- 0:20Speaker 1: Everyone. Welcome to bless This Messa, the try Crup Podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm care here's do say Haystu. Hey, all right, we
- 0:25Speaker 1: are back this week. We are going to Texas. Sorry
- 0:28Speaker 1: for the delay. We had quite the week. Let me
- 0:31Speaker 1: tell you quite the week. The baby we call the baby,
- 0:36Speaker 1: she's one almost two. She got sick on Friday night.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I guess I thought it was Saturday, but.
- 0:44Speaker 1: No, it was Friday night. She stopped sleeping and was
- 0:47Speaker 1: awake from two to five am every single night. Ye
- 0:50Speaker 1: slept sporadically before that and was all the way until
- 0:53Speaker 1: like five am. She would just become completely exhausted where
- 0:56Speaker 1: she could go to sleep because she has a They
- 0:58Speaker 1: don't have like the flu or anything. She has a
- 1:00Speaker 1: cough and so yes, and it's just like tragic to
- 1:04Speaker 1: her that she.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Has to cough for such things.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yes, it's the worst thing that's ever happened to her.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And in her defense, it probably is the worst thing
- 1:12Speaker 1: that's ever happened to her. So this went on for
- 1:14Speaker 1: roughly four nights in a row of this pattern. We
- 1:19Speaker 1: would eventually have to around two thirty am. She was
- 1:22Speaker 1: just so hysterical. You couldn't like get her calm down.
- 1:25Speaker 1: She would watch Paul Patrol movie so we could from
- 1:28Speaker 1: two to five so we could sleep, get some sleep,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and it was broken sleep, and then I was sick.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I didn't have it as bad as her. The three
- 1:36Speaker 1: year old was sick, but he was fine, like he
- 1:38Speaker 1: just had the cough during the day and everything. He
- 1:40Speaker 1: slept fine. And then now the five year old is sick.
- 1:45Speaker 2: They're all coughing, and then they get to the point
- 1:47Speaker 2: where it sounds like they're gonna throw up. They're coughing
- 1:49Speaker 2: so bad.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yes, but it's just a cough. They don't have fevers,
- 1:53Speaker 1: there's nothing, there's no point going to the doctor. It's
- 1:55Speaker 1: just one of those you just got to suffer through
- 1:57Speaker 1: until it yeap, until it clears out. So hopefully we're turning.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We did get to the last two nights we have
- 2:04Speaker 1: had sleep, solid sleep, so she's catching up on her sleep.
- 2:09Speaker 1: She's sleeping very well. We all got sleep the last
- 2:12Speaker 1: two nights. I've had high stress at work though that
- 2:15Speaker 1: continues on today. But we're making it through. But we're off.

- 4:31Speaker 1: want to.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I'm married.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Anyways. All right, so let's go to our case out
- 4:38Speaker 1: of Texas. So on January twenty one, two thousand and seven,
- 4:42Speaker 1: at the EB Game Store in San Antonio, Texas. Do
- 4:45Speaker 1: you remember EB game stores?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Now?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Some some the are the some articles I read's called
- 4:52Speaker 1: it EB game Store. Some of them called game stops.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Maybe it was like a pre maybe game stop purchased them.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I feel like I remember something about an EB game store.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Maybe I was past the age of really caring about
- 5:04Speaker 2: gaming stores.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But you had a time child that would have cared.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yes, he did care. So I don't know anyway, But
- 5:13Speaker 2: the only thing we had in Lafaette that I recall
- 5:15Speaker 2: is game stops, and there was another local one that we.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Went to anyway, So it's the EB Game Store in
- 5:20Speaker 1: San Antonio, Texas. It is a chain, so there's multiple
- 5:23Speaker 1: around the city. Customers were unable to access the store.
- 5:26Speaker 1: It appeared that it had never been opened. Now his
- 5:29Speaker 1: word got around to other employees at nearby stores. A
- 5:33Speaker 1: manager from another store decided to go over and check
- 5:36Speaker 1: and just see what was going on. Why the store
- 5:38Speaker 1: wasn't ever opened for the day. Because this is around
- 5:41Speaker 1: two pm when he arrived, so it's definitely should have been.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that normally opens at ten am. I
- 5:46Speaker 2: can't believe it took him this long ago check it out.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, So anyway, so he arrives around two pm and
- 5:51Speaker 1: this finds the store is locked. As he's looking through
- 5:54Speaker 1: the window, he notices that the assistant manager named Brandon
- 5:58Speaker 1: was standing in the store. So Brandon he opens the
- 6:01Speaker 1: door and the other manager he says, hey, have you
- 6:04Speaker 1: seen Amber. Amber Belkin is the twenty five year old
- 6:07Speaker 1: manager of that store, so she would have been the
- 6:08Speaker 1: one that was here the one.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Brandon says no, that he had just got there a
- 6:13Speaker 1: few minutes before, but the store appeared to have been
- 6:16Speaker 1: ransacked with video games over the floor, there's cash strewn
- 6:19Speaker 1: about and everything like that. It was clear that something
- 6:22Speaker 1: you know, had happened here. So he's looking around for Amber,
- 6:27Speaker 1: calling out for her, and no one responds, and so
- 6:30Speaker 1: he makes his way to Since he saw the cash,
- 6:33Speaker 1: he's like, okay, they probably got into the safe. So
- 6:35Speaker 1: he heads back to the back office and he's horrified
- 6:38Speaker 1: to discover Amber's body lying on the ground, lifeless. He
- 6:41Speaker 1: immediately calls nine one one and they arrive on the
- 6:43Speaker 1: scene along with investigators because it is clear that this
- 6:46Speaker 1: is a homicide right off the bat. Now, investigators assess
- 6:51Speaker 1: the scene and it's clear that Amber is no longer
- 6:53Speaker 1: with us. She's lying face down on her stomach and
- 6:56Speaker 1: she has a plastic bag twisted around her neck, so
- 6:58Speaker 1: it appears that she has been suffocated to death. Yes.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Upon further examination the body, they found that she did
- 7:05Speaker 1: have some like marks on her wrist, indicating that she
- 7:08Speaker 1: had been bound at some point. But it appeared that
- 7:10Speaker 1: whoever had bound her had actually taken a knife, because
- 7:13Speaker 1: she had a small cut on a risk wrist as well,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and those like binds were gone.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Like somebody is a knife or something to cut them off.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Cup the tape and they're thinking it's duct tape that
- 7:25Speaker 1: was used based on like the residue and stuff, and
- 7:28Speaker 1: they probably took it because they for sure knew duct
- 7:31Speaker 1: tape's gonna take any fingerprints that's that's on there. So
- 7:35Speaker 1: whoever did this thought this through and cut off those
- 7:38Speaker 1: the duct tape from around her wrist before they left.
- 7:44Speaker 2: As investigators are looking around the scene, it's clear that
- 7:46Speaker 2: the motive is a robbery. It didn't appear that Amber
- 7:49Speaker 2: had been sexually assaulted during the attack. They started asking
- 7:53Speaker 2: around to see if they can put together some sort
- 7:55Speaker 2: of timeline because by the time they found Amber Amber,
- 8:00Speaker 2: it was in the afternoon and the store would have
- 8:02Speaker 2: been set to open that morning around ten am.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so they've already lost a lot of time in
- 8:06Speaker 1: this investigation as to when they could have recovered evidence
- 8:11Speaker 1: or stopped with me. Yes, I moved my microphones.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, stop touching things.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Okay, No, I can't stop.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I know you can't.
