Transcript
- 1:04Speaker 1: I put post as something about how we need to stand boldly as Christians and not compromise, but yet speak the truth with compassion and love.
- 1:09Speaker 1: So someone put shame on you in the comments under the post.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I didn't know if it was someone that knew me or didn't, or you know, because I have followers that I don't know on there and so Obviously I did know you, yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So I sent a private message and I just said hey, I'm not sure if this was aimed at me or someone else.
- 1:24Speaker 1: If I've set something to offend you, can you please let me know?
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'd want to, you know, address it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So they did and they lambasted me.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I mean they just you know who do you think you are and you're judging this and that.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Anyway, I responded with love, kindness, gentleness, and then they, they softened.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And then we went Could you give us examples of what you said?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I just said, look.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I said you're right, I don't understand your world.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And you're right.
- 1:46Speaker 1: He said I talk a lot, amen.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I said you're right, I do talk a lot and I'm sure there are things that I've said that have been unkind and loving, and for that I asked that you please forgive me.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I said you're right, I don't understand your world, but there are those who do, and I'd love you to watch these videos if you want.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I sent videos of men's testimonies who had been in the homosexual world and got saved and I said if you're ever in the LA area, please let me know.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'd love to invite you over and have lunch, bring you to the ministry and if there's ever anything I can do to serve you, please let me know.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I would take a bullet in your place.
- 2:15Speaker 1: God has witnessed to that.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And so he just like totally turned it around and then opened up and told me his struggles and all these things.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And then by the end of, by the end of our dialogue, he said I just want you to know I've repented, I'm I'm changing my way.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And then he ended up changing his profile picture on Facebook from his, his picture to our audacity movies graphic.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Why do I love traveling with my wife?
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm so glad you guys asked.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Uh well, one of the main reasons is, as I've alluded to before, is she is my snore stopper on planes.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I love sleeping on planes.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I know, ray, you've always been jealous and envious of me because of this.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I say, you can sleep on planes.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I can't sleep in planes, and so you don't travel anymore.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I have noticed some of the other passengers saying they couldn't hear the engines when you were snoring.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You know what I would.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I would not be surprised by that, but you know I travel a lot and and I like to sleep, because usually before flights are you guys this way Before I travel I usually only get like three, four hours sleep, like at the most.
- 3:24Speaker 4: If it's an early flight, for sure, yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 4: If we have a seven aim flight at John Wayne, I would probably wake up at 6.30 and make my way up, but you probably went to what.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Mark and I travel together quite often now and we're always, we're always like it's always a back and forth what time should we leave?
- 3:42Speaker 1: And Mark's always wanting to go later.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I want to go earlier.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I've done that too Easy once a day early.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just crazy.
- 3:48Speaker 5: One time we were going to meet at John Wayne airport and he was like, oh, let's get there at 6 am.
- 3:51Speaker 5: I'm like the flight's up 4 pm.
- 3:52Speaker 5: What are you talking about?
- 3:56Speaker 1: It's good to be early.
- 3:57Speaker 2: There was a queue at a snoring, a queue Sleep apnea.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We both have it right, Don't we?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so, anyway, my wife does me from snoring.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But there's another thing she does.
- 4:08Speaker 1: She helps me during the incessant head bobbing session.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You guys ever do that when you're falling asleep or you're asleep and you're like, seriously, I've watched people do it and I probably do it too, but it's like it just keeps going.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I like that.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We're a podcast, I know I wish they could hear it.
- 4:33Speaker 1: What's she thinking here?
- 4:35Speaker 1: I mean, I see it.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I mean see it.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 4:37Speaker 2: It's the same thing, yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But what about you guys ever do as you're falling asleep, the body.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Oh, that's horrible.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah, the jerky.
- 4:47Speaker 2: What do you call that thing, the jerk?
- 4:50Speaker 1: The jerk but it's really weird.
- 4:52Speaker 2: And also when there's a pig in the room and you wake up, that's weird.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But why do we do that?
- 4:59Speaker 1: Now I kind of I've gotten to a place in my sleep pattern where I know that if I start to do that, I'm good, I'm going to fall asleep, and I almost always do it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Now I do it.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's like I'm falling off a cliff.
- 5:12Speaker 5: You have some weird sleep things, though.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Let's be honest, I know man why.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Why weirdness and sleep?
- 5:17Speaker 2: It's just part of the fallen creation.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It's just terrible, all of sleep stupid and all of sleep.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, what about apricot sleep?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's good.
- 5:25Speaker 2: All of sleep is great.
- 5:27Speaker 5: My favorite thing is when I'm traveling with these two guys.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I call them when you get asleep you start to fall asleep and, mark, I love how you're like always throwing food into his mouth.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You know what this dude's always taking pictures of me when I'm asleep.
- 5:36Speaker 1: He's got a whole file on his mind.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I do mark you have no idea how how extensive and long the list of vengeful things.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna do to you.
- 5:48Speaker 1: No, no, not me, not me.
- 5:49Speaker 1: The Lord forgive you, I don't forgive you.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so, but, ray, look, we need to get to the bottom of this, why you'll find out.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Do we need to?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we do, ray, you no longer travel.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yes, okay, you've stopped traveling.
- 6:05Speaker 1: You don't travel?
- 6:10Speaker 3: You stop traveling what's Ray doing?
- 6:12Speaker 1: He doesn't travel.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Oh, so he's not.
- 6:14Speaker 5: He's stopped for those who are listening.
- 6:15Speaker 5: You should know Ray will be like yeah, I'll drive four and a half hours.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Would you jump on an airplane for 45 minutes?
- 6:21Speaker 3: No, no, I close not night, because by the time you drive today, able get able, you get the security.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Take your shoes off and all this sort of silliness.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah and then you have to wait and then the planes delayed, and then that ray, your son is a connecting flight and that's delayed.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I know everything that's in Phoenix.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You're so far behind.
- 6:38Speaker 1: There's something glorious called TSA preach.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I did, we did, let me travel together.
- 6:43Speaker 1: A few years ago we had wonderful yeah okay, but, ray, here's what I want the people to know.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Tell the people right.
- 6:49Speaker 1: What are some of the most annoying things?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Travel, just traveling.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Why do you hate it?
- 6:55Speaker 2: I wrote a book called 101 annoying things about air travel.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I wrote on one one flight.
- 7:00Speaker 2: This is a guy with a tray table that Does it got a seat back.
