- 1:25Speaker 1: I am Chad Mellman, Chief Content Officer of the Action Network.
- 1:29Speaker 1: If you hear any background noise, if you hear some excitement,
- 1:32Speaker 1: if you hear screaming, it's because me and my co host,
- 1:36Speaker 1: my bff, my companion, my compadre, Simon Hunter, are live
- 1:41Speaker 1: from Keenland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. This is the
- 1:47Speaker 1: horse capital of the world. We have a bonus episode.
- 1:50Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about breeders. We have a very special guest,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Scott Hazelton, do It All analyst, host, reporter for fan
- 1:58Speaker 1: Duel TV, is on site with us. We're gonna talk
- 2:01Speaker 1: a little bit more NFL. We're gonna talk about our
- 2:04Speaker 1: night last night out in the wilds of Lexington, bar hopping,
- 2:09Speaker 1: seeing fans, watching the Phillies, watching the Eagles, sweating some
- 2:14Speaker 1: bets with Matt Mitchell. Simon's great to be here, Chad,
- 2:19Speaker 1: get thousands of fans here all behind us. That's what
- 2:22Speaker 1: you're here. It's not the background noise to all our fans, real,
- 2:25Speaker 1: real fans that are hanging out at Keenland to watch
- 2:29Speaker 1: the races. I've already made three bets. I'm excited. I've
- 2:33Speaker 1: watched two races. I want to get to everything that
- 2:36Speaker 1: we did this week. But the main event is bringing
- 2:40Speaker 1: in Scott Hazelton. Uh, who's gonna tell us everything we
- 2:44Speaker 1: need to know to get ready for breeders, because we
- 2:46Speaker 1: will admit we bet on a lot of things, but
- 2:49Speaker 1: we don't bet a lot of horses. So Scott is
- 2:52Speaker 1: going to take us through it. And the first thing
- 2:54Speaker 1: I want to talk about is flight Line, because this
- 2:58Speaker 1: is a horse that people are already comparing. A Secretariat
- 3:03Speaker 1: has won its races by a combined sixty two lengths,
- 3:08Speaker 1: so give us the rundown in flight Line right now.
- 3:12Speaker 1: He's a generational type horse, and I mean that's the
- 3:15Speaker 1: fact that we have to reach that far back to
- 3:18Speaker 1: find a comparison. The Secretarya just goes to show you
- 3:20Speaker 1: how rare these kind of athletes in this game are.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I mean they obviously the way that modern day racing is,
- 3:27Speaker 1: it's not as rigorous as as you know, going back
- 3:30Speaker 1: to the Secretariat years and obviously before that they raced
- 3:33Speaker 1: a lot more. But for flight line. They've they've managed
- 3:37Speaker 1: him so well. He did have to miss some time
- 3:39Speaker 1: at the beginning of the year. That's why we didn't
- 3:41Speaker 1: see him come back until June in the met mile Um,
- 3:44Speaker 1: which was his first start of the year. So they've
- 3:46Speaker 1: had to be patient, take their time, and they're not
- 3:48Speaker 1: forcing the issue. They know that they've got a great horse.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They know that the Stallion UH deal is is in
- 3:55Speaker 1: place that that is to come on down the line.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So they're picking their spots in the biggest rays and
- 4:00Speaker 1: that's what they've done this year. Mett Mile is one
- 4:02Speaker 1: of the marquee races during the summer. It's a stallion
- 4:04Speaker 1: making race TVG Pacific Classic, one of the marquee races
- 4:07Speaker 1: during the summer. He dusted a field showing that he
- 4:10Speaker 1: can go the mino quarter distance, the same distance that
- 4:12Speaker 1: will be running on Saturday. So you know, this is
- 4:15Speaker 1: the end of the year test what they do with
- 4:17Speaker 1: him UH next year. They've talked about the fact that
- 4:20Speaker 1: that he could run again next year. Now does that
- 4:22Speaker 1: mean an entire campaign? Does that mean running in in
- 4:25Speaker 1: Saudi Arabia at the end of February and a twenty
- 4:27Speaker 1: million dollar race. Most likely that would be something that
- 4:31Speaker 1: I think that they would look at, and why not,
- 4:33Speaker 1: because then after that, if he's going to stand at
- 4:36Speaker 1: stud next season, they've got to start preparing him for
- 4:38Speaker 1: that transition into stud duties. So that would be about
- 4:41Speaker 1: the last opportunity to run at the end of February
- 4:44Speaker 1: before you have to worry about that. So, um, you
- 4:47Speaker 1: know that he is. He's a brilliant horse. Race fans
- 4:50Speaker 1: obviously would love to have seen more from him and
- 4:52Speaker 1: hope that we do get a chance to see more
- 4:53Speaker 1: from him, but the reality is that we've got to
- 4:56Speaker 1: enjoy the opportunities that we've had with him to to
- 5:00Speaker 1: see him race, and obviously on Saturday is going to
- 5:02Speaker 1: be one of those opportunities and and one of, if
- 5:05Speaker 1: not the biggest of his career. What makes him he's
- 5:11Speaker 1: insanely fast, I mean, just as simply put as possible, um,
- 5:16Speaker 1: And he's shown that speed at short sprint distances, and
- 5:20Speaker 1: then they've gotten him to relax in the mornings, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: you need to be able to relax in these longer
- 5:25Speaker 1: distance races because you can't just be speed all the
- 5:27Speaker 1: time going to mount a quarter into two turn race,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and so they've worked on that they got him to relax,
- 5:32Speaker 1: and they got the kind of performance that they did
- 5:34Speaker 1: from him in the TVG Pacific Classic where he relaxed,
- 5:37Speaker 1: but then at about midway through the race, it was
- 5:40Speaker 1: you couldn't hold him anymore, right, he had to he
- 5:43Speaker 1: had to be let go. And once Flavia and Pratt
- 5:45Speaker 1: let him go, he just absolutely decimated that field by
- 5:48Speaker 1: nineteen lengths and would have broken the track record if
- 5:52Speaker 1: they would have let him run a little bit more.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But there was no need to. I mean, he had
- 5:55Speaker 1: the race wrapped up, so why push on him? So,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I mean, he is just he's got the right mindset.
