  Now, catching up.
• 1:05
  How is everybody this week?
• 1:07
  It's the week before Thanksgiving.
• 1:09
  That usually means things
• 1:10
  are a little bit rushed.
• 1:12
  But you don't celebrate
• 1:13
  Thanksgiving like we do, Carolyn,
• 1:15
  because you're in Canada.
• 1:17
  Ours is just in October.
• 1:20
okay so yours is over yeah
• 1:22
ours is yeah ours is over
• 1:23
and ours is also on a
• 1:24
  monday yours is a thursday
• 1:27
  and yours is basically a
• 1:28
  week long everyone gets off
• 1:30
work a lot of times like I
• 1:32
  only get thursday off and
• 1:34
it stinks so I have to go
• 1:36
back to work on friday okay
• 1:38
which is yeah you have to
• 1:42
go back to work on friday
• 1:43
  Yeah,
• 1:44
which like there'll be me and five
• 1:45
  other people.
• 1:46
  Yeah, that's terrible.
• 1:48
The volume will be very low.
• 1:51
  Yeah,
• 1:51
I feel like most we mostly here in the US,
• 1:54
  most people have Friday off
• 1:55
  because it's Black Friday
• 1:56
  shopping like that.
• 1:58
I mean, unless you're in retail,
• 1:59
you're off and then you're shopping.
• 2:01
  The state government,
• 2:03
we've got to work for those
• 2:04
  the taxpayers.
• 2:06
They we can't get a free day off.
• 2:09
  Fair enough.
• 2:10
  Yeah.
• 2:10
  Lucas has Wednesday, Thursday,
• 2:12
  Friday off school.
• 2:13
So just has to go to school Monday,
• 2:15
  Tuesday.
• 2:18
When I was a kid, we had Wednesday,
• 2:19
  Thursday, Friday, Monday.
• 2:21
  Whoa.
• 2:22
Cause Monday used to be the
• 2:23
first day of buck season in Pennsylvania.
• 2:27
If they tried to hold school,
• 2:28
there'd be like three people there.
• 2:29
  Yes.
• 2:31
  So.
• 2:33
  I but they've changed all
• 2:35
  that around since I've left
• 2:37
  so I don't even know
• 2:38
  anything about that anymore
• 2:42
but I did see some um some
• 2:46
  fun new stuff uh caitlyn
• 2:48
  clark is part of the
• 2:50
  ownership group that's
• 2:51
  trying to bring soccer to
• 2:52
  cincinnati for the women
• 2:54
  did see that yeah
• 2:56
  So she is really getting
• 2:57
  ingrained into this
• 2:58
  tri-state area of Indianapolis, Columbus,
• 3:01
  Cincinnati, that little triangle.
• 3:05
It's nice to see that she's
• 3:07
  in a position already in
• 3:08
her career to be able to
• 3:11
  dive into some investment
• 3:14
  stuff for other female sports.
• 3:17
  So that's cool.
• 3:19
  Yeah.
• 3:21
  So that's cool.
• 3:21
  It's super exciting.
• 3:22
I know Andrew Sten is like a major, um, uh,
• 3:25
  Cincinnati FC fan.
• 3:27
So I'm curious to know what
• 3:29
  he thinks of all that.
• 3:31
  Um, oh, there's mama Switzer.
• 3:32
  I still get Monday off.
• 3:34
  Nice.
• 3:37
  So there we are.
• 3:39
Um, I was, uh, watching football today.
• 3:41
  Of course.
• 3:43
  Um,
• 3:43
I was talking to Lex briefly and she
• 3:46
  said her forty niners and
• 3:47
  just sent me poop emojis.
• 3:52
She's not having a good day,
• 3:55
  and they have nobody left
• 3:56
  on their roster.
• 3:57
  They're hurt, so hurt.
• 4:00
It's not even the same team
• 4:01
as last year at this point.
• 4:02
  It's just not comparable.
• 4:05
The Lions kept rolling and rolling.
• 4:09
  It didn't look great, though,
• 4:11
  if I'm being completely honest.
• 4:13
I had that game on my second TV.
• 4:16
I thought the Colts looked good,
• 4:17
  but they just couldn't get
• 4:18
  it in the end zone.
• 4:20
When they would get down to the red zone,
• 4:21
  they couldn't score.
• 4:23
Like they would take it down the field.
• 4:24
  Great.
• 4:25
And then, and we just got lucky.
• 4:27
  I feel like it was.
• 4:30
And the bears don't know what luck is,
• 4:32
  man.
• 4:33
  I was ruined for you.
• 4:36
  Oh, thanks, John Young.
• 4:38
  I forgot he's a Vikings fan.
• 4:40
And just like the past few weeks,
• 4:43
the Bears do just enough to
• 4:46
get me back in the game,
• 4:48
  the sliver of hope,
• 4:50
just to snatch it away at the end.
• 4:54
  I mean,
• 4:54
the first team to actually do this
• 4:56
  successful onside kick.
• 4:58
  Yeah,
• 4:58
the first team to get an onside kick
• 5:00
  this year.
• 5:01
  There's my hope.
• 5:03
  And then they score the
• 5:04
field goal to tie the game.
• 5:05
And then they come out and
• 5:06
just Lex's poop emoji, their first series,
• 5:10
  total poop emoji,
• 5:12
and then have to punt to
• 5:14
the Vikings and couldn't stop them.
• 5:17
  Oh, I'm so mad.
• 5:18
  Yeah.
• 5:20
  But such is life.
• 5:23
I think this is just going
• 5:23
to be the story of my
• 5:24
Sundays the rest of the year.
• 5:28
  Well, let's hope.
• 5:28
I mean, for my sake next week.
• 5:32
  Well, that's a Thursday.
• 5:33
  I know.
• 5:34
Who do the Lions play next Thursday?
• 5:38
  All the Bears.
• 5:40
  On our Thanksgiving holiday.
• 5:41
  Thanksgiving.
• 5:42
  That's a big one.
• 5:45
  I didn't watch any football
• 5:47
today except for when I got,
• 5:48
so I redid my level two this weekend.
• 5:51
  And when I got home,
• 5:53
I saw the score of the
• 5:55
  Niners game when I think
• 5:57
they were in the fourth quarter.
• 5:57
And I was like, nope, switch that.
• 5:59
And then the reps ahead was starting.
• 6:01
  And I was like, perfect.
• 6:03
  Yeah.
• 6:04
So where do we want to start tonight?
• 6:06
Because there's a lot to talk about.
• 6:08
  There's a lot.
• 6:10
I guess you want to start
• 6:11
  with the CrossFit season.
• 6:14
  Okay.
• 6:15
So I'm sure everybody has seen it.
• 6:17
I will tell you that I have
• 6:20
not been able to watch other shows.
• 6:21
I watched a little bit of Spin yesterday.
• 6:24
Um, but honestly I fell asleep.
• 6:27
  I was, I was,
• 6:29
  I was watching it getting
• 6:30
ready for bed and I just was exhausted.
• 6:32
And so I read through it
• 6:34
very vigorously and I think I got it.
• 6:38
Um, so what we have learned is, um, the,
• 6:43
the new season will have a
• 6:44
three week open, just like it always has.
• 6:49
  Um, and I'm going to,
• 6:51
I'm going to pull this up from my notes.
• 6:52
Pretty much the same time as normal.
• 6:56
  Yeah.
• 6:56
  Not much change there.
• 6:58
So I'm going to blow this up.
• 7:01
This kind of talks about all
• 7:02
  the different divisions.
• 7:05
If you haven't seen this already,
• 7:06
  this is on the press
• 7:10
release that came out from CrossFit.
• 7:11
Can you turn that down a little?
• 7:15
  The open is from February
• 7:16
  twenty seventh to March seventeenth.
• 7:19
  Um, then from there,
• 7:21
  no more quarterfinals.
• 7:25
  You're going straight to an
• 7:27
  in affiliate semifinal and
• 7:30
they use the word affiliate, not online.
• 7:34
So I'm assuming this is a,
• 7:36
  an effort to push
• 7:38
everything back to the affiliates, right?
• 7:41
  This was announced first at
• 7:43
  an affiliate gathering.
• 7:46
  And the feedback I've seen
• 7:48
  from affiliate owners has
• 7:50
  been very positive that
• 7:51
  they're doing this.
• 7:52
  Okay.
• 7:57
  So the in-affiliate
• 7:57
  semifinal is April twenty
• 7:59
  fourth through April twenty seventh.
• 8:02
That is four days for individuals.
• 8:06
  I'm sorry.
• 8:08
  That's for teams.
• 8:09
  It's May first through four
• 8:11
  days for individuals.
• 8:14
  And that's a little bit
• 8:16
  shorter than it's been the
• 8:18
last couple of weeks, at least last year.
• 8:20
Remember last year was like forever,
• 8:22
  like six days or?
• 8:25
  Yeah.
• 8:28
  Was it Wednesday through Monday?
• 8:31
Yeah, it was a lot last year.
• 8:32
Everybody was saying it was way too much.
• 8:35
it was like a day or yeah
• 8:37
  for four workouts or
• 8:38
  whatever and you had like
• 8:39
six days it felt like a
• 8:41
long time so this year it's
• 8:43
may first to may fourth and
• 8:45
  then for individuals you
• 8:47
also have the option uh to
• 8:49
  do an in-person qualifying
• 8:51
  event um people are calling
• 8:53
  them sanctionals um and
• 8:56
  that can run anywhere from
• 8:57
april through june which is weird
• 9:02
  That I'm just curious,
• 9:03
  like what the qualifying
• 9:05
  process looks like for those?
• 9:06
  Are they using the semi,
• 9:08
  like the certain amount of
• 9:10
  semifinal athletes,
• 9:11
  like wherever their placement is?
• 9:13
  And let's say,
• 9:14
  is there a maximum that
• 9:15
  people can compete in?
• 9:17
  Like, is it three?
• 9:19
And then how do they figure
• 9:20
  out who they're inviting?
• 9:22
Do they just go down the
• 9:23
list from one all the way?
• 9:25
So if you read the full document,
• 9:26
  there is no maximum that
• 9:28
  you can compete in.
• 9:31
  If it's physically possible,
• 9:33
you could compete in every single one.
• 9:36
  But you're saying that just
• 9:38
  because you're in the... Is
• 9:41
it top-thirty get to compete in any?
• 9:43
  Top-one-thousand?
• 9:44
Do you know what I mean?
• 9:46
Making it in the one percent
• 9:48
in previous years, I don't know,
• 9:49
  for the females,
• 9:50
  it might be a thousand
• 9:51
people making it to the next round.
• 9:53
Let's call it maximum fifteen hundred.
• 9:56
  I don't think we'll have as many sign-ups,
• 9:59
  but
• 10:01
  like,
• 10:01
is it the top one hundred get these ones?
• 10:05
And then it's just how how
• 10:08
  that qualifying process
• 10:09
will work is just interesting to me.
• 10:13
  So reading the document,
• 10:14
it is the top one percent
• 10:15
  move to semis and they
• 10:17
  compete from there.
• 10:20
  They are taking the top
• 10:22
  anywhere from fifteen to
• 10:24
  twenty to the games.
• 10:27
And I don't like that they
• 10:28
  don't even know a number.
• 10:29
  Like, oh,
• 10:30
we're going to be doing – maybe
• 10:32
  we're doing fifteen.
• 10:33
  Maybe we're doing twenty.
• 10:35
  Who knows?
• 10:36
Because I lost my spot the
• 10:37
  one year at the games.
• 10:39
  I thought I was in in twenty-twenty,
• 10:40
  and then I lost it.
• 10:41
If you have those rules, just – Well,
• 10:47
  I don't think they know
• 10:48
  what the in-person events are.
• 10:50
  Right.
• 10:50
  I think that's exactly right.
• 10:51
  And the events qualify
• 10:52
  either one or two people
• 10:53
depending on the strength of the field.
• 10:56
  Yeah.
• 10:57
And how many even agree to
• 11:00
  I mean,
• 11:00
because it sounds like you have to
• 11:02
have done the Open to, like,
• 11:04
you can't just go sign up for,
• 11:06
  let's pretend Wadapalooza is one,
• 11:08
  which it isn't, obviously,
• 11:10
because it's not in April to whatever.
• 11:12
  But pretend Wadapalooza is one.
• 11:15
And this is where I feel
• 11:16
  like a lot of these
• 11:18
  competitions won't want to participate.
• 11:21
If you have to use the Open
• 11:24
  as your qualifier,
• 11:26
some of these comps use a
• 11:28
big qualifier to make their money.
• 11:31
So if they're getting rid of
• 11:33
  their opportunity to do a
• 11:35
  qualifier because it's off
• 11:37
  of the open placement,
• 11:41
now maybe they can still do
• 11:42
  a qualifier for their,
• 11:43
  maybe it's a big enough,
• 11:44
  decent size enough comp
• 11:45
that there's an RX category and teams.
• 11:48
And so they'll have like an
• 11:49
  online qualifier,
• 11:50
make a little bit of money,
• 11:51
  but their elites are chosen
• 11:53
  out of the open.
• 11:55
I guess I can see where it
• 11:56
would work a little bit, but.
• 11:58
  I mean, yeah, Carolyn's right.
• 12:00
Do you have to be in the top
• 12:01
  one percent to even apply?
• 12:04
  It's just confusing, right?
• 12:07
  I get there's a lack of information,
• 12:09
  but...
• 12:12
Because these, let's call them sanctionals,
• 12:15
  sanctional events,
• 12:18
they need to make their money somehow.
• 12:20
  It's just like,
• 12:21
how many invites are they going to give?
• 12:23
And then maybe the rest is
• 12:25
  through an online portion.
