Speaker 6: Saint Patrick's Day, Sonny and seventy five in the Capital City.
• 1:33
Speaker 6: I'm gonna say it until it's true. Do have more
• 1:37
Speaker 6: snow on the way? And I guess if you're gonna
• 1:38
Speaker 6: get snow would be the kind that we had yesterday
• 1:43
Speaker 6: last night where it was just pretty to look at,
• 1:45
Speaker 6: but it wasn't on the road. We had very limited
• 1:48
Speaker 6: impacts yesterday and early. I got to the office about
• 1:51
Speaker 6: seven o'clock or so this morning, no issues at all,
• 1:53
Speaker 6: but that quickly changed over the last hour and a
• 1:57
Speaker 6: half or so. So we're gonna check in with meteorology
• 2:00
Speaker 6: Brian Hughes here momentarily. Also Attorney General J. B. McCuskey
• 2:03
Speaker 6: will be stopping by Charleston Mayor Amy Shooter or good
• 2:05
Speaker 6: one is here the announcement yesterday Park Play Cinemas we'll
• 2:08
Speaker 6: be reopening. We'll talk to the mayor about that. And
• 2:10
Speaker 6: Stephen Allen Atis from Ogden Newspapers all coming up on
• 2:13
Speaker 6: the show tomorrow. Let's go to the weather department right now.
• 2:17
Speaker 6: We don't really have a weather department, but we have
• 2:18
Speaker 6: a weather guy and it's Brian Hughes.
• 2:21
Speaker 5: I'm a one meg Dog and Pony show, Yes, sir, And.
• 2:23
Speaker 4: Just so you know, we have a consumer complaint lodged
• 2:25
Speaker 4: against you from the Attorney General's office. Thank you very much,
• 2:28
  Speaker 4: was Virginia Consumers.
• 2:30
  Speaker 5: This sucks.
• 2:31
Speaker 3: Yeah, it sure does.
• 2:32
Speaker 5: A good deal. Well, I appreciate it. Listen, I'm right
• 2:35
  Speaker 5: there with.
• 2:35
  Speaker 7: You, all right.
• 2:36
Speaker 6: So snow started falling yesterday. Yeah, I guess seventy degrees
• 2:41
Speaker 6: at midnight on Sunday slash Monday.
• 2:43
Speaker 2: I was out on the back deck at midnight enjoying
• 2:46
  Speaker 2: it in shorts.
• 2:47
Speaker 6: Yeah. And then and then it all went the heck
• 2:49
Speaker 6: in a handbasket. After that, we had snow started falling
• 2:52
Speaker 6: yesterday and again, as I said, very limited issues on
• 2:56
Speaker 6: the roads for a time. I got to the office.
• 2:58
Speaker 6: I was on sixty four to seven o'clock this morning,
• 3:00
Speaker 6: perfectly fine. But then we started to seeing from Kana
• 3:03
Speaker 6: from nine one one about all of these accidents, what
• 3:06
Speaker 6: exactly is going on?
• 3:07
Speaker 2: Well, more than anything, that accidents were happening around around
• 3:11
Speaker 2: the bridges and overpasses, and then we also had some
• 3:15
Speaker 2: of the when you get some of the son squalls,
• 3:18
Speaker 2: you can have the road that will cool quickly and
• 3:21
Speaker 2: quickly produce in light sheet device. But more than anything,
• 3:25
Speaker 2: this storm over performed with on average about two inches
• 3:28
Speaker 2: more than what was even forecasts. We had this at
• 3:30
Speaker 2: the storm that passed through yesterday and yesterday morning with
• 3:34
Speaker 2: all the severe thunderstrom mornings and the severe thunderstrum watch.
• 3:38
Speaker 2: Then we had that band of rain that moved through
• 3:40
Speaker 2: about ten o'clock in the morning. And what happened was
• 3:43
Speaker 2: the cold. The thermal profile from top of the atmosphere
• 3:48
Speaker 2: to bottom was just solidly frozen by yesterday afternoon. And
• 3:53
Speaker 2: that was not None of the forecast models ever saw
• 3:55
Speaker 2: that at all period.
• 3:57
Speaker 5: End of the story.
• 3:58
Speaker 2: So even the highly t did European forecast model. As
• 4:01
Speaker 2: much as everybody wants to scream and jump up and down,
• 4:03
Speaker 2: how that's the most accurate.
• 4:05
Speaker 5: It misses as well, and it did yesterday.
• 4:07
Speaker 2: So we had very cold air topped to bobo of
• 4:10
Speaker 2: the atmosphere and then this moisture hanging around. Some of
• 4:13
Speaker 2: it bring drawn up from the Mississippi Valley, but then
• 4:16
Speaker 2: a lot of that coming off of Lake Michigan. And
• 4:18
Speaker 2: when you get those two combined, it is Katie bar
• 4:21
Speaker 2: the door for some heavy snow. And we still have
• 4:22
Speaker 2: there's another snow squall, one that's about to that's moving
• 4:26
Speaker 2: into Allen Creek within about the next ten minutes. There's
• 4:28
Speaker 2: one that's across Tay's Valley Windfield, you just saw that.
• 4:31
  Speaker 5: It's at PoCA.
• 4:32
Speaker 2: And we've got some that's up there in southern Jackson
• 4:35
Speaker 2: County as you get north of Sisamville. We've got this
• 4:39
Speaker 2: band of snow that's out around Hurricane and back out
• 4:43
Speaker 2: to Scott Depot. Right now, that's going to be a
• 4:46
Speaker 2: heck of That's a heck of a burst of snow,
• 4:48
  Speaker 2: all right.
• 4:48
Speaker 7: And when is it all gonna end? That's what everybody
• 4:50
  Speaker 7: wants to go.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: Well, I never exactly, it will never end. We have
• 4:56
Speaker 2: between one and four o'clock this afternoon. If that sun
• 4:59
Speaker 2: pops out. That's not good because that's gonna fire up.
• 5:02
Speaker 5: I don't want this snow square.
• 5:03
Speaker 6: Somebody just stopped you in the hall and said, are
• 5:04
Speaker 6: we going to get sun today? But your saying we
• 5:05
  Speaker 6: don't want sun.
• 5:06
Speaker 5: We do not want sun today at all.
• 5:08
Speaker 2: The moment we get sun, that's when you get some
• 5:10
  Speaker 2: better snow squalls.
• 5:11
Speaker 5: Because it's just like in the app.
• 5:12
Speaker 2: It's just like in the middle of the spring, whenever
• 5:14
Speaker 2: it gets nice and Toastyeah, all of a sudden, you're like, oh,
• 5:17
Speaker 2: that sunshine is gonna make severe weather.
• 5:19
Speaker 5: It's gonna make it much worse. Same thing with snow squalls.
• 5:22
Speaker 2: You get that sun that pops, it just gives it
• 5:24
Speaker 2: a little juice, and next c and o boom, we
• 5:26
Speaker 2: get snowsqualls, and that could be a problem.