- 8:20Speaker 1: What it happens to Okay, this is a DIY situation.
- 8:25Speaker 2: You're distracting men. What it sounds like are the speakers.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So it's been a while since the store opened. To that,
- 8:33Speaker 1: they've lost a lot of time, Like any amount of
- 8:35Speaker 1: time between when it happened and when they find the body.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You're losing evidence, You're losing chances to catch who did this.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yes, investigators speak to employees who said that Amber had
- 8:46Speaker 2: the same routine every morning when she opened the store.
- 8:49Speaker 2: She arrived at the store around nine am. She would
- 8:52Speaker 2: go through the receipts from the day before, and then
- 8:54Speaker 2: she would head off to the bank to deposit the
- 8:56Speaker 2: cash from the previous day's sales. Then she would arrive
- 9:01Speaker 2: back at the store just before ten am to open
- 9:03Speaker 2: it up. They discovered that Amber had spoken to another
- 9:07Speaker 2: manager at around nine am that morning after she had
- 9:10Speaker 2: arrived at the store. Now, while she's talking to that
- 9:14Speaker 2: other store manager, she abruptly hangs up on him, saying
- 9:18Speaker 2: that someone was knocking at the door. The manager said
- 9:21Speaker 2: that she didn't seem too concerned about this. The other
- 9:24Speaker 2: manager thought maybe it was just a customer that was
- 9:26Speaker 2: checking to see if the store would open or not.
- 9:28Speaker 1: There's people all the time. I mean, I've been guilty
- 9:31Speaker 1: myself knocked on theor like oh my god, I need
- 9:33Speaker 1: to I mean, I don't know what kind of video
- 9:34Speaker 1: open I don't know.
- 9:36Speaker 2: No, was that that lady that they had that commercial
- 9:40Speaker 2: where she was staying at the thing trying to will
- 9:42Speaker 2: the store to open.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Oh so, I don't know what kind of video game
- 9:46Speaker 1: emergency there would have been at nine am, but somebody
- 9:49Speaker 1: was trying, probably trying to see what they could.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Get in the new video game of the day was
- 9:53Speaker 2: coming out that day.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Well true line, But when I use to work at
- 10:00Speaker 1: the pizza restaurant, I would it would. We would get
- 10:04Speaker 1: so mad because we would if you opened and the
- 10:06Speaker 1: idiot from the night before forgot to turn off the
- 10:08Speaker 1: open sign and you have people knocking on the door,
- 10:11Speaker 1: and then you're having they're like the open signs on though,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, seriously, somebody.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Look at that. Look at the hours in the window. Lady.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I know, lady, this clearly states eleven eight, because it
- 10:21Speaker 1: was always a lady. Yes, it's always a lady. We're
- 10:28Speaker 1: guilty as charged.
- 10:30Speaker 2: If it was me, I'd be like, oh sorry, I
- 10:31Speaker 2: saw the open sign on I understand.
- 10:34Speaker 1: But there was no understanding. There was no many of
- 10:37Speaker 1: these people. They were very disappointed they couldn't get their
- 10:40Speaker 1: shall met cheese sticks in their floor cow zone.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yes, that manager that she spoke to on the phone
- 10:48Speaker 2: did not hear. He did not hear from her again
- 10:51Speaker 2: that morning.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But he wasn't concerned. It wasn't like, oh, where to
- 10:54Speaker 1: ambergo or anything. It was just a casual conversation. And
- 10:58Speaker 1: if they didn't she didn't call back. It's like he
- 11:00Speaker 1: didn't think anything of it. No.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Investigators check with the bank and they found out that
- 11:06Speaker 2: she did not make the deposit that morning, which would
- 11:08Speaker 2: have been around nineteen hundred dollars. In the back office,
- 11:12Speaker 2: the safe was open, indicating that the person took the money.
- 11:15Speaker 2: The killer also took off with dozens of video games
- 11:18Speaker 2: and video game consoles. With the schedule that Amber kept,
- 11:22Speaker 2: the phone call to the other manager, and the fact
- 11:24Speaker 2: that she never made it to the bank, investigators are
- 11:27Speaker 2: going to pinpoint this murder somewhere between nine and ten am.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yes, so they at least have, thankfully, with the phone
- 11:34Speaker 1: calls in her routine that she has. They did were
- 11:37Speaker 1: able to pinpoint, yes, within an hour, about.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Solid theory on on what time she was murdered.
- 11:43Speaker 1: As news of the murder at the video game store
- 11:45Speaker 1: got around town, news cruise like, they began showing up
- 11:48Speaker 1: to just cover live updates. Yes, they were there like
- 11:54Speaker 1: flies on manure, you know. Ste they were there and
- 11:58Speaker 1: so unfortunately, this is how Amber's parents, Randy and Lee Belkin,
- 12:03Speaker 1: found out that something had happened to their daughter, who
- 12:07Speaker 1: was the store manager. So they are driving by. They
- 12:12Speaker 1: start hearing there's like something happened at this store, say,
- 12:14Speaker 1: drive by, they see all this commotion out there. The
- 12:17Speaker 1: dad arrives first, he stops in and he's like, hey,
- 12:20Speaker 1: what's going on? My daughter works here or whatever, And
- 12:23Speaker 1: unfortunately that's how they have to inform him that it's
- 12:26Speaker 1: Amber who was murdered. And then shortly after his co
- 12:31Speaker 1: Remember this is two thousands off. They had cell phones,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but it's not like today. I don't feel like the
- 12:36Speaker 1: cell phones. I don't even know if an iPhone was
- 12:38Speaker 1: out at that point, I don't think so. If it was,
- 12:41Speaker 1: it was new and very very expensive. Yes, not that
- 12:43Speaker 1: they're not that they're not expensive now I had.
- 12:46Speaker 2: One in the two thousand and seven eight range, I belive.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Okay, anyways, it was the.
- 12:53Speaker 2: First gin I tried to work on it myself out
- 12:55Speaker 2: broke and it's probably worth a small fortune.
- 12:57Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Nobody cares the nostalgia. Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Anyways, So then her mother shows up at the scene
- 13:04Speaker 1: as well, and they have to the husband, you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: her husband has to tell them, you know, Amber has
- 13:09Speaker 1: been murdered. So this was their only child, and she
- 13:12Speaker 1: was like their entire world. They said that she was
- 13:15Speaker 1: a perfect child growing up. She never had any trouble.
- 13:18Speaker 1: They never had trouble with her, no issues or anything
- 13:21Speaker 1: like that. She was currently working at that video game
- 13:23Speaker 1: store as the manager, but she had just enrolled in
- 13:26Speaker 1: college and wanted to become a veterinarian. So this was
- 13:30Speaker 1: really devastating for them. I know it's hard, probably hard
- 13:35Speaker 1: to lose any children, but when I feel like, when
- 13:37Speaker 1: it's the only child, it really is like.
- 13:39Speaker 2: That time focusing on them.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and you don't have the other children possibly to
- 13:44Speaker 1: like get it together.
- 13:46Speaker 2: For you know, Yeah, you can spiral, I guess.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, there's more room to spiral. I feel like if
- 13:52Speaker 1: you don't have other children too that you're like, I
- 13:54Speaker 1: got to pull together to get for my other children
- 13:57Speaker 1: and everything at that. So this seems dremely difficult to
- 14:00Speaker 1: lose your only child, especially when you're like, we made
- 14:04Speaker 1: it through like all the times on your teenage Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 1: all the toddler years when you're like, are they going
- 14:09Speaker 1: to choke on something? Are they gonna like follow the pool,
- 14:11Speaker 1: Like what's gonna happen?