• 12:27
  If you're a semifinal
• 12:28
athlete looking to do a particular one,
• 12:30
  but there's people ahead of
• 12:31
you that are already in those, let's say,
• 12:33
five spots or invite or ten spots,
• 12:36
and you still want to do that,
• 12:37
you've got to do an extra
• 12:38
  qualifier before.
• 12:39
  There's just so many...
• 12:41
  It's just messy.
• 12:42
  It's very messy.
• 12:45
But I think that this is par
• 12:47
  for the course.
• 12:49
This is where we've been for years.
• 12:50
  Every year,
• 12:51
there's something new to make it messy.
• 12:55
  And while I like sanctionals
• 12:56
  because it gave us
• 12:57
something to talk about every week almost,
• 13:00
  I hated the messiness of
• 13:01
  who got to the games.
• 13:02
  Mm-hmm.
• 13:04
  Well,
• 13:04
  because this person already qualified,
• 13:05
we can move to number two.
• 13:07
  Wait, they're already qualified.
• 13:08
  We're moving to number three.
• 13:10
It just got, it gets really messy.
• 13:15
And when, when COVID hit and everybody,
• 13:19
  they,
• 13:19
they pulled things back and people
• 13:21
  lost spots they were given.
• 13:22
  And that was crap too.
• 13:25
  Right.
• 13:27
  But it's like,
• 13:29
  I think I remember during
• 13:30
  that period of time,
• 13:32
  and maybe you guys can
• 13:32
  correct me if I'm wrong,
• 13:34
  you would do the open,
• 13:34
but let's say I wanted to
• 13:35
  do the Brazil CrossFit
• 13:39
  Championship at that point.
• 13:41
  I think during the open,
• 13:42
  I also paid a certain
• 13:43
  amount to the Brazil
• 13:45
  CrossFit Championship.
• 13:47
And I would have to post my
• 13:48
score on the open and on
• 13:51
  their website to be like,
• 13:52
I'm looking to use this as a qualifier.
• 13:54
So you're almost like paying twice.
• 13:57
But then your name is already on that.
• 13:58
And it's like, you chose that one.
• 14:00
You can't just like further down the road,
• 14:03
be like, Oh, can I get an invite there?
• 14:05
  It's like, Oh,
• 14:05
well you didn't pay for it at that point.
• 14:07
  I wonder if like anything
• 14:08
  like that will take place.
• 14:09
  If that makes sense.
• 14:10
  I doubt it.
• 14:12
  Yeah.
• 14:12
I think until those are identified, we're,
• 14:15
  we're flying blind.
• 14:20
  Yeah.
• 14:20
So let's get through some of
• 14:21
the nuts and bolts real quick.
• 14:22
  And then we'll talk about
• 14:23
  the overarching concerns.
• 14:25
And that is now when you do
• 14:27
  your in an affiliate semifinal,
• 14:30
you must have an L one
• 14:31
  judge and the judge must
• 14:34
  take the advanced judges course.
• 14:36
  In addition to the judges
• 14:38
  course that already existed,
• 14:40
  but that judges course now
• 14:41
  lasts for three years.
• 14:42
  Yeah, I do like that.
• 14:43
  I think that's good.
• 14:45
  I do.
• 14:45
  I like that too.
• 14:48
The sanctionals will send a minimum of ten,
• 14:51
maximum of fifteen spots to the games.
• 14:54
Again, we talked about that briefly.
• 14:56
  Several sanctional events
• 14:57
and no limit to the amount
• 14:58
  of entries will qualify one
• 15:01
or two men and women to the
• 15:03
  games depending on the size
• 15:04
  of that sanctional.
• 15:06
  Like that's nothing.
• 15:09
When you start thinking about it,
• 15:11
  one to two,
• 15:12
if a bunch of people just want
• 15:14
to go to the same one, that's crazy.
• 15:19
  They're only giving thirty
• 15:20
  spots to the games this
• 15:21
  year instead of forty.
• 15:23
Does it still say a minimum of thirty?
• 15:27
  Or does it say thirty?
• 15:28
  It says thirty.
• 15:29
  Only thirty spots will be
• 15:31
  given to the games.
• 15:32
  Where the qualifier is,
• 15:35
  depending on the sanctionals,
• 15:40
it could be fifteen it could
• 15:41
be ten so the open could be
• 15:44
  fifteen or twenty or maybe
• 15:50
  twenty-five who knows if
• 15:51
  they don't have enough
• 15:52
  sanctionals maybe they go
• 15:53
  twenty-five um uh lex says
• 15:59
  the judges course probably
• 16:00
it'll cost more to last for
• 16:02
  three years and john young
• 16:06
  said it's only thirty okay
• 16:09
  Yeah, I don't love that.
• 16:12
  The decrease in spots?
• 16:13
  Yeah.
• 16:16
The only good thing of this
• 16:20
  newer part is... I mean,
• 16:22
  it's good and bad.
• 16:22
  Actually, I don't know.
• 16:25
  Because you're going to
• 16:26
  get... There's no more
• 16:27
  regional representation.
• 16:31
I still think it's important to do...
• 16:34
  competitions in each region
• 16:36
  to allow local development
• 16:39
  like or global development
• 16:41
I should say um but you you
• 16:45
may end up you're gonna get
• 16:46
  in my opinion better
• 16:49
  athletes ideally to the
• 16:51
games um but you don't you
• 16:53
still don't want to lose that
• 16:56
global push to increase the level.
• 16:58
That's why I think you can
• 16:59
still do those competitions in Africa,
• 17:02
  for instance,
• 17:03
where they have a chance to qualify,
• 17:05
but then someone from North America,
• 17:07
  Europe,
• 17:08
could still make the trip there
• 17:09
  and then grab that spot.
• 17:11
  I just think
• 17:12
  People are like,
• 17:14
  you're constantly looking
• 17:15
at like the history of the
• 17:16
  top forty and you're like,
• 17:18
  there's always ten people
• 17:19
  who don't matter.
• 17:19
  Well,
• 17:20
that's because of the way you
• 17:21
  qualified people in.
• 17:22
And so it didn't matter if
• 17:23
you would do this and still
• 17:25
  allow forty and actual the
• 17:26
  top forty got there.
• 17:27
  It would actually be a
• 17:29
  really exciting off.
• 17:31
all four heats of ten I I
• 17:33
  mean I I just I hate that
• 17:35
  you're just dropping it off
• 17:36
  because the bottom ten
• 17:36
  don't matter we haven't
• 17:38
given it a shot where the
• 17:40
actual top forty made it to
• 17:41
  see and then decide like
• 17:43
yeah we really don't need forty there
• 17:47
  Yeah,
• 17:48
I think they're taking away the region.
• 17:50
And even more than just, you know,
• 17:54
  Africa getting a
• 17:54
  representative and Asia
• 17:55
  getting two representatives or whatever.
• 17:59
What it also does is the
• 18:00
  stacked regions like North
• 18:03
  America East will get the
• 18:05
  right number of people in
• 18:06
because they qualified to get in.
• 18:09
  Through an online competition.
• 18:11
Most of them or Europe or
• 18:14
Europe dominates like they did last year.
• 18:16
  And depending on the
• 18:17
  workouts and like how many
• 18:19
  workouts will be on the
• 18:20
  online portion and what is
• 18:21
  the equipment that's going
• 18:22
  to be released that these
• 18:23
  athletes are going to need?
• 18:24
Is the echo bike going to
• 18:25
  make an appearance?
• 18:27
  Are, are,
• 18:28
you know, certain equipment that you're,
• 18:29
  you traditional
• 18:30
  traditionally see in
• 18:33
  quarterfinals and other, you know,
• 18:35
  the open,
• 18:37
like if you're only inviting the
• 18:38
top one percent, I'm assuming they,
• 18:40
  they would assume that they
• 18:42
  have access to more
• 18:45
  equipment than you can
• 18:46
  normally do online.
• 18:47
But then you also have to
• 18:48
  think about representation
• 18:49
  and not everyone has an
• 18:50
echo bike in South America or, you know,
• 18:54
something, but it'll just be interesting.
• 18:57
  Yeah, so moving on, uh,
• 18:59
thirty or twenty teams will get in, uh,
• 19:02
  instead of,
• 19:02
I think it was thirty-some last year.
• 19:04
  Uh, twenty teams,
• 19:06
only one team per affiliate, uh,
• 19:09
  which is a big change.
• 19:10
That means Invictus only gets one,
• 19:13
  Oslo only gets one, um,
• 19:15
  and I was reminded that
• 19:16
  there was really only one
• 19:17
  from Cookville Mayhem last year.
• 19:20
  Is the Barn different than...
• 19:24
  I don't know.
• 19:24
I think the other ones were
• 19:25
actually in other parts of the world.
• 19:28
  They just use the name.
• 19:30
  Right.
• 19:30
  Well, yeah.
• 19:31
The Latin America team or whatever.
• 19:34
I guess they're still South America.
• 19:37
I don't know how that works, but yeah,
• 19:39
  I don't, I don't think that matters.
• 19:41
  Like, yeah.
• 19:45
One from per affiliate is totally fine.
• 19:47
  You're going to pick your
• 19:48
  top four best people to
• 19:49
  represent your affiliate.
• 19:51
  And that's all you really
• 19:52
  need there anyway.
• 19:55
  Age group and adaptive will
• 19:56
still be hosted by Legends, Pit,
• 19:58
  and Wheelwod.
• 20:01
  Age groups top two percent
• 20:04
move on to the semi instead
• 20:05
of one or a minimum of two hundred.
• 20:08
Which is a factor in the
• 20:10
sixty plus and sixty five plus.
• 20:12
No number given for game spots.
• 20:15
  I know.
• 20:16
  Are we assuming it's the
• 20:17
  same as last year?
• 20:19
Cause it's run by the same people.
• 20:21
  I don't know.
• 20:22
I hope they shrink it a little.
• 20:23
I kind of hope they shrink it.
• 20:24
I kind of hope that they're
• 20:26
in talks like pit and legends are,
• 20:28
I highly doubt this is happening,
• 20:30
but I hope they're in talks
• 20:32
  to find a venue together
• 20:34
  and combine it and have
• 20:36
  like your normal or whatever,
• 20:38
  figure out the heat size.
• 20:40
  That makes sense.
• 20:41
  Um,
• 20:44
  Yeah,
• 20:44
they they need to fix that because
• 20:47
  even separate weekends
• 20:49
  isn't great for traveling and.
• 20:52
getting these people to different events.
• 20:55
Like they need to be in one unit.
• 20:57
  And what's so difficult
• 20:59
  about watching the age
• 21:01
group is that there are so
• 21:02
many age group and to go
• 21:04
through the same damn workout is so long.
• 21:09
It's long on us, the viewers,
• 21:10
  it's long on the commentators.
• 21:14
  Um,
• 21:14
like there's just so many divisions
• 21:16
  doing the exact same thing.
• 21:17
  It's, it's, it's a lot.
• 21:19
  Yeah.
• 21:20
I will say that is the one
• 21:22
  good thing about separating
• 21:24
  masters and teens is it
• 21:25
sort of breaks that down a little bit.
• 21:27
Um, but I just think for,
• 21:31
  for the sport to grow,
• 21:33
  like families need to be
• 21:34
  going to those competitions
• 21:35
  together and adults seeing
• 21:38
the kids and the kids seeing the adults.
• 21:39
  And yeah, I,
• 21:42
  My thing,
• 21:43
I actually hated at first the
• 21:45
  three floors at Legends,
• 21:48
  but it actually turned out
• 21:49
to be a good thing because
• 21:50
  people could bounce from
• 21:52
  one event to another
• 21:53
  throughout the day and not
• 21:55
have to watch the same event all day.
• 21:59
So that actually made that kind of cool.
• 22:03
  But I digress.
• 22:06
  Season goes open and affiliate.
• 22:07
  We already talked about that.
• 22:10
  Additionally,
• 22:10
  there'll be a pairs
• 22:11
  competition that will
• 22:13
  happen after the season,
• 22:16
but it's based on open performance.
• 22:18
  Yeah.
• 22:22
  basically your um your level
• 22:25
  so like your pair is
• 22:26
  competing against another
• 22:28
  pair of like similar level
• 22:30
and I mean that that idea
• 22:33
  is just to generate more
• 22:34
  money for them really it's
• 22:35
  just uh that's their
• 22:37
  quarter final because it's
• 22:38
  right like it's basically
• 22:39
  right after um the open
• 22:47
No, the Pairs is at MFC.
• 22:49
  It's October.
• 22:51
  That's the finals, right?
• 22:57
  Yeah.
• 22:57
  But it's additional money.
• 23:00
  No,
• 23:00
you would just sign up for... I think
• 23:02
  you're thinking the Community Cup.
• 23:04
  Yeah,
• 23:04
  the Community Cup is... It's
• 23:05
  different than Pairs.
• 23:08
Yeah, the Pairs is... You can take...
• 23:12
  you can take one.
• 23:14
We don't even know if it's same sex.
• 23:16
  I'm actually guessing
• 23:17
they're going to have all of the above.
• 23:20
You can pair up with someone
• 23:21
  based on your open
• 23:22
performance and then wherever you fit,
• 23:24
  you will be moved.
• 23:26
  You have the opportunity to
• 23:27
  go compete for like a
• 23:29
  championship at masters
• 23:31
  fitness collective
• 23:33
  championship championship.
• 23:34
  I know it's,
• 23:36
they changed their name in October.
• 23:39
So that can be done there as well.
• 23:42
and it kind of alludes to
• 23:43
  like things that were
• 23:44
  talked about before the
• 23:45
  games this year where, uh,
• 23:47
  Dave was thinking about
• 23:47
  moving a teams type thing
• 23:49
  after the games.
