- Captain Shamus: Welcome to the pork, roll, egg, and cheese podcast Halloween special. My name is Captain Seamus. Skeletor: And I'm Skeletor Hubba! Captain Shamus: And as always, you could be anywhere in the world, but you're here with us and for that we thank you. Well, like I said, Herbie, it's our Halloween special. It's that time of year. You have any favorite memories or childhood memories of Halloween past? Skeletor: Why yes, eating a lot of candy and defeating He-Man. Captain Shamus: I just remember growing up in Philadelphia, we only did I mean, 'cause I was pretty young, we only did our block 'cause it was like a war zone where I lived. When we moved over Riverside though, it was like every kid in the neighborhood met on the corner and we went Christ. If it was after school, we ate we came home, we did our homework, we ate dinner, everybody met outside like five o'clock and we were gone until like eight, nine o'clock at night. Just walking in the streets, just candy, candy, candy, man. Like everything. and I grew up in a pr in you know, Riverside wasn't that but there were certain areas of Riverside you had to hit, like the avenues where the rich people lived, they used to give you the big bars. Skeletor: Yeah, the big Captain Shamus: So yeah, I so many fond memories of Halloween when I was a kid. Skeletor: me too. when I used to live in the Bronx, we would actually go to other nice neighborhoods and but there was a time we would actually go out to Port Jefferson 'cause my my parents had friends that lived out in Port Jefferson. So I'd actually go strick or treat in there instead of the Bronx. So this was like when back in the day, like you know, early seventies when they had like those those costumes that had like that big inflatable head. You know what I mean? Yeah. I remember like that was like one of my first ones, and it was just like a nice, you know, fun memory because like there was a lot of kids in that neighborhood in Port Jefferson. And then it transgressed when I moved to Hamilton. It got big. And then when I moved out here in South Jersey, that's where I met my buddy Steve and TJ and all them. So I was able and it's a nice quiet town. And it was just like a huge town, so you can just go around and get candy. And it got to the point where you can actually you would you would actually go it to the old neighborhood and then do Halloween stuff there. So you're getting double the amount of candy and stuff. back in the day when I used to go trick or treat my buddy Steve, I was like a ninja for like three or four years in a row. And it was just, you know, just like a great memory. It Captain Shamus: Different ninja costumes or just the same? Skeletor: just had it had like more weapons. So it was like swords and grappling hooks and scythes and you know, 'cause I used to go to the Columbus Farmers Market to get like, you know, the go the the martial arts store and get like weapons all the time. Captain Shamus: Nice. Skeletor: And then I would use those weapons to defeat He Man. Captain Shamus: Well let me ask you this. besides the trick or treating part of it, have you ever did you go to any Halloween parties when you were a kid or? Skeletor: there was some. There was churches would have some little small Halloween parties or just family members would actually have Halloween parties. And probably one of my favorite costumes that another couple did was they did the Tin Man and what's what I say it's from a Wizard of Oz. And he did the Tin Man thing, but he he had the hat and he had this little tube so he'd actually have a little bit of smoke in there so when he blew it it it just okay. and he was in character like the whole night. So that's that's another reason why you go to Halloween parties, I'm more of a fan of people that stay in character instead of wearing their outfit for like Yeah and Captain Shamus: Fifteen minutes. Skeletor: then they take the mask off and everything. So that guy basically stayed in character the whole night and I was a little kid thinking he was the Tin Man. Captain Shamus: We had I do remember one and I do have pictures of it somewhere. Maybe next Halloween I'll bring and we'll put on this thing. we threw the quasi central Halloween party for kids kind of deal. Like we did bobbing for apples. there was popcorn balls there, pin to tail and a donkey. we did like a costume 'cause my dad owned East Coast Autobody Shop. Yeah. And he had a two car garage on our street, which was Crazy because everything was row homes and then right in the middle of the block it was our house and then two garage. So he would clean out the garages. The adults were there, obviously having Halloween cocktails But all the kids, all the moms and stuff got together and did all this stuff for us where, it was what was the other one where you had to pass the apple between your necks and all that stuff like that? Skeletor: I sucked at that. Captain Shamus: me too. So we got to do it like a lot of cool stuff like that. That was one ripping ass Halloween party I remember in Philly. When we moved to Jersey, my buddy Bill Phillips, a guy named Doc, his parents drew a Halloween party for adults and kids There was a lot of cool stuff like that. So yeah, those are and then of course when you're adult, when you're a young adult, like you said, you go to these Halloween parties and stuff. I always w like you said, I always wore stuff that I didn't have to worry about taking off. I would wear khaki pants, a dress shirt, and then put a Superman shirt underneath it and wear, my geek glasses. in the army we call RPGs, rape prevention goggles. When you wear no chick wants to But they look like Clark Clint glasses. So I'd wear those and just leave the shirt open so people are like, Who are you? I'm like, I'm Clark Kent, you know. So I didn't have to worry about taking anything off. But yeah, man. I love a good Halloween party. Skeletor: Yeah, they're the best man, 'cause especially now, I I started doing a thing like a couple of years ago that being that I grew up in the well, basically grew up in the neighborhood I am now. We used to have like, you know, everyone come together. So now, like being I still live in town, I would actually have a thing out front. So I'd have like, you know, candy, almost like a tailgate set up. So I just have like a table with like juices and water and candy and like of course like I had a bar set up for like for the adult beverages and stuff. So basically my That I grew up with would actually come back into town with their kids and trick-or-treat in the old neighborhood, and just it would just turn into a huge friggin' party. Granted, I after a while I just pretty much wanted everyone else to go home and get the hell out of there. Because people started like people were like after a while they're hanging they're like, Hey, can I use your bathroom? dude, you live in town. Walk down the street and go to your place in your own room. Yeah. Yeah, Captain Shamus: Tom, take your ass out of the lakeside. Skeletor: there were some people that actually because I would I would have a bar set up and it had four stools, and I basically just set it up for when you guys come and everything like that, these other people in town, they would just belly up to the bar and just hang out the whole goddamn night. And I'm like, What the hell are they doing? Just just you got a home. Yeah. And it used to be like a couple of chicks that weren't very attractive. They'd take up the whole goddamn table and they'd shoe away all the hot chicks. I was always pissed up. I'm like, What the hell, man? And then it's time for you, you want to pack up and everything and everyone still