- 14:12Speaker 2: Am I going to choke them?
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah? And then you make it up through like teenage
- 14:16Speaker 1: years with all the things that can.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Go wrong, curfews, missed, maybe not drugs.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And then you car wrecks, crashes, things like that, and
- 14:24Speaker 1: then you know, she's twenty five. They probably feel a
- 14:26Speaker 1: little bit more comfortable she's out there.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Our insurance has gone down at age twenty five. Yes,
- 14:31Speaker 2: they're considered beyond all that foolishness.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, So this was really hard on her parents.
- 14:39Speaker 2: As crime scene investigators collected the evidence and all topicsy
- 14:43Speaker 2: was performed it was completed, they were able to determine
- 14:47Speaker 2: that Amber was not sexually assaulted and it appears that
- 14:50Speaker 2: the only motive was the robbery. Unfortunately, investigators were unable
- 14:55Speaker 2: to collect any physical evidence in terms of fingerprints or
- 14:58Speaker 2: DNA or her finger and nails. So the crime scene
- 15:02Speaker 2: did not render a lot of information.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they looked like this crime scene was just in
- 15:07Speaker 1: terms of evidence, was terrible because there just wasn't.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I don't even know how there wasn't much there or
- 15:13Speaker 2: if they ransacked the place.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I mean, well, if he wore gloves and removed that
- 15:18Speaker 1: duct tape that he had, I'm assuming he wore gloves,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you know.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah, DNA testing back in the day wasn't what it
- 15:26Speaker 2: is today. If they did find anything.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think now you hardly need anything to
- 15:31Speaker 1: get DNA, like you just need the touch DNA touch
- 15:34Speaker 1: DNA even now. So back it was two thousand and seven,
- 15:37Speaker 1: so they would have had if they could have found some.
- 15:39Speaker 1: But yeah, it's not what it is today for sure.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because that Colberger guy, they got touched DNL that
- 15:45Speaker 2: sheath they found.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I guess, oh, is that what they got?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they got some touch.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I was going back and forth whether he actually did
- 15:50Speaker 1: it or not.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Well, they got touched DNA off the sheath and while
- 15:53Speaker 2: they had a bunch of other stuff too. I didn't
- 15:55Speaker 2: read into it.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Maybe, but was the roommate involved, That's my question. I
- 15:59Speaker 1: don't think so, okay, anyways, go on, that's a whole,
- 16:04Speaker 1: whole nother story for a whole nother day.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So the crime scene didn't render a lot of information.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Investigators start to wonder what was the purpose of killing
- 16:12Speaker 2: Amber if they were already able to get the money
- 16:16Speaker 2: and the games and consoles. They don't believe that Amber
- 16:19Speaker 2: would have fought the assailant to try to save the
- 16:21Speaker 2: store's money or it's merchandise. No, I wouldn't fight somebody
- 16:25Speaker 2: over nineteen hundred dollars and some three four hundred dollars game.
- 16:30Speaker 1: She don't care. She's she's not like, doesn't own the store, like,
- 16:34Speaker 1: she doesn't care, She's just there as a mandor. She'd
- 16:37Speaker 1: just be like, here, here's the money, here's the games.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Please don't hurt me.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yes, insurance will take care of it. I'll just tell
- 16:41Speaker 2: the owner. So they're starting to think that this is
- 16:45Speaker 2: possibly some of the somebody that Amber would have been
- 16:48Speaker 2: able to recognize and turn in. Therefore, it might have
- 16:51Speaker 2: been somebody else who worked at the store. It would
- 16:54Speaker 2: have been the only motivation to kill her from what
- 16:56Speaker 2: they're they're guessing there, they're working theory here is that
- 17:01Speaker 2: she would have been able to identify this robber turn
- 17:04Speaker 2: them in. There was also no cameras in the store,
- 17:07Speaker 2: and the person or people who would know that there's
- 17:09Speaker 2: no cameras there would be people that work there. Yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 2: unless somebody, which is crazy.
- 17:15Speaker 1: They don't have cameras in a video game store.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You know, that's two thousand and seven. They're quite spending
- 17:21Speaker 2: back then.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I know that. But a video game store is like
- 17:23Speaker 1: rampant for theft because that's like usually it's like young
- 17:27Speaker 1: people who can't afford them.
- 17:28Speaker 2: They usually got the locks, or they don't put the
- 17:30Speaker 2: games inside the boxes. You got to bring the box
- 17:33Speaker 2: up to the counter then they put the game in
- 17:35Speaker 2: the box.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Well, still, they should have had security there. We're going
- 17:41Speaker 1: to learn they had security at every other store except
- 17:44Speaker 1: for this one.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Noll spoiler alert.
- 17:47Speaker 1: We will learn that later on, folks. It will be important.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Because of the person or persons that knew this.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yes, yes, do so. Investigators they focus on the person
- 17:57Speaker 1: that was at the scene at the time, which was
- 18:00Speaker 1: that assistant manager named Brandon. Now, they interviewed him at
- 18:04Speaker 1: length and tried to nail down a timeline as to
- 18:06Speaker 1: like when he showed up and how long he'd been
- 18:08Speaker 1: there before the other manager showed up, which at the
- 18:10Speaker 1: time he had told the other manager, I just got
- 18:12Speaker 1: here like a few minutes ago. But there was quite
- 18:15Speaker 1: a few like it was just strange. There was inconsistencies
- 18:18Speaker 1: about his story, and like why would he if the
- 18:21Speaker 1: door if the door is supposed to be open, why
- 18:25Speaker 1: would you so the door's locked. I don't know if
- 18:28Speaker 1: he went through the back door whatever, But if the
- 18:30Speaker 1: door's locked, why would you re lock it? Or maybe
- 18:32Speaker 1: he went through the maybe he can't. Maybe that's what
- 18:34Speaker 1: they're missing. There was a back door that he could
- 18:37Speaker 1: have come through to enter and because they're saying would
- 18:41Speaker 1: he or did he enter through the front door? But
- 18:44Speaker 1: I don't think they could get a solid answer from him.
- 18:46Speaker 2: He was I was unlocked the door and I went in.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't need people following me in here.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I'm not going to open this door. I would lock
- 18:52Speaker 2: the door behind me.
- 18:53Speaker 1: No, he got there when the door was supposed to
- 18:55Speaker 1: be open, but.
- 18:57Speaker 2: He had to unlock the door to get in though, right, yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 1: But why would you turn around and relock the door
- 19:01Speaker 1: unless he came in through the back door? But that
- 19:03Speaker 1: was the problem. They couldn't get any type of solid
- 19:06Speaker 1: information for I'm.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Saying me personally, if I came and I unlocked the
- 19:09Speaker 2: front door, I would lock it behind me because I
- 19:11Speaker 2: don't want people coming in because I don't know what's
- 19:13Speaker 2: going on in this store.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Okay, well, maybe Brandon was there.
