- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six forty six through six forty eight,
- 0:14Speaker 1: the legendary pirate Donchin Jao, Light and Shadow, Darkness behind
- 0:20Speaker 1: Dress Rosa and making a sortie the legendary hero Ussoland
- 0:28Speaker 1: in these episodes. This whole thing with humans being turned
- 0:35Speaker 1: into toys. I don't what even are what is happening
- 0:41Speaker 1: you guys. I have so many more questions even than
- 0:45Speaker 1: I had before. I don't know what to think. I
- 0:50Speaker 1: really don't Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:16Speaker 1: commissioning this episode, and also thank you to Florian for
- 1:20Speaker 1: his patients. As I worked out some scheduling issues, some
- 1:25Speaker 1: of you who follow along may have seen some weird
- 1:29Speaker 1: changes on the crowdcast schedule, and that is my bad.
- 1:34Speaker 1: That is the bad of the booking what do you
- 1:38Speaker 1: call it software? But it's straightened out now, and I
- 1:42Speaker 1: just wanted to also give folks a reminder that if
- 1:46Speaker 1: you are somebody who has trouble making it to the
- 1:51Speaker 1: lives sometimes the schedule, it's not your bad at all. Florian.
- 1:56Speaker 1: This was not your fault in any sense at all.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Thing you did, did anything, don't worry about it. Sorry, guys,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Floren's over here trying to apologize in the chat. But
- 2:07Speaker 1: my schedule is going to be changing permanently starting next
- 2:13Speaker 1: week December twelfth, which is a Thursday, till one week
- 2:18Speaker 1: from today, I will be starting my recordings at two
- 2:23Speaker 1: thirty Central Standard time. Currently I start at four, but
- 2:28Speaker 1: it has been difficult ending at eight pm. It's just
- 2:31Speaker 1: a little bit too late for me to really have
- 2:34Speaker 1: the evening with Owen and to get chores done and
- 2:38Speaker 1: to take Pip into the dog park and all of that.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So I moved everything up to start at two thirty.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And it actually seems to be better for a lot
- 2:46Speaker 1: of my international listeners who are having to stay up
- 2:49Speaker 1: until like two am. So if you are an international listener,
- 2:53Speaker 1: or maybe not, maybe you just like work a later shift,
- 2:56Speaker 1: maybe my starting at two thirty will be good for you,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you will be able to come. So I just thought
- 3:01Speaker 1: I would mention that before I got started. So all right,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I there are so many things to talk about in
- 3:10Speaker 1: this episode, and I'm trying to decide how I want
- 3:14Speaker 1: to do this, because you guys know the way that
- 3:16Speaker 1: this show works and how it jumps from one scene
- 3:18Speaker 1: to another, it can be really difficult for me to
- 3:21Speaker 1: do what I do with other television shows. It's usually
- 3:26Speaker 1: what I do with another show is I just scrub
- 3:28Speaker 1: through it as I'm talking about it from scene to scene,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and mostly it works out. But with this the episodes
- 3:35Speaker 1: are short, so every time I'm covering three, I'm jumping
- 3:39Speaker 1: around even more. And also the scenes are shorter than
- 3:44Speaker 1: in anything else, so you barely even really get a
- 3:47Speaker 1: narrative beat in a whole scene. It's usually the collection
- 3:52Speaker 1: of all of the scenes per episode that is the
- 3:54Speaker 1: narrative beat. So I feel like I just want to
- 3:59Speaker 1: talk about the implications of this new devil fruit power
- 4:06Speaker 1: that we have heard about. We haven't actually seen it yet,
- 4:09Speaker 1: but what we you know, I mentioned about how it's
- 4:16Speaker 1: wild that we get told that there's this like really
- 4:19Speaker 1: sad history of dress Rosa by our toy soldier friend,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and then we just don't get the story from him
- 4:28Speaker 1: for like it's been like ten episodes at least, I
- 4:31Speaker 1: think since he said that, and finally, you guys, we
- 4:35Speaker 1: are getting it, and I am it's not even really
- 4:39Speaker 1: like we get a piece of it, and it's a
- 4:42Speaker 1: pretty crucial piece, granted, but I definitely had a kind
- 4:47Speaker 1: of like come on, because we barely scrape the surface
- 4:51Speaker 1: and then we kind of veer away from it again.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But what we see he brings Frankie to this Uh,
- 5:02Speaker 1: there's like a what's the word I want here? A
- 5:06Speaker 1: bit of a kerfuffle on the street. Kerfuffle, I think
- 5:09Speaker 1: is the word that Rashan would probably use here. And
- 5:13Speaker 1: there is this guy who is and I say, guy,
- 5:18Speaker 1: it's a little toy who is clinging to the leg
- 5:22Speaker 1: of this young woman and trying to tell her that
- 5:26Speaker 1: he is her boyfriend, and please don't hook up with
- 5:32Speaker 1: that guy or with I can't believe that you would
- 5:35Speaker 1: forget your boyfriend this fast. It's me, don't you remember?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Can't you recognize me? And this is our first hint.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But then a few seconds later we get introduced to
- 5:48Speaker 1: a little toy dog who is playing with this little
- 5:51Speaker 1: girl on the street, and we find out that the
- 5:55Speaker 1: toy dog is the child's father, but evidently isn't like
- 6:02Speaker 1: telling anybody that. It seems like the vibe that I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: getting here is he knows nobody is going to believe him,
- 6:08Speaker 1: so he is just going along with pretending to be
- 6:11Speaker 1: a toy in order to have a relationship with his
- 6:14Speaker 1: child of any kind, which is truly just so sad.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I mean, that is really really heartbreaking. And so this
- 6:26Speaker 1: is when we find out that all of the toys
- 6:29Speaker 1: used to be human. And when I say that this
- 6:32Speaker 1: is like a very unsatisfying story beat, what I mean
- 6:38Speaker 1: is we find out that they were human and then
- 6:41Speaker 1: we just bounce from there and he doesn't finish explaining
- 6:44Speaker 1: how that works. And it's not until we have that
- 6:48Speaker 1: art art fruit lady who is yelling at Nami that
- 6:53Speaker 1: we get enough information to start piecing things together. Because no, me,
- 6:59Speaker 1: it's fun that the way that this happens, because I
- 7:04Speaker 1: we have a whole scene where Law is trying to
- 7:06Speaker 1: contact Nami via one of the the transponder snails and
- 7:11Speaker 1: she's not picking up. And I was not sure whether
- 7:14Speaker 1: she wasn't picking up because her transponder snail got transformed
- 7:20Speaker 1: when she got transformed, whether it was because the transponder
- 7:24Speaker 1: snail is on the sunny and she can't reach it
- 7:27Speaker 1: and also maybe got transformed because it was on the sunny,
- 7:30Speaker 1: or if it's just that she's like in the midst
- 7:32Speaker 1: of this battle and is too busy to notice that
- 7:34Speaker 1: it is ringing, which is certainly possible, but I think
- 7:36Speaker 1: maybe it's been transformed regardless. The like Nami pulls out
- 7:45Speaker 1: her weather tool, that like pole thing, and it gets
- 7:51Speaker 1: transformed into this weird sort of like hook shaped, you know.
