- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm landing from the plot and new We've got
- 0:02Speaker 1: a tour coming up next year. I believe it's in
- 0:04Speaker 1: January next year, and yeah, playing some pretty cool, big venues.
- 0:08Speaker 1: It should be fun.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Fantastic landing Nation, join us today.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Pray absolutely no problem.
- 0:15Speaker 2: As you say.
- 0:16Speaker 4: The plot in you return to Australia in January twenty
- 0:19Speaker 4: twenty six for a run of shows starting January the
- 0:21Speaker 4: twenty first in Freemantle, then you move through Adelaide, Chelsea Heights,
- 0:25Speaker 4: Melbourne and Sydney and finishing Brisbane on Teddy in January.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Like normally this stage I'd be asking bands if start
- 0:31Speaker 4: packed and ready to go, but I guess in guessing
- 0:33Speaker 4: you probably wouldn't be.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Nope, no, not yet, just just mentally packing up for it.
- 0:39Speaker 4: You know, Gods, I must have a pretty busy schedule mate,
- 0:44Speaker 4: if you han't to have to announce shows that.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Far in advance.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah, are Honestly, we're pretty booked into twenty twenty six
- 0:52Speaker 1: at this point, which is honestly kind of nice because usually,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I mean, in the past years we've kind of just
- 0:58Speaker 1: like found out about tours like a couple months beforehand,
- 1:01Speaker 1: so it's kind of nice to know your exact schedule
- 1:04Speaker 1: for like almost two years in advance, you can kind
- 1:07Speaker 1: of like plan your actual life around that.
- 1:09Speaker 3: So I definitely prefer it that way for sure.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Your last headline too here in twenty twenty three was
- 1:18Speaker 4: completely sorted out, right, It's got to be a love
- 1:20Speaker 4: for you guys over yet.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly, I think it's I think it's collectively all
- 1:26Speaker 1: of our favorite market to play.
- 1:28Speaker 3: It's even from back when we were like way.
- 1:30Speaker 1: A way smaller, coming over it was always just kind
- 1:33Speaker 1: of like an amazing experience.
- 1:35Speaker 3: People seem to like really appreciate heavy music in a
- 1:37Speaker 3: different way over there, So yeah, it's always a privilege,
- 1:40Speaker 3: always an absolute blast coming over there. So we're very excited.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Nice and as you say, you're out in your last
- 1:47Speaker 4: in twenty twenty three, So what's changed with the band?
- 1:50Speaker 2: You know, those a couple of years since you hear last.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Oh Man so much?
- 1:54Speaker 1: I feel like, I mean, the EPs that we put
- 1:57Speaker 1: out have seen to you know, really transcend and really
- 2:01Speaker 1: connect with a lot of people, which is cool. So
- 2:03Speaker 1: it'll be fun to come over there and play a
- 2:05Speaker 1: lot a lot more new stuff. But yeah, in that time,
- 2:08Speaker 1: you know, I feel like we've just we've toured so much,
- 2:11Speaker 1: and we've we've gone to so many new places too,
- 2:14Speaker 1: Like we did Japan for the first time, we did
- 2:17Speaker 1: South America for the first time.
- 2:19Speaker 3: So yeah, it's.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Really just cool seeing how things are translating kind of
- 2:24Speaker 1: all over the world. You know, that's a pretty unique
- 2:26Speaker 1: and bizarre.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Thing to experience. So yeah, we're just really grateful.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Let's talk me here, Bright.
- 2:33Speaker 4: What one media outlet praise the shows is the best
- 2:36Speaker 4: metal course show of the year, and that was a
- 2:38Speaker 4: pretty common conception by a lot of people raved about
- 2:40Speaker 4: your show. So what is it about that makes the
- 2:42Speaker 4: pot in you life so special?
- 2:45Speaker 1: I don't know, that's a good question. We've we've honestly,
- 2:48Speaker 1: we've just been a band for so long and we've
- 2:50Speaker 1: like grown to like grown to know how to play
- 2:54Speaker 1: off of each other well, I think, and we put
- 2:57Speaker 1: a lot of we put a lot of work into
- 2:59Speaker 1: making sure or like our lights and the actual you know,
- 3:02Speaker 1: like production and everything is something that reflects with what
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're doing musically.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And yeah, I feel like we've just we've been doing
- 3:11Speaker 3: it so.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Long that it's kind of become just like second nature,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like We're on tour almost
- 3:16Speaker 1: half the year, so we have a lot of time
- 3:18Speaker 1: to just kind of practice and get tighter.
