- 0:34What is up, everybody?
- 0:36Happy Monday to you all.
- 0:38It is lunchtime,
- 0:39lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:41Good Monday afternoon.
- 0:43Going to throw the dart.
- 0:48Just an average throw.
- 0:49Just an average throw today.
- 0:51Nothing to write home about.
- 0:52Nothing super bad.
- 0:54All right.
- 0:55So, yeah.
- 0:58Good to be with you all today.
- 0:59What's going on, Jody?
- 1:00On time today.
- 1:02Must not be having anybody
- 1:04in the sales room today.
- 1:06But hopefully you're selling
- 1:07cabinets like mad today.
- 1:10Anyway, so good to have you all here.
- 1:13I'm super excited to be here.
- 1:15Got a couple things I wanted
- 1:16to talk about.
- 1:17First of all, if you saw the thumbnail,
- 1:19congratulations to the
- 1:20Oklahoma City Thunder for
- 1:23winning the NBA championship last night.
- 1:26A little bit of a...
- 1:30let down for the Pacers who
- 1:31lost Tyrese Halliburton in
- 1:34the first part of the game.
- 1:37They showed the replay this
- 1:38morning because I was live
- 1:40on the air when it happened
- 1:41and you could see his Achilles pop.
- 1:44It made my stomach flip.
- 1:47Are you guys,
- 1:48do you guys look away when
- 1:49there are injuries like
- 1:50that in sports or are you
- 1:53one of those people that want to see it,
- 1:54see how it happened?
- 1:55Yeah.
- 1:57slow-mo at all of that kind
- 1:58of stuff I don't know why
- 2:00just seeing it the the
- 2:02achilles pop inside the
- 2:03skin just made my stomach
- 2:06flip usually I'm not that
- 2:08freaked out uh but it it
- 2:11got me this morning it was
- 2:13just because this first
- 2:14thing when I saw it and uh
- 2:17yeah so the pacers were
- 2:20behind the eight ball for
- 2:20the rest of the game and ended up that um
- 2:26the Oklahoma City Thunder
- 2:27won the championship.
- 2:28Congratulations to them.
- 2:31And yeah,
- 2:33they're the youngest team in the NBA.
- 2:35So look for them to be
- 2:37successful for the next several years.
- 2:45Jeffrey Birchfield,
- 2:46just learned my son and
- 2:47daughter-in-law are having number four.
- 2:50Wow.
- 2:51I barely could handle one.
- 2:55But congratulations to them.
- 2:58Lito, I can't watch.
- 2:59I compete myself.
- 3:00So that would definitely
- 3:01make me scared of certain
- 3:02movements in competition.
- 3:05Yeah, you probably want to avoid that.
- 3:09I think what I've learned in,
- 3:12especially in basketball,
- 3:14if you have a calf injury, woe it back.
- 3:18too many times when people
- 3:20have suffered a calf injury
- 3:21and try to play through it,
- 3:23this is what the next step is.
- 3:27It's not a hundred percent, but man,
- 3:29the chances are pretty good.
- 3:31You weaken that calf and the
- 3:33next thing to go is the Achilles.
- 3:36So
- 3:39Last night,
- 3:39I promised you a story about my
- 3:41car problems over the weekend.
- 3:43So I'm going to bang through
- 3:44that real quick.
- 3:46We got my second car back
- 3:48from my daughter when she
- 3:49moved to Montana.
- 3:50And then my wife immediately
- 3:51had knee replacement surgery.
- 3:53So it just kind of sat in
- 3:55our driveway for a couple months.
- 3:58And stupid me didn't go out and start it.
- 4:03So...
- 4:05My wife was going away
- 4:06Friday night and wanted to
- 4:07take that car because it
- 4:08was easier on her knee.
- 4:10And we went to start it up and nothing.
- 4:13Like absolutely nothing.
- 4:15So I hooked it up to the charger.
- 4:17As soon as I hooked it up to the charger,
- 4:19it got enough juice that it
- 4:21locked the car and the keys
- 4:23were in the ignition
- 4:26because it's a special key.
- 4:28It has some kind of magnetic
- 4:29piece in it that once you
- 4:31put it in the ignition and
- 4:32there's no power,
- 4:33you cannot get the keys out.
- 4:35And that is the only key we
- 4:36have for that car.
- 4:38so then when I hooked up the
- 4:39the jumper cables to charge
- 4:41it it got just enough juice
- 4:43and all of a sudden the car
- 4:44locked itself so now I have
- 4:46the keys inside the car the
- 4:47car is locked we this is
- 4:49like the fifth time it's
- 4:50happened um and I've seen
- 4:53when we had the locksmith
- 4:54or triple a come out and do
- 4:56it so I tried to do it
- 4:57myself where I took a crowbar and i
- 5:02pulled back a little bit on
- 5:03the back corner of the door.