- 19:16Speaker 2: And I don't want to run the cash register because.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Anyway, So also he was he saw Amber's car out there,
- 19:24Speaker 1: but apparently hadn't looked for back in the office or
- 19:27Speaker 1: anything like that. Like the one manager that came in,
- 19:29Speaker 1: he was like, clearly something's wrong and immediately goes and
- 19:33Speaker 1: looks for where the cash would have been and looks
- 19:34Speaker 1: for Amber. Like this guy just didn't do this. He
- 19:39Speaker 1: never instigated, investigated anything. I mean, the door was clearly
- 19:43Speaker 1: ransacked and stuff. So unless he really did just get there.
- 19:47Speaker 1: But again, they don't have footage video cameras, they can't
- 19:51Speaker 1: say how long he'd been there. But it was just
- 19:53Speaker 1: a strange. He was just strange how he acted. So
- 19:58Speaker 1: with the focus now on Brandon, they need to see
- 20:00Speaker 1: if there was any motive for him to harm Amber.
- 20:03Speaker 1: They did find out speaking to coworkers that Amber did
- 20:06Speaker 1: have issues with Brandon and she had written him up
- 20:08Speaker 1: multiple times and was at the point where she was
- 20:10Speaker 1: kind of building a case to turn him into like
- 20:13Speaker 1: upper management because he was an assistant manager, so he
- 20:16Speaker 1: would need probably like a district manager or something like
- 20:18Speaker 1: that to fire him. So she was working on turning
- 20:22Speaker 1: in that paperwork and I think she was going to
- 20:23Speaker 1: be doing it like that day or coming up. So
- 20:27Speaker 1: maybe Brandon just didn't give a fuck because he's like, yeah, okay,
- 20:31Speaker 1: we don't say that, but maybe that's what brandons.
- 20:34Speaker 2: That's probably what Brandon.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Was probably thinking, like, I ain't going to help her.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I don't like her, she don't like me. We don't
- 20:39Speaker 1: get along. I don't care anyway. So when speaking to
- 20:42Speaker 1: Amber's mother, she did say that Amber had mentioned Brandon
- 20:45Speaker 1: before and said that he had a temper and he
- 20:47Speaker 1: kind of made her uncomfortable. Now, with this information, they
- 20:51Speaker 1: brought Brandon back. Brandon back in and went over his
- 20:55Speaker 1: alibi for the time that they believed Amber was murdered.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Because they did narrow it down to that nine and
- 20:59Speaker 1: ten eight time frame. He said that he was with
- 21:03Speaker 1: his girlfriend as well as his parents, so they did
- 21:05Speaker 1: interview his family members, his girlfriend. They did say that
- 21:08Speaker 1: they saw him around that morning. They did confirm that
- 21:12Speaker 1: he was with them at the time that Amber was killed,
- 21:15Speaker 1: so not just wanting to go off family members and
- 21:18Speaker 1: a girlfriend. They did pull his cell phone records and
- 21:21Speaker 1: there was apparently a cell tower about an eighth of
- 21:23Speaker 1: a mile from the location, and during that time that
- 21:27Speaker 1: Amber was murdered, his cell phone didn't ping at all
- 21:30Speaker 1: off that but that doesn't mean someone couldn't have liked
- 21:33Speaker 1: not brought their phone, but anyways, they did. He was
- 21:38Speaker 1: cooperative though with police. He consented to having his apartment searched,
- 21:42Speaker 1: his car search which that's like a lot, you know,
- 21:44Speaker 1: when they come. God, that's like a mess with a Yeah. Anyway,
- 21:48Speaker 1: so despite all of this, they really honed in on
- 21:51Speaker 1: one and they really thought this was their guy. And
- 21:55Speaker 1: then it turned out there just wasn't any evidence at
- 21:58Speaker 1: the crime scene. There wasn't. They couldn't his alibi had
- 22:01Speaker 1: been confirmed. He was very you know, cooperative. They couldn't
- 22:05Speaker 1: find any evidence in his car or in his because
- 22:08Speaker 1: he would have had money or games or something, you know,
- 22:11Speaker 1: he wouldn't have been able to.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Get rid of him that unless they had a drop
- 22:15Speaker 2: site to hide them all.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But yeah, so anyways, besides seeming like odd and a
- 22:20Speaker 1: little bit suspicious. They really didn't have anything to go on,
- 22:22Speaker 1: so they had to move on to try to find
- 22:25Speaker 1: other suspects.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Follow some other leads, try to dig some up.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But they did spend a lot of time on Brandon.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And it is one of the regrets of the investigation,
- 22:34Speaker 1: they said, was they really tried to make They did
- 22:37Speaker 1: the thing where they make the facts try to match
- 22:40Speaker 1: their theory rather than the theory find the facts, you know,
- 22:44Speaker 1: or the the facts they wanted. They were trying to
- 22:48Speaker 1: find facts to match their theory instead of letting the
- 22:50Speaker 1: facts tell them what the theory was. Yes, and they
- 22:54Speaker 1: made that mistake and wasted a lot of time on him.
- 22:57Speaker 2: So after they got all the confirmation of his olley
- 23:00Speaker 2: and cell phone, they were still trying to figure out
- 23:02Speaker 2: how he did.
- 23:03Speaker 1: They just were Yeah, they just were just not convinced
- 23:05Speaker 1: until they finally had to move on from it. They're like,
- 23:08Speaker 1: we just don't have any evidence against this guy. We
- 23:10Speaker 1: can't just keep hounding on him. They said. They pretty
- 23:13Speaker 1: much run his life for quite some time about this,
- 23:15Speaker 1: and he was like the number one suspect, and.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Everybody in town thought he was a killer problem.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, so they do regret that.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I'm not as much as Brandon. I'm sure, yeah, not
- 23:24Speaker 2: as much Brandon. Months would go by with no new
- 23:29Speaker 2: breaks in the case, despite there being a reward for
- 23:31Speaker 2: any tips leading to an arrest, and it was.
- 23:33Speaker 1: A big reward. I think they said it was around
- 23:35Speaker 1: one hundred thousand dollars.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, talking some good money. Investigators are starting to get
- 23:39Speaker 2: concerned that this would become a cold case, when out
- 23:42Speaker 2: of nowhere, a phone call comes into the police department
- 23:45Speaker 2: from a young fella stating his name is Joe. He
- 23:49Speaker 2: said he worked out another EB games in the city
- 23:51Speaker 2: and that he had been let go, but he did
- 23:54Speaker 2: receive a phone call from a former co worker stating
- 23:57Speaker 2: that he wanted to rob one of the stores, and
- 23:59Speaker 2: he was thinking about the one in San Pedro, which
- 24:02Speaker 2: was Amber store off.
- 24:03Speaker 1: San Pedro, off in San Pedro.
- 24:06Speaker 2: On San Pedro Road.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I'm thinking yes on you said in San Pedro. Oh yeah, so,
- 24:12Speaker 1: I'm just it was still in Sanchez was on the
- 24:15Speaker 1: road with San Pedro.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I got you. Joe told police that the friend said
- 24:19Speaker 2: he wanted to do that store because it had no
- 24:21Speaker 2: security cameras.
- 24:22Speaker 1: See, he knew it was the one store that didn't
- 24:25Speaker 1: have any security cameras.
- 24:27Speaker 2: The young kid then stated about a month later that
- 24:30Speaker 2: the former coworker told him Joe that when they were
- 24:34Speaker 2: riding around town, the guy said, I did it. So
- 24:38Speaker 2: at this point, this is their best lead, and it
- 24:40Speaker 2: did seem like Joe calling up the cops did have
- 24:44Speaker 2: some information about the security camera situation at the EB Games.
