- 0:21Speaker 2: It is the fore Finger Discount mail bag four November
- 0:23Speaker 2: twenty twenty five.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I am and I am going. You just jumped right
- 0:27Speaker 1: into that.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I like to jump right into everything I don't Sometimes
- 0:31Speaker 2: upon us, isn't it here in Australia Christmas times?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Upon us? You would you would think so, except it's
- 0:35Speaker 1: been miserable the last couple of days.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Plus it worked out well though, because we had really
- 0:39Speaker 2: good weather last week and then on Friday it was
- 0:41Speaker 2: supposed to be the weather Foreka said piss and rain right,
- 0:45Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, the poor kids, because they're
- 0:46Speaker 2: going to be going trick or treating and they're going
- 0:48Speaker 2: to not be able to trick a trick. It's going
- 0:49Speaker 2: to be piss and rain right, And then it just stopped.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So our estate says you can trick a treat from
- 0:55Speaker 2: five o'clock onwards to be four five o'clo. Because then
- 0:57Speaker 2: when I scattered from whah blah blah blah, and then
- 0:59Speaker 2: at five the five, it's like rain stops.
- 1:02Speaker 1: It's open son and all the kids, it's like it's
- 1:06Speaker 1: the most wonderful time of the year. So it was great.
- 1:08Speaker 2: So all the weekend was really nice weather. Then Monday
- 1:10Speaker 2: almost just piss and rain again. I don't mind, I have
- 1:12Speaker 2: it's pissing rain during the week the weekend, and the
- 1:14Speaker 2: weekend's fine where you're coming from. Yeah, but I feel
- 1:16Speaker 2: like every day's a weekend for us. That's how I
- 1:18Speaker 2: feel at the moment. I said to my mate the
- 1:19Speaker 2: other day, Because what do you do on the weekend,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I said, heavy day kind of feels like the weekend
- 1:22Speaker 2: for me because I don't go to a place to work.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Did he punch you in the face? Did he kick
- 1:28Speaker 1: you on the ball?
- 1:30Speaker 2: I said, Like, I do work, but because I don't
- 1:32Speaker 2: leave the house, it doesn't feel the same. You know,
- 1:35Speaker 2: I know, it's like I know exactly I'm home on
- 1:37Speaker 2: the weekend and I'm home during the week.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 2: No, I dropped me, insane. I feel exactly the same way. Yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 2: time has lost all meaning. Yeah, but we're here to
- 1:44Speaker 2: talk about some questions, aren't we. We got a bunch
- 1:46Speaker 2: of them, Yeah, we did. So mailbag at four finger
- 1:48Speaker 2: discount dot com dot If we don't get to your
- 1:50Speaker 2: question this week, don't panic. We'll get to your question
- 1:52Speaker 2: in next month's mail bag. So we've gathered up all
- 1:55Speaker 2: the questions. We will get to all of them. Some
- 1:57Speaker 2: of them are safe for Christmas time as well, because
- 1:58Speaker 2: some of them are Christmas themed. Because Halloween was last
- 2:01Speaker 2: week October thirty first, it's now early November, we thought
- 2:04Speaker 2: we'd try and pick out all the Halloween based questions.
- 2:07Speaker 2: There's all some others as well that have come through.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And the first one that may I just real quickly, yeah, shure,
- 2:12Speaker 1: we got start.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yes. The first question here that came through
- 2:15Speaker 2: is what did you guys do for Halloween?
- 2:18Speaker 1: All right? Shall I start? Go for it? Okay, Listeners
- 2:22Speaker 1: to the show will be aware of my friend Savvy Steve. Yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: the savviest of Saves is indeed the early adopter of
- 2:28Speaker 1: much technology, but also a big, big fan of Halloween.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So every year but last six seven years or so,
- 2:38Speaker 1: he will go wild get all manner of Halloween candy
- 2:41Speaker 1: from all over the world. Really, he actually imported something
- 2:45Speaker 1: from the US store Spirit Halloween. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I've got to mate who's coming over at Christmas time,
- 2:51Speaker 2: and I've ordered some stuff in Spirit to his house.
- 2:52Speaker 1: He's gonna Halloween stuff is yeah, because Spirit Halloween will
- 2:55Speaker 1: not ship to Australia, so we had to go through
- 2:56Speaker 1: one of those places. It's like drop shippers. Yeah, the
- 2:59Speaker 1: drop shiping costs almost as much as the thing itself,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but it was worth it because it was a spooky
- 3:04Speaker 1: jack of Landon and it spooked the heck out of
- 3:07Speaker 1: the kids showing up to get their Halloween candy. What
- 3:10Speaker 1: did it do? Oh no, no, that's what the kids
- 3:12Speaker 1: would do, but it would sort of go and then
- 3:16Speaker 1: it was like pup, open a jack and loot. That's awesome. Hope,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I hope that visual work. Hopefully audios, what he gave
- 3:24Speaker 1: you sends to what the visual was like. But does
- 3:25Speaker 1: he clean up at Big w and Target whatnot? When?
- 3:28Speaker 2: So it's always November first, It's like everything's just like
- 3:31Speaker 2: the fifty to sixty percent half.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I'm wondering how much of it he buys locally because
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think a fair bit of any importance, because I
- 3:36Speaker 1: think he wants to have a very sort of going
- 3:38Speaker 1: to be like, oh you got that from Target as well. Yes,
- 3:40Speaker 1: he wants to have stuff that's a little more shall
- 3:43Speaker 1: we say individual.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It's like how I used to be. I'm not nearmore,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but it used to be. We're talking about it with
- 3:49Speaker 2: Nina O Yama and fourfing a discount. This is forking
- 3:51Speaker 2: it just recorded gone down this pup an episode of
- 3:53Speaker 2: Nino Yamahow saw shirts online because then you thought no
- 3:56Speaker 2: one else is going to have it. That's where you
- 3:57Speaker 2: see someone else having You're.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Like, damn it. Everyone else has the Internet as well.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So I went over to help Steve out with handing
- 4:06Speaker 1: out some trick or treat bags. What is he for?
- 4:09Speaker 1: He's in drum Condra, which is not far from yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but anywhere, and Geelong is not far from anywhere else.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And just had a really nice time. I mean, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: you had kids of all ages rocking up to you know,
- 4:19Speaker 1: get those sweet treats. And Steve had also recently splashed
- 4:23Speaker 1: out and bought an Evil Dead pinball machine. Oh the
- 4:27Speaker 1: legit one. Yeah the sabby Steve have kids, but played
- 4:34Speaker 1: a few rounds of the Evil did pinball machine. That
- 4:36Speaker 1: was pretty rad too. I think Steve should be all
- 4:39Speaker 1: over the virtual pinball. He's the kind of guy that
- 4:42Speaker 1: would have one of those. I think he likes old
- 4:44Speaker 1: school but you still have the virtual as well, I'm sure,
- 4:47Speaker 1: but I think he prefers the more Tactile one. So yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 1: there was that. I played a few rounds of that,
- 4:52Speaker 1: which was rad, and I swear get tired. So I
- 4:55Speaker 1: went home, had a little bit of a snack, and
- 4:57Speaker 1: I watched Nightmare on Elm Street. Three Dream Warriors. Why three?
- 5:01Speaker 1: Have you recently watched one and two or you? No? No?
- 5:03Speaker 1: I just like three.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I think it might be my favorite. It's got, you know,
- 5:06Speaker 2: rock and songs by Dock And I've never been a
- 5:08Speaker 2: huge fan of the night Mare and al Street series
- 5:09Speaker 2: in general. I remember of all because when I was
- 5:12Speaker 2: a teenager used to love Horror, Francis the major ones,
- 5:15Speaker 2: and I was big on Halloween, big on Fine the thirteenth,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and then just there was something about Freddy Krueger. It
- 5:20Speaker 2: was fine, it was my favorite.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Something wrong with you Bitch? I don't know, it's just
- 5:25Speaker 1: that wasn't the rock that was that was Freddy Krueger.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Although it sounds a bit like the rock. I just
- 5:29Speaker 1: I think it'sund all at Freddy Krueger. Thanks, Yes, I know,
- 5:33Speaker 1: just something I was wah people actually pinpoint why Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say it's one of those you had
- 5:39Speaker 1: to be there things, but I think it really sort
- 5:40Speaker 1: of hits Hart of a Generation X kids. He feels like, yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 1: it feels like ours. Yeah, and he said that, I
- 5:46Speaker 1: mean you were a fan of Michael and Jason, then
- 5:47Speaker 1: we sort of claimed those as well.