- 5:05I did get a coat hanger through and,
- 5:09and it was not stiff enough
- 5:10to do what I needed to do.
- 5:12I kept the charger on the
- 5:13battery so that I could get
- 5:14some power to unlock and powered or,
- 5:18what ended up being power to the windows.
- 5:22But so then I taped a shish
- 5:24kebab skewer to the end of
- 5:26the coat hanger, got it through the crack,
- 5:29got it to finally rest on
- 5:32one of the buttons for the
- 5:33window and was able to give
- 5:35enough pressure to roll
- 5:36down one of the windows.
- 5:38And then I could reach in and unlock it.
- 5:42So that's how we got back in.
- 5:45I charged the battery up
- 5:47over fifty percent went to
- 5:49start it still nothing and
- 5:51then my charger read that
- 5:52the battery was kaput so
- 5:58so it was kaput that's what
- 5:59I called the semperfi
- 6:01mechanic which I talked
- 6:02about last night um he is a
- 6:04mobile mechanic he comes
- 6:05right to my driveway he
- 6:07brought a battery he
- 6:09replaced it the car started
- 6:11right up but huge shout out
- 6:13to him uh semperfi mechanic
- 6:16and he also is a youtuber
- 6:18we talked about that a lot
- 6:19while he was working but he
- 6:21recorded the installation
- 6:23and that's what he does for his youtube
- 6:25He has close to fifty thousand subscribers,
- 6:28but go check him out.
- 6:29Semper Fi Mechanic.
- 6:30If you have any car trouble,
- 6:32he does have tips and trick
- 6:34videos to show you how to
- 6:35kind of do some of the stuff on your own.
- 6:37And he's a really nice guy.
- 6:39So huge shout out to Semper Fi Mechanic.
- 6:42Go check out his YouTube
- 6:43channel if you have any car
- 6:46needs and you're trying to
- 6:47fix it yourself.
- 6:50So that was a fun Friday for me.
- 6:56And then my wife went on
- 6:59just a short little like
- 7:00twenty four hour vacation
- 7:02with her family and I
- 7:03stayed with the dog.
- 7:05But that gave me an
- 7:06opportunity to watch some
- 7:07stuff that I don't normally get to watch.
- 7:10And so I'm going to do a
- 7:11quick review of some
- 7:13CrossFit content that came
- 7:14out this weekend.
- 7:16The first thing is Road to
- 7:17the Games with Ricky Garrard, Matty Sturt,
- 7:21and Jay Crouch came out this weekend.
- 7:24I will say, in my opinion,
- 7:27that may be the best Road
- 7:29to the Games they've done this year.
- 7:33I hope it's because they're
- 7:36digging a little deeper and
- 7:38they just didn't get it by
- 7:39accident because of the
- 7:40personalities of the
- 7:41athletes that they were talking to.
- 7:45But when we get to see the
- 7:46inside of Ricky's old van
- 7:49and that he has a mattress
- 7:50in there because he kept
- 7:51getting kicked out of his
- 7:52house and he tells that story,
- 7:55I would have liked them to
- 7:57dig a little deeper there
- 7:59as to why that might be happening.
- 8:02But that was funny.
- 8:02And he had a bike in there.
- 8:03He had like lawn equipment,
- 8:07anything you would need in
- 8:08this two thousand eighteen minivan.
- 8:13I thought that was really
- 8:14quirky and funny.
- 8:16Um,
- 8:16and then the relationship between
- 8:18Maddie Sturt and Jay Crouch
- 8:20was really cool to see, uh,
- 8:23the way they work together,
- 8:24the way they live together, um,
- 8:26how they divvy up things.
- 8:28I thought that was really,
- 8:31I learned a lot about them.
- 8:33So I would give that one an a minus,
- 8:38not the best videos I've seen this year.
- 8:40Um,
- 8:43maybe a couple of small steps down,
- 8:45but really,
- 8:45really enjoyable and highly recommend.
- 8:48Um,
- 8:50I learned a lot about those
- 8:52athletes in this video.
- 8:54Again,
- 8:55I hope it's a trend that they
- 8:56continue on moving forward
- 8:59and not just something that
- 9:00accidentally happened.
- 9:04But I was really excited to
- 9:06see a little more in-depth
- 9:10storyline and not just them
- 9:12training themselves.
- 9:15getting ricky out on a bike
- 9:16course that's always funny
- 9:18so good at that and to talk
- 9:20about how he's never lost a
- 9:21bike race um at the
- 9:23crossfit games that was um
- 9:26that was really good uh
- 9:30lito I enjoyed that one too
- 9:32but I do think a big part
- 9:33of it was their personalities
- 9:36Yeah, I'm afraid that's the problem,
- 9:38but I hope, I hope,
- 9:40hope that they're learning
- 9:42from this and seeing where
- 9:43they can get a little more
- 9:45depth into the storyline.
