Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Jose Ramirez has woken up and is being the dude
- 0:04Speaker 1: that we've seen for a long time.
- 0:06Speaker 2: So this is a guy that posts up every single day.
- 0:09Speaker 2: So to see him come alive, man, especially how long
- 0:13Speaker 2: he stayed there. He took the team-friendly deal because he
- 0:17Speaker 2: believed in the Guardians. He believed in that organization and
- 0:19Speaker 2: wanted to stay there.
- 0:20Speaker 3: And loves it there.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And he hit the big home run there in the
- 0:23Speaker 2: fifth inning to put them up 3-1. Welcome back to
- 0:27Speaker 2: another episode of Ross and Rizzo on We are here
- 0:30Speaker 2: talking about game four of the ALDS. Guardians versus the
- 0:36Speaker 2: White Sox. Guardians beating the White Sox 9-5 to force
- 0:41Speaker 2: a game five in Cleveland. Rossi, I was there for
- 0:44Speaker 2: game three. The stadium was loud. The White Sox were
- 0:48Speaker 2: able to silence them. And then in game four, primetime
- 0:52Speaker 2: night game blackout there on the south side. And the
- 0:56Speaker 2: Guardians come in there again and take two. from the
- 1:00Speaker 2: White Sox on their home field. Got to be a
- 1:03Speaker 2: gut-wrenching feeling. I feel like those White Sox fans are starved.
- 1:07Speaker 2: They haven't clinched a home series, playoff series, on the
- 1:12Speaker 2: south side since 1906, Rossi.
- 1:14Speaker 1: That's been a minute. That's when I was a rookie.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm going to beat you to the punch. I'm going
- 1:19Speaker 1: to beat you to the punch. That place was electric, man.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It feels like this is just a– this series is
- 1:27Speaker 1: kind of following suit for what they did during the
- 1:29Speaker 1: regular season, the back and forth, uh, the place was
- 1:33Speaker 1: electric jumping off to, uh, the socks jumping out to
- 1:35Speaker 1: a two Oh lead.
- 1:37Speaker 3: But yeah, man, the back and forth.
- 1:39Speaker 1: That happened this year, we saw some of those games
- 1:42Speaker 1: at the end of the season where, you know, we
- 1:44Speaker 1: had the walk off in Cleveland, um, you know, feels
- 1:48Speaker 1: like these guys, nobody ever goes away. And it's always
- 1:50Speaker 1: these bullpen matchups and these arms and who's, um, who's
- 1:55Speaker 1: crisper coming out of the pen, whose guys are kind
- 1:57Speaker 1: of fresher and look like some guys are running out
- 2:00Speaker 1: of juice out of those bullpens.
- 2:03Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 2:03Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 2:04Speaker 2: At least they have the off day, uh, tomorrow and
- 2:07Speaker 2: then going into game five, everyone should be available. But
- 2:11Speaker 2: the guardians, man, you got to give so much credit
- 2:14Speaker 2: to the guardians and Steven vote for keeping his team
- 2:17Speaker 2: in it and believing right.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Believe land.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I believe that's always their motto. Um, but bro, they,
- 2:24Speaker 2: they just, They could have folded so many times, and
- 2:29Speaker 2: that whole crew, I feel like, has so much late
- 2:33Speaker 2: season and September experience and postseason experience. I know they
- 2:36Speaker 2: haven't gone too far, but these guys have played in
- 2:39Speaker 2: big games, and they have not shown any quit.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Bro, Jose Ramirez has woken up and is being the
- 2:48Speaker 1: dude that we've seen for a long time.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Well, he dealt with the hammy, right? Did a hand-made issue?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Some hand issue. I don't remember exactly.
- 2:59Speaker 2: He posts pretty much every single year. I mean, we're
- 3:03Speaker 2: talking about a guy who plays a lot of baseball games, Ross.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I have his baseball reference page up. Other than this year, 20-25,
- 3:11Speaker 2: 158 games.
