- 0:00Alright, Are you ready? Bound Bangor Management Fantasy
- 0:04Hockey Podcast. Woo woo.
- 0:07A moment of silence where Jake's woo would normally be.
- 0:10Jake's Who is the worst of our three Who's anyways?
- 0:12So that's true. Let the roasting begin.
- 0:16Here. Yeah, so welcome into Bangor
- 0:20Management, the fantasy hockey podcast.
- 0:22As you may notice, Josh is doing the intro instead of Jakey
- 0:25because he ditched us for Florida this week.
- 0:27So. Spontaneously, he didn't tell us
- 0:29he was just go next week, I'm not going to be here.
- 0:32I'm like, oh, why? Why?
- 0:32What's happening is like, Oh yeah, I'm in Florida.
- 0:34Yeah, OK. And we were like, but what about
- 0:36all the fans? Yeah.
- 0:38And he said I don't care, but you know what?
- 0:40Word for word. Yeah, that's exactly the
- 0:42conversation we had. Anyways, so on today's episode
- 0:46we will be discussing some news stories from around the league
- 0:48including injury updates and of course the classic tidbits and
- 0:52we will also be doing some would you rathers for rest of season
- 0:54value. As long as the would you rather
- 0:56master is here, those will happen.
- 0:58All that matters, although we're not gonna have a tie breaker now
- 1:00on our opinions, but you know. It's true I should have the
- 1:04tiebreaker since I made. Them I think I could imitate
- 1:07Jakey enough to or emulate how you would feel.
- 1:11If we agree that Jackie usually doesn't agree with us.
- 1:14That's true. Well, we agree we have the
- 1:16majority anyways. But anyways, yeah.
- 1:19Yeah, but before we hop into it, just want to remind everybody to
- 1:22follow us on our social medias. We track the link in our link
- 1:25tree. You'll have you'll be linked to
- 1:27all of them right there. Follow us on Spotify and Apple
- 1:29as well and rate US five stars if you haven't already and you
- 1:32like to content. But yeah, let's get right into
- 1:34it. All right, so first news story,
- 1:38Val Nichushkin is out longer than expected.
- 1:40He's practicing in a non contact jersey jersey, but the coach
- 1:43said he could still be far from her return.
- 1:45This one kind of confusing on the timeline.
- 1:47He was supposed to be out only 7 to 10, and then that passed and
- 1:51now the coach was saying some concerning stuff like, oh, we
- 1:53don't know when we're gonna get him back, but at the same time
- 1:55he's practicing. So it's kind of on and off.
- 1:58I think it's going to be a type of thing where it seems like
- 2:00he's out forever until one day he just magically appears in the
- 2:02lineup. So in terms of who it affects,
- 2:05it's really just that power play one spot.
- 2:07It's right now. Did they shuffle up the?
- 2:10Line in McKinnon and Joy and then line 2 centre is Rantanen
- 2:18with Logan O'Connor on his right and I think it was Colton on his
- 2:21left. Oh wow, that's interesting
- 2:23because I was watching the game yesterday and O'Connor was on
- 2:27for overtime and he got an assist.
- 2:29On that I. Like him a lot of that overtime.
- 2:30But he's a classic bottom six guy.
- 2:31He's not supposed to be in the top 6.
- 2:33Yeah, so I guess that's just a placeholder while on the
- 2:35chickens out and then more interesting, I guess the power
- 2:38play one right now, it's fucking Andrea.
- 2:40I don't think there's any doubt 1-2 comes back, he bumps one of
- 2:42them. I guess the question is which
- 2:43one gets bumped? I think the more interesting
- 2:46thing is how much Casey Middlestadt has followed in the
- 2:50races. That's why you.
- 2:51See did you see last game he got his first shift only in the
- 2:53third period. No way are you?
- 2:55Serious. You got his first shift only in
- 2:56third period he was entering. The fourth line, that's crazy.
- 2:58So that's got to be some like behind the scenes stuff I feel
- 3:01like because. They traded a lot for him.
- 3:04No, it's Byron. Yeah.
- 3:05It was Byron plus a pic I. Think.
- 3:07I think so. Yeah, so and then.
- 3:09And he started off the season super well.
- 3:10Yeah, but he was playing with great deployment, right?
- 3:12And yeah, now he's kind of like falling from the graces a little
- 3:15bit like he was on that P1 as opposed to all these other guys.
- 3:18First, Yeah. And now they clearly don't like
- 3:21him enough. So yeah, I think I'm gonna make
- 3:22a move for Centre, to be honest. Yeah.
- 3:24Or maybe just slots in right there?
- 3:26He was skating, we're seeing. More videos of Landis cog
- 3:28skating and he's looking. Nice.
