- 0:00Speaker 1: Excuse me, do you mind if I'm mounting your bull?
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's one more thing?
- 0:07Speaker 2: You say, bowl or bowl? Are you mounting my bowl?
- 0:10Speaker 1: Bowl?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Bowl? B u l L.
- 0:14Speaker 2: As in a male Uh.
- 0:17Speaker 1: That's it. It's the very beast I was referring to
- 0:22Speaker 1: strong legabull.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Uh.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Here is what are we doing today? Are we doing?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Oh right, I'm sorry, Yeah, we're cleaning out the sound fridge. Sorry,
- 0:34Speaker 1: metal guy. Ironic that I would leave out metal guy,
- 0:37Speaker 1: which we'll get to in a moment or two. Katie,
- 0:40Speaker 1: how much setup does this need? Uh?
- 0:43Speaker 5: This is You're hearing a cop as he's pulling up
- 0:47Speaker 5: on the scene of a guy riding a bull.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Larry doesn't have a license for it.
- 0:57Speaker 5: He is literally on the back of all in a
- 1:01Speaker 5: tractor supply parking lot.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Didn't use his bull because at first hit you a
- 1:06Speaker 1: tug on the ear. It's I was picturing like one
- 1:10Speaker 1: of those phony mechanical bulls. Oh no, this guy is
- 1:14Speaker 1: mounted up on a head of cat.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And the tractor supply parking lot.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yes, if you're going to be on a bowl in
- 1:20Speaker 1: a parking lot, that's where you want to be. Maybe
- 1:22Speaker 1: John dear store. But anyway, all right now, let's hear it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Forty three headquarters.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I'm reading this right?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Is he riding like an actual real bull?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Dude?
- 1:36Speaker 4: What I'm out with the subject with his bull on
- 1:41Speaker 4: the tractor supply parking lot.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I have so many questions.
- 1:51Speaker 6: This is Gus, this is famous pets.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Absolutely, you get on if you want to give you.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh oh, dude, what in the world.
- 2:05Speaker 2: He rode Gus?
- 2:06Speaker 5: So then he gets up on Gus and they took
- 2:08Speaker 5: a picture of him with a thumbs up.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Awesome, Yeah, fantastic. I wonder why they were They had
- 2:14Speaker 2: Gus out of the trailer there at the tractor's supply
- 2:16Speaker 2: porking lot.
- 2:17Speaker 1: There must be a reason he stiff if he doesn't
- 2:21Speaker 1: get you know, a walk down again.
- 2:23Speaker 2: They had a saddle for him. Oh yeah, he's all
- 2:25Speaker 2: saddled up. Maybe guy just wrote it there. I don't know.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, that's great. You know it's funny. Well, let's
- 2:34Speaker 1: let's play it again. Why not, Michael give us clip
- 2:37Speaker 1: number eleven? They give a.
- 2:39Speaker 7: Shooter evidently raised his chickens, and the conversation was about
- 2:43Speaker 7: how many eggs a chicken can lay. One victim ran
- 2:47Speaker 7: out into the roadway trying to get away from the shooter,
- 2:49Speaker 7: the other two victims head. We had several phone calls.
- 2:52Speaker 7: The shooter himself called nine to one one. Arming yourself
- 2:55Speaker 7: with a handgun when you're under the influence is not
- 2:59Speaker 7: a good idea. There's never going to be a good
- 3:00Speaker 7: outcome with.
- 3:01Speaker 3: That, you know.
- 3:02Speaker 1: A very armstrong and getty story there. We all enjoyed it,
- 3:05Speaker 1: but again we were frustrated that at the lack of details.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I mean, they got into a gunfight arguing about how
- 3:13Speaker 1: many chickens or how many eggs a chicken could lay,
- 3:16Speaker 1: but there's absolutely no information about who was claiming what,
- 3:19Speaker 1: what was in dispute.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I feel like, like many marital spats, there are underlying
- 3:28Speaker 2: causes for the animosity that just revealed themselves in this
- 3:34Speaker 2: minor disagreement.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh that's very very wise. Yes, So this guy they'd
- 3:41Speaker 1: had simmering tensions for years, perhaps, well except that he
- 3:45Speaker 1: had just met them that night. Well for minutes. There
- 3:51Speaker 1: were three guys who knew him, and then the fourth
- 3:54Speaker 1: guy who became enraged by the egg laying chicken disagreement
- 4:00Speaker 1: and retrieved his gun and started squeezing off shots. Thank
- 4:02Speaker 1: god nobody was hurt. But so he's not only a
- 4:07Speaker 1: drunk a hole. But he's a bad shot, thank god.
