• 0:14
Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
• 0:21
Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
• 0:27
Speaker 1: you're on presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff.

• 0:54
Speaker 2: What's happening? What's happening? I think this is the first
• 0:58
Speaker 2: show post the live show in New York. We're back
• 1:01
Speaker 2: in Los Angeles. We had a ball, We had the
• 1:04
Speaker 2: time of our lives. If you weren't there, that's something
• 1:07
Speaker 2: you will just kind of regret for the rest of
• 1:09
Speaker 2: your life. That will haunt you. And I hope it does.
• 1:12
Speaker 2: I hope that's just on your mind constantly. So that
• 1:15
Speaker 2: was the And then I was in New York for
• 1:16
Speaker 2: a few days and almost nothing happened like The other
• 1:20
Speaker 2: memorable thing was I had a bad Lentil soup, which
• 1:27
Speaker 2: I thought was the safe bet, and I wasn't even
• 1:29
Speaker 2: able to finish the cup of soups. I don't know
• 1:31
Speaker 2: what went wrong there. On my way home, this is important.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: In the uber, on the way back to the airport,
• 1:38
Speaker 2: they had the little screen. And of course I'm figuring
• 1:41
Speaker 2: out what my horoscope is. And I'm just gonna read
• 1:43
Speaker 2: this for libras. It said take this summer to plan
• 1:47
Speaker 2: a camping trip with close friends and reconnect. So that
• 1:50
Speaker 2: was timely. I adore today's guest. Everyone adores today's guest.
• 1:55
Speaker 3: It's caught you, not everyone, not everyone.
• 1:59
Speaker 2: Well, we don't want to hear about the other people.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: People who would disagree. Now you thank you for having me.
• 2:05
Speaker 2: Of course, welcome to I said, no gifts.
• 2:06
Speaker 3: I am happy to be here. Did you figure out
• 2:08
Speaker 3: what kind of rat you are?
• 2:10
  Speaker 2: No? I couldn't figure honalas I'm a wood rat.
• 2:14
Speaker 3: I wonder if that's compatible with a water dog. Oh what,
• 2:18
  Speaker 3: I guess we'll find out.
• 2:19
Speaker 2: I wonder what on at least? Do you know what
• 2:20
Speaker 2: the qualities of a wood rat are? Well, I know
• 2:23
Speaker 2: that just for a rat, you're supposed to be charming
• 2:26
Speaker 2: and hardworking, so thrifty. Oh my god, that that one
• 2:30
Speaker 2: actually works? That is so that? I mean one out
• 2:34
Speaker 2: of three isn't bad.
• 2:35
  Speaker 3: That's great?
• 2:36
Speaker 2: Wow, interesting would rat? Yeah?
• 2:37
Speaker 3: And you know if you go to them the I
• 2:39
Speaker 3: think it's the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art Lakama.
• 2:43
Speaker 3: They have an incredible circle of sculptures that are of
• 2:48
Speaker 3: all the animals and the Chinese zodiac. The snake is amazing,
• 2:52
Speaker 3: the pig is amazing. It's they're beautiful.
• 2:55
Speaker 2: Is this a temporary thing or no, it's there.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: It's like they're permanent. It's like an on the outside
• 2:59
Speaker 3: by the restaurant. Check it out. It's really great.
• 3:01
Speaker 2: So you're a water dog? What does that mean?
• 3:03
Speaker 3: I just take it literally because I am a profuse,
• 3:06
Speaker 3: prodigious sweater and you know, female impersonator, So just sweaty
• 3:11
  Speaker 3: bitch makes sense.
• 3:12
Speaker 2: Right, of course, it's right.
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: All.
• 3:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, I knew I was a rat for a long time,
• 3:15
Speaker 2: but I had no idea that were I mean in
• 3:17
Speaker 2: so many senses of the.
• 3:18
Speaker 3: Word, like a rat searching ground looking for a food.
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 3:23
Speaker 2: I mean I have said on this point jealous. I'm
• 3:26
Speaker 2: not a really jealous person.
• 3:28
Speaker 3: Are you a tittletale?
• 3:29
Speaker 2: No? But I have said on this podcast before that
• 3:31
Speaker 2: it's very pro snitch, pro rat rat. Yeah you got us.
• 3:37
Speaker 3: I would never, no matter how many fingers they cut off,
• 3:39
Speaker 3: I would never tell I would never.
• 3:41
Speaker 2: Do you really think you wouldn't snitch on principle?
• 3:44
Speaker 3: I so admire the people who get like flayed alive
• 3:48
Speaker 3: and then won't talk because that then it's just on it.
• 3:50
Speaker 3: It's it's like the ultimate last thing you can do.
• 3:54
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 3:54
Speaker 3: It's as like when it's a power play, right, even
• 3:58
Speaker 3: if the information is like not even that great, not
• 4:00
Speaker 3: even whatever. If I'm getting tortured, I'm not going.
• 4:02
Speaker 2: To say it. To torture someone to death and not
• 4:04
Speaker 2: get a juicy tidbit out of them, that's.
• 4:06
Speaker 3: And they have to live with that guilt and these
• 4:08
Speaker 3: you know, it's a whole right. I get to go
• 4:11
Speaker 3: to heaven and they are going to hell, and it's all.
• 4:13
  Speaker 3: It's wonderful.
• 4:14
Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that there are particular people I wouldn't
• 4:16
Speaker 2: snitch on. But if I were in the mafia or
• 4:18
Speaker 2: something like this, I think I would be.
• 4:21
Speaker 3: Going to get whacked. Yeah, so you're essentially killing yourself.
• 4:24
Speaker 2: Yes, of course, and why not I guess to be
• 4:27
Speaker 2: killed by the mob.
• 4:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they're just gonna Yeah, that's true. I mean,
• 4:31
Speaker 3: I I just recently watched Goodfellas.
• 4:33
Speaker 2: Oh I love Goodfellows.
• 4:35
Speaker 3: It's fantastic, and you know, and the Godfather Wait, speaking
• 4:40
Speaker 3: with Godfather, have you seen Mega Floppolis?
• 4:42
Speaker 2: I've seen the first hour. Okay, I got a little sleepy.
• 4:45
Speaker 2: I got a little because you know, I mean, it's insane,
• 4:48
Speaker 2: it's so wild to watch. But the story is so
• 4:51
Speaker 2: just all over the place that you stop following it
• 4:53
Speaker 2: and starts to feel like someone's telling you a dream
• 4:55
  Speaker 2: or something.
• 4:56
Speaker 3: And I just was like, oh, yeah, I was tempted
• 4:59
Speaker 3: to go in theater, but I just I don't want
• 5:01
Speaker 3: to be bored at the movies.
• 5:03
Speaker 2: No, and you are kind of bored, I think if
• 5:04
Speaker 2: you were. I think my audience was weirdly taking the
• 5:07
Speaker 2: movie seriously, and you want to be there with people
• 5:10
Speaker 2: who are like on board with Oh, we all think
• 5:12
Speaker 2: this is a crazy movie kinds of shit. Yeah, right,
• 5:15
Speaker 2: And it felt like everyone around me wanted to see
• 5:18
Speaker 2: the movie, so it was boring, damn. But I've heard
• 5:21
Speaker 2: the last half has some really wild moments as well
• 5:24
Speaker 2: that I'll have to.
• 5:26
Speaker 3: You'll catch it on streaming stream The Substance.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Oh, I loved The Substance. I had a great time.
• 5:33
Speaker 3: One of the best movie going experiences of my life.
• 5:35
Speaker 2: It is so I mean, I will say, forty minutes
• 5:39
  Speaker 2: too long.
• 5:39
  Speaker 3: Oh interesting.
• 5:41
Speaker 2: I felt like it kind of ended and then I
• 5:43
Speaker 2: mean the ending, The last like third of it is
• 5:45
Speaker 2: so outrageous, fond and outrageous to watch. But it's like,
• 5:49
Speaker 2: maybe it could have just tightened it up a bit
• 5:51
  Speaker 2: or something.
• 5:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think if I watched it twice and I
• 5:54
Speaker 3: was like if I had the first time I saw it,
• 5:56
Speaker 3: I was like, Okay, it's my favorite movie. This is
• 5:57
Speaker 3: gonna be my personality for the next three years. And
• 5:59
Speaker 3: then I again, I'm like, Okay, this is just a movie.
• 6:03
Speaker 3: There are flaws, and I think I would have nixed
• 6:05
Speaker 3: the strigen known of cooking. Second. Oh, I would have
• 6:08
Speaker 3: just got rid of that altogether. Then that's the only
• 6:11
Speaker 3: place I feel I could have been trimmed. But god,
• 6:13
Speaker 3: I love that fucking movie.
• 6:15
Speaker 2: I went in knowing literally nothing, Oh you did.
• 6:18
Speaker 3: I mean very not. I had seen only the teaser,
• 6:20
  Speaker 3: not the trailer.
• 6:21
  Speaker 2: I hadn't even seen a teaser. I knew that the
• 6:23
Speaker 2: demur wasn't it, And I knew that the title was
• 6:25
  Speaker 2: the substance.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'm so jealous. That must have been amazing.
• 6:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, because I kind of went in thinking it was
• 6:30
Speaker 2: going to be kind of like a hard drama or
• 6:32
Speaker 2: like a really dark drama, and it's like oh pure,
• 6:35
Speaker 2: Tom called the subs.
• 6:38
Speaker 3: I just can't believe Margaret Qualley's breasts were prosthetics. They were, Yes,
• 6:43
  Speaker 3: they were.
• 6:44
Speaker 2: Was that like match to me?
• 6:46
Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, because Margaret. And it's interesting because you know,
• 6:48
Speaker 3: she's the younger, more perfect version of Demi Mour But
• 6:51
Speaker 3: the real life actress does not have big boobs, right,
• 6:54
Speaker 3: so they needed to give her big boobs which seamless, incredible,
• 6:58
  Speaker 3: unclockable breasts.
• 7:00
Speaker 2: Wow. And I was so proud of them to make
• 7:02
Speaker 2: a movie where they just cast a younger actor to
• 7:04
Speaker 2: play the younger part, rather than putting the actor in
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: weird makeup.
• 7:08
Speaker 3: The breast Yeah, yeah, yeah, uncanny.
• 7:12
Speaker 2: Valley, Tom Cruise flipping on a train making hot chocolate,
• 7:15
  Speaker 2: don't you think.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: While we were talking about other options for Margaret, quality
• 7:19
Speaker 3: looks like Jennifer Connolly.
• 7:21
  Speaker 2: Oh wow, But.
• 7:22
Speaker 3: Jennifer Connolly is not old enough. She's only fifty. Although
• 7:26
Speaker 3: Demi Moore is sixty sixty, playing fifty it works better.
• 7:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, Connelly would have had to play forty.
• 7:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, but then it's like get too young to right.
• 7:34
Speaker 2: It doesn't make enough sense. I mean maybe it would
• 7:38
Speaker 2: just be an even edgy or but look at.
• 7:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think the meta Demi Moore's career gave
• 7:44
Speaker 3: it a huge robust flavor that it wouldn't have had
• 7:48
Speaker 3: with another actress, you know, because she's gone through the
• 7:50
Speaker 3: plastic surgery scandals and all that crowd.
• 7:52
Speaker 2: Oh right, that's true, Like she actually brings something to
• 7:54
Speaker 2: it personally. Yeah, oh no. I had such a good time,
• 7:58
Speaker 2: and I was obviously just so repulse over and over
• 8:00
Speaker 2: and over. But the thing that really like makes me
• 8:04
Speaker 2: feel bad is seeing like close ups of a syringe, going,
• 8:07
  Speaker 2: oh my god.
• 8:08
Speaker 3: If you don't like that kind of stuff, if you
• 8:10
Speaker 3: don't like like like large gauge needles puncturing like festering wounds,
• 8:16
Speaker 3: this is not the movie for you. Baby. It is
• 8:20
  Speaker 3: tough to I usually don't. I usually flinch. I was
• 8:24
Speaker 3: just very glad there were no needles in the neck, oh,
• 8:26
Speaker 3: because that's one of my pet peeves. We don't do
• 8:29
Speaker 3: needles in the neck on planet Earth.
• 8:31
Speaker 2: Like, yeah, who whatever.
• 8:32
Speaker 3: Nobody does needles in the neck unless they're like heavy
• 8:35
Speaker 3: hardcore heron auticts. But even then, it's not like a
• 8:38
Speaker 3: gem in in. It's very slow, you know what I mean.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: And there are just so many other areas of the
• 8:42
Speaker 2: body that you can go through.
• 8:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you're doing like I just hate that.
• 8:48
Speaker 3: Any writer out there in Hollywood, please don't write that
• 8:50
Speaker 3: into your script, the whole jabbing the thing in the
• 8:52
Speaker 3: neck and then all and then they immediately like fall down.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: Oh the im media falling down. I think we've got
• 8:57
  Speaker 2: to figure out.
• 8:59
Speaker 3: Yes, you have to write it because like an intramuscular
• 9:01
Speaker 3: injection is going to take about fifteen to twenty five
• 9:04
Speaker 3: minutes to take effect. And I recently saw a movie
• 9:06
Speaker 3: where that happened and I was like, oh, yes, and
• 9:09
Speaker 3: but you know the whole like jam it in the thigh,
• 9:12
  Speaker 3: they fall over.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: I hate that, right, And I mean even with like
• 9:15
Speaker 2: in action movies being people being shot and then just
• 9:18
Speaker 2: falling over. I think we're ready. We're all adults. We
• 9:20
Speaker 2: can see a little bit more of the struggle. You
• 9:22
Speaker 2: don't just fall to the ground, right.
• 9:24
Speaker 3: And if it's in reality, you can't slide and then
• 9:27
Speaker 3: fall off a cliff and hang with one hand, like
• 9:30
Speaker 3: not even an Olympic athlete could do that. No, not
• 9:32
Speaker 3: even like the best gymnasts could do.
• 9:34
Speaker 2: That would rip your arm off.
• 9:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you would just not be able to grip
• 9:37
Speaker 3: and hold like it's fucking and then hold somebody else the.
• 9:40
Speaker 2: Upper body strength. I mean, unless that's part of the story.
• 9:44
Speaker 3: It never is. It's always like die hard or like,
• 9:46
Speaker 3: you know, they're human beings and those supernatural powers, yet
• 9:50
Speaker 3: they can get they can stick a needle in somebody's
• 9:53
Speaker 3: neck and there immediately die or get. You know, it's just, oh,
• 9:56
Speaker 3: I hate it so much. I hate it.
• 9:58
Speaker 2: Did you watch Long Legs?
• 10:00
Speaker 3: I did. I thought it sucked. I you know, brilliant marketing.
• 10:05
Speaker 3: I was so crhymed, pumped, psyched and ready to have
• 10:10
Speaker 3: like my head blown off and to have nightmares for
• 10:12
  Speaker 3: like six months.
• 10:13
  Speaker 2: Hmmm.
• 10:14
Speaker 3: My friend and I laughed like all the way through.
• 10:16
Speaker 3: And it was such a rip off of Silence of
• 10:20
Speaker 3: the Lambs of like seven, even David Lynchy kind of
• 10:25
Speaker 3: it was. It was so shitty. I hated it so much.
• 10:29
Speaker 3: No offense to the director. I'm sure he's a lovely person,
• 10:32
Speaker 3: but yeah, it was just so over hyped and under delivered.
• 10:36
Speaker 2: No, this is exactly You're maybe the third person on
• 10:38
Speaker 2: this podcast I've asked if they had seen it. They hadn't,
• 10:40
Speaker 2: and so that I'm just like, well, I have nowhere
• 10:41
Speaker 2: to share these feelings. This is exactly how I felt.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: I felt like the first like minute was like, oh,
• 10:46
Speaker 2: this is kind of spooking.
• 10:47
Speaker 3: Well, you know when when Spoilerer when right at the beginning,
• 10:50
Speaker 3: when she says it's that house, he goes in and
• 10:52
Speaker 3: gets shot immediately. That was a lovely cool fair moment.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: Tints with like the plastic hanging from the sea.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: Very haunting. That's it.
• 10:59
Speaker 2: It's so after that then it's just ridiculous.
• 11:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like I might come back. Was twice so
• 11:06
Speaker 3: it was man made and we were laughing. I was like,
• 11:08
Speaker 3: I know this is supposed to be creepy in a
• 11:10
Speaker 3: lynche in that sort of way, but it's just failing
• 11:13
  Speaker 3: at it.
• 11:14
Speaker 2: I wondered throughout the movie if it weren't Nicholas Cage,
• 11:17
Speaker 2: if it would have been scary, But I just kept thinking, that's.
• 11:19
Speaker 3: Nick kg No, he was the best part of it.
• 11:21
Speaker 3: I thought he was very good.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: But I just kept thinking, this can't be a scary monster.
• 11:24
Speaker 2: It should be an anonymous actor that I that at
• 11:26
Speaker 2: least feels like they're from another realm. Yeah, otherwise I'm like, oh,
• 11:29
Speaker 2: it's just him and makeup.
• 11:31
Speaker 3: And also a good job, Like it was like she's
• 11:34
Speaker 3: an FBI agent and she didn't bother to check her
• 11:36
Speaker 3: mom's courting house. Like it was like so bad. I
• 11:39
Speaker 3: was like, oh whatever, Yeah, it was such a disappointment.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: But then I saw the Terrifier Part three.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: Oh, that looks genuinely scary to me, is it? All
• 11:49
Speaker 2: three of them look so scary.
• 11:51
Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna be frank. Number one piece of shit.
• 11:54
Speaker 3: Number two very very shitty and long. Number three tight
• 11:59
Speaker 3: and very well improved. I shouldn't have said they were
• 12:02
Speaker 3: shit because I'm lobbying hard to be cast in the
• 12:04
  Speaker 3: fourth one.
• 12:05
Speaker 2: Well, you've got thoughts that you can share with the
• 12:06
  Speaker 2: creative team.
• 12:07
Speaker 3: No, I would never know. I said I would give them.
