- 0:15Speaker 1: Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to the podcast episode of Today.
- 0:19Speaker 1: So this podcast episode, it's kind of one of my
- 0:21Speaker 1: favorite kinds of episodes, and this is how to really
- 0:24Speaker 1: make the most of the rest of the year. I
- 0:25Speaker 1: did an episode similar to this at the end of
- 0:27Speaker 1: last year, which was called how to make the best
- 0:30Speaker 1: of the rest of the year or something along those lines.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But this episode is more so the final quarter of
- 0:36Speaker 1: the year, given that it's you know, I released that one,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I think at the start of December, so it was
- 0:40Speaker 1: like the last month and it was smaller things you
- 0:42Speaker 1: could do. But I was like, all right, we're entering
- 0:44Speaker 1: the final quarter of the year. This is for me
- 0:46Speaker 1: personally not only my favorite time of the year, but
- 0:48Speaker 1: it's also the time of the year when I'm most
- 0:50Speaker 1: excited where i want to make the most change, where
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm not looking at slowing down, but I'm looking at
- 0:55Speaker 1: not even making myself work harder, but just getting more
- 0:57Speaker 1: inspired and being more creative. But it wasn't always like
- 1:00Speaker 1: that for me. So I want if you're someone that's like, oh,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'll just you know, stop bothering on doing things or
- 1:05Speaker 1: trying things or whatever, and I'll wait till January. Then
- 1:08Speaker 1: I want you to really listen to this episode and
- 1:10Speaker 1: I want you to hopefully have all these takeaways for
- 1:13Speaker 1: this episode. Okay. Also, just a little fun fact, if
- 1:16Speaker 1: you are listening to this on Spotify, or if you
- 1:18Speaker 1: ever do listen to your podcast on Spotify, I now
- 1:21Speaker 1: have video on Spotify where you can watch the whole episode.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I'm looking at you right now. If you're watching this video, hi,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you can watch yeah, the whole podcast video, the whole
- 1:33Speaker 1: thing on Spotify. So, I don't know, I just feel
- 1:37Speaker 1: that it's really exciting. And then when we started, when
- 1:39Speaker 1: Shanaia and I were like, oh my god, you can
- 1:41Speaker 1: do video now on Spotify because at first it was
- 1:42Speaker 1: only accessible to certain podcasters. Obviously video on Spotify has
- 1:46Speaker 1: been around for ages, but it wasn't available to every podcaster.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So then I was like, Okay, I can do it now.
- 1:52Speaker 1: This is so exciting. And on top of that, you
- 1:55Speaker 1: can also see like it's kind of AI generated, but
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's done really really well where you've got kind of chapters.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So for example, you can look at when I start
- 2:03Speaker 1: talking about certain parts about the brain, or when I
- 2:06Speaker 1: start a new topic, you can actually look at certain
- 2:09Speaker 1: chapters so if you're somebody that does not care for
- 2:11Speaker 1: my life updates, then you don't have to listen to
- 2:14Speaker 1: that live update. Or if you normally skip past a
- 2:16Speaker 1: brain fact or if you want to go straight to
- 2:19Speaker 1: the brain factor, then that's kind of stuff that you
- 2:21Speaker 1: can do as well. So check out the video on Spotify.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Really yeah, it's cool. And also I'm actually sitting at home.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I normally record this podcast in my office, but I
- 2:29Speaker 1: thought I'm going to record this at home for many reasons,
- 2:33Speaker 1: one of them being I sometimes put so much pressure
- 2:36Speaker 1: on making sure that I've got to get to the
- 2:37Speaker 1: office and set it up and record it. And it's
- 2:39Speaker 1: way more of a setup than my home recording space.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And I really love, I really genuinely love my office
- 2:46Speaker 1: and I love recording there. But one thing that I
- 2:48Speaker 1: do kind of miss is the ease and the simplicity
- 2:52Speaker 1: of when I used to just record at home, just
- 2:53Speaker 1: with like a little mic plugged into the computer. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I am filming this, but I just
- 2:59Speaker 1: feel like I miss certain aspects of like how simple
- 3:03Speaker 1: it was when I started podcasting. So I'm trying to
- 3:06Speaker 1: bring back a bit more of a balance, and I
- 3:07Speaker 1: think I'm really going to enjoy it, and I said
- 3:09Speaker 1: to Shania today, I'm like, I'm just going to try
- 3:11Speaker 1: recording one at home and see if I feel as comfortable.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And so far I'm feeling great. I'm very relaxed, just
- 3:16Speaker 1: lying on my couch, just loving life. I would have
- 3:18Speaker 1: my dog with me on the couch so you could
- 3:20Speaker 1: see him in the video, but he's he's just out
- 3:23Speaker 1: cold outside because his dog he went for a once
- 3:26Speaker 1: a week I take him. He goes to this dog
- 3:28Speaker 1: walker and he plays with other dogs. We can like
- 3:30Speaker 1: really run, but then he sleeps for like twenty hours straight,
- 3:33Speaker 1: So love that for him. Hello, my beautiful beans. Whether
- 3:54Speaker 1: you're a long time listener to this podcast or tuning
- 3:57Speaker 1: in for the first time, I hope you'll check out
- 3:59Speaker 1: my new audiobook, How to Chase Change Thirty Days to
- 4:03Speaker 1: Master your Mindset.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It's an actionable, step by step thirty day guide to
- 4:08Speaker 2: teach you how to shift your mindset and create the
- 4:11Speaker 2: change you want to see in your life from physical
- 4:14Speaker 2: and mental health to your relationships, career, self.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Confidence, and beyond. How to Chase Change is available now
- 4:21Speaker 1: wherever audiobooks are sold. Start listening today. Let's talk about
- 4:27Speaker 1: today's episode. So this is how to maximize the final
- 4:31Speaker 1: quarter of the year, how to really make the most
- 4:33Speaker 1: of the last three months of the year. I want
- 4:36Speaker 1: you to grab a notebook. We're going to break it
- 4:39Speaker 1: down into categories. So grab your notebook's children, grab a pen.