- 9:53The next one that came out
- 9:54this weekend that I wanted
- 9:56to talk about was Hiller's
- 9:58video with Tyson Bajan and Erica Folo.
- 10:02And this is documenting...
- 10:06Tyson's buddy's birthday workout,
- 10:09which was, I believe,
- 10:11a seventy four minute AMRAP
- 10:15of just absurd stuff.
- 10:22They had to jump up on this
- 10:23wall and jump back down.
- 10:26There were it was burpees and.
- 10:31kettlebell snatches or
- 10:32dumbbell snatches whichever
- 10:34you had one partner would
- 10:36do the snatches one would
- 10:37do the burpees when both
- 10:39are completely done you
- 10:40could do the wall jumps and
- 10:41alternate and then it was
- 10:43an eight hundred meter run
- 10:45half of the way was a
- 10:46partner run half of the way
- 10:48was a partner carry um and
- 10:53it turned out that erica
- 10:54folo and her partner who was a um
- 11:00Spartan racer did really well.
- 11:02They took second in that one.
- 11:04I won't tell you where Tyson finished.
- 11:08Let you find that for your own.
- 11:10But it looked like the
- 11:11leaders got somewhere in
- 11:13the neighborhood of three
- 11:14rounds of that in.
- 11:16Seventy four minutes.
- 11:19If I saw seventy four minutes.
- 11:23I think I think I would just.
- 11:27Not want to.
- 11:28But I would probably enjoy
- 11:30it because I like once you
- 11:32get into those type of workouts,
- 11:33it's just kind of keep moving.
- 11:39The intensity isn't as high
- 11:40because you're going for so long.
- 11:42And so that's interesting.
- 11:44But I found the most
- 11:46interesting parts were them
- 11:49sitting around the Bajent
- 11:50table and Travis Bajent
- 11:53talking about his old arm
- 11:54wrestling days and Erica Folo reacting to
- 12:00Tyson's dad and all of that kind of stuff.
- 12:02I thought that was interesting.
- 12:04They also take Erica out on
- 12:06a football field to play
- 12:07catch with Tyson and she
- 12:10shows pretty good athleticism.
- 12:13I was really impressed with all that.
- 12:16So really good video, really fun to watch.
- 12:22I've said on this show that
- 12:24it actually is going to be
- 12:25my two worlds colliding.
- 12:26And at the very opening of this video,
- 12:29Mark Carman,
- 12:30who is on the podcast I watch
- 12:32for the Chicago Bears,
- 12:34is in the video
- 12:35interviewing Tyson in his garage,
- 12:38and Hiller picks that up
- 12:40and calls him out for
- 12:43working on the CHGO podcast.
- 12:46And so that's super, super cool.
- 12:48And then I was watching CHGO on Friday,
- 12:54and they actually –
- 12:55They're going to do a video, too,
- 12:57that comes out this Friday.
- 12:59But last Friday,
- 12:59they shouted out Hiller on
- 13:01their podcast for the fun
- 13:04they had in West Virginia
- 13:05with Tyson and crew.
- 13:07So it's wild that like the
- 13:10both both of my worlds are
- 13:12colliding and they're
- 13:13calling out each other and
- 13:15I sent a text to Hiller with
- 13:17that shout out,
- 13:18and he just kind of laughed about it.
- 13:20But really, really enjoyed that video.
- 13:24I like it because it's not
- 13:27straight down the middle CrossFit.
- 13:30It's a little bit of like,
- 13:31how would a football player do?
- 13:32How would a Spartan racer do
- 13:33with this CrossFit thing?
- 13:35Erica Folo is going to be a star.
- 13:37She's really,
- 13:38really fun to watch and
- 13:39really fun to listen to.
- 13:43She has a great personality.
- 13:44And when she makes the games,
- 13:49Hiller's videos are going
- 13:50to skyrocket because he's
- 13:52going to have the whole
- 13:53story from beginning to end.
- 13:55And that's going to be an amazing,
- 13:58amazing set of videos that go together.
- 14:01So that one, I give an A on that one.
- 14:05I really, really enjoyed that one.
- 14:07And you learn at the very
- 14:09end that it is just a part one,
- 14:11but part two is coming.
- 14:13And that will dive more into
- 14:15the last chance qualifier, it appears.
- 14:17And Tyson being her rabbit.
- 14:20So it'll be interesting to
- 14:21see what happens with that.
- 14:25So road to the games, I give an A minus.
- 14:28Hiller's video,
- 14:28I give an A. And Lito
- 14:31brings up a great point.
- 14:33Castro's little cameo was funny, too.
- 14:35It really was.
- 14:36They were FaceTiming with
- 14:37Castro and Erica saying she
- 14:41didn't like the programming
- 14:42and Castro saying that
- 14:44he'll talk to her once she
- 14:45becomes a games qualifier.
- 14:48So I thought that was funny.
- 14:50Very, very funny.
