- 0:00Speaker 1: If you're listening to the Mark Simone Show, Hey, let's
- 0:06Speaker 1: take some calls. Let's go to Mike and Long Island. Mike,
- 0:10Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, good morning, Good morning, Mark.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I got a question to you. In this city, we
- 0:16Speaker 1: probably have fifty percent. I don't know what the numbers
- 0:19Speaker 1: are of voters that are completely uneducated. Don't follow. What
- 0:22Speaker 1: city you're talking about?
- 0:24Speaker 3: New York City.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Well you're not in New York City, Okay, but it
- 0:29Speaker 1: even though the rest, well you can't you're just making
- 0:32Speaker 1: up statistics fifty percent or not on an He can't
- 0:35Speaker 1: just make up I don't. You can't just make up
- 0:36Speaker 1: stuff like that. Let's go to Jerry in New Jersey. Jerry,
- 0:40Speaker 1: how you doing good?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Mark?
- 0:42Speaker 3: How are you?
- 0:43Speaker 1: Let me check you're good. They don't really care. They
- 0:46Speaker 1: just say how you're doing, but they don't the answered yes,
- 0:49Speaker 1: go ahead, Yes, go ahead.
- 0:51Speaker 3: You believe that Andrew Andrew Clomo really wants to be
- 0:54Speaker 3: mayor after being CEO. I think they're dusting him off
- 1:00Speaker 3: to see if he could run against AOC and take
- 1:03Speaker 3: Schumer's seat in the Senate.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, No, obviously, when your
- 1:08Speaker 1: governor mayor is a big step down. Although it's more
- 1:12Speaker 1: fun to be mayor. Actually, nobody wants to go to
- 1:15Speaker 1: Albany mayor. You're in city Hall, you live in Gracie mansion.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's nicer than the governor's mansion, better located. But you're right,
- 1:23Speaker 1: you're right. He's plotting his whole life. He's been plotting
- 1:25Speaker 1: to be president.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, did you see him with Stephonicus governor if she
- 1:31Speaker 3: said you'll never serve again.
- 1:34Speaker 1: That's a good point. Yeah, that's the problem with colommeall.
- 1:36Speaker 1: You don't. You never know what he's really up to.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But the argument is, Mom, Donnie is so horrible, so horrible,
- 1:45Speaker 1: you'd vote for him. It's like, this is like the
- 1:47Speaker 1: worst mess New York has ever gotten into, and you
- 1:51Speaker 1: Democrats got us into this with your primary there without
- 1:55Speaker 1: anybody you'd want to vote for. It was Mom Donnie
- 1:58Speaker 1: and then the lowest to worst people in the world,
- 2:01Speaker 1: to Brad Lander types and the worst people have you
- 2:05Speaker 1: ever seen? In the primary in Cuomo couldn't even beat them.
- 2:07Speaker 1: He got wiped out in his own primary. But we'll see.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We got six days left until the election. Let's go
- 2:12Speaker 1: to rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich how you doing.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Hey?
- 2:16Speaker 3: Thanks Mark.
- 2:16Speaker 1: A couple of things.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Any connection the fact that us AID got defunded. Now
- 2:21Speaker 3: the Democrats are broke and they're all screaming if they
- 2:23Speaker 3: will need money.
- 2:23Speaker 1: That's pretty coincidental. Up, Yeah, that could be that us
- 2:29Speaker 1: AID was basically just a slush fund. It was to
- 2:32Speaker 1: bribe people all over the place, and a lot of
- 2:34Speaker 1: Democrats profited off of this. Shutdown is not going well
- 2:39Speaker 1: for Democrats. Republicans, their messaging is very good on this.
- 2:43Speaker 1: The problem is Trump controls the White House, so he
- 2:46Speaker 1: makes the shutdown is not painful. Remember when Obama was
- 2:52Speaker 1: president and he did the shutdown, he tried to make
- 2:55Speaker 1: it deliberately as painful as possibly. Closed everything, even though
- 2:59Speaker 1: he didn't have to. They closed monuments World War Two,
- 3:03Speaker 1: monuments that didn't require any staffing. There was no reason
- 3:06Speaker 1: to close him. He just wanted to make it look painful,
- 3:09Speaker 1: so he had them closed and the yellow police tape
- 3:12Speaker 1: was put all around him and they were closed up
- 3:15Speaker 1: just so everywhere it looked was a symbol of closure,
- 3:17Speaker 1: even though there was no reason to close those things.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Let's go to David and Passaic. David, how you doing,
- 3:22Speaker 1: good morning.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I want to reminisce what will happened on the Montdani.
