- 0:54Speaker 4: I am Dracula. I bid you welcome. What's up, and
- 1:05Speaker 4: welcome to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian. I am Misty.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm Marlena.
- 1:11Speaker 4: And welcome to Movie Meltdown's I Gotta Rock Halloween special, so...
- 1:16Speaker 4: I had bottle caps.
- 1:17Speaker 1: They were awesome.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I was trying to decide, you know, what sort of,
- 1:20Speaker 4: you know, crazy, do we have another spooky option? The
- 1:25Speaker 4: spooky special. But I was like, eh.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I got a rock.
- 1:28Speaker 4: If anything sums this up, it's I got a rock.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I had no idea what you guys were talking about.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I think you know it now. No, no, I do.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I was hoping. I was like, what country are you
- 1:40Speaker 4: born in?
- 1:41Speaker 5: Jesus.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Well, on that note, you know, we can't have our
- 1:44Speaker 4: traditional situation without it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Candy. Are we getting rocks?
- 1:49Speaker 4: A big old bunch of rocks.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Am I going to eat candy until I grow up again?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Candy rocks?
- 1:55Speaker 4: Rock candy. Rock candy.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I like how we deciphered this. It took a very
- 2:00Speaker 5: long time. It's just regular candy.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And apples. Chocolate apples. Ooh, Hershey's. I love some milk
- 2:10Speaker 1: chocolate ones. Was there Crackle in there?
- 2:11Speaker 4: I love Crackle.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Ooh, Crackle. They did have Crackle. Ooh, can I have
- 2:15Speaker 1: a Crackle, too? And then a dark chocolate one. See
- 2:19Speaker 1: how I'm beginning to think there's one that's purple? We
- 2:22Speaker 1: did a special, dark special. Okay.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Now take these away from me because I ate way
- 2:26Speaker 5: too much food yesterday.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Aw, damn it. Take one of these.
- 2:30Speaker 4: One of these.
- 2:30Speaker 1: They can't be Halloween.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Without candy corn.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I love these little bowls. My goal and my mission
- 2:38Speaker 1: is that I have eaten candy corn every day thus
- 2:41Speaker 1: far of October. Every day. What's your mission to have?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Not just the candy corn. Are these Brock's or are
- 2:49Speaker 1: these Kroger bread's?
- 2:51Speaker 4: No, I specifically went out of my way to get
- 2:52Speaker 4: Brock's because the Kroger one looked nasty.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But yeah, not only just the candy corns, but I
- 2:57Speaker 1: love the little fucking mallard pumpkins. I don't know what
- 2:59Speaker 1: the fuck they're called, but they're called mallard pumpkins. They're
- 3:01Speaker 1: fucking delicious to me. I found out that I'm not
- 3:03Speaker 1: the only one. My stepdad has to eat them the
- 3:05Speaker 1: exact same way. It's a procedure to eating the pumpkins.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I thought it was just me, but apparently it's not.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Does anybody else have this? I got somebody else eating it.
- 3:14Speaker 4: No.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Do I have to eat the green part first and
- 3:16Speaker 1: then eat it in, like, sections?
- 3:18Speaker 6: Uh-huh.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Not that I'm aware of.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Maybe I put way too much thought into my candy.
- 3:23Speaker 4: No, some candy I'm like that too. Sometimes it's very
- 3:26Speaker 4: much the texture of it and just the way that it,
- 3:29Speaker 4: you know, collapses is my favorite.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Well, when I eat Peeps, I have to peel off
- 3:34Speaker 5: their eyeballs and stuff like that because those taste nasty.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They're Peeps.
- 3:37Speaker 4: The whole thing tastes nasty.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yes, I learned that I'm not just the only one
- 3:41Speaker 1: with a certain technique for the Mallard pumpkins. I love
- 3:45Speaker 1: them damn pumpkins. And the chocolatey candy corns too. Like,
- 3:48Speaker 1: if you get the autumn mix. I like the caramel
- 3:50Speaker 1: apple ones.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Oh, those are disgusting.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I thought I could get used to them. I ate
- 3:54Speaker 1: them for, like, a couple days. I'm like, maybe I
- 3:56Speaker 1: can convince myself I like these. No, I failed. They
- 3:59Speaker 1: were disgusting each time. Although, it's not quite the same
- 4:02Speaker 1: without the pumpkin-shaped Reese's. Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Those are pricey. What do you want?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Well, they had the little ones, too, but the peanut
- 4:09Speaker 1: butter to chocolate ratio is way up on those.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I think just the big ones. Like, the normal size.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I think the smaller ones are a little bit... They're...
- 4:18Speaker 4: Because it's definitely noticeably different on the pumpkin-shaped versus regular
- 4:22Speaker 4: Reese cups, but I don't know about the little one.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's okay. I'm going bike riding after this. I'm going
- 4:26Speaker 1: to eat all this candy. I'm not going to take
- 4:28Speaker 1: a nap after this.
- 4:31Speaker 4: That seems more right.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Up our alley.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I can't help it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I sat in traffic for an hour and a fucking
- 4:37Speaker 1: half to get here, so I'm going to eat my
- 4:38Speaker 1: candy until I throw up, and then I'm going to
- 4:40Speaker 1: go home and take a nap.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I am not responsible for traffic.
- 4:43Speaker 1: All right. Geek Week A.
- 4:45Speaker 4: So anyway, this not only is our creepy, spooky... No,
- 4:51Speaker 4: we can't say spooktacular. That belongs to another show.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Creeptacular?
- 4:55Speaker 4: We'll get called out. Creeptacular, that's good, yeah. So, yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 4: aside from our spooky Halloween episode, it also coincidentally falls
- 5:05Speaker 4: upon our epic 100th episode.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Oh, you know what I meant to do?
- 5:09Speaker 5: I meant to bring, like, little whirligigs that make noise and, like,
- 5:12Speaker 5: little kazoos and stuff.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Just improvise and make the sound effects. That was way wrong.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I don't know why I made that noise. Mine was
- 5:23Speaker 1: even worse.
- 5:23Speaker 4: When you talked about it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: We usually... That's the opposite of what a kazoo sounds like.
- 5:28Speaker 4: We usually get more exciting stuff for what's the buzz
- 5:31Speaker 4: than that. There you go. I don't know what that was.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And this is before being hopped up on candy.
- 5:44Speaker 7: What are you talking about?
- 5:47Speaker 1: You implied that I haven't had candy before.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I got here. I'm saying that I'm responsible for whatever,
- 5:52Speaker 4: you know, crack you do on your own time. Crack
- 5:55Speaker 4: or candy corn, same thing. Dude, seriously.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Eat enough.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I have a problem. Why would you do this to me?
- 6:05Speaker 1: You know I have a candy problem.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Because it's a tradition.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Oh, goodness. Now there's only three of us here and
- 6:13Speaker 1: a shitload of candy, so yeah. No.
- 6:15Speaker 4: We're all going to throw up. Not my fault. Many
- 6:17Speaker 4: of our other people have disappeared. I'm just trying to
- 6:20Speaker 4: decide if, like, creepy Halloween monsters stole them away because, yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 4: several other members of the party I just haven't heard
- 6:27Speaker 4: from in a week, so I'm not really sure what
- 6:28Speaker 4: to think.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They're in a ditch. Could be. There's caramel in these eyeballs.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Holy shit. This one's peanut butter.
- 6:35Speaker 4: There are four different options, I believe.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's peanut butter.
- 6:38Speaker 4: They're also different colored eyes. Isn't that just fucking fascinating?
- 6:42Speaker 1: That's fudge.
- 6:44Speaker 4: All right, we can transition on into this week's geek activities.
- 6:50Speaker 4: If we can control the wrappers away from the mic.
- 6:55Speaker 4: All right, so as for mine, actually a couple of
- 6:58Speaker 4: mines potentially cross into yours, so I'll leave those alone
- 7:02Speaker 4: and see if you come to them, and I can
- 7:03Speaker 4: add something on a few different activities, but... As far
- 7:06Speaker 4: as what I've done other than that, the first one
- 7:10Speaker 4: is horrific as far as I'm concerned. It will definitely
- 7:14Speaker 4: fit in with the Halloween festivities, I guess, because I
- 7:17Speaker 4: find it really sad more than anything. They're tearing down
- 7:21Speaker 4: a piece of my childhood. A huge chunk of my
- 7:25Speaker 4: movie geekdom, actually. The whole early identity of my movie
- 7:30Speaker 4: geekdom is now being leveled. they're again uh this i've
- 7:36Speaker 4: known for a while this uh they're they're tearing down
- 7:38Speaker 4: showcase cinemas which i mean it's been closed for years
- 7:42Speaker 4: but still there was you know i would still pass
- 7:44Speaker 4: by the building the the sign would still be there
- 7:46Speaker 4: yeah it was still sort of there in my memory
- 7:49Speaker 4: you know i i could still remember going there and
- 7:52Speaker 4: seeing stuff but i knew it's been going to be
- 7:54Speaker 4: sold off for years now and i figured they'd turn
- 7:57Speaker 4: it into a terrible strip mall or something horrible but
- 8:00Speaker 4: Now they've decided that it's better to sell the property
- 8:04Speaker 4: if they just level it and sell it as nothing
- 8:06Speaker 4: but property.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It was the first place I ever drove to in Louisville.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Yep, because it was awesome. And it's funny looking at it.
- 8:14Speaker 4: It is definitely the first era of multiplex kicked in
- 8:19Speaker 4: with that. Right around that time, I'm sure every good-sized
- 8:22Speaker 4: city started getting those. So really, for people that are
- 8:25Speaker 4: super hardcore purists for the old-school movie theaters... This is
- 8:30Speaker 4: probably what they consider to be the downfall for them
- 8:33Speaker 4: is when this sort of stuff kicked in. But I
- 8:35Speaker 4: don't know. For me, it was still... It was still...
- 8:38Speaker 4: It's that middle ground area. It's, you know, it's not
- 8:41Speaker 4: the horrible multiplexes that we have now, which, granted, they're
- 8:45Speaker 4: all technically amazing and have stadium seating and all that bullshit, but,
- 8:48Speaker 4: I mean, to me, this was, like... It was also huge. Like,
- 8:52Speaker 4: it's the only screen that was that big in the
- 8:55Speaker 4: entire city, and they still... I haven't been to the
- 8:57Speaker 4: IMAX once here, I don't know, but even those are
- 8:59Speaker 4: probably cheap IMAX, which most theaters have at this point. So, yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 4: it was just... It was amazing at the time to
- 9:06Speaker 4: see stuff on a screen that was that big. And
- 9:09Speaker 4: they had like three of them that were like 70
- 9:11Speaker 4: million or size that were just fucking huge to sit
- 9:14Speaker 4: there and look at. So it really was like the
- 9:17Speaker 4: birth of the movie geek. I saw Star Wars for
- 9:19Speaker 4: the first time in that theater. I went there when
- 9:22Speaker 4: I was way too young and saw Aliens, you know,
- 9:24Speaker 4: when they should have been carding me to see an
- 9:26Speaker 4: R-rated movie. And they weren't. One more reason I kind
- 9:28Speaker 4: of liked them there. So I don't know. It was
- 9:31Speaker 4: just really, it was more of a, oh God. misty's
- 9:34Speaker 4: doing vampire teeth with candy corn we didn't see that
- 9:37Speaker 4: coming i.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Want to take a picture but i'm afraid it'll cause
- 9:44Speaker 5: me to have nightmares.
- 9:45Speaker 4: I'm sorry i interrupted you my sad story.
- 9:50Speaker 7: Oh god you can't keep it too serious come on
- 9:52Speaker 7: oh i know and that's the thing and i'm trying
- 9:55Speaker 7: to yeah i found some sort of you know silver
- 9:57Speaker 7: lining i suppose at the end of this so i
- 9:59Speaker 7: went over there this week, because I was afraid they'd
- 10:01Speaker 7: already done it, because they were showing stuff on the news,
- 10:03Speaker 7: and they've already, like, the back of it is rubble
- 10:05Speaker 7: at this point.
- 10:06Speaker 4: They've started from the back and are moving forward, but
- 10:09Speaker 4: I was like, at least.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Can you bust in there and go steal shit? Is
- 10:11Speaker 1: there anything left to steal?
- 10:12Speaker 4: Probably not much. Again, it's been, you know, dead for
- 10:15Speaker 4: years now, so.
- 10:19Speaker 4: But not not that you know i kind of do
- 10:23Speaker 4: in my head i don't practically but in my head
- 10:26Speaker 4: i would stockpile them for you know thousands of them
- 10:29Speaker 4: anyway that's a whole different story but no i wanted
- 10:32Speaker 4: to i mean actually like a while ago i was
- 10:34Speaker 4: thinking we need to go there and take like photos
- 10:36Speaker 4: even if i was just like hanging out there but
- 10:38Speaker 4: now they fenced it off and you can't get there
- 10:39Speaker 4: so i was like well i can at least go
- 10:40Speaker 4: get a shot of the you know front of the
- 10:42Speaker 4: building because it's still that's the thing for i mean
- 10:45Speaker 4: granted it It wasn't, like, because I am still a
- 10:47Speaker 4: fan of, like, the old school, really old theaters, which
- 10:50Speaker 4: we had a few of that died. Like, the Vogue and,
- 10:53Speaker 4: you know, even Uptown when I was a kid was
- 10:55Speaker 4: still around. So, we had, like, really cool old school, like,
- 10:58Speaker 4: turn of the century theaters that I still, I liked.
- 11:02Speaker 4: But I liked them, like, later when I was a
- 11:03Speaker 4: little older and could appreciate them. But as a kid, like,
- 11:06Speaker 4: what I went to to see movies was Showcase. And
- 11:08Speaker 4: Showcase was, to look at it, I mean, it's a compound.
- 11:11Speaker 4: It's just a huge freaking building, right? But it still,
- 11:14Speaker 4: especially the front part there, it had those little Art
- 11:17Speaker 4: Deco touches to it. The lettering and everything still kind
- 11:20Speaker 4: of looked like the era that it was made in.