- 3:11Speaker 1: 24, 158.
- 3:11Speaker 3: 23, 156.
- 3:11Speaker 1: 22, 157.
- 3:11Speaker 2: 21, 152. So this is a guy that posts up
- 3:12Speaker 2: every single day. So to see him come alive, man,
- 3:27Speaker 2: especially how long he stayed there. He took the team-friendly
- 3:30Speaker 2: deal because he believed in the Guardians. He believed in
- 3:33Speaker 2: that organization and wanted to stay there and loves it there.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And he hit the big home run there in the
- 3:38Speaker 2: fifth inning to put them up 3-1.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I feel.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Like the fifth and sixth inning was the entire ballgame there.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You're exactly right.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Like, would the White Sox answer back after 2-0 and
- 3:52Speaker 1: then he hits that big, two run Homer to take
- 3:55Speaker 1: it three, two. And you're like, okay, kind of silence
- 3:58Speaker 1: the crowd. And then they answer back with two of
- 4:00Speaker 1: their own, you know, just grinding it out.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Hit by pitch.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And it's not, she just on cue. Uh, it feels
- 4:08Speaker 1: like you, I mean, what would you have in your career?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I think he has like 30 something this year. What's
- 4:14Speaker 1: your highest in the season?
- 4:16Speaker 2: And 32. I, I, fun fact, not about me, but
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm only the second me. And, um, man i'm blanking
- 4:26Speaker 2: white saw he's on the indians it'll come to me
- 4:32Speaker 2: only 30 30 players in major league history 30 homers
- 4:35Speaker 2: 30 hit by 30 there's only there's only two.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Of us nice only two nice rare air but they
- 4:41Speaker 1: they you know that's kind of the the like i
- 4:43Speaker 1: said like these two teams just it feels like just
- 4:46Speaker 1: that boxing match just going back and forth you know
- 4:49Speaker 1: what it kind of And maybe it's because Cleveland and
- 4:52Speaker 1: I just relate everything to our time.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Don Baylor. Don Baylor. Shout out Chris Tran. Another way
- 4:59Speaker 3: to give us that name.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But it felt like, and this was kind of like
- 5:04Speaker 1: when I was thinking about who I'm going to pick
- 5:06Speaker 1: for the game, it's our game, our series with Cleveland
- 5:12Speaker 1: kind of was like, we didn't get going to a
- 5:15Speaker 1: little bit later offensively in the world series. And like,
- 5:18Speaker 1: if you look at our last five games, it feels
- 5:20Speaker 1: a lot like, you know, we send it back to Cleveland,
- 5:23Speaker 1: you know, win game five. And then we bust out
- 5:27Speaker 1: in game six offensively. That's what it felt like Cleveland
- 5:31Speaker 1: did yesterday on the road. So going back home a
- 5:34Speaker 1: little bit momentum, the offensive rolling, they got Gavin Williams
- 5:38Speaker 1: who came out of the pen last night to close
- 5:40Speaker 1: it out, starting game five and a winner take all, Um,
- 5:45Speaker 1: it just felt a little bit about like that back
- 5:46Speaker 1: and forth that we had and the momentum just feels
- 5:49Speaker 1: like it's all guardians right now for me.
- 5:51Speaker 2: No doubt. It has to be right. It's a, a
- 5:54Speaker 2: young white Sox team that I feel like was so emotional,
- 5:58Speaker 2: wanted to win so bad for that home crowd and
- 6:01Speaker 2: celebrate here in Chicago and go face the Rays.
- 6:04Speaker 3: But that wasn't in the story. You know what I mean?
- 6:07Speaker 2: It, and it was a good baseball game. It's, this
- 6:10Speaker 2: has been good baseball, right? Got teams, and what I
- 6:14Speaker 2: mean by that is the guys have responded when they've
- 6:17Speaker 2: gotten punched. Both teams are throwing punches.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 6:22Speaker 2: And the fact that the Guardians go up 3-1 in
- 6:26Speaker 2: the fifth and then the White Sox respond, for me,
- 6:30Speaker 2: the last two games at home for the White Sox,
- 6:33Speaker 2: they just haven't got that big hit. You know, they've
- 6:36Speaker 2: grinded out runs, but they didn't get the big dagger hit.
