- 0:03Speaker 1: Okay, I know what that is.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the hoodie Show. I'm excited and kind
- 0:10Speaker 2: of scared to find out what our poop means. And
- 0:12Speaker 2: that's why we have Gina grad to school us with
- 0:15Speaker 2: Gina's grad school. What does your poop mean?
- 0:17Speaker 3: You know?
- 0:18Speaker 1: I feel like this comes up a lot on this
- 0:20Speaker 1: show and also in odd Yeah, let's just deal with
- 0:26Speaker 1: it once and for all. Everyone seems to have a
- 0:29Speaker 1: ton of questions, so we're going to try to answer
- 0:32Speaker 1: a bunch of them today. I googled what are people's
- 0:35Speaker 1: biggest questions about poop? And apparently this is on everyone's mind,
- 0:40Speaker 1: So let's let's bring it out into the open. Nothing
- 0:43Speaker 1: to be embarrassed about, Samuel be the first to tell you.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Nothing to worry about. Everybody poop, Thank you. So, Question
- 0:49Speaker 1: number one? How often should you poop?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Now?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Again, if you're Sammy, that's like every forty.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Two seconds I breathe.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Literally? How many times a day?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Say twice? A doctor would tell you twice?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Okay, Sammy? How many times do you go a day?
- 1:05Speaker 6: Probably about four give or take.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah, I can't believe hasn't fallen out? Really? Yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 1: that's just a lot.
- 1:14Speaker 6: I'm sure, it's great. Are they rabbit poops though, or
- 1:17Speaker 6: like full poops?
- 1:18Speaker 1: No, they're full poops. But again, what I considered to
- 1:21Speaker 1: be a full poop. I'm not checking out other people's poops.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good question.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Actually, But compared to let's say the size of that sharpie,
- 1:28Speaker 4: would you say, is a poop like.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Gloss?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Which is about I don't know, four and a half.
- 1:38Speaker 6: How is that not a poop?
- 1:39Speaker 1: I mean it's because it would be like multiples of that.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Wow, that's four times a day. Multiples of that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a lot.
- 1:48Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:49Speaker 1: All right, Well, the average person poops anywhere from three
- 1:53Speaker 1: times a day, so you're above average, sammy, to three
- 1:56Speaker 1: times a week, which is sometimes more like me.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I would be freaking out if it was only three
- 2:01Speaker 2: a week.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah I am. But once a day is
- 2:06Speaker 1: the most common. And what matters most is just whatever
- 2:08Speaker 1: is regular for you, Like, as long as you're not
- 2:12Speaker 1: going like once every two weeks, then it's fine. So
- 2:16Speaker 1: a survey found that fifty percent of people, so half
- 2:20Speaker 1: the people, do poop once a day. So if that's you, congratulations,
- 2:23Speaker 1: You're in the vast majority. Less than three times a
- 2:26Speaker 1: week could suggest a little constipation. Oh really, But if
- 2:30Speaker 1: you're suddenly going a lot and have it's kind of
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, Lucy Goosey, you might want to get a
- 2:35Speaker 1: doctor involved. But most people have their big bowel movement.
- 2:39Speaker 1: When what time of.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Day after dinner?
- 2:43Speaker 1: After dinner, when you wake up around.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Nine am, I'd say afternoon afternoon okay, yeaga would say
- 2:48Speaker 4: probably fifteen hours after your big meal, So that's going
- 2:50Speaker 4: to be mid morning.
- 2:53Speaker 1: The most frequent time for people to do it is
- 2:56Speaker 1: in the morning, a little bit after they wake up.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Yeah, in their coffee. Yeah right.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It's the best time to weigh yourself too. On a
- 3:03Speaker 2: Saturday morning, you get up, you have back, you get
- 3:05Speaker 2: a big poop, yeah, and you're like, wow, I'm doing.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Okay roughly, What time of the morning is that, Well,
- 3:12Speaker 1: it depends on the person, whenever they wake up. So
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess that most people between seven and nine.
- 3:18Speaker 6: The time they get to our office.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what I was getting
- 3:22Speaker 5: to like. They can't just do it before they get.
- 3:24Speaker 3: To the office.
