stem between your fingers, the slight
- 20:08roughness of it. The just beginning thorns
- 20:14smaller and fewer than the gore spines, but there still there.
- 20:23Because a rose is not naive. A rose is not undefended.
- 20:32A rose simply chooses where to direct its energy.
- 20:40So let's create something magical.
- 20:45I want you to harness wisdom, knowledge, and I want you to
- 20:54imagine finding a place. A place there on the gorse, a
- 21:07stem, perhaps close, close to where the roots come above the
- 21:16surface. Because the roots of this course
- 21:22are deep, established, almost indestructible.
- 21:29So let's keep the roots, all that tenacity, all that capacity
- 21:35to thrive, all of that extraordinary ability to flower
- 21:41profusely. Let's keep the standards, the
- 21:46excellence, the deep hard won knowledge, all of that stays.
- 21:57Because when you've grafted this rose there unto the gauze, what
- 22:04changes is the surface, the relationship with the world, the
- 22:12way the flowering happens. And as you make this union, what
- 22:22you're choosing is a future. A future of maintaining your
- 22:29high standards, your preparation, but your choosing
- 22:38gratitude, joy and worthiness. That's what the roses represent.
- 22:47So as you make this union, and the gorse and the Rose become
- 22:52one Organism, notice something extraordinary beginning to
- 22:59happen. The new growth takes, it always
- 23:08does, in the right conditions. And what rises from these
- 23:14ancient, proven roots is something that has never existed
- 23:20before. A plant that can survive
- 23:25anything and still produce extraordinary beauty with ease.
- 23:36Plant whose thorns are real but proportionate.
- 23:41That says I protect what matters, but I no longer need to
- 23:47defend against everything. A plant whose flowers open
- 23:55fully, not cautiously, not with one eye on the wind, but fully,
- 24:02confidently, scenting the air around them.
- 24:12I don't need to start imagining your future, keeping your roots,
- 24:20keeping your wisdom, keeping your knowledge.
- 24:27But I wonder what it looks like in this busy season when you get
- 24:33to enjoy and feel grateful to not wait for that moment of
- 24:42relief, but to actually enjoy the privilege of getting to this
- 24:50place. What if that means you're
- 24:55smiling? More problems in our challenges,
- 25:02logistical difficulties in our puzzles.
- 25:07Moments of recognition aren't needed for validation.
- 25:13You don't need to be acknowledged, but you can like
- 25:18it. You can enjoy it.
- 25:26I want you to feel what it would feel like go through the next
- 25:31few weeks and months, but the primary emotion is gratitude,
- 25:44even a difficult problem. You can feel privileged that you
- 25:50get to have this problem because many people would never
- 25:57experience these problems because they've never gotten to
- 26:02where you've gotten to connect with worthiness.
- 26:12If someone judges you well, you can appreciate it.
- 26:18If someone judges you harshly, you can accept it.
- 26:23Your value, your competency, does not change just because
- 26:32someone else does not recognize it.
- 26:38And I want you to imagine that in a dialogue, worrying about
- 26:47everything that can go wrong starts to subtly change.
- 26:56Saying things like this is a high quality problem, This is
- 27:04solvable. This is something we don't have
- 27:09to do, we get to do. And I wonder where worthiness
- 27:16sits. Somewhere in your body, maybe
- 27:20the heart, the head, the chest, or the gut.
- 27:25You know, where gratitude lives. Amplify it and just imagine
- 27:31milestone moments over the next few weeks and months and what it
- 27:36would be like to feel joy in those moments that historically
- 27:41have been stressful. Turn up the joy, amplify the
- 27:48gratitude, feel the just as a rose emits a scent, you are
- 27:59emitting gratitude and worthiness, and the people
- 28:05around you can feel it because they see you maintaining high
- 28:13standards but enjoying the journey.
- 28:18It brings out even more from them.
- 28:24There is a ripple effect here. There'll be people that you work
- 28:32with that would love to see you celebrate, take that
- 28:43acknowledgement, recognition, embrace it.
- 28:52And I wonder if your intuition can help you, because perhaps 5
- 29:01or 10 years from now, these big events will be memories.
- 29:09And wouldn't it be lovely if some of those memories are
- 29:14filled with joy and gratitude, not stress and anxiety followed
- 29:20by brief relief? And if your unconscious is
- 29:25willing to help, help you to help yourself and in.
- 29:29Doing so. Helping others?
- 29:32Let me know by nodding your head.
- 29:37You have the roots of the gorse, the hardiness of the gorse, but
- 29:44you now have all of those wonderful attributes of the Rose
- 29:53and still prepared, but you can now fully open up, be seen, be
- 30:03visible, be appreciated, be recognised.
- 30:08Not needing to but feeling comfortable being so.
- 30:16And just imagine smelling the Rose connected to the roots of
- 30:21the course and imagining this is now within you and you can look
- 30:30forward. Look forward to training your
- 30:36brain to embrace and relish what in the past has been daunting.
- 30:48It's time to return. So you leave that garden,
- 30:55perhaps go into that old stone cottage, see yourself there on a
- 31:02chair or a bed, and just imagine reconnecting, recalibrating with
- 31:11your physical self, taking a deep breath in through the nose
- 31:18and out through the nose. Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your
- 31:24toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now.
- 31:30As I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 31:35You will awaken with the roots of the gorse, but now the stem
- 31:42and the flowers of the Rose starting to count. 123 Waking
- 31:50up. 456 More alert 7-8 Open your eyes.
- 31:56Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
