del portale. Siamo con il direttore Massimo Lualdi
• 1:24
che introduce l 'argomento odierno. Di cosa parliamo
• 1:27
oggi? Di musica e di You Are So Vain, di Carly
• 1:30
Simon in particolare. Initially the melody was
• 1:56
written by Carly Simon for a song that was entitled
• 2:00
Bless You Ben. It was 1971. See the total. Next,
• 2:31
the same Simon thought of changing the words
• 2:33
Bless you Ben, you came in where nobody else
• 2:36
left off with You are so vain, you probably think
• 2:39
this song is about you. That is, if you are so
• 2:42
vain, you probably think this song is about you,
• 2:46
indisputably thinking of a man with whom he had
• 2:49
a relationship. How does it work? Well, you asked
• 3:01
what I did yesterday. For example, I have lots
• 3:06
of papers always, you know, I'll never get through
• 3:09
them all. Do you take yourself off and you're
• 3:39
alone or you prefer to have some chaos around
• 3:42
you? We'll say I have a notebook. As I did in
• 3:47
the case in 1973 or 72 maybe, I had a notebook
• 3:53
with just one thing at the very end of the notebook,
• 3:56
and I don't know why it went at the end, but
• 3:57
it said, you're so vain, you probably think this
• 4:00
song is about you. happened to have a paradoxical
• 4:14
trait because I was born very shy and I was born
• 4:18
without the desire to be in front. of anybody
• 4:21
or to show off and that was underlined by my
• 4:25
father's lack of interest in me. According to
• 4:27
producer Richard Perry, the song would have been
• 4:30
dedicated to various men, but in particular to
• 4:33
Warren Beatty. So in school I tried so hard to
• 4:37
be popular and I had a terrible stammer and so
• 4:39
I finally asked my mother what can I do to make
• 4:41
people love me. The original title of the song,
• 4:44
at the time of the recording of the demo, was
• 4:46
Ballad for a Bane Man, then changed to You Are
• 4:49
So Bane. dalle parole del ritornello. Grazie