• 5:28
Speaker 5: I actually do not see us.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: The official forecast National weather surface is thirty two thirty
• 5:32
Speaker 2: three degrees for a high. I don't see us getting
• 5:35
Speaker 2: at above twenty eight today. My forecast models that I've
• 5:38
Speaker 2: run with AI models, we run a number of models
• 5:42
Speaker 2: together and then give the best possible scenario. And my
• 5:45
Speaker 2: models are running day of ninety five to ninety seven
• 5:48
Speaker 2: percent accuracy, and we're looking at twenty eight degrees for
• 5:51
  Speaker 2: a high today.
• 5:52
Speaker 5: Mostly we're gonna see clouds all day long.
• 5:54
Speaker 7: What's the afternoon commute look like? Everybody gets so forth
• 5:56
  Speaker 7: the name.
• 5:57
Speaker 2: If we get sun, pops, we'll get some snow squalls
• 6:00
Speaker 2: to be a problem. The moisture doesn't really start to
• 6:02
Speaker 2: cut off till probably about between seven and midnight tonight,
• 6:04
Speaker 2: So we're gonna have light snow flurries and dispatch of
• 6:08
Speaker 2: snow showers within this next hour hour and a half
• 6:10
Speaker 2: is going to be the bulk of the snow. But
• 6:12
Speaker 2: then we'll have some light snowflakes off and onto the afternoon.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: As long as the like I said, as long as
• 6:17
Speaker 2: we do not get any sun, we should just see
• 6:19
Speaker 2: some light snow fliorries for the rest of the afternoon
• 6:22
Speaker 2: and temperatures in the upper twenty.
• 6:23
Speaker 6: Or I think on social media they're always upset about
• 6:26
Speaker 6: the school delays, closing you could, or lack of right
• 6:30
  Speaker 6: you know.
• 6:30
Speaker 2: So it because because it was under forecast. And I'll
• 6:34
Speaker 2: say this, I was looking at the National the Service
• 6:36
Speaker 2: forecasts discussion. That's more the technical side of things, and
• 6:40
Speaker 2: there were excuses everywhere, and I listen every you gotta
• 6:44
Speaker 2: throw some excuses somewhere. I mean, it was what it was,
• 6:47
Speaker 2: it is what it is now. But this was under forecast.
• 6:51
Speaker 4: We do not need more days off of school. No,
• 6:53
Speaker 4: we do know an right, so please continue to miss
• 6:56
  Speaker 4: the forecast.
• 6:57
Speaker 3: So continue to go. That would make me enormously happy. Yeah,
• 7:01
  Speaker 3: you do.
• 7:01
Speaker 5: Listen. I'll do my best, But right now I don't
• 7:04
Speaker 5: have that much control.
• 7:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, because it brought control tractually, I don't have much.
• 7:10
  Speaker 7: Control this weekend.
• 7:11
Speaker 5: We're gonna be good this week This weekend is going
• 7:13
  Speaker 5: to be awesome.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: It's mid sixties for Friday, and then we're going to
• 7:17
Speaker 2: be in the upper sixties to seventy Saturday, Sunday.
• 7:20
Speaker 5: Great weather for the weekend.
• 7:22
Speaker 2: Just got to get past today and then tonight and
• 7:24
Speaker 2: then we're in the mid forties of borrow.
• 7:26
Speaker 5: Then we're in the fifties going into the year.
• 7:27
  Speaker 7: And then that's it's done.
• 7:29
Speaker 5: Well. Yeah, in theory, remember JB.
• 7:32
Speaker 7: Can you do something about that? As Attorney gy, I'm
• 7:34
Speaker 7: already working on it.
• 7:35
Speaker 4: We have investigative subpoenas that will be delivered today. And
• 7:39
Speaker 4: you know, at the end of the day, we protect
• 7:41
Speaker 4: West Virginia consumers and we want to consume some sunshine. Well,
• 7:44
Speaker 4: and he just told me sunshine causes snow, which has.
• 7:47
Speaker 3: To be false advertising.
• 7:49
  Speaker 7: There you go.
• 7:49
Speaker 5: Well you know what I thought. I liked you.
• 7:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, just keep missing the forecast so my kids keep
• 7:54
  Speaker 4: going to school.
• 7:56
Speaker 7: We're trying appreciate it. Man, thanks a lot.
• 7:57
  Speaker 5: You're very welcome.
• 7:58
Speaker 6: Attorney General JB. MCCUs, he's here, welcome to show happy
• 8:01
Speaker 6: Saint Patrick's Day, sir.
• 8:02
Speaker 4: Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you too. As you can tell,
• 8:04
Speaker 4: I'm not wearing gray. Okay, yeah, you you're rocket to blue.
• 8:07
Speaker 4: Ryan's got light blonde and I'm dressed in black. So
• 8:10
Speaker 4: here we go, Happy happy Saint Patte Irish person. I
• 8:13
Speaker 4: don't particularly care for the way that American celebrates Saint
• 8:16
  Speaker 4: Patrick's dawn.
• 8:17
Speaker 7: You know, I've heard that from various others.
• 8:19
Speaker 4: Why is the I mean, I think when you're sort
• 8:23
Speaker 4: of moving to the lowest common denominator and out of
• 8:25
Speaker 4: the faith aspect of it, Americans celebrated by getting drunk
• 8:29
Speaker 4: and fighting each other and pretending they're Irish, which is
• 8:31
Speaker 4: not a very nice portrayal of Irish people.
• 8:34
Speaker 5: I just like to kiss everybody. I don't fight them,
• 8:36
  Speaker 5: just get drunk.
• 8:37
Speaker 3: I hate notre dame. Well, so, you know, there's a
• 8:40
  Speaker 3: myriad of reasons.
• 8:42
Speaker 6: It's kind of like sinking to Mayo. How it's not
• 8:44
Speaker 6: even a thing in Mexico, right, correct, Yeah, it's actually exactly.
• 8:47
Speaker 7: Like they don't even know what you're talking about.
• 8:50
Speaker 4: We're going to go get Americanized Mexican food and drink
• 8:52
  Speaker 4: too many margaritas.
• 8:53
Speaker 7: And how's that different than any other?
• 8:55
  Speaker 8: Ye?
• 8:55
  Speaker 3: That's right?
• 8:56
Speaker 7: All right, serious, biz.
• 8:57
Speaker 6: There was a ruling last week, actually a little over
• 8:59
Speaker 6: we could so, I guess from the Fourth Court of
• 9:01
Speaker 6: Appeals reversing a lower court ruled and as pertains to
• 9:04
  Speaker 6: gender affirming surgeries.
• 9:06
  Speaker 7: Talk about that.
• 9:07
Speaker 4: Yeah, so the Fourth Circuit has ruled, based on a
• 9:11
Speaker 4: Supreme Court case called Scremmetti, that West Virginia's law that
• 9:16
Speaker 4: pertains to prisoners, you know, custodians of the state from
• 9:20
Speaker 4: getting taxpayer funded gender reassignment surgery.
• 9:24
  Speaker 9: Uh.
