- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, this is Ossie from Sister's Doll and yeah, I'm
- 0:04Speaker 1: the lead guitarist.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Beautiful, awesome.
- 0:07Speaker 3: You're probably sick of this question, but there's no better
- 0:09Speaker 3: way to kick off an interview, I guess with an
- 0:12Speaker 3: annoying question.
- 0:13Speaker 2: How did you guys get the name Sister's Doll?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yeah? I know, we do get asked out a lot
- 0:17Speaker 1: actually because it's interesting, but the story ain't that exciting.
- 0:21Speaker 1: But you know, when we began, were like, we want
- 0:24Speaker 1: to do the whole glam rock thing, you know, do
- 0:25Speaker 1: the whole We're a little bit more out there. We're
- 0:28Speaker 1: a lot more colorful, and we'd wear them like pretty
- 0:30Speaker 1: heavy makeup with pink blush and things like that, and
- 0:32Speaker 1: we're like, okay, we want to be in that, like
- 0:35Speaker 1: that glam veins. So at the time we were loving
- 0:37Speaker 1: like Twisted Sister and we're looking at New York Dolls
- 0:40Speaker 1: logo and we're like, I think Brennan now singer, I
- 0:43Speaker 1: was like, how about Sister's Doll. We'll just try to
- 0:46Speaker 1: come up with stuff and that He just blurted it out,
- 0:47Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, it's kind of got good, good
- 0:49Speaker 1: syllables to it. You know, Sister's doll people to chant
- 0:52Speaker 1: it out and we're like, okay, we'll go with that,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and that stuck for the past fifteen years now.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So yeah, oh that's awesome.
- 0:57Speaker 3: So there's no real sort of story about some pig
- 1:00Speaker 3: doll of someone's sisters or anything that.
- 1:02Speaker 1: No, we played on the concept a bit, you know,
- 1:04Speaker 1: with the first album being Dollhouse and the second album
- 1:07Speaker 1: was all old up and the third album now has
- 1:10Speaker 1: a song called baby Doll, and yeah, we kind of
- 1:12Speaker 1: kept it in that with that, within that concept a
- 1:15Speaker 1: little bit.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 1:17Speaker 3: And can you tell us about the inspiration behind your
- 1:19Speaker 3: latest album, Scars.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. I mean, inspiration wise, it was kind
- 1:24Speaker 1: of we hadn't released an album for a good The
- 1:28Speaker 1: last the second album we released in twenty seventeen, so
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's been like a good once that five six years
- 1:34Speaker 1: before we've released like an album, and we'd released a
- 1:36Speaker 1: single during that time. But it was like, it's time
- 1:39Speaker 1: to release an album, I think, you know, like people
- 1:41Speaker 1: were craving it, craving some new material, and we we
- 1:46Speaker 1: were always writing a lot, and we sort of during
- 1:50Speaker 1: COVID actually we sort of built like a bit of
- 1:52Speaker 1: a studio at home so we could dammle up some
- 1:54Speaker 1: music and some songs and sort of do some pre
- 1:56Speaker 1: production stuff and that's basically what it was. Was just
- 2:00Speaker 1: like the inspiration was just what we're gone through at
- 2:02Speaker 1: the time, of what we've been through in our past lives.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Hence why the album's called Scars, because each song sort
- 2:08Speaker 1: of represents a scar of our lives that we've been through,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know. So and that's basically the inspiration. It was
- 2:14Speaker 1: just we felt like it was time to release the
- 2:16Speaker 1: new music, which we did and yeah, all of it
- 2:20Speaker 1: began just with in this room literally like doing pre
- 2:23Speaker 1: production and demoing up a bunch of songs. We got
- 2:26Speaker 1: in touch with a producer, Ricky Ray out of Lighthill
- 2:29Speaker 1: Sound Studios and he's very well respected in the Melbourne scene,
- 2:33Speaker 1: in all of the Australian music industry. He does a
- 2:37Speaker 1: lot of stuff. So yeah, that's just how it started.
- 2:41Speaker 1: We got in touch with him, he said, send me songs.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He just keep sending me songs and we're constantly demoing
- 2:46Speaker 1: and we picked the best out of a lot and
- 2:49Speaker 1: it is what it is.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah awesome. And I was watching a clip from
- 2:54Speaker 3: You Guys way back in the day and it was
- 2:57Speaker 3: an American I believe you guys were going in around.