- 11:24Speaker 4: It was made probably early 70s. So it definitely reflected
- 11:27Speaker 4: even that time period that is now long since past.
- 11:30Speaker 4: And they don't make stuff even like that anymore. But yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 4: I went and took a few pictures of the front
- 11:35Speaker 4: of it and just tried to get shots without the
- 11:39Speaker 4: fence and the wrecking ball in the way. Did you cry?
- 11:42Speaker 4: Not officially. I was just... You cried on the inside.
- 11:45Speaker 4: A little bit, yeah. I was just sad. And then
- 11:48Speaker 4: I got to... They also had one of those freestanding
- 11:51Speaker 4: big signs out in the front where they used to
- 11:53Speaker 4: have the little slots and you'd actually hang the letters
- 11:56Speaker 4: on it and stuff. So there's always been a weird
- 11:59Speaker 4: door underneath it. And I always kind of wondered... We
- 12:03Speaker 4: used to walk past it and all that stuff as kids.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I always kind of wondered what the hell was in there.
- 12:06Speaker 4: So as I'm out there taking pictures, it's not even
- 12:09Speaker 4: left open. It's standing open. I'm like, okay. So I
- 12:14Speaker 4: kind of peer in and I'm just waiting to see
- 12:17Speaker 4: like random homeless dudes napping in there. Cause I mean, shit,
- 12:19Speaker 4: that's where I go. It was dry. It was covered.
- 12:23Speaker 4: I would have moved in if I was them. So
- 12:25Speaker 4: inside is actually, um, all the, I guess where I
- 12:28Speaker 4: guess they stored all the letters and stuff. So I
- 12:31Speaker 4: have a letter now. I'm pretty excited actually. Well, I
- 12:35Speaker 4: was like, Well, first of all, I didn't want to
- 12:37Speaker 4: get in there too much. Granted, for a second I
- 12:39Speaker 4: was like, I'm going to take them all, but what
- 12:41Speaker 4: the fuck am I going to do with 10,000 letters
- 12:42Speaker 4: that don't go on a sign that I don't have?
- 12:44Speaker 1: You could totally do the whole wall from that.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I would consider it, but that was the thing. I
- 12:49Speaker 4: was like, I just need something. What letter do you take?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Is it a B?
- 12:53Speaker 4: It's a B. I am Grandmaster B. I have to
- 12:57Speaker 4: represent myself. Because I'm an ecomaniac. But again, I was
- 13:02Speaker 4: just looking around. I would have grabbed any, but there
- 13:04Speaker 4: were enough there that was like, okay, that one.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Were they flat ones or were they like the three-dimensional ones?
- 13:09Speaker 4: They're awesome. Do you want to see it?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Okay, hold on.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I got an M from the Vogue.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Really?
- 13:16Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I have a whole shitload of letters from the book.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And I like a whole shitload. Oh, that's pretty cool.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It's pretty freaking awesome.
- 13:26Speaker 5: They sell these at Urban Outfitters for money.
- 13:28Speaker 1: For money?
- 13:29Speaker 4: For a lot of money.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But it has no....
- 13:36Speaker 4: Nostalgic tie to it yeah I have you know for
- 13:39Speaker 4: me it now has sentimental value sad as it seems
- 13:42Speaker 4: that this big plastic letter means something but you know
- 13:45Speaker 4: in my mind you should.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Hang it on the wall it would be awesome you
- 13:47Speaker 1: should hang it on the door right behind you so
- 13:49Speaker 1: that way whenever I look over there it would be
- 13:50Speaker 1: right above your head and that way I never forget who.
- 13:52Speaker 4: You are because you might otherwise.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Dude I had so much sugar in my system right
- 13:56Speaker 1: now I know I was just thinking like wow it's
- 14:00Speaker 1: going to be really sentimental when I start puking up
- 14:02Speaker 1: all this candy that I've.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Eaten that's your own fault No, it isn't.
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know I have a problem with candy.
- 14:08Speaker 4: I've had like a little bit of candy corn. I've
- 14:09Speaker 4: controlled myself so far.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but we can't do that, dude. I'm telling you.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I had like 10 powdered sugar donuts for breakfast and
- 14:15Speaker 1: now I've got all this candy.
- 14:18Speaker 4: That's because you have issues.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I do. I'm a fat kid.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I'll tell you.
- 14:22Speaker 5: I ate so much yesterday, but I'll go into that
- 14:24Speaker 5: a little bit later. But yeah, so today I woke
- 14:27Speaker 5: up early and ran a whole bunch of And now
- 14:30Speaker 5: I just ate a whole bunch of candy.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to have to go run again.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Your whole morning has been pointless and meaningless.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Yay, this is an uplifting episode. Anyway, back to your
- 14:44Speaker 4: mobile story. That was the bulk of it, really, is
- 14:47Speaker 4: that I scammed a letter off of there. I don't know,
- 14:50Speaker 4: I was.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh, she'll get letters for us now. I spelled my
- 14:53Speaker 1: whole name. I'm for it. All of it. Let's do it.
- 14:56Speaker 4: I had to watch it. I mean, I was waiting for, again,
- 14:58Speaker 4: I didn't want to hang out in there too long,
- 14:59Speaker 4: because I really was expecting somebody to, like, creep out
- 15:02Speaker 4: of the corner and be like, get out of my house!
- 15:05Speaker 1: And it would probably be somebody Marlena knew, and she
- 15:08Speaker 1: would probably have a story about it.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Oh, a funny story.
- 15:11Speaker 1: This one time, Bob the Hobo.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Yeah. So, yep, I claimed my B, and, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 4: got the hell out of there. But, yeah, it is
- 15:20Speaker 4: kind of sad that... they're leveling what's left of what
- 15:24Speaker 4: were sort of the even the semi-cool i mean that
- 15:27Speaker 4: one got more and more mainstream and corporate and lame
- 15:30Speaker 4: as the years went on i mean i don't even
- 15:31Speaker 4: know who owned it when i was a kid but
- 15:33Speaker 4: then it became national amusement so basically it was like
- 15:35Speaker 4: every other theater across america and now even what was
- 15:39Speaker 4: national amusements around here just got bought out by another
- 15:42Speaker 4: company so it's all kind of bullshit at this point so.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I guess I never went to that one that much.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I went there a couple of times, but being from Indiana,
- 15:49Speaker 1: we went to the dollar theater.
- 15:50Speaker 4: And a lot more. I went through a couple of those.
- 15:53Speaker 4: One of which is still functional, but yeah, there was,
- 15:55Speaker 4: there's another dollar theater that I went to almost as
- 15:59Speaker 4: much that closed down years ago too. So it's, It's
- 16:01Speaker 4: just sad, because that whole part of the movie-going experience
- 16:04Speaker 4: is kind of dying anyway.
- 16:06Speaker 1: There's not really any movie theaters left in this area.
- 16:08Speaker 6: No, not.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Even Village 8's like $ 4. That's not a fucking dollar theater.
- 16:12Speaker 1: That's a $ 4 fucking dollar theater.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Or even the old ones. I mean, everything that's still
- 16:18Speaker 4: up and running, aside from that one, I guess, has
- 16:21Speaker 4: been in the last 10, 12 years. It's like they're
- 16:24Speaker 4: all brand new theaters, so there's no history to your
- 16:26Speaker 4: movie-going experience anymore. Which is kind of sad, because for me,
- 16:30Speaker 4: there's still so much allure to the old theaters that
- 16:34Speaker 4: I really, I don't know, I kind of love those.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I've had framed versions of these old theaters hanging up
- 16:40Speaker 4: pretty much everywhere I've moved. I haven't gotten to this
- 16:43Speaker 4: part yet. So yeah, I kind of really like the
- 16:46Speaker 4: old theaters. So even to see this one, which was not,
- 16:48Speaker 4: I don't know, it wasn't even as cool as those,
- 16:51Speaker 4: but again, just such a huge part of my growing up,
- 16:54Speaker 4: going to the movies, is it's now going to be,
- 16:56Speaker 4: you know, rubble in the middle of a parking lot
- 16:59Speaker 4: so that's kind of.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Sad i know the first movie that i remember seeing
- 17:02Speaker 1: in a theater was what ernest goes to camp at
- 17:06Speaker 1: the dollar theater with my grandma and aaron and we
- 17:11Speaker 1: got in trouble imagine and we could not have ice
- 17:14Speaker 1: cream later that night none of this surprises me at
- 17:17Speaker 1: all yeah not so much is aaron your cousin that
- 17:19Speaker 1: died yes one of one of your cousins that died yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 8: Sad story i know stevie died too this is an
- 17:31Speaker 8: uplifting episode anyway so.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Story about aaron moon in a church that was pretty
- 17:37Speaker 1: funny while it was going on and the pastor lady
- 17:41Speaker 1: was like up there preaching her hellfire and stuff like
- 17:44Speaker 1: that and aaron just walked up moon or like a
- 17:46Speaker 1: teenager I'd say it was maybe 11, 12, if that.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 17:52Speaker 1: But yeah, it was a small church, so I know
- 17:54Speaker 1: she saw it. And it's one thing if it's in
- 17:57Speaker 1: a neighborhood that you wouldn't be recognized, but it was
- 17:59Speaker 1: a small little fucking neighborhood. I'm like, there's no way
- 18:01Speaker 1: she didn't know whose tiny white.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Ass that was. Dude, seriously. That was a tiny church.
- 18:05Speaker 4: You pointed it out before. It was a room.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's about the size of this room.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yep. Wow.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Good times.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Well, there are church pews in this room. We could
- 18:16Speaker 5: have a church if we wanted.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Hallelujah.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Only if I get to be tax exempt.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Only if I get the money from the.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Collection.
- 18:24Speaker 1: The money tray. I don't go to church. Fuck, I
- 18:25Speaker 1: don't know what it's called.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I'm a heathen.
- 18:29Speaker 1: My sister's a priest. She knows this.
- 18:30Speaker 4: We all know you're a heathen. It's okay. So, okay,
- 18:34Speaker 4: moving on from that. The only thing I really watched
- 18:37Speaker 4: aside from this week's movie, I watched The Brothers Bloom. Which,
- 18:41Speaker 4: have you seen that?
- 18:42Speaker 1: I've seen that.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty awesome. It's just... impressively put together really
- 18:47Speaker 4: it's uh it's ryan johnson that directed it which i
- 18:51Speaker 4: like what he's done so far anyway and then just
- 18:54Speaker 4: visually it's impressive structurally the way he planned everything out
- 18:58Speaker 4: is pretty impressive so it's yeah it's if you haven't
- 19:01Speaker 4: seen it it'd be one i'd be willing to watch
- 19:03Speaker 4: and discuss somewhere down the line so.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I wanted to like it more than i did but
- 19:06Speaker 5: it was still enjoyable that was kind of my thing.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Boom boom oh god she's yeah she's awesome but yeah
- 19:13Speaker 4: i mean i kind of had that i i i
- 19:15Speaker 4: think I was more impressed with it than I was.
- 19:18Speaker 4: I liked it. You know, it's like that. I liked
- 19:20Speaker 4: what he did, but then like story wise, it's pretty basic.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Like it doesn't feel like it really totally delivers. It
- 19:27Speaker 4: gives you three fourths of it, but you know, it's
- 19:29Speaker 4: such a simple story. Otherwise it, which it seems like
- 19:32Speaker 4: it would be super complicated with, you know, it's all
- 19:34Speaker 4: about these grifters and you know, their whole crazy plot.
- 19:37Speaker 4: But really in the end, it's like, it's a very
- 19:40Speaker 4: basic story going on.
- 19:41Speaker 5: The plot just didn't, follow through so well and you
- 19:44Speaker 5: know there was like a big twist at the end
- 19:46Speaker 5: and it didn't have the impact that I felt that
- 19:48Speaker 5: it should have.
- 19:48Speaker 4: I wasn't even sure if that was a to be
- 19:50Speaker 4: a twist i don't know i was just kind of like.
- 19:52Speaker 5: It was confusing towards the end you're just like.
- 19:54Speaker 4: What what are they doing now so yeah but again
- 19:58Speaker 4: i give him more credit for just trying to do
- 20:01Speaker 4: that much i mean he really took a lot in
- 20:03Speaker 4: with that one and just Visually, it looks good. I think,
- 20:06Speaker 4: you know, him working in the music and just all
- 20:09Speaker 4: the other aspects that come into it are actually more
- 20:11Speaker 4: impressive than almost the finished product. So it's still definitely
- 20:14Speaker 4: worth watching. That's the most of what I've done these
- 20:19Speaker 4: past couple weeks.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It's my turn?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Sure.
- 20:22Speaker 1: All right, I only watched, me and Jay watched the movie.
- 20:25Speaker 1: We watched Iron Man 2, which is honestly, which is
- 20:28Speaker 1: way too fucking long. and there could have been parts
- 20:31Speaker 1: that could have been cut, and that would involve any
- 20:34Speaker 1: part that hit Gwyneth Paltrow's face.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Or Scarlett Johansson, because she didn't do anything.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I like Scarlett, though.
- 20:40Speaker 4: She's hot.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I like her. I can at least watch her, but
- 20:42Speaker 1: Gwyneth and her face, and she talks. Oh, my God,
- 20:45Speaker 1: this table probably acts better than her, but it's just atrocious,
- 20:49Speaker 1: her acting. I don't understand how she gets paid to
- 20:53Speaker 1: do this. I love her in Royal Tenenbaums. Yeah, I've
- 20:55Speaker 1: never seen that movie. I really had a desire to,
- 20:57Speaker 1: because I don't, didn't it have like the Wilsons in it,
- 20:59Speaker 1: Owen Wilson, or whatever his face is with the jaw. Yeah,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but he had a beard, so. I don't like beards.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought he was insanely hot with the beard,
- 21:07Speaker 5: and then he shaved it, and I was like, aw.