wants to hang out. I'm like, it's it's time for you guys to go home. Go home. Captain Shamus: For some reason, I guess because my development where we're at now, and this better than anybody, it's about a good eighth to a quarter of a mile off the the main road. So and on that road, there's only like two houses and it leads into a circle. So none of the kids really want to walk back here for like three or four houses. So I very rarely get anybody for Halloween here, which kind of sucks. when I lived in Delanco, that my street was a hot spot. So I would buy a hundred and twenty. I always gave out the big shit because when I was a kid I used to love when people gave out the big candy bars and stuff. And my mom always did. So I bought all the big stuff, man, and I'd go through an easy hundred and twenty bars. And then I always had a big and I'll never this is a great story. It's like the end of the night in Delanco. I have three or four big bars left. It's nine thirty, which is nine o'clock in Delanco was a cut off, but Some guy was just like, Hey man, we just got back from Massachusetts or some shit like that. And I was like, Whatever, man. So there was one kid standing there. And I was just like, Hey man, there's only three or four left. Just go ahead and take all of them. He's Are you sure? And I'm like, Yeah. He's like, Thanks, mister. So he grabs all four. When he went to walk away, I didn't know there was this little ass kid behind him. And he had this look on his face, like, so I turned around. I had like one of those Sam Club things of fucking ring pops, like a bucket. right. And I was just like, Hey, bro. Today's your day. I said, hold that bag open. This can't dad be like four years old. He holds up his bag. I threw that whole bucket in there. And he was like, Thanks, mister. He went to throw it over his shoulder and almost fell off my steps, bro. Like Skeletor: Yeah. Captain Shamus: his dad grabs him and his dad was he was like, Dad, this is the best night ever. This guy's great. We're coming back here next year. And he went to walk. That guy looked at me, he was like, Thanks a lot, asshole. That kid's gonna be on a fucking sugar high until Easter and walked away. Yes, Skeletor: But that's what it's all about. It's like it's always gonna be judgment. Actually you know what you think about too is there's mischief night before Halloween. It's like Captain Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, I forgot about all that. Skeletor: and there's in in New Jersey there's so many different areas that they have a different name for mischief night. Captain Shamus: Yeah, it's like Hell Knight, Devil's Night, Mischief Night, or some show like that. Skeletor: You sit there and it's almost like you wanna be the good house so you don't get the like that frickin' mischief night, the night before get your house egged and that's what pumpkin Captain Shamus: that's that's why my mom always gave out the good stuff and then when I got older I was like why does anybody toilet paper your house or soap up your car? And she's like, I give out the good shit. I was like, Okay. So Skeletor: The only time that people actually soap up my car is actually there's Len and Kim and them are actually in my neighborhood. So they would actually used to, go by and just write, soap up the car and stuff like that. Captain Shamus: Yeah, if somebody did it playfully. Skeletor: So there was never you any a mischief night mischief going on at the, the Herbie household. Captain Shamus: Another good Halloween moment I had was Phillies won the World Series in two thousand eight. The parade is on Halloween night or Halloween day. So I get down there super early. Out of four million people were at that parade, I random my buddy who's there with his grandmother, and he's right along the fence, right near like two blocks from like the Petco line or whatever it is. SEPTA. So the parade goes by. We get to see it, and I'm like, man. That was my first world championship parade I've ever been to. So he turns and looks at me and everybody's heading for Deceptor thing. And he's got his grandmother with him and I'm like Hey man, can you have her act like she's not feeling good? And he was like, What do mean? And I was like, just follow my lead. Dude, I pulled my badge out and I'm like, please get the fuck out of the way. I got a medical emergency, move, move. And she she was like hunched over and everybody cleared this pass and we go running. Moved out of the way, please, please, medical emergency, get the fuck out of the way, move, move, move. So and every but nobody cared because everybody was so jacked up about the world championship finally in Philadelphia. We get all the way down the steps of the train. Move, move, move, move. And my buddy used to play like set like college and semi pro football. So he's a big dude. He was running back. So we get down to the middle and we get down to the turn stop and we had tickets, because you bought a two-way ticket. We handed it to the cop and he saw us coming and that cop I was like, you motherfuckers are out of your mind. so we got on the train. So I got out of there because if everybody remembers, the train stopped running in Philly at like two o'clock. Something happened where all the trains stopped, but we got out of there. I was home by three o'clock. Skeletor: Well Captain Shamus: So I start giving out candy. I've got the TV on in my living room, and it was a beautiful day out that day. I had the door open. And that's they had made it back to the stadium by then. I think it was like five, six o'clock. And All of a sudden, as I'm giving out candy to a couple kids, the dad's sitting there with them, you hear Chase Utley go, World champions. World fucking champions. And everybody on my step was like, Yeah, and I was like, yo, come in and check this shit out. So we all I've got 20 people, trick-or-treaters, parents, people I don't even know. We all come pouring into my house, dude. We're in the living room watching like Chase Utley give that speech. We're like, Yeah, we're all high fiving and shit, man. That was a really good we memory. That's cool. But yeah, we're like, move, get the fuck out of the way, police. People are like, Get out of the way, here comes the police That's back when, you know, they've respected police, but Skeletor: Yeah. Captain Shamus: that's up to cop was like, You motherfuckers are crazy. Skeletor: Like I I remember like one Halloween party I went to with my buddy Joe. He threw one and I was like made up like Darth Mole. And I actually hooked up with a chick that night, met a girl there. It was cool. Nice Yeah, it was a good it was just a good Halloween party, but it's you know was you know I was Darth Mole and this girl was like dressed up like a jester and it was cool. A lot Captain Shamus: Yeah. Skeletor: of stuff for that makeup though, man. It was cool. Captain Shamus: That night at Fetch, you almost got us killed. That was a Halloween party. I'm out. Skeletor: I still should have won the goddamn thing. Captain Shamus: All right, before we get into that horse before we get into that, we're gonna take a quick break though, so 'cause Skeletor: yeah, and remember, be sure to like, rate and subscribe. With that, we will be right back. Hello everybody and welcome back to the Pork Roe Egg and Cheese Podcast Halloween special. Before we went on break, we were talking about the Halloween party that Herbie almost got us killed at at Fets. I don't even know what that place has changed names so many goddamn times. Yeah, Skeletor: One more now, one more bar. Captain Shamus: so apparently one night I'll give you the Cliff Notes version of it, and then