- 4:42Speaker 1: If you need to pause this episode, go ahead and
- 4:43Speaker 1: pause the episode. But we are writing down the next
- 4:46Speaker 1: few categories. And this episode we're going to break down
- 4:49Speaker 1: all these categories and how you can really turn it
- 4:52Speaker 1: around in every single category. Not to make you work harder,
- 4:55Speaker 1: not to grind, but to make you feel creative, to
- 4:58Speaker 1: make you feel uplifted, to improve your general mental health,
- 5:02Speaker 1: your well being, and you're going to go into the
- 5:05Speaker 1: end of the year feeling great and you're going to
- 5:07Speaker 1: be even more excited coming into the new year. Okay,
- 5:09Speaker 1: so let's go. These are the categories write it down,
- 5:12Speaker 1: pause if you need to. So we have seven categories.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The first one is goals write it down. The second
- 5:19Speaker 1: one is work anything work related work slash career. The
- 5:23Speaker 1: third one is relationships, the fourth one is fun slash
- 5:27Speaker 1: hobbies and Rewards. The fifth one is health, The sixth
- 5:33Speaker 1: one is home and physical possessions, and then the seventh
- 5:37Speaker 1: one is habits. So write them all down. Pause this episode,
- 5:40Speaker 1: get a piece of paper. But I want this to
- 5:41Speaker 1: be an interactive episode. It's going to be great. Let's
- 5:44Speaker 1: get straight into it, Okay, Now, I just do want
- 5:46Speaker 1: to say here before we get into it. Keep saying
- 5:48Speaker 1: before we get into it, like every fucking three seconds.
- 5:51Speaker 1: But the aim here is that we want to make
- 5:54Speaker 1: these small but really achievable kind of tweaks within our
- 5:59Speaker 1: day that are different enough within your lifestyle that you
- 6:03Speaker 1: can look at the last quarter of the year at
- 6:05Speaker 1: the end of the year and be like, that was
- 6:06Speaker 1: the best quarter of my year. I was able to
- 6:10Speaker 1: put little changes in place when I just when I
- 6:12Speaker 1: thought that, oh it's the end of the year, fuck it,
- 6:14Speaker 1: fuck fuck what. You're not fucking your life. You know
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're here to make the most of it. You don't
- 6:17Speaker 1: want to look back and be like, oh, well, I
- 6:19Speaker 1: just gave up on doing all these new things at
- 6:20Speaker 1: the end of the year. You're going to turn around
- 6:22Speaker 1: at the end of the year and be like, that
- 6:23Speaker 1: was the best quarter of the year. I do that
- 6:25Speaker 1: every year for the best time. I'm parmed anyway, And
- 6:29Speaker 1: I also want you to look at this time around Christmas.
- 6:32Speaker 1: As there's nothing wrong with taking downtime around Christmas and
- 6:35Speaker 1: New Year, whether that's a week, whether that's two weeks.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Some people take more than two weeks, there's nothing wrong
- 6:40Speaker 1: with that. But I think a lot of us get
- 6:41Speaker 1: into this mindset of like, well, I can't start a
- 6:45Speaker 1: new habit or routine, or new goals or new health
- 6:49Speaker 1: goals or a new gym, whatever the fuck it is,
- 6:52Speaker 1: because I'm going to be taking a couple of weeks off.
- 6:55Speaker 1: We are fucking kidding ourselves if we think that that's
- 6:58Speaker 1: how it works, because you don't just take time off
- 7:00Speaker 1: of a Christmas and New Year. You also might take
- 7:02Speaker 1: time off because you go on a holiday throughout the
- 7:04Speaker 1: rest of the year, maybe your work vacations is at
- 7:06Speaker 1: a different time throughout the year, maybe you whatever it is,
- 7:10Speaker 1: there's so many reasons why you're going to take time off,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but we kid ourselves in thinking, oh, well, no, no, no,
- 7:14Speaker 1: let's not do anything for three months and wait till
- 7:17Speaker 1: the start of the year. Don't kid yourself. You can
- 7:19Speaker 1: start something and believe it or not, take time off
- 7:23Speaker 1: and be okay with taking time off and doing fuck all,
- 7:26Speaker 1: but just enjoy your time with people that you love
- 7:28Speaker 1: and then pick it back up in January. There is
- 7:30Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that. Okay, So I don't want to
- 7:32Speaker 1: hear any of this bullshit of I'll start in the
- 7:34Speaker 1: year year because then it's more likely for me to
- 7:36Speaker 1: stick it out. That's a lie. You know it's a lie.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I know it's a lie. And we've all fallen for
- 7:41Speaker 1: our own lives many, many, many times. Okay, what you
- 7:45Speaker 1: are going to do is you're going to start those
- 7:47Speaker 1: little things. You're going to get a taste of how
- 7:49Speaker 1: good it is, how easy it is to make these
- 7:52Speaker 1: little changes. You're going to notice the benefits that even
- 7:55Speaker 1: if you do take that time off, you're going to
- 7:56Speaker 1: be more inclined to be excited and want to get
- 7:59Speaker 1: back into it in January. Okay. Now, the first point,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and there's going to be an overall theme for every points,
- 8:04Speaker 1: every single point in this episode, and that is less
- 8:07Speaker 1: is more. You guys know how much I love banging
- 8:08Speaker 1: on about less is more. But if ever there was
- 8:10Speaker 1: a time, it's today less is more. So let's start
- 8:14Speaker 1: with number one, which is goals. Okay, you've written this
- 8:18Speaker 1: down pause as many times as you need to goals,
- 8:22Speaker 1: So what I want you to do here is I
- 8:24Speaker 1: want you to write down however many there are, but
- 8:28Speaker 1: ideally the top few. So if you've got like twenty
- 8:30Speaker 1: goals that you have, maybe bring it down to like
- 8:33Speaker 1: the top five. If you've got five, bring it down
- 8:36Speaker 1: to the top three. But just the main goals that
- 8:38Speaker 1: you have said you wanted to do but you haven't
- 8:41Speaker 1: yet done. So I'm not talking about a goal that
- 8:43Speaker 1: you're killing, you're nailing, it's all working for you. I'm
- 8:46Speaker 1: talking about goals that maybe you've set every year as
- 8:49Speaker 1: a New Year's resolution, as a birthday resolution, if you
- 8:52Speaker 1: do birthday resolutions like I do. I'm talking about that
- 8:55Speaker 1: kind of goal. All right, write them all down and
- 8:59Speaker 1: then pick the top few. Now, with these top few goals,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I want to make sure that you pick out flesh
- 9:05Speaker 1: out the lifestyle goals, because this is what we're going
- 9:08Speaker 1: to be focusing on. Milestone goals will be for a
- 9:10Speaker 1: different episode, but the lifestyle goals. So this is something
- 9:12Speaker 1: like I want to be a runner. I have to
- 9:16Speaker 1: run a half marathon or a marathon. I want to
- 9:18Speaker 1: be a runner. I want to be someone that regularly runs,
- 9:20Speaker 1: or I want to be someone who is just fit
- 9:22Speaker 1: who wakes up feeling fit. Or it could be I
- 9:26Speaker 1: want to be someone who plays a musical instrument. It
- 9:30Speaker 1: could be I want to be a reader. I've said
- 9:33Speaker 1: every single year that I want to read a book
- 9:34Speaker 1: every month and I've never done it. Or it could
- 9:36Speaker 1: be whatever it is. It could be I want to
- 9:39Speaker 1: drink less alcohol, I only want to drink one night
- 9:41Speaker 1: a week, or I don't want to drink alcohol at all.