- 24:49Speaker 2: It took some convincing, but the young buck finally did
- 24:53Speaker 2: give up a name for his buddy that said he
- 24:56Speaker 2: did it, and that name was Giovanni Rivera.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yes, because he was originally Joe said that what happened
- 25:02Speaker 1: was he was trying. Giovanni was trying to get Joe
- 25:04Speaker 1: to be involved with the crime, and He's like, na, man,
- 25:07Speaker 1: that's not for me. I don't want to do that.
- 25:10Speaker 1: And so then that's when he kind of let it go.
- 25:12Speaker 1: And then he said, like a month later, he's like, hey,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I did that. I did it, and he's like, did
- 25:17Speaker 1: what and then tells him what he did. And so
- 25:20Speaker 1: now Joe's harboring this information, probably scared of his friend
- 25:24Speaker 1: now because he's fucking psychopath.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd be scared to you. I'd be like this
- 25:28Speaker 2: dude told me this shit. He might come looking for me,
- 25:30Speaker 2: thinking I'm going to write him out. I better write
- 25:32Speaker 2: him out before he comes looking for me. Well he
- 25:34Speaker 2: already killed one person.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so investors, Yeah, what happened was they pressed Joe.
- 25:40Speaker 1: They're like, are you sure you weren't involved in this?
- 25:42Speaker 1: And you're just like coming to say to save your
- 25:44Speaker 1: what They're like, you need to tell us now because
- 25:46Speaker 1: now's the time we can get you immunity to testify
- 25:50Speaker 1: against Giovanni all this stuff. He's like, no, I really didn't,
- 25:54Speaker 1: he said. They're like, well, why'd you finally come in
- 25:56Speaker 1: because it's been months now that they've been and he
- 25:59Speaker 1: said the guilt just kept eating away at him. That
- 26:01Speaker 1: you know, he'd see the face because the family was
- 26:04Speaker 1: very present in the news media. The mom and the
- 26:07Speaker 1: dad were out there every day like crying, trying to
- 26:09Speaker 1: push forward, trying to figure out who did this to
- 26:11Speaker 1: their daughter, and he said he saw it. It just
- 26:13Speaker 1: like bothered him. He was very scared of Giovanni, but
- 26:16Speaker 1: eventually that his guilt for what happened to amber outweighed
- 26:22Speaker 1: his fear of Giovanni, and that's why he decided to
- 26:26Speaker 1: come forward. So in the end, he did the right thing.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It took him up. They said he was young though,
- 26:29Speaker 1: so like he probably was very scary to have this
- 26:32Speaker 1: freaking cold blooded killer his friend know that he's one
- 26:36Speaker 1: that knows and it's gonna go tell on him.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, many you can get run over, hit in the
- 26:40Speaker 2: back of the head with a piper.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Remember that guy from the last was it last week
- 26:44Speaker 1: or no, was the week before? And he the guy
- 26:46Speaker 1: that was the roommate and he's like, hey, my roommate
- 26:48Speaker 1: isn't Then he got somehow died and with it by
- 26:52Speaker 1: getting hit by a train.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Little so investigators they bring in Giovanni to interview him
- 27:01Speaker 1: and he denies any involvement. He pretty much stops talking
- 27:06Speaker 1: to police like right away. But Joe's information alone, like
- 27:10Speaker 1: someone just coming up and saying, hey, I know this
- 27:12Speaker 1: guy did this is not enough to obtain an arrest
- 27:14Speaker 1: warrant for a capital murder case. So unfortunately they have
- 27:18Speaker 1: to let him go because they have no other evidence
- 27:19Speaker 1: on him except for what Joe said. Now at this
- 27:23Speaker 1: point they're like, Okay, we've talked to him, he knows
- 27:25Speaker 1: we're on him. Is he gonna run? And funny enough
- 27:29Speaker 1: that night they see him packing up his house and
- 27:31Speaker 1: stuff like that, but he was actually just moving. They
- 27:33Speaker 1: found out his whole family was moving to the Laredo,
- 27:35Speaker 1: Texas and it just had to be. It was like
- 27:37Speaker 1: weird timing that that was the day they were moving. Anyway,
- 27:40Speaker 1: So he did settle in Laredo, Texas with his family.
- 27:44Speaker 1: They kind of kept an eye on him and as
- 27:46Speaker 1: they tried to find other evidence or anything else on him.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Really yeah, and investigators really felt that this was the
- 27:54Speaker 1: person who did it, but they were afraid that he
- 27:57Speaker 1: was actually just gonna get away with this because they
- 27:59Speaker 1: did not have enough evidence to arrest him or prosecute
- 28:03Speaker 1: him or anything. Well, they'd get another break just a
- 28:06Speaker 1: couple months later when Giovanni's wife calls them up out
- 28:09Speaker 1: of the blue saying that he had assaulted her, threatened
- 28:12Speaker 1: her with a gun, and threatened to kill her and
- 28:14Speaker 1: her children. And so they're like, god, this is like, yes,
- 28:20Speaker 1: we knew he was bad news.
- 28:21Speaker 2: So they weren't Giovanni's children, they were just her children.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Well, they were their children. She's at that point she's like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: fuck this motherfucker, they're not. So she also the other
- 28:32Speaker 1: important thing she had stated was that she knew that
- 28:34Speaker 1: he had killed Amber because he had told her. So
- 28:36Speaker 1: now we got not one person with this guy telling
- 28:39Speaker 1: her that telling him that he killed Amber and did
- 28:42Speaker 1: this robbery. Now we have two.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Now that investigators have two into is saying that Giovanni
- 28:48Speaker 2: had confessed to them about killing Amber. They were able
- 28:52Speaker 2: to get an arrest warrant issued for murder as the.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Part of the other thing with them. Part of the
- 28:58Speaker 1: other key element of those witness testimonies, they did know
- 29:03Speaker 1: details about the case that only the person who committed
- 29:09Speaker 1: the crime. So it was it was like these weren't
- 29:13Speaker 1: just like, oh, I just think he killed him or
- 29:14Speaker 1: whatever he said that they had information.
- 29:17Speaker 3: About what went on, which is why they keep information
- 29:21Speaker 3: about crime scene certain details.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yes, although I'm still on the argument that that one
- 29:27Speaker 1: where that lady at the Unsolved Mysteries where she disappeared
- 29:31Speaker 1: at the hair swan released it. Okay, but we all
- 29:33Speaker 1: know that freaking weirdo as ex husband did it, or
- 29:38Speaker 1: it was the husband at the time. If you haven't
- 29:40Speaker 1: heard that, I think we did that one on probably shoot.
- 29:42Speaker 3: The pooh maybe yeah, well possibly.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I can't remember anyways, but yes, that's definitely that one,
- 29:48Speaker 1: they should just release everything because we're the person who
- 29:51Speaker 1: did it is already did.
- 29:53Speaker 2: When investigators police went to pick up Giovanni, he was gone.
- 29:57Speaker 2: They received information that he had pled to Ma Mexico.