• 9:24
Speaker 4: And this is really common sense, right that the the
• 9:27
Speaker 4: idea that the people of West Virginia should be paying
• 9:31
Speaker 4: for a murderer to reassign their gender and then be
• 9:35
Speaker 4: placed in a women's prison as a biological male is
• 9:39
Speaker 4: asinine and and kind of insane. And the superior and
• 9:43
Speaker 4: the Fourth Circuit has correctly ruled in our favor that
• 9:46
Speaker 4: West Virginia's law is constitutional and that the taxpayers West
• 9:49
Speaker 4: Virginia shouldn't be paying for these surgeries.
• 9:51
Speaker 6: I mean, I guess the big question would be why
• 9:53
Speaker 6: why would someone think that's my opinion, why would someone
• 9:55
Speaker 6: think the taxpayers should pay for those anyway.
• 9:57
Speaker 4: Well, the only people that think that the taxpayer should
• 10:00
Speaker 4: be paying for those things are the prisoners, which is
• 10:02
Speaker 4: why this is such a common sense ruling. And you know, uh,
• 10:06
Speaker 4: just to get back to it, you know, we argue
• 10:08
Speaker 4: the women's sports case a couple of months ago to
• 10:10
Speaker 4: the Supreme Court were waiting on the on the ruling
• 10:12
Speaker 4: on that. But the part of that case that was
• 10:14
Speaker 4: really the most insidious was that the the aco u's
• 10:19
Speaker 4: argument was that if you reassign gender young enough that
• 10:24
Speaker 4: people never that that little boys never become men, right,
• 10:27
Speaker 4: and so you can change essentially what their birth their
• 10:31
Speaker 4: birth sex is. And so this is really part of
• 10:34
Speaker 4: this really disturbing trend in this area of medicine, where
• 10:39
Speaker 4: it is seen as something that that doesn't have any
• 10:43
Speaker 4: true medical backing, and the attempt is to force the
• 10:47
Speaker 4: taxpayers to pay for these kind of surgeries. But the
• 10:52
Speaker 4: problem is is that we know that children, they don't
• 10:55
Speaker 4: understand these concepts, and so there's really only one kind
• 10:58
Speaker 4: of child who gets a gender reassignment surgery, and that
• 11:02
Speaker 4: is a child with a parent who thinks that their
• 11:04
Speaker 4: child needs it. And you know, we need to be
• 11:07
Speaker 4: keeping our hands off of keep these doctors hands off
• 11:09
Speaker 4: of our kids, and we need to be making sure
• 11:11
Speaker 4: that taxpayers aren't funding these these kind of surgeries.
• 11:14
Speaker 7: Talking again with Attorney General JB. Mccusky.
• 11:16
Speaker 6: Now, someone somewhere JB had the bright ideat to ban
• 11:20
  Speaker 6: gas appliances.
• 11:21
Speaker 4: Yep, they sure did not just gas appliances, gas furnaces,
• 11:26
Speaker 4: and gas stoves. Okay, why because you know, as we
• 11:30
Speaker 4: can tell outside today, that global warming is an existential
• 11:34
Speaker 4: threat to all of humanity and that the number one
• 11:38
Speaker 4: cause of those things just happens to be the number
• 11:40
Speaker 4: one products of the states that these people don't like.
• 11:43
Speaker 7: All right, But but your office got involved in this somehow.
• 11:46
Speaker 4: Yeah, So we filed a lead amaricust brief on behalf
• 11:48
Speaker 4: of twenty seven states asking the Supreme Court to overturn
• 11:52
Speaker 4: a truly ridiculous, a truly ridiculous rule set forth by
• 11:58
Speaker 4: the EPA that would in the next few years ban
• 12:01
Speaker 4: Americans essentially from owning gas furnaces and gas stoves, which
• 12:05
Speaker 4: would require every single person in West Virginia who's you know,
• 12:09
Speaker 4: live in paycheck to paycheck to buy a twenty five
• 12:12
Speaker 4: thousand dollars or thirty thousand dollars electric furnace over the
• 12:15
Speaker 4: next few years to replace their efficient, low cost gas
• 12:19
Speaker 4: furnace that works better and in totality is more environmentally
• 12:23
Speaker 4: friendly than the electric versions of those things. We know
• 12:27
Speaker 4: they're less efficient and actually have a if you're somebody
• 12:31
Speaker 4: who is into these kind of things, they have a
• 12:33
Speaker 4: significantly higher carbon footprint than even the gas ones because
• 12:36
Speaker 4: gas is a naturally occurring element that has been used
• 12:39
Speaker 4: to heat homes and heat coal actually for that matter,
• 12:45
Speaker 4: for two hundred years. And so we are we're really
• 12:48
Speaker 4: proud to be standing up for West Virginia consumers. Is
• 12:50
Speaker 4: as we know, there's been a war on consumers for
• 12:54
Speaker 4: the last eight or so years. Prices have been skyrocketing,
• 12:58
Speaker 4: and this is a big way for us to fight
• 13:00
Speaker 4: back and make sure that our consumers have access to
• 13:02
Speaker 4: things they can afford.
• 13:04
Speaker 6: It's it's tax season, it is taxing and people who
• 13:07
Speaker 6: get tax refunds always look forward to them coming in.
• 13:10
Speaker 6: It is important to know, though, and your office has
• 13:12
Speaker 6: been all over this, that you're not going to get
• 13:15
Speaker 6: anything by text or by email or by social media.
• 13:19
Speaker 6: I mean you might from your tax prepare er, correct,
• 13:21
Speaker 6: but you're not going to get it from the irs.
• 13:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, if it feels weird, it is weird that the
• 13:26
Speaker 4: official communications that you're going to be getting about your
• 13:28
Speaker 4: taxes and your tax refunds, et cetera. And to everybody
• 13:31
Speaker 4: out there, remember a tax refund is really the government
• 13:33
Speaker 4: keeping your money for a lot longer than they should,
• 13:35
Speaker 4: not paying you any interest on it. So you should
• 13:37
Speaker 4: be trying to get a zero tax refund and keeping
• 13:39
Speaker 4: your money as you go along. But but yeah, if
• 13:42
Speaker 4: the government is going to be communicating about your taxes,

• 13:53
Speaker 4: It happens every year, and it's happening right now, and
• 13:55
Speaker 4: it's really insidious and it's it's awful, and we do
• 13:58
Speaker 4: everything we can to stop these things. But really that

• 14:17
Speaker 4: with the coaches of her girls basketball. It's the coolest
• 14:22
Speaker 4: thing in the world. Our women's basketball team is ranked
• 14:24

• 15:16
Speaker 6: Though I did kind of know that, But but I
• 15:19
Speaker 6: don't know hardly anything else now.
• 15:21
Speaker 4: And do you know some stuff you know about baseball
• 15:23
Speaker 4: teams that are mediocre and happen since forever? As rocking
• 15:26
Speaker 4: my reds geared today Pirates this year watch out. I
• 15:29

• 15:34
Speaker 3: But the Pirates are for real this year.