- 9:44Speaker 1: You choose what it is, but it's goals ideally goals
- 9:47Speaker 1: that you've tried in the past, or you set yourself
- 9:50Speaker 1: up to do in the past, but then you actually
- 9:52Speaker 1: haven't like, followed through with it. It's not like come
- 9:54Speaker 1: into fruition. You've just not done it. Okay, so write
- 9:58Speaker 1: them all down now. I want you to pick up
- 10:00Speaker 1: the top three, top five, depending on how many goals
- 10:04Speaker 1: you have, Okay, but less is more Like I said earlier, now,
- 10:08Speaker 1: out of those few, I want you to put them
- 10:09Speaker 1: in order of importance. What is if you could actually
- 10:12Speaker 1: know that you could stick one out and nail that
- 10:14Speaker 1: and it become part of your lifestyle, part of who
- 10:16Speaker 1: you are and what you do. What would be number
- 10:18Speaker 1: one on that list? And then work your way down.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It has to come in order of importance. You have
- 10:22Speaker 1: to understand like the hierarchy of importance, and don't say
- 10:25Speaker 1: that they're all the same because it almost never is
- 10:28Speaker 1: the same. Okay, now with that top one, and we're
- 10:32Speaker 1: going to work our way down. And the reason I
- 10:33Speaker 1: do this is because we always say, Okay, I'm just
- 10:36Speaker 1: going to make a total change. You're going to change
- 10:37Speaker 1: everything in my life. But the thing is that's just
- 10:39Speaker 1: too exhausting. It never works. And the reason it doesn't
- 10:41Speaker 1: work is because it's too much conscious effort. When we
- 10:44Speaker 1: have to put in too much conscious effort to make
- 10:46Speaker 1: a change, it's exhausting. It's not that we don't want it.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's not that it's not working. It's just that it's
- 10:51Speaker 1: it's exhausting, and then you're like frayed and frazzled by
- 10:54Speaker 1: the end of the day. You want to make a change,
- 10:58Speaker 1: have it turn around, become a subconscient pattern, become a
- 11:01Speaker 1: part of who you are, becomes a non negotiable, like
- 11:03Speaker 1: brushing your teeth. I don't think, oh do I want
- 11:04Speaker 1: to Is this a goal that I have? I fucking
- 11:06Speaker 1: brush my teeth, right, So you want to make it
- 11:08Speaker 1: like that, and then once it becomes that, then you're like,
- 11:11Speaker 1: now I'll bring the next one. And that is where
- 11:13Speaker 1: it becomes effortless. Change that where it becomes that's where
- 11:16Speaker 1: it becomes a part of who you are. Okay, So
- 11:19Speaker 1: we start with one once you've nailed it, and then
- 11:21Speaker 1: we work our way down that list. So the one
- 11:23Speaker 1: thing that you haven't yet done that you wish you did,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and I want you to ask yourself, what does fifty
- 11:29Speaker 1: percent of this look like? Okay, and let's use running
- 11:35Speaker 1: as an example. I want to run five k's three
- 11:38Speaker 1: times a week. Okay, what does fifty percent of that
- 11:42Speaker 1: look like? There's many versions of that. It could be
- 11:43Speaker 1: well what if I just ran once a week? But
- 11:45Speaker 1: you're like, no, no, no, but I want to do
- 11:46Speaker 1: it multiple times a week, so I stick to it
- 11:48Speaker 1: more often. Okay. So instead of you know, what's the
- 11:51Speaker 1: distance that I had in my mind and you're like, well,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, probably five k's or whatever, Now ask yourself,
- 11:56Speaker 1: what is the thing that I hesitate the most? And
- 11:59Speaker 1: so for eas sample, say you want to do the running,
- 12:01Speaker 1: but then when you're about to go running, the thought
- 12:03Speaker 1: of like being puffed out for half an hour or
- 12:06Speaker 1: for an hour. You're like, fuck that. Then you think
- 12:08Speaker 1: what if I ran half of it and walked the
- 12:12Speaker 1: other half, Or what if I ran one k and
- 12:14Speaker 1: walked the rest or half a k and walked to
- 12:17Speaker 1: the rest. I'm still getting up, I'm still dedicating the time.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm still putting my running shoes on, I'm still doing
- 12:21Speaker 1: that same distance. I'm still tik tik tik tik tik
- 12:24Speaker 1: tik tik. But the barrier to entry, what is that
- 12:28Speaker 1: barrier to entry? And how can I minimize it to
- 12:31Speaker 1: be more realistic for me to do that thing? Okay,
- 12:33Speaker 1: say it is the example that I always use, and
- 12:35Speaker 1: I don't know why it was this example. Say it's
- 12:38Speaker 1: practicing the guitar. You might think, well, I don't want
- 12:40Speaker 1: to dedicate an hour to practicing the guitar. Okay, what
- 12:42Speaker 1: if I were to pick it up for ten minutes
- 12:44Speaker 1: ten minutes, not because I think I'm going to gain
- 12:46Speaker 1: much in those ten minutes, but I get the feel
- 12:48Speaker 1: of the guitar. I don't really have much of the frustration.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's still quite exciting. I do a little bit of thing,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and then by the time I put the guitar back
- 12:54Speaker 1: in its case, I'm kind of like, well, that was
- 12:56Speaker 1: quite enjoyable. I really liked that. I'm not going to
- 12:58Speaker 1: look at it as like, oh, you know, I'm not
- 13:01Speaker 1: really good enough and it's not as exciting at the
- 13:03Speaker 1: start because I don't know much. It's just this fun
- 13:05Speaker 1: little thing. Okay. The same could go for drinking. You
- 13:08Speaker 1: could be like, all right, instead of cutting all alcohol out,
- 13:11Speaker 1: why don't I instead think of like a particular milestone
- 13:15Speaker 1: that I want to achieve. So let's say I drink
- 13:18Speaker 1: four nights a week. What if I were to choose
- 13:21Speaker 1: maybe two nights. Then instead of drinking, I could, you know, whatever,
- 13:26Speaker 1: you replace it with something else, and instead of going out,
- 13:28Speaker 1: you could be doing something else. And if you're someone
- 13:30Speaker 1: that's so easily swayed, you could say to your mates, hey,
- 13:32Speaker 1: instead of going out drinking, here, why don't we do