• 23:50
And I think this is it with
• 23:51
pairs instead of, um, instead of, uh,
• 23:59
like a four person team or
• 24:00
  six person team.
• 24:01
  Like we knew it.
• 24:03
  Right.
• 24:05
  Um,
• 24:07
  And then the Community Cup
• 24:08
is new in twenty twenty five.
• 24:09
  All athletes compete in the
• 24:10
  open and submit scores for
• 24:12
  all workouts will be able
• 24:13
  to continue their season in
• 24:14
  their affiliate with a new
• 24:15
  competition called the Community Cup.
• 24:18
It will be a unique format
• 24:19
  for local athletes to
• 24:20
  compete against their peers
• 24:21
  based on their level earned
• 24:23
  during the open.
• 24:25
I feel like this is just
• 24:26
  basically taking the
• 24:28
  quarterfinals and moving it
• 24:29
to this part of the season.
• 24:33
Except for it's not the top
• 24:35
  twenty five percent.
• 24:36
  It's everybody.
• 24:38
  Yeah,
• 24:38
but how many people are going to I mean,
• 24:40
I guess it gives everyone a shot.
• 24:41
But then you feel like level one, baby.
• 24:45
  There you go.
• 24:49
  Yeah, I don't know.
• 24:52
  It's for money.
• 24:55
Yeah, I mean, so was quarterfinals.
• 24:58
  And there's a lot... I've
• 24:59
  seen a lot of commentary,
• 25:02
  like people posting that
• 25:05
  they're sad about this change,
• 25:07
  that they were basically like...
• 25:11
  percentile last year or or
• 25:13
  twenty six or whatever but
• 25:14
  like they were they were
• 25:15
  excited to do better this
• 25:16
  year and make it into
• 25:17
  quarterfinals and they feel
• 25:18
  a little bummed that that
• 25:19
got taken away from them so
• 25:22
  hopefully I mean hopefully
• 25:23
  those people sign up and
• 25:26
take part in this community cup like
• 25:29
  I think that's why, like, it's there,
• 25:31
  right?
• 25:31
Because it's like there's some people,
• 25:33
even beginners, right, that do the open,
• 25:36
  get hooked,
• 25:38
and they're looking for something else.
• 25:40
And all of a sudden now they
• 25:41
  do this competition with
• 25:43
  people at their own level
• 25:44
and they get to continue a little bit.
• 25:47
And it's something for them to do.
• 25:49
  Mm-hmm.
• 25:53
  Um, Larry young says, well,
• 25:55
this is a first for me,
• 25:56
but I'm not mad at it.
• 25:57
  More people would be nice,
• 25:59
but it did fix a lot of
• 26:00
problems like weak regions, big gyms,
• 26:03
  dominating teams.
• 26:04
I just wonder about the open programming.
• 26:08
I think a lot of people do.
• 26:10
  If you're going straight
• 26:10
  from the open to finals,
• 26:12
like it's gotta be different programming.
• 26:19
  From the open to what?
• 26:20
  To the semifinals?
• 26:22
  I mean,
• 26:23
one percent to me is still quite a bit.
• 26:25
  I don't know.
• 26:28
  A thousand something,
• 26:30
  you're not missing any of
• 26:31
the games athletes that are worthy there.
• 26:35
Unless someone was injured, very sick,
• 26:37
  and just did the bare
• 26:38
  minimum at a workout...
• 26:40
  the top athletes should be
• 26:42
in the top one hundred or
• 26:44
one percent to make it on
• 26:46
  with three workouts with
• 26:47
  four workouts I I believe
• 26:49
  that I agree I I don't I I
• 26:53
  think if you would have
• 26:53
  looked at the top one
• 26:54
  percent from last year's
• 26:55
  open you would have been
• 26:57
fine with who moved on uh
• 27:02
  dryer dagger says I am
• 27:03
  probably going to win the
• 27:04
crossfit games now I'm happy for you man
• 27:09
Uh, I'm going for the level one champ.
• 27:12
  Uh,
• 27:12
Denise Moore is I'm super happy that
• 27:14
quarters are going away for the masters.
• 27:16
We just had way too many
• 27:18
  online qualifiers last year.
• 27:20
  Yeah.
• 27:21
I know following it was a lot,
• 27:23
  so I can't even imagine
• 27:24
doing it that many, that many times.
• 27:28
Well, for the teams as well as one point,
• 27:32
  it was like,
• 27:33
  fifty percent of the teams
• 27:35
  moved on or something.
• 27:36
  It was like,
• 27:37
there was barely any cuts at some point.
• 27:38
And I was like, okay, just cut that part.
• 27:42
  And yet,
• 27:43
Jamie's team got cut because... I know.
• 27:47
We were literally like... Sorry, Jamie.
• 27:50
I mean, in the West region,
• 27:51
it was like all you had to
• 27:53
be was like the top eighty
• 27:54
  percentile and you moved on.
• 27:56
It was a little bit tougher
• 27:57
  in the East region,
• 27:58
but I think I take my comment back.
• 28:01
  I feel bad now.
• 28:04
  Not everyone made it through.
• 28:08
The East region is a tough region.
• 28:09
If it's going to be a region,
• 28:10
you're not going to make it.
• 28:11
  It's it's ours.
• 28:16
  Larry actually says some
• 28:17
  people made it to quarters,
• 28:18
  couldn't do all the movements.
• 28:20
  That has happened at semis.
• 28:21
  We've had live in-person
• 28:23
  semis where people have
• 28:24
made it and couldn't do all the moves.
• 28:26
  But that's making sure that
• 28:27
  there's a continuum in the
• 28:29
  programming and that
• 28:30
  whatever you're programming
• 28:31
  in the open is actually
• 28:33
  weeding out the people that
• 28:34
won't be able to do the next part of
• 28:37
  the qualifiers right like if
• 28:39
  there's no connection
• 28:41
  between the open and the
• 28:43
  next phase and it's just
• 28:45
  like brand new workouts
• 28:47
  like it you're gonna get
• 28:49
  people that they get stuck
• 28:52
  one thing that that we
• 28:53
  didn't really go into a
• 28:54
whole lot is part of the
• 28:56
the solution to that is the
• 28:58
  new requirements for a
• 28:59
judge and you have to post
• 29:02
  your videos online
• 29:04
And they get judged by all
• 29:06
  the qualifying people that
• 29:08
have the level one and the judges course,
• 29:11
and they can go online and
• 29:14
  review the videos.
• 29:15
Finally, how long have I been saying this?
• 29:19
Is this only for the top one
• 29:20
  percent or this work with
• 29:22
  every qualifying division?
• 29:25
  Because I don't think every
• 29:26
  single person that does the
• 29:27
open necessarily need to do their videos.
• 29:31
  But it's like if you're
• 29:32
looking to move on to that next phase,
• 29:35
  then.
• 29:36
Well, I think even for the open, Scott,
• 29:38
like you can't be in the
• 29:39
  top one percent if you
• 29:40
  didn't submit three videos.
• 29:43
Like, I mean, I sure hope that.
• 29:46
  Because I think that it's
• 29:47
  for the in-person affiliate
• 29:50
  semifinals is where the
• 29:52
  judge requirement gets dropped.
• 29:55
But I'll need to reread it.
• 29:56
I read it on Friday and it's
• 29:58
  been two days.
• 29:59
So I'll go back and check.
• 30:02
You got to get people in
• 30:04
  that mindset out the gate.
• 30:07
  Like if you're doing the
• 30:09
  open and you're planning on
• 30:10
  making it straight to,
• 30:13
I understand what you're saying, but,
• 30:14
but we can't have a hundred
• 30:16
  and twenty five thousand videos.
• 30:20
Not even more that like three times that.
• 30:24
  polluting the, and then you're,
• 30:26
  you're reviewing me who has
• 30:29
  no shot at making it,
• 30:30
but who's going to review you?
• 30:31
  No, like that's the thing.
• 30:32
  How are you going to
• 30:34
  separate everyone that is
• 30:35
  around you and the,
• 30:36
and the leaderboard probably reviews you.
• 30:39
  That's what I would think.
• 30:41
Like if you're in the two thousand,
• 30:43
  I feel like the people
• 30:44
  right around you are
• 30:44
  looking at your video.
• 30:45
If you're in the one hundred thousand,
• 30:47
you don't have an L one and
• 30:48
don't have the ability to do it.
• 30:51
So when you submit a video and that's fine,
• 30:54
  I'm saying if you are
• 30:55
  planning on being in the
• 30:56
  top one percent and you
• 30:57
want to move on to the in-person,
• 30:58
you better have submitted a video.
• 31:01
If you didn't and you're you
• 31:04
  finished fiftieth in the open.
• 31:05
  Sorry.
• 31:06
  Where's your videos?
• 31:07
  No,
• 31:08
you actually get to win the workout
• 31:10
  worldwide.
• 31:13
And we get to give you two
• 31:14
  thousand twenty four dollars.
• 31:16
That's how we prevent that happening.
• 31:18
  Don't worry about it.
• 31:18
  Again.
• 31:19
Oh, that's how we prevent that happening.
• 31:20
  You did that workout?
• 31:21
  Oh, okay.
• 31:22
  We believe you.
• 31:24
  Here's the worldwide win.
• 31:27
I think they've removed that this year.
• 31:30
  Hopefully.
• 31:30
  Hopefully.
• 31:31
  So everyone posts their video.
• 31:33
  Like everyone can see it,
• 31:34
  but only people with level
• 31:36
  one in the advanced course
• 31:37
  could judge on it.
• 31:38
Is that what we're getting at?
• 31:39
It's like I could see other videos.
• 31:42
  Yeah.
• 31:42
  I obviously have that certification,
• 31:44
  so I could technically judge.
• 31:46
So this was this used to be
• 31:48
  the case back in like.
• 31:51
  Fifteen or sixteen, seventeen,
• 31:52
  somewhere there.
• 31:53
Been the case where and then
• 31:55
if you took the judge's course,
• 31:57
  you actually had the
• 31:59
ability to to actually put a score.
• 32:02
  Yep.
• 32:03
  Right.
• 32:03
  Not everybody has that ability.
• 32:05
You have to take the judge's course.
• 32:07
  Correct.
• 32:07
  You go through a certain
• 32:08
portal to be able to do that.
• 32:10
Do you think that when you judge a video,
• 32:13
do you think that when you judge a video?
• 32:15
your name should come on it
• 32:18
or you should be able to
• 32:19
  judge anonymously.
• 32:22
  Um, I think, I don't,
• 32:23
I think your name should go on there.
• 32:26
  I think so too.
• 32:27
  I don't have a problem either way.
• 32:29
  Um,
• 32:29
cause people can go on and they're like,
• 32:33
  you know, they're your competition.
• 32:34
  They have their level one,
• 32:34
  they have their judges
• 32:35
course and they're getting all like, no,
• 32:37
like, you know what I mean?
• 32:38
Like, I think that you should be able to,
• 32:40
if, if you're going to judge,
• 32:42
you also put your name behind it.
• 32:43
  And you're like, yeah,
• 32:44
I'm calling you up for this.
• 32:47
  I don't have a problem with that.
• 32:48
  I don't either.
• 32:50
  I think it would prevent
• 32:51
some people from from doing that, though,
• 32:53
  because they're like.
• 32:54
  I don't know, maybe I'm just thinking.
• 32:59
  I think the other.
• 33:02
  I don't know,
• 33:03
maybe we're getting too much in the weeds,
• 33:05
  but.
• 33:07
  Vi actually says,
• 33:08
  I think people would be
• 33:09
petty and vindictive if it was anonymous.
• 33:12
But I don't think one vote should matter.
• 33:15
  I don't think it will.
• 33:17
It's going to be like this
• 33:18
person got one no vote and thirteen yeses,
• 33:22
  then they're probably going
• 33:23
  to pass the video.
• 33:25
  Right.
• 33:26
If it has thirteen no's and one yes,
• 33:30
then my guess is it used to be this way.
• 33:33
Then they took a closer look.
• 33:35
  yeah that's yeah that's
• 33:35
exactly how it was yeah yep
• 33:41
so I I you could be
• 33:43
  vindictive but I don't
• 33:44
  think it's going to carry
• 33:45
  much weight unless there's
• 33:47
a bunch of other votes in
• 33:49
  your direction so and
• 33:54
honestly and even if like so say like
• 33:58
  Two hundred athletes go on
• 33:59
  and a hundred people hate
• 34:01
  Taylor self and they
• 34:03
  downvote his video and it's
• 34:06
  and it's fifty fifty.
• 34:08
  It's going to trigger
• 34:09
somebody at HQ to look at
• 34:10
  that video because it's a
• 34:12
  questionable video.
• 34:13
It's got a lot of votes on it.
• 34:14
  And I would think they're
• 34:15
  objectionable there and can see.
• 34:18
  Yes.
• 34:19
  Yes.
• 34:19
  This was good movement.
• 34:21
  And yes.
• 34:22
  I mean, it's fine.
• 34:23
If enough people vote on a video,
• 34:24
it should trigger it to get regardless.
• 34:26
  But like the opposite too,
• 34:27
like you can get your friends to vote.
• 34:29
  Good, good.
• 34:29
  Like that's why,
• 34:30
  that's why I think there
• 34:31
should be a name behind it.
• 34:32
So it's not just like, Oh, who voted?
• 34:33
  Yes.
• 34:34
  Your affiliate, your girlfriend,
• 34:35
  your best friend, you know,
• 34:38
  you start looking.
• 34:40
I think I'm just happy about
• 34:41
the baby step that we're back to.
