- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York Kate Still Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone show on seven tenor.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Lots to get to today. We'll get to the President's
- 0:16Speaker 3: amazing press briefing yesterday. The rescue operation he went into
- 0:21Speaker 3: detail was so powerful and moving describing that rescue operation.
- 0:25Speaker 3: For those of you to watch the NBC Nightly News,
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'm just telling you about this because if you watch
- 0:30Speaker 3: the NBC Nightly News, you wouldn't have known about it.
- 0:32Speaker 3: They didn't they didn't feel it was worth covering. We'll
- 0:35Speaker 3: get to that. We'll get to Stephen Colbert, he's gone,
- 0:37Speaker 3: he's fired, he's out. We'll get to what the replacement
- 0:40Speaker 3: will be. We'll get to Savannah Guthrie, and there's more
- 0:44Speaker 3: on the Mother and we'll get to Mom Donnie. We'll
- 0:46Speaker 3: get to the Cross Bronx, We'll get to Artemis and
- 0:51Speaker 3: all of that just ahead. President tonight at eight o'clock
- 0:56Speaker 3: says that's the deadline. If Iran doesn't agree to every
- 1:01Speaker 3: he will start taking out all the bridges and power plants.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Now we're getting a report, not absolutely confirmed, but we
- 1:07Speaker 3: are getting a report that Iran at the moment has
- 1:10Speaker 3: cut off all talks. We talked through third parties. But
- 1:13Speaker 3: we'll see what happens now. Also earlier this morning, the
- 1:17Speaker 3: US did attack carg Island, crucial piece of real estate there.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Carg Island is the hub of all of the Iranian
- 1:25Speaker 3: oil industry. It's their main oil depot. For them to
- 1:28Speaker 3: be in the oil business, sell oil, it has to
- 1:31Speaker 3: take place on carg Island. Now, we hit it this
- 1:34Speaker 3: morning with about fifty strikes, but we didn't touch the
- 1:37Speaker 3: oil that sort of infrastructure. All we hit were the
- 1:40Speaker 3: military things on carg Island. We took out the air defense,
- 1:44Speaker 3: we took out all the defense systems, we took out
- 1:47Speaker 3: the bunkers, we took out all the military operations there.
- 1:52Speaker 3: This could just be symbolic, or it could be preparation
- 1:55Speaker 3: for taking over carg Island, getting rid of all defense
- 1:58Speaker 3: and military stuff on the island. So eight o'clock tonight,
- 2:02Speaker 3: we'll see what happens. The President threatening to take out
- 2:06Speaker 3: all the bridges, power plants. Now, if you're we just
- 2:09Speaker 3: have to as a public service do this. If you're
- 2:12Speaker 3: an MS NOW viewer or a CNN viewer, you have
- 2:14Speaker 3: no idea what's going on. You're being told this would
- 2:17Speaker 3: be a war crime to hit bridges and it's the
- 2:19Speaker 3: worst war crime. This is an absolute war crime. This
- 2:22Speaker 3: is absolutely not a war crime. If you talk to
- 2:25Speaker 3: any expert, on real expert, not an MSNBC one, but
- 2:29Speaker 3: a real legal expert, it's not a war crime. It's
- 2:32Speaker 3: done all the time in every war. Bridges and power
- 2:35Speaker 3: plants are a very common target in war. We do
- 2:39Speaker 3: it all the time. We've done it that We've taken
- 2:41Speaker 3: out entire cities World War two, we took out Dresden,
- 2:45Speaker 3: fire bombed the whole city. Horotima is a good example.
- 2:49Speaker 3: These are not war crimes. You can do this in war.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So we'll see what happens at eight o'clock tonight. Now,
- 2:57Speaker 3: you know, is flexible president. It could be another extension.
- 3:02Speaker 3: He likes these extensions. But we'll see what happens. The
- 3:05Speaker 3: briefing yesterday was pretty powerful describing exactly how this guy
- 3:10Speaker 3: was rescued. It was an incredible operation. You know, they
- 3:14Speaker 3: spent about three hundred and fifty million dollars to get
- 3:18Speaker 3: this guy back, and a lot of presidents wouldn't do
- 3:21Speaker 3: anything like that. Remember Clinton leaving Americans and Somalia, Obama
- 3:27Speaker 3: leaving troops in Libya, Biden leaving people in Afghanistan. It's
- 3:31Speaker 3: happened a lot, and apparently, as Trump confirmed, a lot
- 3:36Speaker 3: of the military did not want to do the rescue operation.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Not that they wouldn't like to rescue the guy, they
- 3:41Speaker 3: just thought it was too risky. You'd be putting hundreds
- 3:44Speaker 3: of lives at risk because it took hundreds of people
- 3:47Speaker 3: to go in there and get the guy back. So
- 3:50Speaker 3: a lot of the military argued against it, a lot
- 3:53Speaker 3: of them. Hexith and General Kin, they were fully on
- 3:57Speaker 3: board with it, but it was the president who micro
- 4:01Speaker 3: managed the thing, stayed on top of it. That's why
- 4:04Speaker 3: he canceled his weekend trip to Palm Beach and decided
- 4:07Speaker 3: it had to be done, whatever the cost. And it took.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Now listen to this, one hundred and fifty five military
- 4:14Speaker 3: aircraft were on that rescue. One hundred and fifty five aircraft,
- 4:19Speaker 3: including four bombers, sixty four fighters, forty eight refueling tankers,
- 4:25Speaker 3: thirteen rescue aircraft. A lot of it was subterfuge. One
- 4:29Speaker 3: of the reasons they did this. A lot of these
- 4:32Speaker 3: aircraft went to other locations just to confuse the Iranians
- 4:35Speaker 3: about where the airman was and where the rescue was
- 4:40Speaker 3: and it was really tough. They had to fly very
- 4:42Speaker 3: very very low on some of this. As President Trump
- 4:46Speaker 3: pointed out, we've got helicopters with bullet holes in. It
- 4:49Speaker 3: was about a three hundred and fifty million dollar rescue.
- 4:53Speaker 3: When they say boots on the ground, we've already had
- 4:55Speaker 3: boots on the ground and Iran twice. We did it
- 4:57Speaker 3: for the first pilot that was rescued a few days ago,
- 5:00Speaker 3: and we did it again this weekend. There were about
- 5:02Speaker 3: one hundred commandos on the ground and they had to
- 5:06Speaker 3: scale that mountain seven thousand feet. The pilot badly wounded.
- 5:11Speaker 3: First had to take care of his wounds. This is
- 5:14Speaker 3: all in the training, how to dress your wounds, and
- 5:16Speaker 3: then how to mountain climb. He had to climb seven
- 5:20Speaker 3: thousand feet, find a crevice a cave to hide in,
- 5:24Speaker 3: which he did, and then they knew his location because
- 5:28Speaker 3: he kept sending out a beacon, which is very accurate,
- 5:31Speaker 3: like right down to the inch where he is. When
- 5:33Speaker 3: they tried to land all these heavy aircraft, they were
- 5:35Speaker 3: landing on at times very wet sand and they were
- 5:38Speaker 3: sinking into the sand. Very very difficult operation, but a
- 5:43Speaker 3: lot of boots on the ground. They got it done,
- 5:46Speaker 3: They got him out of there. It was an amazing thing.
- 5:49Speaker 3: The press conference was so moving and so powerful that
- 5:52Speaker 3: a lot of the network news made sure not to
- 5:54Speaker 3: show it, not to let anybody see it, not to
- 5:58Speaker 3: let anybody know about it. You think about what happened.
- 6:01Speaker 3: The guy is shot down on a Friday, on Good Friday,
- 6:03Speaker 3: shot down hiding in a cave, and rescued on Easter Sunday,
- 6:09Speaker 3: flown out as the sun was rising on Easter Sunday.
- 6:12Speaker 3: An amazing thing. You know, this would be an incredible movie.
- 6:16Speaker 3: This is the kind of story. Every producer in hollywould
- 6:20Speaker 3: be going nuts with the check book trying to buy
- 6:23Speaker 3: the rights to this. But because Trump is a hero
- 6:26Speaker 3: in this, because it was Trump, no movie. There'll be
- 6:31Speaker 3: no movie about this. There'll be no books about it,
- 6:33Speaker 3: There'll be no movie about it. If it were Obama's president,
- 6:37Speaker 3: there'd be seventeen movies on the drawing boards, forty two
- 6:40Speaker 3: books would be in the works. Now, nobody was killed
- 6:43Speaker 3: in this operation. You gotta remember there's an important statistic.
- 6:46Speaker 3: More people have been killed in Chicago in the last
- 6:48Speaker 3: five weeks that we've had this war. More people have
- 6:51Speaker 3: been killed in Chicago with the gunfire all over the streets.
- 6:54Speaker 3: More people have been killed in Chicago than in our
- 6:58Speaker 3: war and Iran. In fact, how many soldiers were losing
- 7:01Speaker 3: the last week is zero. How many people were killed
- 7:03Speaker 3: in Chicago in the last week. I think it's eleven
- 7:05Speaker 3: were shot. It's not even close. So we'll see what
- 7:10Speaker 3: happens later. President yesterday was now here's another thing they're after.
- 7:16Speaker 3: We put out this false story through the CIA. It
- 7:18Speaker 3: leaked it out through all kinds of sources that would
- 7:21Speaker 3: get back to Iran. This is when the pilot was
- 7:24Speaker 3: still missing. We leaked out that we've got him, that
- 7:27Speaker 3: he's been rescued, and we were taking him out in
- 7:30Speaker 3: an amphibious operation at the sea that was to throw
- 7:33Speaker 3: off the enemy. Well, somebody in the Pentagon started leaking
- 7:36Speaker 3: out that it's not true that the pilot was still missing.
- 7:40Speaker 3: He was still hidden somewhere in Iran. Whoever the leaker
- 7:44Speaker 3: has put everybody in danger, and President Trump says they're
- 7:48Speaker 3: hunting for this leaker. They will find this leaker. Somebody
- 7:51Speaker 3: in the government leaked it to the Washington Post, to CBS,
- 7:55Speaker 3: to Reuters, and the presidents as they'll track him down.
- 7:58Speaker 4: We have to find that leaker, because that's a sick person.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Probably didn't realize the extent of how bad it was.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I can't imagine that the person did.
- 8:06Speaker 5: But we're going to find out.
- 8:07Speaker 4: It's national security and the person that did the story
- 8:12Speaker 4: will go to jail if he doesn't say and that
- 8:15Speaker 4: doesn't last long, and I think everybody would understand that
- 8:18Speaker 4: they put this mission at great risk.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah, now you got to reveal the source. Now that
- 8:22Speaker 3: this happened before where they threatened to put you in
- 8:25Speaker 3: jail if you don't reveal. You know, the press, they
- 8:27Speaker 3: never want to reveal their source. You're never supposed to
- 8:29Speaker 3: do that. But this is different. This is serious, serious,
- 8:32Speaker 3: serious national security. So they won't fool around with us.
