- 0:41Speaker 3: Algebra one class. Please give Garad the message that I
- 0:44Speaker 3: still have a project that he submitted titled why will
- 0:49Speaker 3: algebra help Me in the future, which, of course the
- 0:51Speaker 3: answer is it won't.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Big day, big big hoo ha.
- 0:55Speaker 4: So right, it's got the big hoo ha.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Something different. Oh really, actually I do.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I do have one of the greatest calls. How someone
- 1:09Speaker 3: could actually say that.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Out loud, like, well, actually you can't. Well actually the
- 1:13Speaker 4: media don't at me with this, but I'm just putting
- 1:15Speaker 4: the scenario out there into the ether. Bring back Josh,
- 1:19Speaker 4: you put Mac back in there. Give him Marvin Harrison,
- 1:22Speaker 4: you draft him a tackle at the top of the
- 1:24Speaker 4: second round. You see what happens to the door. That's
- 1:28Speaker 4: what I want to do. I come at me.
- 1:31Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.

- 1:39Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:44Speaker 1: at Gillette Stadium. And I was just talking to Paul,
- 1:47Speaker 1: like moments before the show. It's it's a different feeling.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's more it's positive or negative.
- 1:54Speaker 1: It's just different. It's like yesterday we had, you know,
- 1:58Speaker 1: the Jirodmeo introductory U press conference, and now today what's
- 2:04Speaker 1: supposed to happen? Like what are we supposed to do?
- 2:06Speaker 1: You know, Like it's it's kind of a weird feeling,
- 2:10Speaker 1: you know. I think Bill leaving created such a vacuum,
- 2:14Speaker 1: you know, and understandably everyone's questions is how is that
- 2:19Speaker 1: vacuum going to be filled? We know who the new
- 2:21Speaker 1: head coach is, but what kind of head coach is
- 2:24Speaker 1: that going to be? What's his staff going to look like,
- 2:27Speaker 1: who's going to be having final say in different matters?
- 2:30Speaker 1: And we don't really know the answers to that. They
- 2:32Speaker 1: weren't answered yesterday understandably, you know, I'm sure Mayo is
- 2:36Speaker 1: still filling out his staff and he doesn't want to,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, tip his hand or say something before he
- 2:41Speaker 1: knows it himself. So but it's kind of a weird
- 2:44Speaker 1: feeling that I have anywhere.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I mean, I just feel it. We're the off season.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I mean, that's what And I mean I get what
- 2:51Speaker 4: you're saying yesterday, and I definitely, but it's.
- 2:53Speaker 1: A little bit different off season'd it was.
- 2:55Speaker 4: And that's I mean, and that's why I think, at
- 2:58Speaker 4: least from my experience the last few years, it's it's
- 3:00Speaker 4: like you have to use this time to decompress a
- 3:02Speaker 4: little bit and you know, to refocus on what's going
- 3:05Speaker 4: to happen. But I agree, like you just you're kind
- 3:09Speaker 4: of I mean, I almost said it was talking about
- 3:11Speaker 4: it yesterday with my wife. It was like, you know,
- 3:13Speaker 4: we spent so much time speculating about Bill being gone
- 3:15Speaker 4: and what that could look like. And you know, I
- 3:18Speaker 4: use the term like into the wilderness almost like saying
- 3:21Speaker 4: the team is into the wilderness. But now I feel
- 3:23Speaker 4: like we're all actually in the wilderness. I don't really
- 3:25Speaker 4: realize exactly. There's nothing you know and say everything you
- 3:28Speaker 4: will about Bill, but there was just a certain way
- 3:30Speaker 4: that everything was done and you knew what to expect,
- 3:33Speaker 4: and you know, for better or worse, that's how it was.
- 3:35Speaker 4: And now you don't know, you don't really know who
- 3:37Speaker 4: to look to. You don't And I mean, look, I'll
- 3:39Speaker 4: just say I really like Jaab Mayo. And you know,
- 3:42Speaker 4: I know that people probably have issues with how this
- 3:44Speaker 4: is all going down with you know, GM searches and
- 3:46Speaker 4: OC's and all that kind of stuff. But for me,
- 3:49Speaker 4: I'm at least starting from a point of I really
- 3:51Speaker 4: like this guy. I you know, I think he deserves
- 3:53Speaker 4: this shot that he's getting. And you know, I think
- 3:55Speaker 4: yesterday I kind of had a feel art this he
- 3:58Speaker 4: seems like a head coach. Now he seems like that
- 4:00Speaker 4: to me. I don't know how it's going to go,
- 4:02Speaker 4: but but I like the guy, and I think it's
- 4:03Speaker 4: easy to kind of get behind him.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And as he starts this like, I want him to
- 4:09Speaker 1: succeed for for him, but I also want him to
- 4:12Speaker 1: succeed for us. Yeah. Oh yeah, you know it's life's
- 4:14Speaker 1: a lot better when you're winning, and.
- 4:16Speaker 3: That's where that wilderness stuff that Mike just talked about,
- 4:19Speaker 3: like you don't know exactly which direction you know, things
- 4:21Speaker 3: could go. So I agree with you, you know, and you're like,
- 4:24Speaker 3: the off season is here. I feel like now, like
- 4:27Speaker 3: what Fred's talking about, we really haven't had any days
- 4:30Speaker 3: where it was like you could tell it's the off
- 4:33Speaker 3: season until probably today. Yeah, you know, it's been you know,
- 4:38Speaker 3: what's going to happen with Bill? Okay, so you know, newsflash.
- 4:42Speaker 3: But when something that big is going to happen, when
- 4:45Speaker 3: it happens, that's not when you can start work. You know,
- 4:48Speaker 3: you're sort of preparing yourself that for the possibility that
- 4:51Speaker 3: a change was coming, so you you had a lot
- 4:53Speaker 3: of work to do in that regard. Then it happens
- 4:56Speaker 3: and you have to, you know, sort of get it
- 4:57Speaker 3: all out there and and express how you feel about it.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Then you find out that they're naming girod Mao the
- 5:03Speaker 3: next day, Like, there have been no off days in
- 5:06Speaker 3: the off season I think until today.
- 5:08Speaker 1: No chance, like you said, is to decompress. Yeah, you know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's we're compressed.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Yeah, well, and it's a whole new set of things
- 5:16Speaker 4: that you know, I mean, just even as simple as
- 5:19Speaker 4: you know, whatever we've come to believe as what they
- 5:21Speaker 4: like as draft prospects, like does that really hold water anymore?
- 5:25Speaker 4: You know it's going to change, you know, right but
- 5:29Speaker 4: I mean it's I think right now it's a little
- 5:31Speaker 4: bit disconcerting and you feel a little bit like you
- 5:33Speaker 4: don't really you know, have a gravity to the situation.
- 5:36Speaker 4: But I assume it will, it will begin to develop.
- 5:38Speaker 4: And oh, you know that was the the takeaway from
- 5:40Speaker 4: yesterday was you know, this is what Mayo's doing right now,
- 5:43Speaker 4: is as we kind of knew, he's stepping into this
- 5:45Speaker 4: role and he's got to reevaluate every last little detail
- 5:48Speaker 4: within this place. And you know it's I mean, I
- 5:50Speaker 4: had a lot of fun less in a Felger yesterday,
- 5:53Speaker 4: you know, dissecting every everything he said. And that's I mean,
- 5:56Speaker 4: something I guess I've realized you have to be aware
- 5:57Speaker 4: of in this town is that if you're going to
- 5:59Speaker 4: step up there do a media like, everything you say
- 6:02Speaker 4: is going to be put under a microscope. And it
- 6:05Speaker 4: certainly was yesterday for him for you know, some of it,
- 6:08Speaker 4: I grease.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't catch much of my shows unfortunately,
- 6:13Speaker 3: so I don't know exactly. I mean, I have an
- 6:15Speaker 3: idea because.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I negative, Yeah, my guess is they all My guess
- 6:21Speaker 6: is they fixated on sort of some of the references
- 6:24Speaker 6: to Belichick and things like that, as opposed to you know,
- 6:27Speaker 6: sort of trying to do things maybe in a little
- 6:29Speaker 6: bit of a different way.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Good Paul, it's almost like you've been going on that.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Show because we were you know, we were here doing
- 6:35Speaker 3: doing TV here, so I didn't actually get to do
- 6:37Speaker 3: my my spot that's I was listening, you know, with
- 6:41Speaker 3: with with the Boys. But I do think there was
- 6:45Speaker 3: you know, an element of you know, as Fred said,
- 6:48Speaker 3: like kind of like that fresh you know start, that
- 6:52Speaker 3: that that I think we were all looking for. I
- 6:54Speaker 3: think we got an element of that.
- 6:56Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I even you know, kind of silly and it's not important,
- 6:59Speaker 3: but even the venue, different venue than we used to
- 7:02Speaker 3: be in really impressive area of the stadium in the atrium.
- 7:07Speaker 3: So I just felt like the whole thing was a
- 7:09Speaker 3: fresh start. I would admit that there was probably a
- 7:12Speaker 3: little too much you know, direct or indirect references to
- 7:18Speaker 3: Belichick kind of in a negative light for my liking,
- 7:21Speaker 3: but I thought the overall message was what Mike said,
- 7:25Speaker 3: you know, like, this is a guy that I think.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He stands up there and he's a guy that you
- 7:28Speaker 3: can get behind. He's a guy you can root for
- 7:30Speaker 3: because I do think that he has maybe some different
- 7:33Speaker 3: ways of looking at things. And I don't care. After
- 7:36Speaker 3: twenty four years, I don't care how successful. Sometimes you
- 7:38Speaker 3: need some different perspectives.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Speaking of what he said, it wasn't at the press conference,
- 7:43Speaker 1: but Chad in Atlanta writes in he says, I'm sure
- 7:46Speaker 1: you all heard what head coach of the New England Patriots,
- 7:48Speaker 1: Girod Mayo said about the third overall pick. He said,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and this was the Steve Burton. Yes, we're going to
- 7:54Speaker 1: draft the best player at the most important position. To me,
- 7:57Speaker 1: that at least means a quarterback. Which quarter back, though,
- 8:00Speaker 1: is the question in my opinion, which seems to be
- 8:03Speaker 1: a hot take. I say they should trade up and
- 8:05Speaker 1: get Caleb Williams. I know it's contingent on what the
- 8:07Speaker 1: Bears do, but he is indeed the consensus best player
- 8:10Speaker 1: at the most important position. I didn't hear that until
- 8:15Speaker 1: later in the day, and.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I was like, wow, it'spread like wildfire. As soon as
- 8:20Speaker 3: they put it up on social media.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 1: That was so either he's you know, not afraid to say, yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 1: we're in the quarterback market, or he's putting out a
- 8:31Speaker 1: little misinformation out there. But it was eyebrow raising to
- 8:37Speaker 1: hear him say that. Mac Jones was present at the
- 8:42Speaker 1: press conference, by the way, so it's something to talk about.
- 8:47Speaker 3: He said, ride and shotgun alongside Matt Smith's.
- 8:49Speaker 4: So quick funny story. After the press conference, I got
- 8:53Speaker 4: in the elevator alone and then someone came around the
- 8:55Speaker 4: corner was like, hold that, and it was Mac. So
- 8:57Speaker 4: it was me and Mac solo right elevator and it
- 9:01Speaker 4: was like, you know, a million different things go through
- 9:03Speaker 4: your mind and we did. You know, it was just
- 9:04Speaker 4: kind of small talk. I was like, you know, where
- 9:06Speaker 4: are you going? You know, it's like I'm just trying
- 9:07Speaker 4: to get back to football, Like like, I guess I'll
- 9:10Speaker 4: put you here. And then there was that moment of like,
- 9:12Speaker 4: you know, a billion different things you could say to him,
- 9:14Speaker 4: and what I came up with not not not the greatest, Bob,
- 9:17Speaker 4: uh have a great off season. It's like that's what
- 9:22Speaker 4: I should have said. I had nothing. I don't know
- 9:24Speaker 4: what I mean. There were so many things like you know,
- 9:25Speaker 4: it's like and so many jokes went through my mind,
- 9:28Speaker 4: and like, man, they just got you. Marvin Harrison, Man,
- 9:31Speaker 4: you'd be cooking like you know, but start pumping them
- 9:33Speaker 4: up a little bit.
- 9:35Speaker 1: What do you bench?
- 9:37Speaker 4: How much you bench? But it's so Mac, Like, it's
- 9:39Speaker 4: so Mac that he's still here, He's still in the
- 9:41Speaker 4: weight room, like he's still working. He came up. Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 4: I mean, and I like, I'm not I'm not trying
- 9:46Speaker 4: to go back to my take from Tuesday where we
- 9:49Speaker 4: run it back, but maybe we should just run it
- 9:50Speaker 4: back with Mac because he's here and he's working hard
- 9:52Speaker 4: and he's dedicated, y'all.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Oh lord.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 4: But uh but no, Mac was there, and and you know,
- 9:58Speaker 4: I thought it was interesting to Marcusington. I mean that
- 10:00Speaker 4: was the big thing I was interested in, just who
- 10:02Speaker 4: kind of comes up to to, you know, show support.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Certainly all the front office people and the scouting staff.
- 10:06Speaker 3: That's what he said to me.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Uh, Bill O'Brien was no Bill O'Brien.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Marcus Marcus Covington was the only coach. They're all on vacation.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Well there were a lot of staff, you know, like
- 10:19Speaker 1: we saw Smitty.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's personnel. The coaching staff was sent home last week.
- 10:25Speaker 1: True.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah, And Covington was the only one that I saw.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I don't I mean, I'm not telling you to weren't
- 10:30Speaker 3: any others. That was the only one I saw what
- 10:32Speaker 3: I saw.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Of course, Troy Brown is going to be coaching at
- 10:34Speaker 4: the at the at the Senior Bowl in a couple
- 10:36Speaker 4: of weeks. But Bentley, Jones, Mac Jones, Jonathan Jones, Cardona, Cardona.
- 10:43Speaker 3: And those are five players that I saw at the
- 10:46Speaker 3: five plus mccordy and Ninkovich is a lumps.
- 10:49Speaker 1: They hopped up media.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, but it was, I mean, it's funny just
- 10:54Speaker 4: sitting there because I mean, you guys have I guess, Paul,
- 10:56Speaker 4: you only one you only with party the bills, right,
- 10:58Speaker 4: Bill Bills. But Fred, you've only had what two or
- 11:01Speaker 4: two of you?
- 11:02Speaker 1: Pete I had Pete, I had Bill. I had Parcels departing. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I had Pete departing.
- 11:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 4: That was another thing that got that got mentioned with
- 11:12Speaker 4: the little crossfire there on parcels. Yeah, and uh and
- 11:18Speaker 4: and and Girodd's line of I needed a break from
- 11:20Speaker 4: Bill and they would look on Probert Kraft's face when
- 11:23Speaker 4: he said that just kind of like, yeah, tell me
- 11:25Speaker 4: about it, Like it looked like one of those. But
- 11:27Speaker 4: I don't know, I didn't think it was all. You know,
- 11:29Speaker 4: there were definitely moments where you read in between the
- 11:31Speaker 4: lines about you know, kind of what they're you know,
- 11:34Speaker 4: certainly that the game has changed a lot over this time.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Don't want to be in an echo chamber.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, so those things I think you're easy.
- 11:40Speaker 4: But I also I mean, and I wrote a piece
- 11:42Speaker 4: on it, and I mean I highlighted too. Just I
- 11:44Speaker 4: like the hard work works. I like that. I mean that,
- 11:46Speaker 4: you know, I think is of all the tenants of
- 11:48Speaker 4: Bill Belichick my two you know, guys really work hard
- 11:51Speaker 4: here and and you know, I think short term focus
- 11:53Speaker 4: on the immediate, what can you do right now? Those
- 11:55Speaker 4: are two big things I always took away from Bill.
- 11:57Speaker 4: So I mean, I do think that, you know, he
- 11:59Speaker 4: sprinkled in a couple of compliments, but I think.
- 12:01Speaker 1: It was interesting to hear it. And I knew the
- 12:03Speaker 1: answer to this without hearing Robert say it. But why
- 12:07Speaker 1: Drod Like? What what was it about him? And you know,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and he went back to when Belichick left here in
- 12:14Speaker 1: ninety seven, and his instinct was to hire him, but
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know, he didn't do it. He didn't do it
- 12:21Speaker 1: because it was just too close to parcels. And that
- 12:23Speaker 1: was the whole part when you were talking about, Yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and he didn't do it, And he said, that was,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know, one of the few times where I went
- 12:30Speaker 1: against my instinct and I was wrong. And so I
- 12:33Speaker 1: jumped at the chance when I had it again in
- 12:35Speaker 1: two thousand to get Belichick and and but this time
- 12:40Speaker 1: I listened to my instinct. And you know we talked
- 12:43Speaker 1: about when he brought him over to Israel. I would
- 12:46Speaker 1: have loved to hear what it was on that trip
- 12:49Speaker 1: that you saw that really impressed you. And maybe at
- 12:52Speaker 1: some point we can get your Rod on the show
- 12:55Speaker 1: and we can talk to him about that. But I
- 12:57Speaker 1: would you know, I get what Robert why he did
- 13:01Speaker 1: what he did. You know, his instincts said this is
- 13:04Speaker 1: the right guy for the job. And you know some
- 13:07Speaker 1: people might say, well, that's not the.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Way to make decisions.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I feel a little comfort for that because throughout Robert
- 13:14Speaker 1: Kraft's life, his instincts have done pretty well for him.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You know, so if a guy like that tells me
- 13:23Speaker 1: my instincts, tell me that the most critical position on
- 13:27Speaker 1: this team. This guy's right for it. And you know,
- 13:31Speaker 1: let's let's face it, if Girod doesn't do well, it's
- 13:33Speaker 1: not good for the Crafts.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And so this is all Yeah, that's the spotlight now.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, So if he's saying that, that gives me some comfort,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and I would think for Patriots fans, I'm telling you
- 13:45Speaker 1: you should take some comfort in that too, just my advice.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You don't have to, but my.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Advice loves to you how you should.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but my advice is to take comfort in that
- 13:57Speaker 1: because it's coming from a guy whose instincts have served
- 14:00Speaker 1: him well over time.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Well, it's interesting you brought that up, friend, because I
- 14:03Speaker 4: found myself asking the question of was it a mistake,
- 14:07Speaker 4: like was it't a like? Would it have worked the
- 14:08Speaker 4: same way if he had just hired Bill, if he
- 14:10Speaker 4: had gone from Parcels to Belichick? Or was there some
- 14:13Speaker 4: kind of value that was taken out of having Pete
- 14:16Speaker 4: Carroll here? For I think it was.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Good for the Crafts to go of the direction which
- 14:22Speaker 1: they did with Pete a player's guy, a guy, you know, yeah,
- 14:26Speaker 1: and to learn from that because the way they did
- 14:29Speaker 1: it was wrong, and the whole structure after parcels was wrong.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It was too many cooks in the kitchen. There wasn't
- 14:37Speaker 1: that singular, you know voice, and it didn't work out.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And I felt bad for Pete because it wasn't fair
- 14:46Speaker 1: to him. Now say WHOA, Okay, so what's happening now?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Seems like there's too many voices. We'll see, we'll see.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I hope though, that they don't make that same mistake
- 14:59Speaker 1: where you know, various people are answering to different people.