- 6:40Speaker 2: They've had so many opportunities. Bases loaded, guys on second
- 6:44Speaker 2: and third, and they, you know, sack fly or they
- 6:47Speaker 2: only get one run in at a time where, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 2: Joe Adele gets the.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Bases and triple. That's what I was going to say, yep.
- 6:54Speaker 2: It's like that one hit changes the entire– wins the
- 6:59Speaker 2: series for the White Sox. But they just haven't gotten it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: But they've been fighting. They've been clawing. They've been grinding.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Their pitchers are probably a little bit on empty, the
- 7:08Speaker 2: back-to-back games. But they have an off day. They'll be
- 7:11Speaker 2: able to reset, and adrenaline will take over for game five.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So that's going to be fun. Saturday night in Cleveland, primetime.
- 7:19Speaker 2: They're the only game on. It's going to be fun
- 7:23Speaker 2: baseball to watch.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I tell you who's loving this, Kevin Cash and the
- 7:27Speaker 3: Tampa Bay Rays. Like, go ahead. Play five.
- 7:29Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Spend them all.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Like, you hit it on the head, man. it's been
- 7:35Speaker 1: a real cool back and forth. That's what you love
- 7:37Speaker 1: about baseball, the comebacks, the never quit. And, you know,
- 7:42Speaker 1: we saw, you know, so you could tell how bad,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and I know the season's over, but like Steven Vogt
- 7:49Speaker 1: was taking nothing for granted yesterday, like bringing in Kate
- 7:52Speaker 1: Smith in the eighth and extended him. I mean, he
- 7:55Speaker 1: threw a lot of pitch, looked like he started to
- 7:57Speaker 1: run out of gas a little bit and then bring
- 7:59Speaker 1: it in Patrick, you know, I'm sorry, Gavin.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Williams, to, to close it out.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Like these guys are, are taking no chances and it's
- 8:09Speaker 1: that time of year already. You know, it feels like
- 8:12Speaker 1: in the past we get some of that in the
- 8:14Speaker 1: game sevens of the world series or the game six isn't,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but right now it's like, no, no, no. The, the
- 8:19Speaker 1: DS game five, whatever it takes to move on. These
- 8:22Speaker 1: guys are, are, are scratching and clawing.
- 8:25Speaker 3: And I'm with you. Like, we feel like the socks
- 8:28Speaker 3: get some sack flies.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Here and there with the bases loaded or the hit
- 8:31Speaker 1: by pitch stuff where, but they don't get the break
- 8:34Speaker 1: open blow, the bases clear and double, you know, that
- 8:38Speaker 1: the Cleveland have gotten.
- 8:39Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 8:40Speaker 3: That's a good point.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of line drives at people a lot.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Both ends.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 2: You know, both ends where ball off the bat, you're like, oh, man, right?
- 8:49Speaker 3: I do what scares me. Grant Taylor did not look good.
- 8:53Speaker 3: That's all right. It's one game. It's one game. I know.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I just like. It's a lot of emotion. Like Fetty
- 8:59Speaker 3: throwing that ball up into the stands.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Did you see that? It's a lot of emotions for
- 9:05Speaker 1: the young guys. That's what happens on young teams. I know,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and you've got to– that shit takes a toll over
- 9:12Speaker 1: the long– you run out of juice.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Like expending that, screaming. You know, I know it's part
- 9:19Speaker 3: of it, but.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Hey, the only way you know you run out of juice, Rossi,
- 9:23Speaker 2: is by going through it. All right, and they're going
- 9:26Speaker 2: through it. They're going to learn.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Part of the journey. I just was telling Landry. It's
- 9:30Speaker 3: all part of the journey.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Landry had them up here in Nashville, and Landry had
- 9:33Speaker 1: a volleyball game, and we had lunch yesterday, and I
- 9:37Speaker 1: was just talking about kind of the ups and downs
- 9:39Speaker 1: of like a season. I was like, just part of
- 9:41Speaker 1: the journey. It makes the story better at the end.