Herbie can explain his anger. We went into a bar with me, you The guy who owns Big Bob's wax carrots. Jason from the exciting and new podcast. Yeah. was Sal with us? His cousin Sal. I know Bobby was with us. There was about six or seven of us. we go into this bar right off of roots. What's that? Two or six. Two or six. Yeah. And it's in the middle of nowhere. It's in, you know, in the pineys. And it was a Halloween contest. I forget what I was wearing. I think it might have been the Clark Kent thing, because I did that a lot. Herbie was dressed just like the one dude in that. Stanley Kubrick movie, Eyes Wide Shut with the silver mask and the big pirate hat. Not like this hat, which side note, this I am not Judge Reinhold's character from Fast Times at Richmond High delivering fish sticks. This is supposed to be a pirate costume. but my head's too big for regular hats, so I had to get the one with the thing. But anyway, I digress. I'm not Hamilton. Yo, way to go, Hamilton. So that's not me. But anyway. He was wearing the silver mask with the big buccaneer hat, with the cape. We go in and in order to win the contest, he was in full character mode. He didn't say a word to anybody. He just sat at the bar. So after about forty five minutes to an hour, some of the rednecks were like, Yo, who are you? Da da da, who the fuck? And Herbie would just look at him with those eyes and people started freaking out. At one point I think you did say, like, it doesn't matter who I you don't know who I am. I don't know you. but he said it real low in whispering. So people started getting real upset. And then when they announced contest winners, Herbie wasn't a part of it, but Herbie did not say a word the whole time. And people are now like, Okay, the contest is over, you can take your fucking mask off, and Herbie wouldn't do it. Herbie wouldn't say a word, he wouldn't tell them who they were, and people started getting really fucking freaked out. So of course me seeing it starting to unfold, I I think it was Jason. Skeletor: No yeah, definitely J. Captain Shamus: Yeah, because there were three of them really getting pissed off and I was just like, All right, dude, check this out. I'm gonna take the big guy. You hold off the two other guys until I get done with him and then I'll I'll come over and help you out. And he was like, Are you fucking serious? Like he was like you've seen our like, yeah, Jay's not a fighter, man. He's he's a good dude and all that stuff like that. I just got out of your military so I was ready to, you know, do my thing. Skeletor: To bravely go back into battle. Captain Shamus: Yeah, so Jay's like, Are you serious? And I was like, You're right, dude. You take the big guy. I'll smoke the two little guys, and then we'll both handle the big guy. He almost shit like he Skeletor: Yeah yeah pretty much. Captain Shamus: Come to find out that one of the bartenders walked over, kind of cooled things out a little bit. So at the end of the night we're leaving. And Herbie hadn't said a word until he walked two steps out the door into the park lot. He ripped his mask off, and all he said was, That's fucking bullshit. I should have won that fucking contest. Rah and the other four or five of us looked at each other and were like, dude, we were getting ready to fight the whole fucking bar. Skeletor: No why I fucked those guys out. I should have won. I basically have a mask on kind of like this. It was just a very so like a regular, you know, just no expression mask, and it had a small little hole in the mouth. So it was actually drinking the beers through the s with through a straw but through the mask. I was crying. Captain Shamus: Well. Skeletor: Yeah, but like I was in there. It's like you know what it's like if you go to a party, like well, a public place like that, when you have like the the outfit that I had was like pretty intricate. So was one of those things where if you take off the thing, you gotta go back into the bathroom. You gotta reset everything. And it was just aggravating because people come up to me and they're like, yo, who are you? I'm like, you don't know me, man. So what the hell you need to look at my face for? Instead of doing two seconds of showing on my face. I had to go through all that, go back into the bathroom and rechange it and stuff. So I was just like, look, dude, you don't know me. We're just here having a couple drinks. That's it. They're like, Yeah, but take the mask off. I'm like, fuck you, man, I don't feel like taking it off every three seconds 'cause some goddamn redneck wearing a fucking flannel wants to look at my face and then go, yeah, you're right, I don't know you. I'm like, No shit, fucko. Captain Shamus: That one guy got pissed off. I'm like, what are you dressed as? My name is Earl. Fuck you. Skeletor: Yeah, fuck that guy. I kinda like kept to myself from everyone else. I didn't like tr 'cause I I knew I didn't want to start talking to these people because then it's gonna just gonna aggravate them more. So I was just like ki keeping to myself, drinking my beer with the guys, just chilling. Then I got up and do the thing and then it was just like they were making like a big deal out of nothing. Y you gotta show people twenty people you don't even know who the hell they are and go through with the costume and then they go, yeah, you're right, I don't know you and I'd be like, Yeah, no shit. So why do I gotta keep going through this crap? Especially if you go to a Halloween party and you go and you wear like a like a n a nice costume. 'Cause I I like to dress I'd like the Halloween's like one of my favorite, you know, holidays. So I'd like to wear like cool costumes and just do a cool costume. There's sometimes people as soon as they walk in, they just wanna take the mask off in five or ten minutes of the party. So it's not really like a Halloween costume. Yeah, Captain Shamus: Calm down. Skeletor: just yeah. No, I'm good. That's Captain Shamus: Can go Skeletor: a legend. Captain Shamus: Some snickers and stuff in front of here's a big bowl of candy in front of me. Skeletor: Remember there's a bunch of candy. Captain Shamus: So speaking of candy, when you were younger, what give me your top three when you when you got home and you dumped your bag out, what were you looking for? The first three you were looking for? Skeletor: I would probably say Kit Kats. Eminem's. And actually I did like those Smarties. Remember like the Smarties that came like in the little Because Captain Shamus: Really the rolls? Skeletor: there was like a like what they would get like that one was like a cheaper type of candy and they would just give you a Captain Shamus: A buttload of Yeah. Yeah, but that shit was always chalk to me. Skeletor: It was yeah, but it was like, you it was abundant. You know what I mean? So it was almost like you could go kick at kick at Smarties. Kick at kick at smarties. It almost like cleanses your palate. You know what I mean? And then I used to like getting them back in the day, when McDonald's had those goddamn Sunday machines working, you would get that gift certificate for a free Sunday. Now you get you know what you get? That's cool. That's what you Captain Shamus: Holy shit, I forgot about that. Every once in a while I get a free cheeseburger coupon or a free Sunday coupon. somebody always threw a bag of chips or like a bag of popcorn in your shit. Skeletor: Dude, I g I gotta say this. All you viewers, I I I hated the goddamn popcorn ball. The popcorn ball, it's like who wants to eat that? You know? Captain Shamus: I still get We still sell There was in candy apples. Skeletor: Really yeah, it's like but if it's like a some