- 14:53The last video I'm going to talk about,
- 14:55I talked about last night,
- 14:57and that is the Lydia Fish
- 14:59documentary about the last
- 15:00chance qualifier.
- 15:03Um, gosh, it was so well done.
- 15:06So well done.
- 15:07Uh, they talk,
- 15:09what it shows is that like
- 15:11the directions changed from
- 15:13one point to another with
- 15:14the workouts on the sheets
- 15:17and parent had to reread them every time.
- 15:20And that was a very key piece to that.
- 15:24Um, and.
- 15:27other part is like this this
- 15:29girl has the dog in her the
- 15:31fact that she keeps she
- 15:33kept coming back doing that
- 15:34legless rope climb event
- 15:36and the last time was at
- 15:37nearly midnight uh to get
- 15:39that done and in uh and
- 15:42probably that is what got
- 15:43her into uh the crossfit games
- 15:47CTP did an amazing job producing it.
- 15:51The music is fire in that video.
- 15:54It's just banger after banger.
- 15:57Lydia is charming.
- 15:59She's funny.
- 16:02When they talk about Halo
- 16:03and how they relax with Halo,
- 16:06how she works as a server
- 16:07at a supper club,
- 16:09all of that is super fun.
- 16:11It's called Official.
- 16:17Check that one out.
- 16:18That's really good too.
- 16:20Probably give that one an A+.
- 16:22That goes up into the upper
- 16:24echelon of videos that
- 16:26we've had this year.
- 16:29They did a great job with that one.
- 16:31So super,
- 16:33super stoked when I got to see that one.
- 16:35It was a pleasant surprise.
- 16:39And I've known CTP for a long time,
- 16:42ever since I've been on the
- 16:43road with regionals.
- 16:44He is just a great, great dude.
- 16:46And I shouldn't be surprised
- 16:48that he would put together
- 16:49something like that.
- 16:54Just caught up with, Shay says,
- 16:56just caught up with last night's show.
- 16:58Was a great one.
- 16:58Really enjoyed Raph.
- 16:59Yeah, Raph's the best.
- 17:04And if you weren't with us last night,
- 17:06Raph actually did
- 17:07commentary for us for the
- 17:09twenty two CrossFit Games.
- 17:12And we put we brought him on.
- 17:13We bought Mitch McClure,
- 17:14who is Carrie Pierce's husband.
- 17:17We brought on Lex and
- 17:19Carolyn Prevo back then
- 17:21before Carolyn was a part of the show.
- 17:23And that really started the
- 17:24relationship we had with
- 17:26Carolyn and Lex and turned
- 17:28into her being a part of
- 17:29the show that twenty two season.
- 17:33So it's fun to bring Raph back,
- 17:34talk about teams last night,
- 17:36and that's actually a
- 17:37perfect segue into the next
- 17:39thing I wanted to talk about.
- 17:41Last night on the show,
- 17:42when we were talking about
- 17:43what could we change with
- 17:44teams to make it more
- 17:46relevant and more fan-friendly,
- 17:49and one of the things that
- 17:50we brought up was that,
- 17:52or that Raph brought up was...
- 17:55that have like a team
- 17:57sponsor that they can build
- 17:59a team and keep it going year over year.
- 18:02So like hypothetically fit
- 18:05at fit aid has a team, um,
- 18:09Yeti has a team.
- 18:12Frogrips has a team.
- 18:14And then you recruit the
- 18:15people to that team and you
- 18:17keep it and you grow and
- 18:19you either sign new
- 18:20athletes on or people leave
- 18:22and go individual,
- 18:22whatever that might be.
- 18:24But it's a way that like you
- 18:26can then get like loyalty
- 18:28to a team because that same
- 18:30team name will appear year over year.
- 18:33Now with that,
- 18:34you'd have to get rid of the
- 18:35affiliate cup and it would
- 18:36just be called like the
- 18:37team championship.
- 18:40It was an idea he had.
- 18:42And while I was laying in bed last night,
- 18:44I thought about, man,
- 18:46if the WFP took that, it could make their,
- 18:50their season even better
- 18:54because I've been watching
- 18:55this drive to survive about F one racing.
- 18:58And there are teams with
- 18:59multiple drivers throughout that.
- 19:01And they earn points just
- 19:02like the WFP to go for the
- 19:05championship at the end of the year.
- 19:08How about if the WFP had
- 19:10teams like Team Red Bull, Team Adidas,
- 19:15Team Rolex, Team FitAid,
- 19:20whatever it might be, right?
- 19:22And then you as WFP say that
- 19:26each team has four members.
- 19:31So that gives you ten teams.
- 19:34And each team has two men and two women.
- 19:37And as they compete throughout the season,
- 19:39they're earning their
- 19:40individual points to go for
- 19:42an individual championship.
- 19:44But then you take their
- 19:45points and you add them together.
- 19:49And.
