Transcript
- 0:05Welcome to the Crying in My Cheesecake Podcast, where we stop settling, stop spiraling, and stop living in bodies and lives that feel too small for who God created us to be.
- 0:13I am your host, Dr.
- 0:14Danielle, a naturopathic doctor, root cause detective, straight-talking coach, and the woman who's gonna tell you the truth about your health, your habits, and your spiritual life, even when no one else will.
- 0:24If you're exhausted from starting over, overwhelmed by symptoms no one explains, or you're ready to take radical responsibility for the person you're becoming, you're in the right place.
- 0:33This is where faith meets physiology, where mindset meets metabolism, and where real transformation, the lasting kind, actually happens.
- 0:41Let's get into today's episode.
- 0:44Hi, friend.
- 0:44Welcome back.
- 0:45This is your Tuesday episode of the Crying in My Cheesecake Podcast.
- 0:50I am so grateful to be here and in your ears.
- 0:53If you could give me a five-star review down below, like while you're listening to this, no big deal, just give me a five stars and then leave a review of what you're getting out of these episodes.
- 1:01I would greatly appreciate it.
- 1:03We are really trying to grow the podcast, and in order to do that, you have to play the algorithm game.
- 1:09I swear, I'm, I'm just gonna go off...
- 1:11This is gonna be kind of a A different episode than I've done in a while.
- 1:14Um, but I'm just so tired of the algorithms and all of that, like working so hard to serve everybody and doing so well, um, in my containers, especially like in The Adventures.
- 1:27And I'm just like, I am really trying to meet everyone where they are, and how do I best do that?
- 1:32And so I want to just kind of talk about, um, what is going on in this world over here and what's going on and how you can get involved and get the support you need.
- 1:44Because sometimes I think with the change, or the reason why some people don't get results with their healthcare is that their providers don't change.
- 1:51Don't, don't change as in don't change how they're providing people the care that they need, um, with the current climate and the current culture.
- 2:01Because as culture changes, people's needs stay the same, but they need to be delivered differently.
- 2:06And doesn't this sound like a teacher?
- 2:08Uh, if you are a teacher, you know a teacher, they're probably complaining and talking about this.
- 2:11Like, the students in the classroom now are not the same students that were in the classroom when I was in the classroom as a teacher, let alone when I was there my own- myself as a student.
- 2:20And so we are a different culture, a different type of people right now, and I wanna make sure that you are getting exactly everything you need, um, when you need it.
- 2:32And I, and I really find it interesting that, um, people, people are starting to not settle anymore.
- 2:41They're not settling anymore in the way of just choosing a random dieting program to join and get support.
- 2:47But what they're doing is that they are going to ChatGPT, they're going to Claude, they're going to all these things, and they are asking a non-human for human experience support.
- 3:00And we can't do that.
- 3:01We can't provide, as of right now, and I don't think honestly ever, is there going to be an opportunity where AI can replace us fully as the human experience?
- 3:14Because AI doesn't have a human experience.
- 3:16It was not created in God's image.
- 3:17It, it is not, uh, able to actually support you in the ways that you need.
- 3:21The nuances here, the nuances there.
- 3:24Nuances meaning Um, I have a migraine, and it is, you know, four days before my cycle, and I really got angry at my husband, and he, like, hit back at me because of his trauma and the way that
- 3:35he responds.
- 3:36And, and he thought I was doing this, but really I just needed a big hug.
- 3:39And like, AI is not gonna understand that.
- 3:41AI is not going to understand w- the things that you don't say.
- 3:46AI is going to get better, don't get me wrong, but it is never gonna take that place.
- 3:50So I started out by offering a space on Telegram for people to start connecting, connecting with me, connecting and doing things, um, in a way that you can get your questions answered, get supported, have, like, some next steps
- 4:04pieces.
- 4:05But I realized that even Telegram was so narrow, um, and it was not offering an opportunity for you to grow or you to grow alongside me and my team.
- 4:16And so we are transitioning everyone into Substack.
- 4:21If you are not on Substack and you're like, "What is this?
- 4:24I don't wanna start an whole nother, um, uh, social media platform.