- 5:49Speaker 2: But it's more the simplicity of those ones as well.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Could will be walking remember with the knife?
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Jason and Front of the thirty, And that's very
- 5:56Speaker 1: sort of just blunt object, doesn't it? Yeah? Or sharp object? Yes? Indeed,
- 6:00Speaker 1: what did what did you dress up? Did you dress up?
- 6:02Speaker 1: And I didn't dress up? In the just was guy Davis?
- 6:03Speaker 1: I did? Yeah, the spookiest creature of the podcast extraordinaiyce.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It's this thing on.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So I got the kids from school, got them into
- 6:12Speaker 2: their costumes, got all the lollies ready to decorate the house,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and then took Nicola to Melbourne to watch Oasis. So
- 6:21Speaker 2: my parents took the kids to god Trading and we
- 6:23Speaker 2: went to Oasis. It was on the thirty first, and
- 6:26Speaker 2: it was a really good gig. You know, I was
- 6:27Speaker 2: a big fan of Oasis and it's one of those
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oasis are a band that I haven't gone back and
- 6:31Speaker 2: read this into for a while. And I remember during
- 6:34Speaker 2: my teen years, I was really big on Oasis, and
- 6:37Speaker 2: then recently I put them on about two weeks ago
- 6:40Speaker 2: because I got the Messa saying don't forget you going
- 6:41Speaker 2: too Oasis, and I was like, that's right about those
- 6:44Speaker 2: tickets a year ago and I was like, oh, that's cool,
- 6:45Speaker 2: and I put Oasis on. I went this was like
- 6:47Speaker 2: the soundtrack for my teen years. Like a lot of this.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I've completely forgot some of these
- 6:51Speaker 1: songs existed, and I'm not gonna lie. There's a song
- 6:54Speaker 1: by Oasis called Little by Little right as my favorite
- 6:57Speaker 1: Oasis song as a part just before the bridge to
- 7:00Speaker 1: the chorus where he says and.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Maguary woke up on the wrong side of his bed.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It's a real singer long part and it's my favorite
- 7:06Speaker 2: thing that Oasis do. And I'm going to be honest,
- 7:09Speaker 2: I started crying.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Oh. At the concert. I was singing it and I
- 7:13Speaker 1: was I was like crying. I don't even realize, and
- 7:16Speaker 1: I I was like sad, power of music. But it
- 7:19Speaker 1: was just weird. I didn't even realize I was crying.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I was just like because he sang the first chorus
- 7:23Speaker 2: and then I was what's my face? I was like, oh, oh,
- 7:26Speaker 2: I'm crying. I was like, it's amazing what music can
- 7:29Speaker 2: do to you.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Absolutely, you were so happy to be there, and so
- 7:33Speaker 1: through a by the experience that you lit up a flare. Oh.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I was about to say, so, if you've been the
- 7:38Speaker 2: under a rock, you wouldn't be aware. But if you
- 7:40Speaker 2: are a follower of os, social media or just the
- 7:43Speaker 2: news in general, someone set off a flare during the
- 7:46Speaker 2: last song Champagne, Sup and ever was that last song.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And about two or three minutes in, we're we're on
- 7:52Speaker 2: Marvel Stadium. We're on the floor, so we're all standing
- 7:54Speaker 2: around and I see this orange light and obviously Nicola
- 7:58Speaker 2: and says to you, my sister who came with this
- 7:59Speaker 2: a little bit sor he says orange light. And I'm like,
- 8:01Speaker 2: what is that? I thought more glowstick or something. And
- 8:05Speaker 2: I see this flare go flying from one side of
- 8:07Speaker 2: the crowd to the other on the stand in the
- 8:08Speaker 2: standing room. And I was sitting there going, oh.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That's not good.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That is not good. The person threw it, that's the thing.
- 8:15Speaker 2: They lit it and threw it right. I was like, oh,
- 8:17Speaker 2: that's to And then all of a sudden, you see
- 8:19Speaker 2: this smoke coming up and this dry orange light, and
- 8:23Speaker 2: all I could see was the flare and it looked
- 8:26Speaker 2: like a fire right, And for about I've said to
- 8:29Speaker 2: my mates, for about five seconds, I genuinely thought, Okay.
- 8:34Speaker 1: We need to go now. I don't want to die
- 8:36Speaker 1: in Marls. Yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I grabbed Nicholas's hand, I looked to my sister and
- 8:39Speaker 2: I was about to say we need to go now,
- 8:43Speaker 2: because I'm looking over and I'm seeing people sort of
- 8:45Speaker 2: like moving around, moving away, and this is flaying, and
- 8:49Speaker 2: I thought the roofs closed, there's sixty thousand people here.
- 8:51Speaker 2: We're going to die in this room if this is
- 8:53Speaker 2: a fire. Noel Gallagher you can see he's on the
- 8:55Speaker 2: big screen. You see him stop playing the song. He's
- 8:58Speaker 2: just looking down. He's looking over at lean looking at it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: He's like, is anyone else seeing this?
- 9:02Speaker 1: And my fucking is there a fire there?
- 9:04Speaker 2: So what happened was someone picked up the flare and
- 9:07Speaker 2: held it above their head and was waving it around
- 9:09Speaker 2: trying to be here, but also just to make sure
- 9:11Speaker 2: it doesn't get thrown anywhere else and just sort of
- 9:13Speaker 2: protecting everybody. But for five ten seconds, I actually thought
- 9:18Speaker 2: I'm going to die in Marvel Stadium It was scary,
- 9:20Speaker 2: and it was kind of disappointing because it left the
- 9:24Speaker 2: concert on a bit of a down note because that
- 9:27Speaker 2: was your last song and you're like, oh, it's it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: the last Champanship and ever oh am I going to die?
- 9:31Speaker 2: And for I reckon for the I don't think I
- 9:33Speaker 2: listened to the rest of the song because the rest
- 9:35Speaker 2: of the song I was just concentrating on this flare
- 9:37Speaker 2: I'm not dying and worrying to make sure that another
- 9:39Speaker 2: one's going to go off. And all I did was
- 9:41Speaker 2: I was looking for that the closest exits. And I
- 9:42Speaker 2: know this sounds morbid, but I actually thought we could
- 9:45Speaker 2: die right here.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I thought it was I thought it was a bumber.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I thought it was a fire. Yeah. And then that's
- 9:49Speaker 1: when you see what Liam read on Twitter. Oh something
- 9:52Speaker 1: pretty sweary.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And it was just like basically, you'll get
- 9:55Speaker 2: what's coming to you. You fucking you drop the sea bomb.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He's like, you idiot. Why I was thinking you dropped
- 9:59Speaker 1: the sea bomb? So why would you do that at
- 10:01Speaker 1: a concert? You know?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Not not that, because he's like, ruined my concert. You could
- 10:03Speaker 2: kill people, like the fact that you know Nold Gallagher
- 10:06Speaker 2: looked very concerned. People are scattering, there's this orange fire
- 10:11Speaker 2: bursting out, smoke's going in the middle of the standing room,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and it would have been about honestly, I'd say, from
- 10:16Speaker 2: here to your car at the front yard.
- 10:18Speaker 1: For me, so it was like thirty meters from us.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It was we could smell the smoke from it. It was.
- 10:23Speaker 1: It was scary.