- 21:09Speaker 1: He has his face, you want to like stick one
- 21:11Speaker 1: of those plain sander things, and just like chisel some
- 21:14Speaker 1: of that shit off.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 4: I've thought that for a while, actually.
- 21:17Speaker 1: But with the beard, he's like a.
- 21:19Speaker 4: And while we're at it, can we find some, like,
- 21:21Speaker 4: putty to fix up Owen's nose? Because something ain't right there.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You need to take a chisel and, like, a.
- 21:27Speaker 5: They just need to visit a plastic surgeon. They need
- 21:29Speaker 5: to have family visits to the plastic surgeon.
- 21:32Speaker 4: So many celebrities.
- 21:32Speaker 1: You can get, like, family discounts if you go down there.
- 21:34Speaker 4: So many celebrities that don't need plastic surgery get it,
- 21:37Speaker 4: but you've got these two guys, which are kind of,
- 21:39Speaker 4: you know, leading men, at least B-level celebrities, that, like,
- 21:43Speaker 4: Both of them have really odd-looking faces. It's very strange.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I mean, that's their signature, though. It is.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I understand it, but it's still weird that, like, some
- 21:51Speaker 4: people go so far out of their way to change
- 21:53Speaker 4: the way they look, even though they look fine, whereas
- 21:56Speaker 4: you've got these guys that are pretty secure with themselves, really,
- 21:58Speaker 4: and I guess I give them credit for that. They're
- 22:00Speaker 4: just like, ah, fuck it. This is the way my
- 22:01Speaker 4: nose looks. Start the movie.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Who cares?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah. But anyways, yeah, the movie just seemed too long
- 22:05Speaker 1: to me. Iron Man, it was just so long, and...
- 22:09Speaker 1: There was not enough Mickey Rourke in his crazy-ass shit.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I love me some Mickey Rourke. I don't know what
- 22:13Speaker 1: the deal is. That's one of those. He had some
- 22:16Speaker 1: plastic surgery. It's a big old fucking train wreck, but
- 22:18Speaker 1: I kind of like him still. I'm pretty proud of him.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He's made it back. He's a bigger name to me
- 22:23Speaker 1: now that he's all jacked up looking.
- 22:26Speaker 4: He's probably getting bigger roles than he did even when
- 22:28Speaker 4: he was popular. He was a pretty well-known actor back
- 22:31Speaker 4: in the day, but he still wasn't really pulling in
- 22:33Speaker 4: huge movies.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I like when actors make big comebacks, and they're better
- 22:38Speaker 1: than before. Robert Downey Jr. is one of them, of course.
- 22:41Speaker 1: He's very hit and miss with me. I like him
- 22:43Speaker 1: in some things.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Yeah, but you can't deny he's in every movie they
- 22:47Speaker 5: put out. He's like an A-list. He's like the top
- 22:49Speaker 5: of the top, which is funny because he's so unattractive.
- 22:51Speaker 1: He's such an asshole.
- 22:53Speaker 4: And he was so down and out for years, like
- 22:55Speaker 4: that middle part of his career. He was lucky to
- 22:58Speaker 4: be on Ally McBeal.
- 22:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I mean, he was still kind of acting consistently, but
- 23:01Speaker 4: it was all straight-to-DVD stuff and stuff that really was
- 23:05Speaker 4: just kind of not impressive. And then all of a sudden,
- 23:08Speaker 4: it just... back to the A-list. That's pretty impressive.
- 23:11Speaker 1: But yeah, other than that, I didn't actually watch anything movie-wise.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I've been going back. I've been watching Gleeks. Apparently I
- 23:17Speaker 1: fucking like it now. I've been drawn in.
- 23:19Speaker 4: I can't help it.
- 23:20Speaker 1: The fucking teacher's hot. I can't help it.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Mr.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Schuster is fucking hot. He's babe.
- 23:27Speaker 7: He is.
- 23:27Speaker 1: He's totally strong. The show's alright. I've Netflixed the first season,
- 23:32Speaker 1: so I've been watching that. I like the way Emma
- 23:34Speaker 1: dresses Or whatever her name is. Little red-haired teacher. Yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: being a redhead, she's okay.
- 23:41Speaker 5: She doesn't have freckles.
- 23:44Speaker 1: That makes her okay. Yeah, the way she dresses is
- 23:46Speaker 1: so cute. She's pretty adorable. But yeah, other than that,
- 23:50Speaker 1: I didn't watch anything out of the ordinary. Just regular
- 23:53Speaker 1: same old TV shit that I talk about every week.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that again. But other than that,
- 23:57Speaker 1: yesterday I went to the Peddler's Mall and I bought
- 24:00Speaker 1: the Hangman box edition that has Vincent Price on the box.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It's pretty fucking awesome.
- 24:06Speaker 4: I still get points for IDing it while you were
- 24:08Speaker 4: talking to me. You were like, oh, look, hang on
- 24:10Speaker 4: a minute. I was like, is that the cool box
- 24:11Speaker 4: with Vincent Price on it?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Hell yeah, I got to buy that shit. And then
- 24:15Speaker 1: I was pretty excited. I bought me a original still
- 24:17Speaker 1: on the package Ben Cooper gizmo costume like the plastic
- 24:22Speaker 1: like the face mask you know it's like my 1984
- 24:25Speaker 1: so you have like a little plastic mask and the
- 24:27Speaker 1: nice little rubbery costume that just has a picture of
- 24:30Speaker 1: the character on it and makes you look like the
- 24:32Speaker 1: character that's pretty excited i got that so And the
- 24:35Speaker 1: lady at the checkout asked me, he's like, so I said,
- 24:36Speaker 1: did you smell for probably? Because, you know, I'm a
- 24:38Speaker 1: boyfriend and his kid's standing right there.
- 24:40Speaker 4: And I just looked at her, me?
- 24:41Speaker 5: Me.
- 24:42Speaker 4: And she's like, oh. It might fit. Shut up.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's a child size small. If I just stretch it
- 24:49Speaker 1: a little bit, it'll be okay.
- 24:50Speaker 4: I can allow on it.
- 24:51Speaker 5: You should have told her, like, no one. It's going
- 24:54Speaker 5: on a shelf and no one's ever going to touch it.
- 24:56Speaker 5: It's never coming out of the plastic ever.
- 24:58Speaker 4: So if anybody needs one, let's see. They had the, uh.
- 25:01Speaker 4: The Bigfoot one was still there.
- 25:02Speaker 1: It was still in the package.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Wait a minute. I might need a Bigfoot. It was.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Like $ 15. $ 15, but it's still in the package.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Is it a specific Bigfoot from something, or it's just
- 25:13Speaker 4: a generalized? It's just a Ben Cooper's edition. Interesting.
- 25:17Speaker 1: The box itself was cool because it had all the
- 25:19Speaker 1: monsters on it. It had the creature, and it had Wolfman,
- 25:23Speaker 1: all of.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Them on the packaging. I might need to go look
- 25:27Speaker 4: for that.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah. And they had a Farrah Fawcett, too.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Wow. That's awesome.
- 25:32Speaker 1: They had Farrah Fawcett and Barbie and Smurfette.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Smurfette.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I was sheer on one year, but I think we
- 25:40Speaker 1: borrowed the mask, so I didn't get to keep it. Bastard. Sadness.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I would totally rock that on a regular basis if
- 25:47Speaker 1: I still had it.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I can see you sitting around the house watching TV.
- 25:49Speaker 6: With it on.
- 25:49Speaker 1: There'd be tons of Facebook photos.
- 25:51Speaker 4: There would be, totally.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Me with the mask and the little sword. That was
- 25:56Speaker 1: my Facebook picture for a while. It was me as
- 25:58Speaker 1: a kid with the costume. It was my costume that
- 26:01Speaker 1: my grandma made for me. It didn't actually look like
- 26:03Speaker 1: She-Ra's costume whatsoever. It involved Christmas garland, but that's okay.
- 26:08Speaker 4: I had a few of those homemade costumes, some of
- 26:11Speaker 4: which were awesome, some of which not exact.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Well, your mom's forte was making specialty birthday cakes for
- 26:18Speaker 5: you guys.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I've seen the pictures. I made you a Boba Fett
- 26:21Speaker 1: one once out of pastel colors because we couldn't find
- 26:24Speaker 1: the right colors. I made you a Day of the
- 26:26Speaker 1: Dead cake once.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Yes, both of these ones.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And more excitingly, I know it's an update to some
- 26:32Speaker 1: out there, I did in fact find my Dukes of
- 26:35Speaker 1: Hazzard lunchbox, so yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 4: I know they were worried.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I know, I'm telling you. I can call off the
- 26:42Speaker 1: bounty that I had on my cousin's head that I
- 26:44Speaker 1: thought they stole my lunchbox and sold it, but apparently
- 26:46Speaker 1: it was at my mom's house the whole time.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Too bad. We've already killed two of your cousins. Sorry.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Dude, seriously, she probably wouldn't even notice. There's so damn
- 26:55Speaker 1: many of them.
- 26:56Speaker 4: That's true. Does she even keep track of the names anymore?
- 26:59Speaker 4: Or are they just numbers? 7, 13, get over here.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I don't know which ones are which, dude. I can't tell.
- 27:03Speaker 1: They're all too fucking close. I mean, Derek, Darren, Derek, Devin, Kevin, Carl. Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: just fuck that shit up. Come on now.
- 27:10Speaker 4: And Maria. Oh, poor Maria.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Oh, goodness.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Okay, I think that's all I have. Okay.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Gosh, this is going to take forever.
- 27:20Speaker 5: I have an insanely large geek week, because it's actually
- 27:23Speaker 5: two weeks, because I wasn't here last week.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Okay, I've seen a lot of shows. Brian was there
- 27:28Speaker 1: for this one. We saw Dark, Dark, Dark.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Yep, that was one of mine.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Which is a.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Really amazing band, but they had released a new CD
- 27:36Speaker 5: that day, which I thought this was strange. Like, you
- 27:39Speaker 5: don't play songs from your new CD because no one
- 27:42Speaker 5: cares because no one's heard it.
- 27:43Speaker 4: No, but that's how musicians are. It's all about the
- 27:47Speaker 4: new music. You kind of don't want to play the
- 27:50Speaker 4: old stuff, and then fans make you. Yeah, I know. Exactly.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Pissy fans are just like, play what I know, bitch.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Well, I mean, it would have been okay.
- 27:59Speaker 5: No, it would have been okay if they played like
- 28:01Speaker 5: 50% new stuff and 50% old stuff.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And it's not old stuff.
- 28:05Speaker 5: It's like they released an album like a year ago,
- 28:07Speaker 5: you know? And it's not like they can't have shows
- 28:10Speaker 5: in the future where people have had a chance to
- 28:12Speaker 5: buy the album and listen to it.
- 28:14Speaker 4: You should have bought it and then while those other
- 28:15Speaker 4: bands were playing in the beginning and ran home and
- 28:17Speaker 4: listened to it and then like.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I just realized my little eyeball when it's taken out
- 28:22Speaker 1: of its shell looks like the.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Looks like what? I don't remember what it's called.
- 28:27Speaker 1: The Death Star? That's what I said, but I wanted
- 28:30Speaker 1: to make sure I got it right. But yeah, if
- 28:32Speaker 1: you look at it, it's tilted just right.
- 28:34Speaker 4: That's no moon. It has a little hole in it.
- 28:38Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I'm interrupting everybody's geeky fun. That's okay.
- 28:41Speaker 5: But it was a good show, but everyone sat on
- 28:44Speaker 5: the floor while it happened.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I was kind of weirded out by that. I've
- 28:49Speaker 4: been to a lot of shows and I've never seen
- 28:51Speaker 4: everybody sit down on the floor. I've seen one random
- 28:55Speaker 4: weirdo off to the side maybe or up against the wall,
- 28:57Speaker 4: but this was like... third grade assembly like everybody sat
- 29:01Speaker 4: indian style it felt like.
- 29:02Speaker 5: Children's story hour yeah it really made us all so
- 29:05Speaker 5: sleepy we're just like.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Can't handle this i'm pretty sure it's how the one
- 29:08Speaker 1: harry and the potter show we went to yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 4: That's just because it was like 900 degrees and they
- 29:12Speaker 4: were all passing out at that point but yeah hot
- 29:15Speaker 4: in there this time no it was weird but they
- 29:18Speaker 4: were yeah they're kind of impressive they're a very rich
- 29:21Speaker 4: sounding band they have a lot of crazy instruments Layered
- 29:25Speaker 4: over each other, so... All of their.
- 29:26Speaker 5: I'll have to get you one of their older CDs,
- 29:28Speaker 5: because it's more fast-paced and fun. They played, like, their slow... Like,
- 29:32Speaker 5: it just felt like Cat Power with accordions for, like,
- 29:35Speaker 5: two hours.
- 29:36Speaker 4: It was very moody, which is fine. That's usually what
- 29:38Speaker 4: I like, is... creepy dark moody crap she.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Has like one of the most she's just the most
- 29:45Speaker 5: amazingly musically talented person i think i've ever seen in
- 29:48Speaker 5: my life her voice is amazing she can play everything
- 29:50Speaker 5: she can play piano she can play accordion she can
- 29:52Speaker 5: play guitar.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Or whatever you know she can pick anything up and
- 29:55Speaker 1: play it.
- 29:56Speaker 5: And plus like She's so, like, adorably.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Quirky and weird.
- 30:00Speaker 4: She's dorky, let's face it.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Yeah, she would, like, when no bands were playing, she wouldn't, like,
- 30:06Speaker 5: you know, she didn't do the typical, like, run around
- 30:08Speaker 5: and talk to people and be social.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She, like, sat on the steps outside of the venue
- 30:11Speaker 1: and read a book. I was like, look how cute
- 30:14Speaker 1: she is.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I don't know, probably some, like, ridiculously pretentious book, but,
- 30:17Speaker 5: I mean.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Some sort of philosophy book.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I bet it had big words in it, didn't it?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Big words, no pictures.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Big words, but printed really small. Yeah. Fuckers. Not like
- 30:27Speaker 4: an easy-to-read book like I like. No, like, choose your
- 30:30Speaker 4: own adventure. There was no.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Choosing your own adventure in that one at all. There
- 30:34Speaker 1: was no pop-up pages.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Nietzsche says turn to page 131.
