- 2:37Speaker 2: with you today, and I hope my listeners are as well,
- 2:40Speaker 2: because I know those of you listening out there have
- 2:45Speaker 2: already resonated with the things that I have said and
- 2:48Speaker 2: that you have said to us. Foggy, can't remember things,
- 2:55Speaker 2: can't make decisions, etc.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Etc.
- 2:58Speaker 2: For so many different reasons that I'd look forward to
- 3:01Speaker 2: hearing from you. So, Sander, welcome to the show.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, this is going to be wonderful.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Good Well.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I always ask this question first because I think the
- 3:11Speaker 2: context is really helpful for our listeners, and that is,
- 3:15Speaker 2: how did you get into this work? What brought you
- 3:17Speaker 2: here in your personal life, your own healing journey.
- 3:21Speaker 4: There's so many different ways to answer that. I'm going
- 3:24Speaker 4: to talk about the most recent part, how I got
- 3:28Speaker 4: to combining the work I was doing before with the
- 3:31Speaker 4: brain exercise method that I really want to talk about today.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I am one of those people who have struggled to
- 3:39Speaker 4: figure out who I'm helping and what I'm doing for
- 3:43Speaker 4: them an a year after you as like I've been
- 3:45Speaker 4: all over the map trying to figure out how M
- 3:48Speaker 4: targeting my obvious and the truth was that I really
- 3:51Speaker 4: really wanted to do was to work with people with
- 3:54Speaker 4: brain injuries, because I've helped people with brain injuries. But
- 3:59Speaker 4: I didn't like I had enough credibility. I didn't feel
- 4:02Speaker 4: like I had enough of what it took to be
- 4:05Speaker 4: able to do that, and so I was like looking
- 4:07Speaker 4: at I was not consistent. I was not in harmony
- 4:10Speaker 4: with myself around this, So the love with myself was
- 4:15Speaker 4: just really messed up. So I help people. I see
- 4:21Speaker 4: what's going on in somebody's brain. I see where the
- 4:25Speaker 4: energy is stuck. I see what the issues are, and
- 4:27Speaker 4: I can help people get that energy moving in their
- 4:30Speaker 4: brain better so that their brain does heal and they
- 4:35Speaker 4: can have the symptoms ease and feel better. So I've
- 4:38Speaker 4: been doing that for a while, using a tuning fork
- 4:43Speaker 4: in a hockey puck and intuitively seeing what's going on
- 4:48Speaker 4: nice and then recently the transition was adding this chart
- 4:54Speaker 4: of arrows. This is called combat combat brain training, and
- 4:59Speaker 4: it's brain exercises that cause your brain to have to
- 5:05Speaker 4: work to make decisions while you are using your eyes
- 5:09Speaker 4: to see and while you're using your voice to talk
- 5:13Speaker 4: and it stimulates you. It gives your brain all these
- 5:16Speaker 4: stimuli that has your brain be able to focus better,
- 5:21Speaker 4: it can heal better, and you can get better results.
- 5:26Speaker 4: So this is a method that has been proven to work,
- 5:32Speaker 4: documented to work. So it's like, hmm, that looks interesting.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So I learned this and I found that when I'm
- 5:40Speaker 4: doing this, this helps what I'm doing with the sound
- 5:43Speaker 4: healing with THEO. It helps me get better results with
- 5:47Speaker 4: the healing that I'm doing, and the healing that I'm
- 5:50Speaker 4: doing helps people get better results with the chart. So
- 5:55Speaker 4: I have found that doing this, I am able to
- 5:58Speaker 4: get better result results in helping people heal from injuries,
- 6:04Speaker 4: from things like dementia and not being able to focus
- 6:09Speaker 4: and all those things that it just all starts to improve. Wow. Yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 4: and so that alone is like astonishing and amazing.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Yes, And then.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Thinking about you and what you do in your podcast,
- 6:25Speaker 4: I wanted to mention this. It also helps people relate
- 6:28Speaker 4: to each other better. Emotion emotional regulation. Okay, when when
- 6:35Speaker 4: people have head injuries, a really common thing that happens
- 6:39Speaker 4: is that they have angry outbursts and their emotions are
- 6:43Speaker 4: all over the place. So very imbalanced because the brain
- 6:47Speaker 4: is having a hard time like controlling itself when it's
- 6:50Speaker 4: injured like that. So understandably, brain injury leads to this
- 6:56Speaker 4: this emotional imbalance. So when we're doing the combat this
- 7:02Speaker 4: is called combat brainchain. When you're doing this, when you
- 7:07Speaker 4: do it with another person, it increases relatedness and cooperation
- 7:16Speaker 4: and empathy because if I have you, and if I
- 7:20Speaker 4: have you and another person do the chart and you know,
- 7:24Speaker 4: basically say the directions of the arrows is what you're doing,
- 7:27Speaker 4: say the arrows, but you want to do it with
- 7:30Speaker 4: at the same time as another person. You have to
- 7:34Speaker 4: be able to read the signals of what's going on