- 8:35Speaker 3: They'll put the person in jail. It's happened. Remember the great,
- 8:39Speaker 3: great journalist Judith Miller went to jail over that. Remember
- 8:43Speaker 3: Mary Tyler Moore in one episode went to jail over
- 8:45Speaker 3: not really a leaker. But so somebody from CBS or
- 8:50Speaker 3: the Washington Post or somewhere will end up going to
- 8:52Speaker 3: jail over this. Hey, a good news is this is
- 8:55Speaker 3: very good news. They say there's no good news anymore. Well,
- 8:59Speaker 3: here's some Stephen Colbert has been fired. He'll be thrown
- 9:02Speaker 3: off the air May twenty first. That'll be the last
- 9:05Speaker 3: time you'll ever see this guy on network television. Now,
- 9:08Speaker 3: what's going to replace Colbert? Well, it's going to be
- 9:12Speaker 3: Byron Allen, the comedian. Byron Allen, over the last couple
- 9:16Speaker 3: of decades, built a television empire, became a billionaire by
- 9:22Speaker 3: if sometimes you've seen these shows through the years, these
- 9:24Speaker 3: comedian shows with Byron Allen. What's part of a massive
- 9:27Speaker 3: production company. He built in a massive empire that's now
- 9:31Speaker 3: made him a billionaire. And he's a great negotiator, very
- 9:36Speaker 3: powerful force out there in Hollywood. So he's convinced CBS
- 9:39Speaker 3: to hand him the hour and there'll be two things
- 9:44Speaker 3: in the eleven thirty slot. It'll be Comics Unleashed with
- 9:48Speaker 3: Byron Allen, and they're going to try something different in
- 9:51Speaker 3: late night. They're going to do actual comedy. Now, you
- 9:55Speaker 3: got to remember, Colbert's not a comedy show. It's a
- 9:58Speaker 3: political show. It's it's a hate filled show. They call
- 10:01Speaker 3: it the Late Show, they should call it the Hate Show.
- 10:03Speaker 3: It's a raging Trump derangement syndrome. Guy with like unbelievable
- 10:08Speaker 3: hate for President Trump, and that's his whole half. And
- 10:10Speaker 3: then Jimmy Kimmel copied that. So Byron Allen's going to
- 10:14Speaker 3: take it back to what Late Night was supposed to be,
- 10:17Speaker 3: just actual comedy entertainment. Laughs. Now this comic's unleashed every
- 10:24Speaker 3: night has a group of comedians and they're all very funny.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But here's the thing he has told them. The panel
- 10:31Speaker 3: has been told no politics. Quote. I tell the comedians
- 10:36Speaker 3: we're doing I Love Lucy. We want something that's in Evergreen.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Don't want to hear any political humor. Just be funny,
- 10:42Speaker 3: family friendly, advertiser friendly, funny. Now that's the first half hour.
- 10:49Speaker 3: The second half hour is going to be a comedy
- 10:51Speaker 3: game show, also produced by Byron Allen called Funny You
- 10:55Speaker 3: Should Ask. So it'll be this comedy show, no political jokes,
- 10:59Speaker 3: nothing political, and then a game show that will replace Colbert.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Now prediction it'll do very well in the ratings. Now,
- 11:08Speaker 3: I remember these late night shows have tiny audiences. Colbert
- 11:10Speaker 3: has a tiny audience. Kimmel has an even smaller audience.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So when they see this, this do well. If it
- 11:18Speaker 3: gets triple, which it probably will probably get triple. Colbert's ratings.
- 11:22Speaker 3: You'll see Kimmel go pretty soon because then ABC will
- 11:25Speaker 3: do something like that. Fallon is a different sort of
- 11:28Speaker 3: a guy. He's gotten into that Colbert kind of a trap.
- 11:32Speaker 3: But Fallon is really deep down. He's just a great
- 11:36Speaker 3: comedian Saturday Night Live and great impression. So Fallon can
- 11:40Speaker 3: convert back to a comedy show. He'll drop all the
- 11:43Speaker 3: politics and go back to a straight comedy show. So
- 11:46Speaker 3: this will be the last chance to save Late Night.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Colbert and Kimmell absolutely destroyed it. It was created That's
- 11:54Speaker 3: a Night Show by Steve Allen and then Jack Parr
- 11:57Speaker 3: and Johnny Carson was just comedy entertainment. Jay Leno continued
- 12:01Speaker 3: the tradition. Then these guys just took it right down
- 12:04Speaker 3: into the sewer, just made it hatefield political. Also, remember
- 12:08Speaker 3: when you do that kind of left wing, crazy partisans,
- 12:11Speaker 3: you're chasing away half the audience right away. Your half
- 12:15Speaker 3: of America can't watch. It's a crazy business model. Hey,
- 12:18Speaker 3: Savannah Guthrie was back yesterday on The Today Show. What
- 12:22Speaker 3: did it sound like? Her first moment on the air.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Had a sun coming up. Good morning, Welcome to Today
- 12:27Speaker 6: on this Monday morning. We are so glad you started
- 12:29Speaker 6: your week with us, and it is good to be home.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Yes, it is good to have you back at home.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Well, here we go, ready or not, let's do the news.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yes, so good to have you back. Yeah. So while
- 12:40Speaker 3: this is going on, there was a guy who, way
- 12:43Speaker 3: back when was sending ransom letters. A lot of different
- 12:45Speaker 3: ransom letters coming in, but there were a couple they
- 12:48Speaker 3: thought might be legitimate. There was one long ago. There
- 12:50Speaker 3: was weeks and months, a couple of months ago when
- 12:53Speaker 3: this happened, sending ransom notes to TMC. Well, the guy
- 12:56Speaker 3: was back yesterday sending new ransom notes, and this time's
- 13:03Speaker 3: saying he wants money to let them he can tell
- 13:06Speaker 3: them where the body is and who the kidnapper was.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And he said she's dead in the ransom she's dead,
- 13:13Speaker 3: but I can tell you where you'll find the body.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It went to Harvey Levin. He immediately turned it over
- 13:20Speaker 3: FBI and everything. TMZ got the letter here there.
- 13:23Speaker 7: We got another letter today from this person, an email
- 13:28Speaker 7: saying I know where her body is and who the
- 13:31Speaker 7: kidnapper is. Give us, give me half a bitcoin and
- 13:35Speaker 7: I'll tell you. And this person has been really persistent,
- 13:39Speaker 7: knowing that if it's a scam.
- 13:42Speaker 3: It's a federal crime. That's pretty interesting. I mean, you
- 13:46Speaker 3: got to assume she's dead. It's sixty five days without
- 13:50Speaker 3: her heart medicine, blood pressure medicine, and everything else. She's
- 13:55Speaker 3: got a pacemaker. Absolutely hard to believe she could you
- 14:00Speaker 3: live after sixty five days. So hey, the Artemis space
- 14:04Speaker 3: capsule orbiting the Moon took that great picture as they
- 14:08Speaker 3: came around the moon. You see the Moon and way
- 14:10Speaker 3: off in the distance up in the sky, little thing
- 14:13Speaker 3: U until you see the Earth. It's an incredible Instagram picture.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I know, you try to put up yourself at some
- 14:20Speaker 3: some amazing shot for Instagram. You can't top that one.
- 14:24Speaker 3: It costs like eight billion to get this Instagram shot.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But outside of that, I don't know what we're going
- 14:28Speaker 3: to do over there. But hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Itet hits and access to Mark by setting a pre
- 14:42Speaker 1: set in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 14:45Speaker 1: his podcast. Now back to the Mark Simone Show on wor.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:56Speaker 3: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three to
- 14:59Speaker 3: two one zero seven ten. Let's go to Rich and
- 15:02Speaker 3: Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing?
- 15:05Speaker 5: Hey? Thanks Mark. Last night, when I was watching the
- 15:07Speaker 5: basketball basketball game, I've got a phone survey from the
- 15:11Speaker 5: American Survey Company asking about my radio listening habits AM
- 15:16Speaker 5: and FM. Yeah, that's the first time that's ever happened
- 15:19Speaker 5: to me. So I told him, I said, listen, what
- 15:21Speaker 5: do you listen to? I said, well, I listened to
- 15:23Speaker 5: war from ten to noon. And what do he listened to?
- 15:26Speaker 5: I said, I listen to Mark Simone. He goes and
- 15:28Speaker 5: he couldn't understand my accent because this guy had a
- 15:30Speaker 5: Spanish accent also, but he says, WOA. I said, no WR.
- 15:34Speaker 5: And he says, what do you listen to an FM?
- 15:36Speaker 5: I said, I don't listen to FM radio in South Carolina,
- 15:39Speaker 5: but I listened to w R two hours a day
- 15:41Speaker 5: from Mark Simone. And I listened on iHeartRadio and he's
- 15:45Speaker 5: asking you know my name, and you know how old
- 15:47Speaker 5: are you and how many people in the house and
- 15:49Speaker 5: all that kind of crap, And he says, what do
- 15:51Speaker 5: you listen to for music? I said, listen to this
- 15:53Speaker 5: to serious radio. After Mark Simone, I go to the
- 15:56Speaker 5: Grateful Dead channel, listen to the concert of the day.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Oh my god, a Grateful Dead channel. Oh my god, yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 3: Grateful Dead.
- 16:04Speaker 5: My buddy Bob and San Diego.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 5: But the h IF. I listened to the Beatles channel,
- 16:09Speaker 5: and they got nice channels, I'm serious, like pop and
- 16:11Speaker 5: country hits. So you get a pop hit, then you
- 16:13Speaker 5: get a country hit from all different decades. But I
- 16:15Speaker 5: thought it'd be interesting because that's one of the first surveys.
- 16:18Speaker 5: And I was in radio for twenty five years too,
- 16:20Speaker 5: but that's the first time I ever got cold about
- 16:23Speaker 5: a radio survey. And how old are you? How much
- 16:25Speaker 5: you make? I said, I'm not answering that question, but
- 16:27Speaker 5: I told him, I said, for two hours every day,
- 16:30Speaker 5: five days a week. It's w O R marksimone from
- 16:33Speaker 5: ten to noon and I go listen to serious. I
- 16:35Speaker 5: couldn't even tell them the coal letters of an FM
- 16:38Speaker 5: station of South Carolina because I just don't listen to Well.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Unfortunately, nobody's ever heard of the American Survey Company. I
- 16:43Speaker 3: don't know who the hell that is or where the service.
- 16:45Speaker 3: I thought, yeah, well, thanks for mentioning us, Thanks for
- 16:48Speaker 3: thanks for that. Good good good. Yeah, I don't know,
- 16:52Speaker 3: you know. I mean there's like Nielsen Ratings, and there's
- 16:55Speaker 3: what else do we use. There's a few rating services
- 16:58Speaker 3: that that we use here in radio. But I don't know.
- 17:01Speaker 3: They've never heard of the American Survey Company. You know,
- 17:03Speaker 3: people always say when you talk about surveys, nobody ever
- 17:07Speaker 3: asked me, or when you talk about a poll, I
- 17:09Speaker 3: don't know about these polls. Nobody ever pulled me. Well, uh,
- 17:14Speaker 3: that's it doesn't matter. They pulled somebody like you. If
- 17:17Speaker 3: it's a really good poll, they've got a representative sample
- 17:20Speaker 3: of everybody. And I believe it or not, I have
- 17:22Speaker 3: been contacted by poles, even rating companies. I've been uh,
- 17:27Speaker 3: you know, you have to tell them you can't do it.
- 17:30Speaker 3: You're you know so. But I've actually been contacted a
- 17:33Speaker 3: few times. Let's go to Bill in Pennsylvania. Bill, how
- 17:36Speaker 3: you doing?
- 17:38Speaker 2: Hi?
- 17:38Speaker 3: Mark?
- 17:39Speaker 2: Uh, here's the going I agree with the comedian robbers.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Foster Brooks of Pennsylvania.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Go ahead, yeah, you know, I agree with Rob Schneider
- 17:49Speaker 7: about the Nineteenth Amendment.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I mean, I think we should allow women to vote,
- 17:54Speaker 2: just not unimportant.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Well that's very open of you. So you think we
- 17:57Speaker 3: should allow women to vote. That would not be too controversy.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You no, just not an important thing.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Oh just not an important talk, all right, Phil Foster
- 18:08Speaker 3: Brooks Junior, thank you for calling. It's hard to believe
- 18:12Speaker 3: women were not allowed to vote until was it somewhere
- 18:14Speaker 3: in the twenties? Can imagine that? Do you imagine that
- 18:18Speaker 3: finally it was controversial to let women vote. Let's go
- 18:22Speaker 3: to Albert in keyboard. Albert, how you doing?