- 7:05Speaker 2: The people that pull you here when they're walking down the aisle, the bags that hit you on the head, the delayed flights we're flight attendants.
- 7:12Speaker 2: There's all sorts of things.
- 7:14Speaker 2: A turbulence that's a lot of fun too.
- 7:16Speaker 2: We're gonna die.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Mark spends calls out, often in turbulence.
- 7:21Speaker 5: It actually all makes sense, because I feel like the worst thing you can possibly do with Ray is is make him sit down and Strap into a seat and not let him do anything for three hours and that's basically flying.
- 7:31Speaker 1: If only we can get an all-white airplane.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Your son, daniel Ray he said you know, I've often doubted your salvation mark, but the moment that I realized you were a Christian was when we're on a fly a flight together, and we had such bad turbulence without the plane was going down and I heard you yell out let's do this.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Maybe is born again.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah, there are a whole lot of things.
- 7:58Speaker 2: There's the air that you breathe, the food that you eat, the germs on the plane.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I talked to Ken Ham about germs on planes.
- 8:03Speaker 2: He's just paranoid.
- 8:05Speaker 2: There's just, you know, on that tray table, everyone touches it, and stuff.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so many things that are just crazy.
- 8:10Speaker 5: The way things.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So I just gonna say why I don't fly.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Been on 2000 flights and I just said one day, that's enough.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I've done.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I put in my time.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah, now I have the internet, I'll make videos.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Click a button.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Millions of people.
- 8:22Speaker 2: That's that I'm with my wife too.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I've left her for 30 years by herself.
- 8:26Speaker 2: No, I don't want to leave all the crazy dog.
- 8:28Speaker 5: This is your first wife, right yeah?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Number one yeah, solomon's.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you know I, I almost got killed on a plane, my our last flight.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Actually, rachel and I were coming back from Washington and they were about to take off, but I really had to use a restroom and so I got up.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I thought I'll ask you.
- 8:44Speaker 1: You know, the stortices are by the door.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So I go up and I go, so I'm walking to go back and the sky had his foot out and I just I didn't see it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I Went right and the foes like that.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So I I kicked it with my foot and went back.
- 8:59Speaker 1: His foot.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah, he's all.
- 9:00Speaker 1: It wasn't one of those gracious like oh, he's like.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm identifying.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Oh, I put my hand on the shoulder.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, I didn't see.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He didn't give me any consolation, you know.
- 9:14Speaker 1: So he's all.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I almost got killed, but but yeah, flying is, it's in a tank.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Okay, I have to.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I enjoy traveling.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's an attend cam with 200 people.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I enjoy.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I enjoy almost everything about flying I of course it's sitting long way, but I can read my personal audio.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I can.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You're going places, your mark.
- 9:36Speaker 3: How do you feel about?
- 9:37Speaker 1: it.
- 9:37Speaker 4: It's a good time to Say we travel and speak in churches and events and conferences and things of that nature.
- 9:42Speaker 4: You know good.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Or a living waters website?
- 9:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and you'll see how to invite us out.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm flying to Colorado tomorrow.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we would love to.

- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, zoom, zoom, zoom.
- 9:59Speaker 1: All right frowns.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Here's a comment from duggos Love this podcast.
- 10:05Speaker 1: This is, for sure, one of my favorite podcasts.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I love how y'all fit humor into every episode alongside God's incredible word.
- 10:11Speaker 1: There have been so many episodes that have really spoken to me and helped me remember God's promises through hard times.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Keep it up, y'all.
- 10:18Speaker 1: God bless so good.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I know we have southern fans out there.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Thank you, duggos.
- 10:23Speaker 2: That's a blessing to us and friends we say is from the south, because we're trying to spread y'all and we may have been doing it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Maybe we are, can you?
- 10:31Speaker 1: imagine if we are responsible for spreading y'all to the west.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Me, do it your place.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Alright, friends, you could rap y'all, yeah, y'all, y'all.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna make a call.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Never gonna stop, never gonna stall.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Always have up on the Life, I'm gonna have a ball.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm so went through all the love.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all.
- 10:51Speaker 5: And that's one at the eight minute mark is when we lost the listeners.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Spread the y'all, y'all.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I love how Mark's like just bopping and he's just doing a sing answering emails.
- 11:01Speaker 4: You just got to play along the I absolutely detest rap and everything that ever comes out of your mouth when it comes to music, but you just got to play along.
- 11:09Speaker 4: You just enjoy it, pretend, yeah, it's good from his 820.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Alright, anyway, I am.
- 11:13Speaker 1: We just recently got some wonderful mugs from some friends of ours.
- 11:16Speaker 1: They are Willie and so sorry we can't tell if this is a T or an L or knee or C or morning.
- 11:25Speaker 1: It might be a triangle 20.
- 11:26Speaker 2: This is another rep.
- 11:27Speaker 1: It's to our NY or COR and why.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Anyhow, thank you guys so much.
- 11:31Speaker 1: One of the letter says to Ray, mark, easy, oscar and Scotty, thank you for starting the podcast and keeping it up.
- 11:36Speaker 1: You guys are like personal friends and we talk about you on a first name level.
- 11:40Speaker 1: That's why we decided to send you guys our mugs on a on a mug.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So you, oh, our mugs on a mug got it, so you could get to know us too, at least a little.
- 11:51Speaker 1: The serious, serious discussions on the podcast show is zeal for Christ and an earnestness for a righteous life.
- 11:57Speaker 1: The banter shows that joy, love and laughter also have their places in the Christian walk.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You continue to be used by God, thank you so much.
- 12:05Speaker 5: Yeah, that's really sweet.
- 12:06Speaker 1: We love the mugs so grateful for them and thank you for listening.
- 12:09Speaker 1: We'd love to meet you one day, so come by and see us here at Living Waters.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Oh, oh well, I'll mention it in a minute.
- 12:15Speaker 1: This podcast Anyone but me 10 ways to overcome your fears and be prepared to share the gospel by Ray comfort Ray, I like to cover on that book.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So I wasn't listening.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I was thinking hey, I sound like Morgan Freeman.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Give him a hand.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Well, well, let me tell you right, that's nothing close.
- 12:37Speaker 5: It's like you've never heard Morgan Freeman.
- 12:41Speaker 1: My name is Morgan Freeman.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It's getting worse office coffee stinks oh mark, that was good.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Oh, I'm just a, I love yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Mark is giving up.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, don't forget anyone but me, ray.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Goodbook, living Waters, mugs, evidence, Study, bible, all that.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Living Waters, whoa good Oscar, good LivingWaterscom brands.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Oh, and Ray put this here so I don't forget to tell you.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I almost did, but I won't because it's here and I'm holding it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Science says Christians live longer than unbelievers.