- 4:28I don't wanna get to know this stuff," that is totally fine.
- 4:30You can still subscribe for free and get my letters and my stuff sent to you in your emails, so you can do just that.
- 4:37And I'm gonna have the link down below For you, so you have all of that.
- 4:42But what I'm also doing is on Substack.
- 4:45Substack is a place like where the internet was back in the early 2000s.
- 4:49It was the blogging sphere.
- 4:51It was the sphere where My, uh, MySpace was kind of like exiting, Facebook was kinda coming in, and Facebook was more of a what was I, what was on your mind?
- 4:59Do you remember that?
- 5:00Like, what was on your mind in, on the newsfe- like, where you would put in your status updates.
- 5:04And in there, it was more of like people sharing authentically of what was going on in their lives, and that is what Substack is right now.
- 5:12Substack is capturing the time of old where the internet was a good place.
- 5:17Um, you will see very quickly that there is not a highlight reel any- on there.
- 5:23It is more of a space of where people can actually think through things.
- 5:27It is not, uh...
- 5:28You could actually control your algorithm or your feed by what you follow, and that's all that shows up.
- 5:34Um, you can actually go and look.
- 5:35There are so many categories of places that you could get involved in.
- 5:38But in this space, on Substack, I am able to provide you every Wednesday a letter from the wilderness, is what I call it, Letters From the Wilderness.
- 5:47But what I can do is provide you a, an article and offer you support on something to implement in there, and then we can talk about it in the chat.
- 5:56There is an actual chat there.
- 5:57You can talk about it underneath the, the article, uh, in that, in the comment section, but you can also head to the chat and talk about it, get your questions answered, all of that.
- 6:06And then there was this thing where I'm doing lives every month, right?
- 6:09Like, I'm doing lives every month, but I'm like, "I want to serve my people well, and I want the replay to stay in there."
- 6:15On Telegram, my lives were not even an option to replay and, like, put in the feed.
- 6:20So if you weren't happen to see the notification that I went live, all of that information was gone, and I was so discouraged because I had so many of these.
- 6:29I was just...
- 6:30I was like, "Maybe it's just me.
- 6:31Maybe I missed a button.
- 6:32Maybe I missed all of this," and maybe I have.
- 6:34But it was not intuitive and easy, and I was going live from my laundry room.
- 6:39I was folding laundry, and I was going live on Telegram talking and, and, and sharing with people, and people popped in, but then it was gone, and I couldn't see all of the chats going on while I was
- 6:49live.
- 6:49I couldn't see people commenting and interacting.
- 6:52I don't want it to be a one-sided place.
- 6:54I want it to be a place where, I- like, my whole culture here is that it's a community.
- 6:59It is connection and all of that.
- 7:01And so Telegram was really letting me down.
- 7:03And so I'm like, "Well, what is it that will work?"
- 7:05So I've just been praying over it since honestly probably I think October of last year, like praying over it and like trying to figure it out and I'm like, "Oh, it's Substack."
- 7:15Substack has everything that we need.
- 7:17My podcast episodes are sitting there so you can have conversations about those podcast episodes underneath there so I can see what is hitting home for you as well.
- 7:25I can see that.
- 7:26I can see you commenting under my posts.
- 7:29I can see you in the chat and like having conversations there.
- 7:33I can see all of that and actually be part of the conversation with you rather than just like hemming and hawing and getting things out and like not having an organized place.
- 7:43So that is what Substack is.
- 7:44And guys, that is free.
- 7:46You can literally subscribe to my Substack for free.
- 7:49Uh, all you have to do is go down in the show notes.
- 7:51It's just Dr., D-R, Danielle, D-A-N-I-E-L-L-E .substack.com.
- 7:56Go there and just hit subscribe.
- 7:58Subscribe for free.
- 7:59Uh, Mary, our community...
- 8:01one of our care coordinators and community managers, she will be there welcoming you in.
- 8:04I will pop in there and welc- be welcoming you in.
- 8:07But you have got to get in there and start experiencing the culture and everything that we do here, but there, like where we can actually do it in community together.