popcorn in a Ziploc bag, I'm like, Thank you. I just don't want it. I I was always appreciative with whatever I got, but it was just like that. Or Mary Jane's. my god, I hated those Captain Shamus: I love those. Those and bit of honeys. Skeletor: Ugh no. No, sugar babies, yes. The sugar babies are caramel. Just Captain Shamus: What the hell's difference? Yeah, they had chocolate. Skeletor: little bits of c little little jelly beans of caramel, man. That was good. Mm. Or of course there's there was also the sugar babies like the Captain Shamus: okay, I got what I was thinking of milk dough. Skeletor: Burger Daddy's yeah, no no milk does. No hurry. Captain Shamus: Sugar daddies were just like the brown jelly bean look type things. Yeah. I'd have to say my favorite was always a Snickers bar. Snickers, Skeletor: Well yeah, I get to get down at Snickers too. Captain Shamus: Kit Kat, and anything Reese's, whether it was the peanut butter cups or the PCs, man. Yeah. Those were the three I was looking Skeletor: Still rock, man. Captain Shamus: I wrecked some peanut butter. Skeletor: Yeah, I'd go to a dollar store at dollar store now they actually have the Reese's PCs like in a bag. They also have now have the Nowin Laders that are like, the chewy nowinlaters. Or no, I'm sorry, the smart Starburst. Those things. You can either just get red and pink. It's like a big bag. it's fantastic. Captain Shamus: Well I always go that's that's always my first stop when I'm going to a movie nowadays. I always go in there and pick up candy for a move because you get that shit for a dollar instead of paying six, seven bucks for the same bag at a movie theater. So Yeah, I was always a big Snickers, Reese's, couldn't stand the smarty stuff. Remember the the what were they, the deco wafers or whatever the fuck they were? Skeletor: It almost like a thin min or some crib, but it was like bedavic. Captain Shamus: It looked like the shit they gave you at church when you went for communion. It was I think they were called deckos. Skeletor: I know what you mean. It was like a bigger package. Yep. And it was like in wax paper or some crap. Yeah. Captain Shamus: It's never a big anything like almond joy or coconut mounds. Skeletor: Do not put frickin' almonds and coconut in candy. That's that that's that defeats the purpose. And coconut shreds is shitty anyway, so Captain Shamus: And I was never a fan of raisinettes or the chunky bar. Remember Skeletor: No. Captain Shamus: to I don't even know if they still make Chunky had it was like milk chocolate but it had nuts in it and raisins. Yeah. Skeletor: exactly why they don't have chunkies no more. That's why we got Reese's. Keep it the way God intended, man. The good candy. Captain Shamus: And you always know when you went to a super rich house 'cause you get the score bar, the English toffee bar. Skeletor: the scoreboard. I can still rock those things. Captain Shamus: no doubt. Skeletor: I still want them to bring back chocolate dials. people like around my age, you remember chocolate dials? It was basically a chocolate covered Twinkie? I wish they brought those things back. Captain Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, you mentioned that before a couple. Skeletor: I do. Captain Shamus: So let's see. So after you got done trick or treating and you got home and you separated all your stuff, give me some Halloween specials you'd like to watch or leading up to Halloween. definitely. And not horror movies, but they gotta be like Halloween species. Skeletor: Yeah, well definitely the the Halloween the Garfield Halloween was was always fun, but my favorite was the great pumpkin Charlie Brown. Captain Shamus: no doubt. Yeah. He's up there somewhere. yeah. So Skeletor: I always felt bad for Linus though, man. Captain Shamus: I don't Skeletor: Linus goes through all that crap. Remember y one, you don't know what the hell the great pumpkin looks like. I'm like the he talks about the great pumpkin. I'm like, what the hell does the guy look like? Captain Shamus: Never understood why they gave him so much shit. Skeletor: Yeah, boy. Captain Shamus: Like he was like, listen, I'm gonna go chill on this pumpkin thing and I'm gonna go see if I can catch this cat. And everybody's like, You're gonna miss the party. You're gonna miss trick-or-treating your long cat, And he he was like, Whatever. So he goes out there and they still go out there and they're like, Hey man, you're gonna miss all the good stuff, And he was like, I don't, I'm not buying it. I'm waiting for this fucking So they leave, but as he's telling them, like I'm not saying the girl who who likes him's like, you know what? I'm gonna chill with my man. I'm gonna sit here with him and we're gonna we're gonna see this dude together. At the end of the night, they all come back. you didn't get to see him, You missed the party, you missed trick or team, you suck, blah blah blah. And then they walk away. And the chick who said, like he never asked her to stay, he never bet, you know, like hey, you need to stay. She starts giving him a bunch of shit. I can't believe I wasted a whole night and I was just like, dude. Skeletor: She missed out on her tricks or treats. You know? Because Lennus Lattice was basically saying that, like, yo, chill with me in the in the pumpkin patch. The great pumpkin's gonna come down. He's gonna give us a whole bunch of freaking t presents and candy. And you know, of course, no one really fell for that. But then I'm sitting there and like, what the hell does he look like? Like someone's got a chat GPT, like what the hell is Captain Shamus: I was gonna put it up there with that. It was just a actually I cut that's what it looks like, but it just had a jack-o'-lantern on it. I put our Lugo, that's what the great pumpkin looks like to me. But it was just that was a gi it was just like this. But it was a giant pumpkin. Skeletor: It like th they should do another they should do another one where the the great pumpkin comes and helps out Linus and gives him some presents. maybe it's like what the hell does he look like? And it's like total letdown. And then it's like maybe it's like, candies or presents and candies coming out of the top of the jack-o'-lantern's head. But then I'm like, he got totally screwed. Captain Shamus: I just it's like I said, it's Skeletor: And then his chick is giving him a bunch of Captain Shamus: that's and I was just kinda like, Yeah, well, when she gets older she's only gonna get worse, so steer clear that one. Skeletor: Poor Linus. You know what too? I was actually thinking about it because they actually have a lot of horror movies out now based on stories. there's a a Winnie the Pooh horror movie. There's a freaking Yeah, Captain Shamus: Could do a line of Skeletor: they should do a Linus one. after that, he just flips his shit and just rocks everybody and kills with it with his blanket, with a safety blanket. Yeah, Captain Shamus: It beats people to death with a Skeletor: I'd be like Netflix. Netflix, you gotta come up with this idea. Or maybe you can let me do the movie, right? Netflix, hint hint and it'd be like Linus just wrecking shop on people. Captain Shamus: I just watched it the other day. huge Garfield Halloween special guy. obviously Charlie Brown Halloween special. And not because of the like you focus on that. To me, the best part of that is Snoopy fighting a Red Baron. And Skeletor: yeah. Captain Shamus: like I love when he gets shot. He's cur like he's like and he's like cursing at the Red Baron. He blows the foam off the beer. He's like Skeletor: Yeah. Captain Shamus: that's my band right there. Yeah, that's why I got him up on the wall. But