- Hey everyone, I'm welcome to bless this mess on the True Drum podcast. I don't care here was Stuca hasty? All right, so we're back. We were off last week's Sorry guys. We went on a cruise and then, uh, you know, it took it took a lot to recover a little bit. Yeah, we were exhausted, everything cleaned up just getting back, and you know we had the two children with this and stuff. So it's a lot. It's not it's it's a time, you know. I will say we slept a lot though, because they they they slept really well, like how I set up the room, like I bought one of those slumber pods for the baby. And then the toddler she was so exhaust did from running around the ship all day, like she went to sleep and we slept like tell nine o'clock every morning that we could, Like it was good, So we did rest. Toddler loved the cruise. I'm not sure if I'm a cruise person. I'm sure some of you that are listening probably already knew. They're like Kara hates people. She's not gonna enjoy this. It wasn't a bad vacation. I will say, I just don't know if I'm a if I enjoyed cruises. Stu liked the cruise. Stew was ready to sign us up for next cruise. So him and the toddler and we're all like, yay cruises, and me and the baby were like men cruises. There were some really high highs and some really low lows. I know, the rooms are just so small, like if you have more than like two adults in there, I just it's it's so small. And I know they're You're like, oh, well, you don't spend that much time in the room, but you do. If you have small children, you have to come back for naptime. They need someplace. Like the baby is still not walking, so he needs someplace he can go and do. We did utilize the daycare, which the baby loved. He thought that was amazing. So he loves like going to stuff like that. Though he loves other people. Yeah, he's like, please, I'm not sure who the father is. He's like, please get me away from these people. They keep saying they're my parents, and this monster toddler that takes everything from me and let me to these nice ladies who play with me and give me everything I want. So anyways, but we had a we had an overall, i'd say a good time. I just don't think a cruise is for me, so I don't think I'll be booking anymore cruises in the future. Yes, getting off the end of the day, the end of the cruise day was terrible. Oh my god. It's like they can cattle out of them. I don't like that they they they have there's no customization on a cruise like you go to an all inclusive resort. They're much more like customer service oriented on a cruise. You just like, no, you have to do this on this time, at this this time, at this this time. There's no like flexibility or anything. So we ended up having to carry a bunch of our bags out because you had to put the stuff out in the hall the night before. And I understand they have all these people, but it's just like the customer service just went from like, oh, we'll help you, we'll help you with that too. Oh it's the last day, figure the fuck out yourself. Get off the damn boat. We have other people coming on. Like that's what it turned into the last day, and it was I felt like I was like at a really bad like drunk golden crowl buffet line being herded out of the ship. I mean, it's closing time. Went to close your bar tabs and get out. Yeah. They don't even like really feed you. The first the last day they're like, here, here's some take the bear. They have like two places open, and then you cut and everything. I don't know, it just went downhill. And the last day they're like, they're just like, fuck you. We don't care about you anymore. You were just a number on this ship before, but you were at least a number that they cared about. Now you're just a number and they don't care about you anymore. They care about the new numbers coming on. So anyways, you done right? Yes? Can we talk about this kind of down running? Yes? Okay, all right. So I didn't record. I know, I said I was going to record cruise tims, but you didn't. I didn't. I'm trying to recreate them and I'll post what I have. But I was so tired every day and everything I know, I was like, oh, I need to record that. Then I would forget really good. I know that, but that's because we were tired. At the end of the day we went all day long. Oh no, we did take naps are in the town on the on the ship days, we took naps. One hundred percent. Went in there with the children and we were like, okay, they're taking a nap. We're taking a nap, So okay. There were times I could have recorded all this stuff, but I chose not to because I was tired. I chose to nap. But I did recreate some of it at home so I could show you what I did. There was a few things that I really thought were great, so I'm gonna try to post those later. But anyway, so check out Instagram and Facebook. I've been doing some cooking. I gotta get back on book club. We've been off. It's been summertime, you know, guys. We gotta get back in the routine. Check out Instagram, Facebook, check out the patreon. We appreciate it. Nogting like Royal Cribby and get that calf off our boat. Yes, rate review, subscribe, Yeah that helps if you boost us up an Apple iTunes store or that'll help. Yeah, I mean we're a like number. There's three four million podcasts where it like three million, four hundred down there somewhere you can get us up to two million. We might actually get some traction. Yeah, so Stew's exaggeraing. We do a little bit better than that, but we definitely our hiatus did not help us. The two years we took off, we were doing really