- 10:24Speaker 2: My sister's got a video of it, and it was
- 10:26Speaker 2: just like because she held up her phone and she
- 10:29Speaker 2: was filming the concert, not realizing she was filming this
- 10:30Speaker 2: because you don't even see it. She was like, Brendan,
- 10:32Speaker 2: why do you look scared? I was like, just hang on,
- 10:34Speaker 2: hang on. I was like, Okay, we're fine, it's going
- 10:37Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 10:38Speaker 1: A scared now. Yeah, but I was very scared for
- 10:39Speaker 1: a minute. Man.
- 10:40Speaker 2: It was it was you don't get many moment street
- 10:43Speaker 2: your life where you actually think, oh, this could be it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I actually thought what what came to me? I was like,
- 10:49Speaker 2: oh my god, the kids are at home. We're gonna
- 10:51Speaker 2: die in Marvel. That's what I'm thinking to my head.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It was scary. Man, fucking idiot sets off a flarer
- 10:56Speaker 2: a concert standing room just and throws it weak as anything. Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 2: throwing a flare into a credit Luckily nobody was hurt,
- 11:05Speaker 2: but man, that could have been a disaster. And my
- 11:08Speaker 2: big question is how the fuck did he get a
- 11:09Speaker 2: flare in the place. Yeah, that's what scared me the most.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, so he's walking if he's he's
- 11:14Speaker 2: had a flare on him for this entire duration, not good.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Halloween. I was scared.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I guess on Halloweens I got spooked. Yeah, but it
- 11:26Speaker 2: was my Oways's experience. Fantastic concert was really good. They're
- 11:29Speaker 2: just you know, they're just professionals.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Of course they are.
- 11:31Speaker 2: But yeah, that was a bit of a sad note
- 11:33Speaker 2: at the end as well. I thought, am I going
- 11:34Speaker 2: to die on.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This question? Here? With the Simpsons now a part of Fortnite,
- 11:41Speaker 1: can we get a guy versus Dando battle? I don't
- 11:44Speaker 1: know what that means.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I threw out on Facebook yesterday. I'm gonna have to
- 11:50Speaker 2: buy a Fortnite now to play this. And you're so old, Dando.
- 11:54Speaker 2: You don't buy Fortnite. It's free. You buy the packs
- 11:56Speaker 2: to play it. And I went, oh, I see what
- 11:58Speaker 2: you're saying, but you know you're still paying for it.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And Nicolas because Nicola goes So this guy thinks that
- 12:03Speaker 2: he's getting it for free, but he's still going to
- 12:06Speaker 2: pay for the skins.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, can you explaining Fortnite to me?
- 12:10Speaker 1: So Fortnite, I am actually not completely sure, but I'm
- 12:12Speaker 1: pretty sure Fortnite is it's a Hunger Games or what's
- 12:16Speaker 1: the Battle Royale with? Basically, it's just people on an
- 12:18Speaker 1: island last Man's Standing. So basically it's there's a map
- 12:22Speaker 1: and you get flown in, you drop into this map
- 12:24Speaker 1: and it's just a free for all and it's the
- 12:26Speaker 1: last Man's standing. So you're doing this in Springfield as
- 12:30Speaker 1: Simpson's characters. Interesting, okay, and they want to pick Daniel
- 12:36Speaker 1: against guys.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I think it'd be really fun for us, you and I.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I mean, I've got more of an understanding of games
- 12:41Speaker 2: and years indeed, would I would die very quickly. I'm
- 12:43Speaker 2: not good at shooting games and things like that. I
- 12:46Speaker 2: can play, you know, cricket games and platform games like
- 12:49Speaker 2: Crash Bandicoot. I don't play these Call of Duties and
- 12:53Speaker 2: Fortnites and.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Whatnot, right, I can play Reindier games.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So I feel like you and I should do it.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Because I think it'd be a lot of fun. Me
- 12:59Speaker 2: just like high and mos and trying to stalk you
- 13:01Speaker 2: and whatnot. I think it'd be good fun.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Okay, well we'll give if someone wants to shout of
- 13:05Speaker 1: some skins. Well, i've alread bought it.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I bought it last night. Oh okay, yeah, so it's
- 13:09Speaker 2: going to happen. It's happening.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yes, Well, there we go be stuper sexy Flanders. I've
- 13:15Speaker 1: said here, I am aware of the word fortnite, but
- 13:18Speaker 1: I had no idea what it entailed. Is it a
- 13:21Speaker 1: positive move that the Simpsons are involved in Fortnite? I
- 13:24Speaker 1: think it is.
- 13:24Speaker 2: They've already done Bob's Burgers and family going Key of
- 13:27Speaker 2: the Hill, I'm pretty sure, so it can only be
- 13:29Speaker 2: a positive for the Simpsons, and people are saying, oh,
- 13:31Speaker 2: the Simpsons the shit. I'm like, Fortnite wouldn't have an
- 13:34Speaker 2: entire Simpsons theme if the Simpsons was I feel that
- 13:38Speaker 2: the Simpsons is coming back and voting again. I really
- 13:40Speaker 2: feel like it's starting to sort of gain so momentum again.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I think, as I was saying my theory with them,
- 13:46Speaker 2: we're talking to very O'Leary, which I think the episode's
- 13:48Speaker 2: out yet. But my theory is that the people who
- 13:51Speaker 2: grew up with the Simpsons stopped watching the Simpsons, then
- 13:54Speaker 2: got older, had kids, and are retroducing the Simpsons to
- 13:57Speaker 2: their kids, and their kids are going, can we watch
- 13:58Speaker 2: the new ones too? And everyone's going, let's just watch
- 14:00Speaker 2: a new Simpsons again.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm not saying that the popularity of the full finger
- 14:04Speaker 1: discount network has got anything to do with this. I
- 14:08Speaker 1: am actually saying that, yeah, yeah, that's salmon to some money.
- 14:12Speaker 1: But yeah, I definitely have nothing. It'd be a lot
- 14:14Speaker 1: of fun even if it's terrible, Like, even if it
- 14:17Speaker 1: sh still be fun to watch, right, I'll probably be
- 14:19Speaker 1: like Elon Musk playing video games.
- 14:21Speaker 2: So next one here. You guys recently spoke about zombie
- 14:24Speaker 2: movies which Springfield location would make for the best hideout
- 14:28Speaker 2: in a zombie apocalypse.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Well, look, I'm a Share of the Dead fans, so
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to go with MOS because, like John
- 14:34Speaker 1: of the Dead Ends, I am what's what's about MOS?
- 14:36Speaker 1: It makes it safer for you though. It's got booze,
- 14:39Speaker 1: it's got snacks, it's got tunes as long as the
- 14:41Speaker 1: bombies can't get it. It's got amusements. I'm assument's got
- 14:45Speaker 1: it's got a pool table, right, yes, yes it does.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It's got a basement and let's not forget it's got
- 14:50Speaker 1: the dank, the dank. It's got the love test, the
- 14:52Speaker 1: love madic love madic Grandpa. Yeah, so you know, you
- 14:54Speaker 1: find out who your compatible with to you know, repopulate
- 14:57Speaker 1: the human race. Yeah, got all that stuff.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'm thinking more strategic. So I'm like, that's got a
- 15:03Speaker 2: lot of good stuff that you would want in there.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Probably the nuclear power plant. Would that be a It's
- 15:08Speaker 2: pretty big and lots of places to hide zombies get in.
- 15:11Speaker 2: It's like, well they're not can zombie? Can zombies climb
- 15:13Speaker 2: in this movie? That's the thing? Or they just like
- 15:15Speaker 2: what zombies will be talking about? We're talking about twenty
- 15:17Speaker 2: six days later? Classic Romero zombies are just shamble? Are
- 15:20Speaker 2: we talking about twenty eight days later?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Runners? Are we talking about World War Z where they
- 15:25Speaker 1: actually climb that big wall? Who knows? Like World War Z?