Skeletor: Snoopy's my favorite. Captain Shamus: yeah, that's my favorite part of it. And there's a little known I it's on YouTube. I can't find it anywhere else. I have to talk to my connect at Plex. it was the Walt Disney Halloween Hall of Fame with Jonathan Winters, was a security guard and he's walking around and like the jack-o'-lantern was talking to him and shit, but he was also the jack-o'-lantern and they showed The Disney Ichabob Crane one. And then the witches with the three ducks. I forget what the hell they were called. They Donald Ducks' nephews and stuff. That special was always one of my favorites too. and there was one more. What was the other one? I forget. it was this is how I got into music. This is how I started drumming when I was a kid. the Paul Lind Halloween special came on. It was from nineteen seventy six. I think it was like eighty-two. It's when HBO first came out and they started replaying all this stuff. And they had the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz on and she was in full costume show. But they also had that's when KISS really started taking off in seventy six. They had KISS come out and do a live show and then they were part of the Halloween special and stuff. And I was like, I want to do that. That shit looks cool. You know, da da and then they were on the Dick Clark New Year's Eve special and they and I was like, dude, I'm hooked. But yeah, that was always my favorite special. I still watch that every once in a while. Skeletor: I do. I th the the headless horseman was actually one of my favorites too, 'cause that was actually those types of specials were always Captain Shamus: I'm infatuated with that dude. yeah. I that that character, him and him and Ghost Rider to me are two of the coolest characters ever. Skeletor: The art alone in that was actually really good too, man. It was also what was the other one that was in Fantasia when Mickey Mouse is doing the Fantasia thing and the demon guys raising all the skeletons and stuff. That was always epic for me to watch too. It was but those those types of specials w have a special Captain Shamus: That's my name right there. Skeletor: It was like a special feeling and meaning for me because you're sitting at home, you're with your family, you're with other friends, you're with other kids that are all hyped up for Halloween, 'cause they would normally play that before Halloween came out, when you actually got to go out and do Halloween. So you get Captain Shamus: Yes. Skeletor: you all pumped up and then you're like running out there with with your pillowcase. And remember, always take or actually I should say, remember, use a pillowcase instead of a plastic bag. Holds a lot more candy and a lot more drawing. Captain Shamus: Yes, sir. Did you ever see that right after this we go to break? You ever seen the WWF Halloween special back in the eighties where they show kids go up to Roddy Roddy Piper's door and they all had plastic bags? And he was just like, all right, let's see what I got for you. He was like, Here, I got a stapler, I got this. And he was like, Wow, you guys got a lot of candy. And he was just like, Yeah, he was like, Who's got the most candy here? And the kid was like, I do. He's like, Let me see your bag. I got something special for you. So the kid opens up and he grabs a bowling ball and he throws it and the bag rips open on the bottom. And the kid goes to walk away. And he was like, Thanks for coming. He grabs all the candy, runs back in his house. I was cr like when you watch that now, I was crying, dude. That shit was hysterical. So all right, we're gonna take another quick break. then when we come back, we'll talk about maybe some of our favorite horror stories, favorite costumes we rocked as a kid. And then we'll start wrapping this up. So remember, like, rate, and subscribe. Team Porkroll25 at gmail.com and audio on Apple, video on Spotify and YouTube. We'll be right back. Hello everybody and welcome back to the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese Podcast Halloween special. So growing up, man, give me your top three costumes of all time. Skeletor: Definitely Ninja that I did for four years in a row. But I actually had real weapons, so it actually made it you know more badass. Darth Mole. I did like heavy, you know, a lot of heavy makeup. I had like the ball cap and the horns and everything and the just the makeup and the outfit and and god. It was a werewolf. Yeah, Captain Shamus: Really? Skeletor: it was cool, man. It was like back in the day, dude like you the late How old were you? I think like maybe ten or eleven. Okay. Yeah, so they started doing that. A friend of mine in Hamilton, he's his name's Darren. He had he's really tall guy and he did a werewolf. And it was just incredible looking, man. So in Hamilton, in order to get to my house, you had to cross over this big metal bridge. And he actually he knew we were coming home and he waited at the bridge. And when we got over it, he came out and it was like dude, it like scared the shit out of me. It was great. So around that time, a lot of the American Werewolf in London had really good Yeah, Captain Shamus: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skeletor: so I I had this really cool latex mask. That was just it was it was cool. I had that for years. Yeah, it was a it was a cool looking werewolf mask. Captain Shamus: I always hated that when you were a kid. Somebody would always leave a big bowl of candy like that on the porch. And leading up to Halloween, there was always a scarecrow sit on the porch so the night of Halloween they would fucking dad would go out there, put all the same shit on and be in the same post. Cause so now you think you're walk past it every day on the way to school. You're like, yeah. I never I was never one of those guys that would grab a bowl and dump it. I always took one. I was always that dude, on the honor system deal. and even if you even if you were doing the right thing, them fucking guys would jump up and scare the shit out of you, man. Like you'd walk up and like grab I think I'll grab a Snickers and you're gonna grab it and you're d I used to fucking hate that. I hated that. I always like to my and my father turned me on to this too. he would sit outside all the neighbor like we had a huge front porch on the front of our house. if anybody from my neighborhood remembers this. All the parents would pretty much sit up on the porch and, you know, the wives would either stay in the house or they would come over and when kids would go, they're like, hey, six houses right here. You can knock out six houses. And then my dads would get, you know, my dad would like ask the parents, Hey, you want a beer? 