- 6:00Speaker 1: He's obviously got wicked speed, and he's a he's a
- 6:03Speaker 1: physical specimen. He's not the most overwhelming, intimidating looking horse,
- 6:07Speaker 1: but if you see him, he's just perfectly balanced. He
- 6:10Speaker 1: just looks like an athlete. There's just he's proportioned correctly
- 6:13Speaker 1: for his size, for his shape, and he puts it
- 6:17Speaker 1: all together and he is an absolute freak of nature.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So they always talk about in the mythology of Thoroughbreds,
- 6:25Speaker 1: horses having personalities. They're cheeky, or they're aggressive, or they're fighters.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Can you describe a personality for flight line, Like, what
- 6:35Speaker 1: is going to attach people to flight line? As he
- 6:38Speaker 1: gets older and the hype around him continues to grow,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I can't sit here and speak to his personality. I've
- 6:45Speaker 1: not spent that much time with him, next to him,
- 6:47Speaker 1: around him, because truthfully, going into the TV Pacific Classic,
- 6:51Speaker 1: they really tried to keep people back, and you know,
- 6:54Speaker 1: we've seen him. The closest been to him was just
- 6:55Speaker 1: the other day when he was schooling in the paddock
- 6:58Speaker 1: and he just kind of took it all in. But
- 6:59Speaker 1: he's deaf, really an intelligent type of horse. And you know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: people may say, how the hell do you know that
- 7:05Speaker 1: a horse is intelligent? Well, you just have to observe them, right,
- 7:08Speaker 1: He's just the type of horse he'll stop and he
- 7:11Speaker 1: just kind of looks at everything and observes everything, and
- 7:14Speaker 1: he you know, he's just when you see horses do that.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Bob Bafford talks about it a lot when he comes
- 7:19Speaker 1: to to these keenly in September sales that when they're
- 7:21Speaker 1: buying the yearlings for hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars
- 7:25Speaker 1: in which they do you like to see a horse
- 7:27Speaker 1: that just kind of looks off into the distance, and
- 7:29Speaker 1: is looking off into you know, into the world. And
- 7:31Speaker 1: he's had a lot of success looking at horses like that,
- 7:34Speaker 1: looking for that kind of horse when they're young and
- 7:37Speaker 1: and it marks intelligence. So watching him do that, that's
- 7:41Speaker 1: what I would say. But he's a horse that you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: he's been He's been followed by everybody here this week.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I mean the attention that he's gotten. I think he's
- 7:50Speaker 1: getting used to that, the cameras being around, the people
- 7:52Speaker 1: always want to being around and wanting to get a
- 7:54Speaker 1: look at him, because these horses they sense it. They
- 7:57Speaker 1: they sense the attention that they're getting. I have one
- 7:59Speaker 1: more quiet, and I'm hogging the questions and I'm gonna
- 8:01Speaker 1: let Simon go. But you mentioned in one of the
- 8:04Speaker 1: earlier answers about the business of flight line and how
- 8:08Speaker 1: they want to have him race. Can you describe for
- 8:12Speaker 1: people this was not a purchase. I think it was
- 8:15Speaker 1: a million bucks that people paid for him, and now
- 8:18Speaker 1: there is going to be it is going to be
- 8:21Speaker 1: much more expensive to be in the flight line business.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Can you explain sort of what happens next and the
- 8:26Speaker 1: ceiling on what the cost could be to be an
- 8:28Speaker 1: investor in this horse. I don't know what the number
- 8:32Speaker 1: would be, because I mean when he ends up at
- 8:34Speaker 1: stud whether it's this coming breeding season or he's gonna
- 8:39Speaker 1: be a six six figure stallion, I mean he's gonna
- 8:43Speaker 1: stand for at least a hundred thousand dollars. I would
- 8:45Speaker 1: imagine maybe maybe more because of the attention and uh,
- 8:50Speaker 1: the brilliance of flight Line. But uh, if you were
- 8:53Speaker 1: the best way to get a gauge of of his
- 8:56Speaker 1: value will come on Monday at lanes End is actually
- 9:00Speaker 1: selling two and a half percent of flight Line on
- 9:02Speaker 1: Monday right here at the Keenland November sale. It will
- 9:07Speaker 1: be early in that in that day starts at one o'clock.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So whatever that number is for two and a half percent,
- 9:12Speaker 1: obviously we can do the math. And this is a
- 9:14Speaker 1: free market, right, They're gonna come over here. It's an auction,
- 9:17Speaker 1: so they're gonna bid whatever anybody wants to bid. It's
- 9:20Speaker 1: gonna be millions to get him at whether it will
- 9:22Speaker 1: be ten million plus, I don't know. Maybe that's too high,
- 9:26Speaker 1: but again it's flight line. It's two and a half
- 9:28Speaker 1: percent in what he does racing, if he in fact
- 9:31Speaker 1: continues to race, or obviously what he's gonna do uh,
- 9:35Speaker 1: when he ends up at stud over at lanes and farms.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So I mean he's probably worth close to a hundred
- 9:42Speaker 1: million dollars, would be my guests just a million dollar investment.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Now it could be worth a hundred million dollars easily
- 9:50Speaker 1: because you think about what he's gonna I mean, let's
- 9:52Speaker 1: just say he covers a hundred fifty mayors a season
- 9:56Speaker 1: moving forward, which they can you know, horses do breed more.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It depends on how they want to approach it and
- 10:01Speaker 1: manage his his stallion book. But you know, you're talking
- 10:05Speaker 1: about at least a hundred thousand, if not more. And