- 18:26Speaker 2: What's happened? I usually call sports show? But you're raped
- 18:29Speaker 2: by the sports thing and I heard you talking anyway,
- 18:32Speaker 2: Thanks for taking my call.
- 18:33Speaker 3: What do you call the sports shows about?
- 18:37Speaker 2: You know, the different guys who play and stuff that
- 18:40Speaker 2: you know, you know, just talk about sports stuff. I mean,
- 18:43Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying.
- 18:45Speaker 3: It's hard to listen to that sports radio. It's just
- 18:48Speaker 3: a bunch of some of.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Them, some of the ones that are on right now
- 18:51Speaker 2: in the morning. I can't stand them, you know what
- 18:54Speaker 2: I mean.
- 18:54Speaker 3: But the whole thing I used to listen to Mike Francessa.
- 18:57Speaker 3: He was good. He seemed to know all kinds of
- 18:59Speaker 3: inside stuff that nobody else knew, so that was interesting.
- 19:02Speaker 3: But outside of that, these sports shows are like it's
- 19:04Speaker 3: a bunch of guys in a bar arguing about their opinions.
- 19:08Speaker 2: The one is the on the ones they got going out.
- 19:10Speaker 2: They just switched the one thing. They switched their whole routine,
- 19:12Speaker 2: and they messed up the whole thing. They got to
- 19:15Speaker 2: take us some really ignorant people there. It's just I
- 19:18Speaker 2: want to say something about the gutria. Thank you for
- 19:22Speaker 2: taking a call. It's not a calaistic What I often
- 19:25Speaker 2: wondered is why didn't she had twenty four hour guards
- 19:29Speaker 2: on that premises with her mother here being that.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Old, because would think to have it. That's the house
- 19:36Speaker 3: she grew up in, lived there all her life. There's
- 19:37Speaker 3: absolutely no crime in that neighborhood, no crime at all.
- 19:41Speaker 2: They know who she was. Somebody knew who you know.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Evidently they knew who she was and where she was.
- 19:46Speaker 2: It's just she's eighty. It wasn't like she was fifty
- 19:49Speaker 2: or something. She was eighty four with a pacemaker. I'm
- 19:52Speaker 2: not putting anything on my own.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I know it would be highly unusual. The biggest celebrities
- 19:56Speaker 3: in the world don't have guards on their mother's house.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It's just not something that they ought it some the
- 20:00Speaker 2: way it is going now, it's the world's so crazy.
- 20:03Speaker 2: It's not really that.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's interesting. You bring up a good point.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Well thanks for calling. Yeah that maybe now some celebrities
- 20:11Speaker 3: her mother living alone somewhere, now they're hiring guards. It's
- 20:15Speaker 3: just you know, now, did you see this Howard Stern lawsuit?
- 20:18Speaker 3: Howard Stern had a personal assistant. He's got a few
- 20:21Speaker 3: of them, but this one was basically working in his
- 20:23Speaker 3: Southampton house, managing that house. She's now suing him. I
- 20:29Speaker 3: can't see what she's suing him over. She can't seem
- 20:33Speaker 3: to explain what it is. She claims a hostile work environment,
- 20:36Speaker 3: but she hasn't explained what was so hostile. She was
- 20:39Speaker 3: getting two hundred and sixty five thousand a year to
- 20:42Speaker 3: be the personal assistant. That doesn't seem that hostile, she said.
- 20:48Speaker 3: She was forced to sign a non disclosure agreement, and
- 20:52Speaker 3: in the non disclosure she was not allowed to reveal
- 20:54Speaker 3: anything about what goes on in the household. She was
- 20:57Speaker 3: not allowed to reveal what they eat, what can um
- 21:00Speaker 3: products they use, what their travel arrangements are, where they stay,
- 21:04Speaker 3: locations of their residents. Well, that makes sense. I can
- 21:08Speaker 3: understand not wanting somebody to reveal that. So, so far,
- 21:12Speaker 3: I still can't figure out what the lawsuit is over.
- 21:14Speaker 3: She was not allowed to reveal private conversations they were
- 21:17Speaker 3: having their political stuff. Well, it makes sense. I would
- 21:21Speaker 3: think anybody with a celebrity would make somebody sign that.
- 21:25Speaker 3: So we still can't figure out what this lawsuit is over.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Let's go to Joe in Elmwood Park. Joe, how you doing.
- 21:31Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Fence.
- 21:32Speaker 9: How come nobody talks about the base that we lost?
- 21:35Speaker 8: Would in the the.
- 21:38Speaker 9: Iranian mission be easier if we had that base?
- 21:41Speaker 3: What base?
- 21:43Speaker 5: The base in Afrighanistan that the other two gave away?
- 21:48Speaker 3: I don't know that we'd need that base now. We
- 21:50Speaker 3: don't need it for any reason. We can do the
- 21:52Speaker 3: whole thing from here, believe it or not. The bombing
- 21:54Speaker 3: of the nuclear reactor was all done from Florida. We
- 21:56Speaker 3: don't need that base. Okay, Well, thanks for calling the
- 21:59Speaker 3: problem he's talking about. When Biden pulled out of Afghanistan
- 22:04Speaker 3: the most embarrassing bungled up military situation in US history,
- 22:08Speaker 3: he left billions of dollars worth of equipment lying there,
- 22:11Speaker 3: all sorts of advanced, sophisticated weaponry, just left it there
- 22:16Speaker 3: and it fell into the hands of our enemies Afghanistan
- 22:19Speaker 3: and terrorist ISIS got a hold of it. The problem
- 22:22Speaker 3: with that base is China. And that's the problem. That base,
- 22:27Speaker 3: believe it or not, was very very close to China,
- 22:29Speaker 3: closer to China than any other base we've got. That's
- 22:32Speaker 3: one reason we should have kept it. It was about Bagram
- 22:35Speaker 3: Air Base. But China has probably taken it over it
- 22:38Speaker 3: they're now using it. And all those weapons that were
- 22:41Speaker 3: left on the ground and fell into the hands of
- 22:44Speaker 3: ISIS that probably somewhere in Iran and are being used
- 22:48Speaker 3: against us as we speak, thanks to Joe Biden. And
- 22:52Speaker 3: the other thing is you'll hear all these people, these
- 22:54Speaker 3: pannicins who are all upset about the raniing. We're saying,
- 22:57Speaker 3: look what it's done to the stock Market's crushed the
- 22:59Speaker 3: stock moy and crush the stock market. It is down
- 23:02Speaker 3: about five percent. It'll remember we went through this with
- 23:05Speaker 3: the tariffs, where the stock market came down ten percent,
- 23:08Speaker 3: fifteen percent. Well, it which once that was settled, it's
- 23:11Speaker 3: sort to all time new highs, set new records. It'll
- 23:14Speaker 3: do that here. But also even at this moment, with
- 23:16Speaker 3: it down, it's still way above where it was under
- 23:20Speaker 3: Joe Biden. Ever since the President Trump took office, it's up.
- 23:24Speaker 3: It's way up. So hey, when we come back to
- 23:27Speaker 3: brilliant columnist Liz Peak, we'll talk to her next on
- 23:30Speaker 3: seven to ten. W O R.
- 23:32Speaker 10: Mark Simone Show continues, w.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Well, brilliant columnist Liz Peak. Now you can read her
- 23:42Speaker 3: at foxnews dot com The Hill, but also she puts
- 23:46Speaker 3: out a great daily briefing, great news and analysis. You
- 23:49Speaker 3: just go to lizpeak dot com. Make sure you sign up.
- 23:52Speaker 3: It'll come. It's free, it'll come. Write to your email
- 23:54Speaker 3: every day. Lizpeak dot com. Lizpeak, How you doing.
- 23:59Speaker 6: I'm very well. How are you?
- 24:01Speaker 3: I'm good. How do you think we'll be at eight
- 24:04Speaker 3: pm tonight? Well?
- 24:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean the whole world wonders the same, you know,
- 24:12Speaker 6: I'm torn. I mean, I spend some time this morning
- 24:16Speaker 6: thinking that all of this was a great distraction after
- 24:19Speaker 6: learning that we bombed various sites on the krak Island
- 24:25Speaker 6: last night, thinking that this whole build up of attacking
- 24:29Speaker 6: bridges and power stations was kind of a distraction from
- 24:33Speaker 6: what we're really going to do, which is going to
- 24:34Speaker 6: do something about taking control of carg Island, which you know,
- 24:38Speaker 6: Mark is a real different step here because it would
- 24:42Speaker 6: engage boots in the ground. It would be a very
- 24:45Speaker 6: different kind of war effort than we have engaged in
- 24:49Speaker 6: right now, so or up till now. So I don't know.
- 24:52Speaker 6: I mean, I think Trump doesn't want to have a
- 24:57Speaker 6: further escalation of this conflict. I think he really wants
- 25:00Speaker 6: to have a deal. It's really difficult because right now,
- 25:03Speaker 6: I think he was completely serious yesterday and the press
- 25:07Speaker 6: conference talking about how, you know, it's very hard to
- 25:11Speaker 6: communicate with the people we don't even know really who's
- 25:14Speaker 6: leading the conversation. He implied that there was someone on
- 25:19Speaker 6: the other side who was ready to do a deal,
- 25:21Speaker 6: but who is that we don't know. And you know,
- 25:24Speaker 6: my gos said, the cast who characters changes practically every day.
- 25:27Speaker 6: So I think the betting and the markets today started
- 25:33Speaker 6: out like, you know, we'll get a deal, and then
- 25:36Speaker 6: Iran was so clearly rebuffing US overtures and US proposals
- 25:42Speaker 6: that now the market's kind of down because you know,
- 25:45Speaker 6: there's a chance that he follows through and we bomb
- 25:50Speaker 6: a lot of infrastructure in Iran. And I think you know,
- 25:54Speaker 6: I think the world doesn't want to see that happen. Frankly,
- 25:57Speaker 6: I think they want a deal. We should have a deal.
- 25:59Speaker 6: Incredible to me that this terror regime in Iran can
- 26:06Speaker 6: hold the entire world hostage by closing the Strait of Hormuz,
- 26:10Speaker 6: and that most of our allies are unwilling to help
- 26:13Speaker 6: us do anything about it. The whole thing is kind
- 26:15Speaker 6: of crazy.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Well, some people think Donald Trump has for the last
- 26:19Speaker 3: few days been trying the mad men theory. You know
- 26:22Speaker 3: that Nixon used to act like you're crazy and it'll
- 26:24Speaker 3: scare the enemy. By these people in Iran, whoever is
- 26:26Speaker 3: running it, this little group, you got to admit they
- 26:30Speaker 3: are the most resilient resistant. What do you think would
- 26:33Speaker 3: ever get through to them? Would they ever surrender under
- 26:36Speaker 3: any circumstance?
- 26:37Speaker 6: Well, that's the question, right. I think the problem is
- 26:41Speaker 6: they want to hold onto power, and they know there
- 26:44Speaker 6: is no kind of truth or ceasefire agreement end of
- 26:50Speaker 6: the war that's going to allow that. I mean, I
- 26:53Speaker 6: think that you know, best case, they kind of go
- 26:57Speaker 6: down fighting and that the United States gets tired of
- 26:59Speaker 6: the pushback and so forth we walk away. It would
- 27:04Speaker 6: be absolutely a catastrophe if we don't finish this thing,
- 27:08Speaker 6: and by finish it, I mean making sure there is
- 27:11Speaker 6: no capacity in Iran for making a nuclear weapon. Secondly,
- 27:16Speaker 6: that we really destroy their production of missiles. I mean,
- 27:20Speaker 6: I don't think anyone knew what the stores of ballistic
- 27:24Speaker 6: missiles looked like in Iran. And also, by the way,
- 27:26Speaker 6: people didn't know how advanced they were, how far they
- 27:29Speaker 6: could travel, et cetera. So that was kind of a
- 27:31Speaker 6: big heads up that this very aggressive hostile regime was
- 27:38Speaker 6: much better armed than anybody fogged. But to me, the
- 27:42Speaker 6: third leg of that stool is we must never we
- 27:45Speaker 6: must not allow Iran to control the strait of hormones
- 27:49Speaker 6: because it is clearly their major case in the hole.