- 15:04Speaker 1: You can't have that. You cannot have that. I'm sorry.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree with you, Fred, because I think if
- 15:08Speaker 3: he had gone right to Bill. I think one of
- 15:11Speaker 3: the things at the time that was talked about was
- 15:14Speaker 3: that they wanted to sort of be more involved, and
- 15:18Speaker 3: there was a lot of stories, some of them kind
- 15:20Speaker 3: of legends, some of them actually you know, based in fact,
- 15:23Speaker 3: but about how they were, you know, intimately involved in
- 15:27Speaker 3: the draft and the players and scouting and you know,
- 15:30Speaker 3: you know, do you remember the infamous line that Robert
- 15:33Speaker 3: used about to Bucky Jones, calling him a press corner,
- 15:36Speaker 3: you know, stuff like that that really like rubbed people
- 15:38Speaker 3: the wrong way. So I think if Belichick had come
- 15:41Speaker 3: in then and wanted all the you know, sort of
- 15:45Speaker 3: to eliminate that it would have been butting heads, just
- 15:47Speaker 3: like he was with parcels, and the fact that Pete
- 15:50Speaker 3: came in and it allowed him to see, Okay, maybe
- 15:53Speaker 3: I don't want all of this stuff because it's going
- 15:56Speaker 3: to cause me to get mocked a little bit in
- 15:59Speaker 3: the in the me then Belichick was able to come
- 16:02Speaker 3: in three years later and say, Okay, this is the
- 16:05Speaker 3: way we want to do things, and he knew that
- 16:08Speaker 3: Robert was very conscious of that negative publicity that he
- 16:12Speaker 3: got by Yeah. Yeah, So I think it was a
- 16:14Speaker 3: better time.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It was a good learning experience for a young owner.
- 16:17Speaker 1: And people say, if you don't make mistakes, then you're
- 16:19Speaker 1: not stretching yourself, you're not challenging yourself. And I think
- 16:23Speaker 1: that was a good opportunity for them to learn.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Another interesting thing I thought came out was Michael Hawley
- 16:30Speaker 4: seemed very like suddenly assured that they're going to hire
- 16:33Speaker 4: a GM did I don't know if you guys saw that.
- 16:34Speaker 4: He was talking about it a little bit last night
- 16:36Speaker 4: and he said, I don't know where he got that from.
- 16:38Speaker 3: If he were mac Row and Elliott Wolf, he would
- 16:41Speaker 3: get there. They would get they should get their resumes ready.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I think he's one for two. I think one of
- 16:47Speaker 3: those guys will stay, and I think it's Wolf.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Do you think they're kind of auditioning over the next
- 16:51Speaker 4: couple of months?
- 16:52Speaker 8: Is that?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Oh?
- 16:52Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know how long Grow will
- 16:54Speaker 3: be here.
- 16:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I don't think there's anyone down there at this point
- 16:57Speaker 1: that can say, I know I've got a job.
- 17:00Speaker 7: No.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But but knowing that the draft is three months away,
- 17:06Speaker 1: even if you're playing ultimately, is to hire a GM.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I think you got to keep Elliott Man around because
- 17:12Speaker 1: they've done all the work. You know, you don't want
- 17:14Speaker 1: to have to start over.
- 17:15Speaker 3: If you don't hire someone, then you absolutely have to
- 17:20Speaker 3: because you can't just go with like a collaborative and
- 17:23Speaker 3: Girod's going to be involved in it and whoever else
- 17:26Speaker 3: is going to be involved in it, and then you
- 17:28Speaker 3: don't have Matt and Elliott Wolf to sort of weigh
- 17:32Speaker 3: in and ride all your scouts. You have to keep.
- 17:34Speaker 3: But I think if you got somebody and then you
- 17:36Speaker 3: wanted to sort of restructure your personnel department, I think
- 17:40Speaker 3: you could do that. But you know, in O one,
- 17:44Speaker 3: you know Peoli came, Yeah, but they still kept Bobby Green, right, It's.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Very common for the existing structure to stay until the
- 17:52Speaker 1: draft and then they go.
- 17:54Speaker 4: If you bring a guy in early though to kind
- 17:56Speaker 4: of a maybe.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yea, I think if you're planning on hiring a GM,
- 18:01Speaker 3: which I don't know that they are, right, we certainly
- 18:03Speaker 3: didn't get any insight into that yesterday. That's why I
- 18:05Speaker 3: was no insight. I don't think into that yesterday. But
- 18:09Speaker 3: if they're planning on hiring one, I think sooner or
- 18:12Speaker 3: rather than.
- 18:12Speaker 1: It may not. If they do, it may not even
- 18:15Speaker 1: have the title of GM. It could be executive director
- 18:18Speaker 1: of Player Personnelity.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Certainly won't have general manager because it seems like they're
- 18:22Speaker 3: really conscious of that they have never had a general manager.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Well that's again Bill was the GM.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Again, you don't have to be children had a guy
- 18:30Speaker 3: who's served in that role.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah, But what I think, going back to what I said,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I think you do need that person who has the
- 18:38Speaker 1: ultimate say. You know, the times where they didn't on
- 18:42Speaker 1: this team toward the end of ourselves, it caused problems,
- 18:47Speaker 1: and certainly during Pete it caused problems. Things settled when
- 18:51Speaker 1: Bill came and a person had the ultimate say, you know,
- 18:56Speaker 1: you that has to happen.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Like right, and it's just history repeating itself with the
- 19:01Speaker 4: same thing with Terry Glenn when you know that was
- 19:03Speaker 4: the draft pick. And I think they're facing a similar
- 19:06Speaker 4: kind of not crossroads, but just this it's a hard
- 19:10Speaker 4: decision to make when you need you need to turn
- 19:12Speaker 4: the franchise around, you need, you know, Girod talked a
- 19:14Speaker 4: little about the offense. What does the offense need, Like
- 19:15Speaker 4: I mean, in a perfect world, you can draft that
- 19:17Speaker 4: quarterback that you can march out there, just like they
- 19:20Speaker 4: did with Mac And it was like wow, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 4: you just felt this new energy and this is a
- 19:23Speaker 4: new team now and this guy's gonna lead us, and
- 19:26Speaker 4: you know it's it's I can see how a new
- 19:29Speaker 4: group would want to make that pick and not try
- 19:31Speaker 4: to come out and sell the we need to draft
- 19:33Speaker 4: the tackle guys, like you know, even with the wide receiver.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It's like, but even even even in a collaborative environment,
- 19:39Speaker 1: which is good at the end of the day, not
- 19:43Speaker 1: there's no way you can always agree on everything, right.
- 19:46Speaker 1: At some point, somebody's got to make the decision, right,
- 19:48Speaker 1: you know, even to the stupid things like we do
- 19:51Speaker 1: you know, I try to be as collaborative as possible
- 19:53Speaker 1: include people. But there's sometimes where I just have to say, Okay,
- 19:56Speaker 1: this is what we're gonna do.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Yeah, right, you know the decider, you gotta have the designer.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Right, friend's right, Like what happens if Okay, so we'll
- 20:05Speaker 3: go back to Gerard's sort of you know comment to
- 20:10Speaker 3: Steve Burton, you know, which may or may not have
- 20:12Speaker 3: been one hundred percent serious. So let's just say that. Okay,
- 20:18Speaker 3: you know we're all in agreement. Right, we got to
- 20:19Speaker 3: take a quarterback. But what if Gerard likes Jaydon Daniels
- 20:22Speaker 3: and you know, Elliott Wolf likes Drake may or what
- 20:26Speaker 3: if someone else comes in, What if Matt grow comes
- 20:28Speaker 3: in and says, you know what, neither one of these
- 20:30Speaker 3: two guys in the answer, We need to do everything
- 20:31Speaker 3: we can to trade up and get Caleb Williams, who
- 20:35Speaker 3: makes the final call as to what you're going to do.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Not to mention all the personal angles that everyone's going
- 20:39Speaker 4: to have. For Elliot Wolf might be making this pick
- 20:42Speaker 4: to get the job. Gerard needs long term success. He
- 20:45Speaker 4: needs to put you know that, and and and I
- 20:47Speaker 4: also can't help but look at it through Gerard's defense guy,
- 20:50Speaker 4: Is he really going to draft an offensive lineman? You know,
- 20:52Speaker 4: like it's just like as a defensive offensive lineman, like
- 20:55Speaker 4: you know, I don't know. It's just all those kind
- 20:57Speaker 4: of bias and and and you know experience that you
- 21:00Speaker 4: have when then the game comes into play. It's uh tough.
- 21:04Speaker 4: I just found it hard to be like, does Gerard
- 21:05Speaker 4: have any clue who they're gonna pick at this point?
- 21:07Speaker 4: Like I don't know. Part of me wonders if he
- 21:10Speaker 4: got a little bit over his skis on that one.
- 21:12Speaker 4: And it was kind of a lesson of you can't
- 21:13Speaker 4: really play coy with this because everyone's going to read
- 21:17Speaker 4: into it what they want to. And like I said,
- 21:18Speaker 4: everything's dissected. You gotta be.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Careful, I'm gonna say, and you guys are gonna laugh
- 21:23Speaker 3: at me and say, what the hell is he talking about.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I think that there were times yesterday when Gerard was
- 21:28Speaker 3: so intent on showing you how he is the anti
- 21:31Speaker 3: Belichick that he probably got himself well the situation.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Came out and said it. He came out and said,
- 21:36Speaker 4: you can probably tell just by listening to me right now.
- 21:39Speaker 3: It's another to me, unnecessary shot. But I do think
- 21:44Speaker 3: that he was so intent on coming across in a
- 21:46Speaker 3: different way that maybe he ends up saying, you know,
- 21:50Speaker 3: it's gonna be an important position.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I just hope that what we saw yesterday is drawn Mayo.
- 21:56Speaker 1: In other words, that's who he is, and he's not
- 22:00Speaker 1: putting on a show. You know, I think no one,
- 22:03Speaker 1: no one succeeds if they're not true to themselves. You know,
- 22:07Speaker 1: players can see through that in an instant. They know
- 22:10Speaker 1: when you're bs ing them, they know when you're putting
- 22:13Speaker 1: on a show. You know, they know when you know,
- 22:16Speaker 1: Matt Patricia comes in wants to be mister tough guy
- 22:19Speaker 1: in Detroit, and guys aren't buying it because they can
- 22:23Speaker 1: tell that's that's not offen.
- 22:24Speaker 3: People ask me, right, you know, like what were you
- 22:27Speaker 3: what were your impressions? And that was the first Really
- 22:29Speaker 3: my only takeaway is that he was intent on showing
- 22:33Speaker 3: everybody that he is not going to fall into the
- 22:35Speaker 3: trap that McDaniels did, that, Mangenie did that, as Fred
- 22:40Speaker 3: just alluded to Matt Patricia did. He's not going to
- 22:43Speaker 3: try to be Bill. He's not going to replicate He's
- 22:45Speaker 3: not going to try to replicate how Bill did everything.
- 22:48Speaker 3: But you know, that was that was painfully obvious yesterday.
- 22:50Speaker 1: But I'm also saying, if that is your tendency, then
- 22:53Speaker 1: you should lean into that. Don't worry about being, you know,
- 22:57Speaker 1: a disciplinarian if that's who you truly are, are you.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Know, because that's what your point about. I hope that's. Yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 3: that's he's not trying to put on a show.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Because it's it's no good if you're like mister player's
- 23:07Speaker 1: coach and then you're one and four and all of
- 23:09Speaker 1: a sudden you turn into you know, sergeant, sergeant whatever.
- 23:14Speaker 1: You know, that's not good either. You have to be consistent. Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 4: No, he seems like he has a pretty good sense
- 23:20Speaker 4: of who he is. And I mean just over the
- 23:22Speaker 4: last two years, whenever we've talked to him, it's always
- 23:24Speaker 4: when I get my own ship or so, it just
- 23:26Speaker 4: seems like mentally he has been preparing for this and
- 23:30Speaker 4: you know, understands everything that comes with it. But even
- 23:32Speaker 4: if you understand it, it's overwhelming. And I think, as
- 23:35Speaker 4: we saw yesterday, the smallest little misstep with your words
- 23:39Speaker 4: can kind of come back to bite you a little bit.
- 23:41Speaker 4: And it's it's the hard part of this job is
- 23:42Speaker 4: everything you do is under the spotlight now, yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Yep, and you know, I you know, I hope that
- 23:49Speaker 1: like if he's getting feedback, oh you should have said that,
- 23:51Speaker 1: should have said that, that that that doesn't discourage him,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and that all of a sudden now he's clamming up,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you know, just do it in a more thoughtful, thoughtful way,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you know. You know, Parcels always said I'm in the
- 24:04Speaker 1: business of getting information, not giving it, and that should
- 24:07Speaker 1: hold true for every coach. But there's a way to
- 24:11Speaker 1: you know, give information without giving information and still being friendly,
- 24:15Speaker 1: you know, so we'll see. It's it's a whole new world.
- 24:18Speaker 3: There's a million reasons why, you know, we're all rooting
- 24:21Speaker 3: to work, but to me, as big as any is
- 24:24Speaker 3: just to show that you don't have to do it the.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Other way, right, there's different ways to do it.
- 24:29Speaker 3: You don't have to be you know, secretive with absolutely
- 24:33Speaker 3: everything that you have. I'm not telling you to give
- 24:36Speaker 3: us the game plan, no one's looking for that. But
- 24:39Speaker 3: you can be like Girod was yesterday and that doesn't
- 24:41Speaker 3: sacrifice your chances of winning.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I agree, And especially as we've gotten into
- 24:45Speaker 4: where the team hasn't been as good and it's you know,
- 24:48Speaker 4: having a finger on every single detail. It's like, man,
- 24:51Speaker 4: like you're losing the forest for the trees here. We're
- 24:54Speaker 4: you know, trying to break down these little nuances and
- 24:56Speaker 4: it's like, just get the special teams to not you know,
- 24:59Speaker 4: top the ball up or turnover. But I I think
- 25:02Speaker 4: he's I think he's he's doing it the right way
- 25:04Speaker 4: at least to start. But it's you know, there's a
- 25:06Speaker 4: lot of challenges and you know, I I'm trying to
- 25:09Speaker 4: think of what else you know, kind of stuck out
- 25:11Speaker 4: to me, just uh, like the weight room stuff. I
- 25:13Speaker 4: don't know, there's just some interesting things that kind of
- 25:15Speaker 4: pop through that you're like, what what's that mean? You know,
- 25:18Speaker 4: the little little nuggets like those Deron Mayo And if.
- 25:22Speaker 3: You think about it, you know that you know Vinci code.
- 25:26Speaker 4: But even Felgrim as you know, getting into the squats
- 25:28Speaker 4: and all that. You know, the word squats gets in
- 25:30Speaker 4: and you know or well, we know that that was
- 25:31Speaker 4: kind of the.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Old coach about Yeah, that's kind of some of the
- 25:36Speaker 3: things that I'm talking about.
- 25:37Speaker 4: You know, was it on purpose or you know, because
- 25:39Speaker 4: sometimes these things it seems like but you know, it's
- 25:41Speaker 4: like you want. Sometimes I wonder, I'm like, are these
- 25:43Speaker 4: just are talking points? Like are these things that they
- 25:45Speaker 4: even really cross these guys? Right?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Aar.
- 25:47Speaker 4: But I think what that, you know, showed me that yes,
- 25:49Speaker 4: yes it does. And I mean I think there was
- 25:51Speaker 4: an effort to, like to Paul's point, to try to
- 25:54Speaker 4: you know, see things are going to be a little different.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean, I would think that, you know, he didn't
- 25:58Speaker 1: elaborate on it, but when he's talk about weight room,
- 26:00Speaker 1: it's how hard are you doing the things that you
- 26:03Speaker 1: need to be doing? Like not everybody needs to be
- 26:05Speaker 1: doing squads, maybe you need to be doing something else,
- 26:08Speaker 1: but are you working hard at that something else? You know?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Because when you're in the weight room, you know, you
- 26:13Speaker 1: fool around, you listen to music, you know, but you're
- 26:16Speaker 1: in there to do to achieve a goal, to get bigger.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Is that what you're doing you know or whatever? You know?
- 26:23Speaker 3: So I should go I'd like flowing around.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Maybe over his years he's learned that you do learn
- 26:31Speaker 1: a lot from a guy and how he does his
- 26:35Speaker 1: work in the weight room, you know, maybe that's his experience.
- 26:39Speaker 1: So I look again, I go back to what I said.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I I get comfort that Robert Kraft without ever seeing
- 26:49Speaker 1: this guy be a head coach, believes that he can
- 26:53Speaker 1: be a head coach, you know, because a lot is
- 26:56Speaker 1: riding on this for him, a lot.