- 3:24Speaker 2: They don't get it.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And I think it's increase in the office every time.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Now I go into the bathroom. Somebody is pooping.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Right, yeah, and we know somebody.
- 3:34Speaker 5: It used to not be like that. Something's happening.
- 3:36Speaker 2: If you get to work at nine in the morning
- 3:38Speaker 2: and at nine ten you're in there pooping, you can
- 3:41Speaker 2: train your body. I'm convinced you can train your body
- 3:44Speaker 2: to go at eight in the morning.
- 3:45Speaker 1: If you leave, that's that's It's like, if you don't
- 3:48Speaker 1: go until one in the afternoon, what are you going
- 3:50Speaker 1: to do? But if you save it for work, there
- 3:52Speaker 1: is something wrong with you. I agree with that.
- 3:54Speaker 3: But I'm telling you, guys, like pay attention. There is
- 3:58Speaker 3: non stop pooping in this build from until like two
- 4:03Speaker 3: in the afternoon. There is constantly people in there, and
- 4:06Speaker 3: it used.
- 4:07Speaker 5: To not be that way. And I don't know why.
- 4:08Speaker 6: You ply seeing everyone else do it. So they're like, oh, yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 6: a safe space.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Exactly, this is the pooping bathroom. So another big question
- 4:15Speaker 1: that I don't know if anyone else has thought about.
- 4:18Speaker 5: But I thought about.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It and I googled it and I was not alone.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Why is poop brown?
- 4:24Speaker 2: That's great?
- 4:25Speaker 1: I never thought about actually on this one, I'll see
- 4:30Speaker 1: how close you get.
- 4:31Speaker 2: The thought is like, no matter what you eat, no
- 4:33Speaker 2: matter what color. It's always brown for the most part, right,
- 4:36Speaker 2: exactly why would it be brown? Chemicals?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Because science your blood cells, that's a big part of it.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Blood cells.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so apparently apparently it's a combination of bile, which
- 4:49Speaker 1: is kind of yellow and green and broken down old
- 4:51Speaker 1: red blood cells and if you mix that all together,
- 4:54Speaker 1: that's the color you get.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Yeah, but that's blue frosting or something.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Well that now something Menace, Well we're going to get
- 5:04Speaker 1: into that too, something Menace has never experienced, so I
- 5:07Speaker 1: know this isn't a problem for him. But like, if
- 5:09Speaker 1: it's ever kind of green, it's because you ate too
- 5:11Speaker 1: many vegetables. Morgan's got to be the queen of that
- 5:14Speaker 1: right now.
- 5:15Speaker 5: But ten shamrock shakes in a day, you know.
- 5:19Speaker 1: What, that's true because because food coloring is the other culprit.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But yeah, yellow is you're just not absorbing things correctly,
- 5:28Speaker 1: or you're eating too much fat, or you have celiac
- 5:31Speaker 1: black like you said, now this is well, here's the thing, Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 1: you have super emo poops. This casts a wide net,
- 5:42Speaker 1: so you know, don't jump to conclusions, but also be
- 5:45Speaker 1: aware it could be literally anything from taking pepto bismol
- 5:49Speaker 1: because it's made of charcoal basically, or eating black licorice
- 5:52Speaker 1: to upper gastro intestinal bleeding. Just kind of be aware
- 5:59Speaker 1: if it's happening after you eat liquorice or not red.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Most people are like, oh my god, I'm dying. But
- 6:06Speaker 1: most of the time it is because of red food
- 6:08Speaker 1: die or beats greg.
- 6:12Speaker 2: But that doesn't affect it at all.
- 6:15Speaker 6: You probably have them in the context of like a seal,
- 6:17Speaker 6: but just eat straight beets.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not eating it like an apple.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Put it on top of cottage cheese or something.