'Cause that was their trick or cheat. My dad would, you know, throw them a beer or whatever like that. I always did that in Delynko too. so you're gonna go with we're getting off track, so let me get back. you're gonna with Ninja, werewolf, and what was the other one? Darth Skeletor: Darth Mole. Captain Shamus: Maul. Is that because you hooked up with that chick or just because it was c it Skeletor: Yeah it was cool. I have double no, Captain Shamus: paint or was it a mask? Skeletor: it was paint. Captain Shamus: Next year we're gonna have to bring in photos of all this stuff. We'll put it up on that's like I said, we're still learning we're still learning how to do this stuff. So yeah, next year. I think my when you were a kid, man, and I'm sure you guys remember this, you used to get the box and you would open it up, and it was like a plastic suit with like that plastic ass mask. I remember the first one I ever wanted I got to pick out was He Man. so I was definitely He Man. Sorry. But like I said, it was like it was like a trash bag with a print on it and a plastic mask that if you blinked your eye the wrong way would cut around your eyes and shitter your lips. one of the most controversial ones I've ever done and it was all good fun I dressed as a nun in third grade and I was going to Catholic school. So we had the Halloween parade and the day w I walked I walked out of the bathroom with that, some of the nuns were hysterical and some of like the older ones were just like that. So and now my you know, they called home and they were just like, Hey, do you know he's somewhere today? My mom's like, Well, where do you think he got the money for it? I bought it. Like it's yeah. And my mom wasn't disrespectful. She was just like, Listen, he's Catholic, like he made communion, We're paying money for him to go to school. It's kind of an homage like It's it's a joke. Just kinda relax. Yeah. I do have a picture of that somewhere of me dressed as a nun in third grade. so it was he man, nun. And I'm probably have to go with this the Clark Kent thing, man. Yeah, I don't know. Because it was so simple. And you know, back in those days I was younger and I kinda looked half decent. So yeah, that was Ooh, and I was also Rorschach from Skeletor: yeah. Captain Shamus: Watchman one year. I had the trench coat with the hat with the mask that It was yeah, that was pretty cool. When you turn certain ways, 'cause the way the light would hit it, it would reflect different patterns and stuff. It was actually pretty cool looking. So yeah, those are probably my three. So Skeletor: Yeah, I do. I I love Halloween 'cause especially with me working in the hospital, I work basically all the holidays. So I always like people that know me, they know I always dress up not not only just for the coworkers, but more importantly for the patients, 'cause a lot of times patients are there during the holiday and they already feel like crap. They don't want to be there at a holiday, say Christmas and Thanksgiving and stuff like that. So I normally will wear a costume and I'm up on the floors And I get to interact with the patients and and they they really do appreciate it. And I I'm pretty much known for that at the hospital. Captain Shamus: Yeah, I loved Halloween as kid. And it I it not pisses me off, but it you it's a shame that none of these kids cause I used and Delanco, dude, that was one of my favorite days. Just to see the joy on and not so much like eighth, ninth, and tenth graders that are still trick or treating or cool as long as you dress up. Don't show up my house just wearing some fucking basic bullshit with a big nah it's not no. But like the younger kids. when you like and they know when they see you coming to the door with the big bars and their eyes get real big and they're all like, yeah, it's like we're coming back next year. I just don't to see the look on the kids' faces and all this. And some of the costumes they they wear. Cause some of these kids are, you know, they'll wear like I don't even know what's cool nowadays, but like back when I was in Delaco, like the little kids wore like the Power Ranger stuff or I'm sure He Man's big now that the movie's out But like you'll get one kid who like just off the cuff will make something out of a cardboard box or I'm a box of Cheerios and you're just like, dude, that's fucking Skeletor: Very creative. Captain Shamus: Yeah, so like the creative stuff I I really Skeletor: Even if you don't have a lot of money, just the fact of like just being creative and using just like regular everyday items is awesome. And not only that they're having a great time and they're getting a bunch of candy. Absolutely. Captain Shamus: absolutely. Yeah, they were really good too. what was it? They were like alphabet soup the one year that had alphabets all over or something like that, or Skeletor: Captain Sh yeah, comedy, Captain Cheerios and Captain Shamus: Cheerios, that's what it was. He had the Cheerios box on his head and stuff. Yeah, I love when people, especially like adults are cool, but when little kids do it, man. It's Skeletor: it's divorce. Captain Shamus: awesome. it's a shame I couldn't go back to I wasn't in Tabernacle this year, last Halloween. And I have a picture of it somewhere. A kid was wearing, he was in fourth grade. He was actually in my ex-girlfriend's class. so she can attest to this if you know if she ever still listens, but he wore like a police uniform. So she called me over and I was like, What's up? She was like, Discan I don't want to say his name 'cause he's a minor. She was like, we'll call him T. She was like, T wants to take a picture of you. And I was like, with you and I was like, Why? She was like, He said he's you for Halloween. And I was like, Get out. So I I look over and he's wearing a police uniform and I was like, So we get a picture together and he was like, Next year he was like, I'm wearing that and he pointed to my security suit. if which was a black polo and cacao pants. He was like, I'm gonna be you again next year and I was like All right, bud. I I it's gonna be this Friday. I don't work there anymore and I'm sure she's not gonna send me a picture of it. But yeah, that kind of really makes you feel good when kids are just like, Yeah, man, I'm you for Halloween and I'm like, That's what's up. I figured he'd walk around with a big ass, like balloon head or some shit like that, talking about, Yeah, I'm Mr. Seamus or I'm Mr. Buttcrack 'cause I got this big ass head, but Skeletor: The amount of costumes that they have out now, they're there's so many different especially being now the past few years that cosplay is so huge now. The Captain Shamus: That shit is ridiculous. Skeletor: costumes now are just absolut they're just they're crazy. And not only that, people make incredible costumes. Captain Shamus: Well you see that I I showed you a couple was two, three months ago. Well, when I got the Lego Batman three D printed, my buddy was doing the the Doom mask, the Doctor Doom mask But dude, you can there's so much there's so many ways to create and do different things nowadays. It's unbelievable. I was at work today during my break and I was proofing all this stuff, all the stuff you see on the T the screen behind us, and a dude walked up to me and he was like one of my fellow security officers and he was just kinda like, Dude, that's awesome. Like, how do you do that? And we're just like, Well And I'm not gonna give out any. But I kind of I yeah, I kinda told him and he was just like, Are you serious? I'm like, it's that easy, dude. Like you can do so much stuff nowadays, technology wise, between 3D printers, AI, anything. So there's no need not to be creative around this time of year or to help your kids out if they're trying to, you know, dad, I want to do this, but you know, don't be like, no, we're not gonna do that. We're just gonna go buy you a costume and sit down with some glue. Hoklu gun, some staples and stuff, or you know, cut some stuff up, three D print some stuff for these kids and you know, let them be whatever they wanna be. Skeletor: Well, I I think now that the generations that are younger than us, the the parents now, in their twenties and maybe early, early thirties, are getting really into all the holidays, the one for decorations of the house. know, Captain Shamus: them skeleton things. I'm like, what the Skeletor: yeah and you got like you know the the adult parties and and you always have like the couples that like dress like as like you know like a team type of outfits and stuff is still pretty big so like I I think like the