- 30:37Speaker 9: Those are the kind of books I like to read.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Choose your own adventure philosophy. Choose your own philosophy. Choose
- 30:45Speaker 4: your own way that your brain is jacked up.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Oh.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I've betrayed Russell's pop-up book.
- 30:52Speaker 4: That'd be amazing.
- 30:54Speaker 5: But anyway, and then Friday, I went to see Eddie,
- 30:58Speaker 5: The Empires.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I was going to say something, but then I changed
- 31:01Speaker 1: my mind. About him having pretty eyes? He's got very
- 31:04Speaker 1: pretty eyes.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I was going to say it if that made it better.
- 31:06Speaker 4: I was going to finish your thought.
- 31:08Speaker 8: Huh?
- 31:09Speaker 1: You told me I couldn't say that anymore. Ryan did? No,
- 31:12Speaker 1: you told me I couldn't say that anymore. Did I?
- 31:14Speaker 4: Yes. Oh.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Well, because you were worried about being creepy, and then
- 31:18Speaker 1: I was like, well, just don't say it anymore. You
- 31:20Speaker 1: can still say it. I'm not worried about being creepy.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Maybe you're worried about.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Me being creepy.
- 31:24Speaker 8: Maybe.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Well, yeah, for people who haven't listened to every episode,
- 31:29Speaker 4: an occasional co-host here, we've roped him in at least
- 31:32Speaker 4: twice now. So sometimes we, you know, the downside is
- 31:36Speaker 4: he's never in one city for more than one day.
- 31:38Speaker 4: So unless he hits right at the right day, which
- 31:41Speaker 4: is only the one time he's been playing here, on
- 31:43Speaker 4: the day that we record, two times now. So, yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 4: But we always like having Eddie on.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Eddie's fun. He's a good guy. And he gave
- 31:50Speaker 1: me a CD, which is nice. I want to borrow it.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Can I get a copy of it? No, I asked him.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I was like, can I give this to Brian? He's like, yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: make copies for all your friends.
- 31:59Speaker 4: I don't care. I already gave him money for a CD.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Only I got the digital download. I'm moving into the
- 32:03Speaker 4: 21st century.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But, um....
- 32:07Speaker 5: Eddie's another one of those people that are very, that's
- 32:09Speaker 5: very talented, of course, because now he has no drummer.
- 32:12Speaker 5: So it's just him singing, playing guitar and drumming at
- 32:15Speaker 5: the same time.
- 32:16Speaker 1: He's like, I can't walk and chew gum. I know
- 32:18Speaker 1: it's like a one man band. That's amazing.
- 32:21Speaker 5: And, uh, the other bands that played that night were
- 32:23Speaker 5: really good. Uh, I was with a friend and, uh,
- 32:28Speaker 5: one of the opening acts was someone from Bloomington, which
- 32:31Speaker 5: I think is where Eddie is from or where he
- 32:33Speaker 5: lives at least. And, uh, The story started off was like,
- 32:39Speaker 5: they're like, when I first met this guy, he was
- 32:41Speaker 5: passed out by my car with his head under the tires.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Sounds like one of your stories. This is, it was Damon.
- 32:48Speaker 5: This is why we like worked for so long is
- 32:50Speaker 5: because he had these kinds of stories and I had
- 32:52Speaker 5: these kinds of stories. Mine, his are way crazier than
- 32:55Speaker 5: mine though. I mean, when I first met him, I
- 32:57Speaker 5: thought he was a pathological liar just because his stories
- 32:59Speaker 5: were so ridiculous, but they were true.
- 33:01Speaker 8: All of them.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Every single one of them.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Yeah, because he probably has a death wish. He's upset. Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 4: The really downside to his stories.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 1: But, yeah, that was a good show.
- 33:12Speaker 5: And then the next day, I saw Poki Lafarge, who
- 33:16Speaker 5: has my best friend, who hasn't had anything to do
- 33:18Speaker 5: with this show, but you interviewed him for the magazine.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I've considered seeing if he wants to watch some sort
- 33:24Speaker 4: of crazy pokey movie.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:26Speaker 4: If we ever talk to him. Will he be my
- 33:28Speaker 4: best friend?
- 33:29Speaker 1: I hope so, because he is so handsome. My best
- 33:32Speaker 1: friend in the whole wide world. His name I can
- 33:33Speaker 1: hardly ever remember.
- 33:34Speaker 7: Ryan.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't realize that Ryan was in the band, actually.
- 33:38Speaker 5: And then it was like, Ryan on Harmonica or whatever.
- 33:41Speaker 5: And I was like, oh, my God, it's Misty's best friend, Ryan.
- 33:43Speaker 5: And then we haven't seen Ryan in almost five years.
- 33:46Speaker 1: And he was like, oh, my God, I haven't seen
- 33:48Speaker 1: you since that time you all came to St. Louis.
- 33:50Speaker 1: And it's just like... Dude, how did you remember? I
- 33:52Speaker 1: thought you were drunk. I know.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I had to call Misty and tell her because he
- 33:56Speaker 5: told several people that Misty was his.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Best friend, even though we've only met him maybe three
- 33:59Speaker 1: or four times.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Is it even that many? It's like twice.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah, twice.
- 34:03Speaker 1: We went to dinner with him once. Did we? Was
- 34:05Speaker 1: he there? Yeah, he was there. I don't remember. In Indianapolis.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Aw.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but my best friend is apparently not very memorable.
- 34:12Speaker 4: You're going to make Ryan cry.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I'm joking with, like, he don't listen to this show.
- 34:17Speaker 1: What the fuck do I care?
- 34:18Speaker 6: You don't know.
- 34:19Speaker 4: He doesn't have a computer. If he knew you were
- 34:21Speaker 4: on here, he would be listening to this show because
- 34:23Speaker 4: his best friend is on.
- 34:25Speaker 1: He is my best friend.
- 34:26Speaker 4: According to him.
- 34:27Speaker 6: Yes.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I remember Ryan. Of course, I remember him being there.
- 34:31Speaker 6: Yes.
- 34:34Speaker 4: You didn't take a look on it.
- 34:36Speaker 5: And then Sunday I saw The Mystery of Irma Vip
- 34:40Speaker 5: which was hilarious. Two actors playing like I don't know,
- 34:45Speaker 5: a dozen characters each.
- 34:46Speaker 1: It was funny. It was quippy.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Ooh, there was this point in the play where they
- 34:51Speaker 5: go to Egypt, and this, like, dead mummy princess comes out,
- 34:55Speaker 5: and they all dance through her in Egyptian costumes.
- 34:57Speaker 1: It was so exciting. I was so happy. Did you
- 34:59Speaker 1: join in? I wanted to, in my chair. I was like.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it was awesome.
- 35:06Speaker 5: Oh, and then afterwards, my friend and I, we went
- 35:09Speaker 5: to a bar, and I met a guy who looked
- 35:11Speaker 5: exactly like Heath Ledger. Exactly like Heath Ledger, but he
- 35:15Speaker 5: was British. No, like a living Heath Ledger, but British.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Not like a zombie Heath Ledger, because it would be awesome.
- 35:20Speaker 4: That would be pretty cool, too.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we were excited about that.
- 35:24Speaker 5: And we didn't want to tell him to his face,
- 35:26Speaker 5: because we're like, well, he probably gets that all the time.
- 35:28Speaker 1: We don't want to give him a big head.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Or make him OD. Yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Or live near an Olsen.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Probably all those things.
- 35:38Speaker 4: We're getting near Michelle Williams.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Ew.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Never mind. I was going to rant about something, but
- 35:43Speaker 1: that's okay. Fucking Michelle. They're casting her as fucking Marilyn
- 35:46Speaker 1: Monroe in the new biopic. Fucking Michelle Williams. Does she
- 35:49Speaker 1: look anything like Marilyn Monroe? No, she doesn't fucking look
- 35:51Speaker 1: anything like Marilyn Monroe. She's kind of frumpy. Yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Very frumpy. She's not Marilyn Monroe.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Marilyn Monroe was gorgeous. She was fucking one of the
- 35:58Speaker 1: most beautiful women ever. And you're going to put fucking
- 36:00Speaker 1: Michelle Williams?
- 36:03Speaker 3: Ugh!
- 36:03Speaker 1: Fucker. Weird.
- 36:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm on board for being angry, because I... Yeah,
- 36:07Speaker 4: I've never been a big, huge fan of hers anyway, but...
- 36:11Speaker 4: I don't know. That definitely doesn't fit Marilyn at all.
- 36:13Speaker 1: She doesn't have the right attitude. All right, I interrupted
- 36:16Speaker 1: your story all over again. That's okay.
- 36:17Speaker 5: You know, I have all this stuff in my Geek Week,
- 36:19Speaker 5: but it's not coming out as exciting. I'm just telling
- 36:23Speaker 5: these stories, and they're not exciting or funny or anything
- 36:26Speaker 5: like that.
- 36:26Speaker 4: You're excited about them.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm excited, but I'm... I'm excited for you.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Normally, I can tell a story about... something stupid and
- 36:34Speaker 1: it's maybe because there's only three of us here maybe and.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Maybe it's because i'm tired but yeah and i went
- 36:39Speaker 5: to harvest homecoming which nobody anywhere else other than southern
- 36:42Speaker 5: indiana knows or gives a fuck what that is i'm.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Sure basically every town has some version.
- 36:47Speaker 5: Of basically it's this awesome festival where all these like
- 36:50Speaker 5: boy scouts and like The masons and I don't know.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Crazy church groups.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Whoever has a club or a church or group, AA
- 36:58Speaker 5: people and stuff, they get together and they get a
- 37:00Speaker 5: booth and they make food and it's delicious and it's awesome.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, I noticed. I found the best chicken
- 37:05Speaker 1: and dumplings that were homemade. I was mad because there
- 37:07Speaker 1: was no fucking bison chili. Anybody is my friend on Facebook.
- 37:11Speaker 1: No one will like me some bison chili. But there
- 37:13Speaker 1: was no fucking chili. There was no chili whatsoever at
- 37:15Speaker 1: the entire place.
- 37:16Speaker 6: I was mad.
- 37:17Speaker 4: I had Cuban food.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I got hugged by a random kid. I did not.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I was distracted. I was eating my chicken and dumplings.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I was sitting on the ground. The dad walked by
- 37:27Speaker 1: and said something about a tattoo. And I was talking
- 37:28Speaker 1: and eating. And this little kid just walked over and
- 37:31Speaker 1: hugged me. And I was like, okay. Who lets their
- 37:35Speaker 1: kid go up and hug a random stranger sitting in
- 37:38Speaker 1: a dark alley by herself eating chicken and dumplings? Really?
- 37:41Speaker 4: That's bad parenting. Stranger danger. Yeah, really. I don't know.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Was this related to the little girl that tried to
- 37:47Speaker 4: attack me in that alley? That was a different time.
- 37:51Speaker 1: That was the same place. We were sitting in that
- 37:52Speaker 1: exact same place. Apparently it draws the weirdos.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Weird little kids.
- 37:57Speaker 1: She's going to attack you with her butterfly wand or something.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Yeah, they finally, and I said this while we were
- 38:03Speaker 4: sitting there, it was like for years they've been selling
- 38:05Speaker 4: these like giant inflatable swords and giant inflatable hammers for
- 38:08Speaker 4: little boys to go beat the hell out of each other.
- 38:09Speaker 4: And they like, they were missing this whole other half
- 38:11Speaker 4: of the market of giant inflatable something for the girls.
- 38:14Speaker 4: So now they've made like some sort of giant butterfly thing.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Butterfly on a stick. Yeah, but basically she was, and
- 38:21Speaker 4: her brother had the other version. He had like a
- 38:23Speaker 4: hammer or something, so they were just, she was using
- 38:25Speaker 4: it the way any child would. They were hitting each
- 38:27Speaker 4: other with it.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And she came after you, apparently. Did you look at
- 38:30Speaker 1: her crossways?
- 38:31Speaker 4: Well, bitch was moving in my personal space. So, yeah,
- 38:37Speaker 4: she gave me this look like she was going to
- 38:38Speaker 4: go after me.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Then she did.
- 38:39Speaker 4: She kind of stepped up a little bit. I know.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I was like, don't make me punch you, child. So, yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 4: I did not hit the child in the alley.
- 38:48Speaker 1: I did not pummel the child that hugged me.
- 38:51Speaker 4: I was just caught too unaware.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I was just like, really? Did that just happen? I
- 38:55Speaker 1: pummeled zero children in the last... I had to text people. Like, dude,
- 38:58Speaker 1: I just got hugged by a random kid. I had
- 39:00Speaker 1: to call Brian.
- 39:01Speaker 4: She did. I was just like, are you okay? Do
- 39:04Speaker 4: you need counseling?
- 39:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to Facebook it as soon as I
- 39:07Speaker 1: got home. Yeah, I know. I had to tell everybody.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Make sure nobody... Nobody got hurt. Yeah.
- 39:13Speaker 4: This time.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Scary.
- 39:14Speaker 4: This time. If he'd been a redhead, it'd been all off.
- 39:19Speaker 1: But anyways.
- 39:20Speaker 5: but um yeah so Harvest Homecoming and then what else
- 39:25Speaker 5: did I do what else did I do oh not
- 39:27Speaker 5: movie-related at.
- 39:28Speaker 1: All, but I would like to get people's.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Is there anything you've done?
- 39:31Speaker 1: A lot of it is, like, entertainment-related.
- 39:33Speaker 4: This is generalized geek week. It's all good.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Okay, so I would like to get people's opinions on this.