- 7:57Speaker 1: She calls it a toy, And when she says it's
- 8:01Speaker 1: a toy, the lady gets very irate for just a
- 8:06Speaker 1: second and is like, uh no, the person with the
- 8:10Speaker 1: toy toy fru is somebody else. That's not me. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: made it into art. It's different. So that is the
- 8:17Speaker 1: only info that we get about the fact that their
- 8:21Speaker 1: people are clearly being transformed by a person who is
- 8:24Speaker 1: part of the uh the do Flamingo's Pirates, the Don
- 8:28Speaker 1: Quixote Pirates. And I am so deeply confused about how
- 8:37Speaker 1: this can possibly work. You guys, if people are being
- 8:46Speaker 1: transformed into toys, how like this guy who comes back
- 8:53Speaker 1: and tries to tell this girl, I'm your boyfriend, how
- 8:57Speaker 1: did you forget me already? I have to assume that
- 9:01Speaker 1: there is some other element involved where people's memories are
- 9:07Speaker 1: being messed with by somebody who has another power, or
- 9:12Speaker 1: maybe the person who has the toy toy power is
- 9:15Speaker 1: another type of like they have an additional aspect to
- 9:20Speaker 1: their power, because the fact that it seems like it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: a secret that everybody is being transformed by a person
- 9:30Speaker 1: with a power doesn't really feel possible to me. I mean,
- 9:37Speaker 1: what I mean is just everybody not having put this
- 9:41Speaker 1: together over the course of all this time. And the
- 9:45Speaker 1: only other thing that I have to sort of reach
- 9:49Speaker 1: for here is that there is that statue of that
- 9:54Speaker 1: guy who was outside the coliseum thing, and apparently he
- 10:01Speaker 1: did all of these remarkable things, but also nobody really
- 10:06Speaker 1: remembers him. So my thought is that somebody has a
- 10:10Speaker 1: memory altering power and they did something regarding that guy too,
- 10:14Speaker 1: because that's the only way that this could make sense,
- 10:19Speaker 1: is that a person is like managing the memories of
- 10:23Speaker 1: everybody related to the person who was transformed, because otherwise,
- 10:29Speaker 1: how isn't anyone noticing people missing all over the place.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And it's just a really like the idea that she
- 10:40Speaker 1: had a boyfriend and that he disappeared, and this toy
- 10:44Speaker 1: is telling her that's who he is, and she doesn't
- 10:48Speaker 1: seem to be putting any pieces of this together at all.
- 10:54Speaker 1: That doesn't feel like it could possibly work without their beings,
- 11:00Speaker 1: some sort of magical effect that's happened to her. So
- 11:04Speaker 1: that's all I can work with right now, and it's
- 11:07Speaker 1: the best I can do. But it is so bizarre
- 11:12Speaker 1: to mean that. I mean, Frankie actually says to the
- 11:18Speaker 1: toy soldier in this episode like, even though everything here
- 11:22Speaker 1: is really weird, I've gotten to the point where like
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm used to it already, and I felt like that was.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't know if that actually has anything to do
- 11:35Speaker 1: with the memory thing, you know, if he's being affected
- 11:37Speaker 1: by that, or if it is just sort of like
- 11:40Speaker 1: what occurs to many of us when we live in
- 11:44Speaker 1: a type of culture for long enough that we just
- 11:47Speaker 1: stop thinking about how strange a lot of what we
- 11:50Speaker 1: take for granted about that culture really is when you
- 11:54Speaker 1: step outside of it for a second. But you know,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I was talking like, of course, as I think anybody
- 12:03Speaker 1: would when we first get here, about how is it
- 12:07Speaker 1: that like people and toys are able to mate and
- 12:11Speaker 1: have children? How is it possible that they can like it?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Just all of it didn't really make any sense. So
- 12:23Speaker 1: now the fact that we have that they used to
- 12:25Speaker 1: be humans, it is giving a little bit, not like really,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but it's giving me like a little something that I'm feeling. Okay,
- 12:37Speaker 1: maybe that is something that will make part of it
- 12:42Speaker 1: makes sense. So anyway, this whole revelation is really wild
- 12:49Speaker 1: and apparently like the person who can transform these toys,
- 12:53Speaker 1: it seems like they're very old, and not necessarily that
- 12:57Speaker 1: I'm saying that they themselves are elderly, but that they
- 12:59Speaker 1: must live a long time, because I feel like our
- 13:03Speaker 1: friend the Toy Soldiers says that this has been happening
- 13:08Speaker 1: for like a hundred years or something like, it's gone
- 13:11Speaker 1: back far enough that this has become an acceptable state
- 13:17Speaker 1: of affairs for everybody, And that to me is the
- 13:24Speaker 1: the fact that Frankie says this seems super normal to
- 13:27Speaker 1: him at this point. To me, the implication of that
- 13:34Speaker 1: is that people who come here, they do get so
- 13:39Speaker 1: used to it that once they leave and they like
- 13:43Speaker 1: tell the story. If they get to leave and tell
- 13:45Speaker 1: the story, like, maybe they don't even bother mentioning it
- 13:49Speaker 1: to people, because it doesn't seem that remarkable to anybody else.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But personally, I couldn't help but think, like, aren't there
- 13:56Speaker 1: other folks around the world who hear that there's an
- 13:59Speaker 1: island full of humans and toys and toy human hybrids,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and don't people want to come here and see that?
- 14:06Speaker 1: Like doesn't that seem like saying that this is like
- 14:10Speaker 1: a draw for tourists. I don't feel like that's exactly
- 14:13Speaker 1: the wording I want, But I would think it would
- 14:15Speaker 1: be the type of thing that a lot of people
- 14:17Speaker 1: would be interested in seeing for themselves. I feel like
- 14:20Speaker 1: it's the sort of story that folks would not believe,
- 14:24Speaker 1: and then once they actually got to see it, it
- 14:28Speaker 1: would be like Skypea a little bit, you know. So,
- 14:35Speaker 1: And speaking of Skypea, also, I'll just mention that, like
- 14:37Speaker 1: we had that thing last week with Bellamy and his
- 14:41Speaker 1: like being bribed to go after Loofy, and we don't
- 14:47Speaker 1: get an update on that this episode. I was a
- 14:49Speaker 1: little disappointed. I really want to know, like what it
- 14:51Speaker 1: is that he's thinking of doing, how he's going to
- 14:54Speaker 1: handle it, if he's even gonna attempt it, or if
- 14:56Speaker 1: he's straight up going to try and double cross this
- 14:58Speaker 1: person or what. But don't get an update on that,
- 15:01Speaker 1: so we'll have to wait and see. So let's see,
- 15:07Speaker 1: Florian says the dog toys kid and wife also don't
- 15:10Speaker 1: seem to remember him, so that seems like something's going on.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good point, Florian, because
- 15:15Speaker 1: the I think it's Frankie that asks the woman if
- 15:20Speaker 1: she's married, or maybe it was the toy soldier and
- 15:23Speaker 1: she says, no, I never got married. Is that strange?