- 15:29Speaker 2: If the zombies were like that, you're fucked right, like
- 15:31Speaker 2: you can't. So there's so many many zam The powerlay
- 15:35Speaker 2: would be a good place, I think, just because there's
- 15:37Speaker 2: just so many places to hide and you can, like,
- 15:38Speaker 2: you know, use the nuclear waste against them, correct, Yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 2: burn their bodies and whatnot? Anything else any other places. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 2: I was just trying to think of the Aztec Theater. Now,
- 15:48Speaker 2: it wouldn't have got into there. No where to go,
- 15:50Speaker 2: no to escape. There's gotta be a place that has
- 15:51Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of exits. I think, because
- 15:53Speaker 2: they get you need to be able to It can't
- 15:55Speaker 2: be just be one exit and one entrance if they
- 15:57Speaker 2: get in where you're getting out. So I feel like,
- 16:00Speaker 2: you know, the power plant has a lot of difference, a.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Lot you thought about the upcoming zombie a boggle, It's
- 16:04Speaker 1: a lot. Also this Flanner's bomb shadow would be handy
- 16:07Speaker 1: as well. Of course, Yes, all right, next one here.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Al Jean recently announced he's leaving The Simpsons to work
- 16:14Speaker 1: on a new show, which many believe could be a
- 16:16Speaker 1: reboot of the critic What movies post two thousand would
- 16:19Speaker 1: you guys like to hear Jay Sherman review? I'm wondering
- 16:23Speaker 1: what you think Ja sherm would think of the mcum
- 16:26Speaker 1: or the Star Wars prequels, not the not the New One,
- 16:30Speaker 1: not Force Awakens, ilusial Ones, talking about, you know, Tack
- 16:33Speaker 1: of the Clones. What do you make of Jarge our binks?
- 16:36Speaker 1: I say, at Banks it rights itself. Guy surprised himself.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I surprised myself with that guy, and I hope you
- 16:48Speaker 1: were pleasantly surprised as well.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I think it's funny with Star Wars because we got
- 16:52Speaker 2: those sequels, people seem to look back fondly on the prequels.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yes, it's almost like it's like A gave the prequels
- 16:57Speaker 2: and out like it was, let's not as bad as
- 16:59Speaker 2: them to went, But I went back and revisited them,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and I went with best of intentions and I made
- 17:05Speaker 2: it's just boring. They're no good. No, no, there's a
- 17:08Speaker 2: good movie in those three. Yes, but there's too much filler.
- 17:12Speaker 1: There's too much shit. Oh yeah, too much weird stuff.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And now the wedsup is also good in a way
- 17:17Speaker 1: because I mean you look at Force Awakens, Last Yedi
- 17:19Speaker 1: and all that, and it's kind of like these are
- 17:21Speaker 1: very commercial, and particularly Force Awakens, whereas yeah, you look
- 17:25Speaker 1: at and a menacent Attack of the Clones and Avenge, like, yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 1: this came out of the brain of a weird individual.
- 17:32Speaker 1: One weird individual. It's one person's vision as opposed to
- 17:35Speaker 1: what do you think Disney focus group. Yeah, that kind
- 17:39Speaker 1: of thing.
- 17:39Speaker 2: And I'm recently watching the Light and Magic documentary. Oh
- 17:42Speaker 2: Jesney Place, it's great.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I've heard it's very very good.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yes, I many two episodes in, but it's interesting. I
- 17:48Speaker 2: tested the Phantom Menace of Elliot. So he'sn't even watched
- 17:50Speaker 2: New Hope, right, and I put Phantom Menace on someone.
- 17:52Speaker 2: This isn't gonna spoil anything. That it's a prequel, you
- 17:53Speaker 2: won't really know what's going on. I wanted to suttest
- 17:55Speaker 2: what his thoughts were on the prequel, not knowing it's
- 17:58Speaker 2: Star Wars, right. I didn't tell them with Star Wars.
- 18:00Speaker 2: So I put it on and I skipped the opening
- 18:02Speaker 2: croak and he'd know what Star Wars. And put it
- 18:04Speaker 2: on and he goes, oh, that's what they're using Star Wars.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I was using Lightsabers, and yeah, yeah's the same kind
- 18:08Speaker 2: of thing. He's watching it. He's watching it. He's watching it,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and I'm seeing as long as getting bored. He turns
- 18:13Speaker 2: me and he goes, can we just watch Star Wars?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yes?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Okay, So these movies don't feel like Star Wars. I'm like,
- 18:21Speaker 2: when I remember when I was a kid, I had
- 18:23Speaker 2: the same thing. I remember sitting there going, this doesn't
- 18:25Speaker 2: feel like Star Wars.
- 18:26Speaker 1: No, it feels like taxation on trips. This is old
- 18:29Speaker 1: man talking about stuff that I don't understand. Yeah, or
- 18:32Speaker 1: young child going, you be how or let's try spinning.
- 18:36Speaker 1: That's a neat trick.
- 18:37Speaker 2: The pod racing pod raising is great. It was great, right,
- 18:40Speaker 2: so you get the pod racing aspect. Get something from
- 18:43Speaker 2: attack raising.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Duel between Qui Gon and Obi Wan and Dart Mall
- 18:48Speaker 1: yeah pretty good.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and the what's the music called duel? Fantastic? Yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 2: probably the best thing from the entire prequel. John Williams cooking,
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yes he is, indeed, so the prequels get a lot
- 18:59Speaker 2: of love now compared to when they originally came out.
- 19:02Speaker 2: The MCU, I think, is at a point now where
- 19:04Speaker 2: people are ready to mock it. Yes, I think people
- 19:07Speaker 2: wouldn't daren mock it when it was at its peak,
- 19:09Speaker 2: it was like, no, it's making so much money. Everyone
- 19:11Speaker 2: loves this. I think it's just it's been watered down
- 19:14Speaker 2: and overstated. It's wuggling to the point where now I
- 19:15Speaker 2: feel Jay Sherman would have a ball. That's just taking
- 19:18Speaker 2: the mickey out of it. We're not taking out of
- 19:20Speaker 2: the original MCU, but what it's become.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yes, post endgame.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, But what kind of other films do you think
- 19:27Speaker 2: he would like to post two thousand?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Jay Sherman, what do you mean, what do you think
- 19:32Speaker 1: you'd like or what do you think you'd like to
- 19:35Speaker 1: Teta shreds Scared, like disaster movie, just scared, the scary movies,
- 19:40Speaker 1: those kind of movies. Oh yeah, like you'd hate like
- 19:43Speaker 1: epic movie. Yeah, yeah, terrible. Yeah, what about just the
- 19:46Speaker 1: disaster movies in general at the day or tomorrow?
- 19:48Speaker 2: And no, I think he might have a bit of appreciation.
- 19:51Speaker 2: But we don't get many disaster movies anymore though, do
- 19:53Speaker 2: we No?
- 19:54Speaker 1: Because we're living in one the films quickly that Jay
- 20:01Speaker 1: Sherman would like to Who got to see Jay Sherman interview? Oh?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Good question. I feel like he'd be really funny interviewing Sweeney.
- 20:09Speaker 2: What's her name, Sydney Sweeney. I feel like him interviewing
- 20:12Speaker 2: Sidney Sweeny would be kind of did you see her
- 20:17Speaker 2: wearing her shower curtain the other day?
- 20:21Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna say anything. But someone made a meme
- 20:23Speaker 1: saying she's wearing her her oxygen tent to give her
- 20:26Speaker 1: sexual powers. Sid what are your thoughts on the critic reboot?
- 20:33Speaker 1: Interesting given that you know, the critic seems to be
- 20:36Speaker 1: the thing of the past. I mean, it'd be interesting
- 20:37Speaker 1: if he was sort of, you know, bumping up against influences.
- 20:40Speaker 2: It's true, yeah, because the critics don't really exist anymore,
- 20:43Speaker 2: do they.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah. I caught up with a good friend of mine
- 20:45Speaker 1: last night who works as a entertainment writer in the States.
- 20:51Speaker 1: She was out on a job. Yeah, we wastically just
- 20:53Speaker 1: spent the whole meal and now time together just like
- 20:57Speaker 1: there's no jobs, the whole way of life is ending.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Basically, do a podcast with the real life Jay Sherman
- 21:02Speaker 2: and Malton. I did mention that, yeah, and she was
- 21:04Speaker 2: very impressed. So yeah, good good times we had.