• 12:09
Speaker 3: I would come with no notes or anything. I'd just
• 12:12
Speaker 3: be very like, you know, enthusiastic about whatever they wanted
• 12:14
  Speaker 3: me to do.
• 12:15
  Speaker 2: But it is.
• 12:16
Speaker 3: I saw it on a sneak preview night with you know,
• 12:19
Speaker 3: diehard horror fans at the Egyptian Theater, and that experience
• 12:23
Speaker 3: rivaled the substance because it was all a bunch of
• 12:27
Speaker 3: freaks who love Gore and the movie is so disgusting.
• 12:33
Speaker 3: It's so disgusting. It's relentlessly, brutally, sadistically disgusting, but not
• 12:42
Speaker 3: in the hostile kind of way, right, like not like
• 12:44
Speaker 3: hostile Saw, Like it doesn't try to emulate the real world.
• 12:48
Speaker 3: In fact, there are supernatural elements to the killer now
• 12:51
Speaker 3: into the Kills, but spoiler alert, there's a chainsaw up
• 12:57
Speaker 3: the ass oh my, and to the genet and that's
• 13:01
Speaker 3: just like not even the most horrifying part. It's like
• 13:04
Speaker 3: it just never stops. It's so we were screaming and
• 13:09
Speaker 3: everybody was screaming, and I'm like, oh, this is great.
• 13:15
Speaker 2: And does the gore feel realistic?
• 13:18
  Speaker 3: It's it's like jiallo. I think it's like it's it's Saw.
• 13:25
Speaker 3: A lot of the Saw movies do really try to
• 13:27
Speaker 3: emulate realism and hostile, especially because that is torture, porn
• 13:31
Speaker 3: human beings torturing other human beings. In this one, there
• 13:35
Speaker 3: are demons. There are possessed demons from it. So it
• 13:39
Speaker 3: is a supernatural horror. But in the gore is very
• 13:45
  Speaker 3: grindhouse splashy splatter.
• 13:47
Speaker 2: Okay, I can handle that, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 13:49
Speaker 3: It's like the blood doesn't look like real blood a
• 13:52
Speaker 3: lot of the times.
• 13:53
Speaker 2: Very corn syrup or where it's like almost like orange e.
• 13:55
Speaker 3: It's like and there's so much of it, and like,
• 13:58
Speaker 3: but but you see everything like the chains off the
• 14:02
Speaker 3: ask and then the whole front by I mean.
• 14:04
Speaker 2: The tagline should just be used everything you do.
• 14:07
Speaker 3: And it like there was a there's a notorious kill
• 14:10
Speaker 3: in the second one that was so brutal. It was
• 14:13
Speaker 3: really tough to watch, and it went on forever and
• 14:15
Speaker 3: just when you think it couldn't get any worse, it does.
• 14:17
Speaker 3: And but yeah, like it's just it's sick and psychotic.
• 14:22
Speaker 2: What is the story of the film. I know, it's
• 14:24
Speaker 2: like a crazy looking clown crazy.
• 14:26
Speaker 3: Well, so he was decapitated in the second one. Okay,
• 14:29
Speaker 3: so his decapitated body comes back. You know, it's like
• 14:34
Speaker 3: they have to conjure the supernatural lore in order to
• 14:37
Speaker 3: make their logic work. But now Art the clown, the
• 14:41
Speaker 3: killer is super sadistic. He goes to a moll and
• 14:43
Speaker 3: blows up kids. He has a his I think a
• 14:48
Speaker 3: victim that he tore the face off of in the
• 14:50
Speaker 3: first one is now his like accomplice. She's like a
• 14:53
Speaker 3: demon lady because she's possessed and she is really cunty.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: She really lets you have it. And so they're like
• 14:59
Speaker 3: a duo and it's like like Bonnie and Clyde very disgusting,
• 15:05
Speaker 3: twisted demon clown version.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: That must have been a real conversation between the two
• 15:09
Speaker 2: of them. Her getting on his side post face being
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: ripped off.
• 15:12
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well she did in factor She hardly factored
• 15:14
Speaker 3: in on the second one, I think, and then her
• 15:17
Speaker 3: inclusion to this was a real real It's cool because
• 15:20
Speaker 3: it's like you get to see, like, you know, the
• 15:22
Speaker 3: Aussie and Harriet, Bonnie and Clyde kind of like like
• 15:26
Speaker 3: the mister and missus Smith kind of like working together
• 15:28
Speaker 3: to kill every single person in the world.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: And where does Arthur come in the first movie? Where
• 15:33
Speaker 2: did you come from? He's just a clown, angry clown.
• 15:37
Speaker 3: Yes, very sadistic, very and he's like super faggy. Oh
• 15:42
Speaker 3: but he's like he does this a lot like.
• 15:44
  Speaker 2: Presentation we need.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's he's really broad. Never he doesn't speak at.
• 15:49
Speaker 2: All, Okay, but he's like and there's.
• 15:52
Speaker 3: Like like he'll like he is super super flamboyant and
• 15:57
Speaker 3: and the way that like Freddy Krueger is and but
• 16:00
Speaker 3: he's the most animated, silent, flamboyant killer that there is
• 16:05
  Speaker 3: in horror.
• 16:05
Speaker 2: I think you point out something I've obviously noticed but
• 16:10
Speaker 2: never realizes. Freddy Krueger is very flamboyant.
• 16:13
Speaker 3: He's all over the place, faggot like, and you know
• 16:16
Speaker 3: what he really I grew up watching those movies. I
• 16:19
Speaker 3: still have nightmares. What's crazy about him is that, like, yeah,
• 16:23
Speaker 3: he gets you in your dreams, and he also tailors
• 16:25
Speaker 3: them to your fears, and he like there it's very
• 16:28
Speaker 3: like bespoke murders, do you know what I mean? He
• 16:31
Speaker 3: like he'll do the most horrifying thing to you because
• 16:34
Speaker 3: he's in your head and you can't escape from him
• 16:37
Speaker 3: because in your dreams. Oh, it's just so Whereas Jason
• 16:42
Speaker 3: and Michael Myers lumbering, Yeah, fuck off, it's so boring.
• 16:48
Speaker 2: But I mean, at least Michael Myers has the decency
• 16:50
Speaker 2: to like turn the mask inside out, try something new.
• 16:54
  Speaker 3: I don't know, I'm sorry. I don't think any of
• 16:56
Speaker 3: those movies are good, not even Halloween one.
• 16:58
Speaker 2: No, I love Halloween One.
• 16:59
Speaker 3: But what about this? Remember the first scene, who kills somebody?
• 17:03
Speaker 3: Like this just kind of like one of those birds
• 17:07
Speaker 3: that car the POV like through the mask is like
• 17:10
Speaker 3: that's how they're like, you do this, you don't like
• 17:14
Speaker 3: move your head, you know it doesn't.
• 17:15
Speaker 2: If you think about it, who does a psychotic out
• 17:19
Speaker 2: of their mind and it's going to bed. That's that's
• 17:24
Speaker 2: what made him evil. It was a real trial throughout
• 17:28
  Speaker 2: my life.
• 17:29
Speaker 3: Who's your favorite horror character?
• 17:31
Speaker 2: Oh, that's a very good question. Let me think about
• 17:33
Speaker 2: this for a moment, because I wanted to. I want
• 17:36
Speaker 2: it to be an accurate I love horror, but I'll say, oh,
• 17:43
Speaker 2: I actually don't think I have because the ones that
• 17:45
Speaker 2: really scare me are ones that they're kind of just
• 17:47
Speaker 2: normal people, you know, like the strangers.
• 17:50
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's it. Home invasion does not. I don't
• 17:53
Speaker 3: like that at all.
• 17:54
Speaker 2: It feels bade hush, No, what's this?
• 17:57
Speaker 3: It's a home invasion movie and the girl is death. Oh,
• 18:01
  Speaker 3: it's fucking scary.
• 18:03
  Speaker 2: Sounds it's very.
• 18:05
Speaker 3: Scary, Like he he kills her friend right at the door,
• 18:08
Speaker 3: at the glass window, and he doesn't understand she's deaf
• 18:12
  Speaker 3: and she's like banging it. It's it's a little unbelievable
• 18:15
Speaker 3: in a way, but it's really, really, really scary.
• 18:17
Speaker 2: I think now I'm thinking, Uh, the House in the Haunting,
• 18:21
Speaker 2: I think that might be my favorite villain.
• 18:23
Speaker 3: The House and the Hunting.
• 18:24
Speaker 2: Have you seen the Haunting the Sixties one.
• 18:26
  Speaker 3: I don't know, it's so good. Okay, I got it.
• 18:29
Speaker 2: It's fantastic. It's just like a guy brings some people
• 18:33
Speaker 2: together to study this house and it's very spooky. It's
• 18:36
Speaker 2: like it holds up pretty well as a haunted house movie.
• 18:39
  Speaker 3: Cool.
• 18:40
  Speaker 2: Who's your favorite?
• 18:41
Speaker 3: I like Candy Man.
• 18:44
Speaker 2: You never seen Candy Man?
• 18:45
Speaker 3: Oh, I highly suggest it. Tony Todd plays the cool
• 18:48
Speaker 3: thing about like people who like follow me, but they're
• 18:51
Speaker 3: so sick of me. He's talking about this, but like
• 18:53
Speaker 3: the cool thing about that movie, not the remake. Did
• 18:55
Speaker 3: not like the remake. But it's it's all of the
• 18:59
Speaker 3: most of the act, most of the the scary stuff
• 19:02
Speaker 3: happens during the day in broad daylight. And he has
• 19:06
Speaker 3: this like hypnotizing quality. The main character is studying like
• 19:11
Speaker 3: these urban legends and in this like improverished part of
• 19:14
Speaker 3: I think Chicago, and she's a white woman grad student
• 19:18
Speaker 3: and when he like haunts her, he's like helln well,
• 19:24
Speaker 3: and his voice is so she never screams. Ever, she
• 19:28
Speaker 3: gets hypnotized. Oh and it's crazy. And she actually got
• 19:32
Speaker 3: hypnotized on set by a hypnotist and it started to
• 19:34
Speaker 3: drive her crazy. What Yeah, it was cool, and his
• 19:37
Speaker 3: voice is so once you hear it, it is it
• 19:42
Speaker 3: is so effective at being fucking terrifying.
• 19:47
Speaker 2: And does he come out of a mirror like Floody.
• 19:48
Speaker 3: Mary's exactly five times you say candy Man, and then
• 19:51
Speaker 3: his hook will get you from stem to stem to stern,
• 19:55
Speaker 3: from crouch to throat.
• 19:57
Speaker 2: From crouch to chin. Yeah. Oh wow. Have you ever
• 20:01
  Speaker 2: been hypnotized?
• 20:02
Speaker 3: I've you know, I've there was. I went to the
• 20:04
Speaker 3: Mad Russian in Boston to try to get hypnotized for
• 20:08
Speaker 3: smoking quitting smoking. Didn't work, No, I wish it had.
• 20:13
  Speaker 3: I don't think I'm hypnotizable.
• 20:14
Speaker 2: I mean I was going to say so many people
• 20:16
Speaker 2: swear by it, but then I'm like, all those people
• 20:17
Speaker 2: are just people I've heard in like ads or whatever.
• 20:19
  Speaker 2: It's like, Oh, I don't.
• 20:20
Speaker 3: Really believe it. I mean, I just can't imagine really
• 20:23
Speaker 3: like right, like totally sober, you know what I mean,
• 20:28
Speaker 3: like really like alert, like not tired.
• 20:30
  Speaker 2: Like I mean, I think I'm too skeptical that I
• 20:32
Speaker 2: would just be thinking about that through the entire process,
• 20:34
Speaker 2: and even if it were possible, it would get in
• 20:36
Speaker 2: the way of my brain being free to be impressionable.
• 20:40
Speaker 3: I mean, I'm open to it.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: I would love to be hypnotized.
• 20:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be fierce.
• 20:44
Speaker 2: I mean, if that's a real thing that can happen,
• 20:46
  Speaker 2: it's magic.
• 20:48
Speaker 3: I well, you know what. I was on the street
• 20:50
Speaker 3: the other day walking home from Ralph's and this young
• 20:53
Speaker 3: boy was like following me and then he like tied
• 20:56
Speaker 3: me on the shoulder at the intersection. He's like, he
• 20:59
Speaker 3: is like katya. I was like, yeah, He's like, do
• 21:00
Speaker 3: you want to see a magic trick?
• 21:01
  Speaker 2: Oh?
• 21:02
Speaker 3: I know that. I was like in my head him
• 21:04
Speaker 3: like absolutely, fuck not. But then of course I was
• 21:07
Speaker 3: just like sure whatever, and he blew my mind.
• 21:10
Speaker 2: What did he do?
• 21:10
  Speaker 3: I can't I can't succinctly describe it, but he basically
• 21:16
Speaker 3: he took my phone and gave it back to me.
• 21:19
Speaker 3: Then I took his phone and I didn't type anything
• 21:22
Speaker 3: into his phone. And then long story short, he had
• 21:25
Speaker 3: told me to think of a place, a very specific place,
• 21:28
Speaker 3: not like a country, but somewhere or like some a
• 21:31
Speaker 3: very specific place. And I thought of one i'd been to,
• 21:34
Speaker 3: and he said the Upper House in Hong Kong. And
• 21:36
Speaker 3: there was no way for him to know that who
• 21:39
Speaker 3: there was just through the process there was No. I
• 21:42
Speaker 3: was like, holy shit, he was. I was like, how
• 21:45
Speaker 3: did you do that? He's like magic? I was like,
• 21:48
  Speaker 3: oh my god.
• 21:49
Speaker 2: I mean everything about the setup of that is like.
• 21:52
  Speaker 3: He'sh I wish I know, I really because the way
• 21:55
Speaker 3: that he did it, the process, at the order of events,
• 21:58
Speaker 3: it really seemed impossible, well for me to have for
• 22:01
Speaker 3: him to have known, right, obviously I'm dumb, and it
• 22:06
Speaker 3: worked really well. But it was like, yeah, it was
• 22:08
Speaker 3: mind blowing. Is twenty one years old?
• 22:09
Speaker 2: Wow? He just takes your phone and then vanishes in
• 22:12
Speaker 2: a cloud of smoke. Oh he got me?
• 22:14
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 22:15
Speaker 2: Oh god, oh no. I've been to one hypnotist show
• 22:19
Speaker 2: and I always find them very annoying because I'm like
• 22:21
Speaker 2: everyone on stage just seems to be faking it, of
• 22:23
Speaker 2: course and trying to act wacky.
• 22:25
Speaker 3: Yeah. I always think their plans. Yeah, i mean, who's
• 22:27
Speaker 3: there to Yeah, none of that stuff impresses me, really,
• 22:31
  Speaker 3: I'll close up. Magic's a little interesting.
• 22:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's at least impressive.
• 22:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, it tricks me. It's just once you like watch
• 22:39
Speaker 3: a video about how to do it, it's all the thing's
• 22:41
Speaker 3: all spoiled, you know.
• 22:43
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 22:43
Speaker 2: Anyways, I mean, look, I think there's something else we
• 22:46
Speaker 2: should talk about. I love magic, but there's something else
• 22:50
Speaker 2: that appeared in the studio today.
• 22:51
  Speaker 3: Yes, a gift.
• 22:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, the podcast is I said no gifts, which.
• 22:56
Speaker 3: Is and I'm an Icona class.
• 23:00
Speaker 2: Famous iconic rule break.
• 23:04
Speaker 3: But wait, look at please describe it.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, this is because when you walked into the
• 23:09
Speaker 2: studio you were holding a just a shopping.
• 23:11
  Speaker 3: Bag, Ralph.
• 23:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, which a lot of guests on this podcast Wilder
• 23:15
Speaker 2: show up essentially with a garbage bag or whatever, and
• 23:17
Speaker 2: that's the wrapping. I thought, oh, that's but then you
• 23:19
Speaker 2: pulled it out and it was so beautifully.
• 23:20
Speaker 3: I didn't have any wrapping paper at home, so I
• 23:22
Speaker 3: that was a gift bag that I cut up. And
• 23:24
Speaker 3: then I found some baby Rick rack in my studio.
• 23:27
Speaker 3: It made it as like because didn't have any ribbon,
• 23:29
Speaker 3: and it's so shittily wrap that I think it needed
• 23:31
  Speaker 3: a little ribbon.
• 23:32
  Speaker 2: I think it's so cute.
• 23:34
Speaker 3: But that card stock is very expensive, thank you very much.
• 23:37
Speaker 2: And it feels expensive. It's textured. Yeah, and then it's
• 23:40
Speaker 2: got my name in Russian. Yeah, so yeah, wow, that's amazing.
• 23:45
  Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a b. The P is an r that
• 23:48
Speaker 3: middle one with the triangles A D. It's just such
• 23:51
Speaker 3: a strange, wonderful language.
• 23:53
Speaker 2: How did it take you to learn to write Russian?
• 23:56
Speaker 3: Oh? Like two days?
• 23:57
  Speaker 2: Two days?
• 23:58
Speaker 3: That's so easy really?
• 23:59
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 23:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, you can learn the alphabet in like four hours.
• 24:02
Speaker 2: Hell, is there alphabet twenty six letters? I think it's
• 24:04
Speaker 2: like thirty three thirty three?
• 24:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, they have and they have some. They have a
• 24:07
Speaker 3: couple of letters that are like not letters. They're called
• 24:11
Speaker 3: signs that they like affect the pronunciation of other letters.
• 24:14
Speaker 3: I love cyrillic alphabet so much. It's so sexy.
• 24:19
Speaker 2: Oh it's I mean, it's so beautiful. It really is
• 24:22
  Speaker 2: really stylish looking.
• 24:23
  Speaker 3: Yeah, it's beautiful.
• 24:24
Speaker 2: It gives much more of an impression than our alphabet. A.
• 24:27
Speaker 3: Please open the card and read it. And there's a
• 24:33
Speaker 3: gift inside as well.
