- 0:19Speaker 1: Return to Glory podcast runners Armadiky Austin Rose to Code
- 0:23Speaker 1: of Free Tech, Back again the whole group at one time,
- 0:28Speaker 1: with our pleasure to announce the number six Uster Sports
- 0:34Speaker 1: podcast via feed Spot. Thank you a news agarwall In
- 0:39Speaker 1: the number two Nebraska News podcast.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Wow, we did it. Remember when they were just nearly
- 0:47Speaker 2: number twenty six on the list?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Look at us now, all the hard work finally pays off.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I believe it was number I don't know, like sixteen
- 0:57Speaker 1: of the Nebraska podcasts in general. We did it. We're
- 1:03Speaker 1: we're climbing the ranks.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I think it's really the addition of Dak that's really
- 1:08Speaker 4: what bumped us up, you know where we're just lacking
- 1:12Speaker 4: that zip that Dak brings.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's also Oklahoma Takes you guys have been missing.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you know. I think the big reason is that
- 1:22Speaker 1: we were able to bring someone on to co host
- 1:26Speaker 1: the podcast that was not a Nebraska fan at all,
- 1:28Speaker 1: complete Oklahoma fan and completely convert him into a Husker fan.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And that must just really impress the people and the listeners.
- 1:38Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:41Speaker 5: I will Maathon I joined the podcast. I've definitely moved
- 1:43Speaker 5: more towards Alaska fan.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You're you're more a Husker. I mean you name more
- 1:48Speaker 1: players this last year we've gotten you. You know you
- 1:50Speaker 1: you say go bigg retd accidentally instead of Boomer sooner.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Now you do watch. I believe you watched more of
- 1:56Speaker 1: the Nebraska games this year than Oklahoma games. Got You
- 2:00Speaker 1: did mit that Nebraska would beat Oklahoma and a head
- 2:03Speaker 1: to head neutral sight game.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I take that, Mac.
- 2:06Speaker 1: There's just a lot going for you here. And on
- 2:08Speaker 1: top of that, we stole one of your linebackers into
- 2:11Speaker 1: Sa McColo.
- 2:12Speaker 5: No, but before I joined this podcast, I did not
- 2:15Speaker 5: care at all about the Huskers, not not one bit.
- 2:17Speaker 3: But you guys conferd of me. Who would have thought it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Is all recorded live? We'll make some docu, a docu series.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:31Speaker 1: We have a lot to get through today, very busy
- 2:35Speaker 1: time of the year. Football seems to never stop with
- 2:39Speaker 1: new breaking news. And our basketball team. We got some
- 2:43Speaker 1: volleyball news, we got some other random stuff, NBA trade deadline,
- 2:47Speaker 1: a lot of topics. We're gonna breathe through them in
- 2:49Speaker 1: a new way tonight and we're gonna do a little
- 2:53Speaker 1: random topic generator and that's gonna lead us in the
- 2:58Speaker 1: direction of where we go. So once I figure out
- 3:05Speaker 1: how to share my screen, here there we go, Here
- 3:11Speaker 1: we go. I wish we could do it a red
- 3:12Speaker 1: but the February third or turned to Glory headlines topic
- 3:17Speaker 1: number one. Oh great, this is one that Dak and
- 3:21Speaker 1: Austin probably aren't gonna be too familiar with. What I
- 3:25Speaker 1: meant by this, Matt rule selling progress, and Dak's response
- 3:32Speaker 1: was something to do with the spring game, so we'll
- 3:34Speaker 1: start there. The spring game not happening, at least not
- 3:42Speaker 1: the way it's supposed or has in the past, Rule
- 3:46Speaker 1: mentioning that he does not want to give eyes to
- 3:51Speaker 1: opposing coaches for free and just put it out there
- 3:55Speaker 1: for people to come and snatch up whoever ends up
- 3:58Speaker 1: not playing or even still playing in it for the
- 4:02Speaker 1: fall thoughts.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I mean, it makes sense. I'm assuming they will do
- 4:09Speaker 2: some sort of fan event.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I can't imagine nothing's gonna happen because that's just a
- 4:14Speaker 4: lot of money to not get for free, basically. But
- 4:18Speaker 4: I mean, realistically, that's we had people get hurt, and
- 4:21Speaker 4: then you had people to go out there and look
- 4:23Speaker 4: good that you knew weren't going to play, but they
- 4:24Speaker 4: were getting action. Because it's a scrimmage, and then teams
- 4:29Speaker 4: are probably just recruiting them to transfer in the off season,
- 4:31Speaker 4: which going forward, you don't really want.
- 4:34Speaker 2: This year, it was like, Okay, well, we have a
- 4:36Speaker 2: lot of bodies that we could lose. But I'm not
- 4:40Speaker 2: upset by it.
- 4:42Speaker 5: No, I think I think a lot of programs are
- 4:46Speaker 5: going to start to fall behind this. I think I
- 4:49Speaker 5: talking Mount Class can't stay back. I think they already
- 4:51Speaker 5: do that. They don't have a spring game anymore. I
- 4:54Speaker 5: don't know if other programs get too. But but the
- 4:57Speaker 5: main thing is that actually pissed me off because that
- 4:59Speaker 5: is one of my favorite days of the here.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I was gonna say, quit quit bullshitting around that.
- 5:03Speaker 5: I'm actually based off because that is nothing to do
- 5:08Speaker 5: with football. One of my top tier days the year
- 5:11Speaker 5: in Nebraska. Just just the atmosphere around town. It's it's
- 5:15Speaker 5: awesome middle spring.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Usually nice weather, and it's fun to have a football
- 5:21Speaker 1: Saturday in the spring. I will say that there's been
- 5:25Speaker 1: a ton of people talking about potential replacement events that
- 5:29Speaker 1: can still bring people to Lincoln half kind of that
- 5:33Speaker 1: same feel. I've heard the idea of even just trying
- 5:35Speaker 1: to have some sort of unofficial like pro day type
- 5:40Speaker 1: of events with players. I doubt Rule will do that.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Given a strong take on it, here's my thought. I
- 5:48Speaker 1: love it from the schematic, the coaching. It makes total sense,
- 5:54Speaker 1: it really does. And you have to stay ahead of
- 5:58Speaker 1: stuff like this when it is this world is crazy
- 6:03Speaker 1: that these players and coaches are living in and why
- 6:07Speaker 1: give someone else an opportunity out there for for what?
- 6:11Speaker 1: To please?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Who?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Right?
- 6:13Speaker 1: The fans to please with the code of free tags
- 6:16Speaker 1: of the world. Who just want to have a Saturday
- 6:17Speaker 1: darty in the spring, Like, that's why, that's why we're
- 6:20Speaker 1: having a spring game. So I like it, Like I
- 6:24Speaker 1: think it's, you know, pretty bold to go out and do.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But I'm I'm with you. A case State did something
- 6:29Speaker 1: similar last year where they're like, we don't need to
- 6:31Speaker 1: do one. They weren't as publicly spoken about it, but
- 6:36Speaker 1: I completely agree. Until this whole transfer portal inn Il
- 6:40Speaker 1: drama gets figured out, I don't I don't mind it
- 6:44Speaker 1: one bit and I actually in favor of it.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Got me excited about it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That's not what this topic was supposed to be about. Uh,
- 6:56Speaker 1: but I I like to take on it. Here's what's
- 7:01Speaker 1: selling progress. And I heard this in a different podcast
- 7:03Speaker 1: and specifically Matt Rule and in general, what a head
- 7:08Speaker 1: coach's job is. When you're speaking to the public about
- 7:13Speaker 1: your team, about your players, your job is to sell
- 7:17Speaker 1: progress at every point while you're the head coach. Like that,
- 7:22Speaker 1: to me, I think is a very true statement for
- 7:26Speaker 1: any a head coach at any level, whether you're speaking
- 7:30Speaker 1: to the media daily or never, like, your job is
- 7:35Speaker 1: to everybody involved, whether it be the fans of players,
- 7:39Speaker 1: the donors, you're selling that you are making progress as
- 7:44Speaker 1: a head coach, no matter what your record is. And
- 7:48Speaker 1: when it comes to that, I guess, how do you
- 7:50Speaker 1: guys evaluate Matt Rule.
- 7:54Speaker 3: In that area?
- 7:56Speaker 1: Uh?
- 8:00Speaker 4: I guess I'd say he's been pretty successful. We've gotten
- 8:05Speaker 4: a five star quarterback in the last two years, and
- 8:13Speaker 4: I think for the most part, even last like, even
- 8:17Speaker 4: though our record really wasn't that much better, I don't
- 8:19Speaker 4: think there's that many calls of like, oh my gosh,
- 8:22Speaker 4: like this team is worse oft than it was before.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I could be wrong on that, but I feel like
- 8:28Speaker 2: he actually does a pretty good job.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I mean, you hear him all the time, Samer. We're
- 8:35Speaker 5: moving the right direction, after which which it's every coach
- 8:40Speaker 5: you can say that, you're not gonna say we suck.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I think he really loves to hype up.