younger generation of of parents are still keeping the magic of Halloween not just for them but also for their kids through decorations and you know just having their adult parties and having parties for their kids which is awesome. Captain Shamus: Yeah, it's it's like I said, I always did like I've never been married, I've never had kids, so when I lived in Delaico, I decorated my house strictly for all the kids coming for Halloween to get candy or like even at Christmas time, I I hung lights up and stuff. bought a Christmas tree, decorated it. I always did Christmas morning at my parents' house when they were still with us. So I mean, it was just stuff that I did so when people came over it was, you know, part of the holiday season. And Skeletor: any type of tradition that is just it's not just for you, but it's also for the people. Like it's just in the environment. It's just like having a fun environment for like this it's different seasons and holidays. So I I I like that it's it's still continuing. And it's you know just nice in general, man, because it it does. It just it cause kids remember what the parents do for them for these types of holidays. Yep. You know what I mean? And it's just Captain Shamus: it's like I said, I can I I can tell you exactly what I wore there. I was a nun that year. There's so many great memories I have of growing up on Halloween. It's awesome. All right. Now that you're older, you get home from or you give out all the candy and stuff like that, you shut the door, you're off the next day. What scare just one scary movie will you watch on Halloween? I mean I'm gonna go with the obvious one, why you think? I'm just gonna go with Hall the original Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis and Skeletor: Yeah. the music's always good. like me it's gonna be like a zombie movie. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I'd probably say either Day of the Dead or Dawn of the Dead. Okay. Yeah, the George George Romero like any George Romero flick. I'm like the original Night of the Living Dead is cool, but it's more black and white, but you know, the second and third one are still like my favorite ones. The you know, the the remake of Night of the Living Dead is cool, the one that's in colour. I'd like I'll I'd like that too. Captain Shamus: All right. So what we're going to do now is we're going to give out some safety tips for all the kids out there. Stuff you probably should be doing as an adult and as a child. Who's going out Halloween day? Or yeah, 'cause this year it's on a Saturday, man. So I think Medford said they're trick or treating windows from three to eight, which means you have five hours to go out there and load up. So I'm hoping I get a couple kids this year. The first thing is if you're going out with friends, make sure you go out in a group and you all stay together. Make sure you're constantly doing a head count, after once you guys clear, like what we used to do on Riverside is back on the avenues, they were all, eight hundred blocks, seven hundred blocks, six hundred blocks, So once we got done with the eight hundred block, we would all sit on the corner waiting for traffic to go by or talking to some other people and I would just do a head count. It's okay, we got Child's, we got Bobby, we Bill, we got Nicole, we Karina, All right, we got everybody. keep moving. So just make sure you guys are keeping account of who you're with. if you pick up people along the way, make sure that they tell their group that they left that, I'm with them. I mean with cell phones now every kid's got a cell phone. You can you can track with cell phones and stuff. Yeah but just make sure you Skeletor: Yeah. Captain Shamus: guys are, you know, taking care of each other and and aware of, you know, who's with you and your surroundings and stuff. What safety tip would you give out there, Mr. Herbie? We'll go back and forth. Skeletor: Yeah, I would say when when you're in our age, back in our day, having a flashlight is always good 'cause you're still walking around in the dark and you're negotiating through other people's houses, in the front yards and stuff like that. So always having a flashlight to be able to see what you're doing because if you're wearing a mask, your your vision's not that great. So and and now too, I still still to this day, that and any type of lights. 'Cause basically if you're walking through neighborhoods and stuff like that or Or if you're crossing the street to get to another house, there's other cars. So just just be able to for you to be able to see and to be visible by other people, especially people that are driving. Captain Shamus: And that way if you have the not so pretty girls at your table at the front of your house who are scaring away all the pretty girls, that they don't look good because you got the flashlight. And you can just hit them off and be like, Skeletor: Yeah, but they never left though, they kept staying. I like you had snacks, I had food, Captain Shamus: But Skeletor: and they just they just stayed. Captain Shamus: Do they still make glow sticks for Halloween? Remember they had the different kind of glow sticks or flashlights Skeletor: So much stuff on Captain Shamus: with the pumpkin or Yeah. So yeah, there's no need. Skeletor: But now Captain Shamus: No reason you shouldn't have some kind of light. And it like we said before on cell phones, everybody's got a flashlight. Skeletor: yeah, everybody's got a cell phone. Captain Shamus: Absolutely. another thing to do is make sure that not only you stay in a large group of people, if somebody pulls up in like a van or something like that, I know this sounds like nineteen eighty CBS after school special shit. But if somebody pulls up and like, hey, do you guys want to ride? We're going to this place Do not get in any car with anybody you do not know. I don't care if it's somebody from your neighborhood that you know think might be cool and all that stuff like that, like the guy who lives for downstairs, not. Get in anybody's car you don't feel if if there's a doubt in your mind that maybe I shouldn't do this, do not do it. So Skeletor: I got one. Captain Shamus: And if they keep pursuing it, just run to somebody's house and knock on the door and be like, this dude keeps bugging me, wants me to get up in this ride and shit. Can you call a cop or call my parents? I mean, you have a cell phone. Most kids have a cell phone, but make Skeletor: But just run Captain Shamus: sure, yeah, run to a house, get with an adult and let them know what's going on. So you got another one, bud? Skeletor: Yes. Don't eat the for little kids. Don't eat your candy yet until you get home to get it inspected. Captain Shamus: Yeah, that's still a thing, man. Skeletor: Even for the the older kids, 'cause you'll you'll have in the series, early in the morning early Halloween, you'll have the little kids come out, then you have the the older kids, and then you have the high school kids come out, and then you got some twenty year old with a bass guitar walking around trying to get free candy. So just don't eat the candy yet until you get home. Check it out because there's people still doing weird shit to candy. You know what I mean? Captain Shamus: no doubt. It's batch it's it's so much easier nowadays. here's a prime example of that. Skeletor: No, the lace stuff too. they can lace the candy, so just Captain Shamus: Being in law enforcement they showed us a clip one time of how people steam the outside of the package to to kinda loosen up the glue. They pull the package apart. They'll take a needle and inject rat poison or something like that into something like a