- 10:07Speaker 1: if he starts getting success, he'll be a couple hundred
- 10:10Speaker 1: thousand dollars stallion. So you're playing the long game. He's
- 10:12Speaker 1: got decades to come in front of him for to
- 10:15Speaker 1: make money, to you know, to to bring back people's investments.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And obviously you want to be part of this horse,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and they're breeders that are gonna want to be part
- 10:23Speaker 1: have access to it as well, right, having that ability
- 10:26Speaker 1: if you own part of them, you would have you
- 10:27Speaker 1: know a little bit more immediate access to to being
- 10:30Speaker 1: able to breed the flight line. But yeah, a million
- 10:33Speaker 1: dollar investment to what he's become. It doesn't happen every time,
- 10:36Speaker 1: but that's that's this sport. I mean, the amount of
- 10:39Speaker 1: money they spent in September, in two weeks, over four
- 10:42Speaker 1: hundred million dollars was spent on year leaks and those
- 10:45Speaker 1: are horses that will not race until next year and
- 10:47Speaker 1: and beyond. But that's you have to have deep pockets
- 10:50Speaker 1: at times to get in. And there's a lot of
- 10:52Speaker 1: horses that have been bought for a lot less money,
- 10:55Speaker 1: a couple of thousand dollars that have gone on to
- 10:56Speaker 1: make hundreds of thousands, if not millions. It's the reality
- 10:59Speaker 1: is it's not an exact science. If it was, you know,
- 11:02Speaker 1: we would just be knocking it out of the park
- 11:04Speaker 1: every time. But that's the the the loure, the romantic
- 11:08Speaker 1: nature of it is coming back trying to figure this
- 11:10Speaker 1: sport out, trying to pick out based on bloodlines, based
- 11:13Speaker 1: on physical perspectives, and obviously a million dollars a lot
- 11:16Speaker 1: of horse to a lot of money to give for
- 11:18Speaker 1: a horse, and he's panned out well beyond the expectations,
- 11:22Speaker 1: even with that first a million dollar investment. Well, it's
- 11:25Speaker 1: it's fair to say after this weekend, me, Simon and
- 11:29Speaker 1: Matt Mitchell, we're gonna be have so much money. We're
- 11:32Speaker 1: gonna buy fancy cats and on Monday morning we're probably
- 11:35Speaker 1: gonna invest all of our winnings from the weekend. After it,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you can open a credit. I mean, you don't even
- 11:41Speaker 1: have to have cash. You can reduce your get your
- 11:42Speaker 1: credit open down that much? Is it under the table here?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Where is it? I can't talk about it right now.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And by the way, for those folks that can't make
- 11:51Speaker 1: it out to the Keenland of Embersale, they're actually going
- 11:53Speaker 1: to conduct this sale in the metaverse. So that's that's
- 11:57Speaker 1: one of the things that you know, it's going to
- 11:58Speaker 1: be auctioned off in real life. But for those people
- 12:01Speaker 1: that that can't make it out there, you can head
- 12:03Speaker 1: to the metaverse and find flight Line being two of
- 12:08Speaker 1: Flightline being sold. Now piggybacking off, we were just talking
- 12:10Speaker 1: about earlier about the breeding. How did it happen that? Again?
- 12:13Speaker 1: People can't realize that horses were not native to America,
- 12:16Speaker 1: right the Spaniards the Europeans brought them over. Why is
- 12:19Speaker 1: it that our racehorses now, all these years later, so
- 12:22Speaker 1: much better than what's produced in Europe, like we have
- 12:24Speaker 1: all these horses now. Is it just simply because we
- 12:27Speaker 1: bred over the years and really put time and effort
- 12:29Speaker 1: into it. I always wonder why is it that we
- 12:31Speaker 1: reread the best horses in the world. Again, you don't
- 12:33Speaker 1: go other places right to buy the racehorses, maybe Patrick England.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You go to England, right, They have some very great
- 12:40Speaker 1: runners there, absolutely, and they you know, it's a different
- 12:42Speaker 1: type of racing over there, even though it is horse racing,
- 12:45Speaker 1: they primarily racing on turf. So you're gonna look more
- 12:48Speaker 1: when you look at those horses that have been sold
- 12:50Speaker 1: over in Europe, more turf type pedigrees. And there's a
- 12:53Speaker 1: lot of people that have gone over there in recent
- 12:55Speaker 1: years acquired horses out of those big cities to bring
- 12:59Speaker 1: here because as worked out for them. Absolutely out because
- 13:02Speaker 1: you you want to bring that influence here because we
- 13:04Speaker 1: have plenty of turf racing throughout North America. Obviously, dirt
- 13:08Speaker 1: racing has been king and will continue to be kinging
- 13:10Speaker 1: uh in the US and North America. But now there's
- 13:13Speaker 1: plenty of very well bred In fact, the most successful
- 13:17Speaker 1: stallion in modern day history is a horse by the
- 13:19Speaker 1: name of Galileo, and he's approaching a milestone of a
- 13:23Speaker 1: hundred group slash Grade one winners. He's he passed away
- 13:27Speaker 1: just a few years back, but even his sons and
- 13:30Speaker 1: daughters that are running now, you know, posthumously for him
- 13:34Speaker 1: that obviously, you know, he was part of the creation
- 13:36Speaker 1: back before he passed are still winning Grade one races.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And and Galileo stood in Ireland and has had one
- 13:42Speaker 1: of the greatest impacts in this this game and and
- 13:45Speaker 1: in the breed as a whole. So you mentioned Bafford.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You mentioned Bob Bafford what he looks for in a horse. Obviously,
- 13:52Speaker 1: he's been a huge storyline in horse race in the
- 13:55Speaker 1: past couple of years. Uh controversial. He's got horses this week.