- 39:41Speaker 5: I was riding my bike with a friend last Tuesday,
- 39:46Speaker 5: I think it was. And we ride this path along
- 39:50Speaker 5: the Ohio River on.
- 39:51Speaker 1: The flood wall.
- 39:52Speaker 5: And there was this big black thing sitting in the road.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Was it a man bear pig? It was a man
- 39:58Speaker 1: bear pig? That's what I think it was. I'm dead serious.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Is there a spherical object or is it in the road?
- 40:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 5: But we rode past it. And I was like, what
- 40:07Speaker 5: was that? Was that an animal? And he was like,
- 40:08Speaker 5: I don't know. I think it was. But it was
- 40:11Speaker 5: real still. And then we ride past it again. And
- 40:15Speaker 5: we see a deer standing really close to it.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Are they friends?
- 40:18Speaker 4: I don't know. Did it become a Disney movie at
- 40:21Speaker 4: this point?
- 40:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 5: I was like, but the thing in the road had moved.
- 40:24Speaker 5: It had been about 15 minutes since we passed it,
- 40:26Speaker 5: which is weird for an animal.
- 40:27Speaker 1: To like sit. Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Let me get to that too.
- 40:32Speaker 5: So it had moved.
- 40:34Speaker 4: This is creepy.
- 40:35Speaker 5: It had moved like to the middle of the little road.
- 40:38Speaker 5: It was like a little trail that's by the forest.
- 40:40Speaker 5: There's like a forest, but there was a deer there.
- 40:43Speaker 5: So I was like, go, go see what that is.
- 40:47Speaker 5: He was like, okay. And, uh, it was like maybe
- 40:51Speaker 5: 10 feet away from the deer. And he started to
- 40:53Speaker 5: go down there and the deer ran away. And then
- 40:55Speaker 5: that thing moved. Like it was tall. It was like
- 40:58Speaker 5: big and boxy and it walked on four legs, but
- 41:01Speaker 5: it moved away really slow. Like, But it had the
- 41:04Speaker 5: movement of a deer. And we were just like, what
- 41:06Speaker 5: the fuck was that? And you didn't take pictures of it?
- 41:09Speaker 1: I know you had your phone on you. It was
- 41:10Speaker 1: so dark. You could, I mean, there's no.
- 41:12Speaker 4: You have night vision on that thing?
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah, no.
- 41:14Speaker 5: I don't even have a flash. I need to get
- 41:15Speaker 5: a new iPhone. But it was so dark you couldn't
- 41:17Speaker 5: even see what it was. You could just make out
- 41:19Speaker 5: the shape of it. And it was like too tall
- 41:22Speaker 5: and too calm to be any type of dog. And
- 41:25Speaker 5: too bulky, too. But also too dark. It was like
- 41:28Speaker 5: solid black. Too dark to be a deer. Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 3: But.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Is it a homeless man?
- 41:32Speaker 1: No, it was... A fat, drunken homeless man? It walked
- 41:34Speaker 1: on four legs.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Again.
- 41:35Speaker 4: Was it a fat, drunken homeless man? That doesn't rule
- 41:38Speaker 4: it out. It could have been.
- 41:39Speaker 5: But, yeah, we, like, could not figure out what it was.
- 41:42Speaker 5: I mean, it couldn't have been a beaver. It couldn't
- 41:43Speaker 5: have been anything that.
- 41:44Speaker 1: It was big. I mean, it would have come up
- 41:46Speaker 1: to our waist.
- 41:47Speaker 5: And it couldn't have been anything aggressive because a deer
- 41:49Speaker 5: probably wouldn't have just stood beside it and.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Like, you know. But, I mean, like, it really.
- 41:55Speaker 5: And I know there's no bears in Jeffersonville, Indiana, but
- 41:58Speaker 5: it really legitimately resembled a small black bear. And we
- 42:03Speaker 5: were like, what is it? So we've been talking about
- 42:06Speaker 5: cryptids all week and figuring it out. I was, like, Googling, like,
- 42:09Speaker 5: animals of the Ohio River.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Well, did you see the one that crawled out of
- 42:13Speaker 4: that cave? Like, I don't remember where that was. Like,
- 42:15Speaker 4: on the beach, and the kids, like, peed with a stick,
- 42:17Speaker 4: and they took pictures of it.
- 42:18Speaker 1: The Montauk Monster?
- 42:20Speaker 4: No, see, they were referring to it as that, but
- 42:21Speaker 4: it looks different than that.
- 42:23Speaker 1: The thing with the beak on its face, like this.
- 42:25Speaker 4: It was like a, like a, it was, they kept
- 42:28Speaker 4: saying maybe it was, like, a misformed sloth or something.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I think it's fake, really, but it's what the internet does.
- 42:33Speaker 1: But, I mean, you know, it's like, this wasn't, like,
- 42:35Speaker 1: a dead, like.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Sewn up science project it was a moving animal that
- 42:42Speaker 5: we saw move it was too dark for us to
- 42:44Speaker 5: make out what it was but it was like the
- 42:46Speaker 5: size and the shape and the color that we could
- 42:48Speaker 5: make out it doesn't fit anything there's no pictures it
- 42:51Speaker 5: didn't happen yeah at.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Any point did you hear patrick duffy talking that's you
- 42:55Speaker 4: know it might be scuttlebutt we made that.
- 42:57Speaker 5: Joke too because you know obviously it was it was
- 43:00Speaker 5: andrew who rides the bikes and he is like a
- 43:02Speaker 5: huge south park fan And we were.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Like, it's scuttlebutt. It's man-bam-pig. But it was probably, it
- 43:08Speaker 1: could have been.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 43:09Speaker 5: But I Googled later that night because I was like so.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Like, weirded out. Like, what the hell could that have been?
- 43:16Speaker 1: You know?
- 43:16Speaker 5: Like, when you see an animal that does not make
- 43:19Speaker 5: any sense, that's, like, so out of place, you're just like,
- 43:21Speaker 5: what the fuck?
- 43:22Speaker 1: What did I just see? It was really weird and scary.
- 43:25Speaker 5: But I Googled it, and there is, like, a story
- 43:27Speaker 5: of this escaped, like, giant sloth in the Ohio River Valley.
- 43:32Speaker 1: And I was like, that's what it was.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Does it have a crazy name? It really should.
- 43:35Speaker 1: It was just, like, the something giant sloth. But, I mean, it's, like,
- 43:39Speaker 1: a fake thing, but.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and then that got me looking at this website
- 43:43Speaker 5: of cryptids and stuff, which I don't think it was
- 43:45Speaker 5: a cryptid. It was probably some weird animal that I
- 43:48Speaker 5: just can't.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Think of what it is.
- 43:49Speaker 5: But it was just very weird to see it, especially
- 43:53Speaker 5: that close to a deer.
- 43:54Speaker 1: It was weird to see a deer in the first place.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yeah, deers don't really mess around with anything. They're just skittish.
- 43:59Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. That's what I was... it was, I don't know.
- 44:02Speaker 5: I don't know what it could have been. Cause it
- 44:04Speaker 5: was sitting on the ground too. Deers don't like sit
- 44:06Speaker 5: down and chill out and it got.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Up the way, you know, this is all very, very weird.
- 44:12Speaker 5: But yeah. Anyway, um, to the movies I've watched. Oh,
- 44:17Speaker 5: so many, so, so many. Um, after we watched, uh,
- 44:22Speaker 5: bad seed a couple of weeks ago, I was on
- 44:25Speaker 5: this unintentional, like suicide movie marathon.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Nice.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Cause, uh, spoiler alert i watched uh right.
- 44:33Speaker 5: After that i went to my mom's house to do
- 44:35Speaker 5: my laundry and stay there because well yeah it does
- 44:39Speaker 5: but no i went to do laundry i can't watch
- 44:41Speaker 5: scary movies in my house by myself so i went
- 44:44Speaker 5: to do laundry at my mom's house and i watched
- 44:46Speaker 5: um house of the.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Devil in the trailer for better idea yeah i hated that.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Movie yeah i know you hate it that's what brian
- 44:52Speaker 5: was saying you hated it But I liked it. But yeah,
- 44:55Speaker 5: she like shoots herself.
- 44:56Speaker 6: In the end.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And I was just like, wow.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Spoiler alert.
- 44:59Speaker 1: I know, I already said spoiler alert.
- 45:00Speaker 5: I was like, wow, that just happened in a movie
- 45:03Speaker 5: I watched yesterday. So I was like, oh, I'll watch
- 45:06Speaker 5: something else. And I picked Clay Pigeons, which is a
- 45:09Speaker 5: great movie. And I actually love Vince Vaughn in that movie.
- 45:12Speaker 4: I remember the box art for it. I don't think
- 45:14Speaker 4: I've ever actually watched it in its entirety. But for
- 45:17Speaker 4: some reason, I remember the box for it.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It is a hilarious and good movie.
- 45:21Speaker 4: I love it.
- 45:21Speaker 5: But yeah, Vince Vaughn, actually, I don't like Vince Vaughn.
- 45:24Speaker 5: But I loved him in that movie.
- 45:26Speaker 4: He's hitting this. I mean, sometimes he's amazing at his
- 45:29Speaker 4: annoying performances. And sometimes he's just annoying.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Well, I like more like old Vince Vaughn.
- 45:34Speaker 5: This was like 95 or 96 or something like that.
- 45:36Speaker 4: But even then, sometimes he was just annoying.
- 45:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:39Speaker 5: Yeah, and someone shoots, spoiler alert, someone shoots themselves at
- 45:42Speaker 5: the opening scene of that movie, and I'm like, what
- 45:44Speaker 5: the fuck? Seriously, I was trying to watch something a
- 45:47Speaker 5: little bit more upbeat. I didn't, well, I read it,
- 45:50Speaker 5: I knew what it was about, I could have picked
- 45:52Speaker 5: a better choice.
- 45:54Speaker 1: But, um. You should watch The Room. The Room? Is
- 45:58Speaker 1: it depressing? I don't know, I just know it's some
- 46:00Speaker 1: guy shooting himself in the face.
- 46:02Speaker 8: Eh.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Well, I played the game, I didn't watch the movie.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I just read it for you.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 46:07Speaker 1: That's okay. No, it's a shitty movie.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Don't watch it.
- 46:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 1: But, uh, uh, let's see. I watched some other things.
- 46:14Speaker 5: Oh, it took me a really long time to watch
- 46:17Speaker 5: Waiting for Guffman.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I have like, and it's a good movie. It's hilarious.
- 46:21Speaker 1: But every night I would.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Put it on and like fall asleep like 10 minutes later.
- 46:26Speaker 5: So it took me like five nights of like 20
- 46:30Speaker 5: minute or so slightly less increments of watching that damn
- 46:34Speaker 5: movie to get through it.
- 46:34Speaker 1: It was crazy.
- 46:36Speaker 5: Uh let's see i also watched um uh shiver which
- 46:40Speaker 5: is a really good spanish movie uh it's if you
- 46:44Speaker 5: liked um left the right one and i think people
- 46:46Speaker 5: would really enjoy this.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Movie it's on my netflix yeah it's good you.
- 46:50Speaker 5: Should watch it uh let's see i watched party girl
- 46:54Speaker 5: that was okay but okay this is what i really
- 46:58Speaker 5: wanted to talk about last night i went to the
- 47:00Speaker 5: drive-ins because they were having a like triple feature And
- 47:06Speaker 5: I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 47:08Speaker 1: And Gunnar. And that big Halloween extravaganza.
- 47:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Gunnar Hansen was there. He's always somewhere. Yeah, he's always.
- 47:13Speaker 1: It wasn't a big deal.
- 47:15Speaker 2: But.
- 47:15Speaker 4: And Grandpa. And Grandpa was there. Grandpa will come to
- 47:18Speaker 4: your house.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I got his autograph for free last time.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Yeah, no. He gave us his autograph for free. That's
- 47:22Speaker 4: not really telling you what he's. He's worked these days.
- 47:25Speaker 4: No offense to Grandpa, but, I mean, he really does
- 47:27Speaker 4: show up at, like, kids' birthday parties.
- 47:29Speaker 1: As long as it wasn't one of the shiny photos.
- 47:30Speaker 1: If it was one of the shiny photos, you got
- 47:32Speaker 1: paid for that one.
- 47:32Speaker 4: Yeah. I did not pick a shiny photo.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Me neither.
- 47:36Speaker 5: But, yeah, Gunnar Hansen was there, and then next we
- 47:39Speaker 5: watched Devil, which was, like, M.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Night Shyamalan. It wasn't so great. He didn't even direct that, though.
- 47:47Speaker 4: He didn't?
- 47:47Speaker 5: No.
- 47:48Speaker 4: He just produced it. He handed it off. It's basically
- 47:51Speaker 4: what our movie today did. It had someone sort of
- 47:54Speaker 4: guiding the series, and he gave it to another director
- 47:57Speaker 4: to do.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Anyway, he touched it with his suck.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously.
- 48:00Speaker 1: He touched it with his suck and killed it.
- 48:04Speaker 4: He put his M. Night Funk all over it.
- 48:06Speaker 5: But one good thing about that movie, Jeremiah got a
- 48:10Speaker 5: funnel cake, and we just all ended up eating it.
- 48:13Speaker 1: He got none of it.
- 48:14Speaker 4: No funnel cake for him.
- 48:15Speaker 1: No funnel cake. but um he's lost some weight you
- 48:18Speaker 1: don't need a funnel cake have you seen.
- 48:21Speaker 5: His car no it's a 65 mustang i don't think
- 48:23Speaker 5: i've seen pictures yeah yeah but um and then house
- 48:27Speaker 5: of a thousand corpses played and that was awesome but
- 48:30Speaker 5: this is let me tell you what i ate yesterday
- 48:32Speaker 5: so we stood in line and i got a pizza
- 48:35Speaker 5: and i ate three pieces of pizza and then i
- 48:37Speaker 5: went stood in a different line and i got mozzarella
- 48:39Speaker 5: sticks and a candy bar.
