- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi everybody. Hello, Hello, Yeah, yoh, I miss you so
- 0:04Speaker 1: much it hurts sometimes. I know, duds. I see all
- 0:08Speaker 1: these thirsty yet sexy pictures of you on the Instagram,
- 0:12Speaker 1: and Florence and I were joking like feeling himself a
- 0:15Speaker 1: little bit, I'm losing a little bit of weight. Yeah,
- 0:18Speaker 1: I saw some of the thirsty pictures. And I also
- 0:22Speaker 1: just hang it out of my trailer. Just take my
- 0:24Speaker 1: trailer with my new fit, skinny face. Yeah. You know,
- 0:27Speaker 1: the drugs and alcohol are strating to leave my system,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and the first place it shows up is your face.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So automatically you're like, look at this. Who is this
- 0:37Speaker 1: motherfucker right here? Well, you look great. I can't knock
- 0:41Speaker 1: it house. Have you started shooting your the show yet? Yes,
- 0:45Speaker 1: it's a lot of fun. You know. I'm gonna be
- 0:47Speaker 1: honest with you. I am having a great time. Good dove.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Chloe and Yanna are awesome. They're the powerpuff Girls. Yeah. Um,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the director Maggie, she's crushing it blows crushing it. Like,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'm just having a great time working with everyone. Yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 1: And we're trying to deliver a good show, you know,
- 1:09Speaker 1: we're trying to We're really trying hard. To give the
- 1:12Speaker 1: fans something that they're like, you know, whether you like
- 1:17Speaker 1: the idea of Powerpuff being created or you don't, we
- 1:20Speaker 1: want you. You know, we're trying to give you something.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Everybody's working hard at trying to give you something. So
- 1:26Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you're like, it was
- 1:27Speaker 1: actually pretty good. Well, I gotta tell you that there's
- 1:30Speaker 1: quite a pedigree behind it, you know that, Diablo, Cody
- 1:33Speaker 1: and Greg BERLANDI, I mean, these are all these are
- 1:35Speaker 1: all power hitters, So I think it's gonna be amazing.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And I've never even seen anything. Only I know about
- 1:40Speaker 1: Powerpuff Girls is that graphic of the three of them
- 1:42Speaker 1: with their fists up. That's all I know. Yeah, I know,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I know. I've started watching the old show and that
- 1:48Speaker 1: it's funny. You know, the originals show, the original series
- 1:52Speaker 1: is funny, like laugh out loud funny. I didn't. I
- 1:55Speaker 1: didn't realize that. And it kind of has the it
- 1:56Speaker 1: kind of has the animation of like old school hand
- 1:59Speaker 1: up Barbara type. You know, it's like, really, it's really cool. Now,
- 2:04Speaker 1: I will say this, people might not like the way
- 2:07Speaker 1: I played the professor because I'm definitely not talking like that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Talk. It's like, hey, the Powerpuff Girls are
- 2:17Speaker 1: you know what I mean, I'm not doing that stereotype. Dad.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Oh well, I don't think anyone's expecting you to be
- 2:23Speaker 1: a sixties stereotype. Dad. I hope not. Just make it
- 2:27Speaker 1: your own, that's right. Well, you know, but I still
- 2:30Speaker 1: have to hold some of the you know, some of
- 2:32Speaker 1: the characteristics and quirkiness that of course. What I mean.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I think people, I think I think everyone will be
- 2:41Speaker 1: excited to see what you do with it, and I
- 2:43Speaker 1: think there's gonna be so many eyeballs on it. And
- 2:45Speaker 1: it's just I'm just proud of you that you're involved
- 2:47Speaker 1: with something so cool. So man, how stupid bother doesn't
- 2:50Speaker 1: going incredible the same thing. I'm just so happy. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: love everybody. The kids are so cute. Um, I just
- 2:57Speaker 1: love them. They're so they have so many questions and
- 3:00Speaker 1: they're just so you know, every day that goes by,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I watched them bonding with each other more and um,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and we're becoming this family unit. You know. I literally
- 3:10Speaker 1: have to be the dad sometimes because you know, when
- 3:12Speaker 1: all the crew and parents and guardians and babysitters and
- 3:16Speaker 1: all those people clear away, it's just me and Gabby
- 3:18Speaker 1: as the adults, and then like these little twins start
- 3:21Speaker 1: fighting and I have to be like guys, guys, guys,
- 3:22Speaker 1: come on, come on, come on, let's focus. Like I
- 3:28Speaker 1: literally have to be like dad and they look up
- 3:31Speaker 1: to me, you know, as like Uncle Zach basically. But
- 3:33Speaker 1: it's fun, man. I love it. It's too good to
- 3:35Speaker 1: be true. It's the same thing that you're saying, it's
- 3:37Speaker 1: great script. You know, as actors, we sometimes are run
- 3:40Speaker 1: things we don't love. It's it's it's a good opportunity
- 3:44Speaker 1: or I'm doing it for X Y or z E reasons.
- 3:45Speaker 1: This is one of those things where I love it,
- 3:47Speaker 1: like I'm having every day I come home smiling. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I know the feeling, man, And it's you know I have.
- 3:53Speaker 1: There's a young lady on the show. This is her
- 3:55Speaker 1: first time ever in front of the camera. Names Jana right.
- 3:57Speaker 1: She plays Buttercup. First time ever on camera. She did
- 4:02Speaker 1: a lot of broad She did a couple of some
- 4:03Speaker 1: things on Broadway. She was in Jagged Little Pill with
- 4:07Speaker 1: when Diablo, did that with Atlantis Morrisette, and then she
- 4:10Speaker 1: got the tour. She got the tour for Hamilton and
- 4:14Speaker 1: right when it was about to go off COVID happened
- 4:17Speaker 1: right o. Man. So she's you know, she's like brand new, fresh,
- 4:21Speaker 1: banking new to the television film industry. And it's so
- 4:27Speaker 1: refreshing to see because I remember when I was like
- 4:29Speaker 1: that and just like her innocence and the question she
- 4:32Speaker 1: asks and like it's like so amazing, and and I
- 4:36Speaker 1: keep telling her, please don't ever lose this energy. Always
- 4:39Speaker 1: stay on this energy. But you know, in time, you know,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Hollywood will get to you. Yeah, that's another it's a
- 4:46Speaker 1: very it's funny, it's very analogous situation. I'm in too
- 4:48Speaker 1: down because a lot of these kids, you know, these
- 4:50Speaker 1: some of these kids are really little. And even even
- 4:52Speaker 1: the young lady who's playing my sixteen year old daughter
- 4:54Speaker 1: is I believe she's eighteen or nineteen just started NYU
- 4:59Speaker 1: and the all so wide eyed in the it's but
- 5:02Speaker 1: I love like explaining things, and you know, they have
- 5:05Speaker 1: the little kids have tons of questions. What's that? You know,
- 5:07Speaker 1: whether it's crew gadgets, like what's that for? What's that?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Or they yell some jargon on the set and the
- 5:12Speaker 1: kids are like what does that mean? And I love
- 5:13Speaker 1: being like the elder states been like, well, kids let
- 5:15Speaker 1: me tell you what that means. And so that's fun.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And I thought of you Donald, because without spoiling anything
- 5:22Speaker 1: for anyway, there's a moment where a character one of
- 5:26Speaker 1: my kids has to hit a three point shot in
- 5:28Speaker 1: front of a whole gym of people. And I was
- 5:31Speaker 1: thinking of the Scrubs episode where you where were doing
- 5:33Speaker 1: that one or you had to hit that shot. And
- 5:35Speaker 1: this this young lady is so talented and she's an athlete,
- 5:39Speaker 1: but wasn't a great blastgot player, and she's been training
- 5:42Speaker 1: and training and training and training and training, and there
- 5:45Speaker 1: we were in the stands and she's supposed to like
- 5:47Speaker 1: hit like this all important three and she keeps missing
- 5:51Speaker 1: it and keeps missing it. I'm like, under pressure, I'm
- 5:53Speaker 1: like biting my fingers for like like her dad, like
- 5:56Speaker 1: as though I'm her dad. I started biting my and
- 5:59Speaker 1: and everyone, you know, because we know they can edit
- 6:01Speaker 1: it together. Even when the three doesn't go in, we
- 6:03Speaker 1: all cheer because you know, well they'll just they'll edit
- 6:06Speaker 1: it so it looked and we're thinking, like how many
- 6:08Speaker 1: times are they gonna give her to like do this.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They ideally want it to be real without cutting to
- 6:13Speaker 1: them rim you know, she misses. I don't know, but
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're all fake cheering even when it doesn't go in.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And then in my mind, I'm thinking, like, Okay, if
- 6:20Speaker 1: I was directing, i'd probably give her three more try.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I don't know, I try to think, and I'm just
- 6:27Speaker 1: sitting there, and then she fucking hits it, and I
- 6:29Speaker 1: swear to God as though I was her father. I
- 6:32Speaker 1: leapt to my feet and I was so elated. And
- 6:35Speaker 1: then she and in the scene, she looks at me
- 6:37Speaker 1: and she points, so I was just like I could
- 6:39Speaker 1: have cried. I was so proud of dude. That's so awesome, man, Yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's really it's really great. It's really awesome to to
- 6:50Speaker 1: to live through other people's learning experiences, and like I
- 6:55Speaker 1: do it with my children all the time. But you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: my kids aren't actors, and you know I I wouldn't
- 7:00Speaker 1: necessarily put them into game. So when I'm meet somebody
- 7:03Speaker 1: who's in the same profession as me and I and
- 7:06Speaker 1: I'm watching them literally grow as they're working, it's it's
- 7:12Speaker 1: just so it's it's endearing, it's it's overwhelming, Like I
- 7:15Speaker 1: feel you, like you want to cry. I love it, man,
- 7:18Speaker 1: how are you guys? Doing man, you know, why is
- 7:21Speaker 1: your camera off? We want to see your beautiful hair. Sorry,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to um text our guests and let them
- 7:27Speaker 1: know that we will be with them in a moment. Okay, Well,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I really like your new hairstyle, and I want to
- 7:31Speaker 1: segue from your new hairstyle into well, so we count
- 7:35Speaker 1: in Donald what we have an exciting show today. First
- 7:38Speaker 1: of all, this is a very funny episode. I want
- 7:40Speaker 1: to explain to people that why we're jumping around a
- 7:42Speaker 1: little bit, it's because we you know, again, you have
- 7:45Speaker 1: to bear with us as the four of us figure
- 7:47Speaker 1: out how to bring you the show every week. It's
- 7:50Speaker 1: it's a little tricky with our schedules, but we're doing
- 7:52Speaker 1: it and we love doing it. We booked Chase Serrano,
- 7:55Speaker 1: who everybody loves, who's like a Scrubs expert and a
- 7:58Speaker 1: brilliant writer for My Life and four Cameras because that's
- 8:01Speaker 1: the one he wanted to do. And as we all know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: that's a special episode where we spoof the sitcom M
- 8:07Speaker 1: Shay wasn't available this Sunday, so we're gonna do Shay
- 8:11Speaker 1: next Sunday, right, Joel, Yes, that's correct, And so we
- 8:14Speaker 1: jumped ahead to four eighteen My Roommates, which is a
- 8:18Speaker 1: very funny episode that we're talking about today, Rolling, Rolling,
- 8:22Speaker 1: And as we had promised and on people have asked,
- 8:25Speaker 1: we brought on three of our stand ins from the
- 8:29Speaker 1: show and we'll explain again and remind you what stand
- 8:31Speaker 1: ins mean and are in a moment. But I'm very
- 8:34Speaker 1: excited for this episode, and also we're going to do
- 8:36Speaker 1: an update on Joelle and her date that she met
- 8:39Speaker 1: during the live show. Thanks to all the people who attended.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And Joelle, your hair looks very cute. I very guys.