- 3:29Yeah. I think that's gonna be another
- 3:30one where we just keep hearing about it for a while and then
- 3:33one day he just appears. That's if he appears.
- 3:34You know, it might that might be an LIRR.
- 3:36And for the playoffs? Type of vibe.
- 3:37I wish he was like on a relevant team in our league.
- 3:40Yeah, I mean, I feel like it's better that he's not.
- 3:43You know, if he comes back and starts killing it, it's better
- 3:45that he's on the last place team than.
- 3:46On a team held ransom. Be like I wanna play per game
- 3:49play. Sorry.
- 3:49Exactly. Anyways, yeah, so anyway, so
- 3:53that's pretty much it for that one.
- 3:55On to the next one. We've got Jake Walman back from
- 3:58injury, back on power play 1 and that's just good for the entire
- 4:02Sharks team. I don't think whatever was
- 4:03replacing him on the power play wasn't fantasy relevant so.
- 4:06I mean those Timothy Little, I think they like it with the J.
- 4:10OK, I never know if the Jays are silent or not, but yeah, so he
- 4:15was never fantasy relevant even while having that power play
- 4:17spot. And honestly, there's a lot of
- 4:19interesting guys on the sharks. I like these bottom tier teams
- 4:23are always fun spots because there's kind of no pressure and
- 4:26it's always the young guys kind of jump in.
- 4:28But but yeah, anyways. Well, I mean, if he's.
- 4:30Great for blocks, great for shots, and he's better on the
- 4:33PowerPoint than any other defence when they have so.
- 4:35Yeah, he was on pace for a great year, and now that he's back,
- 4:37he's gonna be still on pace for a great year.
- 4:39We've got Boone Jenner expected to return after the Four Nations
- 4:43face off break. So that's pretty huge.
- 4:45He's always been a banger league, kind of like stud.
- 4:47He's great for shots, face off wins, hits, blocks and then
- 4:51usually chips in some points. The only difference this year
- 4:53than previous years will be 1. The fact that he missed most of
- 4:56the season. So guys coming back from big
- 4:58injuries like that, you know, won't necessarily start off as
- 5:00hot. And then there's the fact that
- 5:02Columbus has a bunch of new young guys who have taken over
- 5:05the reins. You know, you've got that.
- 5:06There's always cracking that line.
- 5:07One full. Of the new guys that are kind of
- 5:10like cemented their spot. There, Yeah.
- 5:12So normally like generous kind of a lock for line one power
- 5:14play one, but this year like I think I expect him to be more
- 5:17line 2 power play too when he comes.
- 5:18Back I can see even like I could see line 2 winger or line 3
- 5:22centre, like I wouldn't be shocked.
- 5:24Yeah, he's missed the whole season too, right.
- 5:26So by the time he comes back, like I'd be shocked if they put
- 5:28him back into like a heavy deployment kind of situation
- 5:31right off. The bat The thing is that what
- 5:32he's best for is the back cats and that.
- 5:34Is the captain. Too.
- 5:35That's it you know, So even if he doesn't get as good
- 5:37deployment, he could see a drop in points but his back will be
- 5:41solid. So I still like him as a stash
- 5:42in a bangers league if you. Have the IR spot for like deep
- 5:45deep bangers. League, yeah, yeah.
- 5:47So that's the main interesting thing is that it was expected
- 5:51that he'd be out for the season and the fact that they're
- 5:53expecting him back late mid February is is pretty big.
- 5:56He's a good start right now if you have the opportunity.
- 5:58Yeah, we got Evander Kane underwent knee surgery in
- 6:02addition to all the other surgeries he's been having,
- 6:04including hip surgery. I wouldn't expect him back
- 6:06before fantasy playoffs. And even that I think is a is a
- 6:09bit of a stretch. I wouldn't expect it.
- 6:11Think they're going to try like he's on LTIR right now and I
- 6:14think they're going to try and use that cap at the deadline.
- 6:17And so I think that, you know, if you have the R spot, you
- 6:20couldn't stash him, but I don't think it's really gonna.
- 6:22Amount to much. I are the whole season draft,
- 6:25put him on IR like, you know, just kind of like a free pick
- 6:27there and then. There's no harm in having him if
- 6:29you have the space, but I wouldn't expect much.
- 6:31If you're struggling for IR spots, he's an easy cut at this
- 6:34point after this last injury. So yeah, just keep that in mind.
- 6:38But fantasy playoffs, maybe. Yeah, I know you're hoping we've
- 6:43got Charlie McAvoy on IR due to a nagging injury.
- 6:47The coach said he'll miss this week and then be reevaluated.