- 3:00Speaker 2: An American town.
- 3:02Speaker 3: It looked like Las Vegas. I could be totally wrong,
- 3:04Speaker 3: but you guys were so young. Did you guys experience
- 3:07Speaker 3: that success so rapidly and quickly overseas.
- 3:12Speaker 1: At the time. When we first went to America as
- 3:14Speaker 1: a band, we were there for about three weeks and
- 3:16Speaker 1: we were based sort of in LA for the three weeks,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and we did shows at the Whiskey and there was
- 3:20Speaker 1: like a music seminar we went to and we did
- 3:24Speaker 1: we went to Vegas and things like that. And during
- 3:27Speaker 1: that time, we're only there for three weeks. This was
- 3:29Speaker 1: like in twenty twelve, I think it was. And during
- 3:31Speaker 1: that short amount of time were there were creating a
- 3:33Speaker 1: bit of a buzz, like people were trying to get
- 3:35Speaker 1: in touch with us, and we met a lot of
- 3:37Speaker 1: agents and publicists and things like that, and during that
- 3:43Speaker 1: short time were there, like things were starting to happen.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But you know, it was we had management at the
- 3:47Speaker 1: time that wasn't very fitting for us, and it kind
- 3:49Speaker 1: of held us back a little bit. But then we
- 3:52Speaker 1: were very young too. But the experience we had there
- 3:55Speaker 1: was great. It was starting to grow, but we're only
- 3:57Speaker 1: there for the three weeks, and then we never went
- 3:58Speaker 1: back for like for years until only recently recent years
- 4:02Speaker 1: been going back a little bit more what's the word occasionally,
- 4:08Speaker 1: you know, but a bit more frequently, sorry to sort
- 4:12Speaker 1: of touch the masses there because they seem to love it.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, that must have been crazy, so young experience
- 4:20Speaker 3: that at the time, I can imagine.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, Like I mean at the time, I think
- 4:25Speaker 1: I was like fourteen or something, and there was like, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: publicists and agents all keen on us, and like they're like,
- 4:33Speaker 1: we need to move here, like we they gave us
- 4:36Speaker 1: a tour around like this apartment complex to like live, and yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 1: we didn't obviously go through with it, but at the
- 4:43Speaker 1: time it was like it was tempting and we just
- 4:46Speaker 1: and then we went through a rough patch after that
- 4:49Speaker 1: with personal band reasons and management and things like that,
- 4:52Speaker 1: so it kind of held us back. But you know,
- 4:54Speaker 1: we're stronger than ever now, so whatever happens now, who knows.
- 4:59Speaker 3: And you know what, it might not have worked out
- 5:00Speaker 3: in the end anyway, if you did jump on.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That, maybe not. Yeah, maybe I'm sure there was a
- 5:05Speaker 1: reason for it that it didn't happen, So.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And how do you balance your distinct sound whilst exploring
- 5:11Speaker 3: new musical territories.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That's a really good question. Good. It's basically like the
- 5:21Speaker 1: four of us have a we have about each individual
- 5:23Speaker 1: sort of like personal taste. Like collectively collectively we know
- 5:26Speaker 1: we love Kiss and Van Halen and Motley Crue and
- 5:29Speaker 1: all the big guys, you know, but personally, like you know,
- 5:32Speaker 1: Brass is heavy into like Machine Gun, Kelly and I
- 5:36Speaker 1: love like Post Malone. You know, Brennan's Brennan's quite into
- 5:40Speaker 1: our singer. He's quite into he likes a lot of
- 5:43Speaker 1: country stuff and things like that. Like he's very lyrically driven,
- 5:47Speaker 1: so a lot of that stuff touches him a bit.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And say Jay younger brother who's recently joined, is a
- 5:52Speaker 1: bass player now he's he's got his own taste too.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So we whatever comes out of us is pretty much natural,
- 5:58Speaker 1: like whatever we're writing in the in the moment, Like
- 6:00Speaker 1: Brennan will bring some lyrics to me and a song idea,
- 6:03Speaker 1: so you just you really go with what fits the song.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And with all the music we do, it's not like
- 6:10Speaker 1: we don't try to write like, oh, this is gonna
- 6:12Speaker 1: be a heavy song. We're gonna let's try write a
- 6:16Speaker 1: let's try to write a hit, let's try write this
- 6:18Speaker 1: or whatever. It's just like, whatever comes through us in
- 6:20Speaker 1: that moment is what comes through. And I guess like
- 6:24Speaker 1: just by like, all our influences come through within that.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So yeah, I hope you can't hear my.