- 8:48Speaker 5: His portal players that come in. That's the main thing
- 8:50Speaker 5: I think about it, Like every portal player comes in.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I feel like he says, oh, yeah, he's gonna be
- 8:55Speaker 5: great for.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Us, and.
- 8:59Speaker 3: You got to, like you said, you hype up the
- 9:03Speaker 3: media too.
- 9:03Speaker 5: But I feel like when you go in these press
- 9:05Speaker 5: commons hop on your team too, thinking that you have
- 9:07Speaker 5: a chance to even you know it might be true
- 9:09Speaker 5: and not be true.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Well that you said it every I mean every coach.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It is supposed to say it, right, I mean what
- 9:17Speaker 1: you're not as a coach. You're not gonna go out
- 9:19Speaker 1: and say, well we got Joe Schmo and yeah we're
- 9:23Speaker 1: not super excited about him, but glad we got him.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You're not gonna say that. So yeah, it's your job.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And and.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I think Rule does do a fair job of selling
- 9:33Speaker 1: his case. Now here's my here's the counterpoint in the
- 9:38Speaker 1: conversation around this that I think is fascinating As a
- 9:42Speaker 1: Husker fan. Husker fan base in the media is very
- 9:46Speaker 1: easy to sell to. We are like those people that
- 9:49Speaker 1: walk into a used car salesman and right away. They're
- 9:53Speaker 1: gonna try to oversell you a car for two thousand
- 9:55Speaker 1: dollars more than it's worth, and we're gonna be like,
- 9:56Speaker 1: oh yeah, that is awesome, great, I am on top
- 9:59Speaker 1: of it. Give me that sucker, Okay, that we are
- 10:02Speaker 1: the kings of eating and drinking and buying whatever you
- 10:09Speaker 1: put down. For example, let's look at the Scott Frost era.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Everything that Scott Frost did sold progress up until the
- 10:20Speaker 1: on side kick at Northwestern probably was when everybody.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Was like, uh man.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And so that's what coaches do in Nebraska, Mike Riley,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I don't, he really not. But you sell progress, right,
- 10:35Speaker 1: You sell what you're doing, what you're building, and you
- 10:38Speaker 1: can do it in a numerous ways. You can do
- 10:40Speaker 1: it by talking about players, talking about your team. You
- 10:43Speaker 1: can do it on the decisions you make with your team,
- 10:46Speaker 1: who's starting, making changes to the system, the scheme, to
- 10:51Speaker 1: the coaching staff. Okay, all of that sells progress, to
- 10:56Speaker 1: the media, to the fans. Rules doing that and while
- 11:01Speaker 1: people say, oh, man rule is such a good quote
- 11:03Speaker 1: unquote salesman, or he's such a he's such a good
- 11:06Speaker 1: job of speaking and communicating and getting people to buy in,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and that is awesome, great, But is that what progress is?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Is that what we're defining his progress as looking at
- 11:17Speaker 1: the transfer portal this year and going, oh man, which
- 11:19Speaker 1: we did, I believe with this, With this now we
- 11:22Speaker 1: won't get into the transfer portal, but I think we're
- 11:24Speaker 1: one of the top classes now as far as who
- 11:28Speaker 1: has come in are we We're just saying, yep, that's progress.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think to a lot of people, they that's what
- 11:35Speaker 1: we just that's what we do.
- 11:36Speaker 3: That's why that.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Banner's almost close to the rafters for the off season
- 11:40Speaker 1: of twenty twenty five. I'm gonna say it, and I
- 11:45Speaker 1: didn't do it last year because I got on the
- 11:47Speaker 1: hype train a little bit there towards the end.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I but I held off.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I held off for a long time. Progress needs to
- 11:58Speaker 1: be seen and shown.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And I think that that's how good he is. He
- 12:02Speaker 2: had you at one place of last year. Ten wins
- 12:05Speaker 2: is the floor? You said that.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Last year during the season. I did during the season
- 12:11Speaker 1: that I was gonna say, not in the off season.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I really didn't get myself there, but that but it
- 12:17Speaker 1: is that is that is what he did and what
- 12:20Speaker 1: and I will say, I mean what fans do that.
- 12:22Speaker 1: That's your job and it's easy to do it Nebraska.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So while I think a lot of this talk in
- 12:30Speaker 1: the off season that we will continue to do, it's
- 12:32Speaker 1: February third, Let's be real.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Its February third for.
- 12:35Speaker 1: The football team. And especially this week, I've heard a
- 12:41Speaker 1: lot of people be very excited about some of these
- 12:44Speaker 1: changes and all this new people on the staff and
- 12:48Speaker 1: some that we're gonna get to today. Let's see how
- 12:53Speaker 1: long we can hold out on this selling progress thing.
- 12:56Speaker 1: To me, let's see the progress and let's see it.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Let's not buy it yet. Let's let's see it before
- 13:01Speaker 1: we buy it. But I think that was an interesting
- 13:04Speaker 1: point is people are are so impressed at how well
- 13:07Speaker 1: rule is doing by selling everything. He's doing a fine job.
- 13:12Speaker 1: But don't get me wrong, but like every coach does that,
- 13:15Speaker 1: it's just that we soak it up more than other
- 13:17Speaker 1: people do.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I mean, he's really good at explaining every point that
- 13:22Speaker 3: he makes.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But is he not supposed to? My point is is
- 13:26Speaker 1: he not supposed to like what else you're supposed to say?
- 13:28Speaker 3: He just likes no, that's good, Yeah, no, he really
- 13:31Speaker 3: likes to want to talk. But so he's.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Now it can all be bone smoke everyhere who knows,
- 13:38Speaker 5: but you're gonna, he's gonna. He's gonna say every movie
- 13:43Speaker 5: that has happened the off season been great. And I
- 13:45Speaker 5: already saw one one has for Twitter account sweet that
- 13:48Speaker 5: you already won the offseason.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So I've seen that floating the past few days. It's
- 13:52Speaker 1: why I wanted to bring it up. Okay, topic two,
- 14:02Speaker 1: here we go.
- 14:03Speaker 3: I love it.
- 14:03Speaker 1: We're transitioning right into Dylan Royola's weight. The one big
- 14:11Speaker 1: check box item that I have for this offseason is
- 14:16Speaker 1: to get Dylan Rayola to drop some lbs. He was
- 14:21Speaker 1: at the dunk contest at halftime of the Illinois game,
- 14:25Speaker 1: not dunking, but there in his jersey. Man, that thing
- 14:32Speaker 1: is height, and I'm you guys are the only one
- 14:36Speaker 1: that knows. I'm just saying. We talked about his lack
- 14:40Speaker 1: of mobility already, and we knew he wasn't the most
- 14:45Speaker 1: slim dude last year even but for our team, and
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'll say it, for a lot of these teams that
- 14:52Speaker 1: were in the Culturable Playoff, the super Bowl, in the
- 14:58Speaker 1: NFL playoffs, they have a quarterback that I'm not gonna
- 15:01Speaker 1: say is Lamar Jackson. But his mobile and I believe
- 15:04Speaker 1: I talked about that the last podcast. They don't have
- 15:06Speaker 1: to be running first quarterbacks, but they have to be
- 15:09Speaker 1: able to scramble and use quarterback runs when needed, at
- 15:15Speaker 1: least to the level that Drew Aller is able to
- 15:17Speaker 1: do at Penn State. Like, at least get to that level.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's not much, but Ryol isn't right.
- 15:22Speaker 3: That's not there.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And he did a run a couple of times, but
- 15:27Speaker 1: he's not He's overweight. He is overweight for a quarterback.
- 15:33Speaker 1: If he wants to be like Patrick Mahomes, you got
- 15:36Speaker 1: to re aluding to lbs. That's all I gotta say.
- 15:39Speaker 1: That's my one mission. You're gonna see this topic on
- 15:42Speaker 1: here every couple of weeks because they're gonna keep calling
- 15:44Speaker 1: it out until we see it, and it might not
- 15:47Speaker 1: be we see it till August, but just gonna keep
- 15:49Speaker 1: calling it out. We're gonna be nutritionists here.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I say, I don't know, I'm not super worried about it.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Uh, you know, come season kickoff and it's looking like this,
- 16:04Speaker 4: maybe I'll be more concerned. But February, I feel like
- 16:08Speaker 4: at an athlete level, with the level of nutritions and
- 16:10Speaker 4: people watching you like you can fluctuate, wait quite a bit,
- 16:15Speaker 4: and you do want to be a little bit thicker.