- 6:49And in the meantime, Mason Lori has taken a spot on Power Play
- 6:52one. Is that how you say his name,
- 6:53Lori? I think so.
- 6:55In my head was Loray, but I also have not heard the commentators
- 6:58say anything. So I've heard it, the
- 7:00commentator say it, but they've got really thick Boston accents,
- 7:02so who knows what it actually is.
- 7:05But yeah, what do you think about the?
- 7:08I mean, the McAvoy owner playing against you this week, I
- 7:10definitely was not thrilled about this news.
- 7:12I was. Yeah, I know.
- 7:14I'm sure it kind of came as a surprise too, because we didn't
- 7:17really have any news about this nagging injury.
- 7:19I just assume everybody's playing on nagging injury.
- 7:21Yeah, if he only misses a week, great.
- 7:23The thing is for Macavoy is that we playing bangers league with
- 7:27Pimms and he's elite for that because he's arguably one of the
- 7:30best defensemen Pimms guys. It's not like a radical gudis
- 7:32or. Whatever of the best guys who's
- 7:35like not a pure bangers guy who also can get.
- 7:37Yeah, like he gets a lot of Pimms, surprisingly.
- 7:39I guess it just means he's kind of undisciplined.
- 7:42Great for fantasy, not great for the Boston Bruins.
- 7:44But his power play production has been basically nonexistent
- 7:48this season, which is really surprising.
- 7:50I mean, I think he was primed for bounce back because Boston
- 7:53has been just. Bad.
- 7:56Do you think there's any chance that when he comes back he
- 7:58doesn't get the power play one? Spot back, there's a chance of
- 8:00that. For sure if they do well in his.
- 8:01Even rotated him out like in practice lines and yeah, those
- 8:04games, like he'll be on PC, you or whatever, they're kind of
- 8:06changing things up to see what clicks because they're not
- 8:08scoring. On them.
- 8:08That's it. So so I think if if Laurie does
- 8:10well, you know, that's definitely an interesting watch
- 8:12this guy for now. And if he pops off on the power
- 8:14play, I wouldn't just assume that when McAvoy comes back,
- 8:17he's losing that spot. So he could be an interesting
- 8:20pick. Up the the main thing is just
- 8:21keep an eye on Lori or Lorie or on that P1 and just see if they
- 8:25end up being productive because that's the only reason why you
- 8:27would pick them up. Yeah.
- 8:29Got Roope Hintz's day-to-day. He was questionable to return to
- 8:32the game so shouldn't be too bad, but looking at the stars
- 8:36lines on a daily face off, he is not in the lineup.
- 8:40They currently have Johnston on that top line with the Robertson
- 8:43and Dadonov, so that could be a pretty, pretty big blow to Hints
- 8:49owners. Who gets bumped to P1?
- 8:51I'm saying Duchene getting bumped to P1.
- 8:53So that makes the most. Sense yeah.
- 8:55So that's pretty huge for Duchene.
- 8:57He was pretty amazing to start the season and he lost a ton of
- 9:01value on Sagan. Went out for the season and
- 9:03Marshman and Marchment has been out for weeks.
- 9:05True. And but now if he's on that
- 9:08first power play unit, he's already got I think like four or
- 9:10five points in his last like 3-4 games.
- 9:12So he's he's definitely the one who benefits from this.
- 9:16Yeah, keep an eye on him because he's kind of been, I'm gonna use
- 9:18this term again from previous episodes, but he's been a
- 9:21squishy kind of player, Yeah, where he's easily kind of gets
- 9:25banged up or as a hint previous hints owner.
- 9:30Sorry I can't English. It's like classic hints where
- 9:33you know he's fine and then doesn't come out for warmups and
- 9:36he's not playing the game. It kind of happens all the time.
- 9:38So whenever he gets hurt, I'm always kind of like red alert a
- 9:41little bit. Yeah, it tends to be usually
- 9:43more serious than expected, but keep an eye on it.
- 9:46We didn't actually get a chance to like CD injury.
- 9:48Yeah. But hopefully it's not too
- 9:50serious and it was just like end of the game, no reason to risk
- 9:52him, Yeah, type of thing. Dylan Guenther is out
- 9:56indefinitely. That's Josh.
- 9:58Dylan has taken his spot in the lineup for now.
- 10:00Yeah, that was really out of nowhere.
- 10:02And the fact indefinitely, you know, we've seen indefinitely
- 10:06mean all season. We've seen indefinitely mean
- 10:07like a week. When they put indefinitely right
- 10:09off the bat, that's when it's scary.
- 10:10Yeah, that's true. Because if they're like, oh, we
- 10:12evaluated, it's like week to week.