- 15:27Speaker 1: And the way she says it is like not like
- 15:32Speaker 1: it's almost like it hasn't occurred to her that she
- 15:35Speaker 1: had to have had a partner in order to have
- 15:39Speaker 1: this child, like the child must have a father, but
- 15:43Speaker 1: that she hasn't really stopped to consider that or who
- 15:46Speaker 1: it might be. And the kid says basically, I never
- 15:51Speaker 1: had one, in a very carefree manner, which if people
- 15:55Speaker 1: are vanishing and turning into toys all the time, I
- 16:00Speaker 1: would assume also that this isn't an unusual situation for
- 16:03Speaker 1: a kid to just straight up be like, I don't
- 16:06Speaker 1: have a dad, And probably there's a bunch of other
- 16:09Speaker 1: kids around that also can say like I don't have
- 16:12Speaker 1: a dad or a mom. I just never have, and
- 16:16Speaker 1: nobody really asks a lot of questions because this is
- 16:19Speaker 1: something that isn't totally unheard of, you know, because obviously,
- 16:26Speaker 1: like the reproduction on this Island is fucking weird anyway,
- 16:33Speaker 1: So I think that they must be just telling kids
- 16:37Speaker 1: that babies happen from a totally different means and method
- 16:42Speaker 1: than they do, because otherwise, how are you going to
- 16:46Speaker 1: sustain this weird story? So yeah, that is that is
- 16:55Speaker 1: the crux of what is going on there. And I
- 16:58Speaker 1: will just say that I am very very interested in
- 17:06Speaker 1: seeing who this person is transforms people into toys, why
- 17:12Speaker 1: they decided to do this at all, because I think,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and this is this is sort of a weird thing.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But what we find out when the what are the
- 17:28Speaker 1: fairies like real they're sort of tribe name, I don't
- 17:34Speaker 1: remember what they're called, but they are talking to USAP
- 17:38Speaker 1: because USAP wants to know what is it that you
- 17:41Speaker 1: guys are going to war for? Like why do you
- 17:44Speaker 1: have a grudge against do Flamingo? And they all start
- 17:49Speaker 1: laughing because they assume that he must be joking because
- 17:54Speaker 1: this is just an ongoing oppression. I guess that they've
- 17:59Speaker 1: been experienced thing, and since he is supposed to be
- 18:02Speaker 1: this legendary hero, they just figured that he knew about this,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but he does not. And it turns out that they
- 18:10Speaker 1: are being like kidnapped and enslaved to work at a factory, which,
- 18:15Speaker 1: of course the first thought that Usap and Robin have
- 18:20Speaker 1: is that it's the factory that produces smile. My thought
- 18:25Speaker 1: was that perhaps the person who is turning people into
- 18:29Speaker 1: toys is doing that to like use them as workers
- 18:35Speaker 1: as well, that perhaps it's it's them being turned into
- 18:39Speaker 1: like automatons, automatons. I feel like it's automatons, that's that.
- 18:45Speaker 1: And there that episode that's titled like making a Sortie.
- 18:49Speaker 1: He says sortie in the uh the voiceover when the
- 18:54Speaker 1: episode begins, But I have actually never heard that words
- 18:58Speaker 1: set out loud, and I've always said SORTI and I
- 19:00Speaker 1: didn't like it, So sortie kind of for me, it
- 19:04Speaker 1: sounds a little bit better, And I feel like I
- 19:06Speaker 1: want to take that pronunciation on, even though I'm not
- 19:10Speaker 1: positive that's correct either, but I'm going to assume that
- 19:15Speaker 1: if it was approved for the voiceover, that is how
- 19:17Speaker 1: you pronounce it. The thing is that, like, there are
- 19:21Speaker 1: plenty of things that get approved that are not correct,
- 19:24Speaker 1: and this is something that you run across in a
- 19:25Speaker 1: lot of like audiobooks as well. So I don't know,
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm just sort of going with it for now, But anyway,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I'm all over the place here, you guys, I'm sorry,
- 19:37Speaker 1: but I was thinking that maybe that is why they're
- 19:39Speaker 1: being transformed, because maybe turning them into toys means that
- 19:46Speaker 1: they don't need rest anymore, or that they don't need
- 19:50Speaker 1: to eat or take bathroom breaks. Like maybe making them
- 19:54Speaker 1: into basically robots eliminates all of the things that would
- 20:00Speaker 1: make human workers inconvenient, And it would be sort of
- 20:04Speaker 1: like a metaphor for our automating a lot of jobs
- 20:10Speaker 1: in the present, you know, the way that we have
- 20:13Speaker 1: and rendering certain positions useless. And it's sort of like,
- 20:19Speaker 1: it's such a weird thing just to depart from this
- 20:22Speaker 1: for just a second and talk about that, because you guys,
- 20:28Speaker 1: I can't. I have such mixed feelings about us automating jobs.
- 20:36Speaker 1: A part of me feels like making people obsolete is
- 20:41Speaker 1: really shitty, and taking employment away from people just to
- 20:47Speaker 1: like increase your bottom line is like unethical and shortsighted
- 20:52Speaker 1: and just a bad idea. And then there's another part
- 20:58Speaker 1: of me that like so frustrated because the alleged reason
- 21:04Speaker 1: for us coming up with a lot of the inventions
- 21:07Speaker 1: that we have over the past one hundred years, especially
- 21:11Speaker 1: with like the Industrial Revolution, A lot of the reasons
- 21:15Speaker 1: we have stated for creating machines and appliances and things
- 21:24Speaker 1: is so that we can make life easier and eliminate
- 21:29Speaker 1: the hazards sometimes of working certain jobs or just you know,
- 21:36Speaker 1: making certain things easier and more consistent with the manufacturer.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And also to free up time so that we have
- 21:48Speaker 1: more to spend on other things, especially when we're talking
- 21:51Speaker 1: about like home appliances like dishwashers and food processors and
- 21:57Speaker 1: washer dryers that sort of thing. And instead of it
- 22:01Speaker 1: actually making life easier because we don't have the imagination
- 22:06Speaker 1: to come up with a different way of living from
- 22:09Speaker 1: good old capitalism, all we've done is take that time
- 22:14Speaker 1: and used it to like reinforce that we should be
- 22:18Speaker 1: being more productive in other areas of our lives. So
- 22:22Speaker 1: it hasn't actually helped us to rest or helped us
- 22:27Speaker 1: to take pressure off our shoulders. It has just made
- 22:31Speaker 1: it so that doing like getting more done is even
- 22:39Speaker 1: easier and less like excusable if you don't, because well
- 22:45Speaker 1: you don't even have to do dishes anymore, you know.
- 22:48Speaker 1: And that is like the fundamental issue with so much
- 22:53Speaker 1: of the progressive improvements in like farm for example, with
- 23:01Speaker 1: like the growing of food, we have done enough so
- 23:05Speaker 1: that we can grow more than enough food for everybody
- 23:07Speaker 1: to be fed. But because of capitalism, we can't just
- 23:11Speaker 1: give food away, got to forbid. Instead, we'll throw it
- 23:16Speaker 1: away and nobody gets it because that's smarter for reasons
- 23:22Speaker 1: of very foolish logic. And it's just so frustrating because
- 23:29Speaker 1: we have done so many things at like humanity has
- 23:34Speaker 1: that could have made life so much better and so
- 23:38Speaker 1: much richer in so many ways. Automating a bunch of
- 23:43Speaker 1: things would free up so many people. If we just
- 23:46Speaker 1: accepted this job no longer needs to be done. If
- 23:50Speaker 1: we had a universal basic income, these people's jobs would
- 23:53Speaker 1: be replaced, but they would also be able to live
- 23:56Speaker 1: and maybe then in that time they could produce, art,
- 24:00Speaker 1: could caregive, they could do any number of things. But
- 24:04Speaker 1: we don't. We just say, well, now you still need
- 24:07Speaker 1: to do a job, you still have to work. We
- 24:09Speaker 1: got rid of those jobs, so that sucks for you.