• 24:34
Speaker 2: In the envelope. Yeah okay, oh my god.
• 24:39
Speaker 3: Ten rubles, yes, ten rubles and it says good luck.
• 24:44
Speaker 2: Oh, it says good luck? And how do you say that?
• 24:46
  Speaker 3: Dachi?
• 24:47
Speaker 2: Wow? Okay, So tell me why you gave me ten roubles.
• 24:51
Speaker 3: Because I just found it. I was like, I was
• 24:53
Speaker 3: looking all over my house. I was like, God, what
• 24:55
Speaker 3: do I I was going to give you? I had
• 24:57
Speaker 3: these HeLa monsters that were all bubble wrapped.
• 25:00
Speaker 2: Like, oh, how many of them do you have?
• 25:03
  Speaker 3: Free? I don't think they're actually a heal of monsters,
• 25:06
Speaker 3: but they're giant lizards. And but then I was like,
• 25:09
Speaker 3: what can I give them? I wanted to give him
• 25:10
Speaker 3: something useful. I give you something useful. So I gave
• 25:13
  Speaker 3: you something useful.
• 25:14
Speaker 2: It's such a beautiful piece of currency. It's got a bridge,
• 25:17
Speaker 2: it's got some sort of tower on it, multiple colors.
• 25:21
Speaker 3: I think in today's economy it's probably worth about eight
• 25:23
Speaker 3: cents or less even I'm rich. Yeah, Like I think,
• 25:26
Speaker 3: like ten thousand rubles is like five dollars.
• 25:29
Speaker 2: The podcast Now, well, I mean I think it's been
• 25:32
Speaker 2: said before, but literally every other country has such better
• 25:35
  Speaker 2: looking currency.
• 25:36
Speaker 3: Well, I mean Canada and Canada, specially Canada, Australia when
• 25:39
Speaker 3: they have the plastic non breakable ones.
• 25:41
  Speaker 2: Oh I haven't seen this.
• 25:42
Speaker 3: Oh are you kidding me? The Australia, Canada, I think
• 25:48
Speaker 3: many euros. Now, they're they're you know, they're like plastic clear.
• 25:52
Speaker 3: You can't rip them, you can go through the wash,
• 25:54
Speaker 3: you go in the ocean, like seriously, they're they're unbreakable
• 25:57
Speaker 3: and they're so like slick and smoothly, but they're.
• 26:00
Speaker 2: Still like foldable to put in a wallet.
• 26:02
Speaker 3: Oh, I mean the same basically the same size as
• 26:04
Speaker 3: all the other like a dollar.
• 26:06
Speaker 2: How are we so we are behind?
• 26:08
Speaker 3: Flop? We flapped so hard on payment and payment methods.
• 26:11
Speaker 2: As a country that is so obsessed with money, you
• 26:13
Speaker 2: would think we can't.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: Seem to get it right in any department.
• 26:16
Speaker 2: My god, well I'll have to. I'm gonna spend big
• 26:19
Speaker 2: with this, yeah, or maybe invest it?
• 26:21
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just invest it. It's your nest egg.
• 26:24
Speaker 2: This is my my grandnieces will be very thankful for this.
• 26:30
Speaker 3: I'm a curious. Can you look up how much ten
• 26:32
Speaker 3: rubles is because I really think it's probably point zero
• 26:35
Speaker 3: one sense, it's something very love I feel like.
• 26:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, hon, least find out because.
• 26:41
Speaker 3: It's ten cents ten cents.
• 26:43
Speaker 2: So wow, this is a lot more than I had
• 26:45
Speaker 2: planned on a bill. I'm on vacation, yeah, yeah, yeah, traveling.
• 26:50
Speaker 2: Do you have a lot of Russian currency?
• 26:52
Speaker 3: No, that's the only one I found in my house.
• 26:54
Speaker 2: Where do you think it came from?
• 26:56
Speaker 3: A fan in Nashville?
• 26:57
  Speaker 2: Oh?
• 26:58
Speaker 3: Interesting that in a red Lobster gift card.
• 27:02
Speaker 2: A tencent gift card twenty bucks.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: That's great, brought you that?
• 27:06
Speaker 2: Oh so you haven't gone out? Got to take yourself
• 27:08
Speaker 2: to red lobster like lobster. Do you like crab?
• 27:10
  Speaker 3: Nope?
• 27:11
Speaker 2: Any sort of shellfish nope? Oh well the.
• 27:14
Speaker 3: Rats of the sea lobster.
• 27:17
  Speaker 2: They are bugs.
• 27:18
Speaker 3: They're like bottom feeders.
• 27:20
Speaker 2: They're giant insects. But I think they're delicious, you do,
• 27:24
Speaker 2: I know, But I don't eat them that off, no see,
• 27:27
Speaker 2: And that's probably why I think they're good, because like
• 27:29
Speaker 2: it's so rare and I never am just like eating
• 27:31
Speaker 2: the full thing and like cracking the bottom like a
• 27:33
Speaker 2: lobster roll probably things yeah, where it's like an element
• 27:37
Speaker 2: rather than a yeah, lobster ll. I think it's the butter.
• 27:41
Speaker 2: I think that that's kind of the element that I
• 27:42
Speaker 2: really like in the lemon so much.
• 27:45
Speaker 3: I'm such a picky eater though. What's what's your favorite food?
• 27:48
Speaker 2: My favorite food, I would say probably burrito.
• 27:52
  Speaker 3: What's in it?
• 27:53
Speaker 2: I like like a San Francisco Mission burrito. So living
• 27:56
Speaker 2: in LA is kind of held where it's like whereas
• 27:59
Speaker 2: rice and bean in guacamole and sour cream and.
• 28:02
Speaker 3: Cheese in l A on your mind.
• 28:06
Speaker 2: La, you can but they're not good because l A,
• 28:08
  Speaker 2: there aren't a lot of good flower tortillas. There's I've
• 28:11
Speaker 2: read like articles about this, okay, and it's very hard
• 28:15
Speaker 2: to find a really good burrito. There are other like
• 28:17
Speaker 2: La style burritos, but they're usually just like beans and meat. Okay,
• 28:21
Speaker 2: but like if you go to San Francisco, phenomenal breedos
• 28:25
Speaker 2: and they're like the sort of breedo that you can stand.
• 28:27
  Speaker 2: It's so it's like a football. Yeah, it's really a
• 28:30
Speaker 2: beautiful thing. But I think burrito or a hero. I
• 28:33
  Speaker 2: love eros.
• 28:34
Speaker 3: Okay, Well that's how you say zero?
• 28:36
Speaker 2: What do you say gyro?
• 28:37
Speaker 3: Well I did for about the first thirty years of
• 28:40
Speaker 3: my life, and then I said, I thought there were heroes.
• 28:43
Speaker 3: Oh hero is a year zero.
• 28:45
Speaker 2: I think it is zero. But I think a lot
• 28:47
Speaker 2: of people just continue to say gyro and like that's
• 28:50
Speaker 2: an accepted form of hero is a you were wrong,
• 28:54
Speaker 2: you were simply wrong, okay, okay.
• 28:55
Speaker 3: I also love the Greek alphabet, which alphabet comes from interesting,
• 29:00
Speaker 3: beautiful letters, lovely letters.
• 29:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the Greeks were really doing it early on,
• 29:05
Speaker 2: yeah everything, Yeah, they really they were leading the way
• 29:08
Speaker 2: and that's why the euro is so delicious. But that's
• 29:10
Speaker 2: another thing you can't really get in La because there's
• 29:12
Speaker 2: not a large Greek population. So I've found myself in
• 29:14
Speaker 2: a trap. Damn you gotta go to Grease, gotta go
• 29:17
Speaker 2: to Greece. Have been no, I would love to go
• 29:20
Speaker 2: to Greece. I would love to go to What's your
• 29:22
  Speaker 2: favorite food?
• 29:24
Speaker 3: If I had to eat one dinner meal for the
• 29:26
Speaker 3: rest of my life, it would be what I had
• 29:28
Speaker 3: last night, which was spicy beef noodles at this really wonderful,
• 29:32
Speaker 3: great Chinese place buy my house called Land Noodles. I
• 29:37
Speaker 3: suggested to try it. They're absolutely delicious, and then shy
• 29:40
Speaker 3: it like chicken fried dumplings.
• 29:42
Speaker 2: Oh that sounds phenomenal.
• 29:44
Speaker 3: It's so good. This noodle place is off the hook.
• 29:46
Speaker 3: Oh it's I think about it right now and I'm like, yeah,
• 29:50
Speaker 3: lan noodles, check it out.
• 29:52
Speaker 2: You saying that reminds Probably a meal that I would
• 29:55
Speaker 2: eat for the rest of my life is the fried
• 29:56
Speaker 2: chicken plate at Doune. Have you been there? The Mediterranean
• 30:00
Speaker 2: kind of word. It's like hummus and shredded cabbage. Unbelievable,
• 30:04
Speaker 2: and they make the pita there.
• 30:06
Speaker 3: It's so right there.
• 30:08
Speaker 2: Yes, you've got to make the pita in store.
• 30:10
Speaker 3: Yes you can't. You can't have it shipped in from
• 30:13
Speaker 3: some lab or whatever.
• 30:18
Speaker 2: Well, shul I opened this little box here. Okay, careful
• 30:20
Speaker 2: with the baby rick rack. Okay, I'm being very I'm
• 30:24
Speaker 2: gonna put this in my hair or something you can
• 30:26
  Speaker 2: do braids, braid.
• 30:30
Speaker 3: Now, this is or something to keep in the house.
• 30:32
Speaker 3: It's not for you, okay, this isn't for guests. Oh, fantastic,
• 30:35
Speaker 3: something that people often overlook, especially guys. Okay, I brought
• 30:40
  Speaker 3: the right thing.
• 30:40
Speaker 2: That paper sounds so good.
• 30:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, a smr.
• 30:43
Speaker 2: Oh it's so crispy party paper. Oh, this is a
• 30:50
  Speaker 2: This is fantastic. Actually, I wouldn't have I wouldn't have
• 30:53
Speaker 2: this in my home. It's a box of tampons.
• 30:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean especially I'm not going to assume your
• 30:58
Speaker 3: your orientation. But yeah, gay guys. I had noticed a
• 31:02
Speaker 3: lot of gay guys would never this would never ever
• 31:04
Speaker 3: cross their mind. No, of course, you know, maybe if
• 31:07
Speaker 3: they when their sister comes over, or their niece or
• 31:09
Speaker 3: their mom or whatever, or they're you know, someone with
• 31:12
Speaker 3: a bloody nose, someone with a vagina like you know,
• 31:16
Speaker 3: it's always important to have tampons. I also have pads
• 31:19
  Speaker 3: in the houses.
• 31:19
Speaker 2: Oh this is such a I mean this should be
• 31:22
Speaker 2: a public service announcement right now, any.
• 31:24
Speaker 3: Wellyould they also should be free?
• 31:26
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course. I mean it's a well known
• 31:29
Speaker 2: scam on women. I mean there's so many the essential
• 31:34
Speaker 2: tax where it's like, oh, here are a bunch of
• 31:35
Speaker 2: other things you have to pay for, which this should
• 31:38
  Speaker 2: just be everywhere.
• 31:39
Speaker 3: They should be like hanging from trees everywhere.
• 31:41
Speaker 2: They should be next to the napkin dispenser at restaurants.
• 31:43
Speaker 3: They should be with the forking knife.
• 31:45
Speaker 2: They should be floating down rivers.
• 31:47
Speaker 3: Yes, they should be.
• 31:48
Speaker 2: They probably are actually killing doll new ones.
• 31:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, it's crazy.
• 31:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a I mean, it didn't even cross
• 31:57
Speaker 2: my mind. And the next time this is needed in
• 32:00
Speaker 2: my home when a woman needs it, I'm going to
• 32:02
  Speaker 2: be an absolute.
• 32:04
Speaker 3: We're going to be a hero.
• 32:06
Speaker 2: You're gonna be a giro. I'm going to be a giro.
• 32:09
Speaker 2: I will be a lamb and a delicious peda covered
• 32:12
Speaker 2: in a yogurt sauce. So that sounds bad, but this
• 32:15
  Speaker 2: is a.
• 32:17
Speaker 3: Also really I recently saw Carrie, so this was on
• 32:19
  Speaker 3: my mind.
• 32:19
  Speaker 2: Oh of course.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: That opening scene is pretty wild.
• 32:23
Speaker 2: That movie. I never saw the remake.
• 32:25
Speaker 3: Don't Don't do Not ever please, no, no disrespect to
• 32:30
Speaker 3: the people who did it, but there was no unnecessary Yeah,
• 32:33
  Speaker 3: it's like Carrie's masterpiece.
• 32:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so perfect and that Yeah, that opening scenems amazing.
• 32:37
  Speaker 3: It's amazing. And it's like there's a lot of naked
• 32:40
Speaker 3: bodies and it's like bush and titties.
• 32:42
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they really go for that.
• 32:44
Speaker 3: Yeah. Like Brian de Palmer said, you will see full
• 32:47
Speaker 3: female nudity and a lot of it right away. It's
• 32:50
  Speaker 3: pretty wild.
• 32:51
Speaker 2: Yeah that in the seventies, I feel like a male
• 32:53
Speaker 2: director could get away with that.
• 32:55
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 32:55
Speaker 2: While I was watching the Substance, I was like, if
• 32:58
Speaker 2: a man directed this, he should be a rested.
• 33:00
Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that it does like it is. It
• 33:05
Speaker 3: is reassuring that a woman director did that. But you know,
• 33:08
Speaker 3: she has a real she in her other movie Revenge Too,
• 33:11
Speaker 3: Like she loves butts, like she has the butt. Oh yeah,
• 33:17
Speaker 3: it is like leering and like that. That that lens
• 33:20
Speaker 3: is like but conscious, you know, and it's I was
• 33:25
Speaker 3: thinking about how stressful for Margaret quality that must have
• 33:27
Speaker 3: been the perfect version of denymore.
• 33:31
Speaker 2: Nightmare every day waking up and thinking and now my
• 33:34
Speaker 2: body has to be perfect.
• 33:35
Speaker 3: Yes, I mean I think that they did. Like they
• 33:38
Speaker 3: you know, they sort of shined it up and post
• 33:41
Speaker 3: a little bit, but you know it's like, fuck, that's
• 33:44
  Speaker 3: a lot.
• 33:44
Speaker 2: Of pressure and they didn't have any butt doubles. Movies
• 33:47
Speaker 2: will do that occasionally.
• 33:48
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think they did. Yeah, I don't think.
• 33:50
Speaker 2: So how is a butt double even found? Or is
• 33:53
Speaker 2: there like a casting director.
• 33:54
Speaker 3: Well, you think about like the people the team that
• 33:57
Speaker 3: are like the who stand in for during lighting tests.
• 34:01
Speaker 2: You know, it's like that kind of thing, right, But
• 34:02
Speaker 2: it's like do you go do you tell people you've
• 34:05
Speaker 2: got to look at my ass? This is perfect for Hollywood?
• 34:08
Speaker 2: Or is it somebody people scouting question?
• 34:11
Speaker 3: Maybe it's like a modeling gig.
• 34:13
Speaker 2: Oh that makes sense, kind of like with like hand models. Yes,
• 34:17
Speaker 2: that kind of thing.
• 34:18
Speaker 3: Oh my god, hand models. I mean if you've seen
• 34:20
Speaker 3: in foot models, oh.
• 34:22
Speaker 2: The most perfect hearts of bodies that you could possibly see.
• 34:25
Speaker 3: And then you look at your own hands, I'm like,
• 34:26
Speaker 3: oh my god, I the crypt keeper, right of course,
• 34:29
Speaker 3: my one hundred and fifty years old. Yeah, that tricksy
• 34:33
Speaker 3: is always getting on we'd like to put makeup on
• 34:35
Speaker 3: my hands because they're often translucent gray and purple. But yeah,
• 34:39
Speaker 3: like it's yeah, it's interesting to have like a perfect
• 34:41
Speaker 3: part of your body and like make that your.
• 34:43
Speaker 2: Career, right, I know it, Yeah, just like count on it.
• 34:46
Speaker 2: But it's got to be scary knowing that it will deteriorate.
• 34:49
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well the hands, especially of course age. That's
• 34:52
Speaker 3: why all the aging stars wear gloves now, they do,
• 34:56
  Speaker 3: I know.
• 34:57
Speaker 2: And a lot of people now are wearing gloves while driving.
• 35:00
Speaker 3: Oh but driving gloves or you know, I mean.
• 35:02
  Speaker 2: It's so chic.
• 35:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, get the Telly or Sini Oh Italian Italian brand,
• 35:08
Speaker 3: I don't know. They make exquisite leather gloves Telly Forcinilly. Okay,
• 35:14
Speaker 3: I believe it's still a thing. Oh my god, buttery Soft.
• 35:18
Speaker 2: Do you have a pair?
• 35:19
  Speaker 3: I have several?
• 35:20
Speaker 2: Are they in your glove box which I'm now it's
• 35:22
Speaker 2: just literally clicking that's where you have your driving.
• 35:24
Speaker 3: No, I've never had I've never driven with them. But
• 35:26
Speaker 3: they're black and red like driving gloves. Oh, they're so sexy.
• 35:31
Speaker 3: But I need to live in la When are you going,
• 35:33
Speaker 3: know where? Like when you when your hand's cold?
• 35:36
Speaker 2: Oh, that's true. You know, yeah, I get I get
• 35:38
  Speaker 2: cold feet circulation.
• 35:41
Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, do you have clammy hands?
• 35:44
  Speaker 1: No?
• 35:44
  Speaker 2: Really dry?
• 35:45
Speaker 3: I'm so jealous. Do your feme like ship at the
• 35:48
Speaker 3: end of the day. No, do yours like the cat's ass? Yeah,
• 35:53
Speaker 3: because I'm sweaty and gross. It's always like I somebody
• 35:56
Speaker 3: wanted to hold my hand. It was tricksy. She wanted
• 35:59
Speaker 3: a like grab my hand. I was like, you don't
• 36:01
Speaker 3: want to do that, and she grabbed it anything. She's like,
• 36:02
Speaker 3: oh my god, I just like.