- 21:09Speaker 1: But yeah, there was a lot of talk of like,
- 21:12Speaker 1: all these influences are coming along to you know, junkets
- 21:15Speaker 1: and interviews, and they don't know a damn thing. What's
- 21:18Speaker 1: his name from the bear? What's his name?
- 21:20Speaker 2: That was in the past four even when he walked
- 21:23Speaker 2: and said hello, influences, influences, what a legend. Right, that's
- 21:28Speaker 2: not the best takedown ever. You just tell deep down
- 21:32Speaker 2: he fucking hates them. Oh yeah, yeah, he would have
- 21:34Speaker 2: no time for that ship. I feel like he's the
- 21:35Speaker 2: kind of guy that would really respect like a Lendon
- 21:37Speaker 2: Moulton respect that the old the old, the old guard. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 2: ones who genuine respects.
- 21:44Speaker 1: For questions, you know, not sort of questions actually oh
- 21:47Speaker 1: you're a daddy, or you don't just want to go
- 21:49Speaker 1: look at them, look at look where I am, look
- 21:52Speaker 1: at you, and also making I'm asking you a gotcha
- 21:55Speaker 1: question for the clip that's going to go.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, genuine questions, genuine thought, genuine Yeah, everything
- 22:01Speaker 2: just genuine. That's old school Dano, Yes, take me back,
- 22:06Speaker 2: but yeah, a critic reab. I think it'll be interesting
- 22:08Speaker 2: to see what how Jay Sherman is just surviving in
- 22:13Speaker 2: twenty twenty five.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That's thinking you'd have a substack. Probably he probably had
- 22:16Speaker 1: a YouTube channel.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Like, yeah, yes, he would a YouTube channel. This show
- 22:23Speaker 2: is brought to you by the four Finger Discount Patreon,

- 22:49Speaker 2: animated movie? That is an open question.
- 22:52Speaker 1: It isn't it?
- 22:52Speaker 2: You go first? My favorite animated movie of all time? Okay,
- 22:57Speaker 2: so not only think it's the best movie, but can
- 23:00Speaker 2: I say that Space Jam is an animated movie. It's
- 23:03Speaker 2: got animation in it. Sure, I'm not going to say.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna say Space Jam is one of my answers.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna come at to you with another fully animated
- 23:09Speaker 2: what's your answer for?
- 23:10Speaker 1: I've got a few. I love Bradbirds stuff, Yeah, Giant,
- 23:14Speaker 1: the Giant, Ratatu and particularly the Incredible Is Incredibles too
- 23:17Speaker 1: is so good, so fantastic, the best Fantastic Four movie
- 23:20Speaker 1: ever made? So I love those fantastic Mister Fox by
- 23:25Speaker 1: Wes Anderson is stop motion animation. That counts, of course
- 23:28Speaker 1: it does. That's indeed, And most recently there's a movie
- 23:31Speaker 1: I love called Flow, which is now available on physical media.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Go buy it. Cat It is that it's cat capa beera,
- 23:39Speaker 1: a dog, and I think a lemur and maybe and
- 23:42Speaker 1: a bird, and they're on a barge floating through this
- 23:46Speaker 1: sort of semi submerged world like there's been maybe like
- 23:50Speaker 1: a natural disaster or a climate change or something, and
- 23:52Speaker 1: all these animals have to look out for one another.
- 23:54Speaker 1: It is beautiful, Okay, I adore it there, pix. I
- 23:59Speaker 1: do a lot of good shorts that are great. They do.
- 24:02Speaker 1: There's one I like the one about the Ugly Volcano
- 24:05Speaker 1: Finding Love. That's the fucking what I was there to
- 24:06Speaker 1: tell you about. Yeah, how good is it? That's great?
- 24:09Speaker 1: Holyh you cry when you watch it. Absolutely, that ugly
- 24:12Speaker 1: volcano I Found Love. I'm so glad that you fucking
- 24:14Speaker 1: said that one.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know what it's. Corby's about volcanoes
- 24:17Speaker 2: that goes under the water. He's trying to find his
- 24:18Speaker 2: girlfriend and he's so good.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah. There's another good one called Paperman. Have you ever
- 24:22Speaker 1: seen No? It's sort of yeah. I think it's black
- 24:24Speaker 1: and white. It's sort of like this guy's it's gonna
- 24:27Speaker 1: sound weird, but it's like his heart sort of blows
- 24:31Speaker 1: out of his body. But in the former, like a
- 24:33Speaker 1: paper airplane or a little paper heart or something, and
- 24:35Speaker 1: he's sort of chasing it all over town. It's I
- 24:39Speaker 1: think i'm remember correctly, but it was really good. I
- 24:40Speaker 1: enjoyed that one. Paper Man.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Okay, there's one where a guy I'm pretty sure he
- 24:45Speaker 2: doesn't speak. I think there's no talking at all. But
- 24:47Speaker 2: it's about a guy who clearly has a child who
- 24:51Speaker 2: is differently abled.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Okay, I've you seen no one.
- 24:52Speaker 2: He's pushing on the swing and I think at one
- 24:54Speaker 2: point he just screams, why aren't you normal or something
- 24:56Speaker 2: like that, and it's like, it's such a sweet story
- 24:59Speaker 2: where it's it's showing the heartache and the stress and
- 25:03Speaker 2: the pressures that these parents go through, not because of
- 25:05Speaker 2: the difficulties of having to just you know, parent.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Parents parents show, but also parenting.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Plus it's also the perception of worrying about what others
- 25:14Speaker 2: think and realizing you've got to stop caring about others things,
- 25:17Speaker 2: worried about what your child thinks. And he said, yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 2: it's a beautiful story coming up with that. One's called
- 25:20Speaker 2: but that's worth watching as well. There are a lot
- 25:22Speaker 2: of actually good animated movies in recent times that I
- 25:26Speaker 2: probably wouldn't have watched if I didn't have kids. Luca
- 25:29Speaker 2: is one, for example, great movie Luca Strange, who Strange
- 25:36Speaker 2: World Strange, No, no strange, well no, no, no, sorry, the one
- 25:39Speaker 2: that has They're all purple set mystical times. Oh god hoo,
- 25:44Speaker 2: the purple movie recent Pixar films. It's got and it's
- 25:49Speaker 2: got Chris Chris Pratt obviously is it like you? No, no,
- 25:52Speaker 2: not like you Evans Chris Pratt, And Who's doa? It's
- 25:56Speaker 2: onward Onward.
- 25:57Speaker 1: That's the one. Really good.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Julie The Drivers is the Mom I believe Chris Pratt
- 26:00Speaker 2: and Tom Tom holand com holand yeah, I've Got Around.