- 19:52And then whatever the total points are,
- 19:55are the team points going
- 19:56into the next event.
- 19:58So not only are you getting
- 20:00an individual competition,
- 20:03but there's a team aspect
- 20:04to it that you're trying to
- 20:06put together points as a team.
- 20:10I think that would be add
- 20:12more excitement to the
- 20:13overall piece without adding another,
- 20:18another competition to the floor.
- 20:20Right.
- 20:23And maybe you can do it by camp,
- 20:26but the camps are so
- 20:27unevenly distributed with people.
- 20:30I don't know if that is possible.
- 20:33But maybe you say like, okay, TTT,
- 20:36you get to draft four
- 20:37people and underdogs,
- 20:39you get to draft four people and mayhem,
- 20:42you got to pick four people
- 20:43and so on and so forth.
- 20:46Proven you've got four people.
- 20:48And then maybe you get a
- 20:50major sponsor to take the team name.
- 20:53So you have like proven frog
- 20:57grips and they're a team
- 20:59with four people.
- 21:02And then the people who
- 21:03really mess it up are the
- 21:05challengers who aren't in
- 21:07that top-twenty pro card area on a team,
- 21:10and they're just messing up
- 21:11the points all over,
- 21:13not only for the individual race,
- 21:15but for the team race as well.
- 21:19And they're kind of the outlaws.
- 21:23And I think that would be a
- 21:24very cool concept in a way
- 21:27to get brand loyalty and
- 21:30or athlete loyalty or team
- 21:33loyalty to an aspect of
- 21:35your competition which
- 21:37would make it more fun to
- 21:38watch for spectators I
- 21:45don't I don't know if
- 21:46everybody is understanding
- 21:47what I'm saying because you
- 21:49have to like watch
- 21:52Formula One racing or
- 21:53something like that to kind
- 21:54of understand the point
- 21:56thing that I'm talking about.
- 21:57And I know that the points
- 21:58for individuals is already hard enough.
- 22:01Then you add this in it.
- 22:02It just makes things more complicated.
- 22:05But like Kenneth says, team pups and suds.
- 22:08There you go.
- 22:12Or mutts and cuts.
- 22:15Name that movie.
- 22:19Uh, so yeah,
- 22:20I thought that would be like a
- 22:21cool way if I'm WFP to gain
- 22:24more interest in my
- 22:26competition is to add a
- 22:28team element to it.
- 22:31where two men,
- 22:32two women is a team and they
- 22:35have a corporate
- 22:36sponsorship for that team
- 22:38and maybe they offset the
- 22:39cost to the events and WFP
- 22:42then saves that money for other things.
- 22:46Yes, Corey, you nailed it.
- 22:48Dumb and dumber, mutts and cuts.
- 22:55I don't know.
- 22:56I just think that that would be...
- 22:58that would make it more
- 22:59interesting on the backend
- 23:02rooting for the overall
- 23:03team as well as the individual athletes.
- 23:08Just a thought.
- 23:11One of those like half
- 23:11asleep thoughts that you
- 23:13get in the middle of the
- 23:14night and you don't know if
- 23:15it's a great idea or a terrible idea,
- 23:18but you're just going to
- 23:18throw it out there anyway.
- 23:21That's kind of what happened there.
- 23:25So
- 23:27It's Monday.
- 23:28We don't have a lot going on.
- 23:29Last thing is,
- 23:31yesterday I watched the
- 23:34movie The Accountant II.
- 23:36I was really excited about
- 23:37this movie coming out.
- 23:39I was a huge, huge,
- 23:41huge fan of The Accountant.
- 23:47If people have not seen it,
- 23:48it's a Ben Affleck movie
- 23:51where he plays an autistic accountant and
- 23:59And I love that movie.
- 24:01He's kind of an antihero
- 24:03where he is super smart
- 24:05when it comes to accounting.
- 24:06He can see like where criminals are,
- 24:10are utilizing the system to
- 24:13get ahead of things.
- 24:15And yeah,
- 24:18And what I will say is for
- 24:19The Accountant two,
- 24:22it veers off that a little
- 24:23bit because it brings his
- 24:26brother in who is played by
- 24:27John Barenthal,
- 24:29who is a great actor as well.
- 24:31And John Barenthal, I think,
- 24:32steals a little bit of this
- 24:34of this movie.
- 24:37I mean,
- 24:37it's almost more about him than it
- 24:39is about the Ben Affleck
- 24:40accountant character.
- 24:42And there's less of the
- 24:44diagnostic accounting and
- 24:46him going through all that
- 24:47stuff and more about them
- 24:49working together and
- 24:51building a relationship as brothers.
- 24:54Um,
- 24:55While it's very different
- 24:56than the first one,
- 24:57I did enjoy this movie.
- 25:00I enjoyed it a lot.
- 25:02And I would recommend it if
- 25:03you like the first one.