- 9:43Speaker 1: A little adversity never hurt anybody.
- 9:45Speaker 3: In, what was it, 24?
- 9:47Speaker 2: When we were playing the Royals in the first round, Hector,
- 9:52Speaker 2: or Carlos Rodon, comes out in the first inning I
- 9:56Speaker 2: don't know if you remember this game I remember that
- 9:58Speaker 2: blowing absolutely smoke. I'm not kidding, Rossi. In my entire career,
- 10:04Speaker 2: it was the most electric first inning I've ever experienced
- 10:07Speaker 2: in my entire life. He walked off the mound in
- 10:11Speaker 2: a different state of mind. I'm not kidding. I have goosebumps.
- 10:14Speaker 2: My hair's thinking about it. And he freaking blew his, like,
- 10:18Speaker 2: come to third and fourth, his adrenaline was down and, uh,
- 10:22Speaker 2: but he learned from that.
- 10:24Speaker 3: He learned from that.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And, but it was like these, this is what the
- 10:28Speaker 2: playoffs all about. It's about being emotional, controlling your emotions,
- 10:33Speaker 2: trying to control your emotions while being emotional. I mean,
- 10:35Speaker 2: I said it to you in like the glass case
- 10:37Speaker 2: of emotion stuff, right? Like half joking around half serious, like, dude,
- 10:41Speaker 2: this shit is crazy.
- 10:43Speaker 3: It's a ride. It's a ride. I miss it.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I tell you what, like there's times I don't, miss
- 10:48Speaker 1: playing baseball like it's hard and your body and and
- 10:51Speaker 1: the grind you know we talk about the dog days
- 10:53Speaker 1: of august and you hate everybody but right now i'm
- 10:57Speaker 1: like i would give my left nut to be in
- 10:59Speaker 1: a duck out it is it is uh it's a
- 11:05Speaker 1: fun time of year that back and forth that emotion
- 11:07Speaker 1: like that those nerves and energy and getting out there
- 11:10Speaker 1: and competing in that environment with everybody rocking and getting
- 11:13Speaker 1: a big.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Hit it's what you it's what you train for in
- 11:16Speaker 2: the offseason It's what the dog days are all about.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It's what the struggle is all about. It's about these moments.
- 11:22Speaker 2: I mean, game five is going to be great. There's
- 11:25Speaker 2: no secrets. There's no hidden scouting reports. Every guy knows
- 11:28Speaker 2: what each pitcher is going to try to do to them.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Pitchers know what hitters are looking for. So that's why
- 11:33Speaker 2: these series, the game five is going to be a
- 11:36Speaker 2: coin flip. I just think that the Guardians have too
- 11:42Speaker 2: much experience going back home to not finish this out.
- 11:47Speaker 2: But then again, I want to say the White Sox
- 11:51Speaker 2: getting out of guaranteed rate or rate field, getting out
- 11:55Speaker 2: of Chicago and going back on the road and being
- 11:58Speaker 2: those road underdogs again, they could feed off of that.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I just want a good baseball game. What do you got, Rossi?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Give me your prediction here. Okay, I'll do my polymarket pick,
- 12:08Speaker 1: but I want to explain it first.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I think... I'm with you.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Like, I love the Gavin Williams starter. I think this
- 12:16Speaker 1: is where the starter is going to pay off to
- 12:17Speaker 1: go to the bullpen rather than the White Sox. Kind
- 12:21Speaker 1: of their journey has been kind of mixing and matching.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And at the end of this, they've seen everybody Cleveland has.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And that place is going to be rocking. And, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: the momentum I talked about earlier, I think I just
- 12:33Speaker 1: give the edge to the Guardians. But if you're a
- 12:38Speaker 1: polymarket kind of guy, The Guardians are 57% to the yes.