- 14:01Speaker 1: What do you expect from his horses? What's it like
- 14:05Speaker 1: having him back in the course at a at a
- 14:08Speaker 1: major event like this. I mean, he deserves to be here.
- 14:11Speaker 1: He's got some of the best horses in the world.
- 14:13Speaker 1: He's got clients that allow him to go over and
- 14:16Speaker 1: and hand pick out the best yearlings that that he likes,
- 14:19Speaker 1: that his team likes and get them. And you know,
- 14:22Speaker 1: with all that stuff being in the past, you know
- 14:24Speaker 1: he's he's served his time. I mean, that's the reality.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna sit here and and revisit all
- 14:29Speaker 1: of those things. But at what point in time do
- 14:31Speaker 1: we move past something that has already happened and he
- 14:35Speaker 1: has accepted his punishments and and you know put in
- 14:38Speaker 1: those sixty days. I mean, it's he He's gonna be
- 14:41Speaker 1: at these big events. That's the reality. He's he is
- 14:44Speaker 1: arguably the best modern day trainer, especially with dirt horses
- 14:47Speaker 1: that we have seen and may ever ever see. So uh,
- 14:51Speaker 1: when you come to these big races, he's gonna be here. Now.
- 14:53Speaker 1: He won't be at the Derby next year because he's
- 14:55Speaker 1: got that one more year. But that's a separate situation
- 14:57Speaker 1: for that location in itself. So what do you think
- 15:00Speaker 1: of the horses he has for this weekend? He's the
- 15:04Speaker 1: horse that runs today Cave Rock. He looks to be
- 15:07Speaker 1: an absolute freak. I mean, he's he's a young horse
- 15:10Speaker 1: that has just run away from his competition in southern California.
- 15:14Speaker 1: He's done so at shorter distances and stretched out to
- 15:16Speaker 1: longer distances. And watching him training his workouts, the way
- 15:20Speaker 1: that he pulls away from his workmates, they're gonna have
- 15:23Speaker 1: a very difficult time beating this horse. He is going
- 15:26Speaker 1: to be the early favorite for the Kentucky Derby uh
- 15:29Speaker 1: next year, and obviously there's some moving parts that has
- 15:31Speaker 1: to go on there, um if he performs the way
- 15:33Speaker 1: that I think everybody expects. But he he is a
- 15:36Speaker 1: absolute specimen and uh, the fastest year old of this
- 15:40Speaker 1: of this group of freshman horses. All right, I think
- 15:43Speaker 1: it's time for us to ask you for the winners
- 15:47Speaker 1: because yeah, well you know, I think it's important to
- 15:49Speaker 1: get all of them. We want to get thorough. Uh No,
- 15:51Speaker 1: what I want to what I want to get from
- 15:53Speaker 1: you specifically is because we have this uh promotion that
- 15:56Speaker 1: we're doing with fand oil and you can help us
- 15:59Speaker 1: win all the money. So there's this new fan duel.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Players can bet the Breeders Cup with a no sweat
- 16:05Speaker 1: bet up to one back and FanDuel racing on your
- 16:10Speaker 1: first single horse to win. Bet what horses are we
- 16:16Speaker 1: betting on? Because we're gonna win either way, either we're
- 16:19Speaker 1: getting the money back or we're gonna win the money.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So who are we betting on? All right? So let's
- 16:23Speaker 1: let's focus on Saturday show. We've got nine on Saturday,
- 16:26Speaker 1: We've got nine Breeders Cup races, and like the Breeder's
- 16:28Speaker 1: Cup Classic is the one that everyone talks about, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: that's gonna have sort of the most attention. But you
- 16:33Speaker 1: don't have to just bet the Breeders Cup Classics. So
- 16:35Speaker 1: just give us the winners and the races, man, I mean,
- 16:39Speaker 1: that's what we do here. Let's let's roll through them.
- 16:41Speaker 1: We're just gonna roll through. Starting with the Breeders Cup
- 16:43Speaker 1: Fillionmire Sprint. I'm going obligatory the number seven horse, that's
- 16:47Speaker 1: race three on Saturday. She's gonna be a good price.