• 36:05
Speaker 2: I told you this frictionless service.
• 36:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really gross.
• 36:10
Speaker 2: I might invest in some driving gloves.
• 36:12
Speaker 3: Or opera length or all the way up to the shoulder.
• 36:15
Speaker 2: This podcast is very glove oriented, actually because I have
• 36:17
Speaker 2: to do demonstrations with gifts and for the on Instagram,
• 36:21
Speaker 2: I'll frequently have this. I have a particular pair of
• 36:23
Speaker 2: gloves that are now filthy. They're like white opera gloves,
• 36:27
  Speaker 2: but no, it's it's probably like a cotton with a
• 36:31
Speaker 2: little imbrota. You would not believe how dirty they are.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: I do. I would believe it.
• 36:38
Speaker 3: White cotton gloves is just asking for it.
• 36:41
Speaker 2: And about half of our listeners are constantly demanding that
• 36:43
Speaker 2: I washed them, and the other half are like, let
• 36:45
Speaker 2: them get as dirty as possible. I accidentally washed one
• 36:48
Speaker 2: the other day because I took them to New York
• 36:49
Speaker 2: and then one snuck into a pair of pants and
• 36:51
Speaker 2: got washed, kind of a hopeful story for the club.
• 36:55
Speaker 2: I was like, oh no, I left it in New York.
• 36:56
Speaker 2: Then I took laundry and I was like, no, it's
• 36:57
Speaker 2: kind of cleaning. And so I guess I'm sad spying
• 37:00
Speaker 2: both audiences. Now one's clean, one's filthy.
• 37:02
Speaker 3: That's great. Oh yeah, right, that's nice. But you should
• 37:06
Speaker 3: you deserve a pair of like beautiful buttery soft opera
• 37:11
Speaker 3: like up to the shoulder length red leather gloves from Italy.
• 37:16
Speaker 2: Pulling those on every time I try, oh you will.
• 37:19
  Speaker 3: It's like, I mean, I don't know if you're like
• 37:21
Speaker 3: against you know, Vigan or whatever, anti whatever, anti leather,
• 37:23
Speaker 3: but they're so it's like, oh my god, they're so
• 37:28
Speaker 3: soft and they're so it's sumptuous.
• 37:32
Speaker 2: Oh it sounds lovely. Kind of just a spa day
• 37:35
Speaker 2: for your entire arm. Yeah, but what are you thinking
• 37:39
Speaker 2: when a friend pulls up to your house and you
• 37:41
Speaker 2: see them wearing driving gloves? Do you think what's going on?
• 37:43
Speaker 2: Are you're like, oh cool?
• 37:44
Speaker 3: Are we? I was like, I would probably think like
• 37:47
Speaker 3: are we? Is this an old timey movie or something.
• 37:50
Speaker 3: I don't know anybody who could really pull that up right.
• 37:54
Speaker 2: It feels like such an affect. It's just like a.
• 37:55
Speaker 3: Jimmy Stewart, Carrie Grant, Jimmy Dean kind of thing, or
• 38:00
  Speaker 3: like I don't know, like I don't who is driving?
• 38:04
Speaker 3: But also what's the outfit?
• 38:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, I really has to match the whole.
• 38:07
Speaker 3: Little It's not like it's not like ath leisure, right, if.
• 38:10
Speaker 2: You're just in your pajamas driving out with this beautiful
• 38:12
  Speaker 2: pair of gloves.
• 38:12
Speaker 3: What do you think? I have to ask you? What
• 38:14
Speaker 3: is your opinion on people who wear foot flops in public?
• 38:17
  Speaker 3: In LA?
• 38:18
  Speaker 2: It's a very it's a tricky line to walk. I'll say.
• 38:21
Speaker 2: I feel like there are certain people I'm like, Wow,
• 38:24
Speaker 2: they're just comfortable with what they're doing. Then there's other
• 38:28
Speaker 2: are other people who I'm like, you could pull it
• 38:30
Speaker 2: together a little bit more, and you should give give
• 38:33
Speaker 2: it ten percent more effort.
• 38:35
Speaker 3: Put on a shoe.
• 38:36
Speaker 2: Put on a shoe, please. I I'm trying to think
• 38:39
Speaker 2: if I've ever wornd I mean, certainly in the past
• 38:41
  Speaker 2: I have, but I don't think I would now. I
• 38:43
Speaker 2: think my feet are hideous, okay, and I don't want
• 38:46
Speaker 2: people looking at them. Yeah, And also it just feels
• 38:50
Speaker 2: too casual. It's just not I'm not on the beach, right,
• 38:54
Speaker 2: and LA streets are absolutely feilfilthy. What's your take?
• 38:58
  Speaker 3: I think that, I mean, I have. I have been
• 39:00
Speaker 3: known to like walk out of the house to go
• 39:02
Speaker 3: collect something from a like the car right outside, like
• 39:06
Speaker 3: run out to get the mail in slides with my
• 39:09
Speaker 3: photix pose I do. I'm now really kind of solidly
• 39:13
Speaker 3: in the camp of don't ever wear them because it's
• 39:16
Speaker 3: you're like disgusting, because it's just gross, it's filthy, and
• 39:20
  Speaker 3: I think it's I have more of a problem with
• 39:22
Speaker 3: that than not washing your hands after using the bathroom
• 39:24
Speaker 3: in a public restroom.
• 39:25
Speaker 2: That actually makes sense. My dick is not that dirty, right,
• 39:28
Speaker 2: everyone's basically kind of clean, hopefully.
• 39:31
Speaker 3: Yeah. I've showered like once or twice every day. Right,
• 39:34
Speaker 3: my generals This, sorry is gross, but my generals are
• 39:37
Speaker 3: probably the cleanest part of my.
• 39:38
Speaker 2: Body, right, you know what I mean? Just like and I.
• 39:41
Speaker 3: Like I don't really touch the apparatus.
• 39:43
Speaker 2: Wow, you're making a very good point here. Well, everyone stopped.
• 39:48
Speaker 3: I was listening to the podcast I listened to all
• 39:49
Speaker 3: the time, and they were they were incredulous, or like
• 39:53
Speaker 3: the amount of people it's a movie podcast and is
• 39:55
Speaker 3: like they were both saying, the amount of people I
• 39:57
Speaker 3: see walking out of the men's room or the women's
• 39:59
Speaker 3: room without washing your hands, it's like seventy percent. It's disgusting,
• 40:03
  Speaker 3: it's unconscionable. It's filthy, it's gross, it's nasty. And I'm like, well,
• 40:08
Speaker 3: I think touching all of the fussts and the stuff
• 40:10
Speaker 3: is like nasty and like everything else, I just get
• 40:13
Speaker 3: in there. I don't. I just as little contact with
• 40:17
Speaker 3: the everything as possible. And then yeah, I don't know if.
• 40:20
Speaker 2: You washed yourself, that would be myself if you did.
• 40:25
Speaker 3: I know you always clean up the toilet.
• 40:28
Speaker 2: Oh okay, so now we're right now, this is dangerous territory.
• 40:31
Speaker 2: I do think you should be washing hands if you're
• 40:33
Speaker 2: cleaning up the toilet.
• 40:34
Speaker 3: But I'm using a lot of toilet paper.
• 40:36
Speaker 2: You've gotta be using a lot.
• 40:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's my hands. A lot of hands are
• 40:39
Speaker 3: not getting saturated with urine.
• 40:41
Speaker 2: Baseball, mit level of toilet.
• 40:43
Speaker 3: Of course, I have my mits on go everywhere. I
• 40:46
Speaker 3: think I'm digging myself into a really gross hole right
• 40:49
Speaker 3: now because I'm not making I mean I do sometimes
• 40:53
Speaker 3: wash my hands if I get up a plane, usually
• 40:55
Speaker 3: because of the plane, because of the plane disgusting the
• 40:58
  Speaker 3: planes discussed.
• 40:59
Speaker 2: Yes, you know war so no, I mean, I I
• 41:03
Speaker 2: can see your argument here.
• 41:05
Speaker 3: I'm definitely saying like the world is disgusting.
• 41:09
Speaker 2: And yeah, like if you're walking around in La almost barefoot,
• 41:12
Speaker 2: you were walking through minimum animal p likely human pee.
• 41:19
Speaker 3: And if you're in San Francisco, there's a lot of
• 41:20
  Speaker 3: human shit.
• 41:21
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean all of this is happening constantly
• 41:24
Speaker 2: on these streets, on the sidewalks. And then you're like,
• 41:27
Speaker 2: if you're not showering before bed, Oh do you.
• 41:30
  Speaker 3: Shower before No?
• 41:31
  Speaker 2: I don't. But I've wear shoes in bed. I should
• 41:36
Speaker 2: you make a very good point. I'll be ready to
• 41:38
Speaker 2: go completely naked, choose.
• 41:42
Speaker 3: Laced loafers, you know, like from floor shine, ready for
• 41:47
Speaker 3: super shiny like dress shoes. Well, my grandmother was so
• 41:51
Speaker 3: hyper vigilant she would like sleep with one leg on
• 41:53
Speaker 3: the floor. Wow, I mean like she would be like this,
• 41:55
Speaker 3: Like I mean perched and prepped like at a moment's
• 41:59
Speaker 3: notice to just fly out of bed. I don't think
• 42:01
Speaker 3: it did her a lot.
• 42:02
Speaker 2: Of good in that, like the long run, now time
• 42:04
Speaker 2: still got her. No, do you shower before bed?
• 42:10
Speaker 3: I think it depends on what I do during the day.
• 42:14
  Speaker 3: I think I'm generally more of a dirty person. I'm
• 42:17
Speaker 3: not OCD. I'm the opposite of OCD, which I think
• 42:19
  Speaker 3: is a pig. And I don't like I'm glad. I'm
• 42:23
Speaker 3: not like super No.
• 42:25
Speaker 2: I mean like like it's kind of paralyzing.
• 42:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really tough, and I think so, although sometimes
• 42:31
Speaker 3: it does does prevent me from allowing people in my
• 42:33
Speaker 3: home because like, for example, if like my friend came
• 42:36
Speaker 3: over the other day and I had anxiety, I was like,
• 42:39
Speaker 3: and I couldn't tell him not to go upstairs because
• 42:41
Speaker 3: I know he would. So now I'm thinking of like
• 42:44
Speaker 3: doing like a chain or like a gate or something.
• 42:46
Speaker 3: Because my bathroom was like looked like the room from Saw.
• 42:51
Speaker 3: It was so gross eye yeah, like so gross, like
• 42:54
Speaker 3: shamefully and like gross, like you need help, like professional help. Gross.
• 42:58
Speaker 3: But but then I, you know, I go through phases
• 43:00
Speaker 3: where I clean it and it's fine. Yeah, I are
• 43:04
  Speaker 3: you super clean?
• 43:05
  Speaker 2: I'm very tidy. I wouldn't say like a clean freak,
• 43:07
Speaker 2: but like I like things to be put away at
• 43:09
Speaker 2: the very least. But like getting out the lysol and
• 43:12
Speaker 2: like the bleach and everything to clean the house is
• 43:14
Speaker 2: not happening. I'll vacuum. Oh wait, we gotta talk about vacuums. Oh,
• 43:19
Speaker 2: I love to talk about vacuum.
• 43:21
Speaker 3: I recently learned. I recently learned the good news. I
• 43:26
Speaker 3: recently am like a born again vacuum person because for
• 43:30
Speaker 3: the longest time I thought, oh my god, of course
• 43:31
Speaker 3: it's the dice in, very fuck that dice in. It's
• 43:35
  Speaker 3: the meala. What's this? M I E L E. Not paid,
• 43:39
Speaker 3: They don't know anything about me. But it is the
• 43:42
  Speaker 3: only vacuum.
• 43:43
Speaker 2: Now, is this a bag vacuum?
• 43:44
Speaker 3: See here's the thing. Yes, and it's a quarded vacuum, which,
• 43:47
Speaker 3: if you're used to the battery powered not courted. But
• 43:51
Speaker 3: it's a tough transition. But guess what, this vacuum actually
• 43:54
Speaker 3: fucking works, whereas the diceon doesn't fucking work. And if
• 43:58
Speaker 3: you put it on a high that battery that'll give
• 44:01
Speaker 3: you about thirty eight seconds of activity. I'm battery powered.
• 44:05
Speaker 2: You've got that, you're gonna be recharging constantly.
• 44:07
Speaker 3: You put it on high, it's literally ten seconds.
• 44:10
Speaker 2: Then at you're exhausted.
• 44:12
Speaker 3: It's horrible. I get that. The convenience is very seductive.
• 44:15
Speaker 3: The lack of cord is very seductive.
• 44:17
Speaker 2: Go anywhere, take it on your.
• 44:19
Speaker 3: Trip, absolutely, you know. But and it is quite an
• 44:23
Speaker 3: adjustment because I'm a big vacuumer. I love the vacuum,
• 44:26
Speaker 3: and and the cord is is a real and it's
• 44:29
  Speaker 3: a little heavy, and it's it's it's it's you know,
• 44:32
Speaker 3: but it works, it works, and it's expensive.
• 44:35
Speaker 2: How much does it cost?
• 44:36
Speaker 3: The one I bought was eight hundred dollars.
• 44:38
  Speaker 2: Eight hundred dollars.
• 44:39
Speaker 3: I'm going to buy a vacuum. I'm never going to
• 44:41
Speaker 3: buy a vacuum. I'm never going to buy the right
• 44:43
Speaker 3: and the amount of time I use it, Oh, it's incredible.
• 44:46
Speaker 3: When you go to the store, they pour a bunch
• 44:48
Speaker 3: of kitty litter on the floor to like do the demonstration,
• 44:51
Speaker 3: and you're like, okay, I'll take it because it just works.
• 44:56
Speaker 2: What store is this?
• 44:57
  Speaker 3: The vacuum store?
• 44:58
Speaker 2: I have to go. I want that it's.
• 44:59
Speaker 3: In it's called I think it's called Beverly Hills Vacuum
• 45:03
Speaker 3: and it's on Santa Monica Boulevard towards Beverly Hills.
• 45:08
Speaker 2: Did you expect this whole demo?
• 45:10
  Speaker 3: I did not.
• 45:11
  Speaker 2: Sound's delightful.
• 45:12
Speaker 3: Alwa was incredible. He was like an old dude. It's
• 45:14
Speaker 3: a small story. He's amazing, and he'll like show you
• 45:17
Speaker 3: all the models. And it looks like it like a
• 45:19
Speaker 3: fifties housewife kind of thing. Literally like really retro looking
• 45:22
Speaker 3: like the Smeg refrigerators.
• 45:24
Speaker 2: Oh I love yeah, yeah, I actually listened not to
• 45:27
Speaker 2: brag to an episode of a podcast about vacuums.
• 45:29
Speaker 3: What were they saying.
• 45:31
Speaker 2: Essentially what you're saying right now. You don't want to
• 45:33
Speaker 2: get one of these, like uh, I don't cordless, the
• 45:36
Speaker 2: cordless or the clear thing that shows you how much
• 45:39
Speaker 2: dust is going into it. They're like, get the old
• 45:41
  Speaker 2: fashioned ones.
• 45:42
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 45:42
Speaker 2: And the other thing they say on it is the
• 45:44
Speaker 2: best vacuuming is done as you're pulling backwards. Oh and
• 45:48
Speaker 2: this song was coming from a vacuum expert.
• 45:50
Speaker 3: That may kind of sense though, because it's you're not pushing.
• 45:54
Speaker 2: Right and you feel the drag, you really feel it
• 45:56
  Speaker 2: sucking things.
• 45:57
Speaker 3: And then it's got the attachments, the ones for the rug,
• 45:59
Speaker 3: one for the hardwood floor, and the difference is so like, ooh,
• 46:04
Speaker 3: it's just so satisfying.
• 46:06
  Speaker 2: Eight hundred dollars.
• 46:08
Speaker 3: It was eight hundred and fifty dollars to attacked. Yeah, it
• 46:10
Speaker 3: was like I was like, oof, and I know what,
• 46:12
Speaker 3: that's out of people's price range.
• 46:14
Speaker 2: But Dyson's are like four hundred dollars, right, I mean,
• 46:17
Speaker 2: a regular vacuum is not that cheap.
• 46:19
Speaker 3: No, And it's a very important part of a person
• 46:22
Speaker 3: with a homes life.
• 46:23
Speaker 2: It's a sort of like purchase like a mattress, where
• 46:25
Speaker 2: you're like, well, I'm using this concept.
• 46:27
Speaker 3: Ye, it's like a car purchase, right.
• 46:29
Speaker 2: I think you just justify it by like being don't
• 46:32
Speaker 2: I don't spend any money. I use this every single day. Yes,
• 46:35
Speaker 2: And so it's essentially since for a day.
• 46:38
Speaker 3: Absolutely, if you break it down, it's really like probably
• 46:40
Speaker 3: like ten rubles a day.
• 46:42
Speaker 2: Ten For ten rubles a day, you will be sucking
• 46:45
Speaker 2: up as much catlet as you want.
• 46:46
Speaker 3: Everything, all that shit will get sucked up. It really
• 46:49
  Speaker 3: really works.
• 46:50
Speaker 2: So how long have you owned this vacuum? For?
• 46:53
Speaker 3: About two years now?
• 46:55
  Speaker 1: Oh?
• 46:55
Speaker 3: Okay, and I have no complaints.
• 46:57
Speaker 2: And was your house pretty dusty before? That was the
• 46:59
Speaker 2: vacuum not doing job well?
• 47:00
Speaker 3: I also sew in my I sewstomes in my home,
• 47:05
Speaker 3: so there's sequence everywhere.
• 47:07
Speaker 2: Means just notions, notions.
• 47:11
Speaker 3: Threads in carpet, right, So I really need that extra suckage.