- 6:33Speaker 2: No, no, it sounds fine.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Definitely, you can definitely hear all those influences in your music.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But I think what's great about you guys is that there's.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Not one of those influences that I can be like, oh,
- 6:44Speaker 3: they've just ripped off kiss or you know, whatever it is.
- 6:47Speaker 2: You've combined them all and made it your own.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we try to, you know, like and again it's
- 6:51Speaker 1: not like we don't try to sound like people like
- 6:53Speaker 1: we get a lot of we do actually get a
- 6:56Speaker 1: lot of comments saying like, oh, I hear a lot
- 6:57Speaker 1: of kiss harmonies and it sounds like kiss, and like
- 7:00Speaker 1: does it We're like, really, we don't hear any kiss
- 7:02Speaker 1: in our music at all, Like maybe a little, but
- 7:05Speaker 1: we don't it just you know, but it naturally comes through,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I guess, And if that's what people hear, that's what
- 7:09Speaker 1: they hear, but no, it's never We don't try to
- 7:11Speaker 1: sound like people. We try to sound like us. And
- 7:14Speaker 1: we feel like with this album we've sort of really
- 7:15Speaker 1: found our sound and it's just it all naturally comes through.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Whatever we feel is what we feel. And yeah, that's
- 7:22Speaker 1: about it.
- 7:22Speaker 3: And then so I suppose going back to your very
- 7:24Speaker 3: early days your childhood, was that music being that type
- 7:28Speaker 3: of music being played a lot at home and is
- 7:30Speaker 3: that what got you into that genre?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, one hundred percent. Our dad was. He was a
- 7:35Speaker 1: music musician. He played in a lot of cover bands
- 7:37Speaker 1: and he had his own original stuff too. But yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 1: like growing up, like I think the first music I
- 7:43Speaker 1: heard when I came in from the hospital, you know,
- 7:45Speaker 1: like being born was probably kissed cranking on the speakers.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I don't know, Like, but we my dad, our dad
- 7:50Speaker 1: was you know, we had all the kiss Rememberabilier in
- 7:52Speaker 1: our house. We have the kiss pinball, We have the
- 7:54Speaker 1: kissed posters everywhere, like just you know's we have were
- 7:58Speaker 1: brought up and you know, but he didn't crank and
- 8:00Speaker 1: everything things from like Van Halen, Yeah, yeah, kiss def Leppard,
- 8:04Speaker 1: even some Shania Twain, Like there's a whole variety of
- 8:07Speaker 1: stuff he'd crank. So we'll just we just had that
- 8:12Speaker 1: variety in US. And I mean obviously the main core
- 8:15Speaker 1: genre was rock and roll, so that's it's just it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: just naturally in us. We don't we didn't choose that genre.
- 8:21Speaker 1: We just it's what we felt like we wanted to
- 8:23Speaker 1: do because that's what we looked up to as kids.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it chose you. The genre chose you exactly, great
- 8:28Speaker 2: way to put it.
- 8:28Speaker 1: You said it better than me.
- 8:29Speaker 2: That's great, and you did briefly touch on it before
- 8:33Speaker 2: you like post Malone.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Is there any other musical artists that you like that
- 8:37Speaker 3: may be a bit of a surprise given the music
- 8:39Speaker 3: you make.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, Like I'm influenced by a lot of stuff,
- 8:43Speaker 1: Like like, honestly, you know, I don't know how rock
- 8:47Speaker 1: and roll fans wold feel about this, but like Sabrina Carpenter,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I think some of her music's great, even some music
- 8:53Speaker 1: by like Olivia Rodrigo or where the four of us
- 8:57Speaker 1: acquorded to young Blood as well. We feel like he's great,
- 9:00Speaker 1: really keeping that spirit alive a rock and roll But
- 9:03Speaker 1: you know, you've got to listen to everything. I think
- 9:06Speaker 1: when you're in a band, you can't be stuck in
- 9:07Speaker 1: the one genre because even like a lot of funk
- 9:10Speaker 1: and jazz stuff as well a lot of classical music
- 9:12Speaker 1: and things like that, so that kind of gets brought
- 9:15Speaker 1: into our musics, even some Flamenco guitar playing and a
- 9:18Speaker 1: lot of that sort of in that in that vein
- 9:21Speaker 1: of Flamenco playing with like the acoustic I level that
- 9:23Speaker 1: classical stuff. And hence why intro is a little bit
- 9:26Speaker 1: like the intro to the album is I try my
- 9:29Speaker 1: best to do like a bit of Flamenco guitars, like
- 9:31Speaker 1: a fast acoustic guitar thing going on, And that's just
- 9:35Speaker 1: what I'm into and what I like. And again for
- 9:37Speaker 1: the four of us, there's a different taste that we're
- 9:40Speaker 1: all into and we sort of bring to the band
- 9:41Speaker 1: just just naturally. And if it works, it works, If
- 9:43Speaker 1: it doesn't, it doesn't.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, awesome.