- 27:54Speaker 6: It is the thing that they have that can threaten
- 27:58Speaker 6: the entire world, not just not just the region. It's
- 28:02Speaker 6: China after all, in Japan who are really struggling with
- 28:07Speaker 6: a cut off of oil. And how can we collectively,
- 28:10Speaker 6: we the developed world collectively allow this to happen. It's unconscionable.
- 28:14Speaker 6: So something has to happen to Krk Island or two
- 28:19Speaker 6: munitions capabilities of Iran, something that prevents this strait from
- 28:27Speaker 6: again being a choke hold on the world's economy just
- 28:30Speaker 6: can't happen.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I would think somewhere in the Pentagon they've got
- 28:34Speaker 3: plenty of battle plans and how to reopen the strait
- 28:36Speaker 3: when they need to. I agree, but having it closed
- 28:40Speaker 3: only hurts a Ran. That's their source of income, explorting oil.
- 28:44Speaker 6: Well right now though, it's really hurting pretty much everybody
- 28:47Speaker 6: around the world. I mean, the United States is in
- 28:48Speaker 6: a pretty good position. We are not looking at long
- 28:51Speaker 6: gas lines and shortages, but that's happening elsewhere. And you know,
- 28:57Speaker 6: I mean, I I do look at these NATO countries
- 29:00Speaker 6: that are supposed to be our allies, for whom we
- 29:04Speaker 6: are engaged in Ukraine after all, and for whom we
- 29:09Speaker 6: have been footing the global military readiness budget for decades,
- 29:16Speaker 6: and the fact that they won't allow us to fly
- 29:18Speaker 6: use flyover space in their countries, they will let us
- 29:22Speaker 6: use their bases, et cetera. I think it is absolutely appalling.
- 29:25Speaker 6: And I think there's a good part of the United
- 29:28Speaker 6: States right now they're saying, why are we so wedded
- 29:32Speaker 6: to this alliance which right now really doesn't look like
- 29:35Speaker 6: much of an alliance.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Hey, let's peak, let's just change the subject for
- 29:40Speaker 3: a minute to get to New York City, crazy Mayor
- 29:42Speaker 3: Momgani and his tax everybody tax the rich. Now you've
- 29:46Speaker 3: got actually Jamie Diamond, who usually tries to stay out
- 29:48Speaker 3: of the line of fire, now standing up to him, saying,
- 29:51Speaker 3: we'll leave. Everybody else will leave, businesses will pull out. Yeah, well,
- 29:54Speaker 3: what do.
- 29:54Speaker 10: You think you know?
- 29:56Speaker 6: Mark, I just think these are ideologues. There's no shortage
- 30:01Speaker 6: of people willing to tell Mayor mom Danny that he's
- 30:05Speaker 6: on the wrong track. There's no shortage of data showing
- 30:09Speaker 6: that people are leaving New York because of high taxes
- 30:13Speaker 6: and because spending is out of control, which is driving
- 30:16Speaker 6: those high taxes. It's clearly happening. Babe Diamond, after all,
- 30:21Speaker 6: last year told everybody that he had more bankers in
- 30:24Speaker 6: Texas now than he does in New York. If the
- 30:27Speaker 6: financial and we've already seen the financial community bleed, participants
- 30:33Speaker 6: bleed country, bad companies and assets under management, and so
- 30:37Speaker 6: forth to Florida and Texas, some to other states that
- 30:42Speaker 6: are also low tax This is a death spiral. You
- 30:46Speaker 6: can't continue this without eventually really running this city into
- 30:50Speaker 6: the ground. And I say this city because this is
- 30:53Speaker 6: still my home. I mean, I you know, this is
- 30:55Speaker 6: where I do businesses, where I live, and I I
- 31:00Speaker 6: think it's just an appalling blindness on the part of
- 31:05Speaker 6: Mamdani and his colleagues. They really are socialists. I mean,
- 31:09Speaker 6: I think Jamie last year called them Marxists. I think
- 31:12Speaker 6: they are, I mean, and as idiologues. They don't really
- 31:16Speaker 6: care about the future. They don't really care about what
- 31:20Speaker 6: it's going to look like ten or fifteen years from now.
- 31:23Speaker 6: They just want to punish the rich, punish the people
- 31:27Speaker 6: who make the trains run in New York City, and
- 31:31Speaker 6: by the way, fund all the programs that they're so
- 31:33Speaker 6: excited about. I don't know that anything will get them
- 31:36Speaker 6: off that dime. It's interesting when you look at California
- 31:39Speaker 6: right now, you know there are sort of little bit
- 31:42Speaker 6: of green shoots. I mean, San Francisco isn't perfect, but
- 31:45Speaker 6: they change the laws that were destroying that city because
- 31:49Speaker 6: finally the people in charge said, you know what, and
- 31:53Speaker 6: the citizens said, this isn't working. They've got to change something.
- 31:56Speaker 6: The quality of life stinks and the city is going downhill.
- 32:00Speaker 6: In Los Angeles, we had on Maria Barbaromo show this
- 32:03Speaker 6: morning a guy who's running for mayor out there, and
- 32:06Speaker 6: he's not doing badly, considering it is such an overwhelming
- 32:09Speaker 6: as a Republican an overwhelmingly Democrat city. I think people
- 32:14Speaker 6: are beginning to think that they've made some bad choices.
- 32:18Speaker 6: And the other thing on the news today is the
- 32:21Speaker 6: new governor of Virginia, spam Berger, whose approval ratings are
- 32:25Speaker 6: the worst for any Virginia governor in decades. Well, you know,
- 32:31Speaker 6: she came in, she ran as a lot or. She
- 32:33Speaker 6: came in. Now she wants to do this very aggressive
- 32:36Speaker 6: redistrict thing, which Virginians don't like. Most people don't like.
- 32:40Speaker 6: She's raising taxes. You know, it would be really nice
- 32:43Speaker 6: to see a little bit of pushback to all the
- 32:45Speaker 6: craziness because for an awful lot of us, we look
- 32:48Speaker 6: at everything that mom Johnny does and putting the people
- 32:51Speaker 6: he's put into positions of importance, and just say, what
- 32:55Speaker 6: is he doing? It makes no sense. He's alienating people
- 32:59Speaker 6: left and right. But again I don't know that he cares.
- 33:03Speaker 6: He's very smug, very arrogant. He thinks he's right.
- 33:06Speaker 3: What did George Will said? George Will said something like
- 33:08Speaker 3: we have to do this every twenty years with one
- 33:10Speaker 3: of these crazy socialists do these experiments to show the
- 33:13Speaker 3: younger people how bad it is, so they learn the
- 33:15Speaker 3: lesson and then we don't have to get through it again.
- 33:19Speaker 6: You know. Charlie Gasprino said something like that months and
- 33:22Speaker 6: months ago when the election was still going on. He said,
- 33:25Speaker 6: just let it burn down, you know, they'll have to
- 33:27Speaker 6: figure it out. And I was like, what a horrible
- 33:30Speaker 6: thing to say. But you know what, maybe he's right.
- 33:32Speaker 6: Maybe maybe young people have to realize that you can't
- 33:36Speaker 6: you can't kill the golden goose, and that's what they
- 33:40Speaker 6: want to do. It really is the oldest story on record.
- 33:44Speaker 6: But if you, for example, institute wealth taxes, even in
- 33:49Speaker 6: very blue states out West, they institute a wealth tax
- 33:53Speaker 6: in Washington State. They propose it in California, and guess what,
- 33:57Speaker 6: people run away. I mean, they don't have to stay there.
- 34:01Speaker 6: And if you're successful, if you've built a great business,
- 34:05Speaker 6: who are they to say that they deserve a piece
- 34:08Speaker 6: of it? They are not. Now, I got to tell you, Mark,
- 34:11Speaker 6: my nightmare, My nightmare and your nightmare should be that
- 34:13Speaker 6: they're going to have an exit tax on these various
- 34:16Speaker 6: states like Illinois, New Jersey, California, New York that are
- 34:20Speaker 6: losing so many people. I don't think that's constitutional, but
- 34:23Speaker 6: I have no idea, and I know there's going to
- 34:25Speaker 6: be talk about it because there's just too many people
- 34:27Speaker 6: walking out the door.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, they've talked about that exit text. Good luck trying
- 34:31Speaker 3: to enforce that.
- 34:32Speaker 5: I don't know, I hope.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, great stuff, Liz Peak. And I love your

- 35:11Speaker 3: Colbert and we'll get to the World Cup. It's gonna
- 35:14Speaker 3: be you know, everybody's excited FIFA here in New York. Wow,
- 35:19Speaker 3: it's going to be doing a lot of damage while
- 35:20Speaker 3: it's here. We'll get to that coming up, and a
- 35:23Speaker 3: whole lot more. Don't forget. It's Buck and Clay at
- 35:25Speaker 3: noon today. They do a great show every day noon
- 35:28Speaker 3: to three. Then you got the most listened to radio
- 35:30Speaker 3: show in America, Sean Hannity at three, got Jesse Kelly
- 35:35Speaker 3: at six, and every night Jimmy Falo it's a really
- 35:39Speaker 3: funny show. Was listening to it last night, Jimmy Fayla
- 35:42Speaker 3: every night nine to midnight on seven to ten.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Wo r Mister New York Mark Simone seven war.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Well, hey, it looks nice out of it's cold. It's
- 35:55Speaker 3: that's like yesterday's in the fifties today. But but it's
- 35:59Speaker 3: gonna get warmer by the weekend. The week it'll be
- 36:01Speaker 3: nice and warm. That's the good news. New York Times
- 36:03Speaker 3: looking sillier and sillier. Yesterday's press conference, the President telling
- 36:09Speaker 3: off the New York Times reporter, just talking about how
- 36:12Speaker 3: they're living on their past reputation. They, as he said,
- 36:16Speaker 3: they used to be the paper of record. They used
- 36:18Speaker 3: to be all the news that's fit to print. They
- 36:20Speaker 3: used to be the old Gray Lady or whatever they
- 36:22Speaker 3: call it, was prestigious paper. Now it's just a partisan,
- 36:26Speaker 3: crazy fake news place. And you know they cut costs there.
- 36:30Speaker 3: They do this everywhere, but they cut costs. You know,
- 36:35Speaker 3: it's not just the New York Times. A lot of
- 36:36Speaker 3: places they don't have the same editors or fact checkers
- 36:38Speaker 3: or proofreaders or any of that. So they make a
- 36:42Speaker 3: lot of stupid mistakes. At the New York Times, here's
- 36:45Speaker 3: one over the weekend. People just couldn't believe it. NATO, NATO,
- 36:50Speaker 3: North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO. It's in the news, big thing.
- 36:54Speaker 3: So the Times doys a big story and the headline
- 36:56Speaker 3: says North American Treaty Organisms. Of course it's the North Atlantic,
- 37:02Speaker 3: but to put that in the headline, in those big,
- 37:05Speaker 3: huge letters at the top of the page, North American
- 37:09Speaker 3: Treaty Organization. New York Times just ridiculed online for something
- 37:14Speaker 3: so silly, so amateurish. Here's one critic wrote, how embarrassing
- 37:20Speaker 3: and sad for the New York Times. Now one of
- 37:22Speaker 3: the reasons for that. In the good old days, you had,
- 37:25Speaker 3: as I say, proofreaders, fact checkers, and these were older people.