• 15:36
Speaker 6: Well, the problem is is that Paul Skeens is not
• 15:38
Speaker 6: the only member of the team. And he doesn't he
• 15:40
Speaker 6: doesn't hit in play in every position, And you.
• 15:43
Speaker 3: Don't know that. You don't know what our strategy is

• 18:38
Speaker 7: Can you do it?

  Speaker 14: Like?
• 18:39
Speaker 7: Can you do like.
• 18:40
Speaker 6: Total eclipse of the hard course? I was thinking you to,
• 18:45
Speaker 6: but you're not sick. You tell me you just something
• 18:47
  Speaker 6: to happen.
• 18:48
Speaker 12: This happens. Everybody in the office knows. This happens every
• 18:52
Speaker 12: March April and Brock and Hughes was just on. You
• 18:55
Speaker 12: talked about it. Anytime we go from like sixty five
• 18:58
Speaker 12: degrees to thirty two degrees. So normally this happens in
• 19:02
Speaker 12: March and April or September. In October, I lose my voice.
• 19:06
Speaker 12: Plus we've had obviously a lot going on, and so,
• 19:12
Speaker 12: you know, chairing meetings and just out and about. It's
• 19:15
Speaker 12: just has been a it's been a whirlwind. But yeah,
• 19:18
Speaker 12: yesterday it was so exciting to be able to stand
• 19:22
Speaker 12: with Rob Faulkner, the new operator of the Charleston Theater Company.
• 19:28
Speaker 12: We're so excited to have him and his team, who
• 19:32
Speaker 12: has a tremendous amount of experience. These are former employees
• 19:37
Speaker 12: of park Place Cinemas. They were there yesterday to help
• 19:41
Speaker 12: us make this announcement. And so there's a little confusion
• 19:45
Speaker 12: out there. Somebody sent me this, Uh, you know, you
• 19:48
Speaker 12: can't by the way, Dave, you can't believe everything you
• 19:51
Speaker 12: see on social media?
• 19:52
  Speaker 7: What FYI?
• 19:53
Speaker 12: What you can't? Anyway, somebody said the city is going
• 19:57
Speaker 12: to run the theater. No, no, no, we own the building.
• 20:01
Speaker 12: We owned the building and we own the parking garage
• 20:04
Speaker 12: and so this is a lease. And so the company
• 20:08
Speaker 12: has leased this for it's in council. We brought it
• 20:13
Speaker 12: to council last night after working with the new operators
• 20:17
Speaker 12: to get a lease, and so it is one year
• 20:20
Speaker 12: with the option to renew another two years and one
• 20:24
Speaker 12: year increments. And so not only are they going to
• 20:28
Speaker 12: pay all of the utilities, which by the way, we're
• 20:30
Speaker 12: paying now since May of twenty twenty four, when the
• 20:35
Speaker 12: Park Place Cinemas closed its doors, we started doing that
• 20:38
Speaker 12: and we weren't getting any revenue. So this is now
• 20:40
Speaker 12: fifty cents a ticket playing all the utilities. So to
• 20:44
Speaker 12: say that this was just an incredible, incredible opportunity for
• 20:49
Speaker 12: us with folks who know what they're doing. And oh,
• 20:52
Speaker 12: by the way, and it was a reminder yesterday when
• 20:56
Speaker 12: we were pooling yesterday morning, all of the movies that
• 21:00
Speaker 12: are coming out in April, in May and June and July,
• 21:05
Speaker 12: that's it's the season for all of these movies. So
• 21:08
Speaker 12: these are the first thing. I mean, goodness, gracious, I
• 21:11
Speaker 12: mean you're talking about the new Mario movie, which my
• 21:15
Speaker 12: boys loved, Mario and Luigi and when is that for Halloween?
• 21:18
Speaker 12: I can't tell you how many times anyway, and Spider
• 21:21
Speaker 12: Man and the Devil Ware's product too, and there's just
• 21:24
Speaker 12: an amazing amount of really good movies but you know,
• 21:29
Speaker 12: everybody who we spoke yesterday and everybody who called in
• 21:32
Speaker 12: the office and texted an emailed, said not necessarily about
• 21:36
Speaker 12: the movies. It was the experience. Oh my gosh. I
• 21:38
Speaker 12: love the days of going downtown, having dinner and seeing
• 21:41
Speaker 12: a show, or going to see a show and then
• 21:43
Speaker 12: having you know, drinks afterwards. That is what we're looking
• 21:46
Speaker 12: forward to having yet again in that facility. You know,
• 21:51
Speaker 12: the arcade is coming back, which is so great. I
• 21:54
Speaker 12: talked to Rob yesterday, the operator, who said it was
• 21:58
Speaker 12: part of what people would come to do. I mean,
• 22:01
Speaker 12: you know, see a show, do the arcades. They're going
• 22:03
Speaker 12: to make it available to everybody. If you're coming to
• 22:06
Speaker 12: see a show or not, you can get some popcorn,
• 22:08
Speaker 12: get a snack, get a soda pop and go to
• 22:10
Speaker 12: the arcade. Something fun for folks to do. You know,
• 22:14
Speaker 12: we talk about all the time what makes a vibrant
• 22:18
Speaker 12: city or what makes a vibrant area. It's lots of
• 22:21
Speaker 12: things to see and do. That's what it is. It's
• 22:23
  Speaker 12: the arcade, it's a movie, it's supper it's cocktails, it's
• 22:27
Speaker 12: doing a little shopping. It's park and play if you will.
• 22:30
Speaker 12: So yesterday was just a wonderful announcement with a wonderful
• 22:34
Speaker 12: family last night, Rob and his wife Lauren, and their
• 22:38
Speaker 12: youngest who was there during the announcement with her dad.
• 22:42
Speaker 12: She was so cute. She had little stars like movie
• 22:44
Speaker 12: stars in her hair. She had tied up on top
• 22:47
Speaker 12: of her head. Yesterday they met at the movie theater.
• 22:49
Speaker 12: They met, really his wife met at that movie theater,
• 22:55
Speaker 12: which was just absolutely incredible. So you know, as he said,
• 22:59
Speaker 12: this theater takes me back, and I have a love
• 23:02
Speaker 12: that runs deep in this movie theater. This is my heart.
• 23:07
Speaker 12: This is what my family, so we know how to do.
• 23:10
Speaker 12: And to say that we have such a passion and
• 23:13
Speaker 12: a love for this is the understatement. It's where he
• 23:15
Speaker 12: married his wife. I mean, it's just it's an incredible opportunity.
• 23:18
Speaker 7: So it's going to be first run movies first.
• 23:21
Speaker 6: Because here's the reason that I guess when I first
• 23:24
Speaker 6: heard that this was a thing, I thought, because what
• 23:26
Speaker 6: the what a lot of these theaters have done like
• 23:28
Speaker 6: this is they do like specials. They'll do like you know,
• 23:31
Speaker 6: classic movies, the fiftieth anniversary of this or so, and
• 23:34
Speaker 6: they might they might still do that. We're talking about
• 23:37
Speaker 6: first run movies though.