- 24:12Speaker 1: You have to figure out another job. And since you're
- 24:15Speaker 1: super desperate now because so few jobs exist because we've
- 24:18Speaker 1: automated them all, we get to exploit you and pay
- 24:21Speaker 1: you even less than before, because we know you're extremely desperate,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and it's just it's just so frustrating to know how
- 24:30Speaker 1: much advancement we've actually made, but because of our foolish
- 24:38Speaker 1: lack of imagination, we aren't making use of them in
- 24:42Speaker 1: a way that's like at all really fundamentally helpful. And
- 24:46Speaker 1: it makes me really sad, you know, and like also,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and this is a whole other thing, and I know that,
- 24:53Speaker 1: like millennials are the ones that we get talked about
- 24:56Speaker 1: like a lot, because for some reason, everybody just forgot
- 25:00Speaker 1: that millennials grew to adults like in the past five
- 25:04Speaker 1: or tiny years, and we were the ones talked about
- 25:07Speaker 1: for the longest time, as if we were still like
- 25:09Speaker 1: teens or in our twenties, when in fact that's like
- 25:12Speaker 1: gen z at this point. But people make fun of
- 25:17Speaker 1: the fact that a lot of millennials do not want
- 25:19Speaker 1: to talk to human beings. We always want to do
- 25:22Speaker 1: things through automation apps, you know, place of pizza order
- 25:28Speaker 1: on our computer instead of calling. But honestly, that is
- 25:33Speaker 1: because there's like less room for human error a lot
- 25:36Speaker 1: of the time, in my opinion, Like I don't like
- 25:39Speaker 1: to go to I don't like to call a place
- 25:42Speaker 1: to order a pizza because the place that I call,
- 25:46Speaker 1: because they don't have the option to place an order online,
- 25:49Speaker 1: it's a phone that's in the front of house, right
- 25:52Speaker 1: around all the dining and you can tell the person
- 25:56Speaker 1: on the phone can barely hear you, so you have
- 25:58Speaker 1: to like yell your order and they have to repeat
- 26:01Speaker 1: it back to you, and they're clearly yelling, And there's
- 26:04Speaker 1: just a sense the whole time of like this could
- 26:06Speaker 1: very easily get wrong, like they could fuck this up
- 26:09Speaker 1: somewhere along the line. Whereas if you get to enter
- 26:13Speaker 1: your information into a computer and it gets printed out,
- 26:15Speaker 1: it feels like there's so much less likely. The likelihood
- 26:20Speaker 1: is much lower of the order being wrong or they're
- 26:22Speaker 1: being a miscommunication, unless you've entered it wrong, in which
- 26:25Speaker 1: case that's your own fault. And I feel this way
- 26:27Speaker 1: about like check out too. I know a lot of
- 26:29Speaker 1: people talk shit about self checkout, but I don't like
- 26:33Speaker 1: dealing with cashiers so many, especially here in Texas. And
- 26:38Speaker 1: this may just be that I am a Connecticut girly
- 26:41Speaker 1: and being from the Northeast, I have a different attitude
- 26:43Speaker 1: about things. But down here in Texas people love to
- 26:46Speaker 1: chit chat, and I will be honest, I don't really
- 26:50Speaker 1: give a shit. I don't want a chitchat with people.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It's a combo of me being a little bit antisocial sometimes,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and also the people down here are often bigots and shitty,
- 27:00Speaker 1: and I don't want to engage in a conversation with
- 27:02Speaker 1: somebody when I know that convo can take an abrupt
- 27:04Speaker 1: left at any moment, and a person can say something
- 27:07Speaker 1: incredibly terrible, and now I have to figure out how
- 27:10Speaker 1: to navigate the rest of this. It's just there's a
- 27:13Speaker 1: lot of anxiety for me in dealing with strangers around here,
- 27:17Speaker 1: especially so for me, I love that things are mostly
- 27:23Speaker 1: automated because I don't want the human element involved. It
- 27:29Speaker 1: makes things faster and less anxiety inducing for me if
- 27:33Speaker 1: I can just go and check things out myself. So
- 27:36Speaker 1: I am very much like for automation in a lot
- 27:42Speaker 1: of ways that I know people really vehemently disagree with,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and their reasons are valid. I really do understand where
- 27:54Speaker 1: they're coming from. It's just that, you know, for me,
- 27:58Speaker 1: it seems like my personality type. It's just preferable. I
- 28:03Speaker 1: know that I just went on a huge tangent and
- 28:06Speaker 1: that this is probably not really of interest to anybody,
- 28:08Speaker 1: and my apologies, but also it just brought to mind
- 28:12Speaker 1: like a lot of questions. And the thing about like
- 28:14Speaker 1: dealing with smile as well, is that perhaps if you
- 28:19Speaker 1: have like people who aren't really people handling this material,
- 28:25Speaker 1: they're less at risk. I don't know how much these
- 28:28Speaker 1: people give a shit about risk, except that it might
- 28:31Speaker 1: render their employees unable to work. But maybe if you're
- 28:36Speaker 1: not like of flesh and blood person, smile can't damage
- 28:43Speaker 1: you in the way that it would, you know what
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I don't know though, because the fact
- 28:51Speaker 1: that and thank you, Floriene is telling me to not
- 28:54Speaker 1: Tontata is the name of the fairy tribe. It may
- 28:59Speaker 1: be that the tantata being abducted and turned into workers
- 29:07Speaker 1: at this factory is that they are the only type
- 29:13Speaker 1: of worker that is employed there. It may not even
- 29:17Speaker 1: be that the toys are turned into workers at the factory,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and that that's like a whole separate thing. It also, like,
- 29:25Speaker 1: you know, considering how many toys we've got just walking
- 29:31Speaker 1: around the city, if they are turning them into workers,
- 29:36Speaker 1: like that's apparently only some of them, you know, not
- 29:40Speaker 1: a lot of them, because there are plenty who are
- 29:42Speaker 1: still out here wandering and living their lives like they're
- 29:46Speaker 1: regular beings. And I had thought that maybe this toy
- 29:54Speaker 1: soldier had been a human and that so Rebecca, I
- 29:59Speaker 1: think is the name of the girl that's going to
- 30:00Speaker 1: be fighting in the coliseum, that maybe like her relationship
- 30:05Speaker 1: to him was going to be like that she'd gotten
- 30:12Speaker 1: she managed to either retain her memory of somebody that
- 30:15Speaker 1: she had been with, or that she like fell in
- 30:20Speaker 1: love with him again even though now he was a
- 30:23Speaker 1: toy it didn't matter to her. And this made me
- 30:27Speaker 1: sort of like what I remembered then that she had
- 30:32Speaker 1: those memories that we saw in the flashback dancing around
- 30:37Speaker 1: with the toy soldier. So I feel like that can't
- 30:41Speaker 1: be right unless this is somebody who had been her
- 30:45Speaker 1: friend when she was younger and got transformed into a
- 30:48Speaker 1: toy when they were quite young. But it doesn't seem
- 30:52Speaker 1: like those memories would exist if this happened after the
- 30:55Speaker 1: two of them had been involved with each other. So anyway,
- 30:59Speaker 1: I just throwing out all of these different theories that
- 31:02Speaker 1: I've had that aren't really even like I don't necessarily
- 31:07Speaker 1: even believe them fully It's just that I want to
- 31:11Speaker 1: share with you guys the way that my mind works
- 31:13Speaker 1: and what occurs to me, and then why I discounted it,
- 31:17Speaker 1: you know. So let's talk about Shinjhao now, because this
- 31:23Speaker 1: whole thing, as you guys know, the tournament thing is
- 31:28Speaker 1: like the least interesting part of the story for me.