- 10:14And then, you know, they evaluated again, they're like,
- 10:16oh, it's worse than we anticipated.
- 10:17His progression is not going well then OK.
- 10:19But if it's definitely right off the bat, usually it's not really
- 10:22good. News.
- 10:23Yeah, that's like. Month to month in my mind.
- 10:25Yeah, I think it's a bit more a bit more vague than that because
- 10:28like I said, like I mean Ghost is very recently was
- 10:30indefinitely and he came back after like a week and a half.
- 10:32So it definitely happens. Yeah, he was out.
- 10:35For super short time, being a little bit more mysterious with
- 10:38their. Injuries, yeah, but regardless,
- 10:40that's a big loss for Utah and for the Utah, as we like to say
- 10:43Utah and but Josh Stone coming in and has a power play point
- 10:48goal in his last three games. So it was on A5 on three.
- 10:53So I'm not like 2 putting too much jumping on the band again
- 10:56just yet, but he's definitely a watch list guy because he seems
- 10:59to be the one they want to put on that first power play unit as
- 11:01long as gathers out. So Nick Smoltz got bumped up
- 11:04right to line one. Yeah, exactly.
- 11:06I mean, I think we're going to talk about Logan Cooley on other
- 11:11episodes this week, but I think he is like praying for a sick
- 11:16rest of season. Yeah.
- 11:17He's like, if it was a guy that I could get on my roster, he's
- 11:20owned in like less than 50% of leagues right now.
- 11:23He's gonna be line 1P1 playing with Clayton Keller.
- 11:26And there are other best line mate, Yeah.
- 11:28I don't think this is. I don't think that's because,
- 11:31again, they're being. Out.
- 11:32No, no, definitely not. But he wasn't always on line 1.
- 11:35Yeah, I think he was. On either.
- 11:37He was online. Well, the power play, one thing
- 11:40has been for a while now and we've seen him like be great
- 11:42ever since that change. That's been like for months.
- 11:44But the line 1 is because Gunther's out because they like
- 11:47to having Colin Gunther together on Line 2 and they would put
- 11:49hate on line 1. So, yeah, so that he's got
- 11:53better regular even strength deployment with Gen. throughout.
- 11:57Yeah, but the main thing, just keep an eye on Josh.
- 11:59Don't see if he can make things happen.
- 12:00If not, they'll probably switch him for somebody else.
- 12:02But that's it. Profanity.
- 12:04Yeah, I saw Charlie Lindgren on IR.
- 12:07Not sure how long he'll be out, but I also just saw recently
- 12:10that he's I think traveling with the team.
- 12:12So I wouldn't expect to be too long.
- 12:13But as long as he is out, Logan Thompson's getting all the
- 12:16starts. He's not going to get any.
- 12:19He's not gonna get the back to backs obviously, but other than
- 12:20those, he's gonna get all the starts until he gets back.
- 12:22And Thompson's been amazing. So this just increases his value
- 12:25as until then comes back. Yeah absolutely.
- 12:28If holding lingren, like if you have an IR spot, drop them if
- 12:30you don't have an R. If you have an IR spot, feel
- 12:33free to stash them. If you don't just drop them.
- 12:34I wouldn't feel bad about it. Yeah, Aaron Ekblad is
- 12:38day-to-day, but this is one of those long day to days that's
- 12:41been lasting for a week. Nate Schmidt has taken his spot
- 12:44on power play one. Forsling will never get power
- 12:47play one. I know we've mentioned it last
- 12:48week on our ad hole drop. And I think what I've seen is
- 12:52that Paul Morris, that's it. Well, you, this is a legend.
- 12:56But no, what I've seen is that Palmaris really likes Forsling,
- 13:00but he thinks he's too valuable to kind of like, spend time on
- 13:04the power. He'd rather use his ice time
- 13:05defensively than on the power play.
- 13:07Yeah, I know that's I'm saying like it's not a like a them
- 13:11saying. That he can be a.
- 13:12That's exactly. The time I time somewhere.
- 13:15Else exactly. And I think they figured that
- 13:17their power play is not the type that relies on the defensemen
- 13:20because their forwards on that power play are so good.
- 13:22So they figure they can plug in any third line defensemen to be
- 13:25the power play quarterback, and then Forcing's time could be
- 13:28used more valuably on defence. They're not wrong, honestly so.
- 13:30Yeah no it's a good real life move but it sucks for fantasy.
- 13:33But anyways keep an eye on Schmitt if he starts doing well
- 13:36on the power play. Could be worth a stream until.
- 13:38Comes back, yeah. I mean, I'd be shocked, but
- 13:40yeah, keep an eye on it, yeah. GT Miller had a really low ice
- 13:44time. Yeah, this is the last news.