- 13:14Speaker 1: This booklet will tell you why.
- 13:16Speaker 2: It's a new booklet and I was thrilled to see something that's not republicized.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But Christians live nearly 10 years longer than non-Christians Really, all backed up by science.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Now, who isn't gonna be interested in that?
- 13:27Speaker 2: Because, like I've said before, we have literally millions of people right at this moment in these torture chambers called gyms and other people greet, drinking green slime because they want to live longer, they want to keep healthy, but here's how they can live at least 10 years longer by just adhering to what that little booklet tells you.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Wow, it's quite incredible.
- 13:46Speaker 2: There's actually nothing magic about it.
- 13:48Speaker 2: You know what it is.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I'll let the little cat out of the bag.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Hi, is that we don't?
- 13:51Speaker 5: forget I'm allergic to cats.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You are no, Mark.
- 13:55Speaker 2: What do you think of cats?
- 13:56Speaker 1: I love cats.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah okay, can't eat a ha ha ha.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Just hope we're sorry, ladies.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It's the real cat out of the bag.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Anyway, Christians don't live dangerous lifestyles.
- 14:06Speaker 2: We don't drink alcohol.
- 14:07Speaker 2: You can if you want, but drunkenness, there's drugs.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Ray just offended millions of Christians.
- 14:12Speaker 1: They drink alcohol.
- 14:13Speaker 2: There's drinking and driving.
- 14:14Speaker 2: There's all sorts of things that we don't do because the temple is our body's temple of the Holy Spirit, so we don't risk things, and so it's got all the statistics of how many people die each year through doing these risky behaviors that Christians don't touch.
- 14:27Speaker 1: If Christians stopped going in public, they'd live way longer, don't they?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yes, seriously, if you don't drive, you don't walk on the street, you don't breathe.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Well, I don't know.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I heard of a lady who was lying in bed and a car came screaming through.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Ha ha ha ha, that would happen.
- 14:44Speaker 3: How are you?
- 14:44Speaker 1: relaxing at that.
- 14:45Speaker 5: That would happen to you, yeah, I think you would be the one driving the car, yeah, and the one in bed.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Actually, you would do that right.
- 14:52Speaker 1: It's what I should have said.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah, anyhow, friends, that's what that is.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Ray, you've solved so many problems in life how to overcome insomnia, how to overcome panic attacks, how to live longer, how to put a hole in your bed and sleep.
- 15:03Speaker 2: And how, oh, we remember what we found.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Someone sent me that thing.
- 15:07Speaker 1: There's actually a bed with a hole in it, a mattress with a hole in it, an inflatable yes, an inflatable For people that had surgery on their bottom.
- 15:18Speaker 2: For the smooth part.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, anyways, friends, oh, by the way, today we've discovered something new there's nothing new on the list.
- 15:29Speaker 1: When your mailman comes the next time, read what's on his back you have smell, you have smell you have smell, you have smell.
- 15:39Speaker 3: That's very good, all right, friends.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm saying.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Time to start the show.
- 15:46Speaker 1: All right, today, how can Christians use Do we have?
- 15:49Speaker 2: captions on our videos to say that what you're actually saying, god, so people understand me, because there's so much that you say is so fast and so slurred.
- 15:58Speaker 1: The captioning.
- 15:59Speaker 1: People wouldn't understand it anyway, it doesn't matter.
- 16:01Speaker 1: All right, today, how can Christians use the internet to share the gospel Ray?
- 16:09Speaker 1: You're a very weird person, true, and I was thinking about that today.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Like there are certain things in life that like make me realize God's existence distinctly.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You know, like I'll look at something like okay, god exists, the fact that you you're Wait, for it, wait for it.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I don't know this is I'm coming.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Very normal, don't build it up.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You're normal.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You're normal, it should be normal.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You're undying zeal for evangelism Is to me such evidence that God is real, Because it's so evident that he has wired you for this, Because I know it's not something that you are naturally excited about, but it's a calling God has given you that has mobilized the church of today in a big way and is continuing to why you never stop.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Stop it.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I look at my normal biblical Christian that.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So every Christian should love God with heart, mind, soul and strength, love his neighbors himself and be his analyst to reach the last word every means he can, and the internet's a wonderful means.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And the whole thought that I thought when I thought about this was don't despise small beginnings.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I think it's in Zechariah, as Scripture says who with reason this is the amplified Bible, so I'm saying it a little louder who with reason despises the day of small things or beginnings.
- 17:34Speaker 5: It's raised life first.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's my life first.
- 17:36Speaker 2: But I'm thinking like if you want to reach ones for the lost, start a podcast.
- 17:42Speaker 2: You say, well, I got nothing to say.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Of course you have.
- 17:44Speaker 2: You can expound Scripture, say who's going to listen, who's going to watch, or maybe one or two people your aunt, your uncle or someone like that.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But don't despise the day of small beginnings.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Just think of it being like a seed.
- 17:56Speaker 2: When I wrote my first book, I wasn't an author.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I got failed in English in school so I didn't know how to write, but I had this passion that drove me for three nights to write my first book and the Scripture that Wait, did I hear that correctly?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Okay, Hold on.
- 18:12Speaker 5: How long did it take you?
- 18:13Speaker 5: Okay, we have to pause here.
- 18:14Speaker 4: It took you three days to write a book.
- 18:15Speaker 4: It's three nights, his first book.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Okay, his first book.
- 18:18Speaker 1: We have to pause here.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You make me so mad.
- 18:22Speaker 1: You know what?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Today just Well, yeah, last night I was thinking through my book.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I was almost in tears because I'm looking at samples of the cover.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And those of you that have been listening for a long time, oscar's yawning already, so tired of hearing this, but those of you that have been listening to the podcast for a long time, you know I've been working on a book forever.
- 18:42Speaker 1: What's?
- 18:42Speaker 2: the quote.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm in.
- 18:43Speaker 2: What's the quote?
- 18:44Speaker 1: Oh, I almost got you.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I shouldn't have.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a delay there.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It was a delay, but what's the name of the book?