- 13:34Speaker 1: this fun activity where I'm less likely to be ordering
- 13:37Speaker 1: you know, three glasses of red and then I, you know,
- 13:39Speaker 1: spiral and end up drinking, you know, for the rest
- 13:42Speaker 1: of the night. The same goes for meditating. You're like, well,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I can't sit with my thoughts. I can't just sit
- 13:46Speaker 1: there alone with my thoughts. What does fifty percent of
- 13:49Speaker 1: that look like I could just set a timer and
- 13:52Speaker 1: listen to the sounds of rain for three minutes and
- 13:56Speaker 1: try and think of something that I actually think is
- 13:58Speaker 1: funny or enjoyable. So while I'm not trying to have like,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, not focusing on thought or soft focus, I'm
- 14:04Speaker 1: at least dedicating that time. So there's always a way
- 14:07Speaker 1: that you can bring it down. Bring it down, Bring
- 14:09Speaker 1: it down, and ask yourself, what is the barrier to entry.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I don't want to be with my thoughts. I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm not really good at that, so I don't know
- 14:14Speaker 1: where to begin. I don't want to be puffed out
- 14:16Speaker 1: for so long and think how can I grab that
- 14:19Speaker 1: barrier to entry and minimize it a little bit? So
- 14:22Speaker 1: that way, it's like, well, I've now made it so
- 14:24Speaker 1: easy for myself, why am I not going to do it? Okay,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and just start with one fucking thing. Okay, If you
- 14:32Speaker 1: do that thing and straight away it becomes part of
- 14:34Speaker 1: your last time, you're like, wow, that was easier than
- 14:36Speaker 1: I thought. Then bring on the second thing. But I'm
- 14:38Speaker 1: talking about the number one thing on that list. That's
- 14:40Speaker 1: what you're going to do and get clear on what
- 14:42Speaker 1: that looks like. And we are starting before the end
- 14:44Speaker 1: of the year. I want you to think about what
- 14:46Speaker 1: it's going to look like at the end of the year,
- 14:47Speaker 1: looking back, being like, Wow, I'm pumped. Now let's going
- 14:51Speaker 1: to the second point. Work. This is a huge one
- 14:54Speaker 1: for everyone. I don't care if you're an employee. I
- 14:56Speaker 1: don't care if you work for yourself. I don't care
- 14:58Speaker 1: if whatever, whatever, whatever. I want you to find a
- 15:01Speaker 1: way to identify parameters, like real parameters and boundaries so
- 15:05Speaker 1: you are not taking work home with you. This is huge.
- 15:09Speaker 1: And I'm talking about not just physically doing the work.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I'm talking about emotionally bringing the work home with you, okay,
- 15:16Speaker 1: because there are many people who are like, oh, yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: but you know, I don't physically do the work, but
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm at home, like kind of stressing about this project
- 15:22Speaker 1: or thinking about these And I don't care if you
- 15:26Speaker 1: love your job and if you're really fucking good at it,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I don't care if it's whatever. Like if you're like, oh,
- 15:32Speaker 1: but it's all positive, it doesn't matter. You are so
- 15:35Speaker 1: much more than your work, and you don't want to
- 15:38Speaker 1: make most of your life about your work. Even me, like,
- 15:42Speaker 1: I love what I do, but I can for it's
- 15:44Speaker 1: a slippery slope between loving what I do and then
- 15:47Speaker 1: bringing it home with me and then kind of thinking
- 15:49Speaker 1: about it, writing Johnny d lahlah blah, and then before
- 15:51Speaker 1: I know it, it's the next day. And then I
- 15:52Speaker 1: do the same, and it's the next day. And then
- 15:53Speaker 1: I look back on my week and I'm like, it
- 15:57Speaker 1: was I don't like, where did I have my own
- 15:59Speaker 1: personal fund? And where did I go and do all
- 16:01Speaker 1: the where? So I think the importance is how can
- 16:04Speaker 1: I separate work life from home life? No matter how
- 16:07Speaker 1: good and how fun your work life is, it is work.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Stop labeling it as something else. Okay, so that could
- 16:14Speaker 1: be For example, one thing I do is I try
- 16:17Speaker 1: and keep certain things at my office and I don't
- 16:19Speaker 1: bring them home. Another thing you could do is you
- 16:21Speaker 1: could get your housemates or your partner or whoever you
- 16:23Speaker 1: or your family, whoever you live with to help you
- 16:26Speaker 1: with this. And you say, you know, if I work
- 16:28Speaker 1: from home at this time, do not let me look
- 16:31Speaker 1: at my computer again. It gets closed and it has
- 16:33Speaker 1: to go in a shelf or whatever. Like it's it's
- 16:35Speaker 1: how am I going to for the rest of the
- 16:37Speaker 1: year create a huge divide between work and personal free
- 16:41Speaker 1: time because you are so much more fun than you
- 16:44Speaker 1: give yourself credit for. You are way more creative, way
- 16:48Speaker 1: more lighthearted, way more entertaining than you give yourself credit for.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But you probably get so bogged down in thoughts of
- 16:54Speaker 1: like what you have to do, what's coming up tomorrow? Work, work, work, work, work, work,
- 16:57Speaker 1: and then you end up being one of those people
- 16:59Speaker 1: that live for the weekend. Stop living just for the weekend.
- 17:03Speaker 1: You are allowed to have fun. You're allowed to have
- 17:06Speaker 1: a great time. You're allowed to make every day a
- 17:10Speaker 1: fun day. Whether you have resources to spend money to
- 17:13Speaker 1: do that or whether you are on a budget and
- 17:15Speaker 1: you're having fun for free, Okay, it doesn't matter. You
- 17:17Speaker 1: are able to do that. So I really want you
- 17:20Speaker 1: to basically say to yourself, what are the parameters that
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm going to be putting in place moving forward? Okay?
- 17:27Speaker 1: And one thing that I think is crucial is not
- 17:30Speaker 1: checking your emails. And there's like laws around this shit.