- 26:58Speaker 4: And I seem to identify it pretty quick. I mean,
- 27:01Speaker 4: clearly knew him as a player. But then I mean
- 27:03Speaker 4: what I mean, he came back here in like March
- 27:04Speaker 4: of twenty nineteen. I think they went to Israel sometime
- 27:07Speaker 4: later that spring, so I mean it was, you know,
- 27:09Speaker 4: it had to be on his mind pretty quick, that
- 27:11Speaker 4: this guy. And I mean, you know, as you've been saying, Fred,
- 27:13Speaker 4: it's you know, what are those traits? What are those
- 27:15Speaker 4: things that that make somebody, you know, a leader? And
- 27:17Speaker 4: everyone just says, oh, he's a leader, he's a leader.
- 27:19Speaker 4: What you know? What is it?
- 27:20Speaker 1: Right?
- 27:20Speaker 4: I think Evan's back in the back room trying to
- 27:22Speaker 4: trying to dial down on that with with some of
- 27:24Speaker 4: his old teammates. So maybe he'll have an answer, yeap,
- 27:27Speaker 4: all right?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Eight five to five PATS five hundred is the Ace
- 27:29Speaker 1: ticket houtline. Web radio at Patriots dot com is the
- 27:33Speaker 1: email address. Other news, uh Bill. The Cowboys have officially
- 27:39Speaker 1: said that they're not getting rid of their coach. Doesn't
- 27:43Speaker 1: look like the Eagles are either. Because Siriani is doing
- 27:46Speaker 1: interviews for coaches.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I hold off on that one.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, I.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Already did that. They did that with Doug Peterson.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Oh is that right?
- 27:54Speaker 3: And they didn't get the answers they were looking for
- 27:56Speaker 3: and then they fined. Right, So we'll see. Maybe Siriani
- 27:59Speaker 3: has the right answer.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Maybe, but I still think that Atlanta's the best options.
- 28:03Speaker 3: You know, we had another in second.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think, you know, for Bill, this
- 28:11Speaker 1: is the most upside, uh with the least downside. If
- 28:15Speaker 1: you go to Dallas and you don't do better than
- 28:18Speaker 1: what they've been doing, then you know, are you really
- 28:21Speaker 1: that good? And even if well, if you go to
- 28:23Speaker 1: Atlanta and you make the playoffs, oh my god, you're
- 28:25Speaker 1: the best.
- 28:26Speaker 3: If you go to Dallas and you and you do
- 28:28Speaker 3: really well, there will be naysayers that say, well, yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 3: you needed to go and get the ready made team,
- 28:32Speaker 3: right right. You just you know, you're a better coach
- 28:34Speaker 3: than Mike McCarthy, so you put him over the top.
- 28:36Speaker 3: And no one would argue that he's not a vastly
- 28:38Speaker 3: superior coach to Mike McCarthy, you know, except for now
- 28:41Speaker 3: all Patriots fans, but you know, you know what I'm saying.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I'm just so interested to see what what he installs
- 28:47Speaker 4: and is it, you know, the full Bill Belichick regime.
- 28:51Speaker 4: You know, this is how everything's going to be from
- 28:53Speaker 4: the top to the very bottom or is it gonna be? Look,
- 28:56Speaker 4: I don't I mean I was reading a little bit
- 28:58Speaker 4: about Atlanta's GM on office structure and how they have
- 29:01Speaker 4: decision making, you know, I mean, is it it almost?
- 29:04Speaker 4: I mean we talked about there's no way it was
- 29:05Speaker 4: gonna happen here. You were gonna take personal away from him.
- 29:08Speaker 4: But it's almost like, wouldn't he love to just like
- 29:10Speaker 4: just focus on coaching the team? Don't you know, have
- 29:12Speaker 4: to worry about everything. I just I wonder where he's at.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Or he looks at that that way and says, yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 3: I I need to say, but I don't have to
- 29:20Speaker 3: have thus say, and you know, just give me control
- 29:24Speaker 3: of the team, you know, I mean, whereas that wasn't
- 29:27Speaker 3: going to be the same here.
- 29:28Speaker 4: He's like b Jeon Robinson anything.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there's been a lot of talk about like he
- 29:32Speaker 1: could never do that here because he had it and
- 29:34Speaker 1: it would be something that was taken away, whereas if
- 29:36Speaker 1: he goes to another team, he doesn't have anything anything,
- 29:39Speaker 1: it's all new, and so he might be willing to
- 29:42Speaker 1: settle for not full control. But you know, if he
- 29:46Speaker 1: stays true to himself, he knows that's the way to
- 29:48Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, yeah, that any team needs that person who.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Has also, don't forget that he's yeah, I agree, but
- 29:56Speaker 3: don't forget that he's probably what is he looking at it?
- 29:59Speaker 3: Two year window?
- 30:00Speaker 1: No, but he wants to win.
- 30:01Speaker 3: No, No, I know, so he's gonna say, yeah, I
- 30:03Speaker 3: don't need that, but he's going to do it. Yeah,
- 30:05Speaker 3: it's you know what I.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Mean, because he believes that's the way to win.
- 30:08Speaker 7: Right.
- 30:08Speaker 3: But we can have like we can butt heads for
- 30:12Speaker 3: a couple of years and by the time you know,
- 30:14Speaker 3: those really become problems, I'm ready to go. Yeah. It's
- 30:17Speaker 3: like point right.
- 30:18Speaker 1: It's like everyone says, oh, Parcels went to Dallas and
- 30:21Speaker 1: everything was fabulous. No, it wasn't. There was a reason
- 30:24Speaker 1: he left.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Oh no, you know it was fine. That was a
- 30:27Speaker 3: short term. That was like an arranged marriage. That was
- 30:29Speaker 3: all for the that was all for the stadium, right, it.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Will that it wouldn't have lasted beyond.
- 30:33Speaker 3: No, but they both sides went in knowing it.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Yeah, And Parcels does say it was it worked fine.
- 30:40Speaker 3: He thinks that Bill would have been fine there, and
- 30:41Speaker 3: I agree, yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Because period exactly.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I don't think Bill could go to work
- 30:47Speaker 3: for Jerry Jones for twenty four years and have it worked.
- 30:50Speaker 4: No, I don't think that would anybody could. Do You
- 30:52Speaker 4: think big Gym is going to get an Atlanta Falcons
- 30:54Speaker 4: hoodie to kind of troll.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Then no, because he's team Tom.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Team just didn't know if that's you know, I would
- 31:01Speaker 4: call him out.
- 31:03Speaker 3: You remind me, I'll call him for you. I know,
- 31:05Speaker 3: you get your feelings shirt on those things.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Well, you know that's another thing. You know. We'll get
- 31:11Speaker 1: to the calls and emails in a minute. But the
- 31:13Speaker 1: feeling that we had when Tom left verse the feeling
- 31:17Speaker 1: that we have or versus is a.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Verse versus versus unless you're a kid verse.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, let versus the feeling we have now with Bill leaving.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And I would say with Tom leaving, we were much
- 31:32Speaker 1: more sensitive about did he say goodbye? Did he say
- 31:35Speaker 1: he loves us? And with Bill not so much of that. Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 1: you know I would say, I mean, because he never
- 31:42Speaker 1: gave us that anyway, you know, it's great.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Did get choked up when he talked about the fans?
- 31:46Speaker 1: No, I know he did, But I'm just talking about
- 31:48Speaker 1: fans like like, oh, is he gonna is he gonna
- 31:51Speaker 1: say goodbye to us? Is he going to do this?
- 31:52Speaker 3: But that's my point is Bill did do that. That's
- 31:56Speaker 3: the part that he got emotional lot.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I feel a lot different about this,
- 32:00Speaker 4: and like like I'm kind of like Evan was, like,
- 32:02Speaker 4: just the sight of Brady in the Tampa uniform, it's
- 32:04Speaker 4: just right.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Will you have the feeling if you don't think I will?
- 32:08Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think so either.
- 32:10Speaker 3: What was worse for you seeing Brady in the Tampa
- 32:13Speaker 3: or seeing him in the Patriots.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Which hates him anyway?
- 32:20Speaker 3: You good, Peter Brady distracted?
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you walked on your own joke. But I don't
- 32:29Speaker 1: think people will be that upset seeing him in the Falcons. Now,
- 32:33Speaker 1: if he wins a Super Bowl, that could be a
- 32:35Speaker 1: different story, you know, but just seeing him on the
- 32:39Speaker 1: sideline and winning games, I don't think people will have
- 32:42Speaker 1: the the reaction that they did with Braid.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't feel the emotional investment of it.
- 32:48Speaker 4: I don't know what it is at this point. I
- 32:49Speaker 4: just I kind of like would just I'm more curious.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I'm more curious than anything of just to see what
- 32:55Speaker 4: it looks like somewhere else with him, because Tom was Tom.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Tom's gonna go down there, He's going to be Tom.
- 33:00Speaker 4: He's gonna do Tom. But like Bill, like does it
- 33:04Speaker 4: completely not work?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Like I don't know, Like Brady's first game and I remember,
- 33:08Speaker 3: I want to say it was New Orleans, but I
- 33:10Speaker 3: remember really looking forward to that first game. I wanted
- 33:12Speaker 3: to see what it looked like. I wanted to see
- 33:14Speaker 3: if he could still play. And you know, like those games.
- 33:16Speaker 3: You remember that first year that they lined it up
- 33:19Speaker 3: so they would double headers every week, you know it
- 33:21Speaker 3: was Patriots and then yeah, Bucks almost every week and
- 33:24Speaker 3: we would glued to the red zone. I don't have
- 33:27Speaker 3: that for Bill, And I don't know if it's just
- 33:29Speaker 3: because it's a coach.
- 33:30Speaker 4: He's just standing there on the side and you.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Don't have the same But you know, yeah, I'll be
- 33:35Speaker 3: keeping track of whether or not he wins. I'm not
- 33:37Speaker 3: going to say I'm I don't care but I don't
- 33:40Speaker 3: really care. I don't It's not as important to me.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Does this team buy into what he's selling? I mean,
- 33:45Speaker 4: are they still you know, do their.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I'd like to see, you know, the things that I'm
- 33:49Speaker 3: interested in is does he try to play the same
- 33:53Speaker 3: way Robinson? Well, no, you know for him it would
- 33:57Speaker 3: be no be Jahn Robinson, you're too town. Did you
- 34:00Speaker 3: go sit over there? Algier, you go sit over there,
- 34:03Speaker 3: cord Aero Patterson, You're going to be my jack of
- 34:05Speaker 3: all trades because you play on all four downs, You're
- 34:08Speaker 3: going to get the majority of time.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Like right, just totally up the alp Car obviously for.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Those of you out here that you know that the
- 34:15Speaker 3: the died in the world. But Bill, guys, I'm joking.
- 34:17Speaker 3: I'm making an exaggeration to prove a point. But I mean,
- 34:21Speaker 3: does he try to They have a good like Atlanta? Okay,
- 34:25Speaker 3: they do have a really good defense, like on paper. Now,
- 34:28Speaker 3: I'm not going to pretend to tell you that I
- 34:30Speaker 3: can give you the too deep you know, I mean
- 34:32Speaker 3: a j Terrell. You know that's you know, that's about
- 34:34Speaker 3: as far as I go, Like, I don't know all
- 34:36Speaker 3: the personnel. I know, Jesse Bates. You know that secondary
- 34:39Speaker 3: they played really well last year. That to me, that's
- 34:44Speaker 3: what he wants to do. I want to lean on
- 34:45Speaker 3: this defense and if I can get a quarterback, if
- 34:47Speaker 3: Desmond Ritter is the guy, and I can find a
- 34:50Speaker 3: way to make him not make any mistakes and we
- 34:52Speaker 3: you know, I think I can win doing that. And
- 34:55Speaker 3: does he continue to play that way or does he say,
- 34:57Speaker 3: you know what, that's how they played last year, That
- 35:00Speaker 3: how Arthur Smith plays. They ran the ball, they played defense,
- 35:05Speaker 3: and they went seven and ten. Yeah, so does he
- 35:08Speaker 3: try to do it different?
- 35:09Speaker 1: Kathy in Texas wants to know Mike which one of
- 35:13Speaker 1: uh ask Mike which one of his friends in Atlanta
- 35:16Speaker 1: will be taking over the hoodie database. She just loved
- 35:20Speaker 1: this effing show so much.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 35:22Speaker 3: That's not very nicely said too.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I like that.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a good question.
- 35:27Speaker 9: Sometimes you have friends in Atlanta.
- 35:29Speaker 4: I don't. But I can always just look at a
- 35:30Speaker 4: picture and see what he's wearing him right down.
- 35:32Speaker 1: You can keep it up.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I don't have to write.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Should you put an add out for a freelancer?
- 35:38Speaker 1: You just have to have an ask Rick on all
- 35:40Speaker 1: the entries from this point.
- 35:42Speaker 3: On, I suppose I should twenty five dollars a week
- 35:45Speaker 3: must watch beginning of Falcons game report on a tire.
- 35:49Speaker 1: It was, it was.
- 35:49Speaker 4: I mean, this was the most lackluster hoodie sees. I mean,
- 35:52Speaker 4: I don't have to tell you, guys, I'm sure you're
- 35:53Speaker 4: well aware of it already, but the most lackluster hoodie
- 35:56Speaker 4: to all time. Like he just I mean, he wore
- 35:59Speaker 4: that won a couple of times. There was no real
- 36:01Speaker 4: blast in the past. Maybe one time.
- 36:03Speaker 1: But what if in Atlanti starts wearing a suit on
- 36:05Speaker 1: the sidelines. Well, you know, that's just complete one eighty.
- 36:09Speaker 4: It's one of life's great questions. Fred of why did
- 36:11Speaker 4: Bill just all of a sudden this year decide to
- 36:13Speaker 4: wear button down shirts to button down shirt, rolled up
- 36:16Speaker 4: sleeves every press conference.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I have a theory. M yeah, it's a conspiracy theory.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I like it. He didn't want to wear Patriots stuff anymore,
- 36:23Speaker 1: not that he ever did. Sometimes he turned it out
- 36:26Speaker 1: inside out, but at least you knew you'd see the
- 36:28Speaker 1: sitrat He didn't. He wanted completely to not wear any
- 36:31Speaker 1: Patriot stuff. So this was the way. You say, well,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I'm wearing button down that's a good way of doing
- 36:36Speaker 1: it without, you know, just wearing a sweatshirt.
- 36:38Speaker 4: I'll just look presentable, right, So that's you.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Know, But really it was because he didn't want to
- 36:43Speaker 1: wear the logo.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Yeah, oh down the rabbit hole, you know me.
- 36:47Speaker 3: I like to send the messages, but I mean, like
- 36:49Speaker 3: the whole years.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Go ahead, yeah, go ahead. Yeah. By the way, I
- 36:55Speaker 1: have a newfound appreciation for Hardy. I found out yesterday
- 37:00Speaker 1: morning that he's into magic and I am too. Really,
- 37:05Speaker 1: I'm proud to say it. I'm not afraid to say it.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Can you do well?
- 37:09Speaker 1: I have an extensive collection of tricks really, yeah, I'm
- 37:13Speaker 1: more of a gadget guy, like close up magic type
- 37:16Speaker 1: of stuff. But I don't have them from video.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Now we need to see this.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I don't have to excuse me. I'm getting all choked up.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I don't have the patience to get really good at
- 37:26Speaker 1: it because you know, you just did. I just love
- 37:30Speaker 1: to do it and find out how it works, you know.
- 37:34Speaker 1: But I've never had any designs like, oh, I'm gonna
- 37:37Speaker 1: did you get an act together?
- 37:38Speaker 4: You didn't have a magician name picked out yet?
- 37:40Speaker 7: Well?
- 37:41Speaker 1: Was Jake Steele back then too? Yeah? But no, I
- 37:44Speaker 1: just I've always I've always loved magic tricks and little
- 37:48Speaker 1: gadgets and stuff like that. And Hardy used to be
- 37:52Speaker 1: a magician's assistant. He was on the road like women,
- 37:55Speaker 1: they tore it all over and he was their stage. Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Really, we're going to ask him about this. I'm never
- 38:01Speaker 4: gonna see him again.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Uh. You know Magic Castle in LA that's a that's
- 38:05Speaker 4: a popular oh yeah, secret kind of but there's some
- 38:08Speaker 4: crazy close up magicians yeah there that they get for
- 38:11Speaker 4: like rap parties and stuff, and you just love that
- 38:13Speaker 4: walking around and they would, yeah, you know, come up
- 38:16Speaker 4: to you and.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's mostly car tricks.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Yeah yeah.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Is that like the guy that does the NFL stuff?
- 38:21Speaker 3: Is that different?
- 38:22Speaker 1: Who's that?
- 38:23Speaker 3: Who's that? I don't know?
- 38:24Speaker 1: Oh he's the mentalist. Oh yeah, yeah no, that's that's
- 38:26Speaker 1: a different type of magic. But it's the same idea.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It is magic, right, it's all magic.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Okay, I don't know what it is. But he comes
- 38:33Speaker 4: to a lot of those NFL teams and it's like how.
- 38:35Speaker 3: They like, that's what's your pin?
- 38:37Speaker 4: Like what's your phone? Like what's your ATM pin? Just
- 38:39Speaker 4: don't tell me, just yeah. But there's like seven nine
- 38:41Speaker 4: to five, like everything.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Comes down to the umbrella of magic. But then there's
- 38:44Speaker 1: close up magic. There's mentalist magic, there's illusionists where you
- 38:48Speaker 1: get the big stage production right, you know, but they're
- 38:52Speaker 1: all magic, you know, the David Blaine type stuff where
- 38:56Speaker 1: he you know, freezes himself for twenty days.
- 38:58Speaker 4: He holds his breath in a really long time. Yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 4: but I don't know.