- 16:17Speaker 4: I think when you're offensive line foot and you get
- 16:20Speaker 4: blasted like they do.
- 16:24Speaker 3: The like you said about running quarterbacks.
- 16:27Speaker 5: The only game I can really remember him using his
- 16:28Speaker 5: legs much as Ahow State, he might beat the beat
- 16:32Speaker 5: the champs right there.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Like I don't think.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I don't think it's his legs. I think it's his
- 16:38Speaker 2: apprehension to run. That's wheahy, he's with his runs. He
- 16:40Speaker 2: just waits too long before he pulls it.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah he's slow. He's slow.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not quick. He's definitely not quick.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah negative rushing yards in high school too, he's not.
- 16:50Speaker 1: He has never known how to run, wind or run
- 16:52Speaker 1: and physically able to run. He isn't a lot of
- 16:57Speaker 1: work there and he as far as being agile out
- 17:00Speaker 1: and being able to step up in the pocket and
- 17:03Speaker 1: do all. I just think there needs to be about
- 17:05Speaker 1: twenty LB's lost.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Maybe more man now that Jersey was looking really snug.
- 17:11Speaker 3: But but yeah, he's not.
- 17:15Speaker 5: All you need to dudes have the threat of him
- 17:18Speaker 5: being able to run, Like Ohio State left the field
- 17:19Speaker 5: so light up and he had to run.
- 17:21Speaker 3: You just need a quarterback that at least has a
- 17:23Speaker 3: threat at it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Mahomes isn't fit in. Mahomes is not Mahomes got a
- 17:29Speaker 1: dad bod.
- 17:30Speaker 3: He's not lightning quick, but he just.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Get a Mahomes body. Like, if you want to be
- 17:34Speaker 1: like this, just look like him. But you look like Mahomes.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You gotta lose a little bit of weight, like just
- 17:39Speaker 1: you have to. And if you want to do that,
- 17:40Speaker 1: then do it please, like follow the weight pattern too.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I think that only can help us. I don't think
- 17:46Speaker 1: it can hurt us. I think it's important to do that.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Well, we just lost a listener, Dylan. Yep, Dylan.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I think they're being too harsh on you. Don't leave.
- 18:03Speaker 3: No, I no, I didn't think it was that bad.
- 18:05Speaker 5: And Veil I saw his jersey at the dun Con.
- 18:07Speaker 5: That's like, holy crap, it's a big old bully.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We'll talk about this several we're staying on football. This
- 18:14Speaker 1: is great transfer portal.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I can't.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Big one. I want to mention I can finally take
- 18:21Speaker 1: this hat off. We got another offensive lineman. Hell yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 1: Rocco Spindler from Notre Dame, so I can take off
- 18:28Speaker 1: a Notre Dame hat and put on my Nebraska hat
- 18:30Speaker 1: for Rocco Spindler.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Wow, what a moment those are to college commitment you
- 18:35Speaker 2: ever had, you know, or you're picking between hats that
- 18:39Speaker 2: we did in high school.
- 18:40Speaker 1: We only do this for offensive linemen. That's all we
- 18:43Speaker 1: do it for, because that's the most important position. Or
- 18:46Speaker 1: one of them pretty dang close to the top. And
- 18:49Speaker 1: he's a right guard, which is even more important I
- 18:52Speaker 1: think than the tackles. So props big get for the
- 18:56Speaker 1: Husker roll line. I believe that gives us to six
- 19:00Speaker 1: team current transfer portal people that have come in. I
- 19:07Speaker 1: heard this today that conservatively nine of them will be
- 19:13Speaker 1: starting for us come the fall. On the conservative side,
- 19:19Speaker 1: there could be more. But I think when you just
- 19:21Speaker 1: go down the list and look at I mean, guys,
- 19:23Speaker 1: when if you're making a depth chart right now, guys
- 19:25Speaker 1: that you're almost penciling or penning in the lock, you
- 19:27Speaker 1: can get to about nine, whether that be special teams
- 19:31Speaker 1: or on the offense or defense. First eleven. That's saying something.
- 19:37Speaker 1: We're obviously in a world where that's going to be
- 19:39Speaker 1: happening across the country. But nine is a lot, and
- 19:45Speaker 1: there's gonna be a lot of new names that we
- 19:47Speaker 1: just haven't seen. And that's the strategy. That's the path
- 19:52Speaker 1: that Nebraska football is taking. Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, some of
- 19:57Speaker 1: our other common rivals or teams that we think that
- 20:00Speaker 1: we're like aren't doing this. But we're trying to keep
- 20:03Speaker 1: pace with just the middle or to the top of
- 20:07Speaker 1: the Big ten and we're bringing new guys in. Is
- 20:11Speaker 1: it going to pay off? I don't know, no idea,
- 20:15Speaker 1: but that's what the staff has decided to do in
- 20:18Speaker 1: the portal, in the coaching portal, you want to talk
- 20:22Speaker 1: about that as well. I mean that's to come with
- 20:25Speaker 1: the Special Teams coordinator on a topic as well, But
- 20:29Speaker 1: just wanted to call out we got an a bunch
- 20:31Speaker 1: of linemen.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I mean, I think it's good.
- 20:34Speaker 4: It's a confirmation that, you know, there was some debate
- 20:41Speaker 4: where when Rule was first hired and Diana was first hired,
- 20:44Speaker 4: there were two approaches. There was the old school we're
- 20:46Speaker 4: going to develop all of our talent, we're going to
- 20:48Speaker 4: avoid the portal. There's a Dion approach.
- 20:50Speaker 2: We're going to do everyone through the portal.
- 20:54Speaker 4: And it's kind of a confirmation of like, Okay, Rules
- 20:56Speaker 4: saw the benefit of it, and he pivoted from what
- 20:59Speaker 4: he wanted to do, which shows a little bit of
- 21:01Speaker 4: the agile, you know, reactive flexibility that he has as
- 21:05Speaker 4: a coach, which is satisfying.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Good to see. Good gear.
- 21:11Speaker 5: I think I said that when we rank the best
- 21:14Speaker 5: or like most important positions in football and portal, I
- 21:17Speaker 5: think the offensive line easily is because you're not not
- 21:20Speaker 5: to worry about offensive line coming in. If you can
- 21:22Speaker 5: play your style you want to play, all all to
- 21:24Speaker 5: do is to do is block. If being block, he
- 21:26Speaker 5: can block anywhere, So I don't I've always thought that's
- 21:30Speaker 5: the most important spot for the portal.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You can block, you can block anywhere. Yeah, I like it.
- 21:40Speaker 1: We've talked about the line too, you'd like to have
- 21:43Speaker 1: We saw this year when when guys start getting hurt
- 21:46Speaker 1: or there's other issues going on, that depth can go
- 21:50Speaker 1: wayward pretty fast. So getting a couple of guys here
- 21:54Speaker 1: was big. I think if you look at our projected
- 21:57Speaker 1: offensive line, you know, RockA. Spimmler's most likely bringing it
- 22:00Speaker 1: right guard, Elijah Pritchett, the Alabama transfer left tackle, and
- 22:05Speaker 1: then you know the other three positions are kind of
- 22:07Speaker 1: up in.
- 22:07Speaker 3: The air right now.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Guys that were on the roster last year. You know,
- 22:10Speaker 1: you think that maybe Justin Evans Jenkins will be the center.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Sammy Sledge has gotten some good callouts from coach Rule,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and then you got Latowsky, who probably could get the
- 22:20Speaker 1: move to left guard. Turner Corcoran still around, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: he could end up any of these other three spots.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Teddy Phasca if he stays healthy, Gunner Gatula all guys
- 22:30Speaker 1: that are going to be in the mix here, and
- 22:32Speaker 1: it's up to the staff to figure out what the
- 22:35Speaker 1: best look is. But we have a pretty solid group,
- 22:38Speaker 1: I would say, top to bottom, better than what I
- 22:40Speaker 1: was feeling a couple of months ago when the portal
- 22:43Speaker 1: started and these offensive linemen aren't really out there. Well
- 22:46Speaker 1: we got two of them, and two from pretty big
- 22:49Speaker 1: time schools.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Now, how long can you transfer and then go play
- 22:58Speaker 5: for a school that same season?
- 22:59Speaker 3: Like, when does that end? I'll be completely honest.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I only play for one school in a calendar year
- 23:07Speaker 2: or a calendar season.
- 23:11Speaker 5: So you can transferll the way up to kick off,
- 23:13Speaker 5: I think, so really Okay, Yeah, I was wondering about
- 23:16Speaker 5: that with the spring games, so I just didn't know.