- 37:28Speaker 3: They've been there at their times thirty forty years. They
- 37:30Speaker 3: had bow ties and glasses, and well, now anybody First
- 37:35Speaker 3: of all, they got rid of most of those people.
- 37:36Speaker 3: The few that they have, they're all like twenty somethings.
- 37:38Speaker 3: They're getting three hundred dollars a week. They've got no experience,
- 37:42Speaker 3: don't know much of anything. So that's how it happens.
- 37:45Speaker 3: But President Trump certainly right to complain about them. Hey,
- 37:48Speaker 3: coming up to the next hour, Hey, we'll get back
- 37:50Speaker 3: to Stephen Colbert and what this all means, and we'll
- 37:54Speaker 3: get to maybe the future of what late night should
- 37:57Speaker 3: be right now it'll be game shows and that kind
- 37:59Speaker 3: of stuff. What should they do after that? And we'll
- 38:02Speaker 3: get to the eight o'clock deadline tonight and a whole
- 38:05Speaker 3: lot more. Bill O'Reilly will be with us in the
- 38:07Speaker 3: next hour. Mark Simone here every day ten to noon
- 38:11Speaker 3: or if you can't listen live, tend and you just
- 38:14Speaker 3: get the podcast that way, you can listen to the
- 38:15Speaker 3: show anytime you want, day or night. You can find
- 38:18Speaker 3: it any place you get your podcasts. So we'll be
- 38:20Speaker 3: back right after the news with another hour to go
- 38:23Speaker 3: on seven to ten. W Let's get.
- 38:26Speaker 10: Back to the Mark Simone Show on wor.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Well. Hey, we go a lot to get to today.
- 38:35Speaker 3: We're talking about Colbert before, and I'm starting to think,
- 38:41Speaker 3: you know, they're getting rid of it. May twenty first,
- 38:43Speaker 3: it's gone. It will be placed by a nice, normal
- 38:46Speaker 3: comedy show and no political jokes, and a game show
- 38:49Speaker 3: will replace Colbert. But maybe we need Colbert. You know why,
- 38:57Speaker 3: these people with the Trump derangement syndrome, they're just raging maniacs.
- 39:01Speaker 3: They're just filled with rage, and maybe we need that.
- 39:06Speaker 3: It's like some kind of a therapy session for him,
- 39:08Speaker 3: let their rage out for an hour every night watching Coldbert.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Maybe it's like a anger management something. Maybe it helps.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I don't know. You know, if you watch the President's
- 39:18Speaker 3: briefing yesterday where he went through in detail the amazing
- 39:24Speaker 3: rescue operation, it was so moving and powerful. The way
- 39:29Speaker 3: they rescued this guy, a hundred of our best commandos,
- 39:33Speaker 3: Navy seals rangers scaling the seven thousand foot cliff mountain
- 39:40Speaker 3: to get to this guy and pull him out of
- 39:41Speaker 3: the kit and bring him to say it was an
- 39:43Speaker 3: incredible I mean, you could have tears in your eyes
- 39:45Speaker 3: and listening to this. Every time they talk to any
- 39:48Speaker 3: left wing people, they just say they got so angry
- 39:52Speaker 3: watching it that they couldn't stand it. And why did
- 39:55Speaker 3: Trump go on so much? If it was they thought
- 39:56Speaker 3: it'd be ten minutes, and he's talking for a half hour.
- 40:00Speaker 3: We're getting madder and madder. One of them telling me
- 40:02Speaker 3: they had to start drinking just to get there. And
- 40:03Speaker 3: then he talked for an hour, and then he talked
- 40:06Speaker 3: for an hour and a half. Then it went to hours.
- 40:08Speaker 3: They said they were in such a rage they couldn't
- 40:10Speaker 3: think straight for the rest of it. How could you
- 40:12Speaker 3: get mad watching that? Well, I guess the other things
- 40:16Speaker 3: where he was talking about the eight pm deadline and
- 40:19Speaker 3: all of that. So for your left wing friends, if
- 40:22Speaker 3: tonight's the deadline, eight o'clock tonight, where we could start
- 40:26Speaker 3: blowing up bridges, power plants, all of that, So your
- 40:29Speaker 3: left wing friends will go completely completely nuts. President Trump
- 40:34Speaker 3: talked about that yesterday.
- 40:35Speaker 4: We have a plan, because of the power of our military,
- 40:39Speaker 4: where every bridge in Iran will be decimated by twelve
- 40:45Speaker 4: o'clock tomorrow night, where every power plant in Iran will
- 40:50Speaker 4: be out of business, burning, exploding, and never to be
- 40:54Speaker 4: used again.
- 40:55Speaker 10: I mean complete demolition.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Okay, Now on MSNBS and all that, starting at nine
- 41:01Speaker 3: o'clock tonight, they'll be yelling and screaming war crimes. Morning, Joe.
- 41:04Speaker 3: They'll be yelling war crimes again. There's not a war crimes. No,
- 41:09Speaker 3: there's no definition of war crime that would apply to this. Nothing.
- 41:12Speaker 3: It's done in every war. It's very common, blowing up bridges,
- 41:16Speaker 3: power plants. You could see it in a thousand wars.
- 41:19Speaker 3: But they'll yell at they we're all told to yell this.
- 41:21Speaker 3: We last Bill O'Riley about this. He's very good at
- 41:23Speaker 3: explaining this stuff. There's a group that decides the language,
- 41:28Speaker 3: and then it's passed around to every demograt what words
- 41:32Speaker 3: to use, what language. We'll get to this later in
- 41:34Speaker 3: the hour. But there's more Trump.
- 41:35Speaker 4: They want us to keep bombing, even if it jeopard does,
- 41:38Speaker 4: because their life is in much greater danger. They want
- 41:41Speaker 4: freedom for Iran, but it's very hard for them to protest.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I actually tell him, I said, don't go out.
- 41:46Speaker 3: I fully understand. Yeah, So the ultimatum we're giving.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Them till tomorrow eight o'clock Eastern time, and after that
- 41:54Speaker 4: they're gonna have no bridges, they're gonna have no power plants,
- 42:00Speaker 4: stone ages.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, it sounds crazy, but every time he
- 42:06Speaker 3: sounds crazy. Somehow six months later, it turns out he
- 42:09Speaker 3: was right. As crazy as it sounds, it turns out
- 42:12Speaker 3: he was right.
- 42:13Speaker 11: Now.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Nixon did this too. He used what they called the
- 42:15Speaker 3: mad madman theory. You act like you're nuts, like you're
- 42:19Speaker 3: a complete mad man. It frightens the enemy. He did
- 42:21Speaker 3: that with the Vietnamese, and Kissinger would go over there,
- 42:24Speaker 3: you know, he's crazy, he's I don't know what he's
- 42:26Speaker 3: going to do next. He's so crazy, he's a lunatic,
- 42:29Speaker 3: and it frightens them. However, in this case, you're dealing
- 42:33Speaker 3: with real lunatics, So I don't know if it works
- 42:35Speaker 3: with another lunatic. You told these Iranians it's not the Ietola.
- 42:42Speaker 3: It's like you were like three levels down now to
- 42:46Speaker 3: even crazier people. So they're so nuts. I don't know
- 42:49Speaker 3: if the mad men theory works on them, but we'll see.
- 42:52Speaker 3: And again, I've been going through this for decades with
- 42:54Speaker 3: Donald Trump. If you think he's crazy and what he's
- 42:57Speaker 3: proposing or saying or doing is absolutely nuts, you know what,
- 43:02Speaker 3: somehow six months later he was right. He pulled it off.
- 43:05Speaker 3: And guys like this, you see, we're used to professional politicians,
- 43:08Speaker 3: not entrepreneur billionaires running to see the way a big entrepreneur,
- 43:13Speaker 3: billionaire who built empires. This is what they do. They
- 43:16Speaker 3: go way out on a limb. They will take risks.
- 43:19Speaker 3: You know, that's how you make fortunes, that's how you
- 43:21Speaker 3: build empires. You got to be absolutely fearless. You got
- 43:25Speaker 3: to walk out to the very very very end of
- 43:27Speaker 3: the limb. When you hear it cracking and everything, you
- 43:29Speaker 3: still stand there. That's that's what those guys have that
- 43:33Speaker 3: we don't have. They can take these incredible, incredible risks.
- 43:37Speaker 3: So let's see tonight. Now, what will Colbert do because
- 43:42Speaker 3: he takes the show early, like five point thirty, so
- 43:45Speaker 3: he'll have to talk about it, but he won't know
- 43:47Speaker 3: if the bombing took place at eight o'clock. He said,
- 43:50Speaker 3: I'm speaking to Colbert. So they're going to replace it
- 43:52Speaker 3: with a comedy show produced by Byron Allen. But that's
- 43:55Speaker 3: still pretty expensive. You know, it's a comedy show comedian,
- 43:58Speaker 3: so you need an audience, you need all that stuff.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Then they're going to do a game show. It'll be
- 44:02Speaker 3: cheaper than Colbert, but it's still expensive. You know. The
- 44:06Speaker 3: big trend now is have you seen Sean Hannity's new
- 44:09Speaker 3: show it's called Hangout, and it's in what looks like
- 44:13Speaker 3: his man cave or his basement or something, and it's
- 44:16Speaker 3: got a pool table, it's got a dartboard, wood paneled,
- 44:20Speaker 3: and it's just him and somebody, a big name guest
- 44:23Speaker 3: who they just sit there and they talk for an
- 44:25Speaker 3: hour and a half. And it all goes back to
- 44:27Speaker 3: Bill Maher who started this with Club Random, and it
- 44:31Speaker 3: looked pretty weird at the time. Bill Maher, who had
- 44:34Speaker 3: a big, big, you know, nighttime show on big audience,
- 44:38Speaker 3: studio audience. They did it at CBS Television City with
- 44:41Speaker 3: a big, big studio, big audience, and then he started
- 44:45Speaker 3: doing this Club Random where he built like a room
- 44:48Speaker 3: in his basement with the wood paneling and the bar
- 44:51Speaker 3: and dart board, and he just would sit there with somebody,
- 44:54Speaker 3: would just talk for an hour and a half. And
- 44:56Speaker 3: I got to admit, it's pretty interesting. I watch it
- 44:58Speaker 3: a lot. The Woody Allen Won, the Billy Joel, there's
- 45:02Speaker 3: a lot of them. They're really interesting. Club Random, Bill
- 45:05Speaker 3: Marsh start watching you love it. So everybody started doing
- 45:08Speaker 3: a lot of the podcasts switched to that kind of look,
- 45:11Speaker 3: and Hannity's doing now it's pretty successful hang out with
- 45:13Speaker 3: Sean Hannity, But I'm starting to think this might be
- 45:16Speaker 3: what they'll do in late night eventually, because this can't
- 45:18Speaker 3: cost much to do this. You build this little set
- 45:21Speaker 3: that looks like a basement, you got one guest, you
- 45:24Speaker 3: don't need a studio audience, you don't even need a
- 45:27Speaker 3: dressing room, and there's nothing to dress. I mean, everybody
- 45:29Speaker 3: comes looking like a slob. It's great, it's very casual.
- 45:35Speaker 3: This could be the future of you know, that's the
- 45:36Speaker 3: problem with the network television. They don't have any viewers anymore.