- 18:48Speaker 2: I was thinking.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah, fight like a man.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yes, a bold, biblical battle plan for personal purity.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Anyway, I'm looking at the first rounds of cover design that my publisher sent me and I'm looking at it and it's so beautiful.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I mean the cover, the art is just so nice.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And I'm looking, I'm seeing at the top an endorsement by John MacArthur which is going to say every man needs the help that this book offers.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Why is John MacArthur talking so?
- 19:20Speaker 1: slowly.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Is he got a problem?
- 19:22Speaker 1: It's a robot, it's AI.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But I'm looking at that, I'm looking at you know, forward by Ken Ham Ray.
- 19:29Speaker 1: You've endorsed it.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So many other respected, well-known, godly leaders of endorsement.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I'm thinking, lord, thank you.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And then suddenly my mind went back to all the work I've done on this thing and I seriously felt trauma.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I felt trauma Because I mean again two and a half years of writing, every single day.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I wrote a book of three nights.
- 19:50Speaker 3: No, no three nights.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Three nights First book and it was like a bestseller in New Zealand, right yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And the scripture that came to heart to me for writing the book was commit your ways to the Lord, you know.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Establish your thoughts.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And I just stood on that.
- 20:04Speaker 2: My thoughts got established over three nights, kept writing and writing and then, when it came to the cover, I just said, oh God, do a cover Red heading, We'll have a guy shooting up.
- 20:12Speaker 2: And became a bestseller, no trauma.
- 20:14Speaker 5: I mean it's New Zealand, so it takes like 15 books to be a bestseller.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I've been printing, re-printing the cover.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I've sent it to dozens of people for their thoughts.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm still working through it.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah, ray Comfort, stop it.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so what was the question?
- 20:28Speaker 1: I don't know, yeah, but here's the thing.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Oh don't despise the day of small beginnings.
- 20:34Speaker 2: First book was just nothing.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I wasn't, didn't have a right First track David did was a bit pathetic, and the first video we ever made for YouTube was just nothing special, but it just happened.
- 20:45Speaker 2: So trust the Lord, commit your way to Him.
- 20:47Speaker 2: He'll establish the thought.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Start your little podcast, start your little Facebook posts, write something from the scriptures and you don't know what's going to come from that, because the internet's quite amazing.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah Well, I've talked before about when I learned what you were all about and I listened to that Comfort's favorite tape that you put together.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
- 21:04Speaker 2: It was a mess.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And it was the like, obviously done at home, on your home recorder and between every segment there was no editor.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I didn't know how to edit.
- 21:15Speaker 2: What I used to do is cut the tape with a little sharp knife and glue it together with ordinary scotch tape.
- 21:21Speaker 5: That's the only way you say it.
- 21:22Speaker 5: That's why it sounds exactly like something you do.
- 21:24Speaker 1: That's why, when I listened to it, it went oh that was the sound of scotch tape.
- 21:29Speaker 2: There's no other way to do it.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I had no one to help me, so I just did it myself.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So the moral of the story is just do it.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Not like it.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I like, not like it.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Yeah, stay away from perfectionism.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It's a killer.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That's true, and it's something easy you fight and you've admitted it and I don't have any problem with it whatsoever.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I do fight.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you're far from perfection.
- 21:49Speaker 5: I just read something that was so good.
- 21:51Speaker 5: It was talking, and it hit me because you and I struggle with that same thing of perfectionism or needed to get it right, and it's this study.
- 21:58Speaker 5: This teacher was a photography teacher in college, and so he took his class and he divided it into two, and the first section of the class their responsibility was to deliver one photo, their best photo of the semester.
- 22:13Speaker 5: That's it Like all semester long.
- 22:15Speaker 5: All you had to turn in was one picture.
- 22:17Speaker 5: The other half of the class, their only responsibility in A, was to turn in as many photos as possible A hundred photos, a thousand photos, whatever.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Through and through, the people who turned in the thousand photos had the best images than the students that turned in the one photo.
- 22:35Speaker 5: And the point that this author was making was repetition will get you closer to perfection than preparation.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Could you say that again?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Repetition will get you closer to perfection than preparation.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Can you?
- 22:47Speaker 5: say that again Repetition will get you closer to perfection than preparation.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Repetition is a mother of knowledge.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It's a great saying.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Though you repeat something, it's a good thing to do, but seriously, if you aim at perfection, you just can't do it because you're a human being.
- 23:02Speaker 1: No, and you guys have been a big help to me in this regard and that you remind me.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Mark, in fact, the other day just said to him just be careful of perfection.
- 23:09Speaker 1: And I need to hear that, because I am by nature perfectionist and I don't like Mark again yesterday and who else who caught me?
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm just always straightening things and doing it now.
- 23:19Speaker 2: How do you look in the mirror each day?
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'm always trying this Seriously.
- 23:23Speaker 1: When I do, I'm like I wish I could fix this on my face, but no, it's true.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I think perfectionism obviously has its place, and without perfectionists, I think that there would be a lot of shortcomings in the world.
- 23:38Speaker 1: They're needed at the right time and the right way, yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Murray Smith, my wonderful friend from New Zealand, who you know, says something to me I've never forgotten, but I don't forget it Now.
- 23:48Speaker 2: He said aim at the moon, and if you clear the trees, you're doing fine.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Wow, that's good.
- 23:53Speaker 2: And I thought that's just good because after aim at the moon I don't get as where I want to get, but I've got somewhere.
- 24:00Speaker 1: To this day, I still have not been able to figure out what the lie is, that Murray keeps perpetuating.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Aim at the moon If you get over the trees you're fine unless you're an astronaut, yeah right, but do you know what it is, Ray, with the lie that Murray continues to try to perpetuate.
- 24:19Speaker 2: What Saying?
- 24:19Speaker 2: I'm a nice or something what?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Is it Come on Murray's myth.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Please don't do that noise, carry on.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I love that noise.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Anyway, we're not even on the subject, you guys, what are you doing?
- 24:33Speaker 1: So we're talking basically about and I saw this online and I really loved it.
- 24:37Speaker 1: It's called digital evangelism.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Oh, biblical evangelism, digital evangelism.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Did you do it yourself or did someone help you?
- 24:45Speaker 1: How about this Biblical digital evangelism?
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yes, yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 4: How many people do you think the apostle Paul reached during his lifetime?
- 24:52Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 24:52Speaker 4: What are you?
- 24:53Speaker 4: Actor's lifetime?
- 24:54Speaker 4: No, yeah, During his lifetime though.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'd say in the thousands, in the thousands, thousands.