- 23:20Speaker 3: How long the how long do you do that.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I think that's partially why we're not having a spring
- 23:24Speaker 1: game is because they don't. I know people can't. There's
- 23:26Speaker 1: going to be a period post spring that players can
- 23:29Speaker 1: transfer and play. So okay, let's see if we get
- 23:35Speaker 1: off of football here, only one more football topic.
- 23:39Speaker 3: We're not No, no, I love it.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Mike Eckler, the new special teams coordinator hired this morning,
- 23:48Speaker 1: making our third new coordinator going into twenty twenty five.
- 23:54Speaker 1: From what it sounds like, and this could just be
- 23:57Speaker 1: the selling progress, but Mike Eckler is one of the
- 24:02Speaker 1: top special teams guys in the country as of recent years.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Eckler was with Bopolini back two thousand and nine, eight
- 24:13Speaker 1: nine ten here in Nebraska has moved around a ton,
- 24:17Speaker 1: won't list off all the schools, but most recently has
- 24:20Speaker 1: been at Tennessee the past four years. Here's the stat
- 24:23Speaker 1: that blows me away that I heard. In four years,
- 24:31Speaker 1: Mike Eckler's special teams at Tennessee combined have had one
- 24:37Speaker 1: punt or field goal pat blocked in four years. We
- 24:44Speaker 1: have a lot. We had ten this year ten.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Wow, we had had eleven block kicks.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I don't think about it.
- 24:57Speaker 2: So here are the stats that I have. So this
- 24:59Speaker 2: is ranking.
- 25:00Speaker 4: This is just last year's Tennessee ranking versus Nebraska. Hunt
- 25:04Speaker 4: returns Tennessee nine, Nebraska one hundred and ten. Net punt
- 25:08Speaker 4: return net punt yards Tennessee thirty four. Nebraska won twenty five.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Kickoff returns Tennessee fifty five, Nebraska ninety nine. Rankings intellegraball Yes,
- 25:19Speaker 4: kickoff return defense. This is the only one where Tennessee
- 25:22Speaker 4: was worse than Nebraska one to eight ninety one block
- 25:25Speaker 4: kick slash punts allowed Tennessee zero, Nebraska eleven. Block kicked
- 25:29Speaker 4: or block kick, block kicks or punts by defense Tennessee
- 25:33Speaker 4: to Nebraska too. Extra point percentage Tennessee one hundred percent,
- 25:37Speaker 4: Nebraska ninety seven percent. Field goal percentage Tennessee seventy seven percent,
- 25:41Speaker 4: Nebraska sixty eight percent.
- 25:43Speaker 3: So where did that eleven rank in nation? That's gotta
- 25:47Speaker 3: be high.
- 25:47Speaker 2: That's gotta be the worst.
- 25:49Speaker 3: YEAHID I did not know it was eleven. That's it's
- 25:53Speaker 3: not good like that.
- 25:54Speaker 1: The other stat that I heard that I think over
- 25:56Speaker 1: the four years and I thought was fascinating from Tennessee
- 26:01Speaker 1: is the punting yards total was like eleven or twelve
- 26:06Speaker 1: or thirteen hundred in total, and the punt yards against
- 26:10Speaker 1: how many punting return yards that have gone against you
- 26:13Speaker 1: was like less than two hundred in Tennessee's four years
- 26:17Speaker 1: while he was there. Again, just speaking to what he
- 26:21Speaker 1: does with this system, right, I don't know any of
- 26:23Speaker 1: the players at Tennessee has had the past four years,
- 26:26Speaker 1: but what he's able to get out out of his
- 26:28Speaker 1: special teams like that's impressive, and especially coming from or
- 26:33Speaker 1: comparing it to Nebraska, which we were, as we know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: horrific once again in the special teams department.
- 26:41Speaker 2: From your nick of the Woods, wasn't he or No,
- 26:43Speaker 2: I'm thinking where's he from? David City?
- 26:45Speaker 1: That's where he's from, David City. Yeah, he is Nebraska native.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So I got a good call out there on him
- 26:52Speaker 1: getting back to Nebraska, wanting to get back to Nebraska,
- 26:54Speaker 1: like I mentioned, moved around a lot, but this is
- 26:56Speaker 1: where his family's at closer to I think they live
- 26:58Speaker 1: in free montres Remont now.
- 27:02Speaker 2: So the off season, I.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Still like Rocko Spindler offensive lineman. I'm not saying he's
- 27:11Speaker 1: the biggest one either, but no, and it's it's huge
- 27:14Speaker 1: like it is. It is a it is a big
- 27:16Speaker 1: hot big time higher at the special team's coordinator position.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Now here's a question for you. Where did he start
- 27:24Speaker 5: his coaching career in nineteen ninety nine?
- 27:29Speaker 1: I do know he was at Oklahoma.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Here's a Texas three. He is a gradssistant ol you
- 27:35Speaker 3: know three.
- 27:37Speaker 2: But about North Texas.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Nope, he at Scott. He was a volunteer coach. That's
- 27:45Speaker 5: how you started coaching a Scott. I went from Scott
- 27:52Speaker 5: to straight the k State in two years.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Jack, how do you think coaches start though? Like? What?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Okay? I take that back, not case state, Kansas High School?
- 28:03Speaker 3: He was. He went from Scott, Kannas High School to
- 28:05Speaker 3: Oklahoma as.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Like grat assistants, So right, Like, how do you think
- 28:09Speaker 1: coaches started? That's what most to do.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess how you start.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I knew who was at OU. I thought you
- 28:17Speaker 1: were gonna mention that, but yep, okay, I think that's also.
- 28:23Speaker 1: That was funny how that worked out. Move on number
- 28:27Speaker 1: five here here we got a big juicy topic of
- 28:35Speaker 1: the season. Nebraska takes down Oregon on the road last night,
- 28:42Speaker 1: seventy seven to seventy one. The big win against Illinois
- 28:47Speaker 1: on Thursday at home in overtime. After we lose six
- 28:54Speaker 1: in a row, we're now back in the threeament talk
- 29:00Speaker 1: in the bubble talk. I looked at some stuff this morning.
- 29:03Speaker 1: We're back in a lot of people's brackets or first four,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and after beating Oregon, I just don't know what to
- 29:14Speaker 1: think right now about this team. I was at the
- 29:17Speaker 1: point where I thought maybe they might be thrown in
- 29:21Speaker 1: the towel after the way some of those games were going.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I mean, some of those losses were very bad losses.
- 29:29Speaker 1: But once again Fred Hoiberg says, nope, not yet. We're back.
- 29:35Speaker 1: We're here, and we're back in the conversation.
- 29:43Speaker 2: It's i because you look at the six losses. You know,
- 29:48Speaker 2: we kind of talked about this last week. They really
- 29:50Speaker 2: weren't as bad as it sounds.
- 29:53Speaker 4: You know, it was a three point loss, three point loss,
- 29:55Speaker 4: overtime loss, five point loss. You know, Perdue obviously steamrolled
- 30:00Speaker 4: in Wisconsin's team rollers. But four of the losses, it's like, Okay,
- 30:04Speaker 4: they really wasn't that bad. And then you look at
- 30:05Speaker 4: these two wins. Illinois had one of their main guys
- 30:08Speaker 4: out with Mono. Oregon's all a little bit of a funk.
- 30:11Speaker 4: We can't talk about it last week where if the
- 30:18Speaker 4: opponents don't shoot the three point well, we usually do alright,
- 30:22Speaker 4: and something that's the product of our defense. Our defense
- 30:25Speaker 4: looked really freaking good against Oregon. But it also i'd
- 30:30Speaker 4: partly do with like Oregon's just missing open shots too,
- 30:32Speaker 4: Like if the three is not falling for the other team,
- 30:35Speaker 4: we're gonna do alright. In Illinois and Oregon both had
- 30:37Speaker 4: rough night shooting, partly due to the defense, partly due
- 30:40Speaker 4: to just an off night.
- 30:44Speaker 5: And both your stars finally showed up about those games. Yes,
- 30:49Speaker 5: that's not big thing, Gary, Gary, what Bryce happened the
- 30:53Speaker 5: game thirty?
- 30:55Speaker 2: I know he had.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Eight the past two games.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's basically they don't play well, you guys
- 31:02Speaker 5: don't win, and and then you had other guys step up.
- 31:04Speaker 3: We're abably hit that shot the end.
- 31:05Speaker 5: I don't when he put that, I was like, no
- 31:07Speaker 5: shot in hell is going, But it did, it did,
- 31:11Speaker 5: And I think I think you find your center finally.
- 31:15Speaker 5: I don't think me is gonna play much at all. No,
- 31:18Speaker 5: I think Morgan is your starting center now from now on.