• 23:38
Speaker 12: Yes, sir, So there are eleven theaters, and so nine
• 23:41
Speaker 12: of them will be first run movies. But you know
• 23:43
Speaker 12: the two, if you know anything about park plus, you
• 23:45
Speaker 12: have got two kind of off to the side. That
• 23:47
Speaker 12: is not to say that they won't do the fiftieth
• 23:50
Speaker 12: anniversary or the this in those theaters, which I think
• 23:54
Speaker 12: is an amazing idea. By the way, as well, I
• 23:57
Speaker 12: will I will give credit where credit is due. The
• 23:59
Speaker 12: West Virgin International Film Festival also had a showing in
• 24:03
Speaker 12: the theater. It was really really well attended, and that's
• 24:08
Speaker 12: an opportunity for us too and the operators to collaborate
• 24:12
Speaker 12: with them as well to do specialty films, international films,
• 24:17
Speaker 12: anniversary films in those two theaters. But the nine main
• 24:22
Speaker 12: theaters that when you go in to the left and
• 24:24
Speaker 12: kind of circling around, will be first run. And you
• 24:27
Speaker 12: know it's, by the way, it's an aggressive timeline. And
• 24:31
Speaker 12: let me tell you the real reason why I am
• 24:36
Speaker 12: excited and optimistic about their April one launch is our
• 24:42
Speaker 12: city team and again credit director Terry Allen and our
• 24:48
Speaker 12: entire parking department has literally been working there several days
• 24:55
Speaker 12: a week. Ivan, I'll give Ivan and Danny shout out
• 24:58
Speaker 12: our maintenance team. They are in in that theater. And
• 25:01
Speaker 12: if you walked in that theater yesterday when we all said,
• 25:03
Speaker 12: oh my gosh, last week, you know this is coming
• 25:05
Speaker 12: up and the owners or the new operators want to,
• 25:08
Speaker 12: you know, do a little press with us in this theater.
• 25:11
Speaker 12: In my head, I thought, oh, wonder what we need
• 25:13
Speaker 12: to do to get ready.
• 25:15
Speaker 5: It was ready to go.
• 25:16
Speaker 12: It was ready because these guys took care as we
• 25:21
Speaker 12: do with such care, and our maintenance team does an
• 25:24
Speaker 12: incredible job. It was it was ready. It was ready,
• 25:28
Speaker 12: and so you know, there is a reason why it
• 25:31
Speaker 12: was an easy approach with these folks is because our
• 25:35
Speaker 12: city team. Not only do they keep the lights on,
• 25:38
Speaker 12: but they keep things clean and a lot of maintenance
• 25:41
Speaker 12: goes into the buildings that we have. And so it's
• 25:45
Speaker 12: because of our city team, which is why if anybody
• 25:47
Speaker 12: saw the photos that we had, and you had a
• 25:50
Speaker 12: couple here as well that were posted, that was sure.
• 25:54
Speaker 12: Rob Faulkner, the owner, and his wife and his daughter,
• 25:56
Speaker 12: and some of the other folks who have really had
• 25:59
Speaker 12: a passion like my for who used to work Park
• 26:02
Speaker 12: Place Cinemas, who literally knows every seat in every theater.
• 26:06
Speaker 12: He can tell you the county can tell you how tall,
• 26:10
Speaker 12: he can tell you how tall the ceilings are. But
• 26:13
Speaker 12: the rest of them are city employees, and I asked
• 26:15
Speaker 12: Director Allen to bring them and to stand with us
• 26:18
Speaker 12: because they needed recognition for all of the hard work,
• 26:22
Speaker 12: because you know, I say all the time, Dave, I'm
• 26:24
Speaker 12: one of seven hundred plus employees and I get to,
• 26:29
Speaker 12: you know, be upfront, and I'm super proud. But they
• 26:32
Speaker 12: do a lot of the heavy lifting. And so we
• 26:35
Speaker 12: were incredibly proud to stand there with them yesterday and
• 26:38
Speaker 12: also say thank you to them as well. We did
• 26:40
Speaker 12: have popcorn yesterday, not the the popcorn, and that was
• 26:44
Speaker 12: the other thing people said, is the popcorn coming back?
• 26:46
Speaker 6: Oh yes, all right, Oh yes, Well, I'm I happy
• 26:50
Speaker 6: to be married to someone who is a popcorn fiend.
• 26:53
Speaker 7: Just so you know.
• 26:54
Speaker 6: She mentioned to me yesterday, and I think I've gotten
• 26:56
Speaker 6: She'll tell me if I'm wrong, but she frequently does,
• 27:00
Speaker 6: because I frequently am. But I think that back in
• 27:04
Speaker 6: the day, I think that she saw Rocky Horror Picture show.
• 27:07
Speaker 6: Oh there, that's kind of her thing.
• 27:09
Speaker 12: As a teenagers rock We used to take the boys
• 27:12
Speaker 12: there for our boys who just loved, loved, loved movies
• 27:17
Speaker 12: still do Sammy, My, Sammy, I and Bodie. Did you
• 27:22
Speaker 12: know I embodi a local artist. Charleston artists absolutely wonderful
• 27:24
Speaker 12: does family like you know, paintings and all of the things.
• 27:28
Speaker 12: And in one of ours it's Sam in front of
• 27:31
Speaker 12: a movie reel because it's that's his jam. We used
• 27:36
Speaker 12: to have birthday parties there for him all the time.
• 27:38
Speaker 12: Those things are back and it is absolutely refreshing to
• 27:42
Speaker 12: know that that piece of history, that location that held
• 27:47
Speaker 12: so many wonderful memories for so many of our folks.
• 27:51
Speaker 7: What's a time on as far as I mean, how
• 27:53
Speaker 7: long was it aggressive?
• 27:54
Speaker 3: Well, how long was it open?
• 27:55
Speaker 7: I mean, I mean how how many When was it?
• 27:56
Speaker 7: When when was it started? Do you have any idea?
• 27:58
Speaker 12: Oh my gosh, nineteen eighty.
• 28:00
Speaker 7: Nineteen eighty okay, yeah, long, long, long line.
• 28:02
Speaker 12: Twenty four Yeah, May seventh, seventh, okay, that first weekend.
• 28:06
Speaker 6: But as far as the timeline goes, now, April first,
• 28:08
Speaker 6: is that what you're said, that's.
• 28:09
Speaker 12: What that is what they are shooting for, and they're
• 28:11
Speaker 12: shooting for, you know, the pop of these really awesome
• 28:15
  Speaker 12: spring and summer.
• 28:16
Speaker 7: It'll stop snow in by then Brian Hughes.
• 28:18
Speaker 12: My goodness, it's all him in the green room and
• 28:22
Speaker 12: he said, ah, it's because he knows my voice. He said, ah,
• 28:25
Speaker 12: it's that time of year again. And apparently it was
• 28:28
Speaker 12: a record like going from this degree to this.
• 28:30
Speaker 6: Seventy degrees at midnight and like in the twenties by
• 28:33
Speaker 6: the end of the day. But welcome to spring in Appalachia.