- 16:49Speaker 1: She's a Grade one winner. Uh. These races tend to
- 16:52Speaker 1: be very quickly run and allow horses to come from
- 16:55Speaker 1: off the pace, especially at this distance. Will give me
- 16:57Speaker 1: obligatory the seven and race number three, the Phillion Merse Sprint,
- 17:01Speaker 1: the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint. Golden Pal is going to
- 17:04Speaker 1: be a massive favorite, as he should be, but I
- 17:07Speaker 1: think that the seven horse arrest Me Read is good
- 17:10Speaker 1: enough to hang there with him, and his numbers suggest
- 17:12Speaker 1: that he's fifteen to one on the morning line. We'll
- 17:14Speaker 1: probably get a double digit odds come post time. So
- 17:17Speaker 1: in race four, the seven arrest me read uh in
- 17:20Speaker 1: the Big Gas Fans Breeders Cup, Dirt Mile, having a
- 17:22Speaker 1: regroup there a little bit because I loved Laurel River.
- 17:25Speaker 1: But he's not gonna be running. Just found that out
- 17:26Speaker 1: earlier today. Gimme good night. The five on a two
- 17:29Speaker 1: week turnaround. He just ran two weeks ago and one
- 17:32Speaker 1: of stakes race here at Keenland, and his trainer, Steve
- 17:34Speaker 1: Asmussen um his phenomenal period and I've spoke to some
- 17:39Speaker 1: of the connections with him right after that race said
- 17:41Speaker 1: the horse is not gonna be bothered at all coming
- 17:43Speaker 1: back in two weeks. He just shows up every time.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So good night. In the Dirt Mile, Uh, Maker's Mark,
- 17:48Speaker 1: Breeders Cup, Phillion Mayre Turf. I'm going to Lady Spite Spear.
- 17:51Speaker 1: She's gonna be a big price, close to twenty to one.
- 17:54Speaker 1: If she breaks well and doesn't have issues with the
- 17:56Speaker 1: gate which she has in the past. She has the
- 17:58Speaker 1: potential to upset and she can make the lead in
- 18:01Speaker 1: this race. Will give me Lady Spits Beer the one
- 18:03Speaker 1: in race six, Race seven, the Guitar Breeders Cup Sprint. Uh,
- 18:07Speaker 1: It's all about Jackie's Warrior. They can't hang with him.
- 18:10Speaker 1: They certainly can't hang with him going six furlongs. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: think he dazzles in that Breeders Cup sprint in the
- 18:16Speaker 1: breed Fandal Breeders Cup Mile. Uh. Gonna go with Ivar,
- 18:19Speaker 1: another price horse. He's a Grade one winner here at Keenland.
- 18:22Speaker 1: He put together a strong effort last time out. There's
- 18:24Speaker 1: gonna be a lot of attention on the Euros like
- 18:26Speaker 1: Modern Games and some of these other horses like dream Loper.
- 18:29Speaker 1: But I'll go with Ivar here at Keenland on a
- 18:31Speaker 1: home game for him. In the distaff, malloth At the
- 18:35Speaker 1: class Mayor, daughter of Curland. She loves it here at Keenland.
- 18:37Speaker 1: She's never lost in three attempts. She's probably gonna be
- 18:40Speaker 1: a second choice behind Nest. But I like malleth At
- 18:43Speaker 1: in the distaff, the Breeders Cup Turf, Broom the four.
- 18:46Speaker 1: If he breaks well, he's gonna have himself in a
- 18:48Speaker 1: good position. I like the fact that I read Ortiz Jr.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Gets the call for these Irish connections, Aidan O'Brien and
- 18:54Speaker 1: the cool more connections. Watch out for Broom in the
- 18:56Speaker 1: turf and then in the Breeders Cup Classic, it's flight
- 19:00Speaker 1: line and if you want to play an exacta flight
- 19:04Speaker 1: line over Taba, I think Taba the one horse is
- 19:08Speaker 1: absolutely good enough to be right there in the end
- 19:10Speaker 1: as a second place finish. Uh in here, So give
- 19:13Speaker 1: me flight line over Taba. That's four over the one
- 19:16Speaker 1: in the Classic. You nailed it. Thank you. That was fans.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I can see why you do everything for Fantuelty because
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know all of it. It must be a great
- 19:25Speaker 1: feeling to wake up in the morning. No, you know
- 19:28Speaker 1: exactly what you're gonna do and how you're gonna make
- 19:30Speaker 1: money betting on horses. Well, it's great because during these times,
- 19:34Speaker 1: during these big weekends, because we've seen them race, right,
- 19:36Speaker 1: We've seen these horses compete throughout the year, compete throughout
- 19:40Speaker 1: the lead up to to these Breeders Cup World Championships,
- 19:43Speaker 1: So you know you've seen him run. I mean you can.
- 19:46Speaker 1: We can talk about them just off the coff if
- 19:48Speaker 1: we need to. But that's what we do. We we
- 19:50Speaker 1: cover racing every single day. That's what we do on
- 19:53Speaker 1: Fandel TV. We we we keep a finger on the
- 19:57Speaker 1: pulse of its worldwide and try to do our best.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's a lot of fun. We get to come here
- 20:01Speaker 1: to these kind of places and be part of these big,
- 20:03Speaker 1: big weekends like the Breeders Cup and being a partner
- 20:06Speaker 1: with the Breeders Cup. It's it truly is a fun
- 20:09Speaker 1: a fun place to work and a fun industry to
- 20:12Speaker 1: be part of. I love it. I feel informed. We're
- 20:14Speaker 1: having a great day at Keenland. It's freaking beautiful, like
- 20:19Speaker 1: I feel lucky. Man, you're in a good spot, a
- 20:22Speaker 1: spot sunshining. Everybody's well dressed here, well except for Simon.