- 30:01Speaker 2: So with the help of other agencies, they got some
- 30:03Speaker 2: leads on where he was actually located in Mexico.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yeah, because if you're not familiar with the area, Laredo,
- 30:08Speaker 1: Texas is right by the border, so it would not
- 30:12Speaker 1: be difficult to just to head on over there.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Now, with the help of the other agencies they got
- 30:18Speaker 2: the leads, they were able to bring him back to
- 30:20Speaker 2: the United States. They were very concerned about the lack
- 30:22Speaker 2: of physical evidence in the case that they had, so
- 30:25Speaker 2: they really only had this eyewitness testimony, not.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Eyewitness, well the not eyewitness, the witness testimonies, witness testimony
- 30:34Speaker 3: of him telling them about him saying that he confessed
- 30:38Speaker 3: to kill an amber.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yes, and at this point they had they were able
- 30:42Speaker 1: to during this time while they were looking for and everything,
- 30:45Speaker 1: they were able to get. So they had the the wifife,
- 30:49Speaker 1: the friend, and then they were also able to add
- 30:51Speaker 1: in the mom. He told the mom that he killed
- 30:53Speaker 1: her too, So now we have three going against him.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And I don't know. Maybe I don't know. I don't
- 31:01Speaker 1: know if she lived in Mexico and he went to
- 31:03Speaker 1: go see her and he told her, because I think
- 31:06Speaker 1: he went. So they said he went to family members
- 31:09Speaker 1: down there and she turned on him. I don't know,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and he told her what he did. It's just I mean,
- 31:14Speaker 1: he's running his mouth. He's not like, Okay, he is
- 31:16Speaker 1: a terrible human, like a terrible monster. But he's like
- 31:21Speaker 1: it's not like he's one of these serial killers that
- 31:24Speaker 1: just keeps that just hides it all he wants. He
- 31:26Speaker 1: doesn't know what to do with it, so he just
- 31:27Speaker 1: keeps telling everybody what he did, like he doesn't know,
- 31:31Speaker 1: like this isn't his normal, like mo o, like a
- 31:33Speaker 1: serial killer, you know, they keep it all like that.
- 31:35Speaker 1: You can be married to a serial killer.
- 31:37Speaker 2: M H STU.
- 31:40Speaker 1: No, you like, think about Dennis Rader. He's never gonna
- 31:43Speaker 1: tell anybody what he did, Like he's not gonna he
- 31:45Speaker 1: doesn't feel guilty about it or feel compelled to tell anybody.
- 31:49Speaker 1: But this guy, this was like a one off crime
- 31:51Speaker 1: for him, and so I think he just has to
- 31:54Speaker 1: tell somebody, you know what I'm saying, Like, I don't
- 31:57Speaker 1: think he was going to turn into like a serial
- 32:00Speaker 1: real killer or a person who was It wasn't like that,
- 32:05Speaker 1: So he's he had more of a normal human reaction
- 32:08Speaker 1: to doing something this awful. I can't believe that, which
- 32:11Speaker 1: was to tell people like, I have to get it
- 32:13Speaker 1: off my chest. I can't should have.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Gone to his priest. I'm not allowed to. They're not
- 32:18Speaker 2: supposed to tell the authorities, which it done, did in
- 32:20Speaker 2: the confessional.
- 32:20Speaker 1: So not to give this guy any credit. He's still
- 32:23Speaker 1: a monster or whatever. But I don't think that's why.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I think he was telling people it wasn't a normal
- 32:28Speaker 1: He didn't kill just to kill for.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Then the rail of it, Yes, to get away with it,
- 32:33Speaker 2: to see if he can get away with it.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 2: In August of two thousand and eight, they do bring
- 32:38Speaker 2: Giabonni in and they confront him about the charges. Surprisingly,
- 32:43Speaker 2: he starts to confess. He tells investigators that he did
- 32:46Speaker 2: not know Amber was going to be there, and that
- 32:49Speaker 2: Amber actually knew him, knew his name, and she would
- 32:53Speaker 2: recognize him immediately because he was an employee at another store.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so whenever he said, whenever he went in, she's Giovanni,
- 33:00Speaker 1: what are you doing here? And that's when he's like,
- 33:03Speaker 1: oh shit, I'm I'm about to rob somebody who recognized me,
- 33:07Speaker 1: and now I've got a new problem.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yes, but he said at this point he had already
- 33:13Speaker 2: begun the robbery, so he just went forward with it
- 33:16Speaker 2: and decided to suffocate her so she couldn't identify him.
- 33:20Speaker 2: With this confession, he was able to negotiate his sentence.
- 33:24Speaker 2: He agreed not to appeal his case, and he received
- 33:27Speaker 2: a life sentence with the possibility of parole after thirty years.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yes, so we're looking at twenty thirty eight, which the
- 33:35Speaker 1: family has vowed to as long as they're a lot
- 33:38Speaker 1: like this was a young person though, so he's gonna
- 33:40Speaker 1: be he could get out, yes and everything. So they
- 33:45Speaker 1: vowed as long.
- 33:45Speaker 2: As they're around another twelve years.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, until he's eligible for paroles. So he's in Texas too,
- 33:54Speaker 1: so we got to be careful.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I know. Well, we're gonna have to move then, yes,
- 33:58Speaker 2: from here in El Pasa, Yes, or.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I'll pass so home anyway, so he her family valves
- 34:05Speaker 1: are like, hey, we'll be there at the you know.
- 34:08Speaker 1: But unfortunately her parents are older, I mean obviously, like
- 34:12Speaker 1: they're older than he was. So eventually Unfortunately, no one's going.
- 34:15Speaker 2: To be able to advocate for the.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because she didn't have any siblings, So.
- 34:21Speaker 2: There are some cousins or aunts or uncles that they
- 34:23Speaker 2: were close.
- 34:23Speaker 1: To for someone that would still be alive to go
- 34:25Speaker 1: and argue for why he should not be let out
- 34:27Speaker 1: on Pearl and what he did. So hopefully he doesn't
- 34:30Speaker 1: get out.
- 34:30Speaker 2: But guy's going to come down to the prosecutors and
- 34:33Speaker 2: the investigators in the case that do they go.
- 34:35Speaker 1: And do they go and prison in a parole hearing.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I think they can, okay, but then they're getting older.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Too, yeah, I mean they're going to be retired.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm saying this guy is young, so he's going
- 34:46Speaker 1: to outlive, Yes, most likely all the people that could
- 34:49Speaker 1: go and argue why he should still be in prison. Yes,
- 34:52Speaker 1: So anyway, so hopefully he stays behind bars because he
- 34:55Speaker 1: is a cold blooded killer. But all right, and apparently
- 34:58Speaker 1: a terrible husband.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Been a father's yes, and son.
- 35:02Speaker 1: He was like abusive to his wife and threatened to
- 35:05Speaker 1: kill his children. So that's not good either. Just a
- 35:08Speaker 1: terrible human.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Being, but and a son. I mean mom is ready
- 35:10Speaker 2: to turn him in, so.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I know she's like fuck this guy just I would
- 35:14Speaker 1: turn such a good name too, such a good name.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I like that name gone away. Cool cool name. Anyways,
- 35:22Speaker 1: all right, Stude, do you have a y'all need?
- 35:25Speaker 2: Jesus of course I do. I even did a deep
- 35:28Speaker 2: dive on this. Oh god, well, I mean I look
- 35:31Speaker 2: some stuff up because the person that wrote the story,
- 35:36Speaker 2: I think they should have what do you want to say,
- 35:41Speaker 2: given me the details? I needed drink because they left
- 35:46Speaker 2: some out. Okay, carry you ready for Florida? Not Florida
- 35:52Speaker 2: woman offered sex. She offered to provide sex in exchange
- 36:00Speaker 2: for twenty five dollars and chicken McNuggets from McDonald's.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Oh not even chick fil a nuggets. Come on, that's a.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Florida Braidonton Harold, Florida. That's Florida, Florida.