- 3:20Speaker 3: So yeah, we're learn to work together.
- 3:22Speaker 4: So yeah, it all well to hate in different countries.
- 3:28Speaker 4: So do you chile Us set lists to certain countries,
- 3:31Speaker 4: like research what songs are more popular there and salo
- 3:34Speaker 4: to that, or do you have a sort of more
- 3:36Speaker 4: generic one that guys around.
- 3:39Speaker 1: We we've kind of, Yeah, for a couple of different
- 3:41Speaker 1: places that we've played, we've been like, Okay, it seems
- 3:44Speaker 1: like this country really appreciates the song, so we'll try
- 3:47Speaker 1: to be a little bit mindful of that. But for
- 3:50Speaker 1: the most part, we're trying to for the most part,
- 3:52Speaker 1: play most of the new songs because they're new and
- 3:55Speaker 1: we want to, you know, be able to showcase those.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But yeah, we try to sprinkle some stuff in from
- 3:59Speaker 1: every era of the band to make sure it's like
- 4:02Speaker 1: a collective showcase of everything that we've done and you know,
- 4:06Speaker 1: the band that we've been for seventeen years or sixteen
- 4:09Speaker 1: seventeen years, you know. So yeah, just trying to make
- 4:11Speaker 1: it a fun experience for everybody.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Bringing it out fit for a King and boundaries with.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You Mike so watch your Host Bands is touring Pondens.
- 4:23Speaker 1: We've toured with those bands. Fit for a King, We've
- 4:26Speaker 1: been touring with for like twelve thirteen years on and off,
- 4:29Speaker 1: so we've we've just been really close with them for
- 4:31Speaker 1: a really long time. And Boundaries as a band, we
- 4:35Speaker 1: just toured with for the first time just a couple
- 4:37Speaker 1: of just a month ago, and we just clicked with
- 4:40Speaker 1: them really fast, and they're just such a fun, cool
- 4:43Speaker 1: band to be around, and honestly, their music is just
- 4:45Speaker 1: so fresh and like innovative. We wanted to bring them
- 4:48Speaker 1: out because we just we know we're going to have
- 4:50Speaker 1: a good time with them. It's more than anything, it's
- 4:53Speaker 1: we just want to hang out with our friends.
- 4:54Speaker 3: You know, if you go.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Like Bankstock, how are you joining the tool watching Gidios.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Credit to you guys for giving an ALTI bandaged chance
- 5:03Speaker 4: as well?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Is good to say.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Absolutely, Yeah, I love Bank's Arcade. They're so cool. We
- 5:08Speaker 1: got to bring them out on a US tour like
- 5:11Speaker 1: two or three years ago and they just, honestly, they
- 5:14Speaker 1: blew me away. I thought that their music was just
- 5:16Speaker 1: so powerful and unique. Yeah, so I've been a fan
- 5:20Speaker 1: ever since. I want to bring them on every tour
- 5:23Speaker 1: I possibly can.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they're so sick.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll let us say that.
- 5:30Speaker 4: In Brisbane shows are all ages made like there's not
- 5:33Speaker 4: enough of them in the modern age.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I used to be quite a few of them, but
- 5:35Speaker 2: these days are getting less than life. Good on you.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't even know that was a thing. That's
- 5:40Speaker 1: that's really interesting. Yeah, that's cool.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I definitely I prefer all ages.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I want everyone of any age to be able to
- 5:46Speaker 1: come and have a good time, you know, So anytime
- 5:49Speaker 1: we're able to do that, I feel like it's a
- 5:51Speaker 1: cool opportunity.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Because I remember I was you know, I remember.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Being a teenager and wanting to go to shows. I'd
- 5:56Speaker 1: be so bummed if i couldn't go to a show
- 5:58Speaker 1: just because I'm not old enough.