- 13:45We'll talk about it. Yeah, the biggest one.
- 13:47Maybe this is the one non injury related 1 and it is huge.
- 13:50Yeah, he's had way lower ice time.
- 13:52I saw you had 13 minutes last game and I think the game before
- 13:54that he was at 14 minutes. A guy like Jean Miller should be
- 13:56playing 20 plus minutes a night. So this is a crazy low amount of
- 13:59ice time and no power play time, and we're saying is this panic
- 14:03mode? Team owner, I am fully
- 14:06panicking, right? Now, but you can't sell low on
- 14:08Himalayan based on this. I mean, you could, you could
- 14:10sell. Him a bar where you could sell
- 14:12them and I would strongly consider that at this point
- 14:14because I think he's getting it traded.
- 14:16Yeah, but I mean the trade should increase his value.
- 14:19Mean count your worst if he's playing 14 minutes.
- 14:21Here, Yeah, exactly. I think all the signs are
- 14:24pointing towards a trade. I think it's going to be the
- 14:26Rangers. That's pretty much the main
- 14:28destination. If the Rangers didn't have such
- 14:31a bad playoff schedule for us, for our fantasy playoffs, then
- 14:35would be all over trying to buy Loan Miller.
- 14:37Yeah, The thing is that if he ends up, the Rangers have two
- 14:40games in the finals and then three games in both the semis
- 14:43and the quarterfinals, which is by far the worst schedule yet.
- 14:45So I don't want to buy low. On him like highly relevant
- 14:48fantasy assets. Too, But I've been avoiding all
- 14:51of them. And so that's why Miller's kind
- 14:52of on my avoid list right now just because of the playoff
- 14:55schedule. But if you if you're on
- 14:57different playoff weeks or you're focusing on just pure
- 15:00value, I think he's a great. Buy low.
- 15:02I mean, listen, like the last two games at the time of this
- 15:05recording, they played model, they beat them 30.
- 15:07He had two shots. He played 13 minutes.
- 15:09Yeah. Then last game they played
- 15:11Winnipeg, they got wrecked 6/1. He played 14 minutes.
- 15:14He had two shots. Yeah, people already had three
- 15:17assists that game. Yeah, I know across the board.
- 15:19Yeah, so. It's just one of those things,
- 15:23like if you could flip them right now, like you're you're
- 15:24selling low. How low are you going?
- 15:26Let me give you some names. You tell me.
- 15:28OK. Would you rather have JT Miller
- 15:29rest of the season or Elias Pettersson?
- 15:33That's a Dick Miller. Really.
- 15:35Yeah, I. Would take better than.
- 15:36Really. Wow, you're usually so high on.
- 15:39Miller I know I am high on Miller, but I just.
- 15:41You don't think that this all points to a trade and then
- 15:43immediately his value jumps back to where it should be?
- 15:45Yeah, but I think when he gets traded, Peterson's value goes up
- 15:48too. For sure, but I mean baseline
- 15:50Miller's like ceiling is higher than Peterson.
- 15:53Cuz when's trade deadline like couple months down?
- 15:57Usually beginning of March I think.
- 15:59OK, so there you go. So that's.
- 16:01In a while, yeah, that's fair if you're.
- 16:03Waiting first round Pick on your team for that long.
- 16:06If you could flip him for something good, but it's not
- 16:08like Peterson been doing well. That's what I'm saying.
- 16:10So it's kind of like. A.
- 16:11So I take that. Like sell low back.
- 16:13Yeah, so I take Miller over Peterson because they're the
- 16:15exact same situation and they're gonna get good at the same time,
- 16:17but Miller ceiling is higher. Do you think you can flip Miller
- 16:19for like Adrian Kempe? I think you definitely could,
- 16:23but I think that's, uh, I still think I prefer Miller to
- 16:25campaign and I like camping a lot and I know you're super high
- 16:28on him. I think like what you'd have to
- 16:29do with Miller if you're if you have him and you can't be
- 16:32patient, cancel is pretty solid. But I think you could, yeah, at
- 16:37this point. But I think you could try and
- 16:38like still get one of the top top guys because Miller still
- 16:40has that name and. He has no production, even when
- 16:43he was playing 20 minutes. He just have to sell.
- 16:44You just have to sell the other person on the whole, him getting
- 16:47traded and going back to the player he's supposed to be.
- 16:49Because like I said, I would be very happy to buy Miller and
- 16:52Pretty well for him, Eichel. I think Eichel this year has
- 16:56shown that he's worth like a first rounder who's playing like
- 16:59a first rounder. Yoshi's been pretty garbage
- 17:01lately too. That's a, I mean forward for the
- 17:03swap. Yeah.