- 7:37Speaker 4: with you know, where are they with the with the
- 7:40Speaker 4: goal of saying the arrow at the same time. So
- 7:44Speaker 4: it requires like tuning in to how other people are feeling,
- 7:49Speaker 4: where are they, where are they in their process so
- 7:52Speaker 4: that we work together, we collaborate, and so it's it's
- 7:58Speaker 4: relationship building.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds like coherence, like emotional coherence or coregulation
- 8:05Speaker 2: is another word that we use, yep. And it sounds
- 8:08Speaker 2: like you're saying that if people use this brain retraining modality,
- 8:13Speaker 2: which is called combat combat brain.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Retraining, combat brain training, yeah, combat.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Brain training, that if they use it together, then it
- 8:24Speaker 2: brings them to a space of coregulation. And what we
- 8:30Speaker 2: know is when people are in coregulation, they are connected,
- 8:34Speaker 2: like you said, more appt to have empathy for each other,
- 8:38Speaker 2: compassion for each other, understanding for each other, and a
- 8:42Speaker 2: much better space to have effective communication.
- 8:45Speaker 3: And that's challenging for couples because.
- 8:47Speaker 2: They go out into the world, they do their thing,
- 8:49Speaker 2: they're tending to different, very different things from each other,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and then they're kind of expected to like show up
- 8:54Speaker 2: at dinner time and be like, Okay, we're connected, and
- 8:56Speaker 2: of course it doesn't happen that way. And in my
- 9:00Speaker 2: couple's therapy practice, you know, there's lots of different modalities
- 9:03Speaker 2: that I was using when I was really focused on
- 9:06Speaker 2: that kind of work. And it sounds like this is
- 9:08Speaker 2: another piece to support them in coming back together or
- 9:13Speaker 2: in my language, coming back to love with.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Interesting. Wow, that's really cool.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean I did part of my program. It includes
- 9:24Speaker 2: brain retraining, which is interesting that we are here together today,
- 9:29Speaker 2: my book which is sitting right here. I know my
- 9:31Speaker 2: readers can't my listeners can't see it because we're on
- 9:34Speaker 2: the radio, but I'm just showing it if it can
- 9:37Speaker 2: even show up on the screen. Part of the four
- 9:42Speaker 2: Gates approach to coming back to love includes rewiring the
- 9:49Speaker 2: brain because for me, in the trauma that I experienced
- 9:53Speaker 2: in my life a long time ago as a child,
- 9:55Speaker 2: I did a lot of emotional healing, really helpful over
- 9:59Speaker 2: many men years, very helpful, but I couldn't quite get
- 10:05Speaker 2: to it completely. It was like something just I had
- 10:09Speaker 2: some physical symptoms that just were still persisting no matter
- 10:14Speaker 2: what I did. They would get a little better, but
- 10:16Speaker 2: they wouldn't, like completely heal.
- 10:19Speaker 3: And you know, sort.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Of coincidence which I don't really believe in. I believe
- 10:24Speaker 2: this was, you know, something meant for me. A friend
- 10:27Speaker 2: introduced me to one of the brain retraining programs and
- 10:32Speaker 2: it was COVID, and I was like, sure, why not.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm feeling this.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I'm feeling that I have a lot of time on
- 10:38Speaker 2: my hands. And I did the program for a solid year.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It didn't take a solid year for improvements to happen.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Improvements happened right away, and it took a real deep
- 10:50Speaker 2: commitment on my part to heal. And those symptoms are
- 10:53Speaker 2: actually completely gone since twenty twenty one. And so I'm
- 10:58Speaker 2: a huge fan of brain retraining, and I teach some
- 11:04Speaker 2: of it to my clients to work on limiting beliefs
- 11:09Speaker 2: that are stuck.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Wow, yeah, I know that. The origin of all of
- 11:20Speaker 4: what's been ineffective in my life. What happened at six
- 11:23Speaker 4: months old? You know, my parents left. My parents left
- 11:27Speaker 4: for three days, left me with an aunt and uncle,
- 11:31Speaker 4: and I thought my mother wasn't coming back, and I
- 11:35Speaker 4: freaked out. I panicked, I yelled and screamed, and she
- 11:38Speaker 4: didn't come back. And so I said, Okay, I have
- 11:41Speaker 4: to take care of myself. Yeah, and a coach helped
- 11:45Speaker 4: me realize what I was never going to be able
- 11:47Speaker 4: to see myself that in addition to deciding I have
- 11:50Speaker 4: take care of myself as I have to take care
- 11:52Speaker 4: of everybody else too. Ah.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Yes, I'm raising my hand on that one. Both of those. Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 4: And this led to fear abandonment. So it's like today,
- 12:03Speaker 4: what that looks like is I don't like making phone calls.