- 9:46Speaker 3: And can you share a memorable experience you've had during
- 9:49Speaker 3: a previous tour.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Experience? H Oh, that's a good question. I don't think
- 9:57Speaker 1: there's so many. I feel like a memorable experience. Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 1: we we were touring Australia. We're going up into touring
- 10:05Speaker 1: up the East coast and we had like a Toyota
- 10:09Speaker 1: Highest it was the van that we had, and it
- 10:12Speaker 1: was like a twelve seat of van, and we had
- 10:15Speaker 1: this massive trailer attached to it was like a two
- 10:19Speaker 1: ton one ton trailer. I don't know how big it was,
- 10:21Speaker 1: but it was huge. It's bigger than the van. And
- 10:25Speaker 1: this van of ours was really old, and we're like
- 10:29Speaker 1: traveling like really uphill steeps and things like this, and
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, and we traveled like on the road for
- 10:35Speaker 1: like eight or six weeks straight with like no breaks,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and we're playing at this time, we're playing to like
- 10:41Speaker 1: rock a better venue and played on maybe like two
- 10:43Speaker 1: people or ten people if we're lucky, you know, like
- 10:46Speaker 1: even even our tour manager or already at the time
- 10:48Speaker 1: was all we were playing to. You know, like yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 1: So we did that for weeks, and we're living off
- 10:55Speaker 1: fast food and takeaway and you know, things like that,
- 10:59Speaker 1: and like we were so wrecked out. I think our
- 11:03Speaker 1: van broke down maybe three times on this tour. And
- 11:08Speaker 1: on our way back, we're about two hours away or
- 11:10Speaker 1: an hour and a half away from home, and a
- 11:13Speaker 1: van fully broke down. And I think the clutch of
- 11:17Speaker 1: the of the van because it was a manual van.
- 11:19Speaker 1: The clutch broke down, so we're stuck on strand on
- 11:22Speaker 1: the side of the road for like hours until we
- 11:25Speaker 1: had the Finally, because we're in the middle of nowhere,
- 11:29Speaker 1: we had the you know, the car repair or whatever
- 11:31Speaker 1: you call it, the tow truck to come pick us up.
- 11:34Speaker 1: And we had hardly eaten. We were so thin, just
- 11:37Speaker 1: eaten like crap for the whole tour. And I think
- 11:40Speaker 1: our mom at the time had to come pick us up.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Oh no, and she said she saw us and she
- 11:47Speaker 1: was like, you just looked so unwell. And that's a story,
- 11:51Speaker 1: just a lot of breakdowns, and yeah, there's endless stories that,
- 11:54Speaker 1: but off the top of my head, that's the one
- 11:55Speaker 1: I can't remember.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, no, mum having to save the day.
- 11:59Speaker 1: She came and saved day. I have another story, can
- 12:01Speaker 1: I say another story? Yeah, this one just comes to me.