- 39:03Speaker 1: You know, if I knew that with Hardy, I would
- 39:04Speaker 1: have had this whole line of comment. We wouldn't just
- 39:06Speaker 1: be able to talk about music. We could talk about
- 39:08Speaker 1: magic man. We could do the trade and then we
- 39:11Speaker 1: could talk about it.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Says he knows some magic, so Hardy would have had
- 39:14Speaker 4: some Yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Yeah. And he was a juggler too, like a really
- 39:19Speaker 1: good juggler, and like he wrote her unicycles, basically, he
- 39:23Speaker 1: wanted to be a clown when he was young.
- 39:26Speaker 4: I'm a good juggler.
- 39:27Speaker 1: You're a good juggler. I can juggle pretty well, nice,
- 39:31Speaker 1: like you feel like chainsaws and stuff on fire.
- 39:35Speaker 10: And all that.
- 39:35Speaker 5: I've never tried that, but I probably could give it
- 39:37Speaker 5: to me.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Really, you're that good.
- 39:38Speaker 5: We had a teacher when I was in the fifth grade.
- 39:41Speaker 5: She left and we had a fill in for the
- 39:42Speaker 5: year in whose secondary job was a clown for Barnum
- 39:45Speaker 5: and Bailey.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Oh wow.
- 39:46Speaker 3: She taught the entire class to juggle.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I could see uh Afghanistan like juggling rocket launchers, you know,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and like explosives. Yeah, grenades. Let's take the pin out
- 39:57Speaker 1: of this one. Let's see.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Yeah, let's make sure it's in the air when it
- 40:01Speaker 3: goes off.
- 40:02Speaker 1: All right? All right? So eight five five pass five
- 40:05Speaker 1: hundred is the a sticked hotline web radio at pages
- 40:07Speaker 1: dot com. Let's get to the phones. We'll start with
- 40:10Speaker 1: Nate in Ohio. What's up, Nate, Nate? I love this, Nate.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Nate.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Well, we just mentioned Hardy, so that had to happen.
- 40:21Speaker 1: All right, Nate, call back if you can. Todd is
- 40:24Speaker 1: in Gardner, North Carolina.
- 40:26Speaker 11: Todd, gentlemen, how are you doing?
- 40:28Speaker 1: Good talk?
- 40:30Speaker 12: I got two.
- 40:31Speaker 13: Little things that have kind of concerned me about this
- 40:34Speaker 13: moving forwards here with Mayo. Number one, I listened Toggression
- 40:38Speaker 13: for you in a little bit of Andy, and they
- 40:42Speaker 13: felt that there was not enough substance with where the
- 40:45Speaker 13: team is going and how to move it forwards and
- 40:48Speaker 13: who's going to be doing what he said, where's the plan?
- 40:51Speaker 13: And they all they heard was I'm going to evaluate
- 40:54Speaker 13: the team. I'm going to evaluate the team, and that
- 40:57Speaker 13: makes me nervous and leads into my second point, and
- 41:00Speaker 13: I'll take your answers to both these off the air.
- 41:03Speaker 13: My second point is it really feels weirdly like here,
- 41:07Speaker 13: I'll put it out there. I'm going, if if mac
- 41:11Speaker 13: Jones is not on the team starting next season, like
- 41:16Speaker 13: not as the starter, but on the team somehow somewhere,
- 41:18Speaker 13: I'll buy you guys lunch, because it just feels like
- 41:21Speaker 13: they're the way they attack Bill, the way they said
- 41:23Speaker 13: they know, we got to evaluate everybody here, it's like,
- 41:26Speaker 13: we know what we're doing. Bill's out of the office. Now,
- 41:29Speaker 13: you know we got this. This is going to go on.
- 41:31Speaker 13: And it's almost as if they're especially Mayo, felt like
- 41:34Speaker 13: they had to prove something now and I'm like, guys,
- 41:37Speaker 13: just get rid of mag Jones. We start just focus
- 41:40Speaker 13: on offense. And that's kind of my fear that they
- 41:43Speaker 13: think that they can do something and I'm worried about that.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Okay, take care, guys. Thanks listen. I understand people want answers,
- 41:51Speaker 1: but I also understand that he probably is looking at
- 41:55Speaker 1: everybody that's currently on the staff, and do I keep
- 41:58Speaker 1: this person or do I not? If you start talking
- 42:02Speaker 1: about how you're going to change the offense all of
- 42:05Speaker 1: a sudden, if it's you know, I'd love to do
- 42:08Speaker 1: more mobility. Mac Jones knows he doesn't have a giant
- 42:11Speaker 1: you know, so like you can't get too specific yet
- 42:15Speaker 1: or else. It has a trickle down effect to individuals
- 42:19Speaker 1: who may or may not be here. So it is
- 42:21Speaker 1: too early for him to give you those details now.
- 42:23Speaker 1: If a month from now we still have the same
- 42:25Speaker 1: questions now, I'm worried. Yeah, but I would hope that
- 42:29Speaker 1: in short order a lot of this stuff starts to
- 42:32Speaker 1: get revealed to us.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Yeah, something's working on. I mean, I was, I mean,
- 42:35Speaker 4: I was just a little bit more encouraged that it
- 42:37Speaker 4: sounded like they might actually look outside and hire some people.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Like to me, going into that press conference yesterday, which
- 42:43Speaker 4: is what it was, it was a press conference, I
- 42:44Speaker 4: didn't expect them to you know, chart out the whole plan.
- 42:47Speaker 4: But at least I felt like it seems like they're
- 42:50Speaker 4: going to be interviewing people, They're going to still be
- 42:51Speaker 4: considering people. It didn't feel like a possibility to me
- 42:53Speaker 4: heading in, it seemed like they were basically just gonna
- 42:55Speaker 4: run it back.
- 42:55Speaker 3: With what I'm with, Fred, it's too early, like I
- 42:59Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think they could. Sis is wrong
- 43:01Speaker 3: because they didn't give you anything yesterday. But it's too
- 43:04Speaker 3: early to be worried about it because they don't have
- 43:06Speaker 3: anything to give you yet. And I think they're going
- 43:09Speaker 3: to go outside too. I don't think they have a choice.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I think all the offensive guys are gone. They're not
- 43:13Speaker 3: coming back. That I don't think Bill O'Brien wants to
- 43:16Speaker 3: come back. So you either going to get a new
- 43:19Speaker 3: offensive coordinator or van put someone that's staying on defense
- 43:25Speaker 3: and make them the offensive coordinator. I mean, I just
- 43:28Speaker 3: don't think they're going to have any options.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Yeah, And I mean and that in itself, I just
- 43:31Speaker 4: feel like is automatically kind of refreshing to just get
- 43:34Speaker 4: off of the offensive coordinators that you've had for the
- 43:37Speaker 4: past what twenty years. I mean, those two guys have
- 43:39Speaker 4: been the offensive coordinators for twenty years.
- 43:41Speaker 3: It's only refreshing if they didn't want them, right, Like,
- 43:45Speaker 3: I just wonder if, well, if given their option, would
- 43:48Speaker 3: they be running it back. That's, you know, to Todd's
- 43:51Speaker 3: second point about Mac Jones. Yeah, and that would concern me.
- 43:54Speaker 4: I mean another part of it too, is you know
- 43:56Speaker 4: Toroy Brown being named offensive coordinator of the Senior Bowl, Like,
- 44:00Speaker 4: does that say anything about his job status right now?
- 44:03Speaker 4: I mean it seems like he would be a person
- 44:05Speaker 4: who'd be at the forefront of some of these decisions
- 44:07Speaker 4: that have to be made. And you know, on one hand, Troy,
- 44:09Speaker 4: I mean he was what he head coach last year
- 44:11Speaker 4: at the Shrine Bowl. He's an offensive cocordate for the
- 44:13Speaker 4: Senior Bowl. I mean it shows that the league is,
- 44:15Speaker 4: you know, taking notice of him. I'm tiredly sure why,
- 44:18Speaker 4: but you know, we'll see how. How was Senior Bowl
- 44:21Speaker 4: seems I just I thought that was interesting yesterday and
- 44:24Speaker 4: I wonder how that's going to play out.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Let's go to Jay in Minnesota. What's up, Jay?
- 44:31Speaker 11: Hello, guys, second time calling in. I had a couple
- 44:35Speaker 11: of questions. I had seen that Julian Edelman was talking
- 44:38Speaker 11: about the top five PAT teams of all time. Yeah,
- 44:42Speaker 11: and I think his list was number five oh one
- 44:44Speaker 11: and then four oh seven, sixteen and then fourteen. I
- 44:49Speaker 11: kind of agree. I would like to see your thoughts
- 44:51Speaker 11: on that. And then to my actual question, how aggressive
- 44:56Speaker 11: do you think that Jeron Male would be in the
- 44:59Speaker 11: draft trading? Do you see him taking what comes to
- 45:02Speaker 11: him in terms of quarterback and weapons or I don't know.
- 45:08Speaker 11: I feel like he might be aggressive and.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I don't know either. Yeah, yeah, I don't know, Like
- 45:13Speaker 1: there's nothing that I have no indicator about whether he's
- 45:16Speaker 1: a trade up guy, a stay put guy, a trade
- 45:18Speaker 1: down guy. I don't know.
- 45:21Speaker 11: Would you like to see him take the people that
- 45:24Speaker 11: come to him, Like if it ends up being Caleb
- 45:26Speaker 11: Williams and then Drake Made, do you want to take
- 45:28Speaker 11: Jane Daniels or.
- 45:30Speaker 7: No, I may be back.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Tell me who's available, tell me, like, let me see
- 45:35Speaker 1: their board.
- 45:36Speaker 4: You know.
- 45:36Speaker 1: It's so you know when you talk about that with
- 45:39Speaker 1: the draft, there's no like, oh they should always stay
- 45:43Speaker 1: put or should they should always be aggressive? It really
- 45:45Speaker 1: depends on your scouting.
- 45:46Speaker 3: It's hard at three, right, because you know the three
- 45:49Speaker 3: guys that you're doing, So it's the one you like
- 45:51Speaker 3: the best. I would like Caleb Williams the best out
- 45:53Speaker 3: of those three. So yeah, I'd be interested in trading,
- 45:55Speaker 3: but at what cost? Like it's it's never just in
- 45:59Speaker 3: a vacuum.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, so you don't want to.
- 46:02Speaker 11: Have a bad draft, you know, right on his first year.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 46:05Speaker 11: And then my last question and not take it off there,
- 46:09Speaker 11: what do you think the expectations are in your eyes?
- 46:11Speaker 11: And then from Robert Kraft? Do you just want to
- 46:13Speaker 11: see a better season than last year in a little
- 46:15Speaker 11: progression or do you think that Robert is expecting, you know,
- 46:18Speaker 11: a whole new overhaul and maybe even making the playoffs.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I don't think he's expecting the ladder.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I don't think it's fair to expect that anyway. But
- 46:27Speaker 1: you know, personally, I want to see a team that's
- 46:31Speaker 1: playing together, not making the mistakes that they made last year.
- 46:37Speaker 1: You know, you're upgrading your personnel, You're in the right direction,
- 46:42Speaker 1: and hopefully you got a quarterback of the future.
- 46:44Speaker 3: More young guys would promise, and a plan on offense.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, talent in place.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I don't care what the record is, honestly.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't mention the record.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, although i'd rather not before and thirteen.
- 46:57Speaker 3: No, and they probably won't be. Yeah, but it doesn't
- 47:00Speaker 3: there any better, No, Like you know, the example I
- 47:03Speaker 3: used when we were talking about this with somebody yesterday,
- 47:05Speaker 3: Like you know, like someone goes, well, you know they're
- 47:08Speaker 3: gonna go six and eleven, and I go, okay, well
- 47:11Speaker 3: are they gonna be any better? And he goes, well yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 3: I go all right, So let's just say that the
- 47:15Speaker 3: season unfolded and you beat the Colts and you beat
- 47:18Speaker 3: the Giants? Were you any better? Right?
- 47:20Speaker 1: Like?
- 47:20Speaker 3: Those those two games you lost ten six and ten seven?
- 47:23Speaker 3: Right Like, so obviously one play could have won both games.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I wouldn't feel any better about anything that I saw,
- 47:28Speaker 3: would you, Right?
- 47:29Speaker 4: No, Yeah, And that's what I mean. I think, just
- 47:32Speaker 4: you know, we can put all names to the claims
- 47:34Speaker 4: and that I just they need to rebuild, and like
- 47:36Speaker 4: it's not a one year plug with number three pick
- 47:39Speaker 4: into this team and they're going back to the playoffs.
- 47:40Speaker 4: It's you know, they just they have to be measured
- 47:42Speaker 4: and they have to hit on these draft picks like that.
- 47:44Speaker 1: This is the mistake that people make, particularly when you're
- 47:47Speaker 1: talking about football. Wigi was on this morning, and he
- 47:49Speaker 1: made a mistake, and he was making the case, you
- 47:52Speaker 1: know that they got they moved too fast on Bill
- 47:55Speaker 1: getting rid of them, that he over the last four years,
- 47:59Speaker 1: he's only only two of them ad been bad because
- 48:01Speaker 1: you know, the COVID year was the COVID year. I
- 48:03Speaker 1: throw that out, COVID year. And then and then of course,
- 48:06Speaker 1: you know the first year they drafted back, that was
- 48:08Speaker 1: a good year. But you have to take everything in context.
- 48:12Speaker 1: The second half of that year was not good. They
- 48:15Speaker 1: went in the wrong direction, and then there were a
- 48:18Speaker 1: lot of things besides record that added up to Billlieving
- 48:23Speaker 1: and you have to take it all into consideration. And
- 48:26Speaker 1: Wigi was not doing He's just simply going by the record.
- 48:29Speaker 1: And that's the Paul's point. If they're six and eleven
- 48:32Speaker 1: next year and everything's a mess, that's not better.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Like if you still have no offense, but you find
- 48:38Speaker 3: a way to win a couple more games because the
- 48:40Speaker 3: ball bounced differently, right, that doesn't make it.
- 48:42Speaker 1: You can't go by the record when you're just if.
- 48:45Speaker 3: You have some like Mike made the point about the
- 48:47Speaker 3: draft class, if you have some young guys playing prominent roles,
- 48:51Speaker 3: like more so than you know, like like Gonzalez was,
- 48:54Speaker 3: if you had like two or three young guys like Gonzales,
- 48:58Speaker 3: Like I'm not talking about Keon White, you know what
- 49:00Speaker 3: I mean, Like I'm not I'm not that King of
- 49:03Speaker 3: White was a bad pick, but it's fine. He didn't. Yeah,
- 49:05Speaker 3: he was just there. He was out there. Like if
- 49:07Speaker 3: you have guys playing prominent roles and playing well, and
- 49:12Speaker 3: your offense is showing signs of evolving and being more
- 49:16Speaker 3: productive and more consistent, those would be positive signs regardless
- 49:20Speaker 3: of what the record.
- 49:20Speaker 4: That was the thing with Gonzalez to me, it's like
- 49:22Speaker 4: you just knew instantly when you like this. This kid
- 49:24Speaker 4: moves different than everybody else, Like he just you could
- 49:26Speaker 4: just tell. And there haven't been a lot of those guys,
- 49:28Speaker 4: I mean to Wiki's point, And it sounds stupid because
- 49:30Speaker 4: they went to the Super Bowl in seventeen and eighteen,
- 49:32Speaker 4: but I would say that this has been a team
- 49:34Speaker 4: and kind of declined since twenty sixteen when they won
- 49:36Speaker 4: that Super Bowl against Atlanta and the pieces, you know,
- 49:39Speaker 4: in credit to Tom Brady and you know Bill's coaching
- 49:42Speaker 4: to keep it together, but it feels like they've been
- 49:44Speaker 4: kind of bleeding talent since that point and they haven't
- 49:47Speaker 4: really been able to put a stop to.
- 49:49Speaker 3: So let's go back on the original call ranked it.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, see five teams.
- 49:56Speaker 3: This is of the dynasty. Because when I'm gonna go
- 49:59Speaker 3: back too yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 4: I mean I'd probably just bump seventy eight. I'd bump
- 50:03Speaker 4: oh one off, you know, for for two thousand and three,
- 50:07Speaker 4: because I think that was a team that was.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I would agree really special. Three three was probably number five.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I think fourteen was you know, fourteen might be
- 50:14Speaker 4: my number one team by in two thousand and four.
- 50:19Speaker 1: That's what Edelman said, didn't he say that fourteen he
- 50:21Speaker 1: had his two teams.
- 50:22Speaker 4: He's also fourteen. Yeah, he had sixteen and fourteen.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't put sixteen anywhere near there, and I
- 50:27Speaker 3: would put I would put four ahead, I would put
- 50:29Speaker 3: seven ahead, but then fourteen would be in there. Yeah,
- 50:33Speaker 3: but you know, obviously everybody has different things that they love.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think in terms of like and again, teams
- 50:40Speaker 1: in their era, like the you know, seventeen was kind
- 50:46Speaker 1: of ahead of their time in terms of like pinball.
- 50:49Speaker 1: But I'm like, I would say seven, three, four, fourteen,
- 50:57Speaker 1: and then one would put.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Three ahead of four or this is no particular order.
- 51:06Speaker 1: No, I would I know, I'm sorry, four ahead of three, Okay, Yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 1: so four to me, seven, three, four, fourteen, and then
- 51:15Speaker 1: I don't know what.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Four to me was as close to a perfect team
- 51:18Speaker 3: it was they had no weakness, right, but.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I'm not sure like this year, if O four would
- 51:24Speaker 1: have the same success.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Oh no, that's different.
- 51:26Speaker 1: That's what I mean. You have to take a judging
- 51:29Speaker 1: context of that year. Yeah.
- 51:31Speaker 3: Yeah, like I think I wouldn't want to be lining
- 51:34Speaker 3: up with like, you know, like.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I think I think seven. I think, oh seven today
- 51:38Speaker 1: would still be good.
- 51:40Speaker 3: I mean, uh, the defense would struggle.