good. We were all the way in the top two hundred podcasts of truth. Well back then it was Society and culture, so it was all it was more podcast. Then they switched to true crime. We were in the top two hundred. However, when we went on our hiatus, we obviously dropped off. And now there's so much competition. It's just it's ridiculous. Wasn't even around when well, because there's no like, there's hardly any all these all these big companies have caught onto this podcasting thing. So all the mom and pop ones like us who were doing it at d I Y. Now there's all these like big time production companies putting on podcasts. But anyways, I digress. So let's get you have for like ten minutes. Shut ups do anyway, So check out the all the social media stuff patroon buy me a coffee dot com. I got me a coffee right now, I'll post and think somebody, the next person that stewart, the next person that donated, we really appreciate it. I got me an ice white chocolate mocha with a pumpkin cold phone. Yeah. Whatever. Anyways, right, let's go ahead and get into this week's episode Out of Florida. Kelly Michelle Bailey was born in August twelfth, nineteen seventy in Columbus, Georgia. Kelly's mom Charlotte, She would go on to marry John Greathouse. When Kelly was just a toddler. Kelly was an only child and she was very close to her mother, Charlotte. Charlotte, right, Charlotte. I was gonna say Charleston, but her name's Charlotte. Anyways, they spoke on the phone every day. Now, Kelly was also close to her stepfather John. He loved her as if he was his own. Like like we said, he came into her life when she was a toddler. So, uh, sorry, I got distracted. I guess there's a person on the roof next door. So they were getting new roof, weren't they, mother, God on new roof and facial boards and everything. I don't know what they're anyways, there was someone's walking on the roof outside. That distracted me anyway. So her and her stepfather were very close. You know, he's like a dad to her. Kelly was described as sweet, giving, ambitious, and smart. She graduated from college with two degrees in biology and medical technology. Now, after living in Tennessee for a while, she took a job to move back to Florida to be close to her parents. She was able to purchase her own home in Panama City Beach, Florida, near her parents. Yeah, and they were very proud of who has who she had become. They were happy she's moving closer to home, and they felt like their community was like super safe. Nothing ever happened. Plus not to mention, if your kid moves like a couple, like a block or two down from you, you're like, oh, nothing's going to happen to him, you know. Yeah. The only thing that ever happens here is spring break, Yeah, that'll be fine. Spring Break is getting kind of wild though. I heard Florida. No, but it's like real bad now. These kids are out of their trolls. I'm inclined to blame something called Fortnite. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it's to blame. I don't know. Do you know what that is? I've heard of it. Our kids are too young. We're still Mickey mouse in it over here. But I think it's Fortnite's problem. Are you sure? I'm sure might be grand theft auto's problem. No, grand theft autos old. It's still coming out there. If you know about it, it's old. You don't know about Fortnite. That's new. That's what I'm saying. It's young and around collect things and fight people. Well, there you go, just like all the other NU said. I think anyways. On November two, two thousand and one, Kelly's stepfather, John, was headed over to her house to check on her. It was in the evening, around nine pm. He had been receiving calls or he had received a call from one of her co workers. She had not shown up for seven pm shift as a medical technologist and a co worker had called multiple times and left messages with no response. Growing concern, she called John, you know a lot of these people are found because a co workers concerned about them. None of my co workers are gonna be get starned, Like maybe maybe she probably just said fuck this job and it's not coming in again. I mean we've all been there. It would take a couple of days. They'd be like, I care that's at show up for work? Hey, we should call somebody. You know, I don't know who's coming to look for me if you're not around, Oh, nobody's coming to look for you. Stu does a lot of independent work, so if you're not around im, Stue is all completely independent, actually in charge of his own schedules. So like, yeah, he would be if I didn't show up for work, it would take a couple of days and people like, oh, Care is not just angry at all of this and hates this place, and she's something something's going on. They wouldn't be called because they thought some of them was wrong, and they'd called was they'd be like, why the fuck aren't you at work? Why are we paying? Should pack you off to Perl? Yeah? Yeah, well, she probably maybe. I'm sure she makes friends at work, like all these people seem to Well, if you got to work on every day, every week day, and you're on a schedule, I'm sure you make friends. Yeah. Probably people she goes out with on the weekends do. And I have a unique situations, so sometimes it doesn't always. We don't really have per se co workers. We have co workers too. Were employed by companies, and we have people we work with. I only see my co workers like, okay, well I have actual coworkers, but I travel a lot for works. Therefore I'm not always in the same place. But anyways, go on. So anyway, her co workers