• 28:38
  Speaker 6: A couple of things. I know you're busy. A couple
• 28:40
Speaker 6: of things I wanted to get to.
• 28:42
  Speaker 5: One.
• 28:42
Speaker 6: We had a text and somebody asking for anubdate out
• 28:44
Speaker 6: of the Municipal Auditorium.
• 28:45
Speaker 12: But we have anything, Thank you so much. Yes, the
• 28:47
Speaker 12: Municipal Auditorium. The committee which is hosted by the Coliseum
• 28:51
Speaker 12: and Convention Center. They're three members of the board, three
• 28:54
Speaker 12: members of Charleston City Council. They met and let me
• 28:57
Speaker 12: not lie to you three weeks ago or so to
• 29:00
Speaker 12: review the architects and engineers report. And so what they
• 29:05
Speaker 12: are doing now is they are bringing in folks who
• 29:08
Speaker 12: are experts in the field who have built or refurbished
• 29:13
Speaker 12: different municipal auditoriums or lake theaters across the country to
• 29:18
Speaker 12: give them a better understanding. So with the committee asked
• 29:21
Speaker 12: of not only the Colisseum and Convention Center team, but
• 29:26
Speaker 12: us is to say, okay, now we have to make
• 29:28
Speaker 12: a decision on where do we go from here. And
• 29:31
Speaker 12: so that was their ask and so that will be
• 29:33
Speaker 12: the next step in this process, all right.
• 29:36
Speaker 6: And of course the population of Charleston is about the
• 29:38
Speaker 6: double right now because of the boys stayed basketball trying now.
• 29:41
Speaker 7: So it was a great week last.
• 29:42
Speaker 6: Week with the girls coming in and the boys coming
• 29:44
Speaker 6: in this week to actually action is underway as we
• 29:48
Speaker 6: speak over the Colicgman conventions.
• 29:49
Speaker 7: And first of all, the seats are great, and the
• 29:51
  Speaker 7: news great.
• 29:52
Speaker 12: Seats are absolutely great. They're beautiful, they're uniform, and so
• 29:57
Speaker 12: you know, attention to detail putting them in, cleaning them,
• 30:01
Speaker 12: maintaining them. But my you know, text and emails and
• 30:05
Speaker 12: calls of thanks for parents who by the way, I
• 30:08
Speaker 12: have been one of them in years past, who are
• 30:11
Speaker 12: sitting in those seats for a very long period of
• 30:13
Speaker 12: time into our cheer families. And so we're very excited
• 30:17
Speaker 12: to once again host. We made that investment because that's
• 30:21
Speaker 12: our building. If here we go back to the building conversation.
• 30:24
Speaker 12: Infrastructure is important and you may not think about that
• 30:27
Speaker 12: as infrastructure. You know, I know Tim Brady is on
• 30:31
Speaker 12: the show quite a bit and he would tell you
• 30:33
Speaker 12: it is millions of dollars of economic impact that has
• 30:37
Speaker 12: returned not too directly to the city of Charleston a smidge,
• 30:41
Speaker 12: but it is into the pockets of our retail shops,
• 30:47
Speaker 12: our restaurants, hotels, with hosting so many wonderful families from
• 30:53
Speaker 12: all across the mountain state. G dub plays on Thursday,
• 30:57
Speaker 12: So we're super excited to watch the Patriots.
• 31:00
Speaker 6: But there's some exciting I mean, but we've got Riverside
• 31:04
Speaker 6: there'll be in the tournament for the first time since
• 31:06
Speaker 6: two thousand and two. The Wayne Pioneers are there for
• 31:08
Speaker 6: the first time ever. And then if you look at
• 31:11
Speaker 6: tomorrow night, uh, you've got Chapmanville Regional playing in the
• 31:15
Speaker 6: five o'clock, followed by that team from Logan. After that, Uh,
• 31:19
Speaker 6: they're playing Wyomings. And then you've got Winfield and Ripley if.
• 31:23
Speaker 12: They're Ripley High, the Vikings, the Blue and White, the whole.
• 31:26
Speaker 6: Dang town, led by Mayor Raider, will be will be
• 31:31
  Speaker 6: here by.
• 31:32
Speaker 12: The way, they will be by the way they will.
• 31:34
Speaker 7: Be that those teams alone right there.
• 31:37
Speaker 6: I mean when you talk about Chapmanville and you talk
• 31:39
Speaker 6: about Logan, and you talk about Ripley, of course Winfield
• 31:42
Speaker 6: just one county over.
• 31:44
  Speaker 7: I mean, they're they're.
• 31:45
Speaker 6: Gonna be there, gonna be some all the games are
• 31:47
Speaker 6: exciting and the crowds all come out for him. But
• 31:49
Speaker 6: tomorrow night is especially gonna be off the hook. I
• 31:52
Speaker 6: mean really because of the teams.
• 31:54
Speaker 12: It's gonna be really right, real quick.
• 31:55
Speaker 7: Before we let you go. You had council last night
• 31:57
Speaker 7: and budget through the budget last night.
• 31:59
  Speaker 5: Yeah, we did.
• 32:00
Speaker 7: Talk about give me forty five seconds off.
• 32:02
Speaker 12: Yeah, really exciting last night. We invested in our employees,
• 32:06
Speaker 12: we invested in our infrastructure, we invested in our services.
• 32:11
Speaker 12: And as a matter of fact, I just got an
• 32:14
Speaker 12: email this morning from our Chief of Police who reached
• 32:18
Speaker 12: out not only to me, but to our council members
• 32:20
Speaker 12: to say thank you on behalf of the officers and
• 32:24
Speaker 12: the police department for the continued support. I heard from
• 32:27
Speaker 12: members of the fire department, our street department, our refuse
• 32:30
Speaker 12: department of saying thanks for thanks for looking at everyone
• 32:35
Speaker 12: in this city and making sure that you know this
• 32:38
Speaker 12: is we do service. Who's that's what we are in
• 32:41
Speaker 12: municipal government, and so we have to take care of
• 32:44
Speaker 12: those three pockets of folks. We need to take care
• 32:47
Speaker 12: of our people, our infrastructure, and our services. And I
• 32:50
Speaker 12: think that that budget that we passed with flying colors
• 32:54
Speaker 12: last night reflects those commitments to our people, our places,
• 32:59
Speaker 12: and our great services.
• 33:00
Speaker 6: When I was putting together the notes and I was
• 33:01
Speaker 6: reading the lead story this morning about the theater going
• 33:03
Speaker 6: back to that at we metronews dot com, the only
• 33:06
Speaker 6: thing that kept going through my head was that song
• 33:08
Speaker 6: that he's played, Concession.
• 33:09
Speaker 7: Let's all go to the movie. We should sing that, No, No.
• 33:12
Speaker 6: We should, Charleston Marre, Amy Schulder, good one, appreciate you
• 33:15
Speaker 6: being here. Thanks a lot, twenty minutes away from ten

• 36:30
Speaker 6: be questioned about how shouldn't be questioned about how we

Speaker 6: Steven Allen at who was around during the nineteen eighties,
• 37:01
Speaker 6: but more of it. You're more of a nineties guy,
• 37:03
  Speaker 6: right two thousands?