- 31:31Speaker 1: But I will say that this particular episode is pretty funny.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I say episode, and it's more than one episode really,
- 31:41Speaker 1: but like, what's going on? So first, we've got this
- 31:48Speaker 1: really bizarre power from the guy who hates being called
- 31:51Speaker 1: a shrimp, where he has eaten the jacket jacket fruit,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and this means that he can deflate his body into
- 32:06Speaker 1: a jacket, un get unzipped, and then somebody can put
- 32:13Speaker 1: him on and wear him like a jacket, and then
- 32:23Speaker 1: he takes over their body and can fight using their
- 32:29Speaker 1: body and like musculature and whatnot. You guys, this is
- 32:39Speaker 1: absolutely bonkers. This is the craziest of all the powers
- 32:44Speaker 1: so far, in my opinion, we have had some real
- 32:47Speaker 1: weird ones, and I'm sure we'll have a lot more
- 32:50Speaker 1: real weird ones, but I really feel this is taking
- 32:57Speaker 1: the cake. This is you maybe remind me of some
- 33:03Speaker 1: older ones that I have forgotten since then, but being
- 33:09Speaker 1: able to make yourself into a jacket so that anybody
- 33:13Speaker 1: who puts you on is like controlled, Like it's it's
- 33:19Speaker 1: such a bizarre thing, Like not just because of the
- 33:24Speaker 1: nature of it in general as a concept, but all
- 33:28Speaker 1: I keep thinking about is how how completely vulnerable this
- 33:34Speaker 1: dude is when he decides that he is going to
- 33:38Speaker 1: turn into a jacket, that he's just laying there with
- 33:42Speaker 1: no apparent ability to like get away easily. And I
- 33:46Speaker 1: don't know exactly how this works, Like it may be
- 33:50Speaker 1: that he can turn back into himself pretty quickly and
- 33:55Speaker 1: it's not that difficult, but I just kept imagining being like, yeah,
- 33:59Speaker 1: let me flate myself, and then something happens to the
- 34:02Speaker 1: person who was supposed to be putting you on, and
- 34:05Speaker 1: now you're just like a sitting duck laying there and
- 34:08Speaker 1: any random can like grab you up and stuff you
- 34:11Speaker 1: into a backpack and run away. Which I'll be honest,
- 34:15Speaker 1: if we don't get that happening at some point, I
- 34:18Speaker 1: will be disappointed. I would love to get to see
- 34:23Speaker 1: this guy just rolled up and put under somebody's arm,
- 34:28Speaker 1: like a tent that just got taken down. You know.
- 34:35Speaker 1: So anyway, I I this this dude and his like
- 34:43Speaker 1: I don't want you guys to call me a shrimp,
- 34:48Speaker 1: and like screaming at this dude using his brother's his muscles,
- 34:54Speaker 1: because there's a mention more than once that his brother
- 34:57Speaker 1: is a softy who doesn't like to fight, and that
- 35:02Speaker 1: it's a shame that so much muscle and brawn is
- 35:07Speaker 1: wasted on a person who won't make use of them.
- 35:11Speaker 1: They and so that's why his brother puts him on
- 35:15Speaker 1: as a jacket. The thing that I keep wondering though,
- 35:20Speaker 1: is like when his brother takes him off, is the
- 35:26Speaker 1: damage done to him when he's in the fight, like
- 35:29Speaker 1: people punching him and bruising him. Does that get absorbed
- 35:34Speaker 1: by the jacket or does that remain on his body?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Because I feel like I would not want to put
- 35:44Speaker 1: on the jacket if I don't like to fight. I'm
- 35:47Speaker 1: thinking the reason I don't want to fight is also
- 35:49Speaker 1: is partially at least because I don't want to get hurt.
- 35:52Speaker 1: But the idea that then like I let myself be
- 35:55Speaker 1: occupied by another consciousness and they can let me get
- 36:00Speaker 1: hurt and then just bounce that doesn't feel better. You know,
- 36:06Speaker 1: maybe it's supposed to just be that he's like afraid
- 36:09Speaker 1: in general, or that he's like such a pacifist. Perhaps
- 36:15Speaker 1: I don't know, but I this is just something that
- 36:18Speaker 1: I kept wondering exactly how this all works. So that
- 36:27Speaker 1: guy is like yelling at another dude about calling him
- 36:31Speaker 1: a shrimp, and it begins this whole fight, which eventually
- 36:35Speaker 1: he wins, and we get the guy with the weird
- 36:37Speaker 1: shoulders who comes out and is like, if you must
- 36:41Speaker 1: be like a really unusually good fighter, and dude is like,
- 36:45Speaker 1: why are you giving me a compliment when I am
- 36:47Speaker 1: your rival? And shoulders dude is like, because I want
- 36:52Speaker 1: to be the best, and how will anybody know I'm
- 36:55Speaker 1: the best unless I get to fight and beat the best.
- 36:59Speaker 1: So they begin going in on each other, and like,
- 37:02Speaker 1: as this is happening, I'm sitting back watching this kind
- 37:06Speaker 1: of like yawn, because I don't know either of these
- 37:09Speaker 1: guys and I don't care. The jacket power, I think
- 37:12Speaker 1: is fun. It got my attention for a second, but
- 37:15Speaker 1: not much is done with it here besides this one fight.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So that also kind of had me going like, yeah, whatever,
- 37:22Speaker 1: And I actually thought to myself, like this episode has
- 37:26Speaker 1: chin Joo's name on it. When is he showing up?
- 37:29Speaker 1: I need him to lend this fight a little bit
- 37:32Speaker 1: more dignity because these guys are kind of sad empathetic.
- 37:36Speaker 1: And then Chinjau rolls in and I was like really pumped,
- 37:42Speaker 1: and then, like one of the story short guys, he
- 37:44Speaker 1: just winds up balling his eyes out at the end
- 37:49Speaker 1: of the fight. It's not the end of the fight.