- 25:05But a lot of the reviews say
- 25:07that it did veer off too
- 25:08much for some of those people.
- 25:11um when I went back and
- 25:12looked at it after it
- 25:14because I saw it was a six
- 25:15point eight out of ten on
- 25:17internet movie database and
- 25:19then after I watched I went
- 25:21back to see why they said
- 25:22that and they do say it
- 25:24kind of veers away from the
- 25:25first one too much um with
- 25:27it going into the brother
- 25:28story more than the
- 25:30accounting and the
- 25:31accountant puzzle solving
- 25:33piece um but I did enjoy it
- 25:36I thought that it was very
- 25:38fast moving action-packed
- 25:41Um, sometimes funny,
- 25:44sometimes endearing movie, um,
- 25:47that kind of went in a
- 25:48different direction.
- 25:50So I would give the
- 25:51accountant to a four out of five stars.
- 25:57That's my opinion.
- 25:58Um, the first accountant,
- 26:00I would give a five out of five, this one,
- 26:03a four out of five.
- 26:07um lito I would love it if
- 26:09the team's comp was a
- 26:11little more like grid where
- 26:12you had a bit more choice
- 26:14on who does what and how
- 26:15much uh christian kettler
- 26:24you know scott is old when
- 26:25he calls imdb by its full
- 26:26name I was going to call it imdb but
- 26:30that was dumb.
- 26:30I was just going to say, I'm D I am DB.
- 26:32And I'm thought, well,
- 26:33maybe someone doesn't know what that is,
- 26:35but that's just dumb.
- 26:36And that's why I'm old.
- 26:38So you have pointed that out properly.
- 26:41Uh, back to Lito.
- 26:43So last night, um,
- 26:45we talked about it with
- 26:45Raph about the possibility
- 26:47of a six person team, um,
- 26:51for team series or whatever
- 26:53for the teams.
- 26:55And, um,
- 26:59And then you substitute in,
- 27:02you could only play four per event.
- 27:05And you had to have where
- 27:08everybody has to do at
- 27:09least X number of events.
- 27:12So you can't hide anybody
- 27:14and you do do substitution,
- 27:16but not like grid where
- 27:18you're changing midstream.
- 27:20If that makes sense.
- 27:23So still kind of keep it
- 27:24truer to the CrossFit piece
- 27:26where it's just the four on
- 27:27the floor are competing.
- 27:30not changing midstream but
- 27:34um but then you can
- 27:36substitute someone out for
- 27:38the next event or if
- 27:39someone gets hurt you have
- 27:41a backup and don't have to
- 27:43withdraw uh jay birch I
- 27:51actually didn't know what
- 27:52that that was an acronym
- 27:54thanks for the save man
- 28:00Um, Corey,
- 28:01did you already mention the
- 28:02mighty LSU tigers winning
- 28:03the natty yesterday?
- 28:05I didn't cause I was going
- 28:06to save that for Wednesday.
- 28:08Cause I knew you'd want to
- 28:09talk about that briefly.
- 28:12Um, but I did see that.
- 28:15Congratulations to the LSU
- 28:17tigers winning the college world series.
- 28:27Alito says, yes, that was a great idea.
- 28:31We've got a local event
- 28:32called Send Them In,
- 28:34which is exactly that.
- 28:35And there are events for two, three,
- 28:37or four people.
- 28:38Yeah.
- 28:39I think that Waterpalooza
- 28:43SoCal got it kind of right.
- 28:46that's more of like an
- 28:47all-star thing but like one
- 28:49event had three people one
- 28:51event had the whole team
- 28:52one event had maybe that's
- 28:54too confusing and you just
- 28:56have four per event um but
- 29:00but I don't know and leader
- 29:08says out of a team of six
- 29:09yeah yeah I think as long
- 29:14as you cap it at four
- 29:16I would not want any events
- 29:17with more than four people on the floor.
- 29:19It's already too crowded as
- 29:21it is with some of the events.
- 29:25I would rather have less
- 29:27than more on the floor.
- 29:31But I think you could take
- 29:32some stuff from SoCal and
- 29:35learn from it and maybe
- 29:36apply some of that to the
- 29:39team competition.
- 29:43For sure.
- 29:45I think what CrossFit's bad
- 29:47at is not looking outside
- 29:49their own walls for ideas to change.
- 29:54Rogue has done some innovative things.
- 29:56Wadapalooza has done some
- 29:57innovative things.
- 29:58They should look outside
- 29:59their walls at what's going
- 30:01on at other competitions
- 30:03and maybe pull some of that stuff in.
- 30:10But, but yeah.
- 30:16So the last thing I had on my list,
- 30:17and this just kind of
- 30:19popped up in the chat last night,
- 30:21and it happened as we were on the air,
- 30:23so I wasn't able to really look into it.
- 30:26But if you did not know, Maddie Rogers,
- 30:29the Olympic weightlifter,
- 30:32she's here on her story.