- 48:42Speaker 1: And No deep-fried candy bars?
- 48:44Speaker 11: No.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Did you have anything deep-fried whatsoever?
- 48:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Are you sure? What was it?
- 48:48Speaker 1: Mozzarella sticks, pickles, and chicken fries. Did you have anything
- 48:52Speaker 1: deep-fried that wouldn't normally be deep-fried? No. Because then you
- 48:55Speaker 1: know it's a party.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Oh.
- 48:57Speaker 5: We were all, it was just girls for the most part,
- 48:59Speaker 5: and we were all like, it's okay.
- 49:00Speaker 1: It's at the drive-ins. It doesn't count. It's a special occasion. But, so, yeah.
- 49:05Speaker 5: I ate three pieces of pizza, a fried pickle, like
- 49:08Speaker 5: a fried pickle spear. Like three mozzarella sticks and something
- 49:14Speaker 5: else that was totally unhealthy.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Oh, a hot dog. I ate a hot dog. And
- 49:17Speaker 1: then I ate a funnel cake. I thought I was
- 49:19Speaker 1: going to die.
- 49:20Speaker 9: Gonna die that sounds dirty I know wow but yeah
- 49:26Speaker 9: so I ran into my fake brother and I was
- 49:29Speaker 9: like is that really Jeremiah's car and he was like
- 49:31Speaker 9: yeah I was like I would totally marry him for
- 49:33Speaker 9: that car And of course he tells him.
- 49:36Speaker 4: I'm like, thanks. That sounds like your fake brother.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Thanks for making this situation awkward. So you were hanging
- 49:43Speaker 1: out with your fake brother and my fake cousin, so
- 49:45Speaker 1: the whole fake family goes. Yeah, I know.
- 49:47Speaker 4: You guys have a lot of family.
- 49:50Speaker 1: But it was exciting.
- 49:51Speaker 5: I was really glad that I got to go. It
- 49:53Speaker 5: was fucking freezing. I almost lost my toes in this process. Yeah,
- 49:59Speaker 5: but it was awesome. And we didn't even sneak any
- 50:01Speaker 5: alcohol into the drive-in, but we had a good time anyway.
- 50:03Speaker 4: I'm very proud of you.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I still have scars from the last time I went
- 50:07Speaker 1: to the drive-in theater. I fell down a hill. On
- 50:10Speaker 1: my knees. With my cousin on my shoulders. I didn't
- 50:13Speaker 1: drop him, though, because he was my favorite cousin. If
- 50:14Speaker 1: it had been my other cousin, his ass would have
- 50:16Speaker 1: gone flying.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Nice.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Good.
- 50:19Speaker 8: Wow.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Sex.
- 50:22Speaker 5: I really feel, now that you mentioned that someone said
- 50:25Speaker 5: our episode was lackluster, I feel like.
- 50:29Speaker 1: This wouldn't be any better.
- 50:30Speaker 6: No.
- 50:30Speaker 1: No.
- 50:31Speaker 5: I was, like, geared up. I'm like, yeah, I've got
- 50:34Speaker 5: all these stories. But they just came out as, like, not.
- 50:38Speaker 5: It wasn't my typical storytelling fashion.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I think it's because they're lacking in numbers. The more
- 50:43Speaker 1: there are, the more you get all warmed up, the
- 50:44Speaker 1: more you get excited for it.
- 50:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 50:47Speaker 1: And the less tired I am. I did go to
- 50:49Speaker 1: bed at, like, 5 in the morning.
- 50:50Speaker 4: Me too.
- 50:51Speaker 1: And then I had to wake up and watch this
- 50:53Speaker 1: week's movie.
- 50:54Speaker 6: Yay.
- 50:55Speaker 1: And I slept in part of it.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Nice. Okay, so did I. Oh, Lord. So does that
- 51:01Speaker 4: round out the geek week? Yeah.
- 51:05Speaker 1: By extremely long, but uninteresting geek week. That's all right.
- 51:07Speaker 1: You're making up for everybody else who's not here.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 51:10Speaker 1: It was very long. I mean, like, I did a
- 51:12Speaker 1: whole shit ton.
- 51:13Speaker 4: That's all right.
- 51:13Speaker 1: There was no Joni and Roger and Jada talks. I know.
- 51:15Speaker 5: I did a whole shit ton of stuff. And I, actually,
- 51:18Speaker 5: I've been trying to go see Dracula for, like, a
- 51:20Speaker 5: month now.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Dracula.
- 51:21Speaker 5: But every single fucking time, it's sold out. Or, like,
- 51:25Speaker 5: I have to surprise work or something.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Like... When I'm Dracula, you best be cute.
- 51:30Speaker 5: When I'm Dracula. I feel like a Dracula right now.
- 51:34Speaker 5: I feel like sunlight.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Not my friend. I just.
- 51:37Speaker 4: I want.
- 51:40Speaker 1: To go live in a cave.
- 51:41Speaker 4: Maybe you can live with that crazy man-pair pig.
- 51:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Maybe you can go live in that place that has
- 51:46Speaker 1: all the letters.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. Until they bulldoze it, that thing is
- 51:50Speaker 4: up for grabs.
- 51:51Speaker 5: I feel like I would be there while they bulldozed it,
- 51:53Speaker 5: and I would just be stuck under there.
- 51:54Speaker 1: And I would, like, mutate.
- 51:56Speaker 5: To my surroundings, and, you know, like, my eyeballs would
- 51:58Speaker 5: fall out, and I'd just become.
- 52:00Speaker 1: We've got some candy ones we can shove in there.
- 52:02Speaker 6: Huh?
- 52:02Speaker 1: We've got some candy ones we can shove in there. Yes.
- 52:05Speaker 4: Please don't match it all.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Like, the descent.
- 52:07Speaker 4: I'll at least give you matching eyeballs. No, you can
- 52:09Speaker 4: do the David Bowie thing. It's cool. Yeah.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Not on the brown one. You know, like, in the descent,
- 52:13Speaker 1: where they, like, mutate, and that would be... I love
- 52:15Speaker 1: that movie.
- 52:16Speaker 5: I know.
- 52:16Speaker 1: It was a great movie.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Well, throw us out a couple more letters when it,
- 52:19Speaker 4: you know, caves in. I want an M.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Give me an M. Give me a B.
- 52:24Speaker 4: Give me a B.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 52:26Speaker 4: All right, so I guess that rounds out our Horrific
- 52:29Speaker 4: Geek Room.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Eeyore.
- 52:34Speaker 4: All right, we will take a break and be back
- 52:37Speaker 4: with What's the Boss?
- 52:40Speaker 11: Thinking of all the cool creatures that I will meet
- 52:46Speaker 11: on this night. Ghosts and goblins and witches roaming the
- 52:52Speaker 11: streets in moonlight.
- 52:57Speaker 6: Bowls of candy and goodies Delicious and waiting.
- 53:03Speaker 4: In store.
- 53:05Speaker 6: The sound of cute little footsteps As they approach my
- 53:11Speaker 6: front door Letting the children inside to drink beers Razor
- 53:18Speaker 6: blades hidden in three musketeers Screams from the basement of
- 53:24Speaker 6: kids Begging to be set free That's what Halloween means.
- 53:30Speaker 4: To me.
- 53:39Speaker 6: Tightening the clamps that are holding Their little heads so tight.
- 53:47Speaker 11: Putting my lips to their ears As I whisper, please,
- 53:52Speaker 11: don't fight I promise I'll let you go home if
- 53:57Speaker 11: you swear not to tell a soul.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Well, I'll just untie these.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I'm kidding.
- 54:06Speaker 4: Now, where is my chainsaw? Let's rock and roll.
- 54:11Speaker 11: A pinch of your brother, a teaspoon of you.
- 54:14Speaker 4: With the head.
- 54:16Speaker 6: Of your sister would make a good stew.
- 54:19Speaker 4: I give you a taste, but.
- 54:21Speaker 6: Your tongue's in the stew.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Irony.
- 54:24Speaker 11: That's what Halloween means to me.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Golden, pure, creamery butter. Rich, flavorful, satisfying.
- 54:34Speaker 1: That's what it takes for the finest.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Buttered popcorn, and that's what we use.
- 54:38Speaker 2: See for yourself why there's no showtime.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Treat to equal the crisp, delicious.
- 54:42Speaker 10: Flavor of hot popcorn that's bathed in real melted butter.
- 54:46Speaker 4: It's at the concession stand now.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Have you ever walked through a graveyard late at night
- 54:52Speaker 3: and seen a coffin open?
- 54:53Speaker 2: Have you ever thought what it would be like to
- 54:56Speaker 2: see a person's head amputated?
- 54:58Speaker 3: Think of things so horrible that the human mind cannot
- 55:01Speaker 3: imagine them.
- 55:02Speaker 2: See all this and more when you see on stage,
- 55:05Speaker 2: in person.
- 55:05Speaker 3: That crazy mixed-up Dr. Evil and his pairs of the unknown.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Unlike anything that you've ever seen or heard of in
- 55:12Speaker 2: the past.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Hideous creatures from beyond the grave leave the stage and
- 55:15Speaker 3: grab girls right out of their seats.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Girls, do not come alone. Bring your boyfriend to protect
- 55:20Speaker 2: you when the lights go out.
- 55:22Speaker 3: You may find a live snake or rat under your seat.
- 55:25Speaker 2: A real dead body is given away to some lucky
- 55:29Speaker 2: person at every performance. In person, the mummy and King Kong,
- 55:33Speaker 2: famous Hollywood.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Gorilla, real and alive. Plus, on the screen, two horrific
- 55:37Speaker 3: motion pictures.
- 55:38Speaker 5: Dr.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Evil and his tears of the unknown.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Plus, two horrific pictures.
- 55:48Speaker 2: In person, on stage, first time here, three all-new Super
- 55:54Speaker 2: Shock shows. Stage show number one, From Beyond the Grave.
- 56:00Speaker 2: It's Dr. Evil and his Tears.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Of the Unknown.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Unlike anything you have ever seen before, the theater is
- 56:09Speaker 2: turned into a graveyard. Your seats become coffins. Weird creatures
- 56:14Speaker 2: sit next to you and put their cold, clammy hands
- 56:18Speaker 2: around your throat and whisper things in your ears. Live
- 56:22Speaker 2: snakes roam up and down the aisles and human monsters
- 56:26Speaker 2: run loose in the audience and cut off the heads
- 56:29Speaker 2: of beautiful girls. It's weird and unbelievable.
- 56:33Speaker 4: Pusk!
- 56:34Speaker 2: Stage show number two. See in person the mummy and
- 56:40Speaker 2: King Kong. Famous Hollywood gorilla. Real and alive. We can't
- 56:46Speaker 2: advertise what the mummy does when he grabs beautiful slave
- 56:50Speaker 2: girls and the lights go out. But wow, something you
- 56:55Speaker 2: never dreamt you'd see anywhere. Warning, girls should not come alone.
- 57:02Speaker 2: You will have nightmares for a week. However, the theater
- 57:05Speaker 2: management will stop the show any time it becomes too scary.
- 57:10Speaker 2: All on stage, in person, plus a horrific screen program.
- 57:16Speaker 4: ¶ ¶ Hello, creeps. It's me, the Crypt Keeper. And
- 57:27Speaker 4: you're listening to Movie Meltdown, the greatest movie geek show
- 57:31Speaker 4: on Earth. I wouldn't change places with anyone tonight.
- 57:51Speaker 10: We'll carve pumpkin faces And watch the witches flight Every
- 58:02Speaker 10: human heart will.
- 58:04Speaker 12: Shudder Every soul will shake with.
- 58:09Speaker 13: Fear Tonight the creepiest Tonight, the scariest.
- 58:22Speaker 10: Tonight, the most wonderful night.
- 58:32Speaker 4: The end.
- 58:50Speaker 10: Anything can happen on Halloween.
- 58:53Speaker 12: Your dog could turn into a cat. There may be
- 58:58Speaker 12: a toad in your bass guitar. Or your sister could
- 59:02Speaker 12: turn into a bat.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw you with the General Lee.
- 59:06Speaker 4: That was a pretty good song.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what did I say about the General Lee?
- 59:08Speaker 1: I got my picture with the General Lee before.
- 59:10Speaker 4: At the car show.
- 59:11Speaker 1: It was pretty awesome. Leatherface?
- 59:12Speaker 5: Oh, see, look, I've got all these stories. Now I've
- 59:15Speaker 5: got all these stories that are hilarious. Leatherface kept stalking us,
- 59:19Speaker 5: but not like an, oh, I'm trying to scare you.
- 59:21Speaker 1: It was more like a, oh, I'm trying to hit
- 59:24Speaker 1: on you. It was really weird.
- 59:27Speaker 4: That's a whole different kind of scary.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Which one's Leatherface? Is he the one we always see
- 59:31Speaker 1: at the conventions with the hand glove things on?
- 59:34Speaker 5: Leatherface is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Who's the one we always see with the hand things on?
- 59:38Speaker 1: He's always like... I gotta have my gloves on when
- 59:40Speaker 1: I autograph stuff.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Oh, God. No, that's Jason. That's Kane Hodder.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I couldn't remember which dude it was. It wasn't actually Gunner.
- 59:47Speaker 4: No, it wasn't Gunner. It's Kane Hodder, yeah.
- 59:51Speaker 1: I was just trying to figure out which one was
- 59:52Speaker 1: the one who always had to have his special autograph
- 59:54Speaker 1: gloves on.
- 59:54Speaker 4: Because he seems douchey.
- 59:56Speaker 1: Yeah. He seems like a big douche. But yeah, he
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: wasn't like, ah, I'm trying to be scary. He was
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: just like... So, what are you girls doing here? Can
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I have some of your funnel cake? Yeah.
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: And he was like, are those.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: I see you have funnel cake.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: He's like, are those real tattoos on your foot or
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: those henna tattoos?