- 17:05Pretty crazy, yeah. We're not spend too much time on
- 17:07this, but yeah, just keep it in mind.
- 17:08And yeah, I mean, if I'm a Miller owner, I mean, you got 2
- 17:13point of views here. I think I'm a little bit more
- 17:14worried than Josh's, but it's all leading towards the trade,
- 17:17right? So just depends when that.
- 17:18Happens for me, it's just if you see when I see a high end player
- 17:21like that doing so poorly, like I'm like a shark, like circling
- 17:25the water, you know, like I'm dying to like Bill on.
- 17:27That you're trying to blow, not trying to.
- 17:28Sell. That's it.
- 17:29Exactly what for what? His perceived value.
- 17:31Is. Yeah, exactly.
- 17:33All right. Time to get into the Would you
- 17:35rather the rest of season right? What you rather master?
- 17:39I think I cooked up some really good ones.
- 17:41Alright, let's. See.
- 17:42Did you look at them? You see them?
- 17:44I see them now. OK, I like giving a fresh.
- 17:48Reaction. Yeah, I tried to go one for each
- 17:50position. Nice.
- 17:51Thank God you were here because you would not have known what
- 17:53that meant. OK, start off with the goalies.
- 17:57Stuart Skinner or Demko? I'm going with Skinner here.
- 18:02I think first of all, looking at the team, I'm way more confident
- 18:06in Edmonton than Vancouver. Vancouver's kind of like a mess
- 18:09lately. So I think team wise that's a no
- 18:11brainer. Demco is obviously the better
- 18:13goalie than Skinner I don't think.
- 18:14I don't think there's much there, but Skinner's on a better
- 18:17team. Demko has actually been
- 18:19splitting starts with Lincoln in, so he's not even the clear
- 18:21starter. Banged up.
- 18:22But that's it. So that kind of ties into it.
- 18:24It's his injury history. The fact that Likens shown he's
- 18:27a reliable 50%, you know, 1B, whereas Skinner has Calvin
- 18:31Pickard as competition. So to me I think it's clearly a
- 18:34Skinner, which is crazy because preseason I would have said
- 18:36Dumbo 100% even with the injury. I'm also on Team Skinner so I
- 18:41think Jake would have probably been Team Demco.
- 18:42Yeah. But I just think Skinner is
- 18:46gonna probably get more starts, more wins.
- 18:49I think his save percentage and goals against average is
- 18:52probably gonna be a little lower, though, which, I mean,
- 18:55counts for a lot when talking about the quality of a goalie.
- 18:58Yeah, but I think he's just gonna end up getting more, more
- 19:02top quality, the wins and stuff from a better team.
- 19:04Agreed. Alright, next one.
- 19:06This is spicy. Yeah.
- 19:07Dougie Hamilton or Lane Hudson rest of season.
- 19:11You know, I think I actually am going to in one of our other
- 19:14episodes this week, mentioned Lane Hudson as a cell high, but
- 19:18I'm fully on the Lane train. He is so, so good.
- 19:22I can't, I can't help it, you know, I'm so reluctant.
- 19:25I'm so reluctant to like praise a hab in fantasy because I'm so
- 19:30used to the Habs like disappointing me in real life
- 19:32and us not having any elite players.
- 19:35But Hudson is an elite player. I think he's going to have those
- 19:38ups and downs of being a rookie. I think that's just inherent
- 19:41with any rookie. Like they're not going to be,
- 19:42you know, super consistent. But the fact is he's at like
- 19:451.15 points per game over the past month, which is insane.
- 19:49He's got power play one on lock and just if you watch him like
- 19:52just like the eye test, it's unreal.
- 19:54He I saw a stat that. Said it was for so much of the
- 19:56success. Pretty much most of our offence
- 19:58seems to come from him and I saw a stat that recently that said
- 20:01that he has the most. Completed passes in the slot
- 20:05like in of the offensive zone of any defenseman this year.
- 20:08That's which is a crazy, you know, like all you need is good
- 20:11finishers to finish. These passes entries are insane.
- 20:13Yeah, and the power plays looked really good with him and line up
- 20:16on him. So he's the one knock on him is
- 20:19he has zero peripherals. Like he doesn't shoot much and
- 20:21he doesn't like hit at all and blocks are not really there.
- 20:24But his points and PowerPoints are so unreal that.
- 20:27Exactly what you expected Luke used to be last season.
- 20:30Exactly. That's pretty much it.
- 20:32Was doing this without the. Yeah, exactly.
- 20:34No, 100% true. And now yes.