- 12:04Speaker 1: This is probably a bit more funny. Well. Performing at
- 12:07Speaker 1: a at a local pub in Bunbury, Western Australia, and
- 12:12Speaker 1: I was probably like maybe twelve or thirteen at the
- 12:14Speaker 1: time and me and my Brennan, my brother will front
- 12:19Speaker 1: row at the front of the stage. Am I doing
- 12:21Speaker 1: our thing And there's this older woman sort of like
- 12:23Speaker 1: grabbing our legs and trying to grope us and things
- 12:25Speaker 1: like that. She's probably like her sixties or something like that,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and I'm really young at the time. Even Brennan was,
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, and she was very doing a lot of
- 12:33Speaker 1: gestures and things to us. And then she hadn't seen
- 12:38Speaker 1: her for the rest of the night. And then someone
- 12:39Speaker 1: comes up comes up to me at the end of
- 12:41Speaker 1: the show while we're trying to pack up, and she's like, oh,
- 12:43Speaker 1: some woman's here. She says she's your mum and she
- 12:46Speaker 1: really needs to see you, and she's locked herself in
- 12:48Speaker 1: the bathroom. And I was like, my mum was actually
- 12:53Speaker 1: there at the show this night, and I was like, oh,
- 12:54Speaker 1: my mother's here. She's you know, like I don't know
- 12:57Speaker 1: what you're talking about. Yeah, and then she's like, well,
- 12:59Speaker 1: she's claiming you or her son, and she really needs
- 13:01Speaker 1: to see you guys, and she's locked herself in the bathroom,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and I was like okay. And I was like I
- 13:07Speaker 1: had no idea who this woman is. And then this
- 13:10Speaker 1: lady created a big scene. The security guards had to
- 13:13Speaker 1: come drag her out the toilet and she was like
- 13:15Speaker 1: screaming at the top of her lungs, like I need
- 13:17Speaker 1: to see my sons, they're my kids. And she ended
- 13:20Speaker 1: up getting tasered. She got tasered to get out of
- 13:22Speaker 1: the venue because she was so like in belief that
- 13:26Speaker 1: we were her sons. And yeah, so that was that
- 13:31Speaker 1: was a good one.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Oh that was a lucky miss as well. I feel
- 13:35Speaker 3: like that could have gone very south.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Geez.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I know it was pretty intense, but she
- 13:41Speaker 1: was just she was on she was very intoxicated on whatever.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: That was scary for me that song because I was
- 13:47Speaker 1: only young. I don't know who this woman. I've never
- 13:50Speaker 1: seen her in my life.
- 13:51Speaker 2: But that don't make a good like mini movie or
- 13:57Speaker 2: something that's insane, I know, right, Christ have you had
- 14:02Speaker 2: any following that?
- 14:04Speaker 3: Have you had any like weird or cool fan interactions
- 14:07Speaker 3: since then?
- 14:09Speaker 1: Yeah, there's been like a whole bunch of again, like
- 14:11Speaker 1: so many to try and think off the top of
- 14:13Speaker 1: my head. It is hard to remember one time, a young,
- 14:17Speaker 1: a young girl. She was just off the top of
- 14:21Speaker 1: my head. This first one that has come to my
- 14:23Speaker 1: head sause I find it cool. She's she was like
- 14:24Speaker 1: a deaf girl. She was deaf and she'd come to
- 14:27Speaker 1: our shows all the time and she was a huge fan.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And there was one time where she come up to
- 14:34Speaker 1: us and she's holding this little this little some little
- 14:39Speaker 1: machine and we're like, oh, watch this, and she's like,
- 14:40Speaker 1: can you, like you know, Jess, can you sign her?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Her guardian was there like translating, but said like, can
- 14:48Speaker 1: you sign this for me? And we're like, oh she was.
- 14:49Speaker 1: She was like go to her hearing aid and we're
- 14:51Speaker 1: like okay, yeah, so we like to sign it for
- 14:53Speaker 1: her and and then she put it right back on.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Oh that's a cool experience. We've had people buy a
- 15:01Speaker 1: bunch of shit for us, like a lot of a
- 15:03Speaker 1: lot of gifts and things like that, and it's it's crazy.
- 15:07Speaker 1: There's there's there's endless stories. But off the top of
- 15:10Speaker 1: my head, that's what's come to my head.
- 15:12Speaker 2: No, that's beautiful. What a beautiful story.
- 15:14Speaker 1: If you think, yeah, at a moment, I always remember,
- 15:16Speaker 1: it's a beautiful moment. I always remember. And that was
- 15:18Speaker 1: like that was a good ten years ago now, but
- 15:21Speaker 1: it always sticks with me that because it's like, well,
- 15:23Speaker 1: this younger who is maybe like nine or something, was
- 15:25Speaker 1: hands us to a little hearing aid to sign for
- 15:29Speaker 1: it was really cool. It's going to make me cry,
- 15:31Speaker 1: I know, right to touch.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Oh do year? Outside of music, what are some of
- 15:38Speaker 2: your favorite hobbies or activities?