- 51:43Speaker 4: The defense struggled then slow zone defense.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Yeah, if everybody was playing the way they play now,
- 51:48Speaker 3: that defense would have been okay.
- 51:50Speaker 1: All right maybe yeah, like Ellis Hobbes, Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 3: We turned from the other studio.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, how are you just extended Catch twenty two?
- 52:02Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 52:03Speaker 1: We're not done yet.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Catch twenty two after Dark, Alex's seventh round, Sleepers coming
- 52:08Speaker 4: on catch.
- 52:09Speaker 14: Up what they call it Felger does like after the
- 52:13Speaker 14: after show on Facebook Live.
- 52:15Speaker 4: That's what no.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I was.
- 52:17Speaker 14: I was actually talking to one of the members of
- 52:19Speaker 14: the twenty fourteen Super Bowl champions, Jamie Collins. Oh and uh,
- 52:23Speaker 14: he used I said to you. I was joking with
- 52:25Speaker 14: him that he used to duck us in the locker
- 52:27Speaker 14: room the media. I mean, uh, totally fair and warranted
- 52:30Speaker 14: and he would like show his head in and then
- 52:33Speaker 14: like see us in there and like be line it out,
- 52:36Speaker 14: and he'd gave me. I was talking to him about
- 52:38Speaker 14: Grod Mayo and he gave me a great interview. I
- 52:40Speaker 14: was like, you should have done this more often, like
- 52:42Speaker 14: you're you got stuff to say, Like he was great.
- 52:45Speaker 14: And I also talked to one of my personal favorites,
- 52:47Speaker 14: Brandon Spikes, about Mayo as well, So that was cool.
- 52:50Speaker 9: You inspired me, Fred, Yeah, so I.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Think we talked about it and it was your idea
- 52:55Speaker 1: about you know, talking about ex teammates from Gerrod, like
- 53:00Speaker 1: why you think he could be a good head coach
- 53:02Speaker 1: And so you're calling a lot of the linebackers that
- 53:05Speaker 1: he was closest to.
- 53:06Speaker 14: Yes, I called, well, you know, pr obviously helps, Aaron
- 53:11Speaker 14: got me, Jimmie Collins, Brandon Spikes, we're working on High Tower.
- 53:15Speaker 14: That's like the Golden Goose, right, so we're trying to
- 53:18Speaker 14: track him down. And I spoke to Rob Nikovitch was
- 53:21Speaker 14: at the press conference yesterday, so I spoked to him
- 53:24Speaker 14: a little looking forward to that. Yeah, And Jamie Collins
- 53:27Speaker 14: said had a great story.
- 53:28Speaker 9: He said that.
- 53:30Speaker 14: Girod used to call meetings players only meetings after all
- 53:35Speaker 14: of the meetings were already done for the day, and
- 53:37Speaker 14: Gerrod would run the clicker and they'd watch film together
- 53:41Speaker 14: of the next opponent, and he was like, you know,
- 53:43Speaker 14: Girod would be in there and you know, he'd run
- 53:46Speaker 14: the clicker and we'd all be like why do we
- 53:48Speaker 14: like we want to go home, like why do we
- 53:49Speaker 14: have to see the Yeah, like why do we have
- 53:52Speaker 14: to do this? And and then but Jamie said that
- 53:54Speaker 14: then we get out on the field on Sundays and
- 53:56Speaker 14: stuff that we talked about with Gerard would come up
- 53:59Speaker 14: in the game and so I would be like, this
- 54:01Speaker 14: is why why we do it? And Brandon Spike's mentioned
- 54:06Speaker 14: just that when he was at Florida, actually that Urban
- 54:11Speaker 14: Meyer at Florida would circle Girod Mayo at Tennessee and say,
- 54:16Speaker 14: this is like we cannot let this guy get off
- 54:19Speaker 14: on us, you know, like this is right, this is
- 54:21Speaker 14: like one of their you know we always talk about
- 54:23Speaker 14: like Tuesday players like this is one of their guys.
- 54:25Speaker 14: And so that was cool too. But yeah, the Collins
- 54:28Speaker 14: story about him holding like basically running meetings himself, Yeah,
- 54:33Speaker 14: as a.
- 54:33Speaker 9: Player was crazy.
- 54:34Speaker 4: That's kind of interesting. I forget Paul would hate that
- 54:36Speaker 4: what Jerad's role was in fourteen and fifteen, those last
- 54:39Speaker 4: two years, because I know it was hurt for a
- 54:42Speaker 4: big majority of it. And I think we all remember, you know,
- 54:45Speaker 4: high towern Collins really emerging in twenty fourteen with you know,
- 54:47Speaker 4: like those double mug looks up front, and you know,
- 54:49Speaker 4: they made great use of that stuff. But it almost
- 54:53Speaker 4: seemed like at that point he was kind of transitioning
- 54:54Speaker 4: more to a coaching role because he was I mean,
- 54:56Speaker 4: I want to say twenty fifteen, he I don't even
- 54:58Speaker 4: know if he played more than just the hand full
- 55:00Speaker 4: of games, if even and really maybe that that was
- 55:03Speaker 4: a chance to.
- 55:03Speaker 14: Yeah, that was there's reporting out there that him and
- 55:07Speaker 14: Steve Belichick in twenty fourteen that's when they started to
- 55:11Speaker 14: get a relationship because Gerard would would work with the
- 55:14Speaker 14: coaches because he was on IR so he would work
- 55:16Speaker 14: with the coaches, you know, with the game plans and
- 55:20Speaker 14: stuff like that. But you know, Collins is cool because
- 55:22Speaker 14: he played with Gerard and then played for Gerrod, so
- 55:26Speaker 14: it's like that unique thing. And he just said that
- 55:29Speaker 14: you know, him and Steve Belichick where just they had it.
- 55:33Speaker 14: No one really knew, like who was doing what. But
- 55:36Speaker 14: they were so in sync with like everything, and they never,
- 55:40Speaker 14: like at least out in the meeting rooms, never like
- 55:43Speaker 14: disagreed in front of the players or anything like that.
- 55:45Speaker 14: And they were always on the same page. And just
- 55:47Speaker 14: the way people talk about their relationship really makes you
- 55:50Speaker 14: wonder if Steve Will will end up staying here.
- 55:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I wonder. We don't know yet, no, but it's
- 55:56Speaker 4: just it's hard to watch that yesterday and hear some
- 55:58Speaker 4: of the Bill things, and you know, just wonder what
- 56:01Speaker 4: Steven Bryants thoughts would have been if they had been there.
- 56:03Speaker 4: I don't know, it just seems awkward to.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Me they weren't up there.
- 56:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm sure they've heard.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go to Brent and Reno. What's up Brent?
- 56:15Speaker 15: Hey, guys, few things and I'll take them both off air.
- 56:20Speaker 15: Number one and obviously, less importantly, how wild of a
- 56:25Speaker 15: pipe dream is it to think of Julian Lleman coming
- 56:28Speaker 15: back into a offensive coordinator position and number two being
- 56:34Speaker 15: one of the only Patriots fans on the West coast
- 56:37Speaker 15: in a forty nine er family, my kids do March fifth,
- 56:40Speaker 15: and I've already got in Patriots binkies bottles onesies, but
- 56:44Speaker 15: my mother in law bottom of niner onesie. How do
- 56:47Speaker 15: I ensure that this boy remains a Patriots fan? My
- 56:50Speaker 15: wife shot me down on getting a tattooed.
- 56:52Speaker 3: But anyways, rights, right, it's GOI me tough if the
- 56:57Speaker 3: forty nine ers win the Super Bowl, because then you
- 56:59Speaker 3: got all.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Ruined. The onesie in the wash, like do something, put
- 57:03Speaker 1: some bleach in it and just like destroy it so
- 57:05Speaker 1: we can't wear it.
- 57:06Speaker 3: We got that with might get you out of having
- 57:08Speaker 3: to do laundry in the future, right.
- 57:09Speaker 4: Yeah, my kids, we got a lot of Lakers stuff
- 57:11Speaker 4: from like you know, l A families and so that
- 57:14Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think there's much shot you have of
- 57:18Speaker 3: Julian Edelman. No, you don't bother me when I'm talking
- 57:25Speaker 3: to my mama.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Those have been great. I gotta listen to the whole
- 57:28Speaker 4: Brady one with Moss talking about all the crazy times
- 57:31Speaker 4: with those guys. I mean at.
- 57:32Speaker 3: That impersonations is like perfect, that's just gold.
- 57:36Speaker 14: Yeah. He I think he likes his job too much
- 57:39Speaker 14: in the media. He's having way too much fun with that.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's has he given any indicators like you know,
- 57:45Speaker 1: someday I'd like the coach.
- 57:46Speaker 4: I think anybody wants that.
- 57:48Speaker 3: He looks like he's enjoying life, like laying on that
- 57:51Speaker 3: couch when he's doing the podcast.
- 57:53Speaker 14: By the way, I wonder if the caller maybe he
- 57:57Speaker 14: got Wes Welker and Julian Edelman that could be Miami
- 58:02Speaker 14: Wide Receivers coach currently. Yeah, he is on the OC
- 58:05Speaker 14: track Julian Edelman.
- 58:08Speaker 9: Yeah, and now.
- 58:09Speaker 1: He's got the freedom to come back.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Yeah. Right, Mike McDaniel Predigree, Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 14: I do wonder if you will see, yeah, that Jirodd's
- 58:17Speaker 14: the coach, if we will see some former Patriots on
- 58:19Speaker 14: the staff though, because the two guys I spoke to
- 58:23Speaker 14: were like, if he calls, I'm coming, you know, oh yeah.
- 58:26Speaker 14: And Brandon Spikes is he's at Florida. He's working back
- 58:31Speaker 14: at the Alma Mada and uh and he's you know,
- 58:35Speaker 14: he's helping out Florida's program, trying to get them back,
- 58:38Speaker 14: you know, to where they were when he was there
- 58:40Speaker 14: and things like that.
- 58:42Speaker 9: And so is he.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Still on the internet.
- 58:45Speaker 4: I asked that yesterday.
- 58:47Speaker 3: I'm sure you know, I'm going to plead you want
- 58:50Speaker 3: his only fans account a license for that thing. Yeah,
- 58:55Speaker 3: that was a great That was a great moment in
- 58:57Speaker 3: PFW and.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh, you guys just covered the who does
- 59:02Speaker 4: a Google search of Brandon Spike is junk and Frank goes.
- 59:05Speaker 1: I have seen it, I have seen, and then I
- 59:08Speaker 1: said it in the EV yesterday and then Paul starts
- 59:11Speaker 1: grilling you have you seen?
- 59:14Speaker 3: Yes?
- 59:14Speaker 1: Have you seen?
- 59:16Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 59:16Speaker 3: I just go I don't get that. I have no
- 59:19Speaker 3: desires re search.
- 59:21Speaker 9: You guys should have heard what said yesterday. I'm not
- 59:23Speaker 9: going to repeat it. It's not for it was.
- 59:26Speaker 4: It was good good where out of nowhere I didn't.
- 59:29Speaker 9: Know me and Neil Perry almost fell on the ground.
- 59:34Speaker 4: Good times and Spikes.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Chris, I'm just gonna add to it.
- 59:41Speaker 1: But ye, Chris is in New Hampshire. Hey, Chris, Hey,
- 59:46Speaker 1: fellow's going good?
- 59:48Speaker 4: Hey quick.
- 59:49Speaker 16: Two quick points about that press conference. The first one,
- 59:52Speaker 16: maybe it was just two directed to watching Bill, but
- 59:54Speaker 16: I kind of got used to and started enjoying. Bill
- 59:57Speaker 16: is just awful interaction with the media, and it was
- 59:59Speaker 16: sad do not have that. The other thing was every
- 1:00:02Speaker 16: time Mayo called Craft thunder, Yeah, I was don't call
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: him thunder and then thunder again?
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah, seven times I felt, I'm with you, Chris, thanks
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: for the call. I felt uncomfortable with that me too,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Me to thunder really like.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: The first one. I was like, oh, that's kind of funny.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: Then like you doing again?
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Yeah, thinking is that why you got hired?
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: Like what are we doing?
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: Like?
- 1:00:30Speaker 14: Yeah, you know Bill used to call him, at least
- 1:00:32Speaker 14: call him rock, right, Yeah, I don't have to go
- 1:00:34Speaker 14: all mister Kraft like you're the head coach.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not big on the mister Craft part of
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: it for a coach.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: If I'm the owner, Like, I don't know if I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: want this guy that I just gave this big job
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: giving me a nickname.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: You know, you gotta be careful giving people nick Yeah.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: It's like I I hated it that Cam Newton came
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: in and immediately started giving people nicknames.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Screw do you own me? Remember that? Questions? So you
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: got nicknames? Can you run them all down for us? Cam?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: It was a dark year, all right, Yeah we're desperate
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: waiting on a zoom call.
- 1:01:07Speaker 11: Dirty day smoking Joe, Yeah, I think right. Twin number one,
- 1:01:16Speaker 11: Twin number two, I.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Think half the reason he did is because he couldn't
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: remember people's real name I know, probably like me, I
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: don't know. Hey guy, are you yeah?
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: Hey, this one was Niki Harry dough boy.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Do boy.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Yeah that told you a lot.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, didn't.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: And then you know, what's so, what is mac Jones's
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: middle name?
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: Everybody knows McClellan.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: Know that. You guys don't even know this. His middle
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: name is actually McClellan.
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: Lell No, it's it's not.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Let's go to Scott and Wellesley. Hey, Scott, Hey, guys.
- 1:01:54Speaker 12: I'm enjoying the show. I said a couple of quick
- 1:01:56Speaker 12: questions about Yeah, first of all, you know the report
- 1:02:00Speaker 12: that bit Ard had a few weeks back that people
- 1:02:02Speaker 12: said that they would rub people the wrong way in
- 1:02:04Speaker 12: the building. You know, in light of that, it made
- 1:02:07Speaker 12: me feel like a lot of the comments that Maya
- 1:02:09Speaker 12: were making were small gigs at Bill, and I wondered
- 1:02:12Speaker 12: if you guys got that impression. And then my second question,
- 1:02:15Speaker 12: essentially was when Kraft talked about how he was thinking
- 1:02:18Speaker 12: about hiring Belichick in ninety six, but he had such
- 1:02:21Speaker 12: a bad relationship with Parcels and he didn't know if
- 1:02:23Speaker 12: he could trust Bill. If that's the case, and given
- 1:02:26Speaker 12: you know, obviously all the leaks have been going towards
- 1:02:28Speaker 12: from the crafts towards Bill. Now, how would he feel
- 1:02:31Speaker 12: about keeping the Belichick kids around, you know, because he's
- 1:02:34Speaker 12: still try giving the teams like there aren't big feelings
- 1:02:37Speaker 12: going towards Bill from him or either his coach. And
- 1:02:40Speaker 12: but the last thing was I couldn't stand the thunder
- 1:02:42Speaker 12: thing either. It killed me every time he said it.
- 1:02:44Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: No, it's good questions. And I guess you'll take it
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: off the air because I'm just causing you.
- 1:02:52Speaker 15: No.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I in terms of the kids, Listen, they have a
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: career in front of them. It behooves that them to
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: do if they stay, to do the best possible job
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: they can do and to not undermine themselves by you know.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: I think that's a concern.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: I I think not not that they're not going to
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: do the best possible job. That's not a concern. Yeah,
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: I agree with you on that. But the father's influence,
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I think that's a concern.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: But again, I go, like I said the other day,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: if I'm Bill Belichick, even if I'm the head coach
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: of the Atlanta Falcons, I want my kids to succeed.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: They're my kids. I want them to succeed no matter
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: where they are, you know, so I'm not going to
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: give them negative influence. Okay, that's just my feeling, Like
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I just putting myself in a father's role.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: You know, like I'm talking about the kids. No, I know,
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: but like if they hear things that they don't.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Like about Bill, like all to it, I would imagine
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: that after today, after yesterday, there's going to be an
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: organizational effort down there in football to move on from
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Bill Belichick. Like we're not talking about Bill anymore. It's
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: it's a new regime, I know, But I would imagine
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: that they're going to make every effort to move forward.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Now, certainly public facing. I mean, I think, like Paul's
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: concern of mine too, is that things used to be
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: like this around here, but this isn't how it's going
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: to be like anything in that game.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Which was basically the entirety of then.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: No, I know, but I think after yesterday that's it.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: And I think I think the message to me anyway,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the message it says to me if Steve and Brian
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: stay is they're good coaches, and I don't care who
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: your daddy is. If you're a good coach, we want you,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: you know, and to me, that's a good message to
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: the rest of the staff.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: That's just my feel I just I can't. I don't
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: think it's going to happen. I just can't get on
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: beyond the awkwardness of it all. And like the reports
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: that they're you know, open to coming back, I just
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: I don't. I don't really believe it. I mean, I
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: think that I think that they're I think the organization
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: wants to put forward. Look, they're welcome to stay, but
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: everybody knows like they're going to probably go with Dad.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: And I mean I know, and I think and I
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: think the best thing for those guys would go somewhere else.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Just go get a new job, start somewhere out that, you.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Know, get out of, get out of this cycle, get
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: out of don't go to anywhere, don't stay here, go
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: somewhere else.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: But is Steve gonna be able? And I'm just assuming
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: that is Steve gonna be able to go somewhere else
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: and be the defensive coordinator because I think he might
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: be here.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: I mean probably not. But I mean they're interviewing people
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: for defensive coordinator too, so of course it's I mean,
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: I don't know I just I think they do have
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: to interview people, right, Oh yeah, yeah, so but I
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: just yesterday that you know, the one thing that stuck
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: out to me and I we we did this already
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: on catch point two.
- 1:05:46Speaker 14: But just everybody's gone but Bill. I mean, everybody's here
- 1:05:50Speaker 14: but Bill. Right, Like it's like so forward facing, like
- 1:05:54Speaker 14: public facing. Bill was the problem. Like that's the way
- 1:05:58Speaker 14: the organization is ending it. Like as I sit there
- 1:06:01Speaker 14: and I watch macro and Elliott wolf in the entire
- 1:06:04Speaker 14: personnel department walk in and Girod up there with Robert,
- 1:06:08Speaker 14: the only person that wasn't in the room other than coaches,
- 1:06:11Speaker 14: but like that's a different type of situation was Bill.