- 37:51Speaker 1: The fight goes on considerably longer after that. But I
- 37:55Speaker 1: could not help but laugh because I was very much like, yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 1: where's Jinjaw. We want to, like, you know, we want
- 38:01Speaker 1: to feel like this flight is a little bit tougher
- 38:03Speaker 1: and cooler. And then he does that for like a
- 38:06Speaker 1: minute and then immediately undoes it all, and I was
- 38:10Speaker 1: just like, come on, dude. So anyway, the reason that
- 38:21Speaker 1: I just want to say also this is for me.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I really like Chin Jao and I'm really not sure why.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I just want to like confront this and tell you
- 38:34Speaker 1: all how I feel about it, because it's something that
- 38:38Speaker 1: I can't quite understand myself. I don't know if it's
- 38:44Speaker 1: the fact that he has beef with Lufy's grandfather. I
- 38:47Speaker 1: feel like that's part of it. Because I just like
- 38:50Speaker 1: the fact that there is a reason for him to
- 38:53Speaker 1: hate Lufy that doesn't really have anything to do with
- 38:56Speaker 1: Lufy himself. So there's a part of me that is
- 39:00Speaker 1: more interested in that, And I think it's just the
- 39:03Speaker 1: aspect of like there being a mystery to it, you know,
- 39:09Speaker 1: rather than somebody who shows up and hates Loofy for
- 39:13Speaker 1: maybe something that I've actually seen occur and don't really
- 39:16Speaker 1: care about, or for like Cavendish, the fact that he
- 39:21Speaker 1: hates Loofy for reasons that are so silly and stupid
- 39:24Speaker 1: that it's difficult for me to like take him seriously
- 39:27Speaker 1: as a threat at all. But I just kind of
- 39:32Speaker 1: there's there's something about chin Ja's motivation that I find
- 39:35Speaker 1: much more engaging. Also, I have got to say that
- 39:39Speaker 1: Changjau's overall design is wonderful. I just really like the
- 39:47Speaker 1: way that he is animated with like his beard and
- 39:51Speaker 1: mustache all sort of flying upwards, so it always looks
- 39:54Speaker 1: like he is standing over a like event of hot air,
- 39:58Speaker 1: which really goes well with his overall like rage motivation
- 40:06Speaker 1: because it looks like the fires of his anger are
- 40:12Speaker 1: levitating his hair and beard and everything. So his design,
- 40:19Speaker 1: his motivation, and the voice actor does a good job
- 40:22Speaker 1: with him, so overall I have been enjoying him whenever
- 40:28Speaker 1: he shows up. Also, I think part of it is
- 40:31Speaker 1: that he manages to absolutely and utterly spank anybody that
- 40:37Speaker 1: he goes up against, which is very satisfying because it's
- 40:40Speaker 1: just everybody here is so full of themselves and I
- 40:45Speaker 1: like seeing them get put in their place by an
- 40:47Speaker 1: old man. So everything about this dude I have been
- 40:52Speaker 1: very on board for. And I will say that even
- 40:54Speaker 1: though he starts crying and being so sad, that didn't
- 40:58Speaker 1: really undo it. What he's said about is that his
- 41:03Speaker 1: like all of his treasure and stuff got taken away
- 41:07Speaker 1: by Lufy's grandfather. But also apparently he used to have
- 41:14Speaker 1: a head that like he calls He says that he
- 41:17Speaker 1: used to be called the drill. I think was the
- 41:21Speaker 1: name that he said he used to have. And we
- 41:24Speaker 1: don't actually ever get the story of that in these
- 41:27Speaker 1: three episodes. I'm almost positive, but clearly we're going to
- 41:32Speaker 1: get it at some point, like what it is that
- 41:34Speaker 1: Lufy's grandfather did to this guy's head, And I am deeply,
- 41:40Speaker 1: deeply curious about it. I really want to know. But yeah,
- 41:44Speaker 1: so this, this whole thing is just really I really
- 41:51Speaker 1: liked the fight between him and Luviy. It's the first
- 41:54Speaker 1: fight that I have been engaged by, say, and the
- 42:04Speaker 1: fact that Lufy, I'm this is something that I didn't
- 42:07Speaker 1: really understand. So I'm gonna ask you guys, And I
- 42:11Speaker 1: think only Florian is here right now, so he may
- 42:13Speaker 1: not know if you are able to tell me, Florian,
- 42:16Speaker 1: but if you're listening later, go on into the discord
- 42:20Speaker 1: and let me know. I I am not really sure
- 42:26Speaker 1: why Lufy is able to use his gum gum power now,
- 42:31Speaker 1: and nobody seems to be calling out the fact that
- 42:34Speaker 1: he is clearly not named Lucy. This is, you know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: like he keeps on almost dropping his mustache and beard off,
- 42:49Speaker 1: and eventually he does, and it seems like he tries
- 42:53Speaker 1: to restick it and it doesn't fully work, and the
- 42:54Speaker 1: guy that he is fighting against at that point is
- 42:57Speaker 1: laughing about it because he already knows that this is
- 43:00Speaker 1: definitely loofy and is basically just like, aha, now you
- 43:03Speaker 1: can't hide it any longer. But when Hinjao is coming
- 43:09Speaker 1: at him, I like Lufy already did not argue with
- 43:18Speaker 1: Chinjao about who he is until Cavendish kind of was like,
- 43:23Speaker 1: why do you why did you say that was your
- 43:25Speaker 1: grandpa if that's not who you are, And even when
- 43:28Speaker 1: he corrects himself and stops and it's like, oh, yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 1: you're right, that's not that's not my grandpa. I don't
- 43:32Speaker 1: even know who you're talking about. He very quickly, like Loufy,
- 43:36Speaker 1: loses sight of the fact that he's supposed to be
- 43:39Speaker 1: keeping his guard up, and so he'll blurt out, well,
- 43:43Speaker 1: what my grandpa did has nothing to do with me,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and he keeps doing that, back and forth and back
- 43:48Speaker 1: and forth. But here it's I don't really understand how
- 43:59Speaker 1: anybody is like monitoring the fight if they're like, are
- 44:02Speaker 1: they not hearing what's being said? Either? Because this guy
- 44:06Speaker 1: keeps talking about Lufy's grandpa and calling him by his name.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure maybe he doesn't. Maybe he just keeps
- 44:14Speaker 1: saying your grandfather. But that combined with Lufy using his powers,
- 44:19Speaker 1: I just kept expecting somebody to be like, wait, oh
- 44:24Speaker 1: my god, it is Lufy. That's not Lucy at all,
- 44:27Speaker 1: you know, and it just does not happen. And I
- 44:32Speaker 1: thought that him using his powers like he started to
- 44:35Speaker 1: do it and kind of stopped himself before, and now
- 44:40Speaker 1: it seems like he has let go of holding back
- 44:44Speaker 1: on that in any way. So I don't really understand
- 44:48Speaker 1: how people aren't figuring out who he is now. I
- 44:51Speaker 1: thought that sort of what ended up happening in this
- 44:56Speaker 1: scene was going to be like the culmination of of
- 45:01Speaker 1: all of these clues coming together to everybody realizing for
- 45:06Speaker 1: sure who he was. And honestly, I kind of thought
- 45:14Speaker 1: that this was going to be the trap that Do
- 45:19Speaker 1: Flamingo set up was that he knew Lufy was going
- 45:23Speaker 1: to enter this thing because he couldn't resist, and that
- 45:25Speaker 1: he would then be revealed to be a wanted criminal
- 45:30Speaker 1: and that they would, you know, swoop in and scoop
- 45:34Speaker 1: Loofy up and arrest him. But later on, when Do
- 45:40Speaker 1: Flamingo is talking to law about setting Lufy up and
- 45:45Speaker 1: creating this trap, it turns out the only trap that
- 45:50Speaker 1: Do Flamingo intended is for Loufy to get lured into
- 45:58Speaker 1: this fight at all, and Do Flamingo is under the
- 46:04Speaker 1: impression that surely Loofy will lose this fight, so it's
- 46:10Speaker 1: not even a question that he is going to come
- 46:13Speaker 1: out of the tournament because it's filled with all of
- 46:16Speaker 1: the best fighters of the land and he'll be able,
- 46:19Speaker 1: like all one of these guys will guaranteed take Loofy down.