- 15:40Speaker 1: Okay, I do. I like to work out a lot
- 15:46Speaker 1: of stuff, same as my younger brother. He's my younger
- 15:47Speaker 1: brother's actually in the band the Basse play his personal trainer,
- 15:50Speaker 1: so we we exercise a lot and do a lot
- 15:53Speaker 1: of working out, as well as the other boys too
- 15:54Speaker 1: in their own time, but me and him are pretty
- 15:56Speaker 1: heavy on it and do it pretty constantly. So that's
- 15:58Speaker 1: quite a quite a hobby. I guess I'm not here
- 16:01Speaker 1: to try to look like a bodybuild or anything. It's
- 16:03Speaker 1: just to keep it, you know. No, Yeah, that's right. Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 1: So there's a bit of that. But as well, I'm
- 16:10Speaker 1: quite I'm myself. I'm just I'm quite obsessed with the
- 16:13Speaker 1: guitar a little bit and music in general. So I'm
- 16:15Speaker 1: always doing something on guitar or always writing something, or
- 16:19Speaker 1: I've got amps and things like that and different guitars.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm always I'm always on the guitar. That's a big
- 16:24Speaker 1: thing I do. So that's it really is as well
- 16:27Speaker 1: as in the band. It's just a personal hobby of
- 16:28Speaker 1: mine I enjoy doing.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome. And I heard you guys have got
- 16:32Speaker 2: a huge USA two of coming up.
- 16:35Speaker 1: How do you guys do about that? Yeah, we're good,
- 16:38Speaker 1: We're excited for it. I mean, I've looked at the
- 16:40Speaker 1: tour poster recently and I was like, I already feel
- 16:42Speaker 1: tired looking at that. But it is what it is,
- 16:45Speaker 1: and we're we're excited for it. There's there's We've got
- 16:48Speaker 1: the Monsters of Rock Crews coming up next month or
- 16:50Speaker 1: next I think we take off on the seventh of March,
- 16:53Speaker 1: which is like next Thursday, I think anyway, but it's
- 16:57Speaker 1: going to be intense, and but it's each time we
- 17:01Speaker 1: do a tour overseas is always like a great experience.
- 17:03Speaker 1: We have some great stories that come out of it.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So yeah, we're excited for all that. I just recently
- 17:07Speaker 1: purchased a camera for myself, like a nice, a nice
- 17:10Speaker 1: good camera, because I want to document all this stuff,
- 17:12Speaker 1: and so I'm excited for that too, So to see
- 17:15Speaker 1: what sort of stories come out of it.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, that's awesome.
- 17:18Speaker 3: And is there one place in particular that you've always
- 17:21Speaker 3: wanted to play or that you're excited to play.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like we love going to LA all
- 17:29Speaker 1: the time because the vibe there is always great, especially
- 17:31Speaker 1: when we do shows there. People are really into it
- 17:33Speaker 1: and there the followings growing there. It's it's always exciting.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Then there's always good stories that come out of it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But as well, especially this this monster is a rock
- 17:44Speaker 1: cruise thing we got going on. We're super excited for
- 17:48Speaker 1: that because we're playing with like heroes of ours, especially
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm a huge fan of Extreme and Nuno Bettancourt who's
- 17:54Speaker 1: a guitarist and he's like one of my biggest influencers
- 17:56Speaker 1: and idols. And so I'm going to be like stuck
- 17:58Speaker 1: on a vote with those guys for five days, like
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna try bump into them. I don't know what
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm going to do, but you got it. Yeah, we're
- 18:05Speaker 1: super excited for that. But there's not I mean just
- 18:07Speaker 1: those those guys. There's like George Lynch, who's another guitarist
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm heavily into. There's Uh, there's like just endless artists
- 18:15Speaker 1: that are on there that are there were big influences
- 18:18Speaker 1: for us growing up. So we're excited for that.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's wicked, And do you have any pre show
- 18:23Speaker 3: rituals or routines that help get you in the zone.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Hmmm. Yeah, my my little pre show rituals will just
- 18:31Speaker 1: sit there and I just feeling my guitar like going
- 18:34Speaker 1: up and down, up and down the neck like constantly.
- 18:37Speaker 1: That's just for a warm up side of things. Uh.