- 4:11Speaker 1: But I just again, very unsatisfying.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I've been around way too many drunken fights in my life.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They it's just it's amazing how they can explode out
- 4:19Speaker 2: of nowhere. I mean, I've been at house parties where
- 4:22Speaker 2: two dudes are just talking and then like five seconds
- 4:25Speaker 2: later they're fighting. I mean, it takes especially when people
- 4:27Speaker 2: are drunk. It takes so little for some people to fight.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's funny. I was kind of like
- 4:35Speaker 1: that as a younger guy. Uh, but at some point
- 4:39Speaker 1: I aged out of it and just never got into fights.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And guys would be like, come at me like that,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and I'd be like, dude, I have no.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Desire to fight you.
- 4:47Speaker 1: This is this is stupid, And for whatever reason it worked.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw them them.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Oh and sorry, go ahead, no, no, no, that's enough.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Oh well, I just I saw them bartending all the time,
- 4:59Speaker 5: and it's amazing how well they pop off so quickly
- 5:01Speaker 5: and usually over nothing. But they're damn near impossible to.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Stop, right, Yes they are. Well, that's because I've had
- 5:08Speaker 2: friends like this. They show up kind of hoping that
- 5:11Speaker 2: that's gonna happen. I'm the opposite. I hope the rest
- 5:14Speaker 2: of my life I'm never in any physical altercation. But
- 5:16Speaker 2: I've had friends who show up at the bar, sure hoping,
- 5:19Speaker 2: I mean, now make their night. They got into a fight.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Wow, interesting, I know, let's see. And then this This
- 5:27Speaker 1: is Miss World Chile at the talent portion of the
- 5:34Speaker 1: hotly contested who will represent Chile in the Miss World pageant.
- 5:40Speaker 2: This is.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Miss Mundo. What's her first name, doesn't matter, Mademoiselle Mundo
- 5:47Speaker 1: or senior etail Elundo.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Craise yourselves.
- 6:15Speaker 1: That is Miss World Chile doing the cookie monster metal
- 6:19Speaker 1: singing thing. And here's the shocking punchline.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That's her orgasm noise. So her talent portion was singing
- 6:32Speaker 2: like this. Hey, I'm glad it was good for me too.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Baby.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you're clearly posed by the devil. So I think
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'll just put on my pants and head on home.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Good luck with that whole demon possession sing It's uh,
- 6:50Speaker 4: I feel for you seriously. All right, that's enough of that.
- 6:55Speaker 1: God.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We talked about this a little bit the other day.
- 6:58Speaker 2: With metal, that's the only genre of music I don't
- 7:00Speaker 2: quite get. But how does that not just wreck your throat?
- 7:04Speaker 2: I can do that for a little while, but then
- 7:05Speaker 2: it's painful.
- 7:06Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I've I've only seen one band that live that really
- 7:11Speaker 1: did that, and that was just once in a while.
- 7:14Speaker 1: The guy would go into that and for one thing,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you get right up on the mic and so you know,
- 7:21Speaker 1: it's not nearly as loud as it sounds. But I
- 7:24Speaker 1: don't know. I ask my son about that. My son Declan,
- 7:28Speaker 1: who has incredibly Catholic tastes and music it likes the metal.
- 7:35Speaker 1: He says, it gets all the angst out of them,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and he's into the He goes to see Cookie Monster
- 7:39Speaker 1: Growley bands all the time.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Cool and get it, Jack, even if she was hot,
- 7:45Speaker 6: you wouldn't like metal.