- 8:49Speaker 1: How long did that take? Did you do that? You
- 8:51Speaker 1: didn't do that yourself? Yeah, oh, I see it's just
- 8:54Speaker 1: the front. I thought it was the whole thing. No, no,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I haven't had I think. Oh that's very cute. That's
- 8:58Speaker 1: a good look for just twist. Thank you and Daniel,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I see the DJ turntables are set up. Have you
- 9:03Speaker 1: been practicing? DJs call it practicing? Yeah, no, that's that's
- 9:08Speaker 1: the right word. I'm doing a DJ stream tonight for
- 9:10Speaker 1: the first time in a long time, so I had
- 9:12Speaker 1: think a nice Daniel gonna bury the lead? Come on, well,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the timing will be off, will people be able to
- 9:19Speaker 1: watch it on Tuesday or no. Sure, Yeah, the let's
- 9:22Speaker 1: call the video on demand. If they go to my
- 9:23Speaker 1: Twitch channel, they can watch it. After We'll remind people
- 9:25Speaker 1: how to watch you do your thing. You can go
- 9:27Speaker 1: to twitch dot tv, slash dj Underscore, Daniel dam That's
- 9:31Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. That's that's what I'm talking about,
- 9:33Speaker 1: all right, Donald counts into America's Favorite podcast. Before I
- 9:37Speaker 1: do that, that was like a real That's what I'm
- 9:39Speaker 1: talking That was like a drunk drunk That's what I'm
- 9:42Speaker 1: talking about. Before, Like I think I was drunk when
- 9:44Speaker 1: I did that. I don't know. Just talk about you
- 9:51Speaker 1: were definitely stone when you said this, who tank forever ever, ever,
- 9:56Speaker 1: ever ever? I still mean it now. It's a sober
- 10:00Speaker 1: living going buddy. Before we count. I am on the fifteenth,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'll be two months no alcohol. You didn't even drink
- 10:07Speaker 1: on your birthday. Hey, no, sir. I had a couple
- 10:10Speaker 1: of friends over and they were all enjoying frozen margarita's
- 10:13Speaker 1: and I watched them enjoy them. I'm supposed to I
- 10:16Speaker 1: haven't drank in two weeks, and I'm supposed to go
- 10:20Speaker 1: out and get wined tonight with the head and makeup
- 10:25Speaker 1: artist on our show, and I'm dreading it because I
- 10:30Speaker 1: really don't want to drink, but I want to hang
- 10:32Speaker 1: out with the dude. You know. That's the problem. By
- 10:34Speaker 1: the way, this is a problem for the I'm sure
- 10:36Speaker 1: there's people listening going. I would try, you know, taking
- 10:39Speaker 1: an alcohol break, but going out for being socialist, and
- 10:42Speaker 1: that is tricky, and I recommend. What I do is
- 10:45Speaker 1: I get something that's a little bit special, like a
- 10:48Speaker 1: ginger beer, which I really happen to like, oh um,
- 10:51Speaker 1: because it takes really good to me. It's like, say,
- 10:53Speaker 1: kind of the equivalent of getting when I say I
- 10:55Speaker 1: have a GTS kambucca, although the rest of the bar probably,
- 10:58Speaker 1: but you can get a ginger beer or something else
- 11:01Speaker 1: that you find that you don't normally get that doesn't
- 11:03Speaker 1: have booze in it. But dude, I'm telling you, once
- 11:05Speaker 1: you get past the initial like, oh, everyone's having a
- 11:08Speaker 1: drink and I wish had to drink, I'm so stoked.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Like when I make it to the parking lot and
- 11:11Speaker 1: I and I actually made it through dinner and didn't
- 11:13Speaker 1: have a drink, I'm like, yes, because the only part
- 11:15Speaker 1: you care about is like the sort of socializing. We've
- 11:18Speaker 1: just we're so used to it. We've been doing it
- 11:20Speaker 1: since we were freaking teenagers most of them. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I was doing it when I was. I drank more
- 11:25Speaker 1: in high school than I ever did the rest of
- 11:27Speaker 1: my life. But um, you know, so we were just
- 11:30Speaker 1: we're just conditioned to it, and it is awkward. You
- 11:32Speaker 1: know that. That's the only time that I miss having
- 11:35Speaker 1: a drink is when your body we have this like
- 11:38Speaker 1: Pavlovian response like time to socialize drink, which is weird,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and we're just we're just used to it. So but
- 11:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you, once you make if you successfully make
- 11:47Speaker 1: it past that stage and just had a non alcoholic drink, um,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you feel super stoked right on, right on. Yeah, So
- 11:55Speaker 1: no weed, no booze. Two weeks, I'm good. I'm loving it,
- 12:00Speaker 1: like the way my face is set up. You know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: as my therapist says, um, nothing beats a streak, no nothing.
- 12:07Speaker 1: So it's like a streak can be beaten. But you
- 12:10Speaker 1: know what he was saying was that if you whatever
- 12:12Speaker 1: you're trying to do, whether it's meditate every day or
- 12:15Speaker 1: do some exercise every day, or take a booze break,
- 12:19Speaker 1: it's um. He said, there's so much power in a
- 12:21Speaker 1: streak because you don't want to lose your streak. You
- 12:23Speaker 1: don't want to suck up your streak. Right. Something I
- 12:25Speaker 1: always did, I think I mentioned this on the podcast
- 12:27Speaker 1: is um is just print out a paper calendar. You
- 12:30Speaker 1: can find a free one on the web, and then
- 12:33Speaker 1: I would just give myself a smiley face on the
- 12:36Speaker 1: day every time I was doing something I wanted to
- 12:39Speaker 1: to to do every day, whether it was meditate or
- 12:41Speaker 1: take an alcohol break. And then even just looking at
- 12:44Speaker 1: the calendar like, I'm not gonna fuck up my streak
- 12:46Speaker 1: by putting a fucking X on the day I want
- 12:48Speaker 1: my smiley face. It's really It's crazy though. Man, Once
- 12:52Speaker 1: you freaking decide to do this out of the blue,
- 12:57Speaker 1: everybody in a mama want to smoke with you or
- 12:59Speaker 1: every name mama. Do you know how many you know
- 13:02Speaker 1: what my cast gifts were, like the gifts that they
- 13:05Speaker 1: gave me, like this, let's see it. What am I
- 13:09Speaker 1: gonna do with this? Dude? What are you doing? Gift it?
- 13:14Speaker 1: That's the only way too do Listen. I have this
- 13:16Speaker 1: assistant on the movie and she brought in this beautiful
- 13:19Speaker 1: bottle of wine from the producers. Um, I'm sure it
- 13:22Speaker 1: was expensive because it was my birthday present. And she's like, oh,
- 13:25Speaker 1: just reminding you that you got that bottle of wine
- 13:28Speaker 1: from the producers And I said, oh, thank you so much.
- 13:30Speaker 1: She was where do you want to put it? I said,
- 13:31Speaker 1: in your bag. It's for you, right And she was like,
- 13:33Speaker 1: really this is like expensive. I was like, I know
- 13:36Speaker 1: I'm not drinking right now. That's all. You have a
- 13:38Speaker 1: good weekend. She was like, oh god, that's awesome. All right.
- 13:45Speaker 1: So here we go, y'all five six, seven day stories
- 13:49Speaker 1: about so we made nurses stories. All right, Now we
- 14:11Speaker 1: got to start off Joel. First of all, Um, has
- 14:15Speaker 1: there been any updates? Has the has the date? So
- 14:19Speaker 1: to remind people who weren't at the live show, we
- 14:21Speaker 1: did a dating game and all of the attendees of
- 14:24Speaker 1: the in the audience voted. We had a live poll
- 14:29Speaker 1: which person Joel should take on a zoom date. We
- 14:32Speaker 1: we all voted on it amongst ourselves and then of
- 14:35Speaker 1: course we left it to Joel and did you have
- 14:38Speaker 1: the date yet? Yeah? We did. We it was actually
- 14:41Speaker 1: this morning right before you answer, Before you answer, Daniel,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I think we should play the theme song for Joel's
- 14:47Speaker 1: dating segments. It's the most fire song ever. Here we go,
- 14:52Speaker 1: get the word out, Joel, no matter what's between your
- 15:03Speaker 1: next tomorrow and you get them get down. Oh yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 1: Joe down. Wow. That is I think that's what they
- 15:17Speaker 1: call a bop Daniel in DJ and DJ Lingo. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: believe you're correct on that one. Okay, I love the lyrics.
- 15:22Speaker 1: The lyrics are the best. All right, Chu, well go ahead.
- 15:24Speaker 1: How did it go? Um? It went really well. It
- 15:27Speaker 1: was fun. We were talked about it before and I
- 15:29Speaker 1: was like, oh, fienteen minutes shortly, let's see you half
- 15:32Speaker 1: an hour. And by the end of it we've been
- 15:34Speaker 1: talking for two hours. We're gonna watch a movie and
- 15:36Speaker 1: never got to that. Um. Oh, it was fun. We
- 15:39Speaker 1: like exchanged a lot of like television and manga X
- 15:43Speaker 1: so we're gonna wait television and what manga conga It's like, yes,
- 15:51Speaker 1: it's yeah, that's exactly what it is. Mm hmmm um.
- 15:55Speaker 1: And so she reads a ton of that and so
- 15:56Speaker 1: I was like, okay, so I'm gonna find the books
- 15:59Speaker 1: and read then watch the shows. And it was fun
- 16:02Speaker 1: and we'll text about them and then I think in
- 16:04Speaker 1: a week or so, we're gonna try to watch A
- 16:06Speaker 1: Knight's Tale. She hasn't seen it since like middle school,
- 16:08Speaker 1: and it's one of my favorite movies. Oh my gosh, wow,
- 16:11Speaker 1: A Night's Tale. I don't know A Knight's Tale. Yeah,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you do with Ledger, I never saw it. Oh, it's
- 16:17Speaker 1: so good, Alan Tutteck, Heath Ledger, the dude who plays vision,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Paul Bettany, Paul Bettney, and the Donny yells them as
- 16:24Speaker 1: their Marvel character who plays vision and puts the young
- 16:27Speaker 1: lady's name. And she was so hot I can't remember.
- 16:29Speaker 1: She's so good. Yeah she was. She was on fire
- 16:33Speaker 1: for a minute. And then she's in a bunch of
- 16:36Speaker 1: indies now, Shannon, Oh yeah, she was fuego for a sec. Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I mean in her career. In her career, she's a knockout.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Um wow, Jewel, that's really good. I think that might be.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I think that may be why you seem to be
- 16:51Speaker 1: smiling ear to ear even though you're sitting there. I
- 16:56Speaker 1: also had a very good naps. It's been all around.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Joel Mooney, get down down. Oh yeah, Daniel, maybe you
- 17:06Speaker 1: should work that song into your into your set tonight,
- 17:10Speaker 1: you know what? And for netwscribs. Fans that are watching,
- 17:12Speaker 1: they might enjoy that. Yeah, they'd be like, oh shit,
- 17:15Speaker 1: deep cut. I'm happy for you, Joel. Will you promise
- 17:19Speaker 1: to keep us updated? Yeah, so I'll keep you update.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's nice to have, you know, when you're single and
- 17:25Speaker 1: it's been a pandemic, it's nice to have a little
- 17:27Speaker 1: someone to flirt and chat with. I bet, yeah, was
- 17:31Speaker 1: there flirting flirting? It was an actual date. Ye. Now
- 17:41Speaker 1: make sure that you make sure that you at least
- 17:43Speaker 1: have a hangout once per week so we can you know,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I'm serious. Weekly a lot of pressure on relationship Starkay. Well,
- 17:52Speaker 1: if it doesn't feel natural, don't do that. But I
- 17:55Speaker 1: would be great for the fans, for our listeners to
- 17:58Speaker 1: get a weekly update. I'm sure everyone is very invested
- 18:00Speaker 1: in your love life as much as I am. Joel,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm sure too. I have to. I'll talk to Sam
- 18:07Speaker 1: about how much you know. Tell Sam for the good
- 18:10Speaker 1: of it, Tell Sam for the good of the show.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You guys need to schedule a weekly date. Put the
- 18:16Speaker 1: pressure onto it. Okay, Um, all right, let's bring it.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Shall we bring in our standings, bringing our guests? Yes, yes,
- 18:25Speaker 1: so excited for it. Alex. We will explain to you
- 18:28Speaker 1: who these lovely people are again, I promise, because you
- 18:30Speaker 1: might be confused. But two of them in like since
- 18:33Speaker 1: we wrapped. I haven't either. I'm very excited about its
- 18:36Speaker 1: spring them all in here are Deonte, Scott and Renee
- 18:48Speaker 1: Picture bro. Oh my god, it's so surreal. You got it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I feel like I could cry. Why has Renee noted
- 19:08Speaker 1: one day? No? Come on, yesh my god, let me
- 19:16Speaker 1: look old as but a one day No. I'm just
- 19:23Speaker 1: I'm just it's amazing a kid. I have a four
- 19:25Speaker 1: year old, So you do, Scott? Yes, I do old
- 19:39Speaker 1: I got three cats. All right, let's just let's get
- 19:45Speaker 1: the audience caught up a bit. You guys, and Deante,
- 19:48Speaker 1: thanks for coming out of the helicopter to come join
- 19:50Speaker 1: us on the podcasting. That joke is related to his
- 19:55Speaker 1: giant headset. Everyone that you can't see, um, that's you guys.
- 19:59Speaker 1: That's Joel and Dale are our producer and an editor engineer.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Audience guys, I'm going to describe to people because a
- 20:07Speaker 1: lot of people who listen to this don't know anything
- 20:09Speaker 1: about film production, what a stand in is. And then
- 20:11Speaker 1: I want you guys to clarify or change anything I say.
- 20:15Speaker 1: But we were very very close to these three people
- 20:18Speaker 1: because Scott, Deontay and Renee where me, Donald and Sarah's
- 20:23Speaker 1: stand ins. What that means is when you're making a
- 20:25Speaker 1: film or a TV show, we go and re rehearse,
- 20:28Speaker 1: and then the cinematographer and the camera crew and everybody
- 20:31Speaker 1: needs to needs people to light while we go do
- 20:34Speaker 1: hair and makeup and change our costumes in Donald's case,
- 20:37Speaker 1: play video games. Um, they need to rehearse the camera moves,
- 20:41Speaker 1: they need to set the lighting, they need to you know,
- 20:43Speaker 1: do they need They need people that are exact height,
- 20:45Speaker 1: our skin tone and ideally have the same hair color
- 20:48Speaker 1: so they can adjust all the lighting and when. And
- 20:52Speaker 1: so that was these guys. Scott was my stand in,
- 20:55Speaker 1: Deontay was Donald's, and Renee was Sarah's. And we spent
- 20:59Speaker 1: so many years being very close with these three people
- 21:03Speaker 1: and have about ten million inside jokes because we just were.