- 18:42Speaker 1: There is a little bit of a ritual. We haven't
- 18:43Speaker 1: actually spoken of this, but we kind of just naturally
- 18:46Speaker 1: do it before we go on stage. When we're on
- 18:48Speaker 1: stage ready to start, we all have to fist bump
- 18:51Speaker 1: each other nice. And if we don't or if for
- 18:55Speaker 1: me any if we don't, if I don't touch each
- 18:56Speaker 1: of their fists, I feel like something something Yeah, bad luck,
- 19:00Speaker 1: you know. I mean that was like if I don't
- 19:01Speaker 1: perform with this bracelet, Oh, if I don't perform with this,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I feel weird, Like I have to have it.
- 19:07Speaker 2: What can you what's on it?
- 19:11Speaker 1: It's a it's just a regular bracelet. Yeah, so it's
- 19:15Speaker 1: like a chain bracelet. I got to like my eighteenth
- 19:17Speaker 1: birthday or something. I don't know when it was, but
- 19:20Speaker 1: that's just always kept it. And then there's a little
- 19:23Speaker 1: madellion on there that a friend of mine gave to
- 19:25Speaker 1: me that I've added tour that you keep you safe and.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Yeah, shoot, oh that's wicked. When you guys are touring,
- 19:36Speaker 3: do you still like party hard after you guys have
- 19:39Speaker 3: come off a tour or in between, or do you
- 19:41Speaker 3: like to keep it relaxed so you can recharge.
- 19:45Speaker 1: If we've come off a tour or a show, how
- 19:49Speaker 1: about both both for a show Before a show, we
- 19:54Speaker 1: don't like to drink at all or be intoxicating in
- 19:57Speaker 1: any intoxicated in any way, because the show is very
- 20:01Speaker 1: important to us and putting on the shows what we
- 20:04Speaker 1: care about the most, because when we're on stage, just like,
- 20:06Speaker 1: this is what we're here. You know, this is an
- 20:07Speaker 1: important thing and it's very serious to us, and we
- 20:09Speaker 1: like to give a good show and not be intoxicated
- 20:11Speaker 1: while doing so. But after the show, if we're not
- 20:16Speaker 1: packing down a whole bunch of equipment because we have
- 20:18Speaker 1: a pretty we did our album MO it's recently in Melbourne,
- 20:20Speaker 1: and we have the drums that spin, we have you know,
- 20:24Speaker 1: some pyrotechnic stuff and there's a lot that goes into
- 20:27Speaker 1: the show stuff. We have a show like that, there's
- 20:30Speaker 1: a lot to pack down. It takes like a good
- 20:32Speaker 1: hour or so. A good couple of hours to sort
- 20:34Speaker 1: of everything packed up, and then we may have a
- 20:35Speaker 1: long drive home or so for those sort of shows,
- 20:38Speaker 1: we don't really get to party afterwards as much as
- 20:41Speaker 1: we'd probably like to. But you know, we have the
- 20:43Speaker 1: shows where we have minimal equipment and we can kind
- 20:45Speaker 1: of pack up quickly and we're like, all right, let's
- 20:47Speaker 1: head to yeah, the next bar and sort of kick
- 20:49Speaker 1: on afterwards. And but yeah, but on a tour, like yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: we're always it's like that, depending on how the show is.
- 20:56Speaker 1: If we don't have much equipment, if we've got a
- 20:58Speaker 1: quick pack up, yeah we'll kick on and party on
- 20:59Speaker 1: it it afterwards. And yeah. But yeah, once tour is done,
- 21:03Speaker 1: we all go back to our personal personal jobs and
- 21:05Speaker 1: everything like that. So we can't continue on that life
- 21:09Speaker 1: after a tour.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, I can imagine.
- 21:12Speaker 3: And speaking of personal jobs, last question, yeah you just
- 21:15Speaker 3: mentioned it. Do you have a personal another side job aside.
- 21:19Speaker 1: From the band. Yeah, I do. I just work at
- 21:21Speaker 1: a like a JB high fives.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, perfect person for it.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah it's good, it's fitting.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, I lovely Ossie. It's been such a pleasure, pleasure,
- 21:33Speaker 3: pleasure to talk to you today. Thank you so much
- 21:35Speaker 3: for your time and best of luck with the tour.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Thank you very much appreciate it. Thanks for doing