- 20:28Speaker 1: He didn't get them, but he's he's crushing right now.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He's he's got seriously. Simon's in his hoodie and short're
- 20:39Speaker 1: repping right now. He's on his second period of the
- 20:40Speaker 1: Day's right, Scott, thanks for coming by man anytime. A
- 20:47Speaker 1: pleasure and hopefully we can catch up Derby. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 1: that'd be right. All the rest of them, we're always there. Well,
- 20:54Speaker 1: we're on the air all the time. We need to help.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I'm here to help. Good to see. Let's make that
- 20:58Speaker 1: money and then you can go down and buy two
- 20:59Speaker 1: and after on a flight line at least and they're off.
- 21:03Speaker 1: The Breeders Cup is here and you can bet the
- 21:05Speaker 1: horses with FanDuel Racing official wagering partner of the Breeders

- 21:52Speaker 1: TV giving us expert opinions advice everything we need to
- 21:57Speaker 1: make some money in the Breeders Cup this week. Yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I gotta say, Simon, it's insane here, how nice it is? Really?
- 22:07Speaker 1: I was track side, I watched some races this morning.
- 22:10Speaker 1: The sun is out, the crowd is great. The hats
- 22:14Speaker 1: are beautiful. I feel lucky to be here. It is
- 22:17Speaker 1: seventy degrees in November, sunnies could be not cloud in
- 22:21Speaker 1: the sky, beautiful track. Good racing two right, I mean
- 22:25Speaker 1: every race has been good. I watched two different races.
- 22:27Speaker 1: The first race we saw was a tie. What do
- 22:29Speaker 1: they call that? Dead heat? Dead heat? Dead heat? That
- 22:35Speaker 1: was great. And then the next race was literally came
- 22:37Speaker 1: down to like not even not even a yard in
- 22:39Speaker 1: between the first and second place. So well, pretty exciting.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I got tickets on three races later today. Last night
- 22:46Speaker 1: was also a good time. Me you. Matt Mitchell Stucky,
- 22:51Speaker 1: one of the o g s, host of the b
- 22:53Speaker 1: BOC podcast, co host of the Action Network NFL podcast
- 22:57Speaker 1: with Rayburn, most followed expert in the Action Network app.
- 23:02Speaker 1: He lives in Lexington. His wife is a minority owner
- 23:06Speaker 1: and runs two bars, the Two Keys and Stagger In.
- 23:09Speaker 1: We were both of them last night. We had to
- 23:13Speaker 1: watch the Phillies lose and that was that was intense um,
- 23:19Speaker 1: but we did get our friend, uh Roy Berker noticed
- 23:24Speaker 1: us that the Two Keys brought us a shot, a
- 23:26Speaker 1: couple of shots. That was nice. It's a great town
- 23:30Speaker 1: here in Lexington. Yeah, I would say horrible night as
- 23:33Speaker 1: a Phillies fans a better. I lost a ton of
- 23:35Speaker 1: money in the Phillies, lost a ton of money on
- 23:37Speaker 1: the Eagles first half. In the Eagles. Spread the good
- 23:40Speaker 1: vibes with Chad. It was Chad Man, Mitchell Stucky. It
- 23:42Speaker 1: was a really good time. It was a great name.
- 23:45Speaker 1: It was definitely funny where you know when you visit
- 23:47Speaker 1: places and you've got a friend that's a local and
- 23:49Speaker 1: you've never been there, and they're just taking on the
- 23:51Speaker 1: whole full tour, like stuck into all the spots. My
- 23:54Speaker 1: favorite part of the night was we're walking around to
- 23:56Speaker 1: Fair we were gonna go next and Chad just starts
- 23:59Speaker 1: leading us out of nowhere and Stucky goes, do you
- 24:01Speaker 1: know where you're going? Because no, I'm just walking. That
- 24:04Speaker 1: was the best part of the night because Steven stuck
- 24:06Speaker 1: in and and we're all following you for about half a block.
- 24:08Speaker 1: We're like, wait, why are we even following chat right now? So, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: it was a good night. It's a bad habit I have.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I just started going. I figure get there, maybe people
- 24:15Speaker 1: will follow it along with me. Sometimes you get there,
- 24:18Speaker 1: Sometimes you don't think God stuck he was there to
- 24:20Speaker 1: get us to the next place. They're two great bars.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Didn't mention though we went to a raising kane. We
- 24:26Speaker 1: did do some raising kanes. We got pretty hungry and
- 24:29Speaker 1: first time for watching the back alley of two Keys
- 24:32Speaker 1: and went to raising kanes right after the UK game
- 24:35Speaker 1: got out and everybody was there dressed in their blue jerseys. Alright,
- 24:39Speaker 1: so listen, the Phillies are looking tough down three two. Okay,
- 24:46Speaker 1: that's what we think. One more game, uh, one more
- 24:49Speaker 1: game tonight in Philly, right back back to back and
- 24:53Speaker 1: Saturday and Sunday. I want to talk to some NFL
- 24:56Speaker 1: before we before we get out of here. One thing
- 24:58Speaker 1: that came up that people have been to ask NFC futures.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about it on Green Dot
- 25:04Speaker 1: Daily earlier this week. Minnesota six and one, the San
- 25:09Speaker 1: Francisco forty Niners are one back of the Seahawks. The
- 25:13Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Box are one back of the Atlanta Falcons.