- 45:40Speaker 3: There's not the revenue coming in, so eventually you could
- 45:42Speaker 3: try this on late night. The only thing is this
- 45:45Speaker 3: is done always on YouTube or as a podcast, and
- 45:48Speaker 3: the idea of that is you can watch it whenever
- 45:50Speaker 3: you want. You can stop it and start it. Can't
- 45:52Speaker 3: do that on a network TV. I can't tell you
- 45:55Speaker 3: how many times I'm watching a network TV show and
- 45:59Speaker 3: something happens and I want to stop it, and I
- 46:01Speaker 3: go to hit the pause and I realize I can't.
- 46:03Speaker 3: It's live. I'm not used to anything live anymore. So
- 46:06Speaker 3: that's the problem with doing that. But we'll see so
- 46:08Speaker 3: and then we'll see do we need Colbert? Do we
- 46:10Speaker 3: need Mourning Joe? Do we need Rachel Maadow? Is it
- 46:12Speaker 3: anger management therapy for these people? Maybe we do? Who knows?
- 46:17Speaker 3: And when will this end all this craziness. Well, we've
- 46:21Speaker 3: had it before where the Democrats go so far to
- 46:24Speaker 3: the left and so crazy and so and then somebody
- 46:27Speaker 3: comes along like a Bill Clinton. This happened way back then,
- 46:31Speaker 3: and Bill Clinton led them back to the center, back
- 46:34Speaker 3: to the middle where they were able to win again.
- 46:36Speaker 3: Now you know, Ram Emmanuel worked for Bill Clinton, and
- 46:40Speaker 3: in this sea of crazy Democrats, now looks like he's
- 46:44Speaker 3: trying to pull a Bill Clinton. He's now talking about
- 46:47Speaker 3: this kind of stuff. He's now actually saying out loud.
- 46:51Speaker 3: He said, Democrats have lost the plot. They're too far
- 46:55Speaker 3: to the left. They've gone crazy. They've proposed crazy things
- 46:59Speaker 3: like an X, defunding the police, calling everybody a racist,
- 47:04Speaker 3: crazy cultural wars. He said, we're on the losing side
- 47:08Speaker 3: of these cultural wars. Got to stop. So you see
- 47:12Speaker 3: him pointing back to the center, saying we have to
- 47:15Speaker 3: get back there. You see Gavin Newsom doing it sometimes.
- 47:19Speaker 3: But Emmanuel went on and on. Democrats are worried about
- 47:22Speaker 3: who comes into your bathroom and locker room, when the
- 47:25Speaker 3: real problem is fifty percent of our kids are not
- 47:28Speaker 3: at the right grade level, reading at grade level anymore.
- 47:31Speaker 3: We're not teaching them anything. Manuel says, you got it.
- 47:37Speaker 3: The Democrats have to get back to the middle. They're
- 47:39Speaker 3: totally disconnected now from the middle class and their values.
- 47:43Speaker 3: So this is interesting. He thinks, that's I don't know
- 47:46Speaker 3: if he's going to ever win. I mean, he's kind
- 47:48Speaker 3: of a creepy guy, but he's a very very smart
- 47:51Speaker 3: political strategist. So he's pointing to the center saying you
- 47:54Speaker 3: got to get back there. And he also points out
- 47:57Speaker 3: the left has now become the party of what radical elites,
- 48:02Speaker 3: you know, Ivy league elites, no longer the middle class,
- 48:05Speaker 3: no longer any of that. And he points out when
- 48:07Speaker 3: Clinton ran in ninety two, Carville uttered the famous phrase
- 48:12Speaker 3: it's the economy stupid, which is really what it is.
- 48:15Speaker 3: It's not about men and women's bathrooms and all that stuff.
- 48:18Speaker 3: So thirty years later, history might repeat itself with Ram Emmanuel, Hey,
- 48:25Speaker 3: you know, people yelling about the stock market, it's really
- 48:29Speaker 3: it's come down a little because of the war. That's normal,
- 48:32Speaker 3: as we called it. John Carney called it on the show.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Stock market is basically an overreaction machine. If you go
- 48:39Speaker 3: to war and there's bombing and all that, it's going
- 48:42Speaker 3: to drop. But it's still up for the year. I
- 48:45Speaker 3: think we began the year at forty thousand. We're at
- 48:47Speaker 3: forty seven thousand. Once this is all over, we'll probably
- 48:51Speaker 3: we went to fifty before, we'll probably go to fifty
- 48:53Speaker 3: two fifty three, we'll probably get to sixty thousand. So
- 48:56Speaker 3: you're going to see the greatest stock market ever. The
- 48:58Speaker 3: economy is very strong in the middle of all this
- 49:00Speaker 3: chaos and war and all that. We just had the
- 49:03Speaker 3: best jobs report we've seen in years, one hundred and
- 49:06Speaker 3: seventy eight thousand new jobs created. That's way beyond what
- 49:10Speaker 3: was expected, way beyond. So that looks pretty good. Now,
- 49:14Speaker 3: you know these left wing heroes. Whoever hates the president
- 49:18Speaker 3: the most becomes a left wing hero. And you had
- 49:20Speaker 3: that guy Joe Kent who was in the intelligence department
- 49:25Speaker 3: in the government. He quit quit because of the war
- 49:29Speaker 3: in Iran, and he stood up the President Trump and
- 49:31Speaker 3: he became a left wing hero. He was suddenly on
- 49:34Speaker 3: every talk show, CNN, MS Now and all that stuff. Well,
- 49:39Speaker 3: everybody said he's a bad guy, but you know, nobody
- 49:42Speaker 3: would listen to him. But he's turned out to be
- 49:45Speaker 3: a very bad guy. He's promoting in the last week
- 49:49Speaker 3: all kinds of crazy Iranian propaganda. In fact, just over
- 49:54Speaker 3: the weekend, as the airman was lost and we were
- 49:57Speaker 3: hunting for him, Kent put out all this stuff, posting
- 50:01Speaker 3: and tweeting all this stuff about how Trump was planning
- 50:04Speaker 3: to kill our own pilot, our own airmen. We were
- 50:08Speaker 3: going to blow them up so that they couldn't fall
- 50:10Speaker 3: into the hands of the Iranians. All we were worried
- 50:13Speaker 3: about is Iran parading them around, torturing them, getting information
- 50:17Speaker 3: out of him. So we decided to kill him and
- 50:20Speaker 3: we were going to bomb him. Kent posting all this
- 50:22Speaker 3: crazy nonsense even Monday, he was on with Jake Tapper.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Even Jake Tapper told him off for spreading Iranian propaganda.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Absolutely ridiculous that he would even try to push some
- 50:35Speaker 3: of that. He called Kent's post absolute nonsense. And of
- 50:39Speaker 3: course we did rescue the guy and spent hundreds of
- 50:42Speaker 3: millions and risked hundreds of lives to get him back.
- 50:45Speaker 3: So as Jake, even Jake Tapper said, your theory didn't
- 50:48Speaker 3: age well, so just gives you an idea what a
- 50:50Speaker 3: bad guy Joe Kent is. Hey, remember we told you
- 50:53Speaker 3: the Presidential Library, that Donald Trump Presidential Library is going
- 50:59Speaker 3: to be in Miami, and you can go online. You
- 51:01Speaker 3: can see the pictures. It's a beautiful black, gleaming gold,
- 51:04Speaker 3: black skyscraper. It turns out it'll be the tallest building
- 51:09Speaker 3: in Miami. In the building, they'll put a replica of
- 51:12Speaker 3: his ballroom that he's building at the White House in there,
- 51:16Speaker 3: and they will put I don't know how they're going
- 51:18Speaker 3: to do this, the Boeing seven forty seven that he
- 51:21Speaker 3: used as Air Force one. It'll be out of service
- 51:24Speaker 3: by then, so it's going to be in the lobby. Now,
- 51:28Speaker 3: how do you get that there? You know how big
- 51:31Speaker 3: a Boeing seven forty seven is. How do you get
- 51:33Speaker 3: it through the streets of Miami. How do you get
- 51:35Speaker 3: it in the building? Well, they asked Eric Trump, who's
- 51:38Speaker 3: building it. He said, well, we're not sure. We may
- 51:40Speaker 3: have to build the building around it. I guess you
- 51:42Speaker 3: could get it there. But listen to these ideas. This
- 51:45Speaker 3: building normally a presidential library. They have a replica of
- 51:49Speaker 3: the Oval office, a small one and they have his
- 51:51Speaker 3: papers and stuff. This is going to be different. They're
- 51:54Speaker 3: going to build a replica of the Golden Escalator, a
- 51:57Speaker 3: Trump Tower. They're going to have the seven forty seven
- 52:00Speaker 3: in the lobby. They're gonna build a replica of the
- 52:03Speaker 3: Oval Office the way Trump has it done now with
- 52:06Speaker 3: the gold and all that stuff. And they're gonna have
- 52:08Speaker 3: a replica of the Presidential Walk of Fame, you know
- 52:11Speaker 3: where he has those portraits and the one with Joe
- 52:15Speaker 3: Biden has an auto pen. And then they're gonna build
- 52:18Speaker 3: a big gold statue of him and Butler Pennsylvania. Rememberhen
- 52:22Speaker 3: he jumped up after the bullet hit his ear. He
- 52:24Speaker 3: jumped up and pumped his fist in the air. They're
- 52:27Speaker 3: going to have a gold statue of that. Now, this
- 52:33Speaker 3: is the part that's a little unusual. It's a big skyscraper.
- 52:36Speaker 3: It's like ninety stories high. The President said that they
- 52:41Speaker 3: might make it also a hotel. It'll be a hotel
- 52:44Speaker 3: you can stay in, lots of hotel floors and florsa
- 52:47Speaker 3: hotel rooms, luxury hotel with a presidential library and the
- 52:52Speaker 3: first few floors and a seven forty seven in the lobby.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Pretty interesting idea. It's on that was donated Miami Dade
- 53:02Speaker 3: College had about three acres of land and was being
- 53:04Speaker 3: used as a parking lot, and they gave it back
- 53:07Speaker 3: to the state, and then Ron DeSantis got control of
- 53:10Speaker 3: it and he's transferred ownership to Trump's Presidential Library Foundation.
- 53:16Speaker 3: So this could be the most spectacular, unusual presidential library.
- 53:21Speaker 3: And of course it'll give the left something to yell
- 53:23Speaker 3: and scream about that it's too tacky and gaudy and
- 53:27Speaker 3: it's got a hotel and this is awful. Anyway, we'll
- 53:30Speaker 3: take some calls. Next, eight hundred three to two one
- 53:33Speaker 3: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three to
- 53:36Speaker 3: two one zero seven ten.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Set up preseat on the iHeartRadio app to WR to
- 53:42Speaker 1: hear Mark live. Set another for Mark's podcast to hear
- 53:46Speaker 1: him anytime.
- 53:48Speaker 10: Now back to Mark Simone on WR.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Charles Miller place,
- 53:57Speaker 3: a nice part of Long Island. Charles, how you doing great?
- 54:01Speaker 6: Hi?
- 54:01Speaker 11: Mark? How are you?
- 54:02Speaker 5: I just wanted to mention, before Bill Maher had that platform.
- 54:06Speaker 11: I believe it was Wayne's World with Wayne and goth
- 54:10Speaker 11: and that's kind of true.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's a good point.
- 54:14Speaker 2: I think Bill Maher may have taken it from them.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Well, I don't know where he got it from, but
- 54:19Speaker 3: you're right, you're right. That was the first time and
- 54:21Speaker 3: that was Wayne's World. What was that back in the
- 54:23Speaker 3: nineties and early two thousand, tests, before podcasts, before any
- 54:26Speaker 3: of that stuff. Yeah, it was two guys in the basement. Yeah,
- 54:28Speaker 3: remember it starting live. In those days, there were a
- 54:31Speaker 3: lot of where somebody had a show like two amateurs
- 54:34Speaker 3: talking in Wayne's World was the best of them. Let's
- 54:37Speaker 3: go to Mike and Florida.