- 21:07Speaker 1: We spent the whole day with them. Um, guys, what
- 21:10Speaker 1: did I get wrong? Why did I get right? Chime in, Well,
- 21:13Speaker 1: we basically stood on tape, That's what we did. Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: So when the you know, when the DP and when
- 21:22Speaker 1: Zach you know, you guys are doing what you do
- 21:25Speaker 1: or setting up. You know, you could be out with
- 21:27Speaker 1: another camera crew. We had we were splintered so much
- 21:30Speaker 1: into different crews um to sort of multitask, and so
- 21:33Speaker 1: you don't have to stand there and get exhausted for
- 21:35Speaker 1: an hour under hot lights. We would stand there and
- 21:39Speaker 1: you know, just do forget. Don't forget Scott all the voice. Yes,
- 21:45Speaker 1: don't forget that. That's right. I'm sorry, Scott. I already
- 21:49Speaker 1: I already have minimized what you did. Scott, not only
- 21:54Speaker 1: not I not. I'm just saying this, you're a good actor,
- 21:56Speaker 1: which really helped, because you know, the voiceovers were such
- 21:59Speaker 1: a character in Scrubs, and we had to time out
- 22:02Speaker 1: what the timing would be, like that whole voiceover is
- 22:04Speaker 1: going to be here during the scene, so Scott I
- 22:06Speaker 1: would read them the first rehearsal, just so Scott could
- 22:08Speaker 1: see like the rough idea of how I was going
- 22:10Speaker 1: to do it, and then he would read it in
- 22:13Speaker 1: the scene. So Scott was kind of in almost every
- 22:16Speaker 1: scene we did. Yeah, I mean I became good at
- 22:20Speaker 1: mimicking your style. I guess your time. I always appreciated Scott,
- 22:24Speaker 1: how you didn't you know, you would act it great,
- 22:27Speaker 1: but you wouldn't like try and like like upstage to
- 22:30Speaker 1: me and do the moment like you know, a different
- 22:32Speaker 1: kind of action would be like, well I heard how
- 22:34Speaker 1: Zach's gonna do it, but I have a different take
- 22:36Speaker 1: on it. That would be the times when I would
- 22:39Speaker 1: read it for Scott was missing. You remember those times,
- 22:41Speaker 1: Zach whatever, and I would read it and you'd be like,
- 22:45Speaker 1: nobody bring it down like ten notches okay, trying to
- 22:51Speaker 1: be on the camera like Deonte, probably out of all
- 22:54Speaker 1: of the standings, was in the show the most, right, Yes,
- 22:57Speaker 1: like yeah everyone by far. Yeah, now, but you all
- 22:59Speaker 1: had lines, Renee, do you remember what you're what you're
- 23:01Speaker 1: a line? We just saw your line. I think you're
- 23:03Speaker 1: a bartender? Yes, I will. I remember the first Well.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I was always whole camera shy. In fact, I didn't
- 23:09Speaker 1: really want to do a lot of that stuff because
- 23:11Speaker 1: I was like a stage performer and a dancer, and
- 23:14Speaker 1: so for me, it was like, oh my gosh, I
- 23:17Speaker 1: can see all the people and I'm performing in front
- 23:20Speaker 1: of the whole crew, all these people I knew. Yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 1: And of course as soon as I come down from
- 23:25Speaker 1: the the dressing room, and be like, Oh, you're gonna
- 23:29Speaker 1: screw up, you're sous. It was, Oh my gosh, I'm
- 23:35Speaker 1: gonna screw up. But um yeah. I remember my first line.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I think it was in Bill. Bill Lawrence was directing.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I was a bartender, and my line was it's an
- 23:44Speaker 1: open bar. Yeah. We just saw this one. It was
- 23:47Speaker 1: it was I think it was to Kelso right Donald, Yes, Ken,
- 23:51Speaker 1: because he I mean I was so comfortable with Ken.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I loved Ken. And I remember Bill. He often came
- 23:56Speaker 1: to set and he would kind of change a line
- 23:59Speaker 1: and he changed mine, and I remember thinking, no, I
- 24:01Speaker 1: don't know, I know what to say, don't change it.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I've been working on it's an open bar for two Yeah. Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 1: I know what I'm gonna say. I'm nervous anyway, Oh
- 24:11Speaker 1: my god. And he goes, add cutie, add cutie, and
- 24:14Speaker 1: I said, okay, it's an open bar, cutie. He goes,
- 24:17Speaker 1: that's it. Put that as a show. I had the
- 24:21Speaker 1: Bill line change thing. That's so much, so much a
- 24:25Speaker 1: part of the Scrubs culture. Right, you're gone and changing,
- 24:30Speaker 1: you know. I remember, I remember we were always rooting
- 24:32Speaker 1: for you guys to get lines, because you know, it
- 24:34Speaker 1: goes without saying they would get a much juicier check
- 24:38Speaker 1: if they had a line, So we were always I
- 24:40Speaker 1: was always happy when you know they would throw you guys.
- 24:43Speaker 1: You know something to say, now, Dianta, you did seem
- 24:45Speaker 1: to be the most aggressive at work in it, because
- 24:48Speaker 1: as we rewatched the series, you're on it a lot,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and you're not only not only did you not only
- 24:54Speaker 1: did you do stand in work, but you sometimes did
- 24:56Speaker 1: background work, and you will always mark the orderly or
- 25:00Speaker 1: whatever the characters. Man, I gotta say, you know, Bill,
- 25:06Speaker 1: Bill was like super nice and generous, and I went
- 25:10Speaker 1: up and asked him towards the end of the first season,
- 25:12Speaker 1: just hey, if something seems like it might fit me,
- 25:15Speaker 1: is is it cool if I my auditioned for it?
- 25:18Speaker 1: And he was so generous, He's like I got him.
- 25:20Speaker 1: And then maybe a couple of weeks later I looked
- 25:22Speaker 1: at the script and he's like, got that's for you. Yeah. Also,
- 25:28Speaker 1: I also remember being terrified during that line because it's
- 25:32Speaker 1: with you and Johnny C. And I was terrified of
- 25:34Speaker 1: Johnny C at this point. Yeah. Right and uh, and
- 25:39Speaker 1: right before we're doing the scene, we're you know, they've
- 25:41Speaker 1: already clapped the slate and they're just about to call
- 25:44Speaker 1: action and Johnny c yells to me from across the room,
- 25:48Speaker 1: heyde you know what you do with them? You have
- 25:50Speaker 1: the ball on the one yard line right and I
- 25:52Speaker 1: yelled back, I go score. He goes no, no fucking fumble.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And do you remember what you do? You remember what
- 26:04Speaker 1: your first line was? Uh? Yeah it was. It was
- 26:07Speaker 1: two words. I think you called me by the wrong name,
- 26:10Speaker 1: and I was just kind of giving j D. I
- 26:12Speaker 1: think I said. I think I said, hey, Burt, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: because he called me that by the wrong name because
- 26:16Speaker 1: my name was Bert. I remember you met a very
- 26:19Speaker 1: critical line. When I think it's later, we haven't gotten
- 26:22Speaker 1: to it. When the janitor finally says his name Glenn Matthews,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and then I think Deontay walks up and he's like,
- 26:28Speaker 1: hey something whatever is a different name, and like the
- 26:31Speaker 1: audience finally thought they got it. It It was Glenn Matthews.
- 26:33Speaker 1: And then Deanty walks up. They're like, hey Timmy or whatever,
- 26:38Speaker 1: what about you, Scott? Do you remember Europe your first line?
- 26:41Speaker 1: I don't really remember the line. I remember that our
- 26:45Speaker 1: A D. Franklin called the scene got that, yeah, got
- 26:50Speaker 1: they got put the scene got pushed, but he was like, oh,
- 26:54Speaker 1: we're putting you your character in a cast. So I
- 26:56Speaker 1: had a full leg cast and um this sort of
- 27:00Speaker 1: like brace that went to my groin and that was
- 27:03Speaker 1: that was going to take hours. But Franklin is like, oh, no,
- 27:05Speaker 1: your scene is pushed. So I went, I don't know,
- 27:08Speaker 1: got coffee. I went and chilled, and then I got
- 27:11Speaker 1: back into my car and I had like twenty voicemails
- 27:14Speaker 1: and Franklin's like, the scene moved up the sea move op. Okay, hey,
- 27:16Speaker 1: we need to put that Can I swear? Yeah, we
- 27:19Speaker 1: need to put that fucking cast on. He was like
- 27:22Speaker 1: screaming at me on the phone, get to the hospital now,
- 27:25Speaker 1: and like, frantically get in. I don't I forgot who
- 27:28Speaker 1: did it, but they're wrapping my leg frantically in this cast.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out the scene, like I had
- 27:33Speaker 1: to wheel a wheelchair at the same time and spin
- 27:36Speaker 1: and it was a steadicam shot, so I had to
- 27:39Speaker 1: pass the camera going facing Kelso and then spin around
- 27:43Speaker 1: and talk to him with this cast on in a panic,
- 27:47Speaker 1: half wrapped cast, and it was like, I think it
- 27:50Speaker 1: was just like hey, Bob, like I said, hey, Bob,
- 27:52Speaker 1: or like said what's up Bob or something to him
- 27:55Speaker 1: and he made fun of me because I had a
- 27:56Speaker 1: cast on or something. But it was that sort of
- 27:58Speaker 1: thing where it was like you never knew what was
- 28:01Speaker 1: gonna Well, I'm always so excited when I see you guys. Um.
- 28:05Speaker 1: First of all, I don't think Donald just said as
- 28:06Speaker 1: you were coming on. I don't think that i've seen
- 28:10Speaker 1: you guys. Maybe you've seen you Deonta. I don't think
- 28:13Speaker 1: i've seen Renee and Scott since we wrapped No and yeah,
- 28:18Speaker 1: we should say Renee and Scott both left early. Renee,
- 28:22Speaker 1: what season did you leave? I can't remember. I know
- 28:25Speaker 1: it's been almost fifteen years because I left because I
- 28:29Speaker 1: got married, moved to Texas and so, and it's this
- 28:34Speaker 1: is about fifteen years now that I've been married. So
- 28:37Speaker 1: it was fifteen years ago and I don't know. That
- 28:39Speaker 1: must have been season I'm guessing seven. Yeah. And then
- 28:45Speaker 1: and then Shelina came on and we called her new Renee.
- 28:50Speaker 1: No no, no, I can't replace Renee. No no, no,
- 28:54Speaker 1: no one, no one could be replace you. But we
- 28:56Speaker 1: wanted to make her feel guilty that she like we.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I think we were like trying to convince her she
- 29:00Speaker 1: took a job away from our friend Renee, So like, listen,
- 29:02Speaker 1: we're just gonna call you new. Meanwhile, you'd left because
- 29:07Speaker 1: you got married and moved away. Um, and then Scott,
- 29:10Speaker 1: what season did you leave? I think it was around
- 29:12Speaker 1: the same time. Um, I didn't. I wasn't involved with
- 29:15Speaker 1: any of the newer characters like to you know when
- 29:17Speaker 1: it when you guys started the new That wasn't until nine?
- 29:21Speaker 1: Was that nine? Okay? Yeah, I'm sorry, Yeah, it was
- 29:24Speaker 1: a while ago. Um. Yeah, I wasn't involved with that,
- 29:26Speaker 1: so probably like seven or eight as well. But you
- 29:28Speaker 1: didn't go to the Bahamas either. I did go to
- 29:30Speaker 1: the Bahamas. You did go to Yeah, thanks for remembering
- 29:32Speaker 1: all the fun times behind. I was on Chunk Beach, Yeah,
- 29:36Speaker 1: chungk Beach that season eight. That was season eighth. Then
- 29:40Speaker 1: you went all the way to the Okay, so maybe,
- 29:42Speaker 1: oh you know what I did? I left and then
- 29:43Speaker 1: I came back left one season trying to get out
- 29:46Speaker 1: and we pulled you back there. I mean, it was
- 29:49Speaker 1: the best job ever. I couldn't, you know, but I
- 29:52Speaker 1: you know, I never really wanted to be an actor,
- 29:54Speaker 1: like im like I'm a documentary filmmaker now, like I
- 29:57Speaker 1: want to be behind the camera. So um, I was
- 30:00Speaker 1: maybe good at mimicking your voice over, but I just
- 30:03Speaker 1: sort of like you for me. From my perspective is
- 30:06Speaker 1: you guys were ideal because we just all had we
- 30:09Speaker 1: had to spend so much time together, and I just
- 30:11Speaker 1: have so many great memories of cracking up with you
- 30:13Speaker 1: three when I look back on and I look back
- 30:15Speaker 1: on you know, we the three of us, sorry, the
- 30:18Speaker 1: three of us who were the leads of the show,
- 30:20Speaker 1: and the three of you guys, we were just together
- 30:23Speaker 1: all the time, and we just I look back on
- 30:26Speaker 1: those times and just my eyes well from laughter of
- 30:29Speaker 1: just thinking about how many fucking times we would just
- 30:33Speaker 1: have so many inside jokes and be laughing. And it
- 30:36Speaker 1: was great because it kept a vibe of like we
- 30:38Speaker 1: had to be like trying to be funny on camera
- 30:40Speaker 1: for sixteen hours a day, and having you guys be
- 30:43Speaker 1: there and just giggling with you guys was so so awesome. Well,
- 30:47Speaker 1: I often tell people, you know, we we spent so
- 30:50Speaker 1: much time together. There was nowhere else to go. We
- 30:52Speaker 1: were in this hospital and we all got to there.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I mean there was no iPhone either, and so people
- 30:58Speaker 1: were on their phones all the time. It was like
- 31:00Speaker 1: we were all talking and and and we got to
- 31:03Speaker 1: know each other like a family. And I don't even
- 31:06Speaker 1: think I realized at the moment how special that was
- 31:10Speaker 1: until I got out there. I mean, here we are,
- 31:11Speaker 1: we're twenty years older, you know, and then we get
- 31:14Speaker 1: really I'm just saying this, right, you do not you know,
- 31:17Speaker 1: like a day older? What is your secret? She's going,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I'm in my forties, so
- 31:31Speaker 1: I I you know, look you thank you. But no,
- 31:35Speaker 1: it was I mean, we just we It was like
- 31:38Speaker 1: the whole crew, the cast. Everybody got along so well.