- 30:34You can go to Maddie Rogers
- 30:37Ollie and see this post.
- 30:41She had a TIA or a mini
- 30:44stroke in training on
- 30:46Friday and spent the
- 30:47weekend in the hospital
- 30:49getting tests and whatnot.
- 30:54While I'm still awaiting answers,
- 30:56luckily I don't really have
- 30:57any deficits lingering and
- 30:59I'm feeling mostly normal today.
- 31:01And then she goes into a
- 31:04piece on the American health system,
- 31:07which I've had my own issues with.
- 31:10But I hope that she is okay.
- 31:13She is an amazing Olympic lifter.
- 31:17And hopefully she's not down
- 31:20and out for too long.
- 31:22But man, mini stroke.
- 31:24My mom just had that stroke
- 31:25a couple months ago.
- 31:26They're scary.
- 31:28So glad that she's doing
- 31:29okay and up and around with
- 31:31no real deficiencies.
- 31:37So there is that.
- 31:39I also talked about my AFib
- 31:41issues on Friday's show,
- 31:43and I got a lot of direct
- 31:44messages on Instagram.
- 31:46And I want to thank
- 31:47everybody for sending me
- 31:50what research they know of
- 31:52and about the correlation between
- 31:59between COVID and AFib or
- 32:02the COVID vaccine and AFib,
- 32:05whatever that may be.
- 32:07I just thank everybody for
- 32:09what they've seen and other
- 32:10contributors that can play
- 32:12a part in AFib.
- 32:15So that is...
- 32:17That was very helpful,
- 32:19and I appreciate it so much.
- 32:20I didn't have time to send
- 32:21responses to everybody who
- 32:23sent me feedback,
- 32:25but I do want to thank
- 32:25everybody for reaching out on that.
- 32:35Corey, gee, glad she's okay.
- 32:37I just saw a video of her hang snatching.
- 32:40Two-fifty-seven, Maddie, not your mom,
- 32:42Scott.
- 32:43Have you seen my mom snatch?
- 32:46Just saying.
- 32:50Just kidding.
- 32:50My mom loves to deadlift,
- 32:53loves to deadlift,
- 32:54but her deadlift isn't even
- 32:55two fifty seven.
- 32:56So.
- 33:00At eighty years old,
- 33:01she's still triple digits on her deadlift,
- 33:03and I'm very proud of her for that.
- 33:10I'm sure USA Olympics is no help either.
- 33:13Have you been following the
- 33:14Lolo Jones story?
- 33:16I am I following it?
- 33:17No.
- 33:18Have I seen it?
- 33:19Yes.
- 33:20I know she said some things
- 33:21and got kicked out of, um,
- 33:26got kicked out of the
- 33:27Olympic training center.
- 33:28And now there are people
- 33:29saying that that was too
- 33:29harsh of a penalty,
- 33:31but I don't really know
- 33:32what she said exactly.
- 33:34Um,
- 33:35but I'll look into that Jay Burch just
- 33:36so I can be more educated on that.
- 33:39Um, I,
- 33:42I lost interest in Lolo
- 33:43Jones a couple of years ago,
- 33:46but when she started doing
- 33:48the reality TV circuit, I just,
- 33:55I don't know.
- 33:56She's she's weird,
- 33:59but aren't we all right.
- 34:05So, yeah, with that, tomorrow,
- 34:11hopefully we'll have some
- 34:11more CrossFit stuff to talk about.
- 34:14And I just finished watching
- 34:17Surviving Ohio State.
- 34:20And I do want to talk about that.
- 34:26But I just finished it.
- 34:29and I'm still taken aback at
- 34:34everything that I saw so as
- 34:38I sort that out over the
- 34:39next hours I do want to
- 34:42talk about that a little
- 34:42bit tomorrow it's a it's a
- 34:45new documentary on hbo max
- 34:48or max sorry christian
- 34:51just max now the hip young
- 34:53way to say it surviving
- 34:56Ohio State about a doctor
- 35:00who abused athletes at Ohio
- 35:02State and then it got worse
- 35:05it got worse than just
- 35:06abusing athletes hard to believe but
- 35:09yeah,
- 35:10I'll talk about that tomorrow a
- 35:11little bit.
- 35:12And maybe some of the other
- 35:13documentaries I've been
- 35:14watching this weekend since
- 35:16my wife was away,
- 35:17I got to watch those without,
- 35:19and anybody tell me that they're boring.
- 35:23Um, Jody never heard of Lolo Jones.
- 35:27So she is an Olympic,
- 35:29she was an Olympic hurdler.
- 35:30And then she tried to be an
- 35:31Olympic bobsledder.
- 35:33And then she tried to be a model.
- 35:35She tried to be a reality TV star.
- 35:38Um,
- 35:43But I don't think she was ever successful,
- 35:45truly successful at any of those things.
- 35:49Fell short at like every
- 35:50single one along the way.