- 36:18Speaker 1: It was chick fil a. I'd be like, maybe that's
- 36:19Speaker 1: a Texas thing or something. But McDonald's nuggets, Yeah, that's
- 36:24Speaker 1: a that's a Florida situation.
- 36:27Speaker 2: From the Bradenton Herald, The Bye Jessica de Leon May one,
- 36:33Speaker 2: twenty seventeen. This is an old story. Kara Manatee County,
- 36:39Speaker 2: a homeless Bradenton woman was charged with prostitution after she
- 36:44Speaker 2: agreed to perform a sexual act for twenty five dollars
- 36:48Speaker 2: and chicken McNuggets.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I wonder if it was the meal or just the
- 36:53Speaker 1: tin pack or maybe she was like if she was,
- 36:55Speaker 1: she needs to bring for the twenty they need to
- 36:57Speaker 1: bring for the twenty pack.
- 36:59Speaker 2: At least just step on the questions that I have
- 37:03Speaker 2: because I uh scouring the count.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I need to know the count. We can't be a
- 37:08Speaker 1: four pack valume menu.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I went through four or five stories on this to
- 37:13Speaker 2: find out if there was any information on what sized
- 37:16Speaker 2: chicken my gut?
- 37:17Speaker 1: What would the sauces she wanted on the side, I'd
- 37:19Speaker 1: like to know.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I just want to know how many pieces it was, if.
- 37:21Speaker 1: It was sweet and sour, I may be on board
- 37:23Speaker 1: a twenty piece sweet and sour maybe yes.
- 37:26Speaker 2: And then she made him go to Popeyes and get
- 37:28Speaker 2: the Marty Gral mustard dip for her chicken mcnugsey. Yes,
- 37:30Speaker 2: then maybe or the churches to get the creamy hallipen.
- 37:34Speaker 1: She thought, if she had done twenty five dollars and
- 37:36Speaker 1: the Popeyes black and tenders, those things are There was.
- 37:39Speaker 2: No black contenders and was there in twenty seventeen I
- 37:43Speaker 2: don't know, but it.
- 37:44Speaker 1: To in today's time. That's like, does everybody know how
- 37:49Speaker 1: expensive it is to get the black and tenders from Popeyes.
- 37:52Speaker 1: It's like to get like a six piece meal of
- 37:55Speaker 1: that or whatever, it's like fourteen dollars.
- 37:58Speaker 2: So for twenty five dollars and that meal, you would service.
- 38:03Speaker 1: No, I want the bigger pack. I want the eight
- 38:05Speaker 1: pack because it's like nineteen dollars.
- 38:06Speaker 2: So you would serve somebody for twenty five dollars and
- 38:09Speaker 2: an eight pack of chicken black and chicken.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Ten or some possibly that's now forty five dollars with
- 38:16Speaker 1: the extra Marti gross sauce. Yeah, forty five dollars at
- 38:19Speaker 1: that point. Look, yeah, no, I wouldn't do that the completion,
- 38:28Speaker 1: just go off with it. Oh my god, I'm a mother.
- 38:32Speaker 1: What is wrong with you?
- 38:35Speaker 2: Alex Dono, twenty two, was arrested at ten to fifteen
- 38:38Speaker 2: pm Tuesday in charge with prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Oh ten fifteen she was probably drunk. Yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 2: She is being held at the Manatee County Jail on
- 38:49Speaker 2: bonds totaling six hundred and twenty dollars. She walked out
- 38:53Speaker 2: of the Marathon gas station on Fourteenth Street in Bradenton
- 38:58Speaker 2: and unknowingly waved an undercovered detective with the Special the
- 39:03Speaker 2: Sheriff's Office of Special Investigations Division, who was talking to
- 39:07Speaker 2: another woman. According to an arrest report, the detective told
- 39:11Speaker 2: the other woman he was there to pick up do Reno,
- 39:14Speaker 2: and do Reno got into his car as the underco
- 39:17Speaker 2: undercover detective drove north on Fourteenth West.
- 39:21Speaker 1: These are some details, but not the important thing exactly,
- 39:25Speaker 1: Like nobody cares about these street names. What people want to.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Know is and they were driving north on fourteenth Street West.
- 39:33Speaker 1: The nugget count and the type of sauce, That's what
- 39:35Speaker 1: we want to know.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Why is fourteenth Street West drive going north and south?
- 39:40Speaker 1: I don't know, because it's the west side of fourteenth
- 39:43Speaker 1: Street that runs north and south.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Anyway, he told her that he wanted some moral sex,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and she agreed to do it for twenty five dollars.
- 39:51Speaker 2: As they briefly went back and forth on the price,
- 39:54Speaker 2: she finally agreed to perform the act for the twenty
- 39:57Speaker 2: five dollars and chicken McNuggets. Still no determination. Four piece,
- 40:05Speaker 2: ten piece?
- 40:06Speaker 1: Was it the meal? Was it supersized? What kind of
- 40:08Speaker 1: drink did you get, because let me tell you what
- 40:10Speaker 1: that diet coke or the regular coke at McDonald's really
- 40:13Speaker 1: hits to that crisp coat.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I know you remember when we got one a couple
- 40:18Speaker 2: of weeks ago and I accidentally slapped it.
- 40:22Speaker 1: He spilt it into the sink.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Kiss.
- 40:24Speaker 1: That's that was a day. We had multiple spills a day.
- 40:27Speaker 1: The five year old, she spilt her milk. The three
- 40:29Speaker 1: year old spilt his chocolate milk.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yeah, stew spilt his fountain drank from McDonald's. Yep, I
- 40:37Speaker 2: almost cried. The detective showed to Reno that he had
- 40:40Speaker 2: the cash, and he pulled over in the forty two
- 40:43Speaker 2: hundred block of fourteenth Street West. Great details there on
- 40:48Speaker 2: this story, with the exception again of nugget counts.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Okay, I think I starting to start about nugget counts.
- 40:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm going to beat this horse. It's been dead.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I'm just gonna kick it.
- 41:01Speaker 1: It is dead. He has now turned into nuggets. Sweet.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Well, anyway, this place that he pulled into, this is
- 41:06Speaker 2: where other detectives are waiting to take her into custody.
- 41:09Speaker 2: When do Reno's purse was searched just what.
- 41:11Speaker 1: We should be spending our time on fighting crimes to Seriously,
- 41:16Speaker 1: did you.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Let me get to the end of the store.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 41:18Speaker 2: When do Reno's purse was searched, detectives found two hypodermic needles,
- 41:23Speaker 2: several small baggies, a spoon, and a burnt glass pipe
- 41:26Speaker 2: consistent with either heroin or crack cocaine use. Just last month,
- 41:31Speaker 2: do Reno was placed on probation for three years after
- 41:35Speaker 2: she pleaded guilty to grand theft auto and possession of
- 41:39Speaker 2: drug paraphernalia.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Okay, well, I will argue she need to be picked
- 41:42Speaker 1: up because this is what this is the problem is
- 41:44Speaker 1: that the drugs only affect you until you start doing
- 41:48Speaker 1: crazy things like stealing cars, and then you run into
- 41:51Speaker 1: people and kill people that because you're under the influence
- 41:54Speaker 1: of drugs or whatever or alcohol. If she was just
- 41:58Speaker 1: trying to get the nuggets in the need then let
- 42:00Speaker 1: it go. But I don't like the your If you're
- 42:03Speaker 1: if you're doing drugs and alcohol and you start affecting
- 42:05Speaker 1: other people, you need to be locked up, yes, because
- 42:09Speaker 1: eventually you're gonna kill somebody or harm somebody. So it's
- 42:13Speaker 1: like drunk drivers. I don't understand why they keep letting them. Yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 1: he was fifty and now he's killed a family of four.