- 6:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:03Speaker 4: It's a good thing now about with you with your
- 6:06Speaker 4: set list in your stage, So like, when you know
- 6:08Speaker 4: that there's going to be kids in the crowd, do
- 6:10Speaker 4: you tone it down at all? Are you conscious of
- 6:12Speaker 4: that or is it just sort of still just get
- 6:14Speaker 4: out there and.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Do what you do?
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah, not at all.
- 6:17Speaker 1: We don't tone anything down for anybody. If they're there,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm assuming they've probably already already heard our.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Music and they know what they're getting into.
- 6:26Speaker 1: The same for their parents too, If their parents are
- 6:29Speaker 1: going to let them come, that's on them.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Good answer.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Musically that the plot of you incorporates elements of a
- 6:40Speaker 4: wide variety of genres charity, have you got electronica in there?
- 6:43Speaker 4: There's pop, R and B metotal, There's there's so much
- 6:46Speaker 4: in there made it obviously works.
- 6:47Speaker 2: For you in the studio, but how to translate live?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Like is it difficult to get the fla ride in
- 6:53Speaker 4: a live setting with so many different genres?
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's just it's a lot of trial
- 6:57Speaker 3: and error.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Again, we've been doing this such.
- 7:01Speaker 1: A long time though that like we we figured out
- 7:04Speaker 1: how to do everything that we do in a way
- 7:06Speaker 1: that like makes sense live, you know. As far as
- 7:10Speaker 1: like especially vocally, you know, I've had to just touring
- 7:14Speaker 1: so long and like learning how my voice works and
- 7:17Speaker 1: how to like how to breathe correctly to like get
- 7:20Speaker 1: certain things out, and how to I don't know how
- 7:22Speaker 1: to prepare my my voice for like if I'm doing
- 7:25Speaker 1: a bunch of screams and then I got to go
- 7:27Speaker 1: into it like soft singing part, Like it just takes.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It just takes a lot of effort to practice that
- 7:33Speaker 1: and like get it down to where it's like effortless.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But it always takes time. Learning a new song every
- 7:39Speaker 1: time is like a new experience. But yeah, I like
- 7:42Speaker 1: to think we've been doing it long enough to where
- 7:44Speaker 1: we figured it out. I think, at least to a
- 7:47Speaker 1: certain degree, you know.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty twenty four was pretty busy for you guys.
- 7:53Speaker 2: As you said before, you releases three EPs of Volume
- 7:56Speaker 2: one two. So what is twenty twenty five hard to music?
- 7:59Speaker 1: You got some more stuff coming, Yeah, we got one
- 8:02Speaker 1: more EP coming and then, uh, we'll see what happens
- 8:05Speaker 1: for the rest of the year. I kind of I
- 8:06Speaker 1: probably need a break after that, but maybe maybe if
- 8:10Speaker 1: I sometime mid twenty twenty six, maybe we'll have something
- 8:13Speaker 1: out again. But it's been awesome just doing the EPs,
- 8:16Speaker 1: because it's honestly allowed us to just consistently release music
- 8:20Speaker 1: for a really long period of time, which kind of
- 8:23Speaker 1: just keeps hype, you know, and it keeps people engaged,
- 8:27Speaker 1: like they know that they have something to look forward
- 8:29Speaker 1: to every like few months rather than a couple of
- 8:32Speaker 1: years apart, you know.
- 8:34Speaker 3: So yeah, it's been great.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you actually raise a good way there, bright and
- 8:38Speaker 4: I like in the in the modern mind, like people
- 8:41Speaker 4: want music all the time and they want content all
- 8:43Speaker 4: the time because their attention to spands this, but the
- 8:48Speaker 4: right too, you know, they people expect so much from
- 8:50Speaker 4: that to be sure, and you've got to be releasing
- 8:52Speaker 4: to me, you get a break.
- 8:54Speaker 3: You need it exactly.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's definitely a hard thing, which
- 9:02Speaker 1: I've been advocating for doing EPs, like for many years
- 9:07Speaker 1: before we the label finally let me do it. I
- 9:09Speaker 1: was just like, trust me, I'll take whenever I get
- 9:13Speaker 1: breaks off tour.