- 46:25Speaker 1: And honestly, that is very weak sauce do Flamingo like that?
- 46:35Speaker 1: For me, that is an even worse plan than a
- 46:43Speaker 1: lot of the other plans that we have seen so
- 46:45Speaker 1: far set up by allegedly less competent bad guys. It's
- 46:51Speaker 1: just like, you know, it's it's like that thing from
- 46:53Speaker 1: Austin Powers when Doctor Evil's son is like, let's go
- 46:58Speaker 1: and shoot him. Let's just go sh we can do
- 47:00Speaker 1: it together, it'll be fun, and Doctor Eva being like, no, no, no, no, no,
- 47:04Speaker 1: that's not how we do it. I'm going to place
- 47:07Speaker 1: them in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate
- 47:10Speaker 1: and exotic death what And that his son is like,
- 47:13Speaker 1: you're not even gonna stay around and make sure that
- 47:15Speaker 1: they die, And he's like, no, I'm just going to
- 47:17Speaker 1: leave and assume it all went to plan. And that's
- 47:21Speaker 1: what this feels like to me, is like Don Flamingo
- 47:24Speaker 1: Lufy hasn't gotten to where he is by being somebody
- 47:28Speaker 1: that is easy to beat, and the fact that you
- 47:32Speaker 1: are so utterly certain that you haven't got anything to
- 47:38Speaker 1: worry about is shocking. Shocking to me, my friend. I mean,
- 47:47Speaker 1: if you have learned nothing, it's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed. This
- 47:53Speaker 1: is not the quality of plan I was expecting from
- 47:57Speaker 1: a guy who is apparently like an international criminal mastermind.
- 48:02Speaker 1: I think it's like, I don't know, I just it
- 48:05Speaker 1: just feels really lazy overall, and I expected a lot
- 48:13Speaker 1: more from him. So Florian says, I have to say,
- 48:20Speaker 1: I don't know how much the general public know about
- 48:22Speaker 1: his powers and Dol Flamingo's people. How much do Flamingo's
- 48:27Speaker 1: people expect him to be there since it's trap? Okay,
- 48:31Speaker 1: so that's the question, because like, do Flamingo's people I
- 48:36Speaker 1: don't know that they are aware that they're trying to
- 48:39Speaker 1: trap Loufy, Like, I wouldn't have any doubt that Do
- 48:44Speaker 1: Flamingo planted his best fighters, But I'm not sure Dol
- 48:47Speaker 1: Flamingo is the type of guy to share with his
- 48:50Speaker 1: followers that he has that he intends this to be
- 48:54Speaker 1: a trap. I really could see him just putting his
- 49:00Speaker 1: guys in and being like, you guys want this devil fruit, right,
- 49:03Speaker 1: and then not really thinking about the fact that later
- 49:06Speaker 1: on he has no intention of handing over this fruit
- 49:09Speaker 1: and that he will take it and back out of
- 49:12Speaker 1: whatever the deal was supposed to be or whatever. So
- 49:16Speaker 1: that's like, I get what you're saying, and maybe that's true,
- 49:20Speaker 1: but I really I wouldn't bet on it, because I
- 49:24Speaker 1: feel like do Flamingo seems pretty insular on his plans
- 49:27Speaker 1: a lot of the time. How much the general public
- 49:31Speaker 1: knows that's another question that I feel like if the
- 49:36Speaker 1: answer is supposed to be that they don't know much
- 49:39Speaker 1: about his power, I'm just going to go on record
- 49:43Speaker 1: as saying that is bullshit. Loofy has been in the
- 49:48Speaker 1: news and on camera way too much for people to
- 49:53Speaker 1: not know what his power is at this point. It
- 49:56Speaker 1: just doesn't feel realistic to me that after all of
- 50:00Speaker 1: the notoriety that he has gained, that people can recognize
- 50:04Speaker 1: his face or hear his name and immediately be like
- 50:09Speaker 1: I know who you are or oh God, Strawhet is
- 50:12Speaker 1: here and get like intimidated, and that they won't also
- 50:17Speaker 1: know what his ability is. I just don't buy it.
- 50:20Speaker 1: If that's what I'm supposed to believe, that is not
- 50:24Speaker 1: gonna work because I just I don't I don't believe it.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Everybody has so much information on him as it is
- 50:32Speaker 1: that his power that has got to be like number
- 50:34Speaker 1: two on the list of things that they would know.