- 31:41Speaker 1: We were all together every day and and we just
- 31:45Speaker 1: and I said, I said to somebody later in another
- 31:48Speaker 1: job that I had, I said, I we went to
- 31:50Speaker 1: work every day, we had fun, we laughed, we got
- 31:54Speaker 1: things done, and we got paid for it. And it's
- 31:57Speaker 1: like it didn't feel like a job. It was the
- 32:00Speaker 1: dream job. You knew you're gonna have a good day
- 32:03Speaker 1: every day, You're gonna laugh like every day. Yeah you knew, Yes,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I agreed, you knew, no matter what, you were going
- 32:09Speaker 1: to have a couple of belly laughs that day. And
- 32:12Speaker 1: everybody was so so nice. I got along with everybody,
- 32:16Speaker 1: and I can't name one person that you know there.
- 32:19Speaker 1: There was no diva stuff, Bill Lawrence that you know,
- 32:23Speaker 1: he would not accept jerks. You know it was his no, no,
- 32:28Speaker 1: a whole policy. Right, you guys can if you want
- 32:31Speaker 1: to start, you can see. Really, I'm not comfortable with
- 32:34Speaker 1: you guys censoring yourself. She's like, do you guys know
- 32:44Speaker 1: that the Texas rule about cursing? I love Texas, but
- 32:48Speaker 1: yeah I can. I canuck curse m D. We still
- 33:00Speaker 1: played golf together. Yeah, I see. I've seen you a
- 33:03Speaker 1: couple of times, Zach, not nearly enough, but you know,
- 33:06Speaker 1: I see Donald. We play golf. Good time out there. Um, now,
- 33:09Speaker 1: has Donald's game gotten much better? Deontay, because that's what
- 33:12Speaker 1: we hear, We hear, Oh yeah, yeah, no, no, his
- 33:15Speaker 1: game has got a lot better. And you know what,
- 33:16Speaker 1: it got a lot better quick. I don't know what
- 33:18Speaker 1: he was doing. I think he was taking lessons, like
- 33:20Speaker 1: twenty four hours a day a couple of years. We
- 33:22Speaker 1: got a gryme, You got a grind. He's got the
- 33:24Speaker 1: kids into it too. He's got the kids at the
- 33:26Speaker 1: driving range. Dude, I'll go play golf. With Deontay. We
- 33:30Speaker 1: went and played like somewhere out in the middle of nowhere,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and we ran into his brother and his nephew. Yeah
- 33:35Speaker 1: we can family into sports. Always knew knows everybody, Yes,
- 33:43Speaker 1: every any they were background if they were you know,
- 33:46Speaker 1: we had our normal circle of of a background of folks.
- 33:49Speaker 1: And then you know, lots of other random people would
- 33:52Speaker 1: would rotate in and Deontay always knew them. He'd be like, hey, like,
- 33:57Speaker 1: you're like the mayor. He was like, farms we call yeah,
- 34:02Speaker 1: specifically the females he knew. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Are
- 34:09Speaker 1: you are you? Are you single? Are you dating someone?
- 34:12Speaker 1: I've been dating someone for maybe the last eight years.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I hope I got that right. Kill me. They lived together, ye,
- 34:20Speaker 1: and Deanta is not any together. It's not anyone we know, like,
- 34:23Speaker 1: not someone from someone from scraps. By the way, do
- 34:27Speaker 1: you know this guy's this? Umanta? You know this. You'll
- 34:31Speaker 1: be able to articulate this better than I can. Um So.
- 34:33Speaker 1: The two standings that replaced Renee and Scott were Selina
- 34:39Speaker 1: and Jesse and drum roll. They got married. Yeah, think
- 34:45Speaker 1: of you. They have two kids. So those of you
- 34:48Speaker 1: who wish the JD and and Elliott stayed together. The
- 34:51Speaker 1: two standings of them did and they got stun your
- 34:55Speaker 1: stunt people got married too, Yes, broken up. They broke up,
- 35:00Speaker 1: but they met if you remember that bungee stunt, they
- 35:03Speaker 1: met that day doing the bungee stunt, and then they
- 35:06Speaker 1: fell in love and got married in Pasadena the Bridge. Yes. Yes,
- 35:10Speaker 1: oh wow. We don't like to tell the end of
- 35:12Speaker 1: the story that they got divorced because it's not a
- 35:13Speaker 1: semantics all right, we need to go to break. We're
- 35:18Speaker 1: to go to break and when we come back, were
- 35:19Speaker 1: you guys, you're gonna join us and looking at this
- 35:21Speaker 1: very funny episode, We'll be right back. Edward bad So, guys,
- 35:33Speaker 1: I don't know if you even listened to the podcast.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Have you guys heard this podcast before? Yes? Yeah, yes,
- 35:38Speaker 1: that was a very tepid response. Donald. Ye. Yes, I
- 35:44Speaker 1: was just driving back from Oregon a couple days ago
- 35:46Speaker 1: and I listened to A Bunch in a Row. So, guys,
- 35:49Speaker 1: don't be shy. We're gonna talk about the episode. Please
- 35:51Speaker 1: chime in anything you thought was funny, any memory you
- 35:54Speaker 1: have of it, anything. It could be totally random. Um.
- 35:57Speaker 1: If you listen to the show, which it sounds like
- 35:59Speaker 1: you don't um you know that it's I will say, Donald,
- 36:05Speaker 1: I think i've heard it more. I heard the episode
- 36:07Speaker 1: with your mother, and I've heard it more than her.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I'm probably in the upper maybe five to ten episodes,
- 36:12Speaker 1: to be honest, I've listen. Oh, you've listened to it
- 36:14Speaker 1: more than my mom has. Yeah, that's that's a very
- 36:16Speaker 1: low bar. And he was, you know what, I think
- 36:21Speaker 1: my mom listened to before you go any farther. I
- 36:23Speaker 1: think my mom listened to the episode she was on
- 36:26Speaker 1: and then the first episode. That's well, first of all,
- 36:29Speaker 1: I think Scott listened. I think just outed himself because
- 36:32Speaker 1: he said I listened to the one with your with
- 36:34Speaker 1: your mom, which means he knew he was coming on
- 36:36Speaker 1: here and frantically listened to the last episode you got
- 36:43Speaker 1: me okay, by the way, Donald, did your mom? Did
- 36:45Speaker 1: your mom like the playback? Did she say she had
- 36:47Speaker 1: a good time on the show. She hasn't spoken to
- 36:50Speaker 1: me about it. Oh, maybe that's not good. I don't
- 36:54Speaker 1: know how about it. I'm sure I'm sure she you know,
- 36:58Speaker 1: she was like she said she had a right time.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I know that, all right? Good, Well, we had a
- 37:02Speaker 1: good time. I'm talking to her. She always makes me smile.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So the episode starts with I'm making out with Kylie, right,
- 37:09Speaker 1: j D got jungle fever? Got jungle fever? You got
- 37:14Speaker 1: jungle fever? Now. Christy Faris, who plays Kylie, is very
- 37:20Speaker 1: talented and beautiful, and she Kylie the character is taking
- 37:23Speaker 1: it very slow, very very slovery, very very slow, very slow.
- 37:27Speaker 1: There is no Have you ever been in a relationship
- 37:29Speaker 1: like out of high school that went slow like that? No? Never? Rightly,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I think I'm all for I'm all for taking it slow,
- 37:46Speaker 1: but I mean, the implication in the episode is that
- 37:48Speaker 1: it's been like weeks and we're just kissing. We're not
- 37:51Speaker 1: even like rolling around groping, We're just kissing. J D
- 37:56Speaker 1: is really into her, if he's he's taking it that slow, Yeah,
- 37:59Speaker 1: you kind I gotta be into somebody if you will
- 38:01Speaker 1: a new gold that's low. Well he is, But it's funny.
- 38:03Speaker 1: I let my first laugh out loud moments when you
- 38:06Speaker 1: cut to me and I'm while I'm kissing her, I'm massaging,
- 38:09Speaker 1: massaging my jaw because I'm so sore from from kissing her.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And that's all we're doing. And I love I love
- 38:16Speaker 1: the plan that uh, he formulates to get to stay over.
- 38:22Speaker 1: The first thing is, oh, I'm tired. Yeah, I think
- 38:26Speaker 1: it's it's so cold outside. It's like it's like it's
- 38:31Speaker 1: like the baby It's cold outside song. I'm like, who
- 38:34Speaker 1: so freezing? It's cold? Yeah. I remember, I remember those
- 38:37Speaker 1: voice those voiceovers, like when he JD's like sort of
- 38:41Speaker 1: searching his thoughts, like what can I do? I just
- 38:44Speaker 1: I always remember, like it just comes back to me,
- 38:46Speaker 1: like your voice in the lines, like so many sides
- 38:50Speaker 1: were like very voice over heavy. So yeah, yeah, will
- 38:54Speaker 1: put you to work in this one. Now you are
- 38:55Speaker 1: also imagining reading the teddy Beard. Now, Donald, you are
- 38:58Speaker 1: the voice of the time of the boy some the
- 39:00Speaker 1: teddy Bear. Yes, I love that. It was a brown
- 39:01Speaker 1: bear on her bed? Yeah? Did which wa? Donald? Did
- 39:09Speaker 1: that with the iget decided after the fact? Or did
- 39:11Speaker 1: Bill the teddy Bear? I'm sure it got decided after
- 39:14Speaker 1: the fact. And they were like, we need somebody to
- 39:16Speaker 1: do with the teddy Bear. Danny Rose, who was doing
- 39:19Speaker 1: uh I was doing post at the time, was like,
- 39:22Speaker 1: we need a teddy bear. You want to do it?
- 39:24Speaker 1: But this was a time when this was a time
- 39:26Speaker 1: when we used to all like you and I used
- 39:29Speaker 1: to love doing like the Obscure. Uh you know, hard
- 39:33Speaker 1: to place voice over. It's like, yes, watching Jerry Springer
- 39:36Speaker 1: or television or something like that. We loved to do that.
- 39:39Speaker 1: So I thought it was a genius choice that the
- 39:41Speaker 1: brown bear on the bed is played by you and
- 39:45Speaker 1: he was the bear does not want me infringing on
- 39:51Speaker 1: his woman. No, that's scary. Yeah, he literally says, he
- 39:56Speaker 1: goes hit the bricks, bitch, you got no game. It's like, yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 1: he's no. Yeah. I don't know if they allowed me
- 40:05Speaker 1: to do that, Vio. Maybe they pulled Deonta in to
- 40:07Speaker 1: do that one game. That's all I listened, Man, I
- 40:14Speaker 1: understand because that bear has was cuddling with that character, yes,
- 40:20Speaker 1: every night, especially if she's not doing it with j
- 40:24Speaker 1: D or anybody else, she's definitely hugging on that bear
- 40:27Speaker 1: or some something. So I gotta tell you now, listen,
- 40:30Speaker 1: I'm very proud of I think that this is one
- 40:32Speaker 1: of my proudest improbms in the whole series. Donald, you
- 40:34Speaker 1: know what it is, Sorry about the Tusie guys that
- 40:42Speaker 1: I still use that sorry about I don't remember. I
- 40:52Speaker 1: remember that that line was non scripted I do remember
- 40:54Speaker 1: that the joke was I think I don't know what
- 40:57Speaker 1: I was revealing. Was it always revealing me pere poohing
- 41:00Speaker 1: or something? Were always revealed to be pooing? Okay, but
- 41:03Speaker 1: I don't know what my line was, but I but
- 41:05Speaker 1: I added, I'm sorry about the twoosy guys, and I
- 41:08Speaker 1: just that's one of my proudest improbs in nine years
- 41:10Speaker 1: of being on the show. I mean, can you imagine
- 41:15Speaker 1: you're culling your fucking partner in the tub, then your
- 41:18Speaker 1: roommated shooting in the same room were Donald's. Donald's reaction
- 41:23Speaker 1: was just priceless. Though it must have been like one take,
- 41:25Speaker 1: you guys were like about to break it so funny.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Donald looked like he was on the Yeah, he was like,
- 41:31Speaker 1: just like that's our voice that we were holding it.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Do you remember we were guys? Would we do that
- 41:42Speaker 1: just territive to fuck up all her takes? Yes? Oh
- 41:45Speaker 1: my god. When she starts laughing, it was over, Like,
- 41:47Speaker 1: oh yeah, if you got her, yes, if you got
- 41:50Speaker 1: her going, it was over. And then Randall's like, yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 1: who would come in, like a line producer would come in.