- 25:00Speaker 1: But think of, yeah, think of.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I know, did it reach 100,000 people.
- 25:04Speaker 4: I mean that's probably stretching, that would be, I'd say probably 10,000 people.
- 25:10Speaker 4: You know, I was looking at Ray's second channel, ray Comfort Just Witnessing, and the channel's blowing up.
- 25:16Speaker 4: If you don't know anything about our YouTube channel, we have our main channel and then we have our second channel, which is called Ray Comfort Just Witnessing, which is just witnessing clips that Ray has put together.
- 25:25Speaker 4: It goes out twice a day to show the gospel, records it on his little phone Every second day and uploads it every second day.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and I was looking.
- 25:34Speaker 4: We had one the other day for 140,000 or so.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Do you follow?
- 25:40Speaker 4: Yeah, there's 1.3 million.
- 25:42Speaker 4: 1.3 million.
- 25:43Speaker 4: I mean that's crazy.
- 25:44Speaker 4: One video reaching more people than the Apostle Paul.
- 25:47Speaker 4: That's amazing what the Apostle Paul would do to have the internet today.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It's.
- 25:51Speaker 2: The reason that channel exists is because it's the not so perfect witnessing session.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you started the channel not long ago, ray, and you sent me something the other day which, like, got over 9 million views.
- 26:01Speaker 1: 19 million, oh 19,.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Sorry, 19 million, that's right, and it's 140,000 subs or more.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's just very encouraging.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And again that started small right.
- 26:12Speaker 1: It was a new channel and there were thoughts like it may not succeed, it may not do well, it may not, but you just kept at it and it's that consistency that blesses.
- 26:20Speaker 4: And we uploaded this video.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Ray uploaded this video five days ago.
- 26:23Speaker 4: 651,000 views.
- 26:27Speaker 5: I'm all one person.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I'm a lady trying to write your notes.
- 26:31Speaker 1: But guys, I'm so desensitized to these numbers anymore and it's sad, it breaks my heart that I am, I don't wanna be.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sad for you.
- 26:38Speaker 1: 600,000.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Seriously if we get a video as 50,000 views on it of two weeks, we think we failed.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just stupid 50,000 people.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So all right, so let's jump into it.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Digital evangelism what are ways that we can use this amazing modern technology to reach the world?
- 26:59Speaker 4: Earlier today I wrote up the gospel and I did it a few years ago.
- 27:04Speaker 4: But I wrote up the gospel and I put it up on my Facebook page three hours ago and I posted it and people are sharing it and liking it.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Now here's the thing people could say look, I don't have a Facebook page.
- 27:14Speaker 4: I said, well, create a Facebook page, put the gospel on there, pin it to the top, and you never need to come back.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Somebody can stumble upon your page and get the gospel and you don't need to know about it.
- 27:26Speaker 4: And this side of heaven, that'd be so great.
- 27:29Speaker 4: It has 80 shares, 148 likes and only four comments.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It's the gospel, yeah, but you go back in a year's time and you'll see what's happened.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yes, exactly yeah, it'll be removed from Facebook In a year's career for now.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great Mark.
- 27:46Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's one way.
- 27:48Speaker 1: So social media you got Facebook, you've got Twitter, you've got Reconvicts, hand X, right.
- 27:54Speaker 3: The X.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, mark put a gospel presentation on his Facebook page.
- 28:01Speaker 2: She said I don't know how to do that.
- 28:03Speaker 2: You can go to any of our tracks and cut and paste the gospel message.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Yeah there you go.
- 28:07Speaker 2: They're not copyright.
- 28:07Speaker 2: You just go in, just block it, copy it and that's yours.
- 28:11Speaker 1: They are copyright, but we give you permission to do that.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it, copyright, because there's something more important than copyright to us, and that's to get the gospel To the unsafe.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we copyright so that atheists don't take our stuff and twist it and do things that there's reasons to do that, so but yeah, but we give permission for people to do that.
- 28:29Speaker 2: And also another thing you can do is you can go in and find a nasty comment on a Christian channel just the nastiest, disgusting thing.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Just write back to the person and say, hey, thanks for watching.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Anyway, Hope your day's going well.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Can I answer any of your questions?
- 28:42Speaker 2: That's good.
- 28:42Speaker 2: That person could write back and say, yeah, my parents are hypocrites and I think the church is full of hypocrites.
- 28:48Speaker 2: And then you just go back and say, well, hypocrite means pretender.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Did you know that there's a lot of pretenders within the church, but there's the genuine thing.
- 28:55Speaker 2: So don't throw out the baby or the bathwater and then explain what that means.
- 28:58Speaker 2: That poor baby.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I just had a thought about, first of all, what the Lord can do through us reaching out digitally, and what a strange idea, right, if you told someone this back in the day of Christ.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Hey, I'm inside a room, I've been talking to someone, seeing their face, interacting with them, hearing their voice, and we've been doing this for two years.
- 29:22Speaker 2: In New Zealand, 7,000 miles away.
- 29:24Speaker 1: On the other side of the planet.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I've never, ever once seen them, never been near them, and then one day, if you do meet that person physically, it's like you've known each other for decades.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I mean just mind blowing that we could do that.
- 29:35Speaker 1: One of the most, I think, impactful encounters I had online was through Facebook and I had posted something back when they were that couple had refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding, remember, and they got in trouble and all that and it was a big thing.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So, anyway, I posted something about it.
- 29:55Speaker 1: We got the mouth here, do you remember?
- 29:56Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Yes, they came to one of the movie premieres.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It was the one on homosexuality which we called.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I guess, I guess it is.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Well, yes and we had a big premiere at Jack Epps's church and they came.
- 30:08Speaker 2: It was wonderful, that's right.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I remember I posted something about how we need to stand boldly as Christians and not compromise, but yet speak the truth with compassion and love.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So someone put shame on you in the comments under the post.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I didn't know if it was someone that knew me or didn't, or you know, because I have followers that I don't know on there and so Obviously didn't know you.
- 30:27Speaker 1: So I sent a private message and I just said hey, I'm not sure if this was aimed at me or someone else.
- 30:32Speaker 1: If I've set something up in the Fend, you can please let me know.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I'd wanna, you know, address it.
- 30:35Speaker 1: So they did and they lambasted me.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I mean, they just you know who do you think you are and you're judging this and that.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Anyway, I responded with love, kindness, gentleness, and then they softened.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Could you give us examples of what you said?
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I just said look.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I said you're right, I don't understand your world.