- 54:38Speaker 11: Mike, how you doing, good morning, Mark? Yes, Mike, too bad?
- 54:43Speaker 11: Onto what the previous call I just mentioned. I was
- 54:46Speaker 11: going to say that back in the day, it was
- 54:48Speaker 11: a little bit more formal than it is now, as
- 54:50Speaker 11: casual as it is now with mar and Hannity and
- 54:53Speaker 11: now o'reiley even copied that format. It was talking.
- 54:57Speaker 3: You know what, Actually, I give a Riley credit. He
- 54:59Speaker 3: didn't copy that for him. When he does it, it
- 55:01Speaker 3: looks like a TV set and he's got a suit on.
- 55:04Speaker 3: He didn't go in for that show.
- 55:06Speaker 11: Yeah, so he'd a little more formal than the other
- 55:08Speaker 11: two guys has been doing it. But back in the day,
- 55:10Speaker 11: Tom Snyder, you know, considering you know, the time he
- 55:14Speaker 11: was doing it, that was sort of like a precurst
- 55:16Speaker 11: to this format also well, but.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Tom Snyder it was a TV studio, it was suits
- 55:21Speaker 3: and ties. But Tom Snyder was copying Mike Wallace who
- 55:24Speaker 3: had done that in the.
- 55:24Speaker 11: Fifties, and David Suskind also to a logic step.
- 55:29Speaker 3: But the originator was Mike Wallace in the fifties. Good point, Mike,
- 55:32Speaker 3: thanks for calling. And back in the nineteen fifties Mike
- 55:35Speaker 3: Wallace did it was called night Beat. It was a
- 55:37Speaker 3: local show on Channel five mid fifties, and it was
- 55:41Speaker 3: him and a guest and they both sit in chairs
- 55:43Speaker 3: facing each other, black background, no set, just a black man.
- 55:47Speaker 3: He'd grilled the guy. And Suskind did a Sunday night
- 55:51Speaker 3: show where it was it was always a panel. And
- 55:54Speaker 3: all this stuff is on YouTube, by the way, you
- 55:55Speaker 3: can go watch these old shows. Pretty interesting to look at. Now,
- 55:59Speaker 3: let's go to Don and New York City.
- 56:00Speaker 11: Don.
- 56:00Speaker 3: How you doing.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Yes, hello, Mark, you were talking yesterday about the film
- 56:05Speaker 2: High Society. Yeah, so Home was also in that.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Film, so lest Home, Sinatra Bing Crosby Grace, Kelly, Louis Armstrong,
- 56:15Speaker 3: is in the film.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Yes, yes, she shang a duet with Sinatra who wants
- 56:22Speaker 2: to be a millionaire.
- 56:23Speaker 3: There you go, what are we supposed to do with
- 56:25Speaker 3: this information?
- 56:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Oh, okay, well, no, it's good. It was a great favor.
- 56:30Speaker 3: You can go watch that film High Society. You know.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Frank Sinatra never got intimidated. He was the most confident,
- 56:37Speaker 3: courageous man in the world. Nobody intimidated him except twice
- 56:41Speaker 3: in his life. Once he was young, he was about eighteen,
- 56:45Speaker 3: he started. He was a singing waiter in New Jersey.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Was called the Rustic Cabin. It's right right where you
- 56:53Speaker 3: get off the Palisades. I think egsit won there. But
- 56:56Speaker 3: it was a little roadhouse and he was a singer.
- 57:00Speaker 3: I mean he was his first job. He's eighteen. He
- 57:02Speaker 3: was also a waiter and a singer. Well, Cole Porter
- 57:04Speaker 3: came in one night. I couldn't believe it, cold Porter's
- 57:07Speaker 3: in the audience. So Sinatra decided he'll sing Night and Day. Well,
- 57:11Speaker 3: he got up there and completely panicked. He just froze.
- 57:15Speaker 3: He couldn't remember the words to Night and Day. It
- 57:17Speaker 3: was the most embarrassing thing ever. And that was when
- 57:20Speaker 3: he was eighteen. Now million years later, he's the biggest
- 57:22Speaker 3: star on earth and he's making the film High Society.
- 57:26Speaker 3: It's nineteen fifty six. It's a Cold Porter musical. Coldporter
- 57:30Speaker 3: comes to visit the set and at one point Sinatra system,
- 57:37Speaker 3: you wouldn't remember this, but when I was eighteen, I
- 57:40Speaker 3: was singing in a road and Cold Porter said, I
- 57:43Speaker 3: never forgot it. I never forgot that moment. So it's
- 57:49Speaker 3: stuck in Coldporter's mind. It was so unbelievable. The other
- 57:52Speaker 3: time Sinatra got intimidated, he told me, the only other
- 57:56Speaker 3: time he got intimidated was when he met Winston Churchill.
- 57:58Speaker 3: This is long after World War Too, early fifties. He's
- 58:02Speaker 3: in London and there's a receiving line that where you
- 58:05Speaker 3: were going to meet Churchill. And as he got up
- 58:08Speaker 3: to Churchill, he said, I'm Frank Sinatra, and he tried
- 58:10Speaker 3: to explain who he was, and Churchill grabbed him by
- 58:13Speaker 3: the shoulders. He goes, young man, He goes, I know
- 58:15Speaker 3: who you are. He goes, During World War two and
- 58:18Speaker 3: we went down in the tunnels when we were being bombed.
- 58:20Speaker 3: It was your music that got us through the night.
- 58:22Speaker 3: We listened to your recordings and Sinatra actually teared up.
- 58:26Speaker 3: He couldn't believe it. Anyways, go to Vincent and Brooklyn.
- 58:30Speaker 8: Vincent, how you doing great stories?
- 58:32Speaker 12: Mark?
- 58:32Speaker 8: Great stories?
- 58:33Speaker 3: Mark.
- 58:33Speaker 8: I'm sure you heard my Ma'a Mondami's press conference yesterday
- 58:38Speaker 8: where he had all heads of various departments. So Ma'a
- 58:42Speaker 8: Mondami wants to end so called discrimination against blacks in
- 58:46Speaker 8: Hispanics in New York City by introducing discrimination on everybody else. Yes,
- 58:52Speaker 8: he claims that blacks and Hispanics in the city are
- 58:55Speaker 8: not doing it as well as everybody else. But yet,
- 58:59Speaker 8: as Liz Peak said, and also the President for the
- 59:02Speaker 8: Partnership of New York had an article in the business
- 59:06Speaker 8: section of the in the Post yesterday or the day before,
- 59:10Speaker 8: the crushing effects that New York City and New York
- 59:13Speaker 8: State's fiscal policies are have it on the populace and
- 59:18Speaker 8: on the people who create wealth and the jobs in
- 59:20Speaker 8: this city. He never mentions it.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Wait a minute, you're a stun that the Democratic Socialist
- 59:27Speaker 3: is a hypocrite. You can't believe it.
- 59:30Speaker 8: I mean, but I also heard that the Trump Justice
- 59:35Speaker 8: Department was carefully monitoring what Mondamie was saying because they
- 59:41Speaker 8: may bring a federal discrimination lawsuit against the Mondamian administration.
- 59:47Speaker 8: If he tries to pull it's over, it's open discrimination.
- 59:51Speaker 3: Marketing, is absolutely vincent. Great call, you're absolutely right. So
- 59:54Speaker 3: you're going to do one of these diversity quota reverse
- 59:58Speaker 3: the discrimination. But the Trump Justice Department has said they
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: are going to look at it. They're going to keep
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: their eye on it, and he could actually be violating
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: the law his own form of discrimination. So we'll see.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Let's go to Roger in a Storia. Roger, how you doing.
- 1:00:15Speaker 12: Yeah good. It was a number of years back, but
- 1:00:19Speaker 12: the ex president of Iran, i'm a dinojad ad the
- 1:00:24Speaker 12: following statement. I'm going to paraphrase it. He basically said
- 1:00:29Speaker 12: that if one of the Arab countries has a nuclear weapon,
- 1:00:33Speaker 12: that's to drop it on Israel, fully understanding that Israel
- 1:00:37Speaker 12: will retaliate and wipe them off the face of the earth.
- 1:00:42Speaker 12: He said, but you got to take one for the team.
- 1:00:45Speaker 12: This is the mentality that we're dealing with.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: No, absolutely, this is the people yelled death to America
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: all the time. I forgot about him. I'm a ditaje
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: on the Iranian president, the worst lunatic, radical nutsjob, lunatic
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: in the world. And you remember this is years ago.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: If you think Columbia University just got bad the last
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: few years, it's been bad for a long time. Remember,
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: I can't remember who it is. It was a very
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: prominent Republican politician or governor or some Republican was to
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: speak at Columbia, and the students went crazy because he
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: was a Republican. They did not want him to speak.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: They protested, they blocked the hole, so they had to
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: cancel this Republican guy's speech. And instead the speaker was
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Ahmed Didijohn. The students embraced him, the crazy death to America,
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Death to Israel, Iranian President Ahmed Didijohn. They actually let
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: him speak at Columbia. It's always been bad, it's just
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: it's just the craziest place Colombia. I think it finally
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: got exposed after October seventh, and it's going to be
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: decades and decades before they ever recover their reputation. Hey,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: when we come back, Bill O'Reilly will be with us,
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: and well, I got lots to talk to him about.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: We'll also tell you how all of this is coordinated,
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: the Democratic attacks, how coordinated they are. We'll get to
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: that coming up on seven to ten WR seven ten WRS.
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: Mark Simone Show continues now.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: Well, Bill O'Reilly carts the number one TV anchor for decades.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: You know, he's got all sorts of stuff going on.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: You can go to Bill O'Reilly dot com and see
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: the TV show. You can go to his YouTube channel,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: a lot of great stuff there on YouTube, and also
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: watch his new podcast We'll Do It Live. This great episodes,
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: the latest one with Steve Croft, very interesting and everything's
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: at Bill O'Reilly dot com. Bill O'Reilly, how you doing.
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: Busy? Just like you monitoring them madness? You know.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Hey, let me ask you something. When they all
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: start yelling war crimes Morning, Joe, Rachel, Matt, they're all
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: yelling war crime, warcrime, tell us explain to everybody how
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: this is coordinated. The talking points are coordinated among Democrats.
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: Yeah, there are a number of political action committees in
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: DC on K Street that every morning about eight am,
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: they send blasts to the liberal pundits and some Democrats
- 1:03:13Speaker 9: in Congress, and it's like the word of the day.
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: So here's the theme of the day. And that's why
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: you hear the same phraseology uttered over and over and
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: over on television and in certain newspapers. So the phraseology
- 1:03:33Speaker 9: today is war crimes, and tomorrow it'll be that Trump
- 1:03:39Speaker 9: is not competent, they should have the twenty fifth Amendment
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: to remove him. It's every day something else, and so
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: it's picked up. And then people hear this over and
- 1:03:50Speaker 9: over again and they make of it what they will.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so they'll repeat war crimes over and over. You'll
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: hear ten thousand times, and they Now the average person
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: who's not that partisan, actually thinks it's true. If you
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: talk to a real legal expert, it's not true. But
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: don't walk around thinking there's war crimes going on. So
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: what can you think.
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: You only think it's true if you don't like Trump.
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: And so they democrats and the Trump haters so far left,
- 1:04:20Speaker 9: they seize upon anything negative in order to define the president.
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: So in Iran, what they're trying to do here, and
- 1:04:31Speaker 9: you'll see this play out in the next few days.