- 25:16Speaker 1: If we're starting to survey the landscape, I'm not a
- 25:19Speaker 1: buyer on the Vikings. I'm probably not a buyer on
- 25:22Speaker 1: the Falcons, who were in the first place. I'm not
- 25:24Speaker 1: going to be a buyer on the Seahawks. What are
- 25:26Speaker 1: your thoughts right now? Yeah, and again the forty Niners.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It's interesting where they've already won the game, right, They've
- 25:31Speaker 1: already won the early match with the Seahawks, So you
- 25:33Speaker 1: can actually look at as if they're just half a
- 25:34Speaker 1: game back just because of that. They got that right now,
- 25:37Speaker 1: and they have to play each other down in the road.
- 25:38Speaker 1: But to me, Chad, the is the pick. Right. We
- 25:43Speaker 1: saw it last year there in the NFC Championship game.
- 25:45Speaker 1: They've only improved since then. Right, They've signed players, We've
- 25:49Speaker 1: seen McCaffrey again, Debo hasn't been playing that well this year,
- 25:53Speaker 1: and a doesn't matter because you can stepped up for
- 25:55Speaker 1: them as a wide receiver. So with the McCaffrey cheek code,
- 25:58Speaker 1: it's just one of these no brainer picks. It feels
- 26:00Speaker 1: like we're sitting here. I wish I could say to you,
- 26:03Speaker 1: I love the Eagles and they're gonna win it all.
- 26:05Speaker 1: It just never works that way, right. The team that's
- 26:07Speaker 1: the hottest to start the year, just like the Cardinals
- 26:09Speaker 1: were last year. At this point last year, Cardinals were
- 26:11Speaker 1: eight and one, seven and one complete fell off a cliff. Now,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I think the Eagles will off the cliff. No, not,
- 26:16Speaker 1: they will not because our division again, they look strong
- 26:19Speaker 1: right now. But am I scared of the giants in
- 26:22Speaker 1: Washington come December November? Not really. Again, I think Dallas
- 26:25Speaker 1: will give us a tough game. But if you look
- 26:27Speaker 1: at the Eagle schedule against the AFC South, they have
- 26:29Speaker 1: some cupcake games. I think it's beneficial the Seahawks. They're
- 26:33Speaker 1: gonna push the forty Niners all year. That's gonna be
- 26:35Speaker 1: a nice test for them where there's no taking the
- 26:37Speaker 1: foot off the gas. They're gonna have to play hard
- 26:38Speaker 1: all year. Because Seahawks, we both agree, they look like
- 26:40Speaker 1: they're gonna make the cliffs. They look pretty for real.
- 26:42Speaker 1: That will be as a wild card or the divisional.
- 26:45Speaker 1: That's a big game because if I'm gonna make take
- 26:47Speaker 1: my money right, I've been on the forty Niners to
- 26:48Speaker 1: win the super Bowl. You're builting in that the books
- 26:51Speaker 1: right now, in the minus fifty win the division right
- 26:54Speaker 1: That means the books that built that into the super
- 26:56Speaker 1: Bowl line. So to me, if you're buying that number
- 26:58Speaker 1: the super Bowl, you might well head the divisional line.
- 27:01Speaker 1: If you don't want to touch it, wait because you're
- 27:02Speaker 1: gonna get better odds the Seahawks take that division. That
- 27:05Speaker 1: means every game the four Nights will need to win
- 27:06Speaker 1: on the road. That's a big deal. So to me,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'll get down early on it. I'm gonna buy the
- 27:12Speaker 1: fort Nars now because I do think they're gonna start
- 27:14Speaker 1: getting healthy and turn a corner here. But it's definitely
- 27:16Speaker 1: interesting looking all the futures where you know people are
- 27:18Speaker 1: gonna be on Dallas. What have we seen Dallas in
- 27:20Speaker 1: the playoffs? They always choke? What have we seen Kirk
- 27:22Speaker 1: Couzes doing the playoffs right? And then you look at
- 27:24Speaker 1: the Eagles team and again I love all the hype.
- 27:27Speaker 1: It's just hard to win Man, and especially Hurts has
- 27:29Speaker 1: never won a playoff game. So to think you can
- 27:32Speaker 1: just go from nothing to run in making a run
- 27:34Speaker 1: to the super Bowl, It's tough to sit here in
- 27:36Speaker 1: November and think he's gonna do that. But best value
- 27:38Speaker 1: to me bet right now before Niners. It was fun
- 27:41Speaker 1: last night. You know Matt Mitchell, who unfortunately doesn't have
- 27:44Speaker 1: access to him Mike, otherwise you know he'd be jumping in,
- 27:47Speaker 1: but wrong, you are chat just just like that. Matt Mitchell,
- 27:52Speaker 1: he jumps in Matt Mitchell and his master's coat. Um,
- 27:57Speaker 1: we were talking about because in it to believe, if
- 28:00Speaker 1: you're hanging out with Simon, Matt Mitchell, and Stucky, there's
- 28:03Speaker 1: going to be a conversation about random betting events that
- 28:08Speaker 1: could happen. So the Bills Matt Mitchell's favorite team, the Eagles,
- 28:13Speaker 1: Simon Hunter's favorite team. If the Eagles go undefeated, which
- 28:17Speaker 1: you don't know, like, look, they've got a cupcake schedule. Um,
- 28:21Speaker 1: we still had the Bills. As how many point favorites
- 28:25Speaker 1: in a Super Bowl Matt Mitchell I believe it was
- 28:27Speaker 1: four and a half point favorites over an undefeated potential
- 28:30Speaker 1: Eagles NFC champion? Is that correct, Simon? I think that's
- 28:33Speaker 1: what the books would make it. Yeah, why do you
- 28:35Speaker 1: come to that number, Simon? You go first? Honestly, I
- 28:38Speaker 1: make it that number just in this sense that the
- 28:41Speaker 1: a f C has already been touted right now is
- 28:43Speaker 1: the better decide? Right if you look at Super Bowl futures,
- 28:46Speaker 1: you're gonna take the number right now. I believe it's
- 28:48Speaker 1: minus three for the a f C or the NFC.