• 34:43
  I think that's a great step forward.
• 34:44
  And I think,
• 34:45
I think those requirements are good.
• 34:49
I'm so excited to be able to
• 34:50
  review people's videos I'm
• 34:52
  curious what that advanced
• 34:54
  judges course will look
• 34:56
  like and if they're
• 34:57
  actually showing gray reps
• 35:00
and not just because I find
• 35:01
  the judges course normally
• 35:03
  like pretty simple and it's
• 35:05
  like so obvious what
• 35:07
  they're looking for in the
• 35:08
no rep but it's like it's
• 35:11
  those movers that are super
• 35:12
fast those are the ones that
• 35:15
people need to get a good
• 35:17
eye and there's a lot of
• 35:18
  judges out there that don't
• 35:19
have that eye so it's like
• 35:20
  that's the type of movement
• 35:22
that need to be in that
• 35:24
  advanced judges course I I
• 35:27
  sometimes give people too
• 35:28
  much credit but cross fat
• 35:29
  has reminded me that the
• 35:31
  internet did vote enough to
• 35:32
  name a boat boat mcboat
• 35:33
  face boaty mcboat face yeah
• 35:39
and that was done by the
• 35:40
internet so can I say one
• 35:43
more thing about the judges stuff
• 35:45
  Sure.
• 35:45
  Cause some people like also
• 35:47
don't go in an affiliate to
• 35:48
  do the workout.
• 35:49
  Right.
• 35:49
  And sometimes I'll say that
• 35:50
they had a judge and all of
• 35:51
  a sudden when you're
• 35:52
looking at the video and there's no judge,
• 35:54
  they're actually not in
• 35:54
  their affiliate like that.
• 35:56
When you have to post your video live,
• 35:58
like you're going to have to,
• 35:59
you're going to be able to
• 36:00
see whether they even had a
• 36:01
  judge and all that.
• 36:02
  Well,
• 36:03
  I think there's going to be a
• 36:04
requirement to be in the affiliate.
• 36:05
  The way I'm thinking,
• 36:06
how are there's a lot of lying.
• 36:08
There's a lot of people that are like, Oh,
• 36:10
  right.
• 36:10
  This person that judged me
• 36:12
  that has their course.
• 36:13
Like there's a lot of people,
• 36:14
but now that you are posting online,
• 36:16
people are going to be like,
• 36:17
that judge is not a level one.
• 36:19
You're not allowed to put that.
• 36:20
  That's not that person that
• 36:21
  you put on your judges
• 36:21
  course or your judges card.
• 36:23
  You're going to get that.
• 36:25
  People are not grabbing
• 36:26
actually an L one that has
• 36:28
  an advanced course.
• 36:29
  That,
• 36:30
  It's going to be problematic.
• 36:32
But now that your video is public,
• 36:34
  some people may know and
• 36:35
  will call people out.
• 36:38
How are you going to know
• 36:38
  where it was performed
• 36:40
unless you know a gym really well?
• 36:42
  People that don't like you
• 36:44
or something will find that out.
• 36:48
But if your judge is not registered,
• 36:53
they don't come up when you
• 36:54
  start typing them.
• 36:55
  Right.
• 36:55
  Yes.
• 36:55
  But that's the thing is
• 36:56
people will you see it all the time.
• 36:59
  People weren't even judged
• 37:00
  and they're or they weren't
• 37:01
  even at the affiliate and
• 37:03
  they don't want to post
• 37:03
their video live for people to judge it.
• 37:06
  So they're going to pretend
• 37:07
that they go to an affiliate.
• 37:09
They get the affiliate owner to say, yeah.
• 37:11
And then they put this judge.
• 37:12
  Yeah.
• 37:14
  And sometimes the affiliate
• 37:15
people don't even don't even verify.
• 37:17
And they're like, oh, that's a good score.
• 37:18
  That's good score.
• 37:19
  Sure.
• 37:19
  This member was here.
• 37:21
happens all the time oh you
• 37:23
  can put all the fail-safes
• 37:25
  in and people are still
• 37:25
  going to be deceptive
• 37:27
  you're never going to pull
• 37:28
all of that out um because
• 37:30
  it's a competition people
• 37:31
want to win yeah yeah I
• 37:35
  mean we're going to talk
• 37:36
  about other cheaters later
• 37:37
in the show um that have
• 37:40
  popped up this week so
• 37:41
popped up exactly exactly popped up um
• 37:50
So Julia Eifert says a lot
• 37:52
  of athletes are not going
• 37:52
  to compete this year.
• 37:53
  So what's the point?
• 37:54
It's going to be a lot of no
• 37:55
  names there in Texas.
• 37:57
One, we don't know if it's in Texas.
• 37:59
  I don't know.
• 38:00
  They have not announced a
• 38:01
  place for the games.
• 38:02
And there are a lot of
• 38:03
rumors saying it's not going to be Texas.
• 38:06
  Texas doesn't want to host
• 38:07
  the games or especially not.
• 38:08
  Maybe not Texas,
• 38:09
but Fort Worth does not want that.
• 38:13
  CrossFit to come back.
• 38:13
  There's no way they,
• 38:15
  they said yes with the
• 38:16
  anticipation that it was
• 38:17
going to be good for their city.
• 38:19
  They're not wanting any
• 38:21
  association with CrossFit.
• 38:23
  Two,
• 38:24
we don't know who's competing and not
• 38:25
  yet.
• 38:26
  Only one person I've seen
• 38:28
  definitively state they are not.
• 38:31
  And I've been combing
• 38:32
  Instagram the last few days
• 38:33
just to see if anybody is
• 38:34
  making that statement.
• 38:36
  And three,
• 38:38
it's going to be interesting to
• 38:39
  see what these off-season
• 38:40
  competitions do that want
• 38:42
to vie to be a sanctional.
• 38:44
And if it has to be tied to the open,
• 38:46
it takes away a lot of
• 38:47
  opportunities for people
• 38:48
who don't want to compete in the season.
• 38:50
  Mm-hmm.
• 38:51
  So it's going to there's a
• 38:52
  lot of dominoes to fall.
• 38:54
And I think we just have to
• 38:55
wait and see what those are
• 38:57
  before people make final decisions.
• 39:04
So this is the second time
• 39:09
Emma and Jack have been brought up.
• 39:10
  So, you know, I'm sorry,
• 39:12
I was trying to hide that one.
• 39:16
  I didn't know about this.
• 39:17
  So Julian also says,
• 39:20
  do you guys think since
• 39:21
  mammoth training is going away?
• 39:23
Does that mean Emma and Jack
• 39:24
  are done with CrossFit?
• 39:25
  I don't think so.
• 39:28
If you watch the show last week,
• 39:29
  we pulled up Emma's TikTok.
• 39:31
She is back to CrossFit training,
• 39:34
  and she is documenting that
• 39:35
through her TikTok and not on, like,
• 39:38
Instagram or other things right now.
• 39:41
But you can go to TikTok and
• 39:44
  see her account,
• 39:44
  and she is almost daily
• 39:46
  documenting her journey
• 39:49
  back into CrossFit.
• 39:50
  Mm-hmm.
• 39:52
And Josh, who was the Mammoth coach,
• 39:55
  wasn't doing it full time.
• 39:57
  He had another job.
• 39:58
And we don't know what the
• 39:59
reason was why he is no
• 40:02
longer going all in on this.
• 40:04
  So he could have family
• 40:05
stuff that he wants to attend with.
• 40:08
He could have other plans of
• 40:10
  growing something else.
• 40:12
  I don't think it has
• 40:12
anything to do with Emma and Jack.
• 40:15
  and their future in CrossFit.
• 40:16
  I think they're going to
• 40:19
  find someone else or
• 40:22
  whatever option that they'll do.
• 40:24
  Yep.
• 40:26
Vi says, do you think they'll join a camp?
• 40:27
  I don't know.
• 40:28
I have no idea these days.
• 40:31
  I could see Emma Lawson
• 40:32
  going to Proven with her
• 40:34
relationship a little bit with Tia.
• 40:35
When Tia was kind of guiding
• 40:37
her a little bit for a couple years,
• 40:40
  I could see that, but...
• 40:43
I could see her staying out of camp.
• 40:45
I think that would be best
• 40:47
for her is to stay away
• 40:48
  from any camps and
• 40:50
comparison and just train and have fun.
• 40:54
I know she's had offers from
• 40:56
multiple camps and has turned them down.
• 41:02
Mammoth never said they were a camp.
• 41:06
It was just a guy training
• 41:07
  Jack and Emma and they
• 41:08
  brought one more person on.
• 41:11
who who fit the dynamic of
• 41:14
who was there yeah and she
• 41:16
  just ended up following the
• 41:17
  program and was very very
• 41:18
  good right and then they
• 41:20
ended up living in a very
• 41:21
  similar location so just
• 41:23
  follow that is um erica
• 41:26
follow so just made it easy
• 41:28
to bring on board uh so
• 41:37
  There's a lot.
• 41:38
  So Lynn says, yeah,
• 41:40
  I hope competitions will
• 41:41
  change how they qualify
• 41:42
people because if they're using the open,
• 41:43
  they're limiting their
• 41:44
audience of people who want to compete.
• 41:48
  I disagree.
• 41:49
I mean, I think that's how it needs to be.
• 41:53
We need to see the effect.
• 41:53
  I don't think one
• 41:54
  competition at one time in
• 41:56
the year needs to dictate all the,
• 41:58
all the rest of the competitions.
• 42:00
  I disagree with that.
• 42:01
  Like if someone's injured at
• 42:02
that time of the year, if you're like,
• 42:04
  you need other
• 42:04
  opportunities to compete
• 42:06
and like the open cannot be
• 42:08
  the qualifier for every
• 42:09
  single thing down the road.
• 42:10
It can't, we cannot have one,
• 42:13
one weekend for the rest of
• 42:15
the season for every single thing.
• 42:17
  Like if you,
• 42:18
that was a good part about the
• 42:19
  Sanctuaries.
• 42:19
  You actually didn't even
• 42:20
  need to do the open.
• 42:22
Like I think Emily Rolfe had
• 42:23
  qualified through the
• 42:24
  Granite Games and hadn't
• 42:24
even done the open that year,
• 42:26
  if I remember.
• 42:27
I mean, you think, if you're,
• 42:32
I don't think that the one
• 42:34
  percent is going to be,
• 42:37
is going to hold somebody out.
• 42:39
And so like you have a big
• 42:40
pool of people able to continue on.
• 42:46
  I still don't think one
• 42:47
  competition needs to... It
• 42:50
is the epitome of what we do.
• 42:53
To let people not sign up
• 42:55
  for the CrossFit Open
• 42:57
  negates everything that we
• 42:59
  are here to do.
• 43:00
  We did it before.
• 43:01
And I think if the other
• 43:06
  circuits for people that
• 43:08
are not looking to do the
• 43:09
Open and do any part of the
• 43:11
  CrossFit Games season...
• 43:14
  That, I think,
• 43:15
is what Lynn is talking about.
• 43:16
  Sure.
• 43:17
Then you don't want to use the open.
• 43:20
  You have the Wadapalooza qualifier.
• 43:21
  You have a Rogue qualifier.
• 43:22
  You have other ways to
• 43:24
  qualify to that event.
• 43:26
  Wadapalooza will still be there.
• 43:28
  And Rogue is obviously going
• 43:29
  to be probably its own
• 43:30
thing the way it always is.
• 43:35
You have these ones that are
• 43:36
in the other part of the
• 43:37
  season that aren't going to
• 43:38
  be open dependent.
• 43:40
  And so, fine.
• 43:41
  There you go.
• 43:42
If those are the ones you want to do,
• 43:43
  then do them.
• 43:47
I'm kind of in between both of you.
• 43:49
So I see the point of you
• 43:56
have to decide if you want
• 43:57
  this sport to be an
• 43:58
  Olympic-style sport where
• 43:59
you have to go through this
• 44:01
  on certain dates,
• 44:01
and if you don't make those dates,
• 44:03
  you're just done?
• 44:04
Or do you want to be an
• 44:06
  every-year season where
• 44:08
  people have opportunity –
• 44:12
Like we talked about the Forty-Niners,
• 44:13
  the beginning of the show.
• 44:16
  Brock Purdy's hurt, can't play.
• 44:18
  But if they can still
• 44:19
  qualify for the playoffs,
• 44:21
he can come back in and
• 44:22
help them get to the Super Bowl.
• 44:25
So you have to decide if
• 44:27
  Gabby McGowan can
• 44:28
miraculously come back from her surgery,
• 44:31
and it just happens to be in April.
• 44:33
  Or Roman, for instance.
• 44:35
  Or Roman.
• 44:35
And should you be allowed to jump in –
• 44:39
in april and have a shot to
• 44:41
  make the games because you
• 44:43
  were still rehabbing your
• 44:44
  achilles in february and my
• 44:47
opinion is yes if you beat
• 44:50
  out those people in april
• 44:54
  why can't you earn the
• 44:55
right to go to a bigger
• 44:58
  event after that whether
• 44:59
  it's the games or whatever
• 45:00
  is the next event because
• 45:02
it's like there can be one
• 45:03
path that is that way and
• 45:06
  then there's another path
• 45:07
  where you don't need to
• 45:09
  Like,
• 45:09
I understand that people will be like,
• 45:11
  well,
• 45:12
then people won't do the open
• 45:13
because why would they do the open?
• 45:15
  Right.
• 45:16
  I get that.
• 45:17
But I'm saying if you want to grow,
• 45:19
  like if you're doing,
• 45:20
  and that's the thing with
• 45:21
the methodology and the sport, right?
• 45:25
  Sure.