Snickers bar. And then they take more glue and they kinda heat seem you wouldn't have no idea somebody tampered with this Snickers bar or whatever like that. And it's kinda hard to I mean, I don't even know if parents can pick up on stuff like that, but I mean people stick razors and Yeah, that that was a big thing when we were kids. They would stick razors and Skeletor: Yeah, and there would be that little pinhole thing you used to do. Captain Shamus: How's that? Any kind of I I know the older people are just trying to be nice. If they give you some kind of piece of produce an orange or an apple or something like that, take it. Hey, thank you, When you get home, make sure you throw that out. Skeletor: Or those goddamn bowls of popcorn. Don't Captain Shamus: Yeah. Well I Skeletor: eat that crap. Don't eat the balls of popcorn. It's very nice Captain Shamus: If it's if it's homemade, don't eat it. But if it comes from BJ's or Sam's you can send it this way. Skeletor: It's unless if it's a rice crispy treat. That's another one I like. Rice crispy. Captain Shamus: If they do give you if you live in this area, if you live in Medford or maybe even Tabernacle, whether it's Lakeside, Schoolside or South Side, we have a ton of deer out this way. So if they do give you an apple or an orange or something like that, just toss it out in the backyard and make sure the deers get something for a Halloween. They'll eat it. Skeletor: And if the deer bites it, then it was all, Captain Shamus: If the deer lays if the deer is dead in your yard the next day, y know that old lady was trying she was trying to take you off the count. Yeah. Skeletor: And you never know too, man. You might have some sicko that's like teabagging every goddamn Kit Kat in his thing, you know what I mean? Next thing you taste. It's just like And there's like there could be some sicklos that work at the factories of these candy places and you know, that gets distributed everywhere. Captain Shamus: Another thing is when you do go trick or treating, don't buy that whole, hey, I just ran out of candy. Why don't you come in the house real quick? I've got some more inside. Do not go into anybody's house that you do not know. If you don't have a parent with you and somebody's just like, hey man, don't ask a stranger if you can use their bathroom. Right. worst case scenario, man, just find Skeletor: Find a bush. Captain Shamus: a bush somewhere in pee or Skeletor: Cause if you go you you go into a house and you start hearing that music from the silence of the Yeah Captain Shamus: You might not come back out. Skeletor: you're like, Did you cry when the lambs were slaughtered, Clarice? You're like, Yeah, you're not making it man. Captain Shamus: We still Skeletor: Be in a goddamn wall. Captain Shamus: Parents, you should be doing the same thing. You should be make sure if you have a group of kids with you, make sure you have a head count at all times. Make sure you have a flashlight, some kind of communication tool. So if shit does hit the fan, you can, you know, call the police. dads, try not to get if you're, you know, walking with a couple road sodas and stuff, and then people like my dad like, Hey, you want a beer? And you throw you a beer and the next thing you you're four or five deep. Try to keep it together a little bit. you wanna be able to fight or flight deal if you know shit does hit the fan. And that's pretty much about it. Skeletor: Yeah, just have fun with Halloween, ever Captain Shamus: Yeah, this is a good time of year, man. Skeletor: It's just basically this type of holiday is actually for the little kids, Captain Shamus: And dress up, man. If your fucking kids want you to dress up I hate when dudes My buddy Taylor, God love him to death. He was such when it come to Halloween, like his kids at the time they were I mean, they were little. And she wanted to be Wonder Woman and the son wanted to be Flash. So he was like he looked at his wife and he was like, you have to be they were the Justice League. He dressed up as Superman. Yeah. She wa was Batgirl or something like that. Like Anytime the kids had an idea for a group thing, he was like, dude, I'm down. He didn't care what he was wearing. So yeah, man, that's another great memory. If your kids want you to dress up with them and stuff like that, don't be like, I'm too cool for that. Duh da. Man, put that shit on. Skeletor: Well actually you know what? I have a friend Tyler and his wife Lindsay that are really big into decoration and they they are that type of parents that they will dress up. They the cool thing is what they'll do is they have like It's Captain Shamus: throw up yellow in a minute. Skeletor: those goddamn candy corns. But it's like t Tyler and Lindsay would actually have their kids dress up and they still do it 'cause their their kids are still young. They also have like a group of other f other married couples with their kids and they all you know do trick or treating together, but they'll actually have a caravan of golf carts and they ride around that's cool too do that. So if anything, be like Tyler and Lindsay. Love you guys. Captain Shamus: Yeah. And make sure if I don't know what I think it's supposed to be super nice that day. Yeah. It's supposed to be seventy. But just make sure you guys take a sweatshirt, a hoodie, or just keep an eye on the weather. I've had kids come to my house and they were just blue, free and they were trying to tough it out. And me being a stranger, I couldn't go, Hey man, do you want to come in and warm Skeletor: They are warm up. Captain Shamus: so you were just kind of like a I I there was a couple times I had like those Heater things for your hands. yeah. You break open and stuff. And I'll be like, hey, I got a couple of these. And I like I would give them to some of the older kids. I wouldn't give them to younger kids. it's like I said, besides that time with the World Series where everybody came pouring into my house when Chase Hutley went off. It's like I said, I never invited anybody in, so don't go into anybody's house. and make sure you're dressing appropriately for the wet and stay hydrated. Make sure you guys got water with you and stuff. Cause I mean, five, five to eight or nine o'clock in Medford, that's a lot of walking, man. So make sure you guys are staying hydrated. Yeah. Skeletor: Yeah, but you what they th like there's also another one now. There's a lot of parents out there now that actually will go outside like I used to and have it set up out front. Mm-hmm. This way you don't have to keep getting up and down when every time someone knocks on the door. So they'll just sit outside, have the candy there, have a little bonfire, you know, have some spooky music playing and stuff like that, which is it's fun for the adults too, 'cause they can see all the costumes. They don't have to keep getting up and down, but like, you know They see some kids and they go sit down and then someone knocks on the door again and they gotta come back up. So they they're out front of their house just enjoying the whole environment and the whole neighborhood with a bonfire and having the big adult beverages and just chilling. Mm-hmm. So, Captain Shamus: Yeah, I love this time. This is the time of year where it just kinda it's like the roller coaster. You're like and this is where you're starting to come over to crest. Because as soon as Halloween passes, it's Thanksgiving and right into Christmas. And this these next two and a half months are gonna fly. Hey, yeah, Skeletor: Yeah. Captain Shamus: take a minute to enjoy the minute, the moment that you're in. So make sure you take a ton of pictures and all that good stuff.