• 47:15
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 47:15
Speaker 3: It just really gets me. It really does its job.
• 47:18
  Speaker 3: I love it.
• 47:19
Speaker 2: I know. I think vacuuming is a very satisfying chore.
• 47:23
Speaker 2: You see the results immediately.
• 47:25
Speaker 3: It is immediate. Yeah, the dopamine hit is like yeah right,
• 47:31
Speaker 3: like damn, bam, damn sustained, Like awesome.
• 47:34
Speaker 2: Did you mow lawns as a kid.
• 47:36
  Speaker 3: I've never mowed a lawn.
• 47:38
  Speaker 2: It's a similar thing where you're like, oh, I'm seeing
• 47:40
Speaker 2: how clean, Like it's cleaning things up. I'm just I'm
• 47:43
Speaker 2: essentially just pushing something and it's the results are here.
• 47:46
  Speaker 2: I don't have to wait.
• 47:47
Speaker 3: But doesn't it like fling the grass like.
• 47:50
Speaker 2: It depends on the lawnmower. The one I would use
• 47:53
Speaker 2: as a kid had a bag that had to be empty.
• 47:55
Speaker 3: To gotch job. That's that freshly?
• 47:58
Speaker 2: Oh, the smell is so nice. You're out in the sun.
• 48:01
  Speaker 2: No complaints?
• 48:02
Speaker 3: What about what about the buggy or like the drive.
• 48:06
Speaker 2: What is that called a wheeled lawn no way, sit down,
• 48:11
  Speaker 2: sit down lawnmower?
• 48:15
  Speaker 3: A tractor.
• 48:16
  Speaker 2: I don't know. That's rich people don't know what is
• 48:20
Speaker 2: that called. Is there an official thing for a lawnmower
• 48:23
  Speaker 2: that you drive.
• 48:24
Speaker 3: Either a ride on mower or tractor mower?
• 48:26
Speaker 2: Tractor? Right? I don't think I would like that as much.
• 48:33
  Speaker 3: M I mean, I think it's like that to me
• 48:35
Speaker 3: is in the same the same family as snowmobiles, and
• 48:37
Speaker 3: that's scary to me.
• 48:38
Speaker 2: But to be driving a lawnmower that goes as fast
• 48:41
Speaker 2: as a snowmobile, now there's an adventure.
• 48:43
Speaker 3: You will get a lot done in a day.
• 48:46
Speaker 2: My god, that feels like terrify her.
• 48:47
Speaker 3: For ye totally, Oh my god.
• 48:50
Speaker 2: A clown on a ride on?
• 48:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, oh well there was that. There was that movie
• 48:56
Speaker 3: where this the little child mode over her parents. Oh
• 49:01
  Speaker 3: but I don't think it was. I don't think it
• 49:02
Speaker 3: was the tractor style.
• 49:03
Speaker 2: I think it was the right Oh, okay, okay, well
• 49:06
Speaker 2: the movies. I think we have a new idea for
• 49:08
Speaker 2: the movie business. Somebody drive over someone.
• 49:10
Speaker 3: Yes, and it could Hey listen, Damien Leone, please cast
• 49:14
Speaker 3: me in The Terrifier Part four and you can. I
• 49:17
Speaker 3: was trying to think of, like what it would be
• 49:18
Speaker 3: a fun way to kill me as a drag queen,
• 49:21
Speaker 3: And I'm like, I think he should like maybe like
• 49:24
Speaker 3: take my little heels and like gouge him in my
• 49:26
Speaker 3: eyeballs and then like and then have Art like punch
• 49:29
Speaker 3: a hole through my mouth in the back of my
• 49:31
Speaker 3: head and then stick my wig like through it and out.
• 49:34
  Speaker 3: I don't know, like it'd be so cool. I really
• 49:36
Speaker 3: want to get killed by Art the clown. I'm just
• 49:39
Speaker 3: trying to put it out there.
• 49:39
Speaker 2: The next scene, I am run over by a lawnmar
• 49:43
Speaker 2: going seventy miles an hour. Yes, it's incredibly really, I mean, actually,
• 49:47
Speaker 2: do you know what I was going to ask you
• 49:48
Speaker 2: or tell you. I just recently saw for the first
• 49:51
Speaker 2: time The Hand that Rocks the Cradle? Oh my, how
• 49:54
Speaker 2: have I gone this long without saying this movie?
• 49:57
Speaker 3: Oh my god, delightful. In know Rebecca de Mornay is, Oh,
• 50:03
Speaker 3: Julianne Moore was fabulous than that.
• 50:05
Speaker 2: I'm surprised I didn't even know she was in it.
• 50:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like, oh, oh my god. When she's like
• 50:10
Speaker 3: she comes home, She's like where the fuck is clear?
• 50:13
Speaker 3: She's in the greenhouse, and it's like, oh my god.
• 50:16
Speaker 3: And then what she says to Solomon Peyton Flanners, which
• 50:20
Speaker 3: she's I cannot repeat it here, but she is so,
• 50:24
Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's so.
• 50:26
Speaker 2: And then she kind of cracks the case with the
• 50:27
Speaker 2: wind window. It's so funny.
• 50:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm looking for windshine, you know, I can get one.
• 50:32
Speaker 3: Missus Motte, oh so cunty. And it's just like, I
• 50:37
Speaker 3: don't know, if you know. I always like these, like
• 50:40
Speaker 3: beloved of movies of mine from the nineties. Sometimes I
• 50:43
Speaker 3: rewatch them. I'm like, oh god, this is trash, but
• 50:46
Speaker 3: I love that movie.
• 50:47
Speaker 2: It's very fun. I've told a couple other people that
• 50:50
Speaker 2: I watched it recently and they said to me, oh,
• 50:52
Speaker 2: it's so scary, and that was one element. I was like, no,
• 50:54
Speaker 2: it's not. It's very fun to watch.
• 50:57
  Speaker 3: Hayten Flanders.
• 50:59
  Speaker 2: That's what it's.
• 51:00
  Speaker 3: What's what a pseudonym?
• 51:01
  Speaker 2: I mean?
• 51:01
Speaker 3: If you're like that does that? That sounds very like
• 51:04
Speaker 3: I won't kill you if my name.
• 51:05
Speaker 2: Is completely asking anything about Peyton Flanders.
• 51:08
Speaker 3: Peyton Flanders, the breast Pump, the windshime. A lot of
• 51:12
Speaker 3: like little clues in that movie.
• 51:14
Speaker 2: Of course, her appearing from behind the school bus to
• 51:17
Speaker 2: be the nanny. Hello, I'm just a normal woman who
• 51:20
Speaker 2: wants a nanny job off the street. Yeah crazy, don't
• 51:24
Speaker 2: ask any questions. No, it's such a good time watching.
• 51:27
Speaker 3: The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that
• 51:29
Speaker 3: rules the world. I've never heard that before. That's not expression.
• 51:32
Speaker 3: It's not an expression. It's not an expression.
• 51:35
Speaker 2: That's so not a pillow somewhere. I mean, it sounds
• 51:38
Speaker 2: so much like a real expression, though, you're like, oh,
• 51:40
Speaker 2: I guess I just never heard that one. But it's
• 51:43
Speaker 2: also so evil sounding.
• 51:44
  Speaker 3: It's like what so I mean, it's like a really
• 51:46
Speaker 3: evil premise too, Like she's sexually assaulted by a gynecologist,
• 51:50
Speaker 3: and then and then that guy of colleges is out
• 51:53
Speaker 3: it commits suicide, and then his his widowed wife gets
• 51:57
Speaker 3: revenge on the woman who who like out.
• 52:00
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 52:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like really fucked up, really really fucked up,
• 52:06
Speaker 3: very confused. The morning fucking plays evil very well.
• 52:10
  Speaker 2: Oh, she's fantastic.
• 52:11
Speaker 3: Cutting that apple with the knife in.
• 52:13
Speaker 2: Like, oh, anybody cutting an apple with a knife, you
• 52:16
Speaker 2: know something's up, something that's going up. They're going to
• 52:19
Speaker 2: steal your husband or kill you in the house.
• 52:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, they're they're breastfeeding your child. Yeah yeah, and they're
• 52:25
Speaker 3: they're sabotaging your friends. Yeah, it's crazy. What's your favorite movie?
• 52:30
Speaker 3: We'll say from the.
• 52:31
Speaker 2: Nineties, From the nineties, okay, I mean I could maybe
• 52:35
Speaker 2: we just say from the eighties, just so so I
• 52:37
  Speaker 2: have an answer. I would say, I love It's it's
• 52:41
Speaker 2: probably a tie between After Hours and King of Comedy.
• 52:44
Speaker 3: I have seen neither of them.
• 52:45
  Speaker 2: Neither of them.
• 52:46
Speaker 3: No, they're delightful, I'm sure. Is that Martin movies.
• 52:51
Speaker 2: And they're both like very out of his normal thing
• 52:54
Speaker 2: because they're kind of like surreal comedies, and they're both
• 52:59
Speaker 2: very funny, but very strange and like immediately entertaining in
• 53:03
Speaker 2: the way the eighties movies are where you're like, there's
• 53:05
Speaker 2: no boredom, you're just in.
• 53:07
Speaker 3: You love a movie that has not one extra fucking.
• 53:10
Speaker 2: Scene, like, no superpose.
• 53:12
Speaker 3: Moments, not one fucking sentence doesn't belong there, you know.
• 53:16
Speaker 2: Control it's great. What's your favorite movie?
• 53:20
Speaker 3: If I had, my quick answer is Witches of Eastwick.
• 53:22
Speaker 2: I've never seen it.
• 53:23
Speaker 3: It's fucking great And what every scenes fabri.
• 53:26
Speaker 2: Tonally is it creepy? Is it fun it's it's the
• 53:29
  Speaker 2: super it's a it's a it's a.
• 53:31
  Speaker 3: I mean, it's a thriller kind of. It's it's funny,
• 53:35
Speaker 3: it's sexy. It's like it's three women who discovered that
• 53:40
Speaker 3: they're witches and then that they conjure the devil to
• 53:43
Speaker 3: move into their small New England town played by Jack Nicholson,
• 53:46
Speaker 3: and then they become like this sex like well, I
• 53:51
  Speaker 3: won't give it away, but it's amazing. And there's it's
• 53:54
Speaker 3: like cher Michelle fiv Ver, Susan Sarandon, Veronica Cartwright, who's
• 53:57
Speaker 3: a choose up the scenery something. Jenkins who plays he's great,
• 54:05
Speaker 3: and Jack Nicholson is just he is Jack Nicholson ing
• 54:08
  Speaker 3: in this movie.
• 54:09
Speaker 2: He's such a good pull for the devil.
• 54:10
Speaker 3: He is so incredible in this role.
• 54:13
Speaker 2: Oh, I've got to see.
• 54:14
Speaker 3: You have to see it.
• 54:15
Speaker 2: Sounds delightful, you have to see it.
• 54:17
Speaker 3: The CG at the end is very unfortunate. Okay, right
• 54:21
Speaker 3: at the last bit, it gets very bad. It's just
• 54:24
Speaker 3: not they didn't really have that back then. It's like
• 54:27
  Speaker 3: an eighty eight.
• 54:28
Speaker 2: I think there are certain movies I remember, like that
• 54:30
Speaker 2: whole Star Wars situation where they replace all of the
• 54:33
Speaker 2: special effects with like CG and it was a giant disaster.
• 54:36
Speaker 2: But I feel like if a movie has bad CG,
• 54:38
Speaker 2: we should go back and help him out right.
• 54:40
Speaker 3: I was like, you know, it's funny like this movie.
• 54:43
Speaker 3: Because of that, I think, oh, it should be Redone.
• 54:45
Speaker 3: It was like, no, because you cannot replace those three women.
• 54:49
  Speaker 3: That's a trifecta.
• 54:50
Speaker 2: That cannot No, you're not going to find them again.
• 54:52
Speaker 2: Who would that possibly be?
• 54:53
Speaker 3: No, I mean it had to be like Emma Stone,
• 54:57
Speaker 3: there's not share is so share in in this movie.
• 55:01
Speaker 3: She's so fucking good.
• 55:03
Speaker 2: Oh, I'm so excited. Maybe this is to share. Oh
• 55:07
Speaker 2: she's as an actor. Oh my god, she's Moonstruck is phenomenal.
• 55:10
Speaker 3: Yeah. My film critic friend and an author, she I
• 55:14
Speaker 3: was like having a tough time at while ago, and
• 55:15
Speaker 3: she's like, hey, if you really need like a pick
• 55:17
Speaker 3: me up, one of the like never feel good, feel
• 55:19
Speaker 3: good movies is Moonstruck. And I'd never seen it before,
• 55:21
Speaker 3: and she was one hundred percent right.
• 55:23
  Speaker 2: So charming.
• 55:24
Speaker 3: It's charming, and it's lovely, and it's like an ethnic comedy.
• 55:27
Speaker 2: It's just so lovely and the mood is just right.
• 55:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, Nicholas Cage is so funny and hot in it.
• 55:32
Speaker 2: He can be so funny. Yes, I love Raising Arizona,
• 55:35
Speaker 2: me too, such a good movie.
• 55:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, what's your favorite horror movie?
• 55:39
Speaker 2: Favorite? Okay? So this probably The Haunting? Okay, or like
• 55:44
Speaker 2: if and like I said, if I want to be
• 55:46
Speaker 2: genuinely scared the strangers.
• 55:48
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and all I would live Tyler.
• 55:51
Speaker 2: With liv Tyler, and I'll say, this is not a
• 55:53
Speaker 2: horror movie, but it is so scary to me as Zodiac.
• 55:56
Speaker 2: I think the scariness of it is so well done
• 55:58
Speaker 2: that you're telling, Yes, what's your favorite horror movie?
• 56:03
Speaker 3: I would probably say I was want to say Candy Man,
• 56:05
Speaker 3: but it's not necessarily my like most like rewatchable horror movie.
• 56:10
Speaker 3: I like a night right now on Street part three. Okay,
• 56:13
Speaker 3: I've only seen the original Dream Warriors. I mean they
• 56:15
Speaker 3: all get cheesy, but like, yeah, no, no, I think
• 56:19
Speaker 3: the substance is definitely like up there. I think that's
• 56:23
Speaker 3: probably my favorite horror movie right now.
• 56:24
Speaker 2: Wow, yeah that makes sense. Yeah, but it also does
• 56:27
Speaker 2: oh oh no, go ahead.
• 56:29
Speaker 3: I mean it's not horror essentially, but kinds of kindness.
• 56:33
Speaker 2: Oh, I've only seen the first third of it.
• 56:34
  Speaker 3: Okay, there's there's another two.
• 56:36
Speaker 2: Yes. I kind of went just thinking, oh, I know
• 56:38
Speaker 2: this is three things, so I get to see one
• 56:39
Speaker 2: and I'll get to see the next two.
• 56:40
  Speaker 1: I need.
• 56:40
Speaker 3: I highly suggest you watch the next two because it's
• 56:43
Speaker 3: really it's an art film. Sure, I mean I can't like.
• 56:46
Speaker 3: I know my friends who like here not they don't
• 56:48
Speaker 3: watch subtitled movies or like you know that kind of
• 56:51
  Speaker 3: uncultured smiles.
• 56:52
  Speaker 2: Yeah, dumb people.
• 56:55
Speaker 3: They well, they hate it because it's like, what is
• 56:57
  Speaker 3: this right?
• 56:58
Speaker 2: I don't want to think about this after I leave.
• 57:00
Speaker 3: It was so I was electrifized.
• 57:02
Speaker 2: I really liked the first third. Oh my god, I
• 57:04
Speaker 2: didn't leave like, oh I have to get out of here.
• 57:06
Speaker 2: It was just couky oh cooky.
• 57:08
  Speaker 3: Your sex cult?
• 57:10
Speaker 2: Oh what yeah, no idea.
• 57:11
Speaker 3: When they test the purity of you by putting him
• 57:13
Speaker 3: in a super hot sona and then licking the salt
• 57:15
Speaker 3: from your belly button. Yes, did you see the part
• 57:19
Speaker 3: where she he makes her cut? No?
• 57:23
  Speaker 2: No, I don't think the second one you're in it's
• 57:27
Speaker 2: it really is a perfect thing because you can just
• 57:29
Speaker 2: dip in and watch a forty five minute movie.
• 57:32
  Speaker 3: I fucking love that because I'm like, I don't have
• 57:34
Speaker 3: the stamina or the endurance because I'm not on my
• 57:37
Speaker 3: if I'm watching a movie on my phone, of course,
• 57:39
Speaker 3: like I I'd rather just be on my phone right
• 57:42
  Speaker 3: and not.
• 57:42
Speaker 2: Have a movie. I have a problem looking and just
• 57:44
Speaker 2: wasting my life away, and I'm going to do that
• 57:46
  Speaker 2: rather than watch.
• 57:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll just doom scroll and get carpor Tone and
• 57:49
Speaker 3: crick Mates. But in the but the movie has nothing
• 57:51
Speaker 3: to do that. Plus, I don't want to watch a
• 57:53
Speaker 3: movie that makes me want to look at my phone.
• 57:55
Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, no no. That's why I have
• 57:57
Speaker 2: to go to a movie theater.
• 57:58
Speaker 3: I love the theater.
• 58:00
Speaker 2: But this is mine And I've said this a million
• 58:02
Speaker 2: times on this podcast. I have that like movie past
• 58:04
Speaker 2: thing or whatever, first stubs member subs remember yeah, And
• 58:07
Speaker 2: so if a movie is over three hours long or
• 58:09
Speaker 2: three hours, I only see the first half. Then I
• 58:11
Speaker 2: leave get on it. And if I like the first half,
• 58:13
Speaker 2: I'll go back. But you're not You are not bapping me.
• 58:16
  Speaker 3: Is very interesting.
• 58:18
Speaker 2: You gotta try it. The feeling of walking out halfway
• 58:20
Speaker 2: through it feels truly like you got out of jail.