• 45:25
  Well,
• 45:25
then we need to figure that out and
• 45:27
  separate them if that's
• 45:28
  where we're going.
• 45:28
But that's not the current case.
• 45:30
And if we want the open to matter,
• 45:32
  then it needs to matter.
• 45:34
  And now it does.
• 45:35
  Yes.
• 45:36
  Yes.
• 45:38
  Yeah,
• 45:39
  I think there's just dissenting
• 45:41
  opinions on whether the
• 45:42
  open should matter or not.
• 45:44
  It's not going to preclude
• 45:45
  you from doing everything.
• 45:47
  There's going to be plenty
• 45:48
  of events that you can
• 45:49
still sign up for if you
• 45:51
didn't do the open or are
• 45:53
  holding out on the open.
• 45:56
  I to me,
• 45:57
the open is is romanticized in my
• 45:59
head because it was one of
• 46:01
  my favorite moments when I
• 46:02
  finally had the courage to
• 46:03
  do it in twenty thirteen.
• 46:05
  Right.
• 46:05
And so do I want it to go away?
• 46:07
  No,
• 46:07
I don't want it to go away and I don't
• 46:09
want it to lose its value.
• 46:10
  But I'm telling you,
• 46:11
there is a lot of people in
• 46:12
  this community that are at
• 46:14
a point where it does not matter to them.
• 46:18
  And that's all I'm saying.
• 46:20
For me, I think it should matter,
• 46:21
and I do want it to matter.
• 46:24
  I just,
• 46:25
  I don't know if we're at a place where.
• 46:29
  So overarching with all this
• 46:30
  stuff we've talked about,
• 46:31
  like CrossFit comes out
• 46:32
  with all this stuff,
• 46:33
but we still haven't heard from anybody.
• 46:35
And we haven't even got into
• 46:37
  the post third-party
• 46:40
  investigation changes that have happened.
• 46:43
  And we still,
• 46:44
  the only public statement
• 46:45
that's been made is that an
• 46:46
  affiliate gathering.
• 46:49
  Right.
• 46:49
  which is a small percentage
• 46:50
  of the overall community.
• 46:52
There are a lot of people
• 46:53
that go into a gym every
• 46:54
day or follow the sport who
• 46:57
know nothing as to what's going on.
• 46:59
  And no statement has been
• 47:01
made by anybody other than, Hey,
• 47:03
  we're making these changes.
• 47:05
  Here's a press release.
• 47:09
We don't, we, you can't ask questions.
• 47:11
  You can't,
• 47:12
you can't get in more in depth
• 47:14
information about any of this stuff.
• 47:16
  It's just here.
• 47:18
  And,
• 47:20
  I guess I shouldn't be
• 47:21
surprised that this is – I
• 47:27
  keep going back and forth
• 47:28
in my head whether this is
• 47:29
  strategic or it's like
• 47:33
being hushed by lawyers or what.
• 47:36
But it just seems like why
• 47:38
couldn't you come out and say –
• 47:41
  Either A,
• 47:41
this is a summary of what the
• 47:44
  findings were,
• 47:45
and this is why we're doing this.
• 47:47
  Or, hey,
• 47:48
our attorneys have said we can't
• 47:49
  really make statements
• 47:50
  about the third party
• 47:52
  investigation at this time.
• 47:54
  But these are changes we're
• 47:55
  making for the future.
• 47:56
  Right.
• 47:57
So I feel like it probably isn't a legal.
• 48:00
  It is a legal thing.
• 48:02
And I wish that that's how
• 48:03
  they would have presented that.
• 48:08
  but just throwing this out
• 48:09
  there with no statement
• 48:12
  really falls freaking flat.
• 48:15
  Yeah.
• 48:15
  And I think like when
• 48:17
  they're talking about like,
• 48:18
we're going to increase this safety,
• 48:20
  but like,
• 48:20
we don't even know what was in
• 48:21
  place to begin.
• 48:22
Like, we don't know what has changed.
• 48:24
Like, what did they even have before?
• 48:26
Like, is it a small anchors big?
• 48:27
  Like,
• 48:28
we don't even know how much money
• 48:29
that they have in safety before.
• 48:31
What are they spending now on safety?
• 48:33
  Like, there's no comparison.
• 48:34
  It's just kind of,
• 48:35
You're not going to get any
• 48:36
  of that information, though.
• 48:36
  We're not getting any
• 48:37
  information on what was in
• 48:39
  place prior and what are
• 48:40
the specific changes from where was at.
• 48:44
  If they do that,
• 48:45
  they are admitting that
• 48:46
  they didn't have enough
• 48:48
  safety precautions and it
• 48:49
  would be completely used
• 48:51
against them by the Juket family.
• 48:54
  Yes.
• 48:55
  You cannot put anything out
• 48:56
  like that that says...
• 48:58
  Yep,
• 48:59
we were short here or this is where we
• 49:00
  were.
• 49:01
We're going to go to here.
• 49:01
Well, why are you going to here?
• 49:02
  Well,
• 49:03
because this wasn't enough like that
• 49:04
could all be used against them.
• 49:06
They need to just say they
• 49:07
  can't come out with
• 49:07
anything for legal reasons right now.
• 49:10
And, you know, when things settle,
• 49:13
  then hopefully we can come
• 49:14
  out with more information.
• 49:15
They just need to be a
• 49:16
  little bit more transparent,
• 49:19
like they said, of their in transparency.
• 49:26
  But yeah,
• 49:27
I think Don making that promise
• 49:28
  was foolish to begin with.
• 49:30
  I agree.
• 49:32
  Yeah.
• 49:32
  You can't say you're going
• 49:32
  to be transparent about the
• 49:33
  whole process and stuff.
• 49:34
And then you come out with
• 49:35
  that letter and hide.
• 49:37
  You don't even, you hide,
• 49:39
  you hide behind the letter
• 49:40
because you're not even going forward,
• 49:41
forward facing and facing any questions,
• 49:44
  answering anything about
• 49:46
  what you just posted.
• 49:47
  There's nothing that States
• 49:50
  anything really.
• 49:51
  There's a lot of repetition
• 49:52
  within the letter as well.
• 49:53
  I, from my opinion.
• 49:55
  Right.
• 49:57
  Yeah.
• 49:58
  Well,
• 49:58
I want to make sure we have time for
• 49:59
  the hall of fame.
• 50:00
  So I'm going to,
• 50:01
a lot of people have talked
• 50:02
  about the changes.
• 50:04
Um, and just a brief summary of, um,
• 50:08
  what the changes were,
• 50:09
  are they're creating a new
• 50:10
  position that reports to
• 50:12
  Don and Dave that their
• 50:14
  responsibility will be the
• 50:16
  safety of the CrossFit games.
• 50:20
Um, to me, that was the biggest F you.
• 50:24
  Like you start your letter.
• 50:26
Sorry, I don't, but like it was,
• 50:27
  it was just like,
• 50:28
we are going to report the
• 50:30
  safety to Dave Castro.
• 50:33
Like when you look at what
• 50:34
the demands were of the PFA and that's,
• 50:37
that's the first thing that you, that you,
• 50:38
that's the first name that you drop.
• 50:41
Like that is the biggest F
• 50:44
you to the athletes that are.
• 50:47
And a close second is that
• 50:48
they created an athlete council that,
• 50:52
  in competition with exactly
• 50:53
  what they had just done.
• 50:57
  Yep.
• 50:59
So they said that the new
• 51:02
person's reporting to Dave and Don,
• 51:04
that Dave is still the head
• 51:05
  of CrossFit sport,
• 51:07
  that the new athlete
• 51:09
  council will be there to
• 51:12
  help guide them in safety
• 51:13
measures and all of that stuff.
• 51:15
The same thing that the PFA
• 51:17
  has promised to do.
• 51:18
And now, like you know darn well,
• 51:20
Lex was a member of that a while ago,
• 51:23
  and they weren't used like
• 51:26
  they should have been.
• 51:28
  No,
• 51:28
they had meetings and stuff and like
• 51:30
  they would talk about like
• 51:32
  good things and interesting
• 51:33
  things to put into place.
• 51:35
It just ended up stopping right away.
• 51:37
Like it just didn't last very long.
• 51:39
It was like the idea was there,
• 51:40
  but the execution on some
• 51:42
of the promises just weren't there.
• 51:44
  And that's a theme with
• 51:45
  CrossFit is there's a lot
• 51:46
  of great ideas and then
• 51:47
  there's no follow through.
• 51:49
  You know,
• 51:49
we're going to do the service open.
• 51:51
  Boom.
• 51:51
  It stops.
• 51:52
It's like, Oh, we've got to bring it back.
• 51:53
  Like, Oh,
• 51:53
we're going to do this competition.
• 51:55
We're going to do the, like,
• 51:55
  there's a lot of great
• 51:57
  ideas within the space,
• 51:58
but then there's just a lack of execution,
• 52:00
a lack of consistency within our sport,
• 52:02
within things that we want to implement.
• 52:05
And the changes just make it
• 52:08
that there's such a lack of
• 52:09
  trust within the organization.
• 52:13
  Like there's just,
• 52:13
  you don't know what you're
• 52:14
  getting from year to year.
• 52:16
  There's like,
• 52:18
  constant changes at the top.
• 52:21
And so, so we have those two things,
• 52:24
  those three things.
• 52:25
  We have the safety council
• 52:27
  now that's being formed.
• 52:28
  That's a group of, um,
• 52:32
  first responders and athletes, uh,
• 52:34
to go over safety protocols, uh,
• 52:37
  that an ambulance and an
• 52:38
  EMT staff will now be
• 52:39
  present for all events at
• 52:42
  the CrossFit games.
• 52:43
  Um,
• 52:45
And I think that's pretty much everything.
• 52:48
Again, a lot of people have gone over it.
• 52:50
We did on Thursday in the round table,
• 52:52
if you want to go back and
• 52:53
  check that out.
• 52:54
  But those structures were made.
• 52:56
  But the biggest thing was
• 52:57
  through the new season
• 52:59
  structure and this release,
• 53:01
  what I realized was that
• 53:03
  CrossFit just unloaded all
• 53:04
  the liability they had for
• 53:06
  the entire CrossFit game
• 53:07
  season onto the affiliates
• 53:10
  and these affiliates
• 53:11
  in-person competitions to
• 53:13
  get people to the games
• 53:14
  until you get to the
• 53:15
  crossfit games that is the
• 53:17
  only place that they're
• 53:18
  going to be liable for
• 53:19
  anything injury safety wise
• 53:26
yep I mean they can still
• 53:28
  program stupid things but
• 53:31
  then with with the
• 53:32
  affiliate that don't have
• 53:33
  the infrastructure to keep
• 53:35
  certain athletes
• 53:37
safe like they could in a
• 53:40
  more controlled environment
• 53:41
I guess yeah but so that's
• 53:45
all that um I'm just I'm
• 53:48
kind of curious to see if
• 53:50
  this one percent like how
• 53:51
  many people make it like
• 53:53
  will there be little like
• 53:55
local like a one big town
• 54:00
  crossfit gym bring like
• 54:02
  eight different gyms
• 54:03
  together I mean because you
• 54:05
  realistically there's
• 54:06
  probably gonna be like
• 54:08
  couple people out of you
• 54:10
know a bunch of gyms in an
• 54:12
area so like do they get
• 54:13
  together and try to pull
• 54:14
like a you know like the
• 54:17
  saban group of semi-finals
• 54:19
  last year and make these
• 54:19
  like little this weekend
• 54:21
pop up like huge I think it
• 54:23
could be sweet if you have
• 54:25
  these that weekend if you
• 54:27
have a bunch of gyms that
• 54:28
  like are willing to stand
• 54:29
up and bring a big a big
• 54:32
  group of people in
• 54:33
  make it a little competition
• 54:35
and gym I mean that's how
• 54:36
  you're gonna get your best
• 54:37
effort too I think it could
• 54:40
be sweet but I think it's
• 54:41
  putting a lot on affiliate
• 54:42
owners I was just about to
• 54:43
say that yes but for an
• 54:46
  affiliate like like
• 54:48
  honestly like I'm trying to
• 54:49
  think about around me how
• 54:51
  how many people this is
• 54:52
going to are going to be
• 54:53
  able to qualify and it's
• 54:56
not a lot and so like
• 54:58
I think the couple of us
• 55:00
  that might make it probably
• 55:01
do need to get together and
• 55:02
  go to one gym.
• 55:02
  So it's one,
• 55:03
it's a burden on one person
• 55:05
  and it's probably one gym
• 55:06
that was going to do a lot anyway.
• 55:11
Like, like you think about it,
• 55:12
like mayhem is going to do
• 55:13
  is going to cater to
• 55:14
  whatever they need to anyway.
• 55:15
  So mayhem will probably
• 55:16
become a Mecca that weekend for a bunch.
• 55:19
  I mean,
• 55:19
I bet you a lot of people travel to
• 55:21
  mayhem to do it there
• 55:22
  because it will be done.
• 55:23
  Right.
• 55:24
  Um, I, I,
• 55:31
  I actually think this is
• 55:32
unburdening a lot of affiliate owners,
• 55:35
  quite honestly.
• 55:36
  Quarterfinals was a burden.
• 55:39
And you are unburdening a lot.
• 55:42
And so one gym needs to step
• 55:44
up and bring in a handful
• 55:45
of athletes and make a weekend out of it.
• 55:47
And it could be like so
• 55:48
  exciting for the members.
• 55:50
Like you're, you are now have like,
• 55:52
I may have to go to a gym.
• 55:54
  Forty miles from me,
• 55:55
but hopefully there's two other people.
• 55:57
And I may like get some new
• 55:58
  fans out of this.