- 28:51Speaker 1: So right right there, right you already know where the
- 28:53Speaker 1: books are kind of leading what side. That's pretty much
- 28:55Speaker 1: saying to you right now that both are the one
- 28:56Speaker 1: seeds or the Bills and the Eagles. Right, so next
- 28:59Speaker 1: time that book that number reflects when I make a
- 29:02Speaker 1: four and a half. That's kind of like when the
- 29:03Speaker 1: Eagles played the Patriots right a couple of years ago.
- 29:07Speaker 1: We already know the public they're just gonna come on
- 29:09Speaker 1: the other side, like Josh Allen, especially if Josh Allen's MVP,
- 29:14Speaker 1: which right it's looking that way right now, he's gonna
- 29:16Speaker 1: probably win m v P n less something happens where
- 29:18Speaker 1: hert steals are from him. But to me, when you
- 29:20Speaker 1: have a team like the Bills that coming into the
- 29:21Speaker 1: year they're the hype team and now they're producing right there,
- 29:24Speaker 1: backing up the hype, I just I cannot see a
- 29:27Speaker 1: book lane a three, right. I feel like they need
- 29:29Speaker 1: to hang a four to get that money from the professionals.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Or if they hang a three, I might buy the
- 29:33Speaker 1: Bills there because that's a good number to backup Bills team.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I don't usually like producing hypothetical sports spending content. Shout
- 29:42Speaker 1: out to everyone who's ever talked about the NBA on
- 29:45Speaker 1: the podcast, but I think that number also reflects that
- 29:49Speaker 1: the bills like you mentioned are quarterbacks by Josh Allen
- 29:51Speaker 1: of a beautiful half horse, half man war machine who's
- 29:55Speaker 1: single handedly saving the economy of Western New York and
- 29:59Speaker 1: and my personally, so I look forward to his inevitable
- 30:03Speaker 1: run to the Super Bowl or his his getting injured,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and I just, uh, I climb up onto the room
- 30:09Speaker 1: from my house and jump off. So there's always next sure.
- 30:13Speaker 1: So yeah, it was a lot of fun hanging out
- 30:15Speaker 1: last night. Stuckies love language. It's definitely staying up late.
- 30:19Speaker 1: So it was. It's been a while since I've seen
- 30:21Speaker 1: the number three overnight on the clock. But his uh
- 30:25Speaker 1: that those staffs of those bars all know beloved stuck.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Everyone's being very nice. I don't know how he could
- 30:30Speaker 1: stand to hang out with people so young. Simon's about
- 30:33Speaker 1: the youngest person I want to hang out with. Yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: I agree with that. But it was a great night,
- 30:37Speaker 1: great night, great town, Horse Capital of the World, Lexington,
- 30:39Speaker 1: Kentucky love Yeah. I loved watching Matt Mitchell sweat the
- 30:44Speaker 1: Texans plus seven last night the second half, in the
- 30:49Speaker 1: second half and they came very close. They did cover
- 30:51Speaker 1: that big juicy six and the third quarterline by kicking
- 30:54Speaker 1: a field goal almost as time expired there, so I
- 30:57Speaker 1: couldn't decide who is angrier about the end of the
- 30:59Speaker 1: Famies game. Was it Matt Mitchell who was screaming in
- 31:03Speaker 1: my ear uh profanities that were so loud I worried
- 31:06Speaker 1: that the very large bartender was going to kick him
- 31:10Speaker 1: in the face, or Simon who could barely speak and
- 31:14Speaker 1: just kept saying, I'm gonna lose every bed tonight. I'm
- 31:16Speaker 1: gonna lose every bed tonight. It was that that side
- 31:19Speaker 1: of the table, that side of the bar was a
- 31:21Speaker 1: washing agony. Yeah, well again, I'm coming off twenty four hours.
- 31:25Speaker 1: You ever seen them get no hit? So it's just
- 31:27Speaker 1: feel like I'm stuck in up like never any nightmare
- 31:29Speaker 1: of Philly sadness right now. Where I didn't go to
- 31:32Speaker 1: the five r run game, went to the no hitter.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I'm in a bar, and again this is again one
- 31:37Speaker 1: of the reasons I've got in life. I attract the
- 31:39Speaker 1: weirdest people. If I'm at a bar, these people see
- 31:42Speaker 1: me for some reason, they want to talk to me.
- 31:44Speaker 1: This guy comes up and he would not stop talking. Yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 1: I thought, Matt Mitchell, I honestly thought you were going