- 8:16Because in...
- 8:17I love podcasting.
- 8:18Don't, don't get me wrong.
- 8:19I love talking.
- 8:20I will talk all day long.
- 8:22In fact, one of my coaches, Ashley, Coach Ashley, was in here and we literally sat here and talked for about three hours and, um, we were doing things.
- 8:29We were being very productive and all of that, but then we just kinda like sat and talked.
- 8:33So I can literally talk for hours and be happy and totally fine.
- 8:37So I love s- I love podcasting, and that will not go away anytime soon.
- 8:41Um, I don't even know if I'll ever let it go because I really, really love podcasting.
- 8:46I can come in in my pajamas and...
- 8:49or I can just be sitting in my chair at home and I can just sit there and talk with you and teach you something that's on my heart and on my mind, and that is the space that I'm
- 8:57doing, like bringing the connection piece with you is on Substack.
- 9:02So on Substack, again, we are gonna go live for, uh, for the free subscribers at least once a month.
- 9:07Notice I said at least.
- 9:08At least once a month we are gonna go live on there.
- 9:10And then the replay just sits there, like, so I don't have to go and email you that the replay is there.
- 9:15It's just sitting there.
- 9:16And that's...
- 9:17I don't have to edit the video.
- 9:18I don't have to do anything, and it's so much easier on the back end, but also so much easier for you to interact and get connection with me and with the team, um, on the front end as well.
- 9:27So be sure to get in there.
- 9:30Um, so at least once a month we're gonna go live on the free.
- 9:33We'll also go live on the paid.
- 9:34The paid is $14 a month.
- 9:37And the paid, you ha- already have a ton of articles sitting there.
- 9:41You're also going to get, um, a, a live that is different from the free live.
- 9:46You're gonna get at least one of those a month.
- 9:48And we've already started doing this and having a blast and just really talking and sharing and getting some information for you so that you can start implementing and living this life abundantly on this side of Earth, and all
- 10:01of that.
- 10:01So that is the Substack piece.
- 10:04There are also things called perks in Substack, and perks are different things that you can get.
- 10:09Uh, we will notify you if you are So everyone gets a, the Welcome Home perk.
- 10:14Um, if you're paid, you also, there are some, there is a perk already sitting in there.
- 10:18And that leads me to, um, if you are a paid Substack subscriber, you can get, uh, 20% off the annual fee of Adventures.
- 10:26And that is where my heart and soul lives, is in this, this space of the wilderness.
- 10:32Because my, my thing has always been I am, even in my 20s, I was really concerned about the people inside the church who are saved, but they're not living that way.
- 10:48They don't have fruit that looks like they're saved, and they're just feeling like they're under bondage still.
- 10:53They're choosing to live under bondage, and I'm one of those.
- 10:56I think that's why I had a heart for it, because God wanted me to experience the bondage I was held under.
- 11:02And I'm not saying I'm, I still don't have bondage.
- 11:03Of course I do.
- 11:04I'm still working on things.
- 11:06But as I have worked on things and surrendered, everything in my life looks different.
- 11:12The fruit speaks for itself.
- 11:14And I want people to live life abundantly.
- 11:18So this whole thing of Inside Adventurers is the female version or the women's version of a holistic health membership, and the Wilderness of Wellness as a whole is the premier Christian root cause health community helping women, and soon
- 11:32to be men, steward their health through education and accountability and coaching and functional wellness principles.
- 11:39So when you join Adventurers and you are paid in full, you're gonna get a 30-minute onboarding call.
- 11:44So if you didn't know this, as an Adventurer, you are assigned a coach, you are assigned a care coordinator.
- 11:52You actually have someone that it's not just a free-for-all.
- 11:55You actually have a coach that is assigned to you, and you're gonna fill out an intake form, and then you're gonna have a call.
- 12:01If you pay in full for the year, you're gonna get a 30-minute onboarding call with your coach so that you guys can understand each other and so forth and when to expect conversations and just all of that, but
- 12:11also so that you are aware of exactly where you need to start in my pathway.
- 12:17So the goal of the pathway is it is literally my brain in your pocket.