- 17:34Speaker 1: If you're not getting paid to check your emails outside
- 17:36Speaker 1: of work, then you shouldn't be doing it, okay. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: if your boss wants to request it, let them request it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You don't have to do it until you're getting paid
- 17:42Speaker 1: to do it all right. Next one is relationships. This
- 18:06Speaker 1: is a huge one. This is such a huge one.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I want you to really identify. There's there's three questions
- 18:12Speaker 1: we're going to ask him in this relationship category. Number
- 18:14Speaker 1: one is what relationships are you going to choose to
- 18:19Speaker 1: no longer put your energy into? And a really big
- 18:22Speaker 1: one is when you're trying to force something that's just
- 18:26Speaker 1: absolutely not happening, whether it's romantic, whether it's a friendship,
- 18:29Speaker 1: whether it's closeness with someone in your family or and
- 18:32Speaker 1: you're with your in laws or whatever. It's not saying
- 18:34Speaker 1: you've got to cut people out, but you've got to
- 18:36Speaker 1: say where am I Where do I need to pull
- 18:38Speaker 1: back or eliminate altogether as far as effort and energy
- 18:42Speaker 1: that I'm putting into what am I forcing? And the
- 18:44Speaker 1: reason I thought of this is because the other day
- 18:46Speaker 1: I went for a run suras I love running, and
- 18:49Speaker 1: I ran past this bar and I remembered like a
- 18:52Speaker 1: few years ago, actually more than like probably eight years ago,
- 18:55Speaker 1: I was like really into this guy and he was
- 18:58Speaker 1: just like we had a casual kind of thing going on.
- 19:01Speaker 1: It's not like he didn't know who I was. We
- 19:03Speaker 1: were casually kind of seeing each other. But I was
- 19:06Speaker 1: forcing this thing to be something it absolutely was not.
- 19:10Speaker 1: We never were exclusive, we never properly officially dated, and
- 19:12Speaker 1: I was like, this has to happen. I'm so into him,
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'm so and there were so many warning signs that
- 19:18Speaker 1: it was not reciprocated in that way. This guy did
- 19:22Speaker 1: not want a relationship with me the way that I wanted.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And I was putting in so much energy, so much time,
- 19:27Speaker 1: so much mental effort that it was so draining, and
- 19:31Speaker 1: I refused to look at it for what it was
- 19:33Speaker 1: because I thought I wouldn't be able to handle the truth,
- 19:37Speaker 1: basically because I thought I'd be heartbroken or I thought
- 19:39Speaker 1: i'd feel too rejected. But I can tell you that
- 19:41Speaker 1: the moment that it ended, yeah I cried. I did cry,
- 19:44Speaker 1: but very very soon after, I'm like, wow, I just
- 19:48Speaker 1: feel so much more lighthearted that anxiety if like, are
- 19:51Speaker 1: they going to reply? What? Can I try and bump
- 19:52Speaker 1: into them? Can I can? I that? I'm like, I'm
- 19:54Speaker 1: never doing that to myself ever again. The freedom that
- 19:58Speaker 1: I had, the mental freedom that I had when that
- 20:00Speaker 1: fully was eliminated out of my life was irreplaceable. Okay,
- 20:04Speaker 1: so it's hard in the moment, but ask yourself what
- 20:07Speaker 1: am I forcing? And friendships as well. And I'm not saying,
- 20:10Speaker 1: oh that friend never asked you out for dinner. Never
- 20:13Speaker 1: never call them back again. That's it. I'm saying, if
- 20:17Speaker 1: your friend never puts in the effort, you don't have
- 20:19Speaker 1: to be angry about it. But just think I might
- 20:21Speaker 1: take a three month break. I'll see if they message me,
- 20:24Speaker 1: maybe not. I'm not going to be There's not going
- 20:26Speaker 1: to be any animosity here, but I'm going to take
- 20:27Speaker 1: a break. The same goes for family whatever. Okay, we
- 20:31Speaker 1: need to put our energy at least for the last
- 20:33Speaker 1: three months just to see what it feels like into
- 20:35Speaker 1: the right relationships. So the next question is who would
- 20:39Speaker 1: I like to connect with more than I don't than
- 20:42Speaker 1: someone I'm not connecting with enough before the end of
- 20:45Speaker 1: the year, even if it's one catch up, even if
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's a phone call. Set yourself the goal to connect
- 20:49Speaker 1: with someone who really matters to you. So, for example,
- 20:53Speaker 1: one thing that I really want to do is have
- 20:55Speaker 1: a really good zoom with one of my closest friends,
- 20:58Speaker 1: Kyli in the US. We rarely contact each other, and
- 21:01Speaker 1: I think that you know, we both understand that we're
- 21:05Speaker 1: not like, we're just as bad as each other if
- 21:07Speaker 1: you want to call it. But every time we do
- 21:09Speaker 1: have that call, it feels really good. So that's my person.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I've just shared it with you. So ask yourself, who
- 21:13Speaker 1: am I going to connect with before the end of
- 21:14Speaker 1: the year that I don't normally connect with? So I
- 21:16Speaker 1: couldn't say live because I say live almost every day,
- 21:19Speaker 1: and really make that your goal and put the effort
- 21:22Speaker 1: into connecting with this person. And again, don't make it
- 21:25Speaker 1: someone who're like, are they're going to reject me? Someone
- 21:27Speaker 1: that is actually your friend because I'm not here to
- 21:29Speaker 1: make you feel, you know, awkward and be rejected. And
- 21:32Speaker 1: then the third one is I want you to start
- 21:35Speaker 1: planning a fun activity. And this could be either with
- 21:38Speaker 1: your bestie, with a sibling, with someone who's close with you.
- 21:40Speaker 1: It could be with your partner, but someone who is
- 21:44Speaker 1: a on board with doing this and see who like
- 21:47Speaker 1: and be who really you know kind of ideally someone
- 21:50Speaker 1: who's also listening to this episode, who can you know
- 21:52Speaker 1: want to do the same thing. But it doesn't have
- 21:53Speaker 1: to be. But I want you to plan a fun
- 21:55Speaker 1: activity that you can do regularly ideally weekly leading up
- 21:59Speaker 1: to the end of the so probably twelve times in
- 22:01Speaker 1: turn now in the end of the year. And that
- 22:02Speaker 1: activity can be whatever, and it could be aligned with
- 22:05Speaker 1: your budget. It could be every Wednesday, we're going for
- 22:07Speaker 1: a long walk, or we're gonna go to this We're
- 22:09Speaker 1: gonna drive to this little spot and do a walk,
- 22:11Speaker 1: or we're gonna go have a sauna, or we'll go
- 22:13Speaker 1: for an ocean dip. Or we like what I do
- 22:16Speaker 1: with my cousin every Tuesday we get together and cook,
- 22:19Speaker 1: or we're gonna go rock climbing, or but we do
- 22:21Speaker 1: this weekly thing. You have no idea. This is one
- 22:24Speaker 1: of the best ways to separate work from personal life
- 22:26Speaker 1: where you have this fun activity. It's not tied to income.