- 9:14Speaker 3: I'm going to focus on a small body.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Of work rather than trying to culminate like a big
- 9:18Speaker 1: long record. You know. Over the course of just a
- 9:21Speaker 1: couple months, I was like, if you let me space
- 9:22Speaker 1: it out, I promise I can deliver a better product.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And they finally trusted me and let me do it.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So now we're kind of reaping the benefits of that.
- 9:32Speaker 1: But because you know what you're doing, Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I feel like, Yeah, for me personally, I'm the main
- 9:40Speaker 1: writer of the band, and so that's kind of a
- 9:42Speaker 1: lot of weight on me sometimes, So them allowing me
- 9:45Speaker 1: to do things like this is just it's made the
- 9:48Speaker 1: process a lot more enjoyable, you know.
- 9:50Speaker 3: So yeah, very grateful to them for that.
- 9:54Speaker 2: All Right, before I let you go, we've start a
- 9:56Speaker 2: new submit fio bomb.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So basically, before I speak to you, watrol for your
- 10:00Speaker 4: social media and I'll find if you fight a little
- 10:03Speaker 4: bit more about So I've dug up this. I like you,
- 10:08Speaker 4: like you rocked the shit out of this mite.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But it doesn't really look cold enough to be wearing it.
- 10:14Speaker 1: No, it was an insanely hot show. Actually it was
- 10:19Speaker 1: in the middle of winter, but there was like absolutely
- 10:22Speaker 1: no air control in the venue and it was sold out,
- 10:25Speaker 1: so it was unbearably hot.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Like the whole floor of.
- 10:29Speaker 1: That show was just drenched in sweat by the end
- 10:32Speaker 1: of the show. It was a very stupid costume idea.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I think I woren't for three songs and then I
- 10:41Speaker 1: was like, I can't, I'm gonna die.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it was fun throw out the crowd.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Did you throw it out the craft for somebody cable?
- 10:50Speaker 1: No, with my friend's girlfriends, so I sadly had to
- 10:53Speaker 1: give it back to her. But yeah, she was gracious
- 10:56Speaker 1: enough to let me borrow.
- 10:56Speaker 5: It, like I'm it's just a beautiful moment now, and
- 11:06Speaker 5: but from stage, man, does it break your heart sometimes
- 11:09Speaker 5: watching people try so hard to get so close to
- 11:12Speaker 5: it and then security just grabs them and bang to
- 11:15Speaker 5: the side.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I think what's even more of a bummer. Sometimes
- 11:20Speaker 1: security doesn't make any effort to grab them at all
- 11:22Speaker 1: and they just fall flat on the ground.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I think that bunds me out more than anything.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's happened quite a few times. But I do
- 11:30Speaker 1: feel like they've since there's been some lawsuits, they've been
- 11:33Speaker 1: a little bit better about catching people, so it's been
- 11:36Speaker 1: at least a little bit less of an issue.
- 11:37Speaker 4: So you'd see all their faces and you see these
- 11:45Speaker 4: people coming open swarms, Like, is it the same people
- 11:48Speaker 4: go out and they line up and they push their
- 11:49Speaker 4: way back to the front and come up again, or
- 11:51Speaker 4: is it a completely different way for people coming are.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I don't honestly don't know.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm like, whenever I'm performing, I have my eyes shut
- 11:59Speaker 1: probably like sixty to seventy percent of the time, and
- 12:02Speaker 1: I've got like blinding lights that coming in my face also,
- 12:06Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't really I don't get.
- 12:08Speaker 3: To observe as much as i'd like to.
- 12:10Speaker 5: So, so next time you got to fist pump someone
- 12:13Speaker 5: you get their fist on their face.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Then yeah, exactly, that's that's bound to happen at some
- 12:18Speaker 1: point for sure.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Hopefully not.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Landed well, thanks very much for your time.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Writes the plot and you are in astray it from
- 12:26Speaker 4: next tenure with fifteen boundaries and bench don know to
- 12:30Speaker 4: my offs, I has to sell it out every show since
- 12:33Speaker 4: he lost, and it'll probably have the end so they
- 12:35Speaker 4: got your tickets early.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yep, it should be a good time. Definitely come out.