- 6:23Speaker 1: That sounds awful hot there. I don't know if anyone's
- 6:28Speaker 1: ever experienced this, but white poops Okay, so we're gonna
- 6:35Speaker 1: we're going to get into that too. This is usually
- 6:38Speaker 1: a lack of bile, so this can be caused by
- 6:40Speaker 1: gall bladder or liver or bile obstruction. So go to
- 6:45Speaker 1: the doctor if that's what you see. But we used
- 6:47Speaker 1: to I used to ask this all the time. Why
- 6:49Speaker 1: was dogs poop white? But you don't really see it
- 6:52Speaker 1: that much anymore. Yeah, there's a reason for that. Because
- 6:57Speaker 1: there was a food additive that used to be in
- 6:59Speaker 1: dog's food that it was like kind of more calcified
- 7:01Speaker 1: like crushed up bone or whatever you can.
- 7:04Speaker 6: You can get edible chalk, that'd probably turn it white.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's probably true too. And it wasn't just put that
- 7:08Speaker 1: in dog food anymore.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And it wasn't just white dog poop, but it was
- 7:10Speaker 2: like white fuzzy dog poop like it looked like a powdered.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Don't they consume a lot of fur just from grooming,
- 7:16Speaker 4: I would think, and that would get through there fuzzy.
- 7:19Speaker 1: All right, Now, this is the one that everybody should
- 7:23Speaker 1: be consulting. This is and you've probably seen this online
- 7:27Speaker 1: somewhere because or maybe it's just my feet that's getting
- 7:29Speaker 1: a lot of this on Instagram. But have you heard
- 7:32Speaker 1: of the Bristol stool chart, the famous chart.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Oh I've seen I've seen this on T shirts?
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yes, yes, okay, yeah, this.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Is very very important. We don't have to be doctors
- 7:45Speaker 1: to know when something's amiss when it comes to stuff
- 7:48Speaker 1: like this.
- 7:48Speaker 6: It's officially called the Bristol Bristol Stool Charts. Thank you
- 7:53Speaker 6: Bristol in Connecticut. Check it out chart.
- 7:59Speaker 1: There are seven types of stool on this chart. And
- 8:03Speaker 1: we are going to start with the ideal and then
- 8:07Speaker 1: we're going to talk about when you're a little constipated
- 8:09Speaker 1: or you are you really need some pedialyte.
- 8:12Speaker 2: What's the ideal log.
- 8:15Speaker 1: There's one of two kinds now, I wish it was
- 8:17Speaker 1: called something else. I didn't name it. It's the type
- 8:20Speaker 1: three and type four are ideal. Type three is the
- 8:22Speaker 1: quote cracked sausage. It's the sausage shape with little cracks
- 8:27Speaker 1: on the surface. That's a good one, yeah, mister Hans, right,
- 8:31Speaker 1: that's your when you're drawing it like in class, when
- 8:34Speaker 1: you're bored. That's the when you're drawing. However, that's an
- 8:37Speaker 1: A if you want an A plus. The optimal ideal
- 8:41Speaker 1: is the quote smooth snake, smooth, soft sausage shape, no cracks,
- 8:46Speaker 1: because cracks indicate a little bit of dehydration. So if
- 8:51Speaker 1: you want to be like the master of the toilet,
- 8:54Speaker 1: then you're going on like yes, but but that's a slippery.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Slope, firm.
- 9:00Speaker 4: I will say one of my childhood memories, so I'll
- 9:03Speaker 4: probably say this at his funerals, when we were a
- 9:05Speaker 4: little boys hang out with my dad at his office
- 9:07Speaker 4: on the weekend, and he brought us into the bathroom.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Check it out.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So proud of it because he has a soft snake
- 9:15Speaker 4: that like was peeking out above the water. By the way,
- 9:19Speaker 4: something women you'll never experience with your mother, but little
- 9:22Speaker 4: boys with our fathers.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Hey kids, I heard of this.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I didn't know if it was true that guys will
- 9:29Speaker 1: send pictures of their people.
- 9:31Speaker 6: Oh yeah, pictures. So this is a museum to this
- 9:34Speaker 6: is live in person.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Check it. I mean still to this day, sometimes you're.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Proud, Okay, how long is it?
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's more like a pile than.
- 9:47Speaker 5: You're like, all that was in there?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Wow, up in the morning.