- 12:21You are going to go into the pathway.
- 12:24You're gonna do the start here modules, like the onboarding modules, get that over with, and get, get acclimated to the, the platform.
- 12:30But then when you go into the foundational root cause pathway, you have a nutrition and lifestyle path.
- 12:35You have a, a roadmap to health path.
- 12:38The nutrition and lifestyle path is great for those people that need to get their nutrition and lifestyle under control and/or you don't...
- 12:44You honestly are like, "I don't know how to even afford supplements right now."
- 12:48Awesome.
- 12:48Let's start with your nutrition and lifestyle and get going through those phases.
- 12:52Get going through that, and your coach is gonna walk alongside you and make sure that you're getting through those, those pa- uh, those modules there and then implementing and helping you with all of that, right?
- 13:03So then if you are someone that is like, "Man, I've got, like, some really bad health problems.
- 13:07I'm ready for some supplements to really...
- 13:09I want Dr.
- 13:10Danielle's methodology of supplementing and making my body do the work itself and all of that," that is what the roadmap for, to health is.
- 13:17That is the foundational groundwork that you have to do, everyone has to do in order for the body to be prepared for targeted supports, and those targeted supports are found in my functional health toolkit.
- 13:28So you literally have the foundations, nutrition and lifestyle, and the supplemental pieces of getting your body to do the work.
- 13:33You can do both the nutrition and lifestyle and the, uh, roadmap to health, or you can do one or the other and then get started in the The Functional Health Toolkit.
- 13:44The Functional Health Toolkit is where you're gonna, like, have, you know, if, if you still have symptoms after you've done both of those things, then you still have symptoms, and you'll have a life- um, a lifestyle, a nutrition,
- 13:55and a supplemental protocol for that based on where you are in your, in your symptomology.
- 14:01And so I have compiled all of that to be there, but that's not just it.
- 14:06You need a live component, live components with real humans.
- 14:10So what you're gonna get is you're gonna get on the first Monday of the month, usually the first Monday of the month, is when I go live on what I call Wellness Workshop.
- 14:17So at 7:30 PM Eastern Time, we go live, and I am teaching on a concept and giving you what you're focused on for the month.
- 14:25So this month, as of this recording, we are focused on our minimums and maximums, our minimums of breakfast and hydration And then our maximums are breakfast and lunch, and then we are focused on, um, hydration with electrolytes and
- 14:38how to use those right, and the right ones for you specifically.
- 14:42And then we're also doing two movements a week.
- 14:45And so this is where you're getting coached on.
- 14:47This is the accountability.
- 14:48If you follow my minimums, you're gonna get progress in the, the, within the month.
- 14:53If you follow my maximums, you're still gonna get progress.
- 14:55It's just gonna look different, right?
- 14:57So in this space, you are being given minimums and maximums.
- 15:00You are getting coaching.
- 15:00You're getting that personalization.
- 15:02You're getting the white glove approach in a group container so that you are making progress as you go on to your foundational health.
- 15:11Now, that's not it.
- 15:12You're also getting pods.
- 15:14Pods are small groups, so small group accountability, building that tight-knit community, because we're real people, and we're real people with real issues and real supports needing to happen.
- 15:24And so that's what pods are, and we help you with that.
- 15:27We help you get set up and connected with those.
- 15:29And those open, um, I think it's every quarter, maybe it's three times a year.
- 15:33Um, I, I forget the dates of everything at the moment off the top of my head.
- 15:37But I'm so excited about that because when we do retreats or when we do summits or things, people already know everybody.
- 15:43So there's no weird, awkward stuff.
- 15:44It's just like, boom, we're already...
- 15:46Now we're just together.
- 15:47We're just gonna intensify our experience together.
- 15:49And then you have workshop one-on-ones that are happening, and workshop one-on-ones are, how do we make this stuff actually work?
- 15:55So maybe, like last month we did meal planning.
- 15:58Some people get so overwhelmed with meal planning, and we talked about this last month, that people are like, "Well, I do great at meal planning, but I don't follow through."
- 16:04So we walked through, why are we not following through on this?