- 12:07Speaker 4: How many people don't like making phone calls in their business?
- 12:11Speaker 4: Fear of rejection was so huge that making phone calls
- 12:15Speaker 4: was actively dangerous as far as I was concerned, and
- 12:18Speaker 4: there was no way I was doing that, and fear
- 12:23Speaker 4: about making mistakes. I used to think that if I
- 12:26Speaker 4: made a mistake, of the end of the universe, not
- 12:29Speaker 4: just the end of me, but the end of everything.
- 12:32Speaker 4: So I was six months old and I don't have
- 12:36Speaker 4: a you know, a logical conclusion to make. This is
- 12:40Speaker 4: why anytime I don't know how to do something or whatever,
- 12:43Speaker 4: it's like God just this complete overwhelm and panic. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: so when I was in NLP training, I put all
- 12:55Speaker 4: these pieces together realized why I just had this panic,
- 13:00Speaker 4: seek out response to everything. It's like, well, because there's
- 13:03Speaker 4: six months old making the decisions here.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 4: And then and then I was in a big sashion
- 13:09Speaker 4: to heal it all, and I was talking to my
- 13:13Speaker 4: mother in my mind and you know, sobbings not everywhere,
- 13:18Speaker 4: and everything came out. And then it's like it was
- 13:21Speaker 4: like empty, and time stood still, and all the colors
- 13:27Speaker 4: looked different, and the pain in my neck and head
- 13:30Speaker 4: was gone.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Amazing, yeah, amazing.
- 13:34Speaker 4: It's like for decades I have believed that it's possible
- 13:38Speaker 4: to heal physical things with mental and emotional healing, but
- 13:43Speaker 4: I hadn't experienced it yet, and so there was always
- 13:47Speaker 4: this doubt, is it real? Can I do that? And
- 13:51Speaker 4: so when it finally happens, it's like, oh, oh my gosh,
- 13:54Speaker 4: it actually is true.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yes, I want to just let that land firm because
- 14:00Speaker 2: I'm thinking of our listeners as I'm always doing when
- 14:03Speaker 2: I'm you know, on this radio show in this radio station,
- 14:07Speaker 2: and like, how many people out there also have that
- 14:11Speaker 2: question or had had or have that question like is
- 14:16Speaker 2: it possible to heal? Is it actually possible? And if so,
- 14:21Speaker 2: how you know? And there are a lot of modalities
- 14:24Speaker 2: of course, but yeah, I think for me too. Until
- 14:29Speaker 2: I found the brain retraining, I felt like, Okay, I
- 14:35Speaker 2: healed some you know, this is great. I felt a
- 14:38Speaker 2: thousand times better than I had been feeling earlier in
- 14:41Speaker 2: my life because I had a similar experience to you
- 14:45Speaker 2: with abandonment very early on and my parents leaving me
- 14:49Speaker 2: different places because my mother was getting treatments for different
- 14:52Speaker 2: things for cancer and actually they never told us that
- 14:56Speaker 2: she had cancer, so they would just drop me and
- 14:59Speaker 2: my sister off without any explanation. And you know, similar
- 15:02Speaker 2: to you, it's like, you know, like total freak out,
- 15:06Speaker 2: like yep, you know, even if it was people that
- 15:09Speaker 2: I that I knew it wasn't my parents, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and I was really young, so I totally get it.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And yeah, I really appreciate what you said and feel
- 15:21Speaker 2: feel like I'm celebrating the fact that, like you were
- 15:23Speaker 2: able to make that connection. I would love to hear
- 15:27Speaker 2: about and I bet my listeners would too, and our
- 15:29Speaker 2: listeners would love to hear about sound sound healing.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I love sound healing.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Yes, So when I am working with somebody's brain or
- 15:41Speaker 4: something going on in their bodies, not necessarily just in
- 15:44Speaker 4: the brain, I see it in my mind, and their