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: No matter what Trump does, he loses. So saying he
- 1:04:38Speaker 9: says at the last minute, well, we're not going to
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: bomb the infrastructure of Iran, We're going to pull back
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: and we're going to do exit all he surrendered, Okay,
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: and he said, no, no, Now we're going to go
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: in and blow up some water plants and bridges. No, no, no,
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: this is war crimes. So whatever he does, and this
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: is the Art of the Steel, I call it. Trump's
- 1:05:05Speaker 9: book was the Art of the Deal. It's not going
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: to work out for Trump. He's going to be the
- 1:05:10Speaker 9: villain no matter what.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Now you know him as well as anybody who wrote
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: the book about him. What is going on in his mind?
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: What is the.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: I think there's a lot of confusion in the Department
- 1:05:23Speaker 9: of War right now, and things change from hour to hour.
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: It's the generals that are running it, not hag Seth,
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: not the civilians. I don't know exactly what the intel
- 1:05:41Speaker 9: is going to Trump, but I know he gets it
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: early in the morning, just like the propaganda people put
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: it out. He gets what the general suggests that that
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: line of the day should be from him now, but
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: he really can predict that. There aren't very many leaks.
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: Interestingly enough, there was a talk of point yesterday, but
- 1:06:08Speaker 9: in his first room there's just leak after leak after leak.
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: They seem to have clogged that up. So the press
- 1:06:15Speaker 9: doesn't get a lot coming out of the White house
- 1:06:18Speaker 9: right now, and that's where we are.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Well, and like any billionaire entrepreneur, he'll take big risks,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: he'll go way out on a limb. But you know
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: him as well as anyway. Do you have confidence that
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: he really knows what he's doing here.
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: Well, knows what he's doing well. He certainly understands the situation,
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: and he believes, and this is key, that Iran was
- 1:06:46Speaker 9: within weeks of developing enough uranium to make a nuclear bomb.
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: So he believes that it's not fake, it's not phony,
- 1:06:57Speaker 9: it's not contrive. This is what he believed. And so
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: that all the way down the food chain, that's pretty
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: much what the Trump administration is putting out there. That's
- 1:07:09Speaker 9: not going to change. So once you understand that that
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: he sees it as a direct threat not only to
- 1:07:18Speaker 9: the United States, but to the world, Israel, in Europe,
- 1:07:21Speaker 9: that he's going to basically take the uranium away from
- 1:07:27Speaker 9: the Iranians, and he'll do what he has to do
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: to make that happen. Now, it could be and this
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: is just a guess, that there might be raids on
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: these nuclear facilities by infantry. Now that would cause a
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: lot of trouble in the United States. But I can't
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: see any other way to get that done if the
- 1:07:51Speaker 9: Mullas aren't going to make a deal, and it looks
- 1:07:54Speaker 9: like they are not.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: Yeah, well they've had boots on the ground now twice
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: in both rescue operations, and you think maybe during all
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: of this bombing, that's when the commandos will go in
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: and try to get that material.
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: You know, I can't. I just don't have the information
- 1:08:14Speaker 9: to guess at what the commanders believe. But there are
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: only a few options. So there is a chance that
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: the Molas at the last minute may ask for an
- 1:08:26Speaker 9: extension of negotiations. There's a chance, and that would happen
- 1:08:32Speaker 9: late this afternoon and they said, well, wait a minute, now,
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: we want to go to Islamabad, Pakistan and we want
- 1:08:40Speaker 9: to talk about it a little bit. That could happen,
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: and let's hope it does, because then that could lead
- 1:08:47Speaker 9: to some kind of arrangement where the Molas say, okay, see,
- 1:08:53Speaker 9: it comes down to this, Why did the Mullas want
- 1:08:56Speaker 9: a nuclear weapon for what? Their whole country is being destroyed,
- 1:09:03Speaker 9: their whole structure being assassinated. Does it really mean that
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: much to you? That's what you have to wrap your
- 1:09:14Speaker 9: head around. Why do they want this? All they have
- 1:09:18Speaker 9: to say to Trump is, yeah, well, let the weapons
- 1:09:20Speaker 9: destructors come in and make sure we don't cheat on
- 1:09:24Speaker 9: the Uranian deal. That's it. Then the whole thing falls
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: into place and we would help Iran, the Uranian people
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: rebuild their economy. So you have to say to yourself,
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: these crazy Mullahs are so insane that they would rather
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: have their whole country destroyed and tens of thousands of
- 1:09:48Speaker 9: people dead, and that's happened already to keep their uranium
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: enrichment program. Well, why would they want to do that
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: if they were going to use it?
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: Yeah? Right, absolutely.
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: So you know, I'm a logical, simple guy. I'm just
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: walking through this and you know, and I'm listening to people,
- 1:10:11Speaker 9: and my question is unanswerable because I have a lot
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: of people that you know, I don't like this at all,
- 1:10:19Speaker 9: and why would you like it? It's hurting the economy,
- 1:10:22Speaker 9: it's hurtain people's personal finances. Why would you like it?
- 1:10:26Speaker 9: But then I look at them and I said, are
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: you okay with Ron having a nuclear orban? Yes or no?
- 1:10:35Speaker 9: And I would put that question to pop Leo, You're
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: okay with that? And they can't answer it. They cannot
- 1:10:46Speaker 9: answer it.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Well, we'll see tonight. Hey, let's change subjects for a minute.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Your new podcast, Do It Live. I love it. The
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: Steve Kroft interview was fascinating. Now he's a great guy,
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: loves Steve Kroft, but he couldn't seem to acknowledge that
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: CBS sixty Minutes has gone a little biased. And you
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: see this at MSNBCCNN. They don't realize how biased they've become, do.
- 1:11:09Speaker 9: They, But it is a matter of them. They're like
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: the Mullas in Iran. The Mulls in Iran don't care
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: how many people die, so I couldn't. Who doesn't care
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: how many people are dead?
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: Yeah, mothers don't care. MNS doesn't care how crazy they
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: get as long as they have a million two watching
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: their prime time every night where they can make money
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: from it. Yeah, they couldn't care less about anything else.
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: It's a bottom line. We want to make this kind
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: of money and if we have to say crazy stuff,
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: we'll say crazy stuff. That's it. There's no more to
- 1:11:56Speaker 9: it than that.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Colbert is going off there and not even asked. The
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: replacement will be a comedy show with no politics and
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: a game show, we'll do the next second half hour.
- 1:12:10Speaker 9: Well, they stole the comedy concept from Gutfeld. Yeah, absolutely
- 1:12:16Speaker 9: stole it from him. And so Byron Allen, who I
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: know a little bit. He's always been respectful and a
- 1:12:25Speaker 9: very successful businessman. So he'll sit there and he'll bring
- 1:12:28Speaker 9: in some comics and they'll make fun of everybody.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: But he said he instructed everybody no politics, no political
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: jokes of any kind.
- 1:12:37Speaker 9: Yeah, but they have to get into if it's gonna
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: be relevant, they have to get into whatever the news
- 1:12:45Speaker 9: of the day is. What are they going to talk
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: about your mother in law? Are we going to bring
- 1:12:49Speaker 9: Rodney back? And what are we going to do?
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, he's probably thinking ahead. You could rerun, he said,
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: I love Lucy want to be able to rerun these
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: forever and ever so that they're timeless.
- 1:13:00Speaker 9: I don't know if Ricky can stay up that late.
- 1:13:03Speaker 9: Certainly Little Ricky can't. But so LI sit around and
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: you know, this is a CBS play. Maybe they make
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: a little money. I don't. I doubt it. I don't
- 1:13:16Speaker 9: think it's going to work at all. But you know
- 1:13:21Speaker 9: that whole genre of late night is over. It's not
- 1:13:24Speaker 9: coming back.
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: Yeh.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: Well, we love what you can watch Bill O'Reilly. Go
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: to Bill O'Reilly dot com. Make sure you watch this
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: YouTube channel. I like the new podcast Do It Live.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: You know what I love the most All these guys
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: they have to wear like a lumberjackshirt and do it
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: from their basement. You at least do it in a
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: TV studio and you wear that's the way to do it.
- 1:13:44Speaker 9: I think, you know. Look, I'm a traditional guy. My
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: staff said, why don't you wear fatigues? I'm going no, Okay,
- 1:13:53Speaker 9: this is ridiculous. I know there's a divide between the
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: over fifties and the fifties. I got it. But the
- 1:14:02Speaker 9: information flow that we can bring to these broadcasts. With
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: Steve Kroft, I work for CBS. I know everything about it,
- 1:14:11Speaker 9: so I get to ask him questions that nobody else
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: could ask him, and we got a lot of publicity
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: on that. He was very honest. He's eighty years old.
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: What has he got to lose? And that's the way
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: we're going to conduct ourselves.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really good. You can watch. It's called We'll
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: Do It Live. Bill O'Reilly's podcast is a four episodes
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: now right, they're all yeah.
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: Very good and we got Howie Mandell dropping on Thursday.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: Oh great, all right, well watch we'll do it live.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: Bill O'Reilly's new podcast. Check out this YouTube channel and
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: of course the column everything the TV shows at Bill
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: O'Reilly dot com. Bill O'Reilly dot com. Bill O'Reilly thanks
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: for being with us.
- 1:14:48Speaker 9: Appreciate ye me, Mark, thank you.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: Take care. Hey, don't forget tonight Jimmy Fayla at nine o'clock.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Great show. And you know Curtis is back on every morning.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: It's Curtis Leewa and Larry Mente six to ten every
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: morning here on seven to ten WR.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on SR.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Well, if you've ever been on the Cross Bronx Expressway,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: you know it can be a nightmare. It's just one
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: big traffic jam now times in the middle of the day,
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: one two o'clock, in the afternoon, three o'clock, it's okay,
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: it's okay, it's not bad, but most of the time
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: it's just an absolute snarled up mess. The Crossbronx Expressway
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: goes from the George Washington Bridge to like the east
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: east side of Manhattan, and if you want to go
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: from New Jersey to Long Island, you need to use
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: the Cross Bronx or to Westchester. But now the problem is,
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: what do you do about it. It's just a traffic nightmare.
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: It's just bumper to bumper the whole time. You can't move.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: So there's a whole plan to widen it. Put an
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: extra two lanes in there. It can be done. Make
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: it four lanes on both sides. It's a nine hundred
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: billion dollar project. And to widen it, you know, you
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: have to come out a little closer to the buildings
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: on each side. So this is the plan. New York
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: State's going to do it. Now, AOC who's actually the
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: congresswoman of that part of the Bronx, has written an
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: angry letter to Kathy Hokeel saying she better stop this plan.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: You better not go ahead with this, and she does
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: not want it done. Now. Remember it was Pete Buddhajege
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: and some of these Democrats who said the Cross Bronx
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: is a racist expressway. Now somebody said, well, how could
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: a bunch of concrete be racist? Well, they argued that
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: when it was built, Robert Moses deliberately divided neighborhoods based
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: on race by putting the Cross bronx in as a
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: border well actually at that time was the mostly Jewish neighborhood.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: So but here's the problem. Now, Kathy Hockel doesn't Why
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: why do you have to listen to AOC who cares
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: do whatever you're going to do. But it's an election
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: year and AOC controls a lot of the far left,
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: so Hochel's running for reelection AOC, Mamdani, those types. If
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: they start going after Hockel, it'll cost her the far left,
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: which is a big part of her votes that she
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: needs in New York City that could help Blakeman win.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: So expect Kathy Hockel to cave in on this. Now.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: It's easy to cave in because it's a nine hundred
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: million dollar project. You know, whenever the government tries to
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: do anything with construction or a road, it takes twenty years.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: So this won't even start for a couple of years anyway,
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: So expect Hockel to cave in on this. Hey, we're
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: out of time. I'll be back tomorrow. I'm here every
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: day ten to noon, or you could listen any time
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: you want, Dare night, just get the podcast any place
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: you get podcasts. I'll see you tomorrow ten o'clock right
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: here on seven to ten w