- 9:53Speaker 5: And then again you weigh yourself, right, you get a
- 9:56Speaker 5: pep in your step.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So we said that the smooth is ideal, but let's
- 9:59Speaker 1: not get to smooth because Type five the soft blob
- 10:04Speaker 1: that means that you need more fiber and water and
- 10:06Speaker 1: things are passing too easily, just shooting right out of you,
- 10:09Speaker 1: so you're not having a chance to absorb the you know,
- 10:13Speaker 1: nutritious deliciousness.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Uh, I'm just loose.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Type five fluffy, ragged edges that can be fluff ragedy,
- 10:22Speaker 1: that can indicate a little digestive irritation. Type seven straight liquid.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You you should definitely make sure you're okay. But going
- 10:31Speaker 1: back to types one, and two that's like what you
- 10:33Speaker 1: were saying before, Morgan, like the bunny poops you know,
- 10:36Speaker 1: like the separate hard pebbly that is severe constipation, or
- 10:41Speaker 1: if it's super super lumpy, get you some water and
- 10:44Speaker 1: some fiber.
- 10:45Speaker 2: When it's pure liquid, it's really disconcerting, but it's also satisfying.
- 10:49Speaker 1: As you've ever heard the polenoscopy prep.
- 10:52Speaker 6: That's, yeah, you're.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Dealing and the very last one before you know, the
- 10:55Speaker 2: morning of the kolonoscopy and you think I'm gonna do
- 10:58Speaker 2: one last you know, visit to the bathroom and it's
- 11:01Speaker 2: just yellow liquid.
- 11:02Speaker 5: It's just.
- 11:04Speaker 2: It's satisfying.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Speaking of that, I did see a woman on Instagram.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I think she was a what are they proctologist? Or
- 11:10Speaker 1: who does your gas genologist? She said, And so, Greg,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I guess you and I did it wrong. The biggest
- 11:17Speaker 1: mistake people make when they book their colonoscopy is to
- 11:20Speaker 1: be the first one in the morning, because you want
- 11:22Speaker 1: to do it around like one, because then you are
- 11:25Speaker 1: really empty and you're not gonna have any like emergency
- 11:27Speaker 1: visits while you're they're getting you, you know, ready, Because
- 11:30Speaker 1: I was.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Just like, what if I have to go again?
- 11:33Speaker 1: And then you won't have to worry about that.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Okay, Greg, are we the only ones that like diarrhea?
- 11:38Speaker 6: And yes, and.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Yes, I feel so much better.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'll never stop crying.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I love it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Oh my god. I don't know if I like diary much,
- 11:49Speaker 2: but it does. It is such a release.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Do we have more?
- 11:53Speaker 1: Oh? Oh my god, we're to get into why spicy
- 11:56Speaker 1: food gets you crazy down there?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they'll.
- 12:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It is the Woodies show and we are deep into
- 12:13Speaker 2: genus grad school. What does your poop mean?
- 12:16Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Wrapping up with some yes, and it's the text are
- 12:21Speaker 1: coming in and I cannot stop reading this one over
- 12:24Speaker 1: and over again and just thinking about trying this. Some
- 12:29Speaker 1: of the four one nine says, growing up, we would
- 12:31Speaker 1: only eat one color fruit loop so we could see
- 12:33Speaker 1: how our poop color changed. So like, if you want
- 12:35Speaker 1: a green poop, you just eat Oh, if you want
- 12:38Speaker 1: a green poop, you would eat purple fruit lub.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Okay, that seems too time consumer separate out.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Your kids are dumb and they have all kinds of time,
- 12:47Speaker 1: all right, so lots to get to that. I think
- 12:51Speaker 1: I hope this is helpful. I hope that somebody's benefiting
- 12:53Speaker 1: from this knowledge. This was a big one, and when
- 12:57Speaker 1: it came to the top google things about poop. What's
- 13:00Speaker 1: the difference between when it floats and when it sinks?