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: Well, this is a guy that got hired by a drive-in.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: It's not like they have the highest standards, obviously. I
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: was disappointed.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Jeremiah told me that Cooter was going to be there
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: sometime over the summer and he was not there, so.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: Oh, and I forgot to talk about at the drive-in,
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: the trailers in between the movies were fucking awesome. They
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: had this, like, whole separate van that had, like, trailers.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: And they had, like, Godzilla and, like, Night of the
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: Living Dead and, like.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: I didn't want to tell you, but that was my
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: trailer van. I just drive around and show trailers to people. Old,
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: cool trailers.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Actually, that seems like a pretty good.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Job to me.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: It does. All right. Let's wrap it up, then. We're done.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Time for the buzz.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: Buzz.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Alright, we're back with What's the Buzz?
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: What is the buzz? Tell me what's happening.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: After weeks of speculation and reports about various directors for
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: the Superman reboot, which we even mentioned before, I didn't
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: know if you'd actually heard this, Misty.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I think I did, but I blocked it off.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: It's directed at least one of your favorite movies. Warner
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Brothers has chosen to go with someone who's already worked
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: on two other comic book adaptations, Zack Snyder.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I like Zack Snyder. He did the L movie. I
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: love the L movie.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: That was half the reason I thought we should talk
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: about it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I read that, but I totally forgot. But then
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: I remembered, so yay for me.
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: So, yeah, again, I don't know if that's a bad idea.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: He can't do any worse than the last one.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: It's just, yeah, I mean, we've already seen him dealing
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: with flying people and superheroes, so now it's just instead
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: of owls, it'll be Superman, and instead of, like, you know,
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: the comedian, it'll be Superman not being a jackass the
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: whole time. So, I don't know. I mean, I think
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: that might be hardest for him to grasp is, I mean,
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: all of this stuff is... kind of dark and all
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: the characters are I mean Superman is so bright and
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: shiny that I mean when you come from Watchmen and
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: 300 and Dawn of the Dead it's like I don't
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: know that that I mean I think the action he
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: can handle I think the you know the whole overall
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: structure of the movie he can but yeah I think
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: if anything I don't know it would be hard to
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: keep it clean you know everything he seems to touch
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: gets kind of a little grimy along the way so
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: I don't know I don't know if he can deal
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: with that level of what Superman's at least known for,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: but maybe they're trying to change that. Maybe they're trying
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: to have a grimy super dark night up the Superman.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: So I don't know, but yep. I thought that was
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: kind of interesting.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Although James Cameron has had many successes, his two biggest
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: hits have been Titanic and Avatar. Both blockbuster hits that
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: achieved four-quadrant success by combining both flashy visual effects that
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: appeal to the guys while having romantic stories that appeal
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: to the girls. Well, now the director has reported in
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: talks with Sony Pictures about possibly directing another very big-budget
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: movie that is sort of the potential of repeating that
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: same strategy, Cleopatra. Based on the Stacy Schiff book, Cleopatra Alife,
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: this project would be the first time James Cameron went
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: back in history more than 100 years. I guess. I
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: don't know why they need to get that specific about this.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: I guess he's known for his futuristic stories.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Titanic's one of them future stories.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: You didn't see at the end when the boat transformed
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: into a big, you know, Optimus. Never mind.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Big thing at the bottom of the ocean that was
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: put turned.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: Into no it's a giant robot that's the twist at
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: the end okay he joined up with him night show
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: however james cameron's possible involvement is not the only big
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: name in the story as angelina jolie is attached to
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: star as cleopatra oh god i don't think that's bad
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: actually i mean she seems i think it's almost like
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: It's too perfect a cast.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: It's almost like, personally, personality-wise, she seems like she kind
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: of fits with Cleopatra. I don't know about acting or
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: any of that. I think just in her real life,
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: she sort of seems like Cleopatra. Oh, Lord.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Maybe she's Cleopatra's incarnate.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: No!
- 1:04:35Speaker 13: Oh, God.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: I promise I'm not drunk. I mean, like, I make
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: it sound like I'm drunk all the time, but I'm
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: really not.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: Oh, Lord. Well, she is, let's see, truly reportedly has
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: a lifelong fascination with the Egyptian monarch. So, see, maybe
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: it's because it's her great-grandmother. Great many times over.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I don't know. Was Cleopatra a baby hoarder?
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: I don't know. Is she the one that snatched that
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: baby out.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Of the river?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Wait, that was Moses.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Oh. They were buds, though, right?
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: They hung out, you know. Moses and Cleopatra, they used
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: to hang together.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: They kicked it. They hooked up on occasion.
- 1:05:20Speaker 13: Booty call!
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: You know what I heard? I heard that Cleopatra kept
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: a jar full of bees beside her bed as a vibrator.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Doesn't sound very efficient, but whatever. I don't know, a
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: jar full of like a thousand bees buzzing. But they're
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: still little bees. I don't know. There were no batteries
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: back in the day.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: Were there jars?
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Yeah, there were jars.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Were there jars in like vases? Did they have glass?
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Was it screw top? Did it say Jif on the top?
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: It could have.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I was not there. And I just heard about this
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: from someone. I didn't research it. I didn't write a
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: paper on it.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: Jesus.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: I think you should.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Leave me alone.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: This sounds fascinating.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I'm sure PETA would have been all on her ass
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: about that.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: Not if they tried it. They might change their mind. Oh, gosh.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: So, yeah, she is supposedly quoted as saying, I haven't
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: done a historical epic of that nature, and she's always
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: been fascinating to me because I feel like as much
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: as her story has been done big, it's never been
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: done accurately. And she is all about some accuracy.
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: So, yeah, they did mention that she was sort of
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: an Alexander, but I guess she wasn't the star. So
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: they were pointing out she made an error in her
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: own little quote there. So they have big plans for Cleopatra,
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: which possibly include filming in 3D, which may be why
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: they're in talks with James Cameron.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Oh, God, those lips in 3D. Good God.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. That's what you want. Oh, God.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I wish sometimes people could see my face.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: She's making out with the microphone. So yeah, so there's
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: no word yet when Cleopatra will be filmed because officially
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: James Cameron isn't on board yet. So they probably don't
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: want to speculate any of this so far. But it
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: should be a while if he plans on doing Avatar 2,
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: which I'm sure he will because it's money.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Why do I have to put everything in three? I'm
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: so fucking tired of it. It depends on what it is.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: If it's done good, I still like it. Jackass 3D? No,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: that's not necessary.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: Do you want to see balls coming at your face
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: in 3D? Do you want to see people shoving things
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: in their ass in 3D?
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Obviously, millions of people say yes. Yes, I do. Because
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: it made a fortune this weekend. Yeah, that's so sad. Yes,
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: it is.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: God.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Oh, Lord.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: So, dueling movie projects are sort of an old Hollywood tradition,
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: but rarely is there a case where two similar projects
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: actually come from within the same family. So we go
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: to the Muppets. And that's kind of why I wanted
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: to do this, because we all like the Muppets. Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: The Muppets, which they have now shortened the title. It
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: was originally The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever, which isn't really
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: that great a title either, because it's not going to
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: be The Great Muppet Caper, so don't even try. As
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: they prepare to start filming, Brian Henson, Jim's son, is
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: at work on another movie set in a world where
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: puppets and humans live together. Another Jim Henson company production,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Happy Time Murders, was acquired this week by Lionsgate.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Oh, God, Lionsgate. Yeah, I love me some Lionsgate, aside
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: from Saul.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Happy Time Murders is described as a comedic thriller that
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: is described as Avenue Q meets L.A. Confidential, but the
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: premise most immediately it brings to mind is Who Framed
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: Roger Rabbit. I love Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Listen to this.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: I mean, it really does. When the puppet cast of
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: a 1980s children TV show called The Happy Time Gang
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: starts getting murdered, an ex-LAPD private detective and puppet, with
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: a drinking problem, takes on the case with a former
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: human partner. It's like almost B-frame Roger Rabbit. Except he
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: wasn't a puppet.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Except B-frame Roger Rabbit was awesome.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: These are Muppets. It's got potential. Granted, they haven't done
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: great Muppet stuff in a long time.
- 1:08:59Speaker 6: But, you know.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: Jim's kid's involved. It's better than nothing. So, yeah, Happy
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: Time Murders is the one that's actually going to be
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: directed by Brian Henson, who has done, I mean, he
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: did Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, which still aren't
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: quite up to his dad's level, but nobody can get
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: that level at this point. And it's not yet known
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: if any Muppets will have cameo roles in Happy Timers, like,
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: you know, the big crossovers in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but... God,
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: that movie was so awesome. It is pretty damned awesome.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: As for the Muppets, which I'm sure they'll change that
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: title eventually, let's see, the human cast is expanding, and
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: they've got Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and they're
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: supposed to start filming in November. The premise of the movie, again,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: I kind of like this, too, It makes me have
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: a little hope for this movie. The premise of this
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: Muppet movie is that Gonzo starts filming a new Muppets movie,
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: but blows the entire budget on the first day of filming.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I like that.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: On chickens. On chickens.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Leave it to Gonzo.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: So, yeah. Chris Cooper will be the villain who buys
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: the Muppets movie studio to drill for oil. I mean,
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: it all seems so ridiculous. I kind of like it
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: so far. So, I'm hoping they don't screw it up. But, again,
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: it's been a long time since they've been released. clever,
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: so it's interesting that they're bringing in really, really new
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: blood on this one, because yeah, they've got, let's see,
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: the director is James Bobin, who's previously worked on the
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: Ali G show and Flight of the Conchords. That's very
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: different than the old school Muppet show, so it'll be
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: interesting to see if that actually helps.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: I love Flight of the Conchords.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying, if they can find some sort
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: of humor that works more with new, modern audiences versus
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: stuff that hasn't worked for the last 20 years, but
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: He's alive.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Alive!
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: Okay, this one I have to bring up just because
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: I kind of have a big question about it, really.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: We'll get to that. But it also gives us a
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: chance to make fun of Mike Myers. So if you
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: remove the four Shrek movies from Mike Myers' filmography of
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: the last eight years, the only focus you have is
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: The Cat in the Hat and Love Guru.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Which both sucked ass.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: Suck.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Neither of which I saw.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: But really, do you need to? I mean, Love Guru,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: Cat in the Hat, come on. So, yeah, you take
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: the talking cat in one and the love expert in
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: the other, and you get his new project, Pepe Le Pew.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Warner Brothers is thinking, because the studio is attached to
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: Mike Myers, they need to get him to star in
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: this live-action CGI adaptation of the Looney Tunes character, Pepe
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Le Pew.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: It's going to suck so bad. Michael Myers has only
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: done two good movies ever.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: Which two are they?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I don't even know which one. So, I'm Married and Ex-Murder.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: And... Well, I was counting Wayne's World right off the bat.
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: It's the only thing he's done ever good. Yeah, because
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: I don't even fully acknowledge the second one. It's all right.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: It just doesn't quite hit the awesomeness of the first one.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: He just needs to stop.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I don't understand why he's as famous as he is
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: because all of his shit sucks.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: Kind of. I mean, if it wasn't for Shrek, that
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: sort of has carried him for the last.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: I didn't even see him, so I mean.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: I liked the first Shrek, and I think the Shrek
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: movies are okay.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: Yeah, they just.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: They're okay for that kind of movie.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not amazing. They're just... They were, again, a
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: very different thing when that first one came out from what,
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: you know, you'd seen, especially with animated movies, but... I
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: liked the little dragon donkeys.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: They were so cute. The little dragon donkeys.
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: Oh, man. So what I really wanted to address was,
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: so you guys have seen Pepe the Pew cartoons.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: Did it ever bother you?
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: That he was kind of a rapist?
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of. I remember as a kid being like,
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: this is weird.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Very stalker-like and very harassing.
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: He doesn't quite understand the no means no. He really doesn't.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: No means no, you fucking skunk.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it was so weird that even as a kid
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: that occurred to me that like... But he was French
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: and that made it okay. This premise is a little off.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: Overly amorous. Yeah.
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: Just really, in America, it just means like, dude, you're
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: a fucking stalker rapist.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Quit.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: Maybe it's different in France. I don't know. Yeah, I
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: was always kind of creeped out by Pepe Le Pew.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: And I think the downside really was like... they're once
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: you've seen one of his cartoons you're done they're all
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: exactly the same it's just different settings occasionally but i mean.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: A cat too which is like it's.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Always a cat yeah she's.
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: Like fuck off you fucking rodent.
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: But it's always a cat some sort of crazy paint
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: piece of shit some sort of paint and mishap comes
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: along and then yeah the exact same cartoon i um
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: like you know roadrunner was sort of the same thing
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: but it varied itself so much that it was still
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: entertaining but peppy the pew hated the roadrunner though yeah
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: but i didn't well i didn't like the roadrunner i
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: like wiley coyote i would watch them all because wiley
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: coyote was so badass.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: I like speedy gonzalez i like pussyfoot pussyfoot was my.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: Favorite he was pretty awesome what's the girl up.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: On the big dogs what's the big dog remember the
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: big dog yeah but i can't remember his name right.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Now butch or something I don't remember, but.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Pussyfoot and the dog. Little feet. Oh, I love Pussyfoot.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: What's the monster? The big red one.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Gossamer?
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Yes, Gossamer. He was like my favorite. I love that one. Unfortunately,
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: everything they worked him in after that, like years later
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: when they were just trying to market him, kind of sucked.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: But that original one he's in is fucking awesome.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: I like Tex Avery, like House of the Future cartoons.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I like the Tex Avery... red hot right there right
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: now oh my god it was awesome red hot right
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: and it's.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: My favorite so i don't know it just this seemed
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: like such a bad idea anyway but then throwing on
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: top of that it's not even like they had good
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: stories to work with the first time and warner brothers
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: usually actually had good plot lines within a cartoon but
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: not on the pepula pew stuff because it was just
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: it was the same thing over and over so Yeah,
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: we don't know who Pepe's love interest will be in
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: this one, but, yeah, it will be another CGI character.