- 30:52Speaker 1: And you're right.
- 30:54Speaker 1: He said I talk a lot, amen.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I said you're right, I do talk a lot and I'm sure there are things that I've said that have been unkind and loving, and for that I ask that you please forgive me.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I said you're right, I don't understand your world, but there are those who do, and I'd love you to watch these videos if you want.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I sent videos of men's testimonies who had been in the homosexual world and got saved and I said if you're ever in the LA area, please let me know.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I'd love to invite you over and have lunch, bring you to the ministry and if there's ever anything I can do to serve you, please let me know.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I would take a bullet in your place.
- 31:23Speaker 1: God has witnessed to that.
- 31:24Speaker 1: And so he just like totally turned it around and then opened up and told me his struggles and all these things, and then by the end of our dialogue, he said I just want you to know I've repented, I'm changing my way.
- 31:40Speaker 1: And then he ended up changing his profile picture on Facebook from his picture to our audacity movies graphic.
- 31:47Speaker 4: But I wish you would read the letters back and forth, because you're not doing justice to the communication that you have.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Maybe you know what we should do.
- 31:55Speaker 5: We should have our producers add a link to your social media.
- 31:59Speaker 5: Where that are.
- 31:59Speaker 5: Are you, don't?
- 32:00Speaker 5: You have that written out?
- 32:01Speaker 5: I have it.
- 32:02Speaker 1: but yeah, I yeah, we'll see, maybe we could do that.
- 32:04Speaker 5: If we do it, it'll be in there?
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be great.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Possibly, yeah, but anyhow it just was and I share this in one of my sermons that I share all around the country, and it's just an example of how we can.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I've never met this guy in person, but through that interaction online, through using that technology, got impacted.
- 32:22Speaker 1: A person you know.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I mean, who couldn't melt with such love?
- 32:26Speaker 5: I will say this Maybe not everybody should pursue social media in that kind of a way, because social media does has its dangers and pitfalls.
- 32:38Speaker 5: You know, there's this story I think I've shared with you guys personally, but I've never shared it.
- 32:42Speaker 5: I don't think I've ever shared it on here.
- 32:45Speaker 5: There was this young man named Nicholas Perry.
- 32:48Speaker 5: He was a YouTuber and he was like this vegan violinist, weighed maybe like 120 pounds, and he spent a year trying to grow his audience and nothing happened.
- 32:58Speaker 5: And then, after about a year of failing to get an audience, he recorded himself eating an entire meal and everyone loved him.
- 33:05Speaker 5: They started saying eat this, eat this, eat this.
- 33:07Speaker 5: And before you know it, someone challenged him to eat an entire McDonald's menu and he said he does it Fast forward.
- 33:14Speaker 5: That soft spoken, kind, thin-framed kid is now this brash, overweight YouTube star, and I mean when I say overweight, I mean like it is beyond obesity.
- 33:29Speaker 5: He drives around in like one of those little carts because he can't even walk anymore and his disposition and his personality is just so despicable.
- 33:38Speaker 5: One author online talking about him said the rampant appetite for attention caused the person to be subsumed by the persona, and here's why I'm saying this is because social media pulls out the worst in us and it causes us to mirror and mimic the people who are following us.
- 34:02Speaker 5: And there's, this guy's name is Nickocotto.
- 34:05Speaker 5: There's the Nickocotto of Christianity out there, like I remember there's we're going to follow him, don't do it?
- 34:12Speaker 1: No, I've seen him.
- 34:13Speaker 5: It's heartbreaking.
- 34:14Speaker 5: But there's the Nickocottos of Christianity.
- 34:17Speaker 5: You know, I remember following this very kind, well-balanced, gracious pastor, and he was great, he was winsome, and then one day he just started becoming much more rhetoric, rhetorical, less winsome, more rhetorical, and his following blew up, he became a rhetorical monster.
- 34:41Speaker 5: And so the reason why I'm saying this is that social media isn't just a tool that is waiting for us to use it.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Social media has its own goals, it's got its own means of pursuing them, and social media will transform you, it will change you.
- 34:59Speaker 5: And so my like caution is that not everybody should use social media in that kind of a way, because our souls are not meant to for fame, and when we have an audience, it tends to start to affect us, our motives.
- 35:17Speaker 5: And so I would say this first things first if you're not evangelizing privately, you're not ready to evangelize publicly.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Because Ray is like the person who I know the camera or no camera, the man is preaching the gospel.
- 35:33Speaker 5: I'll show up here and there'll be a painter, and he is the first one to go over there and preach the gospel.
- 35:38Speaker 5: And so if you are, if this isn't incessant in your private life, that that is just what you're doing.
- 35:44Speaker 5: I would caution that maybe you're not ready to do it publicly.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, another angle on that Oscar that's really good is.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You know, sometimes I think we can recognize wow, I've allowed this to become sinful or I've adopted sinful attitude in the midst of it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And you know, there are some people they even have, they have baggage from the past Maybe it was pornography issues or it was whatever and so there are some.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I think that should be extremely cautious.
- 36:15Speaker 1: But then there are those instances where we recognize okay, I can maintain the proper attitude and approach.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I just need to repent of what's in my heart and then approach it.
- 36:27Speaker 1: What do you think of that, Mark?
- 36:28Speaker 1: Just checking ourselves in that regard.
- 36:31Speaker 4: I think that's a great idea.
- 36:32Speaker 4: Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with necessarily putting up a post and then walking away.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Right, you're not seeking after the thing, right?
- 36:41Speaker 4: I mean, check your heart in the midst of that.
- 36:42Speaker 4: And also, I would hesitate telling somebody not to do something public if they're not doing private If they go.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Well, I just wanna post the message, but I'm not sharing the gospel, I'm not going out, I'm not going door to door, I'm not sharing the gospel with a sales clerk.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Well, I can't put it on my Facebook post, you know, because I'm not.
- 37:00Speaker 4: So I just, obviously, you're not saying that.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Right, there's a balance in the midst of it.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I think motive has a lot to do with it as well, but I think that we can overthink our motive in the midst of sharing about it, Something of the mom with two kids and she's busy all day and she feels condemned that she's not witnessing, not getting on the soapbox and preaching.
- 37:18Speaker 2: She just feels she's doing nothing because day after day she's looking after the kids.
- 37:21Speaker 2: But you could have 10 minutes.