- 7:47Speaker 1: She is hot, she's miss freaking Chile. Please, she's a
- 7:54Speaker 1: spicy little chili. What's the question here, Like, I'm not
- 7:58Speaker 1: going to start liking that kind of music just out
- 8:02Speaker 1: of desire or something. No, no, Michael, it's not how
- 8:06Speaker 1: it works. Although I did feign enjoyment of music, then
- 8:10Speaker 1: oh sure, it's just but.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I would do that. I wouldn't say this is stupid,
- 8:14Speaker 2: and I think there's something wrong with you. That's not
- 8:15Speaker 2: my maybe.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Right right, Hey, your chick rock is weird me out.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Can we listen to some real music?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not real music, not good?
- 8:24Speaker 7: Oh?
- 8:24Speaker 1: What was I think?
- 8:26Speaker 3: What was? It's funny?
- 8:27Speaker 1: I had this thought click in my head. I can't remember.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Why do you ever pretend to like a guy's music
- 8:33Speaker 2: just because you're dating him? Katie? No, no, no.
- 8:37Speaker 5: And I've actually gotten pretty lucky that I've dated men
- 8:40Speaker 5: that like.
- 8:41Speaker 2: There you go my music. God. I had a girlfriend once,
- 8:45Speaker 2: many years ago, who liked Gladys. Do you still work here?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Who liked? Uh?
- 8:50Speaker 1: You gotta know you gotta reminisce just a little more.
- 8:53Speaker 1: She's old.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I didn't give her time.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It takes her a minute to move to the harp.
- 8:57Speaker 2: She's got to take off her gloves. She gets cold,
- 9:01Speaker 2: So glad Us. I had a girlfriend once many years ago.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You really liked that Icelandic singer Byork, like really liked her.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And have you ever listened to much of her deep cuts?
- 9:14Speaker 2: It is hard to listen to it's just cat noises.
- 9:18Speaker 1: It's art that we were talking about art and commerce
- 9:23Speaker 1: in popular music. She's not doing that because she's pandering
- 9:27Speaker 1: to the masses.
- 9:28Speaker 2: No, no, but she you know, she became pretty famous
- 9:31Speaker 2: and made a lot of money, so there's enough people
- 9:34Speaker 2: who like it, and I can accept that. It's like
- 9:37Speaker 2: I went to a concert one time with a different
- 9:38Speaker 2: girlfriend who liked it was like this Viking music and
- 9:43Speaker 2: they just had people up there and they're dressed in
- 9:45Speaker 2: Viking costumes and they had big drums, and I just
- 9:49Speaker 2: I got a boom boom, boom boom. And the place
- 9:52Speaker 2: it was in San Francisco. Place was packed full of
- 9:53Speaker 2: people who liked those Viking music and I just did
- 9:56Speaker 2: not get it. I thought, what is it? I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 2: people were on their feet withinenthusiasm.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Drew turns that on from time to time, and
- 10:03Speaker 5: the side I give him a sharp why to play
- 10:08Speaker 5: this on your own time?
- 10:11Speaker 1: We talked during the show about how young women like
- 10:17Speaker 1: eighteen to twenty nine are voting almost entirely democrat. Now
- 10:21Speaker 1: there's an enormous gap, and I can't remember the contest exactly,
- 10:27Speaker 1: but I was gonna blame it on what I used
- 10:29Speaker 1: to call affirmation rock. Listening to these songs that both
- 10:34Speaker 1: of my daughters liked, it clicked in my head that
- 10:38Speaker 1: and this was you know, granted, this is ten to
- 10:43Speaker 1: twenty years ago, but like all of their favorite songs
- 10:46Speaker 1: were like vaguely look at me, I'm strong, I can
- 10:51Speaker 1: do it, I can make it on my own. They
- 10:53Speaker 1: were all like the same lyrical themes affirmation rock, like
- 10:59Speaker 1: hear me roar that's the Katy Perry track. That's a
- 11:02Speaker 1: great exactly astronaut. Yeah, astronaut, Katy Perry. And I think
- 11:08Speaker 1: does that have something to do with the moment we're in?
- 11:11Speaker 2: I don't know, I'm going places and nobody can stop me. Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 2: that's like all of it. Are we ready for? I think?
- 11:21Speaker 2: Was that clean? Are we done clean out to Soundbridge
- 11:24Speaker 2: or not?