• 55:59
  Like that gym might like
• 56:01
  create a little local
• 56:02
  hometown feel that people
• 56:03
  show up that weekend and
• 56:04
cheer for the four of us
• 56:05
  that are competing.
• 56:09
  Yeah,
• 56:10
I think that's discussions for the
• 56:12
  next few weeks.
• 56:13
  Of course, I've said this,
• 56:15
that I would try to copy
• 56:18
what Savan did and do a
• 56:21
  live stream of the
• 56:22
  semifinals to give people
• 56:26
  some exposure because the
• 56:27
  athlete's losing that
• 56:28
  exposure from semifinals.
• 56:31
where they might be able to
• 56:32
get a sponsor or something like that.
• 56:34
But I think we can discuss
• 56:37
  that in the future weeks.
• 56:39
Right now, I just think, like,
• 56:41
  not much has been said.
• 56:42
There's two press releases that came out,
• 56:45
  very vague,
• 56:46
and nobody to ask questions of.
• 56:49
  And the chat's just
• 56:50
  basically all saying the
• 56:51
  trust for HQ is gone.
• 56:54
  And that was waning anyway.
• 56:56
In the sports side, it's been gone for,
• 56:59
  I think,
• 57:01
  while and then what happened
• 57:05
at this past game was like
• 57:07
  even more like that was
• 57:08
like the the end of the
• 57:11
trust for yeah a lot and
• 57:15
denise yes I do know where
• 57:17
  the water comes from and
• 57:19
how it gets into my house
• 57:19
  because it comes from a
• 57:20
hole in my ground I don't
• 57:22
have to trust the city and
• 57:24
  I have a well so I don't
• 57:26
  nobody's cleaning it up for
• 57:27
me before it gets into my house
• 57:31
So in the next three minutes,
• 57:32
  let's go over reps ahead
• 57:33
  five that happened.
• 57:35
I thought it was the best
• 57:35
version of reps ahead so far.
• 57:38
  It was a tournament style.
• 57:41
where on Saturday there were four matches.
• 57:45
  On the men's side,
• 57:46
  there was a Tudor Magda
• 57:47
  versus Cole Grishaber.
• 57:50
  And then there was James
• 57:52
  Sprague versus Malachi Bennett.
• 57:54
  And they were seeded based
• 57:55
  on performance throughout the year.
• 57:58
And then on the women's side,
• 57:59
it was Trista Smith versus Zoe Warren.
• 58:02
And then Ariel Lowen versus Rachel Noel.
• 58:06
  The winners of those matches
• 58:07
on that day won two thousand dollars.
• 58:13
And it was bar muscle ups,
• 58:15
burpee box overs and clean and jerks.
• 58:21
  Seven, five, seven, six, five.
• 58:23
  Yes.
• 58:24
  Seven, six, five.
• 58:27
And Tudor came out like a
• 58:29
house on fire and had a
• 58:30
  total meltdown where Cole
• 58:32
was then able to overtake him,
• 58:34
which I thought was really exciting.
• 58:35
  Yeah, it was.
• 58:37
Tudor was going for the early knockout.
• 58:39
  I know.
• 58:40
And then, but he just couldn't.
• 58:42
  And that's what makes these
• 58:44
  exciting when this, that happens.
• 58:46
  If someone was like delusional,
• 58:48
like it was, it got bad.
• 58:50
  I was like, damn.
• 58:53
I know his legs were given out.
• 58:54
  He went in a hole.
• 58:57
  Yep.
• 58:58
  Yeah.
• 58:59
  James Sprague and Malachi Bennett.
• 59:01
  It was just James Sprague
• 59:02
  had better bar muscle ups
• 59:05
and was able to string them
• 59:06
  together faster and
• 59:08
  eventually just overtook
• 59:09
  him for the knockout.
• 59:12
And then on the women's side,
• 59:13
  Trista Smith and Zoe Warren
• 59:14
  had a really good battle.
• 59:16
And then Trista saw an opening.
• 59:18
  And actually,
• 59:19
you thought Zoe was going to get her.
• 59:21
  And somehow Trista had like
• 59:23
  a little second wind and
• 59:26
was able to come back and beat her.
• 59:28
I thought that was a great match to watch.
• 59:30
  Because I thought Trista or
• 59:31
  Zoe had the win.
• 59:33
And she ended up dying worse
• 59:36
  than Trista did earlier.
• 59:38
And Trista was able to come
• 59:39
  back and get the win.
• 59:41
  Yeah.
• 59:41
I was messaging Lex at that
• 59:43
  last night and we were
• 59:44
  watching and I was after
• 59:47
  the third round because
• 59:48
  Trista had the early lead
• 59:50
  in the first two rounds.
• 59:51
And then she kind of just
• 59:52
  looked like she was just
• 59:53
fading in that third round and really,
• 59:55
  really struggling.
• 59:56
  And then you had the,
• 59:57
the lead change all of a
• 59:58
  sudden at the flip flop
• 1:00:00
  fully in that third round.
• 1:00:01
And I'm like, Oh, Trista is done here.
• 1:00:03
  She's basically, it's like tutor.
• 1:00:05
And then like out of nowhere, like,
• 1:00:08
  Zoe just like died.
• 1:00:10
And I was like, Oh my God,
• 1:00:11
what is happening in this workout?
• 1:00:12
  Oh, to be nineteen again.
• 1:00:15
  And then and then Ariel
• 1:00:16
  Lowen took on Rachel Noel
• 1:00:17
and it really was not a match.
• 1:00:20
Ariel hit the gas in the second round.
• 1:00:22
  And Ariel said she was
• 1:00:23
really just going at a pace
• 1:00:24
  that like eighty percent.
• 1:00:26
  And then she saw the
• 1:00:27
  opportunity and kicked it
• 1:00:29
  up to get the knockout.
• 1:00:31
So then that moved to a
• 1:00:32
  championship round today of
• 1:00:35
  James Sprague versus Cole Greasaber.
• 1:00:37
That one ended in the first round.
• 1:00:41
  Um,
• 1:00:41
Cole's chest of our pull-ups went away
• 1:00:44
and James took that over pretty quick.
• 1:00:46
  And then Ariel versus Trista
• 1:00:48
  was a second round knockout.
• 1:00:50
  It was rep for rep.
• 1:00:53
I know in the first round,
• 1:00:55
  they look like they were
• 1:00:56
  doing synchro team.
• 1:00:57
  It did.
• 1:00:58
  It was good.
• 1:01:00
And then in the second round, uh,
• 1:01:02
  Uh,
• 1:01:02
Trista missed a snatch and that was all,
• 1:01:06
  that's all Ariel needed was
• 1:01:08
  to get off the barbell
• 1:01:08
first and get to the chest
• 1:01:10
of bar and she just ripped through it.
• 1:01:12
  Yeah.
• 1:01:14
  I actually think it's too
• 1:01:16
  bad Tudor lost yesterday
• 1:01:17
  because Tudor was looking
• 1:01:20
  fast in this workout.
• 1:01:21
  Oh, God.
• 1:01:22
If he would have had to go another round,
• 1:01:23
  though,
• 1:01:23
it would have been the same thing
• 1:01:24
  as yesterday.
• 1:01:25
But I think his cycle speed
• 1:01:27
is just like it looked really fast.
• 1:01:31
  Yeah, because he was sprinting.
• 1:01:33
  Yeah.
• 1:01:36
  He was banking on winning.
• 1:01:38
He was going to be in
• 1:01:39
trouble again if he didn't win.
• 1:01:41
  Just so people knew,
• 1:01:42
  the losers from yesterday
• 1:01:44
  moved forward to today and
• 1:01:45
got to compete for a thousand dollars.
• 1:01:47
  Yeah.
• 1:01:48
So Tudor got to come back
• 1:01:49
and he took on Malachi and
• 1:01:51
he went balls to the wall again,
• 1:01:54
but he was able to hold on
• 1:01:55
long enough to get the knockout.
• 1:01:57
Zoe was replaced by Kelly Stone.
• 1:01:59
  Yeah.
• 1:02:01
And she took on Rachel Noel and Rachel...
• 1:02:04
  Kelly did the competition
• 1:02:05
all weekend and had no legs left,
• 1:02:07
  and it was obvious pretty
• 1:02:08
quick on the box jump overs.
• 1:02:11
And so Rachel Noel and Tudor
• 1:02:13
  got a grand each.
• 1:02:15
  And then James and Ariel
• 1:02:16
winning overall got five grand each,
• 1:02:19
plus the two grand from yesterday.
• 1:02:20
That didn't make sense to me.
• 1:02:22
So they won seven thousand dollars.
• 1:02:24
She's like, I want I want to do one.
• 1:02:28
  I know.
• 1:02:30
  Right.
• 1:02:30
  And then one hundred dollars
• 1:02:32
for every time someone got a knockout.
• 1:02:34
  Yeah.
• 1:02:35
  So they actually won seventy
• 1:02:36
  one hundred dollars.
• 1:02:38
Why don't they just make the
• 1:02:40
  final day the price purse?
• 1:02:43
  I don't understand.
• 1:02:45
I think it was cool this way
• 1:02:46
  because by winning Saturday,
• 1:02:48
  you got a prize,
• 1:02:50
and then you get to go
• 1:02:51
  fight for a bigger prize.
• 1:02:56
So the losers of today still
• 1:02:58
got the two grand they won
• 1:02:59
  yesterday because they
• 1:03:00
  didn't get anything today.
• 1:03:02
Do they get their trip paid for, too?
• 1:03:03
  They do.
• 1:03:04
  Damn.
• 1:03:06
That's like rogue stuff right there.
• 1:03:09
  Yeah.
• 1:03:10
  Pretty sweet.
• 1:03:11
  Yeah, that's some good treatment.
• 1:03:13
  And I was telling Jamie
• 1:03:15
before we got on the air,
• 1:03:17
Julie even watched this with me.
• 1:03:18
And she does not watch CrossFit.
• 1:03:21
So this was short enough and
• 1:03:24
  exciting enough that she watched.
• 1:03:27
And so maybe they do have something.
• 1:03:29
  And I like the tournament
• 1:03:30
  better than the one-off.
• 1:03:33
  Yep.
• 1:03:34
  Yeah, I did too.
• 1:03:35
  Mm-hmm.
• 1:03:39
I like yesterday's workout better, though.
• 1:03:42
  I would have much rather
• 1:03:42
  done yesterday's workout.
• 1:03:45
  Agree.
• 1:03:46
  But visually, too, though,
• 1:03:48
  I thought the chest-to-bar
• 1:03:50
  is such a fast movement.
• 1:03:51
  Yeah.
• 1:03:51
  Like, it just,
• 1:03:53
  the punches were fast today.
• 1:03:54
But, I mean, maybe that's what we wanted,
• 1:03:55
  though.
• 1:03:56
We don't need them to go to
• 1:03:58
  the last round.
• 1:04:00
  I thought the broadcast
• 1:04:01
  dynamic of Brian Friend
• 1:04:02
  with Andrew Hiller was interesting,
• 1:04:05
  to say the least.
• 1:04:08
But I think they pulled it off.
• 1:04:13
  And it was entertaining.
• 1:04:14
  It was good.
• 1:04:16
  They did good.
• 1:04:17
  And I really love the
• 1:04:19
  post-interviews of each one.
• 1:04:22
  Some of them were really
• 1:04:23
breathing heavy when they were doing them,
• 1:04:25
but I thought they were done really well.
• 1:04:29
A couple other quick news items.
• 1:04:31
Katrin may or may not be retiring.
• 1:04:34
  There was a leak from
• 1:04:35
  Talking Elite Fitness.
• 1:04:36
And I said this on Thursday
• 1:04:37
  on the Roundtable.
• 1:04:38
When we used to edit our podcast,
• 1:04:40
I was afraid of those things happening.
• 1:04:43
So I feel so bad for Talking
• 1:04:45
  Elite Fitness.
• 1:04:46
I wish people didn't post that.
• 1:04:49
To me, if you see a leak like that,
• 1:04:51
  you can talk about it
• 1:04:52
  within your little circle
• 1:04:53
  that you saw it.
• 1:04:54
To me, it's like, let that person know.
• 1:04:58
break that news I don't know
• 1:05:01
  yeah she's obviously told a
• 1:05:02
lot of people so yeah but
• 1:05:03
  still like I think all
• 1:05:04
  three of them knew in
• 1:05:06
  different from different
• 1:05:07
  sources so it's it's out
• 1:05:08
  there all over the place
• 1:05:09
yeah but I think if there's
• 1:05:10
  a difference between the
• 1:05:12
  like showing it to the
• 1:05:13
public like fully and I get
• 1:05:15
  that some people would have
• 1:05:16
seen it but I don't know
• 1:05:19
  yeah people all want credit
• 1:05:22
for posting the first post of that but
• 1:05:28
uh we also have some drug
• 1:05:29
  suspension news uh sean
• 1:05:31
  ramirez received the first
• 1:05:32
ever uh lifetime ban yes as
• 1:05:39
it should be uh and then
• 1:05:41
  cristiano domeshino placed
• 1:05:45
  fourth in the men's forty
• 1:05:46
  five to forty nine age
• 1:05:47
  group also tested positive
• 1:05:48
  for performance enhancing
• 1:05:49
drugs uh and he did not
• 1:05:51
appeal so he is serving a
• 1:05:53
four-year suspension for his first uh ban
• 1:05:57
  Gabby McGowan had successful
• 1:05:59
  surgery on her Achilles.
• 1:06:01
  Mia Hesketh announced a pregnancy.
• 1:06:04
And the PFA elected a new athlete board.
• 1:06:08
  And that's been talked about
• 1:06:08
a lot if you want to go check it out.