- 37:23Speaker 2: You can just jump on the computer and just post a little gospel, Answer somebody or say Jesus is who you need to seek if you want everlasting life.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Just one sentence like that.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Jesus is the only one that the Bible says destroyed death.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So is the only one that destroyed death?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Here's a Bible reference.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think too in keeping with that.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Sometimes we can be doing something and then get convicted to what Oscar's talking about and realize, wow, I'm doing this online, but I'm not sharing in private.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I need to start doing right too, you know.
- 37:55Speaker 2: And then it can embolden you to see someone who's offended by the gospel come back and say something that you can answer and they soften up, like what happened to you.
- 38:03Speaker 2: It can give you courage.
- 38:06Speaker 1: But man, such good points being made by you guys because I've always said this too, in keeping with what Oscar's talking about like, sometimes we get this idea of missionaries I wanna go and be a missionary on the mission field and they're not sharing the gospel at home.
- 38:22Speaker 1: It's like you're a doctor, you know how to help sick people, there's sick people all around you and you're like, oh, I'm gonna go help those sick people over there.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's great, but are you also helping the sick people around you?
- 38:31Speaker 1: And maybe you're heading to be a missionary, but maybe let that conviction set in and say I need to begin to share the gospel.
- 38:38Speaker 1: So I love us just touching on all the different angles on that.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I checked out that guy that you mentioned and I regret even looking at him.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It is so disgusting, and what this sickens me is the people that are feeding him and supporting him Because he's gonna be dead.
- 38:51Speaker 2: He's gonna die young.
- 38:52Speaker 1: It's very tragic and you know he was extremely thin and you wouldn't recognize the before and after.
- 39:01Speaker 1: It's horrific, and what he does is he sits and he'll eat on his YouTube channel who just gorge himself.
- 39:08Speaker 1: This is a big thing that people do now.
- 39:10Speaker 1: It's just crazy.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Yeah, and the problem with him what they would call it's a social dilemma.
- 39:15Speaker 5: It's called audience capture, which means when someone begins to mirror their audience's demands, postures or interests, and so, again, that soft spoken disposition of winsomeness will get you five likes, but that rhetorical, rigid, not winsome you're only gaining the audience that already agrees with you is gonna get you a thousand likes.
- 39:43Speaker 5: And so the reason why I bring that up is because that's a physical representation of our souls when we hand them over to audience capture.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:52Speaker 2: And when he dies, they just move on to someone else to entertain.
- 39:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 39:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 39:56Speaker 1: All right.
- 39:56Speaker 1: So let's get a little more specific of ways people can do it.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Reach their loss through social media.
- 40:03Speaker 1: So YouTube, okay.
- 40:04Speaker 1: So Ray, someone Never heard of it.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So someone wants to do YouTube.
- 40:09Speaker 1: What do you advise they do?
- 40:10Speaker 1: How do you advise them that they start even?
- 40:13Speaker 2: Well, you can.
- 40:13Speaker 2: If you have got the boldness, just go out and say to people can I interview you for YouTube?
- 40:19Speaker 2: And some people will say, yes, people don't realize about it.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Hunting the beach 50 people turn us down to one that comes on camera.
- 40:24Speaker 2: 50 people you have to get used to rejection.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Local college one in 20 will come on camera.
- 40:30Speaker 2: It's just kind of different dynamic, maybe because the dog's there and I've got to know them a little bit and chat with them.
- 40:35Speaker 2: But just say started off with do you think there's an afterlife?
- 40:39Speaker 2: And just record them and put it on YouTube, create your own channel and you can edit.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I edit on iMovie.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Imovie has been oxygen for me as a human being, because I'd sit behind Mark as he was using final cut slow and Mark would do as quick as he could.
- 40:54Speaker 2: But it was just really slow, wasn't it Mark?
- 40:56Speaker 4: I had to render.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to rent.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Oh, I remember the rendering Horrible.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Horrible Render on the Caesar.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Oh, it's terrible, but with iMovie me, someone who's got no skill can edit a movie.
- 41:09Speaker 2: It's true it's just been made for idiots and not for what I do.
- 41:12Speaker 2: I do a lot of editing on it, but it's just for making little family movies.
- 41:17Speaker 2: That's what it's for Show the dog jumping around but it's been wonderful for me and people can do that.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Just learn how to just get a tutorial on YouTube how to use iMovie and you'll learn how to use it in half an hour and you can edit your own movies.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Sound music.
- 41:32Speaker 1: So just go out, just start interviewing people, start a channel, put up a video and just keep doing it and see what happens and praise, say God, please, please, use this, and you never know, some celebrity might stumble on your channel.
- 41:44Speaker 2: share a link or something.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I'm, you're there.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And, in fact, you can use YouTube itself, like you said, ray, to show you how to engage on YouTube, and you can learn how to make videos.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Mark, I'd love you to speak to the social media aspect.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I've always respected how savvy you are on there and how knowledgeable you are, but you'll do like YouTube shorts as an example, or you'll create memes that you'll put up on your different social media platforms.
- 42:11Speaker 1: So how can people do that and be effective?
- 42:14Speaker 4: You'd be surprised how far things go.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I remember putting a meme up on my Facebook page and you have the backdoor analytics you can see, and it said that it reached 14 million people.
- 42:24Speaker 4: 14 million people, that is.
- 42:26Speaker 4: I can't even fathom how big that number is.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I admire the guy that counts them.
- 42:35Speaker 4: So a meme is just a picture with something quaint that's being written on there.
- 42:39Speaker 4: You could do scripture.
- 42:40Speaker 4: You go to your Twitter or your Instagram.
- 42:42Speaker 4: You put quotes and we put scripture on there, and the word of God is living and powerful.
- 42:47Speaker 4: You wanna just encourage people.
- 42:49Speaker 2: And go to YouTube, tells you how to create a meme and you can get the nice little backgrounds and little borders you can make for them, little colors.
- 42:56Speaker 2: It's all very easy.
- 42:57Speaker 4: There's a website that I like to use.
- 42:58Speaker 4: It's called Canva, canvacom, I believe it walks you through on how to create a meme, where you just kind of drag and drop pictures and text and it does all the work for you, and then you just export it and upload it.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Yeah, a cute puppy with a Bible quote that can get people's attention.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Right, yeah, you know, rachel started using Canva years ago and she started a little, just a little Facebook page and then went to Instagram and now she's got about 85,000 followers.
- 43:28Speaker 2: What's it?
- 43:28Speaker 1: called.
- 43:29Speaker 1: It's called Joyful Mothers yeah, joyful mothers.