- 12:42Speaker 1: That's maybe the highest number we've had to close out
- 12:45Speaker 1: the series. $ 100 gets you $ 170. White Sox are 44%
- 12:49Speaker 1: to the yes. And $ 100 trade gets you $ 216 back.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And I know I talk about winning money, but I'm
- 12:56Speaker 1: going with the Guardians. I feel like they've got all
- 12:58Speaker 1: of them. Jose Ramirez is locked in. That's the player
- 13:02Speaker 1: to watch.
- 13:03Speaker 2: For game five. If the White Sox can keep Jose
- 13:06Speaker 2: Ramirez down, he's hot. He's a superstar. We didn't even
- 13:12Speaker 2: talk about Gavin Williams coming in in the ninth, and
- 13:15Speaker 2: I just want to hit on that. Coming in on
- 13:17Speaker 2: his bullpen day, which would be his side session day,
- 13:21Speaker 2: throwing close to 20 pitches, high leverage, right? He was
- 13:26Speaker 2: warming up for a while. That'll be something to watch
- 13:29Speaker 2: in game five, but I don't think it's going to
- 13:31Speaker 2: be an issue at all because there's going to be
- 13:34Speaker 2: such a short leash on him in that, right?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Any.
- 13:39Speaker 2: trouble, you know Stephen Vogt will have guys ready to go.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Everyone is available for Game 5.
- 13:44Speaker 3: So, going to be a great one.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Tune in on Saturday night in Cleveland. Cleveland's going to
- 13:50Speaker 2: be rocking. Good for the Guardians fans. I have to say,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I'm rooting for the Guardians. I just have such a
- 13:55Speaker 2: soft spot for Cleveland, right? I want to see them
- 13:59Speaker 2: have success.
- 14:01Speaker 3: It's fun to be in the media and just flip-flop
- 14:02Speaker 3: back and forth on it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Dude, literally, I think I've gone from rooting for this team,
- 14:06Speaker 2: that team, Dodgers, Yankees, that's like.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I'm rooting for him because that was my pick to
- 14:10Speaker 1: start this whole thing off. So now they've got to
- 14:14Speaker 1: close it out for me. I'll be four for four
- 14:16Speaker 1: in the championship series if the Guardians get there.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Let's go, Cards.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You've been in the media before. You've managed.
- 14:24Speaker 3: You have experience. I'm a rookie.
- 14:25Speaker 2: My emotions right now are getting me.
- 14:28Speaker 1: There's something about the warm summer air and a cold
- 14:30Speaker 1: corona with Lyme that makes the roar of the crowd
- 14:33Speaker 1: sound a lot like the roar of the waves.
- 14:35Speaker 2: That's because this is our playa. And the best seats
- 14:38Speaker 2: are always wherever you're sitting.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Whether it's a weeknight game under the lights or a
- 14:41Speaker 1: Sunday afternoon in the sun, you know baseball isn't about
- 14:45Speaker 1: rushing around. It's about settling in, letting the game come
- 14:48Speaker 1: to you. And nothing pairs better than an ice-cold Corona.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 14:53Speaker 2: So find your seat, your Corona, and your line. Because
- 14:58Speaker 2: real fans know the only thing better than nine innings
- 15:01Speaker 2: is extra innings. Especially on La Playa.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Corona.
- 15:06Speaker 2: La Playa awaits.

- 15:20Speaker 3: What's up, guys?
- 15:21Speaker 1: I need to tell you about this new prediction market
- 15:22Speaker 1: called Polymarket. It's the best new way to trade in sports.