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: So like they just are putting this.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: All on Bill.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Well, no, there's a lot of people that weren't in
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: the room, Like who Bill O'Brien.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: He said, coaches.
- 1:06:22Speaker 14: Yeah, but the coaches those are Bill's coaches, right, that's
- 1:06:25Speaker 14: his staff.
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: Yeah, And Girod made that very clear. I did not
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: hire these people.
- 1:06:29Speaker 14: So that to me tells me that they really are
- 1:06:34Speaker 14: trying to tell us that Bill was the biggest problem.
- 1:06:37Speaker 14: And they cut the snake off at the head.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Well, I think he was you know, I think there's
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: no doubt that they're saying that are also he'd still
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: be here. But I think that I think you will
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: see new coaches in here.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: Me too.
- 1:06:49Speaker 14: Yeah yeah, but I kind of put the coaches in
- 1:06:52Speaker 14: the in the billbox. Well yeah, right, so like it's
- 1:06:55Speaker 14: all to me, like Bill O'Brien is just an extension
- 1:06:59Speaker 14: of Bill, So it's all kind of one.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: But if Bill O'Brien, if they really wanted him, they
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: he'll be back too. Yeah.
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: I mean I think right now, I don't think it's
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: a snapshot. Yeah, I mean, I just think may.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Not want to be here. But I'm just saying that,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: excuse me. If a coach isn't here, it's for the
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: most part, it's because they didn't offer him a job.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: I I just think we're in a snapshot, a snapshot
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: of time right now. And that's it's hard, and it's
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: it certainly does look that way at this particular moment.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: But I still hold out hope that the offensive coordinator
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: hired that the offensive staff, that that's going to inspire
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: some change, and you know, we'll see with Elliot Wolf
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: and Macrol. I mean, there is an element of truth
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: that all these people trained under Bill Belichick and to
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: throw the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak,
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: like you don't want to do that. But there's a
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: fine line between saying like, look, it was just Bill,
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: and now he's out of the way, and now you know.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: But but every time a head coach gets fired, they
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: don't immediately just clear everybody out. There's a process by
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: which who do we keep who who lives. I think
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: it's the same here.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: I just think that I'm going to keep an eye
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: on that because there haven't been any coaches hired yet
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: so except for this one. So I'm going to keep
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: an eye on that because I don't think that's true. Okay,
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: I think that they're very unique.
- 1:08:15Speaker 14: Like we were sitting like sitting in that in the
- 1:08:18Speaker 14: GPA trium, right and the only person that wasn't still
- 1:08:21Speaker 14: there was Bill.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I know, we just announced him as a head coach yesterday.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Let's give him a week, you know.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: No, Like, yeah, I'm I'm in between you two guys.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: I understand what you say, thank you for the introduction,
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: here's my staff. But the mic part, I agree with
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: you with your mentality on on Stephen Bryant. I kind
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: of think that they're going to stay. Like I'm getting
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: the vibe that they're going to stay. I just I
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: don't really, I don't really, I don't understand it. I
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: don't understand why you'd want it. And I think that
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: you can make coaches. Yeah, I know that there are
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: other good coaches. They're not the only two good coaches
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: on the planet.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: And if they were such good but if you know that,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: you know who it is is, you know, like yeah,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: like Evan says, they have to interview for all these jobs,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: and they're.
- 1:09:05Speaker 9: Going to appoint an actual defensive court.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: No, that's different, the defensive coordinator. And he said very
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: that was probably the strongest thing that he said yesterday
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: is I do believe in titles.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think that there's no question that there
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: will be a defensive coordinator.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: What I liked about it, though, is that it acknowledged
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: what Bill was trying to do by not getting titles,
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: but without getting into the over the top ridiculousness of
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: no one gets to know, like I get it, Like
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: I understand you want you don't want this hierarchy where
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: people are afraid. I understand that inward facing, but you know,
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: I thought that was the nuance that jirob pointed out
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: that look, they're important outward facing, and I think we
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: all believe that if you want to go somewhere and
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: get a job, other companies need to look at you
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: and see what you did. But you know, but at
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: the same time, I think at least it gave an
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: acknowledgment to why was that in place it was, I
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: mean there was a purpose. Did they take it over
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: the top, take it to kind of crazy degree, sure,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: but you know, I like that aspect of how we
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: handled that part.
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: Of it all.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: But one more thing I was gonna say too, Paul,
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: is like, it's not just the coaches, it's the players,
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: Like the players talking crap about Bill and like, you know,
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: like Juju walk a mile, like oh man, we didn't
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: do that last year, and then Steve overhears it, you know,
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: like it's well, like Jia will button it up and
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: the coaches staff won't really talk about it anymore, but there's.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: They won't like it's going to hang over the team.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: If you think that more stuff was mentioned about Belichick
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: in a forty minute press conference in front of the world,
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: then we'll be walking around on a random Tuesday in
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: the middle of the off season in the weight room.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: That's crazy. Yeah, his name is going to come up
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: way more behind closed doors than it did yesterday.
- 1:10:44Speaker 14: Definitely a value in just as much as you can
- 1:10:48Speaker 14: with it, promoting somebody from within, starting from scratch, to clean.
- 1:10:51Speaker 9: Out all of this.
- 1:10:53Speaker 14: And I think one of the things that he said
- 1:10:55Speaker 14: was that we have to rebuild relationships, which I thought
- 1:10:58Speaker 14: was really interesting because I think that goes back to
- 1:11:01Speaker 14: like the Badard report that the caller was talking about.
- 1:11:03Speaker 14: He knows that there are people that aren't on his
- 1:11:05Speaker 14: side that are in this building, and he needs to
- 1:11:08Speaker 14: figure out who those people are. I'm not necessarily saying
- 1:11:11Speaker 14: that is Stephen Brian, but it might it obviously look
- 1:11:14Speaker 14: like it would be Stephen Brian. Maybe it's Bill O'Brien
- 1:11:17Speaker 14: who felt like he should have been the heir apparent.
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: You know, or whatever. Who knows. But I ultimately that
- 1:11:23Speaker 9: that stood out to me a.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Lot that that's a good takeaway, that comment that he
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: made knowing that there were silos, knowing that there was division,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: no echo chambers, and yeah, and it's my job to
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: repair that now.
- 1:11:36Speaker 14: Yeah, a lot of it just seemed like it was
- 1:11:39Speaker 14: culture related with Bill, like the culture had erosion.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: And weld we talked about that, you know, two years ago,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: what would it take for Bill to have to leave?
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: And we talked about the erosion of the locker room?
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Yeah you know, yeah, absolutely, Freddie.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Let's go to Michelle in South Carolina. Hey, Michelle, then,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: how are you good?
- 1:12:03Speaker 18: But your show's not on enough.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Our show's not on enough.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: That's a compliment, as Michelle needs to talk to us
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: every day.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I want to keep you wanting more, though, Michelle, I
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: want to keep you wanting more.
- 1:12:16Speaker 18: Well, see this is what happens, though I have too
- 1:12:19Speaker 18: much to say. Oh okay, hey dude, you looked very
- 1:12:25Speaker 18: handsome yesterday.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, you got right on that, right on
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: that stream, thanks Michelle.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: This boyish charm. He's married.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: To his database with.
- 1:12:41Speaker 18: Seve Belichick. I was listening to the guys earlier and
- 1:12:46Speaker 18: they seem to think he's not going to be highed
- 1:12:49Speaker 18: as the defensive coordinator, and that to me seems like
- 1:12:55Speaker 18: a reason for him not to stay. But I think
- 1:13:00Speaker 18: it would not behoove him to go with Bill, because
- 1:13:05Speaker 18: if Bill's not going to be Atlanta in Atlanta, I
- 1:13:08Speaker 18: don't think for more than if he goes there two years, right,
- 1:13:13Speaker 18: I mean, I can't imagine he would be there for
- 1:13:15Speaker 18: that long. And to talk about breaking the record, that
- 1:13:20Speaker 18: to me is the stupidest thing I heard, because it's
- 1:13:26Speaker 18: going to get broken by the guy in Kansas City.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: It might be I don't know.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, he could win it all this year and retire.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he went there.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I mean I was thinking this guy, no, but he's
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: talked about it the last couple of years.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I agree with your first two points, you know, not
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: having heard you know, they they may not offer him
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: d C. And if they don't, then he would probably leave.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: And I agree with you that if they go with
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: their father to Atlanta, assuming that's or Bill goes, that
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: wouldn't be the necessarily the best thing for them. So
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: I agree with those first two things absolutely.
- 1:14:06Speaker 18: I mean, yeah, because if they're not gonna want to
- 1:14:09Speaker 18: stay in Atlanta, well they might why.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Not what if it went so well?
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: Yeah, Steve Belichick, Yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: What if it went so well that three straight titles
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: he inherits? The teams?
- 1:14:21Speaker 18: Ask is Bill going here? Because is going to give him?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: First of all, we don't know he's going there. Yeah. Now,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: I would assume that, you know, knowing where Atlanta is
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a college football town, Georgia football is ranks way higher
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: than Atlanta Falcons. But by taking a big swing and
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: getting Bill Belichick, you start to become a little bit
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: more relevant. And I think that's the gamble that Arthur
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Blank wants to do in bringing in Bill. So I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: think if Bill wants more power, he'll get it.
- 1:14:57Speaker 14: They do have a GM, and they have a yeah,
- 1:15:01Speaker 14: and they like their rosters like, okay, you know they've
- 1:15:04Speaker 14: done a decent job with the roster.
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:06Speaker 9: So I don't know.
- 1:15:07Speaker 14: I just I when you look at the musical chairs,
- 1:15:10Speaker 14: like the music is starting to stop, and Bill's only
- 1:15:13Speaker 14: chair really is Atlanta, I know? I mean, Dallas is
- 1:15:16Speaker 14: not hiring a new coach.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Paul thinks Philly is still on the I think Philly is.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: Still on the table.
- 1:15:20Speaker 14: At least definitely Philly's still on the table. I would
- 1:15:22Speaker 14: agree with that. But at the same time, some of
- 1:15:24Speaker 14: their players and the exit interviews and stuff like that,
- 1:15:27Speaker 14: and on trash back day like one, I think it's
- 1:15:29Speaker 14: Fletcher Cox like scoffed at a reporter that even suggested
- 1:15:33Speaker 14: that Nick Sirianni could be out of a job like
- 1:15:36Speaker 14: he was like, that's ridiculous to even talk about, you know,
- 1:15:38Speaker 14: type of like.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: I've been reading about it a little bit and it's
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: very similar to the way it was set up with Peterson.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: And they wanted some changes to the staff. They brought
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: him in, they wanted a plan. They didn't like his plan. Yeah,
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: he didn't like their suggestions and they fired him. So
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe Siriani does what Fred says, but
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: he goes there, goes and gets two more experienced coordinate.
- 1:16:01Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:16:01Speaker 9: Like they're not giving away roster control from Howie Roseman though,
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: So if he.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Goes there, he's done a good job. Yeah, Michelle, thanks
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: for the call. Paul's foods here, So we've got to

- 1:16:59Speaker 9: What's up, everybody?
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: Gerard Mayo was introduced as head coach of the New
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: England Patriots yesterday. Let's listen to some of his introductory
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: press conference.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: It's what I think my family first and foremost.
- 1:17:11Speaker 10: You know, I see a lot of you guys on
- 1:17:13Speaker 10: the front row, first two rows, and this has definitely
- 1:17:16Speaker 10: been a dream of mine. I know one thing that
- 1:17:19Speaker 10: Thunder talked about was I had always been a coach
- 1:17:23Speaker 10: in his mind. I would say, I'm a huge believer
- 1:17:26Speaker 10: in just developing people, whether it's on the football field,
- 1:17:30Speaker 10: whether it's off the football field, in the media world,
- 1:17:33Speaker 10: in business. My calling is to be a teacher and
- 1:17:36Speaker 10: to develop people and help them see pretty much what
- 1:17:40Speaker 10: they don't want to see but they need to see.
- 1:17:43Speaker 10: So my job has always been that. That is my calling.
- 1:17:47Speaker 10: Becoming a Patriot, it's never really felt like a job.
- 1:17:51Speaker 10: When I first got here in two thousand and eight,
- 1:17:53Speaker 10: I was the first round draft pick two thousand and seven.
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: You know, you know the season two thousand and seven.
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: Don't worry about that one.
- 1:18:00Speaker 10: But I come into an organization where the culture was
- 1:18:03Speaker 10: established the people, not only the players, but the people
- 1:18:07Speaker 10: that worked around the building. And I was like, man,
- 1:18:09Speaker 10: maybe I'm the missing piece, right, So maybe I'm the
- 1:18:12Speaker 10: missing piece. So I was drafted in two thousand and eight,
- 1:18:16Speaker 10: and then the first game of the season, first game
- 1:18:18Speaker 10: of the season, Tom Brady gets hurt.
- 1:18:20Speaker 8: He's out for the year.
- 1:18:22Speaker 10: Most people wrote us off that season, but that's when
- 1:18:25Speaker 10: I really had an opportunity to see the culture at work.
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: Many people they.
- 1:18:30Speaker 10: Look at culture as a retrospective way of either validating
- 1:18:35Speaker 10: success or you know, validating a losing season. I would
- 1:18:40Speaker 10: say here, the culture starts at the top, mister Kraft
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: in the family starts at the top, but it also
- 1:18:48Speaker 10: has to permeate throughout the organization. And I've always tried
- 1:18:51Speaker 10: to carry that flag for the Craft family. As He's
- 1:18:54Speaker 10: told you. Look, these guys went at a lot. They
- 1:18:57Speaker 10: went at a lot, and I love in here. I
- 1:19:01Speaker 10: took a break. I went to Optum. I needed a
- 1:19:03Speaker 10: break from Bill. I went to opt them for about
- 1:19:05Speaker 10: four years and I came back and one thing I
- 1:19:09Speaker 10: came back with I learned a lot at optim Larry Renfro,
- 1:19:13Speaker 10: Mike Matteo, those guys.
- 1:19:14Speaker 8: I learned a lot at.
- 1:19:15Speaker 10: Optum about diversity, right, about diversity and inclusion. And you
- 1:19:22Speaker 10: better believe it. Being the first black coach here in
- 1:19:24Speaker 10: New England means a lot to me. But those guys
- 1:19:28Speaker 10: taught me you have to take ideas from other people. Black, white, green,
- 1:19:33Speaker 10: yellow really doesn't matter, old young. One thing you'll notice
- 1:19:37Speaker 10: about me in our interaction as we continue to go
- 1:19:40Speaker 10: is I don't like echo chambers. I want people around
- 1:19:44Speaker 10: me that are going to question my ideas or question
- 1:19:47Speaker 10: the way we have done things in the past, because realistically,
- 1:19:51Speaker 10: this game is a lot different.
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: Than when I was drafted in two thousand and eight.
- 1:19:55Speaker 10: At the same time, that's why I try to spend
- 1:19:57Speaker 10: so much time in developing young men and young women
- 1:20:01Speaker 10: so they know I don't want to teach them, you
- 1:20:03Speaker 10: know what, what to think. I want to teach them
- 1:20:05Speaker 10: how to think. And once we get to that point,
- 1:20:07Speaker 10: I think we can get back to where we need
- 1:20:09Speaker 10: to be at the top. And I'm an open book.
- 1:20:13Speaker 10: I'm honored, I'm ready to go, and I'm excited to
- 1:20:17Speaker 10: be the next head coach of the Patriots.
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: Let's start with UH.
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: With Mike Breese here in the front row, this question
- 1:20:32Speaker 9: is for Robert.
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: There's gonna come a time when you have to turn
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: into draft card and make a pick official or make
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: a signing official. Who will have the final say on
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: those decisions.
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: Yeah, well this is his day. We wanna celebrate Jerrod
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: taking this position.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: What we know, we have a lot of people internally
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: who have had a chance to train and learn under
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: the greatest coach of all time and a man whose
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: football intellect is very special. So in the short term.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: We're looking for collaboration as our team has a tremendous
- 1:21:26Speaker 7: opportunity to position itself right given our salary cap space.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: And you know, we've never drafted in my thirty years
- 1:21:37Speaker 7: of ownership, We've never been drafting as low as we're drafting,
- 1:21:43Speaker 7: So we're counting on our internal people whom we're still
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: learning and evaluating. So we're going to let that evolve
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: and develop, and before the key decisions have to be made,
- 1:22:01Speaker 7: we will appoint someone and at the same time we'll
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: probably start doing interviews and looking at people from the outside.
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: But my bias has always been in all our family
- 1:22:16Speaker 7: companies to try to develop a culture from within where
- 1:22:21Speaker 7: we understand one another. I'll just give you a little factoid.
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: In the thirty years that we've owned the team today,
- 1:22:37Speaker 7: so it's really thirty one, this is the third coach
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: that our family has hired.
- 1:22:45Speaker 8: In that period.
- 1:22:47Speaker 7: There have been two hundred and forty four coaches hired
- 1:22:51Speaker 7: in the NFL, which means an average of roughly eight
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: coaches per team, which means there's a turnover every three
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: and a half years. And the teams we like to
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: get continuity in our company get the most competent people
- 1:23:11Speaker 7: and then try to build stability. And so before we
- 1:23:16Speaker 7: just rush and hire people, we wanna understand what we
- 1:23:21Speaker 7: have internally. It's a long answer, but an important question in.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: These questions for dried Congratulations thinks it's been reported in
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: recent days you set up interviews for a defensive coordinator
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: position and special teams coordinator position.
- 1:23:37Speaker 8: I'm curious if you'll open a search for an.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: Offensive coordinator and if so, what traits and experience will
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: you prioritize.