- 50:37Speaker 1: So I really hope that that's not what we're supposed
- 50:40Speaker 1: to be relying on. But if that isn't what we're
- 50:45Speaker 1: supposed to be relying on, then I don't know what
- 50:47Speaker 1: we are supposed to be relying on, because otherwise everybody
- 50:50Speaker 1: should be putting two and two together by now. So
- 50:55Speaker 1: I don't know. It's just like I'm kind of at
- 50:56Speaker 1: this point here where I'm like, either way, this is
- 51:00Speaker 1: not believable at this point that either people don't know
- 51:04Speaker 1: what his power is, or that they do know and
- 51:06Speaker 1: he's doing this right in front of them in the
- 51:08Speaker 1: in the arena and they aren't realizing who he is.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Either way, I find it to be very poorly thought
- 51:16Speaker 1: out as a story be and I have an issue
- 51:18Speaker 1: with it. So anyway, that's like where things stand with them,
- 51:25Speaker 1: And like the episode ends, we have like Dol Flamingo
- 51:31Speaker 1: kind of following Law and chasing him down, Law desperately
- 51:35Speaker 1: trying to contact Nami and she is not picking up
- 51:38Speaker 1: and do Flamingo just basically making fun of the fact
- 51:43Speaker 1: that like his alliance has fallen apart. Eventually, Nami does
- 51:48Speaker 1: talk to him, and he doesn't listen to a thing
- 51:51Speaker 1: that she's trying to tell him about the Sonny, and
- 51:54Speaker 1: I love the fact that like he hangs up and
- 51:56Speaker 1: she just yells that it talking to him was exactly
- 51:59Speaker 1: like talking to Loofy because he didn't listen to anything
- 52:02Speaker 1: that they said. I did think that was actually kind
- 52:05Speaker 1: of hilarious. Excuse me, but anyway, So the whole thing
- 52:13Speaker 1: is like they are supposed to get to Green Bit.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Now that's where they're supposed to head off to Zoro
- 52:18Speaker 1: and Frankie. They wind up in the same area with
- 52:23Speaker 1: the Tantata people and are because the Tantana have like
- 52:28Speaker 1: a list that not Loufy that usup gave them of
- 52:30Speaker 1: all their friends' names, so if they all have land
- 52:34Speaker 1: at the end for whatever reason, So these two basically
- 52:41Speaker 1: are like doing assembly, like they're like here, you know,
- 52:44Speaker 1: I'm raising their hands that we're here to I love
- 52:46Speaker 1: that Zoro is really mad at the fact that there
- 52:49Speaker 1: is a tournament happening and Loufy didn't tell him because,
- 52:53Speaker 1: as he puts it, I would have cleaned up and
- 52:56Speaker 1: he would too, He absolutely would. And it didn't occur
- 53:01Speaker 1: to me that he would react this way, but that
- 53:04Speaker 1: completely makes sense. That is so in character of course
- 53:07Speaker 1: he'd be like, what the fuck seriously, dude. So I
- 53:10Speaker 1: really really enjoyed that. And we have Robin and oos
- 53:17Speaker 1: Up going to the airport that the Tantata people have,
- 53:24Speaker 1: which has like basically their air force, and they ride
- 53:28Speaker 1: these little beetles, and Robin and Oosup are given these foxes,
- 53:36Speaker 1: which the Tumtata treat as like buses. And the foxes
- 53:40Speaker 1: have these huge flufy tails that are like kind of
- 53:47Speaker 1: up behind them in a big fluf almost more like
- 53:51Speaker 1: the tail of a peacock, you know what I mean,
- 53:53Speaker 1: the way that that fans out, so that forms this
- 53:57Speaker 1: back to their seat that oos Up and Robin can
- 54:02Speaker 1: lean against when they climb on the back of this fox.
- 54:06Speaker 1: And y'all, this looked like the coziest best thing. I
- 54:12Speaker 1: loved it. It was so adorable. I really like the
- 54:16Speaker 1: moment that Usup leans back and the tail. I thought
- 54:20Speaker 1: maybe he'd lean back and fall through it, or the
- 54:23Speaker 1: tail would twitch and he'd get knocked off or something,
- 54:25Speaker 1: but he doesn't. And then Robin leans back too, and
- 54:29Speaker 1: she says, oh, this fur is so lovely, and the
- 54:32Speaker 1: fox's head turns around and looks at her and just
- 54:35Speaker 1: goes ah, like they really appreciate the compliment. This was
- 54:39Speaker 1: like the most adorable, heartwarming moment, you guys. Know, like
- 54:42Speaker 1: the way the animals are used in the story. A
- 54:44Speaker 1: lot of the time in this show, it can make
- 54:47Speaker 1: me so sad because they are not They're pushed into
- 54:50Speaker 1: battle in a way that I hate. But when we
- 54:53Speaker 1: get the moments like this where animals get to be
- 54:57Speaker 1: like a fun part of things that are I'm treated
- 55:00Speaker 1: well and very cute, it makes me so happy. And
- 55:04Speaker 1: the only thing I'm worried about is that they're riding
- 55:06Speaker 1: them into battle and I am not excited to see
- 55:08Speaker 1: them get hurt, which I have to assume is eventually
- 55:11Speaker 1: going to happen. And honestly, like same thing for the Beatles,
- 55:17Speaker 1: but the Beatles, it's just different when it's a mammal,
- 55:20Speaker 1: you guys understand. If it's a beetle that gets hurt,
- 55:24Speaker 1: it just has a different vibe to it than an
- 55:27Speaker 1: adorable furry fox. And perhaps that's just me being a
- 55:33Speaker 1: specious bigot. I don't know, but I don't apologize for it.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I stand by it, and I feel like that's a
- 55:39Speaker 1: perfectly reasonable feeling to have. So yeah, the overall situation
- 55:46Speaker 1: with them heading out to battle, We've got almost everybody here,
- 55:51Speaker 1: so all we need now are for the folks who
- 55:53Speaker 1: were on the Sunny to rejoin. And I don't know
- 55:58Speaker 1: what's how they're gonna get the art lady to turn
- 56:01Speaker 1: things back because the Sunny isn't gonna stay this way.
- 56:03Speaker 1: I have to assume unless they like do a whole
- 56:06Speaker 1: new shit. But I just feel like too much was
- 56:08Speaker 1: put into making the Sunny and it being their new
- 56:13Speaker 1: home that I don't think we're abandoning that yet. Yeah,
- 56:18Speaker 1: Florian says, I want to travel like that everywhere I go. Literally,
- 56:22Speaker 1: like I am recording currently wrapped in this very fluffy
- 56:25Speaker 1: scarf because it's just cozy and nice, and those foxtails
- 56:31Speaker 1: just looked like the softest, nicest thing. And the foxes
- 56:36Speaker 1: are blue also and they're just very cute. I just
- 56:38Speaker 1: really liked them. We also have some different fighters from
- 56:43Speaker 1: the Tuntata that we meet, and I don't know if
- 56:45Speaker 1: we learn all of their names, but there is a
- 56:46Speaker 1: lady who's got like a cool outfit, and uh, I
- 56:50Speaker 1: always you know, as I as I watched this show,
- 56:53Speaker 1: some characters really stand out as ones that I'm like,
- 56:55Speaker 1: if I were to cosplay, that is a character I
- 56:57Speaker 1: ha cousplay, and I think she would be particularly fun.
- 57:00Speaker 1: But I don't know if she is a big enough
- 57:05Speaker 1: character in the show that people would recognize who I
- 57:08Speaker 1: was if I did that costume. You know, I feel
- 57:11Speaker 1: like it's very easy if I were to be somebody like,
- 57:15Speaker 1: oh my god, what's the one that had the depression ghosts?
- 57:18Speaker 1: She comes around like several times, so she would be recognizable.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Her outfit is so distinctive, but I don't know that
- 57:24Speaker 1: this little Tantata lady would be so, you know, just
- 57:28Speaker 1: sort of keeping a weird mental list. Florian says, what
- 57:33Speaker 1: do you think of the tails that the Tantatas have.
- 57:36Speaker 1: I haven't known what to think of those. They are
- 57:38Speaker 1: really weird, like they look animal like, but it's almost
- 57:42Speaker 1: like they're shape shifters, but they're not really, you know,
- 57:46Speaker 1: so yeah, I'm not really sure what to think of them,
- 57:49Speaker 1: if that's another result of a devil fruit thing or what.
- 57:52Speaker 1: But all right, well I have to wrap this up.
- 57:55Speaker 1: But these episodes it was like, it was fun, even
- 57:59Speaker 1: though parts of it were frustrating. But I am really
- 58:01Speaker 1: eager to see where we go from here. So all right, everybody,
- 58:05Speaker 1: thank you so much for listening, Thank you Florian for
- 58:08Speaker 1: hanging out and chatting with me as well, and until
- 58:11Speaker 1: next time to the loom, motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled
- 58:44Speaker 1: network podcast.