- 15:26Speaker 1: In the past, if you wanted action on the game,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you put some money in, and if your team was
- 15:31Speaker 1: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
- 15:33Speaker 1: the trade and take a huge fee. But Polymarket is
- 15:36Speaker 1: a prediction market. It's a stock exchange for sports, buying
- 15:40Speaker 1: in and selling out on your terms. I've tried them all,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and Polymarket is simply the best prediction market. Better than DraftKings, FanDuel, Kalshi,
- 15:48Speaker 1: you name it. They're so confident you'll never go back
- 15:51Speaker 1: to the other guys. They're giving you a free $ 25
- 15:53Speaker 1: on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10. And
- 15:55Speaker 1: now they've launched a new feature, Squads, a group chat
- 15:59Speaker 1: where you can see what everyone is trading. So download
- 16:02Speaker 1: the Polymarket app today and use the code ROSSRIZZO when
- 16:05Speaker 1: you sign up. That's code ROSSRIZZO and get $ 25 free
- 16:10Speaker 1: after you deposit just $ 10.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Let's get to our Tim Buss ball bag questions of
- 16:15Speaker 2: the day, our daily mailbag where me and Rossi take
- 16:19Speaker 2: all of our questions, all of our fans' questions, hottest
- 16:23Speaker 2: topics around Major League Baseball. You can comment on YouTube,

- 16:35Speaker 2: First email is from Garnett Shear. I've been re-watching some
- 16:40Speaker 2: of the 2016 playoffs on YouTube, and while Minori Kawasaki
- 16:49Speaker 2: was ineligible for postseason play, he still traveled with the
- 16:52Speaker 2: team and got a ring. I was wondering about the
- 16:54Speaker 2: role that the players that can't play but travel with
- 16:58Speaker 2: the team have during that time of the season.
- 17:02Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Great question, and Kawa, as we called him, was one
- 17:10Speaker 1: of those guys, a great player, but not on the roster.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You loved having him around. He made an imprint when
- 17:16Speaker 1: he came into spring training. He karaoke-ed. Everybody loved having
- 17:21Speaker 1: him around. He had the funniest sayings. He was just
- 17:24Speaker 1: a good vibe at that point, waiting there for his
- 17:28Speaker 1: time in case somebody got hurt and you need defensive-type players,
- 17:32Speaker 1: but solid player. Um, was really fun to be around,
- 17:36Speaker 1: helped us out all year, uh, when he was up and, um,
- 17:41Speaker 1: you know, when I, you say you're rewatching game seven
- 17:45Speaker 1: in 2016 and watching some of those tapes. Um, the
- 17:49Speaker 1: fun part, I do that every year, right before spring
- 17:52Speaker 1: training starts, I'll watch the 2016 and 2013 games.
- 17:56Speaker 3: World Series movies. Turn the page. And it is, bro.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I laugh.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I cry, bro. It's good for the soul. It is
- 18:03Speaker 1: just like takes me back. Like I was amazing. Look
- 18:07Speaker 1: how great our team was. Just a little, just a
- 18:10Speaker 1: little dig me session for my career. But I'm serious, bro.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You should try it. It's therapeutic. I cry every year.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I cry every year. It's like the happiest thing. And
- 18:20Speaker 1: you realize what you realize is like going through that,
- 18:23Speaker 1: the back and forth that happens and what it takes
- 18:25Speaker 1: to win. a championship and it's like, I'm exhausted when
- 18:29Speaker 1: I'm done watching it.
- 18:30Speaker 3: It was like, it's so healthy.
- 18:32Speaker 1: It's a reminder about the things you said and the
- 18:35Speaker 1: things that guys did and like how you just got
- 18:38Speaker 1: to keep pushing forward, bro.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It's, it's healthy, but good question.
- 18:41Speaker 2: That was, that was an all time rant from one
- 18:44Speaker 2: guy traveling with a team to you watching spring training.