• 58:23
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's like when I left when I cut
• 58:25
Speaker 3: school to watch Hanging Up the movie and then then
• 58:28
Speaker 3: left like forty five minutes in. But I rarely walk
• 58:32
Speaker 3: out of a theater. I walked out of Twisters. Oh
• 58:34
Speaker 3: you walk because I my friend. My friend and I
• 58:37
Speaker 3: were like, we're gonna go see this. We know it's
• 58:39
Speaker 3: gonna be bad. It was so bad, it's a very stupid.
• 58:43
Speaker 3: There is a line the mom more a Tyranny says
• 58:47
Speaker 3: she always loved Weather, talking about her daughter, like she
• 58:50
Speaker 3: always loved Weather, Like, what the fuck so bad? We
• 58:55
Speaker 3: walked out before even like the finale set piece was over,
• 58:58
Speaker 3: like let's get the fuck out of here. Have you
• 59:00
Speaker 3: walked out of movies because you hated them?
• 59:02
Speaker 2: Yes, there have been a couple when I can't remember
• 59:04
Speaker 2: what they were, but they were like they're the sort
• 59:06
Speaker 2: of movie everybody like this is an entertaining bat I'm
• 59:08
  Speaker 2: bored and it's enough. Yeah, it's like I don't need
• 59:11
Speaker 2: to be here anymore. But I wish I could think
• 59:13
Speaker 2: of them off the top of my head.
• 59:15
Speaker 3: You know, I was, and I was super tired, in
• 59:17
Speaker 3: a terrible mood when I saw May December, which I
• 59:19
Speaker 3: really regret because it's so good. It is like when
• 59:22
Speaker 3: I read a bunch of criticism about it. It's like, oh,
• 59:24
Speaker 3: that's not the movie I saw. Damn it. I need
• 59:26
Speaker 3: to rewatch it. Yeah, because it's kind of it's like again,
• 59:31
Speaker 3: not for like a dummy.
• 59:32
Speaker 2: Right, there's like a discomfort that like you have to Yeah,
• 59:36
Speaker 2: the nuance is the discomfort. You're like, oh, there's a
• 59:38
Speaker 2: reason for this. Yeah, that movie. I was shocked that
• 59:41
Speaker 2: I watched it through the entire thing at home without
• 59:44
Speaker 2: looking at my phone.
• 59:45
  Speaker 3: That's impressive.
• 59:47
Speaker 2: I mean, yes, all credit to me and not the movie.
• 59:49
Speaker 3: What about Killers of the Flower Moon? Who saw that
• 59:52
  Speaker 3: in the theater?
• 59:53
Speaker 2: Okay, now I have to do it reveals it. I
• 59:55
Speaker 2: went with people to see it, and I was trapped
• 59:57
Speaker 2: for the whole thing.
• 59:57
Speaker 3: Did you have a pea bag or catheter?
• 1:00:00
Speaker 2: I had to leave. I had to like walk out
• 1:00:01
Speaker 2: and pee halfway through the movie. Oh yeah, because you're like,
• 1:00:04
  Speaker 2: now I've lost a view.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 3: Part of it. It's a pivotal plot point, and then
• 1:00:07
Speaker 3: you have no reference for like the or contacts. I
• 1:00:10
Speaker 3: can't leave the theater. I can't leave the theater.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 2: I had read the book, so I knew what was going. Yeah, everyone,
• 1:00:17
Speaker 2: let's repeat that I had read the book. I read books,
• 1:00:22
Speaker 2: but and I will say, unfortunately the book is better.
• 1:00:25
Speaker 3: Okay, well, I mean it often is.
• 1:00:27
  Speaker 2: It's a I mean it's a it's also a history book,
• 1:00:29
Speaker 2: so the details are just way more interesting. But I
• 1:00:32
  Speaker 2: sat through, I think a Scorsese movie. You're like, I
• 1:00:34
Speaker 2: guess I'll give it to you. You're eighty years old
• 1:00:36
Speaker 2: and you made this thing. I'll watch your ninety hour film.
• 1:00:40
Speaker 3: She's almost four hours. That one that was like three
• 1:00:43
Speaker 3: and a half, good long hours.
• 1:00:44
Speaker 2: And you walk out of the theater and you're not
• 1:00:46
Speaker 2: in a different state.
• 1:00:47
Speaker 3: Oh it's it's so sad and horrible.
• 1:00:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, you should be traveling if it takes that long.
• 1:00:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the Great Airplane Movie.
• 1:00:54
Speaker 2: I've gotten really bad at watching airplane movies. I don't
• 1:00:56
Speaker 2: know why, Well do you do that thing?
• 1:00:57
Speaker 3: I know a lot of people do this. I for
• 1:00:59
Speaker 3: some reason do. I put on my own movie, but
• 1:01:02
Speaker 3: then I watched somebody else's movie.
• 1:01:03
  Speaker 2: Of course, you're distracted. I can't help, but I want
• 1:01:06
Speaker 2: to know what's going on in their brain that made
• 1:01:07
Speaker 2: them watch that movie.
• 1:01:08
Speaker 3: I watch it even if I don't want to watch it,
• 1:01:10
Speaker 3: Like I could have the movie I've always wanted to
• 1:01:13
Speaker 3: see on my screen. But then they're watching like Love
• 1:01:15
Speaker 3: Is Blind season three, and I'll have to watch it.
• 1:01:16
  Speaker 3: It's so weird.
• 1:01:17
Speaker 2: You want to know what's going on over there.
• 1:01:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm curious about Carol Cincinnati.
• 1:01:23
Speaker 2: I hope there's a Carol from Cincinnati on it.
• 1:01:26
Speaker 3: Of course there is.
• 1:01:28
  Speaker 2: She's ninety five.
• 1:01:31
Speaker 3: Have you ever seen somebody cry on an airplane?
• 1:01:33
Speaker 2: I've cried on an airplane because I think there have
• 1:01:37
Speaker 2: been some sort of studies where you're just like weirdly
• 1:01:39
Speaker 2: more emotional at Yeah, something happens to your body where
• 1:01:43
Speaker 2: it's like kind of like being sick. Because if I
• 1:01:45
Speaker 2: watch something while I'm sick.
• 1:01:46
  Speaker 3: I'll cry.
• 1:01:47
Speaker 2: I've cried at Shark Tank while having strapped throat.
• 1:01:50
Speaker 3: I remember, watched it like Toyota than commercials.
• 1:01:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, this sort of thing will just make me sob
• 1:01:56
Speaker 2: Have you ever seen, I mean you must have seen
• 1:01:58
Speaker 2: somebody crying on a plane?
• 1:01:59
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 1:02:00
Speaker 2: Was it like a hysterical No?
• 1:02:02
Speaker 3: No, not like a not like a whaling. Okay, not
• 1:02:05
Speaker 3: like a like a North Korean funeral whaling, not like that.
• 1:02:08
  Speaker 3: But like, i I'll definitely cry. I I'm you're right,
• 1:02:11
Speaker 3: I'm definitely more susceptible to like emotional. It gets sat
• 1:02:17
  Speaker 3: on airplanes.
• 1:02:18
Speaker 2: Like you could like be more manipulated, and I think
• 1:02:20
Speaker 2: that's why movies are more enjoyable on planes.
• 1:02:22
  Speaker 3: Yeah, flying sucks.
• 1:02:24
Speaker 2: It's the worst feeling in the world. It's getting worse
• 1:02:26
  Speaker 2: and worse.
• 1:02:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I was, I was, Uh my friend
• 1:02:30
Speaker 3: was telling me about how like back in the day,
• 1:02:31
Speaker 3: like on the Concord or whatever, it would be like,
• 1:02:34
Speaker 3: you know, smoking and like steak Diane and clams casino
• 1:02:37
Speaker 3: and people would be like, you know, no seatbells and
• 1:02:39
Speaker 3: they're swing dance and then the thing, you know, it's
• 1:02:41
Speaker 3: like a wild like crazy, yeah, exciting.
• 1:02:44
Speaker 2: Bring that bad Yeah, bring back the glamour.
• 1:02:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, bring back the people would dress up to go
• 1:02:49
Speaker 3: to the airport, you know, and like it would be
• 1:02:51
Speaker 3: a whole event and kind of like I don't know,
• 1:02:55
Speaker 3: like going out on a Saturday night and you know,
• 1:02:57
Speaker 3: smoking cigars and stuff.
• 1:02:59
Speaker 2: It's not worse than a bus.
• 1:03:01
Speaker 3: Oh, it's worse than It's way worse than a bus
• 1:03:04
Speaker 3: and scarier. Yeah, And I still just don't really understand
• 1:03:12
Speaker 3: why we have the farce of TSA and all that stuff.
• 1:03:14
Speaker 2: Oh that's also and I'm sorry, but the liquids, the
• 1:03:17
  Speaker 2: three ounces. I'm like, I'm we've got a.
• 1:03:20
Speaker 3: So crazy in a country that allows like gun violence.
• 1:03:24
Speaker 2: You know what I mean. You cannot take your shampoo.
• 1:03:26
Speaker 3: You cannot take four ounces of albaline makeup remover, but
• 1:03:32
Speaker 3: you can buy a gun today. Yeah, anyway, four guns
• 1:03:36
Speaker 3: today actually, Like it's so fucking crazy.
• 1:03:39
Speaker 2: And they won't even as far as I know, let
• 1:03:41
Speaker 2: you bring on like a larger bottle that has less
• 1:03:44
Speaker 2: than three ounces. If it's a larger bottle and still
• 1:03:46
Speaker 2: has liquid in it, that doesn't matter. They'll like you
• 1:03:48
Speaker 2: throw it away in the UK.
• 1:03:50
Speaker 3: Like traveling within England, they're so fucking strict in Australia
• 1:03:55
Speaker 3: to it's just so flop flops.
• 1:03:57
Speaker 2: And if you're I'm part of the pre check thing,
• 1:04:00
Speaker 2: I bother, let me take my things through.
• 1:04:02
Speaker 3: I'm a trusted traveler, very global entry. But I should
• 1:04:05
Speaker 3: be able to walk in with the machine exactly. I
• 1:04:08
Speaker 3: should be able to walk in with just strap with
• 1:04:12
Speaker 3: the water bottles, guns in my like guns in a holster,
• 1:04:16
Speaker 3: knives like flamethrower. Come on, wait, let me ask you
• 1:04:21
Speaker 3: have if you could have Oh, I have two questions.
• 1:04:25
Speaker 3: If you could become fluent in a language by chopping
• 1:04:28
Speaker 3: off one of your fingers. Oh, which would you and which.
• 1:04:33
Speaker 2: Finger or which language?
• 1:04:34
  Speaker 3: Both?
• 1:04:35
Speaker 2: Okay? I would probably do Uh. I would probably do
• 1:04:38
Speaker 2: my one of my ring fingers. I feel like that's
• 1:04:40
Speaker 2: probably the least necessary and I'm trying to think either
• 1:04:45
Speaker 2: practical or interesting, and I would probably go. I would
• 1:04:51
Speaker 2: probably pick Japanese, okay, because it's not as practical, it's
• 1:04:54
Speaker 2: not as useful as many places, but I think.
• 1:04:57
Speaker 3: It's an interesting, very handy in Japan.
• 1:04:59
Speaker 2: Yes, go to Japan almost nowhere else? What about you?
• 1:05:03
Speaker 3: I would probably, I mean I would want to give
• 1:05:06
Speaker 3: like a whole hand up I do. I would do
• 1:05:08
Speaker 3: both ring fingers that do Mandarin, and then I would
• 1:05:11
  Speaker 3: do Arabic.
• 1:05:12
Speaker 2: Oh, both probably difficult languages to learn exactly finish impossible,
• 1:05:18
  Speaker 2: you know.
• 1:05:18
Speaker 3: And then I would even though I know like I'm
• 1:05:20
Speaker 3: like beginner intermediate in Russian, I just want to be
• 1:05:23
Speaker 3: absolutely fluent in Russian. There's still a lot of places
• 1:05:25
Speaker 3: I speak person and then we do where pasta is
• 1:05:28
Speaker 3: like some Middle Eastern language, and then I think that's it.
• 1:05:34
Speaker 2: I would get fingers. I would have I would have
• 1:05:37
Speaker 2: like you'd be able to like open drawers, yeah, pitch
• 1:05:40
Speaker 2: people I'd have my.
• 1:05:41
Speaker 3: Like latex penguin gloves.
• 1:05:44
Speaker 2: I can't believe they don't have in the Penguin TV show.
• 1:05:46
Speaker 2: They should have done the finger thing at the very least.
• 1:05:49
Speaker 3: Okay, so what in the hell is it? Okay?
• 1:05:54
Speaker 2: Everything about your reaction right now is summing up how.
• 1:05:56
Speaker 3: I By the way, wait, I just have to say,
• 1:05:58
Speaker 3: I love press teach television. It keeps my blood red.
• 1:06:03
Speaker 3: I love I yearn and live for a Sunday night
• 1:06:07
Speaker 3: musty TV moment, of course, And now I don't know
• 1:06:09
Speaker 3: that doesn't exist anymore. Really, No, but these with these
• 1:06:12
Speaker 3: well produced, well written, big budget mega watts star awesome
• 1:06:16
Speaker 3: musty TV moments series, fucking love that ship. Love that ship.
• 1:06:21
Speaker 3: But the Penguin for me is not that it's where
• 1:06:27
Speaker 3: it's real. It wants to be grounded in reality. There's
• 1:06:29
Speaker 3: no supernatural elements whatsoever.
• 1:06:31
Speaker 2: There's a possibility for that. The guy is called the
• 1:06:33
Speaker 2: Penguin based on a character that usually has like a
• 1:06:36
Speaker 2: penguin assistant or something.
• 1:06:37
Speaker 3: Right, is he just he has a limp? That's why
• 1:06:39
Speaker 3: they call me kind of.
• 1:06:40
Speaker 2: Ugly and has a limp. He doesn't.
• 1:06:44
Speaker 3: Just love the cold, Yeah, I like he's just like
• 1:06:47
  Speaker 3: a mob guy.
• 1:06:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's kind of like a bad tony soprano.
• 1:06:50
Speaker 3: And it's Colin Farrell, Like that man is so hot. Yeah,
• 1:06:57
Speaker 3: she just cast an ugly actors. There's could have been
• 1:07:02
Speaker 3: Oh my god, so many incredible ugly actors, like especially men,
• 1:07:06
Speaker 3: tons like tons. But I just watched The Perfect Couple
• 1:07:11
Speaker 3: on Netflix, which I call Shitty Little Lotus because it's
• 1:07:15
Speaker 3: big Little Lives plus the White Lotus. But it doesn't
• 1:07:18
Speaker 3: watch about six minutes. My god, Nicole's wig is just
• 1:07:21
Speaker 3: so unwatched. It's just so it's so flagrant and horrible.
• 1:07:24
  Speaker 2: And it's like it's it's a category of like wanting
• 1:07:26
Speaker 2: to be campy that and that doesn't work for me.
• 1:07:29
Speaker 3: It just never finds the right It's it's like it's
• 1:07:32
  Speaker 3: shitty Little Lotus.
• 1:07:33
  Speaker 2: That's such a perfect Yeah.
• 1:07:35
Speaker 3: I think it is the perfect way to describe it.
• 1:07:36
Speaker 3: But I watched Shrinking.
• 1:07:38
  Speaker 2: Oh I haven't seen Shrinking.
• 1:07:39
Speaker 3: I adore it. Oh Harrison for Jason Siegel, and I
• 1:07:44
Speaker 3: can't remember the other actors well.
• 1:07:45
Speaker 2: Former guests of the show. Michael Ury's in it.
• 1:07:47
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I love he's fabulous. Yes, I met him a
• 1:07:50
Speaker 3: few times. He is fabulous in it. Great writing and lovable,
• 1:07:57
Speaker 3: funny characters, adult people saying adult words, having adult relationships
• 1:08:03
Speaker 3: grounded in reality like their therapists, and Michael Hurry is
• 1:08:07
Speaker 3: a lawyer and it it's just so. I love it
• 1:08:09
Speaker 3: so much. Oh, I watched The Holes whatever you can watch,
• 1:08:12
Speaker 3: I watched it all yesterday.
• 1:08:14
Speaker 2: Well, what a recommendation.
• 1:08:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, I highly recommend it. Harrison Board is like this
• 1:08:18
Speaker 3: older disgruntled therapist with Parkinson's, and Jason Siegel is like
• 1:08:22
  Speaker 3: a therapist too. It's just so, it's I love it. It's
• 1:08:25
Speaker 3: just a breath of fresh air.
• 1:08:27
Speaker 2: Have you watched Disclaimer?
• 1:08:28
Speaker 3: That came on automatically after I've finished shrinking. I don't
• 1:08:32
Speaker 3: know if I'm on board.
• 1:08:34
Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out if I like it or not.
• 1:08:36
Speaker 2: It reminds me. The thing I like is it reminds
• 1:08:38
Speaker 2: me a bit of like those like late nineties, early
• 1:08:40
Speaker 2: thousands thrillers for adults.
• 1:08:43
Speaker 3: Well, like Disclosure, Yes, Exclaim, that's what I think of,
• 1:08:46
  Speaker 3: Like indecent proposal.
• 1:08:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very much in that tone.
• 1:08:49
Speaker 3: I want it. I love that genre a movie where
• 1:08:52
Speaker 3: it's like those are movies.
• 1:08:54
Speaker 2: For adults, yes, strictly for like teenagers are gonna think
• 1:08:57
  Speaker 2: this is adult.
• 1:08:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like and sometimes they really fly off the
• 1:09:02
Speaker 3: like I would say Basic Instinct is one of those
• 1:09:04
Speaker 3: completely Oh my god. Really Paul Verhoven is like that
• 1:09:09
Speaker 3: motherfucker is crazy. Have you seen Benedetta?
• 1:09:13
Speaker 2: No, I haven't even heard of this.