• 37:05
  Speaker 5: Oh no.
• 37:05
Speaker 9: If I consider myself a very young gen xer, I
• 37:10
Speaker 9: think the term that I've heard bandied about is xenial. Okay,
• 37:14
Speaker 9: I mean age wise, I follow in the millennial category.
• 37:16
  Speaker 9: But sorry, I'm a Reagan kid and I like I
• 37:21
Speaker 9: like gen gen x things.
• 37:22
Speaker 6: Okay, all right, so I guess I would be a
• 37:25
Speaker 6: if I can somehow put these words together, A maybe
• 37:29
  Speaker 6: a joomer.
• 37:30
  Speaker 7: I'm gen x but I think like a boomer in
• 37:32
Speaker 7: a lot of ways.
• 37:33
Speaker 9: There you go, Yeah, that's yeah, that's a good way
• 37:35
Speaker 9: to boomer. A goomer, goober.
• 37:38
  Speaker 5: Goomer.
• 37:40
Speaker 6: Steven Allen Adams working to the newspapers is here, Welcome
• 37:42
Speaker 6: to the show. Another sessions in the books. I didn't
• 37:47
Speaker 6: have to ask for editorial comment. You just you see
• 37:50
Speaker 6: the front of the gazette mail this morning. There's a
• 37:52
Speaker 6: picture of I'm holding this up to the microphone like
• 37:55
Speaker 6: people can see it.
• 37:56
  Speaker 4: Uh.
• 37:56
Speaker 6: There's a picture of Delegate David Pritt out of Fayette County,
• 37:59
Speaker 6: face down on his desk, big color picture in in
• 38:02
Speaker 6: front of the paper this morning.
• 38:03
Speaker 7: So I guess that summed it up for a lot
• 38:05
Speaker 7: of people. Your takeaway as.
• 38:07
Speaker 9: A journalist, well, yeah, he had every right to put
• 38:11
Speaker 9: his head on his desk in in those last forty
• 38:13
Speaker 9: five minutes of the session. It's kind of what I
• 38:16
Speaker 9: thought it would be over to sixty days. Honestly. You know,
• 38:21
Speaker 9: you always have different things to pop up during session,
• 38:23
Speaker 9: but it really wasn't as a whole overly controversial, and
• 38:30
Speaker 9: also as a whole, a lot of things that they
• 38:33
Speaker 9: did were kind of minor, not bad things. I mean,
• 38:37
Speaker 9: you got the House of Delegates, the Republican Caucus that
• 38:40
Speaker 9: focused on economic development through their Jobs First platform, and
• 38:43
Speaker 9: they got a lot of that across the finish line,
• 38:46
Speaker 9: and a lot of that I've heard described. I think
• 38:48
Speaker 9: TJ has even described it this way as like one hitters,
• 38:51
Speaker 9: but taken together, there are things that will help move
• 38:55
Speaker 9: the ball and could actually help kind of incentivize business.
• 38:59
Speaker 9: So you've got that, but they are kind of small
• 39:02
Speaker 9: things in and of themselves. You got tax cut across
• 39:05
  Speaker 9: the board five percent e we I mean, I don't
• 39:09
Speaker 9: know that people are that excited because now that we've
• 39:11
Speaker 9: had a few tax cuts, I don't know if anyone
• 39:13
Speaker 9: can really tell you how they've benefited from any of them.
• 39:17
Speaker 9: But that's across the board. Three percent pay raise for
• 39:21
Speaker 9: state employees, eh. I mean, they don't really know exactly
• 39:26
Speaker 9: how that's gonna help or hurt them. It's better or nothing,
• 39:28
Speaker 9: but doesn't really help overall. I mean I would say
• 39:33
Speaker 9: that they played it kind of safe this session going
• 39:36
Speaker 9: into an electioneer as you would expect.
• 39:38
Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean every House seat is up in several
• 39:40
Speaker 6: of the Senate seats are up as well, so it's
• 39:42
Speaker 6: I mean there is something to be said about Okay,
• 39:45
Speaker 6: so I got a at Well, let me take care
• 39:46
Speaker 6: of this first to Dave Allen Show on five eighty Live.
• 39:48
Speaker 6: Brought to you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. When environmental
• 39:51

• 40:03
Speaker 6: because what you don't know can't hurt you, all right,
• 40:05
Speaker 6: So what'd you make of that last forty five minutes
• 40:07
  Speaker 6: to an hour?
• 40:08
  Speaker 5: Huh?
• 40:09
Speaker 9: Well, I mean, I've never quite seen anything like that,
• 40:12
Speaker 9: with the parliamentary procedure demotions, trying to limit debate, trying
• 40:16
Speaker 9: to keep debate to like five minutes, I've never seen
• 40:18
Speaker 9: anything quite like how all that shook out, especially the
• 40:23
Speaker 9: passion from the speeches you got Adam burghammer Republican at
• 40:26
  Speaker 9: Lewis County, who.
• 40:27
Speaker 6: Will, by the way editor's note beyond Metro News Midday today,
• 40:30
  Speaker 6: we go ahead.
• 40:30
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, given his passionate speech against ultimately the
• 40:34
Speaker 9: Corta Bill, trying to push an amendment of his that
• 40:37
Speaker 9: really kind of shortened the timeframes of substantially in regards
• 40:40
Speaker 9: to when you had to substantiate a CPS investigation of
• 40:45
Speaker 9: child abuse in order to prevent a child from being
• 40:48
Speaker 9: pulled out of public school and putting to homeschool. And
• 40:52
Speaker 9: then on the opposite end of that, you had de'll
• 40:54
Speaker 9: get Elliot Pritt, a FAA County Republican. You had dell
• 40:59
Speaker 9: Get Sean Fluhart, Democrat of Ohio County, that both gave
• 41:02
Speaker 9: passionate speeches trying to trying to get this bill that
• 41:08
Speaker 9: has passed in some form or the other twice previously
• 41:12
Speaker 9: in the House of Deligates across the finish line, and
• 41:15
Speaker 9: technically they did on their side, but none time to
• 41:19
Speaker 9: get it all the way finished because the Senator already
• 41:21
Speaker 9: adjourned sine die, so they couldn't take the message, and
• 41:24
Speaker 9: that killed the bill.
• 41:25
Speaker 6: What do you make of the fact that there were
• 41:26
Speaker 6: several Republicans who have gone on record, Weld being one,
• 41:29
Speaker 6: am Mi Nicole Grady being one. We had the state
• 41:32
Speaker 6: Republican Party chair and Delegate Josh Holstein on the show
• 41:35
Speaker 6: yesterday and he pointed blank he wasn't as vocal about
• 41:38
Speaker 6: it because it's not really Holstein style, but he point
• 41:41
Speaker 6: blank on the show yesterday said I was one of
• 41:43
Speaker 6: those that was very disappointed and was and one supported
• 41:47
  Speaker 6: this bill.