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: They should make it a mash-up, and it should be
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: like Pepe Le Pew, the story of the Craigslist killer
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: or something.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Now that I would watch.
- 1:15:03Speaker 10: That would be amazing.
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: That seems fine. Anybody could be proud to rest in
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: this coffin.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Can I have a Marlena moment?
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: All right. And now it's time for a Marlena moment.
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: Okay, so Friday, Misty and Jay went to Target.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: We totally did.
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: Uh-huh.
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: And I get this mysterious text message from a number
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: I don't recognize. It's just a picture of some garbage,
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: pale kids, silly bands. And it says, you know you
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: want these.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: And I was like, hell yeah, dude. I was like,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: who is this?
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: And the text message says, the creepy but intriguing homeless
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: man that lives in your alley.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: And I was like, Alicia? And then I was like, no,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: it's Jay. We're at Target. Okay. I was like, oh, okay. Awesome.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: My boyfriend's the creepy stalker. Who I thought could have
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: been Alicia.
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: What does that say about Alicia? Or my boyfriend. Well,
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: we knew he was creepy, but he's creepy in a
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: good way.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Alicia, that's still yet to be seen. But did you
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: go see the Stilly Bands? There was one in the
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: shape of a turd. There's a toilet, a turd, and
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: a toilet paper. I forget what else there was. I
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: don't know. Like an explosion ball?
- 1:16:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Oh, a fart cloud.
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: God.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I got this.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: These are being marketed out into the world. It would
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: be really better if they were scented.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Oh, that would be so cool.
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: I have a scratch and sniff garbage bucket cards.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: Now, Alicia can be creepy. She punched Eddie in the stomach.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Why? I was like, Eddie, why did my friend just
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: punch you in the stomach? He's like, I don't know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: because she was excited. Yeah. I'm excited.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: I punch people randomly, too.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: She gets really excited, and she'll, like, jump on people
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: and noogie them. She's only, like, five feet tall, so
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: she has to jump really high.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: And then, like... There was motions involved that people out
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: there just wouldn't appreciate.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: That was my story.
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: And that's the end of it?
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Yep. Wrote a song about it.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: Like, to hit, hit goes. And this has been another
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: Marlena moment. Yeah. Now back to the news. This just in.
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: So wouldn't you say there's some sort of window on
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: the time it takes for your, or the time you're
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: allowed to make a sequel?
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: At least a somewhat direct sequel. I mean, there's been
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: a few that have come back many, many years later
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: and at least taken a character. But yeah, trying to
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: make a sequel and calling it that many years later
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: seems like a bad idea. If we learn nothing from
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: Money Never Sleeps.
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: Which I've not heard good things about. So, yeah, one
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: of the biggest blockbuster hits of the 80s is trying
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: to come back with a sequel. Top Gun 2.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Ah, no. There wasn't a Top Gun 2? No.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: Why would there be?
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: Because it would suck.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Well, I can't do that. I don't know. I can't
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: do the teeth thing. It always threw me off.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: What are you trying to do?
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Like that scene where Val Kilmer and they're like the.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: Oh, God. You don't want to do anything like Val Kilmer.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: He has that thing with his teeth and it's like,
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I can't do it. You know what I'm talking about.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Everybody knows what I'm talking about. She's like, well, look
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: at me like that.
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: But, again, look at him now. You don't want to
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: do anything that Val Kilmer's done. You'll turn out like
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: Val Kilmer.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: You both have your Adrian Wright shirts on. I don't.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Do you have an Adrian Wright shirt?
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: We have a club.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: No.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: Oh. You're not cool like us.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I don't even have an Adrian Wright tattoo. See? You're
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: still not cool like us.
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we both do.
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: I need to get that fixed. I was thinking about
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: getting that fixed soon.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: I need to go back, so, you know. I think
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: we can set something up you like to think everybody
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: hates you it's okay.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I didn't know you're supposed to tip the tattoo guy
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: i don't know this i don't know the etiquette i'm sorry.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: You hear that adrian she didn't mean it.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry adrian i want a bow duke tattoo next
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: come on tip him double be like i'm sorry i.
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Oh, Lord. So, yeah, Top Gun, one of the most
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: successful movies of the 80s, but also one of the
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: Bruckheimer early, back when he was with Don Simpson, so,
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: you know, he made a ton of money off of his,
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: you know, Flashdance and Beverly Hills Cop movies, but lately
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: he's done things more like Prince of Persia in The
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: Sorcerer's Apprentice, so... Now he's not making money, so I
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: guess he's just like, um, what can I drag out
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: that used to make money? Hey, how about Top Gun?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Was it gonna have the same people in it?
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: No, and even if it did, it's kind of stupid.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: I mean, they're all old and lame now, so who
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: wants to see any of them? I mean, really? But
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: they're planning... Okay, so he's... Bruckheimer's in talks with Paramount
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: about developing a sequel to Top Gun. Included in the
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: negotiations is director Tony Scott, who actually is still making
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: pretty huge budget movies right about now, so... Getting him
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: back is sort of a big deal, but yeah. Trying
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: to get Tom Cruise to come back and do a
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: little cameo as Maverick.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: Is he going to play the new main characters like
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Grandpa or something?
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: Probably. He might as well at this point. I don't know.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: It just seems ridiculous. It is weird that they're trying
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: to get Tony Scott back. They're giving the screenplay at
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: this point to Christopher McQueary, who is a huge name
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: at this point. I mean, he's actually done... usual suspects
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: and Valkyrie and like he's been working on that Flying
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: Tigers movie that Tom Cruise wants to make so it's
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: like he's actually a big name screenwriter so I mean
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: I guess that would be promising but at the same
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: time I don't yeah I don't I don't see how
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: this could come out good especially since they're talking about
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: how this story would tell more of a modern story
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: about today's naval pilots who are engaged in less dogfights
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: now so it's like boring navy now all they do
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: is sit in a room and occasionally drop a bomb
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: but they don't actually get it any action that sounds
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: boring yeah i know i don't understand where they think
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: they're going with this and why they would think they
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: can drag something out 25 years later and try to
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: make something i don't know it's not like it's not
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: a cheesy movie to begin with That's one of those,
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: and this might piss people off because people still, that
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: is a beloved movie, but it's funny because I was
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: right there with you. I have a copy of it
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: on VHS. I thought it was awesome back in the day.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: When I watched it years later, I was just like,
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: this is the sappiest thing. I can't believe it. It's
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: that Titanic level of like, it's half romance novel. There's
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: so many dreamy shots of him making out with Kelly
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Lungilis that I was just like, It barely balances out
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: the dog fights. I was like, it gets pretty sappy.
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Except that's your favorite movie.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Top Gun and The Lion King.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: There's so many. It's a weird combination right there.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: You know, it's funny.
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: I remember when The Lion King came out and everybody
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: freaked out about it.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: I was just like, eh.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: I still, I'm like, eh, it's okay. I mean, basically,
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: you stole the whole plot to begin with. And then
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: on top of that, it's kind of, eh. I mean,
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: the only reason I really was into it, because I
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: like Scar, he's such an evil bastard, and Jeremy Irons
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: is a creepy motherfucker. I love that they gave him
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: an animated character. That's just awesome.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I love my mom's brutal honesty with it, because of
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: that scene where Mufasa, Shamba's dad, gets killed. you know,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: run over by the stampede or whatever. My niece was
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: watching it and my niece was like, is he asleep?
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: And mom was like, no, he's dead. My niece was
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: like four, three or four at the time.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: No.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: She was like, no, he's just sleeping.
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: I was like, no, he's dead. Now you guys understand
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: why Misty is the way she is.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: He's not asleep. He's dead. That's my mom.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: But I mean, as a child, I was like, obsessed
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: with Beauty and the Beast I mean.
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: Obsessed seeing that was a good movie yeah.
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: So as far as I was concerned every Disney movie
- 1:22:59Speaker 5: to come after that was just I.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Was obsessed with Mr. Boogity I never had a boogity
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is but awesomest movie ever.
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: It had Bud Bundy in it okay now it is
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: awesome and.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: It had somebody else in it but I can't remember
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: who it was it had Buffy original Buffy.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Christy Swanson I think nice unless.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I'm totally making shit up which whatever I never know.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Don't you judge me. Exactly.
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, that was my favorite movie of all times.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: I watched it every day before I went to school
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: and every.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Day when I came home. I was like one of
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: those weird kids who just watched the same thing over
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: and over. Did you have it memorized? Could you like
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: quote it and sing it? I still can.
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I believe that every, you know, those weird kids
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: is every kid.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: We should just have an episode with you doing an
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: entire one-man version of that movie. I could just sing
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: you all the songs.
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: And now I leave you. All right. Are we ready
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: to round this out?
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: And this one, well, first of all, I believe we
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: brought this on ourselves. And number two, you can't complain, Misty,
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: because you sent it to me. Oh, what did I
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: send you again? 20th Century Fox has teamed up with
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: Walden Media to buy the rights to Bill Keen's syndicated
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: comic strip, The Family Circus.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: I figured you would have done this last week, but then.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: We didn't do it last week because nobody showed up.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, duh. Fuck the family circus. I hate that.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: It's the most useless comedy in the entire world. All
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: it is is that little fucking brat running around with
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: those little dash marks doing absolutely stupid little Brady shit.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Fuck that shit up. Fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: That's what I'll say. But really, I mean, every time
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: we came upon a stupid comic getting turned into a movie.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: Other than the Peanuts movies. Next, well, now I'm talking
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: about just, you know, anything now that they're doing like
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: Marmaduke and all these other things.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Minutes and minutes.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: We would always say, you know, what's next? They're going
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: to do a family circus movie?
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: When's Apartment 3G going to come out?
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: I believe like at least 10 times. Dr.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Rex Morgan.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: In the last hundred, hundred episodes we've said that.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: I'm sure I would be into that.
- 1:24:54Speaker 10: God.
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: We've said that many times, and I think we brought
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: it upon ourselves. As always, all we have to do
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: is mention it, and we unleash it upon the universe.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: Hagar the Horrible. Want to see it? Get on it, Hollywood.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: Unless you actually want it. If you want it, it'll backfire,
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: and they'll never make it.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: I don't want a Hagar the Horrible.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: Nice try. The universe knows what you're up to. God
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: damn it.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: You can't pull little shenanigans with the universe.
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: The universe knows your craziness. Bill Keen started the strip
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: in 1960. It's tired. Please stop. And they continue to
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: generate what they're saying is the most widely syndicated strip
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: in the world. It sucks. That's sad. I feel bad
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: for people in other countries that have to read that
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: and be thinking that these are what our families are like. Because, yeah,
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: not so much.
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I can't believe that damn thing's been going on for
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: 50 years.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: It's ridiculous.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: If it was like my niece and nephew, like if
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: Jeffy was setting things on fire or like, you know,
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: the little kid was like beating people. Wearing an eyepatch.
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: Wearing an eyepatch. She's the cutest kid in an eyepatch
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: I've ever seen, I'm telling you. Damn, she's adorable. Anyway,
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: so yeah, this is the scary part. The deal is
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: supposedly six figures against seven figures, which I had to
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: double check. That means basically a high six figures for
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: the script and seven figures if they make the movie.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: That's a ridiculous amount of money being thrown at that
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: guy for making that series. That's just sad. Who's going
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: to care?
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Nobody?
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: Think about it. I mean, how many of those kind
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: of people, I don't want to call them out, there
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: are probably people that go to church every week.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: My sister?
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: Basically, she probably thinks that's an awesome... Oh, God. Misty's
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: moved to the underbite with the candy corn.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: You look exactly like the girl from her shirt when
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: you do that. Are they going to make a Precious
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Moments movie next?
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: Oh, God. How about a Love Is movie? Can we
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: have one of those?
- 1:26:50Speaker 6: A what?
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: We needed that from like the 60s. I hated those
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: creepy little fucks. Love Is.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Those like little clay feet.
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: Cupid doll looking boy and girl. I hated that shit.
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: Which means there'll be a blockbuster movie coming at us
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: in the next couple years. Yeah. I just thought that
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: was coming back to bite us in the ass as always.
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: All we have to do is say, God, why would
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: we do that? Why?
- 1:27:14Speaker 8: Ugh.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Garb so it's gonna be a ziggy movie.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: See we keep saying that but i'm not tall enough
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: if there was ever i remember how it should go
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: if there was ever a movie that at the end
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: of it someone shoots themselves it's the ziggy.
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: Movie yeah you know what my very first toy as
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: an infant was a ziggy doll and i really feel
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: like that set the stage for my depression my lifelong
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: battle with depression.
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: That's not really what you want to give a child
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: in low self-esteem Oh, poor Ziggy.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I got her
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: this Ziggy doll.
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: This chronically depressed child.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: This morbidly depressed cartoon strip. She's doomed.
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: Enjoy. And is your heart black and full of hate?
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Black at midnight, black at pitch. Blacker than the foul
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: it wears. Oh, Lord.
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: All right. Is there anything else you want to pass
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: along in the wrap-up of part one here of our
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: Halloween spooked... What the hell are we calling this thing?
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Creeptacular.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: Creeptacular. I got a rock special.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: No, I'm good.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: I got a rock. I guess that's a no.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I was just marveling.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: I bought this sweater yesterday for $ 5 and this hat
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: for $ 2.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: And I got them home, and I was like, oh,
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: my God, they match each other perfectly.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: Yay!
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: I thought you were just looking at your cleavage.
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: Yeah, she was just kind of staring at her chest
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: for a minute there.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: No, I was looking.
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: At it. She seemed mesmerized.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: I was noticing how well my hat and sweater match
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: each other, okay? People, Jesus. Whatever you say.
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: With that, we invite you to come back for part two.

- 1:28:58Speaker 1: the whole thing, but.

- 1:29:02Speaker 4: Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to