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Okay, just to clean out sound Fridge just fits in
- 11:27Speaker 2: perfectly with different people have different views of art, because
- 11:32Speaker 2: some people then it's like classic art. They don't like
- 11:34Speaker 2: this is from family guy. The setting doesn't matter. It's
- 11:38Speaker 2: all of the family in Peter Griffin's family together getting
- 11:42Speaker 2: into a discussion about a particular motion picture.
- 11:45Speaker 8: There's one more secret I feel I have to share
- 11:47Speaker 8: with you. I did not care for the Godfather? What
- 11:51Speaker 8: did not care for the Godfather? How can you even
- 11:54Speaker 8: say that I didn't like didn't like it?
- 11:55Speaker 5: Hada.
- 11:56Speaker 2: It's such a perfect proof And this is what everyone
- 11:58Speaker 2: always says when al Pacino, I mean, you never see
- 12:02Speaker 2: Robert Duvall, fine, fine, act did not like the movie?
- 12:06Speaker 1: What didn't you like?
- 12:07Speaker 3: It?
- 12:07Speaker 2: Inshists chepan itself flowers? What it in shists? Chepany?
- 12:11Speaker 6: What does that even mean?
- 12:11Speaker 8: It takes forever getting in and he spent he spent
- 12:14Speaker 8: like six and a half hours, and then you know,
- 12:15Speaker 8: I can't even get I can't even finish a movie.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I've never even seen it. I've never seen the How
- 12:19Speaker 2: can you say you don't like it if you haven't
- 12:21Speaker 2: even given it?
- 12:21Speaker 8: The chums, it's not really I get to the scene
- 12:24Speaker 8: where all the guys are sitting around on the easy chest.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah, every an. I have no idea what they're talking about.
- 12:31Speaker 2: It's like they're speaking a different light. That's where I
- 12:33Speaker 2: lose in for stile Italian. The language speaking is a
- 12:36Speaker 2: language of subtlety, something you don't understand. I love the
- 12:39Speaker 2: money Pit. That is my answer to that statement. Whatever.
- 12:42Speaker 8: I like that movie too.
- 12:44Speaker 2: So the reason I wanted to play that is it's
- 12:46Speaker 2: been in my head ever since I saw that, like
- 12:48Speaker 2: a month ago. It insists upon itself, and I feel
- 12:54Speaker 2: like I've read that in a critics column before about
- 12:58Speaker 2: something what a bullsh line that is. It insists upon itself.
- 13:03Speaker 2: That's great.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, the pretension in art reviews, music reviews,
- 13:08Speaker 1: movie reviews, but reviews just spectacular. That is hilarious. Seth
- 13:11Speaker 1: MacFarland god as Seth, Seth Dylan of the Babylon b
- 13:19Speaker 1: Is there a Seth in No, that's Trey Parker and
- 13:21Speaker 1: Matt Stone. There's no Seth in South Park. But I
- 13:24Speaker 1: wish I'd been named Seth because it obviously helps make you,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I like, comedically, you know, beyond capable.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I like that line so much of William. If I'm
- 13:33Speaker 2: ever in the same room with Seth MacFarlane, somehow, I'm
- 13:35Speaker 2: gonna say, did you write the line? It insists upon itself?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Because that is my favorite thing of all the family
- 13:42Speaker 2: guy stuff. It what it insists upon itself.
- 13:48Speaker 1: If you're in a room with him, No, see, he
- 13:51Speaker 1: gotta you, gotta show you're his equal. But just wait
- 13:54Speaker 1: till some show comes up and you say, you know, Seth,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't really dig that show. Really why it insists
- 14:00Speaker 1: upon itself?
- 14:02Speaker 2: The level of confidence like it makes sense? Oh, I
- 14:06Speaker 2: love that.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Oh I said it a million times. When I am king.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Critics will be the first up against the wall.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Well, anybody, if you google family Guy put family Guy
- 14:22Speaker 6: vomit scene.
- 14:24Speaker 3: No.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a classic.
- 14:26Speaker 6: I know it's it's very funny though. Well I guess
- 14:32Speaker 6: that's it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: How can you not like it? It's a classic, everybody.
- 14:35Speaker 2: It insists upon itself.