- 31:22Speaker 5: And the main thing is you actually played defense against
- 31:26Speaker 5: Oregon like you could. It looked like Creighton game. Defensively,
- 31:30Speaker 5: you actually you actually like that you little a little
- 31:32Speaker 5: bit of effort. Wisconsin game, that's the game I thought
- 31:35Speaker 5: they gave up. They just it looked like through in
- 31:37Speaker 5: the white towl, like you said. And another another thing
- 31:42Speaker 5: about the wing games, it wasn't like it was a
- 31:44Speaker 5: fluke win at at the end there you let wire
- 31:46Speaker 5: to wire the whole whole game from the jump.
- 31:51Speaker 1: What's been a little bit frustrating is we've had some
- 31:55Speaker 1: big leads against these teams, I mean Illinois and Oregon included.
- 31:59Speaker 2: And we let them get back we have and.
- 32:03Speaker 1: In it, I mean they cut it to four and
- 32:05Speaker 1: then Raleigh made the shot that you're talking about. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 1: I will say when it comes to the defensive side
- 32:15Speaker 1: of the ball, I'll just keep reiterating it. The scheme
- 32:21Speaker 1: that coach Lenzer and Hoiberg have installed is very much
- 32:26Speaker 1: an effort based defense, and it's the no middle and
- 32:30Speaker 1: a fource baseline when it's below the free throw line,
- 32:33Speaker 1: and then as the pass comes out, it is rotation, rotation, rotation.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And if you're not going with max effort and you
- 32:42Speaker 1: don't have the guys on the floor that are going
- 32:44Speaker 1: with max effort in that rotation, it is not going
- 32:47Speaker 1: to look well and you're gonna give up wide open threes.
- 32:49Speaker 1: And when you're playing in the Big Ten, they're gonna
- 32:51Speaker 1: make teams, they're gonna make some uncontested shots. When it
- 32:55Speaker 1: comes to Sam's playing so much more honestly correct. And
- 32:59Speaker 1: when it comes to contests, that's when you're talking and
- 33:02Speaker 1: and so again. You can simplify and say when teams
- 33:04Speaker 1: shoot well, our defense slash from teams, don't we look good? Yes,
- 33:07Speaker 1: but there's a level of contest to all of those
- 33:11Speaker 1: shots which comes from the effort and the rotations. And
- 33:13Speaker 1: you're nott On like Sam is playing a ton now
- 33:18Speaker 1: he started the past couple of games, and it's helping
- 33:22Speaker 1: us on the defensive side of the ball. There's a
- 33:24Speaker 1: reason why Juwan Gary never goes out of the ballgame
- 33:27Speaker 1: like he is needed on that side of the ball.
- 33:29Speaker 1: And I'm still and I still question it. You know,
- 33:33Speaker 1: where does Connor season fit as far as late game scenarios.
- 33:38Speaker 1: He obviously is a threat on the offensive side of
- 33:41Speaker 1: the ball. I think he ended with two points again
- 33:43Speaker 1: or four points against Oregon. I don't think he knocked
- 33:46Speaker 1: down a three. He's not a liability on that end,
- 33:50Speaker 1: but I think when it comes to just pure athleticism
- 33:52Speaker 1: and hustle, he's probably not ranking very high. And that's
- 33:54Speaker 1: why Raleigh Wooster is out there late in the game.
- 33:59Speaker 1: He I mean, if you watch Ralli, he is a defender,
- 34:02Speaker 1: like he that's what he does. Now Offensively, he's got
- 34:04Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of faults. But I think
- 34:09Speaker 1: it's that combination of players and who plays win.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I mean, Aaron Ewles is basically out. I mean, hell,
- 34:17Speaker 2: Aaron Ewills see the floor a little bit, but he's done.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I don't think we're gonna see Hi much the rest
- 34:22Speaker 2: of the year.
- 34:23Speaker 5: Which he's the most surprising player. I thought he's actually
- 34:25Speaker 5: gonna be a pretty decent player for him.
- 34:28Speaker 1: The hard part with Eulis is that Ulis is just
- 34:32Speaker 1: kind of a lesser version of Raleigh, Like, yeah, they're
- 34:35Speaker 1: the same player. They don't really have anything different about
- 34:38Speaker 1: the two, and it's a little bit of a drop
- 34:40Speaker 1: off when you come in. So you just when he's
- 34:41Speaker 1: out there, you're like, well, might just keep Ralei out
- 34:43Speaker 1: there fresh right.
- 34:46Speaker 4: I can't say I'm a huge either, which we talked
- 34:49Speaker 4: about last week too, but it worked the last two games.
- 34:55Speaker 4: We have nine games left i've we need to beat.
- 35:01Speaker 2: We have two ranked opponents left at this point, Maryland
- 35:05Speaker 2: and Michigan. I think if we win one, we win
- 35:09Speaker 2: one of those games and we go six and three,
- 35:13Speaker 2: maybe five and four, we get both those wins, we're in.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So that's the fun part of the season that we're at.
- 35:19Speaker 1: As you can, you can look at on two hands
- 35:22Speaker 1: how many games we have left and who they are.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And I saw a lot of stuff floating around on
- 35:27Speaker 1: Twitter that we're through the brute part of our schedule
- 35:31Speaker 1: and Maryland and Michigan both just entered the top twenty
- 35:34Speaker 1: five this week. I believe four of our home games
- 35:38Speaker 1: are five I think are all against teams that are
- 35:42Speaker 1: have a lower record conference record than we do. Like
- 35:46Speaker 1: we've played Michigan State, We've played Perdue, We've got through
- 35:50Speaker 1: those games. We've played UCLA, who's now back playing well.
- 35:55Speaker 1: So yeah, the schedule looks Fava Bowl. And we said
- 36:02Speaker 1: going five hundred and the Big ten that gets the
- 36:05Speaker 1: in and right now that be meaning finishing six and three,
- 36:10Speaker 1: that puts us in.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I really, I mean I think that strongly puts us in.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Five and four. I think probably good chance we're still in.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's shaky.
- 36:20Speaker 2: If I don't think we make it.
- 36:23Speaker 1: So I think five and five and four that's your
- 36:25Speaker 1: that's where you're at. So yeah, I think finishing at
- 36:30Speaker 1: or right below five hundred with some of these wins
- 36:33Speaker 1: puts the in and I think there's I mean, we're
- 36:36Speaker 1: we should do that right. The one that site that
- 36:38Speaker 1: I like to look at is teamerankings dot com because
- 36:41Speaker 1: got a lot of stats and breakdown and goes through
- 36:44Speaker 1: like the light most likely seed and your chances of
- 36:47Speaker 1: winning each game and all of that, and so they
- 36:50Speaker 1: right now have us I think sixty percent chance of
- 36:52Speaker 1: getting in and going eighteen and thirteen, going five and four,
- 36:56Speaker 1: like we mentioned, I think that's what we're shooting for.
- 37:00Speaker 1: But we have to treat it like one game at
- 37:02Speaker 1: a time. You know, two games ago you everybody would
- 37:05Speaker 1: have said not a chance in hell, nope, that we
- 37:07Speaker 1: were getting in. But then you go win, win, and
- 37:09Speaker 1: here here we are.
- 37:11Speaker 5: Yeah, well, the Illinois game is basically your season right there.
- 37:15Speaker 5: I mean, ill saidst podcast. If you lose, that season's over.
- 37:19Speaker 5: You chance, Yeah, you still have a chance, which I
- 37:22Speaker 5: didn't think there we're gonna be Oregon. But but then
- 37:26Speaker 5: you look at this way, do you guys are guess
- 37:28Speaker 5: Humberton Conference, they're going to Washington win.
- 37:31Speaker 3: No, Like I I still don't trust of them on
- 37:34Speaker 3: the road one bit. One game has not changed that.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Not one hundred percent confident in any game ever. Yeah,
- 37:42Speaker 1: it's a game. That's a game that I would guess
- 37:44Speaker 1: it's gonna be a pretty even spread. You gotta go
- 37:50Speaker 1: win that one. That's one that I think. It's not
- 37:52Speaker 1: a home game. I think you're remaining home games, We're
- 37:55Speaker 1: going to be favored by a few points in a
- 37:56Speaker 1: lot of those. This Washington one is our best road game,
- 38:00Speaker 1: our best chance to win one of the remaining road games.
- 38:04Speaker 1: But I agree it's not it's not a gimme because
- 38:06Speaker 1: they're last in the conference by any beings.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I mean, we're it's big arrest.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Well, I guess they don't really are anymore, probably moved up.
- 38:16Speaker 5: Can we also talk about an organ crowd yesterday? That
- 38:20Speaker 5: place was like twenty full there. I don't know where
- 38:24Speaker 5: it was a Sunday. There was no students there at all.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Like I didn't hear you bet hear a student section.