- 35:59Lito, speaking of documentaries,
- 36:01I really enjoyed the one on
- 36:02the Titan submersible.
- 36:04I don't know if I could watch that.
- 36:08the one that imploded right
- 36:10like gosh that that's like
- 36:13my biggest fear being under
- 36:18dirt underwater under
- 36:19whatever and not being able
- 36:20to breathe like the thought
- 36:26of being buried alive just
- 36:27makes me want to vomit and
- 36:29then to be that far down
- 36:31into the ocean and
- 36:34everything just implode at
- 36:36least to be done quick I guess but
- 36:39Yeah,
- 36:39I don't know if I can watch that one.
- 36:48Jody Lynn saw that and liked it as well.
- 36:55It wasn't so much on the disaster itself,
- 36:57Scott,
- 36:58just kind of the culture and the
- 36:59company that led to it.
- 37:00Very interesting.
- 37:03All right, maybe I'll take a look at it.
- 37:10Watching all the things that
- 37:11went wrong with the
- 37:12submersible would be hard to watch,
- 37:13says Meredith.
- 37:16Corey,
- 37:17your biggest fear is being in a
- 37:20carbon fiber submersible that implodes?
- 37:22That's so specific.
- 37:24No, it's more about the claustrophobic,
- 37:27not being able to have air thing.
- 37:30That's more my biggest fear.
- 37:34I just pushed all that on to
- 37:37being in a submersible.
- 37:55That's more it, not that specific thing,
- 37:57but more claustrophobic, no air,
- 38:01no breathing.
- 38:09If it makes me feel any better,
- 38:11when it imploded, they all died instantly,
- 38:13more or less vaporized.
- 38:16Yeah,
- 38:16I think I would have the fear before
- 38:18the implosion.
- 38:19Just being in the
- 38:20submersible that far down,
- 38:24I would have a hard time.
- 38:31So, I'm not really claustrophobic,
- 38:36but I am.
- 38:40Yeah,
- 38:40I'm really making a lot of sense today.
- 38:47Meredith,
- 38:48there's no way you'd catch her
- 38:49going that deep in the ocean,
- 38:51and she's not even claustrophobic.
- 38:58Also, they're literally bolted in.
- 39:00It cannot be opened from the inside.
- 39:02Yeah, that's the ringer right there.
- 39:07Lock me into something where
- 39:08I can't get out.
- 39:13Have any of you went up in the St.
- 39:16Louis Arch?
- 39:21That about killed me.
- 39:25You get into a little egg
- 39:26shaped thing that is kind
- 39:29of like a weird Ferris
- 39:32wheel inside the arch that
- 39:34kind of clicks its way up.
- 39:36It is awful.
- 39:42And you are locked in there
- 39:43till you get to the top.
- 39:44And then you got to hop back
- 39:45in to get the way on the way down.
- 39:47I can't believe I did it once.
- 39:53Never do that again.
- 39:59So I got to say I was in it one time,
- 40:01and that will be the only
- 40:02time this guy is ever in the St.
- 40:04Louis Arch.
- 40:09I used to be a daredevil as a kid, but,
- 40:10man,
- 40:11I've lost all of that now that I'm older.
- 40:16I've bungee jumped when I was younger,
- 40:19done those kinds of things.
- 40:20Now I just don't want to do
- 40:21any of that stuff.
- 40:27Lido, the St.
- 40:28Louis arch.
- 40:28It's in St.
- 40:29Louis, Missouri in the United States.
- 40:32It's the gateway arch.
- 40:33It's a big silver arch in
- 40:36the middle of St.
- 40:37Louis.
- 40:38And it is considered the
- 40:39gateway to the West.
- 40:41If you're going East to West
- 40:43and it's right on the Mississippi river.
- 40:45So when you're up there,
- 40:47you're overlooking the
- 40:47Mississippi river in St.
- 40:50Louis, Missouri.
- 40:56So,
- 41:00Jay Burch, bungee jump, hell no.
- 41:01I did it a long time ago.
- 41:02It was really fun.
- 41:06But I would not do it now at fifty five.
- 41:09Those days are past me for sure.
- 41:14All right, guys.
- 41:15Well, thanks for being here.
- 41:17Tomorrow we'll do Surviving
- 41:19Ohio State and hopefully
- 41:21some more CrossFit news
- 41:22breaks or something
- 41:26releases that we can talk
- 41:27about or I'll try to come
- 41:28up with a topic we can talk about.
- 41:31Maybe we'll do a top five Tuesday.
- 41:33Who knows?
- 41:34It's all up in the air right now.
- 41:37I'll come up with something tomorrow.
- 41:39With that, guys,
- 41:40I got to get back to work.
- 41:41It's time for you
- 41:42knuckleheads to get back to work.
- 41:44We'll see everybody tomorrow
- 41:45on Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 41:47Bye, guys.