- 43:32Speaker 1: And she started out doing that and it just grew and grew and grew and God is blessed in.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So, yeah, just canvass, a great, great example.
- 43:40Speaker 5: Full confession.
- 43:41Speaker 5: I'm the only one of the hosts that does not have public social media profile.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Which is kind of funny because you're the youngest and hippest and she'll be talking about that.
- 43:48Speaker 5: It feels like it's so time consuming.
- 43:50Speaker 5: But with that said, I will say I love the way you guys use your time well and it has.
- 43:57Speaker 5: If I was going to start a public social media, it would be in light of how you guys use it, because I do think that you guys use it really really well.
- 44:06Speaker 5: I just need to turn the corner in my mind and just do it as Ray always says Well, you got a name like Oscar.
- 44:13Speaker 2: You're gonna put in a catchy phrase there to call it something.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Oscar the Grouch.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I just came up with that.
- 44:18Speaker 4: You know, Oscar on the couch.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Oscar, just meet me eating.
- 44:21Speaker 2: McDonald's.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Just by reading this, you get an Oscar.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Oscar, you know, years ago I was kind of the same way.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I just didn't.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I never got into social media.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I hated the noise, I felt it was just noise and so but Mark and I talked and we're like man, you know, I'm the president of this ministry.
- 44:36Speaker 1: We're very you know, we're very public ministry on social media and he's like man, you got to do it and I remember you're at my house and Mark just started a Facebook account for me, you know.
- 44:45Speaker 5: And back then he's pushed me to it too.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and I made a commitment.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I said I'm never going to send out a friend request on Facebook to anyone I don't want to get.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I had different reasons for it and I never did.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But then I started my public page, that's you know, got thousands of people now on it and it's a joy to me when I think about how many I can impact and encourage and stir through just the click of a button.
- 45:05Speaker 1: You know so.
- 45:06Speaker 2: And think of this podcast Seriously.
- 45:08Speaker 2: We didn't know what we were doing.
- 45:09Speaker 2: We could hardly figure what a podcast is.
- 45:11Speaker 2: A few years ago, what is a podcast?
- 45:14Speaker 2: And we just did it and people loved it.
- 45:16Speaker 1: That's true, yeah, and now it's one of the top podcasts in the world.
- 45:19Speaker 2: And people are being helped by it.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Believe it or?
- 45:21Speaker 1: not.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been so encouraging and yeah, so even a podcast, right?
- 45:24Speaker 1: Just if there are things that you have burning on your heart to talk about, just start it.
- 45:28Speaker 2: If you've got four brothers and you're a woman, sit down and chat with your four brothers about life and marriage.
- 45:34Speaker 5: If you get some burning on your heart, get some tums, then I love tums Smut, yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 1: So anyway, that's tums backwards.
- 45:42Speaker 1: For those of you that don't know, why did Ray Comfort?
- 45:44Speaker 1: Just randomly say smut, yeah, okay, thank you for clearing that up?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, so I found this online for ideas of how to spread the gospel through social media.
- 45:57Speaker 1: It says share Bible verses on social media.
- 46:01Speaker 1: That's something that's easy to do and there are a lot of you know memes out there that you could just, you know, just take and put on and God's word doesn't return void.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, amen, amen.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Share scripture videos, you know, and also videos that share the gospel.
- 46:16Speaker 1: We have plenty of those, you know.
- 46:18Speaker 1: If you just take our videos and then share them again, people will, they'll see the gospel and they'll hear the truth.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Share sermons that's another way.
- 46:26Speaker 2: And if you're going to share one of our videos, don't say watch this, Say love to know what you think of this.
- 46:31Speaker 2: So we have to appeal to the ego rather than telling them what to do.
- 46:35Speaker 2: I'd love to know, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 46:39Speaker 1: That is something that we've seen works.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I'd love to hear your thoughts.
- 46:43Speaker 1: That's like it's not just hey, watch this, it's like I want to hear back from you.
- 46:45Speaker 1: So they're going to be compelled to check it out.
- 46:48Speaker 1: You could share Bible studies.
- 46:50Speaker 1: You could share daily devotionals, you could share Bible teachings.
- 46:52Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much that you can do, but I think the bottom line is, ray, when your heart is set on obeying the Lord as his disciple to fulfill the Great Commission, god's going to give you creativity as you just take steps and not be perfectionistic, but just do it.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I met a lady on the pier last Saturday and it just threw my heart.
- 47:16Speaker 2: She had a couple of dogs that she had dyed pink.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Seriously.
- 47:21Speaker 2: And it was just food dye that she had used is harmless.
- 47:23Speaker 2: And there's these pink dogs.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Every second step she had to stop while strangers said whoa, pink dogs?
- 47:31Speaker 2: And she was giving out gospel tracks, Wow.
- 47:33Speaker 4: We saw them.
- 47:34Speaker 4: I took my boys down to the church and we saw them as well.
- 47:36Speaker 2: So if you've got a kid, or just dye it pink if you've got a husband.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Dye it pink.
- 47:40Speaker 2: If you've got a husband, dye him pink, put him in a stroller.
- 47:43Speaker 2: People are going to stop you.
- 47:44Speaker 2: But she said she's met so many strangers because those pink dye dogs Wow, my dog died too yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Oh, wow, yeah, I wonder how PETA would respond if they saw her dogs dye pink.
- 47:58Speaker 4: People for eating tasty animals?
- 47:59Speaker 4: Yes.
- 48:01Speaker 1: All right friends.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Well, hey, we hope we've encouraged you to today.
- 48:04Speaker 1: The moral of the story is do something, do something, do something.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Was that one since your show.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Spurgeon oh, it was a Spurgeon, yeah.
- 48:16Speaker 2: And then he said this while society and unions and unions are making constitutions.
- 48:21Speaker 2: I've forgotten how the quote goes.
- 48:23Speaker 2: I see the brick turning.
- 48:26Speaker 1: It's the worst when you get started.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought I knew what was just gone.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 1: All right, friends, don't forget to check out anyone but me.
- 48:34Speaker 1: 10 ways to overcome your fear and be prepared to share the gospel by Ray Comfort.
- 48:38Speaker 1: And don't forget science says Christians live longer than unbelievers.
- 48:42Speaker 1: This booklet will tell you why.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Right conflict Gonna live 400 months, ramp myself in bubble wrap.
- 48:47Speaker 3: You say wherever I go, wherever I go, wherever.
- 48:52Speaker 1: I go All right.