- 22:28Speaker 1: It's not tied to this like I have to be
- 22:30Speaker 1: the best or get better at but it's just purely
- 22:32Speaker 1: for fun. You do it with someone who you love,
- 22:34Speaker 1: so you're even more in the zone because you're so
- 22:37Speaker 1: present it is. It breaks up your week, It gives
- 22:40Speaker 1: you something to look forward to. I can't speak highly
- 22:43Speaker 1: enough about doing a joint activity with someone you adore it. Oh,
- 22:48Speaker 1: it's so good for the soul. So do that, and
- 22:50Speaker 1: it could be the most basic thing, but do it
- 22:52Speaker 1: ideally weekly, if not fortnightly, and ideally with the same person,
- 22:56Speaker 1: so you can like have something that you get excited
- 22:59Speaker 1: to when you both going to commit on that same level.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But if you can only do it, you know, once
- 23:04Speaker 1: every three weeks, that's fine as well. Obviously, now we're
- 23:08Speaker 1: going to go into the next category, which is fun
- 23:11Speaker 1: slash hobbies and rewards. So I kind of spoke about
- 23:14Speaker 1: this in the last point just then about how you're
- 23:16Speaker 1: going to weave in fun things. But I want you
- 23:18Speaker 1: to zoom out and ask yourself, how can I actually
- 23:22Speaker 1: bring fun into my life in a broader way. I
- 23:27Speaker 1: think we get so caught up in like gold setting
- 23:29Speaker 1: and seeing growth and achieving certain things and like getting
- 23:33Speaker 1: healthy and getting fitter and you know, all that, which
- 23:36Speaker 1: is great. I'm all for goal setting, but I think
- 23:38Speaker 1: that we don't put having fun at the top of that.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And I believe that everything it's not even I believe
- 23:44Speaker 1: there's so much to back this, but everything really reflects
- 23:47Speaker 1: your mood, and the happier you are, the easier it
- 23:50Speaker 1: is for other things to go well in your life.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I think we don't put enough importance on having fun
- 23:54Speaker 1: because it seems like, oh, childish and a bit like
- 23:59Speaker 1: cute fun. But I've got more important shit to do.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But I think having fun is probably one of the
- 24:04Speaker 1: most important things that we need to do in our life.
- 24:07Speaker 1: It's obviously for our mental health, for our relationships, for
- 24:11Speaker 1: stability in our life. What is the point of every
- 24:14Speaker 1: goal that we try and achieve. It's to feel a feeling.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And what is that feeling. It's going to be happiness
- 24:18Speaker 1: or satisfaction or security, okay, and fun can provide you
- 24:22Speaker 1: with so much of that. So I think it's really
- 24:23Speaker 1: important to put fun back up on that pedestal like
- 24:27Speaker 1: a child does, and think, how can I really put
- 24:30Speaker 1: the focus on fun. So one of those things is
- 24:31Speaker 1: going to be the weekly thing you do with your friend,
- 24:33Speaker 1: like I just suggested. But then there can be other
- 24:35Speaker 1: things that you do for fun as well, and they
- 24:37Speaker 1: could be solo things. It could be joining a group thing,
- 24:41Speaker 1: it could be whatever it is that you want. I
- 24:44Speaker 1: want to start, you know whatever, I'm going to join
- 24:47Speaker 1: a run club, you might think, alexis that is absolutely
- 24:49Speaker 1: not my idea of fun. I want to start doing pottery,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I want to start whatever it is, Okay, But you've
- 24:54Speaker 1: got to ask yourself, how can I weave more fun
- 24:57Speaker 1: into my life? Why don't you start inviting people out
- 25:00Speaker 1: more often? Who cares if if they say no or whatever.
- 25:02Speaker 1: But you be the spontaneous one, and why don't you
- 25:05Speaker 1: start doing spontaneous things? Call your friend being like, what
- 25:08Speaker 1: are you doing tonight? Let's get a yochi, you know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: frozen yogurt for those of you that don't go to yogi.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I love it so much. Not spawn but it should
- 25:15Speaker 1: be spawned. I should be re sponsor about yogin. And
- 25:19Speaker 1: then another thing under this category of fun is I
- 25:22Speaker 1: want you to think of a hobby that you would
- 25:26Speaker 1: like to do when the holidays arrive. So a big
- 25:29Speaker 1: one for me is puzzles and reading. I do puzzles
- 25:32Speaker 1: and read a lot during the holidays, and it is
- 25:35Speaker 1: such a great way to switch off in between the years.
- 25:38Speaker 1: So in between end of the year and start of
- 25:40Speaker 1: the year, it forces me to like not do much work,
- 25:42Speaker 1: to really slow down, and it's like one of those
- 25:44Speaker 1: pajama days that I talk about that my sister taught
- 25:47Speaker 1: me about. It's like it almost forces you to slow down,
- 25:50Speaker 1: so you are more excited about getting back into things
- 25:52Speaker 1: later on. So I want you to think of what
- 25:54Speaker 1: is one hobby that during the downtime, whether it's one week,
- 25:57Speaker 1: two weeks, however long I take off, I am going
- 25:59Speaker 1: to really get into so you can take it. You
- 26:01Speaker 1: can do puzzles and books. It sounds so lame, but
- 26:04Speaker 1: it's I'm so obsessed with it, and it's like a
- 26:07Speaker 1: meditation almost. And then with rewards, I want you to
- 26:10Speaker 1: come up with a whole bunch of rewards. So, for example,
- 26:13Speaker 1: one thing that I said to myself is I want
- 26:15Speaker 1: to start creating more of a back catalog of podcast episodes.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I'm always kind of like running a little bit behind,
- 26:21Speaker 1: and there's been a few days where the episodes come
- 26:23Speaker 1: out late. So I said, I want to bank at
- 26:25Speaker 1: least four podcast episodes this week. This is my third
- 26:29Speaker 1: one that I'm doing, so I've got one left after this,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and I'm really enjoying it. It's going at a good pace.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I'm not overstressing myself. But I'm doing four episodes this week,
- 26:36Speaker 1: and I've got a few other things that I added
- 26:38Speaker 1: to that list. But I didn't make it crazy, but
- 26:40Speaker 1: I made sure that it was definitely stretching myself a
- 26:43Speaker 1: little bit to something that I haven't been doing consistently,
- 26:46Speaker 1: and I said, I'm going to reward myself now. I
- 26:49Speaker 1: wanted to reward myself by and I haven't done this
- 26:52Speaker 1: in months and months and months because I'm like, should
- 26:54Speaker 1: I be spending the money on that whatever, But I
- 26:56Speaker 1: really wanted to reward myself with the massage. So I've
- 26:59Speaker 1: told myself I will let myself spend the money on
- 27:01Speaker 1: the massage at the end of the week if I
- 27:03Speaker 1: get these four podcasts done, and that reward to look
- 27:06Speaker 1: forward to. Look, I haven't achieved it yet, but I
- 27:08Speaker 1: can tell you I'm really excited about this thing and
- 27:11Speaker 1: I can't fucking wear And there's this guy at the
- 27:13Speaker 1: massage place. It's Thie Village Massage in Pott's Point. His
- 27:16Speaker 1: name is Prince. He's the cutest time man ever and
- 27:19Speaker 1: he's the best. So that's what I want to do.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So I think it's really important to have a whole
- 27:26Speaker 1: list of rewards that can be tied to this goal
- 27:29Speaker 1: thing that I said for the first point. So the
- 27:31Speaker 1: reward could be I'm going to have frozen yogurt, I'm
- 27:34Speaker 1: going to have a massage, or it could just be
- 27:36Speaker 1: something where there's like you're not spending any money at all. Okay,
- 27:40Speaker 1: now the next thing is number five. We're talking about health.