- 38:29Speaker 5: One bit, so I don't know they haven't gone back
- 38:31Speaker 5: to the school yet or what's going on there. But
- 38:33Speaker 5: there was nobody at that game. I don't know if
- 38:35Speaker 5: they don't care about their baste them there or what
- 38:37Speaker 5: was going.
- 38:37Speaker 1: On something about the West Coast. I just as far
- 38:41Speaker 1: as the fan bases, I'm just like, yeah, they just
- 38:45Speaker 1: they are good.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And I mean a lot of the weather's nicer. I
- 38:48Speaker 2: mean that's probably what it is.
- 38:49Speaker 1: There's just more more to do outside. That's probably a
- 38:53Speaker 1: very true statement.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 5: I guess I was watching Uclad the other day and
- 38:56Speaker 5: that place is like two and that's like work program
- 39:00Speaker 5: right there, So.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I thought I thought it was weird. Now it was
- 39:06Speaker 3: a weekend game, there was nobody there.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I've had played our advantage, I guess.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah this week.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you mentioned the at Washington, another road game on
- 39:23Speaker 1: the West Coast, and then Sunday at one o'clock we
- 39:26Speaker 1: host Ohio State in PBA, so a couple of games.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I think that, you know, you put up.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Good performance and we're gonna like where we're sitting after
- 39:40Speaker 1: a week here, But they're like, you said, not gimme
- 39:43Speaker 1: at all. And I think the coaching staff and players
- 39:47Speaker 1: know that. I think, I hope this team seems to
- 39:53Speaker 1: be playing hard, which I didn't know what they would
- 39:55Speaker 1: do after the comparison.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Losses that we had.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Okay, anything else Braska basketball, Nope, I feel like.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Oh wait, now you can go first, Austin.
- 40:13Speaker 2: No, I was gonna comment, not on basketball.
- 40:16Speaker 5: Oh there's there's one more thing we can mention our
- 40:19Speaker 5: podcast with the Rayless weight me is free throw shooting.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Isn't it like one? He's like one fifteen or something?
- 40:28Speaker 3: This year I saw like, what is it? No, that's
- 40:34Speaker 3: all I have at practice. That's what they should do
- 40:36Speaker 3: the rest of the years.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Make him shoot, Dak How many free throws would you
- 40:39Speaker 1: make right now if you walk into a gym out
- 40:41Speaker 1: of fifteen?
- 40:41Speaker 3: Oh I could beat that seven eight?
- 40:44Speaker 1: Bullshit?
- 40:45Speaker 3: That could I think you can make avery throws out
- 40:48Speaker 3: of it? Oh yeah, I don't.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I can walk outside right now. There's a hoop over here, Grander.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Get into this next topic. You're starting to feel a
- 40:58Speaker 2: little disrespectful. John Cook, Oh my gosh.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Osten wanted to lead off. I said, we'll get to it.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Announced his retirement shortly after Danny busterm kelly named the
- 41:16Speaker 1: new head coach, shortly.
- 41:17Speaker 2: I mean when you say shortly, it less than twenty minutes.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Official fourteen minutes I think was the Twitter.
- 41:23Speaker 2: No time to let it di gest it was just
- 41:27Speaker 2: a roller coaster, Uh.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I mean what can you say about the guy who
- 41:34Speaker 1: I mean really had had has had taken what Kry
- 41:37Speaker 1: Pettitt did as the head coach Nebraska and then.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Just sat on the Kicks sideline and did nothing.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Yeah, did nothing, Sam McEwen uh and and really it
- 41:48Speaker 1: really just took it and evolved it into what women's
- 41:52Speaker 1: college volleyball is now. And I think if you asked
- 41:55Speaker 1: any other coach player in the college volleyball industry, you
- 42:03Speaker 1: know that they would echo the impact that John Cook
- 42:06Speaker 1: had in in evolving the sport more so than anything,
- 42:11Speaker 1: you know, coming from where did where did he grow
- 42:14Speaker 1: up at? I don't even know? Is it at Wyoming, Montrea, California? Okay,
- 42:18Speaker 1: I not I believe he you know, I didn't even know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: got put into a random volleyball job position coach and
- 42:25Speaker 1: and end up liking it and ran with it. You know,
- 42:30Speaker 1: started had a little bit of time at with Nebraska,
- 42:32Speaker 1: then went to Wisconsin, then came back to Nebraska, and
- 42:36Speaker 1: we know that the story since I mean, for sure
- 42:42Speaker 1: Mount Rushmore of Nebraska coaches right up there with Tom Osborne,
- 42:46Speaker 1: I'm and Bob Devanny.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Do you want to talk about just.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Any specific sport and in college volleyball, like I don't.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Do you have his record somewhere it's like eight hundred
- 42:57Speaker 1: something and one hundred and something like it is, Yeah,
- 43:03Speaker 1: very very, very very good and what he was able
- 43:05Speaker 1: to do, so, I mean, yeah, congrats to a very people.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I think some people were kind of stunned by it.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I really wasn't. I think people priced saw this coming
- 43:16Speaker 1: past several years potentially just not knowing when it sounds like,
- 43:20Speaker 1: you know, there was for sure weights and guarantees that
- 43:25Speaker 1: we were going to get someone like Danny Busman back
- 43:28Speaker 1: to Nebraska and taking this position before he was willing
- 43:31Speaker 1: to step down. You know, you know when when you're
- 43:34Speaker 1: following someone that great, you know you want their you
- 43:37Speaker 1: want their pick, you want their approval to take over
- 43:39Speaker 1: and lead the program.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Right after.
- 43:42Speaker 2: He was eight hundred and eighty three and one seventy
- 43:44Speaker 2: six as a head coach for volleyball. Pretty freaking goodero
- 43:49Speaker 2: point eight three four. Yeah, it's wild, Like the retirement
- 43:55Speaker 2: press conference was tough. It's crazy that he's just like, yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 2: I just wanted to coach football. I just you know,
- 44:01Speaker 2: I was coaching. He was like a linebackers coach for
- 44:04Speaker 2: high school football, and he just wanted to get the
- 44:06Speaker 2: head coaching job for football, and then he ended up
- 44:08Speaker 2: falling into the volleyball thing until he ended up winning
- 44:13Speaker 2: a lot and then he just did that for the
- 44:15Speaker 2: rest of his life. Good for him, Glad he came
- 44:21Speaker 2: to the conclusion. It sounds like it's still gonna be
- 44:23Speaker 2: involved with.
- 44:23Speaker 4: The program, but as far as you know, and part
- 44:29Speaker 4: of the thing he kept saying to his retirement was
- 44:31Speaker 4: I want to leave this in a good spot, and
- 44:33Speaker 4: I think it's never been in a better spot. And
- 44:35Speaker 4: I think he's right. I mean, the rosters loaded with talent,
- 44:38Speaker 4: and then we're bringing in a head coach who, I mean,
- 44:43Speaker 4: arguably one of the hottest coaches in college volleyball. I mean,
- 44:49Speaker 4: made three Final four in the last four years and
- 44:52Speaker 4: the final national championship last year for a program that
- 44:56Speaker 4: wasn't much of anything before she got there. You feel
- 45:01Speaker 4: pretty good with that succession plan. And she's from Nebraska.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Coach at Nebraska, it's from right up.
- 45:09Speaker 1: The road, right up the road, and Adam's Nebraska.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, right up the road. It sucks, but we knew
- 45:17Speaker 2: it was gonna happen, So not unforeseen.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Dak great career, good lucky retirements. All I gotta say.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Not much here I can say.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I will say like as from a Husker fan, just
- 45:32Speaker 1: from a respecting greatness type of person, like.
- 45:37Speaker 3: All positives like very impressed.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I mean, it is it. It's what he was able
- 45:42Speaker 1: to accomplish is incredible. Now as a high school basketball
- 45:46Speaker 1: coach in Nebraska, thank god he's gone. Like I had
- 45:51Speaker 1: a very very very differing opinion about him when it
- 45:55Speaker 1: comes to some of the ways that he's impacted negatively
- 46:01Speaker 1: in the basketball landscape because of the I mean, Nebraska's
- 46:04Speaker 1: a volleyball state when it comes to.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Anywhere, it's not.
- 46:10Speaker 1: And and John Cook developed and evolved that like he did.
- 46:13Speaker 1: And again from a general Nebraska fan standpoint, that's awesome.
- 46:19Speaker 1: But from a high school girls basketball coach Nebraska, it sucks.
- 46:23Speaker 1: And I kind of pissed you off. But that's that
- 46:27Speaker 1: that you gotta you gotta pay respect words due.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, great coach regardless of sport, all time great.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Okay, last topic it goes, I'll spind the wheel just
- 46:41Speaker 1: for just for fun, but.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Brain melting mannall.