were concerned, so John, only living one mile from Kelly's home, he entered her home expecting to find his stepdaughter asleep, but upon entering, he finds thirty one year old Kelly's leg sticking out in the hall from a bedroom. He goes to grab her, and that's when he notices that she's eyes cold. So he's like, oh shit, I think she's dead. Yeah. Now distraught, he immediately calls nine one one to get help. I know what help he's getting. If he thinks she's dead, We'll help just like help, Dear God, there's she's dead. Help me. I'd be like, literally, anybody, can someone come help me? I need help? Yes, while not helping her, I guess helping him. Okay, Stuart, that's what Jesus Christ, what we got to Why do we got to spell it out for me? Parse words and like do all this stuff just read? Yes now. Police respond to the scene where they find Kelly to help him, flying face down wearing only a T shirt. Initially, they thought she had fallen and hit her head on a on her would post on her bed. Yeah, it was one of those those big bed frames with the big old wood ball you know, yeah, like a four post like you know today, like our our bed frame right, our bed frame that we have is you know a lot of the ones now it's fabric or whatever. Stu hates it's. I like it because I think it looks chic, but it's like the fabric one or whatever. So if you if you hit your head, it wouldn't be a bad But I remember back in the day, like those big big gass wooden like real wood bedframes had the giant post headboards. Oh yeah, you could really injure yourself if you, Phil, but police dismissed that. After further inspection of the room, they found blood spray and spatter all over the walls, the bedroom door frame, and into the living room. They moved into treating this as a homicide and they called in the crime scene texts. Upon initial examination, they saw that Kelly was missing at least one tooth, which was found lying next to her head. She had blunt force trauma to her face and her head, Her nose was broken, and she had bruising on her body and it appeared that this was a very very violent attack. In addition to the blood on the walls in the bedroom, they found blood in the bathroom where it appeared the killer had tried to clean himself up or herself. We're going to be fair. They also found a man's T shirt or woman's T shirt on the bed. So well, there's there's a progress for people's dues his order as the murderer when we all know some fucking dude did it. They believed the attack began in the living room, where there was a blood spot found on the rug. They also believed that it started in a living room and continued as Kelly ran to her bedroom. The attacker caught up Weather and commenced the final attack. They believed she had been raped, but they wouldn't need to wait for the autopsy and testing to confirm that there was no signs of forced entring to the home police also found. Police began by interviewing John, the stepfather, since he had been the one to find the body. They did question him on his whereabouts that day, and he had a solid alibi, so they were able to move on from the stepfather, and then they asked her mother, friends and co workers if anyone would want to harm Kelly, and of course they all said no, which the majority people out there, even the bitch that I am. I don't know anybody that wants to kill me. Uh, I don't know anybody that actively want to kill you. There are many people that actively don't like me, though they'd be like, oh, she got killed too bad, tear, including our neighbors, that bitch next door anyways, not the one with the people on the roof over there. They're just weird. We don't like them. We don't like them, and if we if we have to sell this house, we're just hoping that people when they come by, those people are not outside or whatever. Whatever they do. We just pray to God. We live in like a really like an older neighborhood. A lot of the neighbors are old. That's why I hate that bitch next door anyways, real quiet neighborhood, but we got like the weird the weirdest people live next to north anyways, So no one wants to hurt Kelly or anything like that. So they find out she's a very responsible woman. She got along with everyone. I mean, she had the two degrees and everything. She went straight from college to work. She was able to purchase a home at you By on her own, like at a young age. So you know, she's really got everything going for. Now, while police are tracking down any leads, the medical examine or perform an autopsy on Kelly. Now. The autopsy revealed and even more disturbing death than they initially thought. Kelly's neck had been broken and this led to her being paralyzed from the shoulders down. Her lungs were not able to take in air and she actually slowly suffocated to death. She also suffered from multiple abrasions on her face, swollen eyelids, and hemorrhaging of the eyes. A fractured nose, lacerations and bruising on her lips, a tear in her lip through which her teeth had protruded, a knocked out two, bruising of her tongue where her teeth impacted the tongue, and abrasions on her body consistent with carpetburn. Now, because that's where they you know, they said he dragged her, he chased her down, and he or she chased her down and dragged her. Now. The autopsy also confirmed that there their suspicions that she had been raped after being beaten. So this is like really bad because she'd been beaten, her neck broken, and then while she's laying there and can't move, this sick person is raping her. Now. They were able to recover DNA