• 1:06:10
It's an interesting cast of characters.
• 1:06:15
  And I think that's good.
• 1:06:16
I think that it seems to be
• 1:06:18
  people from different
• 1:06:19
  backgrounds and different styles.
• 1:06:23
  And I think that's good.
• 1:06:24
The more diversity you have on that,
• 1:06:26
  the better.
• 1:06:29
So we are going to now do
• 1:06:32
the Clydesdale Media Hall of Fame.
• 1:06:35
  We are creating the CrossFit
• 1:06:36
  Games Hall of Fame.
• 1:06:40
And what I'm going to do is
• 1:06:43
I'm first going to share my screen here.
• 1:06:47
So I have this little canva here.
• 1:06:50
And what we have is twenty
• 1:06:51
  two nominees for the
• 1:06:53
  CrossFit Hall of Fame.
• 1:06:56
  In the first year,
• 1:06:57
  four members are elected.
• 1:06:59
  In the second year,
• 1:07:00
  three members will be elected,
• 1:07:03
  and everybody else who's
• 1:07:04
  not elected in the first
• 1:07:05
  year or the second year
• 1:07:06
  will have to wait for
• 1:07:07
  another year to go through
• 1:07:09
  the nomination process.
• 1:07:12
So what I'm going to do is I
• 1:07:13
have a bunch of names in
• 1:07:14
white in the white banner above.
• 1:07:17
I'm going to pull one down
• 1:07:18
and put it into the black
• 1:07:19
  so you can see it.
• 1:07:20
  And then Carolyn and Jamie
• 1:07:23
will have to agree on which
• 1:07:25
  bucket to put it in.
• 1:07:27
Are they a first ballot Hall of Fame,
• 1:07:28
  second ballot,
• 1:07:29
or they need to wait until next year?
• 1:07:32
And this is not just athletes.
• 1:07:34
  It is media members and
• 1:07:37
  CrossFit HQ because the
• 1:07:38
Hall of Fames have those as well.
• 1:07:42
  So are we ready?
• 1:07:43
  I'm ready.
• 1:07:44
  First name, Sean Woodland.
• 1:07:49
I have wait till next time.
• 1:07:51
  Yeah, I'll agree.
• 1:07:54
  And I love Sean.
• 1:07:55
  I do too.
• 1:07:56
I just, this is, this is a tough list.
• 1:08:00
  I mean,
• 1:08:00
he would be first ballot if it was
• 1:08:02
  in his field of media.
• 1:08:05
  Like that's for sure.
• 1:08:10
uh let's do this one rich
• 1:08:12
  froning first ballot
• 1:08:15
  correct the only correct
• 1:08:18
  the only correct answer
• 1:08:19
  okay I haven't even looked
• 1:08:25
at all the names dan bailey
• 1:08:31
wait till next time yep dan bailey
• 1:08:40
  Danny Broflex.
• 1:08:44
  Uh-oh.
• 1:08:45
  Uh-oh, uh-oh.
• 1:08:47
  All right, clicked and set.
• 1:08:48
  Matt Chan.
• 1:08:50
  Wait till next time.
• 1:08:51
  Yep.
• 1:08:51
  Podium finisher and everything?
• 1:08:53
  Yeah.
• 1:08:55
  Titan Games winner?
• 1:08:57
  Yeah.
• 1:08:57
  Here.
• 1:09:04
  Matt Frazier.
• 1:09:08
  First ballot.
• 1:09:09
  Yep.
• 1:09:13
Lynn says Dan Bailey was the
• 1:09:15
prettiest CrossFitter for a long time.
• 1:09:17
  Wait, I protest.
• 1:09:20
  Fair protest, Lynn.
• 1:09:23
I think Rich is the most
• 1:09:24
  influential CrossFitter of all time,
• 1:09:27
and Matt is the best male
• 1:09:29
  athlete of all time.
• 1:09:31
Dan was Mr. Open before he
• 1:09:33
  was Mr. Broflex.
• 1:09:34
  That's true.
• 1:09:37
  Okay.
• 1:09:38
Let's see what else we have up here.
• 1:09:41
  Noah Olson.
• 1:09:43
I have, I have them waiting until next.
• 1:09:45
  Yep.
• 1:09:46
  Same.
• 1:09:46
  Okay.
• 1:09:48
  What?
• 1:09:51
You have only seven people we can pick.
• 1:09:53
  So what?
• 1:09:54
Well, I don't even remember the whole list,
• 1:09:57
so we can also move it after.
• 1:10:01
  Oh, you think?
• 1:10:02
  Oh, maybe.
• 1:10:03
  Okay.
• 1:10:07
  James Fitzgerald.
• 1:10:11
I have them waiting till next personally.
• 1:10:13
  CrossFit games champion.
• 1:10:15
  Yep.
• 1:10:15
  Waiting till next second ballot.
• 1:10:18
  All right.
• 1:10:21
You guys have to come to an agreement.
• 1:10:23
  Can you put them like
• 1:10:24
between second and wait till next till we,
• 1:10:28
  till we narrow down.
• 1:10:30
  He's the first champ.
• 1:10:35
  I just think there's people
• 1:10:36
more influential than him on the sport.
• 1:10:39
mean I get that he did the
• 1:10:40
  opt I just don't think I
• 1:10:42
also think he also like who
• 1:10:47
  is james exactly that's the
• 1:10:49
  other thing there are
• 1:10:50
  people far more influential
• 1:10:53
  in the affiliate side like
• 1:10:57
so he is the first ever
• 1:10:58
  crossfit games champion
• 1:11:00
james and he created opex yes
• 1:11:04
  that actually competed
• 1:11:05
  against CrossFit for a good
• 1:11:07
  number of years.
• 1:11:08
  Right.
• 1:11:08
  And now his athletes are
• 1:11:10
  actually participants in
• 1:11:12
  the CrossFit Games,
• 1:11:13
and he is a coach and
• 1:11:14
  trainer up in Canada.
• 1:11:21
  Okay.
• 1:11:22
So what I'll do right now is
• 1:11:23
I'm going to just put him
• 1:11:25
  right there for now.
• 1:11:29
  Yeah,
• 1:11:29
I don't even know all the names coming up,
• 1:11:31
  but I just feel like
• 1:11:33
  I mean, he's influential.
• 1:11:35
  Josh Everett.
• 1:11:37
  Next time.
• 1:11:38
  Next time.
• 1:11:41
I'm going to it's going to
• 1:11:43
be a murky mess over here.
• 1:11:47
  Jason Kalipa.
• 1:11:49
So I have him in first ballot.
• 1:11:58
  think yeah I'm between first
• 1:11:59
  and second right now I
• 1:12:01
  don't know what's coming up
• 1:12:02
let's we can put them in
• 1:12:03
  first I guess okay all
• 1:12:06
right you want to put them
• 1:12:06
on the line yes just put
• 1:12:09
them in first we can move
• 1:12:10
after if we feel okay ben
• 1:12:14
  smith I personally have
• 1:12:21
been in my in my second ballot so
• 1:12:27
  You have Jason above Ben?
• 1:12:30
  Correct.
• 1:12:35
I'm willing to switch those two.
• 1:12:37
I think Jason won the games
• 1:12:38
that had the least amount of workouts,
• 1:12:41
  right?
• 1:12:43
  Did he have... There was
• 1:12:48
only three workouts when Jason won.
• 1:12:50
  To me,
• 1:12:51
like I'm willing to switch those two.
• 1:12:52
  Those are the okay.
• 1:12:54
Let's let's switch Ben and Jace.
• 1:12:56
Let's put Jason in second right now.
• 1:12:58
And I guess we can keep up to four.
• 1:13:02
So I have someone else that
• 1:13:05
I think needs to go in the hall of fame.
• 1:13:08
  You may disagree.
• 1:13:12
  Okay.
• 1:13:16
  Tommy Hackenbrook.
• 1:13:18
  Wait.
• 1:13:19
  team legend yeah wait till
• 1:13:22
  next time sorry buddy stone
• 1:13:25
  cold yeah what you're gonna
• 1:13:27
  have people over here in
• 1:13:27
the chat say tommy who I
• 1:13:30
like uh wait till next time
• 1:13:34
yeah okay here we go pat
• 1:13:40
  barber wait till next time
• 1:13:43
  wait till next time
• 1:13:47
  I dug deep for these.
• 1:13:49
  I know.
• 1:13:49
  You have some good ones.
• 1:13:50
  I like them.
• 1:13:51
  Miko Salo.
• 1:13:52
Wait until next time for me.
• 1:13:53
Oh, not like a first or second.
• 1:13:57
  Nope.
• 1:13:58
  Not with,
• 1:13:59
there's just too many names to pick.
• 1:14:02
Ooh, I don't know about that.
• 1:14:05
  Now, tell me this.
• 1:14:07
Would you pick Miko over James?
• 1:14:09
I think he won one of the
• 1:14:11
  toughest games there ever was.
• 1:14:15
  still think they both need
• 1:14:16
  to wait personally I think
• 1:14:17
  there's other people more
• 1:14:18
  influential firsts in the
• 1:14:22
chat miko is not first not
• 1:14:25
even no I have I had miko
• 1:14:27
in first in my mind with
• 1:14:28
  what he did for europe
• 1:14:29
  winning in my opinion one
• 1:14:30
  of the toughest games there
• 1:14:33
  are still so many people
• 1:14:34
who don't know who miko is
• 1:14:36
  yeah that's just because
• 1:14:37
  they're newer to the sport
• 1:14:41
  It's like people that don't
• 1:14:42
  know who Kristen Clever was.
• 1:14:44
  Agree.
• 1:14:45
  And I wouldn't ever pick
• 1:14:46
Kristen to be on a Hall of
• 1:14:47
  Fame right now.
• 1:14:49
She may be somebody who waits and gets in,
• 1:14:52
  but there are people who...
• 1:14:55
  What?
• 1:14:55
  Sorry.
• 1:14:55
  Next week,
• 1:14:56
we're going to have fun with the women,
• 1:14:57
  apparently.
• 1:14:58
  I'm sorry.
• 1:14:58
  I'm trying to pick people
• 1:14:59
who are still pushing the affiliate model,
• 1:15:03
  still pushing people into CrossFit,
• 1:15:05
  still active.
• 1:15:06
  Nico Triangle.
• 1:15:07
  I know.
• 1:15:08
And I just didn't meet him.
• 1:15:10
  But, like, Rich,
• 1:15:11
  there's a reason you have
• 1:15:11
  Rich on here is because
• 1:15:13
he's still well-known in the space.
• 1:15:16
  No, he won four times.
• 1:15:21
  Yes,
• 1:15:21
but Rich still is well-known in the space,
• 1:15:24
and most people say he has
• 1:15:26
done the most for the sport of CrossFit.
• 1:15:27
  Well, a hundred percent.
• 1:15:29
Can you say the same for Mikko?
• 1:15:32
In Europe, he did a lot.
• 1:15:34
  Yeah.
• 1:15:36
  He literally made European
• 1:15:41
  athletes introduce him.
• 1:15:43
  I'd rather boot Kalipa then
• 1:15:44
  and put Mikko there.
• 1:15:47
  Really?
• 1:15:48
  No, I would disagree.
• 1:15:52
  You're too North American based.
• 1:15:56
I just said I'd rather boot Kalipa,
• 1:15:58
get him out of there, and put Miko in.
• 1:16:00
  Oh,
• 1:16:00
I thought you meant you'd rather put
• 1:16:02
  Kalipa in first than Miko.
• 1:16:08
  Sorry.
• 1:16:08
Yeah, I would get rid of Kalipa.
• 1:16:10
If you are stuck on Miko getting in,
• 1:16:13
I would move Kalipa and have him wait.
• 1:16:16
There's space for Kalipa and Miko.
• 1:16:19
  Yeah.
• 1:16:19
  No, there isn't.
• 1:16:21
Let's pull them between first and second.
• 1:16:23
  You didn't even have them.
• 1:16:24
You had them wait till next time.
• 1:16:26
Yes, there's other people that belong on.
• 1:16:28
  OK,
• 1:16:29
so let's meet in the middle then at
• 1:16:31
  least.
• 1:16:31
So let's put them in the second.
• 1:16:33
Then I want to pull Jason.
• 1:16:34
I'm going to tell you that right now.
• 1:16:37
Well, when we have them full,
• 1:16:38
  we will pull.
• 1:16:39
  OK.
• 1:16:43
Dave Castro, I have him in first ballot.
• 1:16:59
  carolyn any thoughts I'm
• 1:17:01
  thinking he invented the
• 1:17:04
  games exactly right yes for
• 1:17:08
the creation of the I guess
• 1:17:10
  I'm all with the athletes
• 1:17:11
  right now I don't
• 1:17:17
  I I mean I just don't think
• 1:17:19
  I it's it's hard to say he
• 1:17:24
  I understand you're in an
• 1:17:25
  athlete mindset but like
• 1:17:27
  dave is synonymous with the
• 1:17:31
  games yeah there would be
• 1:17:33
  no games without dave I
• 1:17:39
mean I'm in for oj simpsons
• 1:17:41
in the football hall of fame
• 1:17:44
You don't have to love him.
• 1:17:46
  Doesn't mean he doesn't
• 1:17:47
  deserve to be there.
• 1:17:48
  She said she agrees first.
• 1:17:56
  Okay.
• 1:17:57
  Do we have any left?
• 1:17:59
Yeah, you've got a couple left.
• 1:18:01
  Adrian Bosman.
• 1:18:03
No, I have him waiting personally.
• 1:18:09
I have the athletes on the mind right now.
• 1:18:10
  I don't want any.
• 1:18:12
  That's fine to me.