- 46:51Speaker 3: B A.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Tradesh, Austin loves this, and and Dak just for background too.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I just want to just want to fill you in.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Austin is and I'm obviously into the NBA something too,
- 47:04Speaker 1: but Austin's like when it comes to trades and GMing
- 47:09Speaker 1: and and the bat the front office of especially the NBA,
- 47:13Speaker 1: Austin's like the guru, guru of it. Like he would
- 47:16Speaker 1: sit in college classes when I was with him, like
- 47:19Speaker 1: around this time when the trade deadline approached, and just
- 47:21Speaker 1: refresh the page every minute and go through all these
- 47:25Speaker 1: hypotheticals on where people would go. And like this is
- 47:28Speaker 1: right down Austin's alley.
- 47:29Speaker 3: He loves it.
- 47:29Speaker 4: All I could tell you, I've probably played probably one hundred,
- 47:35Speaker 4: you know, like hundreds of hours of two K.
- 47:37Speaker 2: The number of hours of games I've actually played probably
- 47:41Speaker 2: less than ten. I mean, I'm just doing my GM
- 47:45Speaker 2: Fantasy draft.
- 47:49Speaker 3: I'd probably sploited Saturday night.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Oh my god. I didn't find out about it until
- 47:53Speaker 2: Sunday morning because I was at my parents place and
- 47:56Speaker 2: I just I had no one to talk to about it.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I was just I don't I don't know what to do.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Like the first of me, I thought it was like.
- 48:04Speaker 4: The NBA's rigged, Like there's no way in how the
- 48:09Speaker 4: Lakers get this without NBA interference. Obviously we're talking about
- 48:13Speaker 4: the Luca don Chik for Anthony Davis, basically straight up trade.
- 48:17Speaker 2: I mean the it's I the fact that Michael Bridges
- 48:25Speaker 2: got five first round picks, bear two really go bear
- 48:30Speaker 2: five first round picks and Luka doncas Is a thirty
- 48:35Speaker 2: one year old Anthony thirty two year old Anthony Davis
- 48:38Speaker 2: and one first round pick. I I have read so
- 48:45Speaker 2: many things.
- 48:46Speaker 4: The best conspiracy theory I've read is that basically the
- 48:49Speaker 4: owners I'll send you the link. I found this on
- 48:52Speaker 4: x The owners of the new owners of the Dallas
- 48:55Speaker 4: Mavericks are trying to build basically a casino basketball arena.
- 49:00Speaker 2: That's their goals.
- 49:00Speaker 4: They want to build this giant basketball arena, casino resort.
- 49:05Speaker 4: And apparently Texas legislature has been pushing back on them,
- 49:09Speaker 4: and so they're basically like, we're gonna gonna tank the
- 49:10Speaker 4: franchise to give us leverage to say we're gonna move
- 49:13Speaker 4: to Las Vegas because we have no fans, so there's
- 49:15Speaker 4: no reason for us to stay in Dallas anymore. And
- 49:18Speaker 4: that's the only way I can logically make sense is
- 49:20Speaker 4: that we just have to tank the franchise so we
- 49:22Speaker 4: can threaten to move to Vegas so that we can
- 49:24Speaker 4: then pass legislature in Texas so we can build our arena.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Wow, I haven't heard that one that does.
- 49:34Speaker 4: I'll shoot you the link afterwards. But it was a
- 49:37Speaker 4: pretty pretty pretty thorough conspiracy theory.
- 49:41Speaker 2: It makes sense.
- 49:42Speaker 4: There's no freaking reason Luca Dontis to be on the Lakers.
- 49:45Speaker 4: I'm excited because I like Lebron and I like Luca,
- 49:49Speaker 4: but all time gaff.
- 49:52Speaker 2: By the Dallas Mavericks.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I was gonna say biggest trade since men. I mean,
- 49:59Speaker 1: what what other big time players have gotten traded?
- 50:03Speaker 2: Like Anthony Davis?
- 50:05Speaker 5: But he trade out because I what would you guys
- 50:10Speaker 5: rank him as player in the league right now? He's
- 50:12Speaker 5: top five for sure, I'd say two or three.
- 50:15Speaker 2: He's behind, It's honest. You getch Luca Shay, Yeah.
- 50:19Speaker 5: So he's yeah, he's he's top three, yeah, because I
- 50:21Speaker 5: don't think I'd take anyone else. And basically the only
- 50:24Speaker 5: reason the man's has said so far is because he's fat.
- 50:27Speaker 2: That's it.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, dak is Luca need to lose some lbs?
- 50:30Speaker 5: Like Dylan Royola's gonna bring that up when he.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Literally took the team to like the Western Coomference finals
- 50:38Speaker 2: by himself.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Yeah he's fat, and then then he got cooked in
- 50:42Speaker 3: the finals, but they made the finals.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I want to know how fat is he? Like how many?
- 50:49Speaker 2: How much does he weigh right now? Because I have
- 50:51Speaker 2: not seen him beau he's been hurt.
- 50:52Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Someone someone told me or someone I heard someone say
- 50:56Speaker 1: on on Hero Wrote podcast. I was listening to two
- 50:58Speaker 1: seventy at one point. He not that now, but he
- 51:00Speaker 1: got up to two seventy.
- 51:03Speaker 5: He fluctuates a lot during the seasons, like he he
- 51:05Speaker 5: definitely gets fatter in this game. But you can't just
- 51:08Speaker 5: trade an all time player because he's fat. Like it's
- 51:10Speaker 5: pretty you can lose. You can lose that weight in
- 51:12Speaker 5: two months.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Like it's not even like he's fat in thirty you know,
- 51:19Speaker 2: like his whole prime is ahead of him.
- 51:22Speaker 5: The only thing I thought of is to save money
- 51:25Speaker 5: from the Supermax. You pay him that, but still you
- 51:28Speaker 5: pay him that.
- 51:29Speaker 2: It's like freaking cares.
- 51:33Speaker 1: So he's two thirties listed a two thirty, but it
- 51:35Speaker 1: says weight got up to the upper two sixties early
- 51:38Speaker 1: in the season.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Hillan Ryol was also listed at two thirty shorter.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Another yeah, that's usually all lies. But another thing, another
- 51:49Speaker 5: thing I heard is why they didn't shop him off.
- 51:52Speaker 5: They just threw one offer out and that was it.
- 51:54Speaker 3: We'll take it. They never called around at all to
- 51:58Speaker 3: any other teams.
- 52:01Speaker 4: The reason that it's all both another conspiracy theories is
- 52:06Speaker 4: that they didn't want basically Clutch Sports to kill the
- 52:08Speaker 4: deal like they can't so well, Nico Harrison, the GM
- 52:15Speaker 4: for the Mavericks, basically came out and says like, I
- 52:17Speaker 4: didn't I wanted I could get anything I wanted for Lucas,
- 52:20Speaker 4: so I wanted to find the trade I wanted and
- 52:22Speaker 4: that's all I wanted to do. I didn't want Luca
- 52:24Speaker 4: to get leveraged. I didn't want Clutch or any sports
- 52:27Speaker 4: agencies to get leverage. He didn't say that, but that's
- 52:32Speaker 4: my assumption is he didn't want them to have power
- 52:34Speaker 4: because now he's being shopped around. Now they can start
- 52:36Speaker 4: saying like, well, we're not going to sign here and
- 52:37Speaker 4: we're not going to sign there.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And it's just because it I mean, the the all
- 52:43Speaker 1: the facts right now are basically saying that nobody knew
- 52:47Speaker 1: that this was going to happen besides.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Yes, and that's it.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Like the players didn't know, like mediaps didn't know it
- 52:57Speaker 1: was it was just it was done, so who knows,
- 52:59Speaker 1: like what the conversations were like And like you said, Austin,
- 53:02Speaker 1: that makes sense too as far as how to justify
- 53:05Speaker 1: it as to how it went.
- 53:07Speaker 2: But but like it happened, like the trade deadline's Thursday.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Like it happened, there's no nothing, nothing computes. Like I
- 53:18Speaker 2: drove two hours home from Norfolk after finding this out,
- 53:22Speaker 2: and the whole time it was like, I can't make
- 53:25Speaker 2: any sense of it.
- 53:27Speaker 1: In your life. Didn't want to talk to you with
- 53:29Speaker 1: you about it.
- 53:30Speaker 2: She was willing to listen to it because she thinks
- 53:32Speaker 2: lucas pretty.
- 53:37Speaker 3: No, I don't get it all.
- 53:39Speaker 5: Like it really pissed me off because I'm a Celtics
- 53:41Speaker 5: fan because the Lakers were screwed.