- 20:37And Dougie Hamilton has been pretty bad lately.
- 20:39I mean, that whole devil's team has been really bad lately.
- 20:41They. I mean they were due for some
- 20:42regression for. Sure, every minute, but they
- 20:44over regressed I think. I think now they're due for some
- 20:46regression in the opposite direction, so I think they are.
- 20:49Clicking. Yeah, but I mean, also like
- 20:51they've been getting shut out left and right.
- 20:53Like they really a team with that offensive firepower should
- 20:55not be getting shut out as often as they are.
- 20:57So I do think Hamilton will be better than he is now, but I'm
- 21:00definitely on Lane Hudson train for the rest of the season.
- 21:03I think the debate here is it in the block for negligible.
- 21:05I think Hamilton will get like an extra hit a game which is
- 21:07definitely noticed like a worthy for the basement and the shots
- 21:11are gonna be pretty. That's the biggest difference,
- 21:13is there? Should be like A2 shot
- 21:14difference basically almost, which is pretty significant.
- 21:16So I think the points difference has to be pretty substantial for
- 21:20Hudson to make up for the difference in value of the
- 21:22consistent of two extra shots and an extra hit a game, right?
- 21:25Yeah. So do you think that they will
- 21:28reach that differentially point? Difference point per game.
- 21:32I think he hovers around a point per game for the rest of the.
- 21:34Season. That's nuts, right?
- 21:35Yeah, he should be around there. Yeah, like Doggie has no
- 21:38PowerPoints in the last month. Yeah.
- 21:39Is that .54 points per game? Yeah, it's crazy.
- 21:42What happens if they get back to you?
- 21:43Like on normal power play where it's like .3 he gets back to .8.
- 21:47Yeah. Like does Hudson finish at point
- 21:508.85? If you think they're going up at
- 21:53similar points, I definitely would.
- 21:54Take it then you should take doggie, right?
- 21:56Because you're getting better peripherals.
- 21:57Yeah, but I think, I think Lane gets a significantly more
- 22:00points. That's tough.
- 22:04I wanna, I wanna my mind, says Dougie.
- 22:06My heart says Hudson. I don't know what.
- 22:10I don't know what to do. We need Jake.
- 22:11You're Jakey would fully go Lane Hudson. 100%.
- 22:14Alright, so Lane Hudson it is, but I think we have to consider
- 22:17when you're making these options, you're doesn't have
- 22:20hits or blocks. It's not even a question.
- 22:24The more peripherals your league has, the more in question this
- 22:28decision is. All right.
- 22:29Next one is Josh Norris versus Sam Bennett.
- 22:33I'm going Norris. I've been I've been trying to
- 22:35trade for Norris we all months, but.
- 22:37Like all, I think just me and you.
- 22:39But he's been so bad, it's crazy.
- 22:41I haven't we haven't been able to like pull the trigger on this
- 22:43but but. Yeah, 33%.
- 22:45I know, it's crazy. People are looking down on him.
- 22:48A little bit, yeah. And both Norris and Bennett
- 22:50started off the season super hot and were super cold for the past
- 22:53month, whereas Norris is now showing signs of life, but it is
- 22:56still cold. But I think he will bounce back.
- 22:58They're both the exact same what type of player, which is why
- 23:01this great would you rather? They're both centres who are not
- 23:05necessarily the biggest points guys, but they're great for
- 23:08bangers in terms of Pimms shots, face off wins and hits.
- 23:12So they're both guys you're always happy to have on your
- 23:14squad in a bangers league, but you would hope that they would
- 23:16chip in with points more than they have been recently.
- 23:18North used to be a more like mainly points.
- 23:21Yeah, yeah, he definitely turned into more of a complete Bangor
- 23:24player. But I mean, the thing with
- 23:27Norris is they're very clear correlation with why he wasn't
- 23:30doing well. He got loaded to the third line
- 23:31for some reason which makes no sense and he was doing very
- 23:34poorly. Then he gets moved back up to
- 23:35line one with Batherson and Ketchup and all of a sudden.
- 23:38He was always pick you one. Right.
- 23:39He was always P1, yeah, which is another good sign.
- 23:41Bennett never gets people. Exactly.
- 23:43So Norse's deployment is gonna be better.
- 23:45And the fact is, now that he got back on first line, he's got
- 23:47three points in the last three games.
- 23:49So I think it's a deal. I've been like nonstop going for
- 23:53him. We'll see.
- 23:55We'll see who outbids each other, if the if the guy will
- 23:57trade with either of us. But.
- 23:58Fortunately, we are aligned once again.
- 24:01Yeah, we're always targeting the same guys.
- 24:04No, but I just mean like, I don't know.