- 16:07What, what is holding us up from following through?
- 16:10What resources and tools do you need to make this happen?
- 16:13Coaching teams, everybody comes in and supports you in making sure that you are being a woman of, of high regard and integrity and getting stuff done.
- 16:23But you notice, like, so far, I haven't said it, but you have to show up for yourself.
- 16:27You have to actually be vulnerable and post on the base camp, which is our feed, and get the support you need.
- 16:33You need to be honest.
- 16:34You need to slow down enough to be honest to do that.
- 16:37And then we have something we call hot seats, but they're basically coaching calls.
- 16:41You're gonna fill out a form.
- 16:42You're gonna tell us exactly what you need, like what's going on with your body, what you need help with, and we have coaches that come in, and we are going to support you basically in a one-to-one type setting.
- 16:52You may not have a question this time.
- 16:54That's cool.
- 16:55Come and listen because that may spark a question in you, and then you can raise your hand and get some support as well.
- 17:01So this is the Wilderness of Wellness.
- 17:05We are meeting with you, making sure that you have exactly what you need, because you know what?
- 17:11One-to-one appointments are always going to be expensive.
- 17:15One-to-one appointments are always going to be expensive because insurance does not cover this kind of healthcare.
- 17:19Most insurances don't cover this kind of healthcare.
- 17:22So you're paying out of pocket, plus you're paying for supplements, plus you're paying for food, plus you're paying for all these other things.
- 17:27In the Wilderness of Wellness, if you lock in your price, that is your price until you stop paying.
- 17:33Until you stop joining us and being part of this, that is your price forever.
- 17:37That is the only thing in this world that is not going to go up in price, and I can control that by offering that to you.
- 17:44If you could have not just all that I mentioned, but workouts and...
- 17:49or workout programming, and you can add in, um, you can add in one-to-one calls if you need it.
- 17:54You can add in blood labs if you need them done and you want a protocol written for you.
- 17:59You can add in, um, I said workouts already, but you can, like, film yourself and ask for form support from me.
- 18:06Awesome.
- 18:07We're gonna do that.
- 18:07We're gonna do that for you.
- 18:08So when I think holistically healthy, I think Wilderness of Wellness.
- 18:13Wilderness of Wellness is the space that we are giving a Christian worldview, and we're also helping you heal in the way that God designed the body to heal.
- 18:23This movement is going to be making healthy leaders in their homes, their churches, and their communities.
- 18:29We are not keyboard warriors.
- 18:31We are out doing and living the life that we're supposed to be living, and that is something that AI can never take the place of.
- 18:39It can't.
- 18:39AI can never take the place of you getting the exact support that you need and showing up and asking for help.
- 18:47Is vulnerability hard?
- 18:48Absolutely, it is, because you've probably experienced places where you have been shunned or you felt like out...
- 18:55like an outcast or that you don't belong.
- 18:57In the Wilderness of Wellness, you belong if you show up.
- 19:00In the Wilderness of Wellness, you belong if you're someone who is ready to stop this generational legacy of these health issues.
- 19:07You belong in the Wilderness of Wellness if you're willing to look different and ready to be set apart, like, because God already set us apart and set free with Jesus.
- 19:15Why...
- 19:16We...
- 19:16It is now time to live it and feel it.
- 19:21It is a place that b- is for you to belong if you are ready to do the work And you're ready to tell on yourself and, for lack of better terms, and, and you're ready to make the changes.
- 19:34Even if your husband isn't, like, into health at all, even if your kids are picky eaters, which that's another thing, if your kids are picky eaters, they've clearly got some mineral deficiencies and issues going on.
- 19:44Even if you are a picky eater, even if you think that you're too old, even if you think that you're too young, you belong in the Wilderness of Wellness.
- 19:53So if you want to learn more about what's going on, get in there.
- 19:57You can get 20% off of your annual membership in the Wilderness of Wellness if you are a paid subscriber in my Substack.
- 20:05If you are like, "You know, Dr.
- 20:07Danielle, I'm cool.

- 20:09I'm not ready for the commitment yet," just subscribe to Substack for free.