• 1:09:14
  Speaker 3: Oh, it's I think it's his most recent film. It's
• 1:09:17
Speaker 3: a French movie, takes place in like the movie like
• 1:09:20
Speaker 3: sixteenth century in a convent, a lesbian noun thriller. Oh,
• 1:09:25
Speaker 3: stigmata like lesbian stigmata. None. And the lead of Virginie
• 1:09:31
Speaker 3: Fira is like this hot blonde actress And there's a
• 1:09:35
Speaker 3: moment where when she's a little girl, a statue of
• 1:09:38
Speaker 3: the Virgin Mary falls on her and she licks the tip.
• 1:09:44
  Speaker 3: It's great. It's a great I highly recommend it.
• 1:09:47
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:09:47
Speaker 3: Oh and Love Lies Bleeding? Have you seen that?
• 1:09:50
Speaker 2: Wait? Oh? I loved it.
• 1:09:52
  Speaker 3: Oh.
• 1:09:53
Speaker 2: I couldn't call it to mind because the title doesn't
• 1:09:55
Speaker 2: quite match what the movie is, right.
• 1:09:58
Speaker 3: I thought of it because she did her first movie
• 1:10:00
Speaker 3: Glass with Saint Maude, which, oh, that's fucking cool. Crisp
• 1:10:05
  Speaker 3: eighty nine minutes.
• 1:10:07
Speaker 2: And Love Life Is Bleeding is kind of in that
• 1:10:08
  Speaker 2: same category.
• 1:10:09
Speaker 3: What about Ed Harrison that, oh, he's so chomping and
• 1:10:13
Speaker 3: chomping it up, so that motherfucker is so grizzled and
• 1:10:17
Speaker 3: to such glorious effect.
• 1:10:19
Speaker 2: Such a character character, and the movie is just entertaining
• 1:10:23
Speaker 2: from start to finish and has the ending is like,
• 1:10:25
Speaker 2: I'm like, they earned this bizarre thing that's happening.
• 1:10:27
  Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's dirty, it's horny, it's nasty, it's kind
• 1:10:30
Speaker 3: of it's weird, it's like outrageous. I loved it. Yes,
• 1:10:34
Speaker 3: Christen Stewart is a raunchy dike.
• 1:10:36
Speaker 2: She's so good in this And who's the bodybuilding?
• 1:10:40
Speaker 3: No, I'm not sure what her name is, just fabulous,
• 1:10:42
  Speaker 3: she's really good.
• 1:10:43
Speaker 2: I feel like kat O'Brien, Katie O'Brien, good old Katie O'Brien,
• 1:10:46
Speaker 2: Kati O'Brien reach out. Yes, I wonder if this is
• 1:10:50
  Speaker 2: her first movie.
• 1:10:51
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 1:10:51
Speaker 2: I'm interesting because I had never heard of her and
• 1:10:53
Speaker 2: I was like, this person is fabulous, unbelievable.
• 1:10:56
Speaker 3: Wait, someone mentioned the other day like this, uh, the
• 1:11:00
Speaker 3: trend of actors who are doing these Marvel movies or
• 1:11:02
Speaker 3: action movies when they do go in the press junket
• 1:11:05
Speaker 3: and they're talking about all the unseasoned chicken they had
• 1:11:07
Speaker 3: to eat. Oh right, just say you did fucking steroids. Yes,
• 1:11:12
Speaker 3: you did steroids. We all know you took steroids. Yes,
• 1:11:16
Speaker 3: like you got anabolic steroids to create this body.
• 1:11:19
Speaker 2: Because it's literally impossible otherwise.
• 1:11:21
Speaker 3: Because in nine months you can't go from a relatively
• 1:11:25
Speaker 3: regular kind of fit human body to Arnold Schwartzene.
• 1:11:29
  Speaker 2: No, it's just it's impossible.
• 1:11:31
Speaker 3: But they're like, oh my god, eat so much broccoli
• 1:11:34
Speaker 3: and spinach and chicken every two hours in my training.
• 1:11:36
Speaker 3: I was like yeah, and then also stereod.
• 1:11:39
Speaker 2: Yes, you were shooting out crazy. Also, why does the
• 1:11:41
Speaker 2: chicken have to be unseasoned?
• 1:11:43
Speaker 3: Throw some salt and PEPPERI or those saracha or whatever.
• 1:11:46
Speaker 2: Calorie free like car free. You can have all sorts
• 1:11:50
  Speaker 2: of flavorful chicken.
• 1:11:51
Speaker 3: Even when they when they try to say, oh, I
• 1:11:53
Speaker 3: had to blend it up and drink it, I.
• 1:11:54
Speaker 2: Was like, no, you know you did took it.
• 1:11:56
Speaker 3: Put a needle in your ass, you fucking liar. God.
• 1:11:59
Speaker 3: I hate that's it is this.
• 1:12:00
Speaker 2: I mean, it's the same thing with ozempic, where it's
• 1:12:02
Speaker 2: like we all just know that this works, and like
• 1:12:05
Speaker 2: you're kind of creating a problem for normal people. When
• 1:12:07
Speaker 2: you're saying that you didn't cheat. Yeah, it's like just
• 1:12:11
Speaker 2: say I wanted this and I cheated.
• 1:12:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I like Russia so much. They cheat
• 1:12:15
Speaker 3: no matter what, Like yeah, liked sports like they will
• 1:12:18
Speaker 3: find a way to cheat no matter what because it's
• 1:12:20
Speaker 3: about winning. So it's like they're not playing by the
• 1:12:23
Speaker 3: same rules because they're like, don't you is this about winning? Great,
• 1:12:26
Speaker 3: so we're gonna win according to your rules, and it's
• 1:12:29
  Speaker 3: like it's so it's so cunty. I mean, they've got
• 1:12:32
Speaker 3: band from the Olympics, but like it was like, do
• 1:12:34
Speaker 3: you receive the documentary about the doping and no?
• 1:12:36
Speaker 2: And I wanted to.
• 1:12:37
Speaker 3: I've heard it because they they had like separate labs.
• 1:12:41
Speaker 3: I mean they really went the full like they really
• 1:12:45
Speaker 3: really really scammed the Olympics.
• 1:12:50
Speaker 2: The need and want to win a sport, love it
• 1:12:53
Speaker 2: good for glory, glory, and I should say that part
• 1:12:57
Speaker 2: is cheating. I feel like with oseempic, it's not so
• 1:12:59
Speaker 2: much cheating, it's just like this is a thing that
• 1:13:01
Speaker 2: you can do it.
• 1:13:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think honestly, this is not I don't think
• 1:13:05
Speaker 3: this would. I think athletes to be able to do
• 1:13:07
Speaker 3: whatever they want turn into monsters. It turn into absolute
• 1:13:10
Speaker 3: like hideous monsters to get there.
• 1:13:12
  Speaker 2: Interesting.
• 1:13:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, like do whatever it takes, like I mean, take
• 1:13:16
Speaker 3: all the steroids, like take every single drug, do whatever
• 1:13:18
Speaker 3: it takes to win, and then that'd be so interesting.
• 1:13:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, to see this absolute monster riding a bicycle, or like.
• 1:13:24
Speaker 3: This beast in the water with like there's grown fins
• 1:13:27
Speaker 3: or whatever it is, Like this letter.
• 1:13:29
  Speaker 2: Rimp, let's see things we haven't seen before. We've we've
• 1:13:31
Speaker 2: watched normal people win.
• 1:13:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no real level playing field. It's all political.
• 1:13:37
  Speaker 3: It's all people.
• 1:13:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, go for it. Become an absolute thing from another
• 1:13:42
Speaker 2: realm and win the goal. I'm behind you. Yeah, I
• 1:13:45
Speaker 2: love that shit. Well, is there anything left we need
• 1:13:48
Speaker 2: to say about tampons?
• 1:13:49
Speaker 3: Uh, I'm not really sure. I've never used by myself,
• 1:13:53
Speaker 3: but I know that many women in my life swear
• 1:13:56
  Speaker 3: by them.
• 1:13:56
Speaker 2: What an unbelievably practical it's It is the sort of
• 1:13:58
Speaker 2: thing where it's like two people who cannot speak to
• 1:14:01
Speaker 2: it that much, but it's such a practical thing that
• 1:14:04
Speaker 2: now it's just a great gift.
• 1:14:05
Speaker 3: Yes, something to have in the house. Yes, like band aids, Yes,
• 1:14:09
Speaker 3: band aids, Adville, Adville. I thank you. Also, I was
• 1:14:13
Speaker 3: going to bring something that was like quirky and weird,
• 1:14:15
  Speaker 3: but I was like, I don't want to bring a
• 1:14:17
Speaker 3: dagger so many of them. I didn't want to bring
• 1:14:19
Speaker 3: in the lizard because so bulky, and you would have
• 1:14:21
Speaker 3: broken the tail. And then I was like, would you want.
• 1:14:24
Speaker 2: That's an assumption that I would have broken the nose.
• 1:14:27
Speaker 2: It's very fragile and the very careful. And then the
• 1:14:31
Speaker 2: last thing was a candle snuffer, which I thought was like,
• 1:14:35
Speaker 2: too weird. And if you bring me a candle snuffer,
• 1:14:37
Speaker 2: you should bring me old fashioned pajamas and the hat.
• 1:14:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, totally, and a candle.
• 1:14:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, a candle lot for the whole scrooge. Look, but no,
• 1:14:46
Speaker 2: this can just go beneath the bathroom cabinet. And now
• 1:14:51
Speaker 2: of them to forty five. This could last me who
• 1:14:54
Speaker 2: knows a long time, a long time, or if I
• 1:14:56
Speaker 2: have tons of women that need them.
• 1:14:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, for the women to retreat your host, yes, next week?
• 1:15:00
  Speaker 2: Can well?
• 1:15:02
Speaker 3: Oh wait, I do have something to promote.
• 1:15:03
Speaker 2: Oh, but this is the exact time because we're about
• 1:15:08
Speaker 2: to play a game.
• 1:15:09
Speaker 3: Okay, let's do it.
• 1:15:09
Speaker 2: And I need a number between one and ten from you.
• 1:15:11
  Speaker 3: Seven.
• 1:15:12
Speaker 2: Okay, I have to do some light calculating to get
• 1:15:14
Speaker 2: our game pieces. So right now you have the mic,
• 1:15:16
Speaker 2: you can recommend, promote, do whatever you want.
• 1:15:18
Speaker 3: Right Okay, So I and meet a Trixy mattel in myself.
• 1:15:23
Speaker 3: We will be going on the road doing live podcasts,
• 1:15:26
Speaker 3: and you should come because some of the cities are
• 1:15:28
Speaker 3: not selling very well right now. And you can get
• 1:15:31
Speaker 3: the information to where those places are at Trixy and
• 1:15:34
Speaker 3: katchilive dot com. And then also be nice to each
• 1:15:39
Speaker 3: other and pick up your garbage, don't litter, give a hoot,
• 1:15:42
Speaker 3: and yeah, don't worry about drinking so much water.
• 1:15:48
Speaker 2: A bunch of dehydrated people keeping the streets clean. I
• 1:15:51
Speaker 2: feel like we kind of fell off with the litter message.
• 1:15:55
Speaker 3: I would honestly sometimes I feel that I would sooner
• 1:15:59
Speaker 3: forgive murder then throwing McDonald's back out the window onto
• 1:16:02
  Speaker 3: the street.
• 1:16:02
Speaker 2: Serious, what a wild thing for a human to do,
• 1:16:05
Speaker 2: to just be like not mine.
• 1:16:06
Speaker 3: You know, my friend who used to driving to school
• 1:16:08
Speaker 3: in high school did it all the time.
• 1:16:10
Speaker 2: That would just never even occur.
• 1:16:11
Speaker 3: The whole bag too, like if we got all like
• 1:16:13
Speaker 3: like you know, like true literary orders, like a bag
• 1:16:16
Speaker 3: like it's this much bigger than this just out the
• 1:16:19
Speaker 3: window onto the middle of the suburban street. I was like,
• 1:16:22
  Speaker 3: you're such a fucking asshole.
• 1:16:25
Speaker 2: But there was that through the I feel like the
• 1:16:27
Speaker 2: eighties and nineties there were such a strong like do
• 1:16:29
Speaker 2: not litter, don't be a litter bug. I think climate
• 1:16:31
Speaker 2: change kind of overtook that messaging, but we should still
• 1:16:35
Speaker 2: be telling people don't throw shit out your window. No.
• 1:16:37
Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm like, you know, recycled world, it all
• 1:16:40
Speaker 3: goes to trash island. It's it's like scam. But I mean,
• 1:16:43
Speaker 3: but don't. Yeah, like you have the choice to, Like,
• 1:16:46
Speaker 3: I mean, I will keep something in my car or
• 1:16:47
Speaker 3: like on my person, rather.
• 1:16:48
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna throw it on the No, I would
• 1:16:51
Speaker 2: feel guilty for weeks.
• 1:16:53
Speaker 3: Although you know what, the absolute hypocrisy of me is
• 1:16:56
Speaker 3: that sometimes I throw my cigarette butts on the ground.
• 1:16:59
Speaker 2: Okay, and that fun is weirdly accepted. I don't know
• 1:17:02
Speaker 2: why we've decided that.
• 1:17:03
Speaker 3: I don't know why we've also described decided that they're free.
• 1:17:07
Speaker 3: Like do you have a stigrette? It's like this a dollar,
• 1:17:11
Speaker 3: you know? Do you have a pizza? Pizza? Like we
• 1:17:14
Speaker 3: don't say that barters.
• 1:17:16
Speaker 2: Okay, Well, this is how we play the game. It's
• 1:17:19
Speaker 2: called we're playing Gift a Curse. And I should mention
• 1:17:22
Speaker 2: that we now this is a big announcement. We have
• 1:17:24
Speaker 2: a home version of Gifter a Curse. It's a card game.
• 1:17:28
Speaker 2: It is incredible. It's the same beautiful tension and excitement
• 1:17:33
Speaker 2: that you hear on this podcast. And now you can
• 1:17:36
Speaker 2: take it home and you can hurt feelings and you
• 1:17:38
Speaker 2: can cause family rifts. We're headed into the holidays and
• 1:17:42
Speaker 2: you can become kind of the person in control of
• 1:17:45
Speaker 2: the game. And everybody's going to be giving their opinions
• 1:17:47
Speaker 2: via card. It's delightful. You've got to go to exactly
• 1:17:51
Speaker 2: rightstore dot com uh to get it. That's where you
• 1:17:55
Speaker 2: get the merch. You know, the most beautiful sweatshirt I've
• 1:17:58
Speaker 2: ever seen. And now this card game that is it's
• 1:18:01
Speaker 2: going to ruin the holidays for everyone. And I can
• 1:18:05
Speaker 2: guarantee that you've got to get a copy today. Is
• 1:18:07
Speaker 2: there anything else I need to see? Say? No, there's
• 1:18:10
Speaker 2: You can also just google I said no Gifts Merch.
• 1:18:13
Speaker 2: If that's more your speed, do whatever you need to do.
• 1:18:17
Speaker 2: Here's how we play the game. I'm gonna name three
• 1:18:19
Speaker 2: things you're going to tell me if they are a
• 1:18:21
Speaker 2: gift or a curse and why, and then I'll tell
• 1:18:23
Speaker 2: you if you're right or wrong, because there are correct answers,
• 1:18:26
Speaker 2: and there's a strong chance you'll walk away a huge loser. Okay,
• 1:18:30
Speaker 2: you walked in a loser, You walk out a loser,
• 1:18:34
Speaker 2: born a loser. Okay. This first one is from a
• 1:18:37
Speaker 2: listener named Ann a gift or a curse being part
• 1:18:40
Speaker 2: of a family in which all of the members' names
• 1:18:43
Speaker 2: start with the same letter except for your name. And
• 1:18:46
Speaker 2: she gives an example Kim Kelby, Kinsley, Kiren, and Joel.
• 1:18:51
  Speaker 2: Oh those names.
• 1:18:51
  Speaker 3: That's crazy. That's a curse. That's a gift.
• 1:18:54
  Speaker 2: Oh that's a gift. Why?
• 1:18:56
Speaker 3: No, it's a curse. Why because what are the what
• 1:19:00
Speaker 3: are your parents proclaiming about you? Or what are they
• 1:19:02
Speaker 3: trying to curse you with or like annoint you with?
• 1:19:06
  Speaker 3: That's you know, I don't like that. I mean, I
• 1:19:08
Speaker 3: have a friend who comes from a Mormon family. I
• 1:19:10
Speaker 3: think eight siblings all.
• 1:19:11
Speaker 2: Come from a Mormon family named A And that's what
• 1:19:14
Speaker 2: I was gonna say. This is very Mormon, where Like
• 1:19:16
Speaker 2: I knew a lot of Mormon families growing.
• 1:19:17
Speaker 3: Up, j one with one outlier, though.
• 1:19:21
  Speaker 2: With no outliers.
• 1:19:22
Speaker 3: It was always like it's fucking crazy.
• 1:19:24
Speaker 2: There was like a ten family, ten sibling family, all j's.
• 1:19:28
Speaker 2: But you're saying, you're saying curse.
• 1:19:30
  Speaker 3: I'm I think it's a curse. I think it's a
• 1:19:32
Speaker 3: curse growing up, and then it would be a gift
• 1:19:33
Speaker 3: as in adulthood, Okay, it would transition, but curse overall. Yeah,
• 1:19:37
  Speaker 3: it's a it's a it's an insult. Honestly, I think
• 1:19:41
Speaker 3: it's like the scarlet letter in a way, you know.
• 1:19:43
Speaker 2: Caught you wrong. It's a gift. Why your mommy and
• 1:19:47
  Speaker 2: Daddy's angel.
• 1:19:48
Speaker 3: You're the special one, you know, like those other fucking ugly.
• 1:19:51
Speaker 2: These losers are dud give them a kay name or
• 1:19:55
  Speaker 2: let's try.
• 1:19:56
Speaker 3: We were hoping for a Brenda, but all we got
• 1:19:58
Speaker 3: were katies, you know, like.