- 24:06I feel like I don't know. I feel like we should be more
- 24:10not in a line on these pics. I know what your others.
- 24:13Yeah, just means Jake Jakey kept the balance, you know?
- 24:16Yeah. Try to anyways.
- 24:18Yeah, alright, maybe, well, we got 2 more left, maybe we won't
- 24:20agree on these ones. All right.
- 24:21Next one is Zach Hyman versus Jason Robertson.
- 24:25I'm gonna go with Robertson on this one.
- 24:30I'm like, I'm I've been trying to buy Robertson too.
- 24:32I tried to buy him when he was garbage and the guy wouldn't do
- 24:35it, so there's no way he's gonna trade him now.
- 24:36I didn't try to buy when he was garbage, and then I tried to buy
- 24:39him a like, as soon as he started having like 2-3 points,
- 24:42Yeah, a couple games in a row where he had points, I was just
- 24:44like, alright, I'm in. Yeah.
- 24:45And then it's too late, it feels like.
- 24:47Yeah, but even the manager didn't tell you.
- 24:49Was that I'm saying he didn't want to sell him in our league
- 24:51like he was low, But yeah. And I think we recommended a few
- 24:54times for him to be a buy low. So if you grabbed him when he
- 24:56was low, then you're laughing your way to the bank if you did.
- 24:59And I do think it's too late because at this point, the
- 25:01premium you have to pay for him, it's just not worth it.
- 25:03You know, like you would just have to give someone who's
- 25:05equally good. But yeah, Robertson over human
- 25:07for me for sure. I mean, preseason, I think
- 25:10everyone would have said Robertson, but I guess it's
- 25:11close because I'm in a pretty crazy year.
- 25:13Last year I. Think Robinson gets more points.
- 25:15I think Hyman gets more shots. Yeah, Hymnal get more hits.
- 25:19I think Robertson gets more power play points.
- 25:23Yeah, the Edmonton police been a bit disappointing.
- 25:25This. And I think blocks and hits are
- 25:26probably negligible. Yeah.
- 25:28And also Robertson has a better playoff schedule.
- 25:30Yeah. So those are the things that I'm
- 25:32keeping in mind when I'm looking at these players.
- 25:34I think they're very close. I think they're both pretty
- 25:36elite fantasy assets at this point right now.
- 25:38Yeah, I would be happy with both of them, but Robertsons woken
- 25:40up, and I mean, at the start of the season, like everyone was
- 25:43saying, one of the reasons why he was starting off slow was
- 25:45because he missed all of training camp with his foot
- 25:47entry, which is a factor, which is definitely a factor and shows
- 25:50that, you know, like a good player like that doesn't say bad
- 25:52for an entire season. They'll turn it on you.
- 25:54Like, it's tough if you have to hold on to him for months before
- 25:56getting this production, but once you're here, you're not
- 25:58gonna get rid of him. Yeah.
- 26:00So I really want Robertson on my team.
- 26:02If you can get him, I would say go for.
- 26:03It Yeah. But it's gonna be harder now
- 26:06because he's turned it up. Yeah, alright, last one.
- 26:09Last one, Jordan Kyrou versus Kirill Marchenko.
- 26:14I'm going Marchenko for sure. Insane.
- 26:18Can't we agreed on all of them? That's that's super boring, but.
- 26:21This one I thought was like the the more like easy choice.
- 26:26Yeah, to me, this is an easy one.
- 26:27I mean, we were talking about Marchenko as a cell high on a
- 26:30previous week's episode and our targets were way.
- 26:32Higher than Cairo I still. No, no, I I fully agree with him
- 26:34as a cell high, but I mean, when you're selling a guy like that
- 26:36high with the way he's been playing for months, you're
- 26:38targeting like a first, second round guy.
- 26:40Yeah, Kyra is great, but he's not.
- 26:42You can just get much. Better shots and points.
- 26:45He's not a hit on Cairo, it's just more on how insane
- 26:48Marchenko has. Been exactly, Yeah, if you have
- 26:51Marchenko, you're probably thrilled because he's he's
- 26:54pickup of the year and 100. Percent, you know, there's no
- 26:56one, I think that could even come close.
- 26:58Man, I wish we disagree on any of.
- 26:59These Yeah, well, let's just say that Jake chose the other one
- 27:03for all. Of them, Jake is just like
- 27:04Jordan. Kyrou has a better name and you
- 27:06didn't pick him up off waivers. So, yeah, OK, cool.
- 27:09Good luck. Yeah, we disagree.
- 27:11We disagree with you strongly, and that was a terrible opinion.
- 27:14Anyways, so that wraps up our news and tidbits.