- 15:50Speaker 4: bodies talk to me, show me what they are too
- 15:54Speaker 4: close to themselves to be able to see. And I
- 15:58Speaker 4: see the structures in the body, and I see the
- 16:02Speaker 4: energy and where the energy is stuck and where the
- 16:05Speaker 4: energy is flowing, and I see the issues that are
- 16:10Speaker 4: stuck in the area. So when I use the tuning
- 16:14Speaker 4: fork on the hockey pock to make the sound, it
- 16:17Speaker 4: amplifies what I see. It amplifies the emotional intensity, it
- 16:23Speaker 4: amplifies the energy of it, and I use this to
- 16:29Speaker 4: help it shift and move inside the person I am
- 16:33Speaker 4: working with. I love helping people understand the anatomy. So
- 16:41Speaker 4: when I see the structures. You know, I have a baptism,
- 16:44Speaker 4: chemistry and a background in science and all that stuff,
- 16:46Speaker 4: and I explain to them what's going on in their
- 16:49Speaker 4: body that they don't really understand, but I want to
- 16:53Speaker 4: empower them to be able to help themselves. So the
- 16:57Speaker 4: more they understand, the more they can help themselves. So
- 17:01Speaker 4: what I think and what I feel and what I
- 17:03Speaker 4: tell my body to do, it's like instructions. If I
- 17:07Speaker 4: want to heal this, whatever it is in my body,
- 17:10Speaker 4: it is like telling my body, this is what I want,
- 17:14Speaker 4: and so doing this helps me to see it and
- 17:19Speaker 4: then give them instructions, and it's like it shows me
- 17:23Speaker 4: a roadmap for the healing that the person has to do.
- 17:29Speaker 4: So I just take whatever it is that I look at,
- 17:32Speaker 4: it their their soul. Their body is giving me information
- 17:34Speaker 4: so that they can hear it, so I receive it.
- 17:38Speaker 4: I tell them, and then they're giving instructions to their
- 17:42Speaker 4: body what they want their body to do. And at
- 17:44Speaker 4: the same time, I am doing it from the outside
- 17:49Speaker 4: energetically as well.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Got it. Wow? Fascinating.
- 17:52Speaker 2: So the sound is really opening or supporting you and
- 17:56Speaker 2: more in a in a more deeply.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Opening to your own intuition.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, like your intuition is there.
- 18:03Speaker 3: You're an intuitive person.
- 18:05Speaker 2: You can see with your eyes certain things, like my
- 18:09Speaker 2: intuition shows up in a certain way. Your shows up
- 18:12Speaker 2: this way. But when you use the sound, it's it's
- 18:17Speaker 2: it's opening more for you to get even more information.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Yep. And the client, you know, the person, they like it.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yeah, they like you're saying.
- 18:28Speaker 4: So it's like when I go to an in person
- 18:30Speaker 4: networking meeting, they always like it. When I do this,
- 18:33Speaker 4: and you know I have friends, it's like, oh, I
- 18:35Speaker 4: just you know, they relax when I do the tuning part.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very relaxing. Some people use just the tuning
- 18:42Speaker 2: fork to do healing on bodies. You know, you lye
- 18:44Speaker 2: on a table and they'll do the vibrational healing with
- 18:48Speaker 2: the tuning fork on the body itself. You're using it
- 18:51Speaker 2: in a slightly different way, but we know that the
- 18:53Speaker 2: vibration of the sound is healing the frequencies.
- 18:57Speaker 3: The frequency is amazing, right.
- 18:59Speaker 4: So this particular set of set of equipment, this is
- 19:03Speaker 4: this is the tuning forks from biofilm tuning. Some tuning
- 19:06Speaker 4: forks are designed to have a very strong frequency of
- 19:09Speaker 4: the actual frequency on the fork, so the frequency of
- 19:12Speaker 4: these one hundred and seventy four hurts. Some are designed
- 19:14Speaker 4: to have the as pure a tone as possible. It's
- 19:18Speaker 4: not really possible to have it be a completely pure tone,
- 19:20Speaker 4: but some tuning forks are designed to have as strong tuning.