- 26:04Speaker 2: That's a really good movie as well. Basically, it's just, yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 2: this guy who's trying to bring his he's never met
- 26:08Speaker 2: his dad. His dad pass away when he was younger,
- 26:10Speaker 2: so he was basically raised by his brother and his mum,
- 26:12Speaker 2: and then they create this spell to bring his dad
- 26:15Speaker 2: back to life. But something happens halfway through, so it's
- 26:17Speaker 2: only his legs and they've only got till sundown to
- 26:20Speaker 2: make the rest of his body arrive, and it's just
- 26:22Speaker 2: only spoiled what happens. But it's it's great on is
- 26:25Speaker 2: worth watching as well. It's not my favorite, but for
- 26:28Speaker 2: me overall, Space Jam is one that always sticks out
- 26:30Speaker 2: for me. The next question here says cricket season has
- 26:32Speaker 2: started in Australia. Do you think the Simpsons should do
- 26:35Speaker 2: a cricket episode because the Blue one is fantastic and
- 26:38Speaker 2: my kids love it. I'm gonna let Dando field this
- 26:41Speaker 2: question while I take a nap. Well, I think you
- 26:43Speaker 2: really need to have a nap. I feel like the
- 26:45Speaker 2: Simpsons could do us a cricket episode that appeals to
- 26:48Speaker 2: people who don't watch cricket, people who do love cricket.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Simpsons do so well. I think the story could be that,
- 26:53Speaker 2: you know, maybe Homer is trying to learn how by
- 26:56Speaker 2: trying to learn how to play cricket.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Well, yes, because I discovered that it is one of
- 26:59Speaker 1: them probably sports in the world. There's a word side
- 27:03Speaker 1: of America and it ties into a question that we
- 27:07Speaker 1: were also another question we were asked by someone else
- 27:10Speaker 1: about the possibility of returning our pooge with the Simpsons. Yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 1: given his Indian background, yes he could be.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Like the question someone wrote it in saying now who
- 27:22Speaker 2: returns sort of in the treuse of horror. How would
- 27:25Speaker 2: we genuinely reintroduce.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Him back in? Yes, so a bit of a double
- 27:30Speaker 1: whammy in terms of you have a cricket episode and
- 27:33Speaker 1: you have who teaches them how to play cricket or
- 27:36Speaker 1: becomes like a cricket mogul in America. It's like, all right,
- 27:41Speaker 1: we've we've brought soccer to America. Now it's time to
- 27:44Speaker 1: introduce cricket. And you know, we got all these people
- 27:46Speaker 1: who like baseball or whatever. It's like you're trying to
- 27:49Speaker 1: teach us here. Yeah. I think it's a good way,
- 27:51Speaker 1: actually a really good idea. All right, well when we
- 27:53Speaker 1: speak to our pal al Jean, which you're going to
- 27:55Speaker 1: be doing soon. Too bad? He just left the sipisens.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Oh has he? Oh he's taken a break from Simptons
- 28:00Speaker 1: to do his news thing. Oh okay, of course.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I thought he was doing double someone on speed. It's
- 28:07Speaker 2: okayo cricket. There's no reason not to do that. That
- 28:12Speaker 2: would be fantastic, right, I think. So, Well, here's the thing,
- 28:14Speaker 2: because you're dinn't get a genuine India and Indian voice
- 28:16Speaker 2: acted to come in it make it a big bang.
- 28:18Speaker 2: So many Indian viewers like people in India would love
- 28:21Speaker 2: that episode.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Because well, Disney Plus in India is paid with is
- 28:26Speaker 1: it hot Star? I'm not sure, but it's it's like
- 28:28Speaker 1: apparently the only way that you can sort of watch
- 28:30Speaker 1: cricket in India by Disney Plus. Can you imagine the
- 28:33Speaker 1: popular the publicity.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Again the crossover. Pooh has returned his new voice actor.
- 28:38Speaker 2: It's in India. It's let's make this happen.
- 28:41Speaker 1: The other week I mentioned the project that I was
- 28:43Speaker 1: working and I said, copyright sart. Okay, so he's saying
- 28:46Speaker 1: copyright Salmon. So we're watching you. We're watching you. I'm
- 28:50Speaker 1: watching my camera. And also that.
- 28:52Speaker 2: One, bring a poo back, have a have a cricket episode,
- 28:57Speaker 2: send us the paycheck.
- 28:58Speaker 1: We we want a piece of the action. We'll write
- 29:00Speaker 1: it for you. Yeah, man, there we go. We just
- 29:03Speaker 1: joined us and then and then you can rewrite it
- 29:05Speaker 1: and we'll do the first drap. But that's what I
- 29:07Speaker 1: think it would actually work. Yeah, yeah, but cricket. I
- 29:11Speaker 1: don't find cricket that interesting. That's but for a paycheck.
- 29:15Speaker 1: If there's a steady paycheck, and I'll write I'll like
- 29:17Speaker 1: anything you see. Fine.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Fact, So I videotaped Elliott. He bowls created balls all
- 29:24Speaker 2: the time at the school. Basically sets up his biggest
- 29:26Speaker 2: in the backyard, bowls creey ball, knocks him over, go
- 29:28Speaker 2: set him up, goes back, bowls him again. I usually
- 29:31Speaker 2: bat for him, like I'll bat, but if I can't
- 29:33Speaker 2: bother batting, he just bowls by himself. I'll put it
- 29:35Speaker 2: out on Twitter and I wrote the following and I said,
- 29:37Speaker 2: proud dad moment. My seven year old spends hours at
- 29:39Speaker 2: the school each day practicing his cricket bowling technique. When
- 29:42Speaker 2: I can't bat, he simply bowls at the stump, steps
- 29:44Speaker 2: him back up and goes again. And I wrote, Hey,
- 29:46Speaker 2: at Beastie Woo seven, who is my man?
- 29:47Speaker 1: Barrett? The commentator on is the Indian?
- 29:49Speaker 2: He's like the he's like the Indian commentator for Australia. Oh,
- 29:52Speaker 2: he's like, ow what do you call him? He's the
- 29:54Speaker 2: Indian rep.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Was there an episode of like Australian Story about him? Well?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Probably yes, yeah, yeah, he's ABC, yeah, ABC Sports. He's
- 30:02Speaker 2: everywhere right and he's coming on the show.
- 30:04Speaker 1: So I tagged you.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I said, Elliot Danner, remember that name? And he retweeted
- 30:09Speaker 2: it that video onto his one hundred thousand plus followers,
- 30:12Speaker 2: and he said, love this so much for finger Pod
- 30:15Speaker 2: already marking that name down Elliot Dando future superstar. Love
- 30:17Speaker 2: his passion. And then he followed us and I was like, hey,
- 30:20Speaker 2: do you want to come on the show, and he's like, cool,
- 30:22Speaker 2: let's do it.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So he's gonna be coming on the podcast. This is
- 30:26Speaker 1: all working out, Yeah, it is indeed. Yeah, so now
- 30:29Speaker 1: we're gonna have come up with something bet cricket.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Well, maybe we can pitch that idea to it. I
- 30:32Speaker 2: think so maybe he could be the voice of a poop.
- 30:38Speaker 1: We're moving into being agents as well. Anyway, Yeah, that
- 30:40Speaker 1: would be a great episode. Who as the as the said,
- 30:44Speaker 1: the mogul of cricket in America. That would be cool.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And then he maybe he.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Puts together he puts together a rag tag See this
- 30:50Speaker 2: is the thing is how you get the biggest names.
- 30:51Speaker 2: So you get the biggest names in Critolod, Veric Coley
- 30:53Speaker 2: and whatnot. Right, he gets a rag tag team of
- 30:56Speaker 2: cricketers put together and they're going they to it India.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Who takes them to India to meet his the team
- 31:01Speaker 2: he used to play with when he was younger?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Correct?
- 31:03Speaker 2: And then you introduce all the various big cricker starts
- 31:06Speaker 2: of the world in the IPL mate right itself. So
- 31:09Speaker 2: many viewers for the episode A couple we haven't done
- 31:12Speaker 2: it already. Anyway, when that does happen, we want all
- 31:14Speaker 2: the credit.
- 31:14Speaker 1: As we said, A couple more questions here and we
- 31:16Speaker 1: will wrap this one up. This is a good question.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I like this.
- 31:19Speaker 2: One person said, what is your idea of Friday night
- 31:23Speaker 2: three hour block of TV? What shows and why? Okay,
- 31:27Speaker 2: then so Friday Night just it's it's no no, let's go.