- 41:56Speaker 1: The line producer was in charge of the budget, would
- 41:58Speaker 1: come into me, like give us the evil eye because
- 42:00Speaker 1: we were over here like in the overtime and we
- 42:03Speaker 1: but no one could hear us because Donald and I
- 42:05Speaker 1: would just do it so soft that only Sarah could hear,
- 42:08Speaker 1: and we go. Sarah would start cracking up and she'd
- 42:13Speaker 1: be like, shut up, and everybody wants to try to work, Sarah.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Everybody is tired, they want to go be with their families.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Stop it. And we'd be like, what was up with
- 42:33Speaker 1: the hat? I joke about that. I don't know was
- 42:36Speaker 1: it a stylish maybe maybe back in um let's see
- 42:39Speaker 1: when this uh in the I don't have the gate
- 42:42Speaker 1: in front of me, but maybe that was a style
- 42:45Speaker 1: At the moment, it was like, what do you call
- 42:46Speaker 1: that a Dutch boy? I don't know what it was, renee,
- 42:48Speaker 1: you know style that weird hat she's wearing Dutch boy
- 42:53Speaker 1: the episode? No, no, actually no, I know what I
- 42:57Speaker 1: noticed about the episode. Actually for me, is it off
- 43:00Speaker 1: times when when Sarah because this episode did not have
- 43:04Speaker 1: a lot of her in it, and whenever she'd have
- 43:06Speaker 1: a day off, I would too. So I remember watching
- 43:09Speaker 1: the episode and being like Ed McMahon was on scrub
- 43:11Speaker 1: something I didn't know that I know that was you
- 43:15Speaker 1: know who wasn't on this episode at all? It was KenKen,
- 43:20Speaker 1: the no conco in this episode at all. That's interesting,
- 43:24Speaker 1: that's true, and we should mention another member of our
- 43:28Speaker 1: posse is not with us today, but we should have
- 43:30Speaker 1: her on sometimes. Katia, who was who was Judy's standing
- 43:34Speaker 1: and she was in our our our posse as well,
- 43:37Speaker 1: and we had tons of good times with her, So
- 43:39Speaker 1: we want to we gotta have Katia come We gotta
- 43:41Speaker 1: have Katia come on too. I know this episode had
- 43:44Speaker 1: a lot of turkey. Turkey in Karla together, so that
- 43:46Speaker 1: meant that, you know, Katia were together a lot. So wait,
- 43:50Speaker 1: did we get the bathtub scene? Were you guys? Did
- 43:52Speaker 1: you guys have to get into water? Also? We got
- 43:55Speaker 1: in the bathtub of pre water. I'm a sicker. That's gross.
- 43:58Speaker 1: If I know that, you know that they wouldn't have
- 44:01Speaker 1: them get in the same water as well. Nowadays they
- 44:04Speaker 1: wouldn't go the times they wouldn't, but back then, the shit, oh,
- 44:07Speaker 1: I want to talk about it. So you know, ideally
- 44:09Speaker 1: for camera and lighting purposes, your standing is your exact
- 44:13Speaker 1: height now, Deontat, it's very frustrating if the camera operators
- 44:20Speaker 1: sets up a shot on someone five five and then
- 44:23Speaker 1: a six foot tall person walks in. All right, Deontay
- 44:29Speaker 1: tell everyone because Dean Donald brought in Deonta because they
- 44:32Speaker 1: were buddies. Well, no, we worked together before. I've known
- 44:35Speaker 1: Deontay since Clueless. So here's here's here's the skin I
- 44:38Speaker 1: want them to tell. I want Deontay to tell about
- 44:40Speaker 1: his shoes. Okay, but we can get to the shoes.
- 44:42Speaker 1: But Deontay. I met Deontay on Clueless. He would do
- 44:45Speaker 1: background on Clueless, right, and then he went over to
- 44:47Speaker 1: Sabrina the teenage Witch, right, And when I did guest spot,
- 44:50Speaker 1: when I guess spotted on Sabrina, he was there and
- 44:53Speaker 1: he was the standing for my character. And I was like, dude,
- 44:56Speaker 1: do you want to do this like all the time,
- 44:58Speaker 1: Like I've known you since Clueless. We've got a great
- 45:01Speaker 1: Brett parte. Let's freaking let's let's let's make this happen.
- 45:04Speaker 1: And so when Scrubs started, there was another guy in
- 45:07Speaker 1: who they hired somebody else and um, he had to leave,
- 45:13Speaker 1: and I was like, I got the perfect guy. It's Deonte.
- 45:16Speaker 1: And Deonta came in and Deontay, yes, it's five eight
- 45:21Speaker 1: and I about I'm five eleven slash six feet, like
- 45:25Speaker 1: I'm in between. You can you can be a typical
- 45:26Speaker 1: actor and round that up to six feet. I'm six
- 45:29Speaker 1: six feet. And so Deontay comes in and they're like, yo,
- 45:33Speaker 1: what are we gonna do about this? But luckily we
- 45:35Speaker 1: had this dude, JK who was also a standing on
- 45:37Speaker 1: the show. Right he was he was Neil's standing. No,
- 45:40Speaker 1: he was, he was Johnny standing and Neils as well.
- 45:45Speaker 1: And so to get so I'll let Deontay take it
- 45:48Speaker 1: from there. Well, basically to get up to Donald's, I
- 45:52Speaker 1: basically wore these platform shoes that had three or four
- 45:55Speaker 1: inches of platforms on them. They were platform sneakers, platform sneakers,
- 46:00Speaker 1: but you would have to run, you have to play basketball.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Oh my god, you know I have so many questions.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Doante Is it true that you, for your own job security,
- 46:14Speaker 1: went out and had them made yourself? I did. I
- 46:17Speaker 1: went out and had those maids. Yeah, exactly. You didn't
- 46:21Speaker 1: expense it, didn't paid for them, they ask Oh they did. Okay,
- 46:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I thought you were worried that they were
- 46:27Speaker 1: gonna can you even though you were Donald's friend, because
- 46:29Speaker 1: it made no sense to have was standing nothing so nice.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Oh no, I wasn't worried, but you know, I had
- 46:33Speaker 1: to go to it an interview to be Donald's stand in,
- 46:36Speaker 1: and they brought in like four other guys, and you know,
- 46:39Speaker 1: you're standing outside. You guys are already working or standing outside,
- 46:42Speaker 1: and people come out and they just look at you
- 46:44Speaker 1: and not say anything like eighty comes out so awkward.
- 46:49Speaker 1: They just look at you know what's is and it's
- 46:50Speaker 1: me standing between all six. They're looking it look like
- 46:58Speaker 1: they're thinking about it, like you're gonna and then should
- 47:02Speaker 1: we go with the guy the one guy? How about
- 47:04Speaker 1: we go with the one guy who's nowhere near Donald's. Hey,
- 47:08Speaker 1: well I had I had the opposite thing happened. I
- 47:10Speaker 1: actually knew Franklin and I go from my I had
- 47:13Speaker 1: to you know. He was like, Hey, there's this this show,
- 47:16Speaker 1: you want to come work on it? And I He
- 47:19Speaker 1: sent all these girls down from Central Casting that looked
- 47:23Speaker 1: nothing like Sarah. So I walked into the room. I'm
- 47:25Speaker 1: the only blonde, young lady in there. There's all these
- 47:30Speaker 1: older women who are like Brunette, and I'm thinking I'm
- 47:32Speaker 1: in the wrong place. Well, it turned out that Franklin
- 47:35Speaker 1: kind of stacked the deck in my had to pick me.
- 47:40Speaker 1: That's nice of him. Yeah, but I don't know why.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I don't know. They must have whispered in the dpf ear.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Oh that's Donald's friend, I mean yeah, yeah. So yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 1: after they did the whispering and they send everyone home,
- 47:54Speaker 1: they said they're going with me and they let the
- 47:55Speaker 1: other guys go. The other guys must have been like,
- 47:57Speaker 1: what the fuck, that's Hollywood. Yeah. Yeah, And I walked
- 48:03Speaker 1: in the hospital with with John Inwood Record photography and
- 48:07Speaker 1: he whispers over to me, good thing, you know, Donald,
- 48:10Speaker 1: there's really good matches over Yeah. To be yeah, to
- 48:15Speaker 1: be fair, they didn't really love me either, especially because
- 48:19Speaker 1: Zach your hair was so velumin there's so much volume
- 48:22Speaker 1: to it, spiked up so high. Yeah, and they were
- 48:25Speaker 1: they were like, you're a little too pale and your
- 48:28Speaker 1: hair is like, I mean, I couldn't. I didn't have
- 48:31Speaker 1: that volume in my hair. I'm sorry. It's just not
- 48:33Speaker 1: washing it Scott, if you really want to achieve it now,
- 48:35Speaker 1: it's not washing. But I do have I dug up
- 48:38Speaker 1: a couple of pictures of me in the Zach Wig
- 48:40Speaker 1: which I had, Oh my god, goes at home? Can wait?
- 48:44Speaker 1: Why why did you? Did you double me or something else?
- 48:46Speaker 1: I did? I doubled quite a bit, and like I did,
- 48:49Speaker 1: I mean to be fair. I don't know if they
- 48:51Speaker 1: would do this now, but I did a couple of
- 48:52Speaker 1: stunts like with noon, like not real hardcore stunts, but
- 48:56Speaker 1: I rode the moped and like went like they'd be
- 48:59Speaker 1: like getting the JD win again. They called that, They
- 49:02Speaker 1: called that. What did they call it? It's like a
- 49:05Speaker 1: hazard pass. Yeah, but you weren't doing it. Don't don't
- 49:08Speaker 1: mislead people that we were putting you in danger. I
- 49:10Speaker 1: was always engaging. You know, you wrote a scooter. Okay,
- 49:14Speaker 1: you're a grown man. You can handle it now. Scott came.
- 49:17Speaker 1: I asked Scott because I loved him to come and
- 49:20Speaker 1: do Garden State. And I didn't think that you would
- 49:23Speaker 1: say yes, because I was like, oh my god, I'm
- 49:25Speaker 1: gonna have to spend so much time with this standing
- 49:27Speaker 1: my first feature. And it was all the way in
- 49:29Speaker 1: New Jersey and I forgot how where did you stay?
- 49:32Speaker 1: But you came and it was awesome. Where did you stay?
- 49:34Speaker 1: I stayed with a friend of mine in like Hoboken,
- 49:37Speaker 1: So I was getting It was such a hard shoot
- 49:40Speaker 1: because of that, because I had to get on the
- 49:42Speaker 1: train at like four am every day. That just getting
- 49:44Speaker 1: and then I think we got we took like a
- 49:45Speaker 1: bus at Midtown, but it took me like an hour
- 49:49Speaker 1: and a half to get to the bus. And then
- 49:51Speaker 1: we drove into like Jersey and I was like, god,
- 49:54Speaker 1: you you were taking the train into Manhattan to get
- 49:57Speaker 1: a bus to go back to h I never knew
- 50:01Speaker 1: that because I had to. Yeah, I had. I'm so sorry.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I would have set up a cot for you in
- 50:06Speaker 1: my hotel room, but no. It was amazing because you know,
- 50:08Speaker 1: you were very loyal and that's part of like the
- 50:11Speaker 1: whole set, you know. I appreciate that, and um, you know,
- 50:14Speaker 1: every the experience was great because, like you know, I
- 50:17Speaker 1: got to meet Natalie Portman and she learned my name.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I think I was just remembering this earlier. I think
- 50:23Speaker 1: you taught her the Rabbidu song on that Yeah, and
- 50:31Speaker 1: Natalie port we sang that when we when whenever we
- 50:33Speaker 1: couldn't find Scott, which wasn't that we exaggerated that we
- 50:36Speaker 1: could never find him. He that's he was always right there.
- 50:39Speaker 1: But we made up a song where Rabbidu rabid Where
- 50:42Speaker 1: is Rabbidu because that's his last name. So are you
- 50:44Speaker 1: saying that Natalie Portman serenaded you with the rabbidue song
- 50:47Speaker 1: she did at one point. I think that's a good
- 50:49Speaker 1: memory and it seems yeah, it seems like. And she
- 50:51Speaker 1: also saw me in my underwear because I was in
- 50:53Speaker 1: that pool for you remember the fool shot. Yeah, I
- 50:56Speaker 1: was like super embarrassed that I was a little shriveled
- 51:00Speaker 1: that point getting into pool. So Natalie Partman is seeing
- 51:04Speaker 1: me in my underwear, and I'm like, you know, anyway,
- 51:09Speaker 1: So you're saying that you wish that Natalie hadn't seen
- 51:12Speaker 1: you in a shriveled situation. Okay, yes exactly. And then
- 51:17Speaker 1: but then you know, it was the sacrifice for the
- 51:19Speaker 1: shot you were directing. I had to get it was cold,
- 51:22Speaker 1: it was it was I know, we tried so hard
- 51:24Speaker 1: to get that pool warm and uh and we had
- 51:27Speaker 1: to because I knew we were gonna have to spend
- 51:29Speaker 1: the whole night in it. And yeah, it never was
- 51:31Speaker 1: warm enough. Everyone was a trooper. But I, by the way,
- 51:34Speaker 1: remind me when we get off to send you some
- 51:36Speaker 1: cool pictures because I found I was looking through old
- 51:38Speaker 1: photos and I found pictures of you in the in
- 51:42Speaker 1: the the boat that we're in at the very end,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I found pictures of you hanging out, and uh, you'll
- 51:46Speaker 1: I think you'll be glad to have them. Oh really, Yeah,
- 51:48Speaker 1: that's great. All right, but let's get back to the
- 51:50Speaker 1: television show Scrubs. So let's look. Elliott lived with the
- 51:53Speaker 1: Babcox who were very old and thought she was a ghost.
- 51:58Speaker 1: That ship had me roland. Yeah. I laughed so hard
- 52:03Speaker 1: at that for some reason, the fact that these old
- 52:05Speaker 1: people let Elliott live with her and thought she was
- 52:09Speaker 1: a ghost. But first of all, you're skip you're skipping
- 52:11Speaker 1: me pulling out the cable bars. Because I was. I was.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I was so pissed that you guys were evicting me.