from Kelly's body to later test against suspects. Police began canvassing the neighborhood and no one had heard anything that night. They did learn, however, that Kelly's ex boyfriend will live next door. I don't know which is we don't ever date somebody that lives right next door to you, because was it right right right next door? They made it sound like he lived right next door even so a house or two down. I mean, I just would be like maybe we not, we don't date because I got a move. Now I'm gonna have to move. So they bring the AX in. He denied any involvement with her death. He did tell police dead, Huh you sent an involvement with her dead. I thought I said death. No you didn't. Better. Maybe you're wrong, Maybe you said it wrong. You're closer to fifty than you are. Kind storage, stop saying that. That's not even true. It was true. It's not true. You're closer to fifty than you are twenty four. Well, you're closer to being dead than I am. Not if you keep this up, and you could be the next subject of this podcast, no, because you wouldn't have anybody to do any of the research. Well, next mommy, new mommy, new mommy, next month, next cruise, next mommy. Stop saying mommy. It sounds like you're calling me mommy like you call me mommy. Oh no, that's disgusting. Yes, come here, mommy. I never understood that where people were like, hey daddy, so cross, Hey big daddy. No anyways, well creepy okay. Anyway. The X did tell police that he still had a key to her house, and this raised red flags because they knew whoever killed Kelly had either let themselves in or that she herself had let them in. The ex boyfriend was being extremely helpful, but this did not ease the minds of the detectives. Yeah, I feel like he didn't do it whenever I heard of this, because who would willingly admit that they had a key to the house. You know, if you did it, Well, there's idiots out there. Well true, I mean I'm looking at one, but wow. Zing. They had found out They had found out from friends and family that Kelly had begun dating other people, and police believe this could have triggered him into becoming jealous and angry. He did offer a DNA sample willingly, and Kelly's parents did not think he was involved as well. They said he was a really, really nice guy and that they trusted him. They did run the DNA and it was not a match to the ex boyfriend and he was cleared. They moved on the new love interest in Kelly's life, the people that she had started dating online. Her parents were very nervous about her meeting people on the interwebs, as one white might imagine, but Kelly had reassured him she was not meeting men at her house, always in public. Well, yeah, because this was early two thousands, like the very beginning, this was brand knew, the internet was new. That's when you were getting your computer out of a box with a cow print on it. Yeah, this was like match com, like like original I'll take you said this, oh one, Yeah, match dot com. I'm pretty sure they had match dot com back then. I don't think that's where they do online dating. I don't know. I was really I was way too young to be match dot com. I don't even know if they had dating website. I'm sure they obviously did. She he is doing online dating. Well, you met people in the chat rooms, the ai AI O a aol, aol chat rooms. Yeah, the dial up was still a thing back then. Yeah, I know. I mean I'm old enough to remember dial up. And then all you had was like all you had was paint. And then all you had was like paint to like entertain you. And then you'd print out one thing and your parents are like, oh my god, that ink was seventy and it would print like one paper and you would run out of ink. Got to play a mind sweeper anyways, I did play mind sweeper. Inquired. I'm just saying, whenever you went to go print something, it was super expensive. That's why when you buy this is our this is my tip when you buy a printer. Now, don't look at the price of the printer. Look at the price of the ink. Yes, because you'll get a cheap printer, and then the cartridges will be seventy dollars a piece. You can pay a little bit more, maybe one hundred dollars more than initial investment, but it'll be worth it in the end. If your ink cartresses are cartridges. Cartridges, sure are five to ten dollars because they are that cheap if you get the right printer. Yeah, every time we go out for this printer, it is a but that we don't but this isn't. This is a work printer, so we s this is a work printer anyways, so we only print work related on It's never anything podcast never, it's only work related. Now, while they are looking into her online dating profile, please receive a call about some new evidence found in a nearby vacant lot. Now, it was a blue jacket with blood on it as well as Kelly's wallet with her credit cards. They also found a fish bat a little further down in the lot. They believe that the killer dropped these items as they fled the scene of the crime. Now, Kelly's blood was found on the fish bat, and they now know this was the weapon used to beat Kelly. Based on those facts. It was a very unique weapon to use, which stood out to them, and they're hoping that they could narrow down as to where to look for her killer. So they contacted stores in the area that sold this type of fishing equipment. But they were in a beach town, so we have to remember that. So this is probably pretty calm and there's probably tons of fish stores and fishing stores and everything like that. So they go around. They end up checking around twenty stores in the