• 41:48
  Speaker 7: Weld Grady.
• 41:49
Speaker 6: They both expressed that they were upset about the fact
• 41:54
Speaker 6: that that the bill died.
• 41:55
Speaker 7: What do you make of that within the Republican Party.
• 41:58
Speaker 9: Well, I mean, and this has been kind of known
• 42:00
Speaker 9: for a few years. Of course, Like I said, it's
• 42:02
Speaker 9: come out of the House twice. Senate usually bottles it
• 42:05
Speaker 9: up somehow. This is the first year that you had
• 42:08
Speaker 9: Republicans on the Senate side really say we're going to
• 42:11
Speaker 9: do this. You know, the bill that they had there
• 42:13
Speaker 9: was a standalone bill, got buried in committee allegedly because
• 42:17
Speaker 9: first Lady Denise Morrissey puts the pressure on Chairman Brian
• 42:21
Speaker 9: Helton of the Health Committee Senate Health Committee. But what
• 42:23
Speaker 9: they ended up doing is amending that into another bill.
• 42:27
Speaker 9: They had to overcome a ruling of the chair Senate
• 42:30
Speaker 9: President Randy Smith that the entire amendment as amended was
• 42:36
Speaker 9: not germane to the bill. They rejected that. They overruled that.
• 42:41
Speaker 9: They got it out to the House Friday night at
• 42:45
Speaker 9: the House, had the message first thing Saturday morning.
• 42:48
Speaker 7: But there are those that say that they didn't get
• 42:50
  Speaker 7: it till later.
• 42:51
Speaker 9: Yeah, and they're all wrong. They had it as of
• 42:55
Speaker 9: around nine am. And I've had that from multiple sources,
• 43:00
Speaker 9: including the Senate Clerk's office. Maine and Nicely has that
• 43:02
Speaker 9: too in a wonderful article that she had today.
• 43:05
Speaker 7: Now kJ said the same thing.
• 43:06
Speaker 5: Ye, well, they had it.
• 43:07
Speaker 9: Now there's different reasons why they take different messages up
• 43:11
Speaker 9: when they take them up, and a lot of times
• 43:13
Speaker 9: they do push some more difficult stuff.
• 43:14
Speaker 5: To the evening. That's not unusual.
• 43:17
Speaker 9: But considering this got Christmas Tree to death from the
• 43:20
Speaker 9: amendment stage, bringing it up for forty five minutes and
• 43:23
Speaker 9: then letting some of the emotions get out of control
• 43:26
Speaker 9: as far as limiting time, and a lot of people
• 43:30
Speaker 9: try to well, how much time did that person have,
• 43:33
Speaker 9: you know, like he really got confusing towards the end,
• 43:36
Speaker 9: all that could have been controlled, you know, when the
• 43:40
Speaker 9: bill got brought up, and all this stuff could have
• 43:42
Speaker 9: been controlled by House Speaker Roger Hanshaw. So I don't
• 43:45
Speaker 9: know if he intentionally let him get out of hand
• 43:47
Speaker 9: because he supported it from what I understand, but I
• 43:50
Speaker 9: don't know what happened. But you had so many Republicans
• 43:53
Speaker 9: that were in support of this, and if you just
• 43:57
Speaker 9: let it get to the floor for a fair vote,
• 43:59
  Speaker 9: it went.
• 44:00
Speaker 6: And we're talking about Rayleyes Law. By the way, I
• 44:01
Speaker 6: probably should have said it. I'll say this and then
• 44:03
Speaker 6: we'll let you go. One of the things that I've
• 44:06
Speaker 6: been I've heard floated around out there by people who
• 44:08
Speaker 6: follow this stuff a lot more closely than I do.
• 44:10
Speaker 6: Is you know Sean flu Hardy, who we had on
• 44:12
Speaker 6: Metro News mid Day yesterday that I like a flu
• 44:14
Speaker 6: Hardy very very impassioned speech. I mean, it's been a
• 44:16
Speaker 6: long time since I and he's a fiery guy anyway,
• 44:18
Speaker 6: It's been a long time since I've heard that much
• 44:20
Speaker 6: fire come out of the out of the chambers. He
• 44:25
Speaker 6: is running for Senate, yeah, and it's going to be
• 44:27
Speaker 6: a pretty good battle from what I understand up there,
• 44:29
Speaker 6: I have heard people that have said, well, no matter what,
• 44:32
Speaker 6: they were not going to give flu Hardy a win
• 44:35
Speaker 6: because a lot of people think that he has a
• 44:38
Speaker 6: very real chance of winning and they did not want
• 44:41
Speaker 6: him to go out on a quote unquote win.
• 44:43
Speaker 7: Could that you would.
• 44:44
Speaker 9: Say, well, yeah, right now, if you look at I've
• 44:48
Speaker 9: heard different polling up there that has Laura Wakem Chapman,
• 44:50
Speaker 9: the current incumbent senator up there, Republican senator ahead of
• 44:55
Speaker 9: her Republican opponent up there, very respected business guy, but
• 44:59
Speaker 9: hasn't really been and actively campaigning. So if it's between
• 45:03
Speaker 9: her and Sean flu Hardy, I've been told that Sean
• 45:05
Speaker 9: Fluti has a real, real chance. So that's a real
• 45:08
Speaker 9: possibility to kind of die flu hardy to win, but
• 45:11
Speaker 9: also considering that it was Republicans that push it over
• 45:14
Speaker 9: on the Senate side, that could have been mitigated, I think,
• 45:18
Speaker 9: especially since Senator Amy Grady's name is on that bill
• 45:21
Speaker 9: as the lead spots.
• 45:22
Speaker 6: She was one of those that was very upset. Yeah
• 45:24
Speaker 6: it too, Yeah, and I think she's gonna be on
• 45:26
Speaker 6: talk Line today. I think I heard them say that
• 45:28
Speaker 6: where can people read your sup Stephen.
• 45:29
Speaker 9: Parker's were news we only intelligencer, weird in Daily Times,
• 45:32

• 45:35
  Speaker 9: the Midion posts.
• 45:35
Speaker 7: Now what do you do with all your time?
• 45:37
  Speaker 9: I don't know.
• 45:38
Speaker 5: Probably cleaned the press froom.
• 45:39

Speaker 6: JB constantly says the government sucks, wants to work in
• 49:36
Speaker 6: the government, wants to climb the ladder of government and
• 49:38
Speaker 6: has been in the government. It's almost like he's a problem.
• 49:40
Speaker 6: He incessantly cries about, says the texture text says, you
• 49:44
Speaker 6: know how I know JB doesn't know much about anything.
• 49:48
Speaker 6: He thinks the Pirates will be a contender as a

Speaker 6: the texture has gotten so out of control that you
• 50:02
Speaker 6: have to wonder, how long until a man who is

Speaker 6: a warrant scheduled to be executed to serve a prison
• 50:07
Speaker 6: sentence as a sex change and a name change will
• 50:09