- 3:27Speaker 2: In the late seventies, property valleys went down, taxes went up.
- 3:32Speaker 2: There was a lot of fires in the South, Bronx
- 3:34Speaker 2: had gangs, even have Gerald Ford told New York City
- 3:39Speaker 2: dropped dead, remember that.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that was more mid seventies. That was under a
- 3:44Speaker 1: beam and.
- 3:46Speaker 2: A beam right in. The Financial Review Board took over
- 3:49Speaker 2: and the city was bankrupt. Garbage was all over the streets.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, no way. Which party was that? Oh yeah, it
- 3:56Speaker 1: was Democrats there once again they don't do good at running.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You know who got to start? Then go to sleeve
- 4:03Speaker 2: in the subways. That's when he started the Angels Angels.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah, back then, there was quite a year. There's a
- 4:10Speaker 1: big mini series about nineteen seventy seven. It was an
- 4:12Speaker 1: incredible year. You're right. It was fires and crime, and
- 4:16Speaker 1: it was the sun of Sam summer, and it was
- 4:19Speaker 1: the Yankees and Reggie. It was quite that. It's somewhere
- 4:23Speaker 1: online you can find that nineteen seventy seven. It's a
- 4:25Speaker 1: documentary series. But it is fascinating to watch. Go back
- 4:30Speaker 1: and watch it if you can. I guess how bad
- 4:34Speaker 1: could mom Downy be? Probably? Well, remember we went through
- 4:37Speaker 1: this with the Blasio who was it didn't declare himself
- 4:41Speaker 1: as socialist, but he was pretty much a socialist. Anyway,
- 4:44Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to line too. You're
- 4:46Speaker 1: on the air. How you doing? Oh, hey, Mark Good,
- 4:52Speaker 1: it's trumb from Hey. Anybody who believes that nine to
- 4:56Speaker 1: eleven was about Islamophobia should never be mayor of New York. Yeah. Well,
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's like he's like the Muslim house Sharpton. I guess
- 5:06Speaker 1: you know. Sharpton always plays the race card even when
- 5:08Speaker 1: it doesn't apply, and he's playing that Islamophobia card when
- 5:12Speaker 1: it doesn't apply. There's not this has never been a
- 5:15Speaker 1: problem in New York City. New York City is a
- 5:17Speaker 1: Muslim city. It's eleven percent Muslim. The Jewish population is
- 5:22Speaker 1: only eleven percent. You get the same number with Muslims,
- 5:25Speaker 1: eleven percent. And if you talk to the NYPD and
- 5:28Speaker 1: look over all the data, there's not an a tax
- 5:31Speaker 1: on Muslims. It's not happening. Attacks on Jews, yes, yes,
- 5:35Speaker 1: in great numbers, Anti Semitic attacks by the thousands for
- 5:39Speaker 1: the last couple of years. You've seen them all over
- 5:41Speaker 1: the news. And if you look through NYPD data, it's
- 5:45Speaker 1: tons of anti Semitic attacks, anti Muslim attacks. You will
- 5:49Speaker 1: not find any in the city. It really doesn't happen. Obviously,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it was something people thought about right after nine to eleven,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but it didn't result in much of anything. Hey, when
- 5:58Speaker 1: we come back, Roger Friedman, the great entertainment reporter, he'll
- 6:02Speaker 1: be with us. Next, we'll get back to the mayoral race. Hey,
- 6:04Speaker 1: we'll talk to Bruce Blakeman later. He's got a lot
- 6:07Speaker 1: to say about mom Donnie. He's also the guy you
- 6:09Speaker 1: should vote for Nassau County best County Executive in America.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But all of that's coming up on seven to ten.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Wor