area that sold fishing equipment, but with no luck. By happenstance, this is all fate. There was this detective and he was shopping at Walmart on his day off, and he happened upon a bat for sale, like it was on the bottom and the clearance aisle or whatever, and it was a bat, and it was the same type of bat that was used in the murder. Sporting goes the section. No, it was on clearance. So he was walking on the clearance aisland. He sees this bat sticking out and he's like, oh my god, that's the exact looks like the exact bat with like the same color wood and wrapping and everything like that. Yeah, because I would have hoped they would have checked the Walmart sporting good section. Well, I don't know if they checked the Walmart sporting good s, Well, then these detectives I don't know what they're doing. Okay, Well, why would I don't know why you would think that there would be a fish bad at a Walmart. I would never even think that. Why wouldn't you think that? Because I just never would think that. I would think that you would find stuff that pertains to the area if you're offshore fishing in Florida, that you would find fish bats. Okay, well I wouldn't. I wouldn't think that. So now that we know what I think, and that would you think? What would you if you were in North Dakota? Would you think you would find crawfish in the seafood section in a Walmart? No? You wouldn't know. What does that have to do with anything? Because you can find crawfish in a Louisiana Walmart, Can you not any kinds you want to buy? Well, I don't know. If they're Chinese, they might have some Louisiana crawfish, however, or imported as they like. There was a whole controversy. They opened up a new Cajun restaurant, so we went and tried it, not me and Stew. Me and I actually do have friends, but not for long. That's a whole another story. Anyways, we went and tried there, and apparently there was a whole thing because they had to import seafood. What they had import they had important. As soon it's just gonna be me and Stew, like, I'll have no other people to interact with. They have to put in port. They put imported on their menu because they were important. It's like a big deal down here if you import like shrimp and crawfish because it comes from like I think it does come from China or something like that, does it, China, Vietnam wherever they go anyways, as opposed to local crawfish, because you know, that's the culture down here is to have crawfish from to buy you and you go down to the base and get you some crawfish. Anyways, but that place was terrible. The food came out cold. I'm pretty sure one of my friends food was on someone else's plate and they just put it on hers because it had some sort of thousand Island dressing on the bottom of it, and I was like, they took that off as somebody else's food. And anyways, terrible place. They didn't offer us any type of discounting either, for like pointing all this shit out. Oh yeah, we were there for two hours and we had like children there with us, and it was it was so bad. Anyways, they had just opened, sir. I mean, I knew better than to go to some place when they first opened. Anyway, So he's at this Walmart. He happens upon this clearance fish ibat fish ibat fish bat and it's it's exactly like the one they need. So they found out, so they immediately they go contact that's Walmart short and the foun out they'd only been two sold in the entire like shut up. So one of those was just a few days before Kelly's murder. So they're like, okay, this has got to be our guy now with this information, police pulled the receipt to see if they could get a name. While they waited for that, they move on to the security cameras from the exact time of the purchase. They see two men in the video checking out with the fish bat. So now they had an image and they're waiting for a name. You know, Walmart's taken down quite a few criminal when are they going to learn, Like, if there's any place that has cameras everywhere, it's Walmart, because they will prosecute. Yeah, and you know, you know what's gonna happen, It's because Walmart's Uh, they'll file like on their shoplifts. They'll file like a no trespass thing. So soon enough, whenever the technology is there, they're gonna have facial recognition cameras. You can't eat. So back whenever my brother accidentally stole the baseball cards accidentally, well this was the good brother, So yes, I'm pretty sure the bad brother encouraged him to do it. Okay, maybe it wasn't an accident, but but I think he was under duress anyways, and they said they said he was banned from Walmart's, but in reality, like, how are you going to do that? But he would actually be banned from all the same people saw him come back, they would say there's a no trespass on him. But what the facial recognition cameras, they're gonna be able to see instantly whenever they if they get trespassed at one store whatever, all the store, they'll see them at all the stores will be able to flag him. Plus if they're looking, if the police are like we're looking for a murderer, now, they could just send that image to these stores and they could use their cameras well because they do that in a so you'll never be able to go into a store. Well yeah, and that should be your punishment is if you kill someone, you're not allowed to shop at Walmart anyway. Yeah, you're not gonna be able to get some material supplies, yeah, or or any of them because all them have cameras. Yeah, well they do that in the UK. I think there's public cameras everywhere that they can