- 52:18Speaker 1: That was funny. That was This was actually a very
- 52:20Speaker 1: funny episode because of that. Uh, my wife and I
- 52:24Speaker 1: we Zach is our third wheel, or at one point
- 52:28Speaker 1: was our third wheel, and we did everything together. I
- 52:31Speaker 1: was this guy just short of saying sorry about the
- 52:34Speaker 1: Tusie guy, just short of saying sorry about the Tusie
- 52:38Speaker 1: everything together. And so watching this, I was like, you know,
- 52:42Speaker 1: and then at the end of the show, you know
- 52:44Speaker 1: that the Turk and caller can they think they're in
- 52:47Speaker 1: trouble and everything. But I never I never questioned my
- 52:51Speaker 1: wife and I's relationship based on you being a part
- 52:55Speaker 1: of it. But I just remember everywhere we went and
- 52:57Speaker 1: everything we did, Zach was always with us. And so
- 53:01Speaker 1: watching this, it's like, and I remember when Zach wasn't
- 53:04Speaker 1: around and we were like, well, what the fuck are
- 53:06Speaker 1: we gonna do now? Right, just like in the show.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Just like in the show, They're like, they were so
- 53:12Speaker 1: happy to get rid of me because they just wanted
- 53:15Speaker 1: to fuck, that's all. They just wanted to fuck without
- 53:17Speaker 1: fuck in the kitchen. They wanted to fuck the kitchen.
- 53:19Speaker 1: They did it once and then they were like, we
- 53:20Speaker 1: missed t D. Right. Basically, the plot of this episode
- 53:27Speaker 1: is turk It and Carl I want to fuck in
- 53:29Speaker 1: the kitchen. They kicked JD out. They fucking the kitchen.
- 53:32Speaker 1: They missed g D. I get it. You may and
- 53:41Speaker 1: Dunk kids live with me right now, you know what
- 53:43Speaker 1: I mean? And and and I love it when my
- 53:46Speaker 1: daughter goes to her boyfriend's house and freaking my son
- 53:50Speaker 1: he's in school right now. I love when they're gone
- 53:53Speaker 1: and it's just me and my wife in the house
- 53:55Speaker 1: because we get to do shit that we don't normally
- 53:58Speaker 1: get to do, and it's such a great feeling to
- 54:01Speaker 1: have that moment. But then, yeah, we could in the kitchen.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I always remember that. Remember that monologue and Ben Harry
- 54:07Speaker 1: met Sally Donald one of your favorite movies, when gosh,
- 54:09Speaker 1: when she's talking about having sex on the on the
- 54:12Speaker 1: tile floor, she goes fucking the kitchen. She said, we'd
- 54:15Speaker 1: never had sex in the kitchen, and he's like, you
- 54:17Speaker 1: never had sex in the kitchen. She's like, oh no,
- 54:19Speaker 1: you'd hate it. The floor was made out of tile,
- 54:21Speaker 1: tile so cold. Yeah, no doubt. We should mention that
- 54:30Speaker 1: our guest star is Michael Boatman, who was very funny
- 54:32Speaker 1: and one of the another one of the Spin City casts,
- 54:36Speaker 1: all the stars who came to visit us. Yeah, he
- 54:39Speaker 1: did a great job on this also, Yeah, he really did.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I love how he enters by chopper. But they were
- 54:44Speaker 1: clearly too cheap to pay for the chopper, so there's
- 54:46Speaker 1: no shot of the chopper. It's just like a wind
- 54:49Speaker 1: machine and a ladder drop drops out of nowhere. Like, guys,
- 54:52Speaker 1: come on, you could have bought a stock shot of
- 54:54Speaker 1: a chopper like, You're like, no, kid, we're broke. We
- 54:58Speaker 1: spent all the money. Yeah, um, what about? What what
- 55:02Speaker 1: about when I randomly say I banged your first girlfriend
- 55:04Speaker 1: Chantell because I know you go I banged your first girlfriend.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I go Shantell. Yeah, that's so funny because I'm trying
- 55:12Speaker 1: to fight you. I'm like, I'm bang your first girlfriend.
- 55:14Speaker 1: You go Shantell, shan tell. But then we never talk
- 55:19Speaker 1: you about it again. We just move on. That's it.
- 55:21Speaker 1: That's a rat's funny. So this is the first time
- 55:23Speaker 1: you see tower finger man, I laughed every time. When
- 55:26Speaker 1: your breaking foot is in Sarah's face, I laughed down
- 55:34Speaker 1: loud because he misses JD. And Sarah's like the surrogate
- 55:38Speaker 1: who's over to be like I can be fun too.
- 55:41Speaker 1: And then you see Total's footage he's trying to relive
- 55:45Speaker 1: the experience with and she goes, I told you, Turko,
- 55:48Speaker 1: I don't want to play tote finger and then immediately
- 55:50Speaker 1: turks baby. I thought that we tell Elliott to leave. Man.
- 55:57Speaker 1: What about the little says that it's always toe so
- 56:02Speaker 1: always what about? Um? I laughed out loud when I went, um,
- 56:09Speaker 1: I'm riding the scooter with rowdy on the back and
- 56:12Speaker 1: Rowdy has a helmet on. Yes, yeah, I will I
- 56:16Speaker 1: will say I remember that episode for the because you know,
- 56:20Speaker 1: like we were explaining the role of a stand in
- 56:22Speaker 1: so the DP. When John was like setting these shots,
- 56:26Speaker 1: he would be like, uh, rabbity, it's not working to
- 56:29Speaker 1: you have rowdy and he would be like, props bringing rowdy.
- 56:32Speaker 1: So I'd have to stand in holding Rowdy for thirty
- 56:36Speaker 1: forty five minutes under hot lights. And I don't know
- 56:40Speaker 1: if you notice that lights. Yeah, I don't know. He
- 56:42Speaker 1: had this aroma. I don't know if are you, sir
- 56:47Speaker 1: covering Yeah, I don't know if it was the prop
- 56:50Speaker 1: department covering. Maybe he probably smells like because they were
- 56:54Speaker 1: covering him. But he was a dead animal, you know
- 56:59Speaker 1: he was. But it didn't you know, it was like
- 57:02Speaker 1: an homage to him. I get it. It wasn't. It
- 57:06Speaker 1: wasn't gross in the moment, you know, it was. It
- 57:08Speaker 1: was like an homage to It's never it's never discussed
- 57:10Speaker 1: why JD was able in the divorce, was able to
- 57:13Speaker 1: get rowdy Donald. I guess. I guess I must have
- 57:15Speaker 1: been the one who paid for him or something. You've
- 57:18Speaker 1: probably snatched Rowdy too. There's no way Carlo was gonna
- 57:20Speaker 1: let Rowdy stay in the apartment. Also, I do think
- 57:23Speaker 1: it's funny the only Oh, that's probably why Carlo. I
- 57:25Speaker 1: do think it's funny that the only thing I took
- 57:28Speaker 1: was the cable box and rally. Yeah. I love that
- 57:33Speaker 1: you go to all of these different places too to stay,
- 57:36Speaker 1: and right, the one place that you decide on for
- 57:39Speaker 1: one night is staying with the Todd. Oh that's the
- 57:45Speaker 1: that's the funniest part of the episode. I mean, he says.
- 57:49Speaker 1: He says, the Todd is not accustomed to receiving gentleman. Yeah, true,
- 57:58Speaker 1: Oh my god. And then the pres of all the
- 58:00Speaker 1: people on the swimming team and he's like, which one
- 58:02Speaker 1: does you because because there's the biggest, the big, the
- 58:11Speaker 1: big of all the swimmers, and I go, oh, which
- 58:14Speaker 1: funnies and total dead band. He goes, oh, I don't swim.
- 58:20Speaker 1: That was oh my god. And then he shows all
- 58:24Speaker 1: his um, his his banana havocks and it's a lit
- 58:27Speaker 1: closet like lights in it and they're all lined up
- 58:30Speaker 1: and he goes, what are you about a medium? And
- 58:32Speaker 1: I go like extra medium and he goes, he goes
- 58:38Speaker 1: this will do and it's gonna look great. What does
- 58:40Speaker 1: he say, it's gonna look good? Yes, that's the funniest
- 58:45Speaker 1: fucking shit man. Donald rewatching the show, you guys, and
- 58:49Speaker 1: we have a whole new respect for Rob. Like Rob,
- 58:52Speaker 1: Rob steals every episode, every episode Rob is in. His
- 58:56Speaker 1: line is the funniest line of the episode every time.
- 58:59Speaker 1: And I remember when we were shooting this, I remember
- 59:01Speaker 1: being like, it goes, Rob running line again, look at
- 59:03Speaker 1: a run in line. But dude, he delivers every fucking time.
- 59:08Speaker 1: We were always making fun of him, like, oh, come on, Rob,
- 59:11Speaker 1: you run in line again? And now we were we
- 59:13Speaker 1: watching it. Good thing he ran line. He's fucking hilarious.
- 59:16Speaker 1: He's fucking hilarious. Dude. We have a caller, Yes, so guys,
- 59:19Speaker 1: I know you don't listen to the show, or you
- 59:21Speaker 1: pretend to, but we take a caller, Renee, Renee, I
- 59:24Speaker 1: believe you at least um, So we take a caller,
- 59:28Speaker 1: as you know, and uh, and we give him two questions.
- 59:30Speaker 1: I don't know why Daniel and Joelle have decided not
- 59:33Speaker 1: to attend this episode. Why do you guys hate our friends?
- 59:35Speaker 1: You don't you don't want to meet the game, do
- 59:40Speaker 1: you Ultimate hangout Fest. Did you guys, did you guys
- 59:42Speaker 1: break off into a separate rooms on each other we
- 59:49Speaker 1: didn't want to know? Well, I want you guys to
- 59:51Speaker 1: meet our friends and get to know and love them.
- 59:54Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break and when we come back,
- 59:55Speaker 1: we're gonna have a guest, and then we're gonna talk
- 59:57Speaker 1: to the guests. That's gonna be delicious. Here we go
- 59:59Speaker 1: right back and we're back. We are back, all right,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: bringing the guests. Don't be shy, Renee, Scott and Deonta.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: You're gonna share your knowledge of scrubs. And we're also
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: going to do a segment called Fix Your Life where
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: we give them really great psychological help. Here, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: give it up for ear. Welcome, I and you got
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you have. I think you This is the biggest assemblage
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: of people we've ever had on the show at one time, right,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Joel and um wow, I don't know if you've been briefed, Ian,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: but these three lovely people were our stand ins. The
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: handsome man in blue, the particularly handsome man in blue
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: was my stand in, and Renee was Sarah's. And that
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: handsome man with the those dreads or twists, Deionta. Yes, dude,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: you went from twists to bold to twists to ball
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: to twists against my quarantine hair. And you might remember
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Dante is the only person in nine years of Scrubs
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to wear Pooka shells on the show. If you're ever
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: curious who, just go back to your Shoubs episodes and
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: you'll see he's the African American wearing booka shell. Not
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: only were they Pooka shells, they were chokers too. He
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: would wear a choker pok nice. Oh my god. I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: like to think it's because he got in as a
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: child and then grew into it. All right, So Ian,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: where are you calling from, sir? I'm in the town
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: called Westchester, Pennsylvania. We're about like forty five minutes west
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: of Philly. Okay, well, welcome to the program. West Just
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: a PA in the motherfucking whose. Yes, appreciate that's that's
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: you should make that your ring tone when you hear
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: this bat. Let me let me make it one more time. Wait, great, ready,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: go west Just the p A and the motherfucking whose.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: There you go. If you if you if your tech savvy,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: or make that your ring tone, or enlist someone who
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: is in your family, and that should be your ring tone.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I give that to anybody in Westchester. It's free. Yes,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: if you live in Westchester, you're also welcome to use that. Yeah,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: it's an amazing town. Come out some time. I don't
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: think that will ever happen. That will never happen. I
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: don't really think that, you know, Listen, I've only got
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: about forty five years left. I just don't know if
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Westchester as I as I weigh rome. All right, so
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: what's your what's your question for us, sir? And I
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: hope it's I hope it's something that's that that these
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: one wonderful people can weigh in on as well. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: I love to you from everyone here, um and super honored.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Thanks for having met dude. We're so happy you're on. Men,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: We're happy you're here. And it all has to do
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: with that beautiful freckled lady right there who had a
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: who's smiling because she a very nice date. But we'll
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: talk about that later. Oh fascinating. Yeah, And Joel said
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: in the email, She's like, hey, I don't think I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: don't think Donald will be on with you, And I
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: was like, that's fine, I might not get my intro,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: but then to come in. First thing I hear is
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Donald given me that that solid interrot. So I appreciate
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: that that's how it goes. Yeah, So my question basically
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: is just so I'm an educator and um, you know,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: in my role, like we're always reflecting on what we do,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: um the second we finished teaching, like we're our worst
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: critics and we're always picking a part like there's nobody.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I don't think any teacher feels like they did a
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: phenomenal job once they leave a lesson. And I'm curious
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: in your roles, um, like how how you feel when
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you're done, Like do you feel have you walked off
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: a set? Have you walked off a scene where you're like,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I just there's it's it, it's And I've heard you
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: say like it's in the can We're good. Um. But
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: but I've been fascinated to to hear your comments of um,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: like some of it sounds like like I guess my
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: question is like do you go back and watch that
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: before it goes live? Or when do you get a
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: chance to like kind of watch your watch your craft
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: in action. So what you're saying is actually something that
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: a lot of actors do and you can't help but
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: do it so I'll have let's say, whether it be
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: an audition or you have the job. At the end
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: of the day. As an actor, for me, I always
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: reflect on what I did, you know what I mean?