- 13:05Speaker 1: I notice that, and you're like, huh.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Yeah, it's all good.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I'm thinking floating would be a sign.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Oh, I would think floating you need more fiber. Well,
- 13:16Speaker 1: let's find out who's right between Greg and Sammy. Uh
- 13:19Speaker 1: So when it sinks, that's the most common. That means
- 13:22Speaker 1: it's denser and more normal, Gresky. It's made up of
- 13:27Speaker 1: waste and bacteria and a normal amount of water, so
- 13:30Speaker 1: nothing to worry about. And that's kind of what you're
- 13:32Speaker 1: aiming for now. When it floats, this I didn't know
- 13:35Speaker 1: I heard about. Like, it can mean that you there's
- 13:38Speaker 1: too much fat, but it could also mean, which makes
- 13:41Speaker 1: perfect sense, gas is trapped inside, so you're eating stuff
- 13:46Speaker 1: like beans and veggies. Morgan. That's probably more your vibe
- 13:49Speaker 1: right now. Diet changes more fiber, Morgan. This stuff has
- 13:53Speaker 1: to just be all over the surface.
- 13:55Speaker 6: When I was to your diet, I don't think I've
- 13:57Speaker 6: ever noticed a floating poop.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Really mean, maybe I have, obviously I've had to write, right,
- 14:03Speaker 1: but you're saying this, and I'm like.
- 14:04Speaker 2: They flew to take a look today, I will.
- 14:09Speaker 1: A lot of connon candy and Okay, if it does
- 14:12Speaker 1: that a lot, something may be wrong with you. So
- 14:15Speaker 1: if it if it kind of stinkier than usual or
- 14:18Speaker 1: pale or light, that means your body isn't absorbing fat properly.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So you know, just be aware, maybe get that chick
- 14:24Speaker 1: checked out. So sinking is the two thumbs up way
- 14:27Speaker 1: to go, guys. And I teased it, we got to
- 14:31Speaker 1: pay it off. You know how sometimes we eat something
- 14:33Speaker 1: really spicy, they say you taste it twice.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Well, it's also tasted on the bottom of Yeah, that's
- 14:41Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I've also heard it referred to as ringsting. Yeah, that's
- 14:49Speaker 1: because of the cap sasan in the food. That's what
- 14:51Speaker 1: makes spicy food spicy. So when it passes through your body,
- 14:56Speaker 1: it doesn't really get absorbed that well. So once it
- 14:58Speaker 1: reaches your bee whole, uh, it hits the pain receptors,
- 15:02Speaker 1: the same ones that you have in your mouth. So
- 15:04Speaker 1: that means that you're going to get the same burn
- 15:06Speaker 1: on the way out as you will on the way in.
- 15:09Speaker 5: That hard alcohol too though, really.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So to combat that, you want to eat a little
- 15:14Speaker 1: fat with it. A little dairy helps neutralize it, stay hydrated,
- 15:17Speaker 1: use gentle wipes or something. We're all big fans of
- 15:19Speaker 1: here at the bidet, and you know, put a little
- 15:22Speaker 1: cream on it if it's that bad. And finally, this
- 15:26Speaker 1: wasn't well, this is more just a me thing. I
- 15:29Speaker 1: was curious about the largest human poop in history, and
- 15:32Speaker 1: apparently I was one of the only ones because this
- 15:34Speaker 1: was not one of the top searches. Any guesses before
- 15:37Speaker 1: we wrap this up with the largest singular deposit is
- 15:43Speaker 1: humans in history?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Thirteen?
- 15:46Speaker 5: We're going by size or two and a half feet?
- 15:48Speaker 6: Oh yeah, but size, oh well.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Don't they say You're intestine is like huge massive. I'll
- 15:56Speaker 3: say two and a half feet on record.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Okay, well, you guys are going to be sorely disappointed.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It is eight inches long but two inches wide. It
- 16:06Speaker 1: was found beneath this bank in London and now it's
- 16:10Speaker 1: being displayed at Yrvic Viking Center because it was from
- 16:14Speaker 1: a Viking back in the day. And the other record
- 16:17Speaker 1: in twenty seventeen is one of those medical marvels. Doctors
- 16:20Speaker 1: removed a massive feez, he's from a guy with this
- 16:23Speaker 1: rare bowel condition and that was twenty eight a half pounds,
- 16:27Speaker 1: so you know, big ups to him that probably wasn't
- 16:31Speaker 1: feeling So.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I got all this beat, you know, I just needed
- 16:34Speaker 3: to start recording it.
- 16:36Speaker 6: Always got to take pictures.