start doing facial right, get you with five people, they get you on the TSA whenever you're coming in out of the country. Well, I know that's one thing, but I think the UK has them all on the streets. Oh really, Oh yeah, I think so they have extensive camera systems. Well, if you're in the UK, you can let us know if this is true or not. Okay, yeah, let us know if it's true. Well we'll find out here shortly. Okay. I think we have one listener in the UK, if at least one, at least one. Yeah, So they got their image, they're waiting on the name. They find out that the man that purchased the bet, they find out that he had purchased it with a personal check. Now they run that name and that account and they find out that checkbook has been reported stolen weeks earlier. When they were on the driver's license that was used to write the check, hoping this was their guy. It came up for a man in Alabama and police contact him and he tells police that his wallet had been stolen with his license in it weeks earlier. So we got a guy, unknown fellow, what a stolen check book, stolen license. Well, it's two different people, I think. The stolen checkbook and then a different person had their wallet stolen. Yea. So they call up the local police department in Alabama to confirmed the man's story and he tells the detectives yes, that he had reported a stolen Feeling like they're at an impass. Police finally get some hope when the Alabama Police Department told them that they had a suspect in the theft of the wallet. They asked for the name, and it is a twenty two year old by the name of Paul Everett. Everett had a history of stealing and forging checks and this wallet happened to belong to his grandfather. They compared the image with the known image of Paul Everett and they felt like it was a match. But sometimes you can't tell depending on the angle at the store. But they feel that they got a match on him. They began tracking down Everett and he had been on the run since he stole the wallet in Alabama. Everett's family believed that he was still in Panama City and that he was still staying at a motel or he was staying at a motel, so they contact the motel and they and the motel tells them that a bail bondsman had picked Everett up on the evening of November two, the same night that Kelly had been killed. Coincidentally, odd yes, odd timing. So he's got an alibi. Well, no, he doesn't have an alibi. So oh, no, Stuart, he does not have an alibi, so they too. Since Stu saying he has an alibi, they actually do contact the bondsman to find out about the time that he picked Everett up in his current location, like his current whereabouts, and he says that he picks him up in the evening and then he was transported back to Alabama and was currently being held there. Now, the Panama City please head up to Alabama to talk to Everett. So the timing was actually post when they believe Kelly was murdered. So, no, he does not have a solid alibi sture so Everett initially, So they talked to Everett. He initially denied any involvement and asked for a lawyer. However, however, so they went home. However, no, I sound like Stewart now whenever he says stuff like that, it's so annoying. Now. However, he later requested to speak to detectives again, and he told him that he was there that night with Kelly and they had consensual sex. Ye, he's going to play that card, That's what we're gonna do. Yes, Now, he said that Kelly's ex boyfriend, whose name he said was Bubba, attacked Kelly and he fled. It was clear that Everett was lying about their interaction. He was just trying to cover up that d any DNA evidence that he knew that they would most likely find at the crime scene. So they did run his DNA and to no surprise to detectives or anybody, it was a match. Well, he had consentual sex with her, he said, yes, that's what. Why do they think that that's gonna work? This nice upstanding woman is going to be hook up with some loser, some transient. Yeah, it's transient. That's Bell. That's uh, what is it called, broken out of his body? What's skip Bell? That's Skip Bell. Living in a hotel, living in a no, not a hotel, stud a motel. You lose a lot of amenities when that becomes in him. Yeah, and you can tell the guy, I don't know what he's talking about. He's gonna say her ex boyfriend's name, Bubba. She definitely would not date a Bubba. Well, I don't know. I don't know how many Bubbas are in Florida. I know that there's probably Bubba's in Florida. There's got the Everglade. You got your country people in Florida. Everybody thinks it's beaches and resorts or whatever along the coast, but there's there's swampy stuff. Yeah. Well we met those people that were from the swamp. Oh they were from Georgia. But same thing as close enough. We're going to get some. It was near the border of Florida and Georgia. Well when we get that, Hey, mall, it's c A r A. No, according to my coffee that I got today, it's s A r A even though I spelled it out. Because you know who didn't call me back, that stupid manager from that hotel. Anyway, that's a whole other organ I forgot about that. I left him a voice Miliontertay, he's supposed to call me back. The reason I was thinking about that is because I always spell at Kara because I don't want people think my name's Karen, and so then I'm like, Karen, you act like that, Karen. Yeah, you don't want to be waiting for a manager to call me he owes me money? Is Karen there? Yeah, it's Karen. Get used to it. Oh man, all these people named Karen got hose over. It could have so easily been Kara, It