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I think back, what did I do? You know what's usable,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: what's not usable, And then all of a sudden jokes
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: start to come and or the way I said it,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: a different cadence or a different a different emotion comes
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: and I said, oh, I could have did it this way, like,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: oh man, this joke would have been really funny if
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I would have said this instead. Or I wonder if
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: they have the one where I So that always happens. Now,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: that doesn't mean I think I did a bad job,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: but it definitely I definitely feel like I don't always,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: you know, leave it all out there. I don't get
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: it all out out because there's so much more after
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: you're done, and hindsight is twenty twenty as as we
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: all know. So yes, in my experience, I do that
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: all the time where it's like I think I did
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: a good job, but if I just had one more
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: day to think about it, I probably could have done
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: it better. You know, I would go off into the
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: edit suite on Scrubs. It was on the first floor,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: and I would I was kind of I was I
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: wanted to learn, you know, about filmmaking, and but I
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: also wanted to sort of see what they were putting in,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: because you know, we would do so many different versions
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: and ultimately would be up to Bill what was going
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: to go in the show. And as he and I
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: became closer, I would I would campaign for things. I like, like,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: you're not gonna put that in? That was the whole crew.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: You know. Sometimes Bill wasn't on set, so he at
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: the time we were doing something, so he wouldn't know that. Like,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: you know, we don't have a live studio audience obviously,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: so we only have the crew and these guys here obviously,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: so we would we would judge it by like, oh, dude,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: the whole crew and the and everyone was cracking up.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Why didn't you want to use that? So you're sort
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: of jockeying to get the version you think is best in,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: but you have to sort of let it go because
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: it's not you know, it's not unless you're the director
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: or the show runner. It's not really up to you
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: that's something you have to get used to as an actor.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Um different from being a theater actor is that you
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: do it all these different ways and then you give
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: it off to someone and say, oh, please don't make
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: me look bad, Please make me look good, and you
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: might see a cut. You know. Sometimes we've we've all
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: experienced this as actors, that you watch it and you go, oh,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: what happened? Why was that so much funnier on the day,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: because it's all made in the in the edit room.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: You know. Johnny Steves to jokingly go, we'd finish a
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: scene and it was it had gone well, and he'd
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: and I've said this on the podcast are our main
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: editor was named John Michelle, and he'd go, we gave
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: John Michelle some mammo cockily stroll he'd sort of cockily
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: stroll off, and I I remember thinking, like, yeah, we
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: gave John Michelle amo, but I hope he I hope
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: he fires the gun correctly right, and Johnny CEO if
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: he didn't feel like he did something right, he yelled
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: again like he's scared. Yeah, that's one you're absolutely bright
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: about that, Reynee. That's one person who I believe when
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Johnny was done he was like, I got everything out
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: that I wanted to get out. Uh, there's no I didn't.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I left it all on the table. Welbe them to
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: work with. We made up a song for Sarah. Um
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: And because no matter how many the directors on our
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: show were always great, and they do something an actor's love,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: which is, hey, I'm good to move on? Are you
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: okay to move on? To the actor. They would say
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: that and the actor could be like, yeah, I'm good.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I think I got no other ideas. Let's move on.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: But Sarah, without fail would go one more, one more,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: and so we started calling her Sarah one Morsey. Do
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: you guys remember this song? Yes, Sarah she wants one
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: more when she's had five. Sarah one Morsey was one
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: of our jams. Yeah. I think, like, um, there's like that,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: you know, there'd be like that immediate feedback that you know,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: in between takes versus looking at stuff after we've moved on,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: you know later. I think a lot of times me
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: and Donald would talk in between takes, and you know,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: because he trusted that, uh you know, as his friend
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: and as his stand in, he trusted me. You know,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: we kind of discussed sometimes, like you know that take
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: or you hit this, you know, and I think that
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: really hopefully that he'll helped him out. Well, yeah, absolutely takes,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: absolutely and that's true. Like it's always great to have
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: somebody who's not in the who's pretty much got your
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: back to bounce ideas off of it. Yeah, I never
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: knew that you guys did that. That's awesome. Yeah, my
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: pep talk. You didn't ask. You never ask. Now. Well,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I also had a problem remembering lines, and so uh,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: you know, Deontay would help me with You didn't have
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: a problem memorizing lines. You chose to not memorize your lines,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: and that is a problem, sir. Yeah, yeah, the problem
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: you had was that you were playing video games instead
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: of memorizing your lines. Yes, or at the club did
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: you do that? We would be at the club until
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: like four o'clock in the morning, and Zach would still
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: be able to get to work and know his lines.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: And shit, I used we say that like we say
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: that like it happened all the time. That probably happened
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: like five times that we were like out that late
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: over the course of this time. But I two of
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: us were out there. I would never I would never
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: um go out like if I was going out out,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: I would and we were stupid and young. I would
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: not do it on a day when I a night
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: before I had like a big monologue or something. You
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: would go out and be like what are we doing?
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: And I'd be like, you have a one page monologue
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: and like awesome, all right, Ian, what's your question? Well?
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I just you know, I think, um, coming from a
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: LEDs and music, Um, you know, I have I have
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: a fixed my life that I could definitely use some
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: help with. But I think in terms of like this question, Um,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: there are moments when when I watch a show that
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: things just hit me heavy and the music in the
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: background just plays such pivo apart. I don't know if
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: you if how many people watch Handmaid's Tale on here
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: they've seen season two of Handmaid's Tale. Um, and they
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: bring everybody out spoiler alert maybe Um, they bring all
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: the Handmaids out and they're about to hand them um,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: and there's a song in the background. I still can't
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: listen to that song without like getting a little, like
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: fully emotional. And I think, just like I would love
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: to hear any of your thoughts in terms of a
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: if you've experience like what experiences you've had with that
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: watching like just being a participant as a as a
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: viewer of a movie or show. Um. And then also
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: like if like if you've been a part for anyone
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: who's who's been a part of like the musical selection
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: or a recommendation like songs that you've kind of just
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: like pocketed and brought out for that moment. That makes sense.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Zach is the king of soundtrack, so he he'll probably
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: have a better answer for this. But I remember, you know,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: I'm a huge I'm a huge Star Wars fan, right,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: And I remember at a very young age knowing that
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: the music was Yeah, you didn't know that, Zach. I'm
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: a huge Star Wars fan. Donald likes Star Wars, loves
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Star Wars anyway. Um, But at a very young age,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I realized that the music was very important for movies.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: So when I went and saw Jaws for the first time,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: I wasn't scared of the shark coming out of the
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: water and seeing you know, the gore and all of
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: that stuff. What scared me was dud dud dune, dun
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun d And
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: so I would cover my ears for that, I would
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: cover my ears and still look at the screen because
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: that what the screen wasn't what was scary, the music
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: or the fully effect was. And so to to this day, yes,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: I know the importance of music. I will say this,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: my first experience of a good song in a movie
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: has got to be like I want to say, it's uh,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: it's six which I know must be true. Now seen candles? What? What?
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: What was that? From its spanned out ballet? Right? Is
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: that the song is that? I don't know who sings
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: a song. All I know is hearing that song with
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: two people on a table with a sixteen candle birthday kid,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: sixteen candles. I think it had to do that. I
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: think that's what I love. I have no idea what
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: movie was they were sitting with sixteen candles on a
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: birthday kid on a table. Anyway, we'll get to the
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: bottom of this, but I don't know if that was
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: the movie. But there was something about that that really
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: held weight, and you know, it was glory. It was glory.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: It was right. If a movie gets that right, if
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: a movie gets that right, if the movie can find
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: that moment and get that right, it's always it's phenomenal,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: you know. I agree, I agree, And Scrubs did that
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: a lot ian and I can only take credit for
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: a few of them. We've said this before. Christa Miller
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: was a huge part of it. There were certain writers
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: on our staff, including Neil Goldman. Of course, there were
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: lots of other people who submit ideas and I occasionally
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: got some on It really can move. I think of
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: it if your emotion is sort of wavering, if you're
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: on the fence, like am I going to fully go
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: there or not? The song just sort of gently pushes
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: you, you you know. And and when you're trying songs out
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: in the edit room, you can literally line up forty
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: of your favorite songs and you're like, this is my
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: favorite song. I mean, why would I not too? And
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: then you try it and just nothing happens. You're like,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: it's men, and then you just keep going and then
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: a magical reaction happens. I always I always point to
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: the air. I always point to the hair on my
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: arms going up, because you'll be watching it, and all
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: of a sudden, when it's right, you get goose bumps
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: down your arms and you go, well that, And I
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: remember pointing the bill a lot of times, and I'd
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: be like, well, that's a candidate, because something magical just happens. Um,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I know, like a like a you know on set
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: and you know, you don't hear there's no music, You're right,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: music cup in yet when they're filming, and I just
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: remember a lot of times sitting there watching a scene
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: that's pretty sad, I'm like, yeah, that seems kind of sad,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: and then later on post editing, you know you actually
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: watched the episode and I'm over here bawling, you know that. Yeah.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: A perfect example for me is when with that is
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: when Turk is having a hard time figuring out his
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: vows his at the at the wedding step for the
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: rehearsal dinner, he's having a hard time finger out what
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: he's gonna say, and uh, he's his brother in law
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: has tricked him into saying that when Harry met Sally.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Uh in the monologue that Billy Crystal does at the
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: end of when Harry met Sally, And then he's off
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: in the corner with j D and he's like, I
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: just don't get it. You know, everything with Carla has
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: just seems like perfect when such and such an and
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: when I'm around her, I blah blah blah, and I
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: just can't get over and j D looks at him
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: and goes, well, why don't you just say that? And
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: I turned to her and the music that plays at
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: that moment is Gavin Degrass. Oh, this is the start
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: of something good follow through, don't you agree? Right? And
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: when I remember seeing that with Judy and I watched
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: that that episode together and she had seen it already,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: and when that happened, I think we were doing we
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: were doing was that a fart? Daniel? I think my
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: table squeaked, and it might be this is I'm definitely
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: not coming to Westchester, Pennsyli. No. But anyway, so that
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: that moment was, It's so powerful just from the lyrics alone.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: I didn't even know the song. I had to go
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: and buy the song after, just so I could hear
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: what the entire song was. And yeah, using play such
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: a big part in cinema and television. Um and of
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: course winter in in Scrubs. I think in in the
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: episode Everyone Loves is a Josh Braden's song was a
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: huge example on the Scrubs mine. I think I've said
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: this before, but I always pointed to me, one of
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the most significant moments in television song placement was Seas
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Breathed Me in at the Six Feet Under finale. I
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: don't know if you've seen that show. Oh, I got
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: so many of them, freaking adventures in babysitting with Uh, well,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: did you think I would do at this moment? Family
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Ties uses that too? Love that Yeah, same one. Family
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Ties it the same thing, right when he breaks up
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: with the girl for the first time and he's writing
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: her a letter. Yeah, when I'm standing before me ps
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: love and he crossed the girl. Wasn't the girl Courtney Cox, No,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: that was it was his wife, Courtney Cox came after. Okay.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: So if I can say beyond songs, like, the power
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: of a composer is yes, you know, unmatched. I mean
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: because I'm working on a project now, I just started
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: working with a composer and you have you know, Zach,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: you know this like if you're if you're dealing with
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: a rough cut or you know, a radio edit or
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: something that has no music or sound effects, it's like
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: it doesn't have that life. Obviously, in a composer, not
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: only can they give you that feeling, they can it
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: can take a turn so like if you want to
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: sort of like have the shift in emotion, they can
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: do those sort of like variable things that that's that's
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: customed to your pictures. Spoke. Yeah, right, let's be spoke
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: to your picture that a song can't um. So composers,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: you know Scrubs, any television show, they're doing such volume too.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: It's like, I have so much respect for that. Well
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: with Scrubs, you know, Jan did. Our composers did a
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: fine job, but there was you know, we're cranking out
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: so many that yes, they would use a lot of
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: the same as we all joke we use a lot
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: of the same cues blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Or when you needed a quick sting bound, yes, I
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: think you do. Boun I always joked that. One day
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Bill was like, hey, I need a quick sting here,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: and Jan was like stretching. Okay, let me do my
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: work for today. There you go. All right, it's time
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: for being his favorite segment. It's time too fish yea. Yeah, guys,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: uh Renee, Scott and Deonte put your therapist hats on.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: We are he all here to help me in go ahead, um,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: and I appreciate you taking this question. So today happens
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: to be my me and my wife's eighteen year anniversary,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: graduating anniversary, wedding anniversary, or dating anniversary. Yeah, good works.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: So thank you yea. So the time to get this
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: is like super ironic because this is the question I've
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: been I've been wanting it forever. Um, today I married
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: my wife. I said to her. I'm a big back
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: in the day man. I used to make mixtapes like
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Nobody's business. Um, and I would look at like the
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: timing of everything, make sure that there was enough time
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: and minutes and seconds and everything in here. She's coming
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: in here, she doesn't yeh, come on over here, she
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: can come in So anniversary. Yeah here, I'm gonna I'm
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: gonna sell. You'll have to share. Oh you're gonna pull
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: it out. It's okay, you'll hear me. Yeah, we got
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: y Hi Hi, Hi are you? I'm okay you guys,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: so Zach Donald, Scott, Deante, Joel. Yeah, checked out of
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: this podcast. This all happened last night. Um, so we're
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: on this podcast. I've been emailing them. You know. I
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: listened to this NonStop, no scrubs. She said, I love it.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I love that she thought I was lim Manuel see
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: your name. There too many white people, too many white
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: people for Hamilton. All right, welcome, happy anniversary. When we
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: got married, I made a promise every year I make
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: her a mixed team. Okay, now it's obviously going to
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: like a streaming service and like YouTube playlists or whatever.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: But so as I continue to put these together, like
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: we've had a crazy year, and so I'm always trying
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: to look for like I need, I need a jam.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: I need a really good song that we can add
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: to this list. I love this one, I love this one,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: and I just need help kind of like, give me
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: any I'm looking for any inspiration. I mean the list
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: of songs goes from like hip hop to old school
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: to modern stuff to to like Donald you were talking
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: about that sixteen candle song could be on that I'm
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: looking for. I gets something to well, you know my
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: favorite one and you probably use it already, but it's
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: by Method Man and Mary J. Blige. You're good one
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I need to get by I Shorty. I'm there for
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: you anytime you need me. For real, girls, me and
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: your world, Believe me. Nothing to make a man feel
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: better than a woman. Bring with the crown not be
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: down for whatever. There are a few things that's forever,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: my lady. We can make war or make babies. I'm
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: just saying that's a good one. Why don't we all
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: go around and why don't we all go around and
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: recommend a song for their romantic list. I'll give you,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: you guys a chance to think about or go through
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: your phones and look at something you play a lot.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: I just discovered this new song. By the way. I've
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: been watching American Idol this season, and I've been watched
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: American Idol in years and it's Kelly No. I've seen
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: it since then, but it's been a long time since
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I truly watched it. And this season, you know, we
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: stumble into it and it's really good. There's some genuine talent,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: and I like that to keep it sort of young.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: The oldest person's twenty six and the youngest person's fifteen,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: and some of them are just like you cannot believe
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: their voices. But anyway, one of them sang a song
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: that I've been listening to NonStop. It's Ben Rector brand
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: New and it's sort of a poppy rock, but it's
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: just so life affirming and it just gets you amped
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: up and makes you excited to take on the day.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: So that's my suggestion for this moment because I've been
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: listening to it a lot. Ben Rector brand new, Daniel, Wait,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: one last thing that When Harry Met Sally soundtrack has
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: a bunch of really good songs on it, whether it's
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: It Had to Be You or that Yeah you Can't
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Go wrong, it's very it's a lot of uh, it's
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: a lot of um uh Ray Charles two on it.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Uh as well, You're only asked for one song, but
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: thank you. But I love that endless love song, so
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I don't care endless love, that endless love from Deonte okay, Daniel. Um,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: this is a song by one of my favorite Newish
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: artist guy named Gabriel Garsan Montano, and the song is
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: called six eight and it's kind of like a weird rhythm,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: but the weird rhythm is about the weird rhythm of
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: love and uh it's it's it's a song that you know,
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: the music matches the theme and the tone. It's a
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: really good song just called six space eight. Also, Bruno
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Mars leave the door open. I'm saying I'm saying you
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: had your turn all right. Duno Mars song is fire Robid.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: I will say this song was played at my wedding. Um,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: it's the Beatles. You've got to Hide your love away.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I love that song beautiful. It's that is you know,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: that's something that you know the first time I listened
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: to her, you like, I don't know something about it,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: and it was played at my wedding, So I feel
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: I have to add it, uh as a tribute to
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: my wife. If she's listening to this, I'm sure she
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: doesn't listen to now. Renee, are you going to suggest
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: something from a country album because you're intense? No, I
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: have to say anything sting as does I love Okay? Also,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: you can Do Magic by America is one of my
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: favorite songs. You can do keep Going, Renee is actually
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: and Renee is an incredible dancer. Renee, if you back up,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: would you do a dance for their anniversary with Okay?