- 1:23:44Speaker 10: That's a great question. I would say, just like Thunder
- 1:23:47Speaker 10: alluded to, everything's still under consideration. Obviously, the staff that
- 1:23:52Speaker 10: I've been working with isn't the staff that I have chosen,
- 1:23:56Speaker 10: but everything's under evaluation. One thing I would say with
- 1:23:59Speaker 10: all of my coaches is the number one thing is
- 1:24:02Speaker 10: developing people. And with this generation, I mean back when
- 1:24:07Speaker 10: I first started playing, most of the time guys, you know,
- 1:24:09Speaker 10: coach would say something and guys would do it. I
- 1:24:11Speaker 10: think with this generation it's about you have to show
- 1:24:14Speaker 10: them that you care about them before you get into
- 1:24:17Speaker 10: you know, competency as far as x's and no's are concerned.
- 1:24:21Speaker 10: And that's one thing I feel like with all my coaches,
- 1:24:24Speaker 10: they should know the players. They should know their room
- 1:24:28Speaker 10: better than I do. They're closer, they're closer to those
- 1:24:32Speaker 10: guys and they have that day to day interaction. But
- 1:24:35Speaker 10: to me, whether we're talking offensive coordinator, defensive corder, a
- 1:24:38Speaker 10: special teams coordinator, all that stuff is under eval and
- 1:24:42Speaker 10: my number one thing is I want to bring in developers.
- 1:24:49Speaker 20: Hi, Gerada, congratulations on the job. Just a thought on
- 1:24:53Speaker 20: kind of following that up. Do you plan to officially
- 1:24:56Speaker 20: name an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator special teams? What's your
- 1:25:00Speaker 20: vision of what you want from this team, both offensively
- 1:25:04Speaker 20: and what we've seen from you defensively?
- 1:25:06Speaker 9: And will the Belichicks remain on the staff.
- 1:25:08Speaker 10: That's like four questions and one only. That's about four
- 1:25:13Speaker 10: questions in one.
- 1:25:14Speaker 16: Uh.
- 1:25:15Speaker 8: The first one was what what's the first question?
- 1:25:17Speaker 7: Again?
- 1:25:18Speaker 8: Break it down, coordinators. I think it's important.
- 1:25:23Speaker 10: I think titles are important, and I know no knock
- 1:25:27Speaker 10: to Coach Belichick, who has been a huge mentor to
- 1:25:29Speaker 10: me over the years as a player and as a colleague.
- 1:25:33Speaker 10: What I would say is, I believe titles are important
- 1:25:37Speaker 10: outward looking, but as far as in the building, I
- 1:25:41Speaker 10: don't care what your title is. It's what's your job?
- 1:25:44Speaker 10: What value do you bring to the organization? And I
- 1:25:47Speaker 10: think that's the most important thing. And sometimes I think
- 1:25:50Speaker 10: in business and sports people get caught up in titles.
- 1:25:53Speaker 10: But I also understand the other side. If you want
- 1:25:56Speaker 10: to get if you want to continue to get promoted.
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: People have to know exactly what you do.
- 1:26:01Speaker 10: But like I said earlier, inside, it's all about collaboration.
- 1:26:05Speaker 10: That's what Thunder talked about, and that's what I'm about
- 1:26:07Speaker 10: as well.
- 1:26:11Speaker 17: Hey, Rod, what's the difficulty of replacing the greatest coach
- 1:26:17Speaker 17: of all time and filling those shoes and you know,
- 1:26:20Speaker 17: honoring and keeping the DNA that he infused and altering
- 1:26:24Speaker 17: it in the ways that you see fit.
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:26:27Speaker 10: You know, this organization has had a lot of success
- 1:26:30Speaker 10: over the years for a long time, and there have
- 1:26:32Speaker 10: been many teams that, you know, they have one good
- 1:26:35Speaker 10: year and then they're out for three years. One thing
- 1:26:38Speaker 10: I learned from coaches and from Thunder is about just
- 1:26:42Speaker 10: surrounding yourself with good people, right, surrounding yourself with good people. Now,
- 1:26:46Speaker 10: as far as our staff and things like that, we're
- 1:26:50Speaker 10: gonna be good. We're gonna be a lot better now.
- 1:26:52Speaker 10: Bill always says this managing expectations for me. I'm not
- 1:26:56Speaker 10: trying to be built. I'm not trying to be built.
- 1:26:59Speaker 10: I think that that Bill is his own man. If
- 1:27:02Speaker 10: you can't tell by now, I'm a little bit different
- 1:27:04Speaker 10: even up here.
- 1:27:05Speaker 19: Uh.
- 1:27:06Speaker 10: But what I will say is, you know, the more
- 1:27:10Speaker 10: I think about, the more I think about, like the
- 1:27:13Speaker 10: lessons that I've taken from Bill. Hard work works, right,
- 1:27:18Speaker 10: hard work works, and and that's what we're all about.
- 1:27:24Speaker 8: Hey, Giah, good to see you here.
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: And now great moments in history.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: I just feel like you got to break them into
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: a little ball busting when they're kids, right, Like you
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: got to understand that, like you're gonna joke and I'm
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: not like trying to hurt your feelings.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: You know, it's like we're kind of I would kind
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: of tell your coach, I've got my eye on you.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: I'm watching it.
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: It's like I'm looking. And then I would say, yeah,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: your coach asked me to come and you know, give
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: a cradling clinic to the guys.
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: You know, that's funny.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: Cradling clinic. Friend Connor was probably in the fact, really in.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: The old house, I used to use the shower downstairs
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: and that's where like he would watch TV with his friends.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: So I come out with a towel, like, you know,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: oh god, his friends would I go, uh hey, Sean,
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: did you get those tickets to the gunshot?
- 1:28:23Speaker 9: And you know, my son's just shaking his head because
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: he knows it's coming.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: And the other kid just, you know, walk on.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: It's a masterclass, a master class of dadding. Right, I
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: just walk out.
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: I gotta start, I gotta start a little bit.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: That's another great moment from all right back here in
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Patriots on Film today. Five five past five hundred is
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: the ace ticket houtline web radio at Patriots dot com.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Is the email addressed Paul? What is this? Brendan and
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Edmonton writes in I just ran on Twitter. He says
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: that Paul is the highest graded on air personality in
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: the Northeast. Congratulations Paul. That's hopefully this enacts your bonus.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: And your contract that was from Boston Cream. Yeah, this
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: is my buddy, this job. I believe they were making
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: fun of me.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Oh okay, unfortunately, because you know they have these polls
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: every once in a while.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: Also said I was in my thirty eighth season.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:29:17Speaker 9: The Channel Market survey or whatever that's called. Dall, we're
- 1:29:22Speaker 9: always on that.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: It's nice we are you know that right? Yeah, okay, I'm.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: Saying necessarily yeah, but I didn't know if that was
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: and it's something I didn't know about.
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: Well, it should be true.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: Is that really coming? Did that really come out today?
- 1:29:34Speaker 7: No?
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: Okay, So in all seriousness, it's impressive that we're on
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: that because we're not in a category. We're like a
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: write in unless they've changed it. So the last time
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: that I had the raw data, it was like favorite
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: sports related podcast or something like that, and it doesn't
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: give you like like quick Slants was one of the
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: things for you know, Tom Curran's thing. Ours wasn't one
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: of the options, and we got like the third most percentage.
- 1:30:01Speaker 14: Yeah, I think that this past round might have been
- 1:30:04Speaker 14: they might have whittled it down now to like favorite
- 1:30:07Speaker 14: Patriots podcast, Favorite Celtics podcast. But we're definitely unfiltered, definitely
- 1:30:13Speaker 14: on there whether whatever category to get Catch twenty.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: Two and listen to all our listeners. If you are
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: ever get one of these, please write us in, please
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: for box whatever. It's all good. We appreciate that Ash
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: and London a bit of a change of topic from
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: Bill and Mayo. But I noticed in Mike Reese's Sunday
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: roundup he pointed out two of this year's London teams
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: are on the Patriots schedule. Do you think he was
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: just connecting dots or was it informed speculation? Cough twice
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: if you can't say, but are coming like well if
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: like cough it's not because of that. No, we don't know.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: But usually even before the schedule release, the International Games
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: are sometimes announced, so maybe we'll find out.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: And Mike was just pointing out. We actually said that
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: last week on this show that two of the teams
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: that were deemed as hosts for the International Games are
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: opponents for the Patriots. Yeah, road opponents, I wrote, opponents.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I'd be open to going to London again.
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: Well, I mean will we will we do it up?
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: Or would that just be kind of like the team and.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: They know it would be the it's not our home
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: market team. Yeah, wouldn't be.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: We will we send Patriots on filtered there because the
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: fans probably are clamoring for maybe.
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: Maybe you could go to.
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: We definitely have to break back to journey.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: I'd be in year thirty.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Nine your show and listen all the time.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: You guys are hilarious. I want more of that in
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: my life.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Uh like suddenly turned into like a late seventies like Rocker.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go to Harry in Connecticut. What's up, Harry? Hey, guys,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: I just.
- 1:31:51Speaker 21: Wanted your take on where where is the bar?
- 1:31:55Speaker 15: For you?
- 1:31:56Speaker 21: Guys are talking about a last episode? Just you want
- 1:31:59Speaker 21: it the progression, whether that's you know, a couple more wins.
- 1:32:04Speaker 21: You know, I don't know where that that bar is.
- 1:32:06Speaker 21: I think Robert Kraft on his Don Mao's introduction was,
- 1:32:10Speaker 21: you know, saying he was very confident that this is
- 1:32:13Speaker 21: the guy that he wants. But is he going to
- 1:32:15Speaker 21: be very confident if we have a couple more losing seasons?
- 1:32:20Speaker 21: Like how long did you give them?
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: By question? Yeah, it's a good question.
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: Now, I mean at least at least what three years?
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: I mean, I would say that's the minimum, but it's
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: it's it's just finding Harry. I think two Yeah, I
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: mean that's fair.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: It would have to be, but it would have to
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: be really what does it look like?
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: What's happened?
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: You know that would have to look really bad.
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: Yeah, And it's just that feeling of coming out of
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: a season. I mean, we've talked about a bunch of
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: times with what the ninety four season, where you know,
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: it's like started to come together a little bit, you know,
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: you felt like you had something. I think that's just
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: the feeling you want to come out of the season with,
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: whether you know, of course you want to be in
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: the playoffs. And you know, I just I'm I'm so
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: impressed with green Bay. Like, I just love how they've
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: built things post FARV and you know how they took
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: care of Ara Shaan Gary and you know, they're I
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: just think they're doing it the right way. They drafted
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: a bunch of wide receivers and they got Jordan Love
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: some time to develop and they you know, stuck with
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: him and you know.
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: He's a green Bay Packers.
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: That's the only way to make a quarterback succession plan
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: is to draft one four years.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Before your and you happen to have a Hall of
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: Famer in place.
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: Yeah, like, but I know, but that's not even for me.
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: It's Patriot situation.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: I know, I know, but it's just you know, it's
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: the two tight ends last year, it's the two receivers,
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: it's Christian Watson's here, and you know and it's like, look, wow,
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: what happens in.
- 1:33:41Speaker 14: Todays are the Patriots could have easily been the green
- 1:33:45Speaker 14: Bay Packers in a different universe, Like they could have
- 1:33:47Speaker 14: had all the players that that green Bay currently is
- 1:33:50Speaker 14: in the playoffs with. Could all I mean not all,
- 1:33:53Speaker 14: but you know what, you know, all their young core,
- 1:33:56Speaker 14: Christian Watson, Romeo Dobbs.
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: They were all available.
- 1:34:00Speaker 9: Comes down to they have the receiver Jane.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, how did you pronounce his first name?
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: J Jayden read Red?
- 1:34:08Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: Would you have would you come up with?
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: Jordan Love?
- 1:34:12Speaker 14: Was John Jarren Jordan twenty I think twenty twenty draft.
- 1:34:17Speaker 14: So they ended up they took Kyle Dugger, they ended
- 1:34:19Speaker 14: up trading out, and I think Jordan Love went like
- 1:34:22Speaker 14: twenty sixth I.
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: Think you're right. It's just like it's the simple equation.
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: When you draft well, you can do things like I
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: don't think if the Patriots, if Jordan Love was the
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: quarterback of the Patriots last year, I think they might
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: have gone four and thirteen. I'm like, maybe they would
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: have won a couple more games. But he they he's
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: developed well, and I do think that something to be said.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: I don't think you have to sit as long as
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: Rogers in love set like you can sit a year,
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: you don't have to hit three. Yeah, but they also
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: have done with Mike said, those young guys around him
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: Mos have been pretty and Aaron Aaron Jones is a pretty.
- 1:35:02Speaker 9: Good back, like they have.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: They have some good talent. Now the defense is a
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: train wreck that I don't know what Dallas did last
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: week because that that guy Joe Barry has been like
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: I don't know if you follow anybody like outside, like
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: that guy that you guys were with, Aaron Nagler. Nagler,
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: Oh my god, does he destroyed Joe Barry every single week?
- 1:35:24Speaker 14: Yeah, I feel like Joe Barry is one week he's fired,
- 1:35:27Speaker 14: the next week he's he's back. But like it's very
- 1:35:30Speaker 14: sea sawing with him. He runs that that fangio too
- 1:35:33Speaker 14: high safety type of defense.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: But I told you what happened. Paul del Rio, Green
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: Bay got a call from a certain freelance head coach
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: about how to attack Denver Dallas's offense.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: It didn't work, and it didn't work. He didn't get
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: him out.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: No, but now I have the second part of that.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: Dallas found out about that.
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: Oh, and they're like, we're not jokes on you. We're
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: not even gonna fire him to mind us.
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: So can I ask a serious question and there's no
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: answer to it, Just wondering what you guys all think.
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: Do you think Jerry Jones reached out at all to
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: Bill or do you think there was any communication between
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Jerry Jones and Bill at all?
- 1:36:13Speaker 9: I think maybe a little bit.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: But if that happened, don't you think it'd be out there?
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: It would get out somehow with Bill?
- 1:36:20Speaker 9: I mean, it just depends on what they like.
- 1:36:22Speaker 14: A text is a text, right, like with a conversation,
- 1:36:25Speaker 14: and there's different lines.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: I'm assuming Bill still has an agent, right, I.
- 1:36:30Speaker 14: Think he has somebody that helps him with the number
- 1:36:33Speaker 14: the actual I don't think he has an agent. It
- 1:36:35Speaker 14: was Neil Cornridge, but I don't think that they I
- 1:36:38Speaker 14: don't think he's formally You know what agents do is.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: They want people to think my client is in demand,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: so they get this stuff out there so other teams know.
- 1:36:47Speaker 14: I am sure there is somebody, whether it's Neil Cornridge
- 1:36:50Speaker 14: still or somebody else that's doing Bill's bidding.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe not, Maybe they didn't reach out.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: I don't know, and I don't I don't have the answer.
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: I just thought it was interesting, Like, yeah, do you
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: think that maybe Jerry Jones, like, because you can make
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: an argument on a lot of different sides to make
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: Jerry Jones said, Okay, you know we're gonna stick with
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: McCarthy because I reached out to Bill. He wasn't really interested, right,
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: you know? Or like Jerry Jones has a reputation for
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: being pretty patient with his coaches. He does like he
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: doesn't you know, Jason, Jerry stuck around for a long
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: time when people thought every year he was going to
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: get fired.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: See Ioways shot that up to Jerry doesn't really want
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: another Jimmy Johnson.
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: He doesn't want a strong He wants a puppy.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: He really wants to be in charge and he doesn't
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: want to And as long as my coach is doing
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: what I tell him to do, leave him there.
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: You didn't hear big Jim did a bit on this yesterday.
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: He did the fake call. Did you hear it? You
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: know I'm talking about you heard it? Just too good,
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: so funny.
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: And then when he breaks in, when he breaks character
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: and he goes back to his own voice like in
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: the middle of it. Number one I'll give you my
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: number one.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: I give my number one.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: Whore what it's going to take.
- 1:37:59Speaker 4: Bill, Like.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Colin Denver writes in I'm extremely disappointed with Robert's decision.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: I wanted a fresh start. But if Robert had interviewed
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: several candidates and considered all the options before concluding that
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: the best head coach candidate was Mail, then I would
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: have accepted that crafted his due diligence and made a
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: well informed decision. But this, I mean, come on, he
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: didn't even try to pretend that he was looking for
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: the best candidate. He just picked the guy who was
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: in front of him. I sure hope Mayo makes this
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: email look stupid over the next few years, but I
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: don't have any reasons to believe that he will. I'm
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: telling you, Cole, if you didn't hear the beginning of
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: the show, my advice to you is, in Robert Kraft's
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: eighty two years of existence, his instincts have served him well.
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: And he said yesterday that he basing this decision on
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: his instincts. And I'm taking some solace in that. I'm,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: you know, hoping that that works out like it has
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: in the past.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: Fred is reminding me of like Jess Up and in
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: a few good men, it's like, you know, please tell
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: me you've given them something other than my favorite color.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: You know, two marines lives are at stake here yet, right,
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: you know, and like friends like well, Robertson's thinks have
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: never failed over the past.
- 1:39:16Speaker 14: I just I would say that I've talked to a
- 1:39:18Speaker 14: lot of people at this point about Girard and like
- 1:39:21Speaker 14: everybody that knows Gerard or knew Gerard when he was
- 1:39:24Speaker 14: a player, like nobody's surprised that he that he were here,
- 1:39:29Speaker 14: Like nobody's surprised by it.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: But here's the thing, and that's a good point. You know,
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: Cole for example, and there are others are not happy
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: with Robert didn't talk to a lot of other candidates.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: But that's not to say that Robert didn't talk to
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: a lot of people about Gerard, and in that he
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: it became an informed decision, like I have a good
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: feeling about this guy, but I'm gonna make sure. And
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: maybe he talked to dozens of people about Gerard.