• 1:18:13
It's it's wait till next time.
• 1:18:19
  Arm and hammer.
• 1:18:20
  Wait till next time.
• 1:18:22
  I do love him, though.
• 1:18:23
Man, I watched him all the time.
• 1:18:26
  I mean,
• 1:18:26
he just was the originator of he was.
• 1:18:28
  Yeah.
• 1:18:32
  Graham Holmberg.
• 1:18:33
  Wait till next time.
• 1:18:36
  Same.
• 1:18:43
He was one of the only people to beat Rich,
• 1:18:45
  right?
• 1:18:45
  Yeah.
• 1:18:49
The only person to beat Rich.
• 1:18:52
  Well,
• 1:18:53
Tommy Hackenberg on this list beat
• 1:18:56
  him in team.
• 1:18:58
  That was Adrian Conway's team.
• 1:19:00
  Was it?
• 1:19:01
  Yeah.
• 1:19:02
I think it was Tommy's team.
• 1:19:08
I have Brent in my second ballot, so...
• 1:19:13
  But I'm willing,
• 1:19:15
  he'd be somebody I'd be
• 1:19:17
willing to move if you are
• 1:19:20
so partial to Miko or James over Brent.
• 1:19:29
  I would, I mean,
• 1:19:32
  Brent has how many podiums?
• 1:19:34
  That's my thing.
• 1:19:34
  Six.
• 1:19:36
No, three podiums, three fourth place.
• 1:19:40
  But I have somebody else
• 1:19:42
  that I would... That's
• 1:19:44
  pretty hard to beat.
• 1:19:47
How many years was he there?
• 1:19:50
I still have somebody else that I want.
• 1:19:52
  I would agree with Vahir.
• 1:19:55
  Maybe just too early for
• 1:19:56
  Brent because he's just out
• 1:19:57
  of competing and normally
• 1:19:59
we'd wait a little bit for
• 1:20:01
some of the newer ones or some of the...
• 1:20:05
  Fair enough.
• 1:20:06
  I'm okay.
• 1:20:06
  The ones that have been
• 1:20:07
  there for a little bit,
• 1:20:08
  like his time will come
• 1:20:10
within the next couple of years.
• 1:20:11
  I'm okay with that.
• 1:20:12
  That's fair.
• 1:20:13
  Okay.
• 1:20:13
Let's go wait till next time.
• 1:20:20
That's who I have in my,
• 1:20:22
  in my second ballot.
• 1:20:25
  Again, for me,
• 1:20:26
he's somebody who with the family,
• 1:20:28
with the affiliate, like he's pretty,
• 1:20:33
He was a namesake for me,
• 1:20:35
and I think he still pushes
• 1:20:37
  what CrossFit is.
• 1:20:38
  Him and his wife,
• 1:20:39
  I love watching their stories.
• 1:20:43
To me, Brent's above Scott, though.
• 1:20:47
Yeah, but Scott's been out longer.
• 1:20:49
  I had thirty-seven fourth-place finishes.
• 1:20:52
  What's that?
• 1:20:53
  Scott had thirty-seven
• 1:20:54
  fourth-place finishes.
• 1:20:56
  That's what it seems like.
• 1:21:07
  I don't know to me.
• 1:21:12
I'd still have Brent above Scott.
• 1:21:16
So Scott, wait till next time.
• 1:21:18
I think Scott can wait, but that's me.
• 1:21:20
Well, I mean, you still have.
• 1:21:23
So who would you rather have
• 1:21:24
  in there in the second
• 1:21:25
  ballot for your third person?
• 1:21:28
She wants to see all the names.
• 1:21:30
  That is all the names.
• 1:21:31
  No, there's two more.
• 1:21:33
  Okay.
• 1:21:33
  Okay.
• 1:21:36
Yeah, she's not going to want them.
• 1:21:39
  Josh Bridges.
• 1:21:42
  It's a wait for me.
• 1:21:48
He's closer to me to second
• 1:21:50
  ballot than Scott.
• 1:21:55
  I mean,
• 1:21:56
he has a pretty big social media
• 1:21:58
  following.
• 1:21:58
  He has his podcast.
• 1:21:59
  He has The Rogue.
• 1:22:00
He's got to pay the man.
• 1:22:02
For me, when I was picking people like
• 1:22:05
  I'm looking for people who
• 1:22:07
own an affiliate and have pushed that.
• 1:22:13
And that's where, like, Ficality is.
• 1:22:17
  Are we talking about the
• 1:22:17
  affiliate or the sport now?
• 1:22:19
  That's two different things.
• 1:22:20
  We're talking about the affiliate.
• 1:22:23
To me, they're one and the same.
• 1:22:26
The true ones, like Froning, how he has –
• 1:22:31
  Meshed it together.
• 1:22:32
Like that's what I want to see.
• 1:22:33
And that's how I think we grow is those,
• 1:22:35
  those Meccas are huge.
• 1:22:43
Lynn says hall of fame isn't
• 1:22:45
  based on family dynamics, though.
• 1:22:47
  It's contribution to the sport.
• 1:22:55
  Put them between when he
• 1:22:57
says Scott never makes the hall of fame.
• 1:23:01
  No, Scott will.
• 1:23:03
  I'm just thinking.
• 1:23:09
So what are we doing with Josh?
• 1:23:14
  I would assume he's waiting.
• 1:23:15
I would think you would even
• 1:23:15
put James Fitzgerald over him, right?
• 1:23:18
  I have James above him,
• 1:23:19
but I'm thinking Kalipa out right now.
• 1:23:22
  That's why.
• 1:23:26
  But Kalipa was like very
• 1:23:28
  influential as well.
• 1:23:34
  Yep.
• 1:23:37
  So, Clint, he says,
• 1:23:38
  only champions make the
• 1:23:39
first round of Hall of Fame.
• 1:23:40
  Right now,
• 1:23:41
the only people in the ballots
• 1:23:43
  are champions.
• 1:23:44
  Correct.
• 1:23:45
  Well, I mean,
• 1:23:45
Dave Castro is not a champion.
• 1:23:46
  That's true.
• 1:23:50
Josh Bridges is not a champion.
• 1:23:52
  Right.
• 1:23:56
  Right.
• 1:23:57
We got to get through this, guys.
• 1:23:58
Let's go wait till next time for Josh,
• 1:24:00
  just because we do have
• 1:24:01
  champions minus Dave.
• 1:24:04
And we have two more names.
• 1:24:06
  Chris Spieler.
• 1:24:07
  Wait.
• 1:24:08
  Wait.
• 1:24:12
  Although he was very
• 1:24:12
  influential for the small people.
• 1:24:14
  Kyle Casper.
• 1:24:14
  Wait.
• 1:24:15
  Carolyn.
• 1:24:16
  Wait.
• 1:24:18
  Yeah.
• 1:24:18
  Okay.
• 1:24:19
So we're going to put James.
• 1:24:22
  I think that's everybody.
• 1:24:25
  So now we have champions.
• 1:24:27
  Brent.
• 1:24:31
  We'll take James.
• 1:24:32
  James.
• 1:24:33
  Yep.
• 1:24:35
  At least you don't have
• 1:24:36
anyone that didn't win the games in here.
• 1:24:38
  Yep, there you go.
• 1:24:40
  Minus the obvious.
• 1:24:43
  But he created the games.
• 1:24:48
  Yeah.
• 1:24:49
And advance a sport in so many,
• 1:24:51
  like the programming,
• 1:24:54
  the... I think about this
• 1:24:56
Hall of Fame as it should be athletes.
• 1:24:59
  There should be another category.
• 1:25:02
But Don Cherry's in the NHL Hall of Fame.
• 1:25:05
  Um, wasn't he a player?
• 1:25:07
Well, he's known more for his mouth,
• 1:25:09
  right?
• 1:25:09
  Yeah.
• 1:25:09
  Um, but there's, there's sports,
• 1:25:14
  there's a media people in
• 1:25:16
  all the hall of fames.
• 1:25:19
  There are commissioners.
• 1:25:20
  There are,
• 1:25:22
that's why I added those people in there.
• 1:25:25
They should get like a first
• 1:25:26
  or second ballot,
• 1:25:27
but I wanted it to be an option.
• 1:25:30
Like to me, I would rather, uh,
• 1:25:37
Keep the first ballot, second ballot,
• 1:25:39
like the first Hall of Fame
• 1:25:40
  class to the athletes,
• 1:25:42
  and then you start
• 1:25:42
  introducing personalities
• 1:25:44
  and stuff like that.
• 1:25:48
But the guy who invented it,
• 1:25:50
  it does make sense.
• 1:25:51
  I mean,
• 1:25:51
the inventor of football is not in
• 1:25:54
  the Hall of Fame.
• 1:25:56
  I don't know.
• 1:25:57
  The inventor of hockey.
• 1:26:03
  Well, Greg isn't in it.
• 1:26:07
  He's the inventor of CrossFit.
• 1:26:09
  You're talking about the
• 1:26:10
  inventor of games.
• 1:26:11
  The games, yeah.
• 1:26:13
But the guy who started the Super Bowl is.
• 1:26:18
  There you go.
• 1:26:22
  So anyway,
• 1:26:23
so our final list is first
• 1:26:25
ballot is Rich Froning, Matt Fraser,
• 1:26:27
  Ben Smith, Dave Castro.
• 1:26:29
Second ballot, Jason Kalipa, Miko Salo,
• 1:26:32
  James Fitzgerald,
• 1:26:33
and then a whole bunch of
• 1:26:35
people in Wait Till Next Time.
• 1:26:37
  Right.
• 1:26:38
  Including Josh Bridges, Sagat Pancek,
• 1:26:40
  and Brent Fikowski,
• 1:26:41
who seem to have the most
• 1:26:42
love of the people who got
• 1:26:44
  Wait Till Next Time.
• 1:26:45
  Agreed.
• 1:26:49
  but that was fun.
• 1:26:51
So next week we're going to
• 1:26:52
  do it with the women,
• 1:26:55
which I think it may actually be tougher.
• 1:26:58
  Yeah.
• 1:26:59
  Other than Tia,
• 1:27:00
there's no like long stretch champions.
• 1:27:03
  I mean, Katrin Annie.
• 1:27:05
  Yeah.
• 1:27:06
  That's two wins.
• 1:27:09
  It'll be tough.
• 1:27:10
I think there's going to be a few.
• 1:27:12
  We definitely don't agree on.
• 1:27:14
  Okay.
• 1:27:15
Julie Boucher has got a few podiums.
• 1:27:18
  There's a lot of names.
• 1:27:20
  Voight Miller.
• 1:27:21
  Sam Briggs.
• 1:27:23
  Clever.
• 1:27:26
  I think there's some good
• 1:27:27
  options in there.
• 1:27:28
  Yeah.
• 1:27:32
So I will put together the list.
• 1:27:33
  Again,
• 1:27:34
it'll be people who are retired or
• 1:27:36
  who I know are retired.
• 1:27:38
  Female coaches.
• 1:27:39
  I mean,
• 1:27:39
right now we're just doing anything,
• 1:27:41
  I guess.
• 1:27:41
Why did you not put coaches?
• 1:27:43
Because coaches are kind of a new thing.
• 1:27:47
And none of them are really retired.
• 1:27:49
  Okay.
• 1:27:51
  Fair.
• 1:27:52
  Until the guy from Mammoth
• 1:27:53
  just retired today or yesterday.
• 1:27:59
So I guess Ben Bergeron retired.
• 1:28:03
  Oh, yeah.
• 1:28:05
  True.
• 1:28:05
Would he take any of these seven places?
• 1:28:07
  He'd be a wait.
• 1:28:09
  I mean,
• 1:28:10
  his programming was so influential.
• 1:28:12
  Like, like what's everyone did.
• 1:28:15
Everyone looked at the calm train program.
• 1:28:17
His, he did play a role in, you know,
• 1:28:22
  coaching two champions.
• 1:28:24
  Like there's so many.
• 1:28:29
  And yeah, it's people,
• 1:28:31
people could argue his position on.
• 1:28:34
  Yeah.
• 1:28:35
  His influence in the space.
• 1:28:37
  Like,
• 1:28:39
During those years, it was huge.
• 1:28:41
  I agree.
• 1:28:42
He had incredible influence in the space.
• 1:28:46
  Yeah.
• 1:28:48
Yeah, I think this was fun.
• 1:28:51
  Yeah.
• 1:28:51
And we'll rack it up again
• 1:28:52
for next week for the women.
• 1:28:55
And if you guys can think of
• 1:28:57
  anything else you want to
• 1:28:58
play a game with like this,
• 1:29:00
we'll do that throughout the offseason.
• 1:29:02
And I like when Jamie and Carolyn fight.
• 1:29:08
that's what the goal is I
• 1:29:10
  just think my definition of
• 1:29:12
  this is different agreed
• 1:29:14
like I I want to see the
• 1:29:15
  athletes there like I think
• 1:29:16
  there's something wrong
• 1:29:17
when we don't have all the
• 1:29:18
  athletes in here for the
• 1:29:19
first ballot to me if you
• 1:29:22
  think we're wrong uh leave
• 1:29:24
a comment in down below and
• 1:29:27
I will check those out and
• 1:29:28
  read those this week and
• 1:29:29
  maybe we'll come back next
• 1:29:30
  week and review that before
• 1:29:32
  we hit the women
• 1:29:33
  Any comments that you guys
• 1:29:35
  may leave about who we
• 1:29:37
picked to make the Hall of Fame?
• 1:29:39
  It looks like John Young
• 1:29:40
  left because you know he
• 1:29:41
would have had opinions on all of this.
• 1:29:48
But I think with that, that's everything.