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: Did everybody go? Joel di you go? I have a
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: country song. It's from Casey Musgraves, who does like she's
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: like the spiritual follow up to Willie Nelson. Um, but
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: she sometimes says like these secondelic songs, and I love her.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: It's a song called Golden Hour and is so beautiful
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: and just about you know, your love being like a
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: sunrise and it's just it's pretty and sweet. And then
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: Kane Brown has a wonderful song called Heaven. I don't
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: know if you're looking looking through our phones now looking
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: for like Kane Brown, everybody's song in like about Heaven,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Like it's such some place to go. That's a good
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: one too, Lying here with you, lying next to you.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: It's a great song. You know what My favorite song,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: My favorite song is the Joelle Monique is Down to
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: get Down song. That's out of fact. I think you
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: should put that on your your little mixtape, the Joelle
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Monique is Down to get Down song. In fact, didn't
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: you listen to Miss Michelle branch A Live? Oh yeah,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I talked about Michelle on the show, and in fact,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: we were d ming and I thought I was going
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: to get her to come on and sing yo every
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: weting me. She was like, that's gonna cast you about
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: fifty grand. No, yeah, I don't know, because she was.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: We were, we were, we were having a nice chat
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: and then I was like, do you want to come
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: on the podcast and sing everywhere acoustic? And then she
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: never replied, UM, like, all right, thank you guys, thank
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: you welcome, You're welcome, and thank you for coming on
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: and have a wonderful anniversary. I apologize that we're not
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: the cast of Hamilton, but you will find when you
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: see Hamilton there are a few more African Americans in
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: their cast, but we're a good second best. I was
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: just happy that she thought I was lin Manuel. I
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: don't think she thought you were living well. I bet
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: you she did. She thought I was lin Manuel Miranda.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: I see, all right, thank you guys, thank you, so
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: you guys, we're gonna wrap it up soon. Um. I
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: thought it was funny that I try and enroll you
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: guys into a forsome into bed with me and Kylie.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I thought it was hilarious when you walk by the
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: trumpet player and you go by trumpet player, I don't
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: know by trump you said, by trumpet player, I don't know.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Now I know why your music is so sad? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: I made that up too. I was on fire in
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: this episode, let's be honest. I also laughed at it's
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: so hot. Yeah, and then the janitor comes out and goes,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: this should not have been removed. Oh my God, and
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: then to Sam Lloyd. Yes, right, yeah, between me and
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: my mom. Um, well I hope you guys had fun.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: We love you, we miss you. Um, maybe you'll come
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: back on again if you had a good time. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: thank you want to talk about God? I do have
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: something I want to plug actually, can I yes, yes, Okay.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: I'm finishing up my first documentary feature, so Zach, you
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: know how difficult that process. I've been working on it
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: for like four years. And um, the film is actually
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: about a relative of mine. His name is Billy Dean Anderson.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: He was a criminal but also an outsider artist who
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: escaped a maximum security prison and went to live in
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: a Tennessee cave for four and a half years while
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: he was on the run, and so in the cave
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: he painted, sculpted, kept a journal. Um. So my sort
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: of intent with the project is to shift the focus
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: away from his criminality, which the local sort of prop
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: up um as this like he's as this defiant sort
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: of folk hero figure, and uh, shift focused to his art,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: his art and his creative life, and sort of show
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: the power of his art to reconnect him to his humanity.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Sounds incredible, Yeah, that's I'm working with a composer now
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: in like in the final stages. All right, So you're
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: just telling everyone to look out for it when when
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: it's done, it's what you're saying, Yes I have. What's
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: the website it's called a Long Hard Streak, which is
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: not pornographic in anyway. It's it's actually a piece of
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: his writing. It's like a brain. My brain did not
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: go to something pornographic, thanks Scott. It's a section of
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: his writing. It's a it's a it's like a phrase
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: from his poetry. Okay, And what's the website where people
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: can check out your work? It's Long Hard Streak dot com,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Longhardstreak dot com. Everyone check out the legendary Scott Rabidu's documentary,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: which sounds very interesting. I'll be the first person watching
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: it when you're done, Deane. Anything you want to um No,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: I just want to you know, I'm not plug anything.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: I just want to say, I'm want to plug you
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: guys say thanks a lot for having us on, Thanks
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: a lot for you know, the years on Scrubs. You know,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: you guys probably don't even realize that you know, we're
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: standing in so we're watching all the time. That's all
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: we do. Were there fourteen hours a day. I learned
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: so much from from from Uzach and you, Donald and
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Bill and the directors and all the writers. It was
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: just I couldn't I couldn't ask for a better place
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: to actually learn comedy. Um, you guys don't know. Like
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: after the show ended, I went on to stand in
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: on other shows, mostly sitcoms, and every show I went
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: to I would end up getting a part because I
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: would do the run through for something that's not cast
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: and they would be like, wow, this guy gets it
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: and gets comedy. And it was because the training I
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: got on scrubs every day. So I just want to
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: say thank you, thank you. It was you went off
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: and did improv for a bit too, though, didn't you.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: I did? I did uh Neil Flynn, you know. I
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: just thought he was hilarious and he put me onto
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: his improv Olympic UH studio and I went there for
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: a couple of years and did all their all their
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: levels of training and shows over there. So I mean
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: I was going to work with you guys twell, fourteen
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: hours a day, leaving there going straight over to do improv.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: So for years, I just I feel like, I just
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: got the best training that you could possibly get and
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: it just let you know, it just lets me to
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: get more work just because you guys, and you guys
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: are always so generous. I don't yes out there, you
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: guys don't know. I would have auditions and these guys
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: like I like almost everyone on the cast, like what
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: are you doing to day? I'm like, oh, I got
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: an audition at you all right, well let's see it,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: and they would help me. So it was just amazing.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: I couldn't well. We always we always rooted, We always
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: rooted for all you guys, and we love you. And
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: I'm so happy to see you. I mean, I I
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: just I really miss you guys, and I look at
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: you and I just have a smile creep across my
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: face because I think of all the fun times we
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: had together. Renee, is there anything you want to Well, No,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: I'm I'm I'm a stay at home mom now and
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: well homeschooling because of COVID. But yeah, Scrubs. It helped me.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: After I left Scrubs, I was a PR director for
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: an arts foundation in school, and of course being on
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Scrubs helped me to, you know, be a good PR
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: person because I was so used to you know, it
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: kind of gave me the confidence and the background to
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: feel solid in that career and that I did that
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: for many years until I became a stay at home mom,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: And to this day, I mean I would ask I
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: would ask Andy rosson why he lit things certain ways,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: why he did that, how he got rid of shadows?
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: And I can take great photos of my of my
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: daughter because every single person on Scrubs had I had
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: a camera, had a like ahead of this, head of that,
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: and they were all doing these things and you just
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: couldn't help but get it was like it was like
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: a course. Yeah, you know private. I feel the same way.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: I um. I think about how much I learned from
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: from people on that show and and and even for
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: me it's the often obviously Bill, but a lot of
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: the directors. I mean, so much I learned about comedy
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: directing from It was like a grad school. We all
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: got to learn from all these really really talented people.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Zach, I mean I echoed exactly what Deonte said, Oh,
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: now you're gonna get tip. No, but in the sense
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: of being behind the camera, because you know, obviously our
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: job was to stand there and we basically observed and
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: I got to see camera, lighting, sound, every how the
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: sausage was made. And obviously, Zach, watching you was amazing. Um,
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: and I learned so much from you as you were
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: learning from other people. And it was just this environment
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: where you know, it was everything was so open, you know.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: I think I strapped the steady cam on a few
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: times and the you know, everyone just let you learn
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: and let you do what you needed to do. And
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: it's really like helped me in this sort of like
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: one man band type filmmaking. I do. Now, awesome, last
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: question and then I'll let this go. I'm sorry, Zach.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Have you, guys worked with other people from the show
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: since the show? I worked with with Jane Um Jane right,
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: you know writer. I worked with her on a sitcom
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: for about uh four or five years right after Scrubs.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: And that's about it, though. That's only person I've really seen. Um. Well, guys,
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: thank you. Um. Well, what do we want to say
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: as we wrap up? Joelle? Let's not forget anything. Oh um,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: there's some socks in the merch store, guys. We we
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: have fum fancy socks if you feel like you want
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: to put in my face. Yes, if you guys want
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: to step on me in Donald's faces, you can, even
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: if you don't want to step on us, even if
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: you want to use it at never mind never You know,
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: it's not your once, it's in your your possession. You know,
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: we've told you how we had to sometimes strategically hide
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: our junk in a sock when doing a sex scene.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: You can put this on your junk. Okay, I was
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: gonna say, if you want to, you can take the
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: sock and wrap it around your junk. Yeah, whatever you
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: want to do with it, it's in you. It's in
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: your hands. Yeah. Please do not send us pictures of this. Um.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: But you go love Joels like doing a dead pan
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: no face U we U go to the merch shop,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: which is h Cotton Bureau dot com. And if you

- 1:35:40Speaker 1: find the socks and they're dope. We still have badge
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: poles if you're someone who needs a badge on those
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: are cool. Also, we're gonna re up on new things
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: in the merch store. Yes, we're talking about new stuff, Joel.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: Anything I'm forgetting h No, guys, we the whole rotation
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: of episodes will be done. I know some of you
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: are very upset, you're confused, but but don't worry. This
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: is two eighteen. We're gonna hop back to two seventeen.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: We're eighteen. Oh sorry, guys, started starting to get just
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: started to get the party. Yeah. I know a lot
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: of you guys are worried about missing episodes or trying
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: to watch and be on time with everything. So as
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Zach mentioned at the top of the show, where we
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: will be going back and catching up. So you will
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: get four sixteen, four seventeen and four eighteen total, just
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: and the end, and we're gonna put and we're gonna
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: put out the live show on audio. And it's how
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: you will get four sixteen. Yeah, that's gonna come too,

- 1:36:42Speaker 1: I miss you guys were most important. And you guys,
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: I mean, if you're ever in Austin, I don't think
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: Auston is the city I'll be in. Yes, I can
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: actually go to Austin every now and then so okay
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: um and one day, one day, you guys, we really