could have been any name. Now, after being confronted with clear evidence that he committed the crime, Oh Paul Everett decided to confess to the crime. He tells police that he was strung out on acid and was walking through Kelly's neighborhood. He decided he was going to rob someone, and Kelly's house was the nicest one on the block, so she got picked. He claims he entered her home and he was rifling through her purse when he heard Kelly eggs at the shower. Now, this is pretty brazen, but I guess if you're on acid whatever, I guess you'll be in a house with somebody, with the homeowner and there robbing him. So if you're strung out on acid, you kind of probably have a full sense of of they can't see me. I'm invisible home like yeah, false sense of not security of whatever. I can't think of words. I think these children robbed all my brain cells. Did you have him to begin? You know what? I walked into that one. So now, he says that Kelly charged at him and began attacking him, so he punched her twice in the face. So now he tried to turn into like he was on the defense of like she was the problem. It was self defense, you're honor. I was in her house and she tagged me. Can you believe it? Now, he says, As she ran to the bedroom, he grabbed her by the hair. I guess he didn't want her to get away from the assault that he was undergoing. That he was undergoing, and then he twisted her head. He then knocked her down and raped her. He claims he never used the fish bat, although he did bring it to the scene. Even though Everett kept to the claim that he did not kill Kelly, they knew they had enough to convict him and go for the death penalty, So on November twenty seventh, two thousand and one, Everett was arrested for the rape and murder of Kelly. Yeah, he's trying to play the whole thing where like, yes, I attacked her, but I didn't mean to kill her. Like defense. We've gone from nope to consensual. Well, I was there and then Bubba attacked and I ran too. Yes, I did it, but I didn't mean. But I'm the victim. Yeah I was. I was just going about money. This guy's still been on the on the planet twenty two years and he's just fucked up. I mean, good God, just terrible. That's what wood chippers are for, is all I'm saying. On that note, Let's move to the trial. On January twenty eight, two thousand and two, a grand jury in Florida indicted Everett on charges of first degree murder, burglary of a dwelling with a battery, and sexual battery involving serious physical force. Now, during the trial, Everett's defense team tried to suppress his statements made to police, but filled now the jury actually were able to hear his recording of him admitting to what he did to Kelly, which was very damning. Now, in November twenty first, two thousand and two, they did find him guilty on all charges, and the next day recommended the death penalty. Now, during the sentencing phase, Everett's defense team tried to get his sister to testify on his behalf, but she told him that she was angry at him for things he had done in the past, and if he indeed were guilty for the charges, the death penalty might be appropriate for him. Damn that's why they spent they the defense team ran around. It's all in the court documents. They went. They spent months trying to find not months, but they spent around all over Georgia or Alabama floor like, trying to find anybody would vouched for this character witness of some sort to keep him from at least getting the death panel. Yeah, they went the family members, all the way back to old school teachers, and no one had anything nice to say, nothing that would spare him from a death sentence. He declined to make a statement in front of the court and was in the end sentenced to death from the murder of Kelly on January ninth, two thousand and three. Now, Everett did appeal his conviction multiple times, and he still sits on death row in Florida. Why I know why no one wants him around literally nobody, not even his family. I mean, I'm not in Florida pay taxes, but if I were, I'd be upset. I've kept feeding this guy. Yes, anyway, so they're still and the plus the family is probably having to deal with like these these appeals and all the stuff, and knowing that he was convicted of the death sentence and that's his conviction, then they probably want things to just conclude so they can any time he appeals, I gotta go on if there's anything that they gotta do to I mean, thankfully, I don't think he's ever up for parole, so they don't have to deal with that, because some families have to go and do that every ten years or whatever, even less enterable than that sometimes. So to keep her memory alive and bring something positive from this horrific murder, Kelly's family holds an annual called Missing Place at the Table, and this event invites families who have lost loved ones to violent crime to set a place for them with their picture and information about their lives and who they were. It brings families together to remember loved ones and all for support. They've been doing this for over a decade and I've honored hundreds of victims of violent crime and they're still doing this today. I looked it up, but yeah, they set up a whole room and they have like little place setting, so each family sets up like a place setting, and then everybody can go around and like read about this victim of violent crime and learn about the family member. That's kind a big, terrible going into a room because there's probably a huge room, large tables. Yeah, it's lots of names. Yeah, I guess it's