- 1:39:57Speaker 14: May I mean there's people that said to me that
- 1:39:59Speaker 14: he was born to be the Patriots head coach, Like literally,
- 1:40:03Speaker 14: those are the words out of their mouths, like, I
- 1:40:04Speaker 14: don't know if he's going to be a good coach
- 1:40:06Speaker 14: or not, but the fact is is.
- 1:40:08Speaker 9: That he he has like some sort of gravitas, and I.
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: Can I agree with it. I think he's you know,
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: when he was talking yesterday, he commanded the room. I
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: think there's something to that. We've been told that about
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: the shared defensive coordinator thing, that he delivers the message
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: because he's better at it than Steve, you know, so
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: you could see some of that yesterday. I don't have
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: any issue with the selection only My only question was
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: just I just I didn't necessarily need to have people
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: he talked to about Gerard. I wanted him to talk
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: to other people about other ways of doing things. I
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: get it, that's all. I'm just if you wanted to
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: pickture Odd. I love the guy. I mean, I think
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: he's a strong presence. I'm like you said at the
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: very top of the show, Mike, it's like refreshed.
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: But Jarrod basically said, we're going to do things differently.
- 1:40:58Speaker 14: We just need to see the people that put I
- 1:41:00Speaker 14: have no problem whatsoever with Gerrod Mayo. I think he's
- 1:41:03Speaker 14: a really good coach, a really good person. I think
- 1:41:06Speaker 14: he is a head coach. I think he's head coach material.
- 1:41:09Speaker 14: But who's who's making personnel decisions? Who's the offensive coordinator?
- 1:41:13Speaker 14: Like I don't necessarily worry as much about the defense
- 1:41:15Speaker 14: because that's his expertise, But they're if they're going to
- 1:41:18Speaker 14: draft a quarterback third overall, who the offensive coordinator is
- 1:41:22Speaker 14: is humongous, Like that is such a huge deal.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: I did it again. Who's the you know, the decision makers?
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: To your point, how are they determining which one of
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: these three? You know, Like when you guys were finishing
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: up catch twenty two, you know, Alex was saying, you know,
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: it's one of the three, and you know, I don't
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: want that. Yeah, I don't want them to say, oh,
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: I'd be happy with any of the three. I want
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: them to identify the one that they like the best. Yeah,
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: and then if they if they can get them. Now,
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: maybe you can't, maybe maybe you don't think the trade
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: is worth it, right if you can't guarantee that that
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: that one is going to be available. But I don't
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: like the idea of I'd be happy with any of
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: those three. Because now we're into the Felger part of it,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: where yeah, there'll be four or five guys taken and
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: one or two and the will be able to play,
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: you know. And I think that if you look at
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: the history, the third quarterback taken isn't generally great, right yeah, true,
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: h QB three. As as the kids like this, just yea,
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: we got two picks.
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh my god? All right, just one one
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: quick thing, just a little business related things. In the past,
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: we had a show where somebody called up and gave
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: us some Ben Johnson anecdotes about it.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: Turns out it was really a bad guy.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: No, according to this guy Josh and Edmonton. That's a
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: whole Reddit thing. And they think it's people from Detroit,
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: Detroit who didn't want to lose him putting that out there.
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: I so we might have gotten played a little.
- 1:42:59Speaker 9: This guy Jared playing like we didn't.
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: Yeah, well we made fun of it. We made fun
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: of the guy I did anyway, I know, But we
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: gave him a platform.
- 1:43:07Speaker 9: Jared Jared Goss playing like an m v P. And
- 1:43:09Speaker 9: that's Jared Goff.
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: So I gotta be a better story.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: Goff can't play. You have to listen to my shows more.
- 1:43:16Speaker 9: He can't. He's well, they think everybody besides.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Like correct home and he doesn't count because he was tenth.
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: This gotta be a better story to make up about
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: why Ben Johnson's a bad guy than he stood up
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: in front of like his kids play and was like
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: watch my kid. Like that's just that.
- 1:43:30Speaker 9: Should have been the first do you remember?
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: What do you remember at the time? And listen, I
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: get duped by these things all the time. Andy Hart
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: called into the show. I didn't know it was Andy
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: Hart Rogers, so I get I get duped on this crap.
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: All the time.
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: I didn't buy that one for a second.
- 1:43:44Speaker 14: Yeah, that's like when what's her name didn't know that
- 1:43:47Speaker 14: it was her It was Donnie Wahlberg and the Mass singer.
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it should have been like he stole my wife
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: from me, you know, like something like.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: I saw Donny on the Singer and Jenny didn't know
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: it was him.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: Oh that's funny, Yeah, it is funny.
- 1:43:59Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, all right, maybe that was a bit, you know, maybe.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: I always love when they do the reveal it's like, oh,
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: it's Evan Lazare from Catch twenty two and of course
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: Patriots Unfiltered, like they have to tell you everything about
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: the time Grammy Winner seven.
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: Time, Oscar.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: I don't watch mask Singer, so I have no interest.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: All right, So we had we had a ton of emails,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: a ton of calls. We can't get to them all.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: I apologize, but we'll be back next week. But it
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: is pickstime and Alex isn't here.
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: I don't know what she is.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: I know, I wonder why. I wonder why Alex is.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: There's a reason, there is a reason, and as we suspected,
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: I will get to the the results from last week,
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: and you can put two and two together as to
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: where Alex is. Fred. It's time to separate the men
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: from the boys. Playoff time Fred five and one, Fred,
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: followed by Paul at four and two, always second place,
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: Mike and Evan three and three, and well the.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: Queen Alex two and four.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: Well, you know, now is the time that it really counts.
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: This is her turn, you know, this is her denarious moment, like.
- 1:45:14Speaker 8: She just.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: With the spread. Paul four and two and everybody else
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: was three and three. Okay, all right, perfectly, So I
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: did I did touch I did touch base with Alex,
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: and I have her picks. I will put them in between,
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: Like why is she she's working on a RKK thirty anniversary.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: She couldn't take fifteen minutes to do this.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: I don't know what to tell you for. I don't
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: know what I do. I don't know what kind of
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: department you guys are up there?
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: All right, rugs. The first game is Sounds like You
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: Do Saturday at four thirty. This is on ESPN, ABC,
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: ESPN plus ESPN Deportes.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: It is the ten and seven Texans at the thirteen
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: and four Rave.
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: Baltimore war by nine and a half. Oh wow, oh jeez,
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: oh jeez.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: That's a big playoff number.
- 1:46:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Baltimore to win, but I'm gonna
- 1:46:10Speaker 4: take nine and a half points to Cleveland. They're they're
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: they're feisty.
- 1:46:13Speaker 9: Clevelan's at home.
- 1:46:14Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Houston, Houston, thank you. I'll still take that.
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: I was gonna write down Cleveland another would give a loss.
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: I'm no, it's also Baltimore, but she'll take the points.
- 1:46:26Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. I think that
- 1:46:29Speaker 14: the Ravens might come out a little bit what's the
- 1:46:32Speaker 14: word like nervous, No, like more like nervous because they
- 1:46:35Speaker 14: have a lot of at steak. You know, Lamar has
- 1:46:37Speaker 14: never really wanted the playoffs, and they have a lot
- 1:46:40Speaker 14: of steak, so I think that they might come out
- 1:46:42Speaker 14: a little a little nervous.
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: Evan's gonna probably explain to me why I'm wrong on this,
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: probably because I have nothing, nothing empirical to add on this.
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Baltimore and I'm gonna take the points. Also,
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: I know the Ravens defense statistically is off the charts?
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: Am I wrong to think? I don't really understand how Like,
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: I don't think it's quote unquote it's good. I'm not
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: telling you it's not good. I watched them play against him.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: I watched them play against San Francisco when I thought
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: they played really well that night. But I've seen them
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: play a few other times and I haven't really noticed.
- 1:47:13Speaker 9: Yea, and being there defensive coordinator is the balls?
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:47:16Speaker 9: Yeah, that guy knows what he's doing.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: So I will take the points though, because I think
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: I think c J. Stroud, I think that group. I
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: don't know if the weather's supposed to be a factor.
- 1:47:25Speaker 9: But I like it's going to be a factor in Detroit.
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: I like that.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: I like that Bobby Slowic offense. So I'm going to
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: take the points here.
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: Here's here's what you have. First of all, what's the
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: weather going to be like in Baltimore?
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: I just asked that I have no idea.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: When when the when the points centers give you such
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: a big spread nine and a half in the playoffs,
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: you have to Yeah, the sharps know something. The Sharps
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: know something. So this is where you know, you accept
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: the points. Paul, Well, you accept the spread and you
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: take the Ravens both way.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a long way to Grandmaselfs.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so Ravens both ways in this game because the
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: Sharps know something. It you know it should it should?
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: You know, raise the red flag when you see that
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: biggest spread. That's because the Sharps know something. So you
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: go with the Ravens both ways. Eight fifteen Fox and
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: by the way, Fox Deportist they have at the Portaste too,
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: nine and eight. Packers are at the twelve and five
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: forty nine ers.
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: San Francisco by nine and a.
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: Half, nine and a half.
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: Again, Buffalo was fared by ten last week.
- 1:48:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I I I'm gonna that made sense though, it
- 1:48:36Speaker 9: was amazing.
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: I mean, I'm gonna listen to Fred's advice from that
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: last from his last rent right there, I'll take San
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: Francisco and I'm actually gonna lay the points.
- 1:48:44Speaker 14: I'm gonna take the Niners both ways. I think that
- 1:48:48Speaker 14: you know, historically, the Niners have owned the Packers in
- 1:48:52Speaker 14: the playoffs, right, That's that's true, But that was what
- 1:48:54Speaker 14: Ann Rodgers.
- 1:48:55Speaker 9: I still think it's the Niners.
- 1:48:57Speaker 14: I just I'm not totally so old that Jordan Love
- 1:49:00Speaker 14: is about to like put the team on his back
- 1:49:02Speaker 14: and bring him on a run.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: So I don't think they're gonna run like that against
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: the Niners. Alex also has the Niners both ways. I'm
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: going to join the boys and in Alex be like.
- 1:49:13Speaker 14: That Niners Seahawks game last year, where like it's close
- 1:49:16Speaker 14: at half and then the blew him out in the
- 1:49:18Speaker 14: second half.
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: Here's where you have to you have to look at
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: the hot team in the playoffs, and right now, how
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: can you argue that it's not the Packers.
- 1:49:30Speaker 9: We've only played one week, all right, but.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: They beat they beat a highly the top seed right now,
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: the second seed. We beat the second seed, so still
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: very good.
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: They're the only team that pulled an.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Upset, so forty nine ers win, but they don't.
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: It's the only road team, right, only road team wins.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: There's the only road team to win.
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: Listen, Sorry Sharps didn't know something on this.
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: One, right, This is where the forty nine ers are
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: overvalued in the market. In the market, why get them
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: waving all? They trying to bring in the Green Bay money.
- 1:50:04Speaker 9: You real base are upset the Niners and I am
- 1:50:07Speaker 9: never going to end with But the Green.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: Bay people aren't notorious betters, so they're trying to bring
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: in the Green Bay you know.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: So you have to you have to know who's still
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: going to do it.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: You have to know how the Sharps think and how
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: the betting houses think.
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know how they think.
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: Are you going to make a pick or not?
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: Good?
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: He did?
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: I like when Paul gets yeah for the forty nine
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: ers win, but they don't cover Okay, all right, I'm
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: just trying to give you know, our listeners some into.
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: Sight zoned out in the middle of that wisdom with
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: the you know these people are.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: I apologize for talking over then I do not Sunday
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: we move on to Sunday three o'clock. This is on
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: NBC Peacock and Universo the Cock.
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: This is on NBC on Sunday, Brand and Spice Channel.
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: That's rare Sunday afternoon on NBC.
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: The old Interview. Yeah, nine and eight Buccaneers are at
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: the twelve and five Lions.
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: Destroys by six and a half. Supposed to be cold Detroit.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: They're gonna turn that.
- 1:51:10Speaker 9: They're prepping.
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: I know, I know to what you are referring that was.
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: That was pretty funny. Every reporter's nightmare, right like, just man,
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: it's just one of those weird games. I'm gonna take
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: Detroit and I'm gonna just what the point six and
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: a half. Hey, I'm gonna do it now, you know
- 1:51:30Speaker 4: what I'm not. I'm gonna take Detroit, but i'm gonna
- 1:51:31Speaker 4: take the points for Tampa. My apologize.
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: I have crossouts. Okay, Alex also has Detroit with Tampa
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: to the points.
- 1:51:43Speaker 14: I'm gonna take Detroit both ways, and I've been you know,
- 1:51:46Speaker 14: Dan Campbell is not my thing, Okay. I'm not a
- 1:51:48Speaker 14: kneecaps guy. I'm not a red face motivator type of
- 1:51:52Speaker 14: coach type of guy. But I'll give him some props.
- 1:51:55Speaker 14: You know, he's he's winning me over a little bit.
- 1:51:58Speaker 14: I think those he's got that. That team pretty buttoned up.
- 1:52:01Speaker 14: So I'm going to take the Lions both ways. It's
- 1:52:03Speaker 14: a nice draw for the Lions though, to get the Buccaneers.
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: He yes, oh.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: Huge, it's great.
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to take the Lions both ways too.
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: I think there was a lot of pressure on them
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: last week. They were able to get the win. I
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: think they play a little looser and then who knows
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: getting the conference championship game.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Ye, here's where the books got it right. Lions both ways, Lions, Yep,
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: the run of Baker comes to an end. Although I'll
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: be rooting for Baker to Actually, this is a tough
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: game for me. I want I like both teams right now.
- 1:52:35Speaker 9: The Lions might be the most fun team.
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that was my like.
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: I enjoyed the Rams game, but it was frustrating because
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: I was rooting for both teams to score every time.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: I love watching Baker bake, but I think the Lions
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: went Uh. Now we go to six thirty, six thirty
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: Game of the Weday Night on CBS and Paramount Plus.
- 1:52:55Speaker 9: You gotta have Paramount, you got a plus, got to
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: plus it up.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: Eleven and six Chiefs.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: None of these games are on that stuff, right, No,
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: I don't regular.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think any of them are.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that stuff.
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: Eleven and six Chiefs. No historic games, Paul. That was embarrassing.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: They no historic games with like eighty million people watching, right,
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: It's eleven and six Chiefs at the eleven and six Bills.
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: Buffalo by two and a half. Oh by far and away.
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: The closest weather it.
- 1:53:25Speaker 9: Could be a factor in this game.
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: They're getting more Yeah, they're supposed to get more snow,
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: but they think they'll be okay to have the game.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna have to cancel it.
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: They they said it's a great this is a great game.
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: This is a fun one. Lot of storylines, a lot
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: of history between these teams recently. And I like Buffalo
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: to get over the home at home against Kansas City.
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: Send Taylor Swift home. I mean, tough day for Taylor
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: Swift there in Buffalo. I'll take Buffalo, lay the points.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: Alex also takes Buffalo both ways.
- 1:53:55Speaker 14: I'm taking the Chiefs until the Chiefs lose. I just
- 1:53:59Speaker 14: am going to ride the Chiefs. I think that you
- 1:54:01Speaker 14: have the best quarterback. I think they have the best coach,
- 1:54:03Speaker 14: and they're gonna keep riding it until maybe, you know,
- 1:54:06Speaker 14: I just don't think Buffalo is good enough to really
- 1:54:10Speaker 14: mask those weaknesses of Kansas City to make those come out.
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: So I'm gonna take the Bills or excuse me, the Chiefs. Yeah,
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: I think that's a logical. I'm going to pick Buffalo
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: at home. But yeah, I think betting against Kansas City
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: is not wise.
- 1:54:25Speaker 9: I just can't.
- 1:54:26Speaker 14: I'm just not sold that the Bills are are gonna
- 1:54:29Speaker 14: get over the hump, like they're the Bills.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: And I also and I also would have like Kansas
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: City is kind of a different team that you know,
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: they contend to run Pa Checko between the tackles and
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: all of those guys being out for the Bills. They
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: lost a lot of guys during that game. I don't
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: know who's coming back, who's going to be able to play.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: If Bernard can play, that's a big loss. They're already down.
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: Liked h Klein is out there playing like the whole
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: second half last week. But I'm I'm just gonna bet
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: on Josh Allen to get it done.
- 1:55:01Speaker 14: Isn't this a game though? That's like the Chiefs have
- 1:55:04Speaker 14: become tough. Like the Chiefs are of a good defense,
- 1:55:08Speaker 14: good offensive line. It's kind of like some of the
- 1:55:11Speaker 14: Patriots teams you know later on in Brady's career, like
- 1:55:14Speaker 14: eighteen Patriots right, where like it's not all this like
- 1:55:18Speaker 14: forty point offense anymore, more like.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: The three Patriots.
- 1:55:21Speaker 9: Oh yeah sure.
- 1:55:22Speaker 14: But the Bills, I just I feel like they're soft, right,
- 1:55:25Speaker 14: and I feel like the Chiefs are just going to
- 1:55:27Speaker 14: bully them.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: I didn't think the Bills was soft last week though.
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: Did you watch that game? No?
- 1:55:31Speaker 9: But I think they just were playing a tomato.
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: My instincts are quite what Robert crafts are. They're up there,
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: but not quite I think. And my instincts tell me
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: that the Chiefs win this game.
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: Wow, that panel is Yeah, so.
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: This is one like the Kansas City, I mean, the
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: the Rams Detroit game. For me, like I normally would
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: root for both of these teams if they were playing
- 1:55:53Speaker 3: someone a great game.
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: You just want to see both teams succeeds.
- 1:55:55Speaker 9: This is when I started against Allen. Yeah, I know
- 1:55:58Speaker 9: I don't need the Bills, wouldn't it.
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: I just like watching Mahomes and Josh Allen play, so
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: I enjoy that you're the real winner. I like watching offense.
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: Is it that late?
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: I have a meeting?
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: Allow me to Okay, we can.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: Go, so the picks are in uh, and we'll see
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: what happens. I can't wait. Good weekend of football and
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: we will see everybody next Tuesday, unless we need to
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: have an emergency podcast, which is an out of the question.