- 19:25Speaker 4: So this, you know, the equipment from biofed Tuning, is
- 19:29Speaker 4: designed to have an impure tone. So it's got that
- 19:32Speaker 4: strong tone, but then it's got all sorts of harmonics
- 19:36Speaker 4: other frequencies available as well. So when I am working
- 19:40Speaker 4: with you, there is something in your body or in
- 19:44Speaker 4: your being is that needs a certain frequency, and if
- 19:47Speaker 4: I have a broad spectrum of frequencies available, your system
- 19:52Speaker 4: can draw from it the frequencies that you need.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Oh nice.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Yeah, So that's why I like using this this particular
- 20:00Speaker 4: or tuning fork, and this equipment is opposed to the
- 20:03Speaker 4: ones that have the more pure tone.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Nice, really nice.
- 20:07Speaker 2: So we have a little more time today and I'm
- 20:12Speaker 2: just shout out to our listeners and thank you for
- 20:14Speaker 2: being here. I'm curious if we talked about brain fog,
- 20:19Speaker 2: and as a sixty year old woman, as someone who
- 20:21Speaker 2: works in the relationship field, what I hear mostly And
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm sure you're not going to be surprised what I'm
- 20:26Speaker 2: going to say, and that is that people that are
- 20:28Speaker 2: going through menopause or perimenopause and menopause, a lot of
- 20:32Speaker 2: people talk about brain fog, and I wonder, yeah, how
- 20:37Speaker 2: your work or how the combat brain brain training program, like,
- 20:43Speaker 2: have you worked with clients that are in that situation.
- 20:47Speaker 4: I've really just started doing combat brain training. It's been
- 20:51Speaker 4: a recent addition to what I do. And working with
- 20:56Speaker 4: hormone balance, there's a big part of that. Okay, My
- 21:01Speaker 4: first suggestion is always to make sure you get enough
- 21:05Speaker 4: water so that that's you know, always, that's going to
- 21:13Speaker 4: be a good recommendation to start off with. Then looking
- 21:16Speaker 4: at how are you doing nutritionally because hormone balance is
- 21:22Speaker 4: going to be all over the place when it comes
- 21:24Speaker 4: to these changes, and supporting nutrition as much as possible
- 21:28Speaker 4: so that your body has the basic building blocks that
- 21:31Speaker 4: it needs to be able to. Then regulate the hormones
- 21:35Speaker 4: as much as possible back towards normal. Then I would
- 21:40Speaker 4: look at, okay, so how is the energy moving in
- 21:43Speaker 4: your body? You know, if the energy is not moving,
- 21:46Speaker 4: then things aren't going to work properly. Is there trauma
- 21:49Speaker 4: to deal with? So all the things that I would
- 21:53Speaker 4: normally work with for somebody, and then you know, looking
- 21:58Speaker 4: at what are your thoughts, what are your beliefs, because
- 22:01Speaker 4: all of those are going to have a big impact.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Are there stresses in your life and in relationships? All
- 22:06Speaker 4: these factors? You know, the truth is we have incredibly
- 22:11Speaker 4: complex lives and our ability to juggle like a zillion
- 22:17Speaker 4: things is kind of astonishing actually what we are able
- 22:22Speaker 4: to do. Yes, and at a time when the body
- 22:25Speaker 4: naturally is reregulating and trying to figure out how to
- 22:30Speaker 4: do hormones, which is the whole menopause thing, it takes
- 22:35Speaker 4: our normal are what we're used to being able to accomplish,
- 22:40Speaker 4: what we're used to being able to do, to do
- 22:43Speaker 4: whatever we need to do, and it's like it shifts
- 22:45Speaker 4: it to a different place. And so it's like what's
- 22:49Speaker 4: going on ah at the same time, So you know,
- 22:54Speaker 4: there's so many things to do.
- 22:57Speaker 2: So true, I'm really glad to hear that this work
- 23:00Speaker 2: is applicable to menopause, to rebalancing hormones into looking at
- 23:05Speaker 2: all the factors. Because I'll just say briefly before we
- 23:08Speaker 2: closer today that you know, I think a lot of
- 23:10Speaker 2: women feel like it's a given. You know, I'm going
- 23:13Speaker 2: through menopause. I'm going to have these symptoms. My sex
- 23:16Speaker 2: life is over. You know, I'm gonna have brain fog,
- 23:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna have night sweats. And I went through menopause
- 23:20Speaker 2: early in my life. I didn't have any of those experiences,
- 23:23Speaker 2: So I talk a lot about Actually, no, you know,
- 23:26Speaker 2: that's not a given. And there are so many factors
- 23:29Speaker 2: that you just mentioned which I really appreciate.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I also had zero menopause symptoms.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I had a few, but a lot of acupuncture
- 23:38Speaker 2: just you know, they went away.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yep.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Nutrition, nutrition, yes, nutrition, nutrition and acupuncture for me,