just so you can get the vast scope of what we remember. Yeah, it's like this. But then you walk into this room and you see probably hundreds of whatever they do, hundreds at a time. They do, but they do. It's a pretty big event anyways. Anyway, all right, so that's our case for this week. St Do you have a y'all need Jesus? Oh? I got one for you. Do you really or are you gonna make me pause this? Go find it? Let's be honest with the people. When I say, do you have a y'all need Jesus? Stuarts that usually say and then I have to go. Then I already automatically know I have to pause the podcast. We have to go have Stu find what he read a day ago, a week ago, a month ago. Oh I thought I sent it to you. Oh it's in your text message, like I didn't read it. Then we have to come back about fifteen minutes later and continue on and pretend to you guys that all that didn't happen. Okay, let me look it up. Proctic. No see this, nobody wants to wait for you to look it up. Well, maybe they do, maybe if they're here this long and they're just here for the abuse. Now, No, it just ended, Stuart the episode. I'm not doing this. I'll pause for the people. We'll be right back. Well two hours later, here we are. That is a damn one. Okay, it didn't take him as long this time because I was being a smart look and he so he was prepared. But normally it's quite sometime, folks. That's all lie anyway, Okay, we'll go on. Coming to us from the New York Post. On August twenty five, twenty twenty one, man dies after having sex. Oh my god, Stewart epoxy adhesive instead of a condom. What man didn't have a condom? So he used an epoxy adhesive. I mean, I appreciate his dedication to not procreating whenever he shouldn't be, because he sounds like he's really stupid and shouldn't be. Yeah, But so we got like a two part of POxy, mixed it together, rubbed it on his stuff, and the girl let him put it in her Like, why am I saying these words? Because that's how you really talk when the mic when we are I do not. I'd never say anything so Florida and I Florida is the question to you? This is not Florida. It is not. Do you want to know my reason why I thought it wasn't Florida. Why? Because I felt that was a pretty creative and innovative thing that he was doing, even though it was gonna kill him. That sounds like it sounds like something a meth person would do, And be like, no, then it could be Florida anywhere. However, I feel like it was too much, too much thinking through a situation, because someone from Florida would have just went for it and just said, forget it, I'll just make a baby anyways, going anyway. His bow fail resulted in fatal organ failure. Police are probing a bizarre case of a twenty five year old indianman who suddenly died after using a high powered epoxy resin instead of a compound. Instead of a condom compound before having sex, they used adhesive to avoid a pregnancy. A local investigator told The Times of India of the prophylactic fiasco. Oh, there's all kinds of good stuff. Here prophylactic fiasco. There's all kinds of good headlines that could have came. What could have had This occurred on June twenty two at a hotel in a Motabad Googar goo jar rot. Just stop, just stop now. According to senior person of the city police of this city, an officer by the name of Salmon Mirza of his hometown I get okay, stop trying to read names of places, and his unnamed ex fiance were captured on close circuit television security footage entering the fatal house and the jew Hopbrewer neighborhood of this city. Several witnesses say that Mersa, along with his former fiance, both of whom were addicted to drugs, had gone to the senior police official told the local outlet there, they applied epoxy adhesive to his private parts as they were not carrying any protection. In addition to ceiling off mister Mears's manhood, the couple also mixed the epoxy with whitener and inhaled the mixture for a kick. So they're just drug addicts that are rubbing stuff all over their bodies and sniffing, sniffing fumes. Now, the Lovebird's acquaintances told an official the Doom Deal were intoxicated from the chemical cocktail at the tame of the ill fated hookup. Following day, Meres's acquaintance, whatever her name is, discovered the man lying unconscious in the shrubs near the apartment complex, whereupon he took him home. According to the Times of India report, his condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting the friend to rush him to the hospital. Police report that Mirs had died to multiple multiple organ failure. I guess this chemical guy in the blood system messed him up. I guess so, Stuart An, this was a terrible y'all need Jesus. Why y'all need Jesus if you're gonna do drugs and trying to put in a boxy on your jump, so you for prophylactic protection. I mean even if I mean, I'm just saying nothing's good when you start with. I'm just saying, if you seal up the where's it gonna go? It doesn't It doesn't leave yet, so you don't get any release. But there's something. But I'm gonna need I need a I need an anatomy book. And I don't understand if you seal it up but it's coming out. I don't understand. It's not just gonna retreat back into the what kind of does but there's no balls area. I mean you can like, oh my god, my dad's home and you gotta snatch your stuff and jump out the window or something and it can't come out, or okay, we're done, you can pinch it off. Stop. Well what I'm saying is, yeah, you're right. What you're thinking, like, there's Daddy's home. No stop stop anyway, all right, we're done.