- 31:31Speaker 2: What year we picking Friday Night? I first A young
- 31:35Speaker 2: years been in the stoge.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think so. Yeah, Friday Night.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I'm going to say two thousand and one. For me,
- 31:41Speaker 2: Friday Night one.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I'm going to say mid to late eighties, eighty five
- 31:46Speaker 1: or eighty six. That's your peak. Friday night pizza has
- 31:49Speaker 1: just been delivered, bottle of pepsi, pizza cold, pretty much
- 31:54Speaker 1: a couple of a couple of drum sticks in the
- 31:56Speaker 1: in the freezer as in ice creams. Feel He's like,
- 32:01Speaker 1: what are you or a cornetto Yes. Indeed, Now my
- 32:04Speaker 1: first answer to this kind of messes with the timeline
- 32:06Speaker 1: because it didn't come out until the either late nineties
- 32:08Speaker 1: or early two thousands, but.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Ninety four then because then you can corporate shows. Early
- 32:13Speaker 2: nineties there.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Three hour block. I want the entire first season of
- 32:16Speaker 1: a show called Garth Maringhi's Dark Place. Have you ever
- 32:18Speaker 1: heard of this? The entire first season. It's an English show,
- 32:21Speaker 1: six episodes half an hour each. That's three Well there's
- 32:24Speaker 1: your three hour block. That's three hours. That's what I'm saying. Oh,
- 32:26Speaker 1: that's all you did watch? Yeah, I'd watch the whole season.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Only made one season. It's one of the funniest shows ever.
- 32:32Speaker 1: What's it good? Garth Maringhi's Dark Place. He's like, he's
- 32:35Speaker 1: like the Stephen King knockoff from England and he's like,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I wrote, directed, and starred in this show that was
- 32:41Speaker 1: so crazy that the network wouldn't show it, but now
- 32:44Speaker 1: they're going to have to. And it's like this terrible
- 32:49Speaker 1: supernatural thriller made for like five cents, set in a hospital.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's it's on YouTube. You can find it all on
- 32:56Speaker 1: YouTube by a physical copy if you can, though, because
- 32:58Speaker 1: it deserves to be supported. But it's so funny and
- 33:01Speaker 1: I would happily just watch that for three hours on
- 33:04Speaker 1: a Friday night, or if we're going back to nineteen
- 33:06Speaker 1: eighty five, it's been ninety four and he's getting shows
- 33:09Speaker 1: for I realize that is great, or because it's the
- 33:12Speaker 1: garth RINGIY Darklaight the show with the show does feel
- 33:15Speaker 1: like it was made in like nineteen eighty five, or
- 33:18Speaker 1: it's not ninety five? Got my caprichosa? No anchovies? Do
- 33:23Speaker 1: we have coke zero on that diet coke maps? Ye die?
- 33:26Speaker 1: Because I've got swimsuit season and I'm settling on the
- 33:30Speaker 1: couch to watch. We're starting with a block of two
- 33:35Speaker 1: half hour sitcoms, episode of Golden Girls, episode of Cheers,
- 33:40Speaker 1: followed by an episode of either Moonlighting or Miami Bise,
- 33:44Speaker 1: and dropping it off with a repeat of one of
- 33:48Speaker 1: my favorite private eye shows from the nineteen seventies, The
- 33:51Speaker 1: Rockford Files. What is the Rofford Files about? He's just
- 33:55Speaker 1: this sort of low rent private eye who who is
- 34:01Speaker 1: good and noble, but I can't really catch a break.
- 34:03Speaker 1: So you've got sitcoms in there. You've got got sitcom
- 34:06Speaker 1: I've got a romantic comedy or a hard hitting cop
- 34:08Speaker 1: show and a po show that's just you know, got
- 34:12Speaker 1: that great sort of lived in seventies and beyond.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I feel like I'm very My early years were very
- 34:17Speaker 2: much sick comedy based. So I'm going to go with
- 34:20Speaker 2: I'm going to pick a Simpsons around since it was
- 34:22Speaker 2: like Springfield File or something that one of my favorite episodes.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I'm going to throw an episode of two Guys Are
- 34:28Speaker 2: Going a Pizza Place. I've always loved that show. You know,
- 34:30Speaker 2: you just have that shows he just loves just always
- 34:33Speaker 2: loved them. The Nanny, I've always loved them Nanny, Third
- 34:35Speaker 2: Off from the Sun, the show that I feel like
- 34:36Speaker 2: it doesn't get enough support. I think, what's his name?
- 34:39Speaker 2: While Dick solon, what's his name?
- 34:40Speaker 1: John? Fuck?
- 34:42Speaker 2: He's great in that show, earlier show Joseph Gottlevit as well,
- 34:46Speaker 2: So the third Rock, The Nanny, two Guys going to
- 34:49Speaker 2: Pizza Place? A Simpsons probably gonna throw a sign felt in.
- 34:52Speaker 1: There as well.
- 34:53Speaker 2: And what would be one last sitcom to round out
- 34:56Speaker 2: the three hour block of just sitcom goodness. I'm not
- 35:01Speaker 2: gonna say friends, I'm gonna say the Drew Carey Show.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Oh okay, wow, He's just keep on coming. That's a
- 35:08Speaker 1: positive line up.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I remember when I was a kid, it was like
- 35:11Speaker 2: sitcoms all night, and I was like, I'm set.
- 35:13Speaker 1: That's all I need.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I just need the sitcoms man. And there's an ad
- 35:17Speaker 2: for a sitcom at the moment that always pops up
- 35:19Speaker 2: on HBO Max. It's like some hillbilly guy and he's
- 35:21Speaker 2: got like a hot wife. I don't it always pops
- 35:24Speaker 2: up with watching HBO Max. I think it's starting at
- 35:26Speaker 2: second season or something, but you can just tell it's
- 35:28Speaker 2: one of those shows that's just filmed and then they
- 35:29Speaker 2: not in front of an audience and there's add in
- 35:31Speaker 2: the can laughter. I'm like, I'm because Alice's been watching
- 35:34Speaker 2: Fresh Prints and by season five, it's almost like they've
- 35:37Speaker 2: just broken the fourth wall and they often go into
- 35:40Speaker 2: the audience and they're like interacting with the audience, given
- 35:41Speaker 2: high five and go back into the show. It's like
- 35:43Speaker 2: the show's just experimental at this point, right, But I'm like,
- 35:46Speaker 2: I miss that element of people been going and watching
- 35:49Speaker 2: this show, Like they need to bring that back where
- 35:52Speaker 2: people can go to the studio and watch. Yeah, I
- 35:54Speaker 2: know you and ever a fan of sitcoms are oh,
- 35:56Speaker 2: I like I'm fine, Yeah, I lot if there was
- 35:59Speaker 2: a sitcom that filmed in we can just go watch
- 36:00Speaker 2: the last episode of the sitcom.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I feel we're missing that the kink. Okay, well, once
- 36:05Speaker 1: we cash in from this cricket the Simpsons that we're
- 36:08Speaker 1: we will will take that and we'll use of the
- 36:10Speaker 1: seed money to start around. Yeah, so I'd have a
- 36:11Speaker 1: Friday night Surreyama and Ed Cavill yes from Raileary because
- 36:16Speaker 1: why not?
- 36:17Speaker 2: And and Daniel Connell. Did either of you guys see?
- 36:20Speaker 2: This year's World Series Game seven was one of the
- 36:22Speaker 2: greatest games of all time. Even if you're not a
- 36:24Speaker 2: baseball fan, I recommend checking out the highlights. It was
- 36:26Speaker 2: like watching a movie.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I'm hearing a lot about it, and whoever asked this
- 36:29Speaker 1: question is really selling it. Yeah.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I watched the highlights Game seven and it was a
- 36:34Speaker 2: fucking movie.
- 36:34Speaker 1: It was incredible.
- 36:36Speaker 2: So you got so incredible that so you got ali
- 36:39Speaker 2: Dodgers are going for the first back to back title
- 36:41Speaker 2: win in like twenty five years.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Wow.
- 36:43Speaker 2: They're playing the Toronto Blue Jays, right, who haven't won
- 36:46Speaker 2: a title in thirty plus years. So it's the underdog
- 36:48Speaker 2: versus the reigning champ. R raining Champ has gone to
- 36:51Speaker 2: the underdog's home ground. It has nine innings in a
- 36:55Speaker 2: baseball game. Yes, you just get on top.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Four to two.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Blue Jays then fuck up and they like they let
- 37:02Speaker 2: the Dodgers catch up. It's four to four, ninth innings.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Tell me more. Bases are loaded. What it's the home ground.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Bases are loaded. The guy smacks it, it's going home.