- 27:43Speaker 1: We're going to do something for our mental health and
- 27:46Speaker 1: our physical health. So physical health, this could be anything.
- 27:48Speaker 1: So this could be working on strength, healing an injury.
- 27:51Speaker 1: It could be sleeping better. It could be having like
- 27:53Speaker 1: doing things to have more energy, fueling yourself better, drinking
- 27:58Speaker 1: more water, drinking less alcoholic anything that's tied to physical health.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And then mental health, so that's anything around being less
- 28:04Speaker 1: stressed or less anxious, not burning out, increasing your focus,
- 28:09Speaker 1: and also sleeping better that falls into both categories. Now,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I want you to pick one thing in each category,
- 28:14Speaker 1: and this is similar to the goal setting that we had,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but this is more around your health. You pick one
- 28:18Speaker 1: thing in each of those categories, and I want you
- 28:21Speaker 1: to just focus on. For example, let's say we're talking
- 28:25Speaker 1: about the health, how can you minimize it so there's
- 28:28Speaker 1: no barrier to entry. But for your physical health and
- 28:31Speaker 1: for your mental health, I think if you have nowhere
- 28:34Speaker 1: to start and you need improvement on your sleep, I
- 28:37Speaker 1: think sleep is the best place to start, Like how
- 28:40Speaker 1: can I nail my bedtime routine or how can I
- 28:43Speaker 1: nail MyD not even routine, but like just that thirty
- 28:46Speaker 1: minutes before I go to sleep, you know, not being
- 28:48Speaker 1: on screens or whatever whatever it is. But I want
- 28:51Speaker 1: you to think, what are my goals around this? What's
- 28:53Speaker 1: the most important goal here? Like feeling less stressed for example? Okay,
- 28:57Speaker 1: so what's a relatively easy barrier to entry instead of
- 29:00Speaker 1: being on my phone scrolling unlimited? I will still let
- 29:03Speaker 1: myself use the phone, but when I'm on the phone,
- 29:05Speaker 1: I'm going to like get one of those time out
- 29:08Speaker 1: apps so I can go on it, but after ten
- 29:10Speaker 1: minutes or fifteen minutes, it will shut me out and
- 29:12Speaker 1: then I'm going to switch tasks. Okay, that's so easy
- 29:15Speaker 1: because you're not cutting something out, you're not going cold turkey,
- 29:17Speaker 1: You're just limiting the time. Okay, that's a great one
- 29:21Speaker 1: for mental health that I would highly recommend everyone do,
- 29:24Speaker 1: not just people that are anxious. Now we've got number six,
- 29:27Speaker 1: and this is home and physical possessions. This is huge. Okay,
- 29:31Speaker 1: We're going to streamline and we're going to tidy. Organizing
- 29:35Speaker 1: your physical space will equal an organize and a calm mind.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I cannot bang on about this enough, like it is
- 29:42Speaker 1: I will bang on about this till the day I'll
- 29:45Speaker 1: be on my fucking deathbed, and I'll be like, do
- 29:47Speaker 1: you clutter your space? And it's not about being perfect,
- 29:49Speaker 1: because I will go like from a like perfection to mess,
- 29:53Speaker 1: perfection to mess perfection to mess, and it's getting better.
- 29:55Speaker 1: The mess isn't as big, and it's getting less and
- 29:57Speaker 1: less and less. But it's a working progress. But one
- 30:00Speaker 1: thing that I recommend that you do is you think about,
- 30:02Speaker 1: what is one thing that I really want to streamline
- 30:04Speaker 1: between now and the end of the year. Is it
- 30:06Speaker 1: my wardrobe? Is it my computer with all the files?
- 30:09Speaker 1: Is it? What is something that when I look at
- 30:11Speaker 1: it and I'm like, oh, is it my bathroom cupboars?
- 30:13Speaker 1: Is it my kitchen? Is it fucking shit everywhere? Is
- 30:16Speaker 1: in my pantry? What is the one thing that you're like,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I just can't, I can't, I can't. And that's your
- 30:21Speaker 1: physical clutter space, your mental focus. Like, one thing that
- 30:24Speaker 1: I've decided to do is I'm no longer going to
- 30:26Speaker 1: have shit in my car. I'm so sick of having
- 30:29Speaker 1: shit in my car. And I've been really good at
- 30:31Speaker 1: maintaining that for the last two weeks. But you pick
- 30:33Speaker 1: what it is, and you're going to do one small
- 30:36Speaker 1: thing towards that thing, ideally every single week, but you
- 30:41Speaker 1: could do like one big sprin clean off your kitchen,
- 30:43Speaker 1: and then weekly you're just doing like a ten minute
- 30:46Speaker 1: little maintenance thing there, Okay, and then the last one.
- 30:49Speaker 1: And this is really this is fun because it's so
- 30:52Speaker 1: fucking easy. You're going to start one new habit, and
- 30:56Speaker 1: it's got to be the easiest fucking habit you can do,
- 30:59Speaker 1: because the point of this exercise number seven has got
- 31:03Speaker 1: nothing to do with making that habit positively impact your life.