- 53:43Speaker 3: They were they were screwed.
- 53:45Speaker 5: With Ady and Lebron. They had two three years left
- 53:47Speaker 5: max to that and then they were done. And now
- 53:50Speaker 5: and now They're just the whole franchise is rebooting now.
- 53:53Speaker 2: I'm like, God, they didn't even give up two first
- 53:56Speaker 2: they gave up one first round pick one percent.
- 54:00Speaker 3: I could see it. I could like.
- 54:02Speaker 5: This is one where I actually believe there's something going
- 54:04Speaker 5: on in conspiracy wise, because.
- 54:09Speaker 3: No one was talking about the NBA like it was.
- 54:11Speaker 5: It's been dead like and now this brings veers back
- 54:14Speaker 5: to it now like this is the most it's super
- 54:16Speaker 5: weak and what are people talking about?
- 54:18Speaker 1: Well, the NBA. NBA knows this ship. They put their
- 54:22Speaker 1: trade deadline. They do it every year right in the
- 54:25Speaker 1: midst of like the last couple of weeks of the
- 54:27Speaker 1: of the NFL too. They're smart when they do that.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I mean there's gonna be more trades I suspect here
- 54:33Speaker 1: the next couple of days or anything else worth mentioning.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I mean, I.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Got more first round picks for that, got more first
- 54:43Speaker 1: drum picks for that.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Zachly Vine to the Kings is also part of that.
- 54:47Speaker 3: I mean I heard KD is getting shopped.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Uh. I don't know if he is, though, I think
- 54:54Speaker 2: people are reaching out about him, but I don't His
- 54:58Speaker 2: contracts bad. That's not bad, But I what the Sons
- 55:03Speaker 2: are probably gonna take back for him. It just I
- 55:06Speaker 2: just don't see any other big moves. I didn't see
- 55:08Speaker 2: Luca game moved.
- 55:09Speaker 4: Maybe Jimmy Butler gets moved, but I would say that
- 55:13Speaker 4: it just sounds there's gonna be a bunch of like
- 55:14Speaker 4: smaller pieces that get moved.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Do you think Lebron gets moved.
- 55:18Speaker 2: No, he has a no trade cause and he wants.
- 55:20Speaker 3: To be in l A. Yeah.
- 55:23Speaker 5: I don't think I've heard people talking like Charles Barkley's
- 55:26Speaker 5: talking to May on some showing he's like, yeah, he
- 55:28Speaker 5: can get traded.
- 55:29Speaker 3: I don't see that at all.
- 55:30Speaker 2: He has a no trade cause.
- 55:31Speaker 3: There's yeah, there's there's no reason.
- 55:34Speaker 2: It's traded to the Golden State. But I don't think
- 55:37Speaker 2: he wants that or else.
- 55:38Speaker 5: Do you have a better shot of winning right now?
- 55:39Speaker 5: I mean he's got he's got Luca. Now, you didn't
- 55:42Speaker 5: give up any of your at like your role players
- 55:45Speaker 5: for the Thunder have a player that barely plays.
- 55:50Speaker 2: I just yeah, I don't really. I can't really think
- 55:52Speaker 2: of any other players that might get traded.
- 55:57Speaker 4: But I also didn't think Luca was gonna get I
- 56:00Speaker 4: thought that was literally an impossibility, Like there's there are
- 56:05Speaker 4: like five guys that you just do not trade.
- 56:08Speaker 1: It got set in our group and Hamen with Dak
- 56:11Speaker 1: and it was like it was like hot and then like,
- 56:14Speaker 1: oh wait, that's actually real, Like that wasn't.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Actually said to come out and be like no, my
- 56:18Speaker 2: account was not hacked. That's how laughable the trade was.
- 56:24Speaker 5: They I can't think, Oh, yeah, there's one major thing
- 56:30Speaker 5: I'm predicting on this. Kyrie's gonna golf deep end here
- 56:32Speaker 5: within a week. He's gonna do something crazy again He's.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Done and go to the Celtics. Not no, that that's
- 56:38Speaker 3: not gonna happen. I hope, I.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Actually do think. Honestly, you look at the Mavericks lineup.
- 56:45Speaker 2: They're not better all year, but they're freaking big.
- 56:50Speaker 4: I mean, Gafford, when Lively's back, Davis and then you
- 56:55Speaker 4: have Kyrie and Clay out there, like that's not a
- 56:59Speaker 4: terrible start five and it's a good size matchup.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I don't know, Lady or Julius Randall gets moved again.
- 57:08Speaker 2: Hopefully yeah, hopefully.
- 57:13Speaker 4: They but yeah, just definitely bolsters my preseason hot takes.
- 57:17Speaker 4: As I said, when he's gonna win MVP and Defensive
- 57:20Speaker 4: Player of the year. I think with the Aaron Fox
- 57:22Speaker 4: they can make a move into the top four in
- 57:24Speaker 4: the Western Conference.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Which makes that real possibility.
- 57:27Speaker 3: It's all I just don't get it. I don't know
- 57:31Speaker 3: why he did it.
- 57:32Speaker 5: I I swear to god he got drug Saturday night
- 57:33Speaker 5: and the name sign the papers, Like I'm gonna.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Send you guys this tweet which has like fifteen supporting
- 57:40Speaker 4: evidence cases for why it's all because of gambling.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I'll read it.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Oh, I'm in on it. I think I think their
- 57:46Speaker 3: teensperiously behind it. I really do. There's no way.
- 57:51Speaker 5: I mean, they could have hit it better if they're
- 57:52Speaker 5: conspiritsy behind it. A couple more picks in there, Jesus,
- 57:56Speaker 5: what's that pick? Four years down the road.
- 57:58Speaker 1: To YEA, I loved to see you tried to GM
- 58:01Speaker 1: a team.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Oh my god, I wouldn't do that.
- 58:06Speaker 4: Probably right now, I think I could be a better
- 58:08Speaker 4: GM than Nico Harrison, and he was actually doing really good.
- 58:11Speaker 2: That's the thing. Like last year they made I I
- 58:16Speaker 2: just can't They made all these moves last year for
- 58:19Speaker 2: like a Luca don Jicks centered team, Like we're gonna
- 58:22Speaker 2: get all these rim running big men that can protect
- 58:25Speaker 2: the rim in this take.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Lobs and and he seems like that, he's like he
- 58:30Speaker 3: thinks he killed it.
- 58:31Speaker 4: Like I know, he's like, I'm fucking calling my shot,
- 58:35Speaker 4: which apparently I saw some tweet that they're worried it's
- 58:38Speaker 4: gonna be another Embian situation.
- 58:39Speaker 2: He's just gonna get hurt and that's just what he's
- 58:42Speaker 2: gonna be.
- 58:42Speaker 1: But huh, peace.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Lakers.
- 58:53Speaker 1: It's good for the Lakers.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Yeah, good for the news. All right, super Bowl picksfore
- 58:59Speaker 2: we go?
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yep?
- 59:02Speaker 3: Oh boy, I still don't know.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Yes, what do you mean you don't know what's the spread?
- 59:09Speaker 1: That's another topic.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Man.
- 59:11Speaker 1: We didn't even include the Super Bowl either either team
- 59:14Speaker 1: to win. God not as all the Chiefs by one.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Right now, give me the Chiefs and the points.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Score, uh, twenty seven twenty four Kansas City.
- 59:35Speaker 3: I'll go twenty four to twenty one Chiefs.
- 59:41Speaker 5: Oh that's not I don't like either team all. I
- 59:45Speaker 5: just Eagles fans don't deserve any any way to be happy.
- 59:48Speaker 1: That just absolutely hates both of these teams.
- 59:51Speaker 3: And it's awesome. Well, I'm not excited at all. Suck
- 59:56Speaker 3: Jane hurts their quarterback and.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Gonna I'm gonna throw out like a weird score. I'm
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: gonna go twenty two to twenty one chiefs.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Oh that's low.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Defense. Super Bowl. I think that that's that's the thing.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: A lot of time to prepare for each team.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: I mean, are you both excited for this game?
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: No, not at all.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I mean I'm it's I have a couple of rooting
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: interests in it, so that's better than most ears.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: I would like to see Cam Jurgens do well.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Is he gonna play though, Yes, yeah he will.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: I'd be surprised if you did it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: That's my guess.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I have no inside news, that's my guess.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: I just if you're an Eagles fan, you know, screw you.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: If you listen to this your Eagles fans, screw you.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: That's all I say.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: There goes. Those listeners are doing real well.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Yeah, lost a lot.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Hey, we can afford to lose. On my guess. We're
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: ranked number six six.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: There you go, all right, we got piss some people off.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Yes, back next week you'll be grid here you are.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: You'll be grad
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Start