- 37:13Speaker 1: It's going home to La Dodgers. Guys collide on on
- 37:17Speaker 1: the fence. One of them fucking catches the ball. We're
- 37:19Speaker 1: going into extra innings. I won't tell what happens after that.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to get on YouTube. Literally, two guys
- 37:25Speaker 1: are going for the ball, don't see each other. One
- 37:27Speaker 1: gets fucking absolutely polite, puts it, just catches it. Just
- 37:31Speaker 1: he's out. Bases were loaded. They would have won the
- 37:33Speaker 1: game if he hadn't caught it. But he caught it.
- 37:35Speaker 1: We're going into extra innings. Love it. It's unbelievable. That's great.
- 37:41Speaker 1: It's so good. It's honestly seeing these guys and he
- 37:45Speaker 1: just puts his arm up, this hopeless and this lands
- 37:47Speaker 1: in his glass. Cricket, if you I can show you
- 37:51Speaker 1: a cricket game that I feel like, if you just
- 37:53Speaker 1: watched the highlights real because you don't want watch the
- 37:54Speaker 1: long drawn out version of it, just the highlights reel
- 37:57Speaker 1: of the cricket fans out there. It is the boxing
- 38:00Speaker 1: day test from last year. Day five. All INDI had
- 38:04Speaker 1: to do just stay in called a drawer. Australia, you
- 38:06Speaker 1: can't win the series because they were just ending to
- 38:08Speaker 1: draw the series, right, and then there's plane. It's blocking
- 38:11Speaker 1: and block and blocking, and then one Indian.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Guy just goes, ah, fuck it and he tries to
- 38:15Speaker 2: hit a six and he hits a catch and then
- 38:17Speaker 2: all of a sudden they're just like, okay, there they're
- 38:20Speaker 2: five out. And then the guy comes in and just
- 38:22Speaker 2: like mix it straight away for like two runs, and
- 38:24Speaker 2: you get to it and it's like now there's six out,
- 38:26Speaker 2: and all of a sudden, Australia is like we can
- 38:28Speaker 2: get it. And I won't tell you what happens next,
- 38:30Speaker 2: but it's like in the space of ninety minutes, it's
- 38:32Speaker 2: such tease. But the thing is I was there with
- 38:34Speaker 2: Elliott and I remember at that moment, I'm going we
- 38:37Speaker 2: can still win this. I go on, Elliott, we're not
- 38:39Speaker 2: gonna win it. May I said, They're just playing for
- 38:40Speaker 2: a drawer. It's just I mean, just let's just enjoy
- 38:42Speaker 2: being here. And then one goes out. He looks at
- 38:44Speaker 2: me and he goes you were saying. I was like, mate,
- 38:47Speaker 2: there's still five to get. There's only like ninety minutes left.
- 38:49Speaker 2: That's not gonna happen. And another one gets out and
- 38:50Speaker 2: he's just like, I told you there's a chance, and
- 38:53Speaker 2: I was like, there's actually a funny chance. And then
- 38:55Speaker 2: and then as each wicket dropped, it was like it
- 38:58Speaker 2: was like theater, mate. So if you understand the rule,
- 39:00Speaker 2: it was incredible. Day five of the Boxing Day Test
- 39:04Speaker 2: last year, look at up Australia versus India at the mcg.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Well to call it the monkeys. I'm a believer, but
- 39:10Speaker 1: that Game seven though, Fuck me holy, I'll check that out.
- 39:13Speaker 2: That was unbelievable. This show is brought to you by

- 39:42Speaker 2: episode do you guys consider underrated? I love How Much
- 39:44Speaker 2: Love Guy gives you Old Money. It truly is a
- 39:46Speaker 2: beautiful story, and I completely agree.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Do you have an underrated episode that you enjoy?
- 39:50Speaker 2: And I'm going to say Principal Charming from season two?
- 39:53Speaker 2: That is the one where they're trying to set up
- 39:55Speaker 2: Principal Skinner with Selma because she's looking for love as
- 39:59Speaker 2: always faces for Patty, and it's just really nice seeing Patty.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Yeah try to it's what she feels. She feels something
- 40:07Speaker 2: for this guy, but it's almost like she's Patty as well.
- 40:08Speaker 2: She's very closed off. Yeah, she's closed off, she's shut down.
- 40:12Speaker 2: She doesn't like to sort of show affection. But Principal
- 40:14Speaker 2: Skinner has been infatuated with Patty. It's just a really
- 40:17Speaker 2: nice Principal Skinner story as well.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Okay, I am going to go with like Father, like Clown. Yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 1: do you think this is underrated or proper? I don't
- 40:26Speaker 1: think anything from season three, Hugh, isn't it? Yeah? I
- 40:28Speaker 1: was gonna say any of them see the first two seasons.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I feels underrated, But like Father, like clown.
- 40:32Speaker 2: It's definitely remembered, but I was still called I still
- 40:36Speaker 2: got underrated for sure. Like that that ending with when
- 40:39Speaker 2: his dad comes out, Oh my Papa, I think.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I think he turns in. He says, I haven't seen
- 40:43Speaker 1: my dad for like so many years or whatever five years. Yeah,
- 40:47Speaker 1: and then he gets and then Chezy gets a pie
- 40:48Speaker 1: in the face old man. At the end, Yeah, lovely,
- 40:50Speaker 1: and the voice the voice of Jackie Mason. Yeah, I
- 40:53Speaker 1: have no son, great wee came on his way? Is
- 40:55Speaker 1: the wrong guy? I didn't mean that literally, also referring
- 40:59Speaker 1: to Sammy David the candy Man. Yeah, yes, indeed, to
- 41:02Speaker 1: quote the episode, the Jews are truly a swinging bunch
- 41:05Speaker 1: of people. Yeah, I love I love like father, like Landel.
- 41:08Speaker 1: That was very funny. Was that the episode that Brad
- 41:10Speaker 1: Bird edited? Okay, it says directed by such and such
- 41:15Speaker 1: with brad Bird, I'm pretty was the last episode brad
- 41:18Speaker 1: Bird worked on, Give me such and such because he
- 41:20Speaker 1: left the Simpsons pretty early. He did across the episode
- 41:22Speaker 1: which crossed the brad Bird well, his name's on this one.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Absolutely as a co director. What a tie in there?
- 41:28Speaker 1: We it came full circle or yeah, we did well.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Eight five theory of this of this before we go there,
- 41:35Speaker 2: we're going to be a bit of a tease. We're
- 41:37Speaker 2: holding in our hands right now. The original nineteen eighty
- 41:39Speaker 2: three Chili. My man Lee Cooman. Now, I may have
- 41:41Speaker 2: mentioned on the podcast before, how when I quit my
- 41:44Speaker 2: job to start doing this podcast full time. My old
- 41:46Speaker 2: boss from the local radio station, Chaok, who moved the
- 41:48Speaker 2: trip Lam and Sydney. He's like, guess what I just did.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I justn't quit my job as well. And I was like,
- 41:51Speaker 2: we quit jobs together, and he quit to do this
- 41:54Speaker 2: as well. So he started this business, the original nineteen
- 41:56Speaker 2: eighty three chili, and he was telling me that he
- 41:58Speaker 2: sold like nearly one hundred thousands already. He's booming at
- 42:01Speaker 2: the moment, and it's for good reason because it's fucking delicious.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Well, I haven't had any yet, but I almost don't
- 42:06Speaker 1: want to open this botle because it looks so cool.
- 42:08Speaker 1: That's the good thing is that the packaging is pretty
- 42:10Speaker 1: cool and it's fantastic. It's a nice glass jar. I'm
- 42:12Speaker 1: going to we're gonna be doing a taste test. There's
- 42:14Speaker 1: an old lady on the top of the jo Yeah.
- 42:17Speaker 1: DC Cartail the call the visional nine to eighty three
- 42:20Speaker 1: is the blend here, it looks fantastic. What what would