- 18:48Speaker 3: It's not about me.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I mean, I don't want to make it about me,
- 18:49Speaker 2: but it's about me. I think it's a huge role.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I think that, The guys on the bench mean everything
- 18:58Speaker 2: to a baseball team on a daily basis, especially throughout
- 19:02Speaker 2: the season. That support on the bench throughout the grind
- 19:07Speaker 2: of 162 means everything. And in the playoffs, too, it's
- 19:10Speaker 2: such a tense environment. You need guys on the bench
- 19:14Speaker 2: to be there, to be kind of that safety blanket of,
- 19:17Speaker 2: all right, we got this, we're good, bring the good vibes,
- 19:20Speaker 2: bring the loose vibes. Cowell was that for us.
- 19:23Speaker 3: For sure.
- 19:24Speaker 2: We've, I think pretty, I correct me if I'm wrong,
- 19:27Speaker 2: but we like made sure Kyle was with us because
- 19:31Speaker 2: a lot of times they don't let guys travel and
- 19:33Speaker 2: you see it with the white socks with Mike Vassell.
- 19:36Speaker 2: He's he had Tommy John surgery. He was such a
- 19:39Speaker 2: vibe for them in that clubhouse on the field that
- 19:42Speaker 2: they ended up taking him on the road. You never
- 19:45Speaker 2: bring guys who have Tommy John surgery on the road
- 19:48Speaker 2: with you during the regular season. but that's how much
- 19:50Speaker 2: he meant to that clubhouse culture there for the white socks.
- 19:53Speaker 2: So it means everything. So great question. Great question.
- 19:57Speaker 1: All right. YouTube comment from Ryan winter five, five 41.
- 20:02Speaker 1: What is your opinion or takeaways on the near future
- 20:05Speaker 1: expansion teams? And explain how that would look. Love the
- 20:09Speaker 1: pod and go Cubs.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Nice, Ryan.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Nice.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I think that– I think it's inevitable we're going to
- 20:16Speaker 2: add two more teams and you'll have 32 teams and
- 20:19Speaker 2: then you break that down. I think what you're going
- 20:21Speaker 2: to see because of the playoffs is you're going to
- 20:24Speaker 2: see an east and west and you're just going to
- 20:27Speaker 2: have seeds. Now, if they go east and west and
- 20:31Speaker 2: they do divisions– Within the East and the West, they
- 20:34Speaker 2: have to make it to where if you win your division,
- 20:36Speaker 2: you get rewarded. I'm not sure how that's going to work,
- 20:39Speaker 2: but it just seems inevitable that we expand to more
- 20:44Speaker 2: teams where that is to be determined. I know there's
- 20:48Speaker 2: a lot of talks about Nashville.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Maybe Utah. I'm sitting in Nashville right now, baby. I'm like,
- 20:53Speaker 3: let's go.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Music City needs a team. Come up here, every team
- 20:57Speaker 1: going out on Broadway. Leasing Broadway girls alone.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But I think that's how you expand it. And I
- 21:04Speaker 2: think eventually you just have an East and a West
- 21:07Speaker 2: and you start receding in the playoffs. So the best
- 21:10Speaker 2: team plays the worst team and then you keep receding
- 21:12Speaker 2: throughout the playoffs.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yep.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yep. I don't know what team's going to get, there's
- 21:17Speaker 1: like all the teams are in the mix, Portland, Utah,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think Charlotte, Nashville, all these different, different things. But
- 21:24Speaker 1: I think, you know, the reseeding stuff would real really
- 21:28Speaker 1: help or kind of realignment of, of the divisions. And
- 21:31Speaker 1: it will help a lot of the travel and some
- 21:33Speaker 1: of the, the, the grind of, of maybe the one
- 21:36Speaker 1: 62 or we'll see, but a great question.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Great question, Ryan. I think that, I think that'll be
- 21:42Speaker 3: really healthy.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And I think Manfred is, I think that's going to
- 21:45Speaker 1: be his last little legacy is, is adding those last
- 21:48Speaker 1: two teams and whatever goes down this, this year.