- 31:07Speaker 1: The point of this exercise is to prove to you
- 31:10Speaker 1: that you are able to stick to something and make
- 31:12Speaker 1: that change and make it permanent to the point where
- 31:14Speaker 1: you never have to think about it again. So this
- 31:16Speaker 1: habit has to be really easy. Now, the example that
- 31:19Speaker 1: I wrote down is having a hook by your door
- 31:22Speaker 1: and thinking, from now on, no matter what, I'm going
- 31:24Speaker 1: to walk in the door and put the keys on
- 31:26Speaker 1: the hook. That is a brand new habit that requires
- 31:29Speaker 1: next to no effort because it's you literally open the
- 31:31Speaker 1: door and it's right then you put the keys on.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Never have to think about it again. I've just created
- 31:34Speaker 1: a whole new habit, and I've taught myself that it's possible,
- 31:37Speaker 1: and I can scale it and make it harder in
- 31:38Speaker 1: the future. But I've just taught myself that I can
- 31:40Speaker 1: start a new, very basic habit, and then you can
- 31:43Speaker 1: make the habits harder and harder and harder. Another habit
- 31:46Speaker 1: could be when I get out of the shower, I'm
- 31:48Speaker 1: going to hang my towel in this certain way, or
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm going to But Matt, I want the thing you choose,
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't overthink it. Make it so simple that it's like, obviously,
- 32:00Speaker 1: it's going to be significant enough that you're going to
- 32:01Speaker 1: do it every day, it's going to be like a
- 32:03Speaker 1: part of your day like that. But I want it
- 32:04Speaker 1: to be so basic that you're like, there is just
- 32:07Speaker 1: no way I'm not going to do this. Okay. It's
- 32:09Speaker 1: going to be insanely, insanely simple. Okay, But I want
- 32:14Speaker 1: you to determine what that is and start today unless
- 32:18Speaker 1: there's no way you can start today and which can
- 32:19Speaker 1: start tomorrow, and you're going to do it every single
- 32:22Speaker 1: day until the end of the year. And then because
- 32:24Speaker 1: you've done it every single day by default, you're going
- 32:26Speaker 1: to do it for the forever. Okay, So what is
- 32:29Speaker 1: that habit going to be? And I want it to
- 32:30Speaker 1: be fucking basic, and it's just to instill in you
- 32:34Speaker 1: that you can start in new habit whenever, make it trivial,
- 32:37Speaker 1: don't attach it to emotions. And then I have put
- 32:39Speaker 1: an I've put an eighth one in there just for you, know,
- 32:42Speaker 1: all of you that are playing along at home, and
- 32:45Speaker 1: it's fucking read my book. And I know a lot
- 32:47Speaker 1: of you are currently reading it or have. Well, no,
- 32:50Speaker 1: the thirty days hasn't happened yet, so hopefully you haven't
- 32:52Speaker 1: finished it. But my book Chase Change. How to Chase
- 32:56Speaker 1: Change is actually the title, and which is thirty Days
- 33:00Speaker 1: to Master your mindset. I would love for you guys
- 33:02Speaker 1: to go through those thirty days, even if it takes
- 33:04Speaker 1: you sixty days to go through it before the end
- 33:07Speaker 1: of the year. Work through all of those modules as well.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I think that will give you like a really great
- 33:12Speaker 1: platform to end the year and feel really good about yourself. Okay,
- 33:15Speaker 1: so here we're working on let's go over them again
- 33:18Speaker 1: because I love them so much. So we've got goals.
- 33:21Speaker 1: We're doing something small for your goals. You're going to
- 33:23Speaker 1: remove that barrier to entry and make it like I'm
- 33:26Speaker 1: fucking doing one percent, five percent, fifty percent, whatever it is.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I'm removing the barrier to entry and I'm just starting
- 33:32Speaker 1: with one at a time. Then you've got work. We're
- 33:34Speaker 1: going to really separate that. We're going to have boundaries.
- 33:37Speaker 1: We're going to separate work life from my actual life.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I am more than just my job. I'm more than
- 33:42Speaker 1: just my role at work. I am a fun, dynamic individual.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I'm multifaceted. I need to diversify who I am so
- 33:49Speaker 1: I can feel really happy and relaxed and just rediscover
- 33:52Speaker 1: all parts of myself that I used to love that
- 33:55Speaker 1: I'm going to bring back. Relationships are going to cut
- 33:57Speaker 1: the dead weight. We're going to get rid of in
- 34:00Speaker 1: effort where it's not reciprocated and feeling like absolute dog shit.
- 34:03Speaker 1: We're gonna feel good. We're going to be putting in
- 34:05Speaker 1: effort with the people that we want to We're going
- 34:07Speaker 1: to be selecting someone we haven't touched base within a while,
- 34:09Speaker 1: we love and we're going to spend time with them.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Fun hobbies. How are we're bringing fun back up onto
- 34:14Speaker 1: that pedestal? And rewards? What rewards can we put into practice.
- 34:18Speaker 1: But when we are achieving these little milestones, and then
- 34:21Speaker 1: we've got health, mental and physical health, what are we
- 34:23Speaker 1: doing towards that tiny things? And then home and physical
- 34:26Speaker 1: possessions declutter. Physical space equals declutter in the mind. And
- 34:31Speaker 1: then we've got bring one new tiny habit into your
- 34:35Speaker 1: life and prove to yourself that you're able to stick
- 34:38Speaker 1: to a habit. And then, of course number eight is
- 34:40Speaker 1: by my book. Guys, thank you so much. I would
- 34:43Speaker 1: love for you guys to write to me and let
- 34:45Speaker 1: me know how you're going with all of this. Put
- 34:47Speaker 1: it on the Facebook group. I'm also due to do
- 34:49Speaker 1: another live. I did it live on my Instagram last
- 34:52Speaker 1: week for the launch of my book and it was
- 34:54Speaker 1: so fun. I loved answering your questions live and I
- 34:57Speaker 1: think I said to Shnaw, we're going to call it
- 34:59Speaker 1: like morning much a conversation Pete or something. But we
- 35:02Speaker 1: need to do another one. This is me doing number
- 35:05Speaker 1: which one? Is it? Number three? Relationships connect with someone?
- 35:09Speaker 1: So maybe that's my way of connecting with someone as
- 35:13Speaker 1: well as Kylie in the US. But I'll do another
- 35:16Speaker 1: live and we can have another conversation while we all
- 35:18Speaker 1: drink a much because that was fucking fun. Yeah, guys,
- 35:23Speaker 1: thanks for tuning in if you're watching the video, Hello,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I quite enjoyed recording this from home. I'm very relaxed
- 35:31Speaker 1: on my couch here. And next time if I record
- 35:33Speaker 1: from home, I'll have Hubbib on top of me, my
- 35:35Speaker 1: beautiful dog, not my partner tat own, but Habib. Anyway,
- 35:38Speaker 1: love you guys so much. I'm babbling. I'm going to
- 35:40Speaker 1: go instill a brain new habit and then I've got
- 35:42Speaker 1: to let you know what that habit's actually going to
- 35:43Speaker 1: because I haven't thought about it yet, but I'm excited
- 35:46Speaker 1: and we'll do it all together. Anyway, Love you guys
- 35:48Speaker 1: so much. As always, remember, be kind to yourself, be
- 35:51Speaker 1: kind to your brain, don't take shit from anyone, and
- 35:54Speaker 1: especially don't take shit from yourself. Dog