• 1:20:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, and then you come along and suddenly you're
• 1:20:03
Speaker 2: the prince or princess and the rest of your life
• 1:20:05
  Speaker 2: is set. No.
• 1:20:06
Speaker 3: I really think it depends on what the what order
• 1:20:09
Speaker 3: it is you're born at.
• 1:20:10
Speaker 2: The spotlight is on that moment you're coming out of
• 1:20:13
Speaker 2: mommy and your brand, I mean it.
• 1:20:15
Speaker 3: Was, you know the course. The country. Thing I'm thinking
• 1:20:16
Speaker 3: about is Caitlin Kayln with a sea.
• 1:20:19
Speaker 2: Oh, with a sea. That's right, that's it was. That
• 1:20:22
Speaker 2: was a full statement, but with a parent naming. It's
• 1:20:27
  Speaker 2: I mean, it's another type of statement, and it's here's
• 1:20:29
Speaker 2: the star. Get rid of the rest of these kids,
• 1:20:30
Speaker 2: put them up for adoption and just keep this one.
• 1:20:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, but throw them out in the street, take them
• 1:20:35
  Speaker 3: to trash island.
• 1:20:37
Speaker 2: Okay, so zero out of zero so far. Number two.
• 1:20:43
Speaker 2: This is from someone named Stephen Giftter a curse saying
• 1:20:46
Speaker 2: bio break instead of bathroom break when taking a break
• 1:20:50
  Speaker 2: during a meeting.
• 1:20:52
Speaker 3: Bio is in biology biological No, no, no, because the
• 1:20:59
Speaker 3: first thing I thought it was like I have to
• 1:21:00
Speaker 3: leave the room to update my bio and that's not no. No,
• 1:21:06
Speaker 3: although way, I mean, obviously we've flopped on bathrooms in
• 1:21:09
Speaker 3: this society, Like there should be no journals, there should
• 1:21:12
Speaker 3: just be single stall. Yeah, windows in every completely all
• 1:21:16
Speaker 3: gender whatever. Yeah, I've never heard of that. That's the thing.
• 1:21:19
  Speaker 2: Bio break, bio break. It's a curse. You're right, it's
• 1:21:24
  Speaker 2: complete crazy.
• 1:21:25
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:21:26
Speaker 2: I mean, I people love the idea of somebody like
• 1:21:28
Speaker 2: stepping out to the bio.
• 1:21:29
Speaker 3: No, it would be like like Sue stepping out to
• 1:21:31
Speaker 3: do the activator, that's what it would be.
• 1:21:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, there's something about there's like a very like substance,
• 1:21:36
Speaker 2: like there's a wetness to it. That bathroom doesn't bring everyone.
• 1:21:40
Speaker 2: If you're saying I've got to take a bio break
• 1:21:42
Speaker 2: to the rest of your coworkers, you are a problem
• 1:21:45
  Speaker 2: at the office.
• 1:21:46
Speaker 3: Yes you are. You are not getting invited to drinks afterwork,
• 1:21:49
Speaker 3: it's for sure bio break.
• 1:21:51
  Speaker 2: If that's a new trend among office workers. I don't
• 1:21:53
Speaker 2: know what to say to anybody. What's the what's the
• 1:21:56
Speaker 2: logic behind that? Or just say I have to leave
• 1:21:59
  Speaker 2: the room.
• 1:21:59
Speaker 3: What about ryo break?
• 1:22:01
Speaker 2: I have to go freeze yourself seconds? Okay? Well, okay,
• 1:22:07
Speaker 2: so you've gotten one right so far, very okay. And finally,
• 1:22:12
Speaker 2: this is a we don't know who this came from,
• 1:22:14
Speaker 2: so rest in peace, gift to a curse. When your
• 1:22:18
Speaker 2: dog hates one of your friends but loves everyone else,
• 1:22:21
Speaker 2: this is kind of thematically tied to the first and weirdly.
• 1:22:23
  Speaker 3: That's you know, I don't know because I I I'm
• 1:22:29
Speaker 3: gonna get I'm not I'm gonna get a lot of
• 1:22:31
Speaker 3: hate for this, But I don't hate animals. Of course,
• 1:22:35
  Speaker 3: but I don't love them.
• 1:22:36
Speaker 2: No animal has love from you.
• 1:22:39
Speaker 3: Uh no, no, no. I mean like I could say, oh
• 1:22:41
Speaker 3: my god, that dog is so cute, or that cat
• 1:22:42
Speaker 3: is really interesting, or that owl is so wonderful, but like,
• 1:22:48
Speaker 3: I don't have pets. I'm never gonna have pets.
• 1:22:50
Speaker 2: They're not for you.
• 1:22:51
Speaker 3: No, they're not for me. And so like other people's pets,
• 1:22:55
Speaker 3: it's like other people's children. I don't want to touch them.
• 1:22:59
  Speaker 3: I don't want to talk to them. I don't want
• 1:23:01
Speaker 3: them to touch me or talk to me. That's how
• 1:23:05
Speaker 3: I feel about that. So I don't I forget what the.
• 1:23:07
Speaker 2: Question when your dog hates one of your to be me,
• 1:23:11
Speaker 2: that's gonna be me. I felt like it was.
• 1:23:13
Speaker 3: And also like I've been I've been at many times
• 1:23:16
Speaker 3: in the situation of go to this person's house for
• 1:23:18
Speaker 3: the first time and they forget to mention, Oh, by
• 1:23:20
Speaker 3: the way, I have six Rottweilers that will that will
• 1:23:23
Speaker 3: charge you as the doorbell rings, Like you need to
• 1:23:26
Speaker 3: like tell me that, because that is fucking scary. Like
• 1:23:30
  Speaker 3: pit bulls, I feel like, don't worry, they're friendly. They're
• 1:23:33
Speaker 3: scratching my eyes out and jumping all over me.
• 1:23:36
Speaker 2: Like people as a dog lover, I.
• 1:23:38
Speaker 3: Hate dogs, but you know what I mean, I think
• 1:23:40
  Speaker 3: some people.
• 1:23:40
Speaker 2: Are very cavalier about how their dogs behave. It's like
• 1:23:43
Speaker 2: you have got to be very conscious of that. Not
• 1:23:46
Speaker 2: everyone is comfortable with animals.
• 1:23:47
Speaker 3: And also they bark loudly sometimes all night. Like I
• 1:23:52
Speaker 3: was at this house where like two enormous fucking dogs,
• 1:23:55
Speaker 3: uncontrollable mm hmm, super aggressive, very physical, and then they
• 1:24:00
Speaker 3: wouldn't shut the fuck up. I was like, you know this,
• 1:24:04
Speaker 3: this is a bad hosting trait. It's like you're not
• 1:24:06
Speaker 3: good at that anyways.
• 1:24:08
Speaker 2: So you're saying, curse, it's a gift, or it could.
• 1:24:11
Speaker 3: Be like it's a it's a gift to sess out evil.
• 1:24:15
Speaker 2: Well, this is what I'm this is why it's a gift.
• 1:24:17
Speaker 2: You're you're not getting the point too late? You I mean,
• 1:24:21
Speaker 2: did not not saved by.
• 1:24:22
Speaker 3: The bell it to identify you?
• 1:24:24
Speaker 2: Yeah? What the dog knows something. They know something about
• 1:24:27
Speaker 2: this person, whether they're possessed, whether they will betray you.
• 1:24:32
  Speaker 2: I believe it.
• 1:24:33
Speaker 3: They can smell the future betrayal. They can smell the
• 1:24:35
Speaker 3: breast pump, they can smell and they can hear the
• 1:24:38
Speaker 3: wind chime. They can hear the wind chime, ohring house
• 1:24:42
  Speaker 3: for you.
• 1:24:44
Speaker 2: Dogs have the spirit of Julianne Moore. Yes, and they
• 1:24:47
Speaker 2: know a bad egg when they see it. And when
• 1:24:50
Speaker 2: one dog is barking or harassing just one friend, it's
• 1:24:53
Speaker 2: because that person's bad news.
• 1:24:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, bad news. They're trying to steal your baby, fuck
• 1:24:58
Speaker 3: your husband, and kill your best friend.
• 1:24:59
Speaker 2: It's time to hire a private investigator and have them
• 1:25:03
Speaker 2: track this person. We got one out of three, so.
• 1:25:06
Speaker 3: That's basically totally great.
• 1:25:08
Speaker 2: That's one hundred percent as far as I know.
• 1:25:11
Speaker 3: Wait, did you take the SATs?
• 1:25:12
Speaker 2: I took the acts.
• 1:25:14
Speaker 3: Oh what did you get?
• 1:25:16
  Speaker 2: I got a twenty nine.
• 1:25:19
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you're smart, you're smarty.
• 1:25:21
Speaker 2: No, I feel like smart as thirty or above.
• 1:25:23
Speaker 3: Oh I thought it went up to thirty, only.
• 1:25:24
Speaker 2: It goes up to I think thirty four.
• 1:25:26
Speaker 3: Oh god, you're a dumb ass.
• 1:25:27
Speaker 2: That's a complete dumb That's amazing, right, No, it's not good.
• 1:25:30
Speaker 2: I think it's like, oh, well he can read and
• 1:25:33
Speaker 2: is okay okay, But I mean I guess if you
• 1:25:35
Speaker 2: got a four that would also be a problem. So
• 1:25:38
Speaker 2: I guess twenty nine is twenty five points more than
• 1:25:40
Speaker 2: four five. So I'm demonstrating my math skills. You took
• 1:25:43
Speaker 2: the SAT Yeah, and what did you get?
• 1:25:45
Speaker 3: I will not tell you lie. Yeah, I mean I
• 1:25:49
Speaker 3: have friends who've got sixteen hundred's Is that top? That's perfect?
• 1:25:53
Speaker 2: Okay, incredible? Yeah, but where are they now? Four hours?
• 1:25:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not on this podcast, certainly not in Holly
• 1:26:00
Speaker 3: would They're taking bio breaks at their shitty office jobs.
• 1:26:05
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 1:26:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's firce though.
• 1:26:10
Speaker 2: I mean I feel like standardized tessing we're kind of
• 1:26:13
Speaker 2: finding out is not good, right, yeah, I mean not.
• 1:26:15
Speaker 3: An indicator of like potential success or whatever. It's even.
• 1:26:18
Speaker 3: But did you take AP courses?
• 1:26:20
Speaker 2: I did take AP courses Political science, history, English? I
• 1:26:28
Speaker 2: think those probably those? What are the other ones are?
• 1:26:31
  Speaker 3: I mean there's biology, there's I think I took. I
• 1:26:34
Speaker 3: think it's really tough.
• 1:26:37
Speaker 2: I can handle biology. Chemistry and physics are hard for me.
• 1:26:41
Speaker 3: I never took chemistry physics. What did you get on
• 1:26:42
  Speaker 3: this test?
• 1:26:44
Speaker 2: I think all of those I barely got like threes,
• 1:26:47
Speaker 2: you know, which is like a barely passing right except
• 1:26:49
Speaker 2: on English and decent in English. Five I think is
• 1:26:53
  Speaker 2: not a five. I've probably got a four. Yeah, there's
• 1:26:56
Speaker 2: no perfection in my life not.
• 1:26:59
  Speaker 3: Hard to believe.
• 1:27:00
Speaker 2: Did you take AP force I took.
• 1:27:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, I took AP French Language and AP French literature.
• 1:27:04
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's really classy.
• 1:27:06
Speaker 3: Oh it was extremely classy when I was because I
• 1:27:09
Speaker 3: skipped I skipped a grade, so I was the only
• 1:27:11
Speaker 3: one in French literature. Told myself, you know, I got
• 1:27:15
Speaker 3: a find on that. I like peaked in high school
• 1:27:18
  Speaker 3: with languages anyways.
• 1:27:19
Speaker 2: And then ran right into a brick wall with the SAT.
• 1:27:21
Speaker 3: Oh like middle of the pack, just like like horribly average,
• 1:27:27
Speaker 3: embarrassingly like like just just below average to feel like
• 1:27:31
  Speaker 3: like shit, you.
• 1:27:31
Speaker 2: Know, yeah, that's how I feel with the twenty nine
• 1:27:33
Speaker 2: on the act. I'm just like, well, oh, it's exhausting.
• 1:27:38
Speaker 2: I woke up at the time of the beginning of
• 1:27:39
Speaker 2: the test. I remember it was started at eight am,
• 1:27:42
Speaker 2: and I woke if what was happening? My parents are
• 1:27:44
Speaker 2: decent parents. Why were they not put They should have been.
• 1:27:47
Speaker 3: Putting the pressure they like, they didn't let you take
• 1:27:50
Speaker 3: the p SAT or is there like a.
• 1:27:52
Speaker 2: Pro there probably is. I felt kind of free Rome.
• 1:27:55
Speaker 2: As far as education goes well.
• 1:27:57
Speaker 3: Very quickly. I had trouble in high schoo well, for
• 1:28:00
Speaker 3: when I was a sophomore, I was like a moody kid,
• 1:28:02
Speaker 3: and I so I'd looked at other places, alternative schools
• 1:28:05
Speaker 3: to go to. When I did a visiting week at
• 1:28:06
Speaker 3: this place called Sudbury Valley, which is no longer accredited,
• 1:28:09
Speaker 3: but at the time it had a smoking room. Oh
• 1:28:12
Speaker 3: and for the whole week I smoked cigarettes indoors at
• 1:28:14
Speaker 3: this high school that had no actual courses, but teachers
• 1:28:19
Speaker 3: on campus who were available for instruction if you sought
• 1:28:22
Speaker 3: them out. Why is that crazy?
• 1:28:24
Speaker 2: Did you ever ask a teacher for a cigarette?
• 1:28:26
Speaker 3: No? No, I brought my own and literally just walked
• 1:28:29
Speaker 3: around smoked a pack of cigarettes a day at sixteen.
• 1:28:32
Speaker 3: I'm that fucking crazy. This was in nineteen ninety eight.
• 1:28:35
Speaker 2: That's like letting the Muppet babies smoke.
• 1:28:37
Speaker 3: It's like it's like swinging dancing on the airplane.
• 1:28:42
  Speaker 2: Have don draper.
• 1:28:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, but they lost their accreditation obviously. Yeah.
• 1:28:46
Speaker 2: Anyways, Okay, well it's time to answer a listener question.
• 1:28:50
Speaker 2: This is called I said no emails. People write into
• 1:28:52
Speaker 2: I said no gifts at gmail dot com begging for help.
• 1:28:55
Speaker 2: Will you help me answer a question?
• 1:28:56
  Speaker 3: Absolutely?
• 1:28:57
  Speaker 1: I will.
• 1:28:57
Speaker 2: Okay, let's see here, I have it. Oh my god,
• 1:29:01
Speaker 2: you have an anisot of water. Okay, this says dear
• 1:29:04
Speaker 2: Bridger on alease and disrespectful guests, I have failed miserably.
• 1:29:09
Speaker 2: I'll be the judge of that. Last year, two long
• 1:29:11
Speaker 2: distance friends got married to each other. In the chaos
• 1:29:15
Speaker 2: of packing and preparing for the eight hour drive to
• 1:29:17
Speaker 2: their hometown, I forgot their card. The card was to
• 1:29:21
Speaker 2: be the vessel for a monetary gift. I did not
• 1:29:23
Speaker 2: have time to get another card before the wedding, and
• 1:29:26
Speaker 2: with all the festivities in traveling home the next day,
• 1:29:28
Speaker 2: I forgot to go on their online registry and get
• 1:29:30
Speaker 2: a gift from there. My memory continued to fail me.
• 1:29:33
Speaker 2: As it is now a year later, as we are
• 1:29:35
Speaker 2: approaching their one year anniversary, and I never got them
• 1:29:38
Speaker 2: a gift. Neither friend has mentioned anything about not receiving
• 1:29:42
Speaker 2: a gift from me, but my own personal guilt is
• 1:29:44
Speaker 2: getting to me. Should I send the card and gifts
• 1:29:46
Speaker 2: now or is it too late? Well, sending a gift
• 1:29:49
Speaker 2: now reveal my true failings as a friend. Our one
• 1:29:52
Speaker 2: year anniversary gifts from a friend's a thing? What should
• 1:29:55
Speaker 2: I do? Thank you for your help? And that's oh.
• 1:29:57
Speaker 2: They didn't even leave their name sincerely a bad and
• 1:29:59
Speaker 2: forgetful friend. They're very you.
• 1:30:01
Speaker 3: Go bad and forgetful friend? Is they're real? That's that's yes,
• 1:30:05
  Speaker 3: you're a bad friend. You're a bad friend.
• 1:30:07
Speaker 2: Do you know what I think they are? I think
• 1:30:09
  Speaker 2: they are.
• 1:30:10
Speaker 3: They're literally just saying I forgot these people are not
• 1:30:12
Speaker 3: important enough for me to prioritize this very simple activity
• 1:30:16
Speaker 3: multiple could have done in under ten minutes, even from
• 1:30:19
Speaker 3: the car. You just go on the computer and type
• 1:30:21
Speaker 3: a little bit, and then you.
• 1:30:22
Speaker 2: Have how are you not remembering it? You're at the wedding,
• 1:30:24
Speaker 2: You're leaving the web.
• 1:30:26
Speaker 3: Like there is time to stop. You don't have to
• 1:30:27
Speaker 3: be punctual for the wedding. You stop at the CVS
• 1:30:29
Speaker 3: to get a fucking card.
• 1:30:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, no one's thinking about card. No peo will appreciate
• 1:30:34
  Speaker 2: a bad card.
• 1:30:34
Speaker 3: Absolutely, you get you get ironic car, you get like
• 1:30:37
Speaker 3: a happy birthday grandfather card, and you just move right.
• 1:30:40
Speaker 3: And also, but if they have turned over a new
• 1:30:43
Speaker 3: leaf and they've suddenly like decided to shed their asshliness,
• 1:30:47
Speaker 3: then yeah, just get them something. Absolutely, it's ever too
• 1:30:49
Speaker 3: late or too weird or too you know.