- 21:52Speaker 2: That means they'll need two more managers, Rossi.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Just saying. Hey, I'm a content creator now. Are you
- 21:59Speaker 3: trying to kick me out? You like working with me?
- 22:00Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 22:03Speaker 2: Last email is from Bill. The question is for me. Rizzo,
- 22:07Speaker 2: how hard was it to step away from playing and
- 22:09Speaker 2: what made you want to step into media so fast?
- 22:12Speaker 2: Do you still miss playing or are you happy with
- 22:15Speaker 2: the transition? I kind of knew going into 24 that
- 22:22Speaker 2: especially after I got hurt and broke my arm that
- 22:25Speaker 2: I remember telling Emily, I was like, hey, let's enjoy
- 22:27Speaker 2: these last two months. Not really sure where it's going
- 22:32Speaker 2: to go after this. And I told my family in
- 22:34Speaker 2: the playoffs, hey, you know, I told them the same thing. Like,
- 22:37Speaker 2: enjoy this ride. I'm not telling you I'm retiring after
- 22:40Speaker 2: this season, but it's a possibility, right? So then the
- 22:45Speaker 2: way the offseason unfolded and the teams that were interested
- 22:49Speaker 2: just didn't really suit. My wife was pregnant. I had
- 22:52Speaker 2: some interest from San Diego and some other teams and
- 22:55Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, for what it takes
- 23:00Speaker 2: to be an elite player, I just felt like I
- 23:03Speaker 2: just couldn't give that anymore. And we were having our
- 23:06Speaker 2: first child, which has been the best thing ever. And
- 23:10Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, I just went to
- 23:11Speaker 2: the World Series with the New York Yankees.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Like, I'm good.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Like, I'm happy. The grind is so hard. Do I
- 23:20Speaker 2: miss playing? I miss playing for the first time this
- 23:24Speaker 2: opening day.
- 23:25Speaker 3: For about.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Four pitches. And then you see.
- 23:30Speaker 2: And then you see guys just throwing a hundred. And
- 23:33Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I don't miss that.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And then I really miss... What do you miss the most?
- 23:38Speaker 2: What do I miss the most of plane rides?
- 23:40Speaker 3: Just the.
- 23:41Speaker 2: The struggle.
- 23:42Speaker 3: The camaraderie. Like the.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I miss the guys... Like hanging out in the clubhouse.
- 23:47Speaker 1: And like.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Just talking baseball. And having fun. And joking around. Those
- 23:52Speaker 2: are the things you miss.
- 23:53Speaker 3: And then.
- 23:55Speaker 2: The struggle. I love the struggle. As much as I
- 24:00Speaker 2: embraced it and wore it on my sleeve, it's what
- 24:03Speaker 2: fuels you. I remember so many times at my locker
- 24:05Speaker 2: just sitting there laughing. And guys were like, why are
- 24:08Speaker 2: you laughing?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Why are you smiling?
- 24:10Speaker 2: You fucking suck right now. I'm like, because this is
- 24:14Speaker 2: what makes it so much better. This is what makes
- 24:16Speaker 2: the sunny days so much better.
- 24:18Speaker 1: If you love the struggle, you would have loved to
- 24:21Speaker 1: have my career.
- 24:22Speaker 3: That's all I'll say.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 2: But, no, I don't miss it. I do not miss
- 24:26Speaker 2: it at all. I love getting to hang with my
- 24:31Speaker 2: pal all the time, my best pal, Rossi. And the
- 24:35Speaker 2: broadcast itself has been a lot of fun.
- 24:36Speaker 3: So, good question.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Thanks for getting me in my feels. Thanks, everyone, for listening. Again,
- 24:42Speaker 2: Ross and Rizzo on Filtered, Game 5 of the ALDS.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We will be with you right afterwards. And then we
- 24:49Speaker 2: are on to the Championship Series.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Rossi.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Six teams left. After Saturday, there will be four remaining.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Cannot wait.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Rizzo, Ross, out. Peace.