- 42:21Speaker 1: It's like, what what are we doing? Like those people
- 42:23Speaker 1: are not going to change. They have a problem. No
- 42:25Speaker 1: matter what you do, they'll figure out a way around it.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And they'll still get.
- 42:27Speaker 2: In a car, have somebody bath lizer, yes.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Because all they got to do, or they could just
- 42:32Speaker 1: get into a different car, like take someone, take someone
- 42:35Speaker 1: else's car, like and do these things. So yeah, anyways,
- 42:40Speaker 1: all right, well that was our y'all need Jesus in
- 42:43Speaker 1: our case out of Texas again. Apologies for it being late,
- 42:46Speaker 1: but we are trying our best.
- 42:49Speaker 2: We don't We're just what we got.
- 42:52Speaker 1: We are.
- 42:53Speaker 2: We are.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Heading into a weekend of deep freeze. If you're in
- 42:59Speaker 1: the South, you're probably part of it.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Actually, it's all over, it's everywhere. I said, two hundred
- 43:03Speaker 2: and thirty five million people will be affected by this, Okay,
- 43:05Speaker 2: so yes, I mean if you're in California joining the
- 43:07Speaker 2: weather or there in Malibu or.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Whatever, like fuck you.
- 43:10Speaker 2: But anyways, but I don't know how many Malibu listeners
- 43:13Speaker 2: we have.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I don't think we have any Malibu listen. That's a
- 43:16Speaker 1: little they're cup of tomatoes.
- 43:19Speaker 2: No, it's a little too upscale for us, promise.
- 43:23Speaker 1: And if we did have them, we lost them when
- 43:24Speaker 1: we talked about how many how many chicken nugg as
- 43:27Speaker 1: we would exchange for sex sex. Okay, so anyways, but
- 43:32Speaker 1: so we're hoping to get another since we don't can't
- 43:34Speaker 1: do anything in the house, like we're just gonna be
- 43:36Speaker 1: stuck in the house. We're hoping to get an episode
- 43:38Speaker 1: recorded for next week, but no promises, but that's what
- 43:41Speaker 1: we're trying to do because originally we were gonna skip
- 43:43Speaker 1: next week, but now since we'll be on vacation, but
- 43:46Speaker 1: we might be able to do it now because we're
- 43:49Speaker 1: literally going to be stuck in this house from like starting,
- 43:51Speaker 1: which is gonna be rough for us because we've already
- 43:53Speaker 1: been stuck in the house. Yes, we didn't do any
- 43:55Speaker 1: of our Yeah, we didn't do any of our activities
- 43:58Speaker 1: this week. We didn't go to library time, we didn't
- 43:59Speaker 1: go a little Jim the one, didn't go to a
- 44:02Speaker 1: speech therapy. So they have literally been in this house
- 44:05Speaker 1: sick for a week now and now we're fixing to
- 44:08Speaker 1: go into two days of lockdown because it's gonna be
- 44:12Speaker 1: like ten degrees outside so hopefully we don't lose power.
- 44:16Speaker 1: We are on the we're on some sort of our neighborhoods
- 44:19Speaker 1: hooked to something important, so we usually don't lose powers.
- 44:23Speaker 2: What I've been told, yeah, I think we've got a
- 44:25Speaker 2: fire station or something and.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Then something else that's important for infrastructure. I can't remember
- 44:29Speaker 1: what they said, but there's a fire station in something else. Anyways,
- 44:33Speaker 1: so we're hoping to get one recorded for next week
- 44:36Speaker 1: to go out on time, and I think that's it.
- 44:40Speaker 1: We're gonna try to record a y'all need Jesus or
- 44:42Speaker 1: not y'all need Jesus Shoot the Pooh tomorrow. That'll be tomorrow,
- 44:46Speaker 1: which is Saturday. That will if you're on Patreon listening
- 44:50Speaker 1: to this right now, that's tomorrow. We're gonna try to
- 44:53Speaker 1: get one of those out for you. So anyways, all right, well.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Okay, what I got something?
- 45:00Speaker 1: Okay?
- 45:00Speaker 2: You always ask me if I got anything. You always
- 45:02Speaker 2: expect me to say.
- 45:02Speaker 1: No, okay, do you have any things?
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah, just so nobody has to look it up. Today's
- 45:07Speaker 2: prices in the Year of Our Lord twenty twenty six
- 45:10Speaker 2: four piece chicken McNugget three dollars thirty nine cents one
- 45:13Speaker 2: hundred and seventy calories. Win six piece chicken nuggets. Just
- 45:17Speaker 2: the nuggets is four thirty nine. Twenty piece chicken nugget
- 45:21Speaker 2: nine ninety nine, and a forty piece nugget is nineteen nine.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Oh, forty piece, you got to go for the forty piece.
- 45:27Speaker 2: And a ten piece nugget is five. Did they have
- 45:29Speaker 2: a forty piece back in two thousand and seven?
- 45:31Speaker 1: No, I think that we've that's our supersized lifestyles right now. Well, yeah,
- 45:37Speaker 1: most I remember back then was a ten piece and
- 45:38Speaker 1: it was supposed to be like a family share thing.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Now we're under like twenty and forty piece.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Well, if you're carrious, the forty piece chicken McNuggets is
- 45:45Speaker 2: sixteen hundred and fifty calories. If you eat all forty p.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Well, you could just eat that all day, But didn't
- 45:50Speaker 1: you'd have the factor in sauces. You might still be Oh,
- 45:53Speaker 1: you could eat just that all day with the sauces
- 45:55Speaker 1: in a diet coke and still be probably in a
- 45:57Speaker 1: calorie deficit.
- 45:59Speaker 2: You think, yeah, thinks, just just grays on them all day.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Just keep microwaving chicken chicken McNuggets are I will I
- 46:10Speaker 1: will partake occasionally, but I have gone further and further
- 46:13Speaker 1: away from But if you do eat them, they have
- 46:14Speaker 1: to be fresh. You can't be I can't do that.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Not I got an hour later.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I gotta have tendies. I gotta know it's real chicken. Yes,
- 46:22Speaker 2: I don't know what these nugget things are, the Wendy's
- 46:24Speaker 2: or the McDonald's, not ever anything that just breaks apart.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I always was very skeptical. Skeptical at least McDonald's. I
- 46:32Speaker 1: felt like they shaped them into that form. But like
- 46:34Speaker 1: the Burger king chicken fries and like, h no, I
- 46:36Speaker 1: don't want that. So I haven't into a burger in
- 46:40Speaker 1: you forever. They've really gone downhill. So everything's gone downhill
- 46:44Speaker 1: in the prices.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Of water Burger. I love water Burger that pound. Yep,
- 46:48Speaker 2: we got a new water Burger. Open it close as
- 46:50Speaker 2: we do.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on, all right, so we will see
- 46:54Speaker 1: you next time. Buy Everyone say by ste.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Bad lick to be superstitious. Mind nothing else. It's working,
- 47:08Speaker 2: and my hand is really hurting, and I'm sick of
- 47:14Speaker 2